Local Docktor thinks its a fantastic idea to crossover his two biggest interests at the moment.

First for some context (don't worry, I'll keep it brief). One of my best friends has been working on a table-top RPG since like high school called Percentile. And its the main game that the group plays for our campaigns. Thus, it never leaves my head.

You know what else doesn't leave my head? Spies are Forever.

So here I am. Planning out what theoretical character sheets would look like for Owen and Curt. I'm so normal. I swear. Below the cut includes my insane ramblings on this topic.

I will also be playing a little fast and loose with some of the rules here because making character sheets in this game, while fun, is LENGTHY. And I'm insane but I'm not THAT insane

Ok so I want to start with Owen because I'm making him a mage and I LOVE building mages.

For the sake of simplicity I'm gonna keep 'em both human. (boring I know. but the list of ancestries is so long it almost overwhelms me for this)

To quickly explain the percentages: That is basically your rate of success on any given skill/action. So the higher the number, the more likely they are to succeed!

Owen's Stats

Power represents magic. POW is just another word for mana. And size mainly only impacts things like how easy you are to tackle/grapple and what spaces you can squeeze into.

So he's got 10 HP

14 POW

2 Soak (armor, it takes 2 points off of whatever damage they were hit with)

+28 initiative bonus (initiative dictates who goes first in combat. The higher your number, the more likely you are to go first)

and can move 5 squares per turn (turns last 6 seconds), or 6 if he runs.

All fairly standard for a human mage. The interesting stuff starts with choosing his spells.

In Percentile, the standard mage can have a few collections of spells called Spell Schools. They can only have one spell from each school prepared at once but can spend 6 hours a day switching them out safely (or do it within seconds if you wanna feel the consequences)

So here's the spell schools I think he'd have

BLAST -> its in the name, you get several spells that are just different types of blasts. So magical bullets, lasers, etc.

CHANGE -> He'd probably use this spell school mainly for his DMA disguise but instead of a mask he can physically change his appearance for several hours a day.

VISION -> Great for espionage and detective work. Spells include making you really good at looking for stuff, being able to see events that transpired previously within a room, and gathering information.

WOUNDING -> Gives him access to several magical bladed weapons. Good for Torture and homosexually sword fighting your ex lover.

really good... ouch.

Skills/knowledges are another story and are one of my least favorite parts of character building so I'll briefly go over it.

High intimidation, spot hidden (looking for stuff. almost every percentile character needs a decent spot hidden), move quietly, resist, and rapine (rapine is like sleight of hand, pickpocketing, handling small and/or delicate things)

Middling physical skills like jumping, climbing, etc. first aid, hide, and survival

Low grapple.

His knowledges would include

High performance (haha actor man), espionage, and literacy

Middling lore

Low cooking. and everything else. He can cook its just all post WWII British food which I think should qualify for being bad at it.

OK NOW FOR MY FAVORITE PART: Traits and Scars.

SCARS

his scars include more physical stuff like reduced hearing and chronic pain (player would roll a dice to see how bad the pain is that day to see if he needs to use a mobility device). But also include

Untrusting - CHAR INT based - compelled to roll an idea check to see if someone is lying every time he starts a new interaction with someone. On a fail he believes they are lying no matter what

POSSIBLE TRAITS

Magic Hair, for my long-haired Owen fans. Basically he has hair that's so cool it makes him more charismatic.

Strong Promises. Whenever the character makes a promise, they get a bonus to whatever stat that will help them achieve that promise.

Plotting. Whenever characters with this trait record or speak out a plan, it functions as if they practiced it for an additional day. Perfect for villain monologues.

Pull At Soul. Characters with this trait declare a goal during each level up. These goals can be something like “plan with everyone in the party about the mission & use that plan”, it can be “avenge my fathers killer” “seek out & find the sage” or more abstract things, “Die & be born anew in the eyes of my community” or “See the moon as it truly is”. They cannot tell any other characters about this goal. Once they achieve this goal as determined by them & the GM, anytime they are at 1 HP they can choose to level up.

Buddies! -> Select another character. Decide on a secret handshake, set of gestures, or exchange. It does not have to be uniform, but does have to be meaningful. Anytime you perform this with them, and one of you gains exhaustion, instantly both of you gain 1d3 to a stat. They do not have to be the same stat, select them when you take the maneuver. If the other dies, this trait is removed, granting the character back the trait points, and the character gains a -1d3 to that stat forever. (THE FUCKING HANDSHAKE)

It's Curt's turn!

God I was SO tempted to make him a Ragamuffin for this. But I'm sticking with humans. I don't even know why. I just think it would be funny. Something fun about the 'brute' being made of fabric and fluff.

Anyway. Stats!!

12 HP

8 POW (not important given he's a fighter and not a mage)

3 soak

+27 Initiative bonus

and can move 4 squares per turn, 6 squares if he's running.

Instead of spells, fighters get weapon proficiencies and maneuvers! Maneuvers are basically fancy fighting styles and actions.

Possible weapon options: Short sword (what they fight with in the show), a gun, and fisticuffs. Mages also get a weapon or two and tbh these could all apply to Owen too.

Possible maneuvers:

Taunt -> It is what it says on the tin, mock your opponent to try and make them get sloppy and target you instead of your allies.

Reckless Strike Back -> When dodging an attack, you can take one extra damage to attempt to hit your opponent back. If you fail you take extra damage.

Induced Sloppiness -> Make yourself unpredictable! on a success you get bonuses to damage and to land hits. Those attacks are really difficult to parry and dodge. On a fail your opponent gets a bonus to parrying and dodging.

Dodging into My Blade -> you must have this maneuver readied. If you opponent dodges your or your allies attack while this is readied, you can basically say "Lmaoooo" and attack them again

Skills!

High physical stuff like jumping and climbing, resist, move quietly, hide

Middling intimidation, spot hidden, repine, and grapple

Low first aid (scared of own blood) and listen.

Knowledges!

High linguistics, cooking, and espionage

Middling riding arts (for cars and stuff)

Low almost everything else (doesn't mean he's dumb. Fighters just aren't built for having a ton of knowledges)

Possible Scars!

Alcoholic - CON based - Roll a withstand check upon the GM's orders to see if you feel the urge to take a drink. On a fail you either take a swig or suffer withdrawal

Bad With Magic - POW and CON based - Anytime characters with this scar roll a check involving power expenditure, the GM describes it as if they are deeply unsettled by it, that it seems strange, random and scary, and that they are somehow making a mistake, regardless of what the magic does, how it functions, or if they succeeded or not.

Possible Traits!

Poison Blood -> Anyone eating characters with this trait takes 1d6 necrotic damage per SIZ consumed, and the character can take 1 HP from themselves to coat weapons in their blood, which deals 1d4 necrotic damage or stuns the enemy for 1d4-1 turns. It will add this effect to 1 attack until it dries in 3d6+CON turns. (something something alcohol-poisoned blood)

Sturdy -> While at max HP characters with this trait cannot be reduced below 1 HP in one hit.

Natural Jester -> Anytime characters with this trait crit fail any check, anyone who witnesses it must roll a withstand check or be stunned for 1 turn.

Fast to The Fight -> Add +3 to initiative rolls (can be taken more than once)

There's actually a TON of traits that could fit Curt but I'm capping it off here because I will go overboard.

if you remember my international womens day post, there was this scene, and while it looks similar, this one is actually darker and is supposed to focus more on Nanel's hand placement :) I didnt go with it cuz iirc it didnt look right next to the other panels, but it is very pretty!

From my emotions/feelings post, this was gonna be the one I used for Roo, but because of the lighting it looks like his mouth is open and not him just showing his teeth in frustration (which was the intent), so I changed it to be closed

I think you can instantly see something is off with Kyneva's eyes... 😭😭 The lighting made her eyelashes look weird so I had to adjust the lighting to be more central (lots of lighting issues with these panels...)

So like the others, the lighting was just too dark and I had to add a brighter light 🙃

As an introduction of the "story" name for Roo and Leo, I was gonna do a post (which is why I learned to make text in blender) where Roo talks about the significance of the word "Hiraeth" in his life, which is that uhhh he learned Hiraeth from Leo lmao. But now he feels "Hiraeth" for Leo essentially. I still like the idea but for some reason I just haven't vibed with the scene and just haven't been motivated to go back and make that scene now esp. since I've introduced the story name now

I’ll admit I was inspired by @pandoratheprocrasticreator‘s engaging Blight family post but I was thinking more about how the twins and their father have almost no relationship and I also just want Alador to sort of acknowledge that he’s not a good parent all of sudden, he wasn’t a good parent before so. . Yeah this is what I came up. Context: I imagine even though they all live with Alador now, the twins sort of go off and do their own thing most of the time, skip dinner and whatnot while Amity has prime bonding time with her dad. And partly it’s because they’re disinterested and also, they’re looking for their own jobs so they can live on their own. Until Amity finds out.

Em: We’re getting our own apartment. We’re gonna be 18 soon, we’re going to move anyway so why not start now?

