Hi! This may be a dumb idea, so feel free to ignore it.

I am a firm believer that Steve would have a flinch response of some kind to the word bullshit because of Nancy and would love to see him work through it? And all I can think of is the card game? So if someone (Eddie) had noticed his reactions to the word and tried to help him through it by having the gang play the game that would be cool? Especially if Eddie noticed pre-relationship, helps Steve through it, Steve figured out what he was doing, and by the end they’re together?

Once again, if this idea is dumb you can ignore it, I won’t be offended!

He’d gotten over it. He told himself he was over it. He convinced himself he was over it.

But he heard Nancy tell Mike it was bullshit that she always had to cover for him with their parents when he stayed out past curfew, and it was like she was spitting it in his face instead.

He visibly recoiled, the air in his lungs suddenly rushing out of his nose.

Nobody noticed, but it took him a minute to catch his breath, to focus back on the fact that Nancy wasn’t talking to him, wasn’t calling him bullshit.

But then bullshit became Dustin’s favorite word and Steve didn’t know what to do about it.

He jokingly started saying “language” every time he said it, but Dustin was a stubborn kid, and Steve was too in his head to actually commit to getting him to stop.

He threw it around like it was nothing, and to him, it was nothing. He hadn’t had someone he loved call him bullshit.

He started to find reasons to avoid giving him rides. He would pick up extra shifts, pretend he fell asleep early, say he had a migraine. It all worked.

But he didn’t notice how Eddie started to get suspicious that he was now Dustin’s ride to everything, that Dustin was starting to worry that he’d done something to upset Steve, that Steve was ignoring everyone.

Eddie knew he had to talk to Steve alone, maybe get high with him so his defenses were down a bit, and find out what the hell was going on.

But Steve was good at this, avoiding people.

He was never completely alone at work, always a coworker or customer keeping him too busy to talk. He never answered his house phone anymore, and even though they all knew he was listening for the radio, he ignored that too. Eddie tried just showing up at his house at random times when he knew he wasn’t working, but he either wasn’t home or was doing a great job of pretending to be asleep.

Until he got lucky and caught him as he was walking out the door one morning, probably not expecting anyone to be awake this early and standing in his driveway.

Steve startled, but pasted on that fake smile that Eddie hated.

“Hey, Eds. Didn’t know you were stopping by. Everything okay?”

“I dunno, Stevie. Is everything good?”

Steve gulped.

“Everything’s fine.”

“That’s good. I just figured I’d check since you practically went invisible on us for the last three weeks. Dustin’s considered sending Hopper for a wellness check.”

“Oh. I’m fine. Just busy, ya know?”

Eddie searched his face, already knowing he was lying.

“That’s bullshit, Steve.”

He watched as Steve curled into himself, probably not even realizing he was doing it, and confirming at least some of Eddie’s suspicions.

“What’s going on with you?”

Eddie wasn’t leaving until he had answers and he certainly wasn’t about to let Steve hide away.

The kids missed him, Robin missed him, Eddie missed him.

Steve looked like he was fighting back tears when he looked back up at Eddie.

“I’m sorry I’m bullshit, it’s all bullshit, and I can’t make it better, make me better.”

“What? Stevie, you’re not making any sense.”

“I keep messing everything up. Even when I try to be better, to be good, it doesn’t fucking matter because I’m still bullshit..”

And now he was crying.

Shit. What the hell?

Eddie didn’t waste any time, stepping into Steve’s space and wrapping his arms around him, pulling him into his chest and making sure he had a safe place to cry.

He got the idea that Steve had probably never had a safe place to cry before.

He slowly walked them back into the house, frowning further when he realized the front door wasn’t even locked. Was Steve actually leaving his house unlocked? After everything they’d been through, he guessed maybe a regular old robber was the least of his worries, but still.

He managed to get to the couch in the living room, slowly sitting down and pulling Steve down next to him.

Steve wasn’t crying anymore, or at least he was being much quieter, his tears soaking the shoulder of Eddie’s shirt so much it was hard to tell if more was being added.

“Stevie? You’re not bullshit.” He felt Steve flinch against him, but continued. “I’m not sure who told you that you were, but you can’t let that control you so much. You’re the best guy I’ve ever met besides Wayne and I’m still thinking he’s just the Patron Saint of Patience.”

Steve let out a small snort of laughter and Eddie considered that a win.

