“come on! tell me more about this mystery guy.”
natasha plopped down the couch beside you while she held a pint of ice cream in her hand and a spoonful on its way to her mouth. you were talking about the blind date that sam arranged for you, and she hasn't stopped asking questions since you mentioned it.
“there's really nothing to tell besides that he's a guy looking for a date and that he's friends with sam. i'm actually surprised that sam set this all up, but i trust him, you know? maybe it'll be nice,” you answered, ignoring the fact that sam suggested this to help you get over your not-so-little crush on a super soldier.
your phone beeped, showing a message sent to you by your teammate. “speaking of the devil, sam just sent me the details but i'm really not sure if i should go. it doesn't feel right.”
“and leave the poor guy waiting? not happening." natasha stuck her spoon into her pint and set it down on the coffee table. “you feel that way because you like someone already, but nothing's going to happen if we'll sit here waiting. you're either giving this date a chance or ask bucky out. it's time you finally go out there and see someone. aren't you sick of us yet?"
“i'm quite sick of you, that's for sure.” you joked, having natasha as your room neighbour and basically your best friend. if you weren't spending your time sleeping in your room, you'd be spending it with her. “i just don't think i should be going on dates when i know i'm technically not emotionally available for others yet.”
“oh, you can't be sick of me. i'm great company." natasha replied confidently. “then why did you agree? we all know, besides barnes, that you've liked him for so long. plus, he's never been with anyone for ages. the two of you makes sense.”
you gnawed on your lower lip, hesitant to tell nat the reason why you agreed to this stupid date, but she was your best friend and also one hell of a spy to even try and hide it. “he told me that he found someone similar to bucky and that i might want to meet him. we agreed to let it be a blind date to avoid the mess of telling them that they're meeting an avenger.”
“i knew it. you're going on a rebound date!” she jumped on her seat, as if she'd solved the winning numbers to the lottery. “there was no way you'd suddenly go on a blind date without a catch. you're too hung up on bucky!”
“keep it down!” you pulled her back into the couch, nervously looking around the room to see if anyone was close by. “i'm pretty sure rebounds only apply to people i've dated. bucky's hardly a candidate for that list.”
“you've liked him for way too long that it basically feels like you had a relationship, and i'm pretty sure he likes you too,” natasha said. “trust me, my guts? golden.”
you winced at the thought. there had been zero signs that bucky liked you back. as much as you trusted natasha and her instincts, this was something you couldn't just assume.
“i don't think so, nat. i've given him enough hints. it's either he's too dense about it or he's just not interested. maybe it's just how it's supposed to be, and i can't keep myself stuck with maybes forever.” you sighed, deciding to finally go to the blind date. “help me pick an outfit?”
“like you even have to ask?” she smiled, dragging you to your room while you were still left with uncertainty in your heart.
the restaurant was one of those hole-in-the-wall places in downtown new york. it had a lot people dining inside, their noise easily heard from the outside, yet the ambiance already felt warm and welcoming. you wondered if sam suggested the place or the guy you were about to meet.
you sighed, giving your chest one last tap since it wouldn't stop beating so fast. it was a wonder how your heartbeat remained stable during a risky mission, while a harmless date had you this nervous. although with that, you felt human.
“okay, let's see where this goes,” you muttered to yourself, glancing at your watch that had a tracking device in it, as requested (or ordered) by your best friend.
natasha initially opted to come with you and seat somewhere far, but you told her that you didn't need it. so, she settled with a tracking device, as if you weren't an avenger who could defend yourself. you couldn't find it in you to complain, since this was natasha's own way of showing that she cared.
you entered the restaurant, eyes wandering around the room despite not knowing exactly what to look for. the only details you were allowed to know was that “joseph” knew where to take you, so you assumed that person was one of the staff that you had to look for.
once you found a waitress that didn't look too occupied, you approached her with a smile. “excuse me, may i know where joseph is?”
the lady looked up at you, recognition evident on her face. you were slightly worried that she knew your identity, but she gave you a warm smile and held your arm gently. “oh, he's right there by the counter. let me take you to him!”
she escorted you towards the man handling the counter that seemed to be where the orders were taken. he was shouting various orders behind him while arranging the food on the counter. by the looks of it, he could be the manager or the owner of the place.
“she's here!” the lady beside you exclaimed, catching the full attention of joseph.
“ah, there's our special guest for tonight!” joseph walked around the counter to hug you, as if you knew each other for a long time. “come, come! we have the best spot reserved for you. it's right outside where you can enjoy the view while also having some privacy, eh? your date already arrived, but no worries. he wasn't waiting for too long.”
you were rendered speechless as he took you to the patio, not expecting your date to arrive first, and most importantly not expecting to see him right away. you thought you were early enough, but it seems that your date was an earlier bird than you were.
once outside, all you could see was an empty patio with one man sitting not so far from where you were standing. you hated how you could only see his back and not his face, since he was facing the opposite direction. although, you immediately noticed how he was dressed similarly to bucky.
similar haircut, black boots, and a black jacket. while you weren't sure if they actually looked alike, sam wasn't kidding about them having some similarities.
“how come it's empty out here?” you asked with genuine curiosity. the restaurant was oozing with customers tonight, and they could surely use the extra space outdoors.
“well, uh...” joseph scratched his head, smiling awkwardly as he looked for an answer. “oh, well, stop worrying about that! you're here to go on a date and nothing more! let us worry about that ourselves, hm? come, let's not make your date wait for too long.”
you both walked towards the only table occupied, taking a deep breath before joseph announced, “your date has arrived!”
the man turned around, eyes widened at the sudden noise, but he eventually smiled once he looked at you.
“hey, nice to finally meet you.” he stood up, extending his hand. “i'm martin.”
one look at him and you knew that your heart stubbornly stayed with someone you shouldn't be thinking about.
“i still can't believe that i'm on a date with an avenger.”
you were barely done with your meal despite being here for more than an hour, and martin hasn't been able to stop gushing about your whole avenger sideline. while you understood his excitement, this wasn't the type of date that you hoped for.
“you think i could tell my friends?” he asked, suddenly nudging his chair closer to you that he was basically sitting beside you. “they probably won't believe me, so will it be okay if we took a picture?”
oh, so that's why he moved closer.
“sure.” you forced a smile. “but don't get too close, maybe? i'm.. i'm not that comfortable yet.”
as if you said nothing, he placed an arm over your shoulder, pulling you even closer to him. you've been through worse situations than this, but you were highly uncomfortable having your boundaries crossed.
bucky wouldn't do something like this. how did sam think that any of his behaviour was similar to him?
martin already had his phone out, capturing pictures and squeezing your arm, when you decided that this isn't what you wanted, but before you could open your mouth, you felt someone pulling his arm off of you, causing martin to scream.
“what is wrong with you!?” martin shouted, standing up and stepping away while he held his aching arm. when you turned around, you felt your heart stop to find the person you least expected to be here, but wanted the most to be with.
“bucky?”
he did not look at you, his eyes still fixated on martin, nostrils flaring as he took a step closer, standing in front of you as if he was shielding you, while martin took the same amount of steps backwards. “she clearly said no. what the fuck was so hard about understanding that?”
“look, man, i don't know what you're doing here, but i think this is between me and her,” he said, his eyes showing fear as he watched the ex-assassin approach him, hearing the gears of his metal arm whirring.
“give me your phone.” bucky ordered. “now.”
martin immediately fished for his phone, nearly dropping it, and gave it to bucky. “w-what are you going to do?”
“no, this is what you're gonna do,” bucky started, crashing martin's phone with ease and carelessly throwing it to the side. “this date never happened, your friends will hear nothing about tonight, and you will get out of here before i finish counting to three. one...”
in a snap, martin was already out of your sight. if you hadn't known martin before this, you would think he idolised pietro with the way he ran so fast.
“are you okay?”
forgetting about bucky for a split second, his voice jolted you out of your thoughts. you looked up, your heart racing, to find him right in front you.
“what are you doing here?”
“that doesn't really answer my question, doll. answer mine first, will ya? then i'll answer yours.”
“i'm okay, but i can take care of myself. you didn't have to scare the guy.” you sighed, trying your best to look displeased when in fact this has been the happiest you've been tonight. “so? why are you here?”
“well, it's really hard to explain...”
“you better try, barnes, because i am very confused right now,” you said. “one moment i'm on a date with someone, then suddenly my teammate, who i told nothing about said date, appears and crushes the phone of the guy i'm with?”
“natasha told me about it.”
you frowned, not surprised with natasha's gossipy nature, but confused about what she could've said that made him go all the way here.
“i was looking for you since you're always with us during dinner, and nat told me that you were on a date. i couldn't help but ask where and with whom, but she said that she had no idea, that it was a blind date. she was more than glad to tell me where you were, so i came here looking for you.”
“why?” you asked, confused and suddenly hopeful at the same time. although, you tried to keep your hopes down, not wanting to set yourself up for a heartbreak.
“what do you mean why? that's it. i was just worried, and now you're okay. can we go home?”
he turned his back on you and walked away, you were quick enough follow him, still unsatisfied with his answer.
once you've reached a dark alley where he had his motorcycle parked, you sighed and decided to ask one more time.
“what are you actually doing here, barnes?” you asked. “i want an actual answer or i'm walking home.”
“it doesn't matter,” bucky answered shortly, frustration. written on his face. “why did you agree to this anyway? doesn't feel like something you'd do.”
“you have no idea about what i feel and what i want to do,” you answered. “and you still haven't answered my question.”
“i don't know, okay? i don't know. i just..” he sighed. “i heard the word date and everything didn't make sense. all i knew was that i wanted to follow you here and stop whatever you were doing. i didn't like it.”
“what gives you the right to stop me from going on a date?” you asked, your head jerked back in disbelief. “and why would it even bother you? this is the first time someone went on a date in the team. so what makes mine so different?”
“what do you think?” he asked, his gaze challenging and curious, waiting for your response.
you stood in silence, his question causing a sudden drift in the conversation. you could feel the tension in the air.
“sam made me go to a blind date as well,” he spoke again. “i just remembered that he was asking me where i'd take someone on a date. days after that, he said he found a girl that i might like, and that i should go on a date with her, he suggested that it should be a blind date, knowing that i'm an avenger and all.”
“why didn't you go?”
“i couldn't. i wasn't interested. i knew it wouldn't work.”
“why?”
“because i already like someone.”
your heart sank, a lump forming in your throat as the reality set in that the person you've been pining for was already interested in someone else.
so much for going on a date to forget about him.
“what about you?” he asked. “why did you go?”
because of you, you idiot.
“trying to get over someone,” you simply answered.
“you were seeing someone?” he asked, completely clueless, but suddenly looking uneasy. “i never knew you were in a relationship. i guess, we're not that close, but i thought i'd at least know abou—”
“what? no!” you replied, voice rising as you spoke. "god, i agreed to this date because i wanted to get over you!"
the words slipped out of your mouth, your eyes widening in surprise as you accidentally reveal the feelings you had kept hidden.
bucky blinked, silence hanging in the air. the confession felt heavy between you as you waited for his response.
“i didn't agree to going on a blind date because i have feelings you,” bucky finally spoke, taking a deep breath before continuing, “because i knew i wouldn't enjoy it knowing i'd be thinking of you anyway, because as convinced as i was that you had no interest in me, i'd rather keep my eyes on you than on anybody else.”
“wait, wait, what? you like me?” you repeated in a slightly disbelieving tone, searching his face for confirmation.
“why would i follow you all the way here if i didn't?”
“because you care? and it might be dangerous to go on a date with someone i've never met?” you guessed. “i mean, i think you'd also do it for everybody else, as grumpy as you look like on the outside, you can be a softie sometimes.”
“if i had no feelings for you, i wouldn't be here. you're an avenger for christ's sake. some random guy would be like a training dummy for you,” he answered. “and no, i wouldn't be doing this for anybody else. if the situation's that dangerous, maybe, but a date? you're all adults. you know what you're doing.”
you couldn't help but giggle at his answer, which earned you a glare from him. “what?”
“nothing.” you shook your head. “you sound like an old man lecturing the younger generation.”
“are we completely ignoring the fact that we like each other?”
“that's the only thing on my mind right now.” you admitted. “are you sure about what you just said? it could be the hunger talking.”
instead of answering, bucky took his phone out of his pocket, swiping and tapping on it a few times before taking your hand and placing it on your palm.
“what am i supposed to—”
“just read it.”
choosing not to argue with him, you grabbed the phone with a frown. his messages with natasha were on the screen, starting from their messages from nearly four months ago. you scrolled through their messages, and while they lasted for months, they were all short and straightforward.
three months ago

romanoff:

bucky:
ok
romanoff:
so you're bringing popcorn?
bucky:
no
once you were done reading, you returned his phone back to his hand. “you do like me,” you said, the confession finally sinking in.
bucky nodded. “and you like me too.”
“where does that leave us?” you asked, hoping. “are we.. dating now?”
“no,” he answered quickly.
you felt that ache returning in your chest, but before you could say something, bucky already sensed your worries and he wasn't letting you slip away that easily.
“no because i want to do this right. i want to take you out on a date first, bring you flowers, play music and ask you for a dance, all that stuff that you deserve,” he explained, bringing his warm hand to your cheek. “but trust me that it won't take long before i call you mine. i don't think i have the patience for it at this point.”
“you promise?” you rose to your tiptoes, wrapping your arms around him. “i don't want to wait that long either.”
“you won't,” he replied, leaning into you, his lips brushing against your nose before pulling you in a kiss. “i promise.”
this was supposed to have a lil bonus when they got back to the tower, revealing the team's true involvement with the blind date, buttt i might just do it some other time as a snippet/part 2 instead. i still have a few to write anyway, woops.
if you have any requests for bucky, send them my way! 💌

pairing: bf! jeongin x f! reader
while getting ready to go out for his birthday, jeongin can’t seem to keep his eyes off you. all day his mind filled with dirty thoughts of you— the way you looked in his clothing, how your hips moved when you walked. he wanted to tear you apart, make sure that everyone knew you belonged to him.
[warnings]: MDNI 18+!!, smut, hickeys, biting, possession, pet names (baby, bunny, whore, angel), praising?? degrading??, fingering, a bit of nipple play, oral (f. receiving), innie gets a little jealous

Jeongin sat in the kitchen, watching as you paced back and forth while getting ready. He was already done, but he always told you to take your time since he didn’t mind the wait. He understood that sometimes girls just took a little longer and was okay with that.
You made repeated trips to the kitchen, asking him what looked best on you and what outfits might’ve clashed with his own. To him, you were a bit of a perfectionist— as you always make sure to keep everything in line. Jeongin didn’t mind, in fact he loved watching how each outfit looked on you, how perfect the fabric hugged the natural curves on your body.
He didn’t care what you wore outside, as he always made it clear to everyone that you were off the market. Though he’d be lying if he said it didn’t make him jealous the way you caught others attention.
“Innie are you even listening to me?”
He snapped out of his thoughts, meeting your pouted eyes as you crossed your arms over your chest. His eyes dropped to your outfit, noticing how your black body con dress hugged your waist tightly. It ended at your mid thighs, and you tied it together with one of his dark blue jean jackets to give more of a baggy look.
“Should I wear the stockings that have the fleece on the inside, so I don’t get cold? With my black boots?”
You did a swift 360 turn for him, catching his attention at just exactly how short your dress was. A pit of jealously filled his stomach, knowing that any guy who was near you could find arousal in your dress.
“Go change.” he ordered, his tone of voice suddenly cold.
You furrowed your eyebrows, glancing at your outfit before meeting his gaze again. You tilted your head at him, crossing your arms in resistance.
“Why? You never had a problem with me wearing anything like this before.”
“Well I do now. Take it off.”
You rolled your eyes, walking back to the room. Jeongin followed behind you, closing the door behind him as he watched you grab your boots from the closet.
“Well I don’t care. I’m your girlfriend, men aren’t gonna bother me if I’m around you. I don’t know why you’re suddenly being so negative.”
Jeongin grabbed onto your arm, pulling you back to his body. He wrapped his arms around your waist tightly, resting his chin on your shoulder. Your face flushed red as his breath hit the side of your neck, his slight bulge pressing against the back of your ass.
“You’re mine. No one else should be seeing your body but me.”
He kissed your neck softly, his warm lips giving you comfort as they made you hotter than you already were.
“But since you want to dress like an attention seeker,” his lips latched onto your skin, sucking against it softly until it turned a soft red color.
“I’ll make sure they know you’re mine.”
You moaned in response, a small tickle dancing up your nerves. He bit the area he left a red mark, small teeth marks appearing onto your skin. You threw your head back against him, letting him undo the buttons to the jean jacket. He pulled the jacket off of you, throwing it aside onto the bed as his kisses slowly worked down to your shoulder.
Jeongin turned your body slightly, angling it enough so that you could watch him in the body mirror. His lustful eyes met your own, a small smirk appearing on his face.
“You’re so pretty angel. I just want to sink my teeth into you.”
His kisses remained soft, with the occasional bite here and there that would make you wince in slight pain. He kissed the top of your back, sucking against the skin softly until the color turned into a light reddish purple.
“Such delicate skin. It’s a shame I have to ruin it with these bruises.”
Jeongin snaked his hands underneath your dress, expecting a pair of shorts only to be met with your smaller hipster panties. He gasped quietly, slipping his fingers in between your folds.
“Wow no shorts either? Who else grabbed your attention that isn’t me?” You let out breath of relief, melting under his touch as his pads worked your clit.
Your hand wrapped around his arm, small moans and gasps escaping you as he rubbed your clit slowly. He continued to bite at the skin on your shoulder blades, leaving as many possible bite marks that he could. His lips latched onto your skin, most hickeys smaller or a darker shade than others.
“You want me to keep going baby?”
You nodded, whimpering as he played with your sensitive bud. He pressed down against it, creating more pressure as his fingers twirled in circles. A loud groan escaped you, legs shaking as he sped up his pace just a bit. He watched you in the mirror as your head rested on his chest, eyes closed as you felt your stomach churn in pleasure.
Jeongin left a trail of kisses down your shoulder, stopping to place a dark red hickey on the side of your shoulder. His finger slipped in between your folds, teasing your aching hole as the friction against your clit heightened. With every move you made, your ass rubbed on his growing bulge, earning small groans here and there. He made it a task to purposely brush himself against you, his tip leaking from your unintentional touch.
“Gonna cum.” you mumbled, his body grounding you from behind.
Jeongin tilted his head at you in the mirror, a brief moment of thinking running through his head.
“Aww, so desperate.. aren’t we bunny?”
He pulled his hand out of your underwear, picking you up bridal style and placing you onto the bed. He got in right after you, his body hovering over you. His eyes were dark, filled with a lust you never seen before. A bit of possession in them as Jeongin was desperate to mark you like a dog.
He placed his knee between your thighs, pushing up against you just enough for your clit to feel the pressure. His kisses danced on the front of your neck, his soft sucking leaving a map of hickeys against your skin. His lips moved along your collarbone and down toward your chest, making his dick twitch thinking about them.
“Fuck I just want to eat you alive baby. You’re such a beauty when I have you like this.”
He pulled the straps of your mini dress down, letting your tits pop out from under. Jeongin was practically drooling, bringing his thumb to his mouth as a source of lubrication. He popped it out of his mouth, rubbing it against your nipple softly. You squirmed beneath him, watching his lips kiss around your chest. His thumb worked tirelessly at your nipple, his warm lips leaving dark hickeys that you couldn’t hide in a bathing suit. He wrapped his teeth around your skin, biting it harshly.
“Fuck Innie, that hurts.” you moaned in pleasure, displaying an opposite reaction of pain.
You ran your fingers through his hair, arching your back under him as he wrapped his lips around your nipple. He sucked against it softly, his tongue swirling around it. He took turns between each breast, leaving small marks here and there to remind you of him.
“My, my.” Jeongin admired your tits, smirking at every mark he left on them.
“I don’t mean to hurt you angel, I just can’t stand the thought of you with someone else.”
His kisses trailed down your clothed stomach, eventually landing onto your thighs. You whimpered quietly, a funny feeling in your stomach making you excited for what he could’ve been thinking.
He bit your thighs harshly, his teeth marks making themselves present on your skin. He massaged your other thigh as he worked hickeys into your skin, trying to ease the slight discomfort it gave you.
“The thought of others admiring you the way I admire you.”
Jeongin licked your thigh slowly, pulling your underwear off and throwing it off to the side.
“You’re mine, you know that?” he looked up, his eyes meeting your own as you nodded shyly. “You belong to me.. only me.”
His tongue dragged against your folds, ending at your swollen bud. He sucked on it softly, earning a pleading moan out of you. He lapped up your juices as his finger nails dug into your soft skin.
“Do I not give you enough attention?”
He kissed the sides of your pussy, tongue still dancing around your folds. You pushed your hips upward, grinding against his tongue slightly.
He sucked on your clit, sticking his fingers into you and fucking you softly. You let out a small whimpering sigh, raking your fingers through his blonde locks as he toyed with you. The sound of your juices filled the room, his fingers curling just enough to hit your sweet spot.
“Do I not make you feel good, baby? Is this not enough for you?”
His fingers sped up their pace, making you open your legs further for him as he continued to leave hickeys around your thighs.
“You want another man to fuck you like this, eh?”
His harsh gaze admired you, watching as you helplessly moaned in pleasure while your body squirmed.
“I won’t let it happen.” His thumb moved circles around your clit, fingers still pounding into you.
He came back up to your level, kissing your neck and sucking on the skin to leave darker marks than before. His other hand held onto your chin, moving your head to the side as you helplessly moaned into his ear.
“Mm, that’s it baby.” He felt your walls clench around his fingers. “Let me remind you who exactly you belong to.”
Your moans soon turned into breathless noises, your stomach doing flips as you felt yourself slipping through his fingers. Jeongin noticed this, slipping a third finger into your aching hole.
“Gonna cum baby?” You nodded in response, your eyes showing mercy as they met his own.
“Do you think you deserve to after trying to dress like a whore?”
You attempted to whine out in defense, only for whimpers to leave you. Jeongin tilted his head at you, laughing to himself.
“I should just leave you to suffer. It is my birthday after all.” He stopped in place, his thumb dragging against your clit agonizingly slow.
“Please, Innie. I’ll change, I promise!”
He raised his eyebrow, his free hand tracing the hickeys on your breasts.
“Please? Now you want to listen?” He leaned over, grabbing your chin once again to meet his face. He glared into your eyes, his face as cold as ever.
“If I see you in this dress again, I’ll be sure to rip it off you next time.”
You trembled underneath him, his fingers starting up a slow pace inside of you. He kissed the side of your jawline, taking a small bite at your skin. You winced in response, moaning as his fingers fastened inside of you.
Within seconds of him starting, you immediately let yourself go onto his fingers, juices spilling out on his hand. He sat back, watching as you coated him.
“Atta girl, don’t hold back.”
He pulled his fingers out of you, licking your juices off his fingers before leaving small kisses on your thighs. He pulled the straps back onto your shoulder, fixing your dress before pulling you up to your feet. He walked you over to the body mirror, standing behind you with a smug smile on his face.
“Isn’t it pretty?”
He rested his chin on your shoulder, watching your face flush red as your eyes fell to every hickey he left on your skin. You nodded, pulling on the strap to find the hidden ones under your dress.
“You can wear this dress if you want.” He hovered by your ear, laughing to himself before continuing.
“With these visible marks, you’ll surely get that attention you so badly want.”