Amity: But, everything’s changed. But-you-Dad just started trying. You won’t ever see him. You hardly see him now. Ed: Look, Mittens, it’s great that you have a relationship with Dad but we. . we don’t really care. We went this long without his input in our lives and legally, we’re not going to need one so-

Amity: But he wants to have a relationship! He asks you to share meals all the time. Ed: I don’t see him knocking down the door. It’s you asking for him. Em: Besides, he spends all his free time with you.

Amity: But-

Em: It’s not about you. We’re not jealous. Even if we leave the house, we’ll still see each other. Our apartment has a guest room, you’ll live with us!

Amity: But Dad-Dad’s trying. He’s a good Dad, and he wants to make up for before. Ed: Have you’ve noticed he hasn’t apologized for putting us against each other? He probably still thinks he was right to do that. Em: Amity, we’re serious. We’re not interested. And don’t say he’ll apologize, it doesn’t count if you have to tell him to do it. Ed: And it doesn’t count if he has to and not because he knows he was wrong. And when if he does that, what next? We’re going to hang out like nothings wrong and he was good this whole time? Face it, Mittens, he hasn’t changed that much.

But after a talk with Luz and believing people can change, Amity lets the plans slip to Alador to encourage him to talk. She comes home to him forbidding the twins from moving.

Ed: We’re going to be legal in a few months! Let’s make it easier and let us go now. Alador: Don’t you want to be a family?

Ed: Sure, I do. But you don’t. You just want to be with your favorite child. Alador: I don’t have a favorite. Ed: Yeah, right. Then why do you spend all your time with her? It’s because of the abominations and inventions. She’s the only one you care about. Alador: I didn’t want to push you into spending time with me. I was giving you space. Ed: Bullshit! When the genius Alador Blight wants something, he doesn’t stop till gets it. Patience and inventions and reinvention until he gets it. Goes into every part of your life. If you don’t care to have a relationship, you wouldn’t try. That’s what’s happening here. Alador: You’re not trying either!

Ed: I shouldn’t have to! I have spent my whole life trying and you made me feel like a failure the whole time. “Illusions aren’t as difficult to master as abominations.”

“I’m not using my brain.” If I didn’t understand your work right away, I’m stupid. If I didn’t care about your work, I was lazy. Wasting my time. You know, you’re the one that first said I was too dependent on Em. “A sign of slow growth” you said. It was a liability and I should be stronger than that. A true Blight. If I tried hard enough, I wouldn’t be such a burden. You and Mom- “You don’t want to be a burden, Edric.” “You don’t want to be a failure to be abandoned while your sisters make something of themselves.” “If you stopped playing tricks, you might be more.”

Combining illusions and potions is not nothing. But to you it is. Everything and everyone is beneath you because it’s not how you would do it. It’s not your work so it’s useless. I’m useless. And I don’t want to feel that way. I’m done with you. I don’t care. . I don’t want to care about your opinion anymore so I’m putting myself first.

I shouldn’t have to do all the work when you’re the adult. You’re my Dad, I shouldn’t need to try harder. This is all on you.” Emira enters and is quickly (and loudly) updated on the situation. Emira(under her breath) I take one night off and everything goes to hell. Alador: Emira, be reasonable, I’m not- Em: Okay, here’s the thing, Al. I agree with Edric. Let’s start with how you act like everything not related to your work, let’s say the illusions we’ve been training most of our lives for, is a waste of your time and intellect.

Ed: I already covered that. Em: Oh? Then let’s discuss how you think you’re a good father now. That you can just make up the neglect like it never happened. Like you don’t recognize that you didn’t just dismiss us, you hurt us. You can’t put everything on Mom. You didn’t just stand by all the time. You agreed with her! You thought it was right. You still do. You haven’t apologized, yiu don’t think to because it was okay. It was okay to turn us against each other so we’d try to do better, to compete against each other for your attention. It was okay to give Edric and Amity anxiety attacks over any potential failure because it makes them stronger in the long run. You made us earn everything-earn your respect, earn your pride and earn your love. Do you not see how screwed up that is?

Ed: You didn’t care about what we were doing or our illusion competitions or tests. Not unless we dropped from an A+ to an A, then you yelled about how we’re ruining the family legacy and the company’s reputation. You only brought up our accomplishments to tear Amity down. Or to warn us not to slip up. Anything else we did, you were a ghost. Em: And I’m sure this will be hard for you to believe. But if I had to choose a parent I’d rather “hang out” with—it wouldn’t be you!

Mom may be a controlling, manipulative narcissist but at least, she thought more of us than you do. Like when I broke up with my girlfriend, and you asked what I expected. “Illusions won’t keep her for long, at some point she would have gone looking for stimulating conversation.” Newsflash, just because you’re uninterested when I talk doesn’t mean I’m boring to others. At least Mom thinks I’m too good for my exes and I can do better. At least she saw some advantage in illusions. At least she thought we were worth something even though it was for a role we had no desire to fulfill.

If you want to be a better parent, try to act like you think were special and not that we’re too boring and superficial for you to talk to. It’s just hard to believe that you really want to try this “good Dad” idea. All your actions and inactions have made it clear that you have no respect for us as witches worthy of notice. You don’t know us and now you want to play Dad. Why should you even get that chance? You never gave us second chances! “Life doesn’t give second chances when you fail.” Remember saying that? So no, I don’t want to live with you and pretend to be happy to stick it to Mom or whatever. Alador: I-I- do you hate me that much? Em: No. that’s the worst part. The stupid, childish part of me still loves you because you’re my father. But. .I don’t like you. I don’t respect you and I don’t trust you and your newfound desire to bond.

Yall I just gotta spill my incoherent rambles about Its Name Was Cesar Torres because GRAAAAHHHHH

Spoilers under the cut!

I saw one post that was like “Ok but which would be more fucked up: the alternate killing Cesar while wearing the face of his mom, or vice versa?” And this fic gave us a third and even more devastating option holy shit-

“Picking up the receiver, it paused before pressing at the shapes in the pattern it knew would make Cesar Torres’ friend speak.”

DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS LINE.

Understanding the how but not the why, having the knowledge but not the experience, the inhuman detachment of it all. One small detail that betrays its whole state of being right now: An imitation.

And don't even get me started on the headcanons for how alternates work bc they're so FASCINATING

The way alternates just. Absorb? Things? To take on their form? One of the comments mentioned the alt wearing Cesar's corpse like a parasite and AOUGH

The way emotions have taste- Altsar's initial plan to understand pain just so it could make Mark's suffering that much better to savor- It's just the sheer embodiment of their nature as entities of consumption, born into a state of empty eternity

The way alternates have no personal stake in the war and are just doing what they do best because they can- The way alternates can't die and are just cast back into the void from whence they came, only delaying the inevitable-

Pfffft Mark walks in and just sees Altsar like 🧍 aksjdalkfh- Not a single thought between those eyes dude

They had us in the first half not gonna lie with the Mark fakeout- The way I slapped my hand over my mouth like "WUH? HUH??"

AND THEN ALTSAR, OVERWHELMED WITH RAGE, STRIKING THIS ABOMINATION WITH ALL OF ITS THEIR MIGHT. AND YET IT JUST KEEPS TALKING. WORDS DRIPPING FROM ITS SLACKED JAW LIKE SALIVA. WHY WON'T IT STO P.

The moment Altsar realizes he's gotten way in over his head past the point of no return- The constant change of it to they to he, struggling with newfound humanity and unable to see where the alternate ends and the dead man begins. Is there even a difference anymore?

The whole warm and cold thing..... Mark taking Altsar's hands into his and bandaging his its wounds..... Injured. Broken. Both of them living a lie for as long as they can.

AND CAN WE JUST APPRECIATE THE WAY EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER AT THE END:

I just. I struggle to find the words to describe how much I adore this fic, yall. If you were to look in my brain you would just find that one video of the guy shouting "HEEEELP. HEEEEEEELP. HELP MEEE." with the most expressionless face-

ok since i know you as the excellent writer mutual, i wondered if you had any advice for creating ocs? one of my other moots asked if i had any ocs and now i REALLY want to create one. but it looks hard af. so turning to a venerable author for guidance

OHHHHH GOD. First of all, I gotta thank you for the description (😭 seriously), I'm trying my best out here.

SECOND. I think I might be able to help, depending on what sort of OC you're trying to make, whether they're real world, fandom related, alien, D&D/Medieval Fantasy etc. Like. WOAH. There's a lot of freedom in making OCs!!!

Long-ish post below the cut!

Instead of actually wracking my brains rn, because evening is drawing in and I'm tired, I am gonna tell you a few things that no one told me! Plus some extra fun knowledge (and maybe tag you in OC dialogue prompts/creation advice in future if you want some help!!)

SO. 1. You can start whenever, wherever, and no one is allowed to tell you otherwise. I'm not sure how else to say this, but it's a game of creativity and a bit of love. To tell someone else what they're allowed and what they aren't allowed to put in their OCs is WRONG. Give them magic powers if that's the only thing you can think of at first, because it's a start and a start is always beautiful.