But his brain was still going 90 miles a minute, thoughts running laps in his head as he thought about something Robin told him a few months ago.

She didn’t tell him any details, would never betray Steve’s trust like that, but she’d mentioned that any chance of Steve getting back with Nancy had been left in the bathroom of Tina’s party.

Eddie, despite what most people thought, was pretty intelligent. He could usually connect dots even when the lines between were spiraling to other dots as a distraction.

So this particular line between what Robin said, and what Steve was saying now about how he was bullshit, suddenly connected in his mind.

“Did Nancy say that to you?”

Steve pulled away, face suddenly blank.

“It wouldn’t matter who said it if they’re right.”

“I can’t believe I thought you were still in love with her this whole time.”

“What? No. I haven’t been in love with her in years.”

“Why are you even still friends? She really said that to you?”

“We’ve moved on. We were both going through a lot and she didn’t mean it.”

“I hate to say it, Stevie, but it doesn’t seem like you’ve moved on at all.”

“What do you mean?”

Eddie watched as Steve tried to work it out on his own. Eddie loved the face he made when he was confused. He loved every face Steve made.

Snap out of it, Munson.

“Well, if hearing it in passing upsets you so much that you avoid your entire family for weeks, you aren’t over it.”

He let that sink in, watching as Steve’s face went through all the stages of grief in less than a minute.

“I’m not avoiding everyone.”

“Steve, you are. And I’m sure everyone will understand if you just explain.”

“I’m not doing that.”

“Okay, then you can just say you had a busy few weeks and now you’re not.”

“Dustin says it a lot.”

“Says what?”

Eddie knew, but he needed Steve to say it. He needed him to stop associating that word with himself.

“Why are you gonna make me say it?”

“Because you need to stop thinking it’s an adjective that describes you. You’re the farthest thing from bullshit.”

Steve flinched again, but recovered quickly.

How long had this been happening that no one noticed? How long had Eddie not noticed?

“Alright! I have an idea.” Eddie got up and went to the closet in the hall that held all the stuff for when the kids came over. Movies, tapes and records, extra blankets and pillows, changes of clothes, books, school supplies, cards. Eddie grabbed the closest deck of cards and walked back to the couch. “We’re gonna call Robin and we’re gonna play a game.”

“What game?”

“Bullshit.”

Another flinch.

God, Eddie felt so stupid for not noticing this sooner, not putting the pieces together earlier.

“How will that help?”

“Because you’re going to hear the word so much, and we’re going to have so much fun, that you won’t be able to think negatively about it anymore.”

“And if it doesn’t work?”

That was a possibility. It could end up making things worse, causing more stress for Steve. But if there was anything he learned from his months of therapy, it was that exposure to something negative enough would leave you feeling indifferent to it eventually.

“If it doesn’t work, you can push me into the pool with all my clothes on in the middle of winter. Deal?”

“Fine.”

They shook on it, Eddie letting his hand linger for a bit too long in Steve’s, only letting go when Steve raised his brows at him.

Eddie called Robin, who was not thrilled about having to get out of bed on a Saturday before ten, but did it anyway when Eddie explained what it was for.

She’d finally gotten her license two months ago and her mom let her use her car on weekends, so she promised to leave as soon as she was dressed.

Eddie immediately called Dustin, just to let him know Hellfire was off for the day and to tell everyone. Dustin threw a fit, said it was bullshit, said he can’t just cancel with no intention of rescheduling, and Eddie hung up on him.

He’d have a conversation with him later.

Steve had gone upstairs to change, said he wanted to be comfortable for this and his jeans and polo weren’t really lounging around clothes.

So Eddie waited for Robin, and he waited for Steve to come back downstairs, and he thought about how much he hated Nancy Wheeler in that moment.

He’d gotten close to her when he was trying to graduate. She helped him study so he could pass the finals he needed to, even without being able to be in class because of being stuck in the hospital for so long. He helped her pack for college, offering up his van as a thank you for all she’d done to help him. He called to talk with her weekly.

All this time, she was at least some of the reason that Steve had negative feelings about himself.

Sure, Eddie could guess that his parents had a lot to do with it too, but this was somehow worse.

He’d trusted Nancy.

Steve came down just as Robin was walking in the front door, bag of chips in hand.

“It’s nine in the morning. I can cook breakfast,” Steve said to her.

“Nah, chips are a necessary staple for card games no matter the time.”

No one argued with her as they sat around the kitchen table.

