For the cafe collabs for nademono I always imagined a 5 piece but after thinking I realize a 4 piece with a sauce would also make sense

You see if you get 4 different fried things and a sauce it adds differentiations to the concept of them being written and drawn as dipping in sauce is like dipping a pen in ink + you can even write a nadeko signature at the bottom as a concept.

However the reverse could also work, one type of fried dish with 4 sauces on the side as a representation of nadeko putting on different forms of nadeko to become a different facet of self.

There’s a lot of ways to go about it tbh, I could also see them doing yakisoba bc that’s just Nadeko’s actual favorite food. They haven’t been doing noodles for Nadeko collab dishes just for the hair bit.

Granted they could always go for the 5 dessert plan or a thing with 4 distinct toppings/things on a greater object that is nadeko.

I don’t see society as ready for the 5 layer nadeko dish/drink. I think tart flavors better represent nadeko for sweet things bc of the clash of sweet and not and the tartness of a dish can be raised relative to arc, I think a nadeko drink should be a “pick me up” but not super refreshing. Refreshingness in my mind is a sliding scale relative to character vibes or coping mechanisms or openings. But that’s not the same as how caffeinated or how sweet a drink is. And the type of refreshing also depends on the vibes. Does one think of sodachi as more affogato or dalgona? Or is she more of a fruit based drink with egg foam or cheese foam (that may or may not be caffeinated)? That’s up to personal interpretation. I think Nadeko for desserts leans for fruitier tastes bc of fruit and flower symbolism but I wouldn’t say that Nadeko has a tea vibe or a chocolate vibe, Nadeko is more in line with fruit like flavors I wouldn’t say red bean or taro quite suits her but I’d new willing to see arguments. (I think Nadeko would be the type to like red bean as a flavor but be irritated by the bean skins so the experience becomes net neutral) For things like nutty flavors I could see it working mildly but I feel like it sort of runs back around to fruity flavors though the sweet soy sauce flavor you can have on some dango could work it’s an acquired taste and doesn’t fit the type of old fashioned I think Nadeko goes by for (even if she might like it). Nadeko has historically had generally peach to strawberry flavoring in Nadeko drinks, which make sense as peach is pink to orange, and can range from sweet and floral to acidic. And the non humble strawberry plays a big symbolic role in the adaptation of nadeko Medusa. Though that’s a false strawberry but strawberries are fakes in a sense anyway bc the “seeds” are the fruit and the red part is a swollen fruit ovary. Plus false strawberries don’t taste like a lot and when someone sees the word strawberry they lock in and expect that flavor. Character color also often factors into it but I’m getting nadeko out of pink character hell you will become purple. Nadeko blueberry shake with lines of chocolate white chocolate strawberry and raspberry sauce in it would make sense tho for a drink representing the arc of nademono. Nadeko changes so much that you gotta keep inventing new drinks which is why developing a flavor system is very important to consider if you want flavor continuity between these things. I think arc by arc drinks summarizes monogatari characters better because it accounts for change. Granted, coming up with individual flavors is fine too.

The moral of the story is I should probably post my monogatari flavor in theory drink chart based on ops but with side content beliefs. And then refine it with the people of this site’s beliefs in what is ideal as a flavor profile for a character even if they dislike the flavor (I consider flavors I don’t like too and not everyone is gonna be a flavor you want.)

🍊—Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo)

Layla and Jake from MK auGHh! They both have sm n I have several fic ideas to go more in depth on Jake specifically, but in most of what I have now they’re often relegated to interaction or side appearances even tho they give me sO MANY THOUGHTS!! I think that’s part of the issue bc most ideas would b longer and more involved n I rly only am doing short stuff atm. I rly gotta do some stuff with them soon tho!

🍍—What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?

Honestly I’m not much of an AU man, I more like stuff that plays with small tweaks or missing pieces of canon over drastic changes, as for me at a certain point it doesn’t feel like the characters I want to explore anymore. There are exceptions ofc but yeah, generally. Overall I like role swap AUs? I think they can give a good look at how characters got to where they are and how they address issues differently, but again that’s sort of playing in canon sandbox as well. Idk if timeloop counts as an AU or a trope but I like that as well, as well as stuff that’s more… switch around pieces but general universe is the same.

