thinking about the fact that the lyrics of the "open arms" chorus are polites' final thoughts and polites' final word spoken aloud is "captain" (desperate, hurt, pleading) and how that means even as he was at the mercy of the cyclops, even as he was probably terrified but all too aware of what was about to happen to him, he was still thinking about all of the guilt he knew was already in odysseus heart. how much more guilt was GOING to be in odysseus' heart after his death.

and how he spent those final seconds wanting to tell odysseus to still, despite it all, greet the world with open arms.

i see a lot of debate on komaeda’s music taste, and i want you all to consider a komaeda that exclusively listens to classical music.

Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri, 12.5k words, oneshot + epilogue

"Maybe it would be good for you, something like this." Lando looks away from the espresso machine, over at Charles. "Like what?" "A vampire." "Charles," Lando breathes out, leaning against the back of his workstation and crossing his arms. "I've told you, it's not..." it's a me problem. He's the one that can't seem to connect to people, he's the one that's not noteworthy enough to want.

AKA Oscar as a baby vamp that refuses to accept what he is x Lando as a man that's always felt on the outskirts of life.

This is truly the fic that threw me into that informal hiatus ((which I'm still not calling off because life and my mental health are volatile atm)). I'm actually terribly nervous to share, because it's been rattling around in my brain for so long now that it feels deeply personal -- even though it's just silly little pining words on a screen.

Pls treat it gently it’s like my child at this point.