Eddie dealt the cards out, explaining the rules as he went, though they all had played before. He added a rule though.

“Every time someone calls bullshit on Steve, we have to say one thing that we like about him. Good with you, Robbie?”

Robin smirked. “Perfect.”

Steve didn’t argue, probably because he knew he wouldn’t win against them, so they got started.

The first round went pretty smoothly. Steve ended up never having to lie, and nobody called bullshit on him. He barely flinched when Robin called it on Eddie the first two times, and didn’t at all the third time.

But the second round started and Steve was not having any luck. He got away with his first lie, but he knew Robin could tell he got away with it and she wouldn’t be going easy on him next time.

Next time happened to be his next turn.

He placed down the card that should’ve been an 8, but was actually a Jack. He confidently said 8. Or thought he did.

“BULLSHIT!”

He felt his hands shaking, but he did his best to ignore it as he turned the card over to show she was right.

It was bullshit.

“I love that you always try to show interest in what we all like even if you don’t really like it. Like when El started crocheting and nobody would help her understand the instructions, but you sat with her for hours while she worked it out and helped read the instructions to her when she had her hands busy.”

Eddie was smiling and nodding along like he agreed.

“That’s just what friends do.”

“Maybe. But none of her other friends were doing it, were they?”

Yeah, okay. Steve nodded and they moved on.

But his luck was long gone now, and his next card had to be a lie too.

“Bullshit.” This time Eddie called it.

Steve was doing his best not to cry, but something about hearing that pointed at him from Eddie made him feel worse.

“I love that you always hug the kids. Saying hello, saying goodbye, when you’re proud of them. You aren’t afraid to show them affection.”

Eddie was giving him a fond smile, but Steve couldn’t do anything except nod.

He couldn’t say that Eddie’s plan was really working, but maybe he needed to give it more time.

He made it through the rest of that round fine, not having to lie again, and only having to call bullshit on Robin once.

But their next round seemed to turn into them calling it on him every turn, regardless of if they thought he was lying or not.

“The way you make us all feel important.”

“Your laugh is contagious and it’s fun to see how easily it spreads through the group when you get started.”

“You always have dinner for us when we come over, and it’s always so good. Like you’ve spent the whole day making sure it’s perfect and you want us to enjoy it.”

“You never let us face anything alone. We can always rely on you to be there in whatever way we need the second we need you. No questions asked.”

Steve still flinched every time they called bullshit, but it was getting easier to move on from it and hear their compliments.

Finally, on Steve’s last turn, Eddie called it on him.

He watched as Eddie glanced over at Robin, then back at Steve, blush coloring his cheeks.

“I love that you hold my hand when we’re smoking outside because you know it helps me stay grounded and not get lost in my thoughts too much. I love that if I fall asleep on the couch, you cover me with a blanket and lay down next to me so I don’t wake up alone. I love that you always pack an extra cookie in your lunchbox just in case I visit you at work. I love that you put your entire reputation on the line to make sure I got the best care a person can have in the hospital, and even after with the physical therapy and regular brain therapy. I love that you keep finding ways to show me that sometimes popular and mainstream things are okay.” Eddie gave him a more confident smile. “I love everything about you.”

“That was more than one,” Steve said breathlessly.

“Yeah, hard to pick just one thing when I love you this much.”

“What?”

Steve was so confused. Eddie had been nice saying the things he did before, but this? There was no way he meant it.

Not the way Steve was hoping he did.

“Can you two just kiss before I puke?” Robin complained.

Eddie looked at him, a surprisingly calm smile on his face.

“Only if Stevie wants me to.”

“Mhm. Yes. Please do that,” Steve rushed out, not sure what the hell was happening, but not wanting to wait for it to change.

Eddie was up from his seat and kneeling in front of Steve in seconds, one hand on his knee and one on his cheek.

Steve wasn’t breathing. He was barely even able to focus on Eddie on his knees in front of him.

Eddie leaned in slowly, giving Steve a chance to back away if he wanted to.

But he didn’t want to.

He wanted to feel Eddie’s lips on his more than anything.

And he did.

They were surprisingly soft, but firm and demanding, making sure Steve followed him instead of the other way around.

He could distantly hear Robin eating chips, but didn’t bother to tune in to whatever she was complaining about, just enjoying the sensation of having Eddie’s lips and hands on him.

It did end though.

“You know what’s bullshit?” Steve asked.

Eddie’s eyes widened in question.

