zolu: the elaborate, intimate connection of a captain and his first mate, the person closer to a captain than anyone and the person the first mate devotes himself over his own life. It’s the way Zoro gives himself, time and time again to luffy wholeheartedly and Luffy looks for Zoro first (Also the entirety of thriller bark do I need to elaborate)

sanuso: two crew mates who’ve had a special, close connection since the beginning, always touching each other or staying near each other. They’re constantly protective of each other (especially sanji to usopp) and usopp knows what Sanjis gonna do before anybody. (Water 7 had me like 🤨👆🏾👨‍❤️‍👨)

lawsan: the interesting dynamic between two north blue boys who suffered in the north blue. Their on opposite crews so that wall is there, but law also craves someone to love him unconditionally and sanji is the picture boy of loving unconditionally, and he subconsciously wants someone that finds him ‘useful’, or that he matters to them and law fulfills that (I’ll admit I know the least abt them but I guess punk hazard and wano?)

pedrosan: pedro was SO infatuated with sanji, despite knowing him for less than a week. But in that time, sanji helps save Pedro’s country and is incredibly kind to him and his people (outside the perving). pedro even comes along to whole cake not just for the sake of the new dawn he dreams of, but to help Sanji. Sanji is obviously incredibly distressed when Pedro dies (they all were) but every interaction they had was just so soft, and the cigarette lighting?? HELLO?? (from what I remember bc I did a lot of crying in whole cake but I always thought Pedro at least had a huge crush on Sanji)

sabosan: so MAYBEE they’ve never met but they have SUCH similar origins. (Blonde) noble who despises his family’s cruelty and is deemed useless and an obstruction for having MORALS, god forbid. They’re SO protective over their ideals, over the people they love, and their dreams stem from a mix of kindness and personal desire/selfishness, whereas most other dreams we see are accomplishments (worlds best swordsman, pirate king, etc.) . Sanji wants to find the all blue because

It’s the only thing he could cling to in a DUNGEON, it’s a miracle sea (personal desire)

He never wants anyone he can help to go hungry again (and he doesn’t want to go hungry either) and building a restaurant there could do that

Sabos dream is multifaceted but like

He wants to write a book of his travels (personal desire, hurts SO BAD when u think of his relationship with memory later)

The general revolutionary army dream of having free seas without corruption. He wants others to be free of COURSE otherwise he wouldn’t be in the RA, but he also never wants to feel the guilt of his noble past, or see another kid told that he has to hold himself higher than everyone else by virtue of blood. It disgusts him.

sanlu/lusan: a captain and his cook. Luffy adores food and sanji adores feeding people, but beyond that, Luffy is the one who freed him first at the baratie, by showing him he could dare to dream. Then he freed him again during whole cake, telling him he could dare to be loved and supported unconditionally. Sanji ADORES Luffy, and Luffy has said over and over how kind and wonderful sanji is (sorry whole cake had me in such sanlu feels. sanji is stronger than me I would’ve kissed Luffy on the spot)

But then. U have:

zosan: those fights look homoerotic. Like why, as a ‘straight’ man, is ur face so close to another man. He’s ur ‘rival’? Sure buddy. (I say, as a zosan shipper)

acesan: idk man there was NO heterosexual explanation for “The Look”™
