It took me a minute to finally get my notes straight so I could answer this— I hope it was worth the wait! I’ll give some bullet points of tips I use to help boost my production speed in addition to the strategies I use to try to keep characters consistent. Let’s get into it!
Tumblr media
First up: How I draw faster!
Note that these mostly apply to digital art, as that’s my preferred medium.
If your art program has them, experiment with brush stabilization levels. My hands shake really bad, especially while I’m drawing, so I put a lot of effort into finding a stabilizer level that works with my need to control lines while also smoothing out the tremors in my hands. It’s made it so much easier to draw lines like I want to, and therefore lets me move on instead of redrawing the same line over and over again.
Creating templates for your art helps so much— setting up things like canvas size, color profile, DPI, background colors and images like the paper texture PNGs that I love to use ahead of time helps me get drawing faster, while I’m excited and inspired! Similarly, having a naming system for your art files is useful for speed as well as finding and organizing old pieces easier.
Having premade color palettes of local colors for characters is also super helpful for speed, as well as keeping characters on model :>
Personally, I use a single brush for lineart and rely on the selection tool and bucket fill for coloring when I actually bother to color things in. My lines are pretty loose nowadays, and the same goes for when I color things— I don't abide exactly by the lineart I draw, and get pretty messy with the selection tool and bucket fill!
I simplify character designs as much as possible— the standard design of a sigilyph, for example, is pretty complex. But I made Sen a lot simpler (and also forgot the spikes on her torso in this panel. Oops)
Tumblr media
As for keeping characters on-model

I’m very flattered that you feel otherwise, but I actually don't keep characters very on-model between different drawings— just look at the different ways I've drawn Ark below— however, I'm improving over time as I become more familiar with how I want to draw the characters! A big part of my process of keeping characters on model is drawing characters over and over to familiarize myself with how they should look through trial and error.
Tumblr media
Learning common angles and poses I will draw characters in is very helpful for making sure they look consistent. As a bit of a downside, though, it makes wonkier angles stick out like a sore thumb! Drawing Ark with his head slightly angled downward was really hard, and I don't think I communicated it that well here:
Tumblr media
I try to have the characters broken down into as many simple shapes that fit into each other as I possibly can, like Twig’s head (circle + rectangle snout + angled rectangle horn) Ark's hair (that weird bangs shape) and Dusknoir's upper body (beanbag shape / slightly elongated circle torso, arms coming out of his frill that comes in a very particular arcing line). This makes it way easier to draw characters quickly and consistently, because I can learn those lines and shapes and get the motion of drawing them into muscle memory.
Tumblr media
Also, knowing the ways characters emote is like knowing cheat codes. Giving characters things like a signature comedic expression of shock or grin that they make when they're happy are very helpful!
Tumblr media
The biggest tip I can give on the topic of keeping characters on-model (at least without model sheets— model sheets are THE way to go. Don’t be like Sofie and neglect those pieces of gold) is really just to practice. Build up familiarity with the shapes and proportions of characters, get a feel for how your hand and wrist moves to get the lines right.

You feel sick to your stomach as you hold Olive close to your chest, patting her back as she scrunches close. Her skin is clean, new, fresh, only eight weeks old. Your eyes are fixated on that little test strip on the counter. You press a kiss to the top of Olive’s head full of dark hair as you sigh. Two lines making tears prick the corner of your eyes. You knew it shouldn’t have happened then, that the two of you were just too focused on how your bodies felt— not your minds. Ten minutes of the sleepiest sex you’ve ever had, set you onto a path of two babies within the year.
You remember Paterson asking if you were okay afterwards, how he ran a bath and promised he’d take care of Olive. He brushed your hair and kissed your head and apologized for letting it get as far as it did. But you were just as much to blame, you apologized too and it hasn’t happened again. But here you are now. You take a deep breath and walk out of the bathroom, placing Olive into her swing just as Paterson walks through the door. Your heart stops as your eyes meet.
He starts to unzip his jacket and hang it on the hook. “There are my girls.” He has a smile on his face, leaning down to give you the softest kiss and a squeeze on your arm. He presses a kiss to the top of Olive’s head before ducking into your shared bedroom to change from his work clothes into something comfortable to wear around the house. Unbuttoning his shirt, he turns the corner into the bathroom. Letting the fabric roll off of his shoulders and then he’s tossing into the hamper, catching sight of the test on the counter. His heart stops as he steps closer, lifting the strip close enough to see the two pink lines clearly. He sucks in a breath, trying to calm those racing thoughts: Olive, your newborn is only eight weeks old. He places the strip back down on the counter, just like he found it. He doesn’t want you to know he’s seen it. You’ll come to him when you’re ready.
When he steps back out of the bedroom, sweatpants hanging low on his waist— white t-shirt covering his chest— you’re sitting on the couch, Olive tucked close to your chest as she nurses. Paterson’s quick to make sure your water cup is full and you’ve got a snack next to you before he’s heating up two portions of lasagna from your stash of premade dinners. He watches you, noting how unusually quiet you’ve been since he’s come in. You’ve never gone a day without asking him how work was.
But you’re lost in your own thoughts, something that you’ve grown used to since Olive’s birth. “Pat?” your voice is quiet, shaky, a quiet trill that seeps in like you’re about to cry. Paterson is quick to notice, walking over to sit down with you.
“Hey
what’s wrong?” He asks softly, reaching over to take Olive when you’re handing her over. He burps her and places her in her swing before he’s gathering you up into his arms.
“Think I’m pregnant.” You whisper and hide your face against his chest. He just rubs your back, holding you comfortingly as you continue to talk. “Olive is still so small and I don’t know what to do
 I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to apologize for.” he says softly, sitting you up to wipe a stray tear off your cheek. He smiles softly as he meets your eyes— hand cradling your cheek. “If anything I should be apologizing. I did it.” he says softly, searching your face for that little crack of a smile you indulge him with. He kisses your forehead, pulling you back against his chest. Your knees are placed on each side of his hips. “I love you and you’re a fantastic mother. You’ve done amazing with Olive. If this is something you want, you’re going to do amazing with them too,” he says softly.
“I
I do want this.” You nod. You think of Olive and how much you love her. How much Paterson loves her. How good he is with her. How you both have begun to find yourselves within parenthood. “I want everything with you.” you whisper, thumbs brushing along his jaw as you pull him into a kiss. His eyes begin to flutter closed, one hand tightening on your hip and the other planting itself on the back of your neck to pull you closer. Your mouths part, heads tipping into each other. Paterson’s tongue chasing yours as you feel like every vein in your body is on fire. Your hips begin digging into his. The thin fabric of the sweatpants he was wearing is doing nothing to mask the erection growing underneath.
He’s not shy about it, dragging your hips against him as he scoots to the edge of the sofa. Hand moving from your neck to wrap around your waist as he stands. “Gotta take my girl to bed, huh?” He whispers, lips pressing a kiss underneath your ear as he begins to carry you to the hall— a quiet squeal of Olive’s name leaving your lips halts him in his tracks. “Go sit in bed for me, yeah? I’ll get her.” He kisses the top of your head, as your feet hit the ground. He steadies you with a hand on your waist, waiting for you to turn and disappear into your bedroom.
You make quick work of stripping down to just your t-shirt. The one that’s hanging on your shoulders by just a thread. It’s old and worn, stained by your breastmilk and dried tears from your eight week old baby. You flip on the lamp, dim light filling your room. You give Tessa, the Afghan hound/Rough collie mix you and Pat had adopted at the beginning of your relationship— who takes up residency at the end of your bed each night, a few little gentle pats on her back ushering her away, promising she can have her spot back later. She stands and stretches, wagging her tail before hopping off the edge of the bed and trotting out to the living room. No doubt to drink some water and lounge on the couch. And just as she’s leaving, Paterson is appearing in the doorframe. “Look at you.” Pat mumbles, kicking the door closed as he steps into the room. He admires the expanse of your thighs, the way your hips have gotten wider since the beginning of your pregnancy. He’s stepping closer, settling one knee on the bed as his eyes dip downward. They rake up over the fabric covering your chest, a hand settling on your hip to pull you closer to him as he settles into place in the middle of the bed. His lips close the gap between the two of you, legs placed out in front of him after he sits against the mattress. His heart is beating so fast in his chest, but the second your hands settle on his shoulders— legs wrapped around his waist— he starts to settle down. He gets comfortable, lets himself relax into the kiss you share. “Sweet girl.” he whispers, hands toying with the hem of your t-shirt. “I love you. Nothing will ever change that, okay?” he says softly, fabric raising and exposing more and more of the skin of your back before he’s tugging the shirt off completely.
You shiver, tugging Paterson’s own t-shirt off of his body. Smiling when it ruffles his hair up. His hands find your chest, cupping your tits gently and he gently brushes his thumbs over your nipples. Your fingers are threading through his hair as he dips his head down, taking your nipple into his mouth. His other hand cups and kneads at your tit, his eyes fluttering closed. He’s so lost in you, so enamored. Your hips are rutting closer to him. Your bare cunt brushing against the growing hard on in his sweatpants. Paterson lets a bit of milk drip down from his chin as he pulls away, rolling down his neck and chest. Your fingers bunch up his hair a bit, bringing him into a kiss. You taste the lingering flavor of sweet sweet almond on his lips, his breathing rapidly increasing as you pull your legs back to raise to your knees just to get his sweatpants off.
And he’s quick to discard them, throwing them towards the floor as your legs settle back down around his waist. His cock standing red and angry between your bodies, he’s pulling you close by your waist. Lifting you just a bit against his chest to slip his free hand under you, teasing at your cunt. His fingers are sliding through your folds, brushing ever so gently against your clit. “So lucky you’re my wife.” he mumbles into the skin of your shoulder, two fingers plunging deep into you for just a second before he’s retracting them and replacing them with his cock. You take him greedily. He can feel your cunt fluttering around him and fuck if it isn’t the sweetest thing he’s ever felt. Every time he gets you in bed like this, he revels in the feeling. Truly loving and present in every single moment. His eyes are closed now, head tilting back just that little bit. He swallows hard. Adam's apple bobbing as he does. And your hips rock with his, clinging to each other's bodies as your arms wrap around his shoulders.
You can’t keep your sounds at bay. The moans, the squeals, the hums. Paterson’s just too big. Settled fully inside of you, he stretches you wide, just the right amount of burning pressure to set your nerves on fire. The ache settled deep in your belly starts to fade away into a building sense of pleasure as your hips begin to move in time with one another. The way he keeps his arm tightly locked around your waist as your ankles stay wrapped around his waist, starts to make you feel hot all over. Paterson’s face buries into the soft space between your neck and shoulder, lips pressed against the skin there— leaving a dark bruise in their wake. His tongue darts out to soothe the skin he’s damaged, his cock settled deeper and deeper inside of you, hitting that spongy spot that starts to make your eyes roll back. “Pat
” your breath comes out in little pants, quiet into Pat’s ear. “I’m gonna cum.”
He’s just about there, feels that coil in his belly begin to wind tighter and tighter. He knows he’ll only last a few more minutes— and not even that long if you keep talking to him like that. When your hands leave his shoulders to press against his chest, trying to find anywhere you can grip. You settle on his biceps as your body begins to shake, thighs convulsing as your head leans against his shoulder. Flashes of white light blind your vision as a pleasurable warmth floods through your veins. And Paterson is right behind you, lifting your hips just a bit to thrust his into you as deeply as he can, painting the inside of your pussy with his spend. His heart is racing just as fast as yours. Chests heaving opposite one another. The sound of your breathing matching the other’s breathing patterns. You look him over, that fucked-dumb smile playing at his lips. You’re so in love with him. You take a deep breath, sucking in enough air to try and regain your strength. You’re pushing him flat against his back on the mattress, laying on his chest with a laugh. Your hand nestled right up against his tummy.
And then he’s laughing, kissing the top of your head. His cock still nestled deep into you. “We’re gonna be alright, mama. Another one’s nothing we can’t handle.”

Drunk Face (A Halstead brothers + Halstead sister! Imagine)
"Bye Y/N," Jay started as he grabbed his last duffle bag from beside the kitchen table. "Make good choices. Don't do anything stupid. Will's on shift tonight, but best believe I will find service if I get a call from him saying you got brought into Med or from a fellow cop saying that you got picked up."
"Jay, relax. I'll be fine. This isn't my first weekend staying home alone by myself," you said.
"Yes, but it's the first time you'll be home alone for the weekend when you're 21. That's what I worry about."
"Who says I didn't drink when I was home alone before I was 21?"
"Excuse me?" Jay asked, setting his duffle back down on the floor.
"I'm kidding. I wouldn't try that with you as my brother. If it was just Will, maybe."
"Nice to know I'm the stricter one."
"Jay, babe," Hailey asked as she walked back into the apartment, "you ready?"
"Yeah, just telling Y/N to make good choices," he replied as he picked up his bag once more.
"No, he just doesn't trust me, that's what this is, Hailey," you said.
"Jay, be nice to Y/N. She's a good kid. She'll be fine," Hailey said and brushed her arm up against Jay.
"She's 21."
"Pretty sure she only drinks seltzers. It's hard to get drunk super fast off of those unless you shotgun them."
"What's that?"
"Nothing!" they both exclaimed.
"Okay, okay. I'll just google it." Jay opened the door and let Hailey out first and then followed her out. "Have fun! Use protection!" you yelled before you closed the door.
"My God," Jay laughed. "You've been spending way too much time with Adam."
"Leave! Make smart choices!" Then, you closed the door behind them for a weekend by yourself.
A few hours later you got home from the liquor store with your premade mango Jose Cuervo margarita. First, you grabbed a lemon-y kind of beer from the mini-fridge where Jay kept all the alcohol. You drank that with your dinner. Then, you turned on your favorite tv show and poured yourself a glass of that mango margarita.
***
God, you didn't even feel that drunk. You had drank a can of that beer and two and a half glasses of that mango margarita...which was about 1/2-2/3 of the bottle...and it was a big bottle.