You wished you could say you breathed easier as the limo pulled away, but you didn’t. You felt Bucky’s piercing eyes on you, watching until you were completely out of sight. He still wasn’t “out of sight, out of mind.” He made sure you’d think about him, and Ray was following in his vehicle. Even glancing quickly at the limo partition you could see that it was cracked. Was the driver one of Bucky’s men?
“Okay, so your new boyfriend is stupidly hot and loaded,” Dana said, her eyes darting around the limo. “You should be proud of yourself. Holy shit.”
“I should be proud of somehow snagging a hot and loaded guy?” you laughed a little. You always told yourself money wasn’t a factor as long as the love was there.
“Yes! Tell me he’s spoiling you the way he’s spoiling us today.”
You shrank back in your seat a bit. It wasn’t that it was the first time you were the center of attention with your friends, but it overwhelmed you specifically since it concerned Bucky. “Well, he bought me this outfit. And he has bought me a ton of books since I love to read,” you answered. You weren’t about to say that he transferred a ton of money into your account. “And on our first date he gave me a diamond necklace.”
The girls gasped. “Clothes, books, and a diamond necklace?! Yeah, be proud and fucking flaunt it,” Dana encouraged. She had to be half teasing since she knew that wasn’t your style. “Gina, Addison, back me up here.”
“We all know you aren’t going to flaunt any gift he gets you, but you should’ve seen the way he looked at you. He had hearts in his eyes,” Gina smiled. You tried to smile back. There were hearts alright, along with some darkness that they weren’t aware of. “I’m surprised he even looked at us.”
“Yeah, he’s… kind of intense like that,” you said. That was the word you’d go with.
“Intense isn’t necessarily bad.” Addison scooted closer to you. “And you’re happy, right? He treats you well?”
If being treated like a doll, having you followed, and showering you with affection while messing with your head was meant to make you happy… “He thinks we’re soulmates. That we were meant to find each other and be together. It’s… a lot,” you said carefully. “I haven’t had anyone who seems to need me the way he does, especially so quickly.”
“Soulmates? Wow,” Addison said. “I can see why you’d say it’s a lot.”
You could’ve hugged her. Maybe she saw through some of the charade. If she did, that could also put her in danger if she spoke out.
“Or maybe he just knows what he wants and he’s an all in kind of guy,” Dana commented. She had no idea. “Wait! Have you two had sex?!”
“No, we haven’t had sex yet,” you answered. Just him jerking off over the phone and some heavy petting and jerking off again with you nearby. “But he really wants to sleep with me and I did ride his thigh,” you mumbled.
It was still clear as day in your head, how he encouraged you to get off, his lips against yours. You didn’t want to think about it, but Bucky got his way and invaded your thoughts. It was inevitable.
“Ahh! You beautiful slut! Thigh riding is so hot!” If anyone ever needed a hype girl or enabler, Dana was the one to call. “And what are you waiting for?! Let him fuck you and eat your kitty. Do it for us.”
“Hey. There’s nothing wrong with waiting,” Addison promised. Of all of your friends, she’d snap if Bucky ever hurt you. “You wait as long as you want.”
You were trying to wait, but it was only a matter of time before you had to sleep with him. “It’s just…”
“Are you worried that his feelings will fade once you two have sex?” Gina asked.
“I’m not worried about his feelings diminishing,” you said with complete sincerity. His feelings wouldn’t waver, even if his actions screamed love-bombing. “I just… I guess I never pictured myself dating someone who owns a nightclub. He just seems out of my league.”
And he was someone who had very dangerous ties.
“No, we don’t put ourselves down here. Every league is your league, and he should be honored to be your guy.” Dana clapped her hands together. “Ooh! What if we do a big date night at his club? We bring our guys, and we can all hang out?”
Your eyes widened. “I… Maybe,” you replied. It would just be another chance for Bucky to charm them, and it felt like you’d be asking him for a favor by letting your friends in. He’d probably love it.
“I’m texting my man and telling him you got a diamond necklace.” Dana quickly typed something on her phone. “He needs to step up his game.”
You were on the verge of tears. They were happy for you, but didn't seem to notice your discomfort. You didn’t blame them. Not at all. It was your fault for not being truthful about the true nature of your relationship. That wedge you imagined Bucky was trying to drive between you and your friends felt real and they didn't even know.
“As fun as it is talking about Bucky, maybe we can talk about something else?” you smiled, nudging Addison. You didn’t want this whole day to be about Bucky and your relationship. “Your big day is getting closer.”
“Yes, it is,” she smiled.
You relaxed in the seat when the conversation shifted to the wedding and found yourself smiling and laughing through the rest of the ride. Bucky still lingered in your mind since he’d be at the wedding. The nice part was that since you were in the bridal party, he couldn’t spend the entire day with you.
“We’re here!” Addison smiled as the limo eventually came to a stop.
You were the last to get out and you took a deep breath. The winery was the perfect mix of relaxation, beauty, and good vibes. The lush vineyard stretched across the hills, and you wished for a moment you could run through them and disappear. The sun on your face brought you back to the present and made you smile, and you couldn't wait to sample some wine with the girls. You had a right to enjoy your time.
“You coming?” Dana asked.
“You two go ahead. We’ll be right in,” Addison said, linking her arm with yours and leading you away from the limo. You tensed up only for a moment when you saw Ray’s vehicle in the distance. It didn’t look completely out of place though since there were other cars and people around. “Okay, what’s up? You seem on edge.”
“I do?” you asked. You thought she didn’t notice, and you should’ve known better.
“Yeah. Is it work? Or is it about Bucky?” You tensed up again. “Did you think we wouldn’t like him?”
“No, that’s not it. It’s just a lot really fast, that’s all,” you said, leaning in to whisper, “I didn’t want to say it in the limo, but he wants me to move in with him.”
She stopped walking. “Whoa. Okay, that is fast, but some couples do move quickly in whirlwind romances, so I wouldn’t say it’s completely out of the ordinary. Brady and I knew right away that we wanted to be together,” she said. What she had with Brady was pure, and you could’ve possibly had that with Bucky in another life. “Maybe Dana’s right that he just knows what he wants and he wants to go all in.”
“He’s very much all in,” you agreed.
“Are you considering moving in with him?”
“Maybe,” you said. Bucky was going to force his hand either way.
“Wow. If you’re considering that it’s either because you’re going along with what he wants or you really care about him. I hope it’s the latter,” she said, her brows pinching in concern. “But, listen, if you aren’t ready for that, he has to understand you haven’t dated in some time and you should go at the pace that makes you feel comfortable. I’m sure he’ll understand and it shouldn’t change how he feels.”
Your words caught in your throat. The pace wasn’t yours to control, even if Natasha said you had power. There was no choice in moving in and you wish you could blurt out every single thing that transpired, but the words refused to come out. Because all you could think about was what would happen to Addison, and she didn’t deserve any kind of pain.
“And if I do care about him and want to move in?” you asked.
“You know we’ll support whatever you do, but think about it carefully because that’s a big step. And if things go south, you tell us right away so we can help,” she said, giving you a small smile. “He may be your boyfriend, but you’re still my best friend and I was here first. I’ll smack him with a frying pan if he messes up.”
You blinked tears away before you hugged her. You were lucky to have a friend like her. “A frying pan? What happened to a shovel?” you teased.
“Frying pan is more accessible,” she teased back, giving you a squeeze. “Now let’s go. We have some wine to try.”
Ray kept a respectable distance from your table and didn’t make eye contact as he pretended to read while sipping his drink. You were glad for that since your friends didn’t seem to take notice of him as you all ate and sampled various wines. Though you were having a great time, you hardly drank a drop. You wanted to stay on guard in case Bucky decided to crash the outing.
“Oh, we need to take a bottle of this home,” Dana said, pointing at her empty glass. “And where the hell is your cousin?!”
“She bailed.” Addison rolled her eyes. “That's exactly why she’s not in the wedding party. I can’t rely on her.”
“That and she’s a bitch,” Dana said unapologetically while pointing at you. “We know she would’ve said something shitty about you and Bucky, and we don’t need that bad energy.”
You scoffed. Addison’s cousin was the type who always had to one-up someone or try to tear them down so she felt better about herself. You tried to see the best in others, but you were admittedly glad she wasn’t there today. “I’m sure she’ll have something to say at the wedding.”
“If she does say anything, don’t listen to her,” Addison urged. “Or say something back to shut her down.”
“Rub it in her face how hot and rich Bucky is,” Dana grinned, nudging you with her elbow. “Her head will explode.”
You inhaled. Bucky, Bucky, Bucky. Everything went back to him, and you had to say something. “You know what I should tell her?” You smiled as they listened expectantly. “I should tell her that even though Bucky is rich and handsome and could have anyone he wants, he stalked me and coerced me into being his girlfriend. You think her head will still explode, or will she just laugh?”
The table went silent as you sipped your wine before they burst out laughing. A few heads turned your way from the sound, and you didn’t crack a smile when Ray made eye contact with you. Had he heard what you said?
Dana laughed so hard she wheezed. “You don’t understand. I need you to tell her that just to see the look on her face. Please. I beg of you.”
“And make sure Bucky’s in on the joke, too,” Gina giggled.
Your heart sank. Their safety came first, but the reaction was another reason you didn’t say anything. Who would possibly believe you? He was a rich and powerful man and you were merely a florist. “Maybe I can say something that’s not quite so dark,” you smiled.
Addison stared at you curiously before she shook her head. “You and your sense of humor,” she teased, drinking the rest of her glass. “But if you could shut her up, I’ll be thankful.”
Your phone dinged before you could respond, and you almost spit up the little wine you had when you saw a message from Bucky.
“Call me. Now.”
Direct. No sweet words. Oh, no.
“Is that your loverboy?” Dana wiggled her eyebrows.
“As a matter of fact it is and he’s asking for me to call him. Do you mind if…”
“Go. We’ll be right here,” Addison smiled.
Your legs felt a bit rubbery as you walked outside and took a look around to make sure no one was nearby. What if he had a bug in your phone and he heard what you said? Oh, God. You were so stupid.
Pressing his name on your phone, you let out a shaky breath when he immediately picked up. “Kotyonok, I need you to come back,” he replied, his tone stern. Upset.
You swallowed. God, he did hear you. You could convince him it was a joke, right? No one had to get hurt. “Why, what’s wrong?” you asked, your tone remarkably calm. “We aren’t done with our samples.”
“You were followed to Addison’s this morning by one of Zemo’s men. Ray and I both spotted him.” There were muffled noises in the background. “I just finished… talking to him.”
“I was followed?” you whispered, your heart sinking for a completely different reason now. The day you went out with your friends someone followed you? “What did he want?”
“I can explain more later, but he had a ‘look, but don’t touch’ order. I broke his fingers anyway.” You closed your eyes. He sounded proud of himself. “I have some business to attend to for the rest of the day and I have to go to the club after, which is why I need you back at home.”
Ray appearing behind you almost made you drop your phone. “Jesus, Ray,” you gasped, your heart nearly beating out of your chest.
“I’m sorry,” he said, briefly resting a hand on your shoulder. “Boss messaged me to bring you home.”
“Yeah, I’m talking to him right now,” you said, narrowing your eyes. “And I’m not going home right now. I'm not leaving.”
“What?” Bucky growled. He could be angry all he wanted. You didn’t care. “This isn’t something to argue about or negotiate, I need you safe and-”
“Safe? You need me to be safe?” you asked, trying to stay calm amidst the storm inside you. “Has it occurred to you that the entire reason I’m not safe is because of you? That the only reason Zemo even cares about following me is because I’m your girl?”
“You think I don’t know that? You think I don’t know I painted the very target on your back by falling for you? I’m well aware of that fact, but I’m also the one who can keep you safe.” He sounded almost as vulnerable as he did when he talked about his mom. “So just… come home.”
You chewed the inside of your cheek. Home. “You know, there are a lot of dangerous people out there who have families and loved ones. And I’m sure some of them are blissfully unaware of what goes on behind the scenes, but not all of them are. Some are very well aware of what their partners do for a living because they were told what they were getting into.”
“Kotyonok-”
“But you didn’t, Bucky. You didn’t let me know what I was getting into. One look at me and you made the decision for me and sealed my fate,” you continued, looking sadly at Ray. “So while I’m thinking of you today like you wanted, I want you to think of me and that target you painted on my back and my loved ones. And think about if you really love me the way you say you do.”
“I do love you,” he breathed. It would be nice to believe that. “Come home, please, and we’ll talk when I get back from the club.”
“I’m finishing the day with my friends. Ray will stay here with me. I also need to go to my place before I go to the penthouse,” you said. If he wanted you there so badly, he could bend a bit since you were in no direct danger at the moment. “And don’t expect a happy conversation like we had this morning.”
One step forward, two steps back.
“I’ll just be happy that you’re safe,” he said, which only infuriated you more. You couldn’t make out what he ordered to someone else, but the muffled noises picked up again. “Leave in thirty minutes. The driver will drop your friends off and he’ll take you to the apartment. Ray will take you home from there.”
“Two hours,” you stated just to be stubborn.
“One hour,” he countered. “Or I’ll drive there myself.”
You huffed, but didn’t want to test him. “Fine. I’ll leave in one hour.” The girls would understand if you made some excuse.
“Thank you,” he exhaled. He really did sound relieved. “I love you. I’ll see you later this evening.”
You waited a beat. “Think about what I said.” Ray waited patiently as you hung up. “Have I told you that your boss is a pain in the ass?”
“He certainly is, but he is correct that your safety is important,” he agreed, gently stopping you before you went back inside. “If you aren’t in the limo in one hour, he will come after you.”
“I know,” you sighed. Bucky would be dramatic like that. And protective. “Someone was really following me?” you asked in a small voice. Bucky had no reason to lie unless he was trying to get you away from your friends.
Ray nodded solemnly. “It could’ve been to report your movements back to Zemo, but I’d have to ask the boss for more details since I didn’t get to interrogate him myself.”
“I do appreciate you both spotting him,” you complimented, even if Bucky violently handled it. You shouldn’t have expected anything less.
“Of course.” There was a ghost of a smile on his face. “You were wrong, you know.”
Your brows pinched. “About what?”
“Your strength. You handled that well all things considered,” he answered.
“You’re only saying that because you can’t read my mind,” you said. It was a mess. But you hadn’t broken down or cried, so that was a plus.
For a moment you thought he’d laugh, but he merely nodded to the building. “Better go join your friends before they miss you.”
“Thanks, Ray,” you whispered, putting a smile back on your face as you walked back inside and headed back to the table.
Addison held up two fingers. “You missed two more rounds of samples.”
“I guess I'll have to catch up,” you teased. “And would anyone object to leaving in an hour? Bucky’s planning a romantic evening for the two of us, and I need to stop by my apartment before I head over to his place,” you said. It was partially true. “If you all want to stay, I’ll get an uber and you can take the limo.”
“An hour’s fine.” Dana blinked a few times. “Anyone else tired? I’m a little tired.”
Gina covered her mouth when she yawned. “Yeah, I am, too.”
“I feel fine,” you said, frowning when Addison yawned, too. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, but a nap sounds good right about now,” she said, pushing her now empty glass away and checking the time. “It is kind of late. It’ll be night time when we get back.”
You stared at your own glass, dread filling your stomach. You felt perfectly fine, but they looked tired. Was it possible that someone slipped something in their drinks or food? Did Ray do something or did Bucky set something up in order to make you leave? Or were you just being paranoid?
“Is everyone okay?” you asked. It felt like too much of a coincidence that they all felt tired after you came back to the table. “Should we just leave right now?”
“I’m fine. I was just up really late last night,” Addison answered. Dana and Gina nodded in agreement.
“Maybe we should cut back on the samples and stick with water,” you suggested.
“You’ve always been the sensible one,” Dana said, resting her chin in her hand. “But can we still buy some bottles?”
“Yeah. As many as we want,” you promised. Bucky did say he’d spoil you, so why not?
Exactly one hour later, you were back in the limo with the girls and plenty of bottles. Unlike the ride over, the ride back was much quieter. You thought Addison would fall asleep on your shoulder at one point and Dana actually did fall asleep at one point for a few minutes. They somehow didn’t stumble on the way to the limo, and it would’ve impressed you if you weren’t so worried.
“Are you sure you girls are okay? Should we go to the hospital?” you asked.
“Why would we do that? We drank more at my bachelorette party than we did today. We’re fine,” Addison assured you. “You worry too much.”
You had good reason to worry. “This sounds crazy, but did you drug my friends? I need to know if I should take them to the hospital.” you messaged Bucky. If he did something to them…
He typed something back right away. “How could I possibly drug your friends when I wasn’t there? Is everyone okay?”
Did he actually care? “I’m fine, but they’re very drowsy and I’m worried.”
“Ray kept me updated and he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. None of Zemo’s men were there. I didn't do anything either. Did any of them complain that they were dizzy? Nauseous? Did anyone pass out?”
“No, but it could've been something like Benadryl to make them drowsy and get me to possibly leave faster.” Or punish you by mentioning the stalking thing, if he knew, and show you that his reach expanded beyond the city.
“That’s a very creative method to get you to leave, but lots of wine can make anyone drowsy and I have no reason to do that to your friends. I think our conversation may have scared you a bit since Zemo had someone watching you and you’re understandably worried for your friends.”
You looked around at your friends. They did drink a lot more wine than you, and drugging people didn’t seem to be Bucky’s style. Zemo’s men weren’t there. Maybe you were being paranoid and the girls really were just tired. Being part of Bucky’s circle just made you question everything.
“Okay. I’m trusting you.” You had to.
“Thank you. Your worry aside, it sounds like you girls had fun though from what I heard. Maybe the next day out can be at my club. Could be fun.”
You gasped. Did he know what Dana suggested? No, no, no. You weren’t falling down that rabbit hole, and didn’t send any texts back for the rest of the drive.
Brady and the other guys were waiting on the curb when the limo stopped at Addison’s. You were the only one who didn’t get out, but you gave each of them hugs and helped hand out the wine to their significant others. They seemed a bit more awake, so maybe they were just fine. “Love you girls. And, guys, keep an eye on them. They had quite a few samples,” you said. You’d have to text each of them later to check on them.
“Love you,” the girls echoed before the door shut.
The driver headed in the direction of your place after a minute. What were you going to say to Bucky when you saw him? Would you scream at him for putting you in danger, or would you just accept that this was your life? It was a continuous losing battle the more you fought.
The morning you had with Bucky, minus the groping, had been somewhat nice. Could it be like that all the time if you tried? Could it be better if he loosened the reins?
“Thank you,” you said when the limo stopped and the partition rolled down a few inches. “How much do I owe you?”
“Mr. Barnes took care of that, miss, but if you’ll allow me-”
“Oh, no. Please don’t get out. I got it,” you smiled, letting yourself out. You scanned the street for Ray’s car, but didn’t see it. He was likely waiting for the limo to pull away.
Two steps into your building, your phone dinged. “What now?” you muttered when you opened a text from Bucky.
“Ray got a flat tire. Stay in the limo.”
You read the message twice. A flat tire? You were about to type back to Bucky that you already left the limo when you heard a familiar voice by the elevator. “It’s about time you got back.”
You couldn’t breathe when you found a pair of blue eyes staring at you. “Clark… what are you doing here?”
Oh, I hope you lovelies are prepared for the next part. And what do we think of your friends? And were they just drowsy or did something happen? Love and thanks for reading! ❤️

