Guitar (so long as they have a pick to strum the strings with) and drums-#-and piano and other string instruments #wind instruments and brass however they probably can't because you need to blow air into them and haha they can't control air #but yeah! basically if this guy learns enough instruments they can form a 'ghost' orchestra/band #they can literally be the conductor and wave their hand around and let the instruments play music #except it would be very difficult and almost impossible because they have to think about what every single instrument is playing #all of the notes one by one and keeping in time/beat #but they could pull it off #it's something I want to write them doing one day

Wverytime I sit down at a computer to make music I get so scared

#i like siting down with a guitar and writing music but the daw is still so scary to me and i dont know how to make it less scary #its like i dont know where to start #i understand music theory i can write chord progressions i can write melodies but arranging feels so daunting #like just trying to pick keyboard voices and stuff im like overwhelmed and then its like i just dont even know where to start #i think i need to do more covers to practice arranging because trying to do it with my own songs im just like i have NO IDEA #i do think that trying to recreate arrangements of other songs I like will help me but also just idk #i really want to get better at writing at the piano but i find it really hard #rn i write almost all my songs on the guitar then i guess what i have to do is try to think of like what style i want it to have #and sort of try to create a map like probably literally on paper and then try to go in and sort of do it but god its so hard i dont know #it feels so so daunting #even trying to make silly little stuff with just like some synths is really hard for me right now its so out of my comfort zone and AUGH id #its frustrating im scared of the computer but i also very much do not want to be an acoustic singer songwriter but thats all i can do #because all i can do is play fucking guitar!!!! and its just so frustrating #technically im like with a midi controller i should be able to do whatever program drums write little synth lines etc i dont have to like #know how to play piano and yet whenever i try to do it i just get so overwhelmed and freaked out with how many possibilities there are #that i just . cannnnnt #AHGHHHHHHHHHHHH im so im in such a bad mood right ow #ive had such a horrible night honestly #i think i will just go engage in fixation for comfort and then go to bed sigh #i dont know what to do to improve at making music in the daw i guess ill just maybe try again this weekend to take another crack at it #god its just so frustrating that i only started writing songs 2 years ago and have only learned to use a daw in the last 3 months i WISH #that i was one of these teenagers who spent all my time writing silly songs and playing around with a midi controller but i just didnt #because i was scared!!!!!!!#playing the guitar and singing has always been like the only thing that felt safe cos i felt if i tried to actually write and arrange songs #by myself i would fail so now i just feel so frustrated because i dont feel like a real musician and i feel like im starting too late #AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH whatever sorry for using the tags of this post as my diary but #i am frustrated!!!!

#‘print out blank sheets’ our printer is evil #’use musescore or whatever’ ok but i already know how to use drawing apps and i don’t feel like learning how to use a new thing #i’m bad and slow at this anyway so like. only one poison at a time #plus then i can easily rearrange sections or remove them without actually deleting them just by playing with layers #’look for a pre-existing arrangement online’ well you see they don’t make those for people with no friends and who suck at piano #if i want something that’s two-hands friendly (and two clumsy hands at that) i gotta do it myself #peach rambles #i can read music but i’m very rusty when it comes to a lot of the notations or how to actually write it

Think I've finally mastered she's an angel on accordion I'm so happy

#meaning i can finally get through the whole song without going Wait fuck cos i pressed the wrong key #so . so . so many tmbg songs i want to learn but the problem with practicing accordion is i find it hard to justify it to myself time wise #because like practicing guitar working on songs practicing recording is all stuff i need to do to keep working towards my goals music wise #even practicing piano is like i can justify it to myself but i do not need to be learning to play accordion its truly self indulgent #which is Fine because All of this is self indulgent anyway i dont need to be doing anything #i just feel guilty continuing to put off working on songs ive been meaning to finish so i can go play them and like stuff like that #and theres no way im putting accordion in my own arrangements ever that would be way too on the nose so its really just .#so that i can sometimes play tmbg songs and go Omfg this is so fun. which is okay it IS fun #after all why not . why shouldnt i learn to play accordion on the side just because that guy from my favorite band plays accordion. really #i also figured out how to play the third processional from house of mayors and now i wanna practice it til i can play it up to speed but #that feels like such a useless endeavour but isnt that true of almost everything we do in life...so ill do it anyways for fun

so I picked up the piano again after not touching it for a couple of years. I never properly learned music theory – I know a couple of basics, but not nearly enough – and I've made up my mind to properly learn the basics and maybe more. I know I might not need deep knowledge of music theory to learn a couple of songs on the piano but I am unable to half ass things lmao and also I want to properly do this, I think it's a beautiful instrument and it's worth the mental effort lol. but as with learning anything through the internet I'm preparing myself for a lot of confusion before it all becomes clear

#like i dont even have a proper piano it's almost a toy i got when i was like. 11 and decided i want to learn to play #which im very grateful i made that decision but also #i have to get over this thing. this thing of needing to master everything in order to enjoy it #i wont be a pianist. i dont want to. but a part of me is always going to br frustrsted i never got a proper music education #which is stupid and not the point of a hobby at all #anyone could learn to play at any age #and i actually have a good head start #i just. get overwhelmed. by things im supposed to enjoy.#but i want to make the effort to take things slow and play at my own pace #my sight reading is horrible for example it takes me forever to read the notes and i dont know them all by heart #i literally have to count up from middle c with a pencil on the sheet lmao #but also. it really is fun. and its so nice to know i can create this music.#and its gonna give me something to learn outside of uni #which starts in less than a week #so. there's that.#mine.txt

#i dont live with my cousin anymore so i cant play duets with her #but my sister plays the piano so i thought we can find accompaniment stuff or whatever #but she cant COUNT 😭😭#i mean my cousin couldnt either but we practiced and she got better etc #but i fr dont know how to teach someone how to count like..#ive been in orchestras and quartets etc since i was like 10/11 ik boring #i havent been in a while but that helps u count and listen to what everyone else is playing #but when u learn on ur ones u tend to do what u want with the timings ig #idek man i used a use a metronome anyways but i use my foot to count #but my sisters internal metronome isnt on time anyway and it messes ME up omfg i need to get a cello teacher or smth #need to play with someone #🦀

#used to want to learn how to play the flute but rhat didn't work out because I'm bad at practice and I'm not gonna pay money #for something that I'll probably not be able to manage #i used to have piano lessons too but that alsp didn't work out #my teacher ruined the fun part of it for me a little but there was also the issue that I jusz forgot to practice #vut I think not being verd musically incloned just runs in the family here #but oh well I don't nind #mind #I'm actually pretty good at playing the lyre in genshin it's the saddest accomplishment but I don't care I like that I can do that #I'm able to play last lament on a three octave partitur without black keys thats an accomplishment if anything #i can play Sora to utsuro too #just the melodies lf course but thats still something #so actually I play an instrument it's just attached to an application that runs on a sofware #nodnod hehe #Vani🐈#one of these days tumblr needs to save your tag for me really such a bother #i don't mind typing it but thinking about why it doesn't pick up on it is the bother i mean