Beef wise, I don’t like no power aus for super heroes if there’s nothing else interesting or it’s not exploring like “this isn’t how it should be” type stuff. Same for modern Star Wars stuff w no aliens or paralleling structures like those? Are just guys now? Those are not the same guys? Both make a lot of conflicts feel less there and changes a lot of fundamentals. Also not a big fan of fantasy AUs for non fantasy properties? But that’s my personal issues w not being as much of a fantasy guy unfortunately 😭 Idk. I’m just not rly an AU guy haha.

🥝—What’s your favorite trope/AO3 tag to write?

Ig nonsexual (but also sometimes sexual) intimacy and 5(or however many)+1’s.

For the first it’s something about exploring people physically, and seeing the ways they find connection and boundaries with touch and contact, it’s just rly fun for me. I loVe sense of self exploration and how sensory input is felt and wanted is a huge part of that. Also has a lot of good descriptors, with warmth and rough/softness, hair texture, eyes and noses and stomachs. Good stuff. Can be gentle or sad or sexy or sweet and I always find at least a bit in all of my stuff.

For the second it’s similar in an examination sense, but more abstract, about seeing the space the character(s) take up and the reactions they have under certain circumstances. It can explore a swath of themes and moments, give a net cast if the characters life and how they’ve moved through it, and it’s relatively bite sized depending on how you go at it, making it perfect for the writing momentum that keeps me going.

Honestly probably a lot but I am sO bad at rmring stuff so this is kinda more like? Topics? From the top of my head: Miguel and Gabriella stuff from ATSV, Moon Knight stuff to do with the duat and with Gus, Miguel holding Mayday briefly, uhhh honestly just all of moon knight actually but JDHBDB that’s to be expected. Also post canon W359 but that’s less canon n more the whole shebang.

Both showing how women can find solace in one another but also that men can have close relationships without being any less male/masculine? Idk, maybe it’s because I really like Nesta and I get Amren kept her secrets even when they were having the argument, but at the same time, I feel like Amren was unnecessarily cruel toward Nesta when she should have been able to see what was going on?

Considering you already made a long post about Lawtsuda I’ll go ahead and ask how you feel about Lawlight instead (love your art!)

Some days I really like it others I’m a little more eh about it. I’ll go into detail about both:

I personally enjoy Lawlight in the Drama, the most. They felt extra fruity and shippy to me personally. Now why I like that adaptation more than the anime/manga? They moved them closer in age, Light already being in college. Just a little weird to me with the pairing when Light is still in high school. The drama I like because the subtle little kiss on the cheek, the way Light dodged outta having to be handcuffed, the flirtatious looks they continuously give each other, the playful little banter they always are having. AGHHHHH. It’s just good stuff.

Now on for the general!

Like I mentioned in my Lawtsuda post, I like pairings where it’s a give and take. It is no different with Lawlight. They both cure each other’s boredom, they bring thrill to each other’s lives because finally they met someone on the same wave length as them! Light also I feel brings out the sillier side to L, which I find amusing ^^ As for the reverse, I think L just brings Light a sense of comfort and more openness that he hadn’t had as much before. (Cause he’s so incredibly gay)

In the story, I don’t think anyone (yes even my Lawtsuda shipper heart can attest) can match how in sync and strong their bond is. They fit together with each other perfectly. Also them both being great at tennis, both having similar level of intellect to always have engaging conversations, both engaging in their mind games. They just genuinely seem to enjoy being in the other’s company too if you ignore all the Kira stuff. The L Change the World movie’s book with L absolutely moping about Light not being around and WEARING his watch for a sense of comfort! As L was close to dying, he went to LIGHT’S HOUSE ahhhh. Him hoping they will meet again in death to walk in the nothingness together like ughhh. He’s so poetic with him. Then there’s Light who is just absolutely losing his mind after ridding of L. The immediate regret, the extra hate to Near. The bittersweetness of it all! L was his equal but he had to get rid of him for self-preservation. Yet he cannot SHUT UP about L. Always on his mind. That things would have been better if they were still togetherrr. Then the creators saying if Light wasn’t Kira that they’d probably still work together. Aghhh they just have to be apart of each other’s lives!!!

