Wanna bet?
What happens when you bet your virginity with Taiga and lose….
Tokyo Debunkers smut
CW: taiga, mild dub-con, very brief mentions of torture, biting, fem-bodied reader, gambling, virginity loss, selling your body, blood, mild vore, creampies, debt payment through sex, rough sex, cunnilingus in the torture chair, Voyeurism
“Ha! I win again!! Sorry Taiga, looks like I’m up this time!” you laugh at another win for you while taiga grumbles on about a losing streak.
“Hm playing with you isn’t very interesting, you always take the safe bet.” Taiga groans in response.
“Well duh, I’ve seen what kind of treatment the debtors of Sinostra get, and I’m not all that interested in being hunted for sport….” A chill runs down your spine at the thought of you friend Kaito and how he’s constantly being chased and hunted by Romeo. “….your vice captain doesn’t mess around.”
“Gyahahaha! I guess he doesn’t!” Taiga laughs off his vice captains less than legal methods of debt collection. He smiles sinisterly. “hey I know, let’s make this next bet an interesting one.”
“Interesting how?”
“If you win, I’ll clear your little friends debt.” He smirks, knowing that this is gonna be hard to refuse.
“And if I lose?”
“You let me fuck you.” His smile never drops.
Your face goes bright red as you realize how deep shit you’re about to be in. On one hand, you have the chance to clear the massive debt your friend is always whining about, on the other, you stand to lose your viginity, and to Taiga of all people…. Not that he’s unattractive or anything, but he’s not necessarily known for his delicate nature.
“Whatdya say? Sound like a fair bet to you?”
“No way!!” You huff at even the mention, but it actually doesn’t sound too bad. Besides, you’ve been on a winning streak….. Taiga’s been losing at every play….
“Suit yourself, but I spy Romeo on his way to hunt for debtors.” Taiga grins and nods toward the casino entrance, where Romeo has his sniper rifle loaded and ready to go hunt some debtors and shake them down.
“….fine. You’re on.”
“Great! Let’s play roulette for it then.” He tosses his arm around your shoulder and leads you to the roulette wheels.
“Why the sudden change?”
“We’re leaving this one up to chance! That way if you lose you can’t say I fixed the match gyahaha!”
You look at the wheel in front of you. Taiga watches intently.
“Red or black? It’s your choice.” He nods toward the wheel.
“…..I choose black.”
“Hm, don’t think so. Red for me then.”
The reality of the situation is starting to hit you. The ball rolls around as you watch Taiga. He’s completely enthralled by the game. He really is nice to look at, but he’s kinda scary, and he’s always so harsh….. If you lose, you’re really going to be at his mercy…..
And just as you have that thought, the ball lands on red. You lose. He turns to you and smiles.
“Better luck next time~” his voice dripping with faux sympathy.
He wastes no time in tossing you up over his shoulder and walking away from the casino and towards his room. He tosses you down on the bed and climbs on top of you.
“H-hey hey wait!!” You put your hands between the two of you, trying to keep a bit of distance. Your face is starting to turn a bit red.
“Hm, not going back on your bet now, are you?” His smile drops.
“L-let’s at least make one rule okay? A safe word? Right…?”
Taiga considers for a moment. “Sure, what’s your word?”
“….cashmere. And if I say that you have to stop no matter what…. Okay?” You say a bit sheepishly now.
“Mhm, but this is gonna be fun, I promise….” He pushes you onto your back, straddling your hips, keeping you pinned beneath his weight.
He leans over. You look up at him, unsure what to expect from here, so you just nod, visibly nervous.
In a surprisingly gentle motion, he brushes some hair away from your face. Then in contrast, he presses his lips against yours in a hungry sort of kiss.
As the kiss gets more intense, his hands snake down your waist to a firm grip on your hips. Your own hands starting to feel more comfortable wrap around his neck to pull him closer. Having his body pressed against yours during the heated kiss doesn’t feel as bad as you’d thought…. Actually it feels good, really good.
His body is toned and extremely warm against your own. His hands rubbing small circles on your hips, gently raising them just enough for you to feel him getting hard down there.
He nips at your lip and upon your gasp, his tongue enters your mouth. You taste a bit of blood, but that’s the last thing on your mind now as he begins to dominate your mouth. One of his hands moves away from your hips and traces up your waist and under your shirt.
You inadvertently gasp slightly and arch your back as his hand feels around your breasts, roughly squeezing the soft flesh.
His mouth breaks away from the kiss and moves down to your neck. It starts out gentle, as light kisses, but it quickly progresses into soft nibbles, then a full on bite.
“Ow!” Your hands move to push him off, but he catches both your hands in one of his own, not even needing to look up. He pins your hands above your head.
“Be good.” He growls into your neck, fully taking in the scent of you. You feel a drop of blood drip from the bite. He licks it up and kisses the wound.
He begins to roll his clothed dick against your hips, grinding into you at a painfully slow pace. You buck your hips, desperate for just a little more friction, but with his free hand he keeps you pinned down. He continues to nibble and bite at your neck and shoulders. Making sure to lick up any blood that begins to flow.
The hand he has on your hips now is tugging at the waistband of your uniform skirt, slowly pulling it down. Your face heats up a bit. He releases your hands to remove your shirt, as well as his own. He’s lean, but undeniably muscular. There are a few scars littering his skin, likely from his own reckless behavior in the field…..
Your eyes wander his chest and torso, not even noticing your own exposure until he sits up, still on top of you, and lets out a low whistle.
“You sure keep your aces close, dontcha?” He grins, eyeing your chest. He removes your bra with skill and precision. “That’s a view I could get used to…”
You start to feel the embarrassment of being almost fully nude in front of him. You try to cover yourself with your hands a bit. He clicks his tongue and stands up.
“None of that.” He pulls you off the bed with him and shoves you down in his torture chair. He straps you down before you can even get a word in.
With your arms strapped into the chair he sits on the floor and pulls your hips toward his face, spreading your legs.
“Taiga what are-“
“Shut up. Not another word. Let me enjoy this.” His tone is dangerous, much more serious than you’re used to. He threads your underwear around his finger and pulls it to the side, taking in the sight of your pussy all exposed for him.
“You’re wet.” He grins.
“Well yeah but-“
“I said shut up.” He glares at you from the floor. Once again, dead serious. He plants his hand on the sensitive spot where your leg meets your hip and uses his thumb to brush your entrance open, collecting some of your slick onto his finger. He grins and tastes it.
“Fuck, princess, that tastes good….” Wasting no more time, he shoves his face into your pussy. He licks and sucks on your sensitive clit.
You gasp and squirm around at the unfamiliar sensation of pleasure down there. Your hands move against the restraints of the chair and you whine a bit.
Taiga continues to suck your clit, now playing with the entrance to your cunt with one of his fingers, but not going all that deep.
You feel a twisting sort of knot begin to form in your stomach as you start bucking your hips shamelessly into his face.
“That’s right, cum on my face pretty girl…..” he growls into your heat. The vibration of his words pushes you over the edge. You cry out as pleasure rips through your body. He speeds up, then pulls away.
The lower half of his face is dripping with your juices. He chuckles. “I didn’t take you for someone so eager.”
As you pant and start to come down from your high, he undoes the restraints. He pets your hair lovingly, leaning down so his breath hits your neck. “Now we can start for real.”
He tosses you back onto his bed, with no regard for how easy it is for him to completely manhandle you. He pushes himself between your legs and starts to position himself at your entrance.
“Such a good girl….” He leans down and kisses you. It’s a bit more gentle this time. He pushes his tip in, groaning a bit at how tight you are. “….fuck, I thought I prepped enough. Relax.”
You feel his girth starting to stretch out the entrance of your pussy. He rolls his hips a bit, trying to get a little bit further in. You can’t choke down the moan of pleasure that escapes your mouth. “Fuck taiga~”
And at that sound, he can’t help himself, he snaps his hips all the way against yours, plunging himself balls deep in a matter of seconds. You cry out in pain, but he wastes no time to let you adjust.
His mouth takes over yours and he draws his hips back just to snap them into yours again. He greedily sucks on your lower lip as he fucks himself up into you at a brutal pace. His movements as fast and rough, but he makes sure to hit that sweet spot inside you each time.
You can’t even keep track of the noises leaving your mouth. He lifts one of your legs up into your chest to hit even deeper inside you.
His mouth moves down to your neck, once again nipping and sucking as he rails into you. His pace still not even beginning to ease. You feel that same knot start to form in your gut.
You try your best to verbalize what’s about to happen but instead, Taiga snaps into you even rougher.
“That’s it doll, cum all over my dick. Fuck yoh feel so fucking good….”
You cry out again and do just that. Creaming all over his relentless cock. He doesn’t even bother to slow down as he rides you through your high.
“Shit, squeezing me so fucking tight…. Don’t know how much longer I can last like this….”
Without any more warning than that, he flips you over onto your stomach and drags you to the edge on the bed so your legs dangle over the edge. He stands up and begins to hit even deeper inside you, his cock now bullying at your cervix.
He has your hips lifted up off the bed and face pressed into the mattress. You’re practically drooling all over his sheets the way your jaw is hung slack from the intense pleasure. Incomprehensible sounds leaving your mouth.
“That’s right sweetheart, fuck, lemme hear it…”
His balls hitting your clit at each rut into you is sending you close to the edge again, he leans over you, pressing his hot sweaty chest against your bare back, wrapping his hand lightly around your throat. He bites into the nape of your neck hard.
His pace is starting to get even harsher, pulling you even closer to another orgasm as well as letting you know that he’s getting close too.
With a few more rough thrusts he clenches his jaw around the flesh of the back of your neck. And buries his cock as deep as he can inside you, ripping another orgasm from you. Then another thrust, and you feel him twitch inside you. He holds you in place, with the tip of his dick roughly pressed against your cervix as far as it can go. You feel his hot cum full your insides, starting as deep as it can. He lets out a few shaky breaths and releases his jaw.
“Fuck. s’good…..”
His hands give one more squeeze to your hips. He rolls his hips against yours just a few more times to milk all of his seed out into your throbbing cunt. Then he pulls out, leaving you feeling emptier than you thought possible. He lets out another shaky sigh and leans down. He watches his cum start to drip out of you. He slides his finger up your slit, gathering the cum and shoves it back into you.
Upon closer inspection, he notices small streaks of red along with the cum. He tilts his head.
“Were you a virgin….?”
His question catches you a bit off guard and drags you back to reality. “Huh? H-how’d you-?”
“Shit. Id have bet way more if i knew…. Sex is one thing but your virginity? Id’ve at least bet something important. More important than that whining brats debt.”
He stands up fully, stretches a bit and drops over you. Pinning you against him in a death grip. He nuzzles his face into your neck, taking in the smell of you. “Felt so fuckin good though…. I wanna keep you all to myself from now on…..”
you try to squirm a bit in embarrassment, but your body is too exhausted from being completely fucked out. “….yeah whatever.” You grumble a bit, still a bit embarrassed. “Can’t you at least clean up?”
Taiga groans but releases you. He gets up and cleans up for you. He lays on top of you again, this time keeping just enough distance to look at your face. It’s hard to read his expression, so you just stare back.
“You’re mine now, okay?”
You blink a few times. “….okay.”
“Good, also you’re staying here tonight, I’m not done with you yet.” He gives you another kiss.
BONUS:
Romeo, now done with his debt collecting for the day and looking for the captain, ready to give that BTH another good scolding about how he should be treating the casino patrons. He storms into Taiga’s room, only to be greeted by the sight of that BTH fucking right into the BB(basic bitch) who’s face is pressed into the mattress so much she didn’t even notice his entry. Taiga makes eye contact though, not even bothering to stop what he’s doing. He grins and opens his mouth like he’s about to say something. Romeo doesn’t give him the chance. His face twists in disgust and he immediately backs out of the room, shutting the door behind himself.
“Was he in there Fico?” One of his goons questions.
“Nope. He must be busy…..” Romeo clears his throat and walks away. He’s gonna try to forget he saw that.

help me hold on to you.
⭢ alan x mc, 2.2k
It is a dance of wants and haves, of budgets and portion sizes, of learning to think for two. It feels like you could do this forever. How easy it is, to be with Alan. How easy he is to love.  or: supermarket date! supermarket date! soft and fluffy domestic alan!!! i love him!!!!! ( º ᴖ º ) // also on ao3
You frown. How is it that whoever runs the campus store can bring in three different types of almond milk, but only one brand of oat milk?
You weigh both cartons in your hands. Maybe you should just get the almond milk. It isn’t even the good type of oat milk too–
“Y/N?”
You glance up, only to be met with sea green eyes and arms full of flour and sugar bags. “Kaito!”
Kaito beams back, golden hair washed a pale yellow under the harsh cold of the store lights. He looks slightly different dressed down, almost like he could be a college student elsewhere in a ratty old hoodie and sweatpants. “I’ve tried that brand of almond milk, it freakin’ sucks. Get the blue carton.”
You can’t help but laugh. With the strange stocking style of the campus store, you can only ever trust comments of the other students and hope not to step on any culinary landmines. You reach to put both cartons you were holding back when Kaito clears his throat.
“Why are you wearing a Vagastrom hoodie?”
Ah.
You flush, biting your lip. It was colder than you expected this morning when Alan left the bed for his morning run, uncurling himself from around you gently in an effort not to wake you up. But you awoke anyway, body leaning towards his residual warmth like it has every day you’ve woken up in his bed, eyes blurring open to Alan’s fond smile.
I’ll be back soon, he promised, voice low. Go back to sleep. The sleep-rough of his voice left butterflies at the bottom of your stomach, a small dance of adoration and contentment that lasted long after he shut the door.
But the cold was sharp, and as Alan’s warmth faded from the blankets you found yourself sitting up and leaning off the edge of his bed until your fingers snagged the yellow hoodie draped across the back of his chair. It smelled vaguely of engine grease, as does everything in Vagastrom, but as you pulled it over your head you were surrounded by sandalwood and summer, by sunlight and sea salt, by Alan.
The brush of comfort was enough to turn your eyelids heavy and your dreams sweet, until you were awakened again by Alan’s touch on the crown of your head.
“Y/N?” Kaito peers at you, and you jolt a little.
“Um,” you say, intelligently. “Ah.”
It’s not as if you were hiding the fact that you were dating Alan per se, but it… had never really come up in conversation? After all, it is a fairly recent development, and Alan isn’t the type to broadcast news about himself to others. The interactions you’ve had with most of the other ghouls involve mostly you running small errands for them anyway, and less so idle chit-chat. Other than the Vagastrom ghouls (Leo had scoffed the first time he walked in on Alan’s thumb brushing your cheekbone and walked back out, while Sho just smirked and hollered something in Leo’s direction about a bet), you don’t think any of the other students know anything about your relationship with the Vagastrom captain.
But this is Kaito, one of the first people to befriend you in Darkwick, and now that you’re faced with the opportunity and his guileless eyes, you feel kind of ashamed you’ve never told him about it…
“Did you find it?” A gentle weight rests on the top of your head. A warmth blooms at the base of your throat, sweet and golden, and you briefly forget about Kaito as you lean backwards to smile up at Alan.
“They don’t have the brand I usually get. Should we get almond instead?”
Alan nods at you to place the carton in his basket. “Sure.”
“Sho said he wanted us to pick up some bell peppers too–“
“Sorry, what the fuck?!” Kaito’s yelp is startling, and you reflexively jerk backwards into the solid harbour of Alan’s arm. “Since WHEN?!”
You flush. A sheepish apology balances on the tip of your tongue, but Alan beats you to it. The gruff in his voice is evident as he says, “Your business, Frostheim?”
Kaito’s eyes grow round. A million little emotions (mostly some frantic type of fear, but tinged with betrayal, you note somewhat despondently) flash across his face before your apology tumbles out. “Sorry, Kaito, I meant to tell you and Luca, but I’ve been so busy-“
“It’s okay,” Kaito squeaks, and before you can say anything else he disappears up the aisle, bags of flour dropping in his wake.
Alan frowns. He pulls you slightly closer, fingers resting lightly on the waist of his hoodie, and there is something so unexpectedly tender in the action it makes your heart feel three times too big. Always soft, always warm. Always gentle, with you.
You half-expect him to say something about Kaito, but he just sighs.
“Bell peppers are up front,” he says, instead, and you laugh.
You end up picking more bell peppers than Sho asked for, if only so you can add the extras to the dinners you cook for the week. Alan picks out spring onions and a new box of white miso; you trade it for a box of red (he has an unopened box of white miso hidden behind his giant tub of protein powder; you unearthed it while searching for his black pepper last week) and toss in an extra yellow onion.
You spend the most time in the meat section, of course – Alan’s meals consist mainly of grilled meat on rice whenever you’re not around. You watch as he frowns his way through cuts of meat, bending over to trade pork shoulder for jowl, and you resist the urge to smooth out the crease between his brows as he looks between both price tags.
It is a dance of wants and haves, of budgets and portion sizes, of learning to think for two. It feels like you could do this forever.
How easy it is, to be with him. How easy he is to love.
He doesn’t believe it, you know. Where you see caution and care in wrinkles of his palms he sees nothing but bloodstains and bruises, like there is nothing in him that deserves to be held. But oh, the way you’re trying to show him–
It is a whole downpour by the time Alan walks you back from Vagastrom. You are both soaked to the bone, your bangs sticking to your forehead and his yellow vest a dark ochre.
You invite him in to dry off, of course. He can’t possibly make his way back to Vagastrom like this.
(You also don’t think he can find his way back in the pouring rain, but you don’t say that part out loud.)
“I’ve got towels upstairs,” you say, instead, and lead him up the stairs to your room. You pray hard that all your laundry is in its basket and you haven’t left anything stupid out.
You haven’t, much to your relief, and you invite Alan inside after a cursory glance. You shrug off the wet sop of your jacket and dump it on your desk, heading straight to your closet to where you remember sticking the towels after your last laundry run.
“You can leave your vest on the desk, I’ll hang it above the radiator to dry,” you tell him, and immediately regret it. Stupid. Stupid of you to think your heart can handle the visual of Alan removing any piece of clothing in your vicinity.
You are weighing how stupid it would sound to retract your statement, when Alan clears his throat. “Your, um. Your toy is on the floor.”
You twist around to see your white stuffed rabbit lying on the floor next to your bed. Huh. He must have fallen out when you clambered out of bed this morning, rushing to make your 9am class.
“Oh, you can just set him back on the bed,” you say, before turning to rummage through your closet for towels. You easily locate your spare one with a triumphant ha!, and turn back to hand it to Alan so he can dry off.
…only to see him kneeling next to your rabbit, fingers outstretched as if to pick him up, but hesitant all the same. You blink.
Alan senses your stare, and looks up at you, almost embarrassed. “My hands are dirty.”
You know what he’s talking about – you’ve spent countless hours staring at his fingers as they fill out your forms, watching his hands twist spanners around bolts, dreaming of what his hands would feel like on the bare of your skin. They’re mostly clean (or as clean as he can get with wiping them on spare rags and rinsing them in the sink), but there is always a line of engine grease lingering under his fingernails he can’t quite get out.
You understand what he’s talking about too – he looked up at you one afternoon, seated on the worn leather sofa in the Vagastrom garage as he tinkered with the hood of a car. You were balancing a calculator on one knee and a form on the other, trying to figure out why the budget request for Leo’s next mission was so high and trying to look like you weren’t staring too much at the muscles in Alan’s forearms.
Honour student, he sighed. He set down the wrench. Don’t get involved with me.
You looked up, slightly flustered and alarmed at having been caught, but a protest on the tip of your tongue all the same. He caught the look on your face and shook his head. You don’t want to get mixed up in my life.
You didn’t say anything back then, choosing instead to duck your head to hide the burn in your cheeks, but oh, how you wish you did.
You want him to know how you’ve noticed that his hands and eyes linger longer on you than most, that he takes extra care to clean up whenever you’re around. You want him to know you’ve seen the sidelong glances he’s thrown at you, too, across the garage, and that you’ve seen the red on the tips of his ears after he leans in a bit too close for a bit too long, the peeks he takes whenever he thinks you’re busy fixing something on his phone.
You want to show him how his fierce has always been used for protecting, how his heart has always been built to lead. How his hands have always been meant to build and fix and hold and never to hurt.
You want to tell him that you don’t know what pushed him to make the choices he did all those years ago, but you know that he is more than the product of those choices, more than what those circumstances have made him become. That he’s more than the strength behind his knuckles and the decisions that he’s made, how he’s someone an entire house will rally behind and defend to the death. That he deserves to give himself a chance to go for what he wants, for once.
You shake your head. You hope he understands, this time. “I don’t mind.”
When he still doesn’t move, you move to kneel next to him, towel wrung between your hands. The wet green of his hair hangs over his eyes, but you can see him watching you all the same, almost as if you are the hunter and he is the prey.
“I don’t mind,” you say, again. It comes out as a whisper this time, bullets careening into a moment glass-thin.
His eyes dart up to meet yours, narrowing and wary, but your hands move before he can speak. The brush of your thumb over the rough of his cheek is feather-light, and you will him to understand what you mean when you lean forward to murmur, “That way, I can fall asleep thinking of you.”
You feel Alan’s breath catch as you brush your lips against the edge of his mouth, and you can almost hear the cogs in his head turning, slowly, as you pull away. Please understand.
And when he turns to you, when he gives in to himself, finally, when he presses his lips against yours in a controlled kind of recklessness and the thirst of a man who hasn’t felt the cool of water for days and doesn’t quite believe that he can, it feels like he does.
“Do I have breadcrumbs?” Alan turns to you. You blink, pulled back by the anchor of his voice.
“Mm,” you manage, “I don’t think so, but I do. We can swing by the cathedral to pick it up before heading back to yours?”
Alan hums in agreement, and bends over to retrieve a tray of pork chops from the freezer display. You can’t help it – you lean over to press a small kiss to his cheek as he straightens, and laugh when he turns to you, confused and slightly startled, smile tugging on his lips and blush climbing up his ears.
“Thanks,” you say. For everything.
Alan looks at you, eyes moss-soft, haloed in the artificial bright of supermarket aisle, then places the tray into his basket. He shifts the basket to his other side so he can grab your hand in his free one. “Let’s go home.”
Yes, you think, tangling your fingers into his. Let’s.