“The fact that we have to stop kissing.”

Eddie let out a loud laugh and leaned in to kiss him again.

“You know what’s bullshit to me?”

“Hm?”

“That you ever thought for one second that you weren’t amazing.”

Steve blushed, but looked at the way Eddie was looking at him.

Like he loved him. For real. No bullshit.

ahh imagine the bachelors when you’re pregnant talking to your belly to get the baby to calm down at night. like the baby likes to keep you awake at night by kicking you directly in the ribs and the only thing that works is your husbands voice.

I think shane would feel super awkward at first since hes not much of a talker anyway, but it becomes a cherished nightly routine for him in the last few weeks of your pregnancy “hello, papa shane reporting for duty, its time to chill out so your mother can get some sleep” and tell it chicken stories, elliott would read poetry and shakesphere, Alex would probably talk sports to it.

The bachelors talking to your baby bump to calm down your unborn child so you can sleep

Probably a bit nervous at first because he isn’t sure what to say

But when your having issues sleeping because your unborn child keeps kicking you as hard as they can he agrees to give it a shot

Gently lays his head on your bump

“Hey there little one, your moms out here trying her best to grow you and she needs to sleep to do that, think you might be able to settle down a bit?”

Is surprised when his voice seems to calm the unborn child down

Very quickly becomes his favorite part of the nightly routine

“Well hello in there tiny one, thank you for tuning into the nightly talk show. Today we’re gonna learn about you! That’s right, tonight’s broadcast is all about your growth”

He probably noticed you were having issues sleeping and he could see all the wild movements from the outside

“Hey kiddo, I know your doing your own thing in there but momma needs to sleep, whatcha need?”

When you tell him the baby calmed down after hearing his voice he’s thrilled

Will 100% explain the rules of gridby in depth to your unborn child

“Okay so if you wanna grow up big and strong like your daddy, your gonna have to have proper nutrition, lucky for you I have years experience”

Spends almost every night at bedtime telling your unborn child all about the farm and gridby and of-course rusty the dog

Yandere!Ao Bing Headcanons- Ancient and Modern verse

So, what can you expect with both Ancient and Modern Ao Bing as your yandere “lover”?

Ancient Ao Bing

Lots of clinginess- Ao Bing is extremely clingy. Like, I cannot stress this point enough, he will essentially be your other half, and not necessarily in a romantic way. He loves to be near you, but even being in the same space as you isn’t quite enough. No, he needs to be like, beside you, sitting in your lap, draped over your back near you. 

Lots of cuddles and affection- Along with the first point, Ao Bing will absolutely drown you in cuddles and affection, every opportunity to do so he gets. He just adores you so, so, so much, and he wants to express it all the time. 

Lots of supervision- Ao Bing (at least in my opinion) always has this look of apprehension on his face, and that makes me think that, as it relates to you, the cause of this look is the fear that any number of things can and will harm you. Because of this, Ao Bing barely lets you step foot outside of y’alls home without him being right there to supervise and make sure nothing untoward happens.

Lots of uncertainty- To somewhat accompany the last point, Ao Bing is a person who is very dependent on the thoughts and opinions of others. Now as time passes and he matures, others affect him less and less, but the need never fully abandons him. And he especially cares about your opinion. With this being the case, you’ll find that Bing Bong can rarely make decisions when you’re around without your input. So, essentially, never. And though he won’t ever ask for it outright, he’ll almost always need you to reassure and comfort him whenever he’s feeling not so confident. 

Extremely mild, almost nonexistent punishments- Ancient!Ao Bing has a godly amount of patience. For most things, but especially for you. This being the case, once he abducts you (and in all likelihood, he will be abducting you at some point) he'll be very forthcoming and understanding of your frustration at your newfound situation. Even still, he knows he can't just let you throw fits and isolate yourself/ignore him, so if, and depending on your constitution, when he punishes you, he does so very gently (and admittedly, probably with a fair amount of tears 🙃). 

Modern!Ao Bing 

A fair amount of sadism- Just from looking at modern day Ao Bing, I can tell he's a bit (or maybe more than a bit 🙃) of a sadist. I could get all into psychoanalyzing why that is but for the sake of brevity, I won't. Just know that he maybe sorta kinda likes to see you in pain, and he also maybe sorta kinda likes to be the cause of it. 

