"I've had enough... I've had enough... I've really..." The form that sits in the room can't be Megumi. It's too small, to broken, too sad. Yuuji stares in shock at just how much damage had been inflicted upon him until now, taking an anxious step forward as he approached the boy's soul, the soul Sukuna had worked so hard to completely subjugate and subdue. Yuuji hasn't seen Megumi in weeks, in a month or more, but he's sure this isn't the Megumi from his memories. It couldn't be. It looked too broken. Too wrong. Too twisted and morphed into something unrecognizable to anyone but Yuuji's soul. If it were anyone else, they could have never found Fushiguro. "Miki... Gojo-sensei...my family... I killed my family... It's all my fault..." A wavering advancement became a sturdy step as Yuuji stepped fully into the light, unsure if his presence can be felt or his voice can be heard, stiffening his lip in order to prepare to make more words, contemplating deeply on what to say. "... But it's not... it's not your fault... that's what you told me in Shibuya..." Yuuji's stomach twisted, beginning to feel an illness welling up inside of him as he took more in of the sight of Megumi Fushiguro, or whatever was left of him. There's no indication that Megumi's heard his words, nor any that relays that Megumi even knows Yuuji's there with him. For all Yuuji knows, Megumi could be so subdued he thinks that he's completely alone, far away from anyone's help. "N... No Matter what Sukuna does... we still love you...! You still have family...! I'm your family...! Yuta-senpai, Maki-senpai, they're your family and they're fighting for you...! We need you, Megumi...! Everyone's fighting to save you...! So... I won't let you go this easily...!" There's a raw desperation in Yuuji's words as he drops just in front of Megumi on his hands and knees, as he tries to get the boy's soul to recognize that he was there, that he wasn't alone anymore. Yuuji, however, doesn't dare touch him yet, his brows furrowing upwards in concern and sadness, in uncertainty and agony for his best friend. There's a gentle stirring among the constant trembling, the shaking and the fear, among the cold digits that lay uselessly near his head in a crumpled fist that had no tightness or aggression in it. Yuuji watches him closely, one of his hands lifting to try and touch Megumi's soul, to try and make him realize that he wasn't all by himself anymore. Shaking digits reach out, and just barely brush dark strands, when Megumi's voice, spoken into the floor, is heard in perfect, crystal clear clarity despite his position. "How can you still love me... after what I've done...? It was all my fault..." It's exactly what Yuuji once thought, not being spoken aloud to him with his best friend, his most precious person in the world, being used as a mirror. It's a cruel thing, to see what you once were now etched on the expression of the one you loved, treasured above all else. A cruel irony that Yuuji swallows and faces head-on despite the tragedy, the bitterness behind it. "Cause you loved me for all the same reasons." Yuuji answers him gently, as if he were speaking to a child, trying to even crack a smile so that Megumi might look up to see something familiar to greet him back into the waking world. " ... You can't do anything to make me stop. I promise you that. It wasn't you, remember...? You told me that in Shibuya... it wasn't you, it wasn't your fault, Umi... You're not to blame for any of this... " And he sees two beautiful eyes arise from the ground, slowly. Jade, the deepest forest, misty with tears as he's unable to stop himself... and Yuuji comes closer, fully embracing his best friend in his arms, holding him tightly to his chest, one hand on the back of his head. Yuuji can still feel the tears streaming as he lifts Megumi completely, with little effort, from the cold, hard ground where he's spent many, sleepless nights. "I got you. ... You're safe. " And in the confines of his shoulder, Megumi wails.
