! Pride Month Challenge 2024 !
Well hi there, everyone! With May winding down to a close and June just around the corner, it's about that time again...the time where @jadedsunshine, @unicornaffair, and I host our yearly create-a-thon! đ„ł
What's the Pride Month Challenge, you might find yourself asking? Well, this year it's a little bingo game we've put together, featuring some classic tropes. The aim of this particular game? Make something!!! Anything! Just get those creative juices a-flowin' and see if you can snag a B-I-N-G-O along the way!
This challenge is open to everyone and anyone who wants to take part, whether you know the three of us or not! We're going to be using the tag #pridemonthchallenge2024 for the stuff we create, so if you decide to join in on the fun and games, feel free to stick that tag on whatever you make, too! If you're interested in more details, you can check below the cut or reach out and ask ;)c
Either way, happy almost-pride, and happy creating!!!
I don't write fic - can I still participate?
Ab. So. Lutely!!! We've done this challenge for a few years now (we've missed a year or two for weddings and other life stuff, whoops!), but in the past we've had people doodle, sketch, draw, make edits, create props or other physical art, and even curate playlists! The three of us are writers, so you're very likely to see fic or ficlets from us...but you? Oh. Oh, you can do whatever your heart desires!!!
Are there word limits/expectations for a finished product?
NO!!! :D Zero. Literally zero expectations. We aren't putting together an exchange, we aren't holding a competition, we're just trying to get the spirit of creation in the air. That's it! So whether you're writing 50 words or 5,000, whether you've made a rough sketch on a notebook page or fully lined/colored a scene, you're good! You're so good. As long as you've made something, you've earned a stamp on that bingo card, baby!!!
What if I don't want to do something fandom-y? Can it be OCs/original work?
OF COURSE!!! 100%. You don't even have to ask!!! Show the world your OCs! Tell the world about your story's worldbuilding! It's all fair game :)
What if I don't want to post what I made?
Don't sweat it! Again, this is...the farthest thing from official. This is for fun, and this is for the sake of making something. Sharing your work can be nerve-wracking - don't feel like you have to! We'd love to see you playing along with us, of course, but as long as you've made something that you're proud of, you've earned that stamp! No ifs, ands, or buts!
Is it cool if my creations aren't necessarily pride-themed?
Totally! We host this challenge during pride month because (1) it traditionally works better for the three of us than NaNoWriMo because of our schedules, and (2) we're queer creators ourselves! But if you're feeling a prompt and can't find a way to make it relevant to pride, PLEASE don't sweat it! As I've been known to say (and then get laughed at for saying), this challenge is no rules, just right, Outback Steakhouse :P
Let's say I get a bingo...what do I win?
:) Nothing. <3
Wait, really?
:) Really <3 Hehehe, in all seriousness, this challenge has been a fun way for us to sit down, take our minds off of life and our bigger projects and just...make some fun stuff! In our humble opinion(s), being able to point at a finished piece and say "I did that! I made that!" is its own kind of reward. The bingo board itself is really more for bragging rights ;)c Which, of course, we encourage wholeheartedly. Nothing wrong with a little bragging!!!
We hope to have you along for our month-long adventure! Again, we're going to be using the tag #pridemonthchallenge2024 for our own stuff, so if you'd like to use that tag - or tag any of us!!! - in whatever you end up creating, feel free!!! We love seeing what everyone comes up with, and this challenge is always so much more fun, knowing other people are taking part! <3 Hope to see you along for the ride!
*The bingo board was made by the lovely @jadedsunshine đ„°
#pridemonthchallenge2024#queenie writes challenge stuff#<- i'll also be sticking that tag onto the things /i/ make personally in case anyone wants to blacklist or keep an eye out!#PLEASE feel free to reblog and PLEASE feel even freer to play along at home!!!#we love doing this challenge so so much and we're so excited to get back into it!!!

felt awkward to tack this on the prev post so i'm,.,,,,,,,,, here
but!! i'm not just gonna like Make An OC and then only ever have one drawing and a small blurb about them and then just never acknowledge them again, no!! i gotta properly doodle and figure things about about the character and Make Them A Proper Character!!! so i doodled more of aron's helsmet :VVV
and then also. wrote about aron's helsmet. to feel out the character and explore around how she and her person interact with and feel about each other :VVVVV
Posting the one-shot under the cut!!!
It had been a good hour and a half of solid work when the redstoner, hunched over a worktable with bits and bobs in hand, realized she didn't have enough redstone to finish what she'd wanted to get done for the day. She bit back an irritated sigh, and opted to check the drawers under her work table. None there, just like there was none in her backup storage on the other side of the room, just like there was none in her inventory. She let the sigh loose as she slumped into her chair, and ran her hand down her face. Her eyes glanced to the project currently taking up her free time: while right now it was a mess of metal and circuitry, one day it was going to be a pair of glider wings. Gods and saints knew she wasn't ever going to get her hands on any elytra or her counterpart's wings, so she knew she'd have to make them on her own if she wanted them. This did mean, however, a visit that she didn't want to bother with, ever, preferably. But she couldn't afford to pay anyone else to make any sort of supply runs for her, and wasn't sure she'd even want to anyway- she felt ripped off last time she'd tried that.
Resigned, she pushed herself up to standing, and started rummaging around in her chests for supplies. Pickaxes, armor, torches, sword, anything she needed for a run. Several minutes later, she stood with a ready inventory in the middle of the room, hands on her hips as she let her eyes wander over everything. ...And keep wandering over everything.
Hels help her, she did not want to go.
But she rolled her eyes at her own stupid procrastination, and looked to the nearest light source- currently her lamp on the desk- and focused. And briefly, inexplicably, she felt traces of warmth on her skin as from the sun, and could swear a faint breeze barely rustled her hair as she caught a slight whiff of something fresh and green and growing. Trees. A forest.
Better put her armor on first, then. Feather falling would only help so much, but better than nothing. And besides, her other's competence in flying would be enough to keep them from crashing too hard, she was confident in that much. She buckled the boots on with a grim smirk.
At least she'd get to have fun with it.
Enchantment on, she again focused on the light, mentally preparing to act fast as soon as she was over. The light, and slowly, everything else in the room, fuzzed into white as she tipped over the precipice of spatial travel, and went into freefall. Her stomach flipped as new surroundings blinked into view, namely open sky, and her hand shot out and grabbed at the green blur in her peripheral.
"Ack-!"
She'd caught hold, and the two spun out.
"What are-?!"
The world somehow righted, and she silently gripped the harness strap she'd managed to nab as they awkwardly stilted through the trees down to the ground. It wasn't as hard of a landing as she'd hoped- they still both stumbled around each other and ended up on their knees at the end of it- but she'd take what she could get.
"What was that for?" her other, Aron, asked, breathless.
She didn't answer, instead looking around at their surroundings. Should be something decent nearby. She set off in a direction.
"Hey, wait wait wait-!" Aron called, jogging to catch up. "Nice to see you, too," she said sarcastically, and was again met with silence. It stuck for a second or two before Aron started again. "Really, though, like- I could feel when you were about to- I can get down to the ground before you do that, probably, just like- can you wait next time, maybe?"
"I know you can," she responded, but otherwise didn't answer.
Aron made a flabbergasted noise. "Then why- we could've both been hurt! Or respawned!"
She just shrugged.
There was the start of a reply behind her, and then it cut off with a sigh.
They walked in silence for a second.
"...So what are you doing?"
"Why d'you need to know?"
"I dunno, it's- I mean, if- I could help you with something."
She'd just tried to- why would- ugh. This was why she didn't like her. Always tried to kiss up to everyone.
Or kiss up to her, at least. Absolutely useless gesture.
"I'm gettinâ materials, if you really have to know. And no, I don't need you to come with. What part of I Tried To Take Us Both Out Of The Sky made you think I'd want help?"
The steps behind her stopped, and she relaxed a little- but then they started up again.
"Well, it's- it's just dangerous in the caves and such by yourself, so... You prob'ly should have help, y'know? Besides, I uh... I was going to get materials, too."
Great.
Perfect.
Wonderful.
...And yet, she had to acknowledge one of Aron's points. Caving was dangerous on your own, particularly when you were still unaccustomed to all of the dangers this world was only too keen to provide. Having a second person... could be useful, she supposed.
She sighed.
"Fine. Anything happens to me, I'm gonna blame you."
âOk! Um, that- that works, you can do that. Uh⊠the cave I was gonna go to was over there.â She assumed Aron pointed, and a glance back showed she did, off to the left. âIâd marked it the other day, but I never went in to check it out properly. We couldâŠ?â
Well, itâd be quicker than trying to find one on her own. She pivoted, and quietly snerked when Aron just about ran into her.
She heard Aron take in a breath, but didnât find out if she was going to comment on the pivot or the laugh because she apparently thought better of it and didn't say anything at all.
â-----
Surprisingly, Aron was fairly quiet for the trip to the cave- and even when they arrived, she was still quiet aside from the occasional callout- she needed the coal here, the iron over there would be good, sheâll grab this gravel real quick to try for flint later. It was something she reciprocated, if only for sake of not losing each other.
It was⊠weird.
And nice.
It almost felt like she was alone, really, but without the worries of having to constantly watch her back. She kept an eye on the front, and Aron faithfully kept up the rear.
At one point, they found a huge dripstone cavern. Even upon first glance it was clear there was a lot of loot to be had- and mobs to clear out. Aron provided a water bucket for a safe decent.
She noticed Aron didnât use her wings to get down, instead going down the water after her.
She wasnât sure whether she was insulted or not.
âIf you donât mind me asking, um- whatâre you getting materials for?â
And there it was. Asked with the worst timing, as well, because they were reaching the bottom.
So all she answered with was, âMobs,â and pulled her sword and shield out, to which Aron awkwardly conceded and pulled out her own weapon.
The blessed lack of conversation resumed as they circled out from their drop point, throwing down torches and clearing out what they could.
But no good thing lasts forever, and when no mobs were in sight, Aron brought it up again.
âSo- since theyâre all gone, what uh- whatâre the materials for?â
âIâm makinâ a giant bomb to drop off at your base next time I visit.â
âI- sorry, what?â Aron squeaked, and she rolled her eyes.
âBeinâ facetious. Itâs a personal project. Not for you.â
â...Oh.â
Silence, only broken by a faint skeletonâs clatter that was too far off to bother with. She spotted some iron and opened her mouth to call it, but Aron spoke first.
âOh, hey, uh- thereâs some uh- thereâs some gold up there.â Aron pointed to a crevice, and they both set off towards it. Sheâd get the iron after.
â...Um, also, I know you donât want- me to call you⊠my name.â Oh hels, this again. âBut itâs⊠kinda weird to just like- âheyâ at you, yâknow? Um. Is there anything that uh⊠youâd like to be called?â
Truth be told, this was something thatâd stuck with her the last time theyâd had this discussion and though, at the time, she gave no answer at all and made sure to be plenty rude about it, sheâd mulled it over a bit. Eventually, she did come up with something, though it was a tad on-the-nose.
It was just Aron in reverse. Nora. Simple, but it seemed fitting, all things considered.
But she didnât want Aron to ever call her that, let alone call her any sort of consistent name ever, so she didnât say anything about wanting to be called Nora.
âNo.â
âLike⊠not even a nickname, or anythingâŠ?â
âNah. Keep âheyâing me all you want. Or⊠um- something. Donât call me anything. No names.â Nora reached the gold first. Aron let her have them, apparently stumped by her answer. Or stunned, either way. âSaw some iron back there,â she said after grabbing the grand total of two pieces of gold ore, and started back towards it without checking if she was being followed. The footsteps behind her told her she didnât need to. As she walked, she looked to the side- and down. There was a whole other level to the cavern below them, and she was already attempting to take stock of what there was down there. It was really dark, so she couldnât hardly see anything, but she thought she might could make out some redstone in the wall closer to the top.
Finally.
Clattering bones sounded again suddenly, much closer than they had been before, and she turned just in time to get an arrow to her shoulder. She gasped, hand darting to it as she stumbled back from the hit- and then all air escaped her lungs as she slipped right off the edge and plummeted. Air whistled past her ears as she somehow managed to wriggle herself to face the ground, desperately trying to get her water bucket out despite the fact that sheâd never actually had to clutch before and didnât even know if she could but she was falling too fast and couldnât wrestle the darn thing out in time and
She jerked as her momentum was suddenly swooped to the side. Nora wheezed, the pull stretching her coveralls tight against her throat, but as they slowed to a stop in the near pitch-black, she decided she did at least prefer that to dying and having to come back again later. Aron settled them against the ground smoothly, making sure Nora was on her feet before clicking her wings back into place.
âAre you-â Groans started filling the cavern. âRight-! Right, shelter first, right yes, um-â Nora screwed her eyes shut as Aron threw a torch down, the light blinding on eyes that had been attempting to adjust. âUhhHH over here!â Aron grabbed at Noraâs wrist, but she jerked it away. Aron halted awkwardly, and glanced up, making eye contact.
Nora couldnât even come up with anything to say, and upon realizing she didnât have time to anyways, shouldered past Aron (on her good side, of course) and stalked towards the wall behind her. Probably, hopefully, where Aron had been planning on going anyway. She pulled out a pickaxe and slammed it into the wall, biting back a yelp as it jarred her hurt shoulder. Once her other joined her they made quick work of digging out an alcove and quickly dropping materials in front to block them in. This time, Nora already had her eyes shut when Aron stuck a torch down in the small space. Eyes still closed, she leaned back against the wall, this time wincing, and slid down it, a now emptied hand going back to her shoulder. The arrow was still in it.
âDo you need-â
âI donât have any potions on me.â
â-Ah. I think I do, umâŠâ Aron started digging in her bag, and after a second, triumphantly pulled out two. âAh! I do! Um, here, I can-â
âJust give it,â Nora hissed, jerking forwards and snatching one out of Aronâs hand- and Aron flinched back, breath hitching for just a moment. Nora purposefully wasnât looking at her, and wasnât watching out of the corner of her eye as she tried to tear the cork out with her teeth, and definitely didnât notice the solid second it took for Aronâs shoulders to- possibly forcefully- relax.
Except she definitely was and did, and puffed out a breath through her nose at Aronâs reaction. Good. She needed to keep Aron on her toes anyway. Or something like that.
If only the stupid bottle would-
âUm. âŠhere,â Aron said quietly, holding out the other bottle. Sheâd already pulled the cork out. Nora paused, fixing her eyes on the bottle. After a second, she put the one sheâd been wrestling one-handed in her pocket and took the offered one. And then promptly downed it, and before she could second-guess what she was doing, she grabbed the arrow and yanked it out as hard as she could- and it hurt.
But she wasnât going to cry- not here, not in front of Aron, not while the healing potion was already making her want to scratch her whole shoulder clean off, not while she was gripping it in iron fingers with eyes scrunched and teeth bared and backed against the wall.
And then it was over, and she was fine.
She was fine.
Slowly, she took a breath, and then another, eyes still shut, head tilting back against the wall.
She didnât want to have to acknowledge literally anything that happened in the past two minutes.
She didnât want to acknowledge how stupid it had been to walk that close to the edge, didnât want to acknowledge Aron swooping in, didnât want to acknowledge the potions, Aron's reaction, none of it. At all.
Aron probably wouldnât let her not acknowledge it in some form or fashion, but she still had the two of them sit in silence for as long as Aron could stand it.
âŠWhich turned out to be a lot longer than Nora thought it would be. The silence stretched on, slowly becoming thick with awkward air that apparently neither wanted to address.
âOh.â
Nora glanced up at the hushed statement. Aron was staring at the wall. Noraâs eyes followed the line of sight.
Embedded in the wall right above her head was redstone ore.
âOh,â she echoed.
They stared at the redstone.
And then with a sigh, Nora pushed herself up, and then pulled her pickaxe out.
It turned out to be a decent-sized vein. Still not as much as she wanted, but at least it was something to work with. She could pull out now if she wanted to.
She glanced back at the torch.
âŠShe didnât want to have to come back for a while. She took in a breath, and looked over at Aron.
âI need more.â
Aron nodded, and then pushed herself up as well. After a moment, they broke the wall down and began clearing out mobs.
â-----
Too much time passed before Nora blinked back into her home. Aron had tried to say a goodbye once she realized Nora was leaving, though she hadnât managed to get it out quick enough. But it was enough that Nora could tell what she was trying to say.
She wandered into her workroom, and looked around.
Despite her looking at everything in the room, she wasnât really seeing it all, almost looking past the room as her mind sat and dwelled.
She really shouldnât have accepted the help in the first place. She knew it was good that she did, in the end, and she knew she would have been in a lot worse of a spot if she hadnât, and things would have been a lot more frustrating in different ways, but.
No matter how much she tried.
No matter how much she tried, Aron still tried harder. And it was so frustrating, because it was working.
Everything, everything- from the open lack of hostility despite everything Nora threw at her or didnât, despite Nora trying to take them both down from the get-go, despite the words and the pushing and the anger- Aron still tried.
And the kicker was that it was genuine. Aron could be a tad idiotic going about it, but the genuine friendly intent was still there.
Nora inhaled for a long second, and then released slowly.
She walked to her desk, and pulled redstone out of her inventory, then paused when something shifted against her leg.
Her hand dug in her pocket, and pulled out the other health potion.
âŠThis was why she didnât like her.
Because even though she grabbed her mid-flight, she knew they wouldnât crash.
Because even though she was rude, Aron wanted to help.
Because even though she shouldnât, Aron wanted a name to call her by.
Because even though the universe pitted them against each other, Aron cared too much to let her fall.
Because even if their positions were swapped, Nora would have done the same.
Because even though Aron startling was good, she still felt guilty about scaring her.
She didn't like her because no matter how hard she tried not to, she did anyway.
Nora stared at the health potion.
She put it down.
She took a breath.
She got to work.