CERTAINTIES — SHIDOU RYUSEI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: shidou ryusei x gn! reader content: pro soccer player! shidou, pr manager! reader, shidou and kaiser’s behavior is a warning and of itself, shidou calls reader “sweetheart” and “sweets,” one suggestive joke notes: i <3 unhinged men
Tumblr media
You’ve learned that there are very few certainties in this world. The trains are not always on time, your hair is not always how you want it to look, your coffee order is not always what you want it to be.
But if you can be certain of one thing, it’s that Shidou Ryusei is a walking PR nightmare.
Your colleagues all warned you about taking him on as a client. His reputation precedes him: he’s loud, generally pretty rude, and absolutely unpredictable; he had cycled through no less than five PR agents in just a month. One of his previous agents, who sits in the office besides yours, came back in tears one day, huffing and sniffling that she “can’t work with him anymore!” because “he’s an absolute maniac! A total psycho!”
But if the various first place trophies and medals that were displayed in your childhood home for spelling bees and baking contests and even a few sport competitions mean anything, it’s that you never back down from a challenge. And, not to be too self-congratulatory, but you’ve been in the job for three months now — the longest of any PR agent — and you’re fairly sure you’re not anywhere close to being fired or run off by Shidou.
You sit on the sidelines of the field, watching the practice match between PXG and Bastard München with heavy eyelids. You got very little sleep the past few days after having to mitigate a “Shidou Ryusei Disaster,” as your team has taken to calling whatever scandal Shidou stirred up. Your eyes slid shut for a few seconds before the shrill of the whistle indicating halftime break made you jump, pitching forward. You would have definitely eaten grass if the man sitting beside you, Harada Kaito, hadn’t grabbed your shoulder and pulled you back.
You and Kaito work at the same agency with Kaito representing the actual PR angel, Yukimiya Kenyu. You can’t say you’re close friends but you get along well and enjoy chatting with him when PXG played against Bastard. “You okay there?” he asks, brows furrowing in concern.
You sigh heavily, rubbing your eyes with the heels of your palms. “Yeah, I’m fine. Had to put out some fires in the last few days so it’s been kind of hectic.”
“Right,” he says with a nod. “You spun it well. Saying that Shidou’s outbursts are products of overwhelming passion for soccer that’s just a little misplaced sometimes is honestly genius. Might have to steal that from you one day.”
You snort, “Yeah, right, Yukimiya’s a saint. I’m sure you’ll never have to put out a statement like that.”
He chuckles, leaning back. “Probably.”
“You wanna go, Rat Tail?” Both you and Kaito whip your heads over to see Shidou toe to toe with Michael Kaiser of all people. Of all people, he has to choose Michael Kaiser to fuck with today. Kaito gives you a pitying look as you run a hand down your face, standing up and heading over to douse this blaze before it can turn into another Shidou Ryusei Disaster.
“I’ll squish you like the insect you are,” Kaiser bites back, mouth pulling into a vicious smile.
“How about I exterminate you like the rat you are?” And you already see the way Shidou shifts his weight, the way his eyes grow sharper and his gaze more wild, and you know you’re a millisecond away from pandemonium, broken bones, and a potential lawsuit.
“Shidou Ryusei, if you even think about it, I’m never making you yukhoe ever again!”
Kaiser and the small crowd of soccer players that had formed around him and Shidou look a little surprised to see you a few feet away, clearly unaware that you had been practically sprinting across the field to get to them. Shidou, on the other hand, looks like he expected it and there is something smug about his expression that makes your eyes narrow. “Ah!” he croons, only needing two strides of his long legs to reach you. “So you were paying attention to me!”
“What are you on about?” you huff, crossing your arms.
“Well, you were falling asleep on the job. And then you seemed a little preoccupied with your little boytoy over there.” His eyes slide over to Kaito, who’s checking something on his phone.
You roll your eyes. “We’re colleagues, Shidou, you’ve met Kaito before.”
“First name basis? Are you sure you’re just colleagues?” He throws a nasty grin at you but there’s a look in his eyes that doesn’t quite match the simper.
“Yes.”
“You don’t sneak into the conference room together for a little rendezvous?”
“No.”
Shidou tilts his head and rocks on his feet, balancing on his toes and leaning in close. His nose almost brushed yours and your face heats up to an unhealthy temperature. Then, he smirks and pokes your cheek. “You’re cute when you’re mad.”
You swat his hand away. “Shut up.”
“Aww, that’s not a very nice way to talk to your client.”
“It’s not very nice to go around physically assaulting people.”
“I beg to differ, sweetheart,” Shidou says with a wink. Your face burns more.
You massage your temples and instead turn to Michael Kaiser, suddenly acutely aware that the first strings of PXG and Bastard München are all witnessing your interaction. “I’m sorry about his behavior.”
Kaiser raises an eyebrow and you think he’s going to give you a hard time but he only walks over to you, brushing past Shidou, and offers you a charming smile. “I don’t blame you,” he says, placing a placating hand on your shoulder and glancing at Shidou derisively over his shoulder. He looks back at you. “Feral animals are hard to train. My suggestion is to get them a leash and muzzle.”
You frown at Kaiser and peer over his shoulder to look at Shidou, but his eyes are glued to the hand on your shoulder. “Don’t threaten me with a good time,” Shidou chuckles but there’s something flat and unsettling about his tone. It shifts into something colder. “And get your hand off them.”
“Oh?” Kaiser smirks. “I don’t see them asking me to.”
“They’re too nice to say it. I, on the other hand, have no qualms ripping it off.”
“‘Qualms,’ that’s a big word for a little insect.”
“That’s enough,” you say, finally stepping out of Kaiser’s grip. You check your watch; there’s still a little time in the halftime break. Your eyes zero in on Shidou and you give him a stern glare. “We’re going to have a talk. Come with me.”
You turn on your heel and you don’t need to look back to know that Shidou’s following. Kaiser calls after the two of you, “Aww, finally decide to obey like a good dog!”
And much to your chagrin and great embarrassment, Shidou fucking barks back.
You lead him into the hallway that lead from the locker room and you say, “You can’t just go around kicking your teammates, you’re going to get into real trouble one day!”
“Aww, you care that much about me?”
“It’s literally my job to care about your public image.”
“Don’t got breaking my heart like that.”
You roll your eyes and scowl. “I literally just cleaned up one of your messes, Shidou. I need you to take it down.”
Shidou studies you for a few moments, eyes roaming your face. You squirm a little under his scrutiny and then Shidou takes a step towards you. You instinctively move back a step. One step forward, one back. Forward, back.
You grunt a little when you hit the opposite wall, Shidou crowding you against the wall. He leans in close, mouth right next to your ear. “I’ll tone it down on one condition.”
Your heart is about to beat out of its chest. “What is it?”
He smiles slyly and purrs, “Let me take you out.”
You dare to meet his gaze, shocked by its intensity. Your reply is so quiet, like it’s meant just for Shidou to hear. “Okay.”
His eyebrows raise and he asks, “Really?”
Your traitorous mouth lifts into a soft smile. “Yeah.” And Shidou beams.
You’ve learned that there are very few certainties in this world. But if there’s one thing you’re very certain of, it’s that (for better or worse) Shidou Ryusei can make your heart race.

