1 x 1 Roleplay Plots inspired by songs by Everything Everything
So this definitely isn't a roleplay blog itself (I have no idea how rp Tumblr functions and I prefer to use Discord for it.)
Recently I have been trying to reignite my love for roleplaying and because of that it has given me reason to write out different scenarios! Since my favorite band is Everything Everything I figured I would draw inspo from them!
Album: Raw Data Feel
Bad Friday -Theme: Supernatural-
[Muse A] wakes up on a Sunday morning with a killer headache and little memory of the days before. When they enter the bathroom and cut the lights on, they see their reflection covered in blood. In a panic, they search for any wounds they may have but find none. This wasn’t their blood. Flashes of the night before, of them running in the woods to escape whatever beast was after them, suddenly flooded their mind. How had they managed to escape whatever creature was chasing them? [Muse A] looks at their phone for any clue of what happened over the weekend, only to find a blurry picture of [Muse B] in some kind of mid-transformation. What was their best friend doing in this picture? Why was the last thing they could remember was leaving the nightclub with [Muse B] after ‘last call’?
Metroland Is Burning - Theme: Apocalyptic/Supernatural-
[Muse A] and [Muse B] were subjects in a government science lab deep underground, originally they were supposed to be the answer to adapting to the changing climate…or so they were told. The lab offered 25 grand to each person to allow themselves to be injected with ‘Serum K’. They were the only two participants in this experiment before things outside of the lab went wrong. After 6 months of overnight studies and invasive tests, a county-killing asteroid hits Earth around midnight, wiping out many of the scientists that lived in the area. [Muses] heard the explosion before the lights went off in the facility. After locating each other, their belongings and a map of the lab, they make their way out of the underground building. As they reach the surface the first thing they see is Six Flags on fire. Everything is quiet, no one is looking for survivors. And to make things worse the material in the asteroid seems to cause the serum in their bodies to change their dna. Why was there no warning about the asteroid? What is this serum doing to [Muses]?
Album: Get To Heaven
Distant Past - Plot Theme: Modern Fantasy/Adventure
[Muse A] is magic royalty from an era that is all but seemingly forgotten. Days before their wedding, they get pushed through a portal to the future where there is no magic in use but instead a modern time filled with cell phones, electric vehicles and whatever the fuck Tinder is. [Muse B] seems to think [A] is their date and approaches them. [A] just wants to find their way back to their era and because [B] is clearly of ‘lower class’, it is now their responsibility to help the royal pain. (I realize world wise this is basically Onward by Pixar)
Regret - Plot Theme: Fantasy/Action
The city is on curfew due to an arsonist running loose. Several buildings and trees have caught fire in the past few days. [Muse A]’s face is in the papers as the main suspect and the authorities are searching high and low for them. [Muse B] the leading detective spots [Muse A] in a dark, hooded cloak and against their better judgment begins a chase after them. [B] manages to corner [A] in an alleyway. [A] removes the hood that was previously covering their head to reveal a set of dragon horns.
Album: A Fever Dream
Desire - Plot Theme: Fantasy/Drama
[Muse A] has been raised to hate vampires. To only see them as blood-sucking, human-destroying monsters. When [A] became an adult, they left home to train to become a monster hunter. [A]’s only mission is to purify the world of vampire’s existence and make humanity safer. After training with the League of Slayers, [A] returns home to begin their solo hunting career with their best friend [Muse B] by their side. Things look great for [A]! However…[B] is a vampire and now has to protect their secret from [A]. Will [A’s] desire to put an end to the vampire race be stronger than their love for their friend [B]?

pt III doctor who but I've still never watched it
Hello yes Good Omens mascot here, I am making a DW summary because I'm trying unsuccessfully to distract myself from doubling over in pain after the Good Omens season 2 ending. Here you go:
First off, let me just say a very hearty thank you to the entire DW fandom for educating me during part I and part II as well as my Pinterest research. You have successfully managed to teach me nothing about Doctor Who, but every single last detail of David Tennant's life and family. Please seek help.
Timey wimey.
*checks notes* So David Tennant wrote fanfiction of DW in school and got into trouble, and he married the daughter of a previous Doctor from the classic DW whom he met on set, and he saw an episode of DW as a three year old and it inspired him to become a doctor. There's a joke that David didn't want to return as the 14th doctor but did it just to avoid Michael Sheen getting the role because as we all know the BBC has 12 actors and half are David and Michael who are incidentally glued together. David Tennant adopted his wife's kid and so now they have a total of five kids together. This morning for breakfast David ate a sandwich with one less slice of cheese which is a clue for GO season 3-
The police are rhinos, kind of like Zootopia. They kill people.
The TARDIS is the Doctor's best friend. She came up with a name and didn't tell the Doctor. So they call her Sexy.
Timey wimey.
Michael Sheen is a sentient planet.
Someone named Harry is present in the classic DW. At one point someone else says 'something something Harry' idk and Harry says 'Me?' and the other says 'there's only two of us here and your name is Harry'.
There is a slutty head and it was supposed to be dead but it procrastinated that to see David Tennant.
Timey wimey.
There is a sonic screwdriver, and it is used for very many things, but for a good ten minutes trying to research it I thought it was Sonic the Hedgehog merch. Incidentally, I don't know what that is, either.
The slutty head is pregnant a lot. It sits in a jar.
There is a minefield and then someone is standing on a landmine instead of following the other person. One of them is the Doctor.
The TARDIS expands because it is tired of holding its tummy in.
It's bigger on the inside.
Timey wimey.
The Doctor periodically kidnaps people to accompany them.
Everything is queer.
Timey wimey.
Time Lords are a thing. I don't know if the Doctor is a Time Lord.
Wilf meets a David Doctor and everyone cries.
There are Baby Yoda goblins and an alien named Meep and actually a lot of aliens are there.