Light always showing his concern for L is always 🥺 Even if it ends up leading to fights cause their both stubborn af, it’s cause they love each other okay? :,,,)

Even though L is a notorious liar, it still seems sweet when he seems a little sad at Light being Kira because he’s his first friend. Ahhhhh. Light, I feel, has brought L out of his shell a lot on the case and gehshsjsjskks

Also the fanart? GORGEOUS? The memes of them? HILARIOUS. But fanfics? Eh I’m not actually that into it. There’s enough ig in canon that tickled my fancy enough with the pairing that I don’t really feel like the fanfic would bring about anything that doesn’t feel kinda repeated? So I don’t really read them 🙈

Now why it gets EH. It’s just talked about so much I guess it kinda just bores me sometimes. Like we get it. It’s great. What’s new? 🙈 It feels silly but sometimes when I just see Lawlight over talked about it just kinda looses my interest. When I rewatch/reread stuff tho I still like it and definitely feel they had something going there. Also I personally don’t like Light as much. So I’m just not as big a fan of shipping him with L in just that regards. When I wanna do fanart/fics of my fave ships, I like it more when I like both characters equally. So I’m not gonna get into all the OC’s I made for this au because we’d genuinely be here all day. But the main bitches for this au and a bit about them (please keep in mind that I have only finished the first two danganronpa games and I’ve only just gotten to the death in chapter 4 for v3. And I haven’t consumed any other danganronpa content. All that to say, some shit might change or be inaccurate to canon lore. If that’s the case…shh this is already a canon divergence, let me have my fun /lh

Anyway, main characters:

Emiko Naegi, she/her, ultimate entrepreneur. She’s the daughter of Byakuya and Makoto. Emiko is a very confident individual who inherited Byakuya’s business sense. Shes genuinely a very nice person though and likes just having fun, though she can be very blunt and a little spoiled which means she occasionally comes off as rude to people who don’t know her well

Junichi Gokuhara, he/him, ultimate card player. He’s the son of Celeste and Gonta (rare pairs my beloved). Junichi is Emiko’s boyfriend and a very polite man, having learned from his parents to be a proper gentleman (the dynamic with Emiko is very much “I can do it myself” X “I know but let me”). He was a sickly kid so couldn’t be in school a lot and as such, Celeste taught him how to play various card games which Junichi quickly had a knack for, even if he can never beat his mum lol. He’s someone who just wants to enjoy the game though and doesn’t take money during games as he feels money would ruin it. He isn’t perfect though, as he is extremely competitive. It’s a running joke for Emiko that Junichi is a complete sweetheart but when it comes to playing games, he becomes low key evil lmao (he’s also the only straight character I have in this au lmao. Idk man everyone else was too fruity. Junichi’s a 10/10 ally tho. He loves his trans/bi girlfriend)

Seiko Saihara (I didn’t know there was a canon danganronpa character named Seiko when I named him and now I’m too attached to the name lol), he/him, ultimate lie detector/deception expert. Son of Shuichi and Kokichi. Seiko is a childhood friend of Emiko’s, having met her in middle school and they’ve been like brother and sister since. Seiko is honesty just a mischievous lil shit with a love for gossip. He’s got a good heart though and is insanely loyal. Most right him off as an idiot but it’s far from true, Seiko actually being very intelligent and having learned to read body language in order to tell when people are lying, a skill that comes in handy when you have Kokichi as a parent. He acknowledges that his skills aren’t fool proof (Emiko’s autistic ass quickly teaching him that certain body language isn’t always an indication of deception) but the more he practices the better he gets. Seiko also has a pretty dirty sense of humour (without being a perv) and is a bisexual mess

Kimika Yumeno, she/her, ultimate con artist. Daughter of Tenko and Himiko. Kimika takes on the role of the antagonist in my generational despair au. She seems nice at first but ultimately she’s a very cunning person. She honestly just likes being able to control situations and the people around her and an inability to do so can cause a spiral. She naturally has good in her like the rest of the danganronpa antagonists but her cons are a way for her to have fun, even at the expense of others

