36, 37?
Thanks for the questions, Bunny!
36. The most disturbing fanfiction I've read?
37. The weirdest fanfiction I've read? (the way you depict "weird" is up to you)
Hoo boy. Both of these are going to beā€¦ odd. Iā€™ve been reading fanfic since I was 12 or so, and Iā€™ve gone through a lot of shifting interests and strange phases of curiosity. Being into horror movies really brings out the weirdest but most wonderful in people, but for some of them is just weird.
Iā€™ll put my responses below a ā€˜read moreā€™, since theyā€™reā€¦ yā€™know. My minor followers, I suggest you donā€™t click. TW for gross, very inappropriate stuff.
36. - I was a lonely and confused teen, and I was just discovering the wonderful world of queerness, as well as shipping. I had a game called ā€˜The Evil Withinā€™ that I was too chickenshit to finish playing myself, so I watched playthroughs and eagerly looked into the fandom for content. I found a ship between the male lead, Sebastian, and his partner, Joseph. In a manner similar to a rabid animal, I sought out and consumed as much content for them as I could.
But the fandom was small, and I ran out of good fanart and fics fast. So I started perusing theā€¦ less well written and conventional stuff.
Sat at lunch with friends at school, we perused their tag on a fanfic website I canā€™t recall.
I spotted something vile.
The summary read, ā€œEveryone grieves in different ways..ā€
Damn, yeah, I thought. Joseph does probably die in the game. This is probably a fic of Sebastian grieving.
Then I looked to the tags. ā€œSkull-fuckingā€. ā€œNecrophiliaā€.
I was too stunned to even move after that.
My friend spotted it over my shoulder, let out a disgusted, surprised laugh, and reached out and clicked on it before I could stop them.
We got about a paragraph in before we both got too sick to our stomachs about the idea and closed the tab.
So yeah, probably that one! Donā€™t go looking for it. I certainly wonā€™t.
37. - oh. Iā€™m. I might be too bashful to respond to this one properly / publicly. Again, I went through a lot of phases of curiosity and boredom. And, again, I consumed good content for most of my interests like a voracious beast, especially the less popular ones, and was often left with the bottom of the barrel, insane shit. Letā€™s just say I got to a point where I was too desperate to be picky about what I read, and sometimes I found myself enjoying the weirdest (fairly harmless) tags we tell ourselves we will never click on.
Thanks again for the asks, Bunny!