You walked upstairs to go to the bathroom. You were a little buzzed, but not as bad as one time when you drank a margarita and three white claws. And, you drank those fast and you just fell asleep with a dopey, drunk smile on your face. You were hungover the next day, but you were just tired; you'd never thrown up from drinking before. You just kept your buzz going for a bit.
But, when you sat on the toilet and started going to the bathroom, you felt sweat start to bead on your face. "Aw, shit," you muttered.
You took a deep breath and stood up to wash your hands. As you were standing up, you started to get hot and your stomach started to hurt. The world seemed to spin a bit, too. So, after you washed your hands, you just laid down on the fluffy, light blue rug of the bathroom, breathing in and out slowly and occasionally groaning in pain.
Eventually, you decided to stand up, grab some water, and made your way to your room. Since you were already in your pajamas, you just went right to bed, after all, it was after midnight.
You laid in bed and tried to get the pain in your stomach to stop by changing positions and jamming your knee into your stomach.
Bad plan.
You felt the familiar feeling of a lump rising in your throat. But, you were so tired and buzzed that you hoped this wouldn't happen.
But, then it did, all the alcohol came up and out of your mouth, leaving you with the stale taste of margarita in your mouth and vomit all over your shirt and bedsheets.
God, you thought of just falling asleep right there. But, that was disgusting.
So, you grabbed your phone and made your way to the bathroom. You were still sweating, practically panting at this point while you leaned over the toilet, just trying to keep it down.
This was hell.
This had never happened before...and you had drank the same amount before.
Something was wrong.
Maybe it was the fact you just started a new acne medication a week ago. Yeah, that was probably it. It had to be that, it just had to be.
You heaved and then puked again.
Once you were finished, you grabbed your phone from the bathroom counter. You couldn't call Will. He was on shift and if he had to come, he'd most definitely tell Jay and then he'd never let you stay home alone overnight again.
So, you chose a different number: Kim Burgess.
"C'mon...pick up..." you muttered.
"Hello?"
Shit, that wasn't Kim. It was Adam. Had you called the wrong number? Were they sleeping together? You knew they were basically together, but to find out in this kind of way was kind of weird. Were they--
"Y/N? Hello?" Adam asked again.
"Y/N's calling?" you heard Kim say in the background.
You felt the familiar lump in your throat and puked again.
"Y/N! Are you okay? Are you there?" Adam asked frantically.
"Put it on speaker," you heard Kim say.
"Y/N, you're on speaker. What's going on?"
You wiped your mouth. "I- I drank too much and I'm on a new acne medication and I'm throwing up and I can't call Will because he's working and I don't know what to do," you rushed out before you could puke again. "Can you come over?"
"We'll be right there. Hang tight, kid," Adam said. "Me and Kim are on our way."
"You need us to stay on the phone, Y/N?" Kim asked.
"No, I- I should be fine until you get here."
"Okay, we'll be there soon."
One of the two hung up the phone and you started to feel hot again, but your stomach didn't hurt. And, even though laying on the rug of your bathroom with alcohol-smelling vomit on your shirt wasn't the best idea, you did it anyway because you were so tired.
***
"He's gotta be the stupidest person alive to put his spare key above his door. That's where everyone puts it. Dumbass," Adam said to Kim as they stood outside your apartment door.
"Adam, just open the damn door," Kim told him.
Adam reached the key and unlocked the door. "Alexa, play Drunk Face by Machine Gun Kelly," Adam joked.
"Adam! Not the time!"
Kim started walking around the apartment, trying to find you. "Y/N, where are you? It's Kim and Adam, no one's broken in. It's just us. We're here to help."
"Kim," Adam whispered. He nodded his head towards the bathroom door.
Kim threw herself to the floor and looked through the tiny crack. "She's in there. She's laying down."
Adam immediately went to open the door.
"Shit," he said when he saw you lying there with your eyes closed, vomit all on your shirt.
"Mhm, don't tell Will and Jay," you groaned.
"Oh thank God, she's conscious," Adam said.
"Y/N, can you stand up so we can get you out of these clothes? Maybe take a shower?" Kim suggested.
"Tired," you told her.
"I know, I know you're tired. But we have to get you out of these clothes before you can go to bed," Kim said. You groaned again. "How about Adam goes and grabs you a new shirt and then I help you into the shower. How does that sound?"
"Okay."
"Adam?"
"On it."
When Adam went to your room, he was immediately hit by the smell of vomit. You had planned on washing your sheets once you had cleaned yourself up, but you felt so bad, that you had just left it and figured you'd get to it when you finally got yourself up and out of the bathroom.
He quickly rifled through your dresser and found a t-shirt. Then, he went back upstairs to find the door closed, so he quickly knocked on it.
Kim had helped you take your shirt off and had thrown it in the sink. You were currently standing up, back facing her, as you waited for Adam to come back with your clean t-shirt.
"Babe, I grabbed the shirt. She okay in there?" Adam asked.
"Just about to take a shower," Kim answered. "Hand it to me when I open the door."
Kim opened the door and Adam handed her the shirt and then she handed it to you.
"Am I good to leave here, Y/N? Or do you need help?" Kim asked.
"I'll be fine," you told her. "But please don't tell Jay or Will."
"Y/N, you got drunk and went over your limits everyone does it. It's—"
"Please," you begged.
"Just, take a shower. We'll figure this out later."
"Okay."
Then, Kim left the bathroom and you took a shower.
"She puked on her bed," Adam said.
"She doesn't want us to tell Jay or Will," Kim said at the same time.
"Okay, wait," Adam started, "say yours again."
"She doesn't want us to tell Jay or Will," Kim said.
"Why not? Everyone does it at least once when they first start out drinking."
"I don't know. Maybe she didn't want to disappoint them?"
"Could be. So, do we tell them or not?"
"I mean, she asked us not to, and I don't think we should. She trusts us enough to call us, so I think we shouldn't break that trust."
"I guess you're right. But, we have another problem."
"And what's that?" Kim asked.
"She tossed her cookies on her sheets."
"Shit, okay," Kim sighed.
"Hey, thanks for coming," you said as you walked out of the bathroom five minutes later in clean pajamas. It's not like you had to wash your hair or anything, just your body.
"You're welcome," Kim said. She pulled a chair out from under the kitchen table and sat down. "Honey, Adam saw your sheets when he walked into your room to grab you a shirt. Do you need any help with that?"
"No, I was gonna clean it up and then I puked and I got hot and then I took a shower and—"
"Y/N, it's okay. We know you're exhausted because you just got all sick. So, how about you strip your bed and throw your sheets in the washer and me and Adam will make your bed. How's that sound?"
You nodded. "Thank you guys so much. And, you guys can take the margarita mix if you want. I never wanna taste that stuff again."
"Don't mind if we do."
"Adam!" Kim smacked him on the chest.
"What? Free alcohol."
"God, you're a college kid in a thirty-year-old's body."
"That's right. Now, let's get this college kid to bed."
***
"Ruz, where'd you get this?" Kevin asked when he saw the leftover margarita on Adam's desk that he brought to share with the unit.
"Oh, Y/N gave it to us when me and Kim went over to help her Friday night when she got shitfaced and puked all over," Adam answered casually.
Kim smacked his chest. "Adam!" She glanced over at Jay who was making his way over to them, an angry expression on his face.
"Y/N got shitfaced this weekend?" Jay asked as he crossed his arms over his chest and gave Adam a stern look.
"Well, it wasn't really shitfaced because she was still fully conscious and lucid. She was a bit buzzed, and she puked."
"And you know this how?"
"Jay," Kim started, "she did the right thing. She didn't know what to do, so she called an adult."
"She called both of you?" Jay asked.
"Well, uh, she called me but Adam picked up since we were at my apartment..." Kim trailed off.
"Gotcha," Jay said. "Well, I'm glad you helped her. Thanks for that. But me and Will will definitely be having a conversation with her tonight."
***
"So, how was Wisconsin?" you asked as you, Jay, and Will sat down to eat some paninis you and Jay had cooked up later that night.
"It was great," Jay answered.
"What'd you do?"
"Went on the boat, slept in, jumped off in the lake, Hailey made cinnamon rolls, the usual," Jay answered.
"Do you two remember when you guys had me jump off in the middle of the lake without a life jacket?" you asked.
"Oh, yeah," Will laughed. "We had our asses handed to us by Mom after that."
"We gonna jump off, Will?" Eight-year-old you asked your oldest brother who had just come home from college for summer break.
"Duh," Jay replied. "That's the best part, silly!"
"Yes! That's so much fun!" You grabbed your little life jacket and Jay helped you into the boat because sometimes you'd get scared you'd fall into the water in the space between the boat and the dock.
"When can I drive the boat?" you asked as you sat down next to Jay and Will sat in the captain's chair and started backing the boat out.
"When you're eighteen," Will answered.
"But that's ten years!" you protested. "That's too long!"
"It'll go by fast," Jay promised.
"No, it won't." Jay just laughed at your remark.
Ten minutes later, you were out in the middle of the lake and Will was dropping anchor while Jay set up the ladder.
Once that was all set, Jay jumped off the boat without a life jacket. You followed him, but with a life jacket of course. After a few jumps, you took your life jacket off while you took a sip of your red kool-aid. You didn't have to wear your life jacket unless you were in the water. The boys were currently standing on the boat about to jump off again, but they started whispering amongst the two of them.
"Hey, Y/N," Jay started, "What do you think about jumping off the boat without a life jacket?"
"So, like you Will? Like big kids?" you asked, cocking your head to the side.
"Exactly. Will would be in the water and I'd be up here and you'd just jump to him."
"I dunno. Mom and Dad always told me to wear my life jacket when I jump off. I don't wanna get in trouble."
"You won't."
Will jumped in the water and swam a bit further away than usual so you had room to jump in. "C'mon, Y/N! You've taken swimming lessons, you can do it!" he encouraged.
"I- I dunno, Will. How deep is it?"
"Um," he faltered. "Maybe ten of me?"
There's no way you'd be able to touch that!
"You'll be fine," Jay reassured. "Will will be right there. But, you gotta swim to him."
"He won't catch me? But, what if the water monsters get me and pull me under?"
"There's no water monsters," Jay told you.
But, if the water was as deep as Jay said it was, then how does he know?
"I changed my mind," you said quickly. "I want my life jacket back."
"Y/N, you'll be fine," Jay told you.
"No!" you wailed and reached for your life jacket, but Jay grabbed it and threw it in the water to Will.
"If you want it, you have to get it from Will," he told you."
"No!" your lip started to tremble and tears started to form in your eyes. "You get it!"
"Nope, it's yours. You get it."
"But you threw it!"
"And I'm gonna throw you in!"
You tried to run away, but it was too late. And, where would you go? You were on a boat after all.
"J--" You tried to yell, but you were already flying through the air and into the lake without a life jacket.
You hated the feeling of falling into the water without getting pulled back up immediately because of your life jacket. You had swallowed water, too so that wasn't helpful. You kicked your little legs as hard as you could to get back above the water, and when you did, you coughed and sputtered, trying to get the water out of your mouth and take in some much-needed air.
"Shit, Jay!" you heard Will yell as he quickly swam over to you with your life jacket and grabbed you by the waist. "Why'd you do that?" Then, he turned his attention to you. "It's okay, you're okay. Just breathe. I've got you. I've got you."
He set one hand on your back as you started climbing the ladder and then climbed up after you. Then, he shoved Jay in the water.
"What the hell, man?" Jay exclaimed when he broke the surface.
"Dude, I didn't know you were gonna throw her in! Mom's gonna kill you!"
"No, she's gonna kill us! You just swam there and let it happen!"
"You didn't jump off the boat without a parent there for a long time after that," Jay stated.
"And for good reason! I could've drowned!" you argued.
"Will was there. He would've gotten you."
"That's not the point! And I'm pretty sure that's the same logic Mom used when she took your car keys away from you for the rest of the summer and didn't let Will's girlfriend stay over when she was visiting him."
You ate your food for a bit and then Jay turned to you. "So, Y/N, we need to talk."
You gulped. There's no way Adam and Kim told him what happened! They promised!
"About what?" you asked.
"About you getting drunk on Friday night and calling Kim and Adam because you got sick," Jay explained.
"I don't know what you're--"
"Cut the bullshit. Adam told us in the bullpen today. So, I suggest you explain what happened."
So, you explained because you knew not to argue with Jay when he used that tone.
"Y/N, do you know about proofs on alcohol?" Jay asked.
"No, what are those?"
"It's the amount of alcohol in a drink. For example, seltzers typically have 3-5% alcohol in them, but margaritas like the one you apparently bought that Adam has now, has about 19% alcohol."
You widened your eyes. "So, I can't just go on how many glasses I'm drinking?"
"No way. Why do you think shots come in tiny glasses? Because they have lots of alcohol in a small volume."
"Oh, oops. Sorry."
"Y/N," Will started, "This isn't an oops thing. You could've seriously died from that if you kept drinking." You furrowed your eyebrows. "There's this thing called alcohol poisoning. It's when you drink too much alcohol in a short amount of time, so your body can't filter it in your liver fast enough. And, you just got on a new acne medication, so that's also filtered in your liver. Because of this, your liver's working overtime, which could be why you didn't feel super drunk but still threw up."
"Oh, okay." You knew you sounded dismissive, but you were embarrassed about what you'd done.
"Don't you get that this was dangerous?" Jay asked. "You could've died if you kept going!"
"Jay--"
"No, she needs to know this, Will. If you kept drinking, then you could've gotten seriously sick and had to go to the hospital! That's why bartenders cut people off: so they don't get sick because people can die from alcohol poisoning!"
"I'm sorry, okay! I'm embarrassed because I didn't think I even had that much and I didn't even know what a proof was!"
Jay's eyes softened. "Y/N, we're just trying to protect you. Why do you think we told you all that stuff about not leaving your drink unattended at a bar or watching the bartender make your drink and not just taking it from someone? It's because we're trying to keep you safe, Short Stack."
