Some members of one of the GIW’s top-secret research facilities have made an earth-shattering discovery.

They’ve found a way to make half-ghosts.

The failure rate is high. For every subject they successfully convert, many more are left burnt-out corpses—or worse, as rabid undead that must be put down with force.

It didn’t matter. The test subjects were cheap, worthless. Their countless deaths were an acceptable sacrifice in the name of progress.

Their operative’ deaths when they begin the full plan… those will matter more. Their warped agents may be more dangerous than normal humans in combat, but legions of foot soldiers still have their place. It would be foolish to leave themself solely in the hands of ectoplasmic entities, even if they’re allies and still partially human. Recruiting and training enough replacements to recover the losses would take time.

But it will all be worth it.

Finally, they will have control of a strong enough army to bring their goals to fruition. Those inhuman wraiths will be eradicated, ensuring the safety of the real, living humans and opening up a whole new dimension of untapped resources.

I have a lot of thoughts about this.

So Jiro went to Frostheim to shake down information? At least, Tohma is implying this bit here.

Yuri suspects him of at least being in communications with them (from seeing the snowflake in his hair).

But Jiro states he was in Obscuary. (We’ll get back to this in a moment) looking at herbs.

So- next day Tohma confronts MC about this shakedown, essentially.

Rui just so happens to conveniently butt in and veer the topic. And his artifact is revealed to basically help aide him with spying (at least, being concealed in darkness). Then he tosses a box of herbs to MC to give to Jiro.

Jiro then proceeds to say “I was looking for herbal medicine?” As if he forgot that this was exactly what he told Yuri he was doing out so late.

So-

Conclusion is that either Jiro lied about being in Obscuary at all- or he seriously forgot about going.

My guess is that he lied about going at all.

And Rui covered for his ass (as we learned this chapter that Rui does basically keep an eye on everyone via his artifact).

So.

i like to think of jam as such a “would you love me in another universe” type of relationship. or what could’ve been? that’s what feels so tragic to me. like - jay could’ve been the only other somewhat close relationship tim had in his life other than brian. or if they had met under different circumstances, would it have been healthier? or even how jay felt? he said it himself he wasn’t exactly doing anything pre-mh. hmm. he felt less alone; but i can only wonder how else it could’ve gone if they were close in another scenario. or ; if they could’ve met in a less depressing part of their lives. they are like a book with the last pages ripped out!

i’ve tried to be sane looking at this ask but the same three scenarios keep rotating in my head so allow me to explain them all but you’re so right on the childhood friends pipeline. it truly is the strongest trope of them all <3

version one: those idiots get together first and they’re kind of mad that you’re so happy for and supportive of them. shouldn’t you feel some kind of resentment that they left you out? shouldn’t you be pinching izuku’s cheek and punching katsuki’s arm for them getting together without you? you’ve beat them up for much less so why are you so complacent about this? it makes them angry, it makes them confused; they didn’t start seeing each other just to spite you but they expected something stronger than this. you’re supposed to want them as much as they want each other, it’s supposed to be the three of you. what’s it going to take for you to grab them and demand that they carve out space for you too, when are you going to make them yours again

alternatively: the two of them being your guard dogs in a sense. they fight amongst themselves just as much as they’re willing to fight off others for your attention. contrary to popular belief, izuku is worse than katsuki. he’s the one that leaves dead rodents in the lockers of boys who send you valentines, leaves cryptic anonymous messages in their game chats and inboxes of coworkers who stare at you a little too long, sends bouquets of knives with just the right smear of blood to the bartender who can’t seem to get a hint. katsuki is much more in the shadows, an intimidating presence that fends off hopeful suitors—but really he’s more concerned with keeping you in, than keeping others out. katsuki’s role is to remind you how good you have it with him and izuku, to show you how nice it is to have two people who care about you this much, to get you to see that they’ve already ruined you for anybody else bc he can guarantee not a single other person could do for you what they’re willing to. or whatever 😚

more alternatives: it takes you going abroad for both katsuki and izuku to realize that the reason their last three dates have been awkward is because they’re missing you. that the reason kissing and confessing felt wrong despite having such strong feelings is because you’re not there and falling into each other is great but they wish they could catch you too. knowing those idiots they’d show up to wherever it is you are, izuku huffing and knocking on your door incessantly and when you ask him what the fuck he’s doing there his breaths are still labored when he smiles and says, “i raced kacchan here… told him i would win… ha—we, we have something to tell you—” and then loud, angry footsteps can be heard from the stairway and a very red in the face katsuki emerging to say that izuku better not be confessing without him. and the whole time you’re just blinking and figure you guys should probably not do this in the hallway

I’ve been having a rough couple of weeks (nothing bad!! just general stress…general depression…the usual…you know😔🙏) but even though I haven’t been drawing as much, I’ve been trying my hardest to respond to all the messages & comments etc here…you all are so sweet & I love talking to you🥹💓😙😙

1) the sunrise this morning!!!! It’s been the nastiest June ever…cloud and rain every single day so to finally have a nice day after a week of rain makes me so happy!! 💓💓

2) the flowers I got a few days ago🥹🥹🥹

3) all I wanted to do when I woke up today was listen to Led Zeppelin on repeat and lay in bed in a depression funk😆😆 but I dragged myself out of bed & drew Robert Plant at the beach instead💓💓💓 tbh I think the sun helps a lot with my mood!!

4) I forced my friend to come over and we played Pax Renaissance (literally the most obtuse, bizarre board game of all time but I’m obsessed with it🙏🙏)(I lost every game bahahahahahahaha)

5) I did a bit of makeup today after a week of nothing💓