pairing: sero hanta x roommate!reader
summary: It's Valentine's Day and Sero does his best to keep his horny thoughts to himself. He doesn't succeed.
cws: smut mdni, face sitting, sero hanta is a pussy-eating KING, dirty talk
based on this prompt list
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/74c99e7a18cd2b0accefa759e6f48413/fcfb6a910287b5e4-4e/s540x810/d96570081d93646a1757d37be0ae0b66395f3638.jpg)
"Wow," Sero whistles, while you teeter on one heel and hop into the other. That dress hugs every inch of you. "Someone’s lookin’ good. Hot date?"
You laugh, and fuck, he’s such an idiot, because the sound travels straight to his dick. He adjusts himself as subtly as he can and goes back to cooking dinner.
"Something like that.” You swipe on lip gloss in the hallway mirror. "He’s a coworker. I might have mentioned him?"
You’ve mentioned him 17 times. Not like Sero’s counting.
"Make sure he treats you right," is all he says instead, doing his best to ignore the cute little blush tearing across your face as you duck out the door.
Alone on Valentine’s Day, he thinks ruefully, settling his long frame on the couch. Alone on Valentine’s Day with a raging hot case of let-me-fuck-you-right-now for his roommate.
He should have turned down being your roommate the minute he saw you on Denki’s phone. If he had, he wouldn’t be this jealous of some random shithead taking you out for Valentine’s Day.
He considers texting Denki just to have someone to commiserate with, but the guy is probably doing his best to woo Jiro and doesn’t need the distraction.
He sparks up a joint and turns on 13 Going on 30 (so he’s a rom-com guy, sue him), trying not to think about how much better this night would be if you were here.
The door clicks a half hour later, followed by the rap of your heels on the ground. You trudge into the room and slump on the couch right next to him.
“He didn’t even show up,” you whisper into the side of his neck, wrapping your arms around him. He feels a few tears hit his collarbone.
Sero Hanta considers himself a pretty even-keeled type of guy, but wanting to punch this dick’s lights' outs shoots to the top of his to-do list.
“Oh honey, what a fuckin’ dickhole.” His hands tighten on your waist. “Doesn’t deserve someone like you, anyway.”
He probably shouldn’t say that, not when he’s rubbing circles on your hip through the material of your dress, the scorching heat of your body against his impossible to ignore. But he's been thinking it for months now, all of his own attempts at dating tossed to the wayside when he realized he just preferred coming home to you.
“No?” You pull away and delicately wipe away unshed tears. He doesn't know why he finds it so cute, this innate desire to preserve what's left of your mascara. “Who does deserve me, Hanta?”
You grab the joint and drag and his mind goes fuzzy. You’ve never outright called him on it like this before.
“Maybe I do angel, ya ever think of that?”
“Yeah?” There’s that megawatt smile of yours, kicking him in the teeth. “You think of me like that, too?”
It’s new territory for the both of you, admitting to the attraction that Sero realizes has been simmering for weeks.
“Yeah. I think of you all the time.” He cups your face and cocks his head. "We doin' this? You gonna let me show you how I'd treat ya on Valentine's Day?"
You roll your eyes at him affectionately. "Cheesy bastard."
He cuts off your laugh with the press of his mouth.
Sero's not normally one to wax poetic, but something about the way your body instantly sinks into his makes his heart lurch. You kiss him like you've been spending your whole life studying how to do it, and it drives him absolutely insane.
"Knew we'd be good together," he says, grinding the curve of his cock into the cleft between your thighs. "Feel how hard I already am, baby? Just from one little kiss."
You groan into his mouth and start pawing at his clothes.
"I know, I know, want you naked too. Don't fuckin' pout, I think you'll like the idea." He repositions the two of you with him lying down on the couch, you straddling his hips. "Remember when you said you've never sat on a guy's face?"
Your eyes darken with excitement. "I remember."
"What if we change that?" He strokes his thumb under the band of your dress, shimmying it over your hips. The pretty red lace covering your pussy makes his breath catch. "Because you know what's gonna happen if we don't?"
He traces the folds of your pussy through your underwear with the pads of his fingers.
"I'm gonna get inside this perfect fuckin' pussy and embarrass myself. Probably come after two pumps like an idiot because she's just so fucking sweet." He pulls your panties down and drags you up to his face. He catches the little whine of insecurity in your throat at the position.
Your pussy is swollen and begging for attention, arousal clinging to your lips like dew.
"Take a fuckin’ seat, baby, ya think I’ve never done this before?"
He molds his hands around the meat of your hips and thighs, and then Sero feasts, sucking and grinding his chin and nose and tongue up into your cunt. You wail and fall forward, holding yourself steady on the arm of the couch. He doesn't care if he has to hold you up himself; he's in heaven between your thighs, the taste and scent of you all he can fucking think about.
You cum quickly, gasping and shuddering above him as he drinks down your orgasm like fucking water.
"Felt good, didn't it?" he prods, biting your inner thigh and soothing it with a kiss. Your shaky nod makes him grin.
Sero sits backs up with you in his lap, wiping the back of his mouth with a forearm and licking at his lips like a dog. He hopes he smells like you for hours.
Black streaks of mascara run under your lashes. He swipes them away with the back of his thumb. "Sorry honey. You worked hard on this makeup, huh? And I'm just making you cry it off."
It's your turn to cut him off with a kiss.

Pairing: Cassian x f!reader
A/N: Hi anon! Thank you so much <33 I wanted to include smut but inspiration for fluff found me first! I love drama queen cassian, hope you enjoy it 💕
Prompt: "You're such a tease today."
Warnings: none really, just a very tiny short piece of angst if you really squint
Word count: 1.5k
You had recently realized just how much Cassian craved physical contact, and your new favorite pastime was denying him of it. You wanted to see how far you could push him before he snapped.
Apparently, just a day.
You chose a short summer dress, fully aware of the way it hugged your curves and made your legs look longer. Cassian wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off you, and you were determined not to let him touch you.
When you walked into the living room, he was lounging on the couch with Rhys and Mor. You greeted them with a smile, and Cassian’s face lit up when he saw you. Without interrupting the conversation, he reached for you, but you stayed just a few inches out of reach, merely brushing his hand with a teasing smile as you made your way to the kitchen.
When you walked back out a few minutes later, you let him grab your hand and pull you closer. You knew he wanted you to sit on his lap. You both loved it. But today you didn’t, opting instead to settle on the couch beside him. He frowned but didn’t comment.
“You look lovely, sweetheart,” he said instead. “This dress suits you.”
“It really does,” Mor chimed in from her armchair. “Which means your hands will be all over her in three… two…”
You and Rhysand chuckled, but Cassian grinned. He didn’t even try to deny it.
“Actually, I have to go,” you announced, cutting the moment short.
Cassian stilled, his arm half-lifted as he was about to drape it over your shoulders. “You’re leaving already?”
You nodded. “Yeah, I’m going shopping with Elain, remember?” You patted his knee before standing and looking at Mor. “Want to join us?”
Her smile widened. “You know it.”
You leaned down to kiss Cassian, just a brush of your lips against his—more a promise of a kiss than an actual one. He tried to keep you there, to deepen the kiss, but you pulled back.
“Always eager for more,” you murmured, and booped his nose. “I’ll see you for dinner.”
Following Mor to the front door, you turned back to wave at Cassian, catching the stunned expression plastered on his face.
Rhys just looked amused.
~~~~~~
Cassian was waiting when you returned home a few hours later.
Mor and Elain had already come back, but you’d stayed behind to buy one last item—a flimsy piece of lingerie you thought he might like.
“How long have you been standing there?” you asked as the door closed behind you. “Not since the girls came back, I hope.”
“I saw you arrive through the window.” Cassian pushed off the wall and stalked toward you, an accusatory finger pointed in your direction. “I have a bone to pick with you.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at what you assumed was supposed to be an intimidating expression. It never worked on you. He could be intimidating when he needed to—he was a warrior and a general, after all. But when he pretended, his lips jutted out slightly in a pout and a small crease appeared between his brows.
“And what is it?” you inquired, trying to walk past him and up the stairs. You were carrying a few full bags and just wanted to drop them off in your room.
Cassian’s arm shot out to block your path. “You’re not going anywhere, sweetheart. Not until you tell me why you haven’t kissed me all day.”
You cocked your head. “I have kissed you today,” you retorted.
He scoffed. “Only three times and they were just little pecks.” Then, as if it was obvious, he added, “Which don’t really count.”
“Oh, you poor big baby,” you chuckled. “What if I’m just saving the best for last because I bought something I know you’ll like?”
Cassian’s eyes darted to the bags in your hands. He tried to peek inside, but everything was neatly wrapped. He looked back at you. “Something like…?”
You smirked. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Before he could stop you, you slipped under his arm and headed for the stairs. “I’ll leave these in our room,” you warned as you began the short climb. “And if I find out you snooped around, I’ll return the surprise.”
Cassian’s outraged gasp followed you up the stairs. You could practically see him clutching his chest, as if your words had struck him like a dagger to the heart. “When have I ever done something like that?”
“Cassian,” you scolded, not even bothering to turn around.
“Alright, alright.” You could hear the smile in his voice. “I promise.”
~~~~~~
When you joined the others downstairs, some were already gathered around the table, their choice of seating casual as always. But Cassian had saved you a spot beside him, and as you approached, you leaned in to kiss his cheek.
“Thank you, my love,” you murmured, making sure to brush your fingers along his wing as you settled into your chair.
He inhaled sharply, drawing a pointed look from Amren on his other side. She merely rolled her eyes before turning back to her conversation with Azriel.
“Sorry,” you quipped, feigning innocence. “I didn't mean to.”
Cassian narrowed his eyes. “What is going on?”
You shrugged off his question, focusing on filling your plate. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
His gaze remained fixed on you, tracking your every moment. Holding back a laugh was harder than you’d expected, but you schooled your features into an unreadable expression.
“You’re such a tease today,” he muttered. “The dress, the kisses, now my wing…” His eyes darkened slightly as he watched you take the first bite of your food. “And this morning, when you got me so worked up only to slip out of bed before I could—”
“Cassian.”
Both of you looked up. Rhysand sat directly across from you, his brows raised. It was the same look he wore when waiting for someone to admit they had done something wrong.
“What?” Cassian scowled.
“If you really can’t avoid discussing your personal life during family dinner, at least keep your voice down.” Everyone was looking at you now, but Rhys went on, an amused smirk appearing on his lips. “Besides, I’m sure Y/N has a good reason for keeping you high and dry.”
Laughter rippled around the table, but Cassian only glowered. With a smile, you placed your hand on his thigh, hidden from the others’ view. “I’m sorry,” you murmured, pressing another soft kiss to his cheek. “I’ll make it up to you.”
He simply grumbled, “Oh, you will.”
The rest of the dinner passed uneventfully. Your hand lingered on Cassian’s leg, but he paid it little attention. He seemed distant, glancing toward Azriel more than once throughout the meal. The Shadowsinger merely raised an eyebrow each time their eyes met.
Had you gone too far? Maybe you shouldn't have teased him in front of the whole family.
When dinner ended and everyone moved into the sitting room for drinks, you watched as Cassian left without a word. You made to follow him to apologize—for real this time—but Azriel pulled you aside before you could.
His expression was so grim that you paused before you could ask him to talk later.
“What’s wrong?” you asked instead.
Azriel hesitated. “I’m worried about Cassian. Is everything okay between you two?”
Your heart sank. Of course Azriel had noticed, but for him to be concerned enough to pull you aside… maybe you had really pushed Cassian too far. You needed to talk to him as soon as possible to explain things.
“No, Az, it’s fine,” you started, trying to explain. “It’s just that I—”
Your words turned into a startled scream as two strong arms suddenly wrapped around you, lifting you off the ground.
Cassian’s laughter boomed in your ears as he crushed you to his chest. “Got you!”
Your hands flew to his forearms, your heart pounding. “What… what are you doing?” you mumbled, still trying to make sense of what was happening.
Azriel’s lips curled up into a smirk. “Good luck with him,” he said before slipping away to join the others in the sitting room.
“What…?”
Cassian began striding toward the stairs, still holding you from behind, your feet dangling uselessly above the floor.
“You shouldn't have let your guard down, sweetheart,” he murmured in your ear. “You really thought you could tease me all day and get away with it?”
Azriel. He had distracted you just long enough for Cassian to sneak up behind you.
Cassian set you down on the first step, only to spin you around and scoop you up again. “Now I’ve got you, and you’re not going anywhere. You have a whole day to make up for.”
You wrapped your arms and legs around him as he started up the stairs. A breathless laugh left your lips. “So you’re not mad at me?”
“Worse than that.” He grinned, his hands sliding from your thighs to your ass, squeezing playfully. “I’m touch-starved. So why don’t you start fixing that?”
This time, you obliged him, cupping his face and pressing your lips to his before he even reached your bedroom door.

Speak up
Sam and Dean Winchester & little sister!reader
Requested by @outof-spite and Anonymous (+ @ whoever I swear left me a vampire request that I think I lost, hopefully you know who you are)
Synopsis: You barely talk, and never raise your voice . . . So the boys are in for a surprise during a hunt
“Could you speak up?”
Dean watched you flounder for a moment after the waiter’s demand spilled out. You managed to stutter a few—still mumbled—words, but nothing the waiter would understand.
“She said she wanted the burger,” Dean spoke up for you. “No pickles.”
You squirmed sheepishly in your seat as the waiter walked away, but Dean was unfazed.
“Sorry,” you mumbled.
“Don’t worry about it.” Dean shook his head. He was used to your soft voice, and he’d been speaking for you since you learned to talk. “I got you.”
…
“Last one,” Sam said to Dean as he tied off the last stitch in Dean’s arm. “Finished.”
“About dang time,” Dean grumbled, rubbing his arm.
“And if you pull at them, I’m gonna have to do it again,” Sam chided. He turned suddenly when you tugged on his arm. “Yeah?”
You held onto his sleeve with one hand, holding your other one up for him to see. It was now that he noticed your wrist twisted at an odd angle.
“Jeez, kid,” Dean hissed, looking over Sam’s shoulder. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
You just shrugged, and Sam shook his head.
“Ok, alright, just keep your arm still, ok?” Sam took your hand in his, putting his other hand on your arm to keep it still. Sam met Dean’s eye for a split second before looking back at you. “Ready? One—“
“Boo!” Dean’s outburst interrupted Sam’s counting, catching your attention just as Sam twisted your wrist back into position.
You let out a sound that was half laugh and half whimper, but it was hardly louder than the sound of the wind outside.
“You ok?” Sam asked softly. You nodded, burrowing into his side while you cradled your wrist.
“You’re a tough kid,” Dean told you, ruffling your hair. You offered him a small smile, but no words.
The boys were used to your quiet nature, so it rarely concerned them. This felt a little different to Sam.
“Hey, you gotta let us know when you’re hurt, ok?”
“I did,” you mumbled. “I just wanted you to fix De up first.”
“Don’t do that,” Dean cut in. “I want you fixed up first, every time.”
But you didn’t answer him, and Sam knew this would be something you and Dean would both be stubborn about.
…
“Sam, take the front with me. Y/N, you can go around the back.”
“You…you want her going alone?” Sam asked.
“There are big windows in the back, it’s brighter. The vampires won’t be back there, she’s going in as backup.” Dean’s eyes met yours. “You up for a little solo trip, kid?”
You hefted your machete and gave Dean a firm nod.
He grinned. “That’s what I thought. Let’s go.”
…
You slipped around the side of the run-down home, surprised to see boards nailed up over the windows in the back. You hesitated, wondering if you should go get Dean—obviously the vampires would be free to roam the back of the house with the windows boarded up—but you decided against it. Dean had given you this task, and you wouldn’t let a few pieces of wood stop you.
…
Dean was surprised at how few vampires he and Sam encountered in the front of the house. They were met instantly by three, and it was quick and easy work lobbing off their heads.
“I thought there’d be more,” Sam admitted. “Do you think—“
The shriek that echoed through the little shack would haunt Dean for the rest of his life. It was so jarring that he froze on the spot, his eyes seeking out Sam’s in the gloom.
“Was that—that was—“ Sam’s voice broke, and he followed his big brother as Dean kicked open the door to the back room and ran in, machete clenched tightly in his fist. The room he’d busted into was empty, and Dean looked frantically around for another door.
“Dean!” The scream was so foreign that for the second time, Dean was struggling to place it as you. Never, on a hunt or during a scary movie or in a fit of anger or—or anything—had Dean heard you yell like that, or at all. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d heard you speak higher than a soft murmur.
“Dean—“ Sam’s frantic voice snatched Dean’s attention, and he turned to see Sam shoving open a door at the far side of the room. “It came from this way.”
But through the door was a hallway that split two ways, and the brothers could no longer hear your screams to guide their way.
With a simple gesture nod of his chin, Dean relaid a plan to Sam; Dean would go one way, Sam the other.
Dean stalked down the hallway, his heart hammering in his ears and his machete gripped in his sweaty palms. He passed room after room, but there was no sign of you or the vamps.
“Dean!” Unlike when you screamed, Dean recognized Sam’s cry for help immediately. He turned on his heal, dashing for where he last saw his brother.
“Sam!” Dean rounded the corner, but there was no one in sight. “No no no no—“ Dean growled, rushing out the back door into the fresh air. A car was already speeding down the dirt road—the vampires must have braved the sun in order to take their hostages away. Dean rushed around to the front of the house and threw himself into the Impala. The tires crunched on the road as Dean slammed the car into reverse and twisted it around, swerving around the house and following down the dirt road that the vampires had disappeared down with his siblings.
“Cas,” Dean spit out as he drove. “Cas, things are really going bad down here. We could use some backup.”
…
“Sam? Sa-Sammy?”
Sam awoke to a pounding headache and to your quiet voice stuttering his name.
“The big one’s awake!” A grating voice made Sam cringe as he opened his eyes and squinted in the dim light. Course ropes bound his wrists, and he felt hard concrete under him as he shifted until his eyes finally fell on you.
“Sammy?” You were a whimpering mess, curled in on yourself with tears streaming down your face and blood matting your hair to your neck, which was stained red and still bleeding.
“Hey—“ Sam forced himself to sit up, mentally doing a wellness check; it didn’t feel like he’d been bitten, and the only thing that hurt was his head from when one of the cowardly monsters had snuck up behind him and knocked him out. “Hey, are you ok?” He asked you.
“I’m—I’m—“
“Oh she’s fine.” A vampire sauntered over to the two of you, flashing a mouthful of razor sharp teeth that were stained red. “I just had a little snack while you were asleep,” he added, stepping closer to you.
You were cringing away from the monster, your pale body shuddering.
“Get away from her!” Sam snapped.
The vampire ignored Sam, lifting you by the front of your shirt and lowering his head to your neck.
Sam tried to throw himself at the vamp to stop him, but the rest of the nest had come to watch, and one of them grabbed onto Sam to stop him.
“Stop! Leave her alone, don’t hurt her!” Sam could do nothing but protest as the vampire fed off his little sister. For the first time, he noticed the other bite marks on you—more than one vamp had fed on you while he was unconscious. It wasn’t just your neck, either; Sam saw bites all along your shoulder, blood marks on your stomach, and a ripped and bloody mess at your thigh. Sam felt his stomach lurch at the image of half a dozen vampires feeding on you, their fangs ripping up your skin and their monster hands all over you.
He wasn’t going to let it happen again.
“You’re gonna kill her!” Sam yelled. When no one paid him any mind, he head butted the vamp that was holding him in place, giving him a moment of freedom that he knew he’d have to use wisely. With his hands tied, his options were limited, so he followed his instincts and threw himself in front of you, knocking the vampire that had been feeding on you to the ground.
It was a good plan—Sam was now able to be between the vampires and you, giving him a moment to reason with them while you weren’t in as much danger.
“Keep her alive and-and you’ll have an unlimited supply,” Sam babbled, grasping for any possible argument to save you. He’d glanced back long enough to see you, ghostly pale and trembling, looking like you barely had life left in you. “But if you take anymore of her blood now you’re gonna kill her.”
The vampire wiped your blood off his chin, a sickening grin on his face.
“That’s all well and fine.” He chuckled. “Except we haven’t eaten in days, so we’re not too worried about conserving our supply.”
“Then—“ Sam swallowed. He could hear your ragged breathing behind him and feel your tiny hand on his arm, tugging at his jacket like you wanted to stop him from what you knew was coming. “Then feed on me. Not her.”
“Sammy.” Your tiny voice cracked as you tugged at your brother’s arm. Sam turned around to face you, effectively blocking you from seeing the vampires behind him.
“It’s ok, it’s ok,” he promised, brushing your blood-soaked hair away from your face. “You’re gonna be ok.” He leaned forward, kissing the side of your head so he could whisper— “Dean’s gonna find you, you’re gonna be ok.”
“Don’t—don’t—“ you choked, gripping Sam’s hands in a vice grip.
“I gotta protect you,” Sam said, a smile reaching his lips despite the terror in his eyes as the vampires grabbed onto his shoulders and yanked him away from you. “That’s what big brothers do, kid.”
You tried to go to him, but one of the vampires held you back, tying you to the leg of a desk next to you while the others forced Sam to his knees.
“It’s ok, it’s gonna be ok,” Sam repeated even while he grimaced as a vampire bit into his neck.
You started screaming when Sam’s eyes fluttered closed, the blood draining from his face as he swayed on his knees.
“No! Stop, no!”
…
Once again the harrowing sound of your shrieking froze Dean in his tracks, and even Castiel’s step faltered.
“It—I—this way.” Dean shook off his fear as he led the way towards the sound of your voice.
…
Sam’s head was starting to droop, his breathing labored, when the door swung open, slamming into the wall with a deafening crash.
Dean and Cas burst in, wasting no time in taking out the first vampires that dared to get too close to them.
The vamps nearest to you and Sam forgot you instantly, rushing to attack the two new threats.
They’d been relieved of their heads before they’d gotten one swing into the fight.
Dean rushed to check on Sam, dropping to his knees to untie him while Cas went to you. Once your hands were free, Cas tried to heal the obvious injuries he could see across your skin, but you were dashing away from him before he got the chance.
“Sam!” Your voice echoed around the concrete walls, and the pain and desperation Dean heard in it knocked him back on his heels.
Sam groggily lifted his head just in time to see you running into his arms. You slammed into him, and Sam held you in a death grip to him, rocking you back and forth.
“It’s ok,” he promised. “We’re ok.”
“I love you,” you whispered.
Sam knew right then that he’d rather have to decipher your mumbling for a million people than have to hear you scream in pain and fear again. He knew right then that your quiet whispers were the best sound he’d ever heard.
“I love you too,” he whispered back, words only for your ears.
“I need to heal you,” Castiel spoke up, breaking the two of you apart.
“Sammy first.” Sam barely heard your voice as you made your request to the angel.
“What did you say?” Cas asked. Instead of answering, you tugged at Cas’s hand and pushed it against Sam’s forehead, making Sam grin. Cas’s hand pulsed blue, and color returned to Sam’s face as he took a deep breath and the bite mark at his neck closed up.
“Here.” Sam shrugged his jacket off and wrapped it around you, covering the rips in your clothes before nodding to Cas to heal you. Sam saw Dean clenching his fists, and knew that his older brother had seen the bites covering your body.
“Thanks Cas,” you whispered, and Sam knew at once that Cas hadn’t heard you. Before the angel could ask, though, Sam wrapped you in his arms and mouthed to his friend—thank you.
Cas nodded, and Dean tugged at your arm.
“You ok sweetheart?” He asked. His eyes were wide and his hands were trembling, the adrenaline from hearing your screams not yet worn off.
You nodded, yet again mumbling. But Dean wasn’t impatient now—he just leaned closer and gently asked you to speak again.
“Can we go home now?” You asked. Dean grinned and tugged you into his arms.
“Yeah kiddo,” he said. “Let’s go home.”