A good amount of spoilage- This may come as a surprise, but Modern!Ao Bing actually really likes to shower you with gifts. From expensive jewelry to precious gems and the finest clothes and dining, if you ask, and even if you don't, he will provide. (You may have to bribe him a lil' with a kiss or two on occasion, but usually he's pretty good about just gifting you things without an ultimatum.) 

Constant supervision- Ao Bing is terrified of losing you. There, I said it. With this being the case, he will always have someone keeping track of you, to 1.) make sure you can't escape and 2.) make sure no hurt, harm or danger has befallen you (😂).

Some sporadic at best- but more severe than his ancient counterpart’s, punishments- Modern!Ao Bing is not shy about the fact that if you step out of line, he will punish you. Not too too severely, but depending on how heinous the offense, you can end up with some bruises not gone hold you. 🤷🏾‍♀️ That said, it’s not often that Modern!Ao Bing can be bothered to actually take the time out of his life to punish you physically, so most times he’ll just throw some scathing words or a dark glance your way and call it a day.

Thoughts on DM3. Don’t hate me. 😂

DM3 was not a bad film, I have seen a lot worse and I even went to see it at the cinema a few times. I’d rate it a 6/7 out of ten.

The problem was with it, it felt outdated with an 80s obsessed villian. Don’t get me wrong, I think Bratt is a great idea and I get the concept of it but just maybe with his own film, not in DM.

Aswell, I felt they took a lot of things away from us that were just getting started.

- Agnes sold Fluffy the unicorn though in DM2 she would have screamed the house down if anything happened to him and he was such a big part of the merch. But no, gone, sold to some lil blonde.

- We didn’t see much of Grus freeze-ray nor his tank of a car. - not a big deal but these lil things make the film what it is.

-There was no Fred. - again like the point above. I would have also have liked to have seen Jillian, I thought she was a great and (annoying) addition to DM2.

-Gru didn’t really bother with the girls or interact with any of them, well a part from Agnes. He didn’t even put them to bed like he used to and just left Lucy to do it all. He didn’t really seem supportive of her with her trying to be a mum I thought. If that was my husband I would have kicked his arse lol!

- Margo got engaged to some weird kid and Gru was nowhere to be seen but in DM2 he was this overprotective dad that would have broke his nose or something lol! I know Lucy had it in hand but…..ya know. I wanted to see the overprotective dad mode.

- We didn’t see much of the house which we seen a lot of in DM1/2 and I thought that was such a shame. Why couldn’t Dru just come to Grus house or something lol

- I disliked how the writers wrote out Dr Nefario (we won’t mention the actors name and no one would of cared if someone else was voicing him) but what a lazy way to just freeze him in carbinite. Gru didn’t really seem that upset over it though the Dr had been like a dad to him. Like ?????

- Dru wasn’t bad, it was kinda nice seeing Gru have some male company as if he was down the pub with a mate but I also found it odd they had all of a sudden put on him the temptation to go back to villainy when in DM2 he had that temptation but he wasn’t interested in the slightest. He just wanted to be a father, get a job, get his girl and that was it. Every scene was perfect, the actors, writers etc put all there heart and soul into it and you couldn’t have put anymore into it really, even if you tried. Gru was really at his peak in DM2. Maybe I’ve got it wrong. Idkkkk.

- I didn’t mind the Minions and personally I never do, I think they just add to the film and I don’t find them annoying. I actually liked the prison scene, I thought that was a pretty good idea tbh.

It even felt like at times the animated characters didn’t want to even be doing the storyline in DM3. 😂

3 obviously made a lot of money because everyone was still hyped around DM2 but came out of the cinema or wherever they first watched it empty handed.

Yes it’s ok chucking in a scene here and there with a treehouse or an Agnes and Gru moment to put in some heart but it was almost forced. The writers said themselves they struggled and just wrote for themselves which I found really sad as there is so much you can do with this franchise I think.

I’m ngl, I am a bit nervous about DM4 as I think this will be its last chance to survive but the trailer looks amazing and I’m already won over by the baby Gru Jr. I wanted them to have a baby in DM3!!!!! Really DM4 should have been 3.

Should have rhey aged the girls up. Yes and no. Maybe a bit? Tbh personally, I don’t really care. It keeps there innocence but I would like to see Gru bonding with them again.

It wasn’t all bad though, I liked Lucy trying to be a mom and the animation has definitely stepped up a notch to the point that Gru is pale AF now and they all look a bit different. Aswell the actors, Carell, Kristin did a great job as always.