I'm Your Venus - Chapter 3
Robin Buckley x f!reader/f!oc
series masterlist
Robin really likes candy, and the new girl in town.
warnings | 18+ angst, era-typical homophobia, fluff so sweet it'll give ya a toothache
Robin thinks that this is the best summer sheâs had in the whole eighteen years of her life. Sheâs been seeing Duckie for two weeks now, spending nearly every night at her house half-watching movies sheâs been renting with her employee discount and half-making out until she canât feel her face anymore. Itâs been so, totally, perfect. Except for maybe one little thing.
It had started during one of her shifts when a couple came in to rent some tapes. They were laying the PDA on thick, holding hands and giggling into each otherâs ears as they browsed the aisles. Normally, that type of thing didnât even register to Robin. But that day, seeing their lovey-dovey display, she started getting really pissed off. It came to a head as she was checking them out, slamming the drawer of the cash register and bluntly glaring at them, no âhave a nice dayâ to be found as they awkwardly walked out. Steve had witnessed the whole bizarre interaction.
âUh, Robs, pretty sure that wasnât in the employee handbook of how to treat customers.â She groans, leaning against the counter and dragging a hand down her face.
âDid you see how annoying they were being, I mean, wooh! Get a room, perverts.â Her friend raises an eyebrow at her, sidling up next to her and nudging her with his elbow.
âPeople come in here like that all the time, and itâs never bothered you before. I could practically see the smoke coming out of your ears while you checked them out. Whatâs the big deal?â She sighs, both knowing exactly what the big deal is but also being too proud to admit it. She doesnât give Steve any real answer, just shrugging and telling him that sheâs going on her break, heading towards the backroom to take a breather.
She sits back in a folding chair with her legs propped up on one of the shelves of inventory, studying the new doodle Duckie had left on her converse. It was a heart with their initials in the middle, a cartoony arrow speared through its sides. She had looked so smug as she finished drawing it with her sharpie, grinning at Robin who was blushing furiously under her ministrations. It had been the one piece of their relationship that Robin got to carry around with her all day, in public.Â
She sighs, her thoughts coming back to her total fit over that couple that came in. Her anger hadnât really been at them, and it hadnât really been anger either. It was more frustration, specifically that she knew she and Duckie couldnât really ever do anything like that, at least not in Hawkins. Robin would give both her kidneys, maybe even her liver, if it meant she could walk down the street holding her girlâs hand, landing a kiss on her cheek without even having to think about it. But that isnât the world they live in, and it drives Robin nuts.
Her frustration was compounded that night when she went out to dinner with Duckie, getting burgers and milkshakes at Bennyâs. Duckie always tended towards the bold, even in public, and was playing serious footsie with Robin, sliding her sneakered foot up her calf before wrapping her ankles around Robinâs legs. Their little bubble was rudely burst, however, when some guy shamelessly slid up to their booth, flashing a broad smile at Duckie. Robinâs ears were ringing, but not enough to block out this guyâs thick flirting with Duckie, who admittedly looked deeply perturbed by his advances.
Robin hadnât even been thinking, just acting on impulse and pointedly asked him if he minded. But of course, he didnât interpret that the way Robin wanted him to, instead telling her that he could set her up with his friend over at the bar. Duckie nearly choked on her milkshake when he said it. Robin just felt sick to her stomach. She was dating the coolest girl she had ever met, and nobody, except for a few friends, could know.Â
Since that night at Bennyâs, Robinâs frustration had only continued to fester, leaving her sullen and quieter than usual. Annoyingly, Steve had noticed it, and confronted her during another of their particularly slow shifts.
âAre things still going good with you and that girl?â Robin just shrugs.
âAs good as an eternally secret relationship can go.â That makes Steve frown.
âSânot a total secret. I know about it. Munson knows about it. Her sister knows about it. She told me she thinks youâre the cutest couple ever.â Robin scoffs.
âI forgot. Youâve fallen head over heels for a punk chick, so weird. Though she is pretty cool.â Steve just rolls his eyes at her.
âLetâs just keep the focus on your relationship, yeah? And besides, whatâs the big deal? You know she likes you and she knows you like her. Isnât that all that matters?â Robin crosses her arms over her chest.
âThatâs easy for you to say, Steve. You can take your girlfriend out whenever you want, and let everyone know that youâre together. Meanwhile, if we showed up at a fancy restaurant with a reservation for two weâd probably get driven out of Hawkins.â A tense silence settles between the pair, until Steve finally speaks.
âSo you wanna take her out to a fancy restaurant?â âSteve.â He holds his hands up in surrender.
âNo, no, Iâm just sayingâ I think I could help you out with that, you know?â She raises her eyebrows at him, shaking her head in confusion. She can see the gears turning in his head.
âListen, Saturday at seven, be at my house with your girl, ok?â She looks at him in exasperation.
âSteve, what are youââ he cuts her off with a wave of his arms.
âRobs, Iâm trying to do something nice for you here, alright? Justâ my house, seven oâclock. And dress nice, the both of you.â Robin just huffs, giving into Steveâs persistence.Â
âŠ
That had been Wednesday, and itâs now Saturday night. When Robin had told Duckie about Steveâs invitation she had looked a bit perplexed at first, but easily melted into a smile at the idea of getting to get dressed up for her. And so now, Robin finds herself on Duckieâs doorstep, waiting for her to come down. She had settled on a pair of black slacks and a short sleeved button down, still adorning her beloved converse though. That was about as dressed up as she could get. However, she thinks her heart stops for a beat when Duckie finally opens the door. Sheâs wearing a dark purple dress that stops at her shins, a perfect slip along her body with thin straps that lay rather delicately along her shoulders. Robin canât help but smile when she sees that sheâs also wearing her requisite converse. Duckie offers Robin a broad smile.
âHey, Robs, looking very good.â She brings her hand up to finger at the collar of her shirt. Robin stutters a bit, still so easily flustered by her girl.
âH-hi. You, um, wowâ you look so pretty.â Robinâs mentally kicking herself for her lack of finesse, but Duckie just grins impossibly wider, tilting her head to the side. She twirls the station wagonâs keys around her finger.
âWell, shall we venture to chez Harrington?â
âŠ
Robinâs stomach drops a bit when she sees Eddieâs van in the driveway of Steveâs mcmansion. What the hell is he doing here?
Itâs hard to keep worrying about it, however, with the way Duckieâs kept their hands entangled over the console the whole drive over. Sheâs a good driver, had promised sheâd teach Robin how to drive before the Summerâs over after all.
Once they park and ring the doorbell, Robin starts getting anxious again, having no idea what Steve had possibly conjured up for them. Just then, a shout can be heard through the door, as well as the clanging of what sounds like pots and pans.
âMunson, get the fucking door, goddamnit!â
âDonât get your panties twisted, big boy. I got it!â
The door swings open abruptly, and Robin chokes on her breath due to what she sees. Eddie Munson, shoved into a black button down and black dress pants that look too short (they must be Steveâs) dipping into a dramatic bow as he opens the door.
âMiladies, welcome to ristorante de Harrington, please do come in.â He affects a horrid italian accent that Duckie snorts at as they come inside, being quickly ushered into the dining room. The lights are dim, a hodgepodge of candles shoved into the center of the table really the only source of light next to the glow streaming in from the kitchen.Â
Eddie pulls out both their chairs for them, seating them across from each other at one end of the long table. Robin cranes in her chair, trying to peer into the kitchen, only catching a glance of Steve frantically stirring pots on the stove before Eddie waves her attention back to him.
âMay I interest the ladies in something to drink, perhaps?â Heâs still doing that damn accent, completely mortifying Robin. Duckie however seems to be loving it, playing along without missing a beat.
âWell, what do you have to offer?â Eddie grins, shuffling over to the corner of the room and squatting to grab something from behind a very large houseplant. Itâs a bottle of very expensive looking wine. He brandishes it like fucking Vanna White.
âOnly the finest for the lovely couple. Tis a musky brew from the old country. A very good year if I may say so myself.â He fiddles in his pocket, producing a bottle opener and quickly popping the cork. As he pours it into their respective glasses, he stage-whispers to them both.
âDonât tell Steve I went looking in mommy Harringtonâs cellar. The old broad wonât know a thing.â Duckie bubbles with laughter at Eddieâs antics, while Robin is still stunned by the whole production. Eddie sets the bottle between them before standing with his hands behind his back.
âChef Steve is preparing his specialitĂ©, spaghetti and meatballs. I shall be right back with some garlic bread to titillate your palette before your main course.â He swoops away into the kitchen and they can hear Steve muttering to him.
âWhat was that sound? Did you get in my momâs wine collection? Munson, I swearââ âDonât worry about it, Stevie. I didnât go near Dianeâs stash.âÂ
Robin and Duckie share a look before dissolving into exasperated giggles. Duckie rests her elbow on the table, propping up her chin with her hand. She reaches across the table with her other hand to entangle Robinâs fingers with hers.
âThis is certainly something else, Robs. Canât say Iâve ever experienced such fine dining on a date.â Robin lightly laughs, giving her girlâs hand a squeeze.
âEddie can kinda be, alot. He means well though, I swear. Steve too. They just knew I wanted to, uh, do something nice with you, so, yeah.â Robin feels like sheâs going to melt under Duckieâs gaze.
âIt is really nice, Robin. I know we have to do things a bit different. But I wouldnât wanna do different with anyone else.â They share a very dopey smile thatâs promptly interrupted by Eddie blustering back into the room with a basket of breadsticks. Robin recognizes them when he sets them down. Theyâre the frozen kind he likes to get to eat when heâs high. She canât help the knowing look she shoots his way and he just grins right back.
âŠ
Steveâs taking a while to prepare his âspecialitĂ©â but they donât mind, sharing breadsticks and sips of wine and very sweet conversation. Robin canât help feeling like itâs a dream. Sure, the service is a little questionable, but sheâs actually on a bona fide date with her girl, and itâs lovelier than she could have imagined.
Finally, Steve and Eddie come out of the kitchen, both carrying rather heaped plates of spaghetti. Robin makes a mental note to give Steve hell about the little apron he has around his waist. They set the plates down in front of them and Eddie does another dramatic bow.
âMadames, dinner is served.â Duckie grins.
âCompliments to the chef, of course.â Steve lets out a light laugh at that, shaking his head. Eddieâs performance, however, is not quite done.
âShall I serenade you whilst you dine?â He takes a deep breath in, getting ready to belt something out, but Steve rather harshly swats him on the back, causing him to deflate on impact. He grabs Eddieâs shoulders, steering him back into the kitchen with a muttered âwhy donât you help me clean up, you menace.â
The food is actually good. Robin had no clue Steve could cook, having to admit that sheâs pleasantly surprised at this effort. By the time they finish their meal, theyâre both in a cheesy, carby haze of goodness. Duckie lets out a long sigh, smiling lightly at Robin.
âThis was the best, Robs. Thank you for taking me out.â Robin grins, toeing at Duckieâs foot with her own.
âThank you for coming out with me.â She catches Steve and Eddie peeking around the edge of the doorway and she clears her throat.
âWe should probably get going, I think the staff are getting ready to close.â Eddie and Steve sheepishly step back into the room. Eddie flashes them a bright grin.
âThank you ladies for dining with us tonight. Will that be cash or credit?â Steve elbows Eddie in the ribs, offering them an apologetic smile.
âCome back anytime.â As theyâre leaving, Robin mouths a âthank youâ at Steve to which he just shakes his head, just the hint of a smile.Â
âŠ
They drive back to Duckieâs house, Robinâs bike still tipped over in the front yard. Robin walks her up to her front door and Duckie sighs.
âWell, Iâd invite you up, but for once my parents are actually home tonight.â Robin just smiles, shaking her head.
âThatâs ok. This night was already kinda perfect.â They lean into each other, pressing their foreheads together and smiling.
âIt was, wasnât it?â Duckie presses a sweet kiss to Robinâs lips before dipping back for another and another and another until finally Robin has to pull away.Â
âGoodnight, Robs. Thank you for a perfect night.â Robin just smiles, stealing one more kiss from her before she slips inside.
Robin bikes home that night, thinking about how she owes Steve, and his crazy sidekick, big time for helping her have the best date ever.

5, 9, 14 for the artist ask game?
hiyaaa!
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
oh boy. I probably post online, about 10-20% of all the art I make? I do "art" professionally too so a large chunk of stuff I draw isn't illustration - it's assets, backgrounds, comic panels etc. Which are either NDA or just a bizarre thing to post (wanna see like 50 pictures of photobashed rocks? and 4/5 of being just recolours/different angles of the same rock? lol). Out of all the "postable" art I make, I'd say I upload around 50% of it - there's a lot of commissions and sketches/wips I could TECHNICALLY post but just can't think of a stupid enough caption to go with it, or I don't want the pressure to finish wips I want to abandon, or the art doesn't serve my higher secret agenda of personal curation haha, but i do like to share!
9. What are your file name conventions
Personal: Tend to name things as simple single word file names, which means I run out pretty fast. I have "fish" and "fishly" and "fishhhhhh" at this point. When the word's been taken already my hack is just hold a letter down on the keyboard for a couple seconds then call it a day. Or, passionate keyboard smashing. BUT IN MY DEFENSE I do format version controls decently - I append "sm", "crop", "big", "alt", and numbers to stuff that needs to be exported to multiple files.
I don't know why this one was called jellicles it's a transistor doodle. I think I just watched CATS maybe
Professional: I'm a good worker I name and do version control well!! rest assured my naming conventions are CLEAR AS DAY where others are concerned
14. Any favorite motifs
Yeah! I love to shill my interests in any form, be it just talking about it to people or incorporating them into designs. I like reading about fish and aquatic life, as well as culture from historical Asia - this includes ceramics history, tea, forms of entertainment, myths, fashion... just evolution of anything be it human culture or living things, it's cool to learn about how things have changed. One thing I like in terms of faces is red eye shadow. It instantly makes anyone look cool + now that xiao and genshin impact are popular, I see more and more artists opt for adding very traditional-chinese makeup to their OC designs and it makes my heart SING

Find my Way Back to You - The Umbrella Academy [Part 2]
The Hargreeves never expected the teen declaring the end of the world to become someone close. But leave it up to Ryn, who can see the future, to find their way into the weird dynamic of the Hargreeves siblings. Though there are many things that don't seem right about them. Some could be chalked up to her powers, others, no one would ever believe on someone's word alone. And she knew that.
Five x OC
------------
Notes: The weird predicament of Five's physical age vs. mental age will be addressed. Can't explain, cause it's a large part of the story (and spoilers). IT IS NOT PEDOPHILIA! not to mention both Ryn and five are asexuals (sex-repulsed and never got to figure it out respectively) so there will be no devil's tango.
I will be referring to Viktor as Vanya and with she/her pronouns for what is season 1 and season 2. I do not want to take away that part of the character, and want the transition to be included. I believe removing that and referring to him as Viktor from the start is ignoring the struggle he went through. (Nothing against people who use Viktor and he/him pronouns in fanfics that would be during s1/s2. This is just my own opinion)

Master List
Five stormed out of the donut shop. He needed to find that kid. They had been right. She tried warning him about the commission, as well as pointing out his tracker. He was holding onto the doubt of her just being someone playing a prank. But it was now clear they were the real deal.
Five would search the entire city for them if he needed to. However when they had said "I'll be around" they were not lying. Five found them digging in the dumpster next to the Hargreeves house.
"I wouldn't have pegged you for a dumpster diver," Five commented.
Out popped a platinum head of hair. "I was looking for something important, but I think I'm too late," they groaned.
"You weren't joking?" Five asked, not caring it it was to a butt of a person climbing out of a dumpster.
"Nope," she said, popping the p. "Can really she the future. And past. And present. But like the future is the fun part.... most of the time."
Five gave them a once over. They clearly didn't look the age, but neither did he. "When we're you born?" he asked. She could be another one of the 43 kids he and his siblings where from.
"September 11th," she answered, slipping her box of a bag over her shoulder. It was a brown faded leather, covered in stickers and painted doodles. They pulled out a handful of metal, jewelry.
"You really are just an anomaly." Five commented, mildly confused about their existence.
Ryn clicked their tongue. "Not by choice... Now is there a reason you found me, or just trying to mildly harass me." They slipped on a bundle of bracelets to both wrist. There were plastic bands, cheap beads, crystal beads, as well as metals and jewels.
"How dose the world end?" Five asked.
Ryn seemed prepared for that question. "V is for very, very extra ordinary." She was slipping on ring, one on about every finger. Again, a variety of quality, one was plastic, while the nicest one was of gold and opal.
So that part wasn't a joke either. "Who is involved with the end of the world?" he continued on.
"No body mention my familia," Ryn said, once again prepared. They had clipped a velvet choker on, and was working on getting in an earing. It looked like a sword piercing through her earlobe.
"Spanish?" Five question.
Ryn shrugged. "It's from a movie soundtrack." She finally finished of the pile of jewelry, by tucking a locking chain under their shirt.
"My family, or your family?" Five asked for clarification.
"Wasn't me," Ryn was quick to answer. Clearly still using song lyrics. She was now messing with the rings, making sure they felt right on her fingers.
Five groaned. "Even a simple question like that?"
Ryn laughed, "No, that one just easily came to mind. It's your family." They picked up the flannel shirt of the ground and tied it around their waist.
"Who is the owner of the eye?" Five asked, wanting to stump her. He didn't want her to expect every question he was going to ask. Not to mention not even appearing to care about the questions being asked.
"Can't you see all I really want to be is your boyfriend," Ryn said, showing slight signs of embarrassment. "Then like the entire song of Bohemian Rhapsody fits pretty well." They stuck their hand into their pockets and swayed on their feet.
"Bohemian Rhapsody?" Five wondered.
Ryn let out a dramatic gasp. "You don't know Bohemian Rhapsody? The best song in all of existence?"
"There wasn't really music after the apocalypse," Five explained.
"Than my goal is before the end of the world to at least introduce you to Queen," Ryn declared. "And ya know, stop the end of the world"
"Alright one last question right now," Five sighed. Whole he had plenty of questions, as none of her answers made sense. " Do you have any obligations for the next 8 days?"
"Just make sure my brother knows I'm not dead," Ryn shrugged, "Or doing anything illegal. Which I feel will be the harder one."
Five nodded. "Alright," he then started walking back to the car he had just got out of. "I think the only person we should trust right now is Vanya?"
"Why only V?" Ryn asked as she was quick to follow Five.
He grabbed the door to the driver's side door, turning back to look at Ryn. He wanted to make sure he heard them right. "Vanya?"
"V," Ryn repeated in a serious tone.
Five just sighed. Easy to tell Ryn wasn't one to argue with. "Get in," he told her, opening the driver side door for himself.
Ryn climbed into the passenger side, and quick to buckle herself in as Five was already pulling off. "We could just walk," Ryn pointed out.
"It late, and I want to get their quickly," Five explained.
Ryn reached into her bag pulling something out. Five was to focused on the road to see though it didn't sound like a weapon. "Couldn't you just jump through space to get there?" she questioned, though it seemed only half her attention was on the conversation now.
"But you can't," he pointed out.
Ryn hummed, and gave an audible shrug. "The is correct, however, out of the two of us, I'm the one who has a valid driver's license." Five could hear the sound of pen on paper. They were writing something.
"There isn't a DMV in the apocalypse," Five said sarcastically.
"I know," Ryn said simply, "Just telling you not to get pulled over."
Five scoffed, "I could loose any cop."
Ryn sighed. "Don't commit a crime, when you're committing a crime." There was the loud sound of paper ripping. "There are quite a few serial killers who got caught by routine traffic stops." She sat the piece of paper down between the two of them, closer to Five.
Five glanced momentarily at the paper, trying to see what was written on it. "What's that?" he asked, not able to make anything out without stopping the car.
"Wrote down the answers to your questions, just so you have them down," Ryn explained. "For reference."
Ryn then leaned back into her seat. "So what, you're like 60, in a thirteen year old body," they pointed out. "That's got to be weird. Like is your brain still that of a 60 year old, or that of a thirteen year old?"
"What dose it matter?" Five groaned.
"Curiosity killed the cat," Ryn said as an explanation. "And like the human brain is so weird. And that not including time travel and age manipulation. Like human brains don't fully develop until the age 25. But then in 30's or 40's it starts to loose mass. Like you really only have what, five years of peak brain function. Seems like a waste."
"Are you ever quiet?" he groaned, not wanting to talk.
Ryn clicked their tongue. "If I want to be."
"Please shut up," Five plead.
Ryn forced a wide smile onto her face. "Only because you asked nicely."
---------------
Corine came walking in with a bottle of wine and a pack of beer. While plenty of alcohol had been found through the years, Corine had been admitted that they don't drink it. They sat down on their bed, a mattress they dug out of the rubble and fixed with clothing that couldn't be worn by either of them.
"What are you doing?" he asked them, setting down the book he was reading.
"What dose it look like?" they scoffed, trying to pull the cork out with their hands. "I'm gonna drink."
He gave them a questioning look. "You are the one who says we shouldn't," he pointed out.
"Well I'm 21 today, and by the law of what once was the government of the land we live upon, I can now get intoxicated as a please," they pointed out. They had given up on using their hands and pulled out their knife to get the cork out. It did not come out in one piece, but they could now drink the wine.
He didn't know how to take that. It was their birthday. He knew their favorite color, which sources of water they prefer, even the songs they like to sing, what their favorite part of a combustible engine is. Yet he didn't know their birthday. He didn't even know they were still keeping track to be able to know what day it is.
They took a swig of the wine, physically cringing and gagging at the taste. Yet they didn't hesitate to take another drink. "It's been five years," they mumbled to themselves.
It clearly wasn't the anniversary of the end of the world. That was in late winter, early spring, whole it was turning from summer to fall. They were talking about something else. "Care to share what your lamenting about?" he asked.
"Woo!", they let out a half hearted cheer. To try and bring something to the monotony of the apocalypse, they chose a word from a dictionary, and tried to use it plenty throughout the day. That day it had been 'lament'.
They fell back into the mattress, not caring about the spilt wine. "It's really weird dude," they said.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Try me." He told them plenty about their life which was anything but normal.
"Could never tell you what happened the day I turned the day I turned seventeen," they sang out. They'd commonly sing lyrics instead of answering questions, or holding conversations.
"Hey, who else are you going to tell?" he asked, throwing a rock at their foot.
"It was my seventeenth birthday. The one between the sweet sixteen and turning an adult. I didn't expect much, I never did. Did not have the track record of good birthdays, starting with the day of my birth. I just wanted a nice dinner and to eat some cake.
My brother came back in to town for the week, as well as my sister drove in from college the day of. I couldn't tell them I didn't want them there. My parents wouldn't have believed me if I told them I hated my siblings. Throw those two in with my already terrible mental health, and I just wanted to be done.
I took a handful of so many medications, and just layed down in the bathtub. I woke up a couple minuets later in my bed. I went into the bathroom, and there in the bathtub was my own body." They took a long drink of the wine. " Luckily there was some wetland behind the house, so I didn't need to transport the body far. But burying your own body, it's... traumatizing.
And it's not like I could tell anyone, they wouldn't believe me."
He got up and went over to sit next to them. There were so many more things to be worried about than how the bottle of wine was now empty. "You wanted to kill yourself?" he asked in disbelief. They were the one trying the hardest to survive since they met.
"Yup, but I couldn't," they declared, throwing away the bottle. "Instead I worked to graduate high school early, saved every penny I earned, and sold of what I could. I ran away, I killed the parts of me I could. I was going to start new. But a week later, the world ended."
With a groan they sat up, pulling the back of beer to them. They pulled open the cardboard an pulled out a can. "Help yourself," they offered, cracking open the can. "Cracking open a cold one with the boys."
"You're really just gonna move past all that?" he questioned.
They nodded. "Yup, nothing but facts from the past. Just keep moving forward."

