Understanding Medicare
Tumblr media
What Is Medicare?
Medicare is a federal, tax-supported medical insurance program for people 65 and over plus many men with disabilities. In the event that you or your spouse have worked full time for 10 or even more years within a life, you're most likely eligible for Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) at no cost. Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) is available in a regular rate set yearly by Congress ($121.80 at 20-16 for incomes 85000.00 or not as to get a person ). Some seniors are entitled to get the health care insurance portion (Part B) complimentary too, based upon their own income and asset levels. To find out more, inquire concerning the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB), Special Low Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB), and Qualifying Individual apps by your county social services division.
Just how Does Medicare Work?
Medicare is obviously two individual kinds of insurance--medical and hospital. It isn't meant to pay all of your medical expenses. Hospital insurance (Part A of Medicare) insures hospital therapy and surgical treatments performed at a hospital. Additionally, it covers hospice, home health, and limited skilled medical attention. Medical insurance (Part B Medicare) covers a portion of the expense of physician bills, medical care, medical equipment, and laboratory and diagnostic evaluations. With all the Medicare modernization act of 2003, Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Medicare Part D (Prescription Coverage), additionally became available, through private insurance firms.
How Do I Get Medicare?
If you're receiving Social Security benefits before turning 65, you need to receive notification of your registration in Medicare fleetingly before your 65th birthday. Other folks need to apply by calling or seeing their Social Security office to get Medicare. If you aren't yet receiving Social Security or even in case you never have obtained a Medicare registration notice, you ought to contact the nearest Social Security office for advice. Software for Medicare could be drawn up throughout a seven-month phase beginning 3 weeks before the month of your 65th birthday. IT IS BEST TO APPLY DURING THE THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE MONTH OF YOUR 65TH BIRTHDAY. When an application is made throughout this time, coverage will start on the first day of one's arrival . Applying after will postpone the beginning of one's own benefits. You might even make an application for Medicare from January 1 through March 31 annually after your 65th birthdaycake. Your policy afterward starts July 1 of this year you signed and you'll cover a ten per cent surcharge on the Part B premium for every 1-2 weeks that you were eligible but not registered.
What If I Am Still Working? If you proceed to work after age 65 or your spouse is working and you're insured by an employer group health plan (EGHP), then you might choose to postpone enrollment in Part B of Medicare. Searching for Medicare Part B will activate your open registration for Medicare supplement at an occasion if that you don't need supplemental policy. The penalty for late registration in Part B doesn't apply in the event that you're insured by an EGHP for your spouse's present employment. Should you work after age 65, then you can make an application for Medicare Part B at any time before retirementbut you have to apply no later than eight weeks following your formal retirement as a way to prevent paying reduced penalty. If your employer provides a retirement health program, you might require to subscribe for Medicare Part A and probably for Medicare Part B if you retire. Many retirement plans assume you're insured under Medicare and won't cover services which Medicare would have covered. Candidates may qualify for special health programs. But, benefits and eligibility are very prohibitive and are susceptible to change. The Department of Veterans Affairs guides specialists to apply for both Parts A and B of Medicare to make sure sufficient medical care.
What About Costs Medicare Does Not Cover? Medicare pays only a part of hospital and healthcare statements. Much like lots of private insurance coverage, the government anticipates inheritance to cover a share in their invoices. Medicare Parts A and B both have deductible and coinsurance requirements. The deductibles for 20-16 are $1288.00 each Benefit Period, for Part A. The Part B deductible is $166.00 each year. Private insurance can be obtained to pay for some or all of these costs. These insurance coverage are all called Medicare supplements (also called Med Sup or Medigap plans).
Medicare Supplement Insurance
Medicare Supplements are standardized by the Federal Government. They're lettered A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M & N. Each standardized Medigap policy has to supply the exact identical primary benefits irrespective of that insurer sells . Cost is ordinarily the sole big difference between Medigap policies with the exact letter sold by different insurance providers. Plan A pays the Medicare hospital and doctor co insurance, the very first 3 pints of blood vessels, and 365 days of illness outside Medicare. Plans B through N provide those advantages and add further benefits like coverage for Medicare deductibles, excess charges and limited preventative maintenance, and foreign travel. ONLY ONE MED SUP PLAN IS NECESSARY. You need to only buy one Med Sup plan. Nobody should attempt and offer you one more Med Sup plan if you don't select that you want to modify policies.
Open Enrollment at Medicare Supplement Insurance At age 65, all of consumers - including those receiving Medicare as a result of disability - possess a two-year"open enrollment" period. For half a year beginning when you're age 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare Part B, employers must sell you some Medicare supplement plan they supply. Next limited open registration period, businesses can select exactly what they are going to pay for. Different Options If you've got a single or"bank group" insurance plan, becoming Medicare eligible doesn't demand that you cancel it and buy a Medicare supplement. Doing this can preserve premium costs . however, it's crucial to compare benefits before deciding on what's going to work . If you're qualified for employer retirement , review the master program carefully to know exactly what benefits can be obtained and how it works together Medicare. Be conscious that employer plans aren't standardized and aren't susceptible to certain requirements forming standardized Medicare supplements. A few Texas residents are entitled to register in approved Medicare Advantage plans. These plans are provided by private insurance firms. Annually Medicare Advantage businesses decide where they'll offer their plans, so what benefits will likely probably soon be offered, and also what exactly the premiums will likely be. There are many Medicare Advantage plans available in a lot of counties in East Texas. Based on plan choice, an associate could be in charge of paying co payments for many services that are covered.
If I Purchase Long-Term Care Insurance?
Before, families resigned into help when elderly family were not any more able to take care of themselves. Now, with elderly people living more, families frequently living spaces apart and more women working away from house, fewer families can supply this maintenance. A vast assortment of longterm maintenance services is currently available--day care, respite care, healthcare, and medical attention. These services are costly and frequently transcend a individual's ability to shell out off. People often wrongly assume that Medicare may pay for their longterm maintenance expenses. MEDICARE ONLY COVERS LONG-TERM CARE UNDER VERY, VERY LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES.