2. Art is art!! Even if it stays in your brain and never comes out. By this I mean, appearances: what do they look like? Is it what You want to look like? Is it nonhuman? Experiment with races, hairstyles, eyeshapes etc, especially if you're gonna end up drawing them!! More practise, and it's fun, because it's something/someone that You are Interested in. Hopefully I'm making sense here!

3. Names. Oh god, baby name websites won't help you. But fantasy generator names can! They are often much better and more exciting. Back to separate cultures ^ — looking for famous people of the culture/race of your OC can sometimes be of assistance, or sometimes unofficial Census sites. Names can also be objects, plants, celestial bodies, Gods, colours, metals/elements, etc. Maybe, with a few letters missing. Chair -> Chaise, Tablet -> Tebley (two I came up with a while ago and didn't really go into)

4. Clothes! I love researching clothes because they're always interesting to analyse, especially if they come from somewhere else around the world. Experiment with colours, what works/doesn't work with your character? Is your character neat, tidy? Show that through their clothes! Primmed and pressed suits and whatnot. Same goes for the opposite. If your character's main trait is that they're agreeable and friendly, show that through their clothes even slightly by making the colours blend, maybe make their favourite colour limited on the outfit as if they're moving it to make way for others. Think about shape, silhouette, etc. Do the clothes fit your character's particular body type? Their habitat? Their scene/time? :)

5. Personality!! This is always great. For a few of my OCs, I rolled them D&D stats with a twenty-sided dice. The five I ALWAYS take into account are: joy — what brings them it, romantic interest — or sometimes lack thereof, sadness — do they often fall into it? Are they easily emotional? Etc, fear — what are they afraid of and why? Etc, and lastly, charisma/charm — how easily are people to follow them, want to be friends with them, fall in love with them, want to listen to them speak?

(5.5) Flaws! Everyone's got em, aside from Mary Sue (who could be Your character. I'm not judging.) There are plenty of posts talking about character flaws. Here's one I saw earlier. It explains it better than I could, and OP leaves another link! Think about how much it grates against their defining 'Good' quality, think about whether you would see them as a good or bad person, and whether their flaws change how other people perceive them.

6. Hobbies aren't an important factor exactly, but it's always nice to plan your Little Guy some downtime. What do they do when it's quiet or when they're lonely? Do they have many friends, or do they keep to themselves? What's their favourite book? Their favourite video game? Their favourite film? And how is that shown through their appearance too? (Such as merchandise, tattoos, piercings.)

7. Things I didn't mention consist of:

— do they have any disabilities (mental or physical)? Were they caused by something (accident to be mysterious about)? Or were they born with them?

— do you expect people to relate to them, like them, hate them, fall in love with them, etc? Both real people who may come across your character, and other people in this characters setting?

— hero or villain material? This isn't a fine line, but it doesn't have to be a blurred line. Redemption arc/story? Tragic hero falling to..? Revenge? Lust? Hunger for power?

— how they fit into the scenery or area around them, where they live and how they interact with people who surround them.

But, finally, do what you want. OCs can be tricky, but as soon as you learn that it is — in the end — You who control both them and You, it becomes a whole lot easier.

My final tip? Enjoy. And, if you don't, stop! Do what you want, forever. :)

First Kiss Fics: Kinda neutral on them, I guess. I mean, I'M probably not gonna write any, and I'm not gonna seek them out, and obviously it all depends on whether or not I actually ship the pairing in quastion, but I don't have anything against them. If a first kiss happens in canon, I guess there's not much need, but if they don't kiss in canon? Hell yah, make those guys kiss for the first time!

Music: Yes! Mostly if I'm in a noisy environment or where there's talking, but sometimes just to set the mood. It's gotta be instrumental, though, maybe singing in a language I don't speak. I can't have words in my ears and words on the paper at the same time. Right now I'm specifically listening to Lindsey Stirling, but most of the time I just look up "classical music" or "writing music" or "battle music" and just start a 10 hr long video

Program: It's Word for me. We'll see how that changes once I no longer get that from my university. I hear Scrivener is good

Scrapped fics: Yep. There's a few. One I started pre s2b, where Belos' plan was to use Hunter's body as a vessel for the titan, which got scrapped for obvious reasons. A couple of tales of arcadia fics (which I did start to post and did not ever finish. RIP)

Irl people: 2 of my siblings know, my best friends know, and my writer's circle knows. Honestly, I don't care that much about keeping it a secret except for my family (save the 2 siblings) because I don't want them reading it. Feeling cringy about writing fanfic was for baby high school me.

What's the sweetest fic: proooobably Tiny Shards of Glass. I can't really think of any fics that were just straight fluff, but that one was pretty close. Another Shot at Life was pretty sweet too, though!

No drinking and writing for me. Or, at least, I don't think I'd ever purposely pair the two together.

LOL. Funny question. I definitely do not write spicy fics.

have my au style of kwazii

i tried to make him have the design as an orange tabby and a calico mix as good as i could get him

and yes i do plan making calico jack also a calico orange tabby mix

this was my first time drawing a octonauts character and background

this was also my first attempt at making the octonauts octo-alert logo on the door:

idk what if that's what it is or just the octonauts' logo

I've got headcannons and i wanna share em

(i know my grammar is horrible hush)

-kwazii and calico jack are part of a family of pirates from japan so kwazii didn't know any English calico jack learned way before him

-kwazii always wanted to know what is was like to be a stowaway and that's how kwazii became an octonaut he stumbled into a box on land after a few minutes it was picked up and put into the launch bay dashi went down to help tweak and was the first to discover kwazii after his head popped out of the crate dashi helped get him out and alerted captain barnacles who brought him to the sick bay to make sure he wasn't hurt after that they went back on land and attempted to let kwazii return home but the feline just wouldn't budge instead they let him stay with them how he truly became an octonaut was because he saved a baby snail from getting eaten

-barnacles was the one who taught him English they became good friends because of it

-kwazii developed a crush on barnacles(dont judge me i dont judge you for your ships) so the little box instead of the ship in a bottle on the shelf is little pictures of barnacles with hearts on them there also seems to be the shade of black lipstick kiss marks on certain ones

-peso, dashi, and kwazii developed a chaotic sibling energy

-kwazii was shy at first when he became an octonaut now he's to crazy

-kwazii likes wearing eyeliner and sometimes lipstick(the shade black of course) he helps dashi apply her makeup too

-kwazii does not wear male clothes despite being transgender he would take his oversized pink sweater with a star on it, very short navy blue shorts, and black knee-high stockings any day he does change into a diver like suit when they go on missions outside of the octopod

-he got top surgery but wants to keep the ability to have children

-his pronouns are he/they but he prefers to be referred to as a he no one knows why

-he found a random scale nobody knows what it came from but its making kwazii feel like he wants to jump into the water without a helmet so he locked it in a small lock box in his chest he hid the key in his scratching post

-kwazii has a big soft spot for babies and children and has dreamed of having his own some day

-kwazii sees professor inkling as a father figure as his father died after a run in with other pirates costing in both his parents' deaths

-calico jack's crew told him to take kwazii and run while they were gonna hold them off he hopes they're still out there(they are they'll reunite soon)

-kwazii has an older brother and and and older sister his sister is sadly deceased but his bother is still alive with his grandpa's crew still an the lookout for him and kwazii his name is Arron

-kwazii has adhd and plays with anything that seems fun to him shellington has had to lock away his test tubes and experiments because of this

-kwazii wears an eyepatch to cover his blind eye

-he can be a little menace sometimes

-when kwazii first joined the octonauts tunip and the veggimals have had to be kept away from him after he tried to eat them a few times he knows now he is not allowed to eat them

Hello hello everyone!

Today's post I figured I'd do something a lil different!

I'm gonna talk bout chickens!

Mostly cause I've heard a lot of folk talking about getting them recently and since I've had em awhile maybe give some info folks might find helpful in the decisions on if chickens (or other feathered flocks) might be a ya or nay~

Discussion of topics some may be sensitive to. mention of death/processing/butchering of animals that is associated with keeping animals for homesteading purposes.

🐥The first and foremost I tell everyone, check into why you want them. I have chickens primarily for eggs and composting purposes. I get free pest control as a side benefit. Meat purposes are mostly secondary for me. I tend to go for a mixed variety of duel purpose breeds (meat and eggs).

🐥Second, research into them.

Breed, ability to survive in your area. How big they'll get, noise level. What kind of feed will you be looking to give them? What sort of shelter/housing will you have for them. Do you need to have a vet? (If so, where is your vet?) What kind of chicken is best for the purpose you want them for? Are u getting chicks? Pullets? Adults? How much do they need to eat? Drink?

If you get them for eating how are you getting that done? Self processing and butcher? A processor/butcher shop? (Also what about the by products? Feathers, feet, heads, organs?)

If they get sick or are doing poorly and they need to be dispatched, how are you doing that?

If you get chicks and end up with mostly roosters, what's your plan?.

I bring up the last few because many who get into them for homesteading/farming/self sufficiency sometimes don't think about those things ahead of time. I didn't right away and have had to deal with all 3 situations.

On an equally important note: what if you get them and don't end up wanting to keep them or find you can't do or keep up with their care? Chickens and other homesteading animals aren't generally kept as pets and can be difficult to "adopt out" in urban/inner-city areas. (Alternatively, if you have kids there might be more questions and situations.)

