Danny, the Young Justice member snippet nr 3 GIW made a lot of mistakes and the biggest one was going against Young Justice part 1
As you can see by the title (I need better ideas, you're all welcome to share yours), this is kinda part of "Danny, the Youg Justice member" but as something I have more of actual idea about. So while I encourage people adding their stuff to other snippets, please let this one be. I will be adding to it. It's even partially written :D
unrelated snippet nr 1, unrelated snippet nr 2
"Hey guys" Danny greeted clearly winded, phasing through the wall. Whole Team turned towards him, some giving him a side eye “Sorry I’m late”
“You’re good, my dude” Wally answered, patting him on the back as soon as halfa landed, turning into his human form. They gave him a moment to catch his breath(just how fast he tried to fly there?) before grabbing their bags. Dick jumped and threw himself over the speedster's and halfa’s shoulders.
“Happy Harbour, we’re coming!” he yelled.
He fixed his grip when he caught Danny’s quick wince under the pressure as they left the headquarters. Judging by look on his face, Kaldur caught it too.
“So what’s on the agenda?”
“There is an amusement park in city, so we’re going to enjoy our free time there” M’gann explained with excited smile “I can’t wait to see it, I heard it’s fun”
Artemis nodded with a grin.
“I bet I can win more plushies than all of you. No powers,” she demanded after a moment, slamming her hand n a random tree for better dramatic effect.
“Stakes?” he asked, competitive like always. While blonde shared her idea of ‘no locker room duties for a month’, Danny explained all the questions M’gann asked about what even bet was and what stakes meant. Dick was sure she knew the answers to all of them but he didn’t say anything. He was trained well enough to catch Conner listening intently, despite his clear effort to hide it.
It turned into a whole Team competition.
It was going to be an aster.
***
M’gann was having a blast. Everyone already had two to four plushies, stomach full of unhealthy food and manageable nausea from the roller coaster. Wally and Danny were throwing popcorn to each other's mouths, Robin challenged Conner and Artemis to the next game. It really was fun just like she was told!
It was much less fun when literal blast shot a few feets away from them. Ground where it hit was burned. Halfa squealed, projecting a strong wave of distress. Without second thought he threw his hood on and changed his posture, frantically looking for a hiding spot.
Few children started crying, their families scrambling to get away before attackers started shooting again and hurt them. Workers, already used to working in less than ideal circumstances, quickly, but without panic warranted by recognised villains or outright invasion, shut down reinforced blinds and probably walked out to inform someone. At least they didn’t have to worry about potential civilian casualties.
“Do you know who they are?” M’gann asked, quickly establishing the Mindlink.
“Don’t worry about it” he answered, putting on crazy big sunglasses that Wally won some time before.
“My dude, we just got shot at. We have every right to worry”
“Calm down, Wally. I got shot at, you’re just close by. I’ll handle it” With a ruffle of his hair and a piece of popcorn thrown in his mouth,he turned around, just moment after the next blast almost caught his arm. He plastered a smile on his face.
“Hey, I’ve seen guns like these in laser tag! But I’ve never found them cheap enough to get without selling my kidney!” he yelled enthusiastically.
When the rest of them turned around, M’gann saw ten people in sunglasses and pristine white, holding guns straight from the mad scientist’s lab. THey stood still, projecting surprise bordering on shock. She could also feel hunter's happiness underneath it, intense enough that she considered breaking the ‘don’t mess with people’s brains’ rule. As a treat.
“Don’t worry guys, they won’t harm you. Act like you  don’t believe you’re in danger. Like they're a bunch of LARPers or something” It was easier said than done, especially when Danny, who nearly always underestimated the danger, was so terrified.
“Who are they?!”
“Wally throw me a bit of popcorn, please” Halfa asked, ignoring Artemis almost yelling in their minds. In turn, he was ignored by the speedster. Three of the men turned to check something on weird sort of scanner. Danny's false smile went from cheerful to embarrassed.
“Dang me and my poor communication skills” he said, loud enough for men to hear but not enough to sound like he was talking to them, before asking louder “I meant to ask, where have you brought it and how much does it cost?”
This seemed to actually shake men out of their shock. They got furious.
“You won't trick us this time, ghost scum” one of the guys with a scanner snarled. Danny pursed his lips in childish gesture of displeasure.
“Rude much” he muttered as if he wasn’t shining with terror like a lighthouse. Robin perked up as if something got him curious.
“Wait, ghost? What do–”
“What are you cosplaying?” Artemis blurted out. Men got visibly angry but Danny smirked.
“Don't antagonize them,” Kaldur commended.
“If shit goes south I'll get you out of there, half a second flat” Wally offered.
“Thanks dude. Good job Artemis, they hate to be treated like a joke they are” halfa praised but out loud asking:
“Ghostbusters? No, they had different uniforms. But who else got a thing for ghosts?”
“Quit joking around, we caught you Phantom! You ran far from Amity Park but-”
“Who is Phantom?” Robin interrupted rudely (they deserved to be rude to them).
“Where is Amity Park, Utah? Cali?”  Conner asked, adding fuel to the fire of chaos with barely contained glee. He liked messing with anyone even slightly resembling Kadmus staff and these guys marked almost all of the boxes.
“Illinois” provided chubby man who looked and felt like he didn't want to be there almost as much as they teens did. Danny relaxed slightly.
“Agent W you have no clearance to share this information“
“You were in Illinois and didn't tell me, Tommy?” M’gann finally spoke, jokingly punching his arm.
“I wasn't, I swear! I've never set a foot outside of this state in my life!”
“Quit messing around, you freak!!!” the guy, with the biggest ego and probably the leader, screamed.
“Can I please mess their heads up?”  M’gann asked, pushing hope through Mindlink as hard as she could.
“Again, rude. What did I even do to deserve that?”
“Like you–”
“Operative K, I think they really don't know anything “ Agent W, the nicest out of the batch, interrupted “Maybe it left some ectoplasm on this boy to throw us off?”
“They called you it, Danny” Conner seethed, looking like only Kaldur’s hand on his shoulder was stopping him from punching all of them straight to the sun. M’gann was already reaching for their minds.
“We need to run a scan to be sure. Come here boy”
“Now, who are you?!” Robin got defensive, sliding to shield Danny from asiliants. Conner and Artemis joined him, so clearly furious that M’gann almost retreated from Mindlink. She wasn’t any calmer, it just felt overwhelming to be backed up by five other people.
“Its classified”
Kaldur took a photo with an obnoxiously loud sound effect. Wally appeared right behind Danny, ready to evacuate him. Artemis barely kept herself from tackling the nearest ‘agent’ to the ground.
“What are you doing, boy?” Operative K splurted, absolutely flabbergasted.
“Calling the police”
“Why?”
“Robin, throw some laws, please”
“Oh, that’s easy,” the boy jumped in gleefully “You assaulted our friend and refused to state why you would have credentials to do so or even who are you. You carry modified weaponry openly in public and I doubt you have a permit, carelessly use it  against minors, endangering innocent bystanders while we’re at it. You disturb public peace. I think that’s enough to get you arrested. Wait you know what, call ‘Supervillain emergency hotline’ instead, this is serious attack”
“Right ahead of you, already calling them”
It wasn’t that big of a problem even if someone tried to qualify this as spam. Young Justice Team was first to respond to all threats in Happy Harbour anyway.
Danny let out a low ‘uuuu’ with a smirk. Someone powered up a gun. Wally slightly raised halfa of the ground, ready to bolt.
“It’s okay young man,” the nice agent started, raising his hands in a placating gesture “We’re searching for a dangerous supernatural entity and may have overreacted. In our defense, Phantom is known to be tricky and we wouldn’t be surprised if it used human disguise to hide from us. Your friend gives off the same type of energy like what we use to track it so we assumed they’re the same. We’re sorry”
“Agent W you don’t have clearance to disclose that to-”
“Operative K, after the last few incidents we have to be more throughout before jumping to assumptions. Agent Gamma wouldn’t be pleased if your temper caused the next scandal,” Agent W look at them again, with a forced ‘warm’ smile “We’re really sorry for bothering you. We have reasons to believe Phantom is somewhere around but don’t worry about it, we will be on the lookout. If you see it, please contact us and we will take care of it” M’gann grabbed the ‘WANTED’ poster from man’s outstretched hand. She barely restrained herself from doing something irresponsible, like turning every man in white into a brainless vegetable.
“Later M'gann”
“But Robin…” she whined before sending a small laugh so they knew she wasn’t serious. She knew that Conner and Danny were anxious about this use of her powers.
Agent’s left and everyone relaxed. Wally put Danny back down and leaned back, jokingly rolling back his arms as if he got tired. Halfa stopped with a loud thump to sit on the ground. He was paler than usual.
Artemis shouted, alarmed.
“That was way too close” he started, aiming for a cheerful tone but missing by a mile “I’m fine, just need a moment to cool down. Sorry for that, guys. I thought I lost them over Ohio”
“That’s fine, personally I don’t care, we knew better than to expect a whole day without something going wrong, but who were they?” Wally asked, already back to eating popcorn.
Danny sighed, so deeply M’gann felt it in her bones even though she didn’t try to read him.
“I think this is the talk we should have in the Mountain”

Hi I wanted to request Felix and reader getting into a huge fight over rumors of him and India hooking up. Lots of angst that leads to fluff😭 thank youuuu
The party - f.c
hello honeys! first Felix imagine eeek. FELIX DOES NOT DIE AT THE PARTY IN THIS FIC! i’m too excited. i hope you like how i interpreted your request🫶🏼 anyways, i hope you enjoy this imagine! (lmk if i should make a taglist for Felix!)
Tumblr media
“Venetia, have you seen Felix? i cannot find him anywhere” you had been looking for Felix everywhere. you had left his side for two seconds to get a drink and when you came back he was no where to be found.
“i saw him with Ollie and i think her name is India? find Ollie, he will know where he is” Venetia said as she scanned the room to see if she could see her brother. you furrowed your brows, India was here? Felix hadn’t told you India was coming.
in the two summers you had grown incredibly close with Venetia, she was the sweetest girl and you were lucky that she was your boyfriends sister. “i’ll keep looking but if you see him, please tell him i’m looking for him” Venetia nodded “of course, don’t worry about India. i didn’t know she was coming either. but good luck okay?” she winked.
the house was huge, one of the biggest houses you’d ever seen and finding him would be nearly impossible without some sort of indication as to where Felix was. you went into the garden eyes darting in every direction seeing if you could see the tall boy anywhere but it was no use, it was like he completely vanished.
“y/n darling, are you okay?” you heard Elspeth say as you huffed, you turned to look at her and nodded slightly. “yeah i’m okay, i’m just looking for Felix is all” she smiled “he couldn’t of gone too far, don’t worry about him. i saw him with Ollie and some girl, maybe check the library? or the maze?” you nodded and thanked her as you started making your way toward the maze.
the maze was where you and Felix liked to go when you wanted some alone time. even though you both loved spending time with his family, sometimes the two of you just wanted to be alone and the maze was the perfect place for the.
as you started making your way through the maze you saw Oliver walking back out. “Ollie thank god, have you seen Felix? i’ve been looking for him everywhere” he jumped when he saw you “y/n, what are you doing here?” his thick accent filling the quiet maze.
“Elspeth told me you’d be in here and she said guy were with Felix. is he down here-” you started to walk down the maze but Oliver quickly stopped you. “y/n you don’t want to go down there” your heart started pounding.
“why?” you looked at him and by the look on your face you knew something was happening. “he invited India here. me and Felix had a fight and the two of them came in here. when i came here to apologise the two of them were hooking up. i’m so sorry”
you felt your eyes fill with tears and your heart dropped. Felix was cheating on you? you knew the two of them had some sort of history before you and Felix got together but that was two years ago. you felt your chin quiver and a few tears slip down your face. just as you were about to walk away Felix and India came round the corner.
Felix saw you and the smile on his face dropped when he saw your face. you had tears rolling down your cheeks, he quickly started making his way toward you but you just shook your head and started walking out of the maze.
“y/n sweetheart what’s the matter?” he called out but it was too late, you’d ran off. Felix was confused, Oliver had been told by his mum that he could invite anyone he wanted so he invited India and a few other girls from college.
he left India standing there to chase after you, he was still utterly confused as to why you were crying. he brushed past Oliver who felt like he had succeeded, he had tricked you into believing that Felix had cheated on you which would no doubt lead to the two of you breaking up which mean Oliver could have Felix all to himself.
he saw you running into the house, brushing past the hundreds of people which filled practically the whole house. Venetia saw you crying and was confused, what could have happened in that short amount of time.
Felix lost you in the crowds of people but spotted his sister and briskly walked toward her. “Venetia, have you seen y/n? she was crying and i need to make sure she’s okay” she frowned “i think she went to your bedroom but i’m not too sure, she went in that direction” by the time she had finished her sentence he was already gone, running off to his bedroom to find you.
he ran up the stairs to his bedroom and put his ear to the door, he could hear your small sobs and his heat broke. he knocked on the door and walked in, seeing you sat on his bed with your suitcase half packed with your belongings. “what’s the matter? why are you packing your stuff?” he frowned.
“i don’t know Felix, why don’t you tell me?” his frown deepened. “don’t act so innocent okay? i know everything. and it’s a shitty move that you brought her here. you have no idea how embarrassing this is” he could control the small smile that formed on his face as he saw your jealousy peak through. he thought maybe you were jealous that India was here, not that he was cheating on you with her.
“what? are you a little jealous?” he smirked “i can’t believe you’re making a joke about this right now. i’m going home” his face fell. he made his way over to you “what happened, i’m sorry for whatever i did” he pouted but you scoffed and rolled your eyes “yeah well i don’t think sorry is gonna cut it this time Felix”
“okay i seriously have no idea what you are on about. why are you so upset” he tried to sit next to you but you scooted away from him. a whole batch of fresh tears filled your eyes, your head fell into your hands as you tried to hide how hurt you were. “come on baby, talk to me” he placed his hand on your leg and stroked it gently.
“don’t call me that, not after what you did” you pushed his hand away from you as a few tears fell. “what did i do? you’re confusing me” you looked at him with bloodshot eyes “you slept with India.” he looked at you and burst out laughing “what?” you wiped your tear stained cheeks which probably had mascara all over them.
“Oliver told me that you invited India here and that you two slept together. this isn’t funny Felix, i’m serious. i’m going home tomorrow” you sniffled and he shook his head “Oliver told you that? and you believed him?” you shrugged “well, the two of you looked very friendly when you came walking around the corner so yeah i believed it”
“that is the silliest thing i’ve ever heard. i would never ever do that to you.” he placed his hand on your cheeks and placed a delicate kiss on your lips. “i’m too in love with you to cheat on you” he kissed you again.
“why did Oliver say that? he said that you invited India and that he went into the maze to find you to apologise because you two argued and then he said that you two were having sex” Felix frowned “what? having sex in the maze? no that’s not what happened at all” he shook his head.
“Oliver invited India and he got mad because she rejected him, we argued because i told him to not invite her and he did it anyway. i knew her being there would upset you. i was only being nice to her because her friends left her” he explained, his hands falling from your cheeks.
“i’m sorry i was so mean to you” he shook his head “im sorry that i laughed at you, i honestly thought it was just because you were jealous i didn’t realise Oliver told you that. ill speak to my parents, see if they can get rid of him early” he smiled.
“you know i love you, don’t you?” his eyes started into yours, he hated that you were hurting. you nodded “i love you too” he kissed you passionately.

