- He has the biggest problem with deceit as he is logic and deceits main purpose is to shift Thomas view away from what’s factual. This often results in Logan taking his anger and frustrations out on deceit, only to regret it later.

Patton/Morality:

- is super insecure and uses jokes to hide how much he hates himself.

- He stress bakes. A few times the other sides have had to stop him because if you let him he’ll bake cookies/other treats for hours on end.

- He has no pain tolerance and cries when he dose stuff like accidentally biting his tongue, or pulling his hair while he’s brushing it.

- Is the third tallest side

- Has a small heart shaped birth mark on the back of his neck.

- He keeps a swear jar and makes the other sides but in a quarter ever time they say something worse than “oh my god”.

- Loves plants plants with a burning passion. He has a little army of succulents in his room and has named each of them.

- He is an expert at making flower crowns.

Roman/Princey:

- he’s severely lactose intolerant but he still eats/drinks dairy products anyways because he would rather die than give that up

- Randomly burst into song. Usually at very inconvenient times.

- Is the second tallest side.

- He is extremely passionate about poetry and could go on for hours about his favorite works of literature.

- Absolutely loves wearing high heals and long flowy dresses

- Gets to run around in the dream realm while Thomas is asleep and have his princely adventures.

Virgil/Anxiety:

- Can pick up all the other sides and has no problem dragging them around when he wants them to do something. He can just throw anyone of them over his shoulder and they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

- Snorts when he laughs.

- Is the forth tallest side.

- Has a serious guilt complex.

- Virgil knows all the first aid a person would need to know. He's become the local nurse.

Deceit/my son:

- Deceit is color blind and can’t see the color red.

- Deceit knows when your lying. Not only that, but when you lie, he can also hear the truth. For example. If someone says “I’m okay” he knows how they are actually feeling and can literally hear them thinking “I hate myself” or something along those lines.

- He’s really self conscious about his name, so much so that not even the other dark sides know his name and he normally just goes by Dee.

- He’s selectively mute. It normally only happens in really emotionally draining situations.

- When Deceit cries he also instinctively starts laughing because he’s trying to convince himself that he’s fine and he hopes that laughing will cover up how miserable he is. But in the end it just kinda comes out as a really sad and broken sobbing/laughing sound.

- Deceit is the shortest out of all of Thomas’s sides.

- He is afraid of heights, the fact that he is short and often has to climb on top of stuff to reach things dose not help.

- He has a huge pet python.

- Laughs like a classic disney villains when he gets exited. But it sounds more endearing that actually threatening.

- He doesn’t only regulate Thomas’s lies, he looks over the other sides lying as well.

- Has a really detailed and intricate half sleeve tattoo of a two headed snake on his left upper arm.

- Has an eating disorder. Will go days without eating. And when he dose eat it’s normally something really small. He’s also insecure about eating in-front of other people. So when he dose eat he’ll normally just take it to his room.

- He cries when he eats because he’s disappointed in himself and sometimes he ends up forcing himself to throw up after eating.

- Has nightmares a lot and often wakes up terrified and/or in tears. But thanks to his selective mutism he is unable to scream or cry out in his sleep.

- Makes a lot of vine jokes with Virgil

- Is extremely sensitive to yelling and can’t stand being yelled at. A lot of the time he isn’t able to talk when getting yelled at because of his selective mutism and will kinda just freeze up and take the abuse. (Unless it to much for him to handle, then he’ll just start silently crying)

- Is extremely touch he’d starved. It’s to the point that he wants affection, but as soon as he gets it he gets scared and doesn’t want it anymore.

- he has the fluffiest hair but is really embarrassed about it so that’s why he wears a hat

- has had several panic attacks over his scales and has actually tried to pry them of. He’s only ever been able to remove one but it was so excruciatingly painful that he dares not do it again and just settles for scratching at them.

- Deceit can be a flirty motherfucker when he wants to be.

How to get Tattooed: A Master Post

So I’ve been apprenticing for the last few months at the shop where I got my first tattoo, and have learned a lot about art, tattoos, and how shitty people can be when they walk into a tattoo shop. So I’m gonna lay it all out for y’all, because there are ten thousand posts about being nice to food service workers, retail workers, and the like, but have you ever thought that you might be a huge asshole to someone that is literally injecting ink permanently into your skin?

1. Do ya damn research. It’s gonna be on you for life, make sure you’re going to an artist that is actually good at what you want done. Tattoo artists have preferred styles just like regular artists. Most of the time if you go to a tattoo shop and don’t know any of the artists, the person at the desk taking your appointment will recommend an artist. BUT if the artists in your area don’t HAVE the LUXURY of a desk person booking their appointments, you gotta look at a portfolio, a website, an instagram to figure out whether or not the artist will do what you want.

