anyone remember when a zionist on twitter recounted an incident that they claimed had happened on october 7th but turned out they were lying through their teeth, and even worse, the reported incident was actually from the sabra and shatila massacre? anyone keeping count of how many times zionist pigs rehash the vile, cruel things they've done to palestinians only substituting themselves in as the victims of the story? isn't it remarkable that any evidence of examples of the incomprehensible evil and violence that they swear by to justify everything they've done since october always turns out to be distinctly absent from reports of october 7th, and always present in reports of daily palestinian life for decades now?
#rationally i understand what goes into shaping up human beings this disgusting but i don't think i'll ever fully grasp it#how can your heart and soul be so fucking filthy#to inflict suffering of this magnitude and then project that bloodthirst on your victims#using their very own testimonies to lie about them. fucking how do you become this disgusting#read about sabra and shatila. all of it every gruesome detail you need to know

A while ago, I posted a petition, to stop the closing of a much loved museum, Syndeys Powerhouse museum, a place that's been under threat for years.
I need your help with this once again, (especially if you are an Aussie)
After years of threatening to close down and demolish our only science, tech and applied arts museum, and one attempt to turn it into an events center, they've come back with another plan, which basically amounts to "we're going to clear out the museum and demolish most of the structures inside. We definitely have a plan to put some cool stuff back, but we can't tell you it, but it's definitely gonna be great. Don't mind that a bunch of purpose built structures to display delicate objects are set to be demolished."
(That's an F1 Apollo rocket engine, very rare outside the USA. Almost 60 years old, now delicate, but it's going.)
"We've garunteed 3 of the most iconic items (not their accompanying collections) will come back. Pay no mind that we haven't allowed for where they're gonna go, or that the one object we can't move (rare, 250 year old working Boulton and Watts steam engine) is set to end up inside a corridor)
(There used to be room, elevated planforms even)
"Oh, also, you know that museum storage hall, so close by and practical, with a loading dock and workshops, that's also sitting on prime real estate? We're building a second loading dock and workshops in the main museum! Right where the all classrooms where!"
It's supposedly a heritage restoration, but in truth, it's based of a skewed heritage report which has been heavily criticised as I'll informed, and rigged to allow the place's removal.
Almost every detail goes against the spirit of the original musuem. The orginal museum was a fun, post modern place with a sciencey vibe,
Which transitioned fluidly into historic halls, with historic products and technology to match
The Musuem has an upper entrance designed to be welcoming, full of natural light, and evoke the feel of an old grand train station. This is to be bricked up.
Rather than restore the older galleries, theyre taking several of them out reducing display space from about 15,000m²ish to about 6000m² ish.
The historic halls included restored generator room filler with steam engines. This really put the museum on the map.
But that's going.
All that is going, in favour of
This kind of thing.
The plan to do this is on display untill end of may May 30th, Aussie time. It would help a lot if you (might be only Australians) log on and make a short comment opposing the project:
A lot more commentary on the project can be found at:
@protecpowerhous on Twitter
Or if you cant make a submission, and still haven't, please sign that petition:
The people reporting to government planning will be see it, and attention helps.
#again i will not be mass reposting this here. once or twice. i make this a rule because#there are so many important worthy causes in the world (this one is mine) of different scales#if i post other stuff on here this blog looses its purpose#and it is - and will remain - a special themed gimmic blog posting only the most rational and sensible things you could do as a Tumblr use#this is a no nonsense space with a perfect understanding of humans and what they like to do#oh also some propper tags#museums#Australia#syndey#powerhouse museum