🐥🐥 Make sure you check that your allowed to keep chickens where your at

For me, that meant checking my state, city and municipality rules. If you live in an hoa or similar you'll need to check that out too.

Now you may be told no, their not allowed. If you really want to keep birds for meat or eggs see about quails. Many places don't have rules against them and they can be kept in cages indoors. Be sure to check the legality of doing so in your state especially as some quail breeds are illegal. ( where im at bobwhites you need a game permit, courtinex are fine though.) Or ducks. Same as the research with chickens tho, and I suggest a good pond filtration or thay you don't mind changing pond water frequently.

🐥🐥🐥Make sure you have shelters, runs and other supplies ready BEFORE you get your birds. Feed, lights, wateres, feed trays, nest boxes, perchs, bedding, vitamins/electrolytes, etc

🐥get your eggs, chicks, pullets, adults and enjoy!

Also Google and chicken forums can be excellent resources!

I like to get chicks and start them off in a big pond tub/ kiddie pool like container something that will be big enough for them to run around in that let's them decide how close to the lamp heat they get.

My last batch of chicks, their always so darn cute!

For chicks,

🌱 Be sure to have a non tipable waterer. I suggest on a rock and as far away from the heater lamp as possible. The water can get pretty hot otherwise and chicks do not like hot water much. Be sure to clean this twice a day or more as they will track bedding into the water. As they get older either a larger waterer is needed or more frequent fills

🌱A heater lamp, a cardboard box or other object so they can hide away from the heater lamp. I like to place my waterer on the other side of this spot too and make it about half the container. Chicks need a warm spot and cool, generally they need a larger warm spot but always be sure there's plenty of cool down room.

🌱A low bowl or plate to put chick gravel and their feed. Chick starter and gravel can usually be found at farm stores and some pet stores, same as adult feed, though the selection will be a lot smaller than a feed store. They will kick the feed and rocks everywhere as a heads up. Check a few times a day to make sure they have feed and the lil chick gravel available. Food should always be available to your chicks at this point

🌱a space to keep the chicks in.

I personally use a hard pond tub thing. And a cover. I use old window screen and clip it down. This is to keep them safe from popcorning or hopping out as they get older and to keep things out of their coop. When I've no chicks I use it to mix potting soil and the screen to cover seeded rows.

Time: Be aware, chicks become chickens fast. They don't start laying eggs until around 6 months of age.

They will outgrow the chick pen faster than you think as well, so make sure you have their adult housing before you get them.

Minimally You will need waterers, feed tray, roost space, nest box and a run for pullets and adults.

This pic was a few months before most started laying. I have an enclosed run & hutch and give them 'free range' of my yard most the day. I do live in a neighbourhood, less than a 1/4 acre I believe. Most neighbours don't mind so long as the birds are kept clean, quietish and don't hop fences/escape. Some breeds that'll mean enclosures their whole life or clipping wings feathers and small time frames where you remain out with them while they wander the whole yard.

Either way, be aware they do get bored and enrichment makes their life better. Here's some things I do...

I like to lay out boards on the lawn and flip em over every so often. They love the bugs and sometimes will stand by and "scream cluck" until I flip the board.

"Chicken ball" I hang from a post or the roof of the run a cabbage/caulifloer/lettuce/leafy ball and let em hop to pick it. Please be aware, don't leave hang nooses to tie the ball. Chickens can and do get stuck. I found using a big hook screw and screwing the "ball" to hang down best. Make sure your birds CAN NOT get the screw in their beaks.

I take the bedding chips I use for the chick pen and the roost/hutch and sweep them into the run both for cleanliness and enrichment to scratch in. kitchen and garden scraps are added as well to supplement feed. When it's time to change out/clean the bedding. I rake everything up and toss it in piles in the yard. The chickens will tear it apart looking for bugs. We'll rake it all back up 1-2 times a week and let them repeat till it's gone entirely. We've not had issues with it but if pests or smells are an issue clean pen and run as often and disposed of as needed. Be a nice neighbor.

A water source like a shallow pond of kiddie pool. It gets hot where im at so I have a few ponds. I'll put mint, herbs, ice cubes, small feeder fish inside. (Not all at the same time, not making a potion or soup lol) they'll drink from the ponds, hang around them to keep cool and pick at the stuff inside or go swimming so to speak. Some chickens eat the fish (if not I do have ducks too, the feeder fish never remain more than a few hours max) sometimes I leave the pond empty and dump crickets or mealworms inside. The chickens favorite! There is never any leftovers and it very fun to feed them from your hand occasionally.

A sand spot, or soft sandy spot. Chickens dust bath to keep clean of mites and other pests. They may not use your selected spot. It's just best to let them chicken on in their elected spot awhile and then fill it in and cover it for a few weeks. They'll find another spot.

Yard/lawn clipping, garden maintenance, kitchen scraps.

Always check your chickens can eat anything you give them. Generally they can eat just about everything. Though they may not want to.

From yesterday when i was trimming the ducks area. These gals are a laying well at this time of year (in a few months that'll sadly change)

Some notes, for adults you will want to have calcium. That can be satisfied a few ways. Commonly that means Oyster shell or egg shell. Crushed Oyster shell can be got at feed/farm/tractor stores. If you do use egg shells be sure the shells are boiled (to wash/sanitize) drained, dried and slightly crushed before being supplied. To supply, you can mix in food, toss out in the run areas or just have an extra bowl of it. They'll find it as they need it.

Sometimes the girls need extra protien. Yes, chickens are not vegan. To do their best They need a omnivore diet. You can cook up their eggs and feed them back if you want, always cook the eggs and serve shells/egg seperate. This helps prevent egg eaters in your flock. Give them mealworms, crickets, bugs (dead or alive, just be sure not to introduce invasive species to your area.)

Fresh greens, I like to do this more than grains if possible. But if only occasionally given that's fine too, again be sure to check its not toxic for them.

That's my quick n dirty notes and tips for chickens.

but uh yeah with Halloween on the horizon and the event just—Halloween dates thats all I got specially during the party one of the twst boys askin their s/o to be their partner to it (even though they’re all gonna be there already wjhfhf),I just think its a cute thought for em couldnt choose a character for a scenario so let ur mind go wild 😂

also I dont know if you ever noticed but jades anfgry face every time it shows jumps scares me cause jts so subtle of a change (hes making it in those images u posted from the Halloween week disaster) like its cool but you know u shouldn’t mess with him when hes like that

ok so! I've got a little scenario for the halloween party for each boy in the eng server event, since we couldn't choose just one! behold:

Cater, who makes sure your outfit and his are matching. he wants to have the best photos of this night to remember! takes a lot of pictures, you just look so cute wearing the skeleton costume <3 his magicam feed consists of 20 posts in a row with you. #NRC_halloween #Matching #TrickorTreat #SpookyScarySkeletons

Deuce, who is very proud of his work as a member of the halloween comitee, so he asks you to go to the party with him to celebrate the success halloween week was! he makes sure to remember in which tables are your favorite candy! thinks your costume really fits you, will be blushing as he compliments it.

Jack, who is exhausted after having to deal with the chaos that was this event and Savanaclaw's antics, but still asks you to go with him because he saw how excited you were. this was your first halloween in twisted wonderland, so he wanted to make it a night to remember. his tail will be wagging once he sees you, a mischievous smile on your face as you prepare to go trick or treating together.

Azul, who had helped to plan the decorations of the party and just so happened to favour your favorite color. oh, there also seem to be a lot of food that you like on the buffet. he will walk you around the room, arms interwined, as you make rounds to make sure everything is going smoothly. sttuters when you compliment his costume but tries to act nonchalant about it.

Jade, who has scared you on more than one occasion during the week, taking delight in your frightened expression. as an apology for the stress, he asks you to accompany him to the party, no tricks involved. the two of you have a great time scaring the rest of the unsuspecting students together <3

Kalim, who is so excited for the party he asks you to go with him on the first day of the week. everytime he sees you, he comments something about it. once the day arrives, he's pratically jumping, full of energy to spend. will drag you to the dance floor and might even start a costume competition. will cheer the loudest for your costume!

Vil, who just wants to relax after being the chairman of the halloween comitee and taking multiple photos with fans during the week. still, he wouldn't mind your company. the two of you stay little time inside the room. instead, you find yourself walking with him around the garden, loud music playing on the background and the stars shining above. a setting fitting for a vampire, you think. still, his hand is warm where it holds yours, his smile warmer.

Epel, who finally gets to experiment all of the city folk candy! he asks you to go with him so you could have this experience together, seeing as you had never eaten any of the more extravagant candy either. you two have a blast trying all types of food and scaring other students, laughing into the night.

Idia, who doesn't want to go, he hates parties! still, since you asked him to, he thinks he can make an exception for you... but he'll only stay for a bit! after not even an hour has passed, you find yourself pressed comfortably against his side on his warm bed, a blanket enveloping both of you as you have a classic horror movie marathon.