You nodded. "You're right. I really am sorry. And, you don't have to worry about me drinking a lot until I'm off that medication...or ever really."
Will chuckled. "Yeah, we figured as much."
A/N: I threw a few requests together and this is what I came up with. I wrote this in a day btw. (Also, I did get drunk like this once and I'm pretty sure it was because of the combination of the acne medication and the alcohol. Always drink responsibly and only drink if you're of the legal drinking age.) Anyway, thanks for reading and please reblog/like and comment and tell me what you think! As, always, just tell me if you want to be added to my taglist and I'll add you!

----It's been a long while but I wrote a fanfic
Enjoy! ----
-Fuugen-Intoxicating Moments
The warm sticky air hung heavy in the night making the three traveling companions grateful they were able to pull together some cash to afford some decent lodgings. Fuu was very grateful to be able to sleep without being eaten alive by bugs. The few odd jobs helped them accumulate a small savings before setting off again in the morning.
Mugen arrived at the room with several pots of sake in his arms kicking his sandals off.
“Hey!” Fuu screeched “ we aren’t supposed to be spending money on that!”
“Calm down we have plenty left over.”He rolled his eyes, sitting in the center of The room.
Placing the booze in front of him, he removed his red oversized over shirt. “ it’s our last night here that’s enough of a reason to drink for me. Maybe you should have some too it might make you more tolerable to be around.” He teased popping open the quark of the first bottle.
She huffed watching Jin settle in across from Mugen retrieving a small saucer cup to enjoy some of the sake as well.
In a show of reluctant compliance, Fuu plopped down next to Mugen with a huff.
Grabbing her saucer cup and the neck of the bottle she tipped it over slightly letting the liquid trickle out into the cup.
————————————
The moon hung high as the sounds of crickets and frogs hummed outside.
After a few hours, empty discarded jugs were spewed across the floor. Poor Jin, now propped up against the wall, his head had been spinning and couldn’t keep conscious.
“Damn you two drank up a lot of my booze...Did Jin pass out? Good grief...” Mugen grumbled as he swished around the last jug to hear the half-empty sloshing noise it made before pouring himself another cup.
Fuu swigged back what was left in her cup and let out a dramatic sigh after the liquid slid down her throat. The once burning sensation has long become numbed out with a lot of her mind. All she could feel was how warm her face had gotten.
“ Don’t complain, I worked for that money too! I wanna celebrate~” she slurred reaching for the jug in front of Mugen sloppily pointing herself another drink.
“ Not what I would call a celebration. There’s not even any women here to get things going.” the crude man complained lowering his cup from his lips.
“Well then, what would you call me...” she blurted out glaring over at him.
“Pfft! A plank of wood that’s a pain in my ass.” He cracked without any hesitation.
Fuu’s eyebrow twitched as a thought crept into her mind. “I got it...You just can’t handle a woman like me.” She said in a snooty tone, lifting her drink once more to her lips, sipping half of it down before lazily placing the cup to the side.
“Teh, there’s nothing to handle.” He stated bluntly shooting a look over to her flushed face in time to see her grab at the neck of her kimono revealing the pale skin of her shoulder and collarbone.
“So you’re telling me you’re not a man. “ she challenged with a sly smirk on her face.
“Fuu that’s enough.” Mugen said in a low tone.
Slightly stumbling, the inebriated girl leaned over on her knees. Supporting her weight on her right arm. She reached out with her free hand gently grabbing onto a tuff of wild hair beside his face.
“Awe don’t be scared I don’t bite~” she giggled. Twirling his hair in between her fingers, a sense of pride bloomed as she assumed he was becoming flustered.
In a quick movement, Mugen grabbed her hand from his hair and lunged her back pinning her to the ground with a thud. He towered over her, engulfing her form in his shadow, as a wicked grin came over his lips.
Clutching tighter he looked over her small frame, tracing each detail with his eyes slowly up to her face.
“You know what kind of man I am you little bitch. You should be the one who’s scared.” He growled as his hand shifted from pinning down her arm to clenching around her throat. “Are you really that clueless about what kind of monster I am?”
The quick movement made her head spin. Her eyes looked over his face as her fingertips slid slowly over his scarred knuckles around her neck.
“After all this time, I know exactly who you are...” her voice hitched, sliding her hand to the top of his hand “ I’ve seen you fight, steal, and even kill recklessly..but..” Fuu’s soft fingertips left his hand and softly brushed against Mugen’s stubbled cheek. “But I know you won’t hurt me because we care about each other.” the stubborn girl said with no doubt behind her eyes.
His face couldn’t hide the small shock those words caused. Feeling this soft warm touch brought flashbacks to the blood-soaked riverside and the words from the blind assassin.
“Inside of you looms a simmering storm of hatred and rage. But perhaps what I’m actually sensing is sadness. It’s as if you’ve never once been loved by anyone. It’s as if you’re just like me.”
Memories of this headstrong girl, throwing herself between him and the assassin’s almost killing blow, had been tucked into the back of his mind. Along with the cold upsetting rage of watching Sara die at his hands.
Mugen’s hand loosened, adjusting to rest on Fuu’s collarbone. Feeling the thump of her heart under his palm, he slowly leaned over, gently placing his forehead on hers.
Her heartbeat raced as her finger danced up the side of his prickly face brushing into his hair.
“Mugen..” she whispered feeling his warm breath on her face.
“I can’t take this shit.” He murmured as his dark eyes closed. Hearing his name said so sweetly sent a chill through him. Removing his hand from her heaving chest Mugen got to his feet and swiftly made his way outside.
She laid there for a moment stunned by his reaction. Before she could fully think about what she was doing, she was fixing her kimono, running out the door after him.
“H-hey! What's your deal Mugen?!” she yelled out snatching onto the back end of his shirt.
“My deal?! What about yours? Are you messin’ with me? Your little brain is filled to the brim with sake, it's making it hard for you to think!” He shouted turning towards her.
With watering eyes, Fuu tugged harder at his shirt “Are you an idiot? Are my signals not strong enough to get through that thick skull of yours?!” her voice shuttered as she exhaled.
Mugen stood there silent for a moment studying her face, looking at the reflection of the moon’s light in her eyes. His mind was a buzz with her words but a tugging feeling in his gut held him back. “Look girlie, I’m not here to be your drunken mistake that you end up regretting. You wouldn't look at me with those doe eyes for a second if you were sober..so I’m out of here till you can get your mind back to normal. “ the stubborn man snapped.
With furl brows Fuu pushed Mugen into the support beam of the awning over the walkway. “Listen here mister morals!”She stumbled against him keeping eye contact. “Even when my mind is ‘normal’ I still finding myself looking for you or thinking about you.” her eyes stayed serious as she grasped the neck of his white sleeveless shirt. “I use to think it was because of how much you annoy me. But the more I watched you run off after women with lust in your eyes, I felt this endless clench in my throat that would spread to my chest. I can’t make these feelings stop. I can’t help it...”
Before he could proses what she was saying the girl pushed up on her toes yanking his collar towards herself. Soft lips pressed against his. The warmth of her mouth begging for him to consume her made his head blank out for a moment. His hands raised to his sides before he gave in. Grasping at her shoulders, adjusting himself, he pulled her light body into his chest. Pushing off the post, almost lifting her feet from the ground, he stepped forward shifting the control to him.
The sake taste of his lips was intoxicating on their own. Releasing the shirt her arms slid up around his neck. Feeling his big hands wander over her back as his body pushes against hers made her whole being as warm as her face. As his tongue slipped through her lips her eyes became alert. Fuu had never kissed like this before. Only small peck to childhood crushes. Feeling his experience made her heart thump with excitement as his hands reached and grasped her hips. The blush on her cheeks intensified making her head burn as her eyes narrowed offering her tongue to his.
The wild-haired man’s desire began to boil as he felt her give in to him. A grunt slipped feeling her slick tongue encouraged him. He slowly pulled away looking from her kiss swollen lips to her longing eyes. Mugen’s calloused hands went from her hips to cup her pale face as he pulled his mind together.
“Mugen..p-please...I wanna kiss you more.” Fuu said in a soft whimper. Her mind began to go white as she clung to him trying to keep her focus between his eyes and lips. Her legs were like jelly mostly holding herself up by his neck.
“I’m going to regret this in the morning... I know am... We need to go back to the room.” Mugen groaned placing his hands on her arms putting her back on her feet. Watching her stumble in place he let out a frustrated sigh. In one motion he lifted her into his arms. Without another word, Mugen walked into their room where Jin was still passed out. Squatting down he placed the girl's small frame onto a premade futon. “You need to get some sleep.” He said looking at threw half-lidded eyes.
The moments between being tasting Mugen’s fiery kisses and laying down on the futon were blank in her mind. Seeing him over her with that look sent pain through her heart. As he shifted to stand she reached out grabbing onto his arm. “P-please don’t go... Stay with me.” Her voice was almost a whisper as she tugged at him weakly towards the futon. Fuu's grip slightly clenched looking over his face.
Truthfully he didn’t want to restrain himself. Seeing her in front of him made it harder not to lose all control and devour her leaving his mark and scent throughout every fiber of her being. A small nagging fear kept him in its grasp making his mind reconsider his basic instinct. “Damn it... Fine...” he growled flopping down on his side next to her propping his head on his hand supported by his elbow. “But we are going to sleep...”
Fuu looked him over sliding into him lacing her arms through the triangle opening of his supporting arm and over the other side of his neck. Planting small kisses up his collarbone to his neck, she could feel his blood rushing under her lips warming them with each pump.
Mugen reached over with his free arm pulling out her hair sticks one by one letting the strands fall free under his nose. Her sweet smell mixed with the small impact of each kiss threatened to fog his mind. He looked down at her tossing the hair sticks to the side as their eyes connected.
Fuu lifted her jaw to his, planting a delicate unsure peck on his bottom lip.
Mugen’s free hand found itself running through her hair, as he leaned in closer, holding her lips to his for a moment longer. They slowly broke the kiss pulling back without words.
Her head nestled down in the space between his arm and his chest. The mix of the alcohol and his scent relaxed her mind enough to fall asleep. Her arms went limp retreating to the space between them, feebly grasping at his shirt to make sure he didn’t leave.
Watching her chest softly rise and fall as she slept lulled his tired mind to sleep soon after her.
—————————————
Day brake began to creep in as the outside creatures began to wake. Jin’s head throbbed as he made it to his feet completely out of it. The hungover samurai left the room to make his way to the public bathhouse to freshen up before they would have to continue their journey.
Mugen hadn’t moved all night keeping his back to the door as he listened to Jin leave. Hearing the door close he leaned a bit to peak over his shoulder.
A small lazy hand lifted touching his face turning his attention back to the half-sleeping girl next to him. “M-Mugen..” a faint breath escaped her lips as her eyes stayed closed.
He let out a huff before adjusting himself to a more comfortable position. Wrapping his arms around her, he held her close to his chest feeling her give in to him. Feeling the warmth of her body snuggle on him, their breath sank together as they fell back asleep.

The Cafe Pt.I (Rewritten Barista)
As promised, I’m working through finishing my unfinished series - and that includes the Barista AU I had written long ago. I decided it was best to rewrite it considering the first part was originally published 200+ days ago. I’m aiming for 3 parts for this “one-shot AU” but we’ll see where it goes. Please be patient with me - my academic course load is extremely heavy and finding time to write is difficult but I will finish everything I said I would. I’m actually pretty proud of this but if it flops I never wrote it :)
Pairing: Kamilah x MC (Amy)
Word Count: 4505 words I’m shocked (I usually get to about 1600-2000 words)
Taglist: I’m not tagging anyone until I know people want to be tagged for this because I’m nervous and I hate being annoying!!!! If you want to be tagged for a specific pairing please let me know - I’ll try to keep track and remember to actually tag because I’m a forgetful dumbass!
Amy groggily rolled over in her bed, the amount of sleep she was getting had become oddly suspicious because she would never be able to get up before 7 on her own. She rubbed her face gently, her sheets warm and smooth against her skin. She grabbed her phone from the nightstand, her eyes widening in shock as she read the time on the screen.
Monday March 30 5:40 am
“Fucking hell I thought I set an alarm!” Amy groaned as she threw the sheets to the side, huffing as she opened the clock app to see, she in fact, did not set an alarm. She sighed, shaking her head as she rushed to the bathroom.
“Damn it Amy...you need this job
”
She texted Zig, a mutual friend of Emily Day who introduced them their freshman year of college at Hartfeld before Amy had transferred to Belviore University in New York. Zig graduated and moved to New York and opened a small cafe, only a few years later.
Zig, I’m going to be late. I missed my alarm this morning. I swear I’ll stay for closing and I won’t be late tomorrow.
LMAO, Amy if you didn’t set an alarm just say that, I had a feeling this would happen so I told you we opened an hour before we actually do. We don’t open until 7 on Mondays, just Tuesdays-Fridays.
I am literally going to murder you 0_0. You should prepare to be launched into outer space for this crime.
Lol I look forward to it - see you at 7.
Amy turned on the shower, as she grabbed a towel and her shower products from the cabinet, placing them beside the shower door. She discarded her clothes, put her shower playlist on, hopped into the shower and felt a wave of relief that she didn’t blow her first day. After Amy had performed her world tour, she stepped out of the shower with a shiver, the cool air a contrast to her very hot skin. She wrapped herself in the fuzzy towel, briefly glancing at the time, 6:02. She walked out of the bathroom, dropping the towel onto the floor as she opened her closet while she scanned her options for a “casual” outfit that would suffice. She put on her favorite bra and underwear, something about the red lingerie made her feel confident, before she slipped into a pair of dark blue denim skinny jeans. She paired the pants with a black t-shirt as she smiled at herself in the mirror.
“Not bad Amy, not bad at all.”