Burning Love - Part Three
a/n: the third and final part of this little series is here! I hope you enjoy! Feedback and reblogs are helpful! Support me here if youâre able! (not proofread)
Warnings: cocky!Harry flirting, a tiny bit of angst, fluff, and smut!
Words: 8K
Pairing: Harry x OC (kindergarten teacher Danielle Robinson)
Masterpost
Having a firefighter as a boyfriend was anything but boring. Sometimes Harry was called away in the middle of the night for backup, sometimes he had to straight up sleep at the fire house if someone was on vacation, and sometimes he was cooking up a storm so the guys coming back from a fire had plenty to eat. Danielle would sometimes help cook as well. The guys really liked her turkey chili.
Danielleâs classroom knew who her boyfriend was too, and they loved it when Harry would come by for a visit. Heâd bring them little coloring books, or sometimes heâd get Doodle to come for an even better surprise visit.
When they were together three months, Harry made sure no one was in the fire house so she could come to his office, and he gave her a little strip tease. She had practically been begging him to play the part of the sexy fire fighter and he was finally doing it for her. The only condition was that he got to bend her over his desk and fuck her. She even let him hit it raw, it was the greatest mutual gift in the world. Also hearing her moan out, âYouâre hitting it so good, donât stop, Harry!â over and over was pretty nice too.
Yup, things had been going pretty well for the new couple. Even though they were still in the puppy-love phase, it wasnât all sex all the time. Harry would sometimes come over and help her late into the night as she was crafting activities for her class the next day, or heâd go to the art supply store with her because Danielle never made a list and she would often forget at least one thing she needed for class. Harry always remembered what sheâd forget. Danielle was also a big help with the fire departmentâs fundraising efforts. She made the best hash browns anyone had ever had at the monthly pancake breakfasts. The deputy fire chief even got them a matching set of aprons. Things were going so well that she even started to let him call her Dani.
One Sunday afternoon they were walking through the grocery store together. Harry liked pushing the cart for Danielle as she mumbled to herself about what she needed for the week. She liked that he joined her because he could pick out the snacks he wanted to leave at her place, and vice versa. They were walking down the coffee aisle, Harry liked Hazelnut and Danielle liked French Vanilla.
âDani?â
Danielle looks over in the direction of the deep voice that said her name. Her eyes widen when she realizes itâs her ex, Oliver.
âO-Oliver?â
âOh my god, itâs so good to see you!â He exclaims, throwing his arms around her. She doesnât reciprocate. âItâs been what, three years?â
âSomething like that.â She swallows, and hooks her arm around Harryâs waist. âThis is my boyfriend, Harry.â
âHi.â Oliver shakes Harryâs hand. âYou shop here a lot?â
âYeahâŠthis is the grocery store closest to my apartment, why?â
âThis is my first time as this specific store. My fiancĂ© lives in the area, and weâre choosing to buy a house here so her son wonât have to switch elementary schools.â
âHerâŠher son?â Danielle wanted to smack him.
âYeah, guess heâs like my son now too.â
âOlly? Did you find the decaf tea?â A woman long blond hair, and a slightly swollen belly comes rolling her cart down the aisle with a little boy sitting in it. âOhâŠDanielleâŠhi.â
âHi, Rory.â
âMiss Robinson!â The boy exclaims.
âHello, Joey.â She tries to say with a smile. Danielle wasnât sure how she could have been so stupid. Joey took the bus to and from school, and she had only ever spoken with his father. She also didnât make a second glance at his motherâs name on his contact list since it was under Lorelei.
âJoey raves about you all the time.â Rory says, trying to cut some of the tension.
âMumma, itâs Chief Harry!â
âAw, nice of you to remember me, buddy.â Harry says. âUm, weâve got frozen stuff in the cart, so we should probably get going, right, darling?â He says, looking at Danielle, and she feels thankful for him finding a way out of all this.
âHeâs right, we should really get going.â
âGuess weâll be seeing more of each other, huh, Dani?â Oliver says with a soft smile.
âSo it would seem.â She looks at Joey. âSee you tomorrow morning in class, Joey.â
Harry pushes the cart as they walk away. She was beyond mortified. They get in line and pay for their things. She had driven there, but she has Harry drive back to her place. She was quiet until they got inside her apartment to put the food away.
âHe, uh, seemed a little delusional there, no?â Harry says.
âHeâs always lived with his head in the sand.â She scoffs. âRose colored glasses, you know?â
âDid you not know that-â
âNo, I didnât realize that Rory, the person he cheated on me with, had a son. I knew that she was a married woman. They got divorced because of Oliver.â She shakes her head. âJoeyâs father is such a sweet man, I canât believe I never put the pieces together.â
âHow exactly did they meet?â
âThe first school I worked at was a K-5 a few towns over. Rory was the principalâs secretary, she still is, I think. I brought Oliver with me to a holiday party, and they got to talking. Sheâs a couple of years older than he and I are. I donât exactly know how things progressed from there, but apparently sheâs pregnant with his kid, theyâre engaged, and theyâve bought a house! Isnât that just kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck fantastic?â
âRemind me to never watch Friends reruns with you again.â He chuckles. Â âI canât believe he had the nerve to hug you like that?â
âHe hugged me like that because heâs still in love with me.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âUntil I blocked him on literally every platform that I could, he would send me these messages about how he fucked up and that heâd do anything to win me back. Heâs in a loveless relationship. Heâs made his bed and now he has to lay in it.â
âDoes Rory know itâs a loveless relationship?â
âI doubt it. If I had to guess they probably got engaged after they found out she was pregnant. It was probably her way of trapping him.â Danielle rolls her eyes. âYou know what they say, once a cheater, always a cheater.â
âWell,â he comes around her to hold her from behind, kissing her cheek, âyou donât have to worry about that or pay it any more thoughts, alright?â
âYeah.â She smiles and turns to kiss him. âI just hope I donât start running into them all the time now.â
âWe could always go to the market near my place, or we could do the online order thing.â He shrugs. âWhatever you wanna do. I just donât want that idiot making my baby upset.â He pouts at her and she pouts back.
âI love that I get to be your baby.â She sighs as she nuzzles into his chest.
âMe tooâŠIâŠI love you, Dani.â He kisses her forehead before she looks up at him.
âYou do?â
âMhm.â He smiles. âGuess thereâs no perfect time to really say it, but thatâs how I feel.â
âOh, Harry, I love you too.â She kisses him, and blinks some tears away. âLike, a lot.â
âLetâs get these groceries put away, hm? Then Iâll fuck you on the counter. Would you like that, sweetheart?â
âI would, very much so.â She chuckles.
//
It was the last day of school, so Danielle had both of her groups in the morning. There was a small ceremony for the kindergarteners to commemorate them being able to move on to the first grade. They each got a personalized certificate with some type of achievement they earned in Miss Robinsonâs class. She spent two weeks working on them. Once it was over, Danielle had to clean up her classroom for the summer.
âHappy last day of school, babe.â Harry says as he walks in, holding a small bouquet of flowers.
âI think you should ask for a separate office here with how often you come to visit.â She jokes as she takes the flowers. âNot that Iâm upset, but what are these for?â She smiles.
âYou made it through another year with a group of five-year-olds, thought you should have something nice for it.â
âWell, thatâs very thoughtful, thank you.â She kisses his cheek. âIâm just finishing up here and then we can grab lunch.â
Harry nods as he waits for her, helping her take a few boxes out to her car. He thought she looked gorgeous today in her light blue sundress. They enjoy their lunch together before Harry has to go back to work.
âWanna come to my place tonight?â She asks before they part ways.
âSure.â He pecks her lips. âWant me to bring dinner?â
âNo, I can cook. Iâve got stuff to make a taco salad.â
âOkay, Iâll see you later.â They kiss again and off they go.
Things had gotten quite domestic with one another, and Harry was really starting to like it. He also really liked that she was about to be off for the entire summer. Sure, Harry had bonfires, lawn mowers, grills, and other things of that nature to worry about, but his group of volunteer fire fighters would be coming on once again, so it freed up a little more time for himself. Heâd be able to take a vacation with Danielle if she wanted. Or he could just take a ton of long weekends so he could spend some time with her. He wasnât exactly sure what she did over the summer, but he figures theyâll talk about it soon.
When Harry gets to her apartment later that night, he realizes soon means tonight. Danielle was running around her apartment in a tank top and shorts boxing things up and packing.
âHey, uh, what are you doing?â He says, startling her.
âOh! I didnât even hear you come in!â She gasps and clutches at her chest. âSorry, Iâm just trying to get my shit together. I always save this stuff for the last minute.â
âAre you moving?â He asks, almost frantic.
âWhat? No.â She chuckles. âBut I do need a lot of my things with me for when I go up to Seabrook.â
âSeabrook?â
âTo my parentsâ summer house. I told you they had one, theyâre snowbirds, remember?â
âYeah, you mentioned thatâŠâ He swallows. âAre you going for a long weekend?â
âNo, Iâm going for the majority of the summer. I was actually sort of hoping youâd be able to water some of my plants, but if you canât I can ask the neighbor again.â She goes over to him and gives him a kiss. âCome on, I set dinner up in the kitchen for us.â
They both go into the kitchen and sit down with their taco salads.
âYouâre sort of blindsiding me a bit, babe. I mean, youâve known you were going to New Hampshire all this time and didnât think to tell me?â
âI figured Iâd come back on weekends.â She shrugs. âYouâre going to be working all day, so I figured you wouldnât really mind if I wasnât around as much.â She takes a bite of her food. âI also thought maybe you could come up and visitâŠyou know, meet my family.â
âItâs gonna be torturing not being able to come over and see you after work.â He pouts. âBut of course Iâd love to meet your family.â
âI knowâŠthatâs sort of why I was keeping it to myself. Iâll miss you just the same, I hope you know that. This is just really precious family time that I wait all year for.â
âI get it.â He sighs. âWhat weekend would you want me to come meet them?â
âIâll have to ask my parents what weekend would work best for them. The first couple of weeks are spent catching up with their friends, and whatnot. The house is in a fifty-five and over community.â
âAnd you wonât mind driving back on weekends?â
âNot at all.â She shakes her head. âAll of the traffic will be going the other way, and the beaches are always so crowded on the weekends. Itâll be perfect.â She smiles at him and leans in a bit. âPlus, Iâll be coming back to you with sun kissed skin. Iâll have lots of tan lines to show you.â She winks and it makes him chuckle.
âAlright, alright. I get to use more time off in the summer, so Iâll be able to take lots of long weekends. We have more of a crew because a lot of our volunteers are teachers, so they have more time to help out.â
âThatâs good! Iâm so happy the school year is over with. Did you see I put the flowers you got me in a vase?â She points over to the vase in her kitchen window.
âI did.â He nods, a smile growing on his lips. âMâglad you liked them.â
âI loved them.â She kisses his cheek. âYouâre so sweet to me, Harry.â
âYouâve turned me into a total mush ball.â He sighs. âBut I suppose thatâs not a bad thing.â
âYou were a mush ball the second you walked into my classroom for the first time.â She smirks.
âAnd you were a flustered little thing.â He smirks as her face falls. âAh, she can dish it out, but she canât take it.â He kisses her temple and takes their now empty plates to the sink. âWhen are you heading up?â
âA couple of days.â She sighs. âI hate packing so much, itâs the worst.â She groans. âI just keep telling myself Iâll be relaxing on a screened in porch soaking in the ocean breeze with a book in my hand before I know it.â She flops down onto her sofa and Harry sits next to her, rubbing her back. âAt least Iâll see my niece and nephew soon too. I love getting to spend so much time with them.â
âTell me about them, I wanna know as much about your family as I can before I meet them.â
âReally?â She sits up to look at them.
âMhm.â He puts a pillow on his lap. âCome lay one me. Iâll play with your hair while you talk.â
âIf I didnât love you before.â She giggles, and rests her head in his lap. He starts scratching at her scalp and she sighs. âOkay, so, my dadâŠâ
They both fell asleep on the couch that night talking. Harry told Danielle a lot about his family as well. In the wee hours of the morning, Harry carried her to the bed, and they both snuggled up while they got a few more hours of sleep.
//
âDanielle, itâs the middle of the night! Where are you going?!â Her brother Clark asks her in a panic. âShit, are you crying?â
âIâŠI just got a call.â She sniffles as she throws her hoody on. âI have to get home.â
âWhy, whatâs happening.â
âH-Harryâs deputy chief called meâŠthere was a really big fire a few hours ago, and a wall collapsed on him, and now heâs in the hospital.â Tears were streaming down her cheeks. âI have to get home to him, Clark, I need to be there when he wakes up.â
âYouâre in no condition to drive, especially not for two hours. Iâll go with you. Let me just go to Isabelle.â
âYou donât have to do that, Iâm fine.â She wipes her eyes. âIâll let you know when I get there. Iâll be back in a few days, Iâm sure of it.â
She rushes out of the house and gets into the car. She had the radio practically silent, and she was sucking down an iced coffee. Caffeine put her anxiety into hyper drive, but she needed to stay awake somehow. Harry wasnât even supposed to be at that fire. He got called in as backup, but he wasnât supposed to go inside. He went in looking for the familyâs new puppy.
Once she gets to the hospital, probably looking like a mad woman in her pajama pants and oversized hoody, she checks in and asks where Harryâs being kept.
âPlease, Iâm his girlfriend, I need to-â
âDani!â The deputy chief, Ralph, comes rushing towards her. âHe just woke up, come with me.â He yanks her by the wrist before the nurse at the desk can say anything.
âIs he okay?â
âHe will be.â Ralph nods. âHere we are, go ahead in. Take your time with him.â Ralph smiles, and Danielle returns it.
âHarry?â She says just above a whisper.
âHey, baby.â He gives her a soft smile. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI hopped in my car a second after Ralph called me. I was so worried.â She sits on the edge of his hospital bed.
âIâm okay, sweetheart, just a few scrapes and bruises.â
âHarryâŠyour armâs in a sling.â
âJust a sprained wrist, itâll heal up real soon.â
âHow can you be so calm about this?â She asks as she curls up next to him. He throws his arm around her and sighs.
âBecause if I let every little accident scare me, I wouldnât be able to do my job properly. This is what I signed up for, babe.â
âDid you at least find the puppy?â
âI did, shielded the poor thing from the wall that collapsed on me. Mâgonna have to go on light duty for a while.â
âWhich means what exactly?â
âLots of administrative workâŠthat I can do remotely. So, I was thinkingâŠmaybe I could come up to Seabrook with you for a little longer than a weekend.â
âIâd love that! We can drive back up together. Everyoneâs excited to meet you.â
âIâm excited to meet them too.â
//
After Harry rested up for a few days at home, with Danielle doting on him even though he told her she didnât need to, the two drive up north together.
âAuntie Daniâs back!â Sarah exclaims as she bursts out of the porch.
âSarah!â Isabelle yells after her. âWe donât run out of the house, no matter how excited we are to see Auntie.â She picks her daughter up. âSorry, Dani.â Isabelle chuckles.
âNo worries.â Danielle laughs. âThis is my boyfriend, Harry. Harry, this is my sister-in-law Isabelle.â
âHi.â Harry says, and Isabelle gasps when she sees his arm in a sling. âJust a sprained wrist, mâfine.â âItâs nice to meet you. This must be Sarah, yeah?â
âHello.â The little girl smiles.
âCome on, everyoneâs inside getting ready to head down to the beach.â Isabelle says.
Harry and Danielle follow inside. She takes him into the kitchen where her parents, Robert and Donna were finishing up their coffee.
âDani!â Donna smiles. âHow was the ride back up?â
âFine, not a lot of traffic once we were out of the city.â She smiles. âThis is Harry.â
âThe hero that saved the puppy!â Robert says.
âIâm no hero, just did my job. Itâs nice to meet you both. Thank you for inviting me to your home.â He shakes both of their hands.
âAre you kidding? We were over the moon when Dani said sheâd be bringing a boyfriend with her.â Donna says. âHoney, why donât you help Harry get settled and then meet us down at the beach?â
âOkay.â Danielle nods.
The two bring their things inside while everyone else makes their way to the beach. Danielle helps Harry put his clothes away in the dresser.
âSoâŠare we alone right now?â Harry asks casually after putting his things away in the bathroom.
âUm, yeah. Everyone went down to set up at the beach, why?â
âWellâŠâ He sits down on the bed and tugs her to sit on his lap, straddling her. âI havenât been able to do much the last few days, and Iâd like to make up for it.â
âHarry.â Her face flushes. âI canât just fuck you here.â
âIn the privacy of a bedroom? Here I was thinking this would be the perfect place.â He rolls his eyes.
âI justâŠâ She bites her bottom lip. Before she can say anything when she opens her mouth again, heâs kissing her. âFuck, okay, but we have to be quick. And no leaving marks, I donât need to feel like a teenager at the age of twenty-seven.â
âHow about no marks in any visible places?â
âHarry, Iâm gonna be wearing a two piece, a lot is going to be visible.â
âYour ass?â
She whimpers softly and kisses him again. They both fall back on the bed, careful not to hurt his wrist. Danielle ended up riding his dick since he couldnât really prop himself up with hands at the moment, but neither of them minded. It was a much-needed release for the both of them. Once theyâre both cleaned up, they change into their bathing suits and go down to the beach to join her family.
âAuntie Dani, do you wanna dig a moat with me?ïżœïżœ Ryan asks her the second she sets her things down.
âSure! Just let me get some sunscreen on, okay?â
âYouâre already looking a little red.â Clark remarks, and she glares at him. âNice to meet you, Harry.â
âSame to you.â Harry says as he sits down in his beach chair.
Danielle peels her coverup off, and lathers up in sunscreen before grabbing a sand toy to help Ryan dig a moat. Isabelle was down by the water with Sarah.
âHarry, do you like seafood?â Donna asks him.
âI do.â He nods.
âWonderful, I thought it would be nice to go out to eat since youâre here with us now. Celebrate having a full house and whatnot.â
âOh, wellâŠthat sounds nice, thanks.â Harry smiles at her.
âI hope you wonât be too miserable working from inside the houseâŠthereâs no central air or anything.â Robert says.
âOh, itâs not a problem. Heat doesnât exactly bother me.â He smirks, and Danielle flicks some sand at him. âOi, what was that for?!â
âNo fire fighter jokes or puns.â She points a finger at him warningly. âWeâre on vacation.â
âCome on, that was a good one, admit it.â
âI will do no such thing.â She looks at her parents who were chuckling at the exchange. âDonât encourage him, itâll only make it worse.â
âAnyways,â he side eyes her and then looks back at her parents, âIâll probably just set up on the porch when I need to hop onto email. My deputy chief is taking on a bit more for me for the next couple of weeks.â
Harry never really saw himself being a dad someday, but as the day went on, and he watched Danielle interact with Sarah and Ryan, he suddenly understood why women would get baby fever seeing a man hold a baby. He may have only been with Danielle for five months, but fuckâŠhe wanted to be the father of her kids. Yes, he got to spend an entire week with her and her classroom, but itâs not like he got to witness her loving on any of the kids. The way she cradled four-year-old Sarah to her chest as she napped, or splashed around in the water with Ryan, well, if he had ovaries theyâd be bursting.
Seeing her help them at dinner was just as cute too. Sarah insisted that her booster chair be places next to Danielle, and Danielle ended up helping cut up Sarahâs chicken fingers. Then Harry got to witness Danielle tucking Sarah and Ryan in for the night to give Clark and Isabelle a break.
The two decide to turn in a bit early since it had been a long day. Danielle was sitting up in bed reading her romance novel. Harry was reading the same one. They had formed a little book club with another once they found out they liked the same genre of fiction.
âDani?â He says to her.
âHm?â She says without looking at him.
âDo you think you wanna have kids of your own one day? Or are your kindergartners enough kids for you?â
She immediately closes her book and looks at him. She was a little shocked.
âIâŠI always thought if I met the right person then Iâd want to have kids. Like, turning that love into something physical, you know? Whatâs got you asking me about kids all of a sudden?â
âIn all honestyâŠwatching you with Ryan and Sarah today sort of sparked my interest. Youâre so good with them in so many different ways. IâŠI mean I never really thought twice about having kids, but if you and I decide this is a long term thingâŠIâd love to be the person you have kids with.â
âThought you didnât like playing the what if game.â She leans in and pecks his lips.
âI donât.â
âOkay, so, itâs not an if with us, Harry, itâs a when.â
He smiles and kisses her tenderly.
âYouâre the love of my life, you know that?â He says against her lips before kissing her again.
//
The school year was just about to start again. Classes would begin just after Labor Day. How were Harry and Danielle spending their long weekend? Well, she was currently bouncing up and down on his dick reverse-cowgirl on her couch while he sucked a nasty bruise into her neck, rubbing her clit with one hand, and kneading one of her breasts with the other. She felt like she was drooling from how good everything felt. The two of them had both tanned nicely over the summer, and now they Danielle was fully back in her apartment, Harry was taking full advantage.
âFuck, fuck!â She pants. Harry was thrusting up into her, pounding against her g-spot.
It was how she liked it, she didnât care if she was sore later, and he was happy to give it to her like this. She turns her head slightly and she licks into his mouth to suck on his tongue. He replaces his tongue in her mouth with two of his fingers, which she was happy to suck on while his fingers continued to work her clit. They had been together for a while now, and sometimes when you were a little older, time didnât make much of a difference when you were trying to check off certain boxes with the person you loved most. So, Harry just blurts out what heâs thinking.
âI think we should move in together.â He grunts, and she gasps around his fingers.
âWh-what?â She says, whining because sheâs so very close. This wasnât the type of talk she enjoyed during sex. âHarry, please, Iâm almost there, can we talk about this after?â She tugs at his hair, making him groan.
He grips her hips, helping her rock faster on him, and she goes to rub her own clit. He was fucking so hard and deep that she thought her spine was going to crack in half, but she didnât fucking care. She wanted it. He hits it just right again, and her eyes roll into the back of her head as her back arches, her body molding into his as she rides it out. His come shoots up inside her a moment after, and he presses his lips to her temple. She tries to move off him, but he wraps his arms around her tummy to keep here there.
âCan we talk now?â He breathes, his breath hot on the shell of her ear and she whimpers. âI really think we should live together.â
âAnd whose place do you want to live at, hm? Weâre both pack rats, Har. We both need home offices, we both-â
âJust answer the question: do you want to live together?â
âYes.â She looks over her shoulder at him. âI do.â
âOkay, then.â He smiles and gently lifts her off of him. âRight when we started dating, I got pre-approved for a home loan.â He wraps her up in the blanket she has on the couch and carries her into the bedroom so they can both lay down before cleaning themselves up. âI put the house hunting on hold, obviouslyâŠIâd need to get pre-approved again since the three-month window they gave me lapsed, butâŠI can afford a pretty decent house.â He smiles fondly at Danielle. She had that after sex glow to her, and it always made him melt.
âYouâŠyou can afford a house?â
âI can.â He nods. âBeen saving up for a while. I was sort of hopingâŠwellâŠwe could look at houses together. I could buy it, and then we could split the mortgage payments, or I could just pay the mortgage and you could take care of the utilities and other bills. Whatever makes more sense.â He shrugs. She blinks a few times and then licks her lips.
âI justâŠwow, I canât believe you wanna do something so huge with me. Buying a house with someone is a pretty big deal.â
âI feel like it makes more sense to buy the house first, and then save back up for a wedding later, but thatâs just me.â He gives her a smug look and her eyes widen. âI think thatâs why the divorce rate is too high, not enough people live together before they get married.â A grin starts to form on her lips. âDonât look at me like that, weâve talked about long-term stuff before.â
âWeâve talked about hypothetical babies, not buying a house. Do you already have a realtor?â
âNo, and we donât really need one. We can just look up the houses we wanna see and contact the realtor thatâs selling the home. A friend of mine did that and they said it was a way better experience.â
âI canât believe this.â She shakes her and then giggles, throwing her arms around his neck. âYou wanna be us a house! I wish I could help with the down payment, but my student loans have prevented me from putting a lot into my savingsâŠâ
âItâs no problem. Youâre able to afford this place on your own, so I figured youâd be able to help with bills and stuff.â
âI definitely will be able to.â She kisses his cheek. âLetâs go take a shower and then we can start looking on realtor.â
âEager.â He smirks as she tugs him up from the bed.
âNowâs the time to buy! All of the snowbirds who are looking to make the big plunge to warm weather full time will be looking to get rid of their houses, and with the school year starting we donât really have to worry about competing with families. Itâs perfect, Harry!â
It was, it really was.
//
By the beginning of October, the two were moved into a stunning home with four bedrooms, and four baths. They got just about everything on their wish list, and anything they didnât, Harry said he could make happen. Danielle was able to pass out candy for Halloween to the kids in the neighborhood, which delighted her to no end because a few of her new and previous students stopped by. And when it came time for Thanksgiving, even though they werenât full unpacked, Danielle was able to host a fabulous dinner for her family.
It wasnât always perfect, they disagreed on paint colors, furniture, curtains, and rugs. They usually found some way to compromise, though. Sometimes Danielle had trouble checking her attitude at the door. There was one evening she got home a little later than usual, so Harry got dinner started. A nice gesture on his part, which she thanked him for. However, when it came time to clean up, she wouldnât stop huffing while she loaded the dishwasher.
âAlright, whatâs wrong?â He finally asks. âWhy are you reorganizing everything?â
âBecause you never put anything in here right.â She snaps. âBowls and cups go on the top rack. Look at this! You put one of the little plates up here, how the fuck is that supposed to get cleaned properly?â She says as she moves the small plate to the bottom rack. âYou also donât load the silverware correctly. Did you want me to stab myself?! Iâm usually the one that has to unload it.â She huffs again after throwing a pod in and turning the dishwasher on. She crosses her arms and looks at him. âIâm your girlfriend, not your mother.â
âI never said you were.â He crosses his arms as well, astonished at her tone.
âYeah? So, did you think that your dirty socks and underwear just magically picked themselves up and put themselves into your hamper? Did you think that the bed magically gets made? Did you think that the broom and dustpan do a little fucking dance and thatâs how the shmutz on the floor gets cleaned up?!â
âYouâre making it seem like I donât do anything to help out around here. Iâm the one that rakes the leaves and mows the lawn, Iâm the one that has to stop what Iâm doing to come kill a bug every time you yelp, Iâm the one that takes care of all the trash in the house-â
âOnly when I say something about it overflowing. I have to tell you to do everything!â
âLook, Iâm sorry I donât load the dishwasher in the way that youâd prefer, but the dishes get clean, so-â
âNo, they donât. I either have to run it again, or I wash the stuff by hand. Weâre gonna have kids someday, Harry, I donât want them picking up on your bad habits.â
âMy bad habits?!â Okay, now he was getting angry. âI have to ask you to clean your hair out of the shower drain. In fact, your hair is fucking everywhere! You never wipe off the mirror after you pop a pimple, which you know you shouldnât be doing anyway.â He rolls his eyes. Her face falls into a deep frown. âNot so much fun when someoneâs pointing out your flaws, is it?â
âFuck off.â She turns on her heel and makes her way out of the kitchen.
âOh, so thatâs how itâs going to be. Youâre going to start an argument with me, but youâre not going to finish it?â He says as he follows her out to the staircase.
âYou asked me what was wrong, and I told you.â She states.
âYeah, but you didnât have to be such a bitch about it.â Her eyes widen with anger at that, and her nails press into her palms. She starts stomping her way upstairs. âDani.â He sighs. âShit, I didnât mean to say that.â He follows her up the stairs.
âBut you did.â She goes into the bedroom and almost shuts the door in his face, but he catches it, making his way in. âYou men are all the same, you know that? Any time a woman calls you out on some crap, sheâs a bitch.â
âYou got upset over something as insignificant as loading a dishwasher. You know weâre lucky to even have one? There are people who donât have the luxury.â
âYeah, I know! And Iâd probably be the one to always be washing the dishes.â
âIf it bothered you that much, then why didnât you say something to me before?â
âBecause I didnât want to come off as naggy! I donât want to be one of those women thatâs always telling their partner what to do and how to do it, but holy fuck, who actually raised you?! I mean, some of the things you do, I just donât understand.â She shakes her head.
âWe were obviously raised differently.â He sighs. âYou know if you just told me-â
âBut I donât want to have to tell you! I donât want to have to ask because I shouldnât have to.â
âIâm not a mind reader, Dani!â
âIâm not asking you to be! But when the sink is full of dishes, do you think you could take care of it without me having to mention it? Do you think that when the trash is full you could just bag it up and take it and put a new bag in? I canât tell you how many times Iâve accidentally thrown something out without a bag being in the barrel. It drives me bananas!â
âOkay, IâllâŠIâll try to be better about those things. I donât want you to feel like youâre having to pick up after me.â He runs a hand through his hair.
âAndâŠIâll try to not just explode on you when somethingâs been bothering me.â She sits on the bed and lays back. âUgh, I just had a long day. Kids are starting to get colds, and the meeting I had after school just wouldnât end, Iâm supposed to get my period in a couple of days so I feel bloated and gross.â Harry sits down next to her and rubs her thigh. He looks down at her with a soft smile. âListen to me.â She sighs. âHere I am complaining about stupid things when you literally put your life at risk every time you go to work.â
âDonât compare us, babe. Youâre allowed to feel annoyed and stressed.â
âHow do you always stay so calm?â She tugs him down to lay with her.
âI donât know. Itâs hard to stay upset when I have such a cute girlfriend.â He kisses her cheek and she giggles.
âIâm sorry I got so mad.â
âItâs okay, baby.â He kisses her cheek again. âWeâre bound to have an argument once in a while. The most important thing is that we always make up afterwards.â Â He starts kissing on her neck and she bites her bottom lip.
âHarry, I just told you that I feel bloated and gross, and-â
âSo, let me make you feel not gross.â He says as he moves on top of her. âLet me love on you, darling, itâll help you destress.â He moves her up the bed until heâs situated between her legs. He undoes her pants and drags them down her legs. âAre you wearing boxer-briefs?â He questions.
âY-yeah? I started buying them a little while ago. Theyâre more comfortable, and they breathe better. Plus, no panty lines.â
âHow did I not notice this?â He blinks.
âBecause I usually change when I get home into something a little sexier.â She chuckles.
âActuallyâŠâ He tugs on the band and lets it snap back against her skin. âYou look pretty sexy in these.â
âYeah?â
âYeah.â
He tugs them off of her and kisses on her tummy. He parts he legs and licks around her folds. She sighs and lets her body rest into the mattress.
âI really feel like I donât deserve this since I was so nasty to you.â She says as she cards her finger through his hair.
âYou can make it up to me by letting me fuck your mouth afterwards. Seems like you could use a break from running it, hm?â He sucks on her clit, making her groan, and she nods.
âYeah, seems fair to me.â She gasps as he licks into her warm center, and uses his thumb on her clit. âWould you make me come a few times, though, at least?â
Her gives her a devilish smirk, which she takes as a yes while he continues to work his tongue in and out of her. He gave her four orgasms before crawling up her body and stuffing his throbbing down her throat. Feeling her nails dig into his hips as he thrusted in and out of her was everything he needed. They didnât do stuff like this often. He didnât want to be one of those couples where certain types of sex or positions were used as punishments. But he knew Danielle genuinely enjoyed feeling a little bit of pain, not that theyâd ever talked about it. He didnât want to embarrass her by bringing up one of her very obvious kinks. Whenever he did fuck her throat, though, she always moaned around him, and sheâd end up drenched between her legs all over again, so he knew she enjoyed it. He also made sure to love on her right afterwards, praising her, telling her how good she did for him, and heâd get a glass of water for her to sip on while he cleaned her up. They had good, healthy relationship in many aspects. He loved her, he really fucking loved her, and he never wanted to be without her.
âDani, fuck, I love you, I love you so much, shit!â He cries out as he comes down her throat. He pulls away from her carefully and she smiles up at him after swallowing. He wipes a few stray tears away from her cheek.
âI love you too.â She says, voice hoarse, but still there.
âDo you feel like taking a bath tonight? I could rub your shoulders for you.â
âIâd like that, yeah, thanks.â
//
A couple of months later, and it was fire safety week once again. They made it through their first holiday season together, and his thirty-third birthday. Now they had been together an entire year, owned a home together, and were looking into potentially getting a dog. Harry had told her all about the senior dogs at the shelter, and Danielle sort of liked the idea of not having to train a puppy, even if they were undeniably cute.
All of the kids in both of Danielleâs groups knew that Chief Styles was Miss Robinsonâs very special friend because she had a picture of the two of them on her desk, and one of him as her desktop wallpaper. It was no surprise that some of the kids teased them a bit, and asked some personal questions, but other than that the week was going well as it usually did. When Friday rolled around, it was time for the kids to put on their performance for the fire department. It was an assembly all of the grades came to, along with the other teachers. Once the four songs, and a skit, are over, Harry goes up to give his thanks just as he did last year.
âThank you all so much for another fantastic week. Fire safety is extremely important to learn at a young age. I know we had a lot of fun together, but remember, when youâre missing Chief Styles, donât call 911 to talk to him. Have your parent or guardian come down to the fire house, and we can say hello there, alright?â That was usually where the assembly would end, but today things were going to go a little differently. âIf I could have all of the kids back up on stage for a moment? Parents, I promise this wonât take more than a couple of minutes.â
Danielle was visibly confused because she hadnât planned anything else with the students, and Harry hadnât mentioned adding anything special today. So, she sat in her seat in the front row and watched. She leaned over next to one of her colleagues.
âDo you know whatâs going on?â She asks.
âJust watch, Dani.â Her colleague says, and Danielle sits up straight in her seat again.
All of the kids were holding a piece of paper in their hands. It was facing blank towards the audience. Some of them were giggling as Harry and the other fire fighters placed them in certain spots. Ralph gives Harry a thumbs up, and he starts speaking into the microphone again.
âNot a lot of people know this, or maybe they do, I donât really know, but last year was my first year getting to host fire safety week with the lovely Miss Robinson, and over this last year sheâs managed to steal my heart, giving me the great privilege of calling her my girlfriend.â The kids behind him snicker and giggle. âYou said youâd all be cool, come on.â He looks over at Danielle, who still really had no idea what the fuck was going on. âMiss Robinson, could you come here for a moment?â
She nods, and gets up slowly, walking over to him. He takes one of his hands in hers.
âWhat are you doing?â She whispers.
âYouâll see.â He winks. âMiss Robinson has taught her kids how to spell lots of interesting words already this year. She teaches them how to sound things out, and all that good stuff. I had a chance to teach them something this week and theyâve been dying to show you.â He tugs her to the side so the whole audience will be able to see. âAlright, kids, flip your papers over to show Miss Robinson.â
She gasps when she sees it, cupping a hand over her mouth as her eyes start to well up. All of the papers spelled out: M I S S â R O B I N S O N â W I L L â Y O U â M A R R Y â M E ? She looks at Harry, who was now down on one knee, holding up a gorgeous ring in a little black, velvet box.
âIt says, Miss Robinson, will you marry me?â He says to her with a beaming smile.
âI can see that.â She says, wiping some tears from her cheeks.
âWill you?â
âYes! Oh my god, yes.â Everyone in the room cheers as Harry slips the ring on her finger. He stands up, and kisses her, not to vulgarly because there were kids around, but enough to show how happy he was that she said yes. âWhen did you have the time to plan all of this with them?â
âGot their parentsâ emails from one of the other teachers.â He smirks. âAre you surprised?â
âIâm shocked!â She turns to her students. âYou all kept such a big secret from me!â They crowd around her to hug her as she opens her arms for them.
A ton of the teachers, parents, and fire fighters all come up to the congratulate the pair. Once all of the fuss is over, and the cafeteria is cleared, Harry and Danielle go back to her classroom so she can pack up her things for the day.
âDo you like the ring?â He asks nervously.
âAre you kidding, I love it! Itâs so beautiful, baby.â She pecks his lips. âI canât wait to call my parents, Iâm buzzing! Think of how cute Sarahâs going to be as a flower girl. Oh, and theyâll start calling you Uncle Harry, how sweet!â
âGonna have to let Ryan be a groomsman, or I think heâll try to kill me.â Harry chuckles. âHeâs quite protective over his Auntie Dani.â
âAnd donât you forget it.â She presses her finger to his chest. He leans in and kisses her tenderly. Normally, Danielle didnât like getting so lovey dovey in her classroom, but she figured she had a good excuse in case anyone walked in. âI still canât believe you planned all of that and pulled it off. Those kids usually canât keep a secret.â
âI promised them all a ride in one of the fire trucks if they kept their mouths shut.â
âDamn, that was really smart.â She chuckles.
âIâd say so.â He smirks. âDo you feel like going out to eat tonight to celebrate? Ralph and his husband were hoping to treat us.â
âSure.â She nods. âIâll just need to cancel my yoga classes really quick.â
âYou can still teach your classes if you want. I can just tell him we wonât be ready until later.â
âNo, see, I wanna go home, and stay there for a bit.â She tugs on the suspenders that were keeping his fire pants up. âIâd like to celebrate with you privately first, Chief Styles.â She takes his hat off and puts it on her own head before catching his bottom lip between her teeth and sucking on it. He groans into the kiss, and she lets his lip snap back. He had inadvertently put her into one of her âChief Styles/Miss Robinsonâ moods, which he wasnât upset about in the least. âHowâs that sound?â
âWell, Miss Robinson, Iâd say it sounds like youâre trying to seduce me.â He smirks, and she rolls her eyes. It was her least favorite joke.
âI canât wait to be Danielle Robinson Styles so that you canât make that stupid fucking joke anymore. Iâm not a forty-year-old woman seducing a recent college grad!â His face softens immensely. âWhat?â
âNothing.â He puts his hands on her hips and gives her a squeeze. âI justâŠI didnât think youâd want to change your name, is all.â
âHarry, Iâd be proud to be called Mrs. Styles. Think of how cute itâll be after we get married and I have a new class, and then when you come in for fire safety week, Iâll be able to say my husband, Chief Styles.â She pouts at him.
âAlright, itâs time we get you home before my stiffy pops through my pants.â
She giggles as she grabs her bag, and they both rush out of her classroom, and out to the car. They held hands the while way home, not wanting to be apart from one anotherâs touch for even a second.