There is a literal arsehole with the ability of speech.
Timey wimey.

Wow! Your scifi world sounds realy interesting! Are you going to publish these stories in a book? I'd gladly pay to read them.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thank you, dear Anonymous!
My goal with Greeter's Mask/The Third Ship+ universe is to traditionally publish the stories either as a collection, or a novel.
Truth be told, I have submitted one of the chapters as a standalone story to some very cool sci-fi publications but got rejected! That is totally fine - I will just keep at it.
HOWEVER, I do have another sci-fi novel (Evolution of the Eye) that is complete... four drafts complete - that I would like to see published first. I am actually currently procrastinating reworking the most recent drafts.
I was so incredibly driven with that piece, but, after staring at it for months and months, and because life happened and all that, at some point I simply LOATHED looking at it. It was incredible :D Luckily, it seems that the period of intense hate of my own work has passed, and I am not assessing what's not working with a cool head.
Here is a little snippet/visual from it:
Overall, I hope to continue giving little updates on what's happening with my two main areas of work.
I am trying to finish the “Evolution…” rework this month and to start seeing what to do with it.
And who knows, maybe I will be inspired to do a little more fanfiction here and there to have fun! We shall see!

This month I am using the November Write More Month newsletter's prompt list to try and get on the habit (and as well use the new notebook and pens I bought with the explicit intention to train myself into not editing as I go), and today's prompt for the fanfiction section was to write your characters going through a local, every day situation. It is an interesting prompt, especially considering it allows me to be the change I want to see in the world with regards to writing more modern AU fic that is very localized. But it does come with a very awkward feeling about it that I'm being forced to confront.
See, even though I am a native Spanish speaker, in a lot of ways I interface with the world mostly through English. I trained myself ages ago to think in English as a form of passively practicing the language. I move mostly in the English-speaking internet. The vast majority of my entertainment is in English. For job and education reasons alike I have had to make heavy use of English. I haven't read fiction in Spanish in years, and the ones I have were all assigned reading for a class. And yet to write about a city I interface with in Spanish with this language feels very, very wrong.
For some years now I have felt that I've americanized too much. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being in this space with y'all. And the English language is a very useful tool to get to know the world outside as well as something beautiful and worth to continue striving for mastery in. But maybe I should begin paying more attention to my native language and pick up my atrophied skills.
And it is a terrifying prospect because for a decade plus of being a writer it's always been English I've used. Not to mention all that I have to catch up with in regards to reading.
Anyways, these are mostly just some musings which I'm totally not using as an excuse to procrastinate finishing today's writing session. And with this being my primary writing blog I thought to share on here.

fic writer interview
tem so lovingly tagged me in this and i am eager to procrastinate... okayyy fic time
How many works do you have on AO3?
12 beautiful sweet angels living on a cloud. cloud is called ao3 island. (yes this number is one higher than you will find on my page...) that number saddens me a bit because if i went through old pseuds/deleted fics, and other platforms it's probably closer to 40! but alas. many such cases of deleting my digital footprint U_U
What's your total AO3 word count?
good god i have 145k words of minecraft fanfiction out there. that is so scary.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
at the invitation of any desire: (this one just kind of. blows my mind away that it's in this position because this fic felt like a fever dream)
the first disciple: this is just. AUUUGHH
but oh, the bloom: my sweet sugarplum daughter with many illnesses
4 and 5 are a faint slash of tenderness and you are here to risk your heart, which makes me so happy to see these sister stories together.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
stares at the (184) next to my inbox. blinks. well here's the thing. i LOVE the ecosystem of comments on ao3 and i've always been a big believer in comment writing. however 😭 sometimes i don't know what to say! i feel blown away that people take the time to leave such long, detailed comments for some of my works (you know who you are) and those really are long term fuel for my heart.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
of my currently published fics, no number exists for griefs like these. i'm not a common purveyor of the major character death tag, but it was a little fun and silly.
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
oh god. i've written a lot of bittersweet endings recently, as i'm going through my own works and going sad--bittersweet--sad--bad--bittersweet as i work my way down the lines so... i suppose the happiest "ending" to a fic would be a single pale rose. where it's really just a story of early beginnings (without an ending of its own stamped on)
Do you write crossovers?
i'll admit. a crossover is a hard-sell for me mostly because i have to feel invested enough in BOTH fields of media to really Get invested. unforties i know like 0.6 media so that's a pretty limited genre for me. i've read a smattering of good crossover fics across my years but i'll tentatively leave that in the hands of writers who have that genre of brainrot.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
when i think of like, old-school style fic trashing, nah not really. i've gotten a handful of oddball comments with varying degrees of dismissal, distaste, or hilarious confusion towards the story over the years, but genuinely they're truly drops in the ocean.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
yes i looooove writing smut and raunchy times. i just think explorations of intimacy and trust and bodies through sex in stories is so cool. vulnerability and shame are these topics i feel endlessly, constantly inspired and impassioned by.
there's this incredibly niche range of erotic and emotionally sensual that i love to read/write within. unforties this means i have to write most of the smut i want to read... SAD!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
NO....
Have you ever had a fic translated?
my own attempts to poorly practice translations on my own fics have gone. badly. and also no.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
definitely no <3 i've dabbled in the idea but i'm very individualistic and a bit prideful when it comes to autonomy in my work. i don't think co-writing stories is something i enjoy, but i love playing-off other people with ideas, characters, etc.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
okay, backing up from the mcyt bubble (where SORRY none of these ships really hold weight) all time favourite ships of mine are fakiru, chrobin, bubbline, utenthy, catradora, usamamo, many such yuries. if you squint you will see the shadow of these ships in everything i create forever and ever <3
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
oh man. i've posted two of those unfinished fragment-fics (where, they were intended to be much longer but never took off) in to be wild and the champion's banquet. ultimately there's many more, stories i started in old fandoms that lost their spark, ideas that once tied me to certain creators i no longer support, concepts and outlines that will never get the dedicated time they deserve to bloom.
in total i probably have an extra ~100k of unpublished writing between different unfinished stories, drafts, wips, and ideas (and that's a modest guess, as the last time i counted was early 2023).