Never the first choice
Pairing: Lando Norris x bf!reader
Warnings: angst, crying, fighting
Summary: Y/n is never Lando’s first choice.
Tumblr media
I sat at the restaurant table, trying to focus on the conversation. The guy in front of me was kind, funny, and interesting—everything someone could want on a date. But my mind was elsewhere. Every time he smiled, I imagined someone else's smile. When he spoke, it was as if I was waiting for someone else's voice to fill the silence.
"Are you okay?" he asked, noticing my distraction.
I forced a smile. "Yes, I'm fine. Sorry, I'm just a little tired."
He nodded, accepting my excuse without question. But the truth was much more complicated. Lando was always somewhere in the back of my mind, whether he was at a McLaren practice, at a Grand Prix, or even when I was on dates like this. I hated myself for it. I hated myself for not being able to move on, for still being stuck on someone who didn’t have the courage to choose me.
I was about to ask for the check, determined to end the date before my heart got even more tangled, when I saw him. Lando walked into the restaurant, his eyes immediately finding mine, as if he had some kind of radar that always guided him to me.
"Y/n?" my date called my attention, realizing that I was staring at something—or someone—behind him.
"Sorry, I just need a minute," I murmured, already standing up. I didn’t know what he was doing here, but I knew nothing good could come of it.
I walked over to Lando, meeting him near the entrance, with an expression I knew all too well—determination mixed with possessiveness.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered, trying to stay calm.
"I... I needed to talk to you," he replied, his voice tense.
"Now? In the middle of my date?" I could already feel my patience running thin. Lando always showed up at the most inconvenient times, as if he knew exactly when I was about to move on.
"Yes, now," he insisted, stepping closer to me. "This guy isn’t right for you."
That was the last straw. "You cannot be serious. You crash my date to tell me this guy isn’t right for me? And who are you to decide that, Lando?"
Before he could respond, my date approached, a look of confusion on his face. "Is everything okay here?"
I wanted to scream, to apologize to him, but all I could do was shake my head.
"I... I’m leaving." Lando stepped closer to me, but I raised my hand, signaling him to stop. "No. Don’t touch me."
The other guy—who didn’t matter much to me anymore, since my heart was focused on Lando—shook his head in resignation. "I guess I’ll leave you two to talk."
I watched him walk away, a mix of anger and disappointment washing over me. Lando just stood there, and I didn’t know if I wanted to hug him or push him away. In the end, I chose the latter.
"You’re unbelievable," I began, my voice trembling with anger. "If you really wanted to be with me, you wouldn’t have gone on a date two weeks ago. Remember that date, Lando? The one you thought I didn’t know about?"
He opened his mouth to respond, but I wasn’t willing to listen.
"So you have no right to ruin my date, just because you’re not man enough to ask me out."
I could see the surprise in his eyes, as if he didn’t expect me to know. But the truth is, ever since I met Lando, I’ve always known when he was getting close to other people. He was unpredictable, and that was one of his charms—and one of his biggest flaws.
"Y/n, it’s not like that..." he started, but I raised my hands, refusing to hear.
"No, Lando, it’s exactly like that. It always has been. And it always will be, right? I’m only your first choice when no one better comes along." I felt the tears start to fall, but I continued, the pain turning into an unexpected strength. "I won’t be your second choice, Lando. I won’t be the person you always turn to when you need to get your dick wet.”
He tried to grab my arm, but I pulled away.
"Don’t touch me. That’s enough, im not gonna deal with this forever."
I turned, grabbed my bag, and walked away from him. The sound of my heels echoed in the restaurant, and the feeling of relief mixed with a deep sadness. The sound of laughter and conversations around us seemed so distant, as if I was in a completely different universe, where all that mattered was the pain in my chest.
When I reached the door, I stopped for a second, hoping he would come after me, say something that would change everything. But all I heard was silence.
I stepped out into the street, the cool night air hitting my face. Finally, the tears I had been holding back fell, and I allowed myself to cry. Cry for me, cry for Lando, cry for the love I never managed to have.
But as the tears fell, a firm decision began to form within me. I was tired of waiting, tired of being the second choice. Lando might not know what he wanted, but I did. I knew I deserved more, deserved someone who would choose me without hesitation, without doubts.
And above all, I knew that no matter how much I loved him, it wasn’t worth it if I always ended up feeling like this—alone, broken, and in second place. I deserved more. And in that moment, I decided I was going to find it, even if it meant leaving Lando behind.

nightmares no more
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: yoon jeonghan x reader
genre: fluff, ceo au
w/c: 0.8k
summary: everyone wants yoon jeonghan and you were lucky enough to score him.
warnings: none
a/n: this right here is my man, love of my life, aaaaa i love him so much, also disclaimer this post used to be under my old url httphannie <3
Tumblr media
It was already well past midnight and you were still sitting at your desk, paperwork laid out in front of you. To anyone it would look like an uncoordinated mess but you had everything in the right place. There were the legal documents that you were settling for the contract with another company and there were the marriage plans over there. Your bulletin board behind you was pinned with various arrays of dresses and contracts.
You rubbed your eyes, tired from the work. If you went to sleep now you wouldn't have the preparations for tomorrow's meeting ready, not to mention you had to go see the venue for the wedding with Jeonghan. Your week had been busy and you hadn’t gotten a good night's sleep in what seemed like forever.
Being the secretary of the CEO of the biggest company in the country and trying to balance planning your wedding was hard. You were constantly rushing everywhere; trying to get everything perfect. Not to mention the nightmares you had been getting. It was a big enough scandal when the press found out you were dating your boss but now they knew you were engaged to him.
Yoon Jeonghan was one of the most sought out bachelors in the country and even when the both of you had announced your relationship, there were still some delusional girls who would try to hurt you. Every night you woke up in a cold sweat, the same image of not being able to breathe and hands grabbing you from every angle haunted your mind. That was partly the reason why you were still up working.
There was a knock on the door and Jeonghan popped his head around. “I thought I told you to take a break.” You rushed to him, embracing him tightly, inhaling his comforting scent. “I missed you too, my love.”
It was as if the barriers that were protecting you fell apart and you felt tears start rolling down your eyes. You couldn’t stop them from falling while you hiccuped continuously. Jeonghan hugged you tighter, running his fingers through your hair, untangling the kinks.
“Why’re you crying? You're making your beautiful face look sad.” He pressed a kiss on your forehead as he stared at your glassy eyes.
“I don’t know.” You sniffled. “It’s just that I’ve got the contracts to prepare and then we have the wedding, not to mention all the nightmares I’ve been having. I just feel like I can’t do anything, you’re the one handling all those people, Hannie.”
Your fiance frowned, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “That’s not true. Who’s been handling all these business papers, even though I told them not to worry, and who’s been holding this wedding on their shoulders?” Jeonghan smiles. “There’s so much light in you that it blinds me sometimes. You’re a wonderful person and I love you, so it doesn’t matter what people think. Much less people who don’t even know you.”
“Why are you like this?” Your cheeks were still stained with tears but your lips were curled into a small smile.
“Like what?” Jeonghan gave you a cheeky grin, he blinked innocently up at you. “I’m just telling the truth. You stole my heart the moment I saw you.” He gasped dramatically, clutching his chest, before giving you a wink.
You giggled, pulling him in for a kiss. It was sweet when your lips touched, both of you had been so busy that it had been so long since you shared such an intimate moment. His lips were warm and you couldn’t help but feel at ease when he was with you.
Jeonghan picked you up suddenly which made you squeal. He didn’t let you say anything, carrying you out of your office and into your shared bedroom. He threw you down on the bed, arms pinning you both sides. A second of silence ticks by. You stared lovingly at your fiance before tugging him down onto you.
“Are you trying to seduce me, Yoon Jeonghan?”
“And what if I am, Y/n? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for my charms already.” His tongue flicked over his bottom lip. You didn’t get to reply before a yawn escaped your mouth, your cheeks flushed and you diverted your eyes.
Jeonghan grinned and he leant down so his forehead was touching yours. He let out a light laugh. “Sleep, my love. I’ll keep the nightmares away.”
You knew you didn’t have a choice by the way he was looking at you, it was the same way he’d stare down his partners to get a good deal out of them. Reluctantly, you nodded, letting him tuck you in and kiss you goodnight.
“Take two weeks off, the company can survive without you 24/7.” Jeonghan placed a finger against your lips, knowing you were going to start protesting. “That isn’t a question, you’re far too stressed, just let me handle things.”
“But Hannie-”
“No.” He placed his hand on your cheek, the warmth spreading through his palm and across your face. “From now on, you’re not allowed in that office, you leave all the work to me. I’m the CEO for a reason Y/n. Promise?”
You sighed, knowing it was no use to try and protest. “Promise.”
Jeonghan smiled, placing a kiss on your cheek. “Sleep well, my love.”

Running to You
Word count: 725
Pairing: Lando Norris x reader
Summary: In the midst of a bustling paddock, Y/n, Lando’s biggest supporter, cheers him on with boundless pride, proving that to her, he’s already a champion—no matter the results.
______________________________________________________________
When Lando’s lap time solidified on the board, Y/n’s heart practically exploded with pride. She didn’t care that this was just qualifying — every single session felt monumental because she saw the effort he put in every day. With a laugh that was half a cry, she sprinted toward him, pushing through the paddock crowd until she was within arm’s reach.
“Lando!” she shouted, her voice trembling with excitement. He turned at the sound, and his face softened immediately as he saw her coming, a grin spreading across his face. Y/n didn’t slow down; she flung herself into his arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck as he caught her effortlessly, pulling her close with a warm laugh.
“Oh my God, Lando, you were amazing!” she cried, her voice full of tears as she clung to him. “I’m so, so proud of you.”
He chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead as he cradled her against him. “Hey, it’s just quali, love,” he murmured softly, but his eyes shone with happiness.
“To me, it’s everything,” she replied, pulling back just enough to look into his eyes. Her hands gently cupped his face, and she spoke so only he could hear. “You’re my champion, Lando. Every single lap, every single session, you give your all, and it’s incredible. I don’t need a title to know how amazing you are.”
He gazed at her, speechless for a moment, his eyes glistening with the emotion he didn’t often let himself show. “You make all of this worth it, you know,” he whispered, his voice rough. “Having you here… it’s like having my own little victory every day.”
Y/n’s eyes filled with happy tears, and she was about to reply when she heard a familiar voice call out, breaking into their little bubble.
“Oi, Lando, is your girlfriend crying for you or for your time?” George Russell teased, grinning from a few feet away, arms crossed as he watched them. Around him, a few other drivers had started to gather, each one of them wearing that familiar, playful grin that made Y/n roll her eyes.
She turned, standing a bit taller as she faced them, holding tightly onto Lando’s hand. “Oh, please,” she called out, waving them off. “As if any of you could pull off a lap like that!”
Pierre Gasly chuckled, feigning hurt as he nudged George. “Hey, I put in a pretty decent lap myself!”
“Sure, Pierre, but where’s your biggest fan?” Y/n teased right back, raising an eyebrow. “Unless you’ve got someone who’d sprint across the paddock to scream for you?”
The drivers all laughed, exchanging looks with each other, but Y/n could tell they knew they’d lost this one. Yuki Tsunoda raised his hands in mock surrender, grinning. “Alright, alright. We get it. Lando’s got a personal cheerleader, and the rest of us just have to live with that.”
Y/n grinned, crossing her arms as she leaned into Lando, who was laughing, his face red with both pride and embarrassment. “Exactly,” she replied with a smirk. “And I’ll be cheering louder than any of you guys can handle, so get used to it.”
Carlos Sainz gave a playful shrug, laughing. “Guess we know who’s winning the fan section today.”
As the drivers moved on, still chuckling and throwing each other good-natured teasing glances, Y/n turned back to Lando, feeling the world around them melt away again. She looked up at him, her hands moving to rest on his chest as she took a breath, her smile softening. “They can tease all they want,” she murmured. “But no one will ever understand how proud I am of you.”
He placed his hand over hers, his gaze tender as he looked down at her. “I don’t think I’ll ever understand how I got so lucky,” he whispered, his voice breaking slightly. “I just know that having you here… it makes me feel like I’ve already won.”
Y/n felt her cheeks heat up, and she bit her lip to keep her emotions in check. “Well, get used to it,” she replied softly, brushing a hand across his cheek. “I’m always going to be here, cheering for you. In every race, every qualifying, every single lap… you’re my champion, Lando.”
“Good,” he whispered, a soft smile playing on his lips. “Because I’m never letting you go.”

FORGET ABOUT HIM - AZZI FUDD

“y/n?” said Azzi as she let herself into your apartment looking at the state of it she knew it was a bad breakup. I mean you guys had been dating for three almost four years and to find out he was cheating on you with your sister was enough to break you, you’d expected that from him considering how he always flirted with other girls, but from your sister? it was safe to say you felt betrayed.
“Hey babe, how are you doing?” she said as she peaked her head into your bedroom, “I feel like shit, I’ve been crying for way too long” you whispered your voice hoarse from the lack of water and those late nights you’ve spent sobbing. “I got an idea, how about we go out tonight? There’s this party happening and I want you there plus this would be a great distraction for you!” she said with a hopeful smile, you thought about it but Azzi was right you did need to get out “Okay I’ll go” you said smiling at the girl in front of you having the biggest smile on her face.
-
The loud music and the alcohol enlightened something in you. you were accepting drinks left and right not a care in the world. You were in the middle of downing a shot when Azzi tapped your shoulder trying to get your attention “Hey, it’s getting late we should start heading back do you want to spend the night at my house?” she said looking into your eyes, “yea this party is boring anyway.” you slurred stumbling across the floor towards the exit of the house azzi a few steps behind.
the chilly storrs air was refreshing from the stuffy air inside the house, “give me your keys” said azzi as she approached you “why?” you hiccuped pulling your keys closer to you “because you’re more wasted than me and i would love to get home in one piece thank you” she explained as she got closer reaching for your keys.
her breath fanning against your skin, you could practically feel her warmth radiating off her body. your eyes flickered down towards her lips, your thoughts suddenly shifting into something else you’ve never thought of before about your best friend. without thinking you pulled her towards you into a passionate kiss. she pulled away her expression unreadable “fuck, uh i’m sorry i don’t know what got into m-” before you could finish your sentence she had pulled you into a kiss, this time more desirable and desperate.
“how about we continue this somewhere more private?” azzi whispered in between kisses all you could do was nod your head before you both got into the car.
𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻𖢻
a/n: i had this in my drafts for months and decided to finish it and post it so it’s half ass hope yall like it 🙏🏽

Hi hi! Can I request an angsty/fluff piece with Jason? Maybe he hasn't told her that he's Red Hood yet, and they want to tell him that she loves him for the first time, but with his constant disappearances at night they're thinking that he's starting to get tired of them?
Tumblr media
This went a little too long when I decided to stop, so I might need to split this into two parts if needs be 🦦
‘Hey honey,’ you greeted Jason with a peck to the cheek, pulling away smiling brightly. ‘Are you all ready for movie night tonight? I’ve already got a couple films set up and ready to go and I promise none of them will make you cry like last time.’
Jason grimaced. Shit, he knew that something was happening tonight but couldn’t remember what and -like a dumbass- had agreed to going out on a patrol with Dick and Damian later on. ‘Oh, I’m so sorry chipmunk I can’t do movie night tonight. Can we do it next week?’ Jason hated how he was the one who made the smile upon your face disappear as quickly as it came, he hated how he was the reason why the excitement left your eyes, only to be replaced by a look of poorly concealed disappointment.
Jason hated how it seemed as of late that his commitment to being a vigilante had been the leading cause of your unhappiness. While he was out clearing Gotham almost every night, you were left in your shared apartment, left to sleep alone in a bed that was designed for two people and ponder how things could’ve gotten to this stage; wondering whether this was a relationship worth being in after all.
You sighed, trying to be understanding but how could you when this was the third time Jason had bailed on you this week. It didn’t seem fair to keep trying at this point when it seems as though you’re the only one who is actively trying to make time for each other. You had planned to tell Jason you loved him tonight but all that was thrown into the bin, all because he apparently forgot all about it. ‘It’s fine Jason, I’m sure whatever you have going on is inherently more important.’ You said, feeling more hurt than anything as you clenched your jaw to stop yourself from saying something you’ll inevitably regret.
‘I’ll make it up to you-‘
‘Would you like to know how many times you claimed that you’ll make it up to me but never have?’ You asked Jason rhetorically and watched his face further become into one of guilt. ‘Three. Times.’ You told him, holding up three fingers. ‘Once is excusable, but three times Jason. I thought you were over making false promises, much like how I’d trick myself into thinking that you would actually like to spend time with me in our own apartment, but it seems like I was wrong as per usual.’ You scoffed.
Jason tried to reach out for your hand to console you, but you immediately took it away before he could and put a good deal of distance between the two of you to show that you were in need of comfort but not from him. ‘Y/n, I’m sorry-‘
‘Don’t bother. Just make sure to have your keys on you before you leave because I wont stay up for you anymore.’ Was all you said before leaving the room to go into your room, where you’d stay until he left for the night doing god knows what. His disappearing act didn’t bother you at first but when it become more frequent and grew more obstructive when you wanted to spend the night with him, a pit in your stomach grew and it had been growing ever since followed by thoughts that doubted Jason’s loyalty to you.
Were you boring him but he didn’t have the heart to tell you? Is that why he’s been disappearing almost every night or so? Just so he could meet up with someone else behind your back and shit talk you? If that was the case then he could stay out for all you cared, you’ve given him your heart but it didn’t seem as though he couldn’t bring himself to even fake in giving a shit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile Jason felt like the biggest dickhead ever. He could tell that you were reaching the end of your rope with him and he wasn’t so sure that he could go back to living by himself if you were to ever leave him, he could try but it wouldn’t be the same when you were the reason his apartment felt like an apartment at all. And yet he has no one else to blame for this but himself.
He was the reason you could’ve have a simple date night at home.
He was the reason for your frequent disappointment.
He was the reason you no longer felt loved by him but that just wasn’t true. Jason loved you so much it physically hurt and scared the poor man of what he was willing to do for you. Jason’s love for you burned him in the most delicious way imaginable, he was left wanting for more, hooked on your love as though it was an easily addictive drug sweeping the streets of Gotham. However even Jason couldn’t ignore the wedge between him and you, a wedge that only seemed to get worse the more Jason bailed on you for his vigilante business.
As he was sulking in the fact that this might be the end of your relationship, Jason got a text from Dick asking where he was and all Jason could think of whilst grabbing his keys and leaving the apartment, was how he was going to make up for every night that you felt as though you were abandoned by him; and if anyone who knew Jason best knew he was anything but a quitter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Movie night was depressing as shit when you were having it all by yourself as a way to cope with the fact that you might not be enough to keep Jason interested.
You were bundled up in bed, hugging your childhood plushie tightly against your chest as you watched a movie adaptation to one of Jason’s most favoured book out of Jane Austen‘s body of work. Hell most of the movies you’ve picked out were based on Jason’s favourite author but you weren’t enjoying it as you would if he was beside you, muttering the lines alongside the characters under his breath as he held you against his chest as though you were something precious; even going so far at to using the excuse that when a kissing scene happens you should be kissing too for a more immersive experience.
He was such a dork but he was your dork and now it feels as though he didn’t want to be called yours anymore.
You didn’t know what it was that you did for him to get bored of you but it hurt like a motherfucker and the more you thought about it the more your eyes began to well up with unshed tears. ‘What am I doing wrong snuffles?’ You brought your plushie to face you with its beady button eyes. ‘Am I really that much of a bore that he can’t bring himself to just end it? What does he get out of dragging me along? Is this some sick joke to him?’ You asked and you asked but got no response, then again that’s what you get when trying to seek answers from a weighted plushie.
‘Who am I kidding.’ You uttered defeatedly as you put down your plushie, switched off the tv after seeing that there was no point in having it on in the first place, and stared up at the ceiling as you tried to will sleep to hurry up and claim you. ‘Did you know that I was planning on telling him that I loved him?’ You asked aloud for no one in particular, smiling weakly as you wiped your eyes. ‘How stupid was it of me to think that we’d ever last. He’s obviously found someone else who doesn’t bore him as easily as I do…so why should I stay?’ You felt yourself wanting to cry again but you were too tired to give your body what it wants and tried to ignore the lump in your throat by forcing your eyes shut.