She walked over to her small vanity, one she had built with her father as a teenager over the summer before she left for college. It was one of her most prized possessions, one of the only things she had to remind her of him before he disappeared without a trace. She closed her eyes, recalling the memory fondly before she began to apply a small amount of makeup, just enough to hide her tiredness from the public. She stood from the desk, pleased with her appearance as she made her way to the small apartment kitchen. The empty beer bottles and ps4 controllers cluttered the kitchen as Amy smiled, having remembered celebrating the job with her suitemate Lily. She threw the bottles away and plugged the remotes in for a charge, Lily would thank her for that later. She opened the freezer, making herself two premade waffles as she checked her social media. It might have partially been the exhaustion but those waffles were the best Amy ever had, she wiped her mouth clean and grabbed her bag from the nearby chair. She shot a brief text to Lily, to let her know she hadn’t been kidnapped.
Morning Lily! I went to the cafe for work, just so you don’t end up thinking I got myself kidnapped. Love you, see you tonight! Try not to drink all of the alcohol.
Amy followed Zig’s text directions through the streets of the city, the bustle of traffic, the mass of pedestrians and the loud construction noises distracting Amy from her path. Amy had never really been in New York’s financial district before, the other civilians' appearances shifting from “Naked Cowboy of Times Square” to “Businessman” only a few streets apart. She glanced at her phone as it instructed her to take a right.
“Oof-”
Amy jolted at the scalding hot coffee that was hot on her skin, her head turning to meet a woman’s irritated gaze, taking note of the coffee cup that was in her hands. She was dressed like all the other businessmen and women who passed by - her maroon suit now covered in coffee as she huffed in annoyance. Amy met her deep brown eyes that burned right through her, her whole body freezing up as she watched the woman’s lips move. Amy stood in a daze, only coming back to herself when the woman waved her hand in front of her, her face filled with exasperation.
“I’m so sorry. It’s my first day and I’m kind of lost-”
“Watch where you’re going, this suit is probably worth more than you.” Her voice was silky and satisfying, and oddly soothing given the fact she had probably just stained a $2,000 suit. Amy rushed to open her wallet, holding out a wet 50$ to the woman. The business woman scoffed as she walked away, leaving Amy in a confused state outside of the cafe.
“Fuck.” Amy sighed, moving to collect her bag as she walked through the cafe door, Zig raised his eyebrows at her as she made her way behind the counter.
“Well that’s a look.” He jested, Amy turning her head and giving him a death glare as he tossed an apron to her. “Nobody will notice, you can cover it with this. There’s paper towels in the back.” Amy dropped her bag in the break room, gently wiping the coffee away and putting the surprisingly fashionable apron on. When she walked out from the back her jaw dropped as she spotted the woman from earlier standing on the other side of the counter. Their eyes met and the woman’s gaze quickly changed from annoyed to very annoyed at the sight of Amy.
“Kamilah, you’re back. Wanted to pick up some date-nut pinwheels?”
“No, I need another black coffee.” She turned back to Zig with a smile, he gave a small nod as Amy began to brew the coffee for her. She placed the lid carefully onto the fresh cup and handed it out to the woman, their fingers brushing for a moment, a blush creeping onto Amy’s cheeks.
“Thank you.” Her tone was less aggressive than it had been in their first encounter, Amy finally calm enough to take note of the woman’s features. Her brown silky hair that looked like it belonged in a conditioner commercial, her defined jawline and subtle eyeshadow that accentuated her eyes. She watched the way her lips moved as she talked to Zig, Amy feeling her heart jump at the sound of her laugh - light and golden. Amy watched her leave, every step she took she took with such confidence that Amy found herself wanting to follow her out the door.
“You could be less obvious, you know?” Zig playfully nudged Amy, nearly knocking her over as she shook her head in denial.
“No! I wasn’t!” Amy sighed as she rubbed her temples, Zig’s infectious laugh filling the empty cafe. Amy playfully punched his shoulder as a group of well dressed men stepped through the threshold, Amy moving behind the register to take their orders. The day passed, Amy learning how oddly specific some people like their coffee, and learning all of Zig’s secrets to the perfect iced coffee. Amy looked at the clock as Zig walked to lock the front door - finally closing time.
“Some of these orders...like ‘I’ll have the grande iced mocha no foam soy hexagon vortex hypotenuse’” Amy waved her hands around as Zig tried to contain a laugh, wiping down the counter as Amy hung her apron up.
“Amy you’re horrible.” Zig made a good attempt at seriousness, their eyes meeting before they continued to laugh which made closing pass by much faster. Zig grabbed the mass of leftover desserts from their respective containers, hovering them over the garbage before Amy stopped him.
“Oh, did you want these?”
“No, but I can find a better place for them than the trash.”
“Where? Your stomach?”
“No, the food bank is on the route back to my apartment. We shouldn’t be wasteful, and besides - who wouldn’t love a raspberry crown?”
“You’ve got a point. I’ll bag these for you then, if you could sweep the floor and put the chairs on the tables that’d be great.”
When all the cleaning and closing procedures were done Amy headed for the door with her bag in hand, Zig gently tapping her shoulder and holding out an envelope, a key to the cafe and the bag of desserts.
“Okay so I know what’s in here but what is this? A resignation letter?” Amy pouted her bottom lip as Zig rolled his eyes so far back Amy wasn’t sure if they’d come back.
“It’s your share of the tips from today, and the wrapped pastries. Thanks for that suggestion by the way, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that myself.” Zig rubbed the back of his neck as he looked around the pristine cafe, the windows reflecting the moonlight and the tile shimmering as if it were just installed. “Bloody hell, the place looks good...no great. Thank you Amy. Come on let's get outta here, go home - I’ll see you tomorrow at 6. Actually, let me make sure you set 3 different alarms, give me your phone.” Zig held out his hand after he locked the front door, Amy reluctantly handing her iphone over as he set 3 different alarms, all 5 minutes apart. He looked up at her for a moment, smirking before handing her phone back to her and walking off into the city. Amy rolled her eyes, he probably took a selfie on her camera but when she went to check, there was nothing but memes and occasional group photos -what did Zig smirk at then? Amy was too tired to think of it, she made a swift beeline to the food bank, opening the doors and dropping the brown bag of desserts off before making her trip back to the apartment.
The door opened with a creak, all of the lights turned off as Amy carefully navigated to her room. She switched her lamp on, letting it provide a dim light that didn’t blind Amy because of its intensity. She tossed her bag onto the bed, as she pulled her shirt over her head in one rapid motion. She desperately stripped, throwing her dirty clothes into the laundry basket as she changed into clean lingerie. She slipped into her favorite pair of pajama shorts and pulling her favorite hoodie over her bra - shirts were overrated anyways. Amy crawled onto her bed, crossing her legs while she put her headphones on, pulling up her favorite late-night playlist and letting the slowed music soothe her. She caught a glance at the envelope Zig had given her, she reached over for it and opened it carefully - baffled at the amount of cash laying inside. She slowly laid each bill out, counting the total twice to make sure she hadn’t miscalculated. Working at a cafe in New York’s financial district was definitely going to help her and Lily catch up on their rent and not get evicted. She smiled, tucking away 25% for herself, taking enough for her share of the rent and putting the rest into her locked safe - she’d been saving for a trip to Hawaii since she graduated. She stifled a yawn, closing the safe and tucking herself back into her warm sheets, taking her headphones off and closing her eyes for the night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The alarm woke Amy up with it’s loud and very obnoxious beeping, Amy wanting nothing more than to throw the phone into the thermosphere. She drowsily stood from her bed, gently tucking the sheets neatly back into place as she turned off the following alarms. She sighed, rubbing her head as she changed into a simple outfit and left out the door to the cafe.
Amy arrived at the cafe, unlocked the front door and turned the lights on, relocking the door behind her because she didn’t need anyone startling her. She moved behind the counter, dropping her bag in the lounge and putting an apron on. She checked the coffee filters, gave the blenders a good washing, set out creamer, sugar and other coffee essentials on the counter and filled supplies back up. Zig suddenly walked through the door, a smile on his face as Amy finished supplying the countertop and putting the pastries out on display, letting Zig prepare himself for opening.
“You’re early. I’m shocked. College Amy is having a stroke right now.” Amy knocked him in the side, Zig falling back a few steps as he shook his head and put his hands in the air in surrender. “Alright alright no need for violence, come on, let’s open.” Zig turned the “open” sign on and only a minute later did Kamilah appear in the cafe, her suit perfectly fitted, her hair smoothly cascading around her head and down her shoulders and her face relaxed and composed.
“Good morning Kamilah, what can I get for you?” Zig gestured to the display of desserts and the variety of coffee combinations on the menu above their heads. Kamilah smiling as Zig waved his hands back and forth, Kamilah letting out a soft chuckle.
“Just a large black coffee and maybe a date-nut pinwheel.” Kamilah spoke to Zig in almost a tender way, as if they were siblings or long-term friends. Amy selected a pinwheel, gently placing it into a small bag and sliding it over the counter towards Kamilah as she began to brew the coffee.
“How’s Ahmanet Financial?” Zig leaned over the counter, his defined arms nearly breaking through the sleeves of his white shirt. Kamilah tucked the pinwheel bag into a hidden pocket on the inside of her blazer before she turned back to face Zig.
“It’s very successful, our stocks are soaring and we just secured a new business partner.” Kamilah looked proud and for good reason - Ahmanet financial was one of the most powerful corporations out there. Amy topped her coffee off with a lid and handed it to her, their eyes meeting for a moment before Amy turned away, feeling her cheeks turning hot. Kamilah checked her watch, a movado 47 rose gold watch that cost way more than anything Amy had ever come close to owning. “Zig I’d love to chat some other day but I’m afraid I’ll be late if I don’t leave now.”
She quickly made her way out the door, the bell ringing softly as Kamilah strided away. Amy leaned over the counter with a sigh, Zig nudging her softly.
“You could be less obvious Amy,” his annoying face smirking at Amy as she rolled her eyes, “you used to be so slick back in college.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Amy threw an empty coffee cup at him as a blonde girl walked into the cafe, her eyes glued to her phone as she recited her order at a rate that nobody could understand. Amy sighed, Zig giving her a pained glance as she went to mix the complicated coffee order. Amy fought back a laugh as Zig found a way to run away to the back when the girl asked for his phone number. Once Amy finished mixing her coffee and sent her out the cafe doors Zig poked his head out of the lounge - his eyes scanning for her.
“Is she gone?” Amy snorted as Zig stepped out from the doorway, his hands running through his hair as he let his shoulders relax. “My god I hate teenagers - they turn eighteen and all of a sudden think they can fuck anyone. I’m like 5 years older than her at least!”
“Relax buddy, let’s just get through the rest of the day. I’ll handle all the teenage brats and you can handle all the nasty men.” Amy gave him a cheeky grin as they teamwork-ed their way through the rest of the day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Finally.” Amy rested the broom on the wall, taking in the pristine cafe as Zig finished wiping down the counters. “What a day.”
“Thank god it’s over.”
“Zig?”
“Yeah?”
“Does Kamilah always come by the cafe right when we open?”
Zig perked his head up, his brows raised to the top of his head as Amy felt a blush creep up her cheeks, her hands growing sweaty as Zig remained silent.
“She always comes as soon as we open, she has to be at work early since she is the CEO. Although she never rests, despite everything I’ve told her.” Zig’s head shot to his phone as it buzzed, a text from Emily appearing on the screen and Zig hastily typed away.
“Everything okay Zig?” Amy had a worried expression on her face as Zig let out a long sigh.
“There’s a road trip for Kaitlyn’s band that leaves in two days that lasts for a week that our group is going on and I can’t go because I need to run the cafe-”
“I can handle it for a week.” Amy spoke firmly, Zig’s eyes widening before he let out a chuckle.
“What if you burn it down?”
“I won’t but then I guess you just have to trust me. Come on Zig - you need a break and you damn well know it. Get out of here for a week.”
“I hate that you’re right. Fine, but if the cafe isn’t standing when I get back, you’re toast.” They both laughed and finished up closing.
Amy walked towards the food bank, a brisk breeze prompting her to make it one speedy trip so she could bask in her heated apartment. A shriek came from the alley as Amy turned her gaze to see where the yell had come from, a red pair of eyes looking right at her in the darkness. She felt her heart beating out of her chest as she forced her feet to a run, her heart pounding like a drum and ringing in her ears as she huffed through the front doors of the bank - placing the bag on the counter and racing back to her apartment without turning back.
“Hey girl how was-” Lily sat on the couch with a coke in her hand and the television remote in the other, her smile fading as she met Amy’s eyes. “Amy, what’s wrong? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost
”
“I think I’m just hallucinating from exhaustion,” Amy dropped her bag on the floor and took a seat on the couch beside Lily, “anyways tell me about you. We haven’t really had time since we both started working more.”
“Well you should sleep soon but I think we’ll be able to hold the rent for the next few months - with all the money you’re bringing in now in addition to the money my app has started to bring in - I think we’ll be more than fine.” Lily nudged her shoulder, offering Amy a can of coke with a smile as The Vampire Diaries played on the TV.
“Vampires are so overrated.” Amy groaned as she watched Lily’s eyes become glued to the screen.
“Some of us have taste you know.”
“No, it’s because they’re not real Lily, and the fact that no vampire would ever be attracted to me.”
Lily rolled her eyes as Amy sipped on her coke, both of them laughing late into the night and being good friends in what had felt like a long time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amy unlocked the cafe doors and shuffled inside, locking the door behind her and leaving her bag on the counter. She hit the light switch as the lights slowly came flickering on as she tied the apron around the back of her neck. She quickly started and finished the morning set-up, the routine becoming second nature since Amy had always been a fast learner. She checked her phone, 6:49 am April 1, 2020.
“April fools day.” Amy smiled as she contemplated setting up a whipped cream prank on Zig, but decided not to against her deepest desire to see his shocked face. While thinking of ways to mess with Zig through the day, her mind came to test a theory - she began preparing two black coffees - before adding her own twists to one of them. Amy finished and admired her handiwork - the cups looked identical and Kamilah wouldn’t notice until she tasted it.