📖 ─── a cluttered scrapbook: send in any thoughts on any of the characters below for a blurb .ᐟ
omg hello congratulations??? literally love your blog sm. you’re writing is peak and so perf. i was thinking, we all know rafe is a “proactive” type of person (or so he says). so how would he react to reader giving him the silent treatment after she found out something? (maybe he was doing cocaine again after she explicitly asked him not to anymore???) and what antics would he use to get reader talking to him??
once again, congratulations to you. you deserve so much!!! so proud of you <3333
thank you so much !! i'm so sorry it took so long to get to this </3
cw: dark rafe, manipulation, controlling behavior, threats of self harm
Rafe hates the silent treatment. It feels like a slap in the face. After everything he's done for you, you can't even give him the basic respect of talking things out?
He had done a great job of hiding his ongoing cocaine addiction after you'd threatened to break up with him if he didn't stop. He absolutely couldn't stand ultimatums, being backed into a corner, but he also couldn't lose you, so he promised he would quit and get clean, even pretending to go off to a rehab facility for a month—during which he was actually going on a month-long bender in a fancy hotel up in California.
And his lies had worked. For months, he hid his addiction, leading you to believe that he was finally clean and that he had done it for you.
But then, you dropped your phone one night at his house, and it had found its way under his bed. Leaning down to retrieve it, you pushed up the bottom of his comforter and found yourself greeted by the sight of a wooden box you'd seen before—the very one you had watched Rafe throw away before he went off to "rehab".
With shaky hands, you opened the box and found yourself staring at a baggie of white powder, a substance you knew all too well.
"What are you doing?" Rafe's voice came from the doorway, sharp and defensive. He knew he had been caught, but his mind was already swirling with blame for you rather than accepting the consequences of his own actions. Why were you snooping around his room? Did you not trust him?
You looked up at him, your mind running a million miles a minute as a plethora of emotions overwhelmed you at once. You didn't want to talk to him. You could barely even stomach looking at him right now, so without a word, you grabbed your phone from where it had fallen and stood up abruptly.
He caught your arm as you tried to leave. "Oh, we're doing this now? Real mature," he scoffed at your behavior. You were being dramatic, childish even, by subjecting him to the silent treatment instead of trying to talk this out like adults.
You simply pulled your arm back from him roughly, not meeting his gaze as you pushed past him and hurried down the stairs. He should've followed you, but his pride and ego stopped him. You would come crawling back, apologizing for how you acted. He was sure of it.
But, you didn't. Days went by without a word, and he started to get antsy, started to spiral as paranoia overtook him. You were his. How dare you ignore him? Were you off with another guy? Were you with your awful Pogue friends? He couldn't stand not knowing where you were and having you with him every minute.
At first, he tried to manipulate his way out of it by feigning an apology and ending it with a guilt trip, texting you things like "Okay, I messed up, but you just shutting me out? That's fucked up. Just talk to me, baby," and "It's not like I was doing it all the time. I mean, cmon, are you really gonna throw everything away over this? It's nothing."
When you refused to be won over so easily, seeing right through his tactics, he would start showing up wherever you were—home, work, the beach, anywhere you were, he was there too, desperately trying to intimidate you into talking to him with his piercing gaze and menacing stance.
He would corner you, trying to force a reaction out of you. "So what, you're just going to act like I don't exist?" He'd ask harshly before softening, brushing a strand of hair from your face, his knuckle lightly grazing your cheek as he did. "C'mon, baby, I know you miss me, miss us." He could see the resolve in your eyes crumbling and it made him feel powerful and triumphant, but before you opened your mouth to speak, Kiara swept in, grabbing your arm and tugging you away from Rafe as she shot a glare in his direction.
This infuriated Rafe. Typical Pogue, always sticking their nose where it doesn't belong and fucking up his life.
From there, he attempted sending you expensive gifts with notes like "Just talk to me, baby. Let me fix this," and when that didn't work, he turned to threats, saying he would hurt himself or you if you didn't hear him out.
Finally, he showed up to your house in the middle of the night, his eyes bloodshot and puffy, pupils dilated. You hesitated but decided to open the door, and when you did, you felt guilty for ignoring him for so long. He looked absolutely wrecked like he hadn't eaten or slept in days. He was clenching and unclenching his jaw, leaning against the doorframe and peering down at you. His presence was heavy, the air thick with tension as neither of you spoke.
"Let me in," he demanded. His fingers twitched at his sides before he rubbed them over his jaw. "I just—fuck, I don’t even know what to do anymore, baby." His large frame blocked the doorway, making you feel small as his eyes darted wildly. You felt a mix of guilt and fear stir in your stomach. "You’re just gonna keep pretending I don’t exist? Really?" His voice dropped lower, rougher. "’Cause if you don’t talk to me now, I swear to God, I’ll—" He stopped himself, his jaw clenching as he stared at you with hardened eyes, the threat clear. You knew he meant it.
"Rafe..." You said quietly, your voice trembling slightly as you looked up at him with wide eyes, feeling like you were looking at someone you didn't recognize.
His lips quirked up in a way that sent a shiver down your spine. “That’s all I needed, baby. Just needed to hear your voice," he whispered, stepping forward to invade your space and force you backward so he could come inside. "Y'know, I'd do anything for you, right?" He asked, the question rhetorical as he reached out to grip your jaw, forcing you to look at him. "I’ve been losing my fucking mind without you. I won't lose you. I can't lose you, alright? I-I need you. You're mine, you got that? You can't just walk away. You can't just ignore me. I won't let you."

consequences
part of the Marquita series. Talks of consent, sexual assault, Jenni’s trial.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c654bb4af58cae1e9f2ab74b6f5ac3c3/9b29cd8f863365f0-1d/s540x810/d6cae58f1330297edfbfc41a052a5c4e956cc27c.jpg)
It had been odd at home for a few weeks. Your mami and Irene were always talking in hushed voices, both with frowns on their faces. Sometimes random people in suits would be in the living room when you got home.
Olga was busy with the baby, Mami with whatever secret she was dealing with and your mama? You weren’t exactly sure since she had gone radio silent on you.
Alexia knew it was time to have a conversation with you. After Rio was born, she and Jenni had sat you down to have the sex talk. Answering all the questions you had, emphasising not to look up things on the internet again and letting you know that regardless of your sexuality, they loved you.
The conversation they needed to had was around consent. None of your guardians thought you’d be having sex, or really doing anything inherently sexual, but with the trial coming up it was a conversation needed.
You were simply going through the motions. Confused as to why your mama wasn’t talking to you, even why you Tio Rafa wasn’t replying. Your phone was now left at home or in your mamis car more often. You didn’t have social media, something both parents were extremely strict about.
Sometimes you wanted to fight about with them, but then you remembered when Olga let you use her phone and you were scrolling through her instagram, the amount of hate messages, death threats and overall mean comments she received had shocked you.
There were moments, at school with you friends, that you felt like you were missing out because they all had instagram and Snapchat, but you reminded yourself about the awful things said to Olga and you didn’t think you’d cope with that.
The house was eerily quiet when you came home from school. There was no baby noises, or tv. Olga and Rio weren’t in the kitchen, office or in your Mami and Olga’s room. The lounge room was clean, untouched from the cleaner. A apart of you felt forgotten. They had gone out somewhere and forgotten you.
In a major act of defiance, you found your phone and downloaded instagram. To you, this would get their attention, make them feel bad for forgetting you. The ramifications of it didn’t even float in your mind.
It took at least half an hour to figure it out, following a few of your friends from school, as well as your Tia, Abuela and a few of the Barcelona Women’s team members but not your mami, mama or Olga.
You were so wrapped up in discovering how to use the app, you didn’t hear the keys in the front door, or the sounds of both your mami and mama walking down the hallway. It was only when your mama plucked your phone from her hand, eyebrows creased, did you realise they were there.
“Hey!-“
“Since when did you allow her to have an instagram Alexia?” You felt your body fold into itself.
“Never. Marquita, you aren’t allowed instagram. You were told this!”
Both your mami and mama were standing in front of you, mami with her arms crossed and her usual frown, your mama with one hand on her hip, the other looking at your phone.
“Why? Why did you break our trust and make an account. You know how people are, the cruel things-“
“I know! I know okay? I guess I felt left out. All my friends have it, you guys have it. Even Nala had an instagram!”
Your mama sat down in front of you, giving your phone to your mami, “this is a conversation that your mami and I need to have. Without you around.”
“Why are you here?” It clicked in your brain, your mama was here, in February, she was supposed to be in Mexico, playing a game in a few days time.
“We need to have an important, honest conversation with you.” Your mami sat down next to you, grabbing your hand.
“Are you sending me back? I’ll delete the instagram! I’ll do whatever you want but please-“
“Stop, Amor we aren’t sending you back.” Your Mami looked towards your mama, giving her a slight nod.
“Do you remember how Spain won the World Cup in Australia?” You nodded your head, of course you remembered, “there was a moment on stage that something happened. The head of the RFEF did something to me, something I didn’t like and didn’t ask for. Because of this, he stood down and there were charges filed against him and a few others. They were saying some really horrible things to me. About you, about my career and your mamis career.” You could tell she was getting emotional, maybe even a little embarrassed.
“There are certain people in this world that think they can get away with things. Usually it’s men, but sometimes it women too. If you don’t want to do something, hug someone or kiss them or whatever, never let them pressure you. It’s important that if you’re not comfortable, you don’t do it. Even if it’s a feeling in your tummy that you don’t understand, listen to it. You call me, mami, Olga, alba, abuela, or anyone on the team. We will all be there.”
“Okay.”
“Do you understand what we are saying?”
“Yeah. Don’t let anyone make me feel uncomfortable.”
“The same applies to you. If someone tells you to stop, that they are uncomfortable, you stop. Straight away. If someone expresses their discomfort after the fact, you listen, you apologise, you don’t do it again.”
“Okay I understand.”
“The reason” your Mamas voice broke as she spoke again, “I’m here is because we are going to trial. Your mami, Irene, Tio Rafa, Codi, they are all going to talk at the trial, I’m going to talk at the trial. That’s part of the reason I’ve- we’ve been so hesitant on you having social media. These people, they have been really really cruel, so have the people online and neither of us want you exposed to that.”
“Can I tell you a secret?” You asked almost shyly. Both nodded at you, “when I was on Olga’s phone, I went through her instagram. I saw the messages she gets.”
“Yes. It’s not pretty, your mami and I get them too. Alba probably does. All the girls on the team. When you’re a bit older and, um, sexual activity we will revisit this conversation. Do you have any questions about anything?”
You shook your head. At this current time, there were no questions to be asked. It was a lot of information to take in. The thought of kissing a boy or girl, was too much to think about.
“We are just going to have a chat about your instagram and phone privileges. Do you have homework to get done?”
It didn’t take long for the house to become loud again. Olga and Rio walked in right as you started your homework. Olga gave you a kiss on the head as you took Rio from her. Leaving the two of you in the lounge room as she went to join your Mami and mama in their room.
Sometimes you were jealous of Rio. He was just a baby, a baby that had no expectations, no homework, no chores. His only job was to just survive.
A short time later, your mama, Mami and Olga came out of their room. Your mami taking Rio from you and your mama wrapping her arms tightly around you.
“We have all come to an agreement. You can keep instagram on a few conditions.”
“Okay?”
“1. You make that account private. No one is allowed to follow you expect your friends, family and the girls on the team. If you don’t want them to follow you, you don’t have to accept it, but you cannot accept any strangers. Understand?”
A small smile crept on your face, “I understand.”
“Okay, number 2. You have to give the email and password to us. We are allowed to check what you’re looking at, who you’re following and who is messaging you. I know it seems like it’s controlling but it’s for your own safety.”
“Yes! Yes okay!”
“Wait, don’t get too excited. There’s one more thing: every night, at 8pm, your phone is to be in our bedroom. Just because you are getting instagram, doesn’t mean you’ll be allowed to be on it all night.”
You nodded quickly, before launching yourself at your mama and then mami and Olga. They were giving you a taste of freedom, they trusted you and you wouldn’t let them down.
Secretly, you would search your mami and mamas names. Reading the horrible things people said about them made you feel protective over them. They were the best people you knew, the strongest, most loving. It took a lot of self control and conversations with Mapi, but you learned to ignore it.

a/n: I KNOW ITS TECHNICALLY SATURDAY IM SORRY
YOU HAD BEEN SHOVED INTO A CLOSET at a loud, booming party.
“Why me?” You thought, your whole body shaking due to the possibility of someone walking into closet with you.
Just as you faced away from the door, the door bursted open, and clicked shut rather loudly.
“H-Hello?” You mumbled, turning around quickly as a hand met your shoulder.
“Please be Remus, Please be Remus..”
“Hello, Y/N.”
Shit.
“Gilderoy? You weren’t even—“
“Shh, darling. It’s fine.” He smirked disgustingly.
“I just wanted to come in here and formally apologize for being honest about my thoughts about you.” He started, and you shrunk beneath him in discomfort.
“You know— I would really be interested in you if you weren’t ‘american’” He mocked, patting your head degradingly.
“I don’t want you to be interested in me.” You tried, but Gilderoy didn’t seem to take the hint and back off.
“Ugh, you and every other girl. Always playing hard to get.” He waved his hand casually, before backing you up into the wall.
“How did you get in here?” You asked breathlessly, practically feeling the anxiety bubble up inside of you.
“Everyone’s eyes are closed out there, darling. They don’t know who went in.” He whispered sensually in your ear, before groping your chest sexually.
You didn’t know what else to do, so the second his leg shoved its way in between yours… you screamed.
Looking back, it was quite comical.
it was the first thing that came to your mind, and everyone heard it too.
REMUS HAD EVERY INTENTION OF FOLLOWING you into the closet.
But when he heard the door click— he knew he was too late.
He stressed himself out over who was in there with you, and his suspicions were shown as correct when he heard your scream.
Everyone’s eyes flicked open, then Remus and Sirius immediately stood up to “rescue” you.
“What the fuck do you think you’re playing at, Lockhart?” Sirius barked, causing Gilderoy to spin around.
“I— Black..” Legend has it— that Sirius was the only person Gilderoy was truly afraid of.
“Get your bloody arse away from her!” Sirius shouted back, before stepping into the closet and all but throwing him out.
You stood there— petrified, and Remus felt so horrible for you.
You were dragged into this, and the worst imaginable could’ve happened and almost did.
“Y/n..” Remus mused your name like a god, and walked towards you gingerly.
“Are you alright?” He knew it was a stupid question, but he might as well have asked.
“Y-yeah.” You whimpered, before involuntarily breaking down in tears.
Remus instantly wrapped his arms around you, and the world went quiet for the both of you.
“Shh.. shh, it’s alright, dove.” He cooed softly, rocking you side to side gently.
“I-I’m sorry—“ You choked out, and his heart broke.
Now— what you didn’t know, was that Remus had barely ever voluntarily hugged someone throughout his years at Hogwarts.
So Lily was staring your direction, and so was James.
“Has he ever done that before?” James asked Lily, as Sirius took all of his anger out in the form of words onto Gilderoy.
“Never, only awkward side hugs.” She shrugged, as James began to usher people away from the area.
“REMUS?” YOU STARTED, shifting to face him on the dock.
“Yes, dove?” He responded calmly.
“Lily told me that you had never hugged anyone like that, atleast— not to their knowledge.”
“Well— She’s not… wrong.” He started, his cheekbones becoming lightly dusted by pink blush.
“I don’t do hugs, usually.” Remus admitted.
“It’s alright, some people don’t like them.” You replied, with a soft smile.
“…I’ve only seen you hug me, so… I was a bit curious.” You shrugged, your teeth grazing your bottom lip gently.
“As I said, I don’t really do hugs. I mean— I’ll hug someone if they initiate it but— not out of the blue.” He responded.
“Thank you for helping me, I couldn’t think of any other way to get out then… well, scream.” You laughed shortly.
“You should really be thanking Sirius.” He brushed your compliment off.
“No, i’m thanking you.”
“Sirius beat the guy up—“
“But you comforted me, you came to me.” You stated surely.
Remus stayed quiet, as if he was trying to speak but no words were coming out.
“Do you see the difference? Sure, Sirius helped take care of the problem— but you helped me.” You insisted, and Remus’ eyes met yours once more.
“Y-You’re welcome, I guess.”
Remus wasn’t a touchy-feely person, he never had been.
He always found the world to be mundane, as many of his peers found love— he found solitude in books and his studies.
Not that he didn’t want to love— he was scared too.
Not scared to get his heart broken, scared about what he was.
He had convinced himself that he was an unloveable monster, that he was never going to be loved.
Nobody had ever told him that.
But he had always believed it to be true.
So throughout his school years, he had single-handedly turned down every single date, every single hangout, and every single opportunity.
Remus wasn’t an optimist, he was quite the opposite.
But you made him feel something he had never felt before.
It was weird, you made him feel… sunny.
But was he really ready to be loved?
Your smile after he said “You’re welcome.” light up his world and told him that maybe, just maybe, he could be loved.
“Remus?”
“Yes?”
“Have you ever kissed anyone, Remus?”
“U—Um, yeah.” He answered, surprised.
“Who was it?” You asked excitedly.
“It was years ago, and— it wasn’t very enjoyable.” He laughed, and you laughed with him.
He always wanted to make you laugh.
“Yeah, whatever. Who?” You urged.
“First time it was just some girl in third year, and I didn’t initiate it. And the rest are just drunken blurs— really.” You giggled at his response.
“I’ve never kissed anyone.”
“Really? A pretty girl, like you?” He asked, his brow quirked.
“Nope, at Ilvermorny— we weren’t allowed to be “romantically involved” with one other. So— we never tired.” You shrugged, as he moved closer.
“But— I guess that whole thing with Gilderoy really made me realize that I didn’t want my first kiss to be forced or with someone I don’t trust.”
“A valid thing to want.”
“I trust you, Remus.” He was silenced again, before you filled the gap between the both of you.
“Can I kiss you— Remus?” You asked nervously.
…
“I—I don’t want to force you to do anything—“
“Why do you want to kiss me? Out of everyone?” He moved himself back a bit, and you frowned softly.
“I— I don’t want to kiss anyone else right now…” You admitted shyly.
“You don’t want to kiss Sirius?” He cocked his head.
“I— no I don’t want to kiss him! I’m asking you!”
“Y/n, you don’t want to kiss me.” He argued.
“Says who?” You fought back.
“The universe!” He flung his arms out.
“Remus—“
“Y/n, you don’t want to kiss me.”
“But—“
“Y/n, i’m not the kind of guy you want! Trust me.” He reassured.
“Oh, yeah? And who decided that?”
“Me!”
“If you don’t like me, Remus. You can just say it.”
“N-No! I do like you, Y/n— I’m just protecting you!”
“Protecting me from what?”
“Myself!”
“Why?”
“ ‘Cause i’m a bloody Werewolf, okay?”
Once Remus had realized what he said— silence fell upon both of you.
“Remus..—“
“I have to go.” Remus stood up, quickly.
“No— please— Remus—“ You tried, standing up and following him.
“I’m dangerous, Y/n. And if you’re smart, you’ll never speak to me again.”
Remus misspoke, he knew that immediately as he continued to walk away from the Boathouse on the Black Lake.
His words hit like a bullet into your heart, how did that go so wrong?