The Chapter 4 Essay Part 1: Kokichi Ouma
A metapost on my thoughts on Kokichi’s overall motivations and Gonta’s actions during ch4. Split into two parts. You can find the Gonta half here: (LINK)
I think the way Kokichi acts when he’s telling the truth says something crucial about his personality. When he’s telling the genuine truth, his expression becomes carefully neutral.
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 1)
To me, it feels like he’s trying very hard to keep this face of neutrality. Normally, he’s able to expertly express any emotion that he wants to. In these moments, its almost like the emotion he’s feeling is so overpowering that he’s trying to repress it in order to maintain control over the face he presents to everyone else, but isn’t quite able to do so.
Kokichi is very careful about keeping people from seeing the parts of himself that he doesn’t choose to show. His villain persona and constant lying is part of this- He wants to keep people away from him. During the events of the killing game, he uses the distance that he creates in many ways. Part of it was that not having many close alliances allowed him to go off and do whatever he wanted during daily life. This let him explore the school and investigate the truth of the killing game without interruption or much attention. Lying also gave him distance between the game and himself. Pretending that the killing game was fun might’ve been his way to cope with everything that was happening. I think Kokichi is really damn good at separating himself from his emotions, lying to himself to do what he thinks needs to be done. This line from Chapter 1 is pretty telling…
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 1)
This was also something he says himself to Kaito in the exisal hanger during chapter 5.
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 5)
I’m inclined to believe everything that Kokichi says to Kaito in the exisal hanger. As Kiibo says when Kaito questions it, “I think his dying words may have been the honest truth.” Knowing he was about the die, and that he absolutely needed Kaito’s help to get his plan to break the killing game to work- to achieve his genuine, true goal- I don’t see any reason for him to lie.
This emotional distance extends past just the killing game. I think it's a key part of how he interacts with others around him.
Kokichi is an ultimate leader. I think he uses his talent throughout the game in an attempt to “lead” everyone from the shadows. He wanted to stop the killing game and escape with as many people as possible. However, his methods are very ends-justify-the-means. I believe that he did genuinely care about everyone at the ultimate academy, but in the detached way a distant king might care about his subjects. On the other hand, if he had to use or sacrifice a few as pawns for the greater good, that is what had to be done. It’s not like it didn’t emotionally affect him, but I think he was deliberately trying to keep his distance so that it would not impact him as much, and so that he could continue trying to tear the killing game apart with as many tools in his arsenal as possible.
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 5)
With this core motivation in mind, this brings us to Chapter 4.
In my opinion, the Killing Game Busters was never a plan that was meant to succeed. From an in-game perspective, the idea that he was originally going to follow this mercy kill plan doesn’t make sense to me. Firstly, Kokichi already had suspicions that they were being watched as early as chapter 3.
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 3)
…and he later confirms that he was fully convinced of this fact when Monokuma agreed to reuse the chapter 4 motive in the virtual world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 5)
He knew that this killing game was for somebody else’s entertainment. I’ll go a bit into the secret of the outside world in a moment, but considering this, I don’t think he ever fully believed in it. Choosing to mercy kill everyone, in the name of a “truth” that was incompatible with what he had discovered… just doesn’t make sense to me.
Not to mention, from a narrative standpoint, I think the idea that he was completely for this mercy kill plan, decided to throw out the plan mid-trial, and then start an entirely different plan to end the killing game in chapter 5, isn’t very compelling. It weakens Kokichi’s overall character by making his motivation less cohesive and making him seem less organized over all, which I think is one of his strengths as a character. A Kokichi that is this fickle with what he’s trying to do would not have been able to write the script for chapter 5.
I think he always had different goals in mind with the Killing Game Busters. The first was something that is made very clear in chapter 5, but started here in chapter 4: He wanted to stop the killing to give himself room to break the game while minimizing deaths. The second was to further villainize himself, for all the reasons I talked about above, and some more I will get into in a little bit.
Seeing the secret of the outside world was undoubtably disturbing, regardless of whether he believed it or not; there is a noticeable shift in how Kokichi acts before and after he swipes that card key. Combined with discovering that Miu, someone he’d been working with closely, was planning on murdering him, I believe that seeing the destruction of the outside world pushed him towards more drastic measures than what he had been doing in previous chapters. He decided that in order for his plan in chapter 5 to work (which he had almost certainly already been planning at this point, considering how elaborate it was), he needed to make everyone question if pursuing the truth was the right thing to do at all.
After Miu’s body discovery, nobody was really worried about losing this class trial. Everyone had seen how Shuichi had guided them all to the truth and caught the blackened three times in a row, despite the unique difficulties in each case. They had full confidence in his abilities.
Tumblr media
(investigation, chapter 4)
Shuichi is also not really doubting his abilities as a detective anymore. One of Shuichi’s core internal conflicts is his fear of the consequences of revealing the truth. Up to this point, it seems like he’s been moving past it. Especially after catching Korekiyo “Actual Serial Killer” Shinguji, who had no regrets or grey motivation for his killings. Shuichi’s morale, and subsequently everyone else’s, was at an all time high. (Of course, he was starting to feel a lot of pressure to solve these cases and save everyone on his own… but that’s another issue. ily Shuichi)
If Kokichi could take the wind out of Shuichi’s sails, really destroy the confidence he had built up so far, he could set up his impossible trial in chapter 5 to be more likely to work as intended. Everyone will be less motivated to try and figure out what happened if they are uncertain that finding the truth would actually result in anything good.
And I do believe he was trying to knock Shuichi off balance specifically. Damaging his confidence is one thing, but he was also deliberately trying to drive a wedge between him and Kaito. He antagonizes Kaito all chapter 4 investigation, including making up a nickname for Shuichi (“Shumai”) that directly riffs off Kaito’s closeness with Maki. He insists into the trial that he and Shuichi are partners now.
Tumblr media
(class trial, chapter 4)
(Sidenote: Kokichi’s behaviour during trial 4 is genuinely really interesting to me. On top of the direct digs like this, he says a lot more subtle things to get under Kaito’s skin during trial 4 that I think are super neat to pay attention to.)
Theoretically, pushing Kaito away from Shuichi, combined with the powerlessness he’ll feel in the wake of the truth of both trial 4 and the outside world, could make him easier to convince to join Kokichi’s “side”. He even directly asks Shuichi to team up with him before leaving the virtual world:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(daily life, Chapter 4)
This leads me to believe that Shuichi was originally the one that Kokichi intended to use to build his impossible trial. I mean, if Shuichi was the one in the exisal hanger and presumed dead instead of Kaito, the chances of everyone else solving that mystery drops Significantly. Everyone else, aside from maybe Kiibo, was 100% convinced that Kokichi was the mastermind at that point. No one except Shuichi would’ve tried to dig as deep as he did, for better or for worse. I think this idea is supported by the note that Kokichi wrote next to Shuichi’s face on the whiteboard in his room (“trustworthy?”). He was clearly considering Shuichi as a person for one reason or another, and I believe this is it.
By condemning Gonta, who everyone else perceived as a kind soul who would never hurt anybody, someone who was struggling to understand what the virtual world even was with his amnesia, would be perceived by the others as kicking someone when they were down. Gonta has an absolutely miserable time through the accusations and wholly blames himself for how things turned out in the end. That, and Gonta’s actions were even well-intentioned. The secret of the outside world was apparently so horrible, Gonta thought it would be kinder to mercy kill everyone rather than force them to face it. This result would make everyone question if the truth was really as undoubtably good as they had come to think so far; Not only did Gonta suffer because they had to find the truth, but seeking the secret of the outside world would apparently also only lead to suffering. This would make them hesitate during Kokichi’s impossible trial.
Tumblr media
(class trial, chapter 4)
As I said before, Kokichi’s second goal for trial 4 was villainizing himself even further. He says that this was a goal himself to Kaito in chapter 5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 5)
Part of this villainization was just adding to the persona he had already created for himself and that I already talked about his motivations for before. The other part was what he says here. He specifically wanted everyone to think that he was the mastermind. This gave him leverage in two main ways. First, making himself appear to be the mastermind with an actual mastermind as hands off as Tsumugi genuinely gave him power over everyone else. He used this in chapter 5 to put a pause to the killings and give himself more room to enact his plan to break the killing game from the inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(daily life, chapter 5)
Although he then says “You guys can commit suicide together or kill each other… / Or, you can change your mind and stay here! You’re welcome to do that too!”, having experienced the secret of the outside world already, I think he’s pretty confident in what they will be feeling in this moment. No one is going to kill each other, and he knows that. He wants them to take that second option for the time being while he sets up his plot.
Making himself appear like the mastermind also benefited his impossible trial plan directly. Everyone would be much more likely to vote for someone they were convinced was the mastermind rather than one of their friends. No one would suspect that it was really him that was the victim.
“Using Gonta and making him into a murderer” was a significant part of how he villainized himself, but the way he treated Gonta during this whole experience was also a major factor. Starting as early as just after Miu was killed, he begins to be really aggressively mean to Gonta. He just straight up bullies him throughout the second half of the trial.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(daily life, chapter 4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(class trial, chapter 4)
And then, after all this, he acts remorseful and sides himself with Gonta at the very end. It isn't genuine emotion like he felt before Kaede's execution, shown by his neutral expression. To me, this uncharacteristically open expression of grief feels like it was just set up to exacerbate the impact of his cruelty after Gonta’s execution. At this point, everybody’s little faith in Kokichi has been shaken significantly. With the shock of the trial, maybe you Could start to believe they were on the same side, as a team. Then, at the reveal of the extent of Kokichi’s manipulation, that is all ripped painfully away again.
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 4)
Tumblr media
(post trial, chapter 4)
Even if these parts of trial 4 make my stomach turn, I don’t want to imply that Kokichi is completely cold-hearted and unfeeling. Actually, I think there were multiple moments in chapter 4 that show him struggling to regulate his emotions and keep face around everyone else while he enacted this plan.
1: I don’t think Kokichi initially planned to make the reveal that Gonta was the killer as dramatic (or frankly, a bit traumatic) as it ended up being. He had been carrying himself a certain way during the first half of the trial, and I think Shuichi lying to his face in front of everyone about Kokichi’s own alibi dramatically changed his attitude. I mean, Shuichi lied (as he had done almost every trial and gotten 0 flack for) and Tsumugi even called him out on it, but everyone believed him over Kokichi anyways. So when Kokichi lies, it’s completely inexcusable, even though he’s been working tirelessly on his own trying to save everyone?* But when SHUICHI lies, and gets caught in it, people go along with him? They don’t doubt their trust in him for even a second? This double standard infuriated him. It’s at this point that he completely shifts in energy. If Shuichi, no, everyone, is going to disrespect him like this, he was going to make them suffer for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(class trial, chapter 4)
2: Kokichi only goes full villain after Kaito says “Kokichi, If you really cared for Gonta, explain yourself to everyone” in the post trial. I think that even though he was always going to paint himself as the villain, he was legitimately affected by the things that had just happened (Gonta’s death, Miu’s attempted murder, the secret of the outside world, even if he knew it wasn’t real) and what he’d just done. Even if he was trying hard not to be. The sudden shift he has from not saying anything to cackling about how little he cared about Gonta feels to me like he was kicking himself back into gear after trying to process some genuinely difficult emotions. 3: After Kokichi punches Kaito down, and everyone completely ignores him in favour of helping Kaito up, Shuichi says these iconic words to Kokichi: “Kaito always has us by his side, see? But no one wants to be around you. / You’re alone, Kokichi. And you always will be.” Kokichi responds like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Post-trial, chapter 4)
There’s something about the way he cuts himself off, pauses, and then his mask falls. I think Shuichi’s words got to him more than he wanted them to. Honestly, Kokichi’s attitude towards cooperation, keeping everyone at arm’s length, and insisting (to himself) that he (as a leader) must fix the killing game completely on his own just seems so lonely to me. Even if he is intentionally trying to alienate himself and get everyone to hate him, being so viscerally cut into like this must have hurt. Especially from someone he was trying to work to get onto his side. It’s no wonder he quickly left after this moment.
This is what I think drove Kokichi in chapter 4. He’s a leader who wants to “lead” his classmates into safety, but he isn’t afraid to use underhanded, cruel tactics if he thinks it will get him ahead in the game for the greater good. He viscerally represses his emotions in order to keep himself going and keep everyone else away from him. He tried to destroy Shuichi’s confidence and drive a wedge between him and Kaito to get him on his side for his plan. He used and made Gonta into a murderer to villainize himself and discourage everyone else from seeking the truth.
Whenever I imagine Kokichi on his own, out of the spotlight of the Audience or the eyes of his castmates, he’s never as expressive as he is in the open. I think in reality, Kokichi is a pretty depressed and lonely person. His clownish personality isn’t entirely a facade, and outside of a killing game scenario, I think he would act pretty similarly to how he does in game. But I do think that he uses it as a mask for his true emotions. While I feel like the “evil villain” persona is a genuine part of Kokichi’s personality, outside of the killing game he probably doesn’t act on it as deeply as he does in-game. I also think Kokichi struggles with letting people become close to him, even without anything on the line. The killing game just caused him to lean into these aspects of his personality hard, and in potentially the worst ways.
*I feel like here it’s important to mention that personally, I still think the collateral damage he caused in his attempts to stop the killing game matters. A lot. I don’t think he should be excused for the things he did, even if he had good intentions. This makes him a really interesting, morally grey character, and I like that about him. EDIT: I can't believe I have to add this, but please do not use this essay as ammunition for harassing people who ship ougoku… I don't agree with doing that at all. I hope I made it clear that I find Kokichi to be a complex character whose mistreatment of Gonta was never targeted, and more just an aspect how how he isolated himself and how he manipulated others to end the killing game, even if it caused suffering to them in the moment. Kokichi cares about everyone in the ultimate academy, in his own weird, detached way. He's not completely heartless nor is he an abusive monster. And even if none of that was the case, it's never an excuse to harass people for disagreeing with you. Please be cool!! Thanks <3

it sounds so stupid but i’m shaking so much right now. i’m so scared and i’m terrified after the movie release and all the media going out. i’m beyond scared right now. gosho, Kaishin has been my lifeline and my support- my comfort ship for YEARS now. i can’t leave them, i never can- but because of this i’ve become so scared of talking about them to people, i’m scared of being cancelled or talked down to for being so attached to them as characters and especially as a ship. they helped me to get through some of my hardest times and now at my lowest again this happens. i feel like shit and again have to watch people bash them and state “isn’t it obvious” when every dcmk character resembles each other?
i love kaishin so much. i love kaito, i love shinichi.
detective and thief dynamic has always been my favourite…
they’re my comfort ship. i have no one to talk to, roleplay with or share my love for them to. it’s so lonely and this only made it worse. i don’t want to be delusional and say the movie isn’t canon or what not but please… if there’s anyone who’s still staying please reach out. again it’s so stupid but they’re my comfort and attachment and i’ve been crying for an hour straight because i’ll still love kaishin with all my heart. i thought i’d have enough time to reach out and gain friends from the ship and fandom but i guess not!
this made me feel alone all over again.

I saw a post on tumblr ranting about darlings never actually fighting back or way too easily giving into their yan in dangerous situations. For the life of me I can’t find the post again but it really stuck with me and now I can’t help but think :3c
So here’s what my yans would do if they had a darling that would fight (and win) against them!!
Tumblr media
<3 So it was a typical day.
<3 And by typical I mean that Milo was rummaging around your room to find some of your clothes or makeup to “borrow”.
<3 They can’t help it!! You have such a cute style! Milo loves having things you like and wearing them himself! It feels like you’re both truly together x3
<3 What they hadn’t accounted for was you coming home early from work.
<3 You weren’t feeling too well, and after having gotten permission you got to come home early. Happy to finally get some rest, you walked into your house, set your keys down, and went right up to your room.
<3 What you hadn’t accounted for was some guy in your room going through your closet.
<3 It was silent between the two of you, both of you staring at each other, frozen in place.
<3 Then panic ensued, you grasped at your pockets, trying to find your phone and run out of the room, but whoever this damn intruder was could move. Milo was grabbing your arms and pulling you back before you could even make it into the hall.
<3 They tried to calm you down, promise they didn’t want to scare you and something about liking you. You couldn’t pay much attention. Your fight or flight was kicking in.
<3 Without much of a thought you twisted your arms, causing Milo’s grip to loosen. Then you grabbed his arm and, using all your strength, flipped them over your shoulder. They fell onto the ground, coughing and gasping for air when their back hit the ground.
<3 You thought maybe that would be enough, but they were already trying to get back up. You quickly pushed them back down onto the ground with your foot, your heel digging into their chest.
<3 It was silent once again, the sound of both of you catching your breaths filled the room.
<3 You expected more of a fight, but instead Milo seemed utterly ecstatic.
<3 Their face was just as pink as their hair, staring up at you with the most loving but insane look. You thought they’d be furious, maybe scared? Anything but this. It only made him more unsettling.
<3 “Y-You.. you’re so strong!! ..Do you like throwing me around? You can do it as much as you like! You can step on me more too!! I’ll love anything you’d do to me ♡”
<3 What.
<3 You stepped away, more freaked out than before, but Milo immediately started to whine.
<3 “N-No..! Step on me again! Throw me around and make me filled with marks and bruises! I’ll cherish every single one!! I promise!!”
<3 Milo thought it was exhilarating. The fact that you could pick them up and toss them around like they were nothing. It was just another thing he loved about you. They’d let you do it forever if that’s what you wanted.
<3 You were a little torn on whether to keep trying to hurt him or to call the police, though regardless now Milo is a lot more bold when he swings by. All in hopes maybe you’ll have your way with them, in any way you chose ♡
Tumblr media
(Small TW for a brief needle mention at the end ^^)
<3 With Kaito, he had just successfully managed to take you away, keeping you secure in his basement.
<3 Now, when you woke up in a random room that looked like your own, but wasn’t. You were reasonably upset.
<3 You knew you weren’t home. And one of the many reasons was the fact that the only door there wouldn’t open.
<3 You kicked at it, rammed your shoulder into it, tried to lock pick it with one of the various items around. Nothing worked. You were ready to tear up the entire room.
<3 That is until you heard the door about to open, and immediately you opted to hide. Not that there were many places to do so.
<3 Some strange guy emerged, someone you had never known. In an instant, you tried to run past him, but he grabbed you and pushed you back before you had the chance. The door was shut right after.
<3 If he had managed to get into the room, that could mean he had some sort of key. As soon as you got back up you threw yourself onto him.
<3 You tried to throw a punch, but Kaito quickly caught it, yanking you forward. You caught yourself on his shoulder, shoving him back against the door.
<3 The two of you fought for some time. Though Kaito never once harmed you. He might’ve tried to throw you off, directing your punches and hits to the side, but never attacking back much to your surprise
<3 Kaito wasn’t at all unharmed by it, scratches, hand prints, you could even see a bruise blossoming on his cheek. But he sure had endurance. Regardless of how much you fought him he never fell.
<3 You started to yell, scream at him to let you go as you clawed into his skin and shoved him aside, but he only grabbed you to bring you down with him.
<3 Kaito had prepared for you to fight. But he had experienced much worse than anything you could ever give. He’d never hurt you, he’d let you beat him up as much as you pleased if that’s what you truly wanted.
<3 He waited until you tired yourself out, your punches growing more and more softened.
<3 “You done, doll? Got all of it out of your system?"
<3 You threw another punch, rage compensating for your lack of energy.
<3 Kaito only laid back to take it, moving his arms to wrap around your waist, something you were too tired to fight back against. Right when you were too worn out, you felt a sharp needle against your arm, and you fell asleep on his chest.

!!RANT!!
Am i the only one that’s getting tired and annoyed with the show Detective Conan?? Bc it’s been getting on my nerves for like the past few months now, and I’m just so fucking done with it.
1) First of all, the show has been going on for almost 30 years now (keyword almost actually 28 i think) and it’s only been a few months in the series (even tho there are over 1100 episodes which actually means that almost every episode is a day, taking off 2parters and collected episodes, also excluding the movies. Which means it’s technically been around 2 years and/or more)
2) The relationships are starting to get on my nerves as well platonic/romantic and just the complex relationships between side characters and/or Rivals, Like Kaito Kid & Conan. The romantic relationship between Ran and Schinichi is starting to feel absolutely creepy, useless and boring, especially considering Conan is Kinda her brother now, Ran loves Conan as her little brother, while he is technically her boyfriend (see how that is kinda off putting😃)
(i can make an intire post on the Ranshin relationship another time, if people want my opinion)
The characters that suddenly come in and all just start hounding on Conan/Shinichi is also getting really fucking annoying, it’s like it’s starting to turn into a harem but only for… fans…?? Does that make sense? Bc we know Canon is ShinRan but the creator is starting to put A LOT of Coai into the movies and series, and I’m like.. dude… I have no issues with shipping different characters, but that the creator is putting it INTO THE literal anime is kinda annoying, it’s like he’s creating Drama and love triangles on purpose, even tho the anime had NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT??
(Haibara, Sera, Ran, Ayumi and another girl, forgot her name tho. All these characters have interest in schinichi/Coan)
It’s just annoying how Gosho keeps ruining duos and relationships. Like i love the the Kaito kid episodes with Conan, they’re just my favorite, but Gosho pretty much just added Amuro into the loop for no reason?!? Like i just don’t like Amuro (never did, but i didn’t go out of my way to ignore him, he’s important to the story) but adding him into a Rivalry that’s been going on for so long, and has its own special ring to it and special rules between two people with a double life, that only trust each other, when their life depends on it, it just ruined my intire love and experience for the episode.
3)The end?? I literally cannot see a good ending to this show. The only reasonable answer, in my opinion would be: Conan moves back to America and pretty much just loses contact with the others, or he died (doesn’t add up in the end either) and everyone forgets him over time, so schinichi can come back. There literally is no good ending to this show, even if people figured out Conan was schinichi (in fact i think that is the worst ending)
I should probably explain more but I’m kinda in a rush and I’m probably gonna edit this slightly later, but this is already long so if ya have any questions I’ll try to answer and make a post about it, to be more clear