What are your writing strengths?
i loooove personification and descriptions and metaphors. i think it's so fun to join words and sentences together via descriptions, flow, and imagery that's different than you might expect. i think i write emotional messiness relatively well (as i looove a little hypocrisy and unreliable narration) and overall i just like writing about people and love and the human condition. PEACE AND LOVE ON PLANET EARTH!
What are your writing weaknesses?
sometimes i do, in fact, get lost in the sauce. i think i've over-corrected for a slow pacing issue by now rushing through scenes, and it kills tension. it makes action/suspenseful writing REALLY hard. you guys have no idea how much i struggled on there's a room where the light won't find you, my action-filled piece for hgcz.
also i HATE titles oh my god. titles we're meeting in the back of a dark room and i've got a weapon
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
so i've kind of flip-flopped here. i was in the camp of "cringe" on this for awhile, and then i wrote light is burning as i am yearning where i used galactic in-line with the dialogue and sort of loved it. the main reason it felt so cohesive was i wanted the reader to sort of lose understanding of what was happening alongside the character. in that aspect, i think the galactic
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
h. hetalia (my ffnet account is backdated to 2010 <3)
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
ohhhh within this fandom, i'm really keen to write gempearl at some point or convex. from outside the mcyt sphere, i have a really soft spot for some older series i loved but didn't have the confidence/prowess to explore ideas about that i'd love to go back and write for. so like personal passion projects i suppose
What's your favorite fic you've written?
god i oscillate on this question so much. right now it's the first disciple simply by merit of recency bias. sometimes i think a story or idea comes into my life to challenge me, and to provide me a mountain to overcome in myself, and i'm finding this story to be an example.
i love writing and talking about stories. my art feels like an endless way to tell stories about ideas, characters, bodies, and humanity: through writing and artwork i hope to continue to be a storyteller.
and now to tag people <3 i'm calling upon the hgcz writer's guild! if you've already done this, please feel free to ignore the tag @mochiwrites @boonbeenblade @theminecraftbee @droidofmay @alicenotalice @kayawolfhorse

"This is getting ridiculous."
Fictober 24 challenge
Fandom: Downton Abbey
Fanfiction
‘Ha! I win again!’ Mary crowed as she slammed her unbeatable hand down on the table.
‘No, you can’t have,’ Tom protested, peering owlishly at her cards and then his own.
‘Oh, but I have! My cards trump yours. There’s no arguing with that. Come on. Get on with it,’ she said gleefully, picking up her gin and tonic and leaning back waiting for the show to begin.
He set his cards down, pouting. ‘But I’ve already taken off far more than you have.’
‘That’s because you keep losing,’ Mary replied, smugly. ‘That’s the nature of the game, my friend. The loser strips, the winner doesn’t.’
‘If I’d known you were such a card sharp, I’d never have agreed to play this game,’ Tom groused, making no move to take anything off.
‘Ah, so you agreed to play because you thought I’d be the one getting naked, did you? Well, what does that say about your intentions?’ she said, waggling her eyebrows. ‘Were they dishonourable, Mr Branson?’
‘I think I should be asking you about your intentions because I’m beginning to suspect they are definitely not honourable,’ he muttered before swallowing a large slug of whiskey. ‘How naked are you expecting me to get?’
‘Depends on how many more hands you lose. Now stop procrastinating and take your vest off. Unless you want to go straight for the trousers,’ she said, leaning her elbows on the card table and looking him up and down. ‘I don’t mind which option you choose.’
He sent her a look then grasped hold of the back of his vest and pulled it over his head, mussing up his hair as he did so. He balled up the vest and tossed it on top of the pile of clothes next to him.
‘There. Satisfied?’
Mary leaned back again, letting her eyes rove over his bare chest. ‘Hmm, not bad. In fact, your chest is quite nice to look at. You’re more muscular than I thought you’d be.’
He raised an eyebrow at her. ‘You’ve been wondering what my chest looks like, have you?’
‘Maybe. Now and again,’ Mary replied, meeting his gaze quite brazenly. ‘Are you telling me you’ve never wondered what mine looks like?’
Tom blushed and busied himself collecting up the cards and shuffling them in lieu of answering her question. Mary smirked, quite sure that she knew his answer anyway.
He dealt out the next hand and looked up at her. ‘I’m going to win this one, so you’d better start thinking about what garment you’re going to take off.’
Mary favoured him with a dazzling if slightly condescending smile. ‘Of course, you are, sweetie.’
‘I am!’
‘Well, if you do, I’ll let you choose what you want me to take off. How’s that?’
Tom flushed again, his eyes skipping up and down her body, and then he collected himself and directed his attention to his cards, a slight frown creasing his features.
Mary watched him, a small smile tugging at her lips as she catalogued all his tells, doubly certain now that she was going to have his trousers off shortly.
Two minutes later, Tom groaned and threw his hand on the table, the cards scattering across the baize. ‘For God’s sake! This is getting ridiculous. All you’ve taken off is a single glove!’
‘Can I help it if I’m gifted at cards?’ she cooed, smiling sweetly. ‘Come on, now. Off with them.’
Sighing, he stood and began to unfasten his trousers.
‘One more hand, Tom, and you’re naked. Totally naked,’ Mary said, her eyes gleaming. ‘And won’t that be interesting?’

@paranorahjones tagged me in this. I'm not usually one for this sort of thing but I've been looking at writing-qua-writing to get some stuff in order so I figured I'd do a little navel-gazing (procrastinating).
How did you get into writing fanfiction?
