Just me going feral over Type 8 Katsuki and Type 9 Izuku, who at their worst can be abusive but at their healthiest are perfectly balanced, you are a genius

(I love the enneagram, it’s the only personality test I ever took that made sense and helped me understand myself and those around me better)

AHH yessss!

Any type combo has the potential to be really well-balanced or unbalanced and "toxic," and with these fictional characters it's all up to personal interpretation how you type them,

BUT what's special to me about 8x9 bkdk is that these types appear to be such polar opposites on the surface, yet in the Enneagram chart they are right next to each other. This means they have the capacity to understand each other on a deeper level as they play off of and take on each others traits very freely. AND! This is the kicker! They're both in the same center! These are groups of three that share some common themes. 8, 9, and 1 are in the instinctive/body center, with the dominant emotion of anger, each dealing with it in their own way. It all fits very well into Izuku's whole "image of victory" thing.

It also speaks to the the earlier stages of their relationship, how an 8 can mistake a 9 for someone who ought to be beneath them, but then be surprised by how strong and resistant to control a 9 actually is. Meanwhile a 9 is still capable of great patience with an 8, and in seeing through their defenses, they admire and aspire to their level of energy. On top of that, the proximity and center of 8 and 9 also explain how their way of working things out has manifested in a lot of frustration/yelling/fighting combined with an inexplicable magnetism.

Everyone is freaking out. The titan tower was broken into, no signs of who it was, and Tim- Robin- is missing. There’s blood on the walls, taunting them, implying that Tim is going through agony, and they can’t deal with another dead Robin, they can’t- 

Meanwhile Tim is bemused, maybe a little concussed because that would explain things maybe, as he’s found himself in a living room full of books and there’s a pair of kids too? One is straight up adoption bait- wait no there’s three, with two of them being adoption bait and the third being a redhead. There’s a trio of small children there already playing by the couch he’s been bundled into. 

Where the heck is his mask- or his bo staff or any of his supplies- is that the fucking Red Hood?! No, couldn’t be, must be the concussion, because why would the Red Hood be feeding him a bowl of soup?

Oh hey what about a groundhogs day event where the hero has to relive their traumatic “One Bad Day”-esque backstory but it’s another hero they either know really well and the only way to break the loop is letting that horrible event happen

Bc I’m basic my first thought was “Oh, this would absolutely tear up anyone having to walk down crime alley knowing way too well what’s about to happen”

But I’m also obsessed with my blorbo so my other thought was “Omg lol, imagine if one of the adult heroes ended up in Billy’s body just before his parents left to go die on their dig and think maybe they can save their co-worker the tragedy he faced so young only for every attempt they succeed at getting them to stay keep the loop going and they realize they have to let them go and doom this kid all over again. Haha, extra points if the loop actually lasts from that point to them actually dying so they wake up the next day thinking they failed again only for it to be tomorrow and suddenly Uncle E gets the call that his brother and sister in law are dead and then whoever is in Billy’s body is getting thrown out with a suitcase realizing maybe the nightmare is going to last longer.”

i like the mostly fanon angst of bruce being a bad, or at least emotionally distant, mentor during tim's earlier robin years... but i think we're missing on the potential angst of the canon way bruce started as a careful, helicopter parent mentor to this gremlin that choose him, how they bonded over their shared grief and loneliness and mirror-narratives, until a number of tragedies (clench, no man's land, knightfall, later even red hood) pulls them apart, as bruce becomes bitter and paranoid and distant (tim's "birthday gift"), and tim has to deal with the weight of he as robin not being enough to keep bruce from darkness

like, when he goes in the brucequest, is he filled with doubts? does he ever ponders if bruce being away is better? when he brings bruce back, and sees him closer to what he was in the beginning of his partnership, but he is no longer his partner, and they no longer talk as they did....

and then damian dies and there he goes again, bruce's partner, bruce's crutch, does he ever looks in the mirror and sees bruce there?

OKAY!

So it's still in it's infancy right now, but the idea is that Bruce is a Backrooms entity who sometimes wanders the darker areas of other levels. It's the equivalent of him going on a walk whenever Alfred tells him to go outside.

The batkids are wanderers, specifically kids who have no-clipped into the backrooms and into various levels at various times. Actually have a lil blurb of Bruce's behavior according to other wanderers

  "While normally neutral towards any wanderers and a majority of other entities, it will become hostile the moment it is attacked. Batman will not become hostile immediately if aggression is shown, and may be made to retreat to darker areas if there are too many aggressors present."   "If you see it wandering it is best to stay out of its way. Only approach if you are in danger or another entity is pursuing you. Most entities will avoid entity (??) if they can and may stop pursuing you."    "A different behavior is noted towards those under the age of eighteen (though may be up to nineteen) who are not with a group. If it spots an unattended minor, it will purposely approach, even in an area with large amounts of light, and attempt to coax the child closer."    "It will then pick the child up, and retreat into the shadows, after which it may not be seen for months at a time. It is unknown what happens to the child."