The Truth about Korean Skincare
The Truth about Korean Skincare ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ @MyTherapistSays ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ https://mytherapistsays.ca/the-truth-about-korean-skincare/
The Truth about Korean Skincare
Firstly let me start by saying this is not a sponsored post, this is my real experience and honest thoughts just wanted to share with you guys!
Everywhere you look lately, whether it’s magazines, Instagram, or dermatologists offices, Korean skincare is everywhere. I became interested in it after seeing so many videos on Instagram of people showing their 10-step skin care routines.
From travelling so much and not being able to have consistent dietary habits, I’ve noticed my skin take a turn for the worst.
Let me give you a brief background on my skin type.
I normally have combination type skin; dry around, and an oilier T-zone. So, taking care of my skin was always an effort, and a priority. The older I get, the more sensitive my skin gets, and because of those factors, I am very picky about my skin care routine and what products I use.
While I was in Seoul, South Korea, I decided to fix my skin since I’ve heard such amazing things about their beauty industry. In this article, I’m going to tell you my honest experience with Korean dermatology, their skincare products, and their MUST FOLLOW advice for amazing looking and healthy skin!
Since I didn’t (and still don’t) know the language, or anything about Korean procedures, my friends recommended for me to reach out to Docfinderkorea, an amazing company that basically deals with foreigners that want to come to Korea for any type of procedures, be it surgical, or dermatological. They went above and beyond with helping me find the perfect clinic that would suit all my needs. They only deal with the most trustworthy clinics in Korea, which was a super important factor for me, as safety for your skin and self is most important.
They arrange an airport pickup and drop off for you, they communicate with the clinics for you, translate everything, and are always with you for support, plus they also have amazing discounts with different clinics, so all my treatment prices were way lower than I had originally planned for! Whether you come alone or with family/friends they are always with you to help guide you through the journey. There really is no downside to using them, it didn’t cost me a cent, and they also picked me up and dropped me off for all my consultations and procedures. It was actually super helpful because in Seoul, it’s very hard to catch a cab without their apps, and if you do manage to catch one, telling them where you want to go in English is very hard for them to understand so most of the time they just reject your ride.
Moving on, Docfinder helped me meet with ID dermatology clinic, where I had my consultations. I had a massive breakout on my face and it was petrifying. I didn’t know the reason and tried everything I could to manage it, including several facials in Los Angeles and Toronto to help.
When I first entered the dermatology clinic, the building is beautifully decorated, everything is accented with gold and they have their own cosmetics line/skincare products on display in the waiting room for you to test out while you wait for your treatments/consultant. I particularly enjoyed that because I was looking for some new products to use since clearly something I’ve been using wasn’t working for me. They were very professional, took down my information, were very friendly and welcoming.
The consultant came to get me and Eugenia (Docfinderkorea) from the waiting room and we moved to a private room where we could discuss my problems and treatments. Their consultant was very knowledgeable and suggested many treatments that would help me, she was on the same page as me when it came to my concerns.
I told ID clinic about my concerns, which were: acne, sagginess, aging, sun damage, and hydration. They told me I needed to get several treatments done to help my skin [treatments and their purpose will be listed below]. I had a total of three days worth of treatments there and my skin felt and looked different from the first treatment!
1st Day of treatment included – Acne Treatment:
E2 Laser
A laser procedure using radio frequency to regenerate skin. It delivers heat to the epidermis layer repeatedly and regenerates skin.
Benefits: Helps scarring, acne, burns, wounds, crows feet, laugh lines, nasolabial folds, skin tone and skin texture improvement, pore tightening
Scaling Treatment
It’s a treatment that exfoliates dead skin, squeezing out acne if necessary, using light therapy, and a mask pack to cool inflammation.
Benefits: Helps discharge dirt/makeup residue in pores and discharge dead skin. It also helps control the amount of sebum for less acne-prone skin.
Thoughts/Results:
I would say for anyone worrying about acne, this set of treatments was where I saw the most difference instantly. To this day, my skin is way less oily, especially in the T-zone. My pores look and feel smaller, and my skin texture is smoother than it ever was! I used to have these small bumps under my skin that no amount of facials could get rid of. The scaling treatment and laser took care of that. I would recommend that 100%.
2nd Day of treatments included – Lifting, Rejuvenating & Moisturizing
Ulthera
The procedure uses ultrasound to lift and tighten skin in a non-invasive method. It induces skin to generate collagen.
Benefits: Lifts skin to make it tighter and makes skin generate collagen over time. There are several types, so a customized approach to each person’s age, skin condition, and fat layer is possible.
PRP
Platelet Rich Plasma, which includes various growth factors that activate collagen generation and encourage adult stem cell for faster skin healing process.
Benefits: It’s anti-aging, improves aged skin, saggy skin, wrinkles, skin elasticity, and tightens pores. It also helps with skin whitening like dark circles and improves melasma.
Volite Injection
It’s an injection of low molecular hyaluronic acid.
Benefits: It helps improve skin texture, pores, fine wrinkles, and skin elasticity. Simultaneously, it moisturizes the skin and generates collagen.
Co2 Laser
It’s a laser that is used in mole removal, also used for scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, age spots, skin tags, and many other ways.
Benefits:
A quick and less painful way of removing something from your face such as moles or scars using a laser.
Thoughts/Results:
This whole procedure was done the next day right after the acne treatment. Because I’m so afraid of pain and so sensitive, and I was doing many treatments in one go, I decided to go under local anesthesia. The result of all these for the next couple of days was minor swelling and bruising. They warned me about the healing process, advising me that swelling, bruising, and pain around the jaw area would be normal. I honestly only had minor swelling and could cover all my bruises with make-up and was able to leave my hotel after just two days. The results of these treatments will be shown overtime.
Ulthera, they told me, would take at least a month to see any difference, however for PRP and the Volite injection, results would be seen sooner, but still take a few days.
3rd Day of Treatment included – De-swelling Treatment
Normally you don’t need this if you don’t want it, but since I was travelling back and had work and so on, I wanted a treatment that would help my skin heal faster from the bruises and swelling. Plus, it felt really good!
De-swelling treatment program:
It’s a 5 step procedure-
Cleansing residue on skin by aesthetician
Radio-frequency treatment
Regeneration light therapy
Mask pack
Finishing treatment including moisturizer and sunscreen.
Benefits:
It relaxes and soothes skin after the injections and laser procedures. Helps calm redness and swelling.
Thoughts/Results:
I got this treatment done the day before my flight and was more than ready to take on the 13 hour long flight back. They helped me feel refreshed, relaxed, and more secure about my skin. All in all I would recommend this treatment if you got something that was painful in any way!
ID clinic, being the sweethearts they are, gave me an after care package with healing/recovery face masks as well as an envelope with each treatment and the aftercare necessary, covering all my questions. I’m the type of person that is super careful, and follow instructions to the letter, so those guidelines really helped me. After the treatment was over, Docfinderkorea sent a car for me to go to the airport. It was a huge SUV, that fit all my luggage, with the driver already having all my flight information so no language barrier was felt. All in all, I was, and am, more than pleased with my experience and results! Would I recommend this to my friends, family, and you guys? Absolutely, without a doubt!!! I know how depressing having bad skin is, and how it impacts your self esteem and daily mood. I will definitely plan a trip to Korea for my skin up-keeping at least once a year. Especially with Docfinderkorea being so easy to plan with. It’s as simple as WhatsApp-ing them and they will have the whole team help you plan your next trip.
It’s been two weeks now since my treatment and I can confidently leave the house without make-up. This helps my overall mental and physical health. I haven’t had any breakouts upon my return!
Since I did all these procedures, I also decided to do the 10 step Korean skin care routine, to make sure my skin maintenance is under control. Most of the people I saw in Seoul had incredibly flawless skin, so I decided to follow their advice and invest more time into my skin care routine.
Now, the one main rule all of the people in Korea follow to have amazing skin is…SUNSCREEN!!! I know it’s crazy, but I used to think sunscreen made my skin oily and gave me breakouts, but Korean products have changed my views. I decided to use ID.AZ dermatology clinic products, since when they used them on me, I didn’t have any breakouts and they didn’t give my skin any negative reaction, plus they are made and tested by dermatologists, so another bonus there!
I would definitely call this a miracle for me, as I felt very stressed about my skin this whole summer to fall. Now I will keep you guys posted on the continuation of my journey and how my skin does with ID.AZ skin care products. Look forward to it!
Hope you enjoyed my journey!

the article from DANCE MAGAZINE February 1962
BRUHN, BOURNONVILLE AND BALLET
Introduction
In the spring of 1955, a Danish dancer of unusual promise became an international star. Dance Magazine, recognizing that history was in the making, made its now famous photographic record (July ‘55 issue) of the rehearsals in which Alicia Markova taught the young soloist the role of Albrecht for the Ballet Theatre production of “Giselle." Since that time Erik Bruhn has continued to grow as an artist. Where- ever he goes, his immaculate, thrilling dancing is met with acclaim.
Last year Lillian Moore, American dance historian-teacher-author-critic and frequent contributor to Dance Magazine, long entranced with the “Bournonville style” in which the Royal Danish Ballet has for over a century trained its dancers, persuaded Mr. Bruhn to collaborate with her on an informal but intense study of the teaching methods of the great 19th- century choreographer. The book, coauthored by Miss Moore and Mr. Bruhn, has just been published by the Macmillan Co. Its title is “Bournonville and Ballet Technique,” its cost, $5.00.
The following is Mr. Bruhn's introduction to “Bournonville and Ballet Technique.” Bournonwille’s foreword to the technique manual he called “Etudes choregraphiques” is also reprinted from the lovingly-fashioned collaboration of the authors, who have successfully recreated a major link in ballet history.