Fen Brainrot [OC Art]â
Okay, hear me out. I have so much brainrot for my own character it has overtaken my every waking thought. So, here are a BUNCH of doodles and finished pieces! If you wanna be moots or wanna have any OC interactions,,, please,,, I would love it. My LMK sona, Fen, is my beloved child. Adore them, will hold them gently in my hand and show them off.
1. Riverside Relaxation (DTIYS Linked)
DTIYS for 300 followers on Instagram!! I decided to use Fen and went ahead and did some scene practice as well! Here is the link!
2. Reference Sheet!! Made her an official reference sheet!! Additionally, I updated her ToyHouse profile!! I broke her coding the other day though so I have to fix that eventually,,,,
3.Doodles Time!! Bunch of doodles Iâve drawn recently!!
Doodle 1- Stupid Chibi Doodle. Itâs canon that when sheâs flustered her tail puffs up ^^
Doodle 2- Asmoday (left) belongs to Kaz! OC interactions between these 2 characters because theyâre besties. They cause problems on purpose. Asmoday would come to visit Fen JUST to spill a shit ton of drama so they can laugh at everyone.
Doodle 3-Â âKaijuâ Concept! Something like SWKâs War Form and Macaqueâs Shadow Monster ^^ I have my own headcanons for the series and such and I intend to include it in my AU that I will EVENTUALLY work on. Notes for the concept are in the image ^^ Iâm not sure if I want to make this concept canon to Fenâs backstory and such!
Doodle 4- Concept for an AU of Fen! Scars are not canon to her backstory or anything. Part of a self indulgent series which will never see the light of day.Â
Doodle 5- HEART CHEST FLOOF SUPREMACY!! Was meant to be a warmup but ended up being a cooldown because I sketched this and then passed tf out because I drained my energy on homework. Was too exhausted to care how this really came out ^^
Thatâs all I got of Fen recently!! Iâve been pretty dead recently so Iâve just been trying to do more sketches so I donât burn myself out into nonexistence! If you wanna do an art trade PLEASE!! Let me know!! I would love to draw some more LMK ocs! :]

Bunny
Summary: You transferred to UA, being shy and not very talkative. With this, not many kids wanted to talk to you except for 3 third years, one of which falling for you once he laid his eyes on you.
Words: 2.6k
Warnings: fluff, very soft, it's kind of a jumbled mess but I love it
A/N: I hope you all enjoy this story! Also I gave the reader a cat quirk like my own personal OC. So you're kinda like Tsuyu but with Cat features.
You sit quietly at your desk, looking around the classroom to everyone else who were all much more focused on their conversations to notice the new girl. You were thankful for it, your anxiety would not be able to handle an entire class' focus being on you.
You played quietly with your fingers, small little lesions showing up as your blade like nails scraped at your skin. You looked up as 3 students walked in right as the bell rang, two of them talking and laughing loudly as the other kept his head low and only contributed whispers to the conversation.
The girl was the first to spot you, letting out a large gasp as she did. "Ooh! And new student! I'm Nejire!" She spoke, her hands clasped behind her back as she tilted her whole body to the side as to smile at you. You freeze instantly and shakily waive at her "Y-Y/N..." you spoke softly, catching the attention of the two males with Nejire more than you had had before. "Aw, you're like our little kitten Tamaki! I'm sorry for being so straightforward with introducing myself Y/N and for getting attention on you." She spoke, her tone getting softer as to make everyone look away from you.
You smile gently at her actions "it's okay..I just don't like the attention or meeting people to be honest.." you murmur out as he glance over to the navy haired boy whose eyes were focused on you. Once his eyes met your gaze, he blushed and instantly looked away as his body began to shake.
Nejire nods before she points to Mirio, "this is Mirio" she said with a smile as the blonde male waves "hey there!" He said before sitting down at his desk with Nejire following after. You watched them and smile gently before looking to boy you now knew as Tamaki. The first thing you noticed was his pointy ears, your smile growing softly as you felt your own cat ears flatten against your head.
Soon enough your home room teacher stepped in and you pulled your notes out to start doodling. Soon you felt a small tap on your shoulder from Nejire "so, Me, Mirio and Tamaki have to head to the first years to explain work studies and talk with them. From what everyone has been saying...you were the top third year at your old school?" She asks and tilts her head, her hair following behind her head.
You look up and nod "I was. I think I'm number 4 at this school behind you 3" you speak softly and smile.
"Awsome! Why don't you come with us and talk with the first years. You still have your work study right? That's the reason you transferred was to get closer to it?" She asks softly with a bright and happy smile
You nod to her words "that would be amazing Nejire. And yes, I transferred to be closer with my work study. Now that I think about it, there was another third year from U.A. in the agency I got approved for.." you speak softly.
Mirio and Tamaki both perk up hearing this "who did you get approved by Y/N?" Mirio asks as he turns to look at you
"Ah, Fatgum" you say softly and smile at him "I just don't know who all is under the agency yet" you speak softly
Tamaki hesitantly opens his mouth "I'm the other third year..." he speaks quietly as he keeps his head down. You turn and smile "well...at least I have met you then" you speak softly and rub his shoulder which only made him tense up more.
You pull away slowly and offer a gentle smile toward the timid Male before focusing on class until you and the other three left class for head down to the first years.
Once you all had finished introductions, you all went to the gym as Mirio wanted yo see just how tough this class was. Tamaki was almost instantly glued to the wall as his anxiety had sky rocketed with all the kids.
You quietly walked over to him and leaned against the wall as you sighed "are they always like this?" You ask softly and he simply nods "Mirio had a reason for this, he must gets carried away" Tamaki murmurs to you as he turns and looks at your face.
You nod before playing with your hands "will you introduce me to everyone at the agency?" You ask softly as he bit down on his swollen and chapped lip, nodding shortly after "O-Of course.." he whispered
You walked quietly beside Tamaki through the school halls, the two of you not wanting anything to do with the gym training that Nejire and Mirio were doing with the Students that had taken under their wings so to speak.
Tamaki kept his eyes on you the whole time you walked together, your entire presence captivating the male. He was so intrigued to find someone who was like him, that wasn't loud and outgoing and that was really sweet as well.
"Does that sound okay with you Tama?" You ask, snapping Tamaki from his daze.
"H-Huh?" He asks softly as he looks down to hide is embarrassment of missing your entire question.
"I asked if it sounded okay for us to go to my place to study since you brought up that you needed somewhere quiet to study. Mirio and Nejire don't know my dorm number yet so we would be in a safe and quite place~" you chime out to him, a smile dancing it's way across your lips
"T-That sounds perfect Y/N..I would r-really appreciate it" he says, looking up to me your happy gaze which only causes a small smile to tug at his own lips.
You giggle softly and nods "come on then slow poke. We have to get there before everyone starts coming home.." you say softly and hold you hand out for him, offering another gentle smile to the male.
Tamaki blushes but takes you hand and starts walking a bit faster as to keep up with you as you lead him to your dorm room. You smile and rub the top of his hand with your thumb as you could still feel his nerves going crazy.
Soon enough you were at your dorm you and you opened the door before moving to let him in. "It's a little messy but we can still get work done.." you murmur as you follow behind him before sitting down on your bed, him following and sitting next to you.
You smile up at him and pull all your homework from your bag before starting to work on it. You felt his gaze on you, but didn't want to make him more anxious so you kept your gaze on your work.
After a few hours of working, Tamaki looks up when he feels a sudden heavy weight on his left side, mainly his arm. He looks down and his face flushes when he sees you had fallen asleep on him, pencil still in hand. "Y-Y/N..." he whispers and shakily brushes your hair from your face.
He bites his lip and slowly sides your homework from your lap and moves it to your desk. He then puts his back in his bag carefully before laying down onto your bed. He pulls you with him as he curls up to keep you warm as your blanket had been moved to the floor already.
He sighs softly and smiles gently as he looks at your sleeping form "you look like a little bunny more than a kitty.." he murmurs to himself before his own eyes close and he falls asleep with you close in his arms.
You yawn as you wake up, looking around before you finally felt the weight of someone next to you. You started to panic before looking up, your mind instantly easing when you saw Tamaki sleeping soundly next to you still. He curled up close to you, his hair covering half of his face but you could still see how cute he looked as he slept.
You slowly get out of his arms and pull your phone from your bag, looking to see a few messages from Nejire.
đŠ Nejire-Chan
Hey have you seen Tamaki? (8:30 pm)
Y/Ninnie? Mirio and I cant get a hold of Tamaki at all...I'm getting worried (10 pm)
Ah, he finally answered! Sorry if I woke you two~ didn't know you were having a little date! Don't get wild on our Kitten okay? (2 am)
You roll your eyes at the messages before grabbing a hoodie from your floor before heading down to the common area to make breakfast. You finished up cooking and headed back up to your dorm, not wanting to eat downstairs where it was all quiet and alone. You opened the door to your dorm and smile to see Tamaki awake, rubbing his eyes.
Once his eyes landed on you, his face flushed red "Y-Y/N...why do you have my hoodie on?" He asks softly
You look down and blush "ah I-I had just grabbed one from the floor. I'm sorry Tama! I'll take it off." You say softly but he stops you before you can even set your food down "K-Keep it on. You look c-cute" he said with a big smile.
After a few weeks and getting to know everyone in the agency, you were allowed out on patrols with Tamaki. He was very hesitant at first to have anyone but Fatgum with him, but with Kirishima now in the agency, someone had to help and train the first year.
You happily walked next to Tamaki and looked around, "it's different doing Hero Studies over here. My last hero study was just paperwork.." you sighed out, your tone of voice much louder since you were just around Tamaki, spooking the male a bit.
Tamaki looks to you and tilts his head "really?" He asks as he looks down at you "t-they should at least let you watch patrols even if you don't do anything. F-Fatgum trusts us rather well but most heros get to do patrols by their third year.." he spoke and then looked up when he heard a scream that was just around the corner.
You both rushed around the corner and Tamaki instantly looked around before he saw a woman on the ground. He walked over and began to assess the wounds she had as you looked around to find any culprit. Soon enough, you had your answer as you were grabbed and pulled down the alleyway.
You squeal and try to fight back before looking to Tamaki, making eye contact and seeing his body start to panic before everything went black as a hand holding a rather soaked rag was placed over your nose an mouth.
Tamaki stood still in shock, his body unable to move as he watched you get taken. He shook himself back to reality and instant pulled his phone out to call Fatgum and then Neijire and Mirio.
"W-what do I do..?" He whispers into the phone as he starts rushing around to see if he could spot you at all.
"Well, calm down first off. You won't do anything good when you're panicking Tamaki. We all know that.." Nejire said as she sighed, Mirio leaning to speak up once she was done.
"You need to look down alleys and inlets mostly. It sounds like the villain that took Y/N doesn't have a quirk since your victim had been cut and then Y/N was drugged. He couldn't have gotten that far.."
Tamaki only nods before shakily sighing into the phone "w-what if she's really hurt..its our first patrol and she's already gotten taken and she's gonna be hurt and hate everything." He said as fast as his mouth would allow him and felt tears start streaming down his face
"Tama...calm down. Me and Mirio will come help look for her as well as some of the other heroes okay? She'll be just fine!" Nejire said as she tried to cheer the anxious male up, but it only made his stomach churn when he heard the words "She'll be fine". He knew you would be fine but he could only think of the worst and he didn't want you to hate him or not trust him anymore.
After 5 hours and a few pros coming in to help, you were finally found. You were bruised and bloody, but mostly okay. Tamaki looks at your body and starts whimpering, his whole body shaking as tears start falling down his cheeks.
Nejire looks over and runs to hug him, pulling his face down to her shoulder to let him cry. "She's okay Tamaki...I promise. I know you care for her but you need to calm down. Everything will be okay..." she murmurs and runs his back before taking him over to one of the cars that had been called "let's head to the dorm.." she whispers and pulls him into the car with her.
Weeks pass and you were still holed up in your dorm, not able to do anything as you were waiting on your broken ankle to heal. Nejire and Mirio were persistent on bringing you any homework you guys had, and always told you what had happened in class before giving you an apologetic look when you asked about Tamaki.
You knew he had felt bad for what had happened but you missed him, you didn't know why exactly as you had never felt this way about anyone but your heart hurt when you were away from him. You had never thought about loving someone as you were focused on school but you just felt complete around Tamaki and you needed to see him.
You grab you phone and pull his contact up, before hitting the video call button. You attempted 3 times, the first 2 times being rejected before he finally answered.
"W-What do you want Y/N?" He asks quietly as he laid his phone on his desk, so you were only able to see the ceiling of his dorm.
"I want to talk to you and I really want to see you Tama.." you say softly and adjust yourself on you bed. "Come to my dorm..please" you whisper and get a pouty tone.
"Why..? I-I let you get hurt and y-you're broken now..." he said and you could hear his hiccups, your heart breaking know that he was crying.
"Tamaki, broken bones heal and bruises disappear...please come see me..I need to see you..." you whine out "I don't like hearing you cry..."
You were only met with the video call ending. You looked at your phone surprised and sat there stunned on your bed before you heard a knock at your door and then the door opening. Tamaki walks in quietly and looks at you before he completely breaks. He starts shaking and crying, covering his face as he does.
"Oh Tama...come here.." you speak out and open your arms, the male instantly coming over to hide in your neck, his sobs calming down as he did.
"Its okay...I'm here okay? I'm not dead...I'll be fine soon." You hum before looking down to him.
Tamaki looks up to you and whispers "Y/N...I'm so sorry. I didn't want to see you because I felt so guilty about getting you hurt but the guilt was worse than just that. I-I think I l-love you.." he finishes and his face flushes red. "My h-heart started hurting when I let you get taken and not seeing you for these weeks has only made it worse.." he whines out
"I love you too Tamaki...my body can't handle being away from you. I hope you will come see me more now..." you say with a gentle smile
Tamaki nods "I-I'll come see you if you'll be my little bunny?" He asks with a sweet smile
You laugh and nod, smiling brightly as you press a kiss to his nose.
"Of course I'll be your Bunny.."