Kamilah walked in, her eyes scanning the cafe for Zig as she took a cautious step towards Amy who had a cute little grin on her face.
“Good morning Kamilah, here’s your coffee.” Amy handed her a black coffee, the one she had adjusted ever so slightly. She watched as Kamilah brought the cup to her lips, almost taking a sip, before she lowered the cup and leaned her face closer to Amy.
“What did you do to it? It smells different, and where’s Zig?” Kamilah arched a brow as Amy silently wondered how Kamilah could smell the difference.
“I took a twist with it, I made you your regular too in case you hate it...I just thought you should broaden your horizons
and Zig is coming. He just needs to pack, he’ll be gone after today for a week and I’ll be running the cafe.” Amy smiled softly at the woman who was now leaning dangerously close.
“I see. And if I hate it?”
“Then I’ll pay for both and I’ll never try to broaden your horizons again
” Amy frowned slightly as Kamilah finally sipped on the drink - her brown eyes widening as she took another, and another.
“It’s...actually pretty good...what did you do to it?” Kamilah took another sip as Amy bounced on her heels, a wide childish grin written across her face.
“I added a bit of cream and sugar and a bit of caramel! It’s how I like mine!” Amy took her hands behind her back and fiddled with them nervously as Kamilah smiled. Zig walked in just as the clock read 8:05 am and Kamilah left, turning at the door to smile at Amy one last time, lifting the cup up with a smile before entering her car.
“What’s that smile about Amy?” Zig wagged his fingers at Amy with a classic smirk as he prepared for the shift, Amy resting her head on both of her hands while she leaned over the counter - her legs kicking out behind her.
“Nothing.” Amy sighed and went back to brewing coffee, her hands aimlessly performing while her mind sat on nothing but the thought of Kamilah - and her damned perfect smile.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amy tossed her shoes off as she made her way through the apartment door, one shoe nearly knocking Lily’s head off as she pulled freshly fried chicken from the air fryer.
“Lily that smells AMAZING!” Amy squealed and made her way over to her, Lily slapping her hand away as she finished the two plates of waffles off with a chicken breast and syrup. “I swear I’ve got the best best friend
” Lily smiled as they both dug into the food, chatting away about their day until Amy let it slip out.
“And there’s this really hot customer-”
“Oh! Spill!” Lily wiggled in her seat like a child, eagerly waiting for Amy to elaborate as Amy stuffed her face with the rest of her waffles. “I’ll wait for you to finish.” Lily smirked and held Amy in an uncomfortable eye contact until Amy finally caved in.
“She comes in at opening time every single day, and always orders a black coffee. Although I got her to try something new today which I’m really proud of.” The subtle smile that crept up Amy’s face gave it all away to Lily as she let her ramble on, whilst she gave Amy the smirk she hated. “I’m simping aren’t I?”
“There’s nothing wrong with simping. But you have a chance here because Zig won’t be there so you can actually like...take your shot without him ever having to know,” Lily winked and whispered, “and you could totally fuck her in the back-”
“NOPE!” Amy stood up frantically, Lily holding her sides for support and nearly falling out of her chair as Amy rushed to clear her plate. “I hate you! Ohmygoddddddd.” Amy groaned as Lily fell to the floor, her eyes wet with tears at Amy’s reaction more than anything else.
“I’m going to bed!!”
“Goodnight! Love you Ames!!!”
“Love you too
.annoying ass!”
Amy snorted as she changed into her sleepwear, her body becoming exhausted as she hit the mattress, falling asleep ridiculously fast.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Kamilah came through the door, right on time as Amy had come to expect. Amy gazed up from her phone, those dark brown eyes looking right at her as she handed Kamilah her usual black coffee, Kamilah holding it closely before clearing her throat.
“Can I have the one from yesterday as well?” Amy smiled at her as she began to mix her favorite coffee - Kamilah leaning over the counter to observe.
“I didn’t think you’d want it again.” Amy said as she added creamer to the mix, the coffee turning golden as she mixed it.
“A woman can’t appreciate a little variety in her life?” Kamilah leaned against the counter, her hair smoothly gliding over her maroon blazer as she tossed it back - taking a sip from her cup.
“No I just-” Amy topped the cup off with a bit of caramel before enclosing it with the lid, her hands sweaty as she handed it to Kamilah.
“You just?”
“Thought you’d always like your coffee like your personality.”
“Whatever do you mean by that?”
The way Kamilah was looking at Amy, she knew she had to choose her next words carefully.
“Dark, intimidating, a bit bitter at first sip,” Amy hesitated as Kamilah raised a brow, “an...acquired taste.”
“You’re intimidated by me?”
“Just a little
”
“Hmm, I suppose your coffee is like you if you want to expand your little analogy.” Kamilah glanced at her watch, her expression shifting from playful to work-oriented. Amy felt her heart drop a little as she recomposed herself - back to her refined and disciplined self. Kamilah made her way to the door, the two cups of coffee in her hands as she paused, turning back and looking at Amy - something different about it.
“It’s...sweet and comforting,” her voice was soft as she spoke, Amy’s cheeks turning very red, “like you.”

🎄The Twelve Days of Promptmas🎄 - Day Four
concepts: holiday smut
dialogue: all I want for Christmas is you.” “You’re Jewish?” “So?”
The sequel to the dirty talk fic, but make it ~festive~
❆❆❆
i.
“Good moooorning.”
Peter’s voice is gentle, almost singing against her bare skin as his lips trail kisses along her shoulder.
Michelle shifts, grumbling at the soft, dragging touches.
Still, he persists, his breath tickling. “Wake up.”
And as annoyed as she is for being woken up, she can’t help but smile as he snuggles against her, his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling her close. “Too early
” She mumbles sleepily into the pillow, nestling further into the blankets.
Peter huffs out a laugh, his lips pausing momentarily over the strap of her tank top before he keeps going. “Didn’t you wanna go to shopping today? For the party?” He reasons, though MJ knows for a fact that the purpose in all of this isn’t to get the two of them out of bed, per se.
No, his intentions are perfectly clear.
“Not at—” She barely cranes her head up, glancing at her phone on the bedside table. “—nine in the morning.”
“Wow, so early,” he mumbles against her skin.
Her expression contorts when he finds a particularly ticklish spot on her neck, half-heartedly warning him as she tries to twist away from his mouth. “Hey.”
“What?” He chuckles, cuddling closer, arms locking around her, pressing his cheek into her shoulder blade as he gives her a loving squeeze. “Does that tickle?”
He knows the answer already, the little shit, and she can’t help but lightly smack his arm in response.
He laughs again, a sound that makes a comforting warmth bloom in her chest. It’s good that he can’t see her face, that his is burrowing into her shoulder, to see the light smile tugging at her lips, the way her eyes close again as she breathes out a contented sigh.
Though, his touches soon turn less than innocent, and he’s whispering filthy nothings into her ear as his hands shamelessly roam her body, as he presses his hardness against her. While some of what he says is of the highest quality—he’s actually great at dirty talk when he wants to be—there’s always that one line he has to sneak in there.
Sure, “I have a big present for you,” as he pokes her in the back of thigh with his morning wood isn’t necessarily groundbreaking, or his worst yet, but it’s still enough to coax a slightly undignified snort out of her.
Finally, she turns over to face him, eyeing him carefully, a single brow raised. “Oh really?”
Peter nods, his bottom lip caught between his teeth. “I sure do.”
“Of course.” Her tongue presses against the inside of her cheek as she fights the urge to roll her eyes and laugh.
When she doesn’t say anything else he nudges her. “Are you not gonna ask what it is?”
“I think I have a pretty good idea—” She glances down. “—It’s either an actual present
or, if I know you well enough, which unfortunately, I do—” She meets his gaze again. “It’s your dick.”
“Bingo.” He throws in a wink for good measure.
“I thought I already got that present, though?” MJ asks, trying to stay casual. “Eight nights in a row?”
“That was for me,” Peter insists. “This—” He bites is his lip, pressing himself against her again. “Is for you. You can even have it early. As a treat.”
She can’t help but laugh as he leans in to kiss her, pressing her palm against his chest to keep him away. “Not supposed to open anything till Christmas. Come on, man, you know the rules.”
“Good thing I’m not wrapping it.”
The double meaning gets another snort out of her, and she playfully dodges him again as his lips press into the corner of her mouth. “Peter—”
“I can put a little bow on it if you want?”
All she can do is shake her head in response and pray that she can suppress her laugh for just a second longer. “I swear
 To God.”
“Love you, too,” he grins, leaning in to kiss her fully this time.
But once again, she stops him, scooting away from him. “Wait, no. Morning breath.”
Peter pauses, his hand lingering on her waist, lip caught in his teeth in thought. She has a point there, at least she sees him thinking it through. He shrugs. “I mean, there’s doggy
 reverse cowgirl
 deck the halls.”
“Deck the halls?” Michelle’s brow furrows in confusion.
“I’ll deck your halls with my boughs of holly,” he winks again.
“That’s not even a position, you just wanted to make a joke,” she playfully pushes him.
He shrugs.
Does she hate him?
Who knows?
Is this turning her on still, as stupid as it is?
Maybe.
“Now, come on,” he says, patting his legs, inviting her to climb onto his lap. “Hop on.”
“So romantic,” she deadpans with a quirk of her brow.
But does that mean she’s giving in so soon?
Absolutely not.
Some restraint and discipline would be good for them both.
They have things to do today.
Namely, getting ready for Flash’s big holiday bash tonight.
“Maybe later, okay?” A knowing, sly grin stretches across her face as she pats him twice on the cheek, climbing up from the bed before he can protest.
He huffs out a laugh, looking up at her with borderline pleading eyes. So innocent a look for so definitely not-innocent a request. “Please?”
“Nuh uh,” she says as she starts rifling through her dresser. She makes a show of getting dressed, slowly peeling her tank top off. He grins, his eyes instantly taking in the sight of her bare chest, before she’s tossing the shirt at him. He catches it easily, his gaze never leaving hers.
“We have to go shopping.”
ii.
Why she thought it was ever a good idea to let Peter peruse the holiday section of the local Michael’s with her, she has no idea.
Especially when he’s in the mood he’s been in all morning—for the entirety of their relationship, really.
One minute, he’s by her side, holding out different festive candles for her to smell as she looks at the different coffee mugs and tea sets, and the next he’s throwing her a wink and a subtle kiss as he points at a sign that says fall on your knees.
He seems especially thirsty today, for some reason—though she would argue that Peter never really needs a reason to try and seduce her with his own brand of dirty talk, however horrible it may be, however it makes her blink unimpressed at him, however it makes her laugh until her sides hurt.
While it had all started as something kept strictly to the confines of their bedroom, more and more, it’s started to bleed into their everyday conversation. And every time, it has the same effect on her. She’ll stare at him, slow-blinking, lips twitching as she tries to suppress a smile.
And, she’d be lying if she said that no matter how cringey some of his lines are
damn it, they kind of work. She’s too attracted to him as a whole for them not to.
“MJ.”
She hears his voice on the other end of the aisle. Insistent, a self-indulgent chuckle hiding under his tone.
Her lips press into a thin line as she pointedly ignores him, continuing to browse the different tea towels.
“MJ,” he says again, louder this time. Childish, even.
Still, she doesn’t look at him, shaking her head as she purses her lips.
“MJ!”
His voice is suddenly right next to her, and she jumps, turning to see him holding up one of those weird Elf on the Shelf dolls.
“What?” She hisses.
There’s that damn, stupid grin on his face as he pokes the felt figurine, his bottom lip caught between his teeth when she narrows her eyes. “When I think about you, I touch my elf.”
And as usual, it takes everything not to smile. She bites the inside of her cheek. “You’re an idiot.”
His smile widens to levels of supreme dopiness. “I’m your idiot,” he says with all the affection in the world.
“Unfortunately,” she shakes her head, huffing, though she can’t help the way her lips curve into a smile, the way her face warms. And for a moment, she thinks he’s done. He’s had his fun. He’s made her smile.
“Wanna cradle my dreidel?” He asks under his breath, his hand dangerously low on her back.
The sudden snort of laughter she lets out startles some poor old lady on the other end of the aisle.
iii.
If she thinks she’s free the minute she gets back to the apartment, she’s sorely mistaken. Okay, maybe not sorely, per se. But she is very much mistaken.
It’s again, as they’re deciding what dish to bring to Flash’s holiday get together later in the evening, rifling through their pantry and fridge in search of any usable ingredients.
“We’ve still got these pie shell things,” Peter says, holding up the box of premade pie crust from the freezer. “Pie’s are always nice. For holidays and what not.”
Ah, yes. The ones they forgot to bring to May’s for Thanksgiving—making them have to run to the store on a major holiday for something that was pretty much already sold out. Perfect.
“Great. A pie’s good,” MJ says, feeling a sense of relief that they don’t necessarily have to leave the apartment again. At least until tonight. “What kind do you think?”
Peter looks up, titling his head as his lips twist in though. But then, his gaze flits to her briefly.
“I’ve always liked creampies.”
This time she might actually hit him.
iv.
She’s just pulled her sweater on over her head when Peter walks into the bedroom, his eyes instantly drinking her in, from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. His appreciative gaze sets a warmth in her stomach and chest, and she bites back her smile as she pushes her hair over her shoulder, tucking an errant curl behind her ear.
His smile is is bright, and his eyes meet hers in the mirror as he comes to stand behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist as he murmurs into her hair, “God, can’t wait to hurry down your chimney tonight.”
And to think she’d started to lean into him. She scoffs, smacking his arm gently. “Shut up.”
“Seriously,” he says, a laugh under his tone as he steps back. His hand lingers though, falling to play with the hem of her black skirt, gently brushing her thigh through her black tights. “You look really pretty. Easily one of my top favorite outfits.” He pauses, tilting his head in thought. “Besides nothing. You should wear nothing more often.”
“Note taken,” she says, nodding slowly, holding herself together—at least attempting to.
“And honestly,” He muses. “I think taking this off—” he tugs at the sweater, his voice lowering. “—would really elevate the look. You know what? The skirt too.”