My Bournonville Background by Erik Bruhn
Hours of waiting went by. It was very noisy. Some children were crying, others playing wildly all over the place; the grown-ups talked incessantly. Some of the children, either on their own initiative or at the demand of their mothers, were practising “tricks” or little solos with which they hoped to attract the special attention of the ballet master or the teachers who, at any moment now, were to decide our future.
Up to this point, all the commotion had caused me just to want to leave the place. Mу aunt (who had taken me there, because my mother was busy) finally bribed me to stay and go through with the audition. It cost her one kroner (about a shilling, or fifteen cents).
Young ballet students, 16 to 18 years old, worked very hard separating the children from the parents, putting us in lines, and eventually dividing us into groups of fifteen to twenty, in different studios. It was something of an anticlimax to find out that all we had to do was march, walk in time to music and show our feet. Then we were examined by the doctors.
When my aunt learned that I had been accepted to enter the ballet school the following season, she rewarded me with another kroner.
During the long summer vacation I almost managed to forget that I was to enter the Royal Theatre again. There I would not only attend the ballet school, but receive my entire academic education. As I recall it, I had a rather difficult time adjusting myself to that special kind of world which is the theatre, or in this case, the world that children consider the theatre to be.
If  I knew little about ballet, I knew even less about the training I was to receive for the next ten years. Very soon every child in the school was aware of August Bournonville. At that time, although there were some contemporary works in the repertoire of the Danish Ballet, its centre and very base consisted of Bournonville’s ballets. There were many opportunities for us children to appear on the stage. To be chosen as one of the eight children to dance in Konservatoriel was the goal of all of us. Since the same dance combinations were given in our daily classes, we all strove to perfect ourselves in the steps, so that one day we might be given the opportunity to perform them.
To be called on to fill any small role in one of Bournonville’s ballets, or even to be one of the group of children that he used in the third act of Napoli as a background for the soloists who performed the famous variations and pas de deux, was the focal point of our life and work in the theatre. I used to stand with the rest of the crowd on the bridge in Napoli, dreaming of one day taking part in that wonderful dancing, or even doing one of those exciting solos that took place on the stage below us. All the principal artists who now dance in Napoli have stood in the back as children, at one time or another. Some of us even got to dance the very same solos we dreamed about.
After a couple of years at the school, I had begun to feel much better about it. With the other children, I shared in the general fun and excitement of work and play, as well as some unanticipated disappointments and frustrated hopes. Each year from 1937 to 1947 I passed the ballet examination unnoticed. This was good, for many of the children, through letters addressed to their parents, received word that because of their lack of progress the theatre would no longer be able to keep them in the school, nor recommend that they continue in ballet. (p.39)
During these ten years, I was trained in the Bournonville school. There were six different classes, for the different days of the week. They were “set” and were repeated with hardly a change from the day you entered the school as a child, until you graduated, and continued on as a professional dancer. At that time the children received the same strenuous training as the adults. Everyone, whether a beginner or a member of the company, was given the same exercises.
The Bournonville school, as it is known up to this-day, was formed by teachers and ballet masters who followed him. It was based mostly on steps and variations that exist in his ballet productions. Apart from a few months of lessons from the ballet master during my last year, I knew as a student only the set Bournonville classes as they were taught then by the teachers who had charge of the children from their entrance up to the age of 18.
In the old school, the barre work was extremely short, fast and very strenuous on the legs! The centre work had very little adagio movement, and very few pirouette combinations of importance. The barre work was to warm up for variations which contained steps and movements which would be required in performance, and which were constructed mostly to strengthen jumps and beats. Some of these things are not used outside the Bournonville school. To me, however, they are not' lost steps. All my life I have attempted to master them, and I believe that they have great value when added to a good basic foundation. Properly applied, they are excellent for ballon, batterie and any allegro movement.
As it is known today, the Bournonville school is really more a choreographic style than a method of teaching. The style that this great choreographer created firmly established the Danish ballet and its traditions. Until ten years ago, this particular style was rarely seen outside Denmark. Then the Royal Danish Ballet began to visit some of the major cities in the western world. Several of Bournonville’s works were included in their repertoire, and for the first time an audience outside Denmark discovered his ballets and responded enthusiastically to them. London, Edinburgh, New York and other cities acclaimed his style as a new discovery. Indeed, it was entirely new to most of these audiences. Ever since it was created, this Bournonville style has been cherished by each generation of dancers in Denmark, and carefully passed on. From childhood, the dancers are taught the essence of a period that has long been forgotten everywhere else.
Bournonville was a great dancer who had been trained by some of the finest teachers in Paris during the first quarter of the nineteenth century. Had travelling been easier in those days, and had the status of the male dancer been more generally recognized by the European public, he might not have settled in Copenhagen. His choreography established the vital importance of the position of the male dancer. Because he was a strong dancer as well as a truly great choreographer, he created roles which remain a technical challenge to this day. He not only considered the man equal in importance to the ballerina, but in some ballets made him the central figure. As a result, the standard of the male dancer in the Royal Danish Ballet has always remained on a high level.
To some degree the Bournonville repertoire, in all its greatness, has perhaps kept Denmark from producing ballerinas in the style associated with and produced by the great Petipa ballets. However, Bournonville in no sense asked less of the ballerina, technically. In most of his ballets you will find her having to dance variations as strenuous and difficult as those of the leading male dancer, and in the pas de deux as conceived by him they often dance opposite one another executing the same steps. These were designed to stress the vitality and strength of the man, so sometimes they may have unjustly revealed the weaknesses of the ballerina. I am speaking only of the actual dancing in Bournonville’s ballets, and not of the characterizations, which in most cases were profoundly imagined, beautifully balanced, and in perfect accord with his themes and the means of expression of that period.
The Bournonville repertoire and school developed fine performers for one specific style. However, it did not produce dancers of sufficient range and versatility to meet the challenge of today’s ballets. Therefore, changes were made in the school.
In 1951 the Royal Danish Ballet had the good fortune to obtain the services of the great Mme Vera Volkova. When she arrived, the entire school was reorganized under her direction. Through her teaching and supervision of the school in general, she has improved the approach to the child, the student and the professional dancer in the various stages through which they must pass. She has raised the technical standards, developing dancers with a greater range, who are more adaptable to the various styles of contemporary choreographers. The present teachers, and especially the younger ones who developed under her guidance, have naturally been strongly influenced by her way of teaching. To many in Denmark this appears to be a revolutionary change, not in accordance with the long-established Bournonville traditions and the maintenance of the Bournonville repertoire. But, as anyone can see, the Danish dancers of today have a stronger and purer technique than ever before. Through the improvement of the school during the past ten years they are now capable of performing, and most successfully, works by such modern choreographers as Balanchine, Robbins, Ashton and Petit. Previously the new forms which they have created would have been entirely alien to the repertoire of the Royal Danish Ballet and the dancers trained exclusively in the Bournonville school.
Soon after I graduated in 1947, I had the opportunity to study in London and Paris, and to dance first with the Metropolitan Ballet in England and later, after a time at home, with the American Ballet Theatre. I began to get acquainted with different schools and to discover other ways of training and approach in the ballet world outside of Denmark. I began to understand the importance of a varied and well-rounded training. For a while I even wanted to forget all about the Bournonville school, while I was trying to strengthen these aspects of technique which it had perhaps neglected, while gaining new and important experience as a performer in a new and different repertory.
Then, in 1951, as I was leaving Copenhagen for my second tour with the American Ballet Theatre, our leading Danish ballet critic, Svend Kragh-Jacobsen, gave me, as a farewell present, a rare little book, «Etudes choregraphiques», written by Bournonville himself. It consists of various exercises, beginning at the barre, through centre work and concluding with combinations of steps designed to improve ballon and elevation. Bournonville dedicates this book to his pupils and his colleagues, the professional dancers. Perhaps at the time I received it I appreciated only the generous thought which prompted Mr. Kragh-Jacobsen to give it to me, and only vaguely realized that it was possibly also meant to be a reminder of my “past".
In 1959 I brought this little book to the United States and showed it to Lillian Moore. Her interest and enthusiasm, and her knowledge of the history and traditions of the Danish ballet, gave me perhaps my second reminder of my Bournonville background, as well as a deeper арpreflation of values I had taken for granted, and an insight into things I had not realized before, in any conscious way. (p40)
In studying Bournonville’s book, I have come to feel in some ways more in contact with him, and closer to understanding his aims, than when I was first taught his school. When he wrote it for his pupils and dancers, he stressed that they should apply the exercises according to their individual needs. These exercises were designed from his own personal experience as a dancer and teacher, and they prove his flexibility and his understanding of a dancer’s body. It is as though, in this book, Boumonville hands you personally and directly his vast knowledge of the ballet and the processes involved in making a dancer.
Some of Bournonville’s exercises are not known, or seldom practised today (or practised differently) outside Denmark. We are not trying to advocate them as a new system, method or secret. However, we think they have a definite value which would be beneficial as a supplement to any dancer's training, when applied correctly (as Bournonville insisted in his little book) by the teacher or the mature dancer himself. We submit them in the hope that they may prove part of the means with which to achieve greater knowledge and ever-expanding artistic experience.
 END
Foreword to "Choreographic Studies" by August Boumonville
Dance is an art, because it demands vocation, knowledge and ability. It is a fine art, because it aims towards an ideal, not only of plastic beauty, but also of lyric and dramatic expressiveness.
The beauty which it strives to attain is not founded on vague principles of fashion or mere enjoyment, but on the immutable laws of nature.
The art of mime encompasses all the changes of the soul: the dance is essentially fitted to express joy and to follow the rhythm of the music.
The purpose of art in general and of the theatre in particular (whether its direction be comic or tragic) is to elevate the soul and strengthen the spirit. The dance should, then, arm itself especially against the too pronounced preference of a blase public for effects which are contrary to good manners, good taste and the true interests of art.
Joy is strength; intoxication is weakness.  Noble simplicity will always be beautiful. The astonishing, on the contrary, soon becomes boring. The dance can, with the aid of music, raise itself to the heights of poetry, but on the other hand it can equally, through excess of acrobatics, descend to the stunts of the mountebank. So- called difficulties are executed by numerous adepts, but the appearance of ease is achieved only by the chosen few. The summit of talent is to know how to conceal the mechanism through the calm harmony which is the foundation of true grace.
To maintain this easy grace, in the midst of the most fatiguing movements, is the great problem of the dance, and such virtuosity cannot be acquired without good exercises, designed to develop the qualities and eliminate the imperfections which everyone, not even excepting the greatest talents,  is obliged to combat. It is such exercises which l present here to my dear pupils as well as to my worthy colleagues, reminding them of the oft-repeated saying, that it is not so much on the number of exercises. as on the care with which they are executedthat progress and skill depend.