Okay- here we go-
The Steampunk Minish AU
I'll leave a whole bunch of explanations under the cut because it's a mess. There's a lot....
Okay getting the minish themselves out of the way first- these are just three of them.
So first off is the minish girl with a mini guardian sword. She's the reason it turned into spirit tracks brainrot so it was fitting to give her an outfit based off of the engineers outfit.
She has a grappling hook as well, which is mostly for scaling up tables, chairs, and bookshelves in the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. And the guardian sword, due to being effective against guardians, is used to sever connections inside of them.
I had a sibling ask (around the vaatea au) if the minish used acorns as coffee cups so she has coffee in an acorn. She needs it.
Next is this guy. I honestly haven't put much thought into him except he's probably alot older than he looks. Also I think he'd vibe with Robbie in Akkala. Those goggles he has probably move like Robbies do as well.
He was also the one who made the little guardian sword.
Oh and his tail is under his clothes. It's probably so it doesn't get in the way.
Alright- my personal favorite and also the one that will probably out me on discord cause they're based off another OC I've already shown off and do not shut up about. Anyway, they're a ray of sunshine.
So they seem to carry a lot of tools on them, some of which can't be seen. They also have a lot of belts on their jacket, which, while it seems like just a fashion statement, I think they have a use. Most likely for holding more tools. The big pockets probably have tiny nuts bolts and screws. Also snacks. They gotta make sure their partner didn't just have coffee for breakfast.
So Purah. She's actually pretty important since, not only is she a scientist, she can see them all as well. I had a theory a while back that she turned into a child to study minish and then that was cut from the game. She can see them but, can't quite understand them at that point. Maybe she makes a translator or finds a jabber nut later.
The minish trying to explain something here might be the first based off of handedness but also might be the first ones mother. The first picture has her speaking minish while the bottom has her drawing out a wrench, glasses, and a sword. The sword might be in reference to the minish cap.
Yep. They still wear leaf cloaks. But they're more for camouflage now. Botw may not have cats that I know of but they do have birds that typically eat mice. And the manga did show that yep animals can see the minish pretty well actually.
Alright- the fun part! It's mostly going to be explanation since- guardians...
Robbie studied guardians mostly so its probably his research that gave the minish the knowledge on their inner workings.
So the first picture has who I think is a younger version of the second minish.
We saw where Link had trouble climbing up sheikah walls and the minish probably had the same problem.
Theres one scene from secret world of Arrietty where they use double sided tape for climbing, and i wanted to use that but I didn't think tape was a thing invented in the zelda universe. And (after an adult timeline and beyond quest) SURE ENOUGH- Spirit Tracks wellspring station. Also possibly Purah or Robbies labs. So... I guess that can be a thing...
Secondly is the guardian labeled dead. It's been taken down. One thing I should mention- I'd like to think that if the active guardian stalkers are closer to towns or roads used regularly there's probably more of a chance that they'd be immobilized.
Plus the thought of the scene from revenge of the sith, with the AT-AT, would probably be cool with a guardian.
The guardians probably would go even more haywire than they already were while trying to shut them down and it's probably better if there isn't a giant spider robot running into one of the stables.
Link ran into this guardian, and knows he didn't take it down. So who or what did...?
There's a third unfinished doodle that I couldn't bring myself to finish, mainly because i couldn't figure out anything about the inside of a guardian. What I know is that there are gears, shafts, springs, and cores. I wanted initially to let them meet the hylian champion but- this link is more of an adult and he probably can't see them.
Finally- I did say it devolved into spirit tracks.
The first picture is a book on New Hyrule, which is covering the Spirit Train, The Hero of Spirits, and Byrne apparently. This book might have been lost somewhere in Hyrule Castle, since I'd like to believe the royal family would keep track of all the legends and history of Hyrule.
Finally, the final picture.
So the minish girl (Okay they all really need names...) is trying to decide on how to power the train. Sheikah technology or Lokomo technology. Two very different technologies.
They are not the same. Not even remotely.
The train she's in the middle of sketching was from the ST concept art. Apparently the book she was reading didn't have much on steam power.
(But that doesn't mean it's the only book. If I had to guess there's most likely a few more books on the technology from new hyrule.)
I'd like to have eventually a train going from Akkala to Hatenos lab, and eventually go across all of Hyrule
Anyway thanks for reading through! I know it was a mess.

Notes: Part 1
Masterlist
Chapter 2
At the barracksâ canteen reigns the unspoken rule that no one is allowed to cook borsch, and trying to do so is punished by cleaning all windows with cold water only in the middle of the night. Canât see anything because the nights at the outskirts of Zapolyarny are blacker than out in the taiga? Tough luck. There are so many different recipes as there are families out there, and everyone has their very own way to make it. Fatui agents have brought each other to the hospital wing over fighting which recipe is the best, therefore a couple of years before Tartaglia and you enrolled, this rule was established.
Sitting out in the cold of Jaroslawk at four in the morning, youâd kill for a hot bowl of your mamochkaâs borschâthe best in Morepesok even though Tartaglia begs to differ, but the only problem with his claim is that he is fucking wrong.
Through your binoculars you see everything is quiet and dark on the other side of the compound, which is a good sign. Unfortunately, good also means very boring. Youâve been lying in the exact same position for nearly three hours now: on your belly, elbows slightly propping your upper body to see the Baronâs estate thatâs embraced by a forest like a mother cradling its child. Tales have it if you make even one little mistake inside those cold brick walls, Baron Igor would personally see to it that you donât leave these woods alive and whatever his hellish guard dogs donât finish eating up, his servants would send to your family as a small parting gift and warning to get as far and fast away as possible.
If only he were as thorough covering his tracks as he is scaring people, but Baron Igor has never really excelled at multiple things and now, months after the first little bird brought some interesting insight, you canât wait for Baron Igor to finally slip and confirm the rumours about him selling information on one of Il Dottoreâs gun research labs to a spy from Sumeru. Intel has it exchanges usually occur once every full moon and with the orb now hidden behind thick, black clouds, this is the last chance to get some evidence before the ship leaving to Sumeru carries whoever deserves a knife in their windpipe back to their God of Wisdom.
Baron Igor has messed up, got too arrogant, and now you and your team are here to make sure he eats up his mess. It wasnât easy to infiltrate his mansion. Mitsuki only passed because you took out two of the other contesters for one of the Baronâs favourite restaurants down in Nowobirsk. That man bows to greed and when introduced to the placeâs new maĂźtre dâhĂŽtelâthe best of his kind, the most exotic to own during their flimsy ceasefire with InazumaâBaron Igor acted swiftly and hired him. Mitsuki had gagged at those words while lieutenant Scaramouche had shown the patience of a man barely holding himself back from violence. Two days later, Mitsuki took his position as spy and head waiter of the Baronâs personal restaurant taking up the whole second floor in the right wing of his stone mansion.
âFuck me, I look like a penguin,â Mitsuki had said on the night before his work began at the estate, glaring at himself in the mirror dressed in a sharply tailored tuxedo.
âThen we know who to call if Baron Igor decides to open a zoo,â Mikhail had said, but he was in no hurry to turn away his appreciative gaze from how tight Mitsukiâs black pants tugged his slim legs and ass.
Thatâs the team, Mitsuki, you and MikhailâLock, Shock and Barrel, one of your fellow divisionâs comrade likes to call you for unknown reasons, simply laughing to himself and shaking his head as if trying to get rid of a good memory. Though for all that Scaramouche is concerned, to him youâre triple double and a clusterfuck he doesnât want anywhere near him or so help him Her Majesty the Tsaritsa, heâll stake your heads and scatter your remains to the seagulls terrorising the coast of Port Odessa.
âHe loves us,â Mikhail likes to joke, even though you arenât sure the words love and Scaramouche should be used in one sentence.
âOne day, heâll kill one of us with his bear hands and feel nothing,â Mitsuki commonly remarks, sounding like whatever youâd do to receive such a punishment is probably ghastly enough to justify being murdered.
âHis hat is pretty neat,â is usually your only contribution and they both look at you as if youâre crazy.
âAny movement?â a voice asks from your right. Mikhail shakes still fresh snow from his head and shoulders as he dugs under the narrow doorway, looking like a puppy trying to shake itself dry. Now that a year has passed since a Geo Vision user crushed his right arm and healers had to amputate it to save his life, heâs adapted pretty well to only one arm and hand at his disposal. Heâs balancing a cup in his palm while holding two paper bags with his fingers and somehow makes it look easy. He rejoins you at the window, carefully placing the steaming cup and one bag in front of you. You hand him your binoculars so he can see for himself, and inspect your breakfast. âDo I even want to know where you found,â you peak inside the bag, âpirozhky at a time like this?â
âCouple of blocks down thereâs this place. Really nice lady, gave me one for free and added a little extra to our coffee.â
You take a sip, and instantly begin coughing and pounding your chest as it goes down burning. âArchons, thatâs disgusting. Who in their right mind puts Fire-Water in their coffee?â
âI know, right?â Mikhail beams. âItâs genius.â
Itâs ghastly. You take another sip. Horrible, really. But it keeps you warm and awake. So maybe it isnât that bad at all.
While Mikhail observes the area, you dig into your beef and onion pirozhky. Thereâs nothing fun about pulling an all-nighter but sometimes sharing a cup of coffee and eating warm food helps to get through them. Also knowing someone suffers with you. Sharing pain is gain, after all.
âWell, they sure like taking their sweet time,â Mikhail mumbles, getting a little more comfortable on the cold stone ground. He puts the binoculars away and digs into his own food. âWhat are we gonna do if nothing happens today?â
âThen weâll come back next month and do it all over again.â Hopefully you donât have to. Fyrvaâsnezh was two weeks ago but this winter started off particularly brutal. Two out of three units are still missing from their outskirts training and you donât want to be in the poor lassesâ and ladsâ shoes who are still at the infirmary recovering from severe hypothermia. âWhat worries me more is that Mitsuki might lose his sanity if he stays there another whole month.â
âWell, what doesnât kill him makes him stronger,â Mikhail says, wiping his greasy fingers off his pants. âI just want to wipe that smug smirk off the Baronâs pig face.â
He and probably every citizen populating Jaroslawk. âOnce Mitsuki locates the communication point, weâll go in and neutralise the target if we canât catch him alive,â you say. âBaron Igor will try and weasel his way out of it but so far all evidence stands against him. The rest is up to Her Majesty.â And the Tsaritsa is known for many things, but mercy isnât one of them. That will show anyone else trying to make business behind her back.
âDo you really think Mitsuki will endure another month in that stupidly tight uniform?â Mikhail sounds like he very much wished for another month out in the cold like this if it meant Mitsuki would bless him for a while longer wearing his uniform.
You stretch your leg and kick him in his shin. âDonât jinx this, Nozhyalensky,â you say. âNo matter how good his ass looks in those pants, it isnât worth freezing your own ass off out in this cold. If we have to extend our mission, Iâm going to steal your coat and own it for the whole time.â
âYou donât care if I freeze to death?â
âI really donât.â
He puts his hand on his heart in mock despair. âThatâs harsh.â
It would be his own fault, no hard feelings. You sit in silence, sharing your scalding hot coffee. In the mansion on the other side, a light flickers on in the east wing. Mikhail shifts and makes a disgusted grunt. âI did not want to know the Baron is banging the Duchess of Pavlovich.â
âMight be good leverage in the future.â You quickly dot it down in your notebook, squinting at the barely illuminated page. âEspecially if the Duke refuses to pay his taxes again. Iâm sure we can get to him through her.â
More minutes pass in silence. Mikhail continues his watch while you start to mindlessly doodle a little Foul Legacy Child in the corner of your page. You wonder what time it is in Liyue. Is Childe also out on a mission or tugged in and sleeping well in a land that knows nothing of harsh winds and freezing nights. Does he spare a thought of home? Is he missing you as much as you miss him or has he already filled the gnawing void with faceless, warm women that comfort him at night?
âHeard anything from our comrades in Liyue?â Mikhail asks nonchalantly, but heâs always been the poorest liar of you three and itâs pretty obvious where this conversation is going. Part of you hungers for that conflict.
âThey still canât find whoever killed the Geo Archon. But Lord Childe might have located the Gnosis and has begun his infiltration.â
Chances are good he might succeed in another month or so, though from the letters youâve received so far, it sounds like he might succeed fucking the consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor before that. Tartaglia has never started anything serious with guys before, safe from occasionally drunk making outs, but new cultures could change a lot in you and itâs Tartagliaâs first time staying for so long in Liyue and meeting a man like this so called Zhongli.
Mikhail clicks his tongue in disgust. âI canât believe this guy is over there for three months already and is still nowhere near finishing the job.â He spits at the ground and twists his mouth in a very familiar manner of annoyanceâonly usually this expression is meant for initiate Fatui members who canât tell a shotgun from a sniper rifle.
âHow can you still be mad at him for handing you your ass three years ago,â you say. A manâs ego is such a frail thing, thank the Tsaritsa for being a strong, independent woman.
âThis isnât about that stupid fight,â Mikhail splutters, red blotches creeping up his neck. His inability to lie is abysmal. âI donât get how you stand that guy. His arrogance needs its own giant room to fit inside. Someone needs to knock him down a peg or two and maybe beat out this need to whore around as wellââ
You move in a flash. Mikhail doesnât have any time to react before he finds himself on his back, pinned down by your weight with a knife to his throat. âMikhail, I love you like my own kin and you know Iâd take a bullet for you any time,â you growl. âBut speak another filthy word about Childe and I will cut off your tongue and feed it to street dogs while watching you bleed out like a slaughtered pig. Are we clear?â
You feel Mikhailâs chest rising and falling under your spread hand, his body warm, proof of his life. How easy it would be to take it from him, to warm the cold, dirty ground with his blood.
Mikhailâs dark eyes donât give away anything. Heâs holding very still, like a cornered animal faced with its hunter; donât move and maybe it thinks one is dead. Eventually, he says quietly, âIf you could see what an unlikeable, unpleasant person he really is, maybe...â He doesn't finish. There is no need to. You know very well what point heâs trying to make.
âI donât need your supervision,â you say. âOr your pity.â
Mikhail barks a loud, humourless laugh. âLassie, if I had an ounce of pity left for anyone else than myself, I wouldnât be very good at this job, would I?â
You shift your weight. Mikhail groans as you put pressure on a wound a Pyro Vision user inflicted on him a week ago that hasnât fully healed yetâa favour for Mikhail to prevent him from following his train of thought. You donât know what is worse: His unrequited love for Mitsuki or Tartaglia and you knowing what you both want but canât have.
Mikhail quietly says your name and gently lowers your hand. The sharp knife has bit into his skin just enough to leave a fine, red line on his throat. âAll Iâm saying is, I am not the bad guy here.â
He is right, of course. But that makes it even worse, because without a bad guy, who could you put blame on? Who would be the target of your frustration and your scorn? Who would pay for countless sleepless nights wasted alone or in a strangerâs arms?
If there is no good, no bad side, no villains or heroes to put blame on, what does that leave for you? Just the law. It is hard, but it is the law.
There is no one but yourself who carries the burden. Even knowing Tartaglia goes through the same doesnât soothe the pain steadily growing in your heart. Youâre like two stars gravitating to each other, seeking the sweet collision to finally become one and create something bigger, the most exquisite light in the endless black galaxy, but whenever you manage to come close to each other, other forces pull you apart.
You shift your position from towering above him to slumping back on Mikhailâs lap, your anger deflated like a balloon.
âArguing with you is no fun,â you mumble, sheathing the knife back in its place inside your boot.
Mikhail arches one dark brow. âLearnt from the best. You donât want to get into an argument with my mama.â
âAre you two leaving me out from a team bonding session?â comes a static voice from your left.
âDarling, we would never leave you out from a potential threesome,â Mikhail says back, a wicked grin flirting with his mouth.
âBlergh,â you groan in disgust and roll off him, grabbing for the plastic piece from where Mitsukiâs voice has sounded; Il Dottoreâs newest invention, a voice transmitter agents use for long distance communication.
âSo, howâs it cooking, good looking?â Mikhail asks, ignoring your eyes rolling back. âAnything new at the front?â
Mitsuki is silent for a moment. Somewhere, a dog barks. âI think someone might have tipped the Baron off.â
Immediately, you feel Mikhail's body tense next to you. âDo you need us to come in?â
Oppressive silence fills the room. Mikhail jerks, but before he can jump to rash actions, you grab his arm hard enough to bruise. He freezes, and you both stare at the voice transmitter in Mikhailâs hand.
A moment later, static crackles, and Mitsuki says, âI received a note on the caviar shipment. Roads are all clear, it should come in around seven in the morning.â
Mikhail relaxes, but a sweat bead rolls from his temple and disappears behind his black turtle neck sweater. He sags against you, exhaling very loudly.
A couple of years ago, after you three had been working together and hadnât tried to kill each other as often as other teams, you guys had decided to come up with your own secret language for times like these. Mikhail had first complained about the hours put into learning it the mostâthe semantics always changing depending on what line of work youâd infiltrateâbut eventually even he had agreed it was a pretty neat trick. What Mitsuki has said simply means all is in order and the mission is proceeding smoothly.
âLittle fucker,â Mikhail grumbles, ruffling his own hair just to keep his hand busy. You agree. It feels like youâve aged five years in those last five minutes.
That relief is short lived. A small explosion from the right wing inside the mansion lights up the night like a firework show. Mikhail is out of the window in a flash. You grab your rifle, keeping an eye on him as he crosses the street in a flash and climbs over the iron gate.
Two shadows tumble through the hole in the second floor. You sway your scope, laying eyes on Mitsuki as he wrestles with a cloaked figure. Purple sparks fly, clashing with crimson flames that rise skyward and turn into black smoke. At least something is according to plan even though your Cryo Vision would be more effective.
You watch them fight for a moment, unable to get a clear shot as both are short distance fighters. Mitsuki moves quicker than a flash, whirling two hatches over his head, parrying a deathly bow from the Sumeruâs Claymore. Mitsuki is smaller than most of his comrades. People like to underestimate him, but thatâs part of the fun, according to him. Proving people wrong. He dodges another swift strike, rolling out of the way and giving you a clear sight at your target. But over his shoulder, Mitsuki catches your eyes and gives the tiniest shake of his head. Not yet.
You wish he could see the stingy eye youâre giving him right now. Youâve waited long enough out in this cold and your whole body shakes with the need to move, the need to fight. A quick look to Mikhail shows heâs fending off two of the Baronâs guards himself. Luckily, they canât really hold their stand against a fully trained Fatui agent. He quickly takes out his opponents, closing in on Mitsuki and the Sumeru agent. Mitsuki has driven him to the edge of the forest. So thatâs his plan. You wait until the spy is right beneath a long, thick branch, then pull the trigger. The shot is muffled by the silencer, slicing through the air with infused Cryo power. It hits its target, cutting the branch off. The Sumeru spy is too slow. When the branch buries him under its weight, Mikhail finally catches up to Mitsuki, and through your scope you can see him patting Mitsuki down for injuries. Mitsuki pushes him away, not hard or in a mean way, just enough to signal this isnât the time. The job isnât done yet.
Mitsuki advances the spy and kneels, looking for signs of life. He looks up, his dark eyes searching your scope. He holds your gaze, picking up his voice transmitter.
âI have good and bad news,â he says. âThe spy is still alive, so weâll get our answers. But now Iâm pretty sure the Baron knows whatâs going on.â
âThen donât just stand there, someone go after him, quick!â you yell in your transmitter.
Before Mikhail dashes off, you hear him curse. âLord Scaramouche is going to kill us.â
He will, considered this was supposed to undergo without the Baron noticing anything.
* * *
Dear little tygress,
forgive my horrible handwriting. I am still shaking from all the laughter your last letter gave me. Zhongli-xiansheng was actually worried for my wellbeing because I had choked on air and almost died. I swear, you will kill me one day, little tygress.
Speaking of little and potential lethal beasts, Iâm surprised Scaramouche didnât use your head as a toilet plunger. I really do think he's fond of you, little tygress. Any other team would be six feet under by now. You have to tell me your secret once Iâm back. Scaramouche still doesnât know I broke his favourite, ugly cup with the bear on the front from Fontaine, and I want to be prepared once he knows.
Everything is the same in Liyue, and at the same time, everything is changing. Rex Lapisâ murder is still unsolved, and I do enjoy watching the little traveller boy run around looking for answers. Once I return with the Geo Archonâs gnosis, dinner will be on me.
How are things at home? I hope Tonia hasnât finished all mooncakes by herself again and saved some for the rest of the bunch. I canât bear to hear Anthon cry again about me only sending sweets to Tonia and Teucer. Has the old man gotten in touch with you? He still doesnât reply to me, but mama says heâs reading the letters. Maybe a bottle of Liyueâs Baijiu will loose his tongue, or hand for that matter. Itâs almost as good as Fire-Water, promise.
Till next time and donât get too much on little âMoucheâs nerves, otherwise there will be no room left for me.
Yours, Red Fox