She quirks a brow at him in the mirror, though there’s nothing she can do to prevent her smile from widening. “Oh, so I should just
 take my clothes off?”
“Let me be perfectly clear,” he replies, trying to be serious, his hands holding her waist, dropping to her hips and giving a tempting squeeze. “You should always be taking your clothes off.”
It’s amazing how this idiot can make her feel so lightheaded, how he can make her entire body feel that blurry warmth. It’s him, clearly it is, because she’s not sure she’d ever take that kind of shit from any of her other past relationships.
Peter’s just Peter.
“Keep it in your pants, Parker,” she teases when he tugs her closer, her back against his chest. She knows what he’s doing; exactly what.
And again, it’s not going to work.
Unlike him, she has a sense of self-control.
No matter how hot her boyfriend is.
His laugh causes her stomach to flip pleasantly. “But, baby, all I want for Christmas is you.”
“You’re Jewish?”
“So?”
She turns in his arms, facing him now, her palms pressing into his chest. “Also it’s not Christmas yet?”
“Christmas eve is pretty much Christmas.”
She blinks.
“Where’s your sense of imagination? Your holiday spirit?” He asks earnestly, squeezing her gently. “Now what do you want? Naughty? Or Nice?” His face lights up. “Oo! Both.”
It’s a wonder her eyes don’t roll out of her head and onto the floor, or that her cheeks fall off from how hard she’s trying not to smile. She ignores the conversation. “We’re gonna be late to Flash’s. Come on.”
“Eh, I think there’s time.” Peter’s hand falls to hers, locking their fingers together as he pulls her close, his lips finding his favorite spot on her neck easily.
In spite of the ticking clock in her mind, she closes her eyes, sighing softly at the feeling of his soft kisses pressing into her skin.
“Flavortown has holiday hours right?”
And it’s the wicked grin on his face when he pulls back to look at her that causes her to snap back to reality. She laughs, her body practically screaming in protest as she steps fully away from him and out of his warmth.
v.
The whole car ride to Flash’s feels like an eternity, given the lack of time for a pre-party quickie back at the apartment. Peter’s hand stays on her thigh, the other on the wheel, and it’s clear that he’s not paying all that much attention when he stalls at one or two red lights, startling when there’s a chorus of honking from behind them.
Though it’s a seemingly innocent touch—he never ascends past the hemline of her skirt—it still burns her skin through the thin material of her tights. It still causes her mind to go places where it really shouldn’t go while he’s driving, while they’re on their way to a friend’s holiday party. All day, it’s been a constant game between them, and at first, MJ had assumed that she had the upper hand.
Now, however, she’s not sure.
She’s tried her best to ignore his dumb jokes mingled with legitimate propositions, and for the most part, she’s been successful.
But she just knows he’s going to try something stupid at the party. She doesn’t know what, but she knows him.
Surprisingly, however, Peter’s able to behave himself for the first hour. He mingles with everyone, never once making a suggestive comment, never once does his hand fall past the appropriate spot on her back. It’s honestly a bit of a shock.
But of course, all things must come to an end.
It’s as Flash is overexplaining the different stockings on his fireplace—all for him apparently—when Peter returns with a drink in hand, his voice lowered as he leans in to whisper. “Did we bring any stocking stuffers?”
Michelle’s brow furrows in confusion. “No? Why would we?”
Peter seems puzzled for a moment, lips twisting in thought, before his eyes light up. “Oh! I forgot.”
“Wha—”
“I brought the most important one.”
She’s ashamed that it takes her more than five seconds to process what he’s said, to get it, but when she does, it’s a slow blink and a heavy sigh. “Is it in your pants—”
“—It’s in my pants.”
+i
Okay, so maybe she doesn’t have as much self control as she’d originally thought.
But she can’t honestly find it in herself to care, especially with Peter’s mouth hot on hers, pushing her into the dresser in one of the spare bedrooms, his hands greedy as they travel her body, hungrily twisting and pulling at her clothes.
She’d dragged him in here not two minutes ago, after one “candy cane” joke too far. She’d been pushed right over that edge.
He tilts his head, deepening the kiss, and she lets out the softest of moans as his tongue slips into her mouth, one of his hands falling to grip her ass. His groan as he presses his hardness against her causes the heat in the pit of her stomach to flare, her hold on him to tighten, clinging desperately.
When she finally pulls back, her chest is heaving, her breath catching as his lips and tongue drag along the underside of her jaw. How he’s so good at just this, something so seemingly simple, how he can reduce her to a puddle of nerves with a few touches, she has no idea.
But, God, she needs him now.
Her hands move to his shoulders, gently pushing him down to where she wants him.
But he holds still, pushing back against her, stubborn. His gaze meets hers, almost challenging, a sly smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “What do you want?” He asks, knowing perfectly well what.
Her eyes narrow as she smirks. “You know what.”
“I don’t follow,” he says, pressing a kiss to the inside of her palm. “You gotta be more specific.”
On one hand, her body’s screaming at her to just jump his bones, to climb him like a tree, etc. But on the other, it wants her to drop kick him off of a mountain. “Peter
” She groans, her head falling back.
“Am I gonna be a DJ?” He asks, and she snorts. “Am I gonna spin you all night long like a little dreidel?”
MJ’s brow furrows. “I thought your dick was the dreidel?”
He playfully pinches her sides, shaking his head with a laugh before looking up at her again. “Am I going somewhere? To eat, maybe?”
“God, just—” she shakes her head, lips pressing together stubbornly. It’s the mischievous glint in his eyes that tells her exactly what he wants her to say.
And dammit, she’s too horny for this.
“Go to Flavortown.”
His giggle makes her heart nearly burst out of her chest.
“I dunno. Is it open right now? It is almost Christmas.”
“Doors are always open for you,” she almost laughs.
“I’m on it.” She’s cut off by Peter spinning her around, his hand splaying on her back and pushing her chest into the top of the dresser as he bends her forward. A heady rush of excitement flares within her, and she shifts on her feet in anticipation. His hands slide under her skirt and up to her waist, thumbs hooking under the waistband of her tights. The brush of his knuckles against her skin leave goosebumps in its wake as he peels them—and her underwear—down to her knees, and she gasps as the cool air hits her center.
He’s mumbling some song under his breath—one that sounds suspiciously festive. She looks back at him, a confused grin tugging at her lips when he sings aloud, “Spider-Man is coming to Flavortown
”
He bunches her skirt at her waist, and before she can even think to say anything about his song, his mouth is on her. Her knees buckle, glad to be gripping the dresser as tight as she is, when he licks a long stripe up—or down for her—her slit. His tongue is all over, languidly lapping at her, gathering her wetness and spreading it messily over her swollen clit.
A wet gasp falls from her lips as he brings two fingers up to tease her entrance, circling lazily as he sucks her clit into his mouth, flicking it with his tongue.
“Fuck, Peter—”
The warmth in her belly grows hot, boiling even, as he fervently and eagerly works her heat, moaning openly into her cunt. His fingers are skilled as they curl into her, sliding in effortlessly and finding her spot. The vibrations of his hums are addictive, intoxicating, but still make her smile when she realizes it’s even more holiday music that he’s humming.
“You’re such—fuck—such a dork,” she says, breathless, mouth curved into a wavy smile as her cheek presses into the wood of the dresser.
He laughs against her, though his pace doesn’t falter. It stays relentless, and continues eating her out like it’s the last meal he’ll ever have.
She comes with a choked, strangled moan, her knuckles tense as she grips the side of the dresser for purchase as his fingers fuck into her, as his tongue swirls around her clit in his mouth.
The ground feels shaky underneath her, and she doesn’t dare stand. Instead, she only melts further into the furniture, her eyes fluttering closed as she gathers her breath.
“My compliments to the chef,” he says, dumbly, hearing the lewd sound of him licking his fingers clean.
There’s nothing she can do to hold back her the laugh that bursts out of her
But then, the sound of the metal of his belt clinking reignites that same heat, and she finds herself almost whimpering in anticipation. She nearly jumps at the feeling of his tip sliding through her folds, gently tapping against her clit as he soaks himself in her arousal. The sound of Peter’s breath hitching makes her smile, and she suddenly finds energy in herself to push back against him, to grind herself on his erection.
He doesn’t wait another moment, a throaty groan spilling past his lips as he pushes into her, inch by inch, up to the hilt.
His pace starts slow, giving her time to accommodate, but soon, neither of them seem to have patience. In the next second, he’s fucking into her, his rhythm almost desperate as he matches it to their ragged breaths.
“Fuck, yes. MJ. You feel so fucking good,” he moans, punctuating each word with a hard thrust. “I’ve been wanting to do this all day. Fuck.”
It’s almost impossible to form words, her mouth hanging open, a croaking gasp leaving her lips when he shifts the angle.
She only nods, too lost in the sound of skin slapping against skin, the feeling of him filling her so well.
“I love you so much, Em,” he breathes, his voice shaky.
“I love you, too,” she manages somehow, miraculously.
And she looks up in the mirror, seeing the slight uptick of a smile on his lips. “Hey, Em?” He asks, his eyes meeting hers.
“Fuck—Yeah?”
His grip on her hips tightens as he picks up his pace, one hand placing a hard, but loving, smack on her ass.
And as that smile grows, instantly, she understands.
“Looks like we’re gonna have a white Christmas this year.”

Cheesy Moments

Tumblr media
You were alone in the apartment you were sharing with Jim in Yorktown while the enterprise was being fixed after it got damaged again on a mission. Currently, you were alone, dancing to some classic music in the kitchen as you made yourself a grilled cheese. Buttering one of the slices of bread you placed it in the hot pan before sprinkling cheese onto it. Taking the other slice you topped the piece with the buttered side up. Swinging your hips to the music you flipped it once the bottom was a nice golden brown color. Suddenly the music cut out and you felt someone’s hands grab your hips.
Letting out a squeak you turned around to face the person the hands belonged to. Seeing Jim you kissed him quickly in greeting before turning back around to focus on the task at hand. He exhales a small whining sound when you homed in on cooking again. Jim settled his chin on your shoulder observing your movements. Adjusting his hands he gripped your sides as his thumbs rubbed circles over your hips bones.
“Would you like one?” You asked as you moved the finished sandwich from the still hot pan to a plate.
“Yes, please,” he replies softly before brushing your hair that had been resting over your shoulder out of the way so he can nuzzle your neck and plants a soft kiss against the place where your neck meets your shoulder. Closing your eyes you lean back, melting into his embrace for a moment. Opening your eyes again you started on his sandwich. Once his was done you turned in his arms.
“Where do you wanna eat these?” You questioned, as your gaze traced his features. He looked tired, eyes a little sunken with blue bags forming under them. Yet, the blue color of his irises were as bright as they always were when he gazed at you.
“Can we eat in here? I don’t feel like moving right now,” he answers. At your nod, he tightens his hold on your hips so he can hoist you onto the counter next to the stove. Grabbing the plates you place one on your lap and the other one on your side. Jim easily slides between your parted knees so he can lean against the counter but makes sure to leave you enough room so you can reach your own plate. Reaching down Jim takes the grilled cheese from your lap, moaning as he takes the first bite.
“God, yours are always so good,” he praises you causing you to giggle as you take a bite of your own.
“What can I say? I’m an amazing cook,” you tell him but by the end of your sentence his eyebrows are raised as he gives you a pointed look.
“I’m sorry, but didn’t you almost burn down the kitchen last time you tried to make something more complicated than spaghetti?” At his words, you let out a little gasp and lightly slap his arm.
“That was one time, and you promised to never speak about it again!” You chide him, finger pointed in an accusatory way aimed at his chest.
“I remember lots of things from that night, like coming home to find you covered in flour with a pan full of burnt something smoking in the sink,” he shoots back at you.
“Don’t make fun of me, I really wanted that night to be special! Just because I misread the package and put the casserole in for an hour and a half instead of half an hour doesn’t mean I’m a bad cook,” you try to defend yourself but you know there’s no hope. Dipping his head down he rests his forehead against your shoulder as he shakes gently with laughter, his hands moving to hold your upper arms.
“Putting something that is premade into the oven isn’t even cooking,” he says in a teasing tone while lifting his head up to look at your annoyed face. “Don’t worry I love you with your horrible cooking skills and all.” He goes to kiss you but you turn your head so his lips land on your cheek instead.
“Oh, c’mon, babe,” he tries to kiss you again but you just huff, and cross your arms over your chest, not looking at him. He slips his hands down your arms in favor of gripping your hips. Quicker than you can catch on to his plan you’re over his shoulder in a fireman's carry.
“Jim!” You exclaim in surprise as your world is literally turned upside down. Just as soon as you were over his shoulder you’re thrown into the air only to land on the bed in the room Jim and you share. You only get a moment to collect yourself as Jim is on top of you in no time kissing you all over your face-- your cheeks, nose, forehead, temple, and finally your lips. Kissing him back, all annoyance is thrown out the window, you wrap your arms around him and tug him down so his body is pressing against yours and his hips are situated between your legs. The kiss is all teeth since neither of you can stop smiling. Breaking away from you he rolls off to your right and you follow him so you can lean into his side.
“So, I was thinking we could stay home for the rest of the day and have a movie marathon,” he suggests as you two get into a comfortable position. You end up with your head on his chest, arm across his body, and one leg between both of his as his hand rubbed your back soothingly.
“That sounds nice, what movies did you have in mind?”
“How about those twenty-first-century movies about the spy? I know you think the main guy’s hot,” he adds the last part in, trying to get you to agree to the action-packed flicks.
“Yeah, I could go for some movies with lots of explosions,” at his noise of agreement he grabs his PADD and pulls up the first one.

[FFXIV writing drabble]
I don’t have any examples of my writing really ‘on site’ and I have a few i’ve written for @hlkproductions of OCs from final fantasy xiv: a realm reborn And two ship oneshots for her as well, but I dunno if people would really care to read my silly things.  Long story short; Here’s a story of my poor character Kei’ta talking with his psudo-student Makoto[a different character from hlk].