Oh goodness. I think my first fanfic was for KotOR back in…before 2008, before I graduated high school. It’s lost to LiveJournal I believe, or FF.net. Several things are. They were fine, as I recall. Written when I was a lot younger for sure. I had to write them, though.
How many fandoms have you written in?
To go by AO3, 30 that I would consider actual separate fandoms. Many of those are one-shots, sometimes just odd ideas I had about something I watched or read or played, things I needed to get out of my head.
How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
Must be around 16, though there were several years-long breaks in there. I am a dried-up old woman. You'll never be actually cool until you're over 30, kids, and then you won't even really care, get over it.
Do you read or write more fanfiction?
Frankly, read. I read very fast, I write not as fast, no one writes as fast as I read. For whatever fandom I’m working in, with exceptions, I will read new things and things I liked to help keep me motivated and inspired. As you can see from how many fandoms I’ve written for, I devour new fiction by nature. Verily, I hunger for it.
What is one way you've improved as a writer?
Pacing, pacing, pacing. I write my own stuff under my real name- I will not dox myself, partly paranoia and partly a sense of personal artistic ethics- and fanfiction has been my training wheels especially with pacing. It is the hardest part of fiction to me, something intuitive you have to have a go at until you find the right sense of it.
What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Hmm. I’m not a great barometer for weird. In recent memory, I spent a lot of time walking around every stupid alleyway and cranny of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. I spend a lot of time feeling around in the guts of the fandoms I write- sometimes that’s really what it feels like you are doing.
What's your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
Hard to pick. It’s really nice when someone gets what you’re doing with structure and theme for longer works, but the people who are just struck plan by something I wrote are very special to me. All my commenters are, really. You guys rock. You know what though? The ones who say things like “oh thank God I found this, it feels like it was written by an adult who cares about the characters as people and not some teenager trying to get off”, I like those ones best because I totally understand.
What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
Hmm. It’s a hard life, being a neo-paleo-counter-reformationist, but somebody’s gotta do it (rosary fics).
What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
Crossovers most of the time. I have an X-files/SG-1 crossover I may never come back to because it required me to hold this kind of early aughts sci-fi mentality in my mind for two shows that both sync and do not sync and also isn’t where I, emotionally, am at these days. I don’t like to write crossovers generally because of that kind of thing and, even with reading, most of them are like a food combo only explainable by pregnancy hormones.
What is the easiest type?
Brief character studies where you’re looking at a character’s mindset during events. It’s simple and focused.
What is something that you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
I started many moons ago, but never got around to reviving or really doing anything with, a Halo/Firefly crossover based on the end of Halo 3 that would have replaced Serenity. The crew finds some weird, old salvage adrift in the black…also my Firefly continuation since we’re on the subject, another ‘this is where the story is going’. I wonder if those notes are anywhere. No, no, wait, stop…
What made you choose your username?
I liked the sound of it. I’m Silverheart most places and argentumcor on Tumblr because Silverheart was taken so I just put it into Latin because neo-paleo-counter-reformationist and also, importantly, I am lazy.
Huh, I broke the formatting a bit? So it goes. I'll tag @womaninwinter because now she is double-tagged and this amuses me.

20 Questions for Writers
Tagged by @bleue-flora (I am sorry it took so long it's been like a month I was procrastinating)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
22, because my brain hates to stay focused on one idea at a time and I just have to make everything worse. I've got a lot more half-formed ideas and three-paragraph beginnings of fanfiction too <3
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
124,920 - that's...a lot. And it's only been about a year, so yay!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Dream SMP. I'm lurking in a couple other fandoms (mostly the Locked Tomb and Dragon Age), but I haven't written anything for those yet.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. Off the Planned Course
Not that surprising because it's one of the fics I've been writing the longest, is the longest of my actual stories (so not counting Whumptober stuff), and it also has the most people reading it (I blame including the Syndicate for that). It's probably my favorite too, so the validation is really nice (even if I keep getting writer-blocked by it).
2. Unfortunate Circumstances
Also one of the long ones, so it makes sense that it's on this list. Also, literally the second Dream SMP fic idea I ever had, so it's great that it's still going.
3. Easier Said Than Done
This one I kind of feel bad about - I decided to change a few details a while ago and I'm still not done with editing the old stuff so I can start on new chapters, so I really haven't been writing much for it recently (i.e in the past six months). Maybe this will get me to work on it again but I wouldn't hold out hope. It's not abandoned, but it's still basically on hiatus.
4. Shared Scars
I really like this one, but I didn't really expect anyone would read it because it was just a random AU with no basis in canon about two side characters, y'know? It's just really fun to write.
5. Dive Deep Into The Dark
This one is the one that surprised me, because it's just a collection of Whumptober oneshots that I wrote in like an hour each. But, hey, apparently people liked that, so yay?
5. Do you reply to comments? Why or why not?
Whenever I can, because they're taking the time out of their day to read my stuff and going the extra step of leaving a comment, and because I just like talking about my stories and stuff <3
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Okay, this and the next question are kind of difficult because I am allergic to finishing anything, ever, and that means I have to stick to oneshots, but I'd say either everything I've ever written for a Whumptober prompt (because those are all terrible, basically) or Old Habits Die Hard (Old Reliances Die Harder) because it's an angsty canon-compliant (ish) oneshot where nothing is resolved and everything is just terrible. In my longer fics, I don't really plan for tragic endings, because the ending should be happy even if the journey there wasn't, or else the whole things sad and there's not really any point.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, only oneshots count for this, so I'd probably say burn the scorecards, balance out the scales, because the ending is hopeful and probably the best possible outcome via rivals duo.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Not really, which is great. The most I ever get is a confused comment or someone making assumptions, and that's all fine.
9. Do you write smut?
No, and I don't plan to.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No, but I have some ideas I might write that involve crossovers and I might write them eventually.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, I have not <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but I would like to in the future.