Post includes spoilers for all chapter.
I went back to read the chapter and here are some rough notes I took while reading. I’ll probably make it a little more coherent in time, but this is rough. Basically footnotes for future reference.
Ghouls
Lucas - Iggnaim / barrier (as per Hyde)
“I could have sworn the bullet had been coming straight for us. But the instant before it hit Luca, it vanished, as though swallowed by some invisible force”
Kaito - Can see auras (as per Hyde)
Academy of Ghouls
Chapter 2
- Taiga on a mission. When did they lose permission to go on missions?
- What is Taiga’s power, Crunched glass and blood into his gun?
Chapter 3
- Haku when Taiga prepares to throw us out the window- “come on, man. Don’t do that in front of me.” — “I’m just saying. I’ll have to tell the academy, and no one wants that.”
- Haku acting as inspector? This why Sinostra grounded?
- Haku blows flute ans smells of rain with bubbles coming out our throat. Does his power transport people from red dimension to regular dimension?
Chapter 4
- “Wasn’t it nighttime when I left the concert?” -mc “I had a bad feeling when I heard Taiga was heading this one. Glad I cordoned everything off” - Haku
-Is the change in dimension the “new moon” mentioned in prophecy?
- Haku on the phone “Hello? Yeah, slight emergency. No, not Taiga… well kind of him, I suppose” talking to professor Nikolas as per chapter 6
Chapter 7
- “… then someone with a gun showed up… then he attacked me too for some reason, but Haku saved me” MC “No way. Taiga did what? Sorry, gonna have to pretend I didn’t hear that part.” Professor Hyde
Chapter 9
- (Regarding the anomaly and Taiga) “That anomaly is very troublesome. That’s why we chose Hoshibami, one of the more aggressive ghouls, to handle it. But he failed to capture or even defeat it. What’s the point of ghouls students if they can’t do what’s on the tin?”
- “Ghouls are not ordinary humans. They are physically tougher and posses certain special abilities”
- Only ghouls can become special admission students
- “The mesmer matches aren’t working on you. perhaps the curse is cancelling them out. If the matches worked, then she wouldn’t be cursed anymore” (they take away curses as well as memories????)
Chapter 10
- We will need to check your belongings, so please leave everything here
- “(…) General student house reassignments today, prophecy research, and Clash clean up ASAP (chancellor to himself)
- “The chancellor told me I was going to die in a year” “Darkwick is on the cutting edge of anomalous research. Unfortunately that means your diagnosis… is likely quite accurate” prof Nicholas
Chapter 11
- “I hurriedly grabbed a nearby piece of black fabric, pulled it over my head, and held my breath
Chapter 13
- Talking about veil “oh this is a keepsake from my mother” “Oh… I actually have something like that too!” -Kaito (pendant?)
- Kaito “huh? It’s usually super crowded around here… where did everyone go? What’s going on? Maybe someone posted about it on Wickchat”
- Kaito “my gram always told me to believe in destiny. Maybe I was born to protect you.”
- (In courtyard) Kaito “No one here either?Weird…”
Chapter 16
- Hera’s Snakes
- “Hera’s snakes? I feel like I’ve heard that name in class…” -Kaito
Chapter 18
- How many times do I have to tell you? If you can’t pay… just hand over this pendant instead!!” “How many times have I gotta tell you, this is the one thing you’ll never get from me!!” Romeo and Kaito
Chapter 19
- Why are you wearing Hera’s Snakes
- When alarms went off the three ghouls thought the anomaly had appeared. Alarms were blaring because you were wearing an anomaly while jumping the platform, not because you tried to jump the platform
- Romeo grabbed aggressively our arm while yelling at us and the veil attacked with tentacle’s
Chapter 20
- Veil only attacks when MC believes she is in danger, not if someone touches her . “Protect me from people with malicious intent”
- Can’t remove veil from self. Luca and Kaito were able to move it
Chapter 21
- “The cost of this veil’s power is that you can’t remove it yourself” Luca
- Luca pledged to find a cure for the curse
Chapter 22
- Veil starts glowing and floating. “It’s warm” MC reaches out with her hand. “My finger is burning” then ring appears on MCs hand.
- Romeo aimed gun at MC. Luca takes MC wrist. Ring glowed. Luca uses his power. Black veil tentacles protects as well as Luca’s powers. “Something feels.. wrong…” -Luca. Huge monster appears. Can MC see monster? She was the only one to not react to monster. “You… what did you just do…?” -Luca
- “Mr. Lucci! I have a bone to pick either you over this and over your captain’s recent behaviour! Chancelor to Romeo
Chapter 23
- “Professor Nicholas! Please try removing the ring from her finger” “W-what?! That’s Hera’s Snakes, right…?” “Just be gentle and you’ll be fine! Probably. (…)”
- Ring does not move at all when Prof Nicolas tries to remove it. Chancellor says we need to take the stigma test
- “I’m sorry I didn’t notice how scared you were” (…) “please don’t worry. I’ll do my best to make sure you have as much freedom as possible” -Nicolas
- Screen goes black. MC name plate “or so he said…but now this…” I think the dark is the blindfold that is put on MC. Not a narrator/foreshadowing screen
- Regarding the examiner. “When they (shoe sounds) were inches away, they stopped, and a sweet smell like incense tickled my nose”. MC does not recognize the voice. Refers to voice as “he”
Chapter 24
- Regarding the tea Hyde brought to the Chancellors office. “when I inhaled the floral scent wafting from it, suddenly I felt strangely calm” hyde mentioned it has « Epione’s Flower «  and that it was good for nerves and anxiety. Tea was made by Nicolas
- “It seems that you … … possess the ability to enhance ghoul’s stigmas!”
- Regarding ghouls “do you recall the students you’ve encountered who possessed exceptional combat abilities” Chancellor
- “”Ghouls transcend humans in both ability and aggression.”the evidence is irrefutable” Chancellor
- Ghouls referred to as “special admission students” they have “devoured a demon”
- “Since time immemorial, humans have sold their souls to demons in exchange for the granting of a wish. We call this a demon pact. But the realization of a wish… comes at a price. Usually, the pact maker dies a gruesome death. Even if they manage to escape death, they eventually becomes a soulless husk. This is because the soul of the pact maker… … is devoured by their demon. However! Although they are extremely rare, there are some individuals… who survive their pact completely unharmed. Those one-in-a-million exception… … are the ghouls whom you met today (at this point we have met five ghouls. There were 5 characters in the OG concept. Curious if that is related to the OG concept)
- “We are still in the thick of our research, so there are unknowns remaining, of course. But the leading theory is that they acquire inhumain powers by devouring demons” chancellor
Chapter 25
- “Through our research we may be able to get to the bottom of how they survived unharmed … … and indeed, what the true identity of these entities we call demons is!” Chancellor
- “Unlike humans, ghouls possess enduring physical strength. They also possess a special ability gained through devouring a demon. Essentially, they have a superpower. We call that power a “stigma” chancellor
- “Another interesting thing about ghouls is their incantation. They seem to have to need it to trigger their stigma. Some have to say it out loud, whereas others can just say it in their heads”. Hyde
- “I believe Mr. Kamurai (Jin) used to say it out loud when he was a first year, but after a while he stopped needing to” Chancellor “I think it has something to do with their level of proficiency using their stigma, and with their mental state” Hyde
- Watching video replay of the Luca arm holding incident. “Huh…? That monster should have been standing right above us there… Why isn’t it in the video?”
- That ring on your finger is most likely the Sage’s Ring “who would of thought it would be disguising itself as Hera’s Snakes” chancellor “We thought Hera’s Snakes was a dangerous anomaly that caused the death of it’s wearers. And yet here you are. I think it’s safe to assume that you have been chosen by the ring
- So there was no Hera’s Snakes to begin with, just the ring pretending to be a veil and killing the unworthy?
Chapter 26
- While travelling on the train, you had the misfortune of encountering an anomaly that curses people. Anyone who sees its eye is cursed to die in one year’s time.
- If you can forget the eye the curse will be immediately broken. (AKA mesmer matches that don’t work on us)
- Our Mesmer Matches can erase one days worth of memories, but the curse is too powerful, so they don’t work
- Inspector = compiling mission reports
- An Inspector? Are you sure I could do something like that?
- Of course! Since the Mesmer Matches don’t work on you, if anything, you’re the perfect candidate. -Chancellor
- Those troublemakers sure are creative with their interpretations of “reasonable use” - hyde
- Anomaly that cursed us is Class B
- Granted scholarship to cover academic and personal costs
Chapter 27
- Chancellor asks Hyde for the Kudan at entrance ceremony
- Kudan = beast of prophecy
- Weighing of souls. General students at orientation. Ghouls/special admission at entrance ceremony
- “But where the ghouls go affects the power balance of the houses. It’s kind of a big deal, so they usually do it at the entrance ceremony -Kaito
- There’s seven houses this year
Chapter 27
- Take the hand of this mannequin, and envision your ambitions for your time here” - chancellor to new ghouls for weighing
- “I’m not in Frostheim…? Has there been a mistake? - Ritsu when put in Sonostra
- Even the general admission students in Sinostra are a shady crowd. The whole house has a bad rep. - Kaito
- Taiga and Romeo not at entrance ceremony.
- Judging by the state of the chancellor, I bet Sinostra’s gonna get in trouble
- “One for Vagastrom… The dissidents will be happy. 😠- kaito
- Dissidents…? Are there factions or something? MC
- Something like that, yeah. Kaito
- Vagastrom is a delinquent stomping ground. You should stay away from there, Sam. Apparently they gather in some room under their house every night and do crazy stuff… And I heard their captain was arrested for theft or murder or something before he came to Darkwick. - Kaito
- Before??
- Jabberwock’s in charge of looking after all the anomolous animals in Darkwick’s custody. The Academystopped general admissions for Jabberwock recently, so all the students are ghouls.
Chapter 29
- The year’s only just begun and it’s one calamity after another. MC will need to roll up her sleeves!
Chapter 30
- The professor seems flustered. Has there been a problem? -Luca
- Oh, yeah. Let’s just hope there not already a fight over the new ghoul assignments… - Kaito
- Kaito regarding Hotarubi student “they feel kinda fake…. They’ve gotta be hiding something, right?!”
- Regarding Mot.. “they major in specialized medical fields like anomalous medicine.
- Kaito regarding ghouls “our bodies aren’t the same as regular humans. Mainstream medicine doesn’t work for us.
- Always connected to Academy even after grad for health treatments?
- It’s the newest one of the current lineup. There’s no general students, and even most ghoul students can’t join it. Let’s just say it’s special. You can’t be assigned there via the Weighing of Souls. I don’t know much about them either, but rumour has it their captain was the one who- (Kaito)
- The clash???
- Memory pot.
- “ The whisper of the new moon shall lead the champion to the academy on the solitary isle. So long as the champion resides there, the world shall be sheltered from profound tragedy.” (Prophecy)
- The prophecy of the Kudan is a bastion of hope that has been entrusted to us. Chancellor
- The whispers of the new moon refers to the tidings that bring us to the birth pf a new ghoul. The academy on the solitary isle is, of course, Darkwick academy. The ghouls who have been gathered here by the new moons whisper… shall save the world from profound tragedy! They are our champions!
- She posses a special gift-the power to enhnce your stigmas just by touching you! The Mesmer Matches that you carry for missions don’t work on her. The details of the missions she inspects will be accurately recorded with absolute accuracy. That means you can tidy up the little ambiguities that have persisted in your reports up until now. - Chancellor to student body
- We cormed this theory based on the results of seceral tests and my own professional opinion. Tragically, Sam has been cursed by an anomaly she encountered by chance. If the curse isn’t broken, she’ll die in one year. As the Chancellor explained, Mesmer matches don’t work on her. It can be reasoned that the curse is cancelling out the effects of the matches (bc if we forget the eye we aren’t cursed anymore?) (…) Of course, Darkwick can’t allow the properties of a fatal curse to remain unknown. -Hyde
- MC notes the atmosphere in auditorium got tense, felt she wasn’t welcome.
Chapter 31/32
- Collapsed after the end of chapter 30 while onstage
- Dante new Frostheim house adviser
- Not ready for a mission yet. Focus on classes as per Dante
- “A new phone? What happened to my-“
- RIP MC’s phone, hope you enjoy lockup
- “I HATE THIS PLACE!! I didn’t ask to be a ghoul!! (…) I can’t take this anymore… I want to go back to being an ordinary human. -Kaito w pissed off face for first part
- Didn’t know consequences of pact or didn’t make one?
- I swear to you that I’ll turn you back into a human. So please, stop crying. (…)This is an ordeal that has been imposed upon us. Kaito, I’m sure that you can overcome it. Luca to Kaito
- Gonna be honest, I’ve got no idea what you’re talking about… (kaito) That’s fine, for now. (…) eventually you’ll understand the reason for this suffering. Until then, I’ll do all in my power to protect you both -Luca
Chapter 33
- ….Was it a demon that cursed you? Luca. When I looked over at Luca, it was as though the moonlight had disappeared from his eyes. A shover ran up my spine. I’d seen that expression before.
- Brother curse by demon? Or some other reason for vibe change?
- Seen the expression before from Luca or somewhere else?
First pic - Chapter 30showing the ghouls in attendance. Towa, Jim, Ed, and Haku not pictured.
(Thought Halu had attended)

—foreseeable forever ● T. Seiya
Tumblr media
a/n: I cannot thank you enough for being so patient with me, anon! I truly had fun writing this and i hope you enjoy reading it too! <3 not proofread
pairing: Takehaya Seiya x fem!reader
summary: maybe opening her heart a bit late was not too bad <3
rules
Tumblr media
“Y/n, I need you to sign this form as the Kyudo Vice President. The homeroom teacher has asked for it.” Seiya Takehaya gave a piece of paper to his best friend.
Y/n’s eyes glided over the form before she thrust the paper into Seiya’s chest, making him stumble back from the sudden force.
“I’ll do it later,” she declared as she hastily took her bow and began shooting at the targets. The other club members seemed to observe them with bated breath, the atmosphere thick.
“Is something the matter with you all?” Y/n questioned, making them turn around and get ready to shoot. Y/n was known to be friendly and although she could be loud, she never lashed out at them like this. And most of the club members knew the reason why.
Seiya gave troubled looks to the boys they could only shake their heads and resume practicing in fear that Y/n might scold them again. She did seem on edge for the past few days.
Takehaya had noticed something; Y/n had been ignoring him for quite some time now. The two would not spend their recess talking about literature, nor did Y/n visit him with baked goods like she used to. Was it because the club activities were too tiring for her? No, she works well under pressure and she loves her position as much as she loves kyudo. Was it because Seiya had not returned the book she lent him? No. That’s not it.
Seiya now made it his mission to make Y/n open up. He couldn’t bear Y/n avoiding him, he needed her to live, no that’s too cheesy. He needs her to—continue existing. For the next hour, Seiya spent the club hours not shooting arrows but pestered Y/n with all sorts of things in hopes that she will finally give in and say what’s wrong.
“Y/n can I come over at your house for the math homework?”
“No.”
“Do you want to drink something? I’ll get it for you”
“Nope.”
“Want to go for a walk on our way home?”
“I’m busy.”
“Y/n, can y—” She cut the boy off. “Takehaya Seiya, I don’t know what you’re up to but leave me alone!”
Ouch, the full name, Seiya thought. He’s really in trouble now. Nonetheless, he held the girl’s hand firmly. “But I want to know what happened with you!”
Y/n shook her hand to get him off but Seiya was persistent. “Nothing happened, now let me go.” Y/n said or ordered him but Seiya still held on to her.
“Let me go, I have to practise. Unlike you, Seiya, I’m not a genius in everything I do.”
“Is Kyudo more important than me?”
Tears pricked Y/n’s eyes. Seeing thet, Seiya could no longer hold her anymore. “If only,” Y/n walked away from him, taking her bows and packing them.
“Takigawa-san, can I leave early today?” The coach could only hum out a ‘hmm’ before the girl stormed off the Kazemai kyudo hall.
The girls too started to pack their things and the boys gathered around Seiya. It took him a few minutes to compose himself before he asked the guys if anyone knew anything. It was only Nanao who commented.
“You don’t know anything about girls, do you?”If it was any other time, Seiya would have laughed it off but he’s not in the state of mind to joke.
“Now’s not the time, Kisaragi.”
“But he’s true though,” Kaito said as he ran his hair through his auburn hair. “What do you mean?”
Nanao giggled. “Honestly Seiya, do you need another par of glasses to see it?’’ The poor boy was dumbstruck once again. “See what?”
“That  Y/n is in love with you.”
It did not matter who said that, all Takehaya could feel was his heart beating so loudly against his chest that he felt it would burst out. “She…does?”
Kaito sighed, patting Seiya at the back. “If I were you, I’d run after. Would not want for her to get stolen from me,” he said with a smirk.
Almost instantaneously, Seiya charged out the door and ran towards the bus stand where he quickly spotted Y/n walking with her head down. Before he would lose sight of her, he sprint and caught her wrist, making her turn around.
“Seiya…!”
“Y/n, please tell me what’s going on, please! I need to know!”
His demand made the girl look down at the floor. How could he expect for a girl to open up her heart only for it to be broken? What’s the point? He’ll only end up hating her, but she needed to tell him. She needed to tell him how her heart skipped a beat whenever she looked at him, how she always imagined them to be together before she went off to sleep, every day, and how jealous she would get whenever she would see Seiya talking to other girls. She needed to, even if it meant it would break her heart. He had to know.
“Do you really want to know?’’
“More than anything.”
“Then listen,” she breathed in. “I hate you, Takehaya Seiya. I hate you for making me this way. I hate you for you have made me choose my heart rather than my head. I hate how you make me feel, hate how I cannot help but smile whenever I look or even think of you. I’m so in love with you, that it hurts,” her tears fell uncontrollably as she finally bared her heart open.
Seiya could not form a response, all he could do was pull y/n close to him and let her cry her heart out, he could only caress and play with her hair and wait for her to calm down. It was now his time to wait, and he would do so until however long.
When she finally did calm down, he made her look at him. “How long have you loved me?”
“…2nd  grade of middle school,” Y/n replied hesitantly making the boy “Wow.”
Seiya pulled her for a kiss, startling her but once she realized what was happening, she quickly kissed him back. “One,” Seiya said when they pulled away before pulling her back in. “Two,” he did this for a total of two more times.
“That,” he said as he lovingly caressed Y/n’s face, “was for all those years that I have not loved you. I’ll love you everyday for our foreseeable forever.”
The club members who were watching could no longer hold in their happiness as the girls squealed, giving away their hiding spot making the boys facepalm.
“You guys can come out now,” Takehaya smiled, as they ran towards them to congratulate.
Y/n was happy, truly happy. Maybe she should have been more confident in herself, but even though it was a long wait, it was worth it.