2. YES IT HURTS and NO WE WON’T OPEN EXPENSIVE MATERIALS JUST TO TEST OUT THE PAIN ON YOU FOR ONE LINE FOR FREE You’re getting ink injected into your skin via NEEDLES. HARD, METAL, NEEDLES. It will HURT.

3. If you know a guy that will do your tattoo for $50 no matter the size, they’re probably a scratcher and you’ll spend more money not only on a hospital stay, but also on getting it covered up later on. Save up your pennies, remember you’re gonna have it forever, and remember that you wouldn’t go to a guy who ‘does surgeries out of his basement for real cheap’ instead of a doctor even though they’re cheaper.

4. S T O P   S T E A L I N G   A R T  your tattoo doesn’t look cool if it’s literally a picture you found on a pinterest board that 10,000 other people have already saved. If it’s a picture of something already on someone’s skin, you’re stealing something that that artist most likely spent a lot of time designing and creating for THAT PERSON. Taking that to someone else is disrespectful to both the artist that originally created the piece and the artist you’re going to. 

This also applies to artists that aren’t tattoo artists!!!! If you want a piece that was drawn/created by an artist you found on instagram, you need to fucking ask for permission. There are artists that will literally design you something in their style if you pay for it. There are artists that don’t want their work copied onto you. And not a single artist will be ‘flattered’ that you took a piece they created and got it tattooed by someone without their permission.

5. STOP GETTING FUCKING FINGER TATTOOS BRO There are places that tattoos will not last. Literally. They will fade. BUT ANA TATTOOS ARE FOREVER. NOT ON THE SIDE OF YOUR FUCKING FINGER BRO. I swear every fucking artist that is doing a tattoo on the side of some dumb ass white girl’s finger has their eyes rolled all the way back in their skulls because the moment it becomes a gray, fuzzy line (aka three days later basically), you’re gonna be pissed and demand your money back. So maybe get that bible verse or infinity sign somewhere else.

6. DON’T BRING 30 PEOPLE TO YOUR TATTOO. One or two is one thing. Bringing your entire posse to see you get tattooed is obnoxious and rude.

7. TYPES OF TATTOOS THAT WILL NOT LAST AND WILL NOT LOOK GOOD IN A FEW YEARS: 

A.) Watercolor tattoos. Anything with no solid black outline will NOT look good in even a few MONTHS of getting it. The black ink solidifies in the skin and holds everything in place. Without it, the color will fade out incredibly fast.

B.) White ink tattoos. White ink, including not being able to see it, fades just as quickly as any other color except black. Even if it actually sets up correctly in the skin (which is hard to do), it’s gonna yellow out and then fade. So all the pain of getting a tattoo will have been for nothing because it literally will not even be there in a few months.

8. AND STOP GETTING STICK AND POKES IN YOUR FRIENDS’ BASEMENTS. The tattoo industry consists almost entirely of scrubbing, bleaching, sterilizing, and just plain cleaning every single thing we use. If it’s been in someone’s skin, we throw it away. If it’s in the vicinity of someone getting their literal skin opened up by NEEDLES, it is completely sterilized and designed to be cleaned easily. If it’s in a tattoo shop, it’s hospital-grade. If a person is working in a tattoo shop, they probably have a cleanliness compulsion. MY BOSS will actually go over things with bleach that someone has touched with a gloved hand if he ISN’T 100% SURE that that person has changed their gloves in the last five minutes.

Even the ink we use is specially made to go into skin. If you’re using fucking india ink from Michael’s it isn’t sterile, it isn’t designed to go in skin, and it’s not fucking safe. You wanna get MRSA? Great. Sure. Have fun. Doesn’t seem like a risk I’d want to take, but if you’re stupid then you’re stupid.

9. RESPECT YOUR ARTIST!!!!!!!!! IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!! GO TO A REPUTABLE ARTIST AND YOU’LL END UP WITH A TATTOO YOU CAN SHOW OFF AND BE PROUD OF INSTEAD OF SOME GARBAGE THAT YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO SOMEONE IN THE FUTURE WHY YOU WOULDVE RATHER GOTTEN A $30 TATTOO THAN A NICE TATTOO

Tattoos cost money because tattoos cost time. If you want a cheap tattoo, get one of those sticker ones that washes off in the shower. If you want something beautiful, go to a good artist and pay them well, because they’re paying their bills off that tattoo.

I once read that there is a different version of heaven for everyone. And when you die, you go to your own specialized, personalized heaven. Well, if God turns out to be real, and I somehow wind up not getting sent straight to hell, then I would wind up in a heaven similar to an empty museum. The fountain in the courtyard was flowing, and all the lights were on, but there wasn’t a single living soul in the building. Well, besides the girls down at the front desk, and a couple of custodians.