I imagine Vasco and Ludovica have a big painting (portrait but with two people) in Vasco's house (probably his father insisted of getting one of these, people used to do it in the old days, especially wealthy ones). While it's very serious and formal, in the way all these portraits were, it is also very intimate (at least it's implications). I imagine Machete just staring at it sometimes, feeling small while looking at the big painting. And sad, maybe jealous but I don't think he'd resent Ludovica. He, most of all, understands.
.
#I have a feeling he doesn't visit Vasco's estate that often#the situation is crystal clear to him and everyone involved is on the same page#but he can't help feeling like an intruder in their home#it reminds him of what he can't have and makes him fear he will never measure up to Vasco's lawfully wedded wife#he's petty and insecure and watching the two play off each other so naturally still puts a pit in his stomach#he doesn't resent Ludovica on a rational level he thinks she's a smart brave and overall quite likable person in fact#but can't really relax in her presence either#plus even though she's friendly and welcoming she can be kind of assertive and candid and Machete tends to read that negatively#answered#anonymous#Vaschete scenarios#Vaschete lore#I don't think they interact often (why would they) but he could have a distant but courteous relationship with Ludovica's partner#if they ended up alone in a room they might eventually have a few sparse and impersonal intercharges#and maybe feel a sense of lukewarm kinship and understanding even though they don't know each other

Green stans finding their way into the Team Black tag trying to convince people that both Teams end up losing the war - Never not funny.
Please, read the book and try to understand that even though the Blacks didn’t win the way they expected to, they still won. They’re still standing. They actually exist.
The Dance ends with the Seven Kingdoms under the control of the Blacks (since the final battle of the war was won by them):
Aegon III Targaryen
Viserys II Targaryen
Baela Targaryen
Rhaena Targaryen
Alyn Velaryon
Cregan Stark
Jeyne Arryn
Kermit Tully
Corwyn Corbray
Black Aly
Benjicot Blackwood etc.
Where are the Greens in this whole scenario? Dead? Extinct? Cool. Justice. House Targaryen’s biggest mistake, corrected.
So, you TG stans finally get the picture? The Greens are history (not even that, since history doesn’t bother remembering them).

Me explaining in terms of strictly how I read canon I think Nahida not severely punishing the Sages is just meant to convey that Nahida, even when wronged, is not a very vengeful or harsh person and makes the choice to be kind instead, but in my mind I have this idea of a Nahida interpretation which elaborates on that where her self punishing tendencies extend to her being someone who internally downplays her own experiences constantly, and as a result has a hard time feeling she’s allowed or justified in placing a lot of blame on the Sages for what they did to her So while she is following her own philosophies regarding teaching lessons/wisdom/etc in how to handle the Sages and genuinely doesn’t want to be really angry or punishing because of who she is as a person, her decision is also influenced by the fact she’s basically blocked herself out of grappling with how to handle people who hurt her by blaming herself for said hurt instead as a coping mechanism. And like this is all just me being insane about Nahida Trauma and not something explicitly implied in canon but also I really do think this isn’t a far stretch from her canon characterization especially when my vision isn’t to conclude that Nahida needs to be angry and vengeful but she should extend the kindness she shows others to herself and also every day I get tormented thinking about she was the mental equivalent of an average human child when the Sages found her and how they basically specifically discarded her for being a child and the idea of how Nahida would pick up on + internalize that and eventually need time to unlearn it
#nahida#genshin#fern.txt#fandomferns#fictional child abuse cw#anyways is anyone else here normal#see I think a sentiment most ppl get from nahdia’s character is correctly that she is kind despite being treated so poorly#but I want to explore her grappling with Why she does that bc she is genuinely kind#and I don’t think she’s struggling with moving on from things#but based off things she says word for word I feel it’s established nahida is very distressed by not being able to rationalize or#understand things that upset her#this is clear in both her SQs & her voicelines even down to her not liking seafood bc the unknown of the ocean#intimidates her. so I’d imagine she’s someone who responds to being mistreated by concluding#there must be a reason for it. and I actually have dialogue that backs me up here#bc when we first learn the sages have imprisoned nahida nahida herself basically says it’s fine bc her existence has#little meaning and she’s not good enough to be an archon. even as paimon is remarking how awful#the sages are for it and prompting nahida on if she’s upset w them#it’s not that Nahida isn’t insightful enough to acknowledge something as mistreatment#but rather she finds more comfort and a sense of control in having explanations for things#heck the reason she gives up her gnosis to Dottore is states in her char stories to be bc#she doesn’t want the lack of control that comes from a lack of information#nahida leaning on knowledge for a sense of control makes me esp sad when I think abt how#she does not have autonomy or agency for a majority of her life bc of her imprisonment n had fo rely on her#mind n ability to learn n gain knowledge#anyways to reiterate ks anyone else normal