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
Drunz, for sure. It's the ship that really got me into the fandom and I've always liked that sort of toxic codependence even though they're terrible for each other.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
All of them? Well, besides that, I'd probably have to say Off the Planned Course, because, although I really love it, I have no idea how to end that thing or when.
16. What’s your writing strengths?
Absolutely no idea, maybe internal monologues? It's hard to evaluate your own writing.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue. 100% dialogue. I get in my head about if it sounds natural or if anyone would ever say that or if I'm writing a character right and then it turns about clunky because I'm too busy worrying about it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't have a problem with it, but you should provide translations in that situation so the readers have context and know what's going on.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Dream SMP
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Probably Off the Planned Course, there are some chapters were I was just having the time of my life writing that thing even if they were immediately followed by two months of struggle.
Not tagging anyone because it's been ages and I'm bad at doing anything quickly so yeah. Also, it's my birthday today and time is really fucking weird <3

20 Questions Game
I’ve been tagged by @sssammich and it’s hard to say no to sssammich. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am procrastinating on something. Not at all.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 14
2. What’s your total AO3 words count?
348,153 (most of those are one fic – 234,645)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At present, just Supercorp, but I do have an unfinished Wynonna Earp fic in the mix.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1) Home (part of a series)
2) Conversations (continuation of series above)
3) Carterhaugh-Wood Academy (CWA – Fae AU)
4) I Wish it Was Me
5) Kiss Me in the Rain
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely! I try to respond to all comments because anyone that takes the time to read my work and let me know they did is worth my time. I value and appreciate the comments.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
HA. Well, I don’t write a lot of angsty stuff. I am working on venturing into some angst since I tend to lean more into fluffy stories with a few twists. Hopefully I will be branching out into some angst with happy ending type stories. We shall see.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Tough to say…LOL. So far, all of mine have happy endings. I have one that is open-ended because I am planning a sequel, but yeah…pick one. :)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
So far, not really. I did get a mildly rude comment once, but overall, everyone has been kind.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Yes. I’m not sure how I would classify it? It’s not strictly vanilla, but not too adventurous either. At least not yet? It’s a work in progress. I’m still finding my footing in that arena. ;)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not exactly? My fae AU has Diana Prince and Felicity Smoak as secondary characters, but I think that’s the only one that I’ve brought in from outside the show. I’m not opposed to writing them, it just hasn’t been part of any ideas yet.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hmmm, not that I am aware of…
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also not that I am aware of…though I would be flattered and honored if asked.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
One that has been published already – no. I am co-writing one with some friends right now though (@lovesastateofmind1 & @chaotic-super - I'm looking at you).
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Supercorp, hands down. There hasn’t been another ship that has grabbed me by the neck like they have.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
HA – Easy. My Wynonna Earp fic. Unfortunately, I lost the momentum/interest in it and have no plans to get back to it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Ummm, descriptive writing, creating imagery? Not sure.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting too far into the minutiae of things, being impatient with story development.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I haven’t done a lot of it. I used a version of combined Irish & Scottish Gaelic in CWA – Fae AU and haven’t used it much since. It was fun to do though and I will likely use it in another WIP I have brewing.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Wynonna Earp. I was very late to the world of fanfiction and fandoms, but really enjoy it.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
That is a very difficult one to answer. I say it would be a close race between the Home Series and CWA. I think I am most proud of CWA.
No pressure to anyone I tag to answer. Love and light, y’all!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Nobody tagged me I just thought this would be fun.
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 8 but that's not counting Ye Olde FF.Net or the ancient ruins that used to be LiveJournal blogs. Plus, I add to Anonymous Collections works that I think don't fit in with everything else*, and that will also affect my self-reported word count.
* The slice-of-life fic about 13-year-old Jason McConnell's haircut. I wrote it in 6 hours and thought it was lighthearted and fun but if I kept my name there then the list of works would read like: theocratic colonialist breeding-stock homophobe dystopia, if Saw 2004 were a stageplay and my blorbos were in a production of it, 🌼💛🌞 G-rated tweenaged school dress code problems 🌞💛🌼, angst-filled description of Neil Perry's suicide attempt and Todd's abusive ex, hanahaki...
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 133825 but I'm writing this while procrastinating on the final chapter of the latest one, and that's only counting the visible 8.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Bare: a Pop Opera is the main one at the moment. Before that, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, His Dark Materials, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (never published, devices and Yahoo Group long-lost), the book series that shall not be named (pencil and composition pad), and The X Files or maybe I was only a reader for this last one.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Pepper Ghost Effect [ Dead Poets Society ]
Between the Lines [ Babel ]
Trust Fall [ Bare ]
Speak Again Bright Angel [ Bare ], and
The Very Pink of Courtesy [ Bare / Fraternity crossover ]
5. Do you respond to comments? I do my best.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Currently "have a cross to wear but the bolt reminds me" because I wrecked my own ship in the penultimate chapter. I wrote on my outline that I get this ship back in the harbor for the final chapter but when I sit down to actually write that happening ...I end up laying myself on the floor and gnawing on the leg of my desk. That's why I am procrastinating by answering these 😁
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? That would be either Trust Fall or The Very Pink of Courtesy. Others might end happily but it's still a literally war-torn planet/country situation, their friends died, or it's writing hopefully from the inside of a Catholic boarding school, or the characters don't know that they're all going to die in the canon and that's the only reason that they're happy.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really to fanfiction. I have gotten some necessary criticism for original fiction, but it's with original fiction that I have also received online hate that was not at all constructive or applicable. I think one commenter thought I was somebody else or meant to comment on something else entirely, so that's just rotten luck. If it's a general complaint about trends in fics that sound suspiciously similar to stuff that I write, I don't really count that as me getting hate.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have no qualms about writing explicitly sexual scenes. I do gloss over sex scenes that aren't as important to the plot or tone of the work, but that's not always a deliberate conscious decision (The Pepper Ghost Effect not having a sex scene surprised me: my headcanon Neil and Todd in this situation were both so touchstarved and thirsty over each other, I thought when I started typing that "This will be the first fic I post that's rated Explicit" and then I kept on typing and it...wasn't...)