Daddy Tag Team
A Y/N X Damian Priest Fluff Fanfiction
Tumblr media
Summary: Damian Priest tackles his biggest challenge yet – caring for his daughter, Luna, while Y/N is away. Through diaper changes and sleepless nights, Damian discovers that being a dad is the most rewarding match of them all.
Damian Priest stood in the doorway of their home, Luna cradled in his strong arms, as Y/N zipped up her suitcase one last time. The look on her face was a mix of determination and unease. This was her first time leaving Damian alone with their baby girl for 2 days, and though she trusted him completely, there was still that lingering doubt.
"You sure you’re going to be okay?" Y/N asked, her voice laced with concern as she straightened up, her eyes flicking between Damian and Luna.
Damian chuckled, his deep voice full of reassurance. "Babe, I’ve faced steel cages, ladders, and even Gunther. I think I can handle our little princesa for a few days."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. “You do realize she’s teething, right? And she’s been extra fussy these past few days.”
Damian nodded, shifting Luna to his other arm. “We’ve got this, haven’t we, princesa?” he cooed at his daughter, who responded by drooling on his shirt.
Y/N tried to smile, but the worry lines on her forehead didn’t quite smooth out. "I know, I know… it’s just, you’ve never been alone with her for this long before. If you need anything, just—"
"—call you," Damian finished for her, leaning in to press a kiss on her lips. "I’ve got this, Y/N. “Go, save the world or whatever it is you do,” Damian teased. “We’ll be here when you get back. Hopefully, with the house still standing.”
Y/N laughed softly, still hesitant, but she knew she had to trust Damian. He was her rock, after all. She turned her attention to Luna, who was happily tugging at Damian’s long hair with a tight grip, her tiny face full of curiosity.
"Mama’s gonna miss you, sweet girl," Y/N cooed, leaning in to kiss Luna’s chubby cheek. Luna gurgled in response, her big eyes lighting up as she reached for her mother’s face.
Y/N reluctantly pulled away, feeling the sting of leaving her baby, but knowing that her work demanded it. As she slid into the waiting Uber, she looked back at Damian and Luna, both waving at her from the doorway. She forced herself to smile and gave them a little wave back before the car pulled away.
As soon as the door clicked shut, Luna’s face scrunched up, and her lower lip began to quiver. Damian looked down at her, already feeling a pang of worry. “Uh-oh. No need to cry, sweetheart. Daddy’s here.”
The lip quiver quickly escalated into a full-blown wail. Damian’s eyes widened. “Okay, okay, we can handle this.” He began to pace the room, gently bouncing her in his arms like he’d seen Y/N do countless times before. “You’re okay, Luna. We’re just going to have some fun today, right? Just Daddy and his little girl.”
After a few more laps around the living room, Luna finally calmed down, her big brown eyes staring up at Damian as if to say, I’m watching you, Dad. Damian took a deep breath. “Alright, first things first—diaper change.”
What should have been a simple task turned into a comedy of errors. Damian laid Luna on the changing table and began to undo her onesie, but the tiny snaps on the fabric seemed to defy him at every turn. “Come on, it’s just a snap,” he muttered, finally getting it open only for Luna to kick her legs and send a tiny sock flying across the room.
“Alright, you’re feisty today, huh?” Damian said with a laugh, retrieving the sock and placing it back on her foot. But the real challenge began when he opened the diaper. “Oh, man. How does something so small make such a big mess?”
He carefully wiped her clean, trying to keep everything under control, but Luna was in no mood to cooperate. She wriggled and squirmed, nearly kicking the wipes out of his hand. When it came time to put the fresh diaper on, Damian struggled to keep her still. The result was a slightly crooked diaper, but after a few attempts to adjust it, he decided it was good enough. “There we go, all clean. Let’s see your mom do better than that,” he joked, holding her up proudly.
The rest of the morning went by in a blur of tiny challenges. Feeding time was a mix of sweet moments and sticky chaos. Damian thought he had the bottle’s temperature just right, but when he went to test it, he ended up spilling milk down the front of his shirt. “Okay, so maybe I should’ve worn a bib too,” he chuckled, wiping it off.
Luna, for her part, seemed more interested in gnawing on the bottle’s nipple than actually drinking from it, which led to a minor battle of wills. “Come on, Luna, you’ve got to eat,” Damian coaxed, trying to gently guide the bottle into her mouth. After some persistence, she finally latched on, and Damian couldn’t help but feel a small swell of pride. “That’s my girl. We’re getting the hang of this.”
Nap time, however, was a different story. Luna had always been a light sleeper, and today was no exception. Damian tried everything—rocking her in his arms, walking around the house, even playing soft music on his phone. But each time he laid her in the crib, her eyes would pop open, and she’d start fussing again.
“Come on, princesa, you need to sleep,” Damian whispered, exhausted but determined. Eventually, after what felt like hours of rocking and shushing, Luna finally dozed off. Damian carefully placed her in the crib, holding his breath as he slowly backed out of the room. The moment he stepped on a creaky floorboard, her eyes fluttered open. Damian froze, holding his breath, but to his relief, Luna let out a tiny sigh and fell back asleep.
Damian tiptoed out of the room, collapsing onto the couch with a sigh of relief. “This is tougher than a ladder match,” he muttered, rubbing his eyes. He pulled out his phone to check the time and noticed a message from Y/N: How’s everything going?
He couldn’t help but smile as he typed back: We’re surviving. No major disasters yet. He added a winking emoji for good measure before setting his phone down and closing his eyes for just a moment.
He was startled awake by the sound of the baby monitor crackling to life. Luna was awake again. “Already?” he groaned, dragging himself off the couch and heading back to her room. He found her sitting up in the crib, wide awake and looking as bright-eyed as ever.
“You know, it’s supposed to be nap time,” Damian said, scooping her up and holding her close. She responded by grabbing a fistful of his hair and tugging, which made him wince but also laugh. “You’ve got a strong grip, just like your dad.”
He spent the next few hours trying to keep Luna entertained. He tried singing to her, but his deep, gravelly voice only made her stare at him in confusion. He brought out her favorite toys, only to find that she was more interested in chewing on anything within reach—including his championship belt, which he quickly had to rescue from her tiny grasp. “Not a teething toy, sweetheart,” he said, holding it up out of her reach.
He tried reading her a story, but Luna seemed more interested in the sound of his voice than the actual words. She cooed and babbled back at him as if trying to have a conversation. “Yeah? Is that right?” Damian played along, nodding seriously as if he understood every word. “You’re already smarter than your old man.”
The hours passed, and soon it was time for Luna’s evening routine. Damian managed to give her a bath without too much water ending up on the floor, though she did manage to splash him a few times. “You’re a little troublemaker, aren’t you?” he said, wrapping her in a fluffy towel and drying her off.
Getting her dressed in her pajamas was another challenge. Luna was wriggly, and every time Damian tried to get her tiny arms through the sleeves, she’d pull them back out. “This is definitely harder than a chokehold,” he muttered, finally succeeding and zipping up the onesie.
Finally, it was bedtime. Damian settled into the rocking chair with Luna, cradling her gently in his arms. He tried to hum a lullaby—one he remembered his own mother singing to him when he was little. Luna’s eyes grew heavy, and after a few minutes, she was fast asleep.
Damian looked down at her, feeling a wave of love and pride wash over him. “We did it, princesa,” he whispered, carefully placing her in the crib and brushing a kiss against her forehead. “You and me—we make a pretty good team.”
He tiptoed out of the room, closing the door softly behind him. He was exhausted, but he couldn’t help but smile as he collapsed onto the couch once more. It had been a challenging day, but also one filled with sweet, unexpected moments that he knew he’d cherish forever.
Just as he closed his eyes, his phone buzzed. It was Y/N, checking in again. Damian grinned as he typed back: Survived the day. House still standing. Princesa asleep. I think I deserve a championship belt for this.
He hit send, leaning back on the couch and finally allowing himself to relax. Y/N’s response came quickly: I’m so proud of you. Can’t wait to be back with my two favorite people.
Damian smiled, feeling a warmth in his chest that was different from the thrill of any wrestling match or victory in the ring. It was the simple, undeniable joy of being a dad, and he knew he wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
The next morning, when Y/N walked through the door, she was greeted by the sight of Damian asleep on the couch with Luna curled up on his chest, both of them snoring softly.
Y/N couldn’t help but smile as she set down her bags and walked over to them. She gently brushed a kiss on Damian’s forehead, then Luna's. "Looks like you did just fine," she whispered, feeling a warmth in her heart.
Everything really had turned out okay—better than okay. It was perfect.

Leto! Joker x side chick! Reader ig…
Tumblr media
1248 words
Barely proofread ts so i’m so sorry if u see errors
pt 2
Description: You work at one of Joker’s clubs and he starts to take an interest in you….
Every night there would be presents and money left on my small table in my small ass kitchen in this small ass apartment.
It all started when I finally learned the real identity of my boss’s boss’s boss at the club I worked at. I really needed money desperately for my family who lived out of the country. I’m currently working on the papers so they can gain legal presence but until then I need to work hard and study hard.
At the club I worked at, they paid me better than most places and I would be able to go to university in the daytime and work at night.
The club was pretty high class, there were many high profile politicians who were VIPs. Given that they were even at a club, they were most if not all sleezebags who tried to hit on the staff to the point that I could file sexual harassment charges. But nevermind that.
The club was so high class and full of VIPs that I didn’t expect it to be owned by the biggest crime lord in this city, the Joker. This whole city was corrupt in and out. Even if I tried to file those sexual harassment charges I would’ve been shut up instantly.
When I saw this head of green hair and his pale deathly looking skin and his red lips that I couldn’t tell if it was lipstick or blood, I tried my best to not be noticed by him.
Though he looked like a corpse he was extremely attractive. Maybe in another universe I would actually try to get at him. Well and if his fellow Clown Queen of Crime didn't exist. She frightens me even more than Joker. Well actually that’s a lie but as a girl I can say that we’re ruthless when it comes to boyfriends and husbands and such. Too blind and in too much love to use actual reason.
Harley’s beautiful though they genuinely look good together.
I went over to Joker’s table where he was talking to (or more like taunting) his client to drop off the drinks. It seemed that everyone else already knew what his regular drink was and his client’s.
I tried my best not to mess up or to not loudly drop the drinks because at this moment I could actually not stop my whole body from shaking. They continued talking about their deal without even looking at me. I kept a friendly smile on my face.
I walked off a bit quickly because I was terrified. Yet I felt like someone was staring right at me. I quickly turned my head and all I could see in that moment was Joker with his usual devilishly grin looking straight at me. My blood ran cold.
When I was out of his sight I closed my eyes and started to pray.
‘Dear God, please forgive me for any sins I have committed for I do not want to die tonight. I have too much to live for so please don’t let me die. Thank you for everything you have blessed me with Lord, amen.’
I was crying internally.
Literally was gonna kill myself right then and there. But I brought myself back to reality and back to work.
Whenever I would come to work the Joker would be there with Harley.
I literally think I’m going crazy because I think he keeps looking straight at me…. With his girlfriend/wife/partner in crime which was even worse. Yeah he was hot but cheating men are scum of the Earth. And Joker’s a mass murderer and other stuff. To be honest I kinda forgot I’ve been too busy with school to care about politics….
I finally got a shift off and a day off of school today. I’m just gonna sleep and lounge around and be fat. I got out of my bed to go get some more ice cream in my kitchen.
It felt a bit unnerving when I was in the kitchen, like someone was watching me. I shook off the feeling because I had locks on every single window and door. The crime in my country is a bit bad so Gotham wasn’t that much different.
As soon as I turned around to go back to my bedroom with my ice cream in hand…
“Boo!”
“What the fuck?!” I screamed so loud that I dropped my bowl of ice cream and it shattered.
“The look on your face doll… it’s so… funny!” The intruder was the Joker and he couldn’t and wouldn’t stop laughing at my reaction.
“…” I just stood there in silence thinking about how that bowl was so expensive…
I didn’t want my floor to be sticky so I started picking up shards of the really expensive bowl.
“Aww~ Are you.. mad doll~?” He teased me with his usual grin.
“Not really, I’m just a little sad because this bowl was really expensive.” I sighed to myself.
“If that’s it then here.” Joker tossed money at me.
“Um… It’s okay I’ll just work for it back.” My mom always taught me that I shouldn’t accept money and that I should always offer to pay so I gave that money back to him.
“Just take it Doll, think of it as my~ first~ gift~ to~ you~” he really emphasized on the last part like really.
He got comfy and sat down on a table chair as I cleaned the floor from the sticky mess.
That sounds a little wrong, I just mean my ice cream trust…
After cleaning it all, it occurred to me…
Why and how did the Joker get into my apartment…
My blood ran cold. I feel like I could turn into a reptile with how much my blood goes cold.
“I liked seeing you at my club but I like seeing you in this shaggy apartment more.” He looked at me.
“Um… how did you get in here?” I spoke quietly afraid I would somehow strike a nerve.
“It was easy! I broke your window.” He spoke like he just finished climbing Mt. Everest.
My mouth dropped to the floor.
Like I tried to close it but it just wouldn't.
“…”
“What~? Cat got your tongue Doll?” He grinned.
I’m actually going to kill myself.
At this point I hope he pulls out the glock 19 and shoots me….
Wait but all my windows are barred up…
I looked into my living room and realized there was glass everywhere and the metal bar was stretched apart enough where it would fit the Joker perfectly.
Calculating the cost in my head I actually started to cry. Tears ran down my face.
I would be fine if I picked up a few extra shifts but I had to study more because finals were coming up. I’ll have to cut down on food and sleep…
The Joker awkwardly patted my back.
“Here’s some more money Princess.”
“I.. Cant accept it.” I said between sniffles and pushed his money back to him.
He suddenly grabbed my head with both his hands and made me stare him in the eye.
“Take. The. Money. Princess. Or else I’ll shove it down your throat.” His face was way too close to mine.
“Thank you…” I tried my best to smile while he was still manhandling my head.
He kissed me out of literally nowhere.
My blood went cold again.
I don’t want to be a mistress or some side bitch….
And Harley’s gonna kill me……
Yet it felt so good.

I Told You It Would Happen
This can be a standalone or part three to something’s missing.
It’ll Happen (previous)
Art Donaldson x Reader
Summary: you are art finally got the news you had been waiting for.
Tumblr media
It had been another month or two since you last took a test. You and Art decided to keep trying but try not to get too excited yet because it could take a while. However, you started having some symptoms you couldn’t ignore. The biggest being a missed period. When you noticed you wanted to jump up and down and tell Art, but then you thought about how disappointed he’d be if it was another negative. So you decided that you would just take the test alone while he was training.
As you sat in the bathroom waiting for the results of the test you felt guilty. Art had been right by your side every other time. Would he feel left out? Would he want to be here? You knew he’s want to be here weather it was positive or negative, you suddenly decided to cover up the test with a towel and wait for him to get home. You forced yourself to do everything in your power not to look at the test. “It’s probably negative” you kept telling yourself. You went for a long walk to try and distract yourself from what could be the best thing that’s ever happened to you (besides Art). You saw the time and knew Art would be home soon so you rushed back to the house. As you got to your house Art pulled into the drive way meeting him at the door. He looked surprised to see you out for a walk, it was kind of out of the ordinary for you.
“Whatcha doing babe?” Your husband asked wrapping his arms around you giving you a quick kiss.
“Just uh enjoying our beautiful neighborhood, why?” You answered clearly hiding something, you were a terrible liar and Art knew it.
“Yeah? What’s going on y/n/n?” Art asked you suspiciously neither of you opening the door yet
“I - um - I… I thought maybe I was pregnant because I missed my period so I was gonna take a test and not tell you unless it was positive because I didn’t want you to be disappointed but then I felt so guilty because I knew you would still want to be there no matter what the test said so I covered the test before I could see the results so that I could wait for you so we could both look and I’ve been trying so hard not to look and I’m kind of freaking out” you blurred out somehow all in one breath. Art waited a minute making sure you were done, you noticed a small smile growing on his face
“What? Are you mad?” You asked
“You think you’re pregnant?” He whispered sweetly
“Well I don’t know maybe” you replied still in panic mode
“What are we waiting for let’s go see if we’re parents!” Art happily replied pulling you in the door, you followed him to the master bathroom.
“You look. I can’t.” You ordered him gesturing to the towel the test was under.
“Are you sure?” He asked
“Yes now do it!” You barked desperate to know what it said. You watched him slowly lift the towel up looking at the test so only he could see it. His face was blank and you were sure it was negative
“What? What does it say?!” You suddenly we’re mad that you told Art just for it to be negative. His face still not showing anything. He looked down and you saw a smile form on his face. He looked at you
“We’re gonna be parents” he said quietly with tears in his eyes.
“What!? Lemme see!” You ripped the test from him.
“Oh my god!” You yelled grabbing arts face with the test still in your hand now you were both crying Art more than you
“You’re pregnant” Art cried pulling you in for the tightest hug ever
“I’m pregnant!” You cried back, Art dropped to his knees hugging your abdomen
“I told you it would happen” he said kissing you stomach. Your heart felt like it was glowing.
The rest on the night you practically stayed in the same position. You layer in bed and art layer by your stomach with his arms hugging your non existent baby bump. The night was filled with tears of joy, cuddles, and talk of nursery colors, names, what the baby would look like. Art even talked about giving them siblings but you reminded him that you guys should just focus on this one for now.
Art was right, it did happen.