Setting up a home in the distemperate forest of the flourished Raincatcher Gully would always sound like a simple task to those outside the reaches of deadly claws and thrashing tongues of the natural residence of the vibrant wood - waters infested with pugils of malice and gigantuan toads both quick to lash onto any who came to try their hand; leaving the land to the domain of the magiked coeurls and vicious raptors to defend - so the idea of a safe home was little beyond that of the premade buildings crafted for the trading posts before the start of the calamity.
An ideal such as that made those who made their home perfect for the purpose of hiding, as that was after all, all he had done for the past few years.
Hide.
Like he was doing now.
Eyes of amber and honey glanced to the scaled Doman from a tabled chair at the corner of the small raised hut that he had come to know as home in the rainforest, the mage of whom he shared the space with was not new to him; far from it by this point, they had traveled a fair distance in the gully, down the coast to the dancers as well - even fighting more than a few territorial creatures - but this young tailed man, this one that had been lost to the seas and land, spoke more about his own homeland and self than Kei’ta had in years.
Scarred fingers tapped along his thigh, the feeling of the course stitchwork numb to his tired nerves as they moved to glaze the air at the elbow of his other arm; no flesh or substance to feel there, nothing apart from the sting of ached memories and broken promises.
His stare drifted to the slender fingers of his companion - who teased the silence with glints of magic at his fingertips, spindling sparks and elements in a vibrance of colors; seeing such a use made that clutch of the past pulse in a highlight of his former life - prompting words from his usually distant demeanor.
“I used to do that.” His voice was hoarse, quiet, unused.
Makoto’s steeled gaze shifted from his mindless movements to the man who had found him those months ago, letting the aether flow free from his grasp as his attention changed. Straightening his posture on his cot he gave a soft tilt of his head to flip the long bangs of hair from his view as he questioned in turn.
“Do what? Magic?”
A nod was given in response, but the Miqote didn’t opt to continue for that moment, letting the words hang in the air - Makoto could feel his tail’s scales shiver in mild agitation at the usual clouded conversations they had.
It was only as the Doman stood from his bed - adjusting his balance in a practiced ease to his prosthetic leg - moving to come to the small table did Kei’ta start again.
“White magic specifically, Chosen by the Elementals to protect the Twelveswood and beyond.”
Bright eyes narrowed as the ninja spoke, idle hands sliding the second chair across the wood to let him sit, he had not know Kei’ta to speak of himself so it was treaded territory that Makoto asked “What happened?”
The dull gloss of dark fur of his ear and tail moved in time with his soft chuckle - a sad sound, there was little mirth to it, almost like he had forgotten how. The dragon like mage found himself sinking lower in his seat as the air felt weighted with the realization of how little he knew about the man he lived with - the hunter of his foods, and mender of his clothes - the wonderment of ideas of what that could be.
Calloused fingers rose to the table as the older man began his answer, sliding along the surface of the sanded wood with little more than gentle ministrations to occupy his thoughts as his words spun his tale.
“Lots. I lived
 I lost, I loved - I died
 and I lost again.”
Makoto’s brow furrowed for a moment as he tried to piece together the sentence, but kept his tongue tied tight, letting the quiet man speak his piece.
“Years ago - A lifetime ago really - I was entrusted as a ‘warrior of light’... a title I did little to earn apart from keeping the real champion alive
Her and I, we traveled the realm, fought primals and those that claimed themselves to be gods; not a notch in our belts save victory
”
His lips drew to a line for a moment, eyes softening as he reflected upon a memory - though Makoto could see the pain in those tired eyes equal with that tender stare. The Au Ra knew more about loss than the average person, more than any would in a lifetime - and that glazed longing
Makoto didn’t say a word, letting his silent friend speak at his own pace.
The graveled spin of words burned in his throat, clearing it did nothing to ease the weight on his tongue, nor the stutter of his breath as he started his story again;
“But
I made mistakes. We became involved in a plot far larger than ourselves and our fights - things not solved by weaponry alone - Trapped into a vortex of flight and treachery - we were taken separately
 and I
”
Kei’ta’s hand moved to the stump of his arm, grazing it with his palm as their eyes connected, he had no need to state the obviousness of his loss. That night took more than friendships and limbs, to some it stole spirit and drive. Makoto’s own fingers danced at the edge of the cloth of his pant, toeing the line of his own marred flesh; there were some things that didn’t need to be spoken.
The cat let his hand fall back to toy with the dust on the table, words sounding easier as his story unfolded, as he found a kindred heart to speak too;
“They took so much time from me; I didn’t understand how long till it was over, but It felt like a lifetime before I had seen the sun again
 by that time I
.”
He cleared his throat once again, adjusting his posture in an almost physical effort to be more comfortable talking to the dear companion, the one who shared more with a stranger than the ‘saviour’ himself.
“I had been consumed by that Taint I had worked so hard to cure with my conjuring
 and I let it fester
wanted it too - deprived myself of the healing I knew I needed
all cause I fee- felt like I deserved it. It was better than the alternative of guilt and numbness
 I became a Dark Knight
 easily.”
The admittance wasn’t something that sounded easy to the hesitant words and slow speech, and the Doman could understand why - just the thought of it, just the idea of such a thing flooded his blood with ice, dancing across his nerves with a sparked fire - itching to leap from the chair in defence from the words, from the potential of what could be lurking under those tired eyes.
Kei’ta could see this; lips pulling to a frown for a moment, before he rose from the table to stand - tail swishing in a unkept beat, a few moments given to his feet to pace the small cabin - soon tempting a glance to his friend with cautious words;
“As I’ve said; A lifetime ago
 Oboro’s made sure of that.”
His lungs swelled with air as the small Doman found his body relaxing, breathing back to a silent norm at the words - no matter how he had tried to keep his reaction to a minimum - going as far as to recline against the chair in a lax movement, speaking with his own hesitance at a question that nagged at his mind;
“Who was ‘She’? The woman you were talking about?”
Makoto almost regretted asking - seeing how Kei’ta’s tail stopped full swing, the dulled color of his ears twitching for a moment before staying taut to their position - but he could also hear the low hum in his throat as he tried to answer.
“Emmatea. A Dragoon of unmeasured caliber. There was no lancer I had ever come across - friendly or not - that could match her skill in the art. I had asked her once if she had ever danced - and boy did she treat me to a
”
It was almost comical how his expression shifted from the sorrowful remembrance to a gentle wave of embarrassment before he skipped over the topic.
“She was the only reason I lived. I could keep her and I alive through any fight, any storm - her faith in me made sure of that - but I would never be able to fight like she did
It wasn’t fury, nor just pure skill
it was a will, indomitable and stubborn that made her so scary.”
By this point the rambling catman had returned to his seat, though this time he sat facing out, leaning with his good side against the back of the wood with a chuckled sigh.
“Emmatea
 she was my sun
and I never told her that enough.”
Makoto saw that sadness once again edging to his eyes - that dark numbness he had become so prone to falling into - and Makoto found himself scrambling to speak again - anything to keep this smile on the lips of his friend;
“What was she like? What did she look like?”
His ears once again swiveled to listen to the soft voice of the Au Ra’s concern, though hearing only the questions to spin thoughts to a happy memory.
“She was
amazing. Even out of combat her prowess for things amazed me - quick to make friends, flirty or not, we always had a full party with us when we needed them, even if they had better things to do than try and help her get to a particularly difficult fishing spot
Not shy in asking for things either; but just as quick to offer whatever she could to make it up to us
 “
Kei’ta paused a moment.
“And
 she was
. Is
. beautiful. There is no person I have ever seen that I will say, that I can say, makes me feel like she does. He fur always glistens with a shine, a glow, that brightens the deep browns, the gentle curls of her hair always soft like silk
I never tired of brushing it for her - or just holding her... “
His lips pursed for a second before his voice lowered to a murmur;
“She was warm
 I
Even when we made camp in the ruins near Al Meigo
. I was never cold. Emmatea would always want me to hold her
she knows I don’t mind, I’d never make a fuss.”
Makoto noticed how the ninja danced his phrases between present and past tense, a frown pressing against his lips, almost like he didn’t know he had lost everything yet.
“Even when I had just started my Healer’s training; trying in vain to get a steady hold over my emotions, she always tips that scale without trying, I just can’t - couldn’t- bear to see her injured
 or worse
.I.”
His words stopped abruptly as he raised his palm to his face, tight fingers clenched over his eyes as his jaw clenched tight. Makoto’s posture straightened, words on the tip of his tongue as his fingers began to reach for the distraught man - but he stopped as he heard the soft choked sob caught in his throat, and saw the tears starting to escape from between his fingers.
Instead he just waited, silently as his conflicted companion fought the demons of his memories, and the guilt of his actions.
Thanks for reading. Honestly, it means a lot just you doing that. Im not a confident person at all. Not good at much. So Thank you.

It’s easy to wish you looked like or acted like someone else, or had the cushy job or great boyfriend that someone else has. No matter who you are, you can learn to be happy and fulfilled with your life. Take time to appreciate your talents and characteristics while forming a healthy body image and self-esteem. Focus on the positive aspects of your job, hobbies, and lifestyle. Fostering strong and close relationships can help you feel more satisfied and confident in your lifestyle.
EditSteps
EditLoving Who You Are
Identify what makes you unique and wonderful. Recognizing what you love about yourself first will make you much more comfortable in your own skin. Start by making a list of all of the things you love about yourself, whether it's your free spirit, your work ethic, or your shiny hair.[1]
Find at least 10 things you like about yourself. Think about your talents, accomplishments, or characteristics.
Appreciate what makes you unique. Perhaps you speak four languages, can walk on your hands, or can instantly make new friends. Not everyone can do that, but you can!
Redirect negative thoughts into positive ones. For example, instead of thinking “I’m not pretty enough,” say “I look great today!”
Practice gratitude in your daily life. Actively giving thanks helps you recognize the wonderful people, things, and opportunities in your life. Make a daily habit of giving thanks to those you love. Appreciate your opportunities, strengths, skills, and blessings.[2]
Keep a gratitude journal and write everything that you’re thankful for. You might include your family, friends, home, hobbies, opportunities, or health. Add 1 thing to this journal every day. If you’re feeling upset or down, try reading through the journal to cheer you up.
Always say thank you, whether you're thanking your local barista for an amazing cup of coffee or your father for always being there for you.
Fill your life with laughter. Always leave some room for laughter in your daily life. No matter how dire your life may seem at a given moment, never forget to take a break to laugh. You'll feel better in both the short-term and the long-term.[3]
Be just plain silly. Tell a corny joke, make a bad pun, or just dance around like a fool. Why not?
Laugh at your mistakes. This can defuse the situation and help you realize that things aren’t so bad.
Watch a comedy or a comedian. This will make you laugh and can cheer you up.
Be around people who love to laugh. Laughter is contagious!
Come to terms with your flaws. Confidence is the key to happiness, but everyone has flaws and weaknesses. Instead of obsessing over your perceived flaws, embrace them. If you want, ask yourself what you can do to improve yourself in this regard.[4]
Make a list of things you want to work on. Make manageable goals to improve. If you hate that you’re always forgetting things, try getting a planner or download a calendar app. Set alarms for when you need to do something.
Learn to live with some of your flaws. Perhaps you won’t ever get over your clumsiness, but that’s okay! Try to laugh when you stumble or brush it off as though it doesn’t matter.
Forgive yourself. Let's face it: we've all done something we're less than proud of. Whatever you did, you should recognize that it was wrong and understand why you did it, but after that, it's time to let it go.
EditCreating a Healthy Body Image
Identify what you love about your body. Feeling good about your body can go a long way in helping you be happy with who you are. Look at yourself and appreciate your best features.[5]
You may not love everything about your face, but you should be able to pick 1 or 2 things, like your eyes or your lips, that stand out. When you look at yourself, remind yourself how great this part of you looks.
Remind yourself what your body is capable of. Try to love your body for its ability to sing, dance, imagine, or jump.
Exercise. Exercise can boost your confidence and your mood, even if you’re not looking to lose weight or become stronger. Just working out for 30 minutes 2-3 times a week can increase your energy and confidence. Find what type of workout works for you and stick with it.[6]
Mindful exercises, like yoga or tai chi, can give you a sense of calm and help you meditate about your body.
Team sports, like soccer or softball, are tons of fun. They add an important social element to your exercise that can help you feel more fulfilled.
Running, biking, swimming, or even just taking a walk can help you clear your mind while helping you become healthy.
Eat healthy foods to improve your mood. Improving your diet can help your mind and body. Having a good balance between fruits and veggies, proteins, and carbs can help you feel more in tune with your body.[7]
Foods high in fiber and omega 3-fatty acids can improve your mood and help you feel happier. These include foods like whole wheat bread, brown rice, fish, green vegetables, and walnuts.[8]
Cook your own food from scratch instead of buying premade foods. Cooking can help you make healthier decisions, and you'll get more satisfaction from your meal.
It's okay to indulge in the occasional burger or ice cream, but having too many processed or fatty foods will make you feel tired or sluggish.
Create a wardrobe that makes you look and feel good. Being happy with what you're wearing can make or break how you feel about your appearance. If your clothes are dirty, don't fit well, or just don't look right, it can affect your mood and self-esteem. Choose a style that reflects your unique personality.[9]
Choose clothing that is comfortable for your body. Don’t try to wear clothing that is too big or too small.
Have a few key items that you adore. Having a favorite pair of jeans, a beautiful knitted sweater, or a trendy scarf can really help you feel good about how you look.
Jewelry, belts, scarves, and shoes can really pull an outfit together. If you’re missing that extra touch, try adding an accessory to it.
EditFostering a Joyful Lifestyle
Focus on the positive aspects of your job. Sure, some of your work may be frustrating or even boring, but pick a few things you love about your job, whether it's interacting with clients or customers, learning new things, or having the opportunity to travel occasionally.[10]
If you’re struggling at work, reframe how you approach your job. Personalize your workspace with pictures or plants. Avoid taking on extra projects if you’re overworked.