"I just don't like the way he's looking at them,"
Cater looks up from his cup, and the foam heart he was trying to snap a pic of melts into his latte.
"You can barely see his face. And you've said that like, three times," the ginger says. "You've barely even touched your mug. It's basically iced coffee now."
Trey finally looks at Cater, his neck sore from craning over his shoulder.
His mug is cold to the touch.
"I'm starting to think you only invited me here 'cause you knew the Prefect was coming. Like, ouch," Cater smiles.
Trey's face flushes red. "What! No, I-I just thought the shop had a good deal today,"
Cater rolls his eyes.
"As much as I love drama, this is lowkey sad," he says. "You need to move on, Trey. It's been months."
Trey knows he's right, which makes his observation hurt even more. He mumbles some poor excuse into his cup of lukewarm coffee, but he can't keep his eyes to himself for long.
"He definitely goes to RSA. I don't trust him," he mutters, eyeing the boy you're with.
"Che'nya goes to RSA, doesn't he?"
"Would you trust Che'nya with your ex?"
"Yeowch. Point taken," Cater smiles, stirring his untouched latte with a dainty spoon. "So, what are you gonna do about it?"
Trey hesitates. He would have loved to just... march over there and steal you away from that pompous bastard...
But he won't.
"Nothing,"
"Pfft," Cater snorts. "You need to be more assertive, man. Otherwise we're just stalking the Prefect. Yeah, that'll impress them."
"It's not about that!! And it's not stalking!"
Cater rolls his eyes and returns to his phone, the uninvited third wheel of every outing with him.
Still, his words bother Trey. That was the problem, wasn't it? He just wasn't... assertive.
He didn't take your side, or stand up for you. He wasn't there when you needed him most, the fool. That's why you dumped him.
If assertive is what you want...
Trey stands, surprising Cater to the point of putting his phone away, and he marches across the coffee shop, brow furrowed, arms firmly at his side. The RSA boy you're with sees him first, and then you.
"Trey? What are you-"
"You," he says, pointing right at the white-uniform wearing, silver-spoon sucking little bastard.
Your jaw drops. The boys' eyes widen (does he look familiar or what?) Cater pushes his chair out, as if preparing to intervene.
Trey takes a deep breath.
"You... you treat them right, do you hear me? Prefect is the sweetest person I know, and they deserve someone just as perfect! Listen to them, okay? Be the person they can rely on, they can trust... the person I- that I wasn't. Just- you'd better be a good boyfriend, or I'll make you regret it, alright?!"
Cater sits back down. Both you and the boy you're with seem to soften, more confused than concerned now.
Trey turns and marches back to his seat. "Let's go,"
The ginger grins and looks behind him. Trey follows his gaze, and it's... you.
"Did you follow me?" you demand. His face goes bright red.
"Uh... um, I... yes. But I only wanted to make sure you were okay. That's... all I've ever wanted,"
Cater gives him a double thumbs-up. You frown, and he mutters a quick "I'll go wait outside" before darting out the door. Trey's blush darkens to crimson.
"Listen, I'm really sorry I interrupted your date. I just wanted to make sure you were being taken care of, and-"
"Trey," you stop him. "I'm not on a date. And that's not my boyfriend."
Huh.
...What?
"Oh?"
You sigh, gesturing between the two. "Trey, Neige. Neige, Trey," and you lower your voice. "I'm here on Vil's behalf. Some movie thing."
Ohh. That makes sense. Trey's face only gets redder, if possible, and he clears his throat. "...My mistake,"
Your frown softens, and you sigh.
"You couldn't have known... and... thanks for worrying about me, I guess. Maybe next time we can talk in private?"
Next time. Trey's heart flutters at the promise, if he dare call it that, and he nods.
"A-ah, of course. Next time,"

