It's honestly kind of funny to me that catapulting into Kirk/Spock shipping has launched my usual "meh, not into jealousy as a metric of romantic love" shipping tendency out the window and instead I'm genuinely charmed by the extent to which they reflect the same unhealthy seething jealousy.

This is most obvious with Spock, but you'll get McCoy joking about Spock falling in love with a computer (not an android, a stationary computer) and McCoy being A Normal Guy Joking About His Friend Having a Hobby is immediately contrasted with Kirk's barely repressed jealousy (you can all but see him thinking "time to talk another computer to death" while McCoy just laughs at his own joke about it). Kirk gets more and more generally insecure until Spock publicly declares that, while he does like an efficient computer, Kirk is irreplaceable and he doesn't want to serve anyone or anything else, and Kirk looks like he's about to kiss him on the bridge.

(Kirk still talks the computer to death, btw, for plot reasons. But big "Edith Keeler must die" energy.)

I also enjoy Kirk's horror/outrage at Leila Kalomi and her obvious gloating over "taking" Spock from him in the docility sex pollen episode and Kirk's willingness to do or say anything to get Spock back vs Spock bleeding intensity throughout "Requiem for Methuselah" as Kirk falls in love with Rayna, then Spock numbly listening to McCoy's speech about how he can never understand the glories or agonies of romantic love triangles or passionate love before waiting for him to leave and then wiping Rayna from Kirk's mind. Just two bros who are totally normal about each other!

Hiya! I'd like to ask how do you do your ms paint art? Do you first make the outlines and then colours, or perhaps vice versa? I really adore your ms paint art and would love to know the process (for practice purposes:))

Depends! My two strategies, featuring Cactus Gunman of Gregory Horror Show fame:

I often just color right on top of my sketches when I'm being silly + designing characters + just trying to figure out what something looks like (and tend to use this to fiddle with details and colors) It's usually quicker for me to end up with something that I'm happy with.

Most of the time when I bother to do separate, cleaner line art, it's because I'm making a graphic for my website. LOL. I think it feels a little more cartoonish-silly, which is usually what I'm going for when I decide to do this. It's also a bit harder to make large changes to whatever I'm drawing, so I'm usually working off of a messier thing I've already made.

(Technically, I no longer use MS Paint and instead use Aseprite due to becoming a Linux user, but nothing has really changed about the way I draw + all of this can be done in MS Paint just fine.)

Just imagine...

Dorian is sleeping soundly in a tent in the Hinterlands when he hears something. It's a small sound, but he's a light sleeper, so it's just enough to wake him. He slowly opens his eyes to find a figure leering at him in the darkness, as still as a statue and hunching over him like a gargoyle. Light breathing comes from the creature, and if it wasn't for the fact that Dorian recognizes this mysterious figure, he would've started attacking it the moment he sensed its presence.

Instead, he slowly lifts his hands up from the covers, lighting fire from them in order to illuminate the area, not touching the creature, but putting the flame just close enough to where he can see it clearly

The creature's eyes flash like a cat's and it hisses like one too, displeased by the sudden light

Finally, after an unbearably long silence between Dorian and the creature, Dorian lets out a long sigh and speaks

"What is it now, Lavellan?"

"..."

"When did you and Iron Bull get together?"

How color theory

Good question ! When it comes to colour I believe the best way to find what works is to have fun and experiment until you find what works best for you!

I've already covered a bit about how I choose and create the colours here (making base colours colourful) and here (working with palettes)!

But in terms of what I know about actual colour theory, I can only offer this:

It's not a lot and it is just the basics so if you already knew this then apologies but it's all I know/ all I think is worth knowing. Please note that colour theory is more of a suggestion then a rule! Different colours look good to different people and you should do what looks good to you!