The characters in the original post:

Kiyono Hinata is a reserve course student and as I stated previously, the child of Hajime and Nagito. They’re also the childhood friend of Emiko and Seiko, the 3 all having met in middle school and now just behaving like siblings. Kiyono unfortunately inherited their dads depression though and for the most part Kiyono can just seem bored or dead inside. They also got sick of Nagito always talking to them about “hope” and now it’s gotten to the point they just hate that word and the idea of it, thinking it’s stupid and naive because bad things are going to happen regardless of if you’re hopeful or not etc. They’re a true introvert, not really speaking to anyone outside of their friend group (Emiko, Seiko, and Junichi) and when they’re not at school or with friends, they’re probably in their room watching horror movies on their laptop. They’re insanely loyal, however, and would do anything for their friends and family

Daiya Ishimaru (yes he was named after Mondo’s brother), fellow reserve course student and son of Ishimondo, is a non identical twin. His twin sister is named Katana and she’s the ultimate bodyguard and a top student. On the flip side, Daiya struggles in school and doesn’t have an ultimate. Being the only non ultimate in his family means Daiya is pretty fucking insecure and he and his sister have a lot of “friendly competitions” that mean a bit more to Daiya than they do Katana. Unlike Kiyono who’s more obviously depressed, Daiya hides it more and generally seems like a happy guy. He’s a big gamer nerd and also loves manga and such. He’s a little socially awkward though despite being an extrovert (tis the autism)

Kiyono X Daiya is very much a black cat X golden retriever couple but make them both depressed. They’re able to understand each other in that way and help each other out. Additionally, Daiya is an insomniac while Kiyono sleeps way too much. They just got that balance lol. And to top it off, in the generational despair au, Kiyono and Daiya aren’t in the actual killing game because they’re reserve course meaning the two of them are on the outside going though the same shit and working together to end the killing game and save their friends and family. And I mean, what’s more romantic than surviving the end of the world together?

I am hopefully gonna be writing my generational despair au. I’m still in the very rough draft stages tho and just chipping away at it as a mini project. It’s a lot of fun tho and I may share more stuff on it at some point🤷

I have a next gen au for danganronpa. Essentially if the killing game never happened and the danganronpa cast went on to get married and have kids and shit. Also have a separate au as part of that that I’m currently working on which is my “generational despair” au aka if these next gen OC’s were put in the killing game instead

Anyway, introducing Daiya Ishimaru (he/him), son of Taka and Mondo. And Kiyono Hinata (they/them), child of Nagito and Hajime. These two are both in the reserve course and are my favourite ship in this au out of my OC’s

marius von hagen and clinginess hc

1k rant about von hagen and hugs from a person who doesn’t have a lot of marius cards 

imo and tl;dr: mans loves hugs and physical affection in general 

now! to the nitty gritty! 

ok look i’m p sure marius von hagen grew up in a very loving household that actively showed affection, whatever it may be. with the death of his mom (who he doesn’t really remember but semantics) i think that maybe his dad tried to make up for it. idk he looks like a very nice man from what i’ve seen on the twitter. like a fruity man that doesn’t adhere to toxic masculinity and openly shows affection to their children. 

therefore, i really want marius to just,,, wanna hug everyone. or have them in some type of hold. 

like yes he knows that people will stab him in the back and he prepares for it and whatnot, but he does seem to give people the benefit of the doubt. like he’s still a little childish, let him be a clingy fucker he deserves it. 

sure he knows not to hug people and shit but people he’s close with? no one is safe. he makes sure to do it behind close doors tho bc he knows that the tabloids will be asking questions if they see him just hugging vincent. or hanging off of his shoulder. gentle giant boi. 

i’d like to think that, after the NXX gets established into the kickass investigation team its meant to be, no one is safe from hugs. and everyone just accepts it bc they are, on some level, touch starved themselves.

like rosa has been without their best friend for 8 years and without their parents for some time. they have kiki yeah but they overwork and spend a lot of time in the office.