Malleus, who wants to apologize for causing so much trouble for you after choosing Ramshackle as Diasomnia's spot. you accept his invitation, reassuring him it wasn't his fault the guests got rowdy. nobody dares to try to scare you with him by your side, some even giving you candy willingly. you are fascinated by the halloween stories he has to tell, sharing some stories from your world too, talking in the garden and away from the crowd, just the two of you <3

Lilia, who was having the time of his life watching so many shenanigans unfold during the week. he wants to make sure you'll have a good time at the party, and who better than someone who's experienced thousands of halloweens to show you how it's done? he takes you dancing and trick or treating, making pauses to experiment something or other from the food tables. strangely enough, he feels as if no other halloween was as fun as this one he spent by your side.

Dedicated DEV LOG #1

hey!! it's apollo/nyarl!! this'll be a first in a series of posts that are basically indie game development logs filled with a shit ton of rambling

i'll maybe try and post these monthly or bi-monthly, but it's mostly for me to motivate myself to make progress to have something to show off and to archive the process of making a game!

this month's dev log is dedicated to—well—"Dedicated To..."

(i may keep saying this for future projects and games so bear with me) "Dedicated To..." (abbreviated as DT from now on) originally was an idea i had in middle school!

it was really edgy tho and i'd honestly kms if it ever got leaked to the public but it was essentially an angst piece for when i was discovering my own sexuality as a gay cis man

staying somewhat true to its gay angst origins, this game is a story based psychological horror rpg maker game! maybe you can add it's a story based gay psychological horror rpg maker game lmao

it won't be a long game, and it'll have 4 routes determined by one early game choice and 5 endings!! the 5th one is considered a secret dont tell anyone

i did change the protagonist's name and design bc it was literally just a self insert for me lmao even had clothes i often wore fucking lame

BUT ANYWAYS!!!!! you'll play as tybalt, a college student majoring in english literature or something as he struggles to create a fairy tale as his capstone (don't think about it too much)

here's a preview of his full art and draft of his portrait as thanks for listening to me ramble so far i will continue to ramble!! (i have yet to turn it into pixel art and plan different expressions)

i really wanted to make a gay character with these kinda cat eyes whatever you call em lol

and the man he'll be pinning for is reyn!! i didnt give him a major bc it doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things!!! he's probably a finance major!!!!

also idk why i named him reyn, it was something i kept from the original middle school stories

ig it was because i was watching chugga's lets play of xenoblade lmao

i've taken some time with working with rpg maker mz before since i had the chance to use it in a game dev class (after splurging most of my financial aid on plugins lmao), but unless i can figure out javascript on my own and break the engine, i'll be focusing on using rpg maker vx ace since it has more plugins!

for now, i'm still focusing on the story and full body character art before diving into programming and learning how to make pixel art _(:3」∠)_

btw i forgot to mention that part. yeah i'm an absolute newbie when it comes to pixel art so i have to learn that too cries

even though i'm making it in rpg maker vx ace, i'm aiming to recreate the feel of rpg maker 2000/2003 because i was SUUUUUUPER inspired by end roll, okegom's games, and specifically for this game charon's works!! so now i gotta bust out the pixels

there will be 4 routes with 5 endings! there was another route + ending but i scrapped it because i only had an idea of the ending (more on that in the future) and nothing else lol

so far i've drafted 3 of the 4 routes! even though there is no canon ending, the 4th one is the one that has the 5th ending and can branch off into other works (once again more on that in the future lmao)

i'm starting to write the dialogue for the 1st route and it's going okay!! tbh i wish i worked on it more over summer break while my college classes aren't gonna kill my ass and classes start next week (´；ω；`)

but i spent a majority of summer break testing out medication for my adhd, and i still am!! it was a really rough process and i'm glad i didn't go through mania-like symptoms while classes were going on _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_

i'm better now tho and i say i'm at a semi good spot!! now time to treat my horrid anxiety lol

Ran into some delays due to real life + this chapter being long + my brain being my worst enemy, but finally, here's Chapter 7 of Down With the Rickness! It is also up on Ao3 and ff dot net, & those links will be posted soon. Screenshot chosen for this post because at this point in the story, Rick really needs to just go back to bed (and someone should strap him to it, tbh). 😂

After some quick, frantic thinking, Morty figured out a way to convince Rick to abandon his newest terrible plan. Or hoped he had, at least.

“Yeah, I guess that would be pretty silly. Oh, no. Wait a minute, Rick. Germs can’t like, communicate or even think the way we do, can they? And making them big won’t change that. So it sounds like it’d be a waste of your time either way. Too bad. Guess you should just go back to bed now, huh?” he said. Rick’s expression instantly turned crestfallen, and Morty was sure that was the end of the subject.

“Right. I was *Achoo!* forgetting all about that. You see what I mean about not being able to think straight with this cold? Thanks, Morty. Y-you really helped Grandpa dodge a bullet there. That could’ve gone really bad really fucking quick.” Rick admitted, slowly getting up from the floor. Noticing that he was a little unsteady, Morty helped him up again.

“Aww geez, you don’t have to thank me for that, Rick. It’s what I’m here for, y’know? Come on. Let’s get you back to bed.” Despite the false modesty, he was clearly proud.

“Yeah, yeah. In a minute, Morty. Help me over to my workbench first.” Rick argued, resisting Morty’s attempt to pull him back towards the house.

“Huh? Oh, sure. You need to sit down for a minute. I guess you did overexert yourself setting up that experiment. I’ve gotta say, even though it wasn’t gonna work, I’m impressed you were able to do all that so quickly when you’re feeling so poorly. I’m surprised you’re even up already – I wasn’t in the attic with Dad for long, and you were out cold when I went look for him.” Morty mused, not noticing that Rick had grabbed two beakers and a Bunsen burner.

“Huh? Oh, yeah. Kinda sneezed myself awake. It was gross, but also a good reminder to myself that the sooner I do this, the sooner I’ll be done with this whole ‘being sick’ bs.” Rick replied. Before sitting at his workbench, he grabbed three test tubes of different colored liquids from the shelf above it, then placed them next to the other equipment he’d gathered. He pulled another petri dish from one of his pockets and added it to the newest assortment of things.

“Oof. That sounds unpleasant, alright. I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time with this thing, Rick. But you’ll be okay soon. At least colds don’t last long. I think. Wait. The sooner you do what, exactly? Ugh. Rick, what are you doing now?” Morty said, initially sounding sympathetic and concerned, then quickly becoming weary once he processed what Rick had just said.

“I’m doing *Cough!* what you reminded me I need to do in order for this experiment to work, Morty. If I’m gonna have any chance of reasoning with these germs, I need to make ‘em sentient. Th-the most important part of this whole process, and I was forgetting all about it. It’s a good thing you’re here to help me out, Morty.”

“No! I mean, thanks I guess… But this is still an awful idea, Rick. I thought we were done with all this and you were going back to bed!” Morty wailed, watching Rick debate what to do with the liquid-filled tubes. He kept picking them up, staring at them like he’d never seen them before, then putting them back down, sometimes rearranging them. Blue, red, yellow. Yellow, blue, red. Red, yellow, blue. It was, to say the least, not remotely reassuring.

“I will once I’m done! Of course, I won’t need to then, since I’ll be cured. Now get *COUGH!* over here and finish helping me, Morty. Oh, and bring those things with you.” Rick instructed, pointing in the general direction of the experiment on the floor. Thinking he wanted the ray gun or maybe the used tissues, Morty was about to tell him no. Then he realized Rick was actually pointing at two items about a foot from the experiment - his nearly empty tissue box and the trash can from his room. While Morty retrieved the items, Rick finally decided to pour the contents of the blue tube into one of the beakers. After lighting the burner under it, he added the red liquid. It instantly started glowing.

“Here. Umm, is that what’s supposed to be happening, Rick?” Morty asked as he placed the tissue box on the table and the trash can on the floor. He eyed the glowing solution suspiciously.

“Huh? Oh, yeah. That’s fine. It’s just, just doing what it needs to do.” Rick muttered, now visibly struggling to keep his eyes open.

“I’m afraid to ask, but what exactly is the plan for this… stuff you’re making? I’m guessing it’s to add it to either the blood sample you took, or maybe one of those used tissues. And by the way, I’ll help you clean up the rest of the mess, but you’re picking those up yourself.”

Rick sniffled and wiped his runny nose before answering, “Yep. Either that or inject myself with it, then take a new sample to work with. You see, Morty, there’s potential downsides either way. If I give the entire virus sentience by injecting myself with the serum, I run the risk of it you know, trying to take over, like it’s in charge.”

“Uh-huh. Seems like a good reason to not do that. Also, even for you, that stuff doesn't look like anything you should put into your bloodstream. What happens if you only make a small sample of the virus sentient after it’s outside your body?” Morty said wearily, still closely watching the glowing beaker.

“Then I’ll definitely have the advantage of these stupid germs not trying to take me down from the inside. *COUGH!* That is, more than they already are. But there’s also a possibility they’ll attack us once they’re out in the open and several million times their original size. As much as I hate these microscopic assholes, I can’t really blame ‘em – I’d freak the fuck out too under those circumstances.” Rick continued. He grabbed another tube, this one containing a pink liquid.