I've figured it out, why I'm always a bit thrown about people defending Blitz this episode. Like don't get me wrong Stolas has not been perfect and has to grapple with his classism/etc. But like, in my head, I've always gone, 'but that isn't the point of this episode/fight/current conflict' but didn't really have the words to explain. But now I do.
Because, the whole point of apology tour (and everything that built to it) is that even if Stolas was a perfect boyfriend, even if they didn't have the complicated power dynamic and Stolas being really demeaning, etc, none of it matters because it would always have ended the same. Blitz would always set fire to the relationship the moment he confessed his love, it's what he did with Verosika after all. It's what he's implied to have done with more than half the people at the party.
Stolas could have been perfect, and nothing truly would have changed. Blitz right now is incapable of letting someone love him without lashing out. The whole prince thing is just a convenient excuse to yell and scream about, it's not actually the point. Like don't get me wrong, there's truth to it, but Blitz is weaponizing it to shove Stolas away. If he didn't have that, he would find something else to use against him.
I love Blitz, but he's a terrible person. His trauma only explains his actions but doesn't justify them. Apology Tour is the episode that finally shoved in his face his fuck-ups in all their glory, and gave him the wake-up call to finally do something about them.
#helluva boss#stolitz#helluva boss blitz#blitz#blitzo#blitzø#helluva boss spoilers#to add this is why in think complaints about not acknowledging stolas's issues in the relationship#in this episode dont really work#cause like while Stolas is in this episode a lot#its not actually about him#this is 1000% a blitz episode#of his grappling with the effect he has on others#theres time to deal with Stolas's problems later#and vitally i dont think they can have a productive comversation about stolas's mircoagressions#until blitz is in a headspacr were he can be rational about Stolas#like hes currently using it as a weapon to shove stolas away which doesnt help stolas actually understand what hes done wrong#tldr blitz needs to figure out his own shit before having a convo wirh stolas about his#oh god that was long ahhhh#(also this is all in good faith if u have different thoughts abour stolas u good this is just my opinion)

Musical Touken Ranbu: Michinooku ~ Hitotsu Hachisu (Michinooku ~ A Single Lotus)
Here we go! Only a few days after the archive release and toumyu's ninth anniversary (congratulations!)
Michioku, or Michihasu, is a myu I have many conflicting feelings about, both positive and negative. However, I do believe that with the right amount of care in the next Mika-related story myu, the negative can still be cleared. Plus, I'm glad about a lot of things being re-established. The writer does need to step up her game a little on the plot-writing side of things, as well as the understanding-and-respecting-past-myu side of things, but as long as she does, this can still be given a proper place within what was already established.
Keep in mind that these are only the subtitle files, timed and tled to the DMM senshuuraku and the bluray respectively. The archive version will have a talk at the start, so the starting times of the subs will have to be delayed accordingly.
You can find the subtitles and my TL notes document here!
#touken ranbu#toumyu#water's translations#michioku#michihasu#how do I put this#seeing as myu's director Kayano has said in an interview right before Michioku that Kogi and Mika have a special bond#different from other swords-- and then they try to speedrun *Tsuru* and Mika having a what feels like it was intended to be#even greater relationship using a song called Kage Futatsu where KOGI'S signature song from Utaawase was Futatsu no Kage???#I SINCERELY want to believe it's incompetence rather than the writer deliberately pulling the rug from under Kogi's feet#bc the alternative is just cruel#I don't particularly mind the relationship Mika and Tsuru have in this play but I feel that not for a moment Kogi and kara respectively#were considered in the writing#anyway my final verdict is that this myu is what too many people think tsuwa is: the divorce myu (between Mika and Tsuru this time)#in all cases I hope myu can bring Shirakawa Yuki in again like with Datemyu just to offload myu's already deathly busy writer (she's done#5 myus in a month before which is just insane) because I feel this just isn't sustainable with the amount of carefulness a long-running#franchise like myu demands and the *writing* quality (not the production quality AT ALL Michioku's is great) is suffering for it.#like sure Michioku is loaded with references but they're references that either don't serve *Michioku's own* plot or their treatment shows#a lack of understanding of the work it's referencing-- for example Kashuu calling upon atsu's “This is how the shinsengumi fights!” actuall#goes completely contrary to the lesson he's supposed to have learned from atsuibun: that swords aren't disposable and that he has duties as#both soldier (captain in atsu) and as COMRADE and he makes the (already highlighted in Michioku!) dumb decision of butting in without#thinking-- and with that framed against manba's breaking trauma as well! He's supposed to have learned to stay rational and consider both#duties yet here he is ---BECAUSE of the reference--- completely leaning on the pre-atsu-development side of the scale#as if Ishi's words went one ear in one ear out. And yes the scene by itself could've worked as a subversion to show Kashuu makes the#'irrational' decision against what Ishi taught him to consider precisely because he cares for the people he's protecting but there is NO#groundwork laid at all for that in the rest of Michioku! This is what I mean with the carelessness of the references and the lack of#consideration for what prior myus were trying to SAY and ACHIEVE which is insane because she was the lyricist for those#it's more a collage of feelings provided through a set of characters calling back to the scripts of prior myu rather than#a story that evokes feelings bc the humans in it walk forward and act upon-- interact with-- the scenery on the road as left by prior human