Girl Of My Dreams — Mat Barzal
Tumblr media
Summary: In which Mat Barzal inadvertently falls for the oldest Hughes sibling and her brothers aren’t happy.
Content Warning; Taylor swift 1989 isn’t by Tay(its by reader) Mentions of University of Alabama (reader went there) Trevor Zegras being hopelessly in love with reader. Readers social media face claim is Addison Rae bc idc she’d clear as a WAG for a athlete.
Pairing: Mat Barzal x Hughes! Reader.
Mat would be lying if he said he didn’t sneak glances at the announcers box after meeting you. You had been carrying a plate of food and two margaritas to your booth where your friends sat. Tito had made a joke about you seeming familiar then the pair heard your voice and knew, “Alright now, eat up because y’all are bumming me out.” Mat’s jaw slacked, “He’d known that the Islanders had gotten a new game announcer who was a girl but he wouldn’t have known it was you. You were effortlessly stunning, you had captivated the attention of every straight man in the bar. Mat had approached you as you sat at the bar, “I’m Mat, can I buy you a drink?”
You grinned and spoke, southern accent slipping out, “I’m Y/N, I mean Barzy after the way you played last game? You better buy me a drink. ‘Yknow how many hate comments my broadcast got?” Mat grinned as the bartender approached you, “Another Corona Light and whatever she’s having on me.” You grinned sheepishly, “I’m fucking with you. I’ve heard worse.” Mat grinned, “So now would probably be a shitty time to ask you out?” You smiled at him, “Maybe not.” Mat smiled, “If I may, your not from New York are you? Where are you from?” You grinned, “I grew up in Toronto with my 3 younger brothers and moved to Alabama for college and been in New York for a few months now.” Mat grinned, “Well welcome to New York beautiful.” That was a year and a half ago. You still hadn’t told your brothers who your boyfriend was, just that his name was Mathew. Until your album release came creeping in and you wanted to go public with Mat.

never lose you
luca fantilli x estapa sister
warnings?: cursing, pregnancy, fluff and kissing
masterlist
-
“mark, i threw up again this morning.” you groan, holding the cold towel to the back of your neck as you walked into his room.
“come here.” he waves you over pressing his hand to your forehead.
“nope still not warm. somethings up with you, and i think i might know what it is.”
“i don’t want it to be true.” you whine.
“i know, but you’re not alone. go put on some shoes im gonna take you to Walmart. you’re taken care of okay? we can work it out sis. i’ve got you.”
“thank you.” you reply tearfully as he hugged you.
“i’m always here to protect my baby sis. it’s my job.”
“only by a year and a half.”
“well it’s 2 years when you look at the number.” you giggle smacking his arm.
“go get your shoes,” he laughs lightly, sliding his slippers on. he met you out at his car, nonstop picking at your nails.
“moms gonna kill me.”
“no she’s not y/n. you’re 20. sure you’re young but you’re not a teenager. you’re in school and have a good job. everything will work out. and besides you don’t even actually know yet.” he says shaking your shoulder, forcing a small smile out. you and mark had thankfully always been really close and you knew you could trust him with anything.
once you were checked out at the store, mark paid for everything. you almost wanted to cry. your brother was always supportive but he knew this could be the biggest obstacle of your life possibly.
“you didn’t have to pay for all of this stuff.”
“it’s the least i can do. you’re just giving me stressed vibes and i wanna try to help.” he replies.
“farah has made you a softy.” you laugh and he smacks your arm.
“hey that’s a good thing. we love her.”
“the most.” he giggles, driving you safely home.
“moms at work so, i’ll just sit out here while you do your thing and just come out when you’re ready.” mark says sitting on the end of your bed, turning on a tv show so you could be properly isolated.
you sat impatiently on the edge of your tub, waiting for the timer to go off. once it finally rang, you stood up and walked over to the counter, your breath uneven. you picked up the test flipping it over.
just as mark had suspected. positive.
“mark.” you say aloud, your voice growing weak.
“what is it? do you want me to come in there?” he asks, pausing the tv.
“yeah.” you say wiping a tear.
“whats the verdict?” he asks and you simply hand it to him and he sighs.
“how do you feel?” he asks, looking back up at you.
“i don’t know.” you reply, feeling the tears begin to well up in your eyes.
“do you need anything?”
“i just need you bubba, i’m scared.” you say, calling him the nickname that hasn’t left your mouth since his 12th birthday, choking on the tears that threatened to fall.
“hey no no, don’t cry.” he says pulling you into his chest, cradling your head comfortingly.
“what do i do?” you sniffle.
“you need to talk to mom when she comes home. don’t tell luca first. as much as i know you might want to.” he says,’letting you go and taking the test back out of your hands, setting it on the counter.
“okay.” you reply weakly.
“hey, everything’s gonna be okay. i’ve got your back. one hundred percent.” he states, confirming the sense of comfort he was giving you.
“thank you mark.”
“of course. i can’t believe my homie knocked you up.” he giggles and you shove him jokingly. he’d always joked about you and luca dating but he honestly adored the fact that one of his best friends was able to make you the happiest he’s ever seen you.
“too soon man, too soon.” you giggle, hugging your older brother one last time before exiting the bathroom.
it now felt like a waiting game, waiting for your mother to get home. you waited and waited until you finally got the text that she was on her way. going over and over in your head what exactly you should say to her, what questions you’re gonna ask her. it was all happening so quickly.
“hey y/n.” your mom says walking in the door and you say hello back, letting her get settled. the longer she was home the more nervous you grew. after a few short minutes, you called her into the living room.
“what’s up? you seem so serious.” she giggles nervously.
“mom can i please just ask that you won’t be mad at me when i tell you this.” you start, already feeling the tears well up, mark sitting and listening at the bar. supporting from a distance.
“i mean i can’t promise any-“
“please mom.” you beg, wiping the single tear that fell.
“okay okay, what’s wrong?”
“momma i’m pregnant.” you say, your voice cracking slightly before breaking down in tears once again.
“oh honey.” she replies, hugging onto you instantly.
“i’m sorry.” you cry into her shoulder.
“no sweetheart don’t apologize. it’s gonna be okay.” she says softly, letting you go.
“i’m so scared. we didn’t plan for this at all.”
“i know you didn’t, it’s okay we all make mistakes, but hey, at least we know who the father is,” she giggles, “have you told him yet?”
“no mark told me to tell you first.”
“atta boy.” she winks at him as he giggles.
“are you sure you’re not mad?” you ask, sucking up your tears.
“no y/n, im not mad. you’re 20 years old. you’re not 16 anymore. you’re a grown up.” she says rubbing your arm.
“what do i do? i need help.”
“and that’s why i’m here, im your mother. im always going to help you. you’re my only baby girl, you’ll always be taken care of my love.” she says, wiping your final tear.
“thank you momma.” you reply, hugging her once again.
“why don’t you invite luca over tonight, you can tell him. and if he needs a moment, i’m here. we’re all here for you y/n.” mark adds in.
“that’s a great idea. call him.” she replies and you nod, inviting luca over to stay the night which he of course accepted. about an hour later, luca was walking in the door. your heart dropping at the sound of his voice.
“hi baby.” he says sweetly, walking over to kiss you as you sat anxiously laid back on the couch.
“hi.” you reply before he says hello to mark and mom.
“luca, go sit with my sister. it’s important. but i’m staying right here.” he insists, directing luca back to the couch.
“oh um, are you okay?” he asks, the nerves in his voice ticking immediately.
“well, i’m not really sure. how you react to what im about to tell you will determine if im okay.” you giggle, scratching the back of your head.
“whatever it is, i won’t be mad.” he reassures you, concern filling his eyes.
“lu im-“ you pause, breathing out before continuing, “im pregnant.”
“what?” he replies quietly.
“i’m pregnant luca.” you repeat. he says nothing and pulls you in for a hug. he still hasn’t said anything which wasn’t making you feel the best.
“if you need a second i understand, im still processing it too” you say as he pulls away and nods at your words, mark pulling him into the guest room. you shuffled quietly over to the shut door, pressing your ear against it.
“bro why didn’t you say anything?” mark asks.
“i didn’t know how to reply, i don’t want to upset her.”
“what’s that supposed to mean? are you gonna dump her? are you gonna tell her what to do about it? what is it?”
“no of course not, i fucking love her dude, i love that girl like crazy, i would never leave her to do this alone. ever. i was just in shock. i still don’t even know what to say to comfort her. i know she’s probably taking it really hard.”
“well get out there, and use your words dude. she’s crazy about you. and hearing any kind of words of affirmation ate important to her, especially right now.” mark replies as you quickly shuffle back over to the couch, the door opening once you sat down.
“y/n, i’m sorry i didn’t say anything back. i- i was just in shock. i know this is my fault and im fully prepared to take on that responsibility. whatever you choose to do, i’m here to support you. i love you so much baby. you’re not alone, you’ll never be alone.” he spits out, spilling a few tears taking your hands into his.
“thank you.” you reply tearfully as he presses a sweet kiss to your lips.
“always. you’ll never lose me y/n, i swear to god you won’t.” he reassures you as you cuddle yourself to his chest, leaned back on the couch.
“okay.” you reply quietly.
-
you were about 4 months along now. still sick every morning, back pain sinking in. your belly was still a little small but definitely growing.
“no no fuck.” you whine, your favorite jeans now no longer able to zip.
“what’s wrong? i heard you from out there.” luca says burst through the door.
“luca my favorite jeans don’t fit anymore.” you frown, tears threatening to spill.
“hey no no, it’s okay baby. those jeans will hug your beautiful body again in a few months my love. go put on some of my sweatpants and we can go find you some new jeans. is that okay?” he asks stopping your tears.
“okay. thank you.” you reply softly.
“anything for you, you know i’ll always take care of you.” he replies, kissing your head and reaching for his shoes.
luca had moved into your house to be with you during your pregnancy. he couldn’t bare the idea of sleeping in his bed while you slept in yours. he’s been great helping out around the house and making sure you don’t have to go or drive anywhere on your own. making sure you and your baby were safe at all times. you grew more comfortable with him day by day.
you picked out a few pairs of jeans as well as a couple of dresses to try on. just to make sure you were getting something you’d actually wear.
“okay here’s the first pair.” you said before pulling open the curtain revealing the maternity jeans that closely resembled your favorite jeans.
“so?”
“you look beautiful.” luca says, a smile growing widely on his face as he observed your body.
“well we know this size fits so, i’ll show you the dress i picked out.” you giggle, walking back into the dressing room and shutting the curtain, quickly yanking the jeans off and pulling the dress over your head. you adjusted it and looked in the mirror. your bump was showing well in this dress. you turned to the side and frowned. it hit you all at once what was happening, tears welling up in your eyes.
“everything okay in there?” luca asks, standing outside the curtain.
“yeah, can you come in here?” you ask, wiping the tear, turning to face the curtain.
“oh wow.” he says tugging the curtain shut behind you as he looked at you before noting your expression.
“what’s wrong y/n? you look absolutely gorgeous.”
“i know but look.” you frown turning to the side running a hand over your small bump.
“what about it?”
“look at me luca. just look.” you frown a quiet sob leaving your mouth.
“don’t cry baby no.” he says pulling you to his chest.
“it’s just all hitting me so fast. my body is changing so fast.” you sniffle.
“i know i know, but you’re gonna be such a beautiful momma. baby fantilli slash y/l/n has the most beautiful mommy in the world. i know you may not feel the greatest but you’re so gorgeous y/n. you look so fucking perfect.” he says running his hands over your stomach and on your sides only making you cry more.
“shhhhh it’s okay.” he says hugging you tighter, cradling your head in his hand, grazing his thumb softly over your hair.
-
“so.”
“so?” you question mark as he enters your room and plops on your bed.
“i got you something, well it wasn’t all me, it was like ninety percent luca.” he says holding up target bags full of things.
“something? looks like more than that.” you giggle.
“yeah well, luca left early for family dinner so that he could go shopping for you and the baby. he wanted my help so, do you wanna see?”
“i mean i guess i don’t have much choice do i?” you laugh, grateful they’d thought of you while out together.
“okay so,” he starts before showing you everything him and luca had picked out for you and the baby. your heart melted more and more with the thoughtfulness of each object.
“thank you for everything mark.” you reply as he finished, hugging him tightly.
“luca has one more thing, but he’ll give it to you once he’s home.” mark smiles, putting everything back in the bags and setting them on the floor.
“oh? okay.” you reply as he exits your room with a goodbye. it shouldn’t be too much longer that luca would be gone. you hoped at least. you sat in your bed looking through the objects when luca came in the room.
“hi baby,” you smile as he walks over to kiss you sweetly.
“how was dinner with the family?” you continue.
“it was so good. they were asking me about how everything was going and they wanted me to give you this check from them. it’s for a thousand dollars. my brother and parents all chipped in.” he smiles, unfolding the check from his pocket and handing it to you.
“that’s so sweet of them.” you pout looking up at him and hugging on tightly.
“they wanted to make sure you’re taken care of. this money is for you. not the baby. for you.” he repeats and you nod.
“i also have something else for you.” he says quietly.
“go on?” you smile.
“close your eyes.” he says smiling and you do so, smile growing wider. you feel a ring slowly pushed onto your ring finger, you stomach dropping at the sensation.
“open.” he says quietly and you open your eyes to a delicate diamond ring. a simple design and a small diamond.
“luca what-“
“this is not a marriage proposal, you know i would go all out for that. this is just a promise ring.”
“it’s beautiful.” you say looking closer at it.
“i got it because i wanted to show you how truly serious i am about this. im so in love with you, and im in love with our future. you’re everything to me, our baby is everything to me, we are everything to me. and more.” he says, grabbing onto your hand, running a thumb over your knuckles.
“this almost feels like a dream and like it’s gonna be over soon.” you say shedding a tear.
“well it’s not a dream and it’s not too good to be true. i also got the ring so that no creepy guy would try to think you were some young single struggling mom. had to stake my claim properly.” he giggles.
“well thank you for thinking of me luca.”
“always.”
-
“i don’t wanna do any parties or anything.” you tell luca as you sat in the ultrasound room.
“no showers?”
“can we just mail out like an announcement and maybe we’ll get some gifts and stuff.” you ask.
“if that’s what you want, it’s entirely up to you.”
“i’m already stressed enough, that would probably make it worse.” you giggle.
“then we’ll do that.”
“okay my lovebirds, i have the gender right here. do you want me to save it? or do you want it now?” the doctor asks, entering the room.
“now, please.” you smile anxiously.
“i’ll hand it off to you.” she smiles at luca as she hands the paper off to him.
“it’s a……” he pauses scanning the paper before stopping, a smile growing across his cheeks.
“it’s a girl.” he says sweetly.
“really?” you exclaim.
“yes baby, it’s a girl.” he says showing you the paper. quickly you jump up off the bed, wrapping your arms tightly around him.
“luca fantilli, girl dad, has a nice ring to it.” you giggle pulling away.
“y/n fantilli, girl MOM, has a better ring to it in my opinion.” he giggles.
“come here.” you say to the doctor, squeezing her tight, thanking her for this special moment.
“i’m so glad you guys are happy. please come back and see me once she’s born.”
“absolutely we will.” you smile as she guides you back to the waiting room.
-
“god i’m only a few weeks away.” you grown, leaning on your hands over the counter in hopes of relieving the stress on your back.
“hey y/n, we gotta try this.” luca comes sliding around the corner, tossing his phone on the couch.
“try what?” you groan sitting up.
“okay turn your back to me.” he says and you do so.
“ready?” he asks.
“yes?” you question. moments later feeling all of the pressure leave your back.
“oh my god.” you breathe out as he holds your belly up.
“does that feel good?”
“yes fuck yes. i feel like i can breathe properly.” you giggle with borderline orgasmic pleasure lining your tone.
“unfortunately i cannot stand here forever but i will gladly do this whenever you need it.” he says gently lowering your belly.
“thank you baby, that felt amazing.” you say turning around and pressing a sweet kiss to his lips.
-
you laid restlessly in the hospital bed, luca lying awake on his phone in a chair just across the room. your water broke at home but you were nowhere near ready to give birth.
“i can’t sleep.” you groan.
“me either.” he replies, shutting off his phone.
“can you come lay with me?” you ask softly.
“yeah of course.” he says getting up off the chair and instantly finding his way to your side.
“i’m so scared lu.” you whisper.
“i know. it’s scary, but im here. your mom is here. mark will be here.”
“will you hold my hand when the time comes?” you ask, nuzzling yourself to his side as best as you could.
“of course baby. let’s try and get some sleep in you okay?” he says.
“okay.” you reply, shutting your eyes. after what seemed like hours of silence your consciousness dwindled.
“i’m so proud of you.” he whispers pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. those words being the last you heard before you finally drifted off to sleep.
you woke up the next morning with jerk and a sharp pain.
“ouch.” you groan, seeing luca had already been awake and moved to the chair.
“oh gosh, are you contracting?”
“yeah, good morning to me.” you groan, squinting your eyes shut.
“do you want me to get your mom?” he asks and you simply nod, gritting your teeth. he calls your mom on his phone, her entering just moments later.
“how frequent?”
“well this was the first one so i don’t know.” you reply, the pressure subsiding.
“i’ll go grab a doctor and they can check you out. just hold tight honey.” she says, rushing back out the door.
“what if it happens like soon soon?” you ask luca nervously.
“we’ll all be by your side. i can’t sit here and say it’ll be easy because it’s definitely not, but i’ll hold your hand and make sure you’re doing okay. that’s my job.” he says, reassuring that you were not alone in this process.
“okay miss y/n. how are you feeling? i heard you had a contraction.” the nurse says entering the room.
“yeah, that’s what i woke up to.” you sigh.
“what a pleasant wake up call.” she giggles.
the nurse stayed in the room keeping tabs with your dialation. you grew more and more nervous at every update.
-
“come on baby, just one more.” luca says as you held a death grip on his hand, your knuckles turning white. you somehow mustered up the strength to give one last push, resulting in the sound of your precious baby girl crying, resulting in you sobbing instantly.
“you’re baby daddy?” the doctor asked luca and he nods, being beckoned over.
“well boyfriend and baby daddy but yes.” he giggles as a nurse pats him on the back.
“he’s cutting the cord y/n.” your mom says kissing the side of your head, brushing the hair off of your sweaty face. you brushed over the ring on your finger. it was unreal that this was your life now.
all you could do was cry. the wait was finally over.
“hi baby.” you frown sweetly as they handed you your daughter, luca finding his way back to your side immediately.
“she’s beautiful.” you sob out, sniffling.
“just like her momma.” luca replies, kissing your temple a few times, his hand rested on top of yours as you held her. admiring your beautiful creation, the one you were so afraid of those 9 months ago.
“i like lilly.” you say to luca quietly.
“lilly fantilli. i love it.” he smiles.
after some hours, the nurses trickled out and the room became quiet again. you’d been holding her for hours, never wanting to let go. not until it was just you, her and luca.
“hey momma, before you leave can you do something for me?” you smile.
“yes of course sweetie.” she replies as she walks over, whispering in her ear. you handed the baby off to your mom, who carried her over to luca.
“now i know im your mother-in-law so this is gonna sound weird. but i need you to take off your shirt.” she says in her humor that you always adored. you wanted to cry as his face lit up. he slid his shirt off quickly and got comfortable before your mother carefully handed her off to him, resting her softly on his chest.
“oh my god.” he stuttered out, a tear falling down his cheek, followed by a sniffle.
“lu don’t cry honey.” you said softly, carefully getting out of bed finding your way to his side. luckily since you were young, recovery wasn’t so hard.
“i can’t help it, look at what we did. she’s perfect.” he continued, quiet sobs leaving his mouth. in all the time you’d been together, you’d never seen him like this. so vulnerable and sweet.
“awe baby.” you said, lightly scratching his scalp.
“i love you my sweet lilly girl, i’ll never let anyone hurt you and i’ll always be here for you. daddy loves you so much.” he cried quietly to her on his chest, bringing you nearly to tears.
“i can’t believe this is our life now.” you say in his ear pressing a kiss to his shoulder.
“i would never change it, not for anything in the world.” he replies finally looking at you. his eyes puffy with tears.
“i love you luca, so so much.”
“i love you more, zero argument.” he smiles, you roll your eyes playfully pressing a kiss to his lips, closing the last chapter of your youth.
this was your life now. mother of lilly mars (mark wasn’t a good middle name for a girl) fantilli, and obviously future wife of luca. it was the best gift the universe could’ve ever blessed you with.