That said, I mentioned before finding the vocabulary for it either medical or vulgar and I don't want to take on either of those tones, so... I freely admit to writing in weird ways.
10. Do you write crossovers? There's a few paragraphs of a W.I.P. that throws a background Fraternity character (fanfiction asexual Osmon) in with the main cast of Mysterious Skin and The Living End. Mallory's in the trunk of Jon's and Luke's car. I do not know why fanfiction Mallory is in the trunk of Jon's and Luke's car. As I recall, that vehicle did not have a trunk?
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Probably by one of those text theft bot trawler things, I heard there was an automated ebook formatting to put up for sale on some website several years ago. I don't understand the point of thieves putting it up for sale when I put the same text up for free and I think readers aren't going to get what that story is about if they aren't already familiar with the source material. I think readers are more savvy than that, than to pay for something that is literally so fanficcy.
I don't believe that stealing an idea for a story is possible unless it's at a patent office. If I say, for example, "Osmon from Fraternity gets into a queerplatonic partnership with Brian from Mysterious Skin" and somebody else actually writes it, then that's not somebody else stealing my fic, because they would definitely write everything very differently. Obviously I'm not stealing from Andy Mientus or Scott Heim either in this thought experiment, because the idea to collaborate with each other Good Omens style probably hasn't occurred to them. I don't even know if they've ever met.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Sadly no.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not really. I think an idea mentioned in passing by someone else sounds interesting, and so I write it.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? Naoto Shirogane and Kanji Tatsumi.
15. What’s a W.I.P. you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? ...Yes.
16. What are your writing strengths? Plot, although I get most complimented on characterization.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Overuse of dialogue, plus I only write when I'm inspired at the same time that everything in my offline life is conducive to getting in that zone.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I've done that.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Put words with intent towards story somewhere outside my head, probably Buffy the Vampire Slayer—but I'm old and it was a long time ago so maybe I'll wake up gasping at 2 in the morning and remember "Detective AU! Blues Clues and Wishbone, grimdark crossover!!" or something, and I completely forgot.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? I like them all equally, flaws and all, because they're done and out there. When they're stuck in my head as vibes or ideas or parts of scenes that have no resolution, I really don't enjoy them.

I WANT THE EPILOGUE!!!
I LIVE FOR THE EPILOGUE!!!
I procrastinated studying for my finals reading ASC.
I graduated from college then my work anniversary reading through ASC.
If there is no epilogue, then the story would feel incomplete, wouldn't you agree?
My point is that you mentioned no one cares about the epilogue, but I am not one of them. Patiently waiting for the next chapter.
Love, M.D.
P.S.: I don't know what I'm gonna read after this is over, reading a chapter every week is a part of my routine at this point. I will miss the consistancy. Any good suggestions?
Hi, Anon!
Thank you very much!
I personally do think the epilogues add more to the story, but I did assume most people weren't that interested in them which is totally fine as I know some people (like yourself) love them as much as I do.
I was going to post early today but apparently fanfiction is down so guess not lol.
Thank you very much!

About the fic YuTae 'Longing or love'
A/N: Hey guys, I thought I should update on you all on what happened to part 2 of the YuTae fic.
I'm sorry that I'm a gaesaekki (asshole/jerk). I know that I said in the reply/comment that part 2 would come out soon but I'M A LIAR, PROCRASTINATER AND I'M SORRY. My bestie has told me that I should at least update you guys on what is going on - so that I don't keep you guys waiting or expecting something for too long! But something as updating and telling my readers what's going on is such an obstacle for me, because I don't really use social media that much aside from scrolling Tik Tok. 💀 Tik Tok addiction is too big, ngl.
Well the number one reason is I just really haven't been in mood to write tbh, even though I'm horny 24/7 and this fic is spicy.
Like I'm just a lazy piece of shit (me) when it comes to reading and correcting my fucking fics, I just hate it and I don't know how to explain this, I've made it a toxic habit to only write fictions before I head to bed, so when I read or write at evening I get sleeply. and associate writing fics with bed time. 💀
Then when I end up writing it's always somehow between 2-4 AM and I re-read it in the morning it's like gibberish and shit 💀
Like my English isn't English-ing 💀
Why do I always create this fucking evil circle of creating and starting new fics and then never updating them or continuing them? 💀 I'm giving myself the biggest bombastic side-eye and I be eyerolling myself so hard🙄 whenever I come across the thought of never updating or continuing any of my fanfics *coughs* TTORW, *coughs* LAB.
I get easily frustrated, overwhelmed and stressed when certain things don't go my way. I'm sighing so hard as I'm writing this ramble of a note or update. Like once I touch the keyboard I can't fucking shut up.
Second reason for not updating is the fact that I'm fighting for my damn love life and I can't move on! 🙄 My stupid crush from work won't take the fucking hint that I'm fucking into him, that fucking bastard. 🙄 Like I like and love him so much but ain't no way am I going to tell him or convey my feelings to him like that. He really thinks that flirting with me privately at work and calling me by my nickname isn't going to let me know that he's totally into me. (I'm so delulu and I know that. But please shut up.🙄)
He's playing hard to get, then he gets easily jealous when I'm joking around with my male colleagues and he is always on his damn phone that asshole! 🙄 Do I really have to make the first move and tell him that I'm into him? No way! Imagine if I did end up confessing he would reject me because he doesn't feel the same or just sees me as a close coworker.