vyn is a naturally prickly fucker who keeps people at arm’s length. thats just how he is. but in false tears he hugs rosa so,,, hugs are not off his radar he just doesnt get them often

artem is an emotionally constipated fuck who has to resort to a book for affection advice and says ‘too close get back’ when you poke his animation lmaoo

luke was in the nsb for 8 years and while yeah, he had physical contact with people, 9 times out of 10 that touch probably had negative connotations (fights and shit, ya know?)

also marius is baby of group. baby of group privileges™️ allow him to do lots of stuff. 

it starts off innocently enough. Rosa is his first victim. he just kinda,, rests his head on their head. wraps an arm around them. holds their hand. 

then he ropes luke into it. its probably after a recon mission or some shit but lets just say marius sprained his ankle and big bad agent raven gives him a piggyback ride bc ‘nO YOU’RE NOT WALKING ON A SPRAINED ANKLE JUST GET ON’ and then 

marius: luke? 

luke: mmhm? 

marius: can i hug you more often? this is nice

luke, now a tomato: um,,, okay??

and so luke is not safe from the von hagen hold. probably leaps at luke bc luke is a big stronk boi 

marius, to rosa: if i run and jump at luke he will most certainly catch me in his arms. Coming in! *sprints towards luke*

luke: nO I’M HOLDING MY ENERGY DRINK! *drops can, looks at marius* 

marius, happily hugging luke: hello agent!

the third on his list is artem bc there’s no like,, real way to just hug the emotionally repressed lawyer without giving him a heart attack. he probably starts off small, back pats and shoulder grabs. shoulder grabs evolve into slinging an arm around his shoulder. that evolves into leaning his chin on his shoulder just slightly and asking what he’s working on. 

the big catalyst is an argument they’re having about giann. marius is obviously is really upset that artem insinuated that his brother just either dropped the family or also betrayed the NXX, idk, but it scaled up until they’re yelling and artem has to remind him that, “You’re not the only one who’s lost someone to this organization!” 

and marius just kinda stops because artem lost his mentor, who in passing has said that was basically a father to him. and marius cant imagine losing his dad. he takes one look at artem, really looking at him, and sees his situation with giann. the longing to have someone to talk to and to just be yourself and marius just feels himself choke on all the repressed emotions artem must have and just,,, hugs the poor guy. artem ofc is stunned but he returns the hug a bit. 

and the floodgates open for hugs. marius just hugs him randomly. he’s giving a debrief? Hug Time™️. Artem is reading some files? Hug Time.™️ artem made him a homemade dish bc he accidentally skipped lunch to come to the NXX office? Hug Time™️

vyn is the one that takes him the longest bc not only is vyn a member of the super secret band, but he’s also his tutor. and also vyn aggravates him. for the longest time he just really doesn’t know if he’s ever gonna hug vyn. but then he has a really shitty day. he oversleeps. he can’t find his jacket. he missed an assignment. he doesn't get lunch. a business plan falls through and the board of directors are on his ass. the lead for giann turns out to be a dead end. and he still has to go study with vyn. he’s really about to cancel but he has a test the day after and he can’t afford to so he just trudges into his house and tries to just push forward and he’s getting all the answers wrong and. he’s tired. 

back to the point of toxic masculinity, it did not exist in the von hagen house. so marius just starts sobbing on his psych textbook. he doesn’t care if vyn sees him and he’s under contract but he just really needs to cry this day out. 

vyn knew that he was gonna break down, for fucks sake hes a psychologist, he just never expected marius to be healthy about it. and vyn knows how much marius values physical touch so he just pulls marius to his shoulder and lets him cry it out. 

vyn becomes the ‘if i’ve had too much to deal with i go to you’ hugger. they usually just hug in the privacy of their tutoring sessions bc that way they can go back to hating each other in front of rosa lmaooo

and that is how marius gained hug privileges from everyone. the end

hello I love ice cream and have opinions about it

so my favourite is strawberry, because when i was younger and feeling sick (not like a cold, like stomach sick) i would eat strawberry ice cream and i would feel better (now that i think about it was probably anxiety lol) so now it's a comfort thing added to the beautiful flavour that is strawberry. also i think it's just really hard to mess up so you'll always have a good time getting strawberry (also it's pink, bonus point)

generally i think i prefer fruity ice cream, when i was younger my favourite flavour was lemon and raspberry, but as i get older i do appreciate a good chocolate

as for ice cream sundaes i do love stuff with chocolate syrup, but then the ice cream can't be chocolate as well, otherwise it'll be too much, so i'd go for stracciatella (like cream flavour with lil chocolate bits, i don't think it's that popular outside of germany, also beloved) or just simple vanilla, also nice.