Where Our Blue Is
(青のすみか)
Tumblr media

Even now the blue lives Even now the blue is clear I’ve got a curse for you stuck at the back of my throat. It’s the unvoiced voice that says, “We’ll meet again, right?”
-
“You ever think about dying sometimes?”
You raised your head from your Jujutsu Kaisen volume to stare at Rei. Her head was tilted up, eyes on the stars that were visible from under the tree.
“Why do you always ask these pessimistic questions?” you couldn’t help but ask. She gave you side eye.
“I think that’s just the way you choose to view my questions,” she replied.
“That is a horrible opinion…”
“And this is coming from the guy reading manga at 10pm?”
You shut the book and sighed.
“I don’t get to read much at home Rei…”
“And that’s my problem because?”
Your lips formed a thin line. You smacked her with your book. She yelped.
“Hey!” she chided.
“Cry me a river,” you replied.
Rei pouted and crossed her arms. “So this is what I get for trying to initiate conversation.”
“Who starts a conversion by talking about death?” you questioned.
“Me. Duh,” she retorted.
“I think you need to polish your social skills,” you suggested.
She snatched your book away from you. “And I think that you should stop engaging in bitchless behaviour!”
You clicked your tongue and snatched your book right back.
“Let me be Rei,” you muttered.
Rei’s haughty expression softened.
“H-Hey… I-I didn’t mean to piss you off…” she apologised. You waved it off.
“I’m not angry… Just tired,” you told her truthfully. The back of your head rested against the coarse bark of the tree. She shifted herself closer to you.
“You okay?” she asked you. You nodded.
“I’m fine…” you assured her, “sorry for being so grumpy.”
“It’s fine,” she brushed it off, “we all have our bad days.”
Cicadas chirped in the distance. The lamp hanging from the nail that you’d hammered into the tree illuminated the space around you, the light swaying in the summer breeze. Rei yawned next to you.
“You wanna know something?” she asked.
“What?”
She hugged her knees to her chest and rested her face on them.
“I wanna be an idol.”
You raised your eyebrows.
“Sounds fun… But—”
“Not a Japanese idol,” she interjected, “I wanna be one of those Kpop stars…”
She piqued your interest. Rei would have these moments where she’d randomly rant about what she wanted to do in the future. One moment she dreamed of being a teacher, the next a Physicist… Being flippant about her future was her specialty.
“Kpop huh?” you mused, “listening to all that Red Velvet finally got to you didn’t it?”
Rei shot you a glare. “I know you’re grumpy, but could you not insult me for like five seconds?”
You raised your hands in surrender. She continued.
“Just imagine it… Naoi Rei, the next biggest sensation!” she sighed, “I’ll be all over the internet… Those bullies would google my name and regret messing with me… God, it's such a dream…”
You chuckled. Your fingers drummed against the cover of your book.
“Sounds like fun,” you remarked, “but I heard that the Korean Idols live tough lives.”
She pouted. “Are you saying I can’t take it?”
“I’m not saying anything,” you clarified, “I’m just… Cautioning you…”
She sat up straight.
“Mark my words,” she declared, pumping her fist into the air. “I will become a star!”
You smiled. She was clearly delusional, but you entertained her.
“I’ll hold you to that,” you joked. Rei let her hand drop back to her sides.
“Wanna bet on it?” she wagered.
“Sure. What are we betting?”
She sat up straight.
“If I become a Kpop idol… You buy me lunch for a week,” she decided.
“Deal,” you agreed, “but if you don’t… You buy me a box of these babies.”
You lifted your manga and wiggled it in the air. She laughed.
“Oh you’re on,” she readily accepted, “I’m so ready to burn a hole in your wallet!”
“Same here,” you grinned. Rei stuck out her hand.
“We shake on it.”
You rolled your eyes and gave her what she wanted. Satisfied, she stood and stretched. You didn’t get up cause you knew that she’d sit back down just a few minutes later.
“Hey,” she called, “if either of us makes it big in the future… Let’s promise not to forget each other.”
You looked up at her, watching her hair reflect the light from the lamp under the veil of the dark blue night sky.
“I can get behind that…” you smiled. Rei giggled.
Her eyes reflected the blue of the night sky.
(That was when you were thirteen. She was Naoi Rei—your neighbour and best friend.)
“Hey.”
You raised your head, blinking rapidly as you adjusted to the light assaulting your eyes. Sleeping in class was never a good idea, yet you persistently indulged in it. Rei waved a paper in front of your face, a gleam in her eyes.
“I secured an audition!” she squealed.
“Oh… Nice.”
She pouted.
“You could at least be a little more enthusiastic,” she remarked.
“What’s there to be enthusiastic about when I have Math as my first period?” you grunted.
“Aw come on… Just one compliment?”
You sighed.
“Fine… Great job Rei,” you relented. She seemed satisfied.
Rei slid into her seat next to you, plopping her bag down on the floor with a loud thump. She took out her books, neatly stacking them on her table and laying her acceptance letter atop of the stack.
“I applied to four other agencies. I think I’ll hear from them soon.”
“Sounds cool.”
“I know right? I can’t wait to see their headquarters!” she exclaimed, “I’ll finally get to explore outside Nagoya! Doesn’t that sound fun?”
“Very…” you muttered, slowly drifting back into sleep.
Rei slapped the nape of your neck. “Reciprocate the excitement dammit!”
“Okay, okay! Happy! Yay!” you quickly spouted. Rei snorted.
“I always have to force these reactions out of you… Talk about a one-sided friendship…”
A hand grabbed the letter atop of Rei’s books. With a yank, textbooks and notebooks came tumbling down as the hand withdrew. Your head snapped up.
“Wow Rei… I didn’t know they accepted ugly ducklings as trainees,” Riko sneered. She was the school’s “it” girl. Gucci glasses, an apple watch, horrible personality and a voice that could possibly shatter glass. To you, she was the epitome of the word “bitch”, a spitting image of Hiter’s missing testicle.
“Give that back Riko,” Rei huffed, throwing a hand out to snatch the paper back. The bully stepped back.
“I think I’ll keep this actually…” Riko snorted, “hope you memorised the details of your audition Naoi Rei.”
Rei stood up.
“Give. It. Back,” she ordered through gritted teeth.
“Fuck you. You don’t deserve to be an idol,” Riko scowled, “ugly ducks like you would give people nightmares if they saw you on camera!”
The class erupted into laughter, you’d never realised that they’d been watching. You glanced at Rei. Her hands were clenched into fists, her knuckles slowly turning white.
“Get a load of this,” Riko taunted, pointing at a line on the letter, “we find that you have exceptional qualities and possess a unique personality!”
Riko tore her eyes away from the sheet of paper. “Do you feel better about yourself after reading this? All these lies making you feel good about yourself?”
Rei’s whole body was shaking. She was about to make Riko catch her hands. You had enough. The legs of your chair dragged against the floor as you stood up.
“Riko… Do me a favour and shut the fuck up,” you muttered.
She gave you a look of amusement.
“Wow! Such a hero,” she remarked causticaly, “do you get off following this bitch around like a dog?”
You turned and strode right up to her. With as much disdain as you could muster, you looked her in the eye and scoffed.
“Do you feel better about yourself spouting all this bullshit?” you questioned her, “does it really help you sleep at night knowing that you’re just some petty bitch that gets off on insulting others?”
You snatched the paper away from her.
“Hey!” she barked, lunging at you. You took a step back, relishing the look on her face as she lost her footing and fell. Her cronies rushed to get her back on her feet.
“Grow up. Go do something productive with daddy’s money. You’ll feel better about yourself that way.”
You walked back to your seat and settled back down. There was pin drop silence in the classroom. All eyes were on you and Riko.
“Little shit…” Riko growled, “I’ll have—”
The sound of your homeroom teacher’s heels clacking against the floor alerted the whole room. Students scurried back to their seats, everyone pretending to bury their heads in their books. Riko shot you a dirty glare before storming back to her place.
“Bitch,” you mumbled, pulling in your chair and adjusting your uniform.
You placed the letter on your desk and smoothed out the wrinkles on the snow white paper. Once satisfied, you slid it back over to Rei.
“Get a folder for it,” you advised her, “it won’t crumple so easily if you have something to protect it.”
Rei stared at the letter. As you unzipped your pencil case, you could see from the corner of your eye that a smile was slowly creeping up her face. As homeroom started, Rei scribbled out something onto a scrap piece of paper. With tender hands, she slid the message onto your desk.
Thank you.
You stared at her pretty handwriting, a small smirk on your face. You flipped the paper over and wrote a reply.
You can repay me with a fancy dinner once you become an idol.
Rei read your message and chuckled. With her eyes reflecting the blue in your uniform, she nodded and folded up the paper.
(That was when you were fourteen. She was Naoi Rei—your best friend, neighbour and an aspiring star.)
Rei slammed her locker shut as you approached.
“Hey,” you waved, “how did the audition go?”
Rei closed her eyes and sighed.
“Rejected… Again,” she muttered. You let out a breath and patted her on the back.
“Damn…” you huffed, “you okay?”
Rei opened her eyes. She smiled, an optimistic glow on her face. Her eyes reflected the blue of the locker.
“Yep,” she declared, “there will be more chances. I’m sure of it!”
You had always admired her drive.
“I like your thinking,” you told her, opening your own locker to retrieve your things.
“It’s the only way to think,” she replied.
“Preach,” you chuckled.
Rei giggled and leaned against the lockers.
“Have you found anyone for the dance?” she inquired.
“Nope…” you sighed, pulling the last book out. “I think I just might go alone.”
You closed your locker.
“What about you?” you asked in return, “heard you turned down Suguru…”
“Mhm.”
“Why?”
Rei pouted.
“I don’t like his vibes,” she said bluntly, “besides… I think Nakamura Kazuha has been eyeing him rather keenly. I won’t get in that sweet girl’s way.”
She pushed off the lockers and stood up straight.
“I don’t get it Rei,” you said, walking next to her as you made your way to class. “You’re getting asked out by all the popular and hot guys, but you turn all of them down.”
“What’s so wrong about that?” she refuted, “why should I go to the dance with someone just because they're hot or popular? It doesn’t make sense to me.”
You climbed up a flight of stairs.
“Well personally… I would jump at a chance to go to the dance with a hot and popular guy if I was a girl,” you expressed.
“But we’re polar opposites,” she reminded you, “you and I are different. That’s our curse.”
You furrowed your brows. “Curse?”
Rei shrugged.
“I dunno… I guess it curses us to always be drawn to each other.”
You reached your floor.
“Ever so poetic Naoi-san,” you told her.
She grinned. “I top the cohort in literature for a reason.”
You walked with her to her class. Your classes were adjacent to each other, allowing the both of you to hold a conversation before separating.
“So who are you gonna ask to the dance then?” you couldn’t help but inquire.
“I won’t tell you.”
“Why not?”
She smirked.
“It’ll ruin the surprise…”
She left you with that, quickly breaking away to slip into her classroom door.
“Oi! Rei!” you called after her. She flipped you off through the crack of the sliding door. With a sigh, you were left to ponder on your own as you slinked into your own class. You plopped your books down on your table and hung your bag off the side of your desk. The classroom was noisy as per usual, the incessant chatter of Junior Highschoolers filling your ears. In your stack of books, you located the newest volume of Jujutsu Kaisen that Rei had kindly purchased for you. The cover was still on, Nanami’s face staring right at you as you folded your legs on your chair.
You peeled off the plastic cover with care, gingerly sliding out the volume like you were handling a newborn child. The smell of fresh pages wafted into your nose, a smile turning up the corners of your lips as you flipped the book open to the first page.
That’s when the envelope slipped out onto your lap. It was light blue, your name scribbled across the cover with a brush marker. An onigiri sticker kept the flap of the envelope sealed.
Casting surreptitious glances around you, you made sure that no one could see the envelope. After double-checking to ensure that the coast was clear, you unsealed the envelope and pulled out the folded letter within. It smelt just like a new book, the paper crisp to the touch. You unfolded the sheet of paper.
I like you. Go to the dance with me.
You almost dropped it. For a good long minute, you sat at your seat, stunned.
“Yo yo yo! Watchya got there?” your friend chirped, throwing a hand over your shoulder. It took him a few seconds to read the note, and you could feel his eyes widen.
“Wait… Is this actually…” he muttered. You swallowed.
“I… I think so…” you whispered.
It wasn’t the content of the letter that shocked you. Yes, it was the first confession letter you’d ever received, but the sudden reveal of feelings towards you wasn’t what made you flinch. For at the bottom of the page, a familiar handwriting had left its mark. It was an art piece really, but you never ever admired the hooks and curves of her handwriting more than you did that day.
Love, Rei.
Just like that, Rei had made the first move.
(That was when you were fifteen. She was Naoi Rei—your best friend, neighbour, aspiring star… And the first girl to ever ask you out.)
“Yo.”
You opened your eyes. Rei stared down at you, a glint in her eyes. “How long have you been sleeping up here?”
You sat up and answered her with a lazy yawn. “I’d say ten minutes tops.”
Rei chuckled and settled down next to you.
“I think you should consider sleeping earlier,” she advised.
You scoffed.
“It’s summer Rei, let me catch a break,” you grunted. She punched you in the shoulder.
“Don’t be grumpy because I’m caring for you.”
“Who said I was grumpy?”
She grinned. “Me.”
You loved the way her nose scrunched when you tickled her. You collapsed onto the mat with her, assaulting the flesh of her body with a barrage of tickles as she giggled and squirmed.
“Stop!” she wheezed, dodging your nimble fingers that darted in all directions.
“I’ll stop when I want to,” you sneered.
On the rooftop of your apartment, you tickled Naoi Rei endlessly under the blue summer sky.
Eventually, you both got tired. With laboured breaths, you both laid on your backs and watched the white clouds dot the sea of endless blue before your eyes. It was a moment of peace, tranquillity…
“Did you get any news from that agency?” you asked her. Rei let out one of those heavy sighs.
“Yep…” she answered. Her tone told you everything you needed to know. You wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close.
“It’s okay Rei… There’s always other opportunities,” you assured her, “an agency will accept you. I’m sure of it.”
Rei sighed and rolled onto her side. She buried her face into the crook of your neck, her breath tingling your skin.
“I hope you’re right,” she muttered, “I’m starting to lose hope.”
“Don’t say that,” you frowned, “stay positive Rei… You’ll have your chance to shine.”
She pulled away—just a little so that she could look into your eyes. Here eyes reflected the blue of the summer sky.
“We’re always so different in thought huh?” she pondered. You smiled.
“That’s our curse…”
Rei chuckled and closed her eyes. Your lips met with hers, bodies melting into each other under the clear blue sky. The only thing either of you could hear was the sound of each other's breathing.
(That was when you were sixteen. She was Naoi Rei—your best friend, your neighbour, an aspiring star, the first girl to ask you out and the first girl you ever loved.)
Knock knock knock.
“Coming,” you grunted, getting up from the comfort of your sofa. You set your Jujutsu Kaisen volume down, leaving Sukuna to stare at the ceiling as you shuffled over to the door. When you opened it, she was standing there. Tears ran down her cheeks. She had a letter in her left hand, the paper scrunching under the force of her grip.
“Rei?”
Her puffy eyes met yours. In the pool of her tears, you could see the blue of her sorrow.
“They rejected me…” she rasped, “they fucking rejected me…”
You stared at the paper in her hands. Your heart twisted.
“Rei—”
“Am I not pretty enough? Am I not doing enough? Am I not likeable? Is my personality all wrong?”
Her fingers were beginning to punch holes in the letter.
“What’s wrong with me?”
She looked at you, searching for an answer. You pulled her into your arms.
“Nothing’s wrong with you duckling… Nothing’s wrong with you…”
She stood there for a moment, her ragged breathing filling your ears.
Then she buried her head into your chest and cried. Heart wrenching sobs were torn from her being, the last remnants of her dream spilling out together with her wails and screams. You held on to her as tight as you could, fighting back the tears in your eyes as your girlfriend’s dream died before your very eyes.
You held for as long as she needed to be held for. She needed comfort.
(That was when you were seventeen. She was Naoi Rei—your best friend, your neighbour, the first girl to ask you out, your girlfriend of a year, and the victim of a crushed dream.)
“What… What do you mean?”
Rei stood before you. Long had the gleam disappeared from her eyes, replaced by a soulless expression that remained unreadable.
“You heard me… Let’s break up.”
Under the blue neon light of the convenience store, Rei looked you in the eye.
“I… I don’t see the point in staying together… We should go our separate ways,” she said, her voice devoid of any sort of emotion.
“W-What? B-But… Why?” you asked, “d-did I do something wrong? W-Why are you suddenly doing this?”
You took a step toward her. She took two steps back. You stopped. She stopped.
“We’re… We’re different. That’s our curse…” she whispered.
“H-Haven't we always said that’s a good thing?”
She looked away for a moment, slowly constructing her sentences in her head.
“As different people… I think we should lead our different lives…” She said, sliding her hands into her pockets.  “So yea… Let’s break up.”
“S-So… That's it?” you stammered, “could we at least talk about it?”
Rei chuckled.
“I think it’s better for us to leave things this way,” she objected, “no hard feelings… it’s just that… You’re the easiest thing to let go of right now.”
She sighed and bit her lip.
“That’s all from me,” she announced, “I… I hope you find someone that makes you happy.”
Under the blue of the neon light, through the blur of tears, you watched her turn and walk away from you. You tried calling her name, though it came out more as a strained cry.
She didn’t look back. You weren’t sure why you expected her to.
The curse that drew you together now pushed her away from you.
(That was when you were nineteen. She was Naoi Rei…
And she had shattered your heart.)
Now as she sat before you in a posh omakase restaurant, rummaging through her bag to look for a file, everything she was to you came rushing back in a flurry of memories and emotions. As she set the file down, she kept her eyes on the table as she slid it over to your boss.
“Thank you,” your boss smiled, flipping open the brown folder to review its contents. You were with her on another one of those client meetups, discussing the nitty gritty details of an event organised by your company's clients. It was set to take place in Shibuya two months from now. There was much to do, much to think of… It was all so fast paced.
But when Rei walked in behind her boss and you met each other's gaze, everything seemed to come to a standstill. Years after she’d left you in front of the convenience store, she was back right in front of you.
“It seems like your business has a good idea on what it wants to convey,” your boss mused, flipping through reports and various mock-ups of the venue.
“Of course. This is a big event after all,” Rei’s boss replied. Your boss nodded and handed you the file.
“Take a look. Feel free to give feedback,” she instructed. You nodded and accepted the file.
“Rei here spent lots of time compiling and producing these,” her boss praised. I can see the effort. Your work has my respect Naoi-san,” your boss complimented.
“Thank you…” you heard her mutter. Her voice had changed a lot.
You finished reading through the file as the first course arrived.
“What do you think?” your boss asked. You set the file down on your right.
“I believe that the plan is… Feasible,” you nodded, “though I have to raise the fact that the logistics exceed the agreed budget by a significant amount…”
“We can always handle that,” your boss assured you, “money isn’t that big of an issue…”
You wanted to argue, but your boss shot you a look. You sighed and caved to her wishes.
“Very well then… Is it safe to say that this event will take place on the date agreed upon?” Rei’s boss inquired.
“Yes,” your boss answered before you could input. She lifted her sake glass. “Let us toast to a successful project!”
Glasses were raised, clinking filled the room. As you drank from your cup, you caught Rei’s gaze.
Her eyes reflected the blue of your shirt.
***
“You will probably have to go back yourself,” your boss told you.
“I understand,” you promptly replied, “I will settle my own transport.”
She adjusted the golden earrings dangling from her earlobes.
“Try and make some friends,” she advised, “these types of events are the best way to make connections.”
The elevator door opened, the vastness of the grand ballroom revealing itself to you as you stepped out the doors. You adjusted your suit subconsciously, fiddling with the top button of your jacket. From across the room, Rei’s boss spotted the both of you. He said something to the guests he had been talking to, then brisk walked through the crowd towards the both of you.
“Thank you for coming!” he beamed, “we’re so glad to have you here!”
“Thank you for inviting us,” your boss answered on your behalf.
A week had passed since you had that meeting in the omakase restaurant. Work had been hectic for you and your team, but you managed to pull through the week with just enough sleep to keep you sane. The party invite from Rei’s company came as a welcome surprise, and your team gladly accepted the invitation. You opted to come with your boss after work, letting the rest of your team go off without you.
Now as you stood at a fancy looking table, hiding from social interaction by munching on all sorts of food, you wondered if this was really the break you needed. Now that you thought about it, you would have preferred to stay at home and catch up on the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. Your boss was off talking to Rei’s boss somewhere, you couldn’t really care less.
“Hey.”
You froze. You were hoping that she wouldn’t be here.
There was new weight on your plate. You looked down and saw an eclair sitting on the pristine porcelain.
“Thanks for coming,” Rei smiled, setting down the pair of tongs. “It’s nice to see you again.”
Wordlessly, you stuffed the eclair into your mouth and turned to walk away.
“Can we talk?” she piped. You stopped in your tracks, the pastry you at leaving a strange bitter taste
“What’s there to talk about?” you asked.
She walked around you and stood before you. She was wearing a dress that admittedly looked cute on her, but you didn’t let that comment slip past your lips. The dress was blue, blue like the summer morning sky.
“You know exactly what there is to talk about.”
You chuckled in amusement.