The cold air inside the ice rink nipped at your skin as you pulled your coat tighter around yourself. You weren’t much of a sports fan, but when your cousin, Chan, practically begged you to come watch his game, you couldn’t say no.
"It's gonna be fun! Just come once, and if you hate it, I won't ask again," he had insisted over the phone.
And that's how you found yourself in the bleachers, watching a group of guys in bulky gear chase a puck across the ice. You weren’t clueless—you knew the basic rules—but you weren’t about to start screaming at referees like some of the other fans. You were here for one reason: Chan.
The game was intense, fast-paced, and honestly more interesting than you expected. You followed your cousin’s movements as he skated past an opponent and passed the puck to a teammate. The crowd roared when the puck was slapped straight into the goal.
You clapped, smiling as Chan pumped his fist in the air. That’s my cousin, you thought proudly.
Then, your eyes drifted to the player who had taken the shot. Number 16. He skated back toward Chan, giving him a nod of acknowledgment before the two joined the rest of the team.
You squinted.
The name on the back of his jersey read "Chwe"
You weren’t sure why, but something about him stood out. He wasn’t showy like some of the other players who thrived on the crowd’s attention. He barely reacted after scoring, just gave a small nod before skating off.
"Who’s number 16?" you asked the girl sitting beside you, who had been squealing nonstop.
She gawked at you. "You don’t know Chwe Vernon?!"
You blinked. "Should I?"
She looked at you like you had just committed a crime. "He's literally one of the best players on the team! And super famous! His family's Korean-American, and he's been playing since he was a kid. How do you not know him?"
You shrugged. "I don’t really follow hockey."
The girl sighed dramatically. "You’re missing out. He’s, like, effortlessly cool and insanely good."
You turned back to the rink, watching as Vernon—Chwe Vernon, apparently—glided across the ice. Effortlessly cool, huh? You weren’t convinced.
After the game, you waited for Chan outside the locker rooms. The hallway was filled with people—some reporters, some fans, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the players.
When the team finally emerged, Chan spotted you instantly. "Hey!" He grinned, walking over. His hair was damp from the shower, and he still had a towel draped around his neck. "So? Did I impress you?"
"You did great," you said, ruffling his hair, making him groan. "Proud cousin moment."
"Good. I need you to come to more games for good luck."
"Don't push it," you teased.
Before he could respond, someone else walked past you—number 16. Vernon.
Chan called out to him. "Hyung!"
Vernon turned his head slightly, slowing his pace. Up close, you noticed how sharp his features were. He had this laid-back, unreadable expression, like nothing ever surprised him.
Chan gestured toward you. "This is my cousin, the one I told you about."
You arched a brow. "You talked about me?"
Chan ignored you. "This is Vernon."
Vernon gave you a short nod. "Hey."
That was it. Just one word. No handshake, no smile.
You crossed your arms. "Wow, you’re a real talker, huh?"
Chan coughed, trying to stifle a laugh.
Vernon just blinked. "Not really."
You stared at him, waiting for him to say more. He didn't. This guy was something else.
"Well, okay" you said your name, breaking the silence. "Since we’re introducing ourselves and all."
He nodded again. "Cool."
You squinted at him. "Do you always talk in one-word sentences?"
He tilted his head slightly, as if considering your question. "Depends."
You exhaled sharply, turning to Chan. "I’m leaving. This guy’s impossible."
Chan laughed. "That’s just how he is."
You gave Vernon one last glance. He wasn’t unfriendly, just... different. Quiet. Detached.
And yet, something about him made you curious.
A few days later, Chan texted you.
Chan: Come to our next game. You: Why? Chan: Because I bet Vernon you wouldn’t come. You: …You bet on me? Chan: Yeah. He said you wouldn’t bother. I said you would. You: What do I get if I show up? Chan: The satisfaction of proving Vernon wrong. You: Tempting. Chan: Also, if I win, Vernon has to buy me dinner. So do it for me.
You sighed, staring at the text. You weren’t the type to back down from a challenge. Contemplating for only a few moments before shooting Chan one last message saying you'd go.
And maybe, just maybe, you’d get a reaction out of Vernon this time.
The next game rolled around quicker than expected. You hadn’t initially planned to attend, but the thought of proving Vernon wrong was too tempting.
So there you were, sitting in the bleachers again, this time with a smirk on your face as you spotted number 16 skating onto the ice.
Chan was the first to notice you. From where he stood, he shot you a triumphant grin, raising his fist in victory. You lifted your hand in a mock salute, acknowledging the win.
Vernon, on the other hand, took a bit longer to spot you. When he did, you could swear there was a brief flicker of surprise in his usually impassive expression. His eyes met yours for a split second before he coolly looked away. No reaction, no acknowledgment—just Vernon being Vernon.
Oh, so that’s how he wanted to play it? Fine.
The game started, and as expected, it was intense. You found yourself getting more invested than last time, especially when Chan assisted in another goal. But what caught your attention the most was Vernon. He was ridiculously fast on the ice, his movements so fluid and effortless that it was almost unfair to the opposing team.
By the time the final buzzer rang, their team had won. The crowd erupted into cheers, and even you found yourself clapping.
Chan was practically bouncing when he ran over to you after the game. “Ha! Told you! I knew you’d come.”
You smirked. “Enjoy your free dinner.”
Before Chan could respond, Vernon walked up behind him. His damp hair clung slightly to his forehead, and he looked as composed as ever despite just finishing a game.
“You actually showed up,” he said, voice neutral.
“I did.” You crossed your arms. “Surprised?”
He shrugged. “A little.”
You narrowed your eyes. “Not gonna admit you were wrong?”
He blinked, considering. “Nope.”
Chan burst out laughing. “He’d rather die than say that.”
You turned back to Vernon. “Well, I did come. So now you owe Chan dinner. Hope you have deep pockets.”
Vernon sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Guess I do.”
You weren’t sure why, but the idea of Vernon being slightly inconvenienced by this bet made you a little too satisfied.
Chan clapped a hand on Vernon’s shoulder. “Since I’m getting a free meal, you should come too.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Me?”
Chan nodded. “Yeah, you’re the reason I won the bet. Might as well let you enjoy the victory too.”
You glanced at Vernon, half-expecting him to protest, but he just nodded. “Up to you.”
You weren’t sure if he genuinely didn’t care or if he was just going along with it because Chan said so. Either way, you weren’t about to back down.
“Fine,” you said. “Let’s go.”
You ended up at a small Korean barbecue place not too far from the rink. It wasn’t fancy, but it smelled amazing. Vernon, true to his word, paid without complaint, though you noticed he didn’t exactly look thrilled about it. You didn’t feel bad in the slightest.
As the food started cooking, Chan filled the silence with his usual chatter. You had always liked how easygoing he was, able to carry conversations without effort.
“So,” Chan said, turning to Vernon. “What do you think of my cousin?”
You nearly choked on your drink. “What kind of question is that?”
Chan grinned mischievously. “I just wanna know. Vernon’s not really a people person, so I’m curious.”
You turned your gaze to Vernon, expecting some deadpan answer like “She’s fine” or “She exists.”
Instead, he looked directly at you and said, “She’s different.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Different how?”
He tilted his head slightly, considering his words. “Most people try too hard. You don’t.”
You blinked. That was… surprisingly insightful.
Chan nodded approvingly. “That’s a compliment, by the way. Vernon doesn’t say much, but when he does, he means it.”
You studied Vernon for a moment. He was still as unreadable as ever, but now you were intrigued. “Well, thanks, I guess.”
Dinner continued with casual conversation, mostly dominated by Chan. Vernon remained quiet but occasionally chimed in with a dry comment that made you laugh more than expected.
By the end of the night, you realized something strange.
You didn’t dislike him.
In fact, you kind of wanted to see what it would take to get a real reaction out of him.
A week later, you got an unexpected text from Chan.
Chan: You’re not gonna believe this. You: What? Chan: Vernon just asked if you were coming to the next game. You: …You’re lying. Chan: I’m dead serious. He just asked me out of nowhere.
You stared at your phone, processing.
Vernon? Asking about you?
Interesting.
You: Tell him to ask me himself. Chan: LMAO you’re evil.
A few minutes later, another text came in.
Unknown Number: Are you coming? - Vernon
You smirked. So he finally cracked.
This was going to be fun.
Sitting at your desk, you stretched your arms, feeling the exhaustion settle into your bones. The clock on your laptop read 11:47 PM, and you still weren’t done with the reports your supervisor had asked for last minute.
You sighed, rubbing your temples. You hadn’t expected your internship to be this demanding, but then again, you had never been the type to slack off. If you were going to do something, you were going to do it well.
Your phone buzzed beside you.
Vernon: Heard you were busy.
You blinked. Of all people, he was texting you? You smirked, quickly typing back.
You: Look at you, sending full sentences. I’m impressed.
A few seconds passed before the typing bubble appeared.
Vernon: I can type. You: Could’ve fooled me.
You leaned back in your chair, biting your lip. Was it bad that you found this amusing?
You weren’t expecting another text, but then—
Vernon: …You gonna come next time?
Your eyebrows raised slightly. So he did notice you weren’t there.
You debated your response, then decided to push his buttons a little.
You: Why? Did you miss me?
This time, the reply didn’t come immediately. You wondered if you had caught him off guard.
Finally, after a minute—
Vernon: Maybe.
Your fingers hovered over the keyboard.
You: …Huh. Didn’t expect that. Vernon: Yeah. Me neither.
That made you pause.
You had been joking before, but now… was he actually admitting something?
You stared at your screen for a moment before shaking your head. No way. This is Vernon. He doesn’t just say things like that.
You decided to test the waters.
You: Careful, Chwe. Almost sounded like you like having me around.
This time, his reply came quicker.
Vernon: Don’t get ahead of yourself. You: Good night, hockey boy. Vernon: Night.
Setting your phone down, you exhaled. That was unexpected.
And oddly… kind of nice.
A few days passed, and you found yourself back to your usual routine—internship, assignments, barely enough time to breathe.
You hadn’t planned on going to the next hockey game either, but then Chan called. "Please," he whined over the phone. "Vernon’s been weird since you didn’t come last time."
You frowned. "Weird how?"
"I don’t know! Just… quiet."
You snorted. "Vernon’s always quiet."
"Yeah, but this time it’s different. Like he’s thinking about something."
That made you pause.
"Are you telling me you think Vernon missed me?" you teased.
Chan groaned. "I’m saying something’s up with him, and I think you should come see for yourself."
You hesitated. You really didn’t have the time, but… now you were curious.
"Fine," you said, "but if I show up and he acts the same, you owe me coffee."
Chan laughed. "Deal."
When you stepped into the ice rink the following evening, the familiar chill made you shiver. You spotted the team warming up, Chan already waving at you from the ice.
Your eyes flickered to Vernon.
He was stretching near the goal, looking as calm and composed as ever. But when he turned his head and spotted you in the stands, something shifted in his expression. It wasn’t dramatic—just a small pause, a barely-there flicker of acknowledgment.
Then, as if nothing happened, he looked away.
You smirked.
Yeah. He definitely noticed.
As the game started, you found yourself watching him more closely. He was fast, efficient, never wasted movement. But every now and then, when there was a break in play, you swore he glanced in your direction.
By the time the game ended, you were already preparing a sarcastic remark for when you saw him.
Chan met you outside the locker room first. "Told you he was acting weird."
You shrugged. "He looks the same to me."
"Trust me," Chan said, "for Vernon, that was basically a full-blown confession."
Before you could respond, Vernon appeared in the hallway. His damp hair fell over his forehead, his usual quiet presence making him seem effortlessly cool.
"You’re here," he said, stopping in front of you.
You crossed your arms. "You sound surprised."
He met your gaze. "A little."
You tilted your head. "Miss me?"
Vernon exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. "You always ask that."
"And you never give me an answer."
He paused, then—
"Maybe."
You blinked. Well that was new. Before you could say anything, he walked past you, heading toward the exit. But as he did, he spoke just loud enough for you to hear
"See you next game."
You stared after him, lips slowly curling into a smile.
Another game day.
The rink buzzed with energy as another game night rolled in. The usual excitement from the crowd filled the air, fans from both teams eager to see their favorites go head-to-head.
Vernon adjusted his helmet as he skated onto the ice, his mind focused—until Chan nudged him.
“Look,” Chan said, nodding toward the stands.
Vernon followed his gaze, and there you were.
His brow furrowed slightly. He wasn’t expecting you. Usually, you’d give Chan a heads-up if you were coming.
“Guess she had time after all,” Chan muttered, but there was something in his tone—something suspicious.
Before Vernon could ask, his eyes flickered to the opposing team warming up. That’s when he saw it. You weren’t just watching the game. You were standing near the barrier, laughing. With him.
Lee Seokmin.
Forward for the rival team. Loud, energetic, and way too familiar with you.
Vernon’s grip on his stick tightened slightly as he watched Seokmin grin at you, leaning against the boards like this was some casual meet-up and not a competitive match.
Chan turned to Vernon, eyes wide. “Did I miss something, or do they know each other?”
“I don’t know,” Vernon said flatly, but now he really wanted to.
After warm-ups, the team headed back to the locker room. Vernon kept quiet, but Chan wasn’t letting this go.
“Okay, seriously,” he said, shoving his helmet into his bag. “What is going on? Why is my cousin talking to Seokmin?”
Joshua, another teammate, overheard and raised an eyebrow. “Wait, your cousin? She knows Seokmin?”
“I don’t know!” Chan said, exasperated. “She didn’t tell me anything.”
Vernon untied his skates, processing. He wasn’t sure why this bugged him, but it did. You weren’t the type to be friendly just for the sake of it—so if you were joking around with Seokmin, there had to be history there.
And for some reason, that annoyed him.
After the game, which ended in a close win for Vernon’s team, you were waiting outside the locker room.
Chan wasted no time. “Alright,” he said, crossing his arms. “Explain.”
You blinked. “Explain what?”
He gestured toward the rink. “Why were you laughing it up with Seokmin before the game?”
You gave him a look. “Because we’re friends?”
Chan’s eyes narrowed. “Since when?”
You sighed, already predicting this reaction. “We used to date. A long time ago. Now we’re just friends.”
Chan’s jaw dropped. Vernon, standing next to him, simply blinked.
“…You dated him?” Chan asked, as if the words didn’t make sense together.
“For, like, five months. It wasn’t that serious.”
Vernon finally spoke. “Why’d you break up?”
You turned to him, surprised he even asked. “We were better off as friends.”
Vernon’s expression didn’t change, but he held your gaze for a beat longer than usual.
Chan, still recovering, groaned. “I feel betrayed.”
You laughed. “Relax, it’s not that deep.”
Seokmin’s voice interrupted. “Are we talking about me?”
You turned to see Seokmin approaching, still in his team jacket, his ever-present grin in place.
Chan groaned louder. “Oh my god.”
Seokmin laughed, nudging you. “Did you tell them how you used to cheer for my team?”
You smirked. “I left that part out.”
Chan looked like he was about to collapse. “This is so much worse than I thought.”
Vernon, still quiet, glanced between you and Seokmin before saying, “So you’re just friends now?”
You nodded. “Yeah”
He doesn't say anything after that but you could tell there was definitely a reason. And you weren’t going to let it go unnoticed. Meanwhile, Chan was still staring at you like you had just confessed to some deep, dark secret.
“Wait, wait, wait.” He held up a hand. “You mean to tell me that all this time, you and Seokmin—”
“Dated?” Seokmin finished helpfully, grinning. “Yeah, man. Keep up.”
Chan dramatically pressed a hand to his forehead. “How did I not know this? How did no one tell me?”
You shrugged. “We broke up before you even joined the team, and it wasn’t that serious. Plus, you were busy with your own stuff.”
Chan looked genuinely offended. “I feel like I should have felt it or something. Like a disturbance in the Force.”
You rolled your eyes. “Okay, Jedi.”
Meanwhile, Vernon was watching the entire conversation with his usual unreadable expression, but something about his posture was different. He was listening.
Seokmin clapped a hand on Chan’s shoulder. “It’s okay, buddy. You’re just slow.”
Chan smacked his hand away. “I’m not slow, I just—ugh! This is so weird!”
You smirked. “Why? Because you hate the idea of me dating anyone or because it’s Seokmin?”
“…Both.” Chan groaned. “This is, like, finding out your best friend and your worst enemy were secretly besties behind your back.”
Seokmin gasped. “Worst enemy? I thought we were friends!”
“You’re my rival, not my friend,” Chan shot back.
Seokmin patted his shoulder. “Rival is just another word for friend who won’t admit it.”
You stifled a laugh as Chan let out another dramatic groan. But while Chan was too busy overreacting, Vernon was still quiet.
You turned to him, raising an eyebrow. “You good, hockey boy?”
His eyes flickered to yours, and for a second, he hesitated. Then, in his usual calm voice, he said, “Just surprised. That’s all.”
Seokmin grinned. “Vernon, don’t tell me you’re jealous.”
Vernon blinked at him. “Why would I be?”
Seokmin shrugged. “I don’t know. You tell me.”
For a fraction of a second, you swore you saw a flicker of something in Vernon’s expression. Annoyance? Amusement? Something in between?
But, as always, he kept it cool. “Not jealous.”
“Sure,” Seokmin said, clearly not convinced.
You smirked, deciding to push Vernon a little. “I was a great girlfriend.”
Vernon’s eyes flicked to yours again, this time holding your gaze.
“Yeah?” he asked, voice unreadable.
You tilted your head. “Yeah.”
A slow, almost imperceptible smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. “I’ll take your word for it.”
Seokmin looked between the two of you and let out a low whistle. “Huh. Interesting.”
Chan narrowed his eyes. “Don’t say it.”
Seokmin grinned. “I think your cousin has a new favorite hockey player.”
Chan groaned for the fourth time. “I hate everything about tonight.”
You just laughed. But the thing was—Seokmin might not have been entirely wrong.
The night air was crisp as you stepped into the parking lot with Chan and Vernon. The game had ended, and while the rivalry on the ice had been intense, the real battle had been you versus Chan’s endless questions about Seokmin.
Vernon had offered to drive both of you home, claiming it was “on the way,” but you were starting to suspect he just wanted to witness the soap opera unfolding in real time.
Chan, still in full interrogation mode, walked beside you. “Okay, but seriously—how did it even start?”
You sighed, exasperated. “I already told you, Chan. We dated, we broke up, we’re friends now. That’s it.”
Chan scoffed. “That’s not it! I need details. Like, who made the first move?”
Seokmin’s grinning face flashed in your mind. “He did.”
Chan gasped dramatically. “Seokmin made the first move?! What did he do, trip over his own skates and land in your lap?”
You laughed. “No, idiot. He was actually really sweet.”
Vernon unlocked the car and got in without a word, letting Chan get it all out of his system before the drive even started.
As soon as you all settled inside, Chan still wasn’t done.
“So let me get this straight,” he continued from the passenger seat, twisting around to face you. “You, my very strong, very independent cousin, voluntarily dated a hockey player?”
You rolled your eyes. “Yes, Chan. I, a normal human being, dated another normal human being. Groundbreaking.”
Chan shook his head, like this was the biggest scandal of the century. “You always said you’d never date an athlete.”
“Right,” you deadpanned. “Which is why I’m never dating a hockey player again.”
Vernon, silent up until now, suddenly coughed beside Chan. Both you and Chan turned to him.
Vernon kept his eyes on the road, shifting gears like nothing happened.
Chan squinted. “You good?”
Vernon nodded, completely unfazed. “Yeah. Just dry air.”
You raised an eyebrow, amused. “Uh-huh.”
Chan threw his hands up. “Okay, now I really need to know what went down.”
You sighed dramatically. “Do you really want to hear about my tragic love story, or do you want Vernon to get us home in one piece?”
Chan hesitated before reluctantly turning back around. “Fine. But this conversation isn’t over.”
From the driver’s seat, Vernon finally spoke again—his voice smooth, unreadable.
“Yeah,” he murmured, eyes still on the road. “I bet it isn’t.”
Something about the way he said it made you glance at him again. Maybe it was just your imagination. Or maybe, just maybe, Vernon was thinking about how you might not keep that promise after all.
The hum of the engine filled the car as Vernon smoothly maneuvered through the late-night traffic. The city lights blurred past, casting fleeting shadows across his face. You sat in the backseat, arms crossed, while Chan sat in the passenger seat, still digesting your revelation about Seokmin.
"Okay," Chan started again, shifting to look at you, "so you’re telling me you went from hating the idea of dating an athlete to actually dating one?"
You groaned. "Chan—"
"No, no," he interrupted, waving his hands. "I just need to understand the timeline. When did this betrayal happen?"
Vernon let out a short breath, which you swore sounded like a laugh, though his face remained unreadable.
"You make it sound like I committed a crime," you said, rolling your eyes. "It was, like, a year and a half ago."
Chan gasped. "A year and a half ago?! That recently? And I’m just finding out now?"
"Look, it wasn’t a big deal," you said. "We went on a few dates, had fun, realized we were better as friends, and that was that."
Vernon, still focused on the road, finally spoke. "You broke up with him?"
You glanced at him through the rearview mirror. His voice was as calm as ever, but something about the way he asked made you curious.
"Technically, yeah," you admitted.
Chan groaned again. "Of course you broke up with him. You probably made him think it was his idea, too." Seokmin had been a little blindsided, but you weren’t about to admit that.
"You say that like it’s a bad thing," you said, smirking.
Chan turned back to Vernon. "See? This is why I tell people not to mess with my cousin. She’s too powerful."
Vernon finally looked at you through the mirror, his gaze unreadable. "Yeah," he murmured, "I can see that."
Something about the way he said it made your stomach flip.
Chan, oblivious, continued his rant. "But seriously, what did he do that made you swear off hockey players forever? Did he forget your anniversary? Get too competitive?"
You shrugged. "Nah. I just don’t want to deal with the whole team rivalries, constant traveling, always being second to the sport thing. Hockey players are a lot of work."
Vernon coughed again.
Chan turned to him, frowning. "Dude, do you need water?"
Vernon cleared his throat. "I’m fine."
You smirked. "Are you sure? You seem… distracted."
Vernon glanced at you briefly before returning his focus to the road. "Just listening."
"Hmm." You leaned back. "Well, anyway, I learned my lesson. I’m sticking to normal people now."
Chan snorted. "Normal people?"
"Yeah. You know—guys with normal schedules, normal jobs, no risk of getting concussed every other week."
Vernon’s hands flexed on the steering wheel.
Chan laughed. "I give it two months before you go back on that."
You raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And why is that?"
"Because," Chan said, smirking, "you like the chaos too much. Admit it, you love being involved in hockey drama. You thrive on it."
You gasped, pretending to be offended. "Excuse me! I am very peaceful."
Vernon finally spoke again, his tone deadpan. "Sure."
You narrowed your eyes at him. "Are you siding with Chan?"
"I mean," Vernon said, shrugging, "you are sitting in a hockey player’s car, after attending a hockey game, while arguing about hockey."
Chan burst out laughing. "Oh my god, he’s got a point."
You huffed. "Okay, fine. Maybe I tolerate the chaos. But that doesn’t mean I’ll date another hockey player."
Vernon didn’t say anything but when you glanced at him through the mirror again, he had the faintest hint of a smirk on his lips.
Like he knew something you didn’t.
The rest of the ride was quieter. Chan was scrolling through his phone, occasionally making dramatic sighs about his “betrayal,” while Vernon drove smoothly through the streets.
At one point, you rested your chin on your hand, watching the buildings blur past. Despite the chaos of the evening, there was something… nice about being in Vernon’s car. He was steady, dependable. Even with Chan’s endless commentary, he never seemed irritated. Just patient.
When Vernon finally pulled up to Chan’s place, your cousin unbuckled his seatbelt and sighed dramatically. "Alright, I guess I’ll forgive you. For now."
You smirked. "Gee, thanks."
Chan opened the door but paused, glancing between you and Vernon. Then, with a knowing smirk, he said, "You two have fun."
Before you could question him, he hopped out and disappeared inside.
You scoffed. "What was that about?"
Vernon hummed. "Not sure."
But he definitely looked like he knew. with Chan gone, the car suddenly felt… quieter.
Vernon shifted slightly, one hand resting on the gear shift. "Where to?"
You blinked. "Huh?"
"Your place," he said simply. "Where is it?"
"Oh." You gave him the directions, and he nodded, smoothly pulling back onto the road. For a few minutes, neither of you spoke. It wasn’t awkward, though. Just… different.
"So," Vernon finally said, glancing at you through the mirror, "never dating a hockey player again?"
You smirked. "That’s the plan."
"Hmm." He didn’t sound convinced.
You tilted your head. "Why? You don’t think I can do it?"
Vernon let out a small breath—almost a chuckle. "I just think… you might change your mind."
You raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what makes you say that?"
He slowed to a stop at a red light, then turned his head slightly, meeting your eyes.
"Just a feeling," he said simply.
You held his gaze, searching for something—anything—in his expression. But, as always, Vernon was unreadable. Calm. Completely in control.
Yet, for some reason, your heart did a weird little flip.
You scoffed, looking away. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but I’m done with hockey boys."
Vernon tapped his fingers against the wheel. "Mm."
The light turned green, and he pulled forward. And though he didn’t say anything else, the ghost of a smirk lingered on his lips.
When he finally pulled up in front of your building, he put the car in park but didn’t move to unlock the doors yet. Instead, he rested his wrist on the steering wheel and turned his head slightly toward you.
"You sure about that?"
You blinked. "Huh?"
He kept his gaze on you, calm and unreadable. "About being done with hockey players."
You scoffed. "Yeah, I’m sure."
Vernon hummed, like he wasn’t convinced.
Your eyes narrowed. "Why? You think I’m lying?"
He shrugged, like it didn’t matter. "I think people say things they don’t mean all the time."
You frowned. "Well, I do mean it."
Vernon tilted his head, studying you like you were some kind of puzzle he was trying to solve. Then, after a moment, he said, "Wanna bet?"
Your brows shot up. "Excuse me?"
He leaned back, resting his arm on the car door. "Bet me that you won’t date another hockey player."
You let out an incredulous laugh. "What are we, twelve?"
Vernon just raised an eyebrow, waiting.
You rolled your eyes. "Fine. What’s at stake?"
His lips curled slightly—barely noticeable, but there. "Winner gets whatever they want."
You raised a skeptical brow. "Like… money?"
Vernon shook his head. "Nope."
"Then what?"
He exhaled through his nose, thinking for a second before saying, "Bragging rights."
"That’s it?"
"That’s it," Vernon confirmed.
You squinted at him. "You’re really so confident that I’ll cave and date another hockey player?"
Vernon didn’t even hesitate. "Yeah."
Something about his unwavering confidence made you cross your arms. "Okay, fine. It’s a bet. I will never date another hockey player again."
Vernon nodded. "Cool." Then, finally, he reached over and unlocked the doors.
You narrowed your eyes. "Wait. What happens if I win?"
His lips twitched slightly, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Then you get to rub it in my face."
You smirked. "Oh, I will."
Vernon just shrugged, like he wasn’t worried in the slightest.
That irritated you even more.
"Goodnight, hockey boy," you said, reaching for the door handle.
Vernon’s response was so quiet you almost didn’t catch it. "Goodnight," he murmured. Then, as you stepped out, he added, "See you around."
Something about the way he said it sent a shiver down your spine.
Like he already knew how this was going to end.
Like he was just waiting.
The bet was stupid.
You knew it was stupid the second you agreed to it, and yet… it bothered you. Not because you thought you’d lose—because you wouldn’t. There was no way you’d fall for another hockey player.
No, what bothered you was Vernon’s confidence. The way he’d looked at you, calm and collected, like he already knew how this would play out. Like he wasn’t guessing, but rather waiting.
And that? That was infuriating.
So you did the only logical thing.
You ignored it.
For an entire week, you threw yourself into work, into your internship, into anything that would keep you too busy to think about Vernon or his stupid, smug little bet.
And it worked. Kind of.
When you arrived at the rink, you told yourself you were not looking for him.
You weren’t scanning the ice, weren’t checking the players warming up, weren’t—
Oh.
There he was.
Vernon stood near the bench, adjusting his gloves, looking annoyingly good in his gear. He wasn’t flashy like some of the other guys, but he had this effortless kind of presence—calm, confident, and completely unbothered.
Which only made you more bothered.
You turned back to Chan. "I hate you for bringing me here."
Chan grinned. "Love you too, cousin."
A whistle blew, signaling the players to line up, and as Vernon skated past, he glanced toward the stands. His eyes found yours immediately.
And then—he smirked. Like he knew you’d be here.
Your stomach flipped, and you immediately turned to Chan. "I take it back. I really hate you."
Chan just laughed. "No, you don’t."
The game started, and you did your best to focus. But it was hard when you were hyper-aware of one player in particular and every time you told yourself you were imagining things, that Vernon wasn’t paying any special attention to you.
He’d prove you wrong.
A glance before a faceoff. A lingering look after a goal. A subtle smirk every time he skated near your side of the rink.
And the worst part?
You knew he was doing it on purpose.
By the time the game ended, you were fully prepared to never attend another one again.
You tried to ignore Vernon.
You really did.
But ignoring Vernon was impossible when he wasn’t ignoring you.
Every game you attended, he’d look for you. Every time he saw you, there was a smirk, a glance, a knowing look that said I’m still winning.
And the worst part?
You caught yourself looking for him too.
It was small things at first—wondering if he’d be at the team hangouts, noticing when he was not at practice, catching yourself staring a second too long during games.
You were slipping.
And you hated it.
You were officially avoiding Vernon.
It wasn’t obvious avoidance. You weren’t hiding behind corners or diving into bushes when you saw him. No, you were subtle.
You stopped showing up to games as often. You made excuses whenever Chan invited you to team hangouts. You even started leaving early when you knew Vernon might be around.
And for a while, it worked.
Until it didn’t.
Because Vernon wasn’t stupid.
And unfortunately for you, he was patient.
He wasn’t mad you were avoiding him. He wasn’t giving up.
He was just waiting. Waiting for you to stop fighting yourself. Waiting for you to let yourself have something good. And somehow that was worse because you could handle anger.
But patience?
Patience made you want to give in.
It happened at a café. You were minding your own business, fully immersed in your laptop, when suddenly a chair scraped against the floor in front of you.
You looked up and there he was.
Vernon.
Sitting across from you like it was the most natural thing in the world.
You blinked. "What—"
"You’re avoiding me," he said.
You scoffed. "No, I’m not."
"You are."
"I’m busy."
Vernon nodded. "Sure."
You clenched your jaw. "I am."
Vernon took a sip of his coffee, completely unbothered. "You were at every game before. Then, suddenly, you’re not. Feels personal."
"It’s not," you lied.
"Right."
You exhaled sharply, tapping your fingers against the table. "Is this why you sat here? To call me out?"
"Partly," Vernon admitted.
"And the other part?"
He tilted his head. "I missed you."
Your brain short-circuited. "Excuse me?"
Vernon shrugged. "It was more fun when you were around."
You stared at him. "Are you messing with me?"
"Nope."
"Vernon."
"Hm?"
"You’re being weird."
He smirked. "Or maybe you just don’t know how to deal with me being serious."
Your stomach flipped. Okay. This was dangerous territory. He was right and your brain can't process the situation, you're so used to his one word remarks and nonchalance. But this feels like something your heart isn't prepared for.
You forced a laugh. "Nice try, but I’m not falling for it."
Vernon leaned back, watching you closely. "You sure?"
You clenched your jaw. "Yes."
"Okay," he said easily.
After a while he did leave you alone, even though he wanted to stay and banter with you some more because these days it seems that his main source of entertainment is to get under your skin. Coach called for a meeting. After a quick goodbye you find yourself alone again.
Later that day though, Chan came to your apartment. The moment you saw Chan, you regretted telling him anything.
Because instead of sympathy, he just grinned.
"You’re doomed."
You glared at him. "I am not."
"Vernon likes you."
You crossed your arms. "He does not."
"Okay, and you like him."
"Chan."
"You’re in denial."
You groaned. "Can you be normal for once?"
Chan ignored you. "You realize Vernon is going to win, right?"
"He isn’t."
"Uh-huh. Keep telling yourself that."
You threw a pillow at him.
It happened at the worst possible time. You were at another game (against your better judgment), sitting next to Chan, when the unthinkable happened... Vernon scored.
And you.... you cheered. Loudly. Enthusiastically.
And worst of all?
Vernon heard.
He turned immediately, locking eyes with you from across the rink.
Vernon, still looking at you, winked.
You were still recovering from what happened during the game. The team had won, meaning the energy in the rink was electric. Fans cheered, players celebrated, and you?
You were debating leaving immediately before Vernon found you. But before you could execute your escape Chan grabbed your arm. "Oh no. You’re not running away."
You scowled. "I’m not running. I just have things to do."
"Like avoiding Vernon?"
"Exactly."
Chan shook his head, dragging you toward the locker rooms. "Nope. You’re gonna face your feelings like an adult."
"I am an adult. And my adult decision is denial."
"That’s not how it works."
"It’s worked for me so far."
Chan ignored you, you hear the pushing open of the locker room door before Chan screams "Hey, Vernon! Your biggest fan is here."
You smacked Chan’s arm. "I hate you."
"Hey."
Vernon.
Standing right there, fresh out of the shower, towel around his neck, still slightly damp from the game and he's looking directly at you.
Chan grinned. "I’ll leave you two alone."
You turned sharply. "You traitor—"
But he was already gone. You were going to kill him. You thought but first you had to deal with Vernon.
"Good game."
Vernon smirked. "I could tell. You were very excited when I scored."
You rolled your eyes. "It was an automatic reaction."
"Right."
"It’s called sportsmanship."
"Uh-huh."
You exhaled sharply. "You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?"
"A little," he admitted.
You crossed your arms. "If you’re expecting me to confess I like you, it’s not happening."
Vernon hummed. "You just did, though."
Your jaw dropped. "I did not."
"You said, ‘if you’re expecting me to confess I like you,’ which implies there’s something to confess."
You blinked. "I hate you."
Vernon grinned. "No, you don’t."
You clenched your fists. "This is a nightmare."
Vernon tilted his head. "So… when are you taking me on a date?"
You nearly choked. "Excuse me?"
"You lost the bet, right?"
"I did not lose the bet!"
You were completely and utterly screwed.
You should have known he wouldn’t let you get away with avoiding him because, a few days later, he showed up outside the building where you were doing your internship. You nearly dropped your bag when you spotted him standing near the entrance.
"What the hell are you doing here?" you hissed, marching up to him.
Vernon looked amused. "Visiting."
"Visiting who?"
"You."
You stared at him. "Why?"
Vernon shoved his hands in his pockets, looking far too casual. "Because you’re avoiding me."
"I am not avoiding you."
"You are."
You groaned. "Why do you do this?"
Vernon tilted his head. "Because it’s fun."
"For who?"
He smirked. "Me." You were going to lose your mind. You were seriously debating throwing your very heavy tote bag at him and his smug face.
Vernon glanced past you into the building. "So, this is where you spend all your time now?"
"Yes," you said firmly. "Because I’m busy."
Vernon nodded. "So busy you don’t have time for a date?"
Your brain short-circuited.
"What?"
Vernon shrugged. "A date. With me."
You blinked at him. "You’re joking."
"I’m not."
You stared. "You do remember the bet, right?"
"Yep."
"And that I refuse to date another hockey player?"
Vernon nodded. "Still waiting on that to work out for you."
You exhaled sharply. "I’m not dating you."
"Yet," Vernon added.
"Ever."
"We’ll see."
"STOP SAYING THAT" you all but scream at him, the way he's looking at you right now is making you want to pull all your hair out.
Vernon smirked, taking a step closer. "Admit it. You like me."
You scowled. "I will never admit that."
Vernon hummed. "Okay."
Too calm.
Too smug.
You knew he didn’t believe you and somehow, that was infinitely worse. You had spent days trying to push down the realization that you might actually—God forbid—like Vernon. And somehow, in those same days, he got worse.
Not in an annoying way.
No.
Vernon had started being… sweet. Not the obvious kind. Not the cheesy, over-the-top, grand gestures kind. But Vernon’s kind.
Small things.
Subtle things.
Things that made you notice how well he knew you. Like how he always made sure you had a seat at the games, whether you said you were coming or not. Or how he started bringing you coffee without asking, without a word just sliding it in front of you at the rink like it was normal.
Or how, when you stayed late at your internship, your phone would buzz with a single text:
Vernon: Don’t walk home alone. I’ll pick you up.
(And when you argued, he’d just show up anyway.)
It was infuriating.
Because it was working.
And somehow, you were losing the bet in real time.
It happened after a late game.
You weren’t supposed to go. You had convinced yourself you wouldn’t go and yet you find yourself sitting at the bleachers again waiting for the game to finish.
You blamed Chan. (And also yourself.)
You stayed after, waiting for Chan, when suddenly a hoodie dropped over your head. You startled, pulling it off. "What the—"
You turned and Vernon was there. He looked at you, completely unaffected. "It’s cold."
You blinked. "I—what—"
"Just wear it."
You hesitated, staring down at it.
It was his hoodie.
Still warm. Still smelling like him.
And for some reason you put it on. You didn't put up a fight, didn't say another snarky remark. You just put it on. Vernon nodded, satisfied, then leaned against the wall next to you.
Neither of you spoke. For the first time, it wasn’t teasing, wasn’t banter.
It was just—quiet.
"You know," Vernon said suddenly, "I like you."
Your breath caught.
You turned to him. "What?"
Vernon exhaled, tilting his head to look at you. "I like you."
Just like that. No hesitation. No we’ll see. No denial.
Just the truth.
You swallowed, avoiding his eyes now. You put your hands inside the pocket of his hoodie, toying with your fingers as you look at anywhere but him.
"You’re just saying that because you want to win."
Vernon shook his head. "I already won."
You stared at him. "You did not—"
"You’re wearing my hoodie."
You opened your mouth then closed it.
Because damn it—he was right.
And the worst part? For the first time you didn’t want to fight it.
After that, it's like everything was normal again. For Vernon, not for you. You had not recovered from Vernon’s confession. Mostly because he didn’t bring it up again. No teasing. No rubbing it in.
He just—let it sit which somehow made it worse because now, you were the one thinking about it.
About him.
About how easy it would be to just… give in.
And then one night, after another late shift, you walked outside and found him waiting leaning against his car. Hands in his pockets.
Like it was normal.
You sighed. "Vernon—"
"I know," he said. "You didn’t ask me to come."
You stared at him. "Then why did you?"
Vernon shrugged. "Because I knew you’d be tired."
Your chest tightened. You swallowed. "You really like me, huh?" you say, voice barely a whisper but he heard you. He heard you loud and clear.
"Yeah."
You like Vernon.
You like Vernon not just in a haha, he’s annoying but funny way. Not just in a he’s hot but I’d never admit it way but in a real, terrifying, no-going-back way and the realization hit you so hard that you had to physically sit down.
Chan, ever the menace, noticed immediately. "Oh no. It happened, didn’t it?"
You buried your face in your hands. "I hate my life."
Chan cackled. "I knew it."
"You are not allowed to tell anyone."
"Are you kidding? I’m telling everyone."
You shot him a glare. "Chan—" "Kidding. Relax. Your secret’s safe."
You exhaled. "Good."
Chan smirked. "But, uh… you might want to tell Vernon soon."
You blinked. "Why?" Chan pointed behind you.
And when you turned Vernon was standing there and he's looking right at you.
You froze. Vernon didn’t.
He stepped closer, hands in his pockets, head tilted slightly. "So."
Meanwhile Chan slowly walks backwards to escape the scene and leaving you to your devices.
You swallowed. "So?"
"You like me." he smirks. The man had the audacity to smirk and it sends something right through you. Either you want to run away from or run away with, you're not so sure.
You let out a sharp breath. "Don’t start."
Vernon hummed. "You do, though."
You ran a hand through your hair. "Vernon—"
"It’s okay," he said. "I already knew."
Your stomach flipped. "Excuse me?" you look at him wide eyed
Vernon shrugged. "I was just waiting for you to admit it."
You stared at him. "You’re insufferable."
He grinned. "And you like me anyway."
You exhaled sharply, shaking your head. "This is the worst day of my life."
Vernon chuckled. "Is it?"
You hesitated because no it wasn’t.
It was actually… kind of nice.
Finally letting yourself feel it.
Finally stopping the fight.
Finally looking at him and knowing he had been waiting for you all along.
You sighed. "Fine." Vernon raised an eyebrow. "Fine?"
You crossed your arms. "Fine. I like you. Happy now?"
Vernon just smiled.
"Yeah."
And then he walks closer to you, only a step away. Close enough you can smell his shower gel and fabric softener but far enough to give you space if you needed it.
Then he laced his fingers through yours. He did it like it was normal. Like he had been waiting to do it this whole time.
You stared down at your hand in his. Warm. Steady. Unwavering.
And suddenly you felt stupid.
Because what now? what, he got what he wanted? You admitted it. You said it. He won. Was he going to smirk, say told you so, and just… walk away?
You pulled your hand back, crossing your arms. "What now?"
Vernon blinked. "What do you mean?"
You scowled. "What now? You’re happy? You win?"
Vernon tilted his head, confused. "Win what?"
You huffed. "The bet. The whole stupid game you’ve been playing. Congratulations. You made me fall for you. Now you can go back to your cool, mysterious, hockey star life and leave me alone."
Vernon frowned. "What?"
You threw your hands up. "I mean, that’s how this goes, right? You chase me, I resist, I finally give in, and then boom—you’re over it."
You scoffed. "See? Silence. I knew it. I knew—"
"I’m not leaving."
You froze.
Vernon’s gaze was steady, unreadable, but there was something serious in his tone.
You swallowed. "What?"
"I’m not leaving, I'm not going anywhere. Where do you think I'm going?" he asks, confused
You hesitated. "Why not?"
Vernon exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "Because I like you. Like, actually like you. This wasn’t just some game for me."
"It wasn’t?" you mumble
"No."
You shifted on your feet. "Are you sure?"
Vernon laughed a quiet, breathy sound, like he couldn’t believe you were actually asking. Then he reached out—gently, carefully—and hooked his pinky around yours. And somehow, that tiny, stupid action made your chest feel like it was about to explode.
Vernon looked at you. "I’m sure."
And just like that—
You didn’t know how to fight him anymore.
After that night, Vernon didn’t change.
He didn’t start being overly sweet. He didn’t suddenly turn into a rom-com boyfriend who sent you flowers and love notes.
No.
He was just him.
Still showing up.
Still waiting outside your internship, still tossing his jacket over your shoulders, still holding your hand in that quiet, casual way that made you wonder how you had gone this long without it.
And maybe…
Just maybe…
You were finally starting to trust it. To trust him because he wasn’t going anywhere and for once you didn’t want him to. The moment you realized you weren’t fighting this anymore—weren’t fighting him—a strange kind of calm settled over you.
Vernon was still holding your hand. Still standing close. Still watching you with that infuriatingly patient expression like he had all the time in the world to wait for you to catch up.
It should have been a big moment. A grand, cinematic, fireworks-in-the-background kind of thing.
But instead—
"OH MY GOD."
You and Vernon both jumped, heads snapping up just in time to see Chan standing there, eyes wide, mouth open.
Your idiot cousin pointed an accusing finger at your intertwined hands.
"WHAT IS THAT?"
You blinked. "What is what?"
"THAT!" Chan gestured wildly. "You! Him! HANDS!"
Vernon blinked at him, unfazed. "Yeah, we have hands."
"OH MY GOD."
You groaned, trying to yank your hand away out of pure instinct only for Vernon to tighten his grip. Subtle. Calm. Like he was telling you, No. Don’t let go just because he’s here.
You hesitated. Then…
You didn’t let go.
Chan screamed.
"I need a moment," Chan announced, dramatically collapsing onto a bench like he had just received life-altering news.
You rolled your eyes. "Chan, it’s not that serious."
"NOT THAT SERIOUS?" Chan clutched his chest. "You—you and Vernon—I mean—when—HOW?"
Vernon just stuffed his free hand in his pocket, watching Chan with his usual unreadable expression. "You good?"
"No," Chan wheezed.
You sighed. "You’re being dramatic."
Chan sat up abruptly, eyes narrowing. "Oh? I’m being dramatic? Says the girl who SWORE she would NEVER date another hockey player?"
Your face burned. "I—okay, yeah, I might’ve said that, but—"
"SO WHAT IS THIS THEN?" Chan gestured wildly at you and Vernon.
You opened your mouth—then closed it because what was this?
Vernon didn’t let you think for long. "We’re dating," he said simply.
You choked. "Vernon!"
Chan’s jaw dropped. "YOU ARE?!"
Vernon turned to you, unfazed. "We’re not?"
You floundered. "I mean—I—are we?"
Vernon shrugged. "You like me. I like you. We hold hands now. Feels like dating."
Your brain short-circuited.
Because… that was it? That easy?
Chan looked between the two of you, unimpressed. "This is the weirdest way I’ve ever seen two people start dating."
You groaned. "I hate both of you."
Vernon smirked. "You like me, though."
You scowled. "Don’t push it."
Chan stood up, rubbing his temples. "I need time to process this."
You crossed your arms. "It’s not that deep."
Chan snorted. "Not that deep? Please. The entire team is gonna freak when they find out."
Your stomach dropped.
"The team?"
"Oh yeah," Chan smirked. "Good luck keeping this quiet."
Vernon didn’t seem fazed at all. But you?
You were doomed.
Chan had seen a lot of things in his life.
He had seen Vernon score impossible goals in the last seconds of a game. He had seen you single-handedly shut down an entire group of guys trying to hit on you at a party. He had seen Seungkwan lose his mind when they ran out of his favorite snacks at the dorms.
But this?
This was a new level of shocking.
He had come over to your place after practice, expecting a normal night of hanging out. Maybe some bickering, maybe some teasing—nothing out of the ordinary.
What he did not expect was to walk into the kitchen and see Vernon standing behind you, arms loosely wrapped around your waist, casually resting his chin on your shoulder while you scrolled through your phone.
And even more shocking?
You were letting him.
You. The queen of personal space. The same person who once smacked Chan for putting his feet on your couch.
But now?
You were just standing there, completely unbothered, letting Vernon be all up in your space like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Chan froze. "WHAT AM I LOOKING AT?"
You barely glanced up. "Hey, Chan."
"No." He pointed an accusatory finger at you. "What is this?"
Vernon blinked lazily. "A kitchen."
"VERNON."
"What?" Vernon was so calm it was infuriating.
Chan sputtered. "You’re—you’re literally all over her, and she’s letting you?"
Vernon hummed. "Yeah."
"YEAH?"
You sighed, turning your head slightly to look at Chan. "Why are you acting like this is a crime?"
"Because YOU used to YELL at me for even TOUCHING YOUR SHOULDER!"
You shrugged. "You’re not Vernon."
"EXACTLY!"
Chan ran a hand down his face, groaning dramatically. "Oh my god. Oh my god, I need a second."
Vernon just looked at him, completely unfazed.
"You’re acting like I’m holding her hostage," Vernon said, resting his chin back on your shoulder.
"Okay," he breathed, pressing a hand to his chest. "I need—I need to sit down."
You rolled your eyes. "Drama queen."
"No, YOU DON’T GET IT," Chan huffed. "I spent YEARS watching you destroy men for breathing near you, and NOW YOU’RE JUST LETTING VERNON CUDDLE YOU IN THE KITCHEN?"
Vernon smirked. "Would you rather I kiss your cousin in the kitchen?"
Chan stared at him, deadpan. "I will throw you in a snowbank."
Vernon just shrugged, unbothered, and looped his arm around your waist again. And when you didn’t move away—didn’t fight it, didn’t act like it was a big deal—Chan lost his mind.
"I CAN’T BE HERE."
And with that, your cousin stormed out of the kitchen.
You laughed, shaking your head. "He’ll be fine."
Vernon just smirked, squeezing your waist slightly before pulling away.
"Yeah," he said. "But this is fun."
And honestly?
He wasn’t wrong.
The first time Vernon kissed you, it wasn’t in some dramatic, romantic moment. It wasn’t after a big fight or some emotional confession.
It was a regular night. The two of you had just finished getting dinner, and he had walked you to your door like he always did.
No pressure. No expectations. Just… Vernon being Vernon.
And as you turned to say goodnight, he just looked at you for a second—head tilted, hands in his pockets, gaze steady as ever.
Then, so casually it almost felt like an afterthought, he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours.
No rush. No hesitation. Just… easy.
And instead of pulling away, instead of overthinking it you kissed him back.
Because, for once in your life you weren’t scared. You weren’t running. You weren’t waiting for the other shoe to drop.
You were exactly where you were supposed to be.
And Vernon?
He had been waiting for you to figure that out all along.
The apartment was quiet.
Dim lighting from the bedside lamp cast a soft glow across the room, the kind that made everything feel warm and safe. Outside, the city buzzed with life, but inside, within the walls of your shared space, it was just you and Vernon.
And Vernon was clingy.
Not in an obvious, dramatic way. Not in the way some people whined for attention or made a big show of it.
No—Vernon’s clinginess was quiet, subtle, and completely inescapable.
Like now.
You had barely shifted an inch when his arm—already wrapped snugly around your waist—tightened.
"Where are you going?" His voice was low, raspy from sleep.
You sighed. "I wasn’t going anywhere."
"Good."
His hold on you relaxed slightly, but he didn’t let go. He never did. Vernon wasn’t the type to smother you with affection in public, but in private?
He was relentless.
He had to feel you. Had to know you were there. Had to keep you close, even in sleep which explained why your legs were tangled together, his arm was curled around your stomach, and his forehead was resting against the back of your neck.
The warmth of his breath tickled your skin.
You shivered and, of course, Vernon noticed. He let out a quiet hum, nuzzling even closer.
"Are you cold?"
"A little."
Without a word, he pulled the blanket higher, tucked it around you both, and pressed himself closer.
"Better?"
You smiled. "Yeah."
Vernon sighed, his lips barely grazing your shoulder. Silence settled between you. The comfortable kind. The kind where you didn’t need to say anything because just being there was enough.
But then you felt it. The way his fingers started tracing slow, absentminded patterns against your skin. Soft. Thoughtless. Completely natural.
It was so Vernon.
Always the same quiet gestures. Always the same small ways of showing affection. You reached down, lacing your fingers through his.
Vernon stilled for a second, then—without a word—he intertwined them properly, squeezing once before relaxing again.
And for a while, that was it.
Just the sound of your breathing. Just the warmth of him against you. Just the steady, slow rhythm of two people who fit together perfectly.
But then Vernon spoke.
"…You’re my favorite."
Your heart skipped a beat.
You turned slightly, catching the sleepy, almost shy expression on his face.
You raised an eyebrow. "Favorite what?"
"Just…" His voice was a little hoarse, a little soft, like he wasn’t sure he wanted to say it out loud. "My favorite everything."
Your breath caught.
Vernon never said things like this. Not because he didn’t feel them, but because he didn’t need to.
He showed it instead.
Through the way he waited for you after your internship, even if it meant sitting outside for an hour. Through the way he always pulled you closer in his sleep, like he was scared you’d disappear. Through the way he remembered the smallest things, like how you hated sleeping with socks on or how you always curled up a certain way when you were tired.
He didn’t have to say it.
But he did anyway.
Because you needed to hear it.
You swallowed, heart too full, too warm, too much.
"You’re such a sap," you muttered, trying to sound annoyed, but your voice cracked just a little.
Vernon smirked, eyes half-lidded with sleep.
"You like it."
You huffed. "Maybe."
He chuckled. Then, before you could say anything else, he tilted his head forward, pressed a lazy kiss against your jaw, and mumbled—
"Go to sleep."
And just like that—
You did.