anon said secret pining and i had to deliver. jeongguk is a soccer player. oc is cute and wears glasses. jk might be in love with his best friend :3 cute and soft and cuddly yay! 1k words. listen to three small words by joolie
Itâs with an unusual fondness that Jeongguk watches you kneel over his supine legs, glass frames gently shifting down the slope of your nose as your head tips forward. Your eyebrows are furrowed, gaze concentrated on the white gauze holding his broken foot in together. Heâd shattered it during a soccer match; a stupid skid that resulted in a collision that could have been fatal. At first, he was distraught by the prospect of his future sports career crumbling into ruins, but the doctor that had plastered him back together assured Jeongguk the injury would heal relatively well enough for him to be sweating through Coach Bangâs drills within a couple of months. He hadnât realised the silver lining of this unfortunate moment until now. Nothing mattered the moment you flitted into his room, a pretty picture of concern as you crowded his space. He would have minded it if anyone else was encroaching on him like. But this was you. And Jeongguk wanted you to be in his space all the time.
âStop wiggling,â you murmur, the mild frustration colouring your delicate voice making his tummy turn inside out.
âIâm not,â he returns, purposefully shuffling upright on the bed of pillows heâd been perched upon returning home.
Your eyes snap up, glaring at him with a soft pout. âJeongguk!â
He doesnât know if he hates or likes how his heart flutters at the mention of his name on your lips. Itâs a weird feeling thatâs been steadily consuming him lately, always there, emotions teetering a dangerous line.
âSorry.â He mumbles it out with a sheepish grin, hoping you donât notice the flush in his cheeks. Or the perpetual erratic pounding of his heart. It bangs like a drum in his head, clamouring to be heard.
âDo you want this to be ugly or cute? Hmm?â You cock an eyebrow, the marker in your hand suspended over the cast.
He shrugs, indifferent. âDonât really care.â
The rise of your hand is instinctive, but you draw it back before it grazes his skin, guilt bleeding through your gaze. Heâs already sunk into a flinch position, the laugh on the tip of his tongue spilling deep from his belly.
âYouâre mean,â you say, attention returning to the task at hand.
âIâm mean? You just tried to hit an injured man!â
âIf you werenât so annoying I wouldnât have wanted to hit you. And itâs your fault you got injured not mine. Now shut it â Iâm focusing here.â
âWhat are you even drawing,â he replies, inclining forward as much as his ailment would allow him. You swat him away, cupping your hands around the drawing. âNot a penis, please.â
âI wouldnât do that to you,â you retort, pink tongue sneaking out to wet your lips. Something dangerous lurches in his gut and Jeongguk swiftly returns to resting against his pillows, willing away the heat blossoming through his body.
âYou would.â
You hum, light and airy. He can hear the smile in your voice. âI would.â
He shuffles his stagnant leg in retaliation.
âJeongguk!â
âWhat?â He canât help the laugh, an itch to touch you forming in his palm when you raise your head again in indignation. He wants to cup your cheeks so bad. They're so cute, round and soft like little chipmunk cheeks. He used to call you that in elementary school until you cried hard one day and told him to stop because you thought he was calling your face fat. Quite the opposite actually, Jeongguk was obsessed with your face. He could stare at you for hours if youâd let him. The curve of cupidâs bow in particular. Sometimes he wonders what itâd be like to trace your lips with his fingers, learn what they felt like underneath his skin. Sometimes he wondered what they would feel like on his own.
You pause, reflexively nudging your frames back up your nose bridge. The little action tugs the corner of his mouth upwards, chest tight with unspoken words. âLet me finish, Jeongguk. Or Iâll draw a dick on your broken leg.â
âOkay, okay. Go ahead, Picasso.â
He lets you finish in silence, memorising the little motions in your face as you sketch dark lines against the material; how you bite your lip when youâre contemplating, eyes squinting even with the lenses covering aiding your vision. Youâre so cute it hurts.
âVoila!â You reveal your masterpiece with a happy little noise, hands no longer resting on his bound leg. It takes him a moment to decipher whatâs etched onto his cast but when he gets it his heart swells so quick it threatens to burst. Itâs two round bees, adorably doodled into the white plaster. Oneâs got large glasses over its eyes and theyâre both surrounded by hearts and tiny flowers. The need to touch you hits him so quick he reels from it, head roaring with the pounding of his heart. âItâs cute, right? And if you twist your leg a little â not much donât hurt yourself, you idiot. Look, right here.â And there it is, a miniature penis. Balls and all. Permanent on his leg. The laugh that floats his mouth resounds loud in his chest.
Itâs compulsive, how he stretches out to sweep you into his arms, holding you tight even when you squirm in protest, your glass frames stabbing his chest relentlessly.
âJeongguk! Your leg! Iâm gonna hurt you!â
âYouâre not,â he insists, loving the way you feel pressed against him, his heart dissolving into an infinite pool of ardour. âThank you.â
âFor the dick drawing?â You say, finally yielding into him. Two turned into one. Jeongguk thinks this is what love might feel like. He doesn't know if it is yet, but, if someone was to ask him what it was, heâd say this was it. You against him, his heart calm and wild within him.
âFor everything,â he murmurs into the stillness of his room, hoping you discern what lies beneath his words of gratitude.
You scoff, hand moving to ruffle his brown curls. âYouâre so corny itâs lame, Jeongguk.â

Coming out
A quick message before you get into the story - I really wanted to do something for LGBT cuz I always end up forgetting or not having time to finish any drawings, most of the time I just do art about my OCâs and what their cannon sexualities are - but this year I wanted to do something a bit more serious, if that makes sense Iâve always been told by parents and friends that as long as you are coming out to people who you trust and people you know who will support you, then in the end, everything will be fine. Iâve always thought that if I where to ever be bisexual, gay, asexual or any other LGBT term that I would be comfortable to open up to my family. My preferences for who I like romantically arenât really something I think all about that much. Iâve never dated and thus far all my luck with crushes and boys has just been really bad - and as someone who was and still is incredibly shy about dating and pretty much anything romantic Iâve learnt to not rush into things, Iâll find out who/what I like in time Now that Iâm older Iâve been thinking more on it, and though I donât want to go too deep into this stuff since it is personal, even with a supportive family I still have that fear of talking about these sorts of things. I wanted to write this story to show that even despite the fact someone may have a supportive family, supportive friends or even just that one supportive person in their life - overcoming that hurdle of fear and exposing a part of yourself that is so personal and dear, is terrifying. Itâs a big relief to finally talk about these things yes, especially if youâve been forced to shut these kinds of things away (in which case I hope you are in a happier healthier environment). But even with that in mind it can be hard for anyone to open up about these things, even those who know theyâre in a safe environment and know they have family to support them. I donât know if I got that message into this story, this is my first time writing something that tackled LGBT this seriously so I hope I was able to do it right. Okay message over ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A story between Jaakuna (Comoress x Kashu, oc) and Jizuko (Monoma x Pony) Jaakuna in my cannon NGAU is gay, whereas Jizuko is bisexual. Jizuko if the first person Jaakuna comes out to, and Jizuko is fiercely supportive. So hereâs a little coming out story between my OCâs!~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jizuko had been happily doodling away idly in one of her notebooks when the door to her room suddenly opened, and none other then Jaakuna stepped inside. She rose a brow, watching as he stepped inside without a word and bumped her door closed with his heel âEver heard of knocking?â She asked, brow cocked as she moved her head up from her notebook âI could have been changing or somethingâ Jaakuna, still not saying a word, walked over to her bed, sat down, and then let his body flop backwards against the mattress. Jizuko rose a brow further, examining his face, though his gaze was skyward there was something distant about it, as though he was lost somewhere deep in thought. She titled her head, nudging his shoulder with her foot âHello? Gunna answer me??â She asked, honestly not caring about her previous questions, but now just curious to see if heâd speak. Jaakuna behind closed doors with close friends, to her, was a much more quite and chill person, but that aside, he was never totally silent. When she got not response, she put down her notebook and shuffled on the bed, sitting cross legged besides him while she hugged an one of her many plushies to her chest â..You wanna talk about it?â She asked, resting her head a top of her toys. âMngh..â Jizuko moved and picked up another one of her plush toys, and placed it ontop of Jaakunaâs chest, where his hands reached up to hold it, lazily running his fingers through the soft felt - something sheâd learnt he liked to do with her toys and pillows, but something heâd always deny when she asked about it. âSomething happen??â She continued, arms returning to her own plushy â...I think I might be having a mid-life crisisâ Jizuko blinked â..Well, thatâs somethingâ she clarified with a slow nod. Jaakuna replied with a small hum â...Wanna talk shit about it?â She asked innocently Many where surprised when Jizuko would say Jaakuna was one of her closest friends, the two couldnât be more opposites if they tried. Jizuko was small and dainty looking, she liked cutesy things, her dorm itself was full to the brim with things that she loved: manga volumes, cooking books, plush toys and pillows, all the listed items for a typical âcuteâ person. Jaakuna was dark and grumpy, often brooding in the corner silently or cussing out something or someone. Years ago, Jaakuna would have been someone she would avoid in the hallways - but beyond that edgy shell was a genuinely sweet and caring person. Jaakuna was caring, very caring, perhaps cared too much about his close friends. Deep down he had a big heart, but like many typical boys, he struggled to verbalise those feelings, and thus ended up getting angry. Jizuko and him shared a connection with that, both cared a lot for friends and family, and yet both felt as though they could only be heard by yelling their opinions. Their bond was what Jizuko would call special - Jaakuna had let his walls down a few times, letting her see him at his most vulnerable. She felt flattered he trusted her enough, and in turn she never told a soul what he would share with her - what he told her would stay with her till the day she died, Jaakuna had made her promise that. âMngh..â Jaakuna all of a sudden looked..she couldnât put her finger on it. He hugged the plushie to his chest, peering away from Jizuko. âUh..itâs kinda complicated..â he started âYeah, a life crisis usually isâ Jizuko reasoned Jaakunaâs cheeks flushed a light pink, Jizuko quirked a brow but didnât comment on it, not yet at least. Finally Jaakuna sat up, toy still held to him. He rubbed at his neck with one hand âIâm..kinda struggling with this one, more then the others Iâve hadâ âWell, are you gonna bitch about it or not?â Jaakuna gave her a look âWhaaat! Itâs your fault for getting me all curious! And why come here in the first place?â Jaakuna opened his mouth to speak, but growled in frustration and then shuffled the other way, crossing his arms over his chest. Jizuko shimmied down the bed on her knees until she was sitting besides him, and then waited for him to start. â..So Uh, you remember how last week I mentioned I got invited to Yureiâs birthday?â A bit random, but she nodded âYeah..â She pointed a finger to her forehead, where a small grey horn sprouted out next to her bangs âGuy with the horn?â Jaakuna nodded and Jizuko lowered her hand âWhy? Did something happen??â She paused, before her eyebrows scrunched like gathering thunder heads, checks puffed out with a clear scowl on her face âDo you want me to punch him for you?â âWha- No!â Jaakuna waved his hand and shook his head wildly, caught off guard at her sudden declaration of violence though not surprised, tiny people where a force to be reckoned with. âUh, anyway: I went to the party and Uhm, well..I-it was me, YĆ«rei and a few others..â Jaakuna tucked his legs up to him, leaning back against the wall as he still refused to look at her. âAnd maybe like, an..hour or so into the party we-Uhm-â jaakuna gulped, Jizuko watching the movement of his Adamâs apple before looking back to his face Jaakunaâs face and tips of his ears where flushed red, as he looked like he was trying to hide behind her plushie. Jaakuna groaned when he caught Jizukoâs confused gaze on him, and then muttered something under his breath âUh..What was that?â Jizuko asked. Jaakuna groaned louder before repeating, in the same mumbly dribble âI canât hear youâ Jizuko said after shaking her head, having heard what it was Jaakuna had said just as clearly as the first time. Jaakuna snorted through his nose, pulling his head out from the toy he was practically burying his face in âUgh! I said we...w-we got round to playing Uh, truth or dareâ â..Okay well, thatâs not unusualâ Jizuko said with a shrug âAnd I Uh- May have, Uh..I-I got dared to..t-to Uh..â The more he spoke the redder his face became, and he seemed to become more fidgety and nervous, looking like a skittish animal that would flee at any second. Jaakuna cleared his throat, praying his embarrassment wasnât as obvious as it felt â..I-I got dared to..to kiss...Yu...rei...â For a whole minute Jizuko didnât emote, the words processing - she let them digest, sink in - and when they did, she gasped âYou kissed YĆ«rei?!â âNO!â Jaakuna snapped at her like a mad dog Silence â....M-Maybe..â he repeated in a whisper, as though admitting it was some crime. â..On the lips or?â Jizuko elbowed him playfully with a wink, and Jaakuna bristled, leaning away âT-That ainât important! Ya little pervert!â Jizuko cackled her usual crazy giggle, covering her mouth with a hand, clearly finding amusement in her best friends embarrassing story. When she was done laughing at him Jaakuna continued âAnyway...Ever since then Iâve been, feeling...like-weird...itâs not a-â Jaakuna seemed to be struggling to grasp the right words, and yet Jizuko had an expression that said she already had it figured out âItâs not a BAD weird- well, sometimes it is? Like, some days itâs bad others itâs like..not as bad??â He began to gesture as he spoke, going off on a tangent, almost forgetting entirely Jizuko was there âAnd itâs been bugging me for the whole week, and itâs so fucking embarrassing and, like!..You know what I mean??â Jizuko hummed with a slow nod âOh I know exactly what you meanâ she said matter of factly Jaakuna didnât like her tone of voice, or how she was looking at him as though she pitied his own obliviousness. âWell- what is it then wise guy?â He challenged boldly, leaning back and raising a brow. Jizuko held her hands together as though she was praying, and inhaled, before she dipped them âJaakuna, youâre gayâ âWHAT?!â If Jaakuna hadnât been sitting with his back to her wall he would have for sure tumbled off the bed with how hard he jolted, bristling like a raged cat as he bared his teeth like some aggressive animal. âI AINT- what for- F-For that?? That- THAT SMUG LORD?!â He barked a loud laugh, and rolled his eyes âI ainât bloody gayâ Jizuko remained calm as ever âAnd yet I donât recall you ever having a crush on a girl beforeâ she said, raising a brow in thought. Jaakuna slowly turned to her, eye twitching, Jizuko failed to cower âAnd you always spend a lot of time with YĆ«rei, he even sits with you to eat lunch! Thatâs only a specialty reserved for very close peopleâ âThat doesnât prove anything!â âOh yeah?â Jizuko asked, not believing him âName one girl youâd like to dateâ âWha-â Jaakuna gagged âEw! Gross! You girls are disgusting..no offenceâ he added the last part with a small frown. Jizuko hummed again, and Jaakuna felt nervous, feeling like a corned animal while she was some predator, contradicting with how Jaakuna looked to be the more intimidating one of the two. âCome on! Admit it! You like him!â âI donât.â Jaakuna gritted his teeth âI donât..like like himâ he clarified, cheeks going redder âFineâ Jizuko leaned back, relaxed, and crossed her arms, a shifty smug grin on her face â...Name a girl youâd wanna fu-â âName a girl youâd wanna dateâ she repeated, holding up a finger âName ONE girl - and Iâll believe you donât like himâ Jaakuna snorted âHmph. Okay, FINE. I willâ he held his nose high, as if to look down on her. Jaakuna sat back, and opened his mouth...before closing it, and licking his lips, mouth suddenly dry. âUh..â Jizukoâs brow rose further, watching his flustered suffering as Jaakuna struggled to think of an answer âI-Uh-...uhm, R-Runa, I guess?â âYou guess?â Jizuko tilted her head âOr you know?â âW-Well-â Jaakuna made a gesture with his hands, looking more lost then before, Jizukoâs staring wasnât helping him âI mean- sheâs cool! T-Theres nothing wrong with Runa! Sheâs got..uhm, sheâs..â Jaakuna trailed off, looking to be struggling â...Got nice eyes??â He said, sounding just as confident as Jizuko expected him too âMhm, yeah, red eyes right?â She asked, tilting her head and leaning closer. âNot quite like the red eyes of your classmate whoâs seem to brighten whenever they land on youâ Jizuko said coyly. Jaakuna shot her a sharp warning glare, Jizuko dared on âMhm, yes sir youâd love yourself a tiny little goth girl. With nice skinny hips and arms. Arms that arenât strong enough to lift you off the ground ever so slightly when you hug. With no nice flat chest to rest your head against, no no. And no smugly charming smooth voice chuckling âJayJayâ to you in greeting..â Jaakuna gulped, mouth suddenly dry, face as hot as the sun as he became lost in his mind...Jizuko had possibly the most obnoxiously smug grin on her face that it could put the Cheshire Cat to shame. Jaakuanâs cheeks flushed a deeper red so quickly he saw tiny white dots âI-I..â his throat was dry â...I donât get what youâre implyingâ he muttered âYeah, that blush on your face doesnât say anything~â âShit!..â âJaakuna, itâs okay..â Jizukoâs tone took a turn as she patted his shoulder soothingly, the smugness gone from her face entirely âYou know your friends and myself will support you!â She chuckled lightly âSides, Iâm in the same boat as you..â Jizuko pulled her legs up to her chest, pressing a pink cheek into her knee âCrushing on your best friend and being too chicken to tell, sucks doesnât it?â With a small smile she peered back up to Jaakuna, whoâs scowl has lifted a little âWhat Iâm saying is that I think youâll be happy with YĆ«rei and you can make him happy. You guys are practically a duo! Hell, for the longest time I thought you two where already togetherâ Jaakuna has fallen quite, half lidded eyes boring into the floor with an intense look to them, hands clutching at the pink blankets on Jizukoâs bed. âIâm. Not. Gay.â He growled, shoulders shaking âNot for him. Not for anyone! I like girls. Period.â Jizuko gave her best friend a flat look and rose a brow, mulling over what to do â...Okay thenâ Jizuko unfolded her legs to hang off one end of the bed and all of a sudden stood up âIâll just go ask YĆ«rei on date~â âWot?!â Jaakuna practically exploded from the bed, jumping across the room to splat himself against the door, blocking Jizukoâs only means of exit. Jizuko rose her brow, smirking âWhatâs the issue? Yureiâs a cute guy, and if youâre not taking him..â she waggled her brows and Jaakuna bristled, squawking like a turkey âI-you- Dont you dare!â He barked âYouâre doing this on purpose!â âDoing what?â Jizuko asked, tilting her head âYouâve said youâre not gay so thereâs no issue! Iâll just go and ask YĆ«rei on a dateâ Jizuko took no less then a step forward before Jaakuna tried to push himself further back against the door âFuck offâ âI donât see why youâre being so dramatic: youâve said youâre not gay, and thatâs fine!â A smug smile pulled at her lips and Jaakuna growled, spreading his arms further over the door as if to hide it was even there. Jizuko peered skyward and then slowly rolled her eyes back towards Jaakuna âUnless of course..you have a problem with me asking him outâ Jaakunaâs lips pulled back into a grimace, baring his teeth like an angry dog. Jizuko was unfazed as she turned to idly walk about her room âI mean, have you seen him?? That body?â She questioned âDamn, heâs really bulked up since the start of the year huh? Not that you would knowâ Jizuko shrugged âOf course, Iâm sure all his fans know. I bet YĆ«rei gets tones of love letters! You know?â Jaakuna dragged his nails along the door, something in his gut twisting - where was she going with this??.. âMhm, I bet heâs a good kisser. He looks like the type of be good at kissing - you know? The typical jock hot guy thatâs all good with romance stuff? He fits the bill!â She turned to peer at Jaakuna over her shoulder, making sure their was enough distance between the two. Jaakunaâs eye twitched, the way she was talking about YĆ«rei was starting to really tick him off. He tried to brush it off and act indifferent to what she was saying, but that was becoming increasingly hard. His body was tense, his breaths deep as he tried to keep the wildfire in him at bay âSheâs starting to get real annoying. If she says ONE more thing about YĆ«rei..â âIâd be lying if I said I hadnât already..had thoughts about himâ Jizuko turned around once more, and was met with Jaakunaâs chest. She peered up, where Jaakuna was glaring down at her coldly. It was like staring death itself in the face, what she was expecting. âListen here you pintsize twatâ Jaakuna growled, voice like venom âYou say one more thing about YĆ«rei Iâm going to drag your ass six feet under!â Jizuko hummed, calm in the face of danger. A passive look on her face âWell itâs a good thing heâs not my typeâ The change in expression was so drastic on Jaakunaâs face it would have given anyone whiplash with how quickly his glare fell â...But- You practically just said you like him!â âAnd that, my naive friend, was a lieâ â...A lie?â Jaakuna repeated, blinking âDuhâ Jizuko said with an eye roll as though it was obvious âYureiâs too full of himself for me. It was all fake, just talk.â Jaakuna worked his jaw, numbly pointing to Jizuko âS-So...so everything you just said was too-â âGet you angry so youâd finally realize YOU have a crush on YĆ«rei? Yesâ Jizuko finished Jaakuna sucked in a breath, flinching back a little. Jaakuna liked girls. He loved girls! There was plenty to like about the girls in the hero courses: Furora was smart and clever, yet fair and pretty. Runa was quite and brooding like him, with a cool quirk he genuinely admired! Furu was tough and caring, her witt as smart as her combat skills. Jizuko was hard headed yet kind, she was sweet, she let him open up about things he wouldnât to anyone else. Above all the other girls, Jizuko had his respect. Liking girls should be easy, yet he felt a knot in his stomach, something clenching in his gut...like a weight holding him back. His stupid, stupid traitorous mind flashing with images of soft, curly hair that smelt of too much hairspray. Beautiful ruby eyes. A kind smile, bright enough to rival that of the sun. And a voice, as smooth as honey and as joyful as new lambs in spring calling out âJaakuna!â YĆ«rei â...Jaakuna?â Jizukoâs voice was gentle. She stepped closer to reach out for his hand, giving it a careful squeeze God dam it. God fucking damn it. What was wrong with him?? He grit his teeth, wanting the floor to swallow him. His cheeks became warm as, to his shame, hot tears began to blur his vision. He wanted to snarl at her, to curse Jizuko to hell and back, to trap away these stupids thoughts and feelings...but deep down, Jaakuna knew she was right. She had found the chip in his armour, sheâd seen right through it, and unraveled the deep, very real truth. âJaakuna nothing is wrong with youâ Jizuko stepped closer and gently grasped his other hand. âEverything is gonna be okay. Youâre gonna be okay, I promiseâ Jizukoâs eyes shined with kind, comforting light. Jaakuna shyly met her gaze, his tears swelling when she gave him a soft smile...something fell from his eye. A tear, followed by many more - the internal battle surfacing â..I am Jizuko..â âOh Jaakunaâ Jizuko was on him in an instant, tugging her taller friend into a warm hug, nestling his head in her shoulder as she rubbed her arm on his back. Jaakunaâs grasped at her desperately, ashamed to be crying, ashamed Jizuko was seeing him like this, ashamed sheâd been right. Ashamed he.. âI like YĆ«rei..â he whimpered, the rest of his sentence ending in weeps and sobs, as he let himself cry.