Conversation with Erik Bruhn by Eugene Palatsky
Erik Bruhn, as co-author with Lillian Moore of Boumonville and Ballet Technique, suggests in his introductory remarks that the book’s lessons might aid the dancer “to achieve greater knowledge and ever-expanding artistic experience.”
An appropriate phrase, for such a purpose largely sums up Erik Bruhn’s career to date. From Copenhagen to London to Paris to America, and then ’round the world with American Ballet Theatre, he has constantly re-examined his art, sifting for new experiences, new meaning, profiting from each venture. Though it may seem to the audience on certain theatre nights that he could not surpass himself, Erik would retire immediately if he weren't certain of coming closer to perfection tomorrow.
Last May, the young man was home to his haven in Copenhagen, participating in the Royal Danish Ballet Festival. He stayed away from post-performance receptions, for minds like his stop functioning in the cocktail party atmosphere. Yet, a dancer who thinks deeply about his work wants to communicate, to hear how his ideas sound, if nothing else. This he did. in quiet, unhurried conversations away from the Royal Theatre.
His thoughts revealed his concentration on the idea of giving more of himself through dance — not in generosity to the audience, but as mental-physical release, total expression, as though he were trying to say something with every fiber of his body and brain. He has varied his dance associations over the years to broaden. intensify and polish this release.
As for his original reason for leaving the Danish ballet in 1947 and going to England. Erik Bruhn doesn't intellectualize. He merely felt “wrong” in the then Boumomille-dominated classes and repertoire and felt the need to broaden his experience.
Returning periodically in guest capacity. Erik Bruhn seems to dance best in Copenhagen. In the classical pas de deux, in Chopiniana particularly, and even in the raucous  Carmen, he softens his virtuosity with a poetic restraint, a gentle masculinity. that is sometimes lacking in New York. At home he pours forth a noble excellence which seems to summarize his worldwide experience.
In England, on his first contact with the outside world, he saw all that was then new in ballet — Sadlers Wells, Rambert, (p.41) the de Basil Co., Petit, Babilee. He was amazed at the variety of expression.
He joined Metropolitan Ballet, the respectable touring company which lasted three years in postwar Britain. One-week stands, dirty hotels, bad food. “But we danced everything.” Two teenagers, Erik Bruhn and Svetlana Beriosova,  danced Spectre de la Rose. Often he was thrown into performance after semi-rehearsal, with colleagues cueing him from the wings. “This is the great challenge. Now you must show what you are, what your training has meant. You must create onstage, sometimes just improvising.”
Bruhn enlarged his repertoire and vocabulary in Metropolitan Ballet. During a summer of classes in Paris, he tried to “consolidate” his new technique, to the point of wrenching a knee, which troubled him for years after.
Blevins Davis, a patron of Ballet Theatre, spotted him in Copenhagen in 1949, and Erik Bruhn was subsequently invited to join the company. That November he made his American debut as Benno, supporting Nana Gollner and Igor Youskevitch in a Baltimore Swan Lake. His early parts were Orestes in Helen of Troy, a Pink Boy in Theme and Variations, Paris in Romeo and Juliet, and an occasional Nutcracker pas de deux or Prince Charming. Yet his progress was not too rapid. Though he kept reappearing for Ballet Theatre seasons, he would return each summer to Copenhagen.
It was not until 1954 that he determined, “I will go back to Ballet Theatre, and stay there. If I make mistakes, I will correct them there.” He began to understand that each performance was an accumulation of everything that had gone before, good and bad. He realized that he must step on stage each night and dance with all his strength… then reflect between performances…   and dance the next night with new thoughts on the subject, recreating everything.
The key moment is at curtain time, when “you bring all this accumulation to bear, remove you from yourself, and let it happen.”
Ballet Theatre, for him, allowed this type of maturing process. Performances night after night, quick cast changes, hard work, overwork - far different from the security and complacency of a state theatre. Each night was a new challenge, and the young Dane made it a useful one. The payoff came at the storied matinee in May, 1955, when he danced Giselle with Alicia Markova at the Metropolitan Opera House, and the world had a new premier danseur.
Giselle had been under-rehearsed. But he absorbed everything he could from talks with Markova. “She explained just what her character was doing at each moment. Then it was simple. I could naturally respond, and find my place. When it was over, I didn’t know quite what had happened. But it had all seemed very natural.”
This ability to comprehend the theatrical purpose of each movement and moment has been vital in his artistic development. He has enjoyed collaborating with Birgit Cullberg, watching her drive ahead intensely with her dramatic development, then filling in the sketch with significant movement. He realizes that mime is not separate from dancing, that a pirouette can be happy or - as with Jean, the butler - hateful.
During the three months he spent with the New York City Ballet in 1959-60, he learned to understand and appreciate George Balanchine.
За три месяца,  проведенные с the New York City Ballet в 1959-1960 годах, он научился понимать и ценить Джорджа Баланчина.
Erik disagrees with the City Center dancers who sometimes complain that Balanchine speaks to them only in technical terms, ignoring the mood and meaning.
“If you watch him while he is counting ... he doesn’t exactly demonstrate . . . but his body inflection, his facial expression indicate everything he wants.
I learned his Swan Lake by watching him work with Maria Tallchief. As he talked to her, guiding her through the adagio, he unconsciously moved about, reacting to her movements . . . and I knew then what I should be doing as the Prince.”
He observed that a new Balanchine ballet reaches its peak performance six months after the premiere — “because Balanchine and the dancers keep working on it.” Erik Bruhn disapproves of the too- secure company which studies a ballet for three months, shows in the premiere what it has prepared, and then repeats that single interpretation on succeeding nights.
He would like to dance again with the Balanchine company, “maybe to finish learning Apollo.” But he is vague about the future. He maintains a principal goal — perfection as a dancer-person - yet he prefers to have no pattern of existence, allowing his opportunities to just happen.
He is reputed to be an excellent teacher, and he enjoys teaching. Many Danes hope he will someday be ballet master of the Royal Danish Ballet. Teaching company class occasionally in Copenhagen during the festival, he was very demanding of the boys — naturally, for he demands the impossible of himself. He spoke severely to a budding ballerina in the company, telling her she must now forget what the teacher had said about the Don Quixote variation, and rethink it herself. “You have taken, taken, taken from your teachers. Now you must give something.” Again, he meant “giving” as self-expression, release.
Choreography still interests him; but he has composed no complete work since Festa (Ballet Theatre Workshop, 1957), which had artful moments worthy of another try. He gathers pieces of music from time to time, and stores them away until he should again feel the choreographic urge.
Erik Bruhn expresses his appreciation for help received from teachers, partners, choreographers and directors — if he is specifically asked. He is not ungrateful, but he seems to rely on no one. Viewing his career as an introspective study, he reflects on his needs and weaknesses, and solves them himself, whether they be emotional dilemmas or a suspected flaw in his dance technique.
Some wavering confidence is balanced by his shining, underplayed comic sense.
Perhaps his vigorous forefathers, the Vikings, were like handsome, searching Erik Bruhn - for they, too, were world conquerors.

Secret method to make money online autopilot for lifetime 2020
New Post has been published on https://emarketingshare.com/secret-method-to-make-money-online-autopilot-for-lifetime-2020/
Secret method to make money online autopilot for lifetime 2020
There are several ways to make money online
The main focus of this topic is to give you a true working autopilot method, experienced by real users in 2020.
Please don’t foget to like, comment and share to help us feed you with more and more methods 😉
So let’s begin !
Requirements
This is a Complete Original Lizard Legs Money Making Method That:
Doesnt require a functioning website and the things that go with it like building it, SEO, PPC, Traffic etc. (BUT… you will need a domain name.)
Almost anyone can do. (I say almost cause some people just…)
Will only require $10 – $40 upfront costs. (Domain for sure which can be purchased real cheap and maybe some other costs we will discuss later)
Expectations :
This is the easiest method to make money I know.
I can almost guarantee it will make you money but it all boils down to how you roll with my method.
I’ve had 4 of my friends try this out.
One of them made $80 within a 3 hour window. NO BS.
The others all made some OK pocket change the first month.
2 gave up cause they are lazy and that’s a shame.
The other 2 continued and are making pretty good money for doing pretty much nothing!
My best single day over the last 6 years or so Ive been doing this was $350.
With many $200 and $100+ days.
The more you do this the more you make as you build your Portfolio of people under your Affiliate code.
So, if you’re like me and have done this for a long while, you don’t have to do anymore work, its all recurring $$ on auto pilot.
The monetizing method steps:
1) you will sign up to be an Affiliate for
2) you will buy a domain and forward that domain to your new Affiliate link
3) get some business card sized flyers made up (you can do it yourself with your own printer or pay the printer to do it. Its fairly cheap either way)
4) Go for a walk to your local mall, plaza, movie theater, laundry mats, grocery stores, sign posts, bus stop posts etc. And hand out your little flyers on cars, posts, boards etc. (but use common sense on where YOU decide to do it as there are laws on this stuff).
5) Go home and wait for your $$ to roll in
Last Secret factor changing game :
Here’s a great factor to consider…
The Affiliate you promote has LIFETIME cookies. So, you make money each time they use the service (which can be alot!).
Unlike others that are a 1 sale only.
They do all the selling and heavy lifting.
You just tell people where to go and get their FREE ????
The famous SECRET REVEALED:
Because Sharing is all what emarketingshare is about we share with you the weapons you need for this
The Affiliate is :
  PSYCHICACCESS.COM
You Can Sign Up HERE: http://psychicaccess.com/webmasters/
You get 50 cents a minute for each reading… FOR LIFE !!! That means monthly recurring income!!!!
The best part is…. they offer a FREE 6 MINUTE READING… This is what lures the people in.
This is what you are offering people.
A Free Reading! Nothing to Sell!!!
The PsychicAccess.com site at the top says “New Customers Get A FREE 6-Minute Reading, No Credit Card Required!.” – GOLD !!!!!
They get the FREE reading… the psychic sells them.. the customer needs to know more so, they pay for a reading and you BANK ! For LIFE !
Some people spend $100’s a month on Psychic readings.. and you make HALF each time !!! Every month !!! For Years !!! I know I do !!!!
The Domain:
Pick a good Psychic sounding domain thats SHORT and easy to Spell… Then just simply forward the domain to your new Psychic Access Affiliate link.
The Flyers:
Your flyer is simply an offer to get a FREE PSYCHIC READING… Thats it! Youre giving away FREE PSYCHIC READINGS. The Flyer should say… Get A Free Psychic Reading – Go to XXX.com and a little pic of something Psychic related. Feel free to add more to it like: find out this/that, money, career, is he cheating, etc.Just dont forget to put YOUR DOMAIN NAME ON IT so they know where to go to get it !I would make about 9 flyers per 8×11 page. I did mine myself in Photoshop. Got 500 printed and cut at the local printer for cheap. Black and White. Nothing fancy, just something eye catching and FREE in big letters.
The Places:
The main Demographics for people who get readings are around a 60% female and 40% male. In the age range of 25-40+. Working class/blue collar everyday people. So, put your flyers on: – Car windshields in mall/plaza/movie theater parking lots – LaundryMat / Grocery Store bulletin boards – By busy bus stops so people waiting for the bus have something to do! etc etc etc….You can even post ads on Classified sites.