“I thought you said that it was better to leave things as they were?” you sneered.
“I never said that.”
“But you did,” you spat. “You said it right in front of the convenience store.”
She looked away for a moment.
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about…”
You scoffed.
“So this is how it’s gonna be then?” you mused. “You’re just gonna deny our past? Way to let me know I didn’t mean jackshit to you…”
“Stop being immature,” she muttered. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.
“Me? I’m the immature one?” you asked, a generous amount of amusement in your voice. “Who’s the one who conveniently forgot about everything we went through?”
There were eyes on you. You didn’t care.
“Look,” Rei sighed, “we’ll have to work together for the next few weeks… It’ll be better for both of us and our teams if we could just stay on good terms—”
“So what do you expect me to do then?” you interrogated her. “Conveniently forget about everything like you? Sweep everything under the rug and tell everyone that we’re strangers?”
The people around you were silent, watching you with a look of concern. Rei rubbed her brow.
“I… I’m not expecting you to do anything…” she answered.
“Then I won’t do anything,” you proclaimed. “We’ll do like you said, leave things as they are.”
In the same fashion she’d left you, you turned and strode away. It wasn’t till the elevator doors closed in front of you did you let out a small sigh. You leaned back into the elevator wall.
You had a few long weeks ahead of you.
***
She was sitting across you, her eyes reflecting the blue of her computer screen. You didn’t want to admit that you’d been watching her for the past few hours, but you weren’t one to lie. She was focused as usual, her face full of seriousness and determination as her fingers flew across her keyboard.
Seeing her on a daily basis wasn’t easy. Ever since the party, her company and your company had booked a co-working space for your team and their team to collaborate to work on the project at hand. You’d often make eye contact from across the room, feel her gaze on you as you wrote things down in your notebook… The tension was palpable, and your teammates could feel it.
“Yo, what’s up with you and that Naoi girl?” one of them asked over lunch one afternoon.
“Hm?” you asked, hiding the fact that you nearly choked on your tea.
“I mean… I can’t be the only one that notices the way she looks at you right?” he continued, looking around the table. Heads nodded, eyes contained curiosity.
“I uh… I don’t catch your drift,” you lied.
“Aw come on… You like her don’t you?” another piped. “Don’t deny it, we can all feel the tension. Hell, we can almost grab it!”
A laugh went around the room. You chuckled nervously.
“I know that work is boring… But you guys can’t possibly be spinning this bullshit to entertain yourselves,” you joked.
“But—”
“Let’s finish our meals,” you interjected, “we’ve got work to do.”
That was enough to get them to stop prying into your personal life. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to stop them from doing all sorts of funny things. When you walked into the co-working space the next morning, you had to resist the urge to cuss.
They had all rearranged themselves. Somehow, your teammates had managed to get Rei’s teammates on board, seating themselves in such a way so that the only space available was next to Rei. You gripped your notebook with a vice grip, every bit of your willpower stopping you from bashing all of their smirking faces in as you made your way to the sole empty seat.
“Morning,” Rei greeted you. You remained silent and sat down to begin work.
And that was the way things were for the rest of the project. No matter how early you came in, your teammates and Rei’s teammates were somehow there before you. You admired the commitment they had put into forcing a close proximity between the two of you, but you’d have preferred if they could channel this level of commitment into their work instead.
A week before you were due to head to Shibuya, all nighters became a common occurrence for you. As the team leader, your boss expected frequent updates and reports from you, and some of those reports required you to stay up till the wee hours of the morning to be completed. Rei shared a similar problem as her team’s leader, resulting in uncomfortably high amounts of tension when it was just the two of you in the space. She didn’t talk to you, and you didn’t talk to her.
But that Friday night was different. You were packing your things, Rei was still working. As you slipped in your notebook, Rei broke the silence.
“How long are we going to keep acting like this?”
You zipped your bag.
“I didn’t know we were acting…” you muttered. Rei’s hands left the keyboard of her laptop.
“Could we at least talk this out?” she pleaded.
“I thought you forgot about everything?”
Rei leaned back in her chair.
“I… I don’t want to keep this up anymore,” she whispered. “I’m tired… I’m tired of having to pretend that we’re strangers to each other.”
You set your bag down on the table.
“Well… Maybe you should’ve thought about that before conveniently forgetting our past.”
“Don’t—”
“Maybe I’d be more willing to talk to you if you’d just said what you really wanted to say at that party.”
Rei closed her eyes and sighed.
“I’m sorry,” she strained, “is that what you wanted out of me? Did you want me to apologise?”
You rested your hands on the table.
“I don’t want an apology, Rei…” you croaked, “I want a reason. I want to know why we had to break up.”
You let yourself make eye contact with her. She looked hurt, like she was the one that had been walked out on that night.
“You left me without a reason Rei,” you whispered, “You just… Left me in front of that convenience store. I called, I texted… You didn’t reply. You cut me out of your life… I could never understand why.”
Pooling tears reflected the blue of the lights shining in through the windows. She wiped her eyes.
“So why Rei?” you implored, letting a tear run down your cheek, “why did you leave?”
She swallowed back a sob. “I-I… I can’t tell you…”
You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath.
“I guess we’ll never sort this out then,” you warbled, “good talk Rei.”
You shouldered your bag and left.
She called out to you, and it was your turn to not look back.
It started to rain after you left the building. You’d never felt that the weather could fit your mood as much as it did that night.
***
She didn’t come to work the next day. Nor the day after.
“Her Mom called me,” one of her co-workers that was close to her explained. “Apparently she got drunk and sat out on a park bench in the rain. She’s running a fever now… She must’ve been stressed by this project.”
You processed this information.
“Understood,” you replied, “thank you for letting me know.”
In truth, you would have appreciated it if she hadn’t explained why she was absent. You had more things to think about since she’d mentioned it. It made you feel guilty for not saying and talking things out with her like she’d pleaded you to.
Despite your strong sense of priorities, your focus was messed up. You’d like to blame it on the lack of sleep, but you knew that wasn’t true. You caught yourself thinking about her as you poured your morning coffee. You found yourself in a daze when you were waiting in line for lunch. You realised that she’d been on your mind for a whole day when the last team member left for the night and your report was still blank.
On Monday of the next week—two days before you were meant to leave for Shibuya—Rei still hadn’t shown up. That day, you made the executive decision to clock out early on the pretext that you needed some rest.  A phone call to your mother and a twenty minute drive later, you found yourself outside of an apartment door.
It wasn’t any random door. It was Rei’s. Well… Not exactly Rei’s since she still lived with her parents.
“Am I really doing this right now?” you muttered to yourself. You gave yourself a minute to think about what you were about to do.
“I’m just checking in on her… It’s not weird right?”
Everything about that situation felt weird to you.
“Ah fuck it.”
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
“In a minute!” a familiar voice called out from the other end. The sound of sandals shuffling against the floor grew louder as someone approached.
The door opened.
“How can I…”
She stopped mid sentence, trailing off as she looked you up and down. You smiled sheepishly and waved.
“Hello Ms Naoi… Long time no see.”
Re’s mother made a sound, an amalgamation of syllables that tumbled out of her mouth in a jumbled mess.
“What… What are you doing here?” she finally managed to ask.
“I… I heard about Rei,” you explained, “is she alright?”
Ms Naoi looked you in the eye. With a sigh, she opened the door wider and stood aside.
“Come in dear boy… There’s much to be discussed.”
She fixed you a hot cup of green tea, setting it before you on the tatami tea table that you recognised from your childhood. Rei’s mother knelt down on the cushion opposite you.
“How have you been?” she asked warmly.
“I’ve been… Alright I suppose,” you answered. Ms Naoi smiled and nodded.
“You look healthy and well…” she remarked, “you’ve grown so much since I last saw you… When was that again?”
“It was… Quite some time ago,” you replied. To be exact, it was 8 years ago. The last time you ever saw Ms Naoi was 2 months before you broke up with Rei. You were over at their place, helping them fix an Ikea shelf because her father had back problems and couldn’t get it done himself.
“Where’s Mr Naoi?” you inquired, the short jog of your memory suddenly making you aware of the fact that Rei’s father was nowhere to be seen. Rei’s mother sighed.
“He’s dead,” she stated solemnly, “he’s left us for some time now… Car crash.”
You blinked.
“O-Oh,” you sputtered, “I… I didn’t know…”
“It’s alright,” she assured you, “you and Rei had split by then, and I’m not the type to tell the whole world that my husband is dead… How would you have known?”
Ms Naoi sipped from her own tea cup. You looked around the house. It was smaller than the original apartment, but cosy nonetheless. Your mother did explain that they’d shifted here for cheaper rent. Monetary problems were your best guess.
“I understand that you and Rei have… Reacquainted,” she began, setting down her cup. You shifted on your seat.
“I-In a way,” you answered.
Rei’s mother nodded silently.
“How do you feel about her?”
She’d caught you off guard. You expected her to ease into the hard questions, maybe ask you a little more about the type of work you and Rei were doing… You didn’t think she’d launch such a question 2 minutes into the conversation.
“I… I-I don’t get what you mean,” you lied.
Rei’s mother rested her hands on the tea table. Time had not been kind to her. She looked visibly worn, wrinkles covering her once smooth and lively face. Her fingers were filled with calluses, wrinkled and bony—A far cry from the gentle, warm hands that used to serve you a snack whenever you were over at Rei’s house.
“Rei… Rei has been thinking about you alot,” she informed you. “She’s been restless since you two started working together… I hardly see her sleep for more than four hours.”
Ms Naoi wrung her hands.  “She missed you terribly after you both split up… I thought that her final rejection letter from the idol industry would be the most she’d ever cry. I was… So, so wrong.”
You stared at her bony fingers, unable to form sentences to communicate your thoughts.
“She never told you why she wanted to break up, did she?”
You found the courage to look Rei’s mother in the eye. Slowly, you shook your head. Ms Naoi let out a breath. “After her father’s back problems got worse, we entered a rough patch. Money was dwindling, times were tough. I had to take on two job’s to keep us afloat… And I overworked myself one day and collapsed.”
Ms Naoi fiddled with her index finger.
“Rei didn’t want me to overexert myself, so she took on part time jobs to help chip in to stabilise our income…”
“That’s why she couldn’t meet me as much…” you whispered.
Rei’s mother nodded. “Yes…”
Your eyes seemed to focus on one spot on the table. Those loose ends were coming together now, questions that’d been on your mind slowly answering themselves as you made new connections with the new information given to you.
“I always thought that you were the one that broke her heart,” Ms Naoi chuckled, “I never thought that my daughter would be the one to leave you. She loved you so, so much… So much to the point where I thought she loved you more than me.”
There was a moment of silence as Ms Naoi stared at her hands.
“But when I found her on that park bench two nights before, I realised how wrong I was.”
She looked like she was about to cry. You spotted a tissue box at the edge of the table. Wordlessly, you grabbed it and slid it across the table. She smiled gratefully and pulled a single sheet of tissue.
“When Rei’s drunk… The things she hides all come pouring out. That night, she talked about you. She told me everything she’d hidden from you… And from me.”
Rei’s mother dabbed her eyes.
“That girl… That stupid stupid girl…” she laughed softly, “why did she keep all that to herself?”
You awkwardly cleared your throat and asked, “What did she say?”
Ms Naoi sipped from her cup.
“I can’t give you the full rundown of what she told me, but I’ll give you something that I think she needs some help conveying to you.”
Rei’s mother reached over and held your hand.
“I think… She still loves you. She always has.”
***
She still loves you. She always has
A car drove by.
She still loves you. She always has
You walked across the road.
She still loves you. She always has
The asphalt seemed to reflect that very line. Sensory overload was what you felt like you were experiencing—The sun was setting behind the buildings, birds flew, trees swayed… You were suddenly aware of all the smallest movements around you. On the bench, you folded your legs in and stared into the sky. The sea of endless blue was slowly beginning to bleed gold.
“I need a fucking beer,” you decided.
And so you got one. From the nearby convenience store, you got yourself an icy cold Asahi, cracked it open, and took a small sip. You wanted a drink, but you didn’t want to get drunk.
The beer helped to ground you in reality, the ringing in your ears slowly fading as you stepped out of the convenience store. Just down the road, a vendor was selling sweet potatoes.
Dinner.
Beer. Sweet Potatoes. Park. To you, that was the perfect recipe for alone time. With your back against a tree and your eyes closed, you let yourself process the churning feeling in your chest. You were no stranger to this feeling. Your hand ran through your hair as you let out a frustrated sigh. The churn in your chest was nothing but a jumbled up, churned, mixed amalgamation of emotions. It was funny how one girl could make you feel the way you felt.
Memories came and went in your head, moments that defined your relationship with Rei replaying like they had when you saw her in that omakase restaurant. A personal cinema in your mind, complete with surround sound and every single emotion you’ve ever felt with her. The blue of your past.
“Hey.”
You opened your eyes. She was standing in front of you, dressed in a blue cardigan and her hair looking akin to a crow’s nest.
“Aren’t you sick?” you asked.
“Not really. I just took an extra rest day.”
Silence.
“By the way… Is ‘Hey’ the only word you know how to greet me with?” you continued. She didn’t reply, opting to settle down next to you. You didn’t move away.
“Figured I’d find you here,” she said, “you dropped by our place?”
“So she told you,” you remarked, “I did drop by. Tell your Mom I’m sorry that I didn’t touch my tea by the way.”
Rei nodded and set her gaze forward. Before you, there were two children tossing a baseball back and forth. The blue of youth.
“What did Mom say?”
“Not much…  She didn’t disclose any secrets if that’s what you’re wondering.”
She chuckled softly. Even though her voice changed, her laugh stayed the same. The blue of your memories.
“Why did you drop by?” she inquired.
“You haven’t come to work for three days. I wanted to see how you were doing…”
She rubbed her palms on her jeans.
“So… You came on purely a work basis then…”
You sighed.
“Not really… It was more personal than anything.”
She stared at you for a moment.
“I… I suppose we should talk,” she whispered.
You folded your legs up. “I was just about to say that.”
You glanced over at her. She was fiddling with the sleeves of her cardigan. You held your beer can out to her.
She looked at it for a moment, then she took it and took a swig.
“You go first,” you prompted. She removed the can from her lips.
“Right…” she muttered, “I guess I should.”
She handed the can back to you.
“Mom told you what happened to my dad, right?”
“Mhm.”
“Then you know why I started working.”
“Yep…”
“And now you’re probably wondering why I didn’t say anything to you.”
You didn’t want to admit it, but you knew that this was the time to tell the truth.
“Yes,” you replied. You heard her head thump against the bark of the tree.
“Well I… I’ll just be frank with you. I didn’t want your help.”
You stayed silent to let her continue. She did.
“I knew that you’d do everything you could to help us out. The prospect of you diving headfirst into my problems scared me, because I knew that you had a tendency to over commit.”
She wasn’t wrong. In junior high, you committed at least half of your time there into baseball, thinking that you’d grow up to be a big shot pitcher when you grew up. No one ever had the heart to tell you that you sucked mega balls at the sport, but you learnt the hard way when you left junior high without ever playing a single baseball game for your school.
“And… That was the exact reason why I broke up with you.”
You raised an eyebrow, failing to make a link between her predicament and your break up. Thankfully, Rei was thorough with her explanations.
“I knew that if I didn’t leave you, you’d find out eventually, and you’d want to help. Then I’d have to reject you, then we’ll argue and… I-I couldn’t go through that cycle. Yes, it’s selfish. Yes, it’s an assumption. But I… I just had this feeling that I’d rope you into my mess if you started to help us out.”
Her voice was wavering by the second. You didn't look at her because you knew that seeing her cry would make you cry too.
“I had to save you from myself so… I left,” she finished. “That’s… That’s it…”
There was a moment of silence as the long unanswered question had finally been brought to a close. With a sigh, you readjusted your seating position.
“I suppose it’s my turn then,” you mused.
“Yea… I-I’m listening.”
You’d been thinking about this moment for a while. You had a plan on what to say, what you’d do, how you’d convey your pain and anguish into coherent sentences… But now that the moment was here, your grand speech had been lost in your mind. didn’t know what to say to her.
With as much courage as you could muster, you opened your eyes and turned your head to Rei. You didn’t know what to make of the look that she gave you, but past her tear-glazed gaze, you could make out the blue that always seemed to be reflected by her eyes.
It was the blue of youth.
It was the blue of your past.
It was the blue of your memories.
It was the blue of your love.
Blue was the colour of the night sky—the setting of when you made that promise to never forget each other. Blue was the colour of your uniform—the clothes that you’d accepted her confession in. Blue was the colour of the summer sky—the sky that you shared so many kisses with her. So many things, moments, emotions… All dumbed down into one simple colour.
And within Rei’s eyes, that was where your blue was. The blue resided there. The blue remained clear.
“Forgive me but… I’m going to curse at you Rei.”
She sat there. Her mouth hung open ever so slightly, her mind unable to fathom what she could possibly say. A tear rolled down your cheek, summer-like colours dazzling your vision. Rei squeezed her eyes shut.
“Let it out,” she warbled. “Let’s fight it out if we have to.”
You stayed silent for a moment, thumbing the tab of your beer. The direction you were taking with this would be a far cry from Rei’s long-winded, heartfelt explanation. But then again… The curse of you being different from her still remained. Whether it pushed her away or pulled her back was in your hands
So you looked her in the eye and released the curse that had been stuck at the back of your throat.
“I’m still fucking in love with you Rei.”
You weren’t sure why you had to phrase it in such a strong way, but it simply felt right in your head. Rei watched you carefully, as if waiting for you to continue, but you had nothing left to say.
“Is that it? Is that your thing now? Giving me one-liners and leaving it as that?”
You could only stare at your beer can.
“I’ve never been good with words Rei… You know that…”
She went silent for a moment.
“Neither of us have been good at communicating,” she remarked, pushing her hair back behind her ear. “It’s one hell of a problem isn’t it?”
She was right. Neither of you were able to communicate how you truly felt about each other up until that point. Finding the words to tell her how you still loved her was hard, so hard that you had to cuss just to get your point across. It felt rather bleak, even pathetic to an extent if you had to admit.
“I guess that’s one similarity between us,” you chuckled. “Looks like the curse of us being different isn’t as prominent as we thought.”
The corners of Rei’s lips turned up into a smile, one of fondness. “Right… That curse.”
She reached out her hand. You handed her the beer can. She tossed her head back and took a swig.
“Since we’re out here airing our thoughts… Can I say something else?”
“Not gonna stop you.”
Rei set the can between the two of you.
“That night, I told you that you were the easiest thing I could let go of… Do you remember that?”
It was hard to forget. She’d devastated you with that line, left you questioning your self worth for an extensive period of time. Of course you remembered what she said.
“Mhm,” you hummed.
Rei sat there for a moment.
“That… That was a lie,” she uttered. “It was a lie… You were the hardest thing to let go of.”
You had a feeling she’d say something along those lines. But you still chuckled and said, “Really?”
Rei wiped her eyes. “Yes…”
You sat on it for a moment, then you asked, “why?”
“Because I loved you. You were the world to me.”
Loved. Were. Past tense. You wondered if what Rei’s mother had disclosed was true.
“And what about now?”
She glanced at you. “What do you mean?”
“How do you feel about me now?”
Her lips curled into her teeth.
“I still love you… I always have.”
Ah… There it was. You’d heard it from her mother, you’d heard it from her. Thesis confirmation.
Your sweet potatoes had gone cold inside the paper bag. You hadn’t touched it since you bought it.
“You know Rei… I’ve thought about what I’d do if you ever told me that you still loved me,” you chuckled. “I had a whole speech planned and everything.”
Your fingers gripped a blade of grass and plucked it out of the ground as you vocalised your thoughts. “But now that you’ve actually said it… I don’t know what to tell you anymore.”
“Neither do I,” she replied.
You caught her gaze. She held it.
You blinked.
She surged.
When her lips pressed against yours, your senses stripped from you as everything went still for a second.  For a moment and only a moment, it felt like all the wrongs in the world had been righted, a void in your chest made whole. It was only when your back hit the grass did your senses come back to you—A sudden wave of sound, a burst of colour, the smell of her hair, the taste of her lips, the feel of her body pressed up against your chest on the grass. Your hand instinctively wrapped itself around her waist, holding her close to your body as she kissed you gently, tenderly; letting the kiss burn on your lips for as long as she could allow it.