Inspired by this post (WHICH, BE WARNED, CONTAINS DA4 SPOILERS).
Varric is a writer. In all writing - but especially fiction - you really benefit from specificity. Small details. Individual circumstances. The reader's mind latches onto it much more effectively, that way.
Varric does not see the big picture. He sees specifics. He doesn't see the plight of mages, or the threat posed by magic. He sees his friend Hawke, and what they thought. Where Bartrand saw all of Orzammar, Varric just saw plates.
Varric doesn't believe in things. He doesn't care about ideology, he doesn't have a vision for the world. He believes in individuals. He cares about his friends.
Which is the real tragedy, right? Because the people Varric cares about... they *do* believe in things. They won't make Varric their yardstick for how the world should be. They won't choose Varric over their cause. They won't be content with how things are.
Being Varric Tethras is watching the people you care about turn away from you for reasons you will never comprehend.
#da#speak faust#Varric tethras#Da meta#dragon age#Because this is the site of reading comprehension: I'm not saying that Varric doesn't grasp that people care about the big picture#or even that he doesn't grasp WHY#I think he understands it rationally but not on a deep bodily level#He doesn't know what it's like

It's soooo crazy how when Thornton proposes and Margaret shoots him down like a dog in the street, she thinks to herself "I never liked him. I always acted totally indifferent to him. I never thought about myself and him." But then after they have no interaction with each other for a while after that, she thinks "I miss our antagonistic friendship :/" and then, after that, when she knows that he knows that she committed the unforgivable and shameful sin of Lying to a Police Officer she deadass thinks to herself "It seems so hard to lose him as a friend just when I had begun to feel his value." Like GIRL! The revisionism!!! The self deception! Is the friendship you had with Mr. Thornton in the room with us now?
#north and south#deeeeeeply obsessed rn with Margaret's lack of understanding of her own emotions#especially when she thinks that she totally knows how she thinks and feels and thinks that it's consistent.....#still formulating my opinion but I think she was actually deeply attracted to him and lowkey obsessed with him from the get-go#but that premise was to uncomfortable to consider for more than a pico second so she shoved it deep deep down#and proceeds to act chaotically and inconsistently towards him while thinking she's being very right and rational and consistent#tbf she's very busy trying to hold her family together through tragedy after tragedy using only elmer's glue and prayer...#no time for romantic revelations en esta economia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#Margaret Hale the woman that you are............#txt

