I will explain my point,

Nico lost Bianca, the sister he loved dearly when he was young. he got to express that grief and anger.

Will lost all his older siblings (Lee, Micheal, etc) when he was young. he never got to express that grief and anger.

Nico is an extrovert forced to be an introvert because of his trauma

Will is an introvert forced to be an extrovert because of his trauma

Nico is "darkness", but he has "light"

Will is "light" but he has "darkness"

And the coin symbolism in TSATS. One side with Wills Sun tattoo, the other with Hades's helm of darkness.

The sun and the star

Will being the sun, he's warm and can heal but it can also burn and hurt

Nico being the star, He shines in the darkness. "to be a star you must burn"

Do you see what i mean? They're only opposites attract in aesthetics.

Okay so I might’ve mentioned that I’m writing a fic where the children of Percabeth, Solangelo, and Valgrace go on an epic quest to rescue their parents and the rest of the Seven from the clutches of evil and I’ve kinda been Hyperfixating on it for a while so here is the first character I would like to info-dump about.

Meet Finley Di Angelo-Solace!!!

He’s currently my favourite out of the Next-gen trio and definitely the one I have the most fun writing for. I genuinely love him sm.

Rant under the cut-

Fin is the son of Nico and Will, and was created using divine godly magic so is biologically both theirs (hey if Zeus can have a baby from his thigh this can happen)

His powers are a complex amalgamation of both of his parents: he can shadow-travel in sunlight, he can heal and talk to the dead and his main weapon is archery

He’s autistic

He has hypersensitive hearing (it could be an Apollo thing, it could be an Autism thing we don’t know. It’s probably both)

He prefers ranged combat partially because he is touch-averse and likes to keep his distance (also bc the other two characters both use melee weapons so I needed some variety)

I see your “Trans Will Solace” hc and I raise you- “Transmasc son of Solangelo who they love and support so so much”

He will INSIST on wearing a binder throughout the entire quest, rib cage be damned! (This will become a problem bc apparently you’re supposed to take breaks and you’re not supposed to do any physical exercise in them so running around chasing monsters is not gonna go well)

A big theme in the fic is gonna be “names have power- but the name you choose is so much more important than the name you were given”, a continuation of the theme from my Married Valgrace AU (which this is canon to) where Jason chooses to take Leo’s name instead of keeping the name of the mom that abandoned him. I feel like Finley would be a great character to symbolise this- someone who chose his own name.

His favourite colour is green/turquoise

Think of Nico’s scariest moment that you’ve read in canon or in a fic- where he is just a force of complete and utter darkness and death. Are you picturing it? Good. Now multiply that by ten. Now imagine someone tried to misgender his child.

The same can be applied to Will. No transphobe would dare mess with Solangelo’s boy.

He is childhood best friends with the two other main characters, Isabella and Olympia, and talks to them a lot but is kinda shy around everyone else.

He also has a major crush on Isabella- the daughter of Valgrace. I have so many cute hcs about those two y’all have no idea.

He is good with medicine and has a magic first-aid kit that acts a lot like Leo’s tool belt with replenishing supplies.

He loves Star Wars

While all the other characters’ POV chapters have regular PJO-style funny titles, all his chapter titles are TOA-esque haikus.

The thought of Valgrace and Solangelo (specifically Jason and Nico) having each other on emergency parenting speed dial is so funny to me. They really just adopted kids with the other one’s powers by accident

With Sofía being a Luna legacy, her main powers are linked to shadow control, which obviously Nico knows way more about than Leo or Jason do. Veronica, being a child of Nike, really struggles with controlling their ability to fly, and Jason is really the only one who can help with that.

Jason will go back and forth about whether it’s even okay to Iris Message Nico because it’s so late (it’s midnight, at least Will is most definitely still up, Jason should know this) but he does eventually end up calling because his daughter is currently wafting shadows and it doesn’t seem to bother her but. Is this just a normal Shadow Child Thing or does he need to be concerned???

Meanwhile Nico doesn’t even bother to call, he will not hesitate to shadow travel right in front of Jason’s face at any given time going “Jason my child is on the ceiling and we cannot get them down”

everything in my heart just wants a percabeth + solangelo team adventure. just. annabeth and will just running behind their boyfriends who are either a) unleashing their destructive powers on the world or b) rolling around fighting like street cats or c) just falling into traumatic depressive spirals together. it'd be the best double date ever. four tartarus survivors kicking butt.

Dark Percy this, dark Jason that. Have you even LOOKED at Nico???

He survived Tartarus. ALONE. A place that Percy would never have made it through without Annabeth, a place that pushed him to the limits of his powers and morals. Let me repeat that. TARTARUS. Percy only glimpsed the horrors of that place, and he said it would have driven him insane. The strength of mind and will that journey must have taken, nevermind the power, should mark him out immediately.

When he gets mad, darkness pours from the ground around his feet. Skeletons and ghosts rise up around him. I've seen people talk about Percy exploding toilets, but that was when he was younger and had less control. Nico is so powerful that that happens when he's exhausted and upset. Plants around him wither and die when he doesn't actively prevent his power from overflowing. The potential for destruction in that is UNFATHOMABLE and he thinks nothing of it! NO ONE does!!

He commands ghosts and spirits and zombies, serves Hades, travels through Tartarus, shadow travels (the amount of strength his journey with Reyna must have taken??? Insane) all through the books. I honestly think he is even more overpowered than Percy, it just is ignored. He's not built up as anything more than an edgy loner, but he's damn powerful. A child of the Big Three. A son of HADES.

And this is his normal. We haven't seen his journey through Tartarus. We don't know what his Akhlys was. We can only guess at how destructive and powerful it was, because what we see is Nico as he is normally, not dark Nico.

Dark Nico would be terrifying.

I just love everything about this fanart. I had such fun adding in all the little details based on various hcs, from Nico’s eyeshaddow and scars to Will’s halloweeney nails and his bracelets. They’re just the couple ever I love them so much. This is probably the best thing I’ve drawn yet. Happy Halloween, y’all!