Part 5
Jack had been late getting things at the office wrapped up. When he finally finished he started out the front door of Statesmanâs. As he passed by Ryderâs desk he noticed a brightly doodled paper tapped to the desktop. He let out a soft chuckle before realizing it was a list and not just any list but the list they had made of the activities they wanted to do with him. He smiled as an idea popped into his head before he moved closer and glanced over the rest of it. It was all doable for sure so he quickly took a picture on his phone before heading out the door his own ideas starting to spring up in his head.
***
Jack had called you and told you to be ready by 6. He was coming to get you for a surprise. You had just finished getting ready when the knock on the door made a smile pull to your lips. You went to answer and there stood a very smug cowboy.
âThis is a bit of a change,â you let out a chuckle.
âYeah well when someone leaves their list out for the world to see sometimes people decide itâs their turn to show someone a good time,â the look on his face was pure triumph.
âJack Daniels you shouldnât be snooping!!â Your eyes had grown at his words and then you smacked at him playfully.
âHey darlinâ you are the one who left that brightly decorated thing tapped to your desktop,â he laughed.
You rolled your eyes at him before grabbing your jacket and shrugging it on before following him out the door.
âSo lights then?â You asked after climbing into his truck.
âYes lights sugar. You have done so much for me alright so I thought it was my turn to pay you back for all of it.â
âJack you donât have to âpayâ me back for anything. I wanted to do all of this for you but itâs nice to see you are back somewhat in the Christmas spirit again,â you gave him a side eyed glance with a victorious smile.
âWell Iâm still going to do some stuff for you,â he chuckled before he came up on a park where many other people were gathered.
It was the townâs annual Christmas lights show. They set up a huge Christmas tree along with lights all throughout the park and everyone gathers around for them to light them. You climbed out and gathered with the crowd with Jack next to you with his hand on the small of your back. You glanced up at him in excitement. Christmas lights was one of your favorite things about this time of year and you had made it a tradition every year to go see some wherever you were. Right on time everyone counted down before they lit the town up and you smiled wide as you looked around. Jack reached out his hand for yours and you took it before the two of you started to look around at the different light displays scattered about.
Jack thought you looked beautiful with the lights shining their colors on your face. Well he thought you always looked beautiful. Your smile was bright and he loved seeing you happy. The two of you had yet to let go of each otherïżœïżœïżœs hands, it felt right. It scared him to death but he knew when this finally happened it would be scary. You looked over at him all bright eyes and he smiled at you.
All in a rushed minute you slipped on a patch of ice that you never saw coming and Jack was reaching out for you and catching you. It was a mess of a moment and before you knew it Jack had you in his arms as close as you could get against him looking up into his eyes. You searched them for a moment before glancing down at his lips and looking back up to his brown eyes. His eyes seemed to make the same shifting movement before his hand came up to your cheek and his lips crashed against yours. It was everything you ever wanted it to be and more. You melted into him and wrapped your arms around his neck and pulling him closer. You never wanted this to end, you just wanted to stay in this moment with him for forever.
When the two of you finally pulled away you both started to laugh. You moved your head forward and his lips connected to your forehead.
âWas that okay?â You asked with hesitation.
âOh yes darlinâ it was perfectly okay. Iâve been waiting awhile to do that,â he brushed a piece of hair behind your ear.
âI have too Jack,â you were beaming so brightly that you pulled a laugh from him.
The two of stayed in the moment for a few more moments before you pulled him along with you to continue to look at the lights. Jack pulled you closer wrapping one arm around your neck to pull you to his side more and you reached up to hold his hand. When you reached the end of the trail they were giving out hot coco. You were excited and took yours with glee before starting to sip on it.
âShould we sip on our hot coco, drive around town and look at more lights?â Jack asked with a raised eyebrow.
 âThat would be great!â
The two of you headed for his truck before climbing in and taking off. Jack drove through different neighborhoods slowly looking at all the different homes decked out in lights and other decorations. You were in awe always at all of it and Jack mostly kept looking at your face inside of the lights. The same joy you got from the lights he soaked in from you. All too soon he made it back around to your home and put the truck in park. You both sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments before you looked at him.
âI had a really good time tonight Jack. And listen we donât have to call it anything yet if we donât want to. Iâm fine with slow and steady if thatâs what you need.â
âThank you darlinâ. I want this, I do but I do need to be a bit slower with this just because itâs been awhile.â
âI understand,â you gave him a smile as you finished the coco.
âThat was good hot coco. Best Iâve had in awhile,â Jack comments as he takes your hand.
âOh you havenât had mine yet cowboy,â you smirked.
âOh well pardon me maâam. I sure hope I get to try it soon.â
âYou will. You have seen the list now but I still have tricks up my sleeve no worries.â
He laughed before your eyes met again.
âKiss me again Jack,â the words came off soft and he was pulling your face to him again.
You would never get over how his lips felt so connected with yours like no one else was meant to fit to you like he did. You pulled away all too soon and let out a sigh.
âI donât want to go,â the words were with a hint of sadness.
âI know darlinâ I donât want you to either but we will see each other again soon,â he smirked softly.
âNo now mister the next one is mine okay!!â You protested getting a laugh from him.
âAlright alright,â he threw his hands up.
He gave you one more quick kiss before getting out and walking around to open your door. He held your hand all the way to the door and you couldnât help yourself but to get one more last good kiss from him before unlocking the door.
 âGoodnight cowboy.â
 âGoodnight darlinâ.â
You stepped inside knowing he wouldnât go back to his truck before you were safely inside. The second the door was shut you did what all the people did in the movies and backed against the door and slid down with the biggest smile on your face. You couldnât believe this was finally happening and you really hoped that it was the beginning of something so new and wonderful.

Can I request a Diavolo x MC x Beel ship?
THE HIMBO SHIP IS HERE HONEY !Â
This is my second favorite poly ship so I need to do it justice ! Sorry for the late answer but I finally settled on finishing these so here we go !
â
Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa â All three can do it but Beel does it most of the time. Diavolo and MC just laugh as their boyfriend watches the door curiously wondering why it wonât open.
Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them â MC does it absent-mindedly when theyâre bored they only realize what happens when classes are done and both Diavolo and Beel come over to them and notice all the little doodles. Gosh if you could see the smile on their faces.
Who starts the tickle fights â Diavolo attacks MC first. Beel watches from afar wanting to participate. As soon as Diavolo sees him he beckons him to join him to torture their lover with tickles.
Who starts the pillow fights â Diavolo and MC normally do. Teaming up they attack Beel who is just eating away, as soon as he sees the sandwich he was holding hit the floor all Hells break loose, to the point Diavolo, who is still having loads of fun with this, actually has to protect MC from the violently thrown pillows.
Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile â Still Diavolo. He comes last to bed and just spend a few minutes watching his lovers cuddled up together as they sleep.
Who mistakes salt for sugar â âBeel you know itâs salt right?â MC says âOh.Okay. â Beel responds but still drinks everything while Diavolo booming laugh rings in the background.
Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning â Beel does. MC gets mad all the way from their room, Diavolo just laughs heartily at the âaltercationâ.
Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines â MC was actually the first one to this, but seeing how funny they were and how happy Beel and him seemed to be everytime they heard them, Diavolo soon picked up on it.
Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order â None of them do this. They have more important priorities. As in spending all day having fun and loving each other so dearly. Barbatos is one ending up doing it for his Lord.
Who licks the spoon when theyâre baking brownies â Beel gets to lick off everything that stayed in the bowl while both Diavolo and MC have a small spoon of the preparation. Beel ends up with his face covered in chocolate, itâs actually extremely cute.
Who buys candles for dinners even though thereâs no special occasion â MC does. They say itâs nice to put some ambiance every once in a while.
Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen â MC does it everytime theyâre sitting besides either of their boyfriends.
Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation â Diavolo and Beel loves these so much, theyâre useless, completely and utterly useless but itâs a human souvenir to put on a fridge what more can they ask? They actually spend hours in gift shops their heads put together to decide which one is best for the fridge. MC just waits in the back.
Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines â MC once brought a human magazine to class, Diavolo saw the quiz and asked to do it, Beel was really adamant about it too so MC gave in, they still warned them most of these tests are fake. Did not stop their boyfriends to feel really bummed after seeing their results.

Chapter summary: Renata and the Doctor finally return to pick up their companion, Gabby Gonzalez. While Renata gathers her things from Zhe's gallery, the Doctor makes one trip to the past to say goodbye to...Renata?
Gabriella Gonzalez was deep in her sketching book. She had come to sit in the garden of their good friend Zhe. Being an eccentric alien garden, Gabby was often inspired to make doodles and drawings of what was in it. Huge statues lined the cobblestone pathway. Not even the beautiful sparkly blue grass would make anyone take their eyes off the statues. Gabby's own statueâher first statue ever since she learned how to wield the Block Transferâof Renata as the Vortex Butterfly proudly stood at the front. It was that statue that kept pulling Gabby's attention off her sketchbook every now and then.
She was doodling Renata and the Doctor, her mind not letting her think of anything else. Renata had regenerated then left one day ago to find their Doctor. There was trouble - as the other Doctor had told her and Renata - on Earth and so of course Renata would go find him. Gabby hadn't been too thrilled staying behind but she didn't have much of a choice. The new Renata was just as authoritative as the last. Something about a 'Master' and 'there's no way I'm letting you near him!'. Gabby still didn't understand but then Renata and the Doctor came back...only for Gabby to learn that the Doctor was going to regenerate. He had come to say goodbye to her. Tears still came to Gabby's eyes when she remembered his face. He was going to die and he was saying goodbye to everyone, including her. That had been one day ago and now Gabby was going crazy waiting for some type of contact from the two Time Lords. She didn't know if Renata and the Doctor were safe nor where they were.
The owner of the gallery where Gabby resided, and once Renata, had done her own digging with her contacts. They confirmed that the Earth was just fine, still rotating normally and still in its right orbit. Zhe was more than just the owner of the gallery, she had become a close friend of Renata and Gabby and so Gabby had no reason not to trust Zhe's words. Gabby just wasn't sure where Renata and the Doctor were now.
But then she heard it.
She froze when she heard the first light noise of wheezing.
Please be real. Please be real.
Gabby put her pencil down as she heard the second louder wheezing. She looked up and nearly cried out of joy when she saw the TARDIS materializing in the garden. She dumped her sketchbook on the bench and raced towards the garden. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. Her vision was blurred from tears but she kept laughing like a little girl who'd just seen something magnificent. Because she had.
Renata had barely open the door and stepped out when Gabby collided with her in a big hug. "Woah!" Renata barely kept on her feet from such a hug. "Gabriella, what's the meanâ"
"Shut up, just shut up! I thought something happened to you!" Gabby hugged her so tight that she might actually crack some bones.
"I'm sorry. We were in a rush andâ"
"It doesn't matter," Gabby squeezed Renata one more time before finally letting go. "You're here, you're alive andâ" she suddenly stopped and peered inside the TARDIS from where she stood, "Where's the Doctor!? Is he okay!?"
"Uuh...so there's been a changeâŠ" Renata was just beginning to explain when the Doctor walked out of the TARDIS.
"That's an understatement!"
Gabby loudly gasped and stumbled back a few steps. Her eyes were as wide as could be. "Doctor!?"
"Am I that bad looking this time?" the Doctor brought his hands to his face. He'd finally had a proper look at himself and he thought he was pretty good looking. It would do.
Gabby's eyes blinked fast while they looked the Doctor over. "It's you!"
"Why are you acting so surprised? I understand this isn't the first time you've seen me," the Doctor fixed his tweed jacket.
"Yeah but...that was the future you! That's what you said!"
"Hello, future!" the Doctor waved a hand. Gabby deadpanned him. "Oh alright," he dropped his hand to his side. "I'm sorry."
"Oh Doctor, I'm so sorry," Gabby's face slowly softened. "You diedâŠ"
"We all have to go sometime but in a matter of speaking I did die. But I'm hereâ"
Gabby didn't let him finish. She walked over and hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry I wasn't there."
The Doctor hugged her back. "I had Renata with me. She took good care of me."
"Still, wish I could've been there when it actually happened."
"No, you really wouldn't have," Renata's words broke them apart. "Because being the Doctor, he of course had to send us directly into trouble."
"Again, I'm so sorry I couldn't die the right way!" the Doctor rolled his eyes at her.
"What happened?" Gabby asked them, fairly amused as they started to bicker over some aliens and a crack and...something about a Prisoner Zero? They sure seemed to be acting normally for them.
"It's a long story, Gabriella. How about we talk it over while we...pick our stuff up?" Renata's eyes flickered to the gallery.
Gabby soon beamed when she understood what it meant. They were finally going back to the TARDIS after such a long time. Renata's illness had finally faded with the regeneration! "Oh yes! So we're all...we're all going back!?"
"Well, we are like a family right?" the Doctor asked and Gabby didn't miss the way his arm curled around Renata's waist.
"UuuhâŠ" Gabby's eyebrow went up without her trying. She was definitely taken aback when Renata shared a smile with him and leaned on him. "I think...we have a lot to discuss." A lot indeed.
"Why don't you two go ahead and start packing?" the Doctor suggested. "I need to take a quick little trip on my own."
"What? But you just got back!" Gabby was terrified that they would leave again without her. She understood why Renata did it the first time but she wasn't interested in letting it happen again.
"It'll be quick for you. I have to do it," the Doctor shared a meaningful look with Renata.
Renata gave him a nod. She knew where he was going. "Go ahead. And thanks."
"Thank you," the Doctor countered. He dove down to her lips for a quick kiss.
Gabby gaped. Renata, meanwhile, smiled at him with an actual blush! Gabby almost rubbed her eyes to make sure she was truly seeing this.
"Be back!" The Doctor exclaimed and hopped Gabby's head. "Start packing, Gabby-Gabbsâoh," he paused for a second, "I like that! Gabby-Gabbs! Gabbs!" He snapped his fingers a bit too close to her face that she flinched back, not that he would notice. He spun away and rushed into the TARDIS.
"Yeah, he seems to like using his hands more this time around," Renata commented while the TARDIS de-materialized. "We'll see how that goes. C'mon then! We got some packing to do and some goodbyes to say!"
"Wait a minute!" Gabby exclaimed as Renata took the lead towards the gallery. "Are we not going to talk about that!?"
Renata smiled knowingly ahead of her. "About what?"
"Ooh no!" Gabby almost laughed at Renata's attempt to deflect the topic. "You're not getting out of this so easily Renata! I'm serious!" She trailed after the Time Lady into the gallery.
~0~
Zhe's Gallery, 1 day ago.
Gabby ran out of Renata's bedroom, shouting for the Doctor. She heard the TARDIS materializing from inside the room. It was him! He had finally come back and with any luck, he had a cure for Renata. She hated to think that Renata's time was coming to an end.
"Doctor! Doctor!" Gabby yelled all the way down the hall, and to the TARDIS but she nearly crashed into the door when somebody opened it inches from her face. Gabby fervently shook her head and blinked fast to get her sight back. When she did, she saw who had come. "...Doctor?" It was the Doctor alright, but not the version Gabby knew. "Who...who are you?"
The eleventh Doctor smiled kindly at Gabby, though it was very strained. "Hello Gabby. It's the Doctor, don't worry."
But Gabby still didn't look convinced. "No...he's taller. And he wears suits. Plus, you look nothing like him!"
"I regenerated, Gabby. I'm from the future. I got your call but I'm a little late."
Gabby blinked at him, deciding if it was really true what he was saying. She looked back towards Renata's room. "...she's dying. Renata...she's dyingâŠ"
The Doctor gave a small nod of his head. "I know," he said grimly. "That's why I'm here."
"Did you find a cure?" Gabby asked him with hopeful eyes. The Doctor remained grim. With his intense gaze, Gabby knew that he hadn't. Tears formed in her eyes as she looked back at the room again. "She's going to die!"
"She will but she'll regenerate," the Doctor gently touched her arm. "And I'm going to be there with her. Thank you for taking care of her."
"Will she be okay?"
"Afterwards, yes. I'll make sure of it."
Gabby sighed. "What's going to happen?"
"I'm going make her last minutes as comfortable as possible," the Doctor gave her a quick hug and a kiss on top of her head.
He left her in search of Renata. He made it down the hallway and walked into the room where his Renata would be, her previous incarnation. His hearts nearly stopped at the sight of her writhing body on her bed.
Zhe was holding her hand tightly, trying to calm the Time Lady down.
"Renata," the Doctor hurried to the other side of the bed, ignoring Zhe's suspicious stare. He brushed Renata's blonde hair our of her face, feeling the sweat from her skin in the process.
Renata was swaying her head, coming in and out of consciousness. "I want...I want the...I want...the Doctor. Where is he?"
The Doctor grabbed her hand tightly, once again feeling the beads of her sweat on her skin. She was close, alright. "I'm here, love. I'm here."
Renata stopped moving to look at him.
Zhe's eyes had widened on him too. "You're"
The Doctor gave her a nod just to ease her suspicions on him. He then smiled softly for Renata. She was squinting her eyes as if she couldn't see him when in reality she was trying to process his words.
"I'm here," he told her and kissed the back of her hand.
"You're late," she said, sounding as if she wanted to huff. It made him laugh. Even when regeneration loomed over her, she would always have enough energy to scold.
"Yeah I am. And you have no idea how sorry I am. I should've been here - the other me - he should be here, but he's not coming. I'm so sorry."
Renata struggled to smile without making it seem too strained. She felt her entire body close to bursting. "No...it's my fault. I waited too long to change my mind. I wanted to die alone. But now that I'm hereâŠ" fresh tears filled her eyes, "I don't want to die by myself. I want you with me. How selfish am I? To think that you'll always come to me like you're at my beck and call."
"But I am, and I have no problem with that. Anytime you call, I'll run to you. Always."
Renata sniffled. He was always much too kind to people who didn't deserve it. She definitely didn't deserve it.
"C'mon," the Doctor slid his arms under her body to pick her up.
"Doctor, she can't go anywhere," Zhe rose from her seat. "She won't make it toâ"
"We're just going to take one last trip to the garden." He told her while he settled Renata's body in his arms. "My Renée deserves at least that. She shouldn't die surrounded in a bland old room. No offence."
Zhe rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile. It was definitely him alright.
"She's going to see the flowers one more time." He kissed Renata's forehead and headed out of the room.
He took Renata to the garden in the back, the same garden she would take walks in each day she stayed in the gallery. It was her favorite pastime. Hopefully it could bring her some peace in these last minutes. He wanted to help her as much as she had helped him during his regeneration.
Despite her worsening condition, Renata felt the change of air around them when the Doctor brought them outside. He walked over the blue grass and stopped by a beautiful flower bed he had no doubt Renata planted.
"Here we are," the Doctor lowered himself to the ground, keeping Renata close to him but in more of a sitting position so she could see her flowers.
"Thank you," she whispered, for it was as high as her voice would allow.
"Of course. I wish there was more I could've done for you. If there had been a cure I would've gotten it for you, no matter the price."
"I wouldn't deserve that, Doctor." She tilted her head up at him, allowing him to see the usual guilt that often plagued her. It sat in her eyes like it belonged there. "You have dedicated too much time to me when the truth is I never deserved it. Look at you, I dread to think that you regenerated because of me."
"Hey, that's not true," he lightly scolded her. "You want to know the truth? The truth is we have spent far too many centuries trying to erase what happened between us. We tried pushing it away and in doing so, we built a mountain of lies. But none of that means that I would ever stop loving you."
"Even when I wasn't been honest with you?"
"I don't care, Gala. I love you and no matter what you do, that will never change."
Renata couldn't help but cry in that moment. "I wanted to die," she blurted, immediately reminding the Doctor what the present Renata had said. She'd wanted to die in her last body, truly die without regeneration.
He looked at her with a pained expression. "Why? Why would you want to do that?"
"Because I never learned how to live, especially in this body. I was just so tired of everything going wrong. I thought that it was best if I just...stopped. Forever. But you...but you still love me even after I hurt you so much and I thought...maybe if I survived, we could actually happen. The right way this time. I wanted to live in the end but it was too late."
"It's never late," the Doctor told her. "Because if you put all of your efforts into this regeneration, I'll be waiting on the other side."
Renata brought a hand up to his cheek, gently stroking his skin. "You would want to be with me again?"
"Very much," the Doctor gave her a nod. He lowered his head to capture her lips in a kiss, proving his words true.
Renata welcomed him despite her doubts. No matter where she was, who she was, who he was, it would always be the same old story. She would love him until the end of her life.
They pulled away to share soft smiles with each other but a few seconds later, Renata's hands started glowing with regeneration energy. She groaned and nearly fell out of the Doctor's arms if he hadn't held onto her.
"It's timeâŠ" she took in a shaky breath. "Let's see if this is what wipes the slate clean."
"Good luck, love," the Doctor pressed a kiss to her forehead and then helped her stand up. She wobbled for the first few seconds but she ultimately got her balance.
"I'll...tryâŠ" she flashed him a tired smile. The months of expelling Vortex and toxic energy had finally taken its toll on her.
She swallowed hard and raised her hands to see them glowing brightly. There was a second energy, one that she recognized as the same energy she used on the Daleks and their Reality Bomb. It wrapped around her like a present. She could feel the ripple of pain strike her once again before the energy took her over. She screamed as the regeneration finally began.
The Doctor shielded his eyes from the brightness, hoping it would be a quick process. He couldn't stand hearing her agonizing screams. He tried peeking through the light and saw the silhouette of the energy forming butterfly wings behind Renata. The Vortex Butterfly was finally finding the balance it needed to rest within Renata.
Slowly, the light faded and the energy dissipated from Renata to leave a brand new woman in its spot. It was the same Renata that the Doctor left in the future. His Renata with long dark hair and matching eyes. She blinked pretty fast as she gathered herself from such a process.
"I...I'm aliveâŠ" she spoke hoarsely and touched her neck, her throat specifically. "And I sound younger. Am I younger?"
The Doctor chuckled and rushed to hug her, leaving a bunch of kisses on her new dark hair. "You're beautiful."
Renata smiled and hugged him tight. "Thank you for coming back. I don't deserve you."
"You have got to stop saying that, Renee," the Doctor said with a heavy sigh. "No more of this stuff. I can't bear to hear it."
"But it's true!"
"So I'm completely innocent in all this? I have nothing I should feel bad for?" The Doctor waited for her to try and lie with the answer. She couldn't because she knew that he had some faults in their past.
"I'm sorry," she said in a whisper. "I'm am so sorry."
"I know, dear," he raised her chin up to him. "But this is a new life you have, one free of illnesses. Don't you think you deserve a new chance to live freely?"
Renata bit her bottom lip. "That...that would be nice."
"If you really want to make things better, then just do that. Live the way you want to live. That's all I want from you."
"Wouldn't that be nice?" Renata smiled for a moment. "This is my eleventh regeneration, my twelfth incarnation, and I'm only now going to try and live the way I want to. Isn't that funny? Nearly at the end of my first cycle of life and it's only now where I can try to do something I haven't been since my very first incarnation. I can be happy. It's in my name, actually. Renata. It means 'to be reborn' and I promise that this time I'm going to try and be someone good, be someone better than what I've been in the past. This new me is going to do big things."
The Doctor smiled with her words. He cupped her face gently. "I promise, if you give me a chance, I will do everything I can to add to that happiness."
"But first I have to find you," Renata reminded him. As much as he was the Doctor, he wasn't hers yet. "Where's my Doctor?"
The Doctor was reluctant to answer but he knew that she had to find him in order to get to where they were now. "I swear that he would've came but...he had a mishap..."
Renata pulled away from him, concern etching across her new face. "Is he alright?"
The Doctor wasn't sure how to answer that. His other self was probably on his way to Earth right now to stop the Master from returning. "There are some things I need to tell you before you meet with him. C'mon," he took her hand to lead her back to the TARDIS, only for him to remember something. "Oh wait!" He let go of her and rushed to the flower bed. He looked through them for a couple seconds while Renata watched him in confusion. "This one!" He had picked a beautiful red tulip from the flower bed and returned to Renata. He gently set it behind her ear and admired the sight of her. "Beautiful."
Renata touched the flower and blushed. "Thank you, though I could use a total change of clothes." She looked down at her clothes and realized that they no longer fit with her.
"I've got just the dress for you!" the Doctor promised. He had his current Renata's flower dress neatly folded on the Captain's chair. "C'mon!" He pulled Renata by the hand towards the gallery.