Now what happens is Bruce sees a child, either actively in danger or all alone, and gently coaxes them over where he can make sure they're safe. And well, most levels are definitely not, so he'll pick them up and use the shadows to slip back to his home level. Which is pretty much Gotham, with two sublevels. One which is the manor, but very liminal and actively shifting around and is straight up controlled by Alfred, who is also an entity. Just one that looks completely human. But is immortal. The other sublevel is pretty much the Batcave systems and has so many exits to so many different levels.

But he'll bring them home to the manor. And well, it's the Backrooms, chances are they don't exactly have a caretaker. So he just kind of... takes them in.

But again, it's the Backrooms. People become entities. Hounds if they get bit, Wretches if they get too exhausted and starved and dehydrated. That's not exactly the case on Level G and it's sublevels.

Not that Alfred would ever let any of his wards be anything but well fed and rested.

So the children usually don't exactly stay human, just like how Bruce didn't stay human when he first fell down into the levels. It isn't exactly noticeable to them at first, but it happens.

And well, again, the backrooms aren't exactly safe, nor are there easy access to food or water, while with Bruce and Alfred there is. They get three meals a day, alongside snacks whenever, and their own rooms, and Bruce brings them knickknacks from other levels too! So why would they want to leave?

Though again everything is in the very early stages of figuring things out lol

something about characters who never ask for help; never ask for anything for themselves, and the slow build to them experiencing an inescapable loss of something or someone, which is really just an overpowering burden of the heart, which is really a loss of control, which is really just a set up for something they can no longer handle, cannot drag it forwards any longer, being pulled backwards now by a force too great to offset alone, and really, they didn't actually want to be alone, did they, but they will be again soon, and they are helpless to change this, and now all they can do is ask or beg or plead for someone, anyone, who might be able to help them or prevent this loss, where they could not. maybe this final plea is really just a vocalization of what they actually wanted or needed all along. maybe it's too late now. i'm biting things

Okay so my idea is Vox was an omega in life and hid it because he wanted to be a producer and at the time omegas were rarely allowed such autonomy and freedom. So when he dies, he just naturally falls back into his pattern of hiding his nature, especially because he knows he wants to be an overlord and another enterprising demon could take his power if he mated with the wrong person.

At first, Vox hated being an omega, but as the years went on, he realized what he actually hated was the constrictions Earth's society had put on him and he began to feel more comfortable and assured in his designation.

When Vox feels comfortable enough to start exploring his sexuality and possibly having partners for his heats, he drafts an NDA that all his potential partners have to sign so his secret can never get out. It works great and Vox learns what he likes and doesn't like and his secret is secure.

When Valentino approaches him for a partnership, Vox is already established as a small time overlord. Valentino flirts relentlessly but Vox remains completely professional until one day Val comes into work to find Vox leaning on his desk with paperwork of some kind. Vox tells Val he just needs his signature real quick and so Val signs it without reading. As he finishes, the contract glows and disappears and Vox grins before pouncing on Valentino and kissing him ferociously.

They fuck like crazy for the next week while Vox rides out his heat. Val was shocked to discover his business partner was an omega and a wicked lay but he was most shocked when he tried to call Vox his little omega and found himself saying "my little beta" instead.

Vox smugly informs him that he'd signed an NDA and that he was bound by it for the rest of eternity, but that if he played nice, maybe Vox would let him spend his next heat with him again. So every year, about a month before Vox's heat, Val rolls out the red carpet just so he can have the pleasure of being Vox's heat partner.

Vox will never tell Val, but after their first time together, he'd decided he didn't want anyone else. Nevertheless, it's good to keep Val on his toes-and he likes being showered in gifts.

OUGHHH wait oh my god this is honestly pretty fucking genius . i love this idea soo much and its actually so fun i love twists on a/b/o even though i myself typically pivot to more rigid dynamics. the idea that vox likes to NDA people he sleeps with is SOOO fucking funny and im now imagining a situation where valvox eventually start wanting more than their current situationship and vox in a show of trust nullifies the contract and NDA for val only, even though val still doesnt breathe a word of voxs secondary dynamic unless vox says its all good because hes just That Whipped 😭😭

theres also a crazy amount of potential angst here that i feel i should point out with the idea that perhaps voxs aversion from revealing his actual dynamic stemmed from past unfortunate memories in life + even what led to radiostatic breakup if we're following canon timeline here . like the idea that vox first revealed his dynamic to alastor and then al in his typical "I Have Never Interacted With Another Human Being Before" manner proceeded to use it against him and then broke voxs trust forever (<- you can tell i never got over the twist in freak-a-zoid) and now vox is learning to get over that wirh val... Aough. i dont know i think staticmoth can be sooooo cute sometimes