The blasted need to breathe eventually interrupted. Her lips pulled back. Her eyes fluttered open. There on the grass, in front of a bunch of people who were probably giving you the oddest of looks, Naoi Rei had made the first move on you once more. At this point, it was made clear what you were to each other.
Your voice faltered, a hot tear rolling down your cheek as you called her name. “Rei…”
“Yea?”
Her face fit right into the indent of your palm, a familiarity in the sensation of her warm cheek in your hand.
“Please keep loving me. Don’t let me go again…”
Her hand clutched the fabric of your shirt, gently tugging on your t-shirt; pulling you closer.
“I don’t plan to go anywhere,” she replied. “I’m staying… For good this time.”
Everything about the situation felt so right. Once more, reminiscent of that time on the rooftop under the clear blue sky, your lips found hers. A shared breath, a shared moment. Her body felt warm against yours, her hands finding their place on either side of your face, as if she believed you might disappear if she ever let go of you again.
It was a gentle kiss, one of passion and of love.
It was a gentle kiss, one of longing and of need.
Your blue was becoming clearer than ever.
“Take me out,” she whispered. “Somewhere, anywhere… I just want to be with you.”
Your lips curled into a smile. “Aren’t you supposed to tell your Mom that I’m sorry for not drinking the tea?”
“Fuck that,” she giggled. “Take me somewhere.”
You thought about it for a moment.
“How does a tour of my place sound?”
***
Courage. That’s what it took in that moment to bridge the gap between you and Rei. It felt awkward to be vulnerable around her once more, to be honest and speak your mind around her. You had to re-open old wounds to re-establish that connection between the two of you.
But the effort paid off.
With her back pressed against your apartment wall, your tongue dug into her mouth. She held your face tightly in her grasp, pulling you in, pulling you closer. She wasn’t going to let go, neither were you.
“Fuck… I forgot how good that felt,” she rasped.
“I’ve always been a good kisser,” you winked back.
“Now I’ve got a curse for you—Shut the fuck up.”
Your hand reached under her chin. “Make me.”
She did just that.
Stumbling, pressing, pulling, tugging… She was far from gentle as she forced her lips on yours. Wild? Frantic? You had no words that could describe how rough she was. You weren’t too sure how you got into the bedroom, and you sure as hell weren’t sure about how your hand ended up beneath Rei’s jeans, but you knew that she was so incredibly needy.
A smack of her lips. She broke away from you.
“You always liked to rush into things,” she mused as she watched you unbutton her jeans.
“And you always talked a lot… Where do you find the energy to speak this much?”
Her jeans slide off her legs with ease.
“I dunno… Where do you find the energy to read manga after work?”
“How do you know what I do after work?”
She pointed off to the side. You followed her gaze to the shelf next to your bed.
“Still into Jujutsu Kaisen huh?”
You chuckled.  “Uh huh… But I’m into something new now…”
She smirked. “Let me guess… Me?”
She was spot on.
You took off your shirt. She unbuttoned her cardigan.
Unfasten, remove. Unfasten, remove.
Skin to skin, you pressed your lips on hers. Your hands found the cool skin of her tummy, her hands rested on your shoulders.
“You have a great body Rei,” you told her.
“Thanks… I’m rather proud of it.”
“As you should be.”
Her hands held your forearms, breath on your neck. Her bra was still on her.
“May I take that off?” you politely requested.
“I dunno…” she smirked, “do I want to let you take it off?”
“That’s up to you.”
With a smile, she reached behind her back.  “Give it a second… It takes a bit of manoeuvring.”
“I’m not planning to go anywhere,” you grinned.
Her eyes met yours. Within Naoi Rei was your blue.
“Neither am I.”
click
The fabric atop her chest loosened. Left strap, right strap. Off her body and onto the floor. Simple, quick and alluring. Rounded, shaped and inviting—Her tits sat proudly atop her chest, light nipples standing at attention. You found yourself gawking, a tightness growing in your underwear.
“It’s… It’s rude to stare you know,” she quipped.
You snapped out of it. “Sorry.”
“You better be… Did your mother not teach you how you should behave with a woman?”
You rolled your eyes. “Don’t bring my Mom into this.”
“I bet she’d be real disappointed if—”
Her gasp tore through her sentence. Your mouth found its place on her left breast, gently sucking on the nub atop the mound. Her hand slipped beneath the waistband of her panties.
“You’re so fucking wet,” you grinned.
“All… Your fault,” she manages to retort, a hint of feistiness in her rebuttal.
“You’re right. Let me take care of it.”
Your digits slipped past the dripping folds, entering the warmth of her insides as you started to feel around inside of her. Juices coated your fingers, flowing from the tip of your pointer to the base of your wrist. Sighs filled your ears.
“Baby…” she whined. Her hips bucked when you found the soft patch of flesh on the roof of her walls. She didn’t hold back on her cries when you began to wiggle your fingers, fingertips vibrating back and forth about the same spot as she squirmed on the bed. Luscious thighs clamped around your hand, locking your wrist in place while you worked your magic on her. Her front teeth revealed themselves when she bit down on her lower lip.
“So… Good…” was all she could say. Wracked with pleasure, driven by need… Rei was a work of art. “L-Like that… Just like that!”
You never remembered her to be this wanton. Then again, it was your first time with her. It was a new side to Rei, a breath of fresh air from the usual cutesy, lovey girl that she was around you. You never knew that she was so well endowed. Then again, Rei never wore anything that flaunted the curves of her body or the swell of her breasts. It was all new to you, a new sensation, a new feel.  Her hips were bucking. Filth continued to pour out of her parted lips. Your mouth found itself back on her erect nipples, giving them the attention that they deserved. Her hand found your head, nails digging into the back of your skull.
“That’s it… Suck them…” she rasped. “Suck my tits, they're yours…”
Your eyes caught hers as you looked up.  “All mine?”
She nodded furiously. “All… Yours.”
A flurry of motion. Your fingers exit her. Rei’s panties are removed, thrown somewhere in your room. In a matter of seconds, you're positioned above her, cock lined up with her flushed lips.
“I’m gonna own you Rei,” you growled.
With visibly flushed cheeks, she smirked and challenged your gaze. “Less talk. More action.”
You entered her with one firm, strong stroke, burying yourself inside the tight flesh of her body. Rei lets a long, drawn-out moan out as she’s filled with your cock. The moan soon turned into a long string of pleasurable sounds as you began fucking her. Her thighs opened, spread and stayed that way as you begin to fuck her with quick and strong thrusts, firmly spearing yourself within her and making sure she felt each entry and exit in and out of her tight body.
Your delight peaked at the sight before you—Those perfect curves of hers, those large round breasts and her full, flushed thighs bouncing and quivering with each thrust. Her eyes were half-lidded with pleasure, locked on yours from the moment you entered. The blue was replaced with lust and need.
“So fucking good…” she moaned. “More… Give me more…”
You entered her harder, deeper. You move your palm up her body to capture one of her bouncing breasts. The feel of her sweat beneath your skin as you palmed the soft flesh was titillating. Her hardened nipple poked out between your fingers as you squeezed the sensitive flesh with your hand. Rei clasped your hand on her tits with one of her own. She squeezed your hand, passionate and encouraging, urging you to tighten your grip on her mounds. The soft curse that escaped her lips when you obliged told you everything she wanted you to know—She wanted it. She wanted you.
“I’m gonna cum,” she said. The way she conveyed it only urged you to do more. Your movements became more urgent. Though your own orgasm was building, you resolved to make sure she enjoyed hers first.
The hand clutching yours on her breast squeezed your own tighter and tighter. With her body almost completely flushed against yours you increased the tempo of your hips as they crashed against hers. Your hand left her breasts, sliding down to grip her full hips, pulling her into your crotch as you thrusted into her. You slammed her against your body even as you thrusted deep with your shaft, impaling her as hard as you could with each thrust.
“Oh God!,” Rei cursed, “I’m gonna cum so hard! Oh! I’m so close… I’m gonna cum… I’m gonna—”
You silence her with a hand around her throat. “Do it, Rei. Cum for me.”
A dark look crossed Rei’s face. As if on command, Rei did just that. You watched as she was ruined by pleasure, losing control of her movements as she withered helplessly on top of your mattress. Her pussy pulsated around you, tightening and loosening, clamping down fiercely around your shaft. Her mouth opened—a soft, strained moan, one of pure pleasure, a gentle release of emotion. You released the hand around her throat.
You slowed your thrusts, letting her slowly wind down from the high while keeping your own orgasm at bay. Sweat glistened on her milky skin, her chest heaving. Her eyes were shut, lips parted to let sweet, fresh oxygen enter her body as she breathed deeply.
“Why… Are you so good at this?” she huffed.
“I think I’m just a natural,” you grinned.
Rei rolled her eyes. “You little narcissist. Come here.”
Her lips graced yours. The must of her sweat was wafting into your nose now, but you couldn’t care less.
“Hey,” she called after you’d broken the seal. “You’re my first…”
You let that sink in. “Really?”
She nodded. “Yep… One and only baby…”
“Wow… I guess I’m… Honoured?” you responded. Rei laughed and pushed your hair out of your eyes.
“Now’s not the time to tell me how you feel,” she lectured, “now’s the time to make me scream and make a mess out of your place.”
“We’ll have to clean up though…”
She smacked you on the shoulder. “Figure of speech dummy.”
You chuckled. “You know me—I’m bad with words.”
Rei giggled, resting a hand on your chest.
“But you’re not too bad with your actions,” she simpered, “so why don’t you talk less and do more?”
You challenged the jeer head on. “You sure?”
She sat on it for a moment. A familiar grin made its way up her face.
“Are you gonna make me change my mind?” she asked.
“Depends… What if I can?”
“I’ll… Buy you lunch for a month.”
You let yourself grin. “Same wager as last time huh?”
“I guess,” she shrugged. “Now how expensive is your couch?”
***
You were certain that you were bleeding from at least four points on your head, but you didn’t really care. Rei’s nails dug into your skull, acute pricks of pain littering your skull as she moaned your name. You’d found another way to make her squirm.
Your mouth on her crotch drove her off the rails, the loud gasp that left her throat being the biggest indication. You delivered long, slow licks from bottom to top, the flat of your tongue covering every bit of her pussy before settling on her clit. You swirled the tip of it around the hard little bud, bittersweet and tangy taste of her juices flooding your mouth. Her warm, sticky thighs wrapped themselves around your face, keeping you right where you want to be—Between the pillow heaven of her thighs and right in front of that dripping slit.
“Oh… Oh fuck… You eat me… So good,” Rei drawled. Her voice had taken on a new tone, the pleasure coursing through her body filling the filth spilling forth with generous amounts of need.
She’d make a great singer. You thought to yourself as she started to practically flatten you on her pussy. You wondered why all those agencies turned down a honey sweet voice like hers.
Then again, she wouldn’t be moaning the way she was in an audition. Maybe she would if it was a casting call.
“Oh keep going… I’m so close,” Rei rasped, hips thrusting upwards in a desperation to chase her second orgasm for the night. You were happy to make her cum as many times as she liked. Your goal was to divulge every single method that would make her squirm after all.
Pure filth—raw, unfiltered curses and explanations began streaming out of those parted lips. Her body tensed, her eyes rolled.
The quickly built orgasm took Rei completely by surprise. She twitched, quivered, writhed on your couch as the pleasure completely overwhelmed her. You could hardly hold on to her wildly shaking thighs, struggling to keep your mouth locked onto her crotch as she thrashed about. Her sweet fluids dribbled down your chin, dripping onto your couch and ensuring you a rather complicated clean up. A future problem for future you to solve.
She pushed you off her, her upper limit reached. Her head hit the cushioning of the couch, tremulous legs barely able to stay upright.
“Change your mind yet?” you jeered.
“Fuck… You…” she managed to spit.
“Ah… Guess not,” you huffed.
Maybe you needed something fresh…
***
“B-Baby…”
With her slim tummy pressed up against your kitchen counter, you pushed her hair over her shoulder so that you could see the delicious curve of her back. You looked down, watching as your rock hard cock disappeared and reappeared between the folds of her tight little pussy. Your shaft glistened with her fluids, lubricating your member to the point where you were sliding in and out of her almost effortlessly.
“Harder,” she pleaded, “fuck me harder…”
Both your hands reached around her small frame to fondle those amazing breasts. “You sure.”
She nodded vigorously.
“I’m a good girl… I can take it…” she whined, “Please… Give it to me…”
There was something about the way she vocalised her infinite need. A certain feel, a certain tone… Whatever it was, a dark part of you relished the way she pleaded to be fucked the way she liked it.
It turned you on to no end.
Your right hand tore itself away from her breast, snaking up her collarbone and wrapping itself around her throat. Without warning, you applied pressure to her windpipe. A raspy gasp left her as you start to properly fuck her, giving it to her just the way she wants.
“Yes… Y-Yes baby…” she mewled, “fuck me… Fuck me like this… Own me.”
She had said it. She was yours for the taking.
Drilling in and out of the tight hot warmth of her body, you railed her with quick deep strokes. With each stroke, you concentrated on pumping hard and fast, filling her as much as you could while you relished the tightness of the flesh wrapped around your cock. Skin slapped against skin, mixing with the delightful squelch of her pussy as the two sound waves mixed into an arousing symphony of pleasure. To top it all off, Rei’s strained cries floated above the sounds, filling your ears and filling your desire to make her quiver on your cock.
“Ugh…” Rei strained. She was gripping the counter with a knuckle-white grip, desperately trying to release her pleasure somewhere, anywhere. Her tightness was overwhelming—overwhelmingly tight and hot, overwhelmingly wet and slick. It grasped you tightly with each entrance, just like a glove. It sucked you in, held you, then released you. It was working all sorts of wonders on your body.
“God Rei… I love your tight little pussy,” you growled into her ear. The hand around your throat limits her to a series of grunts and moans to reply to you. You pinched her nipple with your free hand. Her pussy clenched tighter around you. Her hand finds your one on her throat. She squeezed it tighter.
“Har… Der…”
You weren’t one to refuse.
You were practically ramming yourself against her. All the while, her eyes are glued to yours as she looks over her shoulder at you, those eyes glazed with pleasure and lust and just a hint of blue in her eyes, face twisted in a vinous mix of pain and pleasure—unfiltered lust.
Soon Rei was cumming. Her mouth opened in a frozen, wordless “O”, her body tightening and pulsing around you. Her small, curvy frame quivered and shook as she momentarily lost control of herself for the nth time that night. You slowed your thrusts, gradually coming to a stop just as the tingle in your shaft was at its peak. You wanted to save the load for when she officially changed her mind.
You almost forget about your hand clasped around her throat as you watched her cum. It was only when she frantically tapped on your hand did you release her throat from your grasp. She gasped, sweet sweet oxygen refilling her lungs as she slumped forward on your kitchen counter.
“Shit… You okay Rei?” you asked with genuine concern. She gulped down another breath of air.
“I… Still… Don’t change…” she panted. She didn’t need to complete her sentence, you knew what she meant.
“Feisty little duckling,” you sighed. It was getting frustrating. Your cock was aching for the sweet release of your orgasm.
But your ego wouldn’t let you cum before she yielded. You decided that perhaps a nice warm shower could change her mentality.
***
The warm water fell over both of your bodies. Her skin took on a smooth, creamy and quality as it flowed over her perfect body, flowing over her round breasts and flying from her outstretched toes as her legs shook with each thrust. Blonde hair was plastered to her face, her cute features twisted by lust and pleasure. Nails dug into your back, arms pressing you tighter against her. Her pulsing pussy tightened around your shaft, a sign of yet another impending orgasm. You redouble your efforts.
“Cumming… Again?” you half grunted, half teased.
“Yes! Oh fuck I’m so close!” she shamelessly admitted.
Adjusting your grip on her tender ass, you lengthened your thrusts. Deep, hard and fast—you fucked Rei with her back against the cool tile, eliciting cries that echoed throughout your shower. Rei wrapped her legs around your waist, spreading her legs wider for you to get as deep as you could possibly go. She was holding on, grounding herself in the midst of her pleasure while she was being fucked senseless.
“Fuck Rei,” you hissed. “You're so fucking tight.”
“So… Full…” she managed. “I’ll… Never… Fuck…”
She could barely form sentences, the corner of her brain in charge of that rendered useless by the throbbing, rock hard meat that relentlessly slid in and out of her pussy. You had been relentless with your assault, thrusting frantically between her thighs from the get go. Your pride didn’t allow you to cum before Rei yielded. Till she did, you would gladly fuck her, finger her, eat her out… You’d make her cum a hundred times over if it meant beating her.
You shouldn’t be this competitive considering the fact you’d just reunited with her, but something about the carnal way you fucked her and the cries you forced out of that mouth of hers made you believe that she’s enjoying every second of what was happening. She wanted it, loved it, needed it. She was about to break soon, you could feel it.
Her will finally snapped, the last straw on the camel's back laid. Willingly, she dug her face into the crook of your neck.
“Fuck the wager… I… I just need you,” she admitted. “Please… Cum together with me.”
A small sense of euphoria filled you, but it was quickly replaced by the pent up lust within your being. For the next few minutes there were no more words, only the sound of wet flesh hitting wet flesh and the long, uninterrupted stream of wordless moans escaping Rei’s mouth as she willingly gave in to you against the shower wall. Forehead against hers, your measure ploughed her wet, hot pussy again and again, her tight body rocked from head to toe with each impact of your crotch against her own.
Then in a moment of sheer bliss, you both groaned and succumbed to your orgasms. The pleasure that flooded your body was indescribable, warm, hot semen erupts from your shaft into Rei’s pulsating, welcoming depths that milked you of every last drop. Basking in the intimate moment, you held her close to you, her breath filling your ear to the backdrop of the falling water.
When you pulled out of her, a thick load came oozing out of her creamy little pussy. Her eyes opened, held your gaze… You let yourself swim in the blue that had found its way back into her eyes, as if it never left this whole time.
“I guess… I changed my mind,” she panted. You chuckled weakly.
“That’s what I thought.”
***
As it would turn out, you’d share a lot more firsts with Rei. Her first time buying a Shinkansen bento, her first ride on a Shinkansen, her first time out of Nagoya… You had the privilege of enjoying these experiences that were all new to her by her side. You’d forgotten what it was like to have her in your life, but the familiarity of dating Rei would come back sooner than you thought.
Kisses, hugs, whispers.
“I love you”s, jokes, petty bickering.
Her hand in yours, the blue in her eyes, that smile on her face.
It all felt so nostalgic, teenage years flying right before your eyes. You’d both aged, but you were both the same teenagers that fell in love all those years ago. She was your everlasting blue, a blue that would never go out of style.
One new thing in your relationship was working together. She had a serious side to her that you were getting familiar with, and she was getting used to your task oriented nature. Notebooks filled with your different handwritings, diagrams were analysed and discussed. You wondered why you never got to work with her sooner.
Another thing that was new was the sex and the fact that you were working together now. The night before you were both scheduled to leave, you’d learnt that she could fit your whole length into her mouth without gagging. The morning you were set to leave, you learnt that she loved the feeling of being choked while taking your cock in and out of her dripping pussy. The night you got back to the hotel after a briefing, you learnt that she had a tendency to let her hands drift all over you in the shower. She also had a tendency to moan extra loudly while you fucked her atop the sink.
New day, new things.
“You ever think about dying sometimes?”
You raised your head from your notebook to stare at Rei. With her head resting on a pillow, she stared up at the ceiling.
“Where is this coming from?” you couldn’t help but ask.
Rei shrugged. “Dunno… Just thought about it…”
“That is a horrible way to think…”
“And this is coming from the guy working at 10pm?”
You shut the book and sighed.
“Someone has to be responsible…”
“And that’s my problem because?”
Your lips formed a thin line. You smacked her with your book.
She yelped. “Hey!”
“Cry about it,” you replied.
Rei pouted and sat up. “So this is what I get for trying to initiate conversation.”
“Who starts a conversion by talking about death?” you questioned.
“Me, dummy,” she retorted.
“I worry for your boss… He wants you to talk to clients?”
She snatched your book away from you. “Nag, nag nag… Jesus, you’re like my Mom!”
You clicked your tongue and snatched your book right back.
“Someone has to parent your childish ass,” you muttered.
Rei’s haughty expression softened.
“Yea…” she chuckled. “Guess you’re the best person to take care of me huh?”
You let out a small laugh. She shifted herself closer to you.
“You okay?” she asked you. You nodded.
“I’m fine…” you assured her, “just a little tired”
“It’s fine,” she brushed it off, “I understand.”
Rei yawned next to you. You slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer to you as you opened your notebook back up.
“You wanna know something?” she asked.
“What?”
She rested her head on her shoulder. A soft, warm whisper filled your ear. “I love you.”
You didn’t need to look into her eyes to know that the blue was being reflected in her eyes. Your blue would always reside there after all.
For she was Naoi Rei—The girl that shattered your heart and put it back together again. She loved you. She always did.
And you loved her too.