UGH. FUCK LOVE. HONESTLY I'M TIRED, I SHOULD STAY SINGLE AND NOT BOTHER MYSELF WITH THIS COMPLICATED LOVE LIFE. I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS SHIT. Anyways this song is too real and relatable to how I'm feeling about my stupid crush right now.
내 눈앞의 너 보면 (When I see you before my eyes) 한없이 작아지는 걸 (I feel so infinitely small) 심장이 멎을 것만 같아 (As if my heart could stop any minute) 난 참을 수 없어 (I can’t stand it anymore)
This is all your fault.
Sorry for my random rant about my love life. If I'm being brutally honest, I think the main reason for my delay and procrastination of writing or continuing fanfictions is the fact that I only write fanfictions when I genuinely want to and have the actual energy to do so.🤷♀️
When I do write it is extremely important that I'm having fun or enjoy the time I'm writing. I hate it when my hobbies suddenly or slowly turn into obligations or chores that I 'must' complete.🕴
After all, writing fanfictions is a hidden passion and hobby to me, I don't write to gain popularity or to build a fanbase, I just like the idea of fantasizing, writing feelings, making unsual or exciting plots and and creating fake scenarios within the Kpop fandom. I post what I think would be a fun or entertaining piece of work to read through. I don't write and post fanfics to gain clout or expect 5K notes on each fic. (Not that it is wrong if you write fanfictions for that reason, to each their own💗)
I also like the idea of making Y/N more diverse or unique, as someone who is of South East Asian descent, I like making Y/N Asian or mixed Asian. I love creating chaotic, funny or relatable Y/N moments to my fellow pocs or even non-pocs.
Lastly, I want to say a huge thank you for reading my fanfictions despite the fact that I don't update them. I want to thank you for scrolling/skipping through my fics just to read your favorite parts or certain lines, even if it's for the small parts that you enjoy in my fics.
I highly appreciate the fact that people even come across my fictions. Even if you don't end up reading through the whole thing, I am super thankful for you just taking a look at it or even saving it in your drafts. Thank you for the likes, comments and support for my fanfictions. Thank you for your patience and kindness.💞
Sorry for rambling, anyways I had to explain myself for delaying my fic and I have probably repeated myself multiple times, sorry. As soon as I've posted this author's note, I will take a look at (Lol aka longing or love) and try to check what I'm missing and try to write on it. Sometimes you just run out of inspiration and that's okay too, but I hate keeping people waiting so I'll look and work on it little by by little.

What remains of family Hwang part 1
a stray kids fanfiction inspired by the game "What remains of Edith Finch"
Description: Chan is a producer living in Melbourne that's currently suffering from a serious case of writers block. He stumbles upon an antique shop where he finds a journal and a key, these two objects send him off on a trip where he learns the unfortunate history of family Hwang.
(Readers can insert themselves as the character "Jin" who isn't decribed physically and are referred to by they/them pronouns, also I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes that I am bound to make.)
Chan would describe himself as quite a hardworker, he doesn't like procrastinating and wants to get things done days ahead so he doesn't have to worry about them later.
He's also quite good at what he does if he may so humbly add, so why in the name of god can he not come up with this beat? Sure he had started a few times but those were scrapped so fast since they felt so half-assed and Chan knows he can do better than that. The man swears that he can actively feel grey hairs appearing, not that they would be there for long since at this point he is so close to ripping it all off of his scalp.
"All right, enough!" He yells out in defeat, his voice ringing througout the walls of his home studio. He gets up from his shackles in the disguise of a comforting chair and stomps on out of the room, any longer in there and he might just stress cry and once he gets to that point his label can forget about the song.
He decides to have a nice, relaxing walk through the city, breathe in some of that totally fresh air. The sun shines brightly and very unwelcomingly for people whose wardrobe consists of various shades of black like Chans, curse him for thinking that nature would be kind to him. After strolling about for some time it starts to get way to hot to function and Chan is nowhere near his home, in search for his precious a/c he spots an antique shop which he deems good enough for his safe spot.
ringing of a bell sounds throughout the small shop signaling whoever works here that a customer has entered. The place is cluttered with dusty trinkets that vary in sizes, some shiny, some rusty, some a bit cracked and broken, all of them worn out by time.
While it all looks so messy and the dust is starting to tickle chan's nose, in some strange way he finds it comforting. What stories do these objects hold? What were the people that owned them like? How did their things end up here and would they be happy with it?
As he wonders all of this, walking around the shop he locks eyes with a book and a key next to it. Coming closer he reads whats written on the covers, "Hwang Jin".
"That's who the journal belonged to."
Chan jumps at the frail voice coming from behind him, his eyes meet a pair of dark glassy ones. "Hello dear, I'm Jasmir. Me and my husband own this lovely shop, if you need any help or questions please do ask."
The woman smiling up at him is an older lady with wrinkled tan skin and greyed hair covered with a shawl. Chan returns the smile and asks about the journal, "it was given away alongside that key by who we assume is a relative of the author, It's not exactly an antique but we still decided to keep it."
Returning his eyes back at the book he takes it into his hands, draging his thumb along the leather binder and rereading the name of the previous owner before taking a look at the key.
He thinks for a moment before nodding and turning towards Jasmir. "I'd like to buy the journal and the key."
after that transaction he heads home, this might help him with his writers block and even if it doesn't it should still be interesting to read traces of another persons life.
Once inside his home he sits at the sofa secured in his living room, setting the key at the coffee table and opening up the journal.
The first page starts with a dedication: "to my dear little brother Jeongin, remember you're not alone and that the people I've written about in this book are watching over you."
Small doodles can be spotted in the right corner of the page bringing a smile onto Chans face as he continues, flipping onto the next and being met with a family tree spanning throughout the two pages.
"The Hwangs"
Small portraits expand along the branches together with names and years that they were all born and died at, all except the two at the very top.