RIDDLE DREAM SPOILER‼️‼️‼️
Lmao, why is his dream just...
"Quit your job"
"Why?"
"Join my emo band!"
(No but honestly, its a bit cute that, Riddle, in all his seriousness and rules sticking, still seemed to choose a more alt way to dress in his dream, like he still wants to rebel in some way. It was a plot twist in a way since many may have thought that Riddle would have cranked up on his authoritarian ways all the way to eleven, and yet his dream is silly, like all the other house warden's dreams seemed to be more serious in a way and showed off one aspect that we knew off, Leona's low self esteem and Azul wanting to completly overwrite his past, but Riddle wasn't quite that, we knew of his want for rebelion, but his dream wasn't full anarchy, it was just... rebelling in the small ways)
(Sorry for any misspelling, english isn't my native lenguage)
[You can read my thoughts on the book 7 chapter 12 part 3 update here!]
I just saw that meme on Twitter with Riddle and Cater 😭
I was shocked by Riddle’s new look in the dream… It’s close to alt fashion in the west, but I believe it is supposed to be Japanese visual kei. All that black… I don’t know, I don’t think dark eye and lip makeup suits him?? But that’s just me, what do I know about style www
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/af36f8315c3d52871041a4a338bc8eca/22625daf300adfac-cb/s540x810/10703c508324478d2d166a2606a075acf58f232b.jpg)
I’m surprised Riddle even knows what that kind of clothing is…? You’d think his mom would not allow him to be exposed to this kind of fashion. I was half expecting Cater to mention he had shared it with Riddle at NRC on a slow day and Riddle expressing a little curiosity about it but ultimately holding himself back from dressing adventurously. That never ended up happening…
I do think that an authoritarian dream has its representation in the second and third layers of Riddle’s mind. The darker implication is certainly there. However, I think it makes the most sense for his surface level dream to be about his childish desires and experiences he never had. As much as Riddle might claim to be mature and to know it all, some part of him desperately misses out on happy childhood memories. He shares this sentiment after recovering from his overblot (“And after a meal, I want to be the one sitting around talking with everyone... And I really wanted to play with you and Chenya more, Trey.”). In events like Endless Halloween Night, Riddle tells his peers that he isn’t familiar with traditional entertainment media like movies or video games; he did crosswords and read textbooks as a child. Various voice lines, like his Suitor Suit, where he wishes his parents’ marriage was happy, or his Beachwear, where he complains about how he is not used to this kind of scandalous clothing, also express this.
I wouldn’t describe Riddle’s dream as an expression of him wanting to rebel or to have anarchy, per se. Wanting more freedom and a longing for a chance to express one’s inner child isn’t necessarily equal to being rebellious. Many of the things he desires are very childish: not wanting to go to school or to study, eating desserts multiple times a week, drinking tea sweet, being able to play all day, always having emotionally available parents, not having to follow rules, having many friends and a happy family… These are not all tied to being rebellious, these are things most children want. It speaks to Riddle wanting to have those childhood experiences he missed out on and having more independence… Being allowed to be his own person rather than a puppet on strings his mother controls and makes all the decisions for.