also Spaghetti Eis, which is vanilla ice cream through like a spaghetti press over whipped cream, topped with strawberry syrup and white chocolate shavings so that it looks like a plate of spaghetti, it's the best invention out there i swear

but then it is also my ongoing mission to try every watermelon ice cream out there to see if it can hold up to that one watermelon gelato i once ate in italy in a gelato shop that has since closed down sadly. so far, nothing got close unfortunately

white chocolate sounds incredible too tho! sadly most shops don't sell it here, i really gotta try it again!

Danny's acidic

Hey, this is gonna be a mess because I graduated in the college of Google in this subject (meaning: I don't have academic qualification I just googled some stuff)

I was thinking about how some people in the dp fandom where trying to decide if Danny could drink because of the ectoplasm in his body (I believe the concensus was that he can either drink like there's no tomorrow with little to none side effects or not at all), so I was thinking of the ectoplasm in his body and if it'd affect him. And then Brainy said "hey, what if his blood was acidic".

Just to clear the facts: pH is sort of like a scale -- a lower pH means more acidic and a higher pH means mor alkaline (generally, under 7 is acidic and above is alkaline). Human blood is supposed to be neutral and only slightly basic (alkaline), at a 7.4.

Sometimes, tho, human blood doesn't follow that, and we get the conditions of acidosis (below 7.35) and alkalosis (7.45 or higher). I'm focusing on acidosis.

As you all may know from science class or even tv, a lot of bodily processes can result in the producing of acid. The most known bodily acid is probably the gastric acid (yk, that mfer that burns tf out of your throat when you puke), but there are others, like the lactic acid, for an example (it's the one that causes us fatigue when we exercise).

That being, there are two types of acidosis: Metabolic acidosis and respiratory acidosis. And, guys, depending on the headcannon, Danny could have both.

Respiratory acidosis happens when your body can't remove the CO2 from it (which is usually liberated when we breathe), and it can be cause by asthma, injury to the chest, drug abuse/misuse, muscle weakness in the chest, the list goes on. This would mostly apply to the "Danno don't breathe" headcannon.

Metabolic acidosis happens when your kidneys can't get rid of enough acid or if they get rid of too much base.

There are four types of Metabolic acidosis, but I'm not getting into diabetic acidosis because it doesn't apply. There's:

- Hyperchloremic acidosis: when you lose too much sodium bicarnonate (which is a base). It can happen because of vomitting or diarrhea and it can be solved easily by just putting more sodium bicarbonate back in your body

- Lactic acidosis: occurs when there’s too much lactic acid in your body. It can be caused by chronic alcohol use, heart failure, cancer, seizures, liver failure, prolonged lack of oxygen, and low blood sugar. Even prolonged exercise can lead to lactic acid buildup.

- Renal tubular acidosis: occurs when the kidneys are unable to excrete acids into the urine. This causes the blood to become acidic.

The symptoms of these include:

Respiratory:

fatigue or drowsiness

becoming tired easily

confusion

shortness of breath

sleepiness

headache

Metabolic:

rapid and shallow breathing

confusion

fatigue

headache

sleepiness

lack of appetite

jaundice (yellow skin)

increased heart rate

breath that smells fruity, which is a sign of diabetic acidosis (ketoacidosis)

So, like, say the ectoplasm in Danny's blood causes metabolic acidosis because of the imbalances and stuff. Most types of m acidosis can be treated with supplements of some kind: sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, bicarbonate suplements, fluids. So I imagine danny having to always walk around with a freaking farmacy worth of supplements, water, juice, as well as having to take care of his diet (no more nasty burger :((()

(Also, some side effects of acidosis can be kidney stones, chronic kidney problems, kidney failure, bone disease, delayed growth so use the last two to your liking :))))))))))))))))))