Protective!Korekiyo x Injured!Reader
CW: Blood, injuries, mentions of chapter 2’s victim, bruises
✨she/her pronouns will be used!✨
Korekiyo is in his lab, admiring all of the items and strangely Angie is in there too, creating a sketch of the god dog statue while Kiyo is infodumping telling her everything he knows about it and seances he’s done in the past.
“Nyahaha! Very inspiring, Kiyo! Have you ever talked to any of the spirits you summon?” Angie asks.
“Mmm, only spirits that have had grudges against other people and then I’ve… helped… out spirits and helped them move on to the afterlife.” Kiyo responds.
“Neat! I’m gonna finish this art piece and give it to you when I’m done, okay? Bye-onara!” Angie leaves.
“Angie is the last person I’d expect to come and visit my wonderful lab and genuinely showed interest in the things here. The only other person that shows interest is Y/N, the way her eyes sparkle when I first showed her everything is something I’ll never forget. It was very adorable. Speaking of which, where is she? We had plans to go to the garden and tell her some stories because she loves listening to them.”
Kiyo leaves his lab and wanders around, with a determined look in his eyes. He runs to a nearby classroom and looks around. “Odd. She comes here occasionally when she just needs a quiet space that usually nobody enters. Y/N comes in here when something serious is on her mind or if she is troubled about something. I learn new things about her all the time.”
Surprisingly enough, Kiyo runs very fast.
“I wonder where she could be. Could she be in her room perhaps?” Kiyo makes his way towards Y/N’s room and knocks on the door. No response. He decides to wait for a bit. After about five minutes he gets worried and calls her phone. Kiyo’s phone continues to ring and nobody picks it up.
He decides to call again and weirdly enough Kaito answers it. “Y/N? Where are you? Are you al-”Kaito interrupts him. “Yo, who is th- Wait… Kiyo??? Where are YOU? Something bad happened at the pool and everybody else is here and we were wondering where you were at. Ya know what? It doesn’t matter. Come to the pool immediately. Monokuma is here too.” Kaito hangs up.
Kiyo decides to text “Y/N” when he starts walking to the pool. ‘Kaito. I’m on my way.’ SEND.
“Hopefully Y/N is there, I just wonder why she wouldn’t message me or give me a call.”
The Ultimate Anthropologist eventually makes his way to the pool. He got lost for a little bit lol
He opens the door and everybody turns their head towards Kiyo. He looks at Y/N and is surprised. “Oh my. Why is she face down on the ground? Why does it look like the pool is a faint shade of red?”
Tumblr media
Gonta picks her up and gently rolls her over and Y/N has bruises and blood on her arms and legs. Everybody gasps. His surprised feeling quickly turns to anger once he put the pieces together.
“WHAT HAPPENED. WHO DID THIS? Why is she bloody.”
Tumblr media
“Well dipshit, it’s obvious she was attacked. Maybe she was thrown in the pool after she was attacked so she would drown.” Miu says, rolling her eyes.
“Um… Kiyo.. Kirumi spotted her while she was cleaning and got my attention and Kaito got everybody else.” Tsumugi states.
Kokichi sneaks up to Y/N and starts slapping her in the face continuously, trying to wake her up. “Kokichi, stop! You’re going to make Kiyo even more ma-“ Kaede exclaims while Kiyo turns his head and stands right behind Kokichi. Kokichi sees his shadow and flinches. He eventually stops. He’s actually kind of scared.
“Are you trying to hurt her even more? If so, I will tear out your nerves.” Kiyo asks angrily.
“Grrr… you degenerate male! You should know better to not lay a hand on a girl! Especially my friends!” Tenko exclaims. She gets into a battling stance, wanting to beat the shit out of Kokichi.
Gonta starts to pat her on the back, in hopes of getting Y/N to cough up the water. “Please wake up for not just Gonta, but for all of friends…”
Kiyo walks up to Y/N and sits on his knees next to her. He picks her up and gives her a gentle hug, not knowing what else to do.
Moments pass and he feels that she’s getting warmer (aka blushing) and eventually coughs up a bunch of water.
Kiyo’s eyes widen, along with everybody else. Y/N tries to speak but she’s too busy coughing.
Y/N eventually stops and looks around in a panic. “What- where- KIYO? You’re here?”
Kiyo smiles and nods, putting his hand on her head, almost like he’s protecting her. Y/N smiles real big, still blushing.
“Damn Y/N, were you THAT thirsty or what?” Miu asks, laughing. Everybody but Y/N just gives Miu a LOOK that says ‘are you actually serious right now’.
Almost like “🤨”
Y/N starts to laugh under her breath and everybody then turns to look at Y/N. “Miu-“
Miu turns to look at Y/N, confused. “Yeah?”
Y/N just starts to laugh… like a genuine laugh. Everybody is just dumbfounded.
“I- That joke was… hahaha- very funny!” Y/N exclaims while trying to catch her breath.
“Wowwww, Y/N, you’re like the ONLY person who finds Miu’s dirty jokes funny.” Kokichi says while rolling his eyes.
Kiyo then starts to look at everybody in the room. “Anyways, Y/N, do you remember who your attacker was? Do you remember what they looked like?”
Y/N starts thinking to herself. “Umm, uhh…whoever it was… was short. I only saw a silhouette. I only saw them for a brief second…. I think everything went black? I could’ve been attacked and pushed out the window.”
Ryoma shudders. “I’ve destroyed the mafia before, but how come somebody falling out of a window send chills down my spine..? Odd.”
Kiyo then looks at Ryoma, Himiko and Kokichi rather menacingly, eyes glowing.
Himiko is the only one who’s actually terrified. Ryoma sighs. “You don’t need to suspect me, I was practicing tennis in my room.”
“Why would you suspect me? I have nothing against Y/N!” Kokichi yells.
“LIES! Just last week you pulled a massive prank on Y/N by hiding a bunch of her belongings! Some of them are STILL missing!” Kiyo yells with a hint of growl.
Kokichi starts laughing. “That’s hilarious!! She’s just such an easy target. She’s just dumb. I could prank the absolute shit out of her and nobody without suspect a thing.”
Korekiyo growls. “How DARE you say such a thing?”
Tumblr media
“Oh man! It seems like you’re upset with me! I probably should’ve lied!”
Y/N looks up at her boyfriend. “Kiyo… I greatly appreciate you protecting me, you don’t know how much it means to me…”
“But of course, Y/N, you’re very precious to me. I would do anything for you.” Kiyo responds.
Y/N looks at Kokichi and growls. “You’re the one who took my prized belongings?!” Her eyes glow.
Kokichi sighs. “LIKE I’VE SAID BEFORE… Y/N… you’re so slow and a—“
Tumblr media
Y/N dashes towards Kokichi with intense anger. She tackles him and glares at him rather intensely. “You need to learn to shut your fucking mouth, you motherfucker.”
“Y/N, please stop! Fighting with Kokichi will get us nowhere. We need to figure out who hurt you. But first. Monokuma! Come on out!” Kiibo yells and Monokuma pops up.
“What’s up? You called?” Monokuma responds.
“Take her to a nearby hospital!” Kiibo responds back.
“Well, alright, she hasn’t broken any rules. We have to go all the way to Jabberwock Island for that, are you SURE you wanna risk her dying? She might bleed out.”
Kaito and Kiyo look at her and then Monokuma. “Take her. Kiyo will kill us if she doesn’t come back so she better come back, Monokuma!”
“I wasn’t going to give you a choice really, just felt like doing a bit of trolling. As long as she, or anybody else for that matter, don’t break the rules, anybody can go to the hospital. Ah-ah-ah, you can’t come in here, Korekiyo, there’s no room.”
The Monokuma ambulance disappears in the blink of an eye.
Himiko notices some arrows. “Arrows? I bet this was used to attack her. Nyeh? What’s a necklace doing in the pool?”
“A necklace??? I thought that was one of the missing items. Does it have *insert your star sign here* on it?” Kaito asks.
Himiko nods.
“Why and HOW do you know about her necklace, Kaito?” Korekiyo asks.
“Dude, she wears it almost every day. It has a star sign on it and me being the Luminary of the Stars, I had to ask her about it and what star sign it was. And plus I got it for her, I thought it would be something she’d like, it combines our favorite things. Me? Stars and Y/N? Necklaces.”
The Ultimate Anthropologist walks into the pool and grabs the necklace, which was like four feet deep.
“You walked into the pool?! JUST LIKE THAT???? Holy shit, dude. Mad respect.” Kaito responds.
Tumblr media
“But now your clothes are soaking wet and dripping water drops everywhere. Go change your clothes and come back here.” Kaede politely demands.
“I’ll be staying here, looking around for clues.” He responds.
Kaede shrugs and starts looking around with Shuichi. Korekiyo walks up to the arrows and notices something sparkly on the arrows. He then looks at the window and sighs. “Dear Y/N, who did this to you?” He hears his phone chime and looks at it. “Y/N??? How is she typing right now?”
‘Hi kiyo, at jabberwock island, hard to type with glass in my arms. I’ll be ok. Love u, they’re taking me to get the glass removed rn, hope to see u soon 🥰’
“GLASS?” Korekiyo exclaims.
“She fell from window, she bound to have glass in arm.” Gonta responds.
“Poor thing, she must be in pain right now. Glass in her arms, she’s bruised and bloody.” Tsumugi responds.
“I noticed that the arrows were sparkly. It’s odd, unless it was Himiko. I doubt it though.” Shuichi states.
Himiko sighs. “Nyeh… I was the one who accidentally hurt her. I was practicing my magic with arrows and she unfortunately went flying out of my window. With the arrows.”
“Himiko’s magic is real?! And she’s not just saying random shit???” Kaito asks.
Himiko doesn’t say anything and leaves the room with a deep and upset sigh.
✨time skip to a few days in the future✨
Kiyo sits on the floor and sighs, burying his face in his hands. Suddenly his phone starts playing a tune. “That’s my ringtone… Y/N?!” He quickly answers.
“Hey, I’m still in the hospital but I figured I’d give you a call in c-case you wanted to hear me s-speak. Damn these IVs are making me super sleepy… can you visit me? It’s… kinda lonely here…”
“On it, dear. See you in a little bit.”
Y/N giggles and says “alrighty” as she ends the call.
Kiyo makes it to the hospital, almost as if Himiko used her magic to get him there.
He finds his beloved, completely passed out from the medicine. “Hah, there she is. Safe. Okay. Thank the dog god.”
“I a-a-assume you’re the one that Y-Y-Y/N was talking about?” Mikan asks while walking up to him. Korekiyo nods. “W-We found a t-total of 53 shards in her a-arms. We got her wounds s-stitched up t-t-too. She will b-be o-o-okay soon.”
Haha iykyk the 53 joke
“I see… thank you.”
Mikan leaves and Korekiyo sits next to Y/N and holds her hand. “Y/N, we know who did this, Himiko did it. She confessed. I’m sure the others are justifiably mad at her. You’re going to be okay, I promise.” Korekiyo holds her hand.
✨time skip to a few days✨
Y/N walks through the hallways, relieved to see everyone, minus Kokichi and Himiko. She ignores them both.
“Hey, welcome back, Y/N!!! You good now? Here’s your necklace! Kiyo here found it and walked STRAIGHT into the water for it. It was super badass!” Kaito exclaims.

SUMMARY| After a long day at work you return home to a sight that reminds you how lucky you are to have kept fighting.
Adm Note: Kuina, my wife. <33
Tumblr media
Stress had your muscles tense under your skin, wanting to go home and lay in a hot bath until your fingers wrinkled, and sleep made you wish to turn into the bed with your wife cuddled into your chest.
After quietly shutting the front door you made your way into the living room only to stop in the doorway, your heart melting like a bath bomb in water.
In the living room your wife sat on the couch bouncing your two year old son on her leg, not biologically your son but he was your son none the less. He was constantly fighting with your wife as the main person in your heart.
Kuina looked up at the feeling of eyes on her, a grin breaking out on her face as she noticed your leaning figure in the doorway; you were perfection in her eyes, like you had been solely crafted by deities for her to worship with her whole being.
"Look Kaito, Mommy has returned home from work.” Kuina spoke in a whisper, like she was telling him some big secret to hide from you. But Kuina was right, you had returned home.
She made her way over to you and handed you Kaito, the curious baby who reached up to grab your hair; you had just gotten it cut a few days ago so it wasn’t as long as it used to be, but he loved playing with your hair just the same.
A smile crossed your lips as you gently bounced the babbling baby on your hip, leaning over to press a kiss of greeting to Kuinas lips. The taste of cherries danced along your tongue from the lip balm she had on her lips, it smudged the peppermint chapstick on your own lips.
Peppermint and Cherries had never tasted so heavenly together. Kuina let her arms slip under your shirt, wanting to feel your skin against hers, her hands pressing against your stomach playing with the metal wiring in your bra.
“I’ll always return home.” You spoke, barely broken away from the softness of her lips. “My home is wherever you are.”