Take the time to get to know and appreciate the people you work with. You may feel like you have nothing in common, but if you make the extra effort to be friendly, it will make you much more eager to wake up to go to work.
Appreciate what your job can do for you. On hard days, remember that your job allows you to put food on the table.
Pursue hobbies and activities that interest you. Hobbies and interests outside of work give you something to look forward to. This helps you become a more well-rounded and interesting person. If you don’t have any hobbies currently, you might:[11]
Develop your artistic side. Try your hand at writing a poem, a song, or painting. You don't have to be great at it, but you can have fun in the process.
Learn a new language. This will make you feel more cultured and it can help you find a great job.
Join a team sport. Not only will you get a great workout, but you can make amazing friends.
Take an evening class. Learn something that you’re interested in, such as coding, woodworking, or ancient mythology.
Set a routine that works for you. A routine allows you to organize your life in a way that make every day activities pass in a breeze. If you feel stressed, hurried, or bored at certain points of your day, try shaking things up. Switch around your routine until you find something that works.[12]
Don't rush around in the morning. Give yourself enough time to eat a healthy breakfast and drive to work to arrive a few minutes early. Set your clothes out the night before or pack all of your lunches at the beginning of the week.
Even if your day is super-packed, make some time for yourself. Read a book during your lunch break, watch your favorite show before you go to bed, or wake up early enough to meditate.
Get plenty of rest. Go to bed and wake up at around the same time every day so your body develops a routine. This can help you feel more rested in the morning.
Try new experiences. Experiences, and not material items, are the key to happiness. Trying new experiences can help you step outside of your comfort zone while giving you many interesting and unique memories.[13]
Explore your surroundings and natural environments. Take a hike, go rafting, or try rock climbing.
Take a weekend trip, perhaps to a nearby city, mountain, or beach. Set aside 1 week a year for a much bigger trip to see your family or to visit a somewhere new, like New York City or the Grand Canyon.
Attend concerts, museum openings, or new movies in your area. This can help develop your mind and expose you to new experiences in your own town.
Create a clean and comfortable living space. Feeling safe, comfortable, and at peace in your own living space can make the difference between being happy and being cooped up. Decorate your home in a way that makes you cheerful or energetic.[14]
Clean up any clutter. Put away things where they belong, and avoid adding too much furniture to an area. Keeping an open, light room can go a long way in creating a happy space.
Filling your home with photos of your loved ones, souvenirs from your favorite vacations, or paintings of your favorite spots can help remind you of what makes you happy.
Boost your mood at home by painting your walls light or bright colors, like soft blue, lavender, or yellow.
Make changes if you’re not happy with your routine or lifestyle. If you’re truly unhappy with an aspect of your life, you may have the power to change it. Take the initiative to move on and start something new.
If you hate your job so much that it is causing stress or anxiety, it may be time to find a new job.
Maybe you loved training for marathons for the past decade, but suddenly you dread all of your training runs. Spice things up by finding a new way to work out or spend your time.
If you feel stuck, bored, or isolated in your town, consider moving or take a vacation to somewhere new.
EditEstablishing a Strong Social Network
Find supportive, positive friends. Having a network of close friends is one the best ways to become happy with yourself in the long run. Having the right friends can improve your self-esteem, make you feel needed, and boost your self-confidence.[15]
Treasure old friendships. Maintain these relationships with frequent visits, emails, phone calls, or skype sessions.
If you've met someone who you really click with, don't be afraid to ask them on a coffee date to see if you can get to know each other better.
Dump your toxic friends. If you have a friend who makes you feel terrible about yourself or is so negative that they manage to ruin your mood every time you hang out, it may be time to let them go.
Appreciate your family. In many cases, nobody has done more for you or knows you better than your parents or siblings. Whether you're off at college, living in a different country, or sharing a house with your family members, it's important to be happy with who they are in order to be truly happy being yourself.[16]
If you have a good relationship with your parents, take time to talk to them often, and tell them you love them. Don’t forget to thank them!
Treat your siblings well. Even if you sometimes you feel like you and your sibling live on different planets, you still share a common bond of knowing what it's like to grow up in the same place with the same parents.
Even if you don’t have a strong relationship with your biological family, you can appreciate those who are like family in your life. Consider who you might consider to be your family, and let them know how you feel.
Participate in your community. Feeling involved in your neighborhood, city, religion, school, or other community group can make you feel like you belong to something bigger. This can help you create long-lasting relationships and find interesting things to do.[17]
Introduce yourself to your neighbors. Your neighbors will not only make you feel involved in where you live, but they could end up being your best friends.
Attend town hall meetings, book clubs on your streets, concerts by local musicians, volunteer park clean-up days, or any other events that make you feel involved in local culture or politics.
Volunteering can give you a deep sense of fulfillment and help you meet others in your community. Look for organizations and causes you believe in. You might raise money for the homeless or build houses for low-income families.[18]
Foster healthy romantic relationships. Romance can be very fulfilling, but it is important to make sure that your relationships are founded on love, trust, and strong communication. A toxic romantic entanglement can cause significant stress and unhappiness.[19]
If you have a great significant other, communicate openly with each other on a daily basis. Make sure that both partners are fulfilled and satisfied with the relationship.
If you're single and dating lots of people, have fun with it. Going on date after date may get frustrating, but if you stay positive, you're more likely to find the right person.
If you're single and not looking, that's okay too! If you're not at a point in your life where you want to date anyone, be happy with who you are and the decisions you're making.
Learn to forgive. You won't be able to fully enjoy your relationships if you're holding a grudge or stuck in the past. Learning to forgive the people you love for their past mistakes is the only way to move forward in your relationships.[20]
If someone has really hurt you, try looking at it from their perspective. Your friend may have hurt you with the best intentions, or might not have been thinking clearly.
Learn to accept an apology. If your friend, mother, or significant other is truly sincere and sorry about something, learn to accept an apology. Try to move on as best you can.
If you hurt the other person, say you're sorry too.
EditTips
Do something that you love at least once a day, whether it be listening to a song that you love, or dancing in your underwear in your bedroom.
Try helping others. There is nothing like helping someone else to help improve your self-confidence and to make you realize how lucky you are.
Don't compare yourself to other people. This will only make you frustrated. Instead of focusing on what others have, focus on what makes you who you are.
EditWarnings
If you've tried everything and you still feel deeply unhappy with who you are, you may be suffering from depression and should seek professional help.

Healthy on the Cheap
The most common answer I get when I ask people what is preventing them from taking better care of themselves is, that it is too expensive and they can’t afford it. They compare the cost of a cheeseburger to a salad or organic vs non-organic and just say that there is a reason people in this country are fat. Many people get discouraged because they look at the world of health and wellness more as a luxury than a necessity like a car or a cell phone. Here is what I know as a health coach and what I try to tell my clients. Your health is an investment, the more you put into it the more you will benefit over the long term. That investment doesn’t have to come in the form of money, but instead, it can come as an investment of time, patience and research. You don’t have to have a lot of money to be healthy. Health and wellness are not just for the rich, being healthly is for everyone. Below you will find some tips and tricks for becoming and staying healthy on a budget. No one should feel like their health is out of reach.
  Fitness
Let’s say you’re the kind of person who needs a group class to get you motivated to workout. However, spending $15- $45 to spend on a single fitness class is not in the budget. Or, you want to join a gym but the monthly fee is too expensive. Instead of letting your fitness route lapse, there are ways around the high-priced fitness class but will still put you in that group setting.
Community classes/ Charity classes: Most studios offer community classes to promote their studio or gym. They usually happen once a week and are by donation or are around $5. You still get the experience of taking the class, but don’t have to pay the high prices.
Running/Biking Groups: A lot of cities and towns have running or biking groups that you can join. They meet a few times a week and are usually working toward an easy goal so that you don’t need to be a professional to keep up. I love these groups because every one in them is usually really laid back and friendly; best part is they are almost always free! Also, there are usually a few really experienced people who you can ask for tips and guidance if you’re new to running or biking.
The Gym: There are some gyms out there that only cost about $10-$15 a month to join. While most of them don’t have fitness classes and personal training costs more, they almost always have someone who will show you how to use the equipment for free. Plus, don’t be shy to tell them that you are on a budget. Everyone respects someone who is trying to better himself/herself by not spending a lot of money.
Online: We live in the age of online-is-everything-and-everywhere. You name it, it is probably online. A great way to cut your costs is to look around online. Nowadays you can find thousands, I mean thousands, of fitness class and routines online for practically nothing; sometime they even cost nothing. While you’re not doing it in a group, you are doing it to a video that has people in it, so I mean close enough. You can always invite a friend over to do the videos with you. These subscriptions usual cost $10-$15 a month and you have access to every type of workout that you can imagine. Plus, these subscriptions usually give you a 30 day free trial! Then, of course, there is always YouTube, where you can find fitness videos for free!
The Great Outdoors: It doesn’t get much cheaper than this. Being outside is completely free or your tax dollars have already paid for it! I am talking about hiking, running, and walking around in a park or trail. Community and state-run parks are almost always free to use because your tax dollars have already paid for them. Most of them also already have workout equipment, like jungle gyms and fitness tests, along the way. So, don’t be afraid to take a look around the next time you are at your local park.
    Healthy Food
Everyone is always telling me that eating healthy is so expensive. They go into the health food store and see that one bag of carrots is twice as expensive as another because it’s organic. So, when you are trying to replace everything in your kitchen with more healthy products, but your budget’s not allowing it. Being healthy can appear almost impossible. What can you do?
Shop local: Signing up for CSA or food share can save you hundreds of dollars. They are boxes of produce that typically come once a week or once a month, depending on the kind of share to which you subscribe. These programs usually cost $20-$35 a box (depending on the size), but contain enough local organic produce to feed you and your family for a week and a half.
Co-ops: Local food co-ops are an amazing way to save some money. They usually have an annual or one-time membership fee that more than pays for itself on the first few shopping trips. The memberships come with a discount on each purchase or access to special discounts. Plus, these store are usually stocked with hundreds of local products, from produce to cheese to homemade pasta, from a small family owned facility of which you never heard. They usually also have a bunch of homemade premade food you can take with you on the go or use to help you make dinner. Because, let’s face it, we don’t always have time to make our own pesto.
Cook at home: Cooking at home can save you a bundle because, while going out and eating healthy might cost you more, staying in and cooking yourself will save you a bundle. This way you can control what goes into your food, you can buy and make things in bulk, and you’re not paying for someone to bring you your food.
Avoid processed food: While frozen, prepared, and processed food might appear cheaper and will save you time, they almost never do. Cheap processed and frozen food is usually full of unhealthy things and the ones that aren’t are very expensive. Pre-cleaned or prepared food is going to have an added cost because you have to factor in the person who spent time making it or preparing it. So, save yourself some money and just make it yourself.
Buy what’s in season: It is a perfect example of supply and demand. Food that is in season is cheaper because there is more supply of it. More people have an easier time growing it, so it drives the price way down. Instead of spending $6 on your strawberries, wait till they are in season when they are $3.
Subscription Food: One of the best ways to spend money is by subscribing to something you could do yourself. Many of those food subscription services that deliver things to your house, like juice, smoothies, or meals, can really add up. There are plenty of cheaper ways to eat healthy than relying on a service to do it. Instead, look up free healthy recipes online and make things in bulk. It is cheaper to buy a whole chicken than pieces, plus you can make gravy, broth, stews, and soup out of what is left over. The same can be said for vegetables. Just because you used the bulk of the produce doesn’t mean you can’t use the “waste” for something.
Avoid trend diets: Trend diets are expensive because the industry wants to get the most out of your pocket and in a short amount of time. A juice cleanse or a supplement cleanse will end up costing you a lot more than you will benefit. Plus, those diets aren’t sustainable. The only reason to invest in yourself is to see results long term. Quick fixes will only cost you money and won’t solve anything long term.
Self- Care
Nothing sounds more expensive than taking care of yourself.  Most people think it means taking time away from being productive, going to an expensive spa, or spending a large chunk of money on vacation. The truth is it doesn’t have to be. There are plenty of things you can do for yourself that don’t cost any money.
Bathtime: Taking a nice relaxing bath will barely cost you any money at all. You can even use things from your kitchen to make baths more special. Oatmeal or olive oil is a great way to get smooth skin without investing in an expensive bottle of bath oil. You can even grow your own lavender or sage for a relaxing smell in the bath and around the home. It doesn’t cost much and you only need a sunny window. You can also put things like baking soda or salt to help with soreness. A luxury bath doesn’t have to cost you much.
Self Massage: We have been lotioning ourselves after a shower for years, so why not use this time to slow down and give yourself your own massage? It’s cheap, easy, and it is a really great way to self care.
Meditation: There are so many free guided meditations online now, so you don’t have spend money to learn how to meditate. Simply find the firmest pillow in your house and press play.
Masks Mask Masks!: You can make your own face, body or hair mask in your own home using things from your kitchen. Don’t worry about spending $40 on some expensive mask just go to your kitchen and, boom, here comes some “me” time. There are lot’s of recipes online that help with every skin or hair problem out there, and they are all free!
DIY Facial: Grab your cleanser, a crockpot full of warm towels, lemon juice, some honey, and baking soda to give yourself an at-home facial.
Simply cleanse first, remove with a hot towel,
Mix some baking soda into your cleanser and gently massage, rinse, and remove with another warm towel.
With a clean makeup brush, take some the juice and coat your face, let it sit for 5 minutes, then remove with a warm towel.
Then take some honey and place it on your face for a mask, let it sit for 10 minutes, and remove with the final warm towel.
Then put on some moisturizer and you are done!
Being healthy does not mean you have to spend all your fun money on fitness, self-care, or organic products. You can easily find ways to make healthy cheap because no one should have to make six figures in order to live a healthy lifestyle. With all the money you save, remember to treat yourself to something fun because there needs to be some balance to your budget. *wink