This is all my own opinion so don’t come at me 🤣.

Arya also being commander of his battle guard 🥹 bran maybe in a master of whispers?? Rickon please be alive and you can be the coin master because Sansa is hopeless with sum, just kidding Jon has been practicing in castle black for this moment 😂😂

There must always be a stark in winterfell, I wonder who will stay? Arya to hold down castle defences or will she go with Jon as commander of battle guard? Jon for his safety as king in the north or go to solidifying trust? Sansa like last time to keep things in order and as lady of winterfell, or will she join as the hand of the northern king? *whispers* would be solved if rickon was still here, haha digging for a spoiler

Both Doran and Oberyn were prime examples of her conclusion that vengeance is a double edged sword but she also learned from them to be fair and still be ruthless enough to do what is needed.

I think she’d either be a great ally or a dangerous enemy.

My lips are sealed, I won’t give ya any spoilers as to how the alliance will, if it will, come to be.

Okay, so my energy for Beetlebabes has been recently sparked, and I haven't been able to answer this question. You seem like an expert, so I gotta ask: When in the Beetlejuice or even Beetlebabes tags, and people say "DNI" is that like a "If you even remotely enjoy the concept of BJ and Lyds don't touch this post" sort of deal or is it just those people don't want asks from those of us who enjoy the ship? Because to be frank, I have days where I'm content to think of the two just as friends, so the whole DNI thing is a mystery to me.

I wouldn’t exactly say I am an expert on this but I have been around a while in this fandom. So my experience when it comes to DNI’s feels most prevalent in the musical portion.

Sorry Musical Babes, but you all are the new kids in town when it when it comes to the 34 years old franchise. I still love ya.

That is not to say you won’t come across it in the Movie or Toon verse. It happens.

Most of us older fandom people understand the whole “don’t like don’t read” and “ship and let ship” concepts. This whole DNI thing stems from a different concept of controlling who can enjoy a creators content. It feels backwards to me since I am used to people wanting the views and comments.

I find, in my experience, that if there is a DNI in regards to Beetlebabes/Beetz/Betelyds the person who puts it there does not want views, likes, reblogs, or comments from anyone who even mildly accepts the pairing.

I personally try to avoid and block DNI’s since I dont want the hassle. I have strong feelings on the use of controlling who is allowed to view works but it is their choice if they want to micro manage. Best to respect them by blocking or using a word filter to hid any of their posts. There are plenty of artists and writers out there who would appreciate your interactions.

As for this blog, its supports both romantic ship and friendship. I have plenty of neutral followers who see the hug drawings and smooches as a friendly gesture of love as opposed to a passionate one.

Trafalgar Law heaved a heavy sigh. “There’s only 2 meets left of the season. I want him to see at least one.”

“Right! You guys have been seeing each other how long, and we STILL haven’t met him yet!”

“Its only been 4 months and we’ve been busy.” Law said nonchalantly, reapplying chalk onto his grips, but he couldn’t quite hide the small smile on his lips.

“Well you’re definitely introducing later, no way you’re getting out of it this time.”

“Yeah, gotta see who’s keeping my friend happy.” Penguin teased, giving Law a playful wink as he went to go warm-up.

The brunette softly chuckled. “Yeah. I guess he does.”

Eustass Kid turned toward his best friend Killer jogging up, to meet him.

“Sorry man. Didn’t know how long you’d be in the shower. These things get packed and I wanted a good seat.”

Killer stifled his laugh. “I’m surprised no one knows about you guys.”

Eustass was the captain of the school’s swim team. He’s their anchor swimmer during relays and dominates his competition during solo events. He and his teammates have brought the university championship titles since his first year and they’re expected to have an even better season this year, after recruiting a couple of talented freshman over the summer.

Law is the captain of the men’s gymnastics team and posters of he and his teammates faces are plastered across campus. The school was known for how amazing their men’s and women’s gymnastics teams are. Some went to compete on a world level, a handful even making their way to the Olympics.

Eustass glanced down at the bouquet of flowers in his hand, wide smile spread across his cheeks. “Yeah. Until tonight.”

For the life of him, Law couldn’t stop looking up at the stands while waiting for the next rotation. It happened so often that Clione had even called him out on it. He couldn’t tell who it was that he kept looking at though.

Law was never distracted when it came to competition time. He was always laser-focused on his studies and in his extra-curricular activities. But damn was it hard not to notice firery red sitting in the stands amongst the crowd of people.