Greenwood Academy Part 2
The train stopped suddenly, jerking Sadie from her dreams of Mother Dear and her family left behind in Alabama. “GREENWOOD STAY-SHUN!!!” cried the conductor.  Sadie gathered her things quickly and shuffled off of the train.
“Excuse me Miss, you dropped this,” said a deep voice.
“Oh, thank you Mister-Uh,” Sadie mumbled while distractedly fumbling with her handbag.
“Montgomery. Ezekiel Montgomery.” He looked at her, smiling.
His hand was outstretched, holding the envelope containing the letter from Greenwood. Sadie was not used to being speechless. Ezekiel stood several inches taller than her with a figure more representative of a bronze statue than a man. The right sleeve of his shirt was pinned back, revealing that he was missing an arm. She snatched the letter, clutching it to her chest. It would be horrible if this letter became lost. It was a source of comfort to her now.
“Thank you again, Mr. Montgomery,” she said curtly.
She turned and walked briskly. Picking up her luggage and heading from the station, she thought of her parent’s anxious faces. Best not to talk to strangers.
It wasn’t until she had put several feet of distance between her and the train station that she began to get distracted by all of the lovely shops. Ice cream parlors, deli counters, local grocers, and a butcher shop. There were restaurants with the finest smells wafting through the air, a bookstore, and a theater. She hadn’t been to a theater since New Orleans. Sadie then found herself in front of The Cypress Inn, a small, yet beautiful brick building adorned with pink roses. She had easily navigated the local streets as she had purchased and studied a guide to Greenwood as soon as she had accepted the teaching position. Preparation was key to everything she did.
The Cypress Inn was the most quaint building that Sadie had ever had the pleasure of being inside of. A deep green wallpaper containing bouquets of pink flowers greeted her at every turn, and the faint smell of peppermint lingered in the air. A deep feeling of coziness enveloped her.
“Hello, um—excuse me Ma’am,” Sadie said softly.
“WILL YOU GET THAT ROOM READY, GAL!! SLOW AS MOLASSES!!”
A very short woman had shoved her way into the room, fussing as she organized some pencils and paper behind her desk. Sadie wasn’t sure that she was able to even see over it. She tried again.
Clearing her throat, she said, “Hello, excuse me. I would like to inquire about a room.” She whisked back a curl that had escaped from her tidy bun and fallen over her brows.
The little woman raised her head and a smile spread across her face. Like a flash, she stumbled up a few steps and was at eye level with Sadie. Sadie smirked. She knew that lady couldn’t see over the counter.
“Why, Little Josephine is that you?” the lady asked wide-eyed. “Your mother didn’t tell me that you were coming back into town. Look at you! All gussied up.”
“No Ma’am. My name is Sadie Latimer,” she said, a little louder than necessary.
“HA! Should’ve known. You much too pretty to be Josephine!” she cackled, “WELL, what can I do for ya?”
“I’m looking for a room for the night. I guess in my haste to get into town, I arrived a day earlier than I expected.”
“Oh. SURE! SURE! Cost is 50 cents per night. Check out is at 10 a.m. Is that gonna work for you, darlin’?“ she said as she grabbed her room log.
“Yes, Ma’am,” Sadie said eagerly.
“Oh heck girl. You can call me Mrs. Johanna. If you need anything you can ask for me, as I run this establishment.” Mrs. Johanna smiled broadly.
“Oh lovely,” Sadie fumbled in her handbag, searching for her coin purse. In frustration she muttered to herself. After a few more moments, she was able to reveal two shiny quarters as payment.
Mrs. Johanna was a talkative woman. Sadie barely had time to catch her breath or add anything constructive to the conversation as they ascended the stairway.
“Where are you from, Miss Latimer?” she asked.
“Uh, Alabama, Ma’am,” Sadie said awkwardly, tripping over her feet.
“Oh, Alabama? That’s nice, that’s real nice. I have family out there. An uncle and a few cousins. They own a nice little patch of farming land in M-M—Oh my goodness, I forgot the name. Anyway, I remember that Uncle Julius was trying to get us to move back down there after Bartholomew died. But, I says to him, ‘Now who in the world am I going to get to run the inn if I’m livin’ down there with you all?’”
Sadie was in disbelief at Mrs. Johanna’s ability to climb the stairs and rush through conversation while bringing the trunk upstairs. She had magicked the trunk so that it was lighter but it was still very heavy. As Mrs. Johanna continued on, her voice became dim. Sadie caught whiffs of things like the words “Boy” and “Jail” and “His poor mama” but she wasn’t listening with the attention that it deserved.
Before she knew it, she had collapsed on a very fluffy quilted bed full of pillows. The room was just as quaint as downstairs had been. Beautiful paintings and cross stitches hung from the walls. She quickly unpacked her bags, finding a place for everything, and gazed out the window. It overlooked the street, making it that much easier to people-watch. With so many people moving about, Sadie felt the sudden urge to explore town. She grabbed her handbag and key and darted out of the room and down the stairs.
“Are you following me?” A familiar deep voice asked, jokingly.
It was Ezekiel, from the station. He had startled her; she had been mere seconds away from tripping over him.
“I could ask you the same thing,” she huffed, side-stepping him. “Do you always follow girls from the train station?”
“Only the ones that leave an impression,” he said smoothly.
Mrs. Johanna once again entered the room with a loud boom. Though the noise had made them both jump, Sadie was grateful for the distraction. She had turned a violent shade of red and was betrayed once more by her rebellious curl falling out of place.
“I SEE YOU’VE MET MY BABY BOY!” Mrs. Johanna announced, her voice echoing in the room. She dashed between them beaming. “HE’S JUST COME BACK FROM EUROPE!”
“Europe? A soldier?” Sadie mused.
“Yeah! Went off to war and fancy himself roaming the countryside! Bout scared me halfta death! Had me sending letters to all those hospitals—” Mrs. Johanna began.
“Mama—” Ezekiel frowned.
“AND THEN I GET SOME LETTER ABOUT HIM STAYING THERE!!” she smacked his shoulder.
“Mama, I just— I just needed some time,” he said. It was now his turn to be embarrassed it seemed. He fumbled, rubbing his hand across his brow.
“Well, I don’t care about the details. I’m just glad you’re home!” Mrs. Johanna beamed. With impressive strength, she gave him the biggest bear hug, lifting him slightly off the ground. Sadie couldn’t help but smile. Mrs. Johanna was a force.
“Where you headed off to, darlin’?” she said, now remembering that Sadie was in the room.
“I was thinking of exploring a bit. I passed a few stores on my way here and I’d like to get a little more familiar with town,”  Sadie said quickly.
“IS THAT RIGHT? I HAVE AN IDEA!” she clapped, “Can’t see a new town without a tour guide! Zeke! Why don't you show Miss Latimer around! I’m expecting a package from Mr. Wallace down there at the mail carriers. You can get it on the way,” Mrs. Johanna continued, grabbing Ezekiel’s luggage.
Before either of them had the chance to refuse, Mrs. Johanna had pushed them out and closed the door. They looked at each other, Ezekiel shrugging before heading down the front steps.
The walk through town was pleasant. Shop owners from just about every store stopped them to greet Ezekiel as they passed. And Mr. Wallace held them up for an extra 30 minutes as he took a bit of time lightly scolding Ezekiel for “worrying his mama.”
“You’re quite popular around here,” Sadie said, shaking her head and giggling as they exited the postal office.
“Oh that?” Ezekiel said pointing at Mr. Wallace, “He’s just sweet on my mama.”
They both laughed heartily.
“Hey, Miss Latimer...You like ice cream?” he said abruptly.
“It’s Sadie. And I LOVE it,” she smiled.
Two butter pecan cones later, they found themselves sitting outside of Mr. Jenkins’ ice cream parlor on the curb like best friends of years past.
“I can’t believe that you know so much about plants.” Sadie said grinning. He had pointed out just about every species of plant life that grew in the patches of grass they passed on their way to the shop.
“It’s an old hobby,” he said, returning the smile, “used to get made fun of for it growing up.”
Sadie grabbed a newspaper that had been ditched nearby and Ezekiel busied himself with a small leather bound journal that he seemed to make appear out of nowhere. There was a light breeze that she was thankful for because it was such a warm day.
“Hey, what’s that?” Sadie asked, eyeing the journal.
“Oh, umm...something I’m working on,” Ezekiel raced to hide the journal as Sadie reached across his midsection, grasping at it.
Before she had a chance to object. A loud greeting caught their ears.
“Hey ya Zeke!” a freckled, auburn haired man about their age called out.
“Oh my goodness. Chuck, is that you?” Ezekiel, jumped up quickly extending his hand for a handshake.
“Yeah, Man. Your mama said you’d be back soon. I’m glad I caught ya. It’s been a month of Sundays since I seen you around these parts!” Chuck beamed, “Who’s your lady friend?” he said, raising his eyebrows in Sadie’s direction.
“Oh,” fumbled Ezekiel, “This is Sa — I mean, Miss Latimer. She’s new in town. Ma thought it would be a good idea to show her around.”
“Pleasure,” Sadie nodded, extending her hand as well.
Just then, a man bumped into Chuck and continued moving at a frantic pace across the street.
“Hey Man! What’s your problem?” Chuck yelled, following after the man to a group of agitated people huddled on the corner.
“Chuck!” Ezekiel called out, “Man, same ole Chuck. Starting fights.” He shook his head.
Chuck and the man started to engage in deep conversation and suddenly he turned and called to Ezekiel, waving them both across. Puzzled, Ezekiel and Sadie crossed the street, abandoning the day’s newspaper.
—
“They’re gonna kill that boy if we don’t do something about it!” an authoritative voice rose above the crowd.
“We have to do something!” rang out another.
Ezekiel and Sadie made it to Chuck’s side. He was engrossed in the conversation happening before them.
“Hey, Chuck, what’s going on?” Ezekiel asked in a hushed whisper.
“They have the Rowland boy up there at the jailhouse,” Chuck said quickly, “They’re saying that he attacked some little white girl in an elevator.”
“What?!” Ezekiel said, shocked.
“Yeah, ‘course there’s nothing he could say once she said that,” Chuck said bitterly. “There’s been some talk about a mob outside the jail, they wanna lynch the poor kid,” he breathed deep, “This group here is talking about going over there to watch over everything, make sure the kid sees another tomorrow ya know? Thinking about heading over there with them.”
Ezekiel’s eyes widened. He gently guided Sadie to the side. He met her eyes with furrowed brows and for the first time, she noticed that his eyes were light brown with specks of gold throughout.
“What are you thinking?” she asked, searching his face.
“I-I think I should go with them,” he said staring down at his shoes, “I know Rowland, he’s a good kid. And we know how things could go.”
She shook her head knowingly, “Yeah. You should go. At least then we can figure out what’s going on.”
They exchanged knowing smiles and after a brief pause, he said, “They’re headed out now. Do you want me to walk you back to The Cypress first?”
“Oh, no. I know the way. Umm...maybe I should take that,” she said, pointing at the parcel in his left hand.
“Yes. Yes of course,” he said, placing it in her palm, “Do me a favor...Can you tell my mom where I’m off to? She’ll throw a fit if she thinks that I abandoned you.”
She chuckled, “Yeah, wouldn’t want that.”
And with that they gave each other one last look. There was too much to be said in the short amount of time that they had known each other. He raced over, matching the pace of his friend’s stride as they headed off to the jail.
There was a sense of calm that fell over Sadie as she walked back toward the small brick building of The Cypress Inn. The smell of peppermint caught in her nose immediately as she walked up the steps and through the doors. Briefly, she updated Mrs. Johanna, who was annoyed by her son’s “hero complex” and thanked her for bringing the package. She climbed the stairs quickly and pulled out a delicate sheet of stationary with the intention of writing her mother. She accomplished writing the date May 31, 1921 in the top right corner but the bed was so comfortable and inviting, and she soon fell asleep with the cool breeze wafting through the cracked window.