Hey, I love your work and was wondering if you could do a Rhea Ripley x Fem Reader where the reader got pregnant before Rhea and her started dating and she's scared to tell Rhea that she's pregnant but instead of breaking up with the reader Rhea is super supportive and treats the reader like she's having her kid.
If you can't that's okay.

Warnings: comfort, cussing
It’s been a few months since you found out you were pregnant, you had a hookup with one of the wrestlers at a party. You were so drunk that you couldn’t remember who it was. Now here you are three months pregnant and you were starting to show. You had to call wwe and tell them how far along you were and now you have to tell your girlfriend Rhea ripley.
You and Rhea started dating about two months ago but have known each other for years. You were beyond nervous because she’s at the top of the game right now, she doesn’t want to have to deal with a baby, but those thoughts were pushed away when there was a knock on the door. You put on one of rheas sweatshirts that she left over at your house and went downstairs to the door. You opened it and there was your girlfriend/best friend standing there with a smile on her face.
“Hey babygirl.” She said softly as she enveloped you in a tight hug which made you squeak out. She pulled back slightly to look at your face. “Are you okay?” She asked worried. You gave her a small smile and nodded as you let her inside your house. She walked in and wraps her arms around your waist “I’ve missed my girl…how have you’ve been?” She asked you as she led you to the couch and plopped down on it and pulled you on her lap. “I’ve been okay…what about you?” You said trying to avoid the confession you need to tell her.
“It’s been okay. Just busy working out and wrestling. You know how it is.” She said as you just nodded. She noticed how quiet you’ve become and she rubs your back soothingly. “What’s going on possum?” Rhea asked gently. “I’m pregnant…” you blurted out and shock was written all over her face. “W-what?” She mumbled out. “A few months ago when we went to that party? Apparently I slept with someone when I was drunk because I don’t remember a thing and now I’m three months pregnant!” You said as tears prickled your eyes.
Rhea didn’t say anything and you figured that she was going to break up with you and never want to have anything to do with you again. You started sobbing and Rhea immediately got out of her head and started comforting you. “Hey shhh shh it’s okay baby it’s okay. I’m not leaving you. Im sorry I got quiet, I’m just shocked is all but I’m not leaving I promise.” She said quickly, trying to calm you down. You looked at her in shock and sniffled. “Y-you aren’t l-leaving m-me?” You managed to say as you try not to keep crying.
“No I’m not leaving. We’ve been best friends for years and now you are my girlfriend. Nothing could ever make me leave you.” She said as she looked deep into your eyes and stroke your cheek softly. You keep sniffling and smiled at her. “Thank you….” You said softly as you lean down and plant a soft kiss to her forehead. “No worries possum. This baby will be like my own. I’ll be here for you every step of the way, through nausea, the pain, the mood swings, the cravings you want me to wake up in the middle of the night for. Everything. I’m here and I’m staying.” She said lovingly and you started crying again but this time it’s happy tears. You were beyond happy and so was rhea.
A/n: thank you @drsheperd-bartley18 for the request! I hope you liked it. And I hope the rest of y’all like it too! Remember to stay hydrated and to rest! I love y’all :)
