Yap sesh about Porters audio

When it comes to redacted and his more confrontational audios, people tend to pick a side, and it's usually the listeners. My theory (for lack of a better term) is that people are put in the listeners spot, that's why it's audio rp. The character is made to be having a conversation with you, the listener. I think the reason people are always so quick to defend the listener is because they themselves feel threatened, and are quick to defend themselves in turn.

Let's take porters audio for example, which a lot will agree that it's porters fault for lashing out, for yelling and insulting Treasure when they "were only trying to help!" But that's not how I see it. Treasure was pushing his boundaries, even in the beginning. Porter told Treasure that he wasn’t up for a visit that night, but they insisted. Their persistence- well- persisted throughout the night. They insisted he’d stay, they insisted he’d talk, they themselves insulted him when he wouldn’t share the feelings he wasn’t ready to share, calling him a coward.

Porter wasn’t right to lash out and insult them, but I believe that treasure has to take a lot of the blame in this if not most of it.

Second-guessing

#been overthinking all day today and needed to draw how it feels lately #a bit of a vent ahead #it’s gotten really lonely and almost alienating in a way #and the fandom seems so vastly different #and in a way I dont really feel ok in #i do take the steps to avoid anything that i don’t want to see #but it just feels like what i do is pointless #like what i draw is pointless #i know the more platonic/familial themes in my art will always be overshadowed #but its been a harsh truth ive been hit with #and it’s kind of heartbreaking #i’m forever grateful for the reminders of how my art is like a breath of fresh air #but man is it difficult to not just quit entirely #because it always falls back to: why am I doing this? what’s the point?#i’m sorry I feel like such a whiny loser when I talk about things like this #it’s all jumbled and all over the place but to put it simply it’s been super lonely #i just needed to say something before it completely boiled over #im sorry again

does anyone have tips for people trying to stop being chronically late to everything in the world that aren’t weirdly judgmental and aggressive or flat out lies

#when i tell you every single resource i’ve ever found or tried to get through or anyone i’ve ever asked #has been just so. mean about it #not even intentionally #not always at least #but there’s so much inherent shame tied to being late to things or being a person who used to be late to things #that i don’t think people can untie that from their ‘helpful tips’#it’s all ‘i used to also be a lazy uncaring piece of shit! you don’t have to be a horrible wretched loser anymore!’ and it’s like. okay.#you see how that’s not helping. right.#making me feel worse about it is NEVER helpful. i promise you i already have tortured myself over it FARRR more than any ‘on time’ person #ever had #this has been a comic i’ve been stewing on for ages as well but. well there’s of course the shame #idk it’s something that people are always despicably mean about bc fundamentally people who have never struggled with it #see it as a personal choice to be late #and as something one needs to just ‘try harder’ to fix. and that if you don’t #you inherently don’t care about other people’s time or even other people in general #and that feels horrible! it feels really bad!!#i mean i’ve got it from EVERYONE. disability allies. other adhd folks. disability resource offices #it’s something that nobody ever cares to acknowledge or try to accommodate for #bc time blindness and exec dysfunction are NEVER taken seriously as disabilities. they’re always always viewed as a personal failing #and i’m sick and tired of it. bc all this does is make people struggling with this Hate themselves #and worry endlessly that maybe they Are selfish and actually Don’t care about anyone else #there’s a bit too much here to keep in the tags i should really do the comic for adhd awareness month