How much damage will the other drivers insurance have to pay?
My son was involved in a collision this morning. The driver of the other vehicle pulled out right in front of him and he rear-ended them. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for failure to yield and the state trooper that handled the accident said that the collision was unavoidable on my sons part. The question concerning me is that my son did not pay anything for the car he was driving because it was given to him by my daughter. The car has a salvage title because it had apparently been totalled before but had been restored. The car probably would not be worth very much even had it never been in an accident because it is a 1986 year model Pontiac 6000. Now he is without transportation unless I provide it. Will they only be required to pay a salvage price for damages or what?

Instead of buying auto insurance is there a way to just have a savings account just for $coverages?

When is it too late to make a car insurance claim?
About 3-4 months ago I was parked in a supermarket car park. My mum, opened the passenger door where the wind blew and hit the car next to us. Upon packing the car, the passenger in the alleged 'chip' car stated that their car was damaged- the damage was barely even visible- something you would expect as a driver to occur. I even questioned whether that 'damage' was the fault of ours because the car was that battered. Anyway, 3 months later I received a letter stating that I was involved in an accident on the 21st of June. This date is also incorrect where this 'accident' actually happened on the 1st May (my car insurance renewal date). My insurance know this happened in this time as I called them to ask what may occur. Could anyone provide me with details of when it is the latest time to make a claim. Also, what would usually happen for the 'chip' in question since I know this day that it allegedly happened was a lie. (UK answers only please)""

Who needs insurance?
Auto insurance is a hit or miss conception with police enforcement doing the insurance company's work for them. Too many drivers have no insurance leaving responsible drivers to pick up their tab. Why don't we tack on 10 or twenty cents per gallon at the gasoline pump to go for insurance. If you don't buy gas for your car, you're not going to be able to drive. That way, if you drive, you automatically have insurance. This frees up police to do real cop work, cuts down on the cost and makes sure everyone who drives has insurance. Whadya think?""

Best way to get car insurance?
I have heard that it may be better to get car insurance from a broker rather than online. I am 18, and I want to get my own policy. I am currently a named driver on my dads policy, as it is much cheaper to do it that way but I want to buy a car in my name and start earning my own ncb. I currently drive a Jaguar X Type and the insurance costs 2100 from Tesco (with my dad as the main driver). It would cost me about 3200 to insure it myself with Tesco. I want to get a smaller car that is easier on petrol and road tax, but I am having trouble finding a realistic quote. I am thinking about either a Smart Roadster coupe, a honda civic or ford fiesta. With Tesco, I dont get 1 year ncb as I would have done with Direct Line, and the insurance would be OK if I did. Its tempting me to lie on the insurance if I cant find a decent quote (under 2000), although I wouldn't want to. Is the issue access to good health insurance or is it access to good healthcare?

I hear about all of this debating and I want to ask what is the real issue that everyone cares about correct me if I am wrong but I think it is access to dependable and reputable healthcare. The next issue I have, Is it wise to put health care interests in the hands of for profit enterprise. Now this is not an attack on health insurance companies but it is a question to the average person. I have read countless stories of people who thought they had good insurance for years all of the sudden they get sick the insurance pays the lowest possible cost and then cancels their coverage. Or here is another example, former health insurance employees tell of how draconian the companies are that they have worked for when it comes paying for coverage they would rather cancel people's policy. I am forced to wonder how long will it be before doctor's and nurses will be required to have an M.B.A. as a prerequisite for practicing medicine. I am all for free enterprise but something just does not sound right when you have an entire industry based on the soaring cost of healthcare and people's inability to pay for it. Seems that you are at the mercy of your insurance company at the time that you need them most. It seems that access to healthcare has been debated and put on the back burner for over 50 years combined with the fact that the people making the decisions regarding healthcare access rarely have to concern themselves with access to healthcare for themselves or their families, I'm just wondering how much longer is this cycle going to continue before something tangible gets done. I'm not saying healthcare should be totally free. I'm not saying that healthcare costs should destroy the middle class either. I definitely think that a for profit company priorities are to make a profit and answer to stockholders where does the patient come in on this equation. Does anybody out there have any viable solution or are we doomed to keep repeating the same mistake over and over again where the bottomline seems to be when all is said and done when it comes to healthcare access you have to fend for yourself.""

