everybody draws Piper showing skin. half the time Shel as well. literally almost EVERYBODY. go look at Piper fanart. is she wearing a crop top? i bet she is. or if she's wearing a dress hers is gonna be one of the most revealing. bonus points if they gave her a belly button piercing. and it's almost always only Piper and/or Shel. i thought we had a whole discussion about sexualizing young indigenous girls back in like 2021 but i guess nobody processed that part cause pjo fandom acts like if they dont have Piper show her stomach or have her shirt ride up they'll die.

say it with me everybody: personal health is completely immaterial to morality, including mental health. leading a mentally unhealthy lifestyle (or what you perceive as a mentally unhealthy lifestyle) does not a bad person make. no one has to socialize, exercise, have healthy coping mechanisms, or lead (what you perceive as) a fulfilling life with fulfilling hobbies in the same way that no one has to go to the doctor to get a broken bone reset. both of those types of management of personal health are likely to be beneficial to the individual, but they are in no way moral requirements or debts owed to society. they do not actually say anything about a person's principles, personality, or actions towards others. additionally, people know themselves and their own situations better than you do. maybe a person judges that the physical and financial toll of going to the doctor outweigh the benefit of getting their bone reset, maybe a person just does not have the capacity to develop healthy coping mechanisms at this point in their life, and yes, maybe a person feels like they are totally fulfilled by "media based" hobbies alone and would feel no difference in their life if they picked up a loom. just like. let people be sick without accusing them of being representative of the lazy, degenerated state of modern society.

never understood why jack had a portrait of moxxi up in his casino. the place went under after BL2, and at that point they hadnt been together for years. and its not like what they had together was particularly happy or long lasting, either. they were together for maybe a month before breaking up pre-TPS, and thats not even mentioning what happens between them during the game itself, so... maybe its a trophy? it doesnt feel like one when theres also one of angel. but its all i really got because presumably hes been in a much happier relationship with nisha for years, even though the portrait does feel too sentimental for a woman hes hated for the past Forever. speaking of nisha, there's no portrait of her or his wives. which is doubly weird because surely theyd be here too if moxxi is. idk, moxxi and angel are just a strange pair to have it just be them. by themselves is fine, moxxi alone is easily a trophy. and imo its just weird for a portrait of angel to be in the casino in the first place. some secret siren, huh? but together? idk. it gives mixed messages.

Aka I give her the bronze eyes back, and I (unfortunately) suck the melanin out of her. u_u It's not my fault, that's how she's described in the books (even tho I do like the darker skin)! It's so weird they swapped the eye and skin colors on which was lighter/darker.

Yet they kinda got Hei-Ran right with her color palette (brown/bronze eyes and porcelain skin too), but then you put her next to Rangi and the contrast is just insane like???? Did they forget that they were suppose to be so similar to look like twins? TT0TT

Every time the rat and I talk to each other about Transformers, some new AU or canon divergence comes into existance.

The latest of which is a Breakdown redemption for Transformers Prime that involves Breakdown taking most of Smokescreen's plot and screen time whilst making Smokescreen besties with Ultra Magnus.

Allow me to explain:

Breakdown properly switches sides somewhere during or shortly after Crossfire, or sometime around Toxicity for that nice replacement thing with Breakdown instead of Smokescreen. He gets to have his whole redemption arc, things happen, Darkmount happens, and Breakdown is the one left trying to save Optimus. (He also has the phase shifter at this point)

Now, you may be asking, "Where is Smokescreen?" And boy let me tell you!!

For this all to work, Smokescreen has to remain in the Iacon Hall of Records for just a little bit longer. For you see, after Alpha Trion knocked him out, he was sequestered away somewhere where he could remain hidden and escape on his own. This did not happen.

What did happen was one Ultra Magnus, just about to leave Cybertron, comes across the rubble of the Hall of Records. He scours the area for a short amount of time, hoping there's some supplies, relics, or energon he could use for the long journey to who-knows-where. He comes across none of the above. He does, however, find one passed out, rather young-looking Elite Guardsman. Magnus grabs the kid, takes him to his ship, and the two leave Cybertron. The planet's dead, Iacon had fallen, there was nothing left for them here.

So now Ultra Magnus is in space with an unconscious kid. Not for long, as Smokescreen does wake up rather quickly. Explanations are had, and Smokes discovers the fall of the very place he was supposed to be protecting. Magnus hears Smokescreen's side of the story as well. (Certain things aren't adding up, but he isn't sure exactly why. His best assumption is that there was a Con on the inside who knocked the kid out before the Hall was attacked.)

And so begins the very, very long journey through space.

I have so many ideas for this and so many fun things that happen. Not only do I love a good Breakdown redemption, this one isn't at the cost of Smokescreen. In fact! I would say that Smokescreen is having a much better time here compared to in canon.

March Community Poll: That Folksy Feeling

Way, way back, for the original Super Famicom release of the first Bokujou Monogatari, there was a Satellaview broadcast version of the game that had an accompanying live radio show that included Japanese folk music while you played. To my knowledge, this is the first time any sort of licensed musical performance was associated with the series, though later Japanese ads would use songs from pop groups like Dreams Come True.

So naturally, it got me thinkin': If they were to try something like that again with the modern series, and outside Japan this time, what would they pick? It could be for a trailer, opening, credits, festival, whatever. For those who've never heard these songs before, I threw together a playlist real quick for ya:

Of course, I'm no expert. This is hardly a comprehensive list and more of a jumping off point since folk music was what the Japanese side of the series used first. Plenty of stuff from Europe and before the 20th century out there too, like Scarborough Fair, or songs from other genres like Fields of Gold that touch on the themes and imagery of the series. There's a lot to explore.

Maybe some day it'd be worth talking to someone more well versed in older music and really digging into the concept. If nothing else, it'd probably give characters like Griffin and Gustafa more songs to play if there was some good traditional music that didn't need licensing at all. Might also be worth it for an indie dev out there looking to give their own game's musicians something to sing at their festivals.