Jin 1985 - 2007
Jeongin 1990 -
This intrigued Chan, what happened to those two? Jin seems to have a death date but why was it scribbled over? And Jeongin could still be alive and well, how interesting.
Chan was stuck on this page for a while thinking of all the possibilities while also taking in the other family members, some of them died quite young. All of those faces smiling at him, drawn or not started to creep him out a little bit so he went to the next page.
On the right page there was text and on the left a detailed drawing of a big house, it appears as if they just kept building up giving the house an unsafe looking tower. Under the drawing was an adress, prompting Chan to get his laptop and search it.
it came up on google with pictures of the actual house which greatly resembled the drawing found in the journal, with the photos along came news articles on the family that lived there. Yet again he was met with the same family name "Hwang" as if haunting him, his eyes still stuck on the photos of the house.
it's located on French Island and no one currently lives there, last person that did was an old man named Hyunjin in the year 2000. After him it was abandoned, some people want it to be taken down since it's scaring children and tourists and they deem it unsafe, just waiting for it to fall apart.
There are also some other people that want it to stay untouched, claiming that the family which once lived there and the house itself mean a lot to them. While eccentric they were friends, they were welcoming and a big part of the community, without the house it wouldn't be the same and the memories it holds would be teared down as well.
Now a sane person after learning everything he just did would think "neat" and move on, but chan is currently not feeling all too sane and is instead finding milions of excuses as to why is would be a good idea to go there.
Like how he works from home so he doesn't need to worry about missing his work, or how this could possibly ressurect him from his mind numbing writers block.
And so he decides that, yes. He should totaly go to that house and posibly commit breaking and entering… Chan shakes his head at that thought. "it's not breaking and entering, I have the key."
With his head spinning in thought, Chan packs his duffel bag as if he's going on a lovely little camping trip and not losing his mind. Which he's not! Chan is just fine and only doing research on a very unique Korean-Australian family, his parents would be proud of their child for taking interest in something like that if they knew what he was up to. Totally.
And once he's ready, Chan gets behind the wheel of his rustic car and mentally prepares himself for a two and a half hour drive... "This is fine, it's for research." he reasures the angels on his shoulder, before the little demons fully take over.
The end, for now
next chapter
That's it for the first chapter, a bit short I know but they should get longer as we get more into the story. All in all I'm happy with his it came out, I hope you've enjoyed it too.
Also fun fact Christopher is the name of Edith jr's son (Edith is the main character in the game)

Random Writing Question (inspired by my lack of writing today, haha): What's a setting or plotline you keep procrastinating on? What do you think is keeping it from getting written?
A delightful random question, thank you! I hope you're able to write when you are ready ☺️
It's not so much a setting plot, but I have been procrastinating just.... The entirety of Paragon. Arguably, I've been procrastinating it since 2020.
I think the reason is because it's completely original and that freaks me the fuck out because that means everything in it is mine and I am solely responsible and I have nothing to go off of. This terrifies me, so I stick to fanfiction :)
I keep telling myself I'll finish Paragon some day. We'll see if that ever happens.
This ask motivated me to write 528 words for Home is Where Your Light Shines Brightest.
Experiment Total: 56,737
#ask and you shall receive#faithfire#zac speaks#writing#writeblr#my wips#paragon#the great motivation experiment

🦉Positivity owl reporting for duty! This was sent by a friend who wants you to smile as much as your posts make them smile. Please list five things that make you unique, four things you are super passionate about and why, OR three of your favorite memories. Feel free to send the owl to those who you feel deserve to smile🦉
Aw thanks! Four things I am passionate about:
Critical Role. Obvious answer is obvious, but I really do love this show. I don't think any other media has inspired me like this show has. I discovered it when I was still kind of new to d&d and watching cr has helped to make me feel more confident in my roleplay and being a player in general. My 5th anniversary of being a critter was just a few months ago. Time flies!
Shiro. Years ago I would have said Voltron (VLD) was one of my favorite shows. While I still enjoy some parts of it, the final season really turned out abysmal. Shiro, one of my all time favorite characters was sidelined and terribly msicharacterized. I don't subscribe to many fandom conspiracy theories, but I totally believe in the one that vld s8 was supposed to be a lot different than how it turned out. I think it's because I loved the show so much that I still care about the truth behind the changes.
On that same note, Sheith is one of my most beloved ships, featuring Shiro as one of the characters in it. My adoration did vanish for a while, but rediscovering my love for the pairing has been fun. It's also reignited that desire to know the 'truth' behind s8, because there's so many things about it that just don't make sense.
The Environment. I've always liked nature as a kid, even when at times I was uncomfortable with it. The danger and the unknown. Learning about the environment and how we are failing it only inspires me to push forward, help save it. I want to do my part in preserving and allowing our home to flourish like it should be.
Writing. I didn't think about writing for fun until middle school, but that's when I discovered fanfiction. I've also been an avid reader since a young age, so many interesting worlds have been created and I find it fascinating. I love to create worlds and characters that fit in those spaces. Since 2021 I've found the courage (I procrastinated heavily due to anxiety) to finally post my writing onto ao3. Ever since, I've been writing when I can.

Hello! I'm Newt or Dani, whichever you prefer! Pronouns are she/her but they/them works as well.
I like to write fanfiction when I feel like procrastinating working on my novel. I post all of my works either on my personal ao3 (newtsdaisies) or the account I share with my friend on ao3 (wonderwriters). If you see any of my works elsewhere please let me know.
I like a lot of fandoms, am a total Greek mythos nerd, and am currently obsessed with EPIC and Hades I & II.
Feel free to use this blog as a means of communication with me about any of the fics I write. I'll be using this tumblr as my main means of giving status updates, asking for opinions, and whatever else this turns into.
Below you can find some helpful links and a list of my current WIPS and get a loose idea of how frequently they're updated.