I was driving my fiancs car and I wasnt on his insurance, his insurance company said that they wouldnt cover his car because I wasnt on the insurance but they covered the other car and that was the last of it until 6 months later we buy a new car and cancel that insurance and get new insurance for both cars and we added me on it. A few weeks later we get a phone call from the old car insurance company saying we need to pay them back for the other car which was close to 8,000 bucks we asked them why we are just now hearing about this we were never not once told we would have to pay anything and 6 months later you call us and tell us to pay you 8 grand all they had to say was sorry you werent contacted sooner they said they mailed us stuff but we didnt get anything. They mailed us a letter saying what they policy was saying that the reason we have to pay them is because it was a MATERIAL MISS REPRESENTATION we thought something isnt right so we took it to a lawyer and he said it cant be a material mss representation because that mean they wouldnt have covered me if I were on the policy which isnt true because my driving record was PERFECT not one thing wrong with it. TREND: Americans Lower Taxes by Retiring Overseas —Internationalliving.com
BALTIMORE/APRIL 10, 2018 (STLRealEstate.News) — The average American household spends $2,197 on property taxes each year. But in some states—like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and California—property taxes are typically much, much higher. Plus with new laws in place that restrict the deduction of state property taxes from federal returns, home owners—especially in those high-tax states—are likely to pay more than ever.
However, it’s possible to slash property-tax rates by as much as 99% by moving overseas to countries like Ecuador, Mexico, and Portugal, according to a new report from International Living.
The report points to destinations where expats say they have seen significant savings in their tax bills.
“If you’ve been paying $7,000 a year in state property tax in New Jersey on a home worth $300,000, you should know: There are places around the world where you could slash that tax burden to as little as $200 a year on a comparably priced property,” says Jennifer Stevens, Executive Editor, International Living.
“Tax savings is one of the single biggest ways expats report that they save when retiring overseas. Of course, they’re also typically spending less on day-to-day expenses as well, from food to household help to electricity and water.”
According to International Living’s new report, here are three countries where it’s easy to spend less on property tax and thus lower the cost of living in retirement.
Ecuador
Property taxes in Ecuador are among the lowest in the world. Even on a large house, annual property taxes rarely amount to more than $100, and it is unusual to see a capital gains tax of more than a few hundred dollars. Many American retirees are enjoying the savings they’ve made with a move to this South American gem.
“[In the States,] my condo’s annual property tax was just under $5,000. Added to that, I used to pay $350 monthly for my home owners’ association fee—now it’s [increased to] $468 every month, according to my former next-door neighbor,” says expat Bartley D’Alfonso of his life in the U.S.
That condo, in Orange, CA, was a single story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit, about 1,000 square feet in size. When D’Alfonso began to feel the pinch of trying to live on his Social Security in the States, he moved to the highland university town of Cuenca, Ecuador to lower his costs and his stress level.
He sold his California condo and bought a newly built one in Cuenca. “My three-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-story condo [in Cuenca] cost $115,500 and—get this—my annual property tax was $88 in 2015… $55 in 2016…and I paid $44 in 2017.”
On January 8 of this year, Bartley went to the city municipal office to pay his annual property tax. “I expected to pay $22 this year. So, when the clerk told me how much was due, I was shocked at the amount: 57 cents. Compare that to living in California.”
This shockingly low figure was due to reductions including Bartley’s 50% senior citizen discount and a 10% discount for paying during the first 10 days of January.
So, what does Bartley do with all the money he saves by living in Ecuador? “For starters, keep watching as my wallet and bank account get fatter,” he says. “I’m also able to take tour bus trips to visit nearby towns and villages. Recently, I installed a Jacuzzi in my patio, after remodeling the cement walls with ceramic tiles, and treated myself to a new—and well deserved—professional digital camera and lens kit.
Mexico
U.S. citizens are also saving thousands of dollars on their tax bills each year by moving to Mexico. It is quite common in Mexico to have annual property taxes of $100 or less, and they seldom run higher than about $300. Scot and Vicki Lyall had been coming to the town of Playa del Carmen, on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, for years for vacations. But when the opportunity came up to buy a two-bedroom condo in a beachfront building at a good price 11 years ago, they jumped at the chance.
The Lyalls have seen a major cut in their cost of living since moving down, especially in basic living expenses. “Overall, it’s 50% of what you would pay in the U.S. for the same standard of living,” says Scot.
Their HOA fees are $125 a month: That covers the meticulously landscaped grounds, 24-hour guard, a maid for the common areas, and a community pool. Their property taxes come to just $140 a year.
Similarly, Scottie and Jim Watson, have lived in Playa del Carmen for seven years. They live in a modern condo building just off the beach and a quick walk from the main street of Quinta Avenida. They have a pool right outside their sliding glass doors.
“It’s less expensive to exist down here,” says Jim, who reports they pay $200 a year in tax on their condo. “That’s instead of paying $6,000 to $8,000 in property taxes back home. So we indulge ourselves and have a cleaning lady, which we wouldn’t have had in the States.”
Portugal
Portugal offers arguably the lowest cost of living in Western Europe today. Its rich culture, historic towns, temperate climate, low costs, and diverse landscapes are attracting American retirees in increasing numbers.
When compared to the U.S., property tax in Portugal is a third of the national average and a quarter of California’s property tax. Annual property taxes depend on the type of property.
Tax is based on the rateable value of the property not the real value. The rateable value for urban property is lower than the real market value and is based on a percentage scale ranging from 0.3% to 0.8% depending on the age of the property, the Municipal Council Area the property is in, size, level of luxury, and a few other factors.
Five years ago, International Living Correspondent, Tricia Pimental and her husband moved to Portugal. Not only did their day-to-day lifestyle improve but their cost of living plummeted at the same time.
“Keith and I immediately saw our expenses fall to between one-third and one-quarter of what they were back in the U.S. The truth is, almost everything in Portugal is less expensive,” says Tricia.
Tricia and Keith recently bought a five-bedroom house with mountain views sitting on four acres of landscaped property in the Beria Baixa region for $265,000.
“Our house has mixed property of rural and urban use. Its tax value is assigned by the nearby city of Fundão. Our tax bill is $673.39.”