“Wait, that’s what’s going to happen?! And you’re this calm about it?!” Morty asked. He didn’t know how it was possible, but this just kept getting worse.

“It could happen. It’s not necessarily going to. I mean, before I give them rational thought, the enlarged germs will basically be stupid, panicked wild animals. But so long as we react fast enough and apply the mixture the second they’re big enough to see, we should be able to avoid that. Then everything will be fine, Morty!” Rick argued, pouring the pink liquid into the second beaker.

“Okay, no. Absolutely not. We’re not doing this, Rick. I’m sorry, but none of these are acceptable risks for trying to get rid of a cold! Like I said before, it’d be different if you were seriously ill with some space disease like what you pretended to have. I’d still think your idea sounded crazy, but I’d be willing to go along with it, since, like, that might be the only way to save you. But you’re gonna be fine in a few days, and you aren’t even that sick to begin with! So let’s get all of this put away, and you please just go back to bed.” Morty protested, reaching for Rick’s current project.

“No! Fuck you, Morty! I thought you wanted to help me feel better. *Cough!* *Cough!* Clearly that was a lie.” Rick refused, leaning forward and wrapping his arms protectively around the things on the table.

“Of course I do! But none of this is going to do that, Rick. Best case scenario is you’ll just make yourself sicker. And in case you haven’t noticed, things rarely go best case scenario with you.”

“He has a point, you know. Now’s also as good a time as any to tell you, that’s not even an enlarging ray you set up over there.” the garage AI chimed in.

“Yeah, I thought that didn’t look right.” Morty agreed with a sigh, glancing over at the other part of Rick’s experiment.

“Sh-shut up! Both of you, just shut up! I’ll show you two Doubting Thomas assholes a thing or two. Just you wait.” Rick snapped, hands shaking a little as he added the yellow liquid to the pink. At least this combination didn’t start glowing, which the first mixture was still doing. It had also started flashing every few seconds. Still keeping close to the table, Rick turned his head slightly to glare at Morty smugly.

“I’m supposed to be impressed by this? You clearly don’t know what you’re doing right now, Rick.” Morty sighed.

“Hmmphh. Just you *SNIFF!* wait, Morty. Ha! It should be ready now.” Rick mumbled, watching the second mixture start to bubble. He picked it up and added some to the first concoction, careful not to look at that one for long – he’d never admit it, but the sight of the pulsing, glowing liquid had brought back the dizziness from earlier in full force.

Morty watched apprehensively. He fully expected a huge explosion, and to have to pull Rick away from it. Instead, the new solution bubbled nearly to the top of its beaker, then stopped. The flashing and glowing also finally ceased.

“Yeah! Step 1 accomplished, baby!” Rick bragged… either ignoring or oblivious to the fact that the beaker containing only the combined pink and yellow liquids was still bubbling. He started coughing again, and mumbled through it, “Ugh, and not a moment too soon. *SNIFF!* H-hang on a minute.” He grabbed another handful of tissues and blew his nose loudly. While Rick’s guard was down, Morty boldly pulled away his three blankets. Initially, Rick froze in place, unable to react to the sudden change.

Then, he whirled around furiously, yelling, “You little turd! That’s so mean! You can see I’m fr-fr-freezing, Morty! Give those back!”

“Why? You’re gonna be all better any minute now thanks to your little project there, right? Doesn’t sound like you’ll need these.” Morty taunted, backing up a few steps further from Rick.

“I won’t need them then, but I still do now! Give them back!” Rick argued, lunging towards Morty. He missed, and nearly fell over.

“Uh-uh. You want these back, come get them, bitch!”

Morty was now waving the blankets like a matador’s red cape. And like a bull (albeit a shivering, stumbling bull), Rick charged at him again. This time, he managed to make contact, knocking Morty to the floor. He fell down with him in the process, but wasn’t concerned with that.

“I said give those back!” he ordered again, trying and failing to pull the blankets away from Morty.

“I will once you go back to bed! I’ll get you every blanket in the whole damn house if you’ll just do that!” Morty yelled back, tightening his grip on the blankets. Rick thought it over for a few seconds – that was a tempting offer. Shaking his head, he instead resumed trying to pull the blankets away from Morty.

“This isn’t fair, Morty! A sneak attack, and when you know I’m not at full capacity? *COUGH!* That’s a real dick move!” he complained, swatting at Morty’s left arm and hoping that would make him lose his grip.

“It’s for your own good, Rick! And since when do you give a shit about what’s fair?!” Morty scoffed. He kicked Rick’s right leg in hopes that would knock him down. It almost worked. Rick, barely managing to keep his balance, pinched the side of Morty’s right hand hard enough to loosen his hold on the blankets.

“Ah ha! Yes! I win!” Rick exclaimed, almost entirely pulling the blankets away from Morty.

“No the fuck you don’t! This is so stupid, Rick! And it’s gonna stop now!” Morty shot back, shoving Rick backwards and pulling the blankets as forcefully as he could. Rick almost lost his hold on them, but just managed not to, also pulling with as much strength as he could manage. Refusing to let go, Morty ended up being pulled on top of Rick, who tried unsuccessfully to push him off.

“Really, Rick? How long are you planning to keep this up?! Stop fighting me when I’m only trying to help you!” Morty yelled, growing more exasperated by the second.

“Oh, yeah. Some help you are, interfering with my experiments to get rid of this damn virus, and trying to take away my one source of comfort. Great bedside manner you got there, Morty. *Cough!* *Cough!* You should be a doctor when you grow up.” Rick said sarcastically, kicking Morty off him again. Morty rolled his eyes at Rick’s dramatics for what felt like the hundredth time that morning.

“Well, I couldn’t possibly have a worse patient, now could I? And stop with the guilt tripping, because it isn’t going to work.” he replied crossly. The combination tug of war/wrestling match continued. Sick and clearly losing steam as he was, Rick was as stubborn as ever.

Ending up on top of the tussle again, he started to say, “And another thing, Morty! I, I… *AH-AH-ACHOO!*”

“Gross. Completely expected, but still, gross.” Morty sighed. At least being sneezed all over had brought the fight for the blankets to an end. And Rick, for his part, had the decency to look embarrassed. The two of them slowly sat up, the blanket pile now on the floor between them.

“S-sorry. I uh, didn’t mean to do that. I mean, it was kinda your fault, too… No. Nevermind. I’m sorry. Here you go.” Rick mumbled sheepishly, handing Morty the tissue box as a peace offering.

Morty took it and used the last of the tissues to wipe off his face, saying, “Yeah, well you’d better get used to sharing these things, since any chance of me not getting your cold just went out the window.”

“Yeah, sorry for that, too. You know, Morty, so long as my experiment works, I, I’ll do it for you, too. I mean, it wouldn’t be fair to cure myself but just let you suffer. I won’t do that to you.” Rick offered. Morty was about to tell him the experiment wasn’t going to work, but it wasn’t necessary.

As if on cue, the beaker containing the bubbling liquid overflowed, tipping over in the process. It quickly ate a hole through the table, but fortunately didn’t continue through the cement floor.

Looking over his shoulder at the new mess, Rick sighed and admitted, “This isn’t, it isn’t going to work, is it?” Morty just shook his head, annoyed it had taken Rick this long to figure that out, but relieved he finally had.

“Ugh. I feel like shit, Morty.” Rick groaned, slumping forward and starting to shiver again. Morty’s expression softened a little. Yes, Rick was driving him crazy and making what should have been a minor problem into a disaster. But he was also clearly miserable, and Morty felt bad for him.

“I know you do, Rick. But it’ll be okay. You’ll see. Here.” he said gently, getting up from the floor and draping the blankets around Rick’s shoulders again.

“Yeah, sure. I guess. If you say so.” the mad scientist mumbled, pulling them tighter around himself. Morty quickly realized that, while he’d finally managed to talk his grandfather out of his experiments, Rick was now back to his original plan of wanting to sulk on the garage floor all day. Morty wasn’t about to let him do that, either.

“It will. You just need to get some rest. Hey, if you don’t want to go back to bed, let’s go watch TV. It’ll distract you from feeling sick, and the living room’s a lot warmer, so you’ll be more comfortable. Sound good?” he offered, reaching to help Rick off the floor yet again. Rick nodded weakly. Just then, the previously stable beaker resumed flashing and glowing. This continued for a few seconds before it exploded.

“*SIGH!* Come on. Let’s get out of here.” Rick said defeatedly, grabbing onto Morty to steady himself as he stood up.

“Hey, umm, garage? Do you mind dealing with all…this?” Morty asked, gesturing to the series of messes.

“Sure, Morty. It’s not like I have anything better to do today.” the AI replied sarcastically. Several robotic arms emerged from the walls and ceiling and began to clean things and repair damage. The ones dealing with the used tissues and petri dishes wore gloves.

“I mean, you kind of… don’t? But thanks just the same.” Morty replied.

“Whatever. But I guess I shouldn’t complain. My day is going to be a breeze compared to yours.” the AI scoffed. Morty opened his mouth to argue, but quickly realized she was right. He closed the door, sincerely hoping this was the last time he’d have to drag Rick out of the garage today.