But the halls were empty. No museum-goers or employees roaming around looking suicidal. And no horrific children with sticky fingers swinging at my vases or canvases.

That’s why I’m content with my office being in the farthest corner of the museum, with the modern art. I wandered the empty white corridors with wide windows and into the huge room.

“Ernst!” I called out to the man on the far side of the exhibit, walking around the colorful blocks on the ground and avoiding the massive pelican statues made of trash hanging from the ceiling. The resident artist was setting up paint cans and his large canvas for the ten o’clock live exhibition. He turned around, a goofy smile and a splash of pink paint already on his face. “We’re expecting a big crowd today. I was looking at patron statistics and Wednesday’s have become our most popular days, surprisingly.”

“Should I do another afternoon exhibit then?” he asked, standing and wiping off a handful of brushes on his jeans.

I shrugged, pulling the daily schedule from my book bag, “Well we have field trip leaving at four so wanna do another one in the classical wing at two?”

Ernst just smiled at me the big, warm smile that made me suddenly realize why Hanschen, our head tour guide and art historian, was so happy when they wound up being soulmates.

But I still found the pair perfectly insufferable whenever they were together. For some reason, the now engaged couple always felt the need to retell the story of how Hanschen felt Ernst’s burn first but Ernst didn’t feel Hanschen’s until he had left a message on Ernst’s machine while the artist was at work. The painting was hanging up in their apartment still, with a huge red streak across the canvas and the words ‘HOLY FUCK’ painted on it sloppily.  “Sure thing, boss. Are there canvases downstairs?”

“New shipment came in last night.”

Ernst gave me a plucky thumbs up sign, signalling me to continue on my way and unlock the oak door before me that had the words ‘M. GABOR: HEAD MUSEUM CURATOR’ engraved in gold below the window. “Wait, Melchi, is there a new custodian?”

I paused awkwardly, thinking of all the recent museum news I had stored away. No. No new custodian. And I would be the first person to know.

“No. No, absolutely not,” I stammered out and finally looked over to the younger, much more liberal minded man. “Why?”

“A guy went into your office earlier that I didn’t recognize. But he had keys so I assumed he was maintenence.”

I knew literally every single person who worked here. From Tony in the giftshop, to all ten tour guides, to Pat and Sam, who cleaned up the fountain each night. And last time I checked no one else in the world has a copy of my key besides the owner of the museum.

Ernst saw the cogs in my brain turning so he simply made a shrugging motion and tucked his things into his cart, rolling it loudly out of the room.

I’ve never unlocked my door faster and been more shocked to walk into my own office. My desk was still on the other side of the fairly small room, but the big bay windows looking over the courtyard that would soon be filled with a smatter of art-lovers.  And that was all well laid out and neat.

But right in front of the door was a rickety old desk covered in pieces of paper and a handful of books I didn’t recognize. It definitely wasn’t there when I left last night. The most terrifying thing was the packaging thrown all around at random. Packaging for what  I assumed was the 1345 ink on parchment piece from the Yuan Dynasty I was supposed to pick up today just laying on the ground at my feet. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!” I barked loudly at the person standing on the other side of the desk. Picking up the art piece as daintily as possible, I looked at the figure that definitely didn’t belong in here. “Who the HELL are you?”

The figure was a man. He was very thin by the look of it, wearing a slightly baggy thrift store dress shirt and slacks. His hair was jet black and stuck out in every direction in frizzy curls. And not curls like my little brown flips. Just an absolute mess.

“What are you doing in my office?” I growled, looking into his eyes. I couldn’t quite tell the color because the bags below them were so intense that it just looked like a void behind a pair of wire framed glasses. “Get out! Get the FUCK out right FUCKING now before I call the FUCKING cops!”

The man was flinching at every word, but when I took a deep breath in before shouting again, he blurted out. “I’m Moritz Stiefel, your assistant!”

The pause for breath gave way into a long pause as I thought back into the hundreds of time where my boss had tried to tell me that I’m stretching myself too thin and need an assistant if I demand on being the only curator in the whole museum.

And the hundreds of time I told them no, I really don’t.

“My assistant….” I muttered and set the art piece down on my own desk. “So I’m thinking that they hired you, gave you the key on the desk without ever thinking of telling me.”

The guy, Moritz, didn’t respond. Possibly out of fear that I’d pull the plethora of books off my wall and chuck them at his head. I continued with a groan. “Anyway, if you’re going to assist, you might as well be a good one, right?” He nodded. “Fine, first things first, clean this shit up. My office is a tidy area and you aren’t changing that.”

“Yessir.”