too many white lies and white lines .ᐟ
plot: bestfriend!satoru helps his best friend get over her crush on Ryomen Sukuna
content warning: angst, mentinos of: drug and alcohol use, violence, fingering, oral f!recieving, piv sex, domestic violence
peachy's yap: wc 1.2k.ᐟ no thoughts except Gojo. this just a short little thought! just tryna clear out my drafts sighhh.
bestfriend!satoru who can't fathom why you're not together already. who waits for you, anywhere at any time, no matter how weird-looking or sketchy it is.
bestfriend!satoru shows his love by holding you in his arms during group movie nights or having you sit in his lap when there were more than enough seats. or when he kissed your cheek when you were leaving his house to go down the street to yours.
bestfriend!satoru knew you didn't see him like that, and you didn't feel the butterflies like you felt with sukuna.
bestfriend!satoru understood how you felt, ryo was tall and muscular and totally your type.
bestfriend!satoru, suguru, and you who were born in the same year. your parents were best friends and made you all have a tight-knit friendship. years later, you acquired more friends like shoko, utahime, sukuna, and kento, who always brought along haibara.
bestfriend!satoru and suguru's would drive you all to a party or even a small diner that was open late at night. tonight you were all heading to a club which was a new scene for you. you used this as an an opportunity to seduce sukuna into wanting you.
bestfriend!satoru was forced to sit in the front with utahime. you clung onto sukuna's muscular arm, staring up at his chiseled jawline with heart eyes. you even follow behind him as you walk to the front door of the club. but sukuna made it obvious you weren't his interest. he's feet in front of you as you talk to the back of his head.
bestfriend!satoru knows of your energy-depleting crush on sukuna. his arm snakes around your waist placing a kiss on your forehead in comfort. you once again not noticing the gesture was romantic and not platonic.
"you think he'll ever notice me satoru?" you asked and he shook his head.
"i don't think so, love. ryo only treats women as toys it's better you don't get involved with him anyway. i'm sorry to disappoint you."
bestfriend!satoru rubs small circles on the exposed skin of where he held your waist. you both walked into the club, of course, on the VIP list due to the status you all held.
"well i just thought maybe since we've been friends for so long, he'd treat me... differently," you admitted and he nodded. satoru hated to admit it but you were bringing the mood down.
"hey let's not think about it okay? we wanted a night out so let's enjoy it." he smiled and you nodded walking in sitting in the section.
bestfriend!satoru said to enjoy it but this is not what you thought he meant. the coke, the shots of liquor that never stopped coming, some passed out, eyes rolled to the back of their heads.
bestfriend!satoru was more surprised, sukuna, who was a fuckin' unit was high head thrown back. eyes bloodshot white powder under his nose as he twitched lightly here and there.
bestfriend!satoru, suguru, and you looked at each other in absolute horror these were not the people you thought you knew. you three slipped out of the club not wanting to 'disturb' their high. honestly, the night felt like a fever dream to you and you were in utter shock.
bestfriend!satoru could see the fear on your face, probably from the way utahime reached across the table trying to bring her key to your nose. you slapped it away looking at her incredulously as she grew angry. she yelled at you saying 'do you have any idea how much a pinch of this cost!' you not caring to know, only shrugged refusing to even look at the white substance on the table.
bestfriend!satoru held your waist as suguru asked if you guys were coming to his place and you shook your head. you really wanted to lay in your bed and reel in your thoughts.
bestfriend!satoru knew that was what you needed. he wanted to be everything ryomen sukuna couldn't be for you. he wanted to be your savior and tonight that's what he'd be.
"i got her." he smiled and suguru nodded walking over to his car.
bestfriend!satoru took you home offering to come in and stay with you and you of course said yes. he sat on your bed while you took your shower looking around the room he's slept in many nights before.
bestfriend!satoru listened to you rant about the night as he watched you get dressed. hardon pressing against his pants as he watched you jump to put on those small shorts that barely covered your ass. he really wished you kept them off.
bestfriend!satoru opened his arms inviting you to lay with him your cheek pressed against his chest. no tv no lights just you wrapped in satoru and the darkness.
bestfriend!satoru who was feeling bold and knew you needed a distraction slowly rubbed your back moving lower and lower by the minute. your eyes had adjusted to the dark and you could see his big blue eyes looking at you.
bestfriend!satoru moved his hand to your ass gripping it as you moaned. you loved the feeling of his soft hands on your ass. the way he rubbed slowly some of his fingers grazing under the shorts.
bestfriend!satoru couldn't hold back anymore as he flipped the both of you over. pressing the tent of his hard cock on the prominent imprint of your pussy on your shorts. he ground his hips into yours groaning at the feeling.
"is... is it okay for me to fuck you?" he asked and you nodded needing him just as bad.
bestfriend!satoru knew you did this because you wanted to get over sukuna. but he didn't care. he didn't care you were only letting him pull down your shorts and panties because you wanted to get over sukuna.
bestfriend!satoru didn't care that you were only letting him finger your needy wet pussy and suck on your hard nipples because you wanted to get over sukuna.
bestfriend!satoru didn't care you were only letting him taste your sweet pussy and you only squirted in his mouth saying how much you loved it because you wanted to get over sukuna.
bestfriend!satoru didn't care that you let him fuck your tight cunt senseless because you wanted to get over sukuna. or that you yelled out 'fuck ryo' while he fucked you because you imagined sukuna and not him.
bestfriend!satoru didn't care that you let him nut in you and you told him you loved him. didn't care that you clung to him like a koala and whispered how good he made you feel just because you needed to get over that man. ryomen sukuna.
ex-bestfriend!satoru did care when you went to sukuna the day after and got with him. he did care when sukuna took you on dates and told you how much he loved you.
ex-bestfriend!satoru did care when sukuna told you that you couldn't be friends with satoru and suguru anymore. he cared when he saw your energy-depleted face around town
ex-bestfriend!satoru did care when sukuna forced you to stay in the house at all times. he cared when you texted him and told him that sukuna was drunk and you were scared he'd hit you.
bestfriend!satoru did care when he bursted into your apartment beating the shit out of sukuna. he cared when he saw your shaking body hiding in your closet.
bestfriend!satoru did care when you told him you loved him and he couldn't deny he still loved you after everything the two of you had been through.

Custody Battle - Harumasa x gn!Reader
Summary -> 750 words. A sweet little moment during the ongoing battle of custody of Agent Gulliver between Harumasa and you, a simple hollow raider Warnings -> None.
You watched from your vantage point, observing as Harumasa collected data from the terminal. He kept looking over his shoulder, like he could sense you. You saw as he gestured to Agent Gulliver to stand closer. This wasn’t going to be easy. This little game between the two of you had only gotten more intense as time had passed. Agent Gulliver looked around, almost… excited for it at this point. When Harumasa turned a corner and Gulliver had lagged behind a bit, you knew this was your moment.
You dash from your hiding spot and scoop up the bangboo and run like the wind, the air of the hollow filling with giggles. You glanced over your shoulder only to see Harumasa running after you, but with his lungs you knew you could outrun him. Once he started slowing down you dash around a few corners to lose him, squeezing Gulliver close.
“Gotcha.” You giggle and lift up the bangboo’s cap and kiss his forehead before setting him down. “Let’s run a quick errand before bringing you back to Harumasa.” Gulliver happily follows you through a dilapidated building. You shove some rubble aside and see the safe you had gotten the commission about. “Alright, Gully. Crack this safe for me?”
Eh-nah! Gulliver hopped over to the safe, interfacing with it and working on breaking it open. You start to mindlessly roam around, seeing ethereals walking outside the window as you circle the room. You were focused on watching them wander mindlessly, your thoughts drifting to the future that awaited Harumasa. The friendship between you two was odd. You were a hollow raider, constantly on the run from the law, and he was…well… the law for a lack of a shorter description.
“You can’t keep doing this.” The voice behind you scares you, instincts acting as your blade clashes against his.
“Shit- Harumasa you can’t just sneak up like that!” You sheath your blade as he puts his bow back together and stows it.
“You stole HSO property.” “I borrowed Agent Gulliver, who happens to enjoy these little excursions, don’t you Gully.” You coo and pet the bangboo who was preoccupied with cracking the safe, but let out a happy noise anyway.
Harumasa smirks and circles around you. “You’re purposefully making my mission so much longer. I’m going to get home late because of you.” He throws himself against your back, knowing you’d catch him. His arms wrapped around your torso, his head on your shoulder so he could look at you with those pouty eyes. “You’re so evil.” “Oh just the worst.” You roll your eyes and straighten your back just so he wouldn’t be uncomfortably slumped. “Taking a whole five minutes of your time.”
“You can make it up to me.” Harumasa looks up at you with hope, squeezing you close.
“How can I, a lowly hollow raider who is so below you, make it up to you?”
“Go out to dinner and then maybe end up below me at the end of the night~?” He laughs as you smack the top of his head.
“Oh get your mind out of the gutter. You’re gross.” You wiggle out of his grasp as he laughs and moves to hug you again, one arm around your waist in a casual manner.
“Okay okay ignore the second half of that sentence. But get dinner with me. Please.” The light tone that was normally in his voice was gone. He was serious.
“Me?”
“You.”
“Like… Romantic style?”
“Preferably.”
“Just us?”
“...Who else would be there?”
You stare at him blankly, registering a small tug at your pant leg. “Gulliver?”
“Why would Gulliver be there?” Harumasa chuckles, amused at your reaction.
“No I meant-” You look down at the bangboo who was pointing at the opened safe. You moved over and grabbed the files you were commissioned to retrieve. You tapped the folder against your hand in thinking before putting it in your bag, picking up Gulliver and holding him out to Harumasa who took him without a second thought. “I uh… He’s yours again. I’m done…”
“Uh huh.” Harumasa smiles widely, watching you shift on your feet awkwardly. “Ramen? Seven tonight?”
“Ah… haha yeah…” You try to fight it, but the smile still cracks across your face. “I’ll uh… See you there.” You step close and kiss his cheek a bit clunkily before walking out of the building you were in.
When you were almost out of earshot you heard Harumasa’s voice. “Yeah yeah, you told me… I had nothing to worry about… Oh shut up and get us out of here, Gulliver.”
A/N -> I had a dream about Harumasa last night. I think I'm in too deep.

HII! And sure I can write that lmao! Thank you for the request!!
MDNI,
The reactions of the guys when you stare at them and compliment them.
Satan was running through the Gehenna streets, pulling you along with him as he helped you evade the attacks that were coming down from the sky.
"Ugh, this place should do. You should stay here and keep out of sight.", he grunted as you both finally got a place to rest. That's when he noticed how you were staring at his pinkish white hair that seemed almost like a cloud with how fluffy it was. Not only that, but you couldn't help to admire how his skin glimmers softly with how the light now hits his face.
"What?", he asked in an almost mocking tone as he leaned closer to you to look you straight in the eyes.
"I... You seem so pretty right now, so...", you muttered as you broke eye contact with him. He stood still. Not knowing how to react to such a compliment. After the surprise wore off, he patted your head and muttered: "You can continue admiring me, but after I killed those angels who disturbed our date." He gave you a smile before running back out to join the fight with his people.
Mammon, who would carry you all over Tartaros if he has the chance. The same man who would give you all he owned in exchange to be in your good graces and to be even in your presence. He would bask in the attention you're giving him. Even if it's just you staring. He wouldn't ask at first, but he definitely noticed.
It was only when his nobles asked or told him about it that he needed to ask.
He waited until you stared at him again. This time it was when you were in his firm arms.
"Why do you stare at me at times? Not that I mind.", he asked, smiling up at you as he continued walking down the hallway with you.
"You're just handsome.", you said giggling as you smiled back at you.
"I hope you'll keep staring at me then. I would love if you only looked at me like this.", he replied.
Zagan felt awkward as he stood still in his tracks. "Hm...", he hummed. Not knowing if he should speak out loud or not.
"Are you okay, Zagan?", you asked as you stopped beside him.
"...", he looked down at you. A blush on his face as he opened his mouth slightly. 'Is he going to speak?' You wondered as you heard the following words.
"Not that I dislike it, but I get flustered when you're staring at me like that.", he answered as he looked away from you and covered his mouth with a hand.
"Huh, well... You're handsome, but... sorry ... I didn't know I was staring at you just now...", you said as you actually thought about being in a trance whenever you look at him. He only blushed more at your words. He shook his head as a way to say that he actually wanted you to stare more.
Andrealphus couldn't see you staring, but he definitely knew you were. He isn't shy to ask though. He wants to know what of him intrigues you. "I know that you've been looking at me. Why?", he asked. His tone somewhat monotone and calm, but you could sense a slight hint of curiosity being in there.
"... I... sorry, I just think that you're pretty is all.", you replied honestly. Even if Andrealphus wouldn't be able to see he knew he could trust atleast you. "What about me do you think is pretty? Describe it, please.", he asks. He wants to be able to see what he looks like to you. So you start describing every point, from his soft hair to his painful scars and told him what you loved about them.
Stolas caught you a few times, but he either says nothing or he asks you in the most judgemental and monotone voice if there is something. You would always deny there being something which left Stolas to think about why you were staring. He would inspect himself, he would convince himself that it's because he's handsome. He would just think. Until it passes him off. Then he'll actually start demanding to know why you would stare at him.
You at times would tease him or change the subject, but one day he was very persistent. You just had to answer: "I just think that you're pretty...", you said which made Stolas stop in his tracks. He looks as if he's trying to register what you just told him, but he's having a hard time. Trying to calm himself down and seem cool, he'll clear his throat and say: "You mean handsome. Yes, I am." He says before continuing what he was doing. A blush now on his face.
Glasyalabolas wouldn't notice at first since he's always looking over people's heads. Until at some moment. He noticed you staring while you were in a conversation with him.
"Did something catch your attention?", he said. His deep voice waking you up from your trance.
"OH!... Uh... I guess so.", you said, not denying his question, but also not answering.
He raised a brow at this response and leaned down to look you right in the eyes. "Would you mind telling me?", he asked. Wanting to tease you as he expected you to deny, but instead he stood frozen on the spot when you did reply.
"I just think that you're handsome is all...", you said almost too casually.
"Hm?", was all he could muster to say as he straightened his back again.
"I see... Well, if I am so handsome then you're allowed to stare some more huh. Maybe Foras would go crazy because of this.", he chuckled at the thought of the demon in question getting agitated whenever you look at him, the tallest man in hell, again.
"Look at me enough to annoy him, but not enough to cause me issues then."

Pairing: Salesman x implied f!reader
Summary: the announcement of the late arrival of your train upset you. With nothing to do, a mysterious man came by and offered a game to pass by the time. Who knew it would lead to his hot breath scraping your throat?
Contents: very suggestive, getting cock blocked by the train </3
A/n: I hate this, but I have to fight the writer block somehow. This was a request, but I sadly can't find it ☹️ hope you read this anon.
Word count: 1.6k
。゚゚・。・゚゚。 ゚。゚゚・。・゚゚。 ゚。゚゚・。・゚゚。 ゚。゚゚・。・゚゚。 ゚
Body slumping against the metal of the bench, sighing as you waited for your train to arrive. It was a long and stressful day, sadly the norm for you to experience now.
Fiddling with your keys in the hand, trying to entertain yourself. An eery silence surrounding you as the dust replaced the lack of presence around you. It was just you against time, fighting sleep on the uncomfortable metal scraping your back.
An endless loop, you'd say. It was pointless, your job paid a measly amount, a pathetic amount to your debts. Yet you still had to endure it, sore limbs working till they fall off. Only resting in the subway and hard mattress. Is life supposed to be like this?
The whirling of your thoughts momentarily stopped as your ears picked up a polite voice echoing trough the speaker. The announcement of your train arriving drowning out your tired groans. Small occurrences like these take precious time away, ruining the routine set up for yourself.
"The world must be against me.." huffing out to yourself. Eyes glaring at the text which presented the 30 minute wait you had to endure, already crying at the loss of the hot shower you wanted.
With nothing to do now for 30 minutes, the familiar weight dropped back on your eyelids. The ones whom you tried to ignore to rest up properly at home. But, what's the point of it now? Your peace had already been disrupted, would a little nap hurt?
You let the temptations control you, not caring anymore and surrendering the battle. Imagining the cold bars beneath you were the blankets that are waiting at home. The bliss of slumping your shoulders and closing your eyes made your ears not catch the echoing of footsteps behind you.
It was not until the metal creaked beneath you with an additional weight added did you realize another person has came. Heart jumping as your eyes flew open, turning your head at the intrusion beside you.
Out of everything, an opulent looking man was the least you expected. Slicked back hair, a suit and a briefcase resting beside him. It felt off and you immediately felt wary. Why should such a man be in a shabby place? And that briefcase is straight out of a horror movie. An assassin, perhaps? Are those debts finally catching up, oh gosh—
"Care for a game?" a smooth voice interrupted you, quickly coming to the realization that you've been mindlessly staring at the stranger, quickly averting your eyes from his face.
"..A game?" you answered with wary. A game? Alone and at this hour? Your instinct begged you to run, yet your mind was curious about the proposal. If he had intentions to kill you, surely he wouldn't have waited this long.
"Yes. A game." he followed his words by taking the mysterious suit case. As his fingers opened it, your fear was ephemeral. A luminous stack of money glowing in your face. Two colourful cards beside it. It's definitely an upgrade from the knives and bombs you were thinking, yet it was still much too shady for your liking.
"..And the catch is?" you asked, not letting your hungry gaze falter. Practically drooling for the money.
"It's a simple game of ddjakji. If I lose, you get 100k won. You lose, I get 100k won." flashing a charming smile as he explained the rules. It only rang skeptical bells, but the money questioned all of your morals.
One game wouldn't hurt, no? You still had so much time to pass, why not indulge in a childrens game that could help your debt. Silence creeping back in before you answered.
"I'll play." your answer seems to amuse him, smirking as he picked up the papers, setting up the little childrens game.
"You start." handing you the red packet, you could almost scoff at how easy money this would be. You were great at this game as a child, easy money.
Thud.
A frown followed your disappointment, not being able to flip over the blue packet. Sadly underestimating the game, hazy childhood memories making it seem much easier. What a waste of money.
A smug smile was plastered on the strangers face as he saw your frustration. Gosh, you truly wanted to slap that perfect face. But you held back, giving him your packet to let him try. Hoping he would fail for your own sake.
But hopes simply are only hopes, a slap of his packet skillfully turning the other. You shouldn't have expected any less from a guy offering to the play the game, must you be so stupid to have accepted this? That irritating face of his doesn't help the irascible side you're showing either, not at all.
A sudden realization dawned on your head, you owed him money. A sheepish smile mixed in withe rage you felt, staring up at him. You were in serious debt, you couldn't afford something like this.
"No money," his tone indicated the expectation of the outcome, "That's fine. You can pay with your body."
Before your mind could rush to any conclusion, a sharp pain tugged your cheek, stumbling back to hold onto the bench. Your fingers coming up to graze at the damage, a small whine coming out. Did he really just slap you?
Eyelashes fluttering as you looked up, the facade of his enigmatic smile still on his face. Is this some type of sadist kink? It must be. Enjoyment stemming from your pain simply brought out a smile to him.
The money beside you was long forgotten, furry rummaging trough you as revenge clouded your mind. Huffing, you steadied yourself as you snatched back the packet. Letting your anger control you.
You wouldn't give up, you were now bound to bruise after you let yourself play more rounds, emotions controlling your actions. His hand ending up on your cheek each time.
"Seems like your confidence is gone." you didn't allow yourself to respond to his words, his fingers succeeding to flip the packet once more. How many times has it been now? You couldn't tell, the bruising of your right cheek being the only evidence of the torture you let yourself endure.
You sighed, pathetically closing your eyes to brace for the impact of his coarse hands. But instead, soft delicate skin brushed your skin, comforting the red patch of his hand on your face.
It was so quick, even as your eyes flung open you didn't catch im the act. His face not showing any indication of the action he pursued. No words were exchanged, mindlessly handing you the packet back as you furrowed your eyebrows.
What was this guys problem?
You couldn't even react when his hand pinned to the wall after another loss, rage fading away as he placed his head on your neck, the same feeling on your cheek now touching your neck.
Why was this so enjoyable? Gripping his well made hair as you whisper to him that only one kiss was allowed, sentence not coming to an end as he bit down suddenly. Breath hitching as you succumbed to his plump lips.
It's been so long without any contact, focusing so much on your job that you forgot your own needs. Embarrassingly rubbing your thighs together in need after he bit down harder.
"Where's all that fury gone to?" he murmured slyly, immediately noticing your actions. Yet, you couldn't bring yourself to care. Desperateness in your voice as they came out in whimpers. Whining for a stranger you wanted to strangle only a few moments ago.
"Oh my gosh, please." mutters of begs came out as his fingers grazed over your groin. The thin fabric doing nothing to cover the sensation of his fingertips.
If giving up your hot bath means the mans tongue swirls around your collarbone, you would do it again. Covering your eyes in bliss as you let your head lean back.
A gush of wind rudely interrupted your enjoyment, opening your eyes to be met with the open doors of the metro. A gasp, not out of pleasure, escaping your lips as you hurried over, pushing the man off of you as you ran. You couldn't afford to miss the last train, legs running without your mind comprehending it.
Only once you squeezed between the doors, panting as you rested your back against the seat, did you look back at him. Flashing a smirk at you with his disheveled hair, disappearing from your view as the train started to move.
A small blush painted your face as you realized what was done, suddenly remembering the marks your neck had from the interaction. Pulling up your shirt to cover them, regardless of the fact no one was around you.
It simply felt so surreal, not believing any memory your mind played of the incident. Even as your slick collected in your panties and dark bruises appeared on your neck and face, you didn't want to accept it. It wasn't until you put your hands in your pocket, did it dawn on you of what happened.
A small brown card was pulled out, numbers engraved into it, mocking you to call him. Sly bastard. You couldn't give him the joy of calling, you wouldn't let him smirk again to see you call. Your ego has already been hurt enough, pride washed away.
Yet the fingers hurriedly tapping the number on your phone displayed a different story. Pressing the call button without your premission.
How you loathed him and his skilled tongue to make you act like this.