Anytime their eyes met, Kid winked, waved, blew him a kiss, or mouthed a “You’re amazing”.

It made Law giddy.

Almost everybody could swim (not as great as Kid…), but only a small amount of people could do the impressive flips and tricks that he was witnessing today. And Law, he was the best one out there! Although knowing that Eustass was watching gave him undeniable butterflies in his stomach, it also motivated him to show off a little.

He had his best competition of the season! He beat all of his personal best scores in all the events that he competed in. Parallel bars, pommel horse, and floor. We even won 1st in high bar and pommel horse, receiving 3rd in vault (only Shachi and a guy from another school beating him).

On a more serious note, Josh can be incredibly empathetic and therapeutic to talk with. Oddly enough, I think he could be the person that often reminds you to stay grounded and focus on the positive. He’s often scatterbrained and goofy, but has a soothing, introspective side that you’ll be fortunate enough to see firsthand. He can be your light and your calm 😇

I would LOVE to see what you could do with a 4th of July prompt, especially considering the trauma Starcourt brought!

(For some godforsaken reason it’s the FIRST of July and there’s a whole-ass fireworks show in my neighborhood because I live in the pits of Conservative American South so. That’s… fun. Honestly the fireworks don’t bother me I just don’t understand why it ends up being a week-long celebration. 😂)

I feel your pain my star ✨ Where I live is the same way pretty much the whole week. It’s very “god, guns, and country” where I live so I am very grateful to be in the mountains this whole week 😂

Steve wouldn’t admit it, but his nerves about July 4th had gotten almost unbearable in the last week.

The amount of people hoarding fireworks on their porch was enough to make him want to run away.

And of course, most people started on the 3rd and continued until they ran out of supplies.

He arranged to stay with Eddie for the week, knew if he had someone who could hold him through it all he’d probably be okay.

Robin didn’t have the same problem as him, was even planning on attending a fireworks show with her parents in Indy.

When he heard some going off down the road from the trailer, he flinched, his whole body curling against Eddie.

“It’s alright, sweetheart. They won’t do a whole lot tonight. I’ve got ya.”

Eddie was right, they only lasted about five minutes, but it felt like the longest five minutes of Steve’s life.

He relaxed into Eddie’s chest, knew he would fall asleep soon with the way Eddie was playing with his hair.

“You wanna talk about it?”

Steve tensed for a moment.

“About what?”

“Last year. Why you hate fireworks so much. Any of it.”

Steve could say no. Eddie would drop it and pretend he didn’t ask if that’s what Steve wanted.

But Steve wanted to be honest with him, especially because Eddie had always been honest with him.

“It’s just like, my brain can’t just hear fireworks anymore, ya know? It hears the way Robin was begging to be let go, and the way I felt like I was going to die because I had to protect her and the kids. It reminds me that I was so concussed, I barely remembered the 24 hours after I got out. It reminds me how much we all lost that night. Every single firework going off is a reminder that we don’t always win.”

Eddie’s arms tightened around him, his lips softly pressed against the top of his head.

“I know I wasn’t there and can’t imagine what it was like, but you made it out. You may not have won, but you didn’t lose everything. You all grew closer, you got Robin!”

“And head trauma, don’t forget the head trauma.”

Steve and Eddie both laughed, though Steve still felt too on edge, too close to crying.

Eddie could tell from the way he held himself against him that words weren’t going to help, not now.

But a distraction might.

“You wanna go to my room?”

“You trying to distract me?”

“I’m not opposed to distracting you without our clothes on.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yep. Best distraction in town according to the locals.”

“How many locals have been in your bed?”

“Just you, sweetheart.”

“Well, I guess the locals are right then. You are a good distraction.”

It wasn’t really a fix, but it was a bit of a band aid, especially on the 4th.

But Steve barely heard anything in town with Eddie whispering everything he wanted him to do, and everything he loved about him in his ear as he touched and kissed every inch of his skin to help him stay focused here instead of the past.

Ya know i used to be a band kind, 12 yrs of my life i played alto, tenor, and basoon. To this day, if i am not playing the music or up on stage or have multiple stimulation like reading etc. I WILL pass tf out when at a concert. Doesnt matter what kinda concert. Rick, country, orchestral, Beyoncé. I have fallen asleep on amps while the band plays, i have fallen asleep at Beyoncé lololol.