Welcome

This is gonna be my fandom sideblog where I literally will just post art of fandom ocs and absolutely ramble about them(Them being my ocs, and whatever fandom I'm hyperfixating on at the time) Although not all fandoms I like I have ocs for and don't plan on making any for.

This is also HEAVILY a canon x oc(Oc NOT personas/self-inserts!!) so if you don't like that, that's fine! Just block me and move on, no big deal! Also I do kind of change some of the settings to fit my oc's in, but it's nothing extreme I don't think. Also I am not taking this blog seriously LOL, I will just ramble about whatever, whenever because holy moly the inside of my brain is an eternal hell. Maybe I could even make some friends with similar interests FHDGHJDGHJ. If you see any fandoms you like that I also like we should ramble about them and if we have any ocs for our mutual fandoms they should be besties! I guess I should get into the fandoms I like!! Oh also cw for some of these fandoms(Like the fanbase is huge and largely toxic, please don't group me in with those toxic people. Also some of them do have some not so great creators, I'll get into it more later. If you have any feeling that you know which ones I'm talking about and don't want to see me talk about them or whatever, then I would recommend not following!) Also not every fandom I have finished reading, watching, playing, and some of them are just fandoms I REALLY wanna get into, some of them are fandoms that I'm not really involved in anymore. FC stands for Favorite Characters and some of them are more like characters I'm interested in/like their design. Anime/manga

Kimi ni Todoke (I'm SO excited for season 3! One of the first animes I have ever watched!! Would recommend if you're looking for a cutesy romance story, although it's still filled with drama. I have no oc's for this story. FC: All of em honestly)

Ouran high school host club (Another one of my first animes, I hold this anime very near to my heart. I know I DID have oc's for this story, but not anymore. I don't think I'll be making any oc's for this story, at least not any time soon. FC: Mori, the twins, Haruhi)

Fruits Basket (Another one of my first anime's LOL! I watched the 2001 version and haven't gotten around to the newer version, though I would like to watch it eventually. I don't have ocs for this story and I'm not planning on making any. FC: Kyo, Momiji)

Blue Lock (I started reading the manga like peak Quarantine, I would be reading this during virtual learning. When the anime came out I watched it with my sister since she used to play soccer, though we never finished sadly, so now I'm rewatching it again on my own. I do have oc's for Blue Lock. FC: Nagi, Rin, Kurona, Kaiser)

Blue Period (I never finished this one, I really need to! I still have oc's for it though. It was recommended to me by my sister who watched it, and I was drawn in because it's an art anime so ofc I would be interested. FC: Haruka)

Tokyo Revengers (I believe I'm still on season 2, like one of the last episodes of season 2, like seriously just finish it already, Star. Anyways I had binged the first season and moved to the manga to finish what was out at the time and I kept up with updates as they came out. Still can't believe season 3 is out, feels like just last week I was watching the first season and being obsessed. I do have oc's for this anime, a lot of them lol I hold them close to my heart despite not having solid designs out yet. FC: Mitsuya, Rindou, Sanzu, Wakasa)

Jujutsu Kaisen (BARK BARK BARK CHOSOOOOO, pardon me. I wonder who my favorite FAVORITE is??? Yeah jjk was an anime I found freshman year of hs, back when Megumi was my main favorite. Anyways the love-hate relationship I hold with this anime is insane. All the bad stuff? never happened, k? I do have oc's for this jjk! FC: Choso, Ino, Megumi, Inumaki, Yuta)

Demon Slayer (I didn't finish the latest season, however I did read the manga after finishing the first season which was all that was out at the time, but I also didn't finish the manga LOL. I do have ocs for kny! FC: Inosuke, Mitsuri, Muichiro, Gyutaro)

Bungo Stray Dogs (I binged the first season and then got bsd burnout soooo yeah I'm only on the second season. I have ocs for bsd! I love the art style and had wanted to get into it for a while, I do want to go back and finish it! FC: Akutagawa, Yumeno, Chuya)

Trigun Stampede (Another anime I never finished, you'll see a lot of these LMAO! I was really drawn by the art style and animation, I believe an edit pushed me to watch it. I still need to finish it and then I also want to watch the original because I've heard a lot of good things about it! Yes, I do have ocs for it as well! FC: Vash!!)

Osomatsu-san (I remember trying to get into it in middle school due to edits and fanart I had seen, I have some old OLD art of those ocs still. I did want to try getting into it again, but I've still only watched like 3 episodes so I'm really not far at all! I want to redesign my old oc's, but yeah I still have em'! FC: Ichimatsu, Karamatsu, Jyushimatsu, Choromatsu)

Nanbaka (I never finished Nanbaka either... I vibe so hard to the opening though, it goes hard. The character designs really caught my attention cause they were just so out there, like I was pretty used to more tame designs but then here Nanbaka is using these vibrant color combos and some interesting hairstyles and catching my eyes. I also have ocs for Nanbaka! I did start watching it again since it had been like 3 years since I watched it. FC: Nico, Kenshirou, Upa, Seitarou)

One Piece (Mmmmm One pee. Yeup. I told myself I would never watch it, mainly because of the cough cough 1000+ episodes and well considering how I struggle to finish animes, knew that the day I finished this anime would be the day hell freezes over. Anyways tell me why like 2 years ago I tried watching it and only made to episode 5 and then I pick it up earlier this year(2023) and make to episode 185 in like a month or two?? What happened to me?? The chokehold this series had on my brain is insane. I definitely have my own issues with it, such as the sexualization of the women and with that the proportions, but honestly I still really like this anime. I also have ocs for one piece, they might honestly be the first ones I show, but its not all of them, just the ones I have references for. FC: Kobe, Shanks, Ace, Sabo, Luffy, Corazon, Penguin, Bepo, Nami, Robin, Chopper)

Hunter x Hunter (Oof! I really need to get watching this anime already. I've wanted to watch it for so long and I've tried over 3 times but I just can't seem to find motivation to watch it. I Did have oc's for this, but obviously since I've hardly even watched it, they're sloppy and need redesigning. FC: Kurapika, Chrollo, Feitan)

Bleach (I know a bit about Bleach through my sister cause while I was hyperfixated on One Piece, she was hyperfixating on Bleach. I sounds interesting, I just haven't made it super far mainly cause I don't have motivation to watch it. I do want to make ocs for Bleach! FC: Chad)

Madoka Magica (I had wanted to watch Madoka Magica for a while but could never find motivation, even now I'm only on episode 2. I do really like what I've seen so far and I'm excited to get to the more messed up parts! FC: Madoka, Sayaka)

Snow White with the Red Hair (It's been like several years and I'm still on the first season. I made it to the final episode of the first season before getting bored and then I came back aware of a season 2 and wanted to watch it so I wanted to finish the first season but then wanted to rewatch the first season to remember what happened but I'm still not at season 2 yet because I haven't continued watching it in months. You'll see this happen a lot as well with me. I don't have any ocs for this and don't plan on making any. FC: Shirayuki, Obi)

Full Metal Alchemist (I've only ever heard good things about Full Metal Alchemist and so I've wanted to watch it for years, but I never got around to it. I still do want to watch it, but I'm not sure when. I also don't know if I'll ever make ocs for this show either?? FC: unsure as of now)

Haikyuu (I think I'm still on season 3/4 I can't remember which one. I did start rewatching it again, I made it to episode 15 so yay, I need to watch more. I started watching in middle school, got bored and took a break and then went back to it in high school, and now I'm watching it again. I do have oc's for Haikyuu! FC: Kenma, Sugawara, Iwaizumi, Osamu)

My Hero Academia (Thank goodness I wasn't there for the peak worst part of mha. I mean I had watched a bit of mha in middle school, but I never really got into it. I do love the style and the characters though, and I really like what I've heard about with the story and stuff, I'm excited to catch up. I'm currently on the 3rd season and I do have oc's for mha! FC: Taishiro(Yes, I love both versions, there is no being a Fatgum simp if you only like the skinny version>:(, Mirio, Amajiki, Ragdoll.)