Present Day, Zhe's Gallery.
Renata picked up her golden pendant from her old bed stand and brushed her fingers over it. Her late husband had given it to her so long ago. She never took it off from the first day he gave it to her but now wearing it didn't seem quite right.
"Renata?" Gabby cautiously called her name. They were having a conversation when Renata spotted the golden pendant and suddenly the room went eerie quiet. Gabby wasn't all that surprised. She knew how important that pendant was to Renata, she just wondered how things would change now that she and the Doctor were apparently starting a relationship. That must be what Renata was thinking about.
Renata turned around to the girl. "Sorry, where was I?"
Gabby's smirk reminded her perfectly. "You just finished telling me about this Prisoner Zero fiasco and this Amy Pond girl and were saying how you and the Doctor finally talked."
"Right," Renata said, her eyes drifting to the side as a deep blush room her face over. They talked alright, followed by a good amount of kissing...on top of the console.
Gabby had come to know Renata really well, so she could see the red face from where she stood. "Hey Ren, something you wanna tell me about?"
"Hm? No!" Renata fervently shook her head and exhaled a shaky breath. "Why-why would you think that?"
Gabby set a hand on her hip and stared at the Time Lady for a good long minute. "Mhm. Is this how it's going to be, then?"
"Be like what?"
"Be like that whenever you and the Doctor make out." Gabby laughed when Renata went into a choking fit. "Oh my God! I knew it! I didn't think you were capable of making out with someone!"
"Stop saying that!" Renata exclaimed.
"What? That you made outâ"
"Stop it!" Renata hissed, but the fact that she still had a red face made it impossible for Gabby to stop.
"I'm sorry, I'm American. I should say you 'snogged' instead, huh? Right term for you guys."
"Please, for the love of God, stop saying that!"
"Why? It's what happened, isn't?"
"Well, yeah, but...it just sounds weird," Renata crinkled her nose. It sounded childish and what she wanted with the Doctor would not be childish. "I don't 'snog' and I don't 'make out' with anyone."
Gabby giggled. "But you kind of did."
Renata deadpanned her. "Gabriella!"
"What? Look Ren, there is nothing wrong with having a little fun. And being serious, I am so happy for you and the Doctor." Gabby smiled at the Time Lady. "It was about time. I just wish Donna was still around to see it."
Renata could agree there. They both lamented the loss of their friend, especially since they had become like a little family and Donna was always trying to help the Doctor speak up about his feelings for Renata. If she could only see them now.
"So you guys really want me around?" Gabby inquired after a moment. "You don't want some, uh, alone time in the TARDIS?"
Renata chuckled. "God no! He'll drive me crazy! Plus, I might drive him crazy too. I don't know how these new bodiesâ" she gestured to herself, "âwill interact with each other. Brand new us after all."
"Well, you're already making outâ" Gabby giggled when Renata glared, "âso I think you'll be just fine."
"Yeah," Renata whispered as she looked back to her pendant in her hand. She turned away again and walked towards the bed. She didn't have a lot in the gallery to begin with, but the little clothes she had were now packed into a suitcase. "Did you finish packing yet?"
Gabby nodded her head. "Mhm. Just waiting for the Doctor now. Where exactly are we going?"
"I think we'll be going back for Amy Pond," Renata answered distractedly. Her fingers were still brushing over her pendant. "There's something not right about that girl."
"You mean because of the crack in her bedroom? Not really her fault though, is it?"
"No, not at all. But we want to be cautious and make sure her life wasn't affected by a crack that shouldn't have been in her bedroom."
"Good thinking," Gabby nodded again.
There was a light knock on the door a few seconds later. The Doctor poked his head into the room. "Hey! Are we done?"
"Yes!" Gabby beamed. She was more than ready to finally start travelling again. "But where did you go right now?"
The Doctor walked into the room with what Gabby could only describe as a grim smile. He'd been so happy before leaving, what could have changed his mood so quick?
The Doctor went directly to Renata who seemed to know what he would do, for when he hugged she already had her arms open for him. He hugged her tight and swayed her body. Gabby wasn't sure what he was saying but it sounded like he was apologizing for something. Renata had mumbled an 'I'm okay'. She wasn't sure if she should slip out of the room to give them privacy but before she could make up her mind, the two Time Lords pulled away.
Renata held onto the Doctor's hand afterwards. "Thank you," she whispered to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
The Doctor smiled at her until he noticed the pendant in her other hand. He didn't mean to react at it, but it was impossible given who it was from.
Renata followed his gaze to the pendant and sighed. "Gabriella, can you take my suitcase out please?"
Gabby came for the suitcase on the bed and pulled it onto the ground. "I'll be outside then."
"Thank you," Renata nodded for her to go. When Gabby closed the door, Renata apologized to the Doctor. "I'm just a little unsure of what to do with it." She gazed at the pendant, turning it over and over in her palm.
"It's alright. I know how much that means to you. And actually, I do have something else to give you. It's only right you have it back." The Doctor reached into his jacket's inside pocket to take out a familiar necklace with a diamond hanging from it.
Renata gasped and instinctively took it from his hand. "My Whitepoint Star necklace." Tears came to her eyes as she remembered the horrid day her sister yanked it off her neck to give to Rassilon and establish the link between them and the Master. "I thought I'd never see this again." She turned the diamond around to see the old Gallifreyan names on it; her name, her late husband's name and their unborn child's name.
"I went back to Naismith's mansion when we left. The Assessor stole it from you and I thought I could do a little good. I know how much that necklace meant to you." It didn't matter to the Doctor that the necklace had come from Renata's husband, Elek. He'd been a good man to Renata, loved her, and had almost given her a child. "I hope you can find some peace now."
Renata broke into tears with the Whitepoint star in one hand and the pendant in the other. The Doctor wrapped his arms around her for a hug and kissed the top of her head.
"I don't know what to do with them now," Renata admitted through her tears. "I used to wear them all the time but...it doesn't feel right anymore."
"Don't think that I'd be upset if you wore them again," the Doctor said just to make sure she wasn't making a decision based on what he would think. "I know how much Elek meant to you."
"Yes but it's not right," Renata raised her head to meet his gaze. "I know it's not. It doesn't feel right. I used to wear the pendant because I was a devoted widow...because I swore to myself that I would never move on. But here I am...wanting to be with you. I can't wear them anymore. I...I don't want to."
"Can I make a suggestion?"
"I would like it if you didâŠ"
"I have a room specifically meant for my previous companions, people I have cared for who are no longer with me. You could add these two necklaces to that room, give them a final resting place."
"I like the sound of that," Renata admitted. Elek was long gone and deserved to rest in peace just as she deserved to move on with her life too.
"Yeah? We can do that as soon as we get back to the TARDIS," the Doctor took her hands and closed them over the necklaces. "Shall we go?"
Renata nodded. "Yes."
They left the room without looking back.

"Please visit me soon," Zhe stood just outside the TARDIS with the trio of travelers. The humanoid blue woman was happy that everything turned out fine in the end, only lamenting that both Renata and the Doctor had to regenerate for it to happen.
"We will, I promise," Renata said, taking two of the woman's four hands into her own.
"I still have to continue my training anyways," Gabby chimed in, referring to her Block Transfer abilities.
"Of course," Zhe nodded. "I'll be waiting for you."
"Thank you for everything, Zhe," the Doctor said to her, truly grateful for all the support the woman had given them while Renata was ill. "I will never forget that."
"Me too," Renata agreed. "I don't have a lot of friendsâactually, I only have three friends. Gabriella, Martha and you."
"Oi," the Doctor huffed in offence.
Renata gave him a light whack against his chest. "You're more." That certainly made his face brighten up.
Zhe smiled knowingly at the pair, just like Gabby was. "I'm glad it worked out for you two."
"Would you like to come with us for a trip?" asked the Doctor. "Could be fun."
Zhe chuckled. "Oh no. I'm good, thank you."
"Well then, I guess this is it," Renata gave Zhe a tight hug, thanking the woman over and over for everything she had done in the past.
Zhe was then hugged by Gabby and the Doctor. She wished them good luck on whatever adventure they had planned, because she knew they had something planned. She watched them go into the TARDIS and waved as the box de-materialized into thin air.

"NO WAY!" Gabby laughed almost deliriously when she saw the new interior of the TARDIS. It was nothing like the previous one. She spun around to catch all the bright orangey details of the walls. "This is too cool!"
"Yeah?" the Doctor chuckled as he watched her stumble after spinning so much. "You approve then?"
"Uh, yeah!" Gabby tapped on the glass floor to see if it was strong. "And we get a new glass floor!? It's so elegant!"
"I thought so too," the Doctor hummed in agreement. He then clapped his hands and turned to the console. Gabby scurried beside him, watching him work the new controls. "So, I know Renata told you about the little girl we met?"
"Yup! Amelia Pond, right? Er, Amy? Yeah, that's really weird what happened with her room. You think she's still in danger?"
"Don't know, but I'd like to keep her around to find out."
"So...is she, like, going to stay with us?"
"Would you mind?" the Doctor asked her, fixating a serious gaze that warranted an honest answer from her. Gabby wasn't just any ordinary passenger, nor companion, she was family and he wanted her to know that he truly valued her opinion, especially after Donna's departure. Nobody new had come aboard since then.
Gabby swayed her head as she thought about the idea of having someone new in the TARDIS. "Well...it could be fun not being the newbie this time. I could take some notes and be what Donna was for me. How old is she? This Amy?"
"Uh, she was 19 I believe."
"Oh! She's one year younger than me! I think it could be fun," Gabby gave a firm nod of her head. "Bring her in, Doctor. Let's see what Amy Pond brings to the TARDIS."
The Doctor laughed with her and that's how Renata found them. She had left her pendant and Whitepoint Star in the room the Doctor told her about. She felt a strange wave of peace when she closed the door, like she was finally moving on from that moment in her life. And seeing the Doctor and Gabby so happy and laughing made her feel even more sure that she was right where she wanted to be.

Amy Pond had memorized the TARDIS wheezing on the first night it left her for 'five minutes'. Now when she heard it for the third time, she jumped out of her bed without a second thought. No more pretending with costumes! She bolted down the staircase and into the backyard, almost laughing when she realized it was once again night time and she was in her pajamas! Well, a nightie but it was otherwise the same.
By the time she reached the TARDIS, the Doctor and Renata were already standing outside the box...waiting for her.
"Did we wake you up?" Renata wrinkled her nose as she gazed up into the night, starry sky. They'd been gone for more than a few hours again, she was sure.
"It's you, you came back!" Amy basically confirmed the suspicions. She was staring at them in awe, like she couldn't believe it...again.
"Sorry about the running off, got a bit lost in the moment," the Doctor sent a quick smirk to Renata who rolled her eyes in response. "Plus, we had to pick someone up. But don't worry, brand new TARDIS is ready for the big stuff now!"
Amy looked him over and made a face that didn't quite fit with the usual response someone would get seeing the TARDIS. "You kept the clothes."
Renata laughed to the side while the Doctor deadpanned the ginger. "Well, we just saved the world, the whole planet, for about the millionth time, no charge! Yeah, shoot me! I kept the clothes."
"I did not," Renata gestured to her very gray dress.
"And you left the bow tie tooâŠ" Amy once again made a face.
"Yeah, I wasn't sure how to feel about that as wellâŠ" Gabby emerged from the TARDIS, startling Amy. "Hi," Gabby waved a hand. "Gabby Gonzalez. And yes I agree with you: the bow tie is ridiculous."
"Hey!" the Doctor cried. "Bow ties are cool!"
"Yeah, the jury's still out on that one!"
The Doctor mocked them with a sway of his head. "Gabby, you can go back inside now!"
Gabby laughed and wiggled her fingers at Amy. "See you in a moment."
Amy slowly wiggled her fingers at her even though she still didn't quite understand how Gabby was even there. "Is she...are you...are you all from another planet?"
"We are," Renata gestured to herself and the Doctor. "But Gabriella's from New York. She's quite human...ish." After the birth of the Vortex Butterfly and the Cosmic Butterfly, both she and Renata still needed to run extensive exams.
"So what do you think?" the Doctor asked Amy. Her eyes flickered to him after studying the outside of the TARDIS. It was still as blue as she remembered it.
"Of what?"
"Other planets. Want to check some out?"
"What does that mean?"
Renata smiled at the woman. "It means we'd like for you to come with us."
"W-Where?"
"Anywhere you'd like. First trip is always your choice!"
Amy's eyebrows seemed to knit together for some reason. "All that stuff, the hospital, the spaceships, Prisoner ZeroâŠ"
"Oh, don't worry. That's just the beginning. There's loads more!" the Doctor promised but also meant to warn Amy of what was to come.
"Yeah, but those things, amazing things, all that stuffâŠ" Amy's face suddenly darkened with anger and annoyance. "That was two years ago!" She promptly smacked each Time Lord's arm, getting a sense of satisfaction hearing them yelp.
"Oh not again!" Renata let her head hang. "Doctor, you're seriously messing up my track record!"
"Sure, it's my faultâ"
"You piloted us! On both occasions!"
The Doctor's mouth opened to argue but shut it at the last moment. Alright, so maybe it could've been been his fault.
"So...umâŠ" Renata awkwardly met Amy's upset stare, the ginger woman having folded her arms over her chest. "What's it been, then?"
"14 years!" Amy spat and just a second after she said it, Renata did the same with a weary sigh.
"Really sorry about that."
"Fourteen years since fish custard. Amy Pond, the girl who waited, you've waited long enough," the Doctor said exactly what Renata had been thinking.
Amy's upset expression faded as curiosity took over, as well a bit of doubt. "When I was a kid, you said there was a swimming pool and a library, and the swimming pool was in the library."
"Yeah. Not sure where it's got to now," the Doctor murmured as he had still yet to locate each room that'd gone missing. "I'm sure it'll turn up."
"It better if you know what's good for you," Renata remarked without a hint of playfulness. The Doctor winced and silently begged the TARDIS to help him out there.
"So... coming?" he asked Amy again since she hadn't said anything.
"No!" she exclaimed, or perhaps meant to shout at them like she knew exactly what she was doing.
"No?" Renata wasn't sure to laugh there and then. Amy was obviously trying to put up a front that she was no longer interested in the TARDIS. "You wanted to come 14 years ago."
"I grew up!"
"Don't worry. We'll soon fix that," the Doctor promised her with a smirk, only for Renata to say he would leave her right alone.
"Just be you, Amy Pond," she told the woman just as the Doctor snapped his fingers to open the doors behind them.
Amy was immediately bathed in the orange glow of the TARDIS interior and before she knew it, her feet were taking her into it. Hearing her coming in, Gabby poked her head from the console to see Amy's reaction. It was a whole other thing being on the other side now. Gabby wondered if this is what Donna felt when she first walked in and Donna watched her take it all in. Gabby smiled warmly at the memory of that day, though bittersweetly too. How times changed.
Amy's eyes had widened like dinner plates as she took in the whole room. She always wondered what it would look like on the inside, but it didn't compare to what she saw now. There were no words to describe how she felt, even if she tried she was sure nothing would come to mind.
"Well...? Anything you want to say?" the Doctor walked past her, missing the way Renata rolled her eyes behind him. He had no concept of being modest in anybody. "Any passing remarks? I've heard them all."
"I'm in my nightie," Amy said for some reason then quickly checked herself to make sure it was true. Yes, it was.
"Oh, I've been there," Renata laughed. "But don't worry. Plenty of clothes in the wardrobe."
"You'll love it!" Gabby exclaimed. "I got lost in there the first time I went in. Played dress up!"
Amy's smile seemed permanent at the moment. She gazed at the console with fascination. She could hear a faint hum within it and wondered if that was part of the engines.
"So, Amy," the Doctor called on the other side of the console. "All of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will...where do you want to start?"
"You are so sure that I'm coming," Amy once again tried playing casual and failed miserably.
"Yeah, I am."
"Why?"
"Because if not he'll just kidnap you," Renata said with a wide smirk on her face that threatened to turned into a laugh as soon as the Doctor huffed.
"We're still doing that!?"
"You kidnapped me," Renata reminded him then looked at a stunned Amy. "Yeah, he kidnapped me. Threw me right over his shoulder and dragged me in here."
The Doctor's mouth was wide open in offence. So that was true...but it didn't mean she had to go telling that to everybody they met. "Oi! You're still here!"
"Because I've been kidnapped!"
There may have been a vein protruding across the Doctor's forehead when Renata turned to him. "That was a year ago! When are you going to get over it!?"
"How does somebody get over being kidnapped?" she arched an eyebrow at him, still smirking knowing that she was getting under his skin.
Gabby shook her head at the twoâclearly, that hadn't changed at eitherâand moved around the console to Amy. "So Amy," she pulled the girl's attention away from the bickering couple, "What do you think? It's fun out there...upâ" her eyes briefly flickered to the ceiling to refer to space, "âthere. I've gone to see the Star of Orion and I've lived in a space gallery. Oh, and I got to go into some interdimensional weird information link thing belonging to a Block Transfer Matrix." Amy blinked wide at such a complicated list. "Where would you like to go first?"
Amy bit her lower lip and glanced at the couple still going back and forth about the kidnapping fiasco - whatever that was. "Can you get me back for tomorrow morning?"
"Of course, it's a time machine," Gabby answered, wondering why Amy would be so specific about that. Maybe she had an appointment? "I won't say 5 minutes like those two over there but you have to know that they do try. Is there something important tomorrow?"
Amy's mouth opened but she didn't know how to put 'I'm getting married tomorrow' into a casual conversation. "Uh...just stuff."
"Alright then," Gabby motioned her to get close to the console. "Wanna see something funny?" Amy nodded. Gabby winked at her then took over the controls. The Doctor had long ago taught her how to pilot the TARDIS in case of emergencies. She had the laugh of her life, as well as Amy, when the TARDIS lurched and sent both Renata and the Doctor to the ground.
Serves them right for still bickering when they had a new passenger aboard.
Author's Note:
Didn't I say we'd get to see the previous Renata's final moments? We finally get closure and a hopeful promise for Ren's new life! Will she get it, though? Hmmm...
Okay, so the next chapter is super important for Gabby and Amy and I just now realized that the chapter is 18k? Do you guys want me to separate it into 2 chapters instead? Or give you the whole content in one? xD.
