the reasoning behind its transition into only using its shade form is because their body was just. So Fucked Up in the temple initially that it just never wanted to use a tangible body like that one again. Ever. It’s become incredibly fearful of touch / physical contact as well- anything of the like has always meant awful pain. Whether it be the betrayal of its (now abandoned) ultimate purpose to searing, blinding pain. It absolutely will not tolerate being restrained, in any circumstance. Do Not

Thinking of this, I had gotten inspired to draw what they might’ve looked like in the temple, before escaping.

The ending I was initially planning to tie this all to would’ve been the Sealed Siblings. (kind of because I didn’t want to deal with Hornet) But it doesn’t really fit the more I think about it, Hornet had had no reason to really intervene, and it wasn’t very much of a fight anyways. THK would’ve been paralyzed from the neck down. So I’ve gone with DNM adjacent.

They usually manifest a shade form with legs. Their eyesight is quite subpar, hence why Lemm’s things get shuffled around so often, and It takes a long time for them to read, too, as theyre still learning how.

Over time, they hAve grown unbearably curious. Over everything. They don’t only watch Lemm, though he is their prime target, occasionally it will observe other common bugs just living their life. They will snoop endlessly. Lemm does not have much privacy- mostly because they don’t fully understand the concept. They’re getting much better though.

Haven’t thought much about the other characters, (anyone asides from lemm, thk and ghost) yet. But I’m sleepy, so I’m going to go to bed.

Since absolutely nobody asked here’s some instances of me bullying Cyrmic

Okay actually in all seriousness, being half human and half cryptic (officially called Chimeric/Chimera) is hard work. It’s not that it’s misunderstood, but it’s so rare that there’s not enough availability to understand it. And because technically the combinations are endless, it’s hard to be able to tell what kinds of things the child would be capable of or even struggle with for that matter. Things like having to be picky about medicine because some ingredients might be less suited for cryptids than humans and vice versa.

Cyrmic inherits a good handful of quirks from his mother’s cryptic side— both good and bad. With being part plush-based cryptid, his body does consist of both human blood and plush stuffing— usually one’s more prominent in one area than the other like his hands and feet having more fluff than blood. But with the collection, the stuffing does come out staining red and a little gooey— which isn’t natural for his cryptid side.

But because his body is… sort of always in a constant battle with itself (both his humanity and cryptic elements act against each other) sometimes that can lead to some downfalls. The guy does unfortunately bare an issue with stuffing building up in all the wrong places, usually his stomach or even his lungs, and he has to brute force it from himself sometimes. It’s not a fun process by any means. He doesn’t hate that he’s chimeric of course— just some of the cons that come with his complexion.