“You really don’t have to do this,” Yuta said, staring at the envelope in your hands so intensely you wondered if he thought he could burn it with his glare.
“How am I supposed to reach grade one status if I never go on any supervised missions? It’ll be fine. I doubt the higher ups or Gojo would let me be with someone as dumb and useless as Naoya, and worst comes to worst, there’s always Tullia Ex Machina,” you said, referring to how Tullia had drank your poisoned blood so that you could survive the attack from the cursed spirit you and Naoya had had to fight during your last supervised mission.
“Don’t rely on that!” Yuta said.
“I was just kidding. But, really, I’m sure it’ll be fine,” you said, patting him on the shoulder and then tearing the envelope open. You were surprised that the mission directions had come by mail instead of digitally, as they usually did, but maybe whoever you were reporting to was old fashioned.
“Who’s taking you?” he said. You actually gagged aloud as you read over the letter.
“Fucking Principal Gakuganji!” you said. Yuta made a similar face to yours.
“I’m sorry to hear it,” he said. The principal of the Kyoto school was nothing like Principal Yaga; in fact, Principal Gakuganji had been one of the ones pushing the hardest for Yuta’s execution, back when he still had Rika. You knew him very well as the representation of everything you hated about jujutsu society and the higher ups, and as you were trying to break free from that whole scene, it was all in all not the greatest match up.
“Whatever, I guess I’ll just have to deal with it,” you said. “Would you say this is better or worse than Naoya?”
“Hm, probably better, if only because Gakuganji respects the hierarchies of jujutsu society at least a bit. He probably won’t let you get hurt, because the Kamos and your own family would be furious. Naoya’s a Zenin, so he was at least able to get away with a little bit due to his family’s protection, but Gakuganji can’t claim the same. That said, both are annoying. Why don’t they just let you go with Principal Yaga or Gojo?” Yuta said.
“I actually don’t know,” you said. “I mean, Nanami and Kaito aren’t allowed to supervise me because they’re the ones that gave my recommendation, but there’s no reason why Gojo or Principal Yaga couldn’t. Even Kusakabe, who’s now our direct teacher, can technically take me along with him if he wants. Those three just aren’t able to recommend me for promotion, but since I’ve already gotten the recommendation…”
“Weird,” Yuta said. “I can ask them about it while you’re gone.”
“I’d appreciate it if you would, thanks,” you said. “Knowing my luck, it’s probably some political nonsense blocking them.”
“When will those dumb old men leave you alone?” Yuta sighed.
“Probably never,” you said. “It’s sad, but as long as I have the capability to heal others, they won’t let me go. I’m too valuable to their cause, and because my family is so entrenched in their power structure, they think I’ll eventually fold and join them.”
Something uncomfortable arose on Yuta’s face. “By the way, speaking of such things…”
“Hm? Is something the matter?” you said. He began to fiddle with the two rings on his finger, a nervous habit he had picked up in recent times.
“Y/N,” he said, and then suddenly he was gripping your hand so tightly it was a wonder it did not break. “If I had to go somewhere far away, would you break up with me?”
“Huh? Why are you asking me that?” you said, taken aback. “That’s not really related to what we were talking about earlier at all.”
“Just answer. Please,” he said.
“No, I don’t think so. I mean, if you went somewhere far away and stopped talking to me entirely, I guess it would happen naturally…but I would miss you very dearly, and I would not find a new man until I knew for certain that you did not want me anymore,” you said.
“Oh,” he said. “That’s a relief.”
“Is there a reason you’re asking me that, or are we just at the point in our relationship that we ask each other weird questions? Because if so, I have to know: would you still love me if I was a worm?” you said.
“Obviously,” he said. “And no, it’s not hypothetical. Gojo wants to send me to Africa.”
You paused, tilting your head so that you could really look at him and discern whether he was telling the truth or not. His expression was carefully neutral, only barely hinting at the despair broiling beneath the surface, and he was such a bad liar that you knew this was not a falsehood.
“Africa’s a big continent,” you said. “Did he specify a country? At least a region?”
“No,” Yuta said.
“He wouldn’t,” you said with a sigh. “How long will you be gone?”
“I don’t know. I’m supposed to train with some sorcerer contact he has in the area, don’t ask me which area, I don’t know, and I guess it’s until that sorcerer thinks I’ve learned all I can from him,” he said.
“I see,” you said. “And you’re worried I’ll find someone new while you’re in some as-of-yet-unknown-African country?”
“A little bit,” he admitted.
“I wouldn’t do that to you,” you said with a frown.
“It’s not that I think you would, it’s just…I am afraid,” he said.
“You shouldn’t be,” you said. He gave you one of his looks, those wounded-deer ones that made you want to hold him tightly and tell him it would be alright, but since you had no idea when you would be interrupted by someone or another, you settled for squeezing his hand. “Really, Yuta, I’m being honest. I know you’re scared, but distance is the easiest opponent we’ve had to face by far. What is an ocean to Suguru Geto?”
He let out a surprised yet delighted laugh. “Well! I’d say it’s something.”
“But not more than we can face. We can video call every day, and you can tell me all about how much you’re learning and all of the sunshine you’re enjoying,” you said, using your other hand to poke him in the ribs. “You worry too much. It will be fun! Think of it positively.”
“What will you do while I’m away?” he said, though he was not nearly as morose anymore.
“I’ll train,” you said. “Exorcise curses. Spar with Maki. Complain about the higher ups. Get enough supervised missions in so that I can become an official grade 1 sorcerer.”
“Do you think I should go?” he said.
“Of course I think you should go. I will miss you, but you can’t pass up an opportunity like this,” you said. “Maybe I’ll be a grade 1 by the time we meet again!”
“I bet you will be,” he said. “You’re the coolest sorcerer ever.”
“Well, if that’s the case, then I probably shouldn’t keep Principal Gakuganji waiting for too long. There’s no sense in making him cranky — I doubt he’s pleased with my promotion as it is,” you said.
“Good luck,” he said, glancing at the door and then leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek. “Don’t let him bully you.”
“Of course not,” you said. “And you should get to packing. You don’t want to forget stuff, and I’m sure if you know about the trip, it means you have to go soon. Gojo…is not the type to give advance warning for just about anything.”
“You’re right,” Yuta said with a sour face. “See you later.”
“See you!” you said, humming to yourself as you headed towards the meet-up spot Principal Gakuganji had indicated in the letter. You still thought it was a little ridiculous that he insisted on communicating via letter for something so important, but you supposed it was just one of those idiosyncrasies that old people tended to have.
“Y/N L/N,” Principal Gakuganji said in that wheezing voice of his that you so detested. You fought back a frown, wishing that for once you could have someone supervising you that you actually liked, or at the least tolerated.
“Principal Gakuganji,” you said. He motioned for you to follow him, which you did your best to do without completely overtaking him. As expected, he moved at a sedate pace, and you had to purposefully shorten your stride so that he could keep up, which you would’ve rolled your eyes at if you hadn’t already made an enemy of your first supervisor.
“You’ve given that young man Naoya a lot of trouble,” he said.
“He’s the one who’s given me trouble!” you snapped. “I almost died because of him! I would’ve died, if it weren’t for Tullia. How can you say that I’m the troublesome one?”
“We both know he wouldn’t have let you actually die. Here you are, perfectly fine and going on your second mission, and his entire future’s been ruined. After all, he’s been suspended, and even once the suspension’s complete, it’ll take a while for him to regain people’s respect,” Principal Gakuganji said.
“He doesn’t deserve respect. He knowingly put a young sorcerer at risk, and for what? Personal amusement? He should be expelled from jujutsu society, if you ask me. Why is it that it would be a greater crime for me to cheat on Noritoshi than for Naoya to try and kill me?” you said as you entered the mission site and Principal Gakuganji put down a veil. It was a small school, reminiscent of the one where you had met Yuta, and the reminder only made you feel even more irritated with the principal and with the situation at large. How dare he demand that you feel sympathy for Naoya? It ought to be the other way around.
“You are weak,” Principal Gakuganji said. “You have relatively little to offer jujutsu society. That is to say, you are expendable — besides your massive aptitude for healing, which you refuse to tap into. It’s strange, you know, that you are so mediocre at fighting yet you insist on contributing in that way instead of giving in to your natural place in society. Then, to add insult to injury, you have taken one of the actually talented sorcerers out of commission in your desperate attempt to prove yourself. In truth, Miss L/N, I believe you should quit now before you get someone else killed. Maybe you don’t care about Naoya, or about me, but what about your precious friends? What if your incompetence leads to one of their deaths? That special-grade freak boy. The American girl. The panda or the Inumaki heir. What about Maki Zenin? If it was her who died, would you care?”
“Dissection,” you said coldly, hurling the needle towards Principal Gakuganji. His eyes widened, but it flew harmlessly above him and into the heart of the curse which had arisen behind him. The curse exploded, and the veil shattered as the being it had been made to contain was exorcised. “Principal Gakuganji, you should pay more attention to your surroundings. Have you been checked for dementia recently? Perhaps you should be. After all, anyone in their right mind would know that I was promoted for a reason.”
“Miss L/N!” Principal Gakuganji said. “You would do well to revere your elders.”
“And you would do well to know not to talk about them like that. I don’t want to hear it,” you said. “The next time you mention my friends — the next time you even dare to say Maki’s name — I will aim my needle a little lower, and I will not miss.” You turned to leave before pausing and looking back at him, bowing slightly. “Thank you for accompanying me on this mission. I am sure that my act of saving your life and exorcising the curse alone will be enough to earn your recommendation, and I look forward to serving alongside you as a grade one sorcerer one day.”
That summer was busy. Yuta left, but it was such a non-event that you almost did not comprehend it. You wanted to miss him, but you did not have the time to, not when the higher-ups were working you to the bone in an attempt to delay your promotion. The same was happening to Todo — you both were far too young to be traditionally considered Grade 1 sorcerers, so they were doing everything they could to stop you from advancing in the ranks before you promised to be compliant.
But compliance was not in Todo’s nature, and it was no longer the cloak you wished to don. Whether by luck or skill or particularly understanding mentors, you and Todo continued to grow closer and closer to that one final goal of yours, the one where you finally joined the upper echelons of jujutsu society. Recommendation after recommendation, they began to stack up, and it became something like a game for those inclined to betting. Who would be promoted first? You or him?
Maybe that was why you were called together to jujutsu headquarters, a joke by the higher ups, just another attempt in their long history at pissing sorcerers off. Or maybe it was like a kind of poetry, that you had been recommended together and thus would be promoted together. Either way, two weeks before the term began, you and Todo became official first grade sorcerers, making you the youngest in recent history.
“It seems our competition has come to a close,” Todo said as you walked together, you casually sipping on the drink he had bought for you.
“I guess that’s true,” you said.
“There’s no goal for us anymore. What do we do with ourselves? I don’t want our rivalry to end!” he said. You tossed your empty cup in the trash can and frowned when you saw he was furiously wiping away tears.
“Aw, Todo, there’s always goals. Just because we’re Grade 1 sorcerers doesn’t mean we’re at our peaks yet, which means we still have a long way to go before we can put our rivalry to rest,” you said. He burst into sobs, so you reached up and hugged him, patting his back.
“Y/N, I am so proud to — to call a woman like you my counterpart!” he wailed, picking you up and holding you tightly.
“I’m proud to call you my counterpart, too,” you said, unfortunately well-used to his antics by now and even more well-used to the strange looks you always garnered from passersby.
Todo was a little strange, but at the end of the day, he was the kind of person you knew you could rely on. You had learned very quickly that such people were few and far in between, and so you had resolved to cling on to him with all of your might. For his part, he was delighted to have someone who entertained his antics, so he was fiercely loyal to you, and his affection was only outweighed by his zeal in trying to defeat you.
“How has Okkotsu been, anyways?” he said. You smiled slightly.
“He’s been very good,” you said. Todo elbowed you in the side; coming from him, it all but bowled you over, or at least it would’ve if you hadn’t expected it and braced yourself for the impact.
“He’ll be back to compete in the exchange event, won’t he? I need to redeem myself for last year,” he said.
“You don’t want to redeem yourself for your loss against me?” you said. He grinned.
“Of course I’ll do that as well, but since you’re my rival, it only makes sense that you’ll beat me every now and then. There’s no shame in losing to you,” he said.
“There’s not really any shame in losing to Yuta, either, I mean he is a special grade sorcerer,” you said. Todo shook his head.
“That’s exactly it. If I can defeat him, then I will truly have proven myself in a way that no one can argue with,” he said.
“I think you’re out of luck, unfortunately,” you said. “He’s not going to be back for a while, I’m afraid.”
“Make him return. Use your special love powers or something to bring him back!” Todo said. You gave him a dull look and wished Yuta had never named you as his type of woman back during the last exchange event. Recently, Todo had figured out that it was not just that you were Yuta’s type but that you were actually together, and ever since then, he had been relentless in teasing you about it.
“I don’t have special love powers, so you’re just going to have to be content with fighting me and the rest of the first and second years,” you said.
“Not even the third years?” Todo said, aghast. You shook your head.
“Nope, they were all suspended, remember? I have no idea what they’re up to now, but whatever it is, they won’t be at the event,” you said. “That’s why we’re going to have to drag the first years into it. Whoever they are.”
“You’re going to be at such a disadvantage,” Todo said with a disapproving scowl. “Fighting with people you barely know! Normally, you get at least a year to become acquainted with your classmates and team members, so you understand their strengths and weaknesses intimately, but this year, you’ll be fighting with first years! Not only will you not know their skills, they themselves won’t!”
“It worked well enough for Yuta and I last year,” you said. “Don’t forget that a couple of first years beat you back then.”
“Yeah, true,” Todo said, and then he waggled his eyebrows suggestively. “But I’m sure the two of you knew each other more than intimately by that point.”
“Shut up,” you muttered, smacking his bicep, which had all the effect of slapping a rock wall in that it probably hurt you more than it hurt him. “That’s not true. We were just the better team then, and we’ll be the better team again this year. Even without Yuta, you all are going to have to contend with Maki.”
“Maki Zenin?” Todo said. “I’m told she’s a weakling.”
“Whoever told you that was wrong,” you said, though without the typical anger you felt when people spoke about Maki in that way. Todo was, if anything, a fair man, and you knew he wouldn’t make such assumptions about Maki if he actually knew her. He could only parrot what he had heard until this point, and it wasn’t his fault that the only people in Kyoto who knew about her hated her.
“I’ll take your word for it,” he said. “And I will be prepared to fight this woman that you think so highly of.”
“As if you’ll get a chance,” you said with a grin. “Remember, I’ll be there, too. Who cares about the rest of the participants? They’ll duke it out as they do every year. The fight to watch, the fight that’ll determine the match — that’ll be ours.”
Todo nodded. “True. It’s been far too long since we’ve faced off. The thought of our next battle will carry me through the days until we meet again.”
“We can still meet, idiot,” you said, rolling your eyes affectionately. “I expect you to visit when you can and buy me dinner.”
“My, my,” Todo said. “Demanding!”
“It’s the price you pay for having lost to me at the exchange event. If you win the next one, I’ll pay for you for the rest of the year,” you said, offering him your hand. He took it and shook it firmly.
“Very well! And if you win again, things will continue as they have?” he said, referring to your habit of making him buy you something every time the two of you hung out.
“It sounds like a deal to me,” you said.
“Then to me as well,” he said.
“Since we just made that deal, I would like for you to know that I’m hungry,” you said.
“I just bought you a drink!” Todo said. You batted your eyelashes.
“It’s the price which a loser must pay,” you said.
“Fine,” he grumbled out. “But only because I’m hungry, too.”
“Yay!” you cheered.
“I’m going to drain your bank account once you lose the next event, by the way!”
“As if I’d ever lose to you!”
Returning to the school after the summer break was more like coming home than leaving it in the first place had ever been. The instant you saw your room, still exactly the same as it had been when you had last shut the door on it, you almost burst into tears. Tossing the curtains open, you closed your eyes, allowing the sunshine to warm your skin, the pleasant scent of the candles you always lit filling your nose again for the first time in a while.
“Someone’s happy to be back,” a familiar voice said. You opened your eyes and spun on your heel, beaming when you saw who it was.
“Tullia!” you said, racing over and throwing your arms around her, an embrace which she reciprocated just as tightly. Shortly after the entire debacle with Naoya and Elakshi, Tullia had gone back to America to spend time with her family. She had only flown back into Tokyo yesterday, so this was your first time seeing her since her departure, and a knot in your stomach that you had not even known existed unraveled at the reunion.
“Hey, Y/N,” she said. “I saw you walk into your room, but I wanted to give you a minute to settle in before I stopped by. Maki and the others just went to eat, but I told them I’d wait for you.”
“Thanks,” you said. “Should we go meet up with them, then?”
“Sounds good to me,” she said.
“So, how was your summer, Miss Beach Body?” you said. She grinned, subconsciously running a hand through hair highlighted by the sun’s rays and the salt of the ocean.
“It was great,” she said. “I just spent the entire time relaxing. You’d be jealous of the amount of books I read while lying in the sand.”
“I’m quite sure I would be,” you said with a frown, thinking back to the utter lack of relaxation you had had this summer before internally shrugging. Next summer, you would take time off for sure. And by then Yuta would be back — maybe you both could go on a vacation together.
“At least you’re finally a grade 1 sorcerer!” she said. “That’s so official sounding. I can’t believe one of my best friends is a grade 1 sorcerer.”
“And one of the others is a semi-grade 1,” you said. Tullia’s face lit up.
“Toge! I forgot about that! I’ll have to congratulate him on the promotion,” she said. “That’s so awesome. Maybe he’ll be official, soon, too.”
“It’s likely,” you said. “He’s a really talented sorcerer.”
The corners of her lips curved up slightly as she stared at the ground. “He is, isn’t he?”
“You aren’t far behind,” you said, making a mental note of the development. “As long as you perform as well at the next exchange event as you did last Christmas, you’ll definitely get enough recommendations to be promoted.”
“You can count on it,” she said, clenching her fist. “You know, I talked a lot with my parents while I was at home. I was so hurt when they made me come here, but now — now I understand why they did it. I’m not so angry at them anymore. I just want to make them proud, and if becoming a first grade sorcerer is how I can prove that I’m not a waste, then that’s what I’ll do.”
“You’re not a waste either way,” you said, wondering how productive her conversation with her parents had actually been, based on what she was saying, “But I’ll support you in whatever you do.”
“Thanks, Y/N,” she said. You paused as you reached the wing of the school where the teachers’ offices were, and then you turned to Tullia.
“Do you mind if I duck in here really quickly?” you said. She let out a laugh, likely knowing exactly what your business was in the part of the school that you rarely visited.
“Not at all. Do you want me to wait?” she said. You shook your head.
“No, go ahead without me,” you said. “You have someone to congratulate, after all.”
Her cheeks turned pink, and she opened her mouth to protest before shutting it again and nodding firmly, giving you a thumbs up.
“I’ll do that,” she said.
“See you soon!” you said, waving at her before turning and heading in the opposite direction, first walking and then running towards the office you knew would have its door slightly ajar, music wafting into the hallway as its owner worked — maybe it would be Taylor Swift, he had really been getting into her the last you had heard.
“You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirt! And I got that — Y/N?” Gojo stopped singing and yelped in surprise when you burst into his office, his stack of papers falling to the ground and fluttering about everywhere. You took no heed of them, leaping over the ones that seemed particularly important and crashing into him in excitement.
“Gojo!” you said. “I’m a grade 1 sorcerer now!”
“Yes, you are!” he said, ruffling your hair as you leaned against his chest, cognizant of the fact that he had turned his Infinity off at the last moment to catch you and feeling a burst of affection towards him for the fact. “However, you know I knew that already, right?”
“But this is the first time I’ve gotten to see you in person since it happened,” you explained. “I wanted to tell you myself.”
“Of course,” he said. “I’m very proud of you.”
It was nice to hear that from him. Even though Gojo wasn’t directly your teacher anymore, he was still the man who had helped you become a sorcerer, the one who had rescued you from your destiny as nothing more than Noritoshi’s wife. He was like your older brother, so for him to say that he was proud of you made you feel uncharacteristically pleased.
“It’s been so long since I've seen you last,” you said. “I wish the higher ups wouldn’t always send you and Yuta away so far. It doesn’t seem fair.”
“That’s what happens when you’re the strongest,” he said with a long-suffering sigh, stooping over to gather up the papers he had dropped and pressing the pause button on his phone. “Have the two of you stayed in touch?”
“Yes, naturally,” you said, sitting down in the extra seat across from him. “We talk on the phone almost every day. But it’s not the same. I miss him. It’s nice to be seeing everyone else again, but it also feels wrong, because he should be here too.”
“You’ll get to see him again soon,” Gojo assured him. “He’s not in Africa forever.”
“Speaking of,” you said with a frown. “You know Africa isn’t a monolith, right? There’s, like, so many countries and regions in the continent. Do you even know which one he’s in?”
“Obviously I do. Miguel told me to be as vague as possible when referring to his location, though, to avoid leading curse users to his village,” he said. “That’s why I just say he’s in Africa.”
“Oh, that…actually makes sense,” you allowed. You supposed even Gojo had his intelligent and considerate moments every now and then.
“Thank you,” he said dryly, obviously not at all grateful for your lack of faith in him. Despite this, he slid a cup of tea across his desk, nodding at it before settling back in his own chair, pushing his papers neatly aside and resting his chin in his hands. You picked it up and blew on the surface, the steam billowing away from you until the tea was cool enough for you to take a sip.
“It’s good,” you said when it was obvious that he was waiting for your approval. He smiled slightly.
“That’s good,” he said. “How have you been, Y/N?”
“I've been well enough,” you said. He hummed in thought.
“I’m glad to hear it,” he said. “Still friends with Maki?”
“Maki? Of course I am,” you said. “I’ll always be friends with her.”
He swallowed. “I hope that’s the case.”
“Do you think we won’t be?” you said, put out by his response. To your further chagrin, he did not correct you immediately, mulling your question over for a moment.
“The future is unpredictable,” he said. “That said, I think it will take a lot for the two of you to break apart. I don’t see it happening anytime soon.”
“It won’t happen at all,” you said stubbornly. “Yuta and Maki and Tullia and Toge and Panda and I are going to be friends for the rest of our lives.”
“You’re right,” he said, and then he exhaled heavily. “Ignore me. Sometimes I say things without really meaning them. This is one of those times; I’m just reminiscing, that's all.”
“Alright,” you said. Then, tentatively, you set down your cup and reached out your hands so that you could place them atop his own, half-thinking that he’d keep his Infinity on and you’d be stopped in the process. But he did not. “You always turn your Infinity off for me, don’t you? Why is that?”
“I don’t see you as a threat,” he said. “Maybe it’s not that I turn it off for you but that I turn it on for everything else.”
“I see,” you said. A moment passed before you spoke again. “Do you miss —?”
“No,” he said instantly. “That’s a foolish thing to think, much less say aloud. Why would I?”
“He was your best friend,” you said. “Principal Yaga mentioned it during one of the missions he supervised me on. It’s not foolish to believe you’d miss him. If I lost Maki like that, I’d still miss her.”
“I’m fine,” Gojo said, and then he pulled his hands away from you and stood up. “Enough talking about me. There’s someone I’d like for you to meet.”
“Really?” you said, mirroring his actions and following him out the door. “Who?”
His expression morphed into a devilish grin. “The boy I’ve been telling you about since the day I met you, of course!”
“Oh no,” you said, dread creeping up your spine. “Don’t tell me you’re taking me to meet who I think you’re taking me to meet!”
“I think I am taking you to meet who you think I’m taking you to meet!” he said cheerfully. “That’s right, after all of this time, I’m finally introducing you to Megumi Fushiguro!”