rotating in my head failmarriage anidala au where things are arranged the way that anakin doesn't fall to the dark side and kills palpatine thus he finally gains the trust of the jedi council and generally celebrated in the order. but padme gives birth before leaving for naboo and the twins end up being taken to the jedi order (probably yoda doing ngl💀). and once babies are in you can't get them out no matter what. so anakin has no choice but stay in the order to secretly look after his kids meanwhile padme is losing her mind😔 all their plans for the happy future are ruined. but they still love each other and work together as a team tho that tragedy caused a big unrepairable rift in their previously harmonious relationship. anakin takes one of the twins as his padawan. obiwan one day looks at 9yo luke realization dawning on him and he stops talking to anakin for months (until he gaslighted himself he made everything up probably lol). both anakin and padme work to gain political influence during those years and end up as power couple with padme as chancellor and anakin as the next grand master after yoda died.
#star wars#anidala#this au requires some amount of ooc but i love it for the angst potential hehe#regarding rift i mean padme being understandably distraught regarding being separated from her kids until at least their padawan years...#and she takes it out on anakin sometimes bc of envy and his overall association with jedi order who took her kids being triggering#it's not rational but yeah i think that whole situation causes relationship to be very painful for both

I notice Nahida is portrayed as frustrated or scolding of other characters (usually Wanderer) in fanon often but to be honest I don’t think Nahida really has that much of a temper where she defaults to that sort of thing very much….She can be angry and firm as needed but I really don’t think that’s her first instinct on how to assert herself in a lot of cases.
She instead really strikes me as someone who primarily gets upset when it’s on behalf of other people or someone embodying ideas she finds very devoid of care and compassion for others….but struggles to really be angry on her own behalf. Like, it’s pointed out it’s only until she’s actively being rescued that she finally says she’s angry at the Sages, and while she is openly angry then we see later everyone comments on how they seem to have gotten off days, which I touched on in this post and feel u can infer from that this idea Nahida struggles to be harsh even towards to the people who kept her in a cage for 500 years—which makes when u see how much she rationalizes being treated like this earlier on. She ultimately seems more concerned with the Sages mistreatment of her people vs their mistreatment of Nahida herself.
This feels consistent to why she seems pretty visibly disgusted with Dottore when they have their negotiation. Dottore is more or less an antithesis to everything she believes about wisdom and embodies a lot of malice and cruelty that Nahida would be really disturbed by. I personally like to write her lack of a temper in some areas as something that seems almost troubling — bc on one hand she’s very forgiving and kind despite through being a lot, but on the other this seems like it might be rooted in just genuinely not allowing herself to be angry to protect herself. But yeah overall I think unless you’re really causing an issue Nahida is more likely to give you a kind of frazzled sad puppy look and very politely ask you to be better as opposed to hitting you with a sandal or scolding you for it
In the case of her relationship with Wanderer specifically I’ve like, talked about how I feel people overlook the fact Wanderer makes a genuine effort to cooperate with Nahida and doesn’t really fight with her much…so i don’t think they’re often bickering with each other to the point Nahida has to get really firm with him. She seems to have a pretty interesting amount of patience with him especially post AQ, which again I think is helped by the fact Wanderer is genuinely trying to cooperate and she sees that. We do see her ask Traveler + Scaramouche to stop bickering in Inversion of Genesis but she is in my opinion very polite and at most a bit awkward about it, not scolding or irritated
#tbh the way ppl make her scolding and getting on ppl’s case just feels like part of maternal/mom/etc Nahida fanon#which is my arch nemesis. so. JJSNXJXJ#she is not nagging wanderer to do the dishes or whatever he is a grown man etc#I feel ppl want to give her depth abt her history and stuff but default to the idea she has like#secret anger or resentment bc she bottles her feelings up#but I do not think this is what goes on in nahidas brain. I think she just genuinely rationalizes herself out of being upset or angry about#things sometimes and like she Can have a temper but it goes alongside the fact#more than anything she really wants to be a good archon and cares a lot about people and#reasonably had to rationalize there must be a reason she was put in a cage for 500 years to cope with it#ergo this is why why we r told she’s imprisoned she initially excuses it with like#um well they were understandably expecting rukkhadevata when they saw me#and I am not powerful or useful :( so my existence has little meaning#JAKJSNXMXNX#NAHIDA.#genshin#nahida#fandomferns
