Disney: Yeah, sorryy, we don't know how to make villains without queercoding them and people didn't like the twist-villains, so we stopped making them alltogether :( I hope you like 3593 intergenerational family-traumas!
Dreamworks, while creating not one, not two, but three amazing villains: Pathetic

One of my biggest pet peeves is the assumption that something has to be sad for it to be tragic.
I've always been a big believer of the 'Apollo has an awful love life'/'Apollo is plain unlucky with love' line of thinking but it does bother me that the general reasoning for that statement is given to the concept of 'Apollo is somehow undesireable and thus rejected' (Cassandra/Daphne/Marpessa) or 'his lovers die young and thus their love is unfulfilled' (Cyparissus/Hyacinthus/Coronis). I personally think that's a very unfortunate way of looking at things - not only because it neglects the many perfectly cordial entanglements and affairs Apollo has had, both mortal and divine - but because it presents a very shallow interpretation of the concepts of love and loss and how loss affects people.
Apollo can still grieve lovers that have a long, healthy life. The inherent tragedy of an immortal who knows his lovers and children will die and cannot stop it does not stop being tragic simply because those lovers and children live long, fulfilled lives. The inherent tragedy of loss does not stop being tragic simply because someone knows better than to mourn something that was always going to end.
What is tragic is not that Apollo loves and loses but that loss itself follows him. Apollo does not love with the distance of an immortal, he does not have affairs and then leaves never to listen to their prayers again. He does not have offspring and then abandon them to their trials only to appear when it is time to lead them to their destinies. He raises his young, he protects the mothers of his children, he blesses the households that have his favour and multiplies their flocks that they may never go hungry. He educates his sons, he adorns his daughters and even in wrath he is quick to come to his senses and regret the punishments he doles out.
Apollo loves. And like mortals, there will always be some part of him that wishes to protect the objects of his affections. Apollo, however, is also an emissary of Fate. He knows that the fate of all mortal things is death. He knows that to love a mortal is to accept that eventually he will have to bury them. There is no illusion of forever, there is no fantasy where he fights against the nature of living things and shields his beloveds from death. Apollo loves and because of that love, he also accepts.
And that, while beautiful, is also tragic.

Every single time someone makes Azul out to be a pathetic easily bullied guy with no ability to defend himself whatsoever an angel loses its wings falls to the ground and fucking dies.
Please remember, Azul's overblot was the exception, not the norm. He's not a pathetic little crybaby. The thing about this portrayal is that it does insinuate the idea that someone is weak and "pathetic" for having a breakdown when it's this widespread, clearly genuinely belief that a character is pathetic as evidenced by one breakdown.
Same goes for Riddle. Yes, he had a breakdown during his overblot, but with both him and Azul, that was an exception, not the norm. There are plenty of scenes where they've both shown themselves to be smug and powerful characters.
Heck, even during Azul's breakdown, he did end up displaying his true power by sucking that literal magic and talent out of all the students nearby. Leona literally stated that his Unique Magic was forbidden. Riddle was known as the Crimson Tyrant because of the way he treated others. Azul isn't going to cry every time someone insults him, case in point, the way he behaves with Jamil, who makes a habit out of it. He doesn't run off feeling hollow after every interaction, because, well, he keeps coming back! And his enthusiasm is never hankered!
Even when dealing with physically stronger individuals, like Floyd (and most twst characters let's face it most of the cast has six packs), Riddle is never afraid. It was once mentioned that he effortlessly overpowered Floyd during the opening ceremony in Beans Day. With his magic, he's not weak, and he's certainly not helpless.
Obviously, while you can write whatever you want, I just want to explain why I believe that characterization is inaccurate. I love writing fics myself, and I (a long with most fic writers I've asked) prefer writing things that seem like they could reasonably happen with the characters and/or au in question.

Going to rant for a second but I saw this shit on TikTok (the original TikTok is someone talking about how they were upset to see a lot of their bookmarks were now deleted works) and this kind of shit makes me FUME. The entitlement to authors' work, the utter disdain for authors and complete lack of gratitude, all that stuff is killing my love for fandom. (All of the mean answers are towards the one author who said this made them not want to post anymore btw.)
Ao3 being an 'archive' does not entitle you to steal other people's works. Using the 'lost media' argument to guilt trip an author when talking about someone who does not wish for their own work that they created themselves for free to be available anymore is absolutely awful.
Also, imo this points to a disconnect between authors and readers that has been growing larger and larger lately. A lot of readers just consume fanfics, and they do it in a way that... doesn't include authors anymore, and doesn't recognize their role within fandom.
Anyway. Don't be like that.

If you hate your body, do not achieve the body you want out of hate.
I know what you're thinking: starve yourself, run yourself into the ground, faster cardio, no carbs, no sugar.
You're reaching a perceived level of health at the expense of your actual health. If you expedite the process without doing the internal work, you're fucked. Now, I know there's some people who are finally happy and, uh, thinner body and I'm not talking to you, okay? Please, separate yourself from the equation and listen to what I'm saying.
It is so much more rewarding if you just improve your lifestyle. I just got my 10,000 steps on this beautiful day. I didn't do it to burn calories, I did it because I get to. I'm gonna go train legs now, I fucking love squatting and deadlifting! I love being strong! I have more time today, so I'm gonna take my time to cook a delicious, nutritious lunch. I'm not grinding, I'm not fasting, I'm not just having protein. I'm not doing burpees in-between my sets.
When you do this from an extreme standpoint, you're abandoning your quality of life. Therefore, you'll be more resentful. And because you're so resentful, you'll constantly be looking for validation, and it will never be good enough, and you'll be chasing a body that's impossible to reach 'cause your standards are too high. Just chase health! It's so much more rewarding, and you don't have to answer to fucking anybody!

Currently thinking about how when if Shane now lives with an has kids with the farmer Jas probably start to resent Shane when she grows older and more aware. It's like "He was supposed be my godfather... He barely did anything with that status, leaving Aunt Marnie to raise me and then while I was like 8 he goes off and raises two new children with the new farmer? Bullshit" Godddddd I shit and piss everywhere every time it crosses my mind. I fffffucking WISH WE COULD ADOPT JAS!!!
When she's an adult she'll probably forgive Shane, knowing he was going through a really hard time because his friends died and he was suffering with being an alcoholic, but she would still be upset with Shane having kids, kind of like a "Why not me? Why couldn't you just have been there for me? I was suffering through grief too, and I was a child, I would have done anything for that loving family you created, why couldn't I be apart of it?"
I KNOW IT'S TOO MUCH TO ASK BUT PLEASEEEE AT LEAST LET HER IN ON OUR LIFEEEE!!! Like maybe the first kid you have with Shane is actually just Jas, like instead he's like "Can Jas be out daughter?" And then she's just there! ERIC I'M BEGGING I WILL SACRIFICE ONE OF MY CHILDREN IN MY MAIN SAVE JUST TO HAVE JAS!!!

I barely watch Schlatt anymore but when I see a clip of him absolutely gushing and losing his marbles because he spots a cat in the background of Ted's video and immediately cooing and talking about Jambo it reminds me why I love him