“…Why do you constantly give him your Monocoins?” Shuichi asked you with a brow raised as he watched as Kokichi excitedly run down the hall, going to the vending machine.
“Because he wants to buy his favorite drink from the vending machine.” You said as you put your hands behind your back.
“I see..but he does it everyday. Don’t you get tired of it?” You thought for a moment before shaking your head no. “I don’t get tired of it, it makes me happy to see him happy.” You said with a small smile.
But yet…you haven’t realized that Kokichi tells you and asks you for more things more than he’s ever done to anyone!
“Y/n, can I have…5 coins?” Kokichi asked you.
“Why do you need 5 coins?” You asked as you pulled out five monocoins from your pocket.
“I wanna use the mono machine.”
“Okay. Have fun!” You said as you handed him the five coins and waved at him as he ran away.
“N/N!!!! KAITO IS BEING MEAN TOO MEAN!!!” Kokichi sobbed as he hugged you tightly, sobbing into your neck as he clung onto you. You looked over at Kaito with eyebrows in confusion. You already knew that Kokichi was lying, he’s always the one starting stuff…
“Kaito! How could you do such a thing!?” You said as you winked at him to just follow along. He immediately caught on.
“B-But Kokichi was the one who started it!” Kaito said back, furrowing his brows as he pointed a finger at you.
“Nonsense! Kokichi would never! If I see you or hear you being mean to him i’ll drag you!” You threatened. Kaito scoffed and walked away, he was snickering to himself at that, finding it funny.
“Your okay now, Kokichi…nobody won’t be mean to you no more.” You said softly as you wiped kokichi’s “tears” away. “Yaaay! Your my savior Y/n!” Kokichi cheered.
“Y/n, can we share the Panta? There wasn’t any in the vending machine…” Kokichi asked. “Aww, im sorry there wasn’t anymore. Here, you can have it.” You said as you handed him the Panta. Kokichi jumped around happily.
Did you really spoil him too much?
“…Now that you say something…you’re right.” You said with a nod. “But it makes me happy when he’s happy so I never cared. Besides, I don’t even use my monocoins.” You said with a shrug.
Shuichi sighed to himself.
“Yeah…I see…”

Ruikasa posting that got away from me (again). You guys can’t be mean to me pandemonium is on engsekai in like five days. don’t blame me blame colopale.
Ruikasa is very interesting for me 2 think abt wrt rui and his hang ups bc Rui is very single-minded in going after what interests him - he taught himself robotics/engineering/a million other things, he pursued directing on his own, he would rather stick to his own paths and do what he wants to do instead of do what would make him more palatable to his peers
Rui: I wouldn't be expending my energy on something I don't intend on doing.
Tsukasa: Yes. That's the kind of person you are. You wouldn't be doing something if you didn't really want to...
Rui: right?
(Wonder Halloween)
Tumblr media
(Area dialogue)
I don’t feel like hunting down every instance of kids around him going “we don’t want to play with you because it’s dangerous/we think you’re weird” I think I’ve done that enough times. But my point with those instances is that he valued what he loved over attempting to become someone who would fit in.
Desiring to connect with a person beyond the level of just friendship/wanting to know way more about someone is different than studying & learning a subject though, bc it’s
1) typically a two way street in that it’s reliant on the other person to want to share things and want to connect with you in return
2) also reliant on you not fucking up the relationship, which is pretty easy to do if you come out guns blazing like “hey you fascinate me & I want to know what makes you tick. And also everything else about you.”
Both points being something rui has zero experience with. Which is also why I think he opted to ask other people about tsukasa instead of talking to him directly.
Tumblr media
(Kaito initial 2*)
Tumblr media
(Area conversation)
He’s still very curious about Whatever The Fuck is up with tsukasa tenma but he’s obviously pursuing knowledge a little less intensely/overtly than he does for other stuff
(After talking about movie directing techniques) Director Ohara: … Well, that might not be useful to you as someone who’s aiming to become a stage director.
Rui: …No.
Rui: I’d rather be taught more specific techniques.
Director Ohara: …Huh?
Rui: What I want to create is a show that everyone can enjoy regardless of any limits.
Rui: In order to make that dream come true, I want to learn about direction in all kinds of media.
Director Ohara: …Oh?
Rui: That’s why I want to absorb any ideas and ways of thinking from any field.
Rui: All of the methods you know — please teach them to me.
(Backlight lens flare - TL haruka’s penguin)
All of that to say Rui is very clearly interested in learning more about Tsukasa, but also (imo) very wary of overstepping any social boundaries that would damage their current relationship.
He mentions that he tended to rely on shows to connect to other people around him in Pandemonium -
Rui: I had always thought that I could never properly understand everyone around me.
Rui: As I started doing shows at Wonder Stage with everyone, my way of thinking and feelings began to change.
Rui: Now, I am able to understand and connect with someone without relying on shows, and I’ve come to value the beauty of laughing alongside others.
Rui: that’s why — tsukasa-kun. Thank you for giving me the chance to change.
(Pandemonium - TL tsukasa’s #3 fan)
- which is also the event where he & tsukasa connect more *outside* of shows, and the event that both he and tsukasa acknowledge as an event that made them grow a lot closer. (more recent connect live, wrt them talking abt performing fixer, iirc. I hate to “source: trust me” but we’ve reached my limit for hunting down sources & it’s finding a tweet from forever ago where someone translated what they were talking about)
Anyways. Sorry. I just love that quote & what it says about Rui. I’ll spare you the “directing as a one way street/settling for the closest thing to a connection/laughing *alongside* others instead of providing a show for the audience to laugh at (ensekai if you change that specific sentiment I’ll be so mad)” thoughts. Back to the original point.
It’s interesting to think about how rui’s hang ups wrt friendships and his very intense curiosity/very determined pursuit of knowledge on the subjects that interest him intersect. Like. Before this point, whenever he was interested in something he could just go online and read everything he needed to know and satisfy his curiosity to his heart’s content.
Having to both navigate something completely foreign and pump the brakes on obsessively learning everything he can would be a novel experience for Rui. To say the least. “If I pursue this with as much intensity as I do with any other endeavor I am going to fuck something up (he is suffering)” kind of situation.
Being interested in a *person* is so much different & so much trickier and scarier to navigate. Especially with how much Rui values his relationship to Tsukasa as someone Who Matches His Freak.
and with Rui’s whole “I should be satisfied with what I have and if I’m not then it’s because I’m greedy/selfish” :
Rui: (… Geez, I really lack a backbone. When will the time come when I find myself satisfied with the way things are?)
(…)
Rui: (While working to make my dream come true, together with everyone, I will make their dreams come true. A way to do that — let me think of one.)
Rui: (fufu, how greedy of me.)
(Curtain call - TL Arven Oven & tsukasa’s #3 fan)
(Talking abt wanting to keep doing shows with wxs and his actions in OHE) Rui: Now that I think about it, I’ve been pretty selfish.
(World link - TL haruka’s penguin)
I think Rui’s approach to it would be very “I’m asking for more when I already have a great friendship I’m The Most Selfish Person Alive & must never say anything” which, tbf, would be his reaction wrt having feelings for literally anyone, not just tsukasa. However. Since this is a ruikasa post. unfortunately. I will say that what would be exclusive to Tsukasa is “he’s already given me so much and I still want more… I’m The Most Selfish Person Alive & must never say anything.” Rui is dramatic like that.

we know what time it is by now!
impermanent attachment quote log!
I hope everyone knows these are just things I copied for whatever reason, either funny moving sad idk
“I… might be?” Shuichi shrugged helplessly, letting his shoulders slump in defeat.
“It doesn’t make sense, though. Time loops cannot exist in real life.”
“That’s what every protagonist of a time loop says at first,” Tsumugi informed him sympathetically.
Everything was okay, and his spirits weren’t entirely crushed; only mostly.
“I… might be?” Shuichi shrugged helplessly, letting his shoulders slump in defeat. “It doesn’t make sense, though. Time loops cannot exist in real life.”“That’s what every protagonist of a time loop says at first,” Tsumugi informed him sympathetically.
Everything was okay, and his spirits weren’t entirely crushed; only mostly.
Kaito’s voice drew Shuichi back into reality, and he remembered that oh yeah, this conversation was important.
Kokichi, somebody who had intrigued him for the entire killing game, wasn’t the evil, despicable person he tried to make himself out to be
“Do you want to die?” Shuichi snapped at the boy behind him, lowering his voice to not be heard by his friends. “Knock it off, Kokichi.”
“Shuichi,” Kokichi said sweetly, slowly turning to face him. There was a pleasant smile on his face, but his words were anything but. “I am really, really mad at you right now.”You know what? Screw maintaining his composure.
“Kill me?” Kokichi echoed. “My dear Shuichi… was planning to kill me? Why is the entire Kaito Fanclub after me– what are you doing?”
Shuichi woke up feeling less rested than before. Also, he immediately threw up.
Ch4 oh when I get you ch4. /t
Kokichi was torn between figuring that oh, so he’s totally lost it and wondering what on earth happened to his favorite person in this academy.
“I’d like to see you get shot in the fucking arm!” Kaito barked at him, providing the exact opposite argument Kokichi was trying to make.
“Hey! You got shot and I got shot by your dogs. We’re matching now!” Kokichi exclaimed simply to be obnoxious. He had to cope in some way.
“But I can’t reach the one on my back,” Kokichi whined. “Unless you want me to break my arms trying to reach it?”“I’ll remove it if it’ll shut you up,” Maki offered upon her return.“You’d probably stab me in the throat or something,” Kokichi scoffed haughtily, briefly allowing his resentment towards her to shine through.
Not sure what that “time loop” business is about, though. Is Shuichi mentally ill?
“I’m building bonds by being loveable, Kaito,” Kokichi whispered back. “I’m reverse Stockholming him, so give me a bit, will ya?”
Kaito looked genuinely baffled. “He didn’t kidnap you! And I don’t think Stockholm Syndrome works like that.”“Well what do you want me to call it? Seduction?” he challenged simply to see the look on Kaito’s face. As a fun bonus, Maki’s, too. And the way Shuichi was staring at him was pretty funny, too.
“I thought it was weird when you said that,” Maki agreed simply. “But I didn’t bring it up because I thought you were delusional.”Okay, a little blunt there, but Maki wasn’t one to beat around the bush. Shuichi seemed to think this too, because although he looked wounded by her remark, he didn’t totally break down over it.
Letting him just talk about it was the best solution Kokichi could think of. Keeping everything bottled up inside wasn’t healthy (and he did not want to hear a WORD about his own habits, thank you), especially not for someone as, in the nicest way possible, sensitive as Shuichi.
But over and over again… because Maki poisoned her… her stupid arrows… Strike-9 fucking hurts, okay? It feels like your entire body hates you.
That was going to be so embarrassing to share– Kokichi Ouma! Held at gunpoint! Ugh. There might not be much damage control he could do for this one.
Kokichi automatically cringed. “She is not my beloved Junko. I would never call any woman my beloved. Also, sorry, the name doesn’t really ring a bell.”
And no, the small, reassured smile Shuichi gave him in response to this small gesture did not make his heart flutter like a stupid moth. Not the time, MOTH.
“You’re quick to trust me,” Kokichi teased.“I don’t trust you as far as I can throw you,” Kaito corrected him, looking alarmed by the mere notion. “You’re still an annoying piece of shit, and you’re still responsible for Miu and Gonta. But I don’t want to fight you if it means somebody’s gonna die.”“I’ll try to refrain from strangling you,” Maki added graciously. “At least, not until I know if you’re really the mastermind or not.”
“Well, now I just plainly feel bad…”“You would feel bad, huh?”“Wh-What does that mean?”“Ignore him. Kokichi’s just being an asshole because he knows no one is going to punch him.”
Kaito was surprised because, you know, Exisal. Kokichi was surprised because he couldn’t figure out where the fuck that thing had come from.
Kokichi was very prideful, but that wouldn’t stop him from admitting that dealing with the certified “training trio” or whatever they had going on in their stupid three-way make-out dynamic.
“Just do it!” Kaito unexpectedly shouted at him from the open doorway. “I don’t care if you’re the mastermind or not, you can’t let Shuichi kill himself. Block the damn door!”
There was no way this thing wasn’t drugged. The worst part was that he couldn’t tell if Shuichi was trying to be sneaky about it or not.
Yes, what a wonderful idea it was to antagonize the mentally unstable guy waving around a loaded firearm. What a stroke of genius on Kokichi’s part.
Oh… is that what we’re doing?” Kokichi chuckled, hoping his laughter hid how truly nervous he felt, gazing at the handcuffs. “Am I being arrested? Aww… I was hoping you’d at least take me to dinner, first…”
Third?” Kokichi gasped melodramatically. “I’m not even first? Wow, Shuichi… I thought what we had was special…”
Kokichi tried not to cringe as it carelessly clattered on the ground. She could at least try to respect one of Miu’s inventions, even if the girl herself had done little to deserve it.
He wanted Tsumugi in the ground.
Hell, he had two Electrobombs hidden in his scarf as well. Maybe he should get a sparkly purse or something– he can make it checker themed.
Fuck, fuck, fuck–
Despite how dizzy he felt, he slapped away K1-B0’s hand– or at least tried to. His aim was a tiny bit sloppy. It had its intended effect though, because K1-B0 released him.“Kokichi, are you okay?” Tsumugi asked him anxiously. “You look plainly concussed…”
“What Kokichi are you talking about?” Kokichi demanded with a glare at the robot. “What gave you the impression I cared at all?”“You…” K1-B0 helplessly trailed off, seeming to realize there was no point in arguing. “You are very confusing to me.”
“Work together with the mastermind?” Kokichi couldn’t help but scoff. “Were you dropped on your head as a baby?”
He was laying his soul bare in this thing, which meant that should anyone see this, they would know him better than he knew himself.
Yes!” he blurted out eagerly. He didn’t mean to interrupt them, but… Kokichi. “Yes, I’ll help!”
And wouldn’t you know it, Kokichi punched him in the face.
Usually that would have put off Shuichi– eyes were something he still struggled with, and people like Kokichi and Maki’s eyes– so secretive and cold– were hard to look at sometimes.
But even if his body was weak, Kaito sure wasn’t going to let that stop him. Oh no. That was like trying to stop an airplane going with your bare hands.
“Cats, Shuichi, same thing,” Kokichi waved him off. “He’s obviously three cats in a trench coat! That’s why he’s wearing that thing!”
“What? Are you enamored, Kaito? Have you fallen head over heels for me?” Kokichi immediately started teasing him. “Sooorry, my heart belongs to someone else.”
“Ew…” Kokichi cringed. “Everybody say thank you Shuichi for taking one for the team and not putting us through that! ♪”
“I remember biting someone,” Kokichi offered gleefully.“Of course you do,” Maki muttered disbelievingly.
“I’ll forgive you ‘cause the mental image of you with a gun is hilarious,” Kokichi cut in, his hands placed idly behind his head.
She was still glaring at Kokichi as if he dropped babies on their heads for fun, but it seemed like her dislike for him was outweighed by Kaito’s cheerful and powerful charm.
To be hugged by Kaede– oh, she was so warm.
“Hey, good on you, man!” Kaito praised him. “And if you try any more messed up things like that, we’ll whack you back into reality.”
“Fuck you mean, not holding any grudges!? Hell yeah I’m holding a grudge!” Miu barked, swiveling her glare towards Kokichi and Gonta. “What the hell was that supposed to be you shota cunt!?”
“You’re lucky my legs don’t work,” Miu seethed. “I’d come over there and shove my fist so far down your throat you’d be coughing up keratin for the rest of your life!”“Your fist probably tastes like cum and oil, because being a filthy whore and making things is all you seem to be good for,” Kokichi shot back defensively.
Shuichi stormed into the hangar, and guess what? He held us all at gunpoint!”Nearby, Kiyo choked on his drink.
“You know what? I’ll just ask him myself,” Kaede decided. “Honestly, Kokichi. You make everything so confusing all the time.”Kokichi only offered her a grin. “I know.”
“I’m expressing my artistic side in this notebook Ms. Mister Therapist gave me,” Kokichi told him cheerfully. “I’m what they call a flight risk in the industry.”
“Well, everything that comes out of your mouth tends to be pretty angering,” Rantaro pointed out coolly. “You’re pretty fond of provoking people, and with this kind of news, we need the opposite of that.”
“...noooo but also oh yeahhh whoopee. Joy. Right, Shuichi? Shu? Shui?” That boy sighed. “Man, you make a cool nickname for me or whatever but I can’t think of anything. What would I have said? Maybe… Shu? Shuchuu train? How’s that?”
how about I start fusing our names? How does Shukichi sound? Saiouma? Wait, that’d probably go to our child, nevermind…”
“Kaede’s going to freak, by the way,” Kokichi informed him, as if what just happened was totally normal and casual. “And Kaito owes her twenty bucks now. Hey, can we make out in front of him?”
“The first thing I did when you woke up was confess my love to you. I just kissed you and you’re asking me that? Do I need to propose to you, too? Yes, we can be boyfriends, Shuichi. You don’t even have to fight my seven evil exes!”
tipped you over the edge but everything else adds up. Dealing with that can't be easy, especially if no one remembers and especially if k*ito keeps saying dumb shit all the time. My degree in psychology and 42 years on the field tells me that this is baaad bad. (The censor made le laugh way toi hard)
And everyone who wasn't alive for the crap i pulled still doesn't like me anyway either because i'm an asshole or because everyone elses behavior is putting them off.
maki and kaito are really worried, so you should talk to them. also kokichi i guess. kaede says he's in love with you. if love is what stops you from killing yourself then you guys should smooch. that’s just what i think though.
miu- don't kill yourself again dipshit
Also please tell me if Kaede is right or not. I don't have 20 bucks to give her if she is, and you can do way better than Kokichi. Please anyone but Kokichi.
“HEY! You can’t kiss my sidekicks!”“What?” Maki demanded.“No, but I can kiss my boyfriendddd,” Kokichi sang triumphantly.“BOYFRIEND!?”