Chapter 1: Cassiopeia
Chapter 1: Cassiopeia
The Showcase Special was a red brick building complex on Main and 6th in Corona, California. A concrete and metal sprawl jungle built in the mid 70’s. The shopping center the Special stood in housed a variety of Mexican botana markets selling treats, chile mangoes, pinatas and fire crackers. The Showcase Special bordered its north brick wall with a Coin-Op laundromat, next to that was a Chinese apothecary and foot massage day spa called the Jade where a 1 hour full body massages cost 20$ plus tip. The Chamber of commerce for the city was not sure what do with the plot of land, originally opening up the building area for venturing entrepreneurs and white businessmen, the shopping center became a mishmash of Central American check cashing and call centers, Chinese herb medicine women, an alcoholics anonymous coffee center, tweakers, prostitutes, punk rockers and skaters. So the city officials slowly let the line out on the potential for an upper crust shopping center and let it become the community hub of poor immigrants and transients nesting a run down strip mall with what little comforts they could establish from their former countries.
“Eso es un ‘gang bang’”
Armando, one of the taquero cooks on the flat-top grill of ‘Taco Super’ explained to Carl, the handicapped kid that frequented the strip mall daily. Armando laughed and looked over the dirty sneeze guard separating the clientele from the sweating cooks.
“How many friends you want for ‘gang bang’? Aguas Carlitos?”
Armando chuckled as he looked at Carls face trying to make out the sexual situation he described in detail.
“That’s gross Armando! Ewwwwwww!” Carl was starting to picture all the naked and perspiring bodies hovering over a taco and doing nasty things to it.
“Este pinche Carlitos ni sabe tetas!” Ener Montez, the chubby Mexican handling the boiling pots in the corner said without looking up from his slow and steady stirring.
Carl slapped his hands onto his thighs and kept a slowly burning yowl,
“How could you do that? EwwWWWWWwwwWW!”
Carl grabbed the neck of his tamarind soda and walked out the back exit of the taco shop as Armando and Ener continued cackling. The fly shield above the backdoor was old and blew loudly without providing the protection from the pestilent insects hovering above the hot pans of beef maws and tongue and carnitas and roasted serrano chiles and Carl walked out to the dumpster area where Moony was rolling a cigarette in his right hand and clasping a paper-bag wrapped bottle of whiskey in the other.
The Special was split into two businesses, by day the front foyer below the marquee served as a soda stand and record store, peddling beat up demoes in brown paper bags recorded in hot garages by shitty local teenage bands. The marquee lit up at night, blue fringe lining the white marble incandescent panels with stock black lettering displaying the weekly touring bands coming through town. The second business was a nightly affair, an all ages music venue that had no prejudice on what kind of weird and violent teenage angst was going to be screamed through the sound system. They had to constantly book acts, and the only way to pay for the overhead was to let them all play. Crust punks, smelling of plastic bottle, bottom shelf vodka would sew black and white patches to the only pair of jeans they owned around 5 o’clock in the evening, always with a dirty styrofoam cup begging for loose coin. The pyscho-billy kids walked around dripping of pomade and indifference that they had not been alive in the Greaser scene of the early 60’s, cuffed denim pants and smoothly combed hair that crested in an oily pompadour high fiving the sky and American Jesus in the clouds. The goths hated god, yuppies and nice cars, and made sure their eye-liner and black t-shirts reflected this sentiment on the off chance that a chipper ass soccer mom with a tight ass and a stroller full of impressionable toddlers crossed their paths. All the different kinds of metal kids hated being labeled a sub-genre of Metal that they were clearly not fans of. The Black Metal kids hated being associated with the drunk assholes that came to thrash metal shows, and the death metal kids never really said shit but hated all of the tools in the shed the same.
The gutter punks were friendly, usually playing a beat up guitar with 2 out of tune strings for money in front of the 99 Cent store so they could get a one of the many colorful homeless folk to buy them a 40 oz of Mad Dog or King Cobra. The homeless had their own rites and rituals and hierarchy of law on who slept in which dumpster lot and who would go to Cupids on Tuesdays to buy a bag of 99 cent hamburgers for the group, and who would suck a dealers dick for some smack and who would share the drugs, and who would keep a look out for the cops when they were using at the park or in the loading area behind the Special. The Cholos and Crazy Vatos Locos wore tight, sweat stained wife beaters and sagging baggy khakis and they were constantly seeking wandering eyes from a punk or metal kid so they could take his wallet or her purse and beat their ass. They carried around rolls of quarters they usually stole from the coin-op, they would hold the roll of quarters in their fists when they jumped some one, it was like getting hit in the face with a plank of wood, and cops couldn't confiscate it because it wasn't a gun or a blade. Most of the gangster Mexicans were kids, trying so hard to be hard, between the ages of 9 and 19, the older vatos were the scarier ones, old school cholo gangsters that got shit-faced on the weekends at a homies house, making carne asada and “pistiando” with chelas. There was an unspoken truce between the Mexican gangsters, the homeless drug addicts, the punkers and scenester kids, a mutual understanding of each others lot in this lower class social strata of suffering for scraps, they were in an accordance with one another, they hated the cops and rich yuppies.
Then there was Jay, an employee of the The Special record store and Soda stand. Working almost everyday from 10 in the morning until 5 at night, donning faded band shirts, glasses and a smoldering quiet demeanor, Jay stocked records, tapes and price tagged products and ran a paper printed cash out at the end of every shift. The Armenian owner of the Special, Rendy Smith Sami, was a kind man and a good boss, employing Jay for over 5 years and providing the only all ages venue and record store within a 100 mile radius. Jay would open the record store everyday, 4 aisles of halogen lit shiny plastic and vinyl, and everyday at 5, the daily sales button was hit on the register and the machine would buzz and chirp for 20 seconds carbon printing the haul for the day. Jay would wrap the cash out receipt around a small stack of 20 dollar bills walk up the stairs to Rendy’s office and drop it in the cash box outside his locked door. Everyday for 5 years, Jay would do this routine, with the carnival of characters and action right outside the doors of the special. Watching kids driving in from Anaheim and Los Angeles for a show that night, Jay watched them vigilantly, making sure they didn’t steal a secondhand Rick Springfield “Jesse’s Girl” single or a Donald Duck Pez dispenser.
Rendy was in the record store today, in the office, doing his weekly sales on a tattered spreadsheet, it was 4:55 in the afternoon and Jay was wiping down the soda counter and pouring a coffee for later.
Rendy came down the stairs from his office into the main aisle of records, pensively looking at the wooden display stands and holding his chubby chin with one hand, a look of frowned pondering wriggled its way onto his bushy eyebrows like a frightened caterpillar.
“We sell more CD discs than tapes Jay?”
He spoke a little louder than usual because the Addicts record that Jay had put on was still droning away on the store speakers.
“Just the older used ones, no one likes those new CDs you put out there. Shit is lame.” Jay didn’t look up from the cash register.
Rendy still had a puzzled look on his face, staring directly at the new Petunia Cooke albums he bought from his distributor. Petunia was hot, young and what little clothes she wore on the front of her Cd cover left his testosterone saturated Armenian imagination reeling.
“You no like Petunia?” Rendy asked with his eyes still fixed on the display stand and the pretty blonde pop-star on the front cover.
“She is sexy as hell, but i would rather put my head in the trash compactor than listen to that bullshit. It probably sounds the same.” Jay quickly glanced at the Petunia display stand.
“Sounds same? She sounds same as what?” Rendy was still imagining slow dancing with Ms. Cooke on a hill in the Armenian village he grew up in, under a gentle moonlight, the aroma of roast goat permeating the cool night air.
“She sounds like some one put her head in the trash compactor!” Jay held back a smirk and a giggle.
“Oh she sound like she dying, like she in the compactor.” His pronunciation of compactor sounded more like protractor, “she go ahhhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhh” partly screaming in pretend pain and trying to hit the high falsetto Petunia sings on her hit single “Candle Shade Babe”.
There was a ring of the bell above the front entrance door and a woman with slicked, crunchy hair sauntered briskly to the front counter where Jay was standing. She placed her briefcase on top of the glass counter without any regard to its flimsy and shitty craftsmanship.
“Where is your brother?” she said as she looked down into a yellow steno pad, scribbling nonsensical scratch.
Jay pushed the cash drawer of the register in until it made a click and rang a bell.
“He is out back with Moony, I mean Ronny I think…”
The staunch businesswomen slowed her writing and leered over the brims of her glasses with here piercing pupils and stared condescendingly at Jay,
“He is out back? Jaimie I need you both in here, I need to talk to Carl and his closest living relative and that is you, his sister.”
Rendy knew when the social worker for Jay and her brother Carl was here and when she meant business so he slipped out the fly trap of the back door and went to find Moony and Carl.
Ronny Maine was a 50 year old homeless man trapped in a 70 year olds’ decrepit body, resembling a leather bound book with pages hanging out the sides and corners. The years of amateur title boxing in Scotland had caught up with his rattling bones and stretched his sinewy tendons into a gelatin mush of heavy breathing and hand rolled cigarette juice. Everyone called him Moony because his big, puffy cheeks would get red and full when he drank and he looked like a smiling full moon.
“It is a pretty day when you stop blaming things and people for who you are. Stretch your arm.” Moony shook his left shoulder from the base and jiggled like a dying fish, “Your right arm as far as it can go. Go ahead. Take your right arm and stretch it out. Ain’t got a right arm?
Use your left arm.
Ain’t got arms anymore?
Use your legs and your toes.
Ain’t got legs no more?
Use your nose, or your eyebrows or your goddam tongue.”
Moony wasn't looking at anything but the sky behind the dumpster.
“I know you got a right arm, I see it right there, your right arm is right there boy!”
Moony’s own right arm pointed down ecstatically at Carl’s right arm, buried and sheltered by his black sweater and hunched right shoulder. Moony’s eyes spoke as loudly as his slow rolling mouth,
“Take your arm and shove it out straight like this
and point your finger straight at anything you want.” Moony kept pointing and building a louder voice.
“It’s not their fault, it’s not your fault, its nobodies fault, stop trying to put that weight on someone else. That weight, that shame, that pain, that twitch and tick was always there my boy. And you gonna have it until the good Lord Jesus calls you home, and you might even have it still there up in heaven.”
Carl slowly slid both of his arms from his bottom and dragged them on the concrete. He wriggled his fingers and wiggled them like it was the first time he had seen his own hands. Carl and Moony stood there by the dumpster for the better half of 3 minutes.
Carl made a maddening fist and then slowly let it go.
The red and strained skin released as veins fed to the rest of his appendages and bled into an off white color of skin he could recognize as normal. Moon took a swig off the brown bag in hist left hand and wiped 3 beads of slowly creeping sweat from his left eye brow without winking or squinting.
Carl became vocal and interjected loudly,
“This is not me and I am not me or you Moony… I am me” Carl proclaimed as he watched his hands.
Moony smiled.
“That’s exactly what Paco said to Harvey when both him and Harvey landed on the planet of Mandoloids. Tired and angry at one another. Being a bunch of assholes.”
Moony looked off at the wispy heat of clouds rising into evaporated nothing.
“Harvey and Paco had been in that junk heap of a space ship for the better half of 7 months, floating around out there in the Cassiopeia constellation system. Lots of big bright super nova’s and swirling and quiet space dust and they were stuck in this greasy sail ship of the sky.”
A wiry and subtle smile started to take shape at the right side of Carls mouth, “They were flying out there? They were flying out there in outer space huh? Moon? They were making dinners in the spaceship?”
Moony smiled with the bottle in his mouth and spilled cheap, bottom shelf whiskey on his chest.
“Hell yeah they were making all kinds of food on that spaceship, thats why it was so greasy. The both of them were on a mission, but the space council made sure they could eat all the things they liked. Plenty of helpings of canned beans and sauce and freeze dried pork bits and crispy plantain chips and banana mush. They had onions and potatoes and Paco would cook one night and Harvey would take kitchen duties, they ate really well, probably better than they would eat here on earth.”
Carls smirking mouth changed from a half built smile to him licking his lips,
“They eatin’ bananas and fried pork?”
“Not just that, they had 9 barrels of flour and oil so they could make tortillas and breads and they were eating a finer way than any of the kings and presidents and emperors here.” Harvey finished the last 2 sips of his whiskey,
“They had to eat well on the count of them searching for the Mandoloids and the bomb they were making. Harvey needed at least 8 hours of sleep and Paco couldn’t disarm a thing if he wasn’t eating good, wholesome meals.”
Rendy was standing to the left corner of the dumpster that Moony was standing and listening with a dumb smirk.
“When NASA disbanded and they became the Solar Security Agency, they were trying to protect our little rock from all the riffraff and space trash trying to hurt us. They sent these hunks of steel out from every part of the globe with two men, one was the Captain and the other was a disarmer. The Captain was older, seen some shit. The disarmer was younger, usually a Mexican, Black or Chinese and they were there to help the captain and cook and when the time came, they were there to disarm the Mandaloid planet bombs. Harvey and Paco were sent to the Cassiopeia constellation to hit every planet orbitting a star. The Mandoloids were vultures up in the desert sky but they killed planets and life before any other living thing could get to it. That was the real Space Race, that was what they were doing, they were protecting our futures.”
Rendy had a drawn out smile of a fool. He slid past the corner of Moony and gently placed his hand on Carls shoulder. Moony gave one nod, walked behind the green, beat up dumpster and Carl followed Rendy inside.

TREND: Americans Lower Taxes by Retiring Overseas —Internationalliving.com
Tumblr media