The Ancient Magus Bride (I've wanted to watch this anime for a while and finally got around to it. It's not at all how I was expecting, though I enjoy it! I don't think I'll make ocs for this anime. FC: Silky, Ruth)

Attack on Titan (This anime has a special place in my heart and honestly I was debating ever continuing it. I watched it way back when it only had 1 season with my mother and my sister and we were patiently waiting for season 2, however my mom passed away like a year before season 2 so my sister and I never watched anymore since we always considered that to be an us three kind of thing, it just didn't feel right to watch it without mom. But now that I'm older and it's over, I want to watch it again. If ghosts exist, then maybe my mothers ghost can watch it with my sister and I! I don't have any oc's yet, but I do want to make some. FC: Armin)

Blue Exorcist (Something similar to aot happened to blue exorcist as well. It was an anime that mom and I watched together. I believe one season was out at the time as well. I never watched the ova or season 2, mainly cause I didn't know they had been released, but when I found out I held back since that was like mom and I's thing, but once again, I wanna try watching it again. I don't know if I'll make any oc's for Blue Exorcist. FC: Rin)

The Apothecary Diaries (I love shoujo anime so this is a must watch. I also really enjoy the main character like a lot! Like she kind of slays, she a baddie. Pumpkin Night (Okay the website I was using to read this manga had a horrible translator and that kinds threw me off, but pushing that aside, I really REALLY like this manga. The style is really clean and pretty, and I love Naoko's design. I believe I saw an edit of her years ago in early middle school and wanted to read it since and got around to it in early high school. It's really gory, so if you don't like that, would recommend you avoid it. uhm and depending on which website you're using, you may have really horrible translations, I don't mean like bad grammar or anything like that, that would be absolutely fine, I'm talking about the translator being a shitty person. Yona of the Dawn (Kimi no Todoke gave me newfound hope that Yona of the Dawn will get another season despite all this time, I am clinging on to threads honestly. I've spent so many night crying, hoping for a season 2. Everyone who has watched YotD wants a season 2, come on please! I NEED it!! Like I still see the manga getting updates so there's plenty of content to make a season 2 and once again its in high demand from those who watched/read YotD. Land of the Lustrous (Another anime I'm clinging onto to hope with for a season 2. I NEED it. Remarried Empress (Ooooo pulling all-nighters in high school to read this was definitely my favorite decision. Death is the only ending for the Villainess (Also pulling all-nighters to read this during high school. I loved the art style and the story. Spy x Family (Watched this anime with my sister, though we never finished it. We finished season one and think we made it kind of far into season 2. Beastars (I haven't watched the anime or read the manga but I want to! I've heard so many people talk trash about this anime before giving it a chance since it's "furries" but then like when they do watch it or for those who watched it without judging it, only say good things. I do know some spoilers, like I'd say I know like the basics. But I love the animation and art style and the story seems really interesting! I know I'll have to read the manga since no more seasons will be coming out sadly, but also because of the side stories. I don't know if I'll ever make oc's for Beastars. FC: Unsure as of now)

Chainsaw Man (I remember my sister reading the manga and then us finding out that there was gonna be an anime adaptation, so I held off on the reading. I really liked the style and animation, and the opening made it to my spotify wrapped last year. I did have oc ideas in mind, I never got around to designing them. My Little Pony (I remember skipping school in 4th grade to binge the seasons that were out on netflix. I used to have a whole bunch of mlp toys as well. I loved mlp so much when I was younger! I did want to rewatch it again recently, sometimes it's just really nice to go back and watch shows you loved as a kid, even if you cringe at how obsessed younger you was with the show(Pretty sure I tried doing a fluttershy cosplay with what I already had when I was younger.) I have a ton of mlp ocs, that I made on pony town since I really struggle with drawing ponies, but I think I'm getting better! FC: Fluttershy, Pinkiepie, Princess Luna)

South Park (I had wanted to watch south park for a long time but just never had anywhere to watch it until recently! That said I obviously haven't made it far lol. Think I'm only of season 3 or something. Obviously the show has horrible humor and touches on bad topics in a poor manner so avoid this if you're sensitive to that stuff, not that there's anything wrong with that of course! I do have oc's for this show and I'm working on my own sort of au I guess. The south parkies will NOT like me I guarantee. Ninjago (I remember this show airing when I was around 9-10, somewhere around that age group, and I wasn't super interested, think I watched like an episode or two. But then like I had started hearing all this talk about Ninjago online and it was only good stuff and I had wanted to watch it since. Too bad the fandom's pretty much dead :( I'm still not done watching it. I do have oc's for it though! FC: Kai, Llyod, Nya)

Lego Monkie Kid (I've rewatched this series 3 times within the past 2 months, so if that's any indicator on how good this show is and how much I love it, there's your sign to watch it. I got my bestie to watch it as well and now we're both hyperfixated. It's great and the seasons and episodes are both short so it's a really easy show to binge. I love the characters and the story. I also love the Eternal Servants au by @/emelinstriker (Sorry I don't know if it would be okay to tag her over something like this, I'll tag her properly when I do fanart!) Arcane (I was shocked when I found out this was a League of Legends show, it also kind of dissuaded me from watching it, but I'm so glad I did! This show is so well done! I've named plants after the characters, I have a little solar light-up polar bear named "Claggor", I named my cat "Ecko", and not that this was intentional, but when my sister and I first watched it my hair was dyed blue and hers was dyed pink. Needless to say, I love Jinx and I've never related to a character as much as I do with her. I'm so excited for season 2. I won't be making oc's for this show though. FC: Jinx, Ekko, Victor)

Bluey (I love this show so much! A huge comfort. I understand that some might be drawn away by the fact it's like a children's show, but it was really comforting to me. Like it was nice to see a good family, not perfect of course, a good and healthy family. And some parts reminded me of me and my sister. And the show isn't just like some normal kids show where the characters are asking you where an apple is when its right in front of them, no this show actually feels like it's teaching me something. Like this is something that I would show my kids and be able to watch this with them. I won't be making oc's for Bluey. FC: Bingo)

AMONGUS (Among us was really fun to play with friends, it sucks that I'm so bad at it though. It's also so easy to tell when I'm imposter cause I just target one of my best friends, she does the same to me, it's great. I do have among us ocs! I even made a little story around them!)

Witches Heart (I finished watching manlybadasshero play the main game but I don't think I ever finished the bonus stories. I love the story and the artstyle, it's a big inspiration for when I'll make rpg's. I think I might make oc's for this story, but I'd want to watch it again. FC: Wilardo, Sirius, Noel)

Your Turn to Die (I haven't watched the latest update yet so I'm not caught up yet, I also haven't watched since freshman year so I want to watch it again. I was like hyperfixated on this game the entire freshman year, I was doodling my ocs and the characters on my worksheets. It was great talking to my friend, who was the one that got me into it, about it! I did have ocs, but they're old and in need of a redesign, I'll be redoing them! Genshin Impact (Oof. This one is difficult to talk about. I hardly play this game anymore, I think the last time I played it was when Sumeru came out because I wanted to explore the region. Anyways I was super obsessed with this game back in 2019-2021??? somewhere around those times. Everything was really fun in the beginning and then it got exhausting and I have issues with the creators, especially with the release of Sumeru characters. I still do have ocs and I think about them from time to time, they're still early in development as well, I want them to be detailed like the in-game characters. I feel I have more bad things to say about this game rather than good things, but it doesn't stop this game from being an important part in my life. Honkai Star Rail (I really don't play this game much but I kept up with it during development and excitedly waited for its release date. I still somewhat keep up with it but I really don't play it often. I do like the game more then Genshin though, I just get exhausted with grinding games. Danganronpa (Middle school was wild. I was into Danganronpa before it reached it's peak in 2020-2021, I was into it in like 2017-2018 and then kind of got back into it in 2020, but mainly with my own ocs and fangame ideas. I just remember the fanbase being so toxic in 2020 and even now some of the fans are not so good(Which is obvious, every fandom has it's bad apples.) I also have issues with the game, such as the sexualization of the teens and even younger in ultra despair girls. Animal Crossing (Dude I was obsessed with Animal crossing for a bit. New horizons is the first and only animal crossing game I've played, but I remember watching the horror places in new leaf, I loved watching the scary things in animal crossing when I was younger. Cookie Run (I don't have much to say other then I just log into cookie run almost every day and that's it, I don't really do anything like I used to. Kingdom and ovenbreak. Wadanohara and the great blue sea (Okay so for the Okegom stories, I'm more so still into them for the nostalgia and my own ocs. I do love the style as well but the creator is...awful. I got into these stories in middle school so it's been awhile and I didn't realize that the creator wasn't a good person. WATGBS is really nostalgic and has a special place in my heart. What in Hell is bad (oh gosh, this game is well its a game alright. It's really funny to me, like I cant take it seriously. Mainly because of the gacha animation, but also it's just funny. Although this would be torture for me if I was actually in the game since it's really sexual and my demisexual ass would be disgusted. Anyways, I definitely have issue's with this game, like some of the philia's are problematic(like Necrophilia, I don't remember all of them but I think that's the worst of them) and also due to circumstances in the game, noncon in common in the game which is yikes. Our Life (I love pouring 70+ hours into this game. I was obsessed. This game means so much to me. Cove Holden is my standard. Our Life: Beginnings and Always made me sob at so many parts, and I'm expecting the same for OL:NF. Anyways, I do have oc's for both Our Life's! FC: literally everyone)

Ensemble Stars (I love finding out how messed up this little idol game is. I was into the game before Ensemble Stars!! came out, so I was into the first game, but I couldn't ever play it, and finally it came out in English and on the phone/computer. Undertale (I love this gam so so SO much, it means so much to me. Sadly I was there for the worst parts of the fandoms, I had just witnessed it, I didn't participate in it. I was a sans fangirl but not those that would make videos of killing other sans fangirls, I liked the fangirls that got together and became friends! I made an entire series off of my old Undertale oc's That said they aren't Undertale oc's anymore, maybe I'll make some in the future idk. Deltarune (I didn't finish chapter 2. I really like this game and the music if a huge inspiration for me!