Crimson Petals
written by @dior-elkie and @kiremrem
Heiji Hattori and Shinichi Kudo were inseparable best friends. They shared everything—adventures, mysteries, and a passion for solving crimes that brought them closer each day. But little did Heiji know that his heart harboured feelings for Shinichi that he couldn't bear to confront.
Despite their strong bond, Heiji sensed something unspoken between Shinichi and the phantom thief, Kaito Kid. Their interactions were filled with hidden glances and unspoken words that only he seemed to notice. As days passed, his unrequited love for Shinichi deepened, becoming a weight he found difficult to bear.
He tried to distance himself, thinking it would ease the pain in his heart. But the more he pulled himself apart, the stronger his feelings tugged at him. No matter how hard he tried to ignore it, his emotions just wouldn't cooperate. He hoped some distance might lessen the intensity, yet it only seemed to light the fire within him but he couldn't shake off those growing feelings, no matter how much he wished otherwise.
One afternoon, while he was solving a murder case in his home, he took a quick break from thinking. He couldn't quite understand this case.
"If only Kudo was here," Hattori said to, particularly, no one.
Just as he took a deep breath, a sudden fit of coughing seized him. He doubled over, a handkerchief pressed against his lips as he coughed up small, crimson petals. Panic surged through him, a mixture of confusion and fear gripping his heart.
Gasping for air, Heiji staggered backward, his mind racing to comprehend what was happening. The pain in his chest intensified with each cough, the sensation was like sharp thorns digging into his lungs.
“What.. What is this?..” He managed to say.
He struggled to reach his computer, then opened it to search for information on whatever this was.
He finally found it and when he read through it, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Is this for real?..”
The search results showed that what was happening to him is called the ‘Hanahaki Disease’. This is a disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided attraction. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings and their memories of that specific person / people also disappear.
“Then is there a meaning to those flowers too?” He seriously asked himself. He gathered all the petals and deduced that there were only four types of flowers.
“I have to figure out the names of these flowers first..” He stood up and changed his clothes. He hurriedly went to a flower shop.
“Hello, welcome to Hanafuku ! How may I help you?” The florist approached Heiji who was panting.
Hanafuku is an actual flower shop in Osaka
When he stopped panting, he opened his left hand to show the lady the petals.
“I want to know what flowers these are.”
The lady was surprised at this request but immediately regained her composure. “Follow me please.” She led him to the cashier and asked him to put the petals on her hand and so he did.
“Please wait one moment. If you want, you can sit over there.” The lady politely points at the couch near the shop’s entrance.
“Alright. Thank you, ma’am.” He bowed to the florist, then walked over to the couch and sat down.
A few minutes later he was called. He immediately walked up to the cashier.
"Sir, these flowers—Aster, Chrysanthemum, Daisy, and Camellia—are their names," she said, pointing to each one as she mentioned it. “Do you want me to tell you what each of them means?”
“Yes, please.”
“Aster represents love and daintiness, while Pink Camellia expresses a longing for someone. Daisy symbolizes innocence and loyal love, often paired with a sense of secrecy or it’s like saying *I’ll never tell*. Red Chrysanthemum conveys a direct message of I love you. Despite their unique meanings, all these flowers signify emotions associated with love, affection, and sometimes longing or desire.”
The man listened intently, absorbing the significance behind each flower. As the florist finished her explanation, he nodded, appreciating the depth of meaning woven into the blooms he had coughed up.
“Thank you for sharing that.” He said with a gentle smile, “Those meanings are truly beautiful.” He reached into his pocket and handed her some money.
“Don’t worry, sir. I won’t be needing that.” The lady said as she refused to receive the money from Heiji.
“Why? You should take this because you took your time in figuring out what kind of flowers they are and what their meaning is. I should definitely pay you with something.”
“Since you insist so much, good sir. How about this? If you can survive that disease, come back here. This is how you can pay me.”
Heiji was surprised by what she said. “Wait, how did you know I have a disease?”
“Anyone who enters while clutching petals is usually suffering from the so-called Hanahaki Disease. I’ve grown quite accustomed to this scenario. So to pay me, you just have to come here after you get cured of this disease.”
"Alright, thank you," he said, bowing as he headed to the door. Before he could leave, he heard the lady say, "Please, come back again."
As weeks passed, Heiji's condition deteriorated, marked by frequent coughing fits, letting out petals with blood. Despite the pain, he hid his suffering, pushing harder in investigations with Shinichi and sometimes Hakuba, masking the turmoil within. His forced smiles and strained laughter concealed the unspoken anguish.
Shinichi remained oblivious to Heiji's declining health, engrossed in cases. Heiji concealed his coughing fits, seeking solitude when the pain became unbearable. Tears mixed with the petals stained his hands, his unconfessed love causing unbearable agony.
In silence, Heiji endured, unwilling to disrupt their friendship. Despite his efforts, traces of blood on his handkerchief and weakening health revealed his struggle. He carried the burden alone, torn between confessing and preserving their bond, the blossoming flowers threatening to overwhelm him.
One day, Kazuha, Hattori’s childhood best friend, went to his house to visit him. She had been so worried because he hadn’t been answering their texts and calls. It seemed to her that he was distancing himself.
She heard a very painful cough and hurried to the source of the sound.
"Heiji, what's wrong?" Kazuha's voice trembled with concern as he rushed over to help him.
"It's nothing, Kazuha, just a cough," Heiji attempted to brush it off, but the petals gave away the severity of his condition.
"Don't lie to me, Heiji. I know something's not right," Kazuha insisted, her eyes filling with worry.
Taking a deep breath, Heiji confessed, "I have the hanahaki disease. I have feelings for someone, but it's unrequited."
Kazuha's heart sank. "Have you told them?"
Heiji shook his head, "I can't. They love someone else."
Tears filled Kazuha's eyes as she embraced Heiji tightly. "You can't face this alone. I'll help you through this, Heiji."
He returned her hug, finally letting go of the pain and agony he had been carrying for the past few weeks.
~~
Timeskip to a case without Shinichi alongside him. The only people he knew there were the police investigator, Kazuha and… Hakuba.
After the case was solved, he felt like he was going to throw up. He covered his mouth and went to Kazuha.
“What’s wrong, Heiji?”
They communicated with their eyes. Kazuha worriedly looked at him and said: “Let me accompany you.” Heiji nodded as she led him to the nearest bathroom.
Hakuba was looking at them suspiciously so he decided to follow them.
With Kazuha and Heiji, they arrived at the comfort room and Heiji immediately threw up on the sink.
“Let it all out.” Kazuha said as she patted his back.
After he finished throwing up, the door suddenly opened. They were both startled as Hakuba walked in.
“You have the Hanahaki Disease? Hm, that’s why you were looking so suspicious the whole day.”
It remained quiet. Hakuba sighed and looked at Heiji seriously.
“Who is it?”
For the first time Heiji spoke, answering him.
“Kudo.”
“If you don’t mind me asking.. How did you fall in love with him?”
“Hakuba-kun!” Kazuha yelled and turned to her best friend, “You don’t have to tell him.”
Without looking at her, he shooked his head. “It’s alright, Kazuha.”
“I admired him. I saw him as a potential rival. He was my best friend . It was supposed to stay that way, I never thought that these feelings of mine would grow and develop into something else.” He paused for a second before continuing, “Romance. Such a dangerous yet sweet game. One that is hard to decipher. One that is hard to control. Even the best detective might have a hard time solving such a mystery. To solve and give a solution.”
"It sounds like you've gone through quite an emotional journey. Sometimes, feelings evolve unexpectedly, and navigating the complexities of romance can indeed be challenging. It seems like you're grappling with conflicting emotions and uncertainties about the nature of your relationship.” Hakuba said and the other just nodded. “So why not get surgery?”
“A surgery? Why would he get one? How is it connected to Hanahaki Disease?” Kazuha asked the blonde.
“Oh? You don’t know, Kazuha-san?” Hakuba turned to face the girl. “Getting surgery is one of the cures of this odd disease.”
“Wait, really?!” She turned to face Heiji and grabbed his left arm. “You should definitely get one, please! I don’t want you to die.”
“I’m sorry. But I’ve decided to let the flowers take over me.”
“What?! Are you an idiot, Heiji?!”
“It might be because when the flowers are removed, the victim's romantic feelings and their memories of that person also disappear.”
“Wh-what?”
“That’s exactly the reason. I’m sorry, Kazuha.”
“Think about it again, Hei." Her eyes were starting to get watery.
“Listen to her, Hattori. I know we’re not really that close. But I don’t wish for you to die because of these feelings of yours.” Hakuba crossed his arms. Heiji smiled.
‘Oh, how am I so lucky to have them as my friends? But unfortunately, my decision is fixed.’ He thought.
"I have thought about it since that day. Since I fell. Since I found out I have Hanahaki Disease. I wondered if I would ever get over this crush of mine for Kudo. I wondered if I should fall for someone else just so I can get rid of this disease. But I decided to not do it because I love Shinichi with all my heart, figuratively and literally." He chuckled and continued talking. "I wouldn't want to forget my love for him. I would especially not want to completely forget about him. Like, just because I need to get rid of this? It isn't really worth it. My memories of Shinichi and Shinichi, himself, are the most important."
After Heiji finished speaking, Kazuha hugged him and cried while the former patted her head.
Suddenly, Hakuba spoke.
“Do you mind?”
“What?” Heiji asked with a confused look on his face. His question was answered when the other opened his arms wide. Heiji laughed at the action and said, “Come here, Hakuba.”
The three hugged while comforting one another (mainly Kazuha).
~~
Hakuba had gathered the courage to confront Shinichi about Hattori's feelings. However, upon arriving, a bittersweet scene unfolded before his eyes.
Through the window, Hakuba witnessed Shinichi standing close to Kuroba, their gazes filled with an unspoken tenderness that spoke volumes. The way Shinichi looked at Kaito was unmistakably that of someone smitten, and deeply in love.
A pang of sadness and realization struck Hakuba. He understood at that moment that Shinichi's heart belonged to Kaito, and any attempt to intervene would only cause more heartache. With a heavy sigh, Hakuba murmured softly to himself, "Oh. I can’t save you after all…" The ache in his heart was evident as he whispered, "Hattori…"
Knowing he couldn't interfere or change the course of unrequited love, Hakuba silently turned away, leaving without confronting Shinichi. He carried with him the weight of unspoken truths and unfulfilled hopes, feeling the pain of Hattori's unreciprocated feelings for Shinichi. With a heavy heart, he left.

Kazuha approached Heiji with the intention of discussing his situation once more.
“Heiji? Can I talk to you for a moment?”
“Oh? Sure, Kazuha. What is it?”
“How do I say this… I love you so much, platonically. You know that, right? I’ll always remember you. Even though I don’t approve of your reasoning, I can’t really stop you now, right? You’ve always been a hard-headed guy. Once you decide on something, you’ll absolutely push through it even if it may cause you harm.” She paused and reached for his arms, gripping them tightly. Heiji continued to stare at her, his worry evident in his expression. “But is it selfish of me to force you to get surgery? I don’t want you to die. I’ve always seen you as a sibling, and I just… I don’t think I can live without you.”
“Kazuha… I— ”
“I know, just… Please let me have this.” She let go of his arms and hugged him. “I don’t want to let you go.”
“I’ll be here with you when I die,” she sniffed, “I promise.” He said as he hugged her back, patting her head to calm her down.
Kazuha held onto Heiji tightly, feeling the weight of his words sinking in. She knew he was full of determination, a trait she admired but feared in this situation. As they stood there, embracing each other, silence enveloped them. Heiji's promise echoed in her mind. A bittersweet reassurance that offered comfort and heartache at the same time.
After a while, they slowly released their embrace, both trying to compose themselves. Kazuha looked up at Heiji, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Thank you for understanding," she said softly
Heiji gently wiped away a tear from her cheek.
"I'll cherish every moment, Kazuha. And I'll make sure we have some unforgettable memories together."
With a faint smile, she nodded, trying to muster some courage.
"I'll support your decision, Heiji, even if it's hard for me. Just promise me one thing?"
Heiji nodded, his gaze fixed on hers, as he silently urged her to continue.
"Promise me you'll take care of yourself until... until the end," Kazuha said, her voice quivering.
Heiji nodded solemnly. "I promise, Kazuha."
They shared a sad look, knowing things wouldn't be easy. Kazuha turned away, trying to hide her tears as she walked off. Leaving Hattori behind, feeling heavy-hearted as he watched her leave.

Weeks turned into months, Heiji’s pain increased. Each passing day seemed to be a countdown to an uncertain finale.
One fateful evening while he was engrossed in reading a book on his bed, he suddenly felt an awful pain in his chest. He then sat up and he was startled when he threw up two whole flowers.
“What is this..?” He gently held the flowers in his hand and that’s when he realized, “Oh, my end is near, isn’t it? I can’t believe I have no one with me when I die.”
He sighed in relief, “Thank goodness, I guess?”
Just then, there was a knock on his door.
“Oh, how can I open the door in this state?” But despite feeling unwell, he managed to open it.
To his surprise, Shinichi and Kuroba were there.
‘Fuck.’
“W-what are you doing here?” Heiji asked, feeling the flowers rising in his throat again.
“What? I can’t visit my best friend?” Shinichi lightly slapped the other’s arm.
“No, I mean– “ He choked as he didn't know what to say.
His best friend whom he has a crush on and the reason he is suffering just visited him with him.
At this point, he had a vague idea why Shinichi visited him along with Kuroba.
“Relax, Hattori. I’m just here to introduce my boyfriend.”
“Kuroba Kaito, nice to meet you. Shinichi has been telling me all about you.”
‘Oh. So they finally got together huh..’
He knew they weren't meant to be. He knew they had no chance together. He knew but still…
The sight of his best friend with his boyfriend hurts him more than anything. More than a thousand needles. More than this pain he is experiencing.
It hurts even more than this damned Hanahaki Disease.
“Can we come in?”
Shinichi’s voice echoed through his ears, snapping him from his train of thoughts.
‘Oh shit.’
“Uh sorry no. Um, I'm actually waiting for Hakuba.” Heiji hated how he lied to his best friend but this is for the best.
“Oh?” They both raised their eyebrows. “You have a date with him?” Shinichi said with an obvious hint of amusement.
Heiji sighed, “It’s not like that. We just have something to talk about.”
“Sure, sure.” Shinichi smiled and Kaito chuckled.
Heiji almost coughed out petals if it weren’t for his self control.
“Well, enjoy your date then. We’ll be on our way.” Shinichi winked at him as he proceeded to grab Kaito’s waist as they walked away.
Heiji closed the door and immediately coughed out a bunch of petals, similar to the two flowers he last threw up.
His heart ached.
That should've been him. The person next to Shinichi. That should've been him. The one Shinichi holds dear. That should've been him. The one that Shinichi would call “his”. That should've been him.
That could've been them.
“Fuck. I swear the world hates me so much. This wasn’t the last conversation I wished to have.”
But fate doesn't work that way.
They weren't soulmates.
They weren't star crossed lovers.
They weren't “meant-to-be”.
It wasn't supposed to be Shinichi and Heiji.
It was Shinichi and Kaito.
Slowly, he went to his room and coughed up even more petals. He could feel the flower roots reaching his lungs, making it harder for him to breathe.
‘icantbreatheicantbreatheicantbreatheicantbreathe’
“Is this really the end?” He sobbed.
His sobs got quieter and quieter as he also slowly stopped breathing.
Fate didn't let them meet to be together.
Fate let them meet to be just friends.
His last words were: “I love you, Shinichi. Please don’t forget me.” He said as he coughed out two whole flowers. A forget-me-not and a sweet pea*.
Ultimately, from the very beginning to Heiji’s end, they could only be friends.
Forget-me-not : true love memories, do not forget me Sweet pea : blissful pleasures, goodbye, thank you for a lovely time