“Second, don’t call me that.  How old are you? Twenty? I’m not some old man,” I sat at the desk and took a long sip from my thermos. My eyes gravitated towards the little stream of ink on the side of Moritz’s neck. 

It wasn’t rare to see ‘Love Tattoos’ out in the open. Lots of people showed them off proudly, especially when they had already been turned red. I guess it was a badge of honor to have your soulmate say that special dumb fucking phrase. But Moritz’s was still black.

Huh, okay. I dunno why my brain felt the need to focus in on it.

The practical stranger began to pick up the packaging. “I’m uh...I’m twenty-six.”

“God, you look like a high schooler with a sleeping disorder how are you older than me?” I told him in a stern voice and continued. “Anyway, I want you to ASK before you pick up deliveries from me next time. And when you’re done cleaning can you run up to the program manager’s office and give Janet my weekly update?”

“I don’t know where that is and why can’t you just email it?” Moritz said bluntly. I really liked this guy more when he was shy.

Sighing, I stood and approached my new coworker. “Cause nothing gets done in here when you email. And when you’re done, run to starbucks and get me a grande soy latte, triple shot.”

“I’m an assistant, not an intern!” Moritz bit back indignantly.  He was gonna learn really fast not to speak to me like that.

“My assistant. Chop chop.”

I’m answering all of these because as previously stated I have a real thing for filling stuff out. I like being asked questions it’s fun, keeps my brain workin’ :D

1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk? More milk. And I never drink it at the end. I can’t, I’ll get sick. I can’t drink milk, and if I have cereal too often I’ll get sick. But it’s just not right if there isn’t lots of milk D’: 2: do you like the feeling of cold air on your cheeks on a wintery day? NOOOOOOOOOOO DDDDD: 3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books? Anything? I think there’s a Mythology book around here somewhere with a peanut M&M’s wrapper in it.

4: how do you take your coffee/tea? I don’t put anything in tea, and I’ll drink black coffee, but sometimes I put creamer in it. If it’s available. I like peppermint mocha best yum :D

5: are you self-conscious of your smile? Nope! I think it’s pretty nice, actually. It’s one ofthe few things I actually like about myself lol. I hate my body and my acne but I think my nose, eyes, and smile are decent. I had braces so my teeth are straight. I didn’t wear my top retainer though so there’s a small gap, but it doesn’t bother me. Except when I eat apples. The skin always gets stuck >:( My teeth could be whiter, and they’re small and square looking, but I think my smile is alright.

6: do you keep plants? No, but I want to. I just can’t keep up with that stuff. And my room faces a very shaded yard so sunlight really doesn’t come in. 

7: do you name your plants? I totally would! 8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings? I prefer to draw with pencil/colored pencil, charcoal, and I’m trying to use inking pens. I suck at painting lol. I did just get a tablet, though, and Autodesk Sketchbook. So that’s been fun to play with.  9: do you like singing/humming to yourself? Oh yeah. I would love to be able to sing really well. So far I can do a decent Marilyn Monroe impression lol. My favorite thing to sing along to is No Doubt. I love Gwen’s voice. It’s a good exercise too, all the vibrato and crazy patterns she does. I also like to sing Heart, too. My boyfriend says I sound pretty good, but I still won’t let anyone else hear me lol. Even though he’s a musician and probably knows what he’s talking about, I still don’t think it’s that great haha 10: do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach? Yes.

11: what’s an inner joke you have with your friends? Hmm I can’t think of any that don’t require a long explanation lol. Well okay, how about this. I didn’t ever really drink until I turned 21 (almost exactly a year ago, January 17!), and then when we’d hag out with friends and I’d get drunk, I’d start going up to people whispering “Hey. I’ve never been drunk before” in their ear lol. Like ever time it happened (which wasn’t all that much, I’m still not a huge drinker). It got to the point that now if I drink, everyone goes “Watch out for Robyn, she’s getting drunk for the first time!”

14: if you were to live with your best friend in an old flat in a big city, what would it look like? A mess hahahahahahahahahaaha. She has three cats and I have a dog. We both have depression, anxiety, BPD, OCD, and ADHD. (fun fact, our diagnoses are identical. We both have PTSD as well). But we love doing crafts and not cleaning our rooms, so I imagine there would be glitter, scrap fabric, pencil shavings, and wadded up paper everywhere. Yeah this one time when I was little I floated too far on a raft in Lake Erie and thought I was gonna end up in dying lol. I used to write poetry a lot. I actually was published in a national anthology of selected student poets in 9th grade. I have trouble being creative anymore, though. I like Thoreau and Walt Whitman. I painted the one wall orange, the tiny bit around the closet sage green, and the area around the door with chalkboard paint. Then I got mad one day about a year later and went and bought light green and covered the orange.
