His skin color genuinely hates me, it was so annoying to paint, it was either too green or too dark or too white and didn't show up on the page or something else, arggggggg, I think it ended up acceptable, but who knows! My eyes are probably not to be trusted about this at this point, it is all I've done or looked at for the past *checks watch* 8 HOURS??????? WTF???????

also the hair, the hair also hates me and for that one at least I can say the feeling is mutual.

I gave him other clothing because of two reasons. 1) I can't imagine he walks around in that thing all the time so like, no, and 2) (the much more important reason) I really didn't want to draw the skimpy body suit, and without the red overcoat thing (which I knew I wasn't going to include because I wanted him in the scarf and both would be awkward) it's basically nothing and just no, soooo flowy shirt and pants!

The original idea was Ghirahim in the scarf and Wars in the red overcoat thing, but Ghirahim demand I just do him today, maybe I'll eventually do Wars' but no promises :D

DISCLAIMERS AND NOTES ETC.... I'm Pākehā, meaning I am not of Māori descent. I hold so much respect for Māori people, for their values and traditions, and for the fierce pride with which kapa haka is performed. I thought if I was going to design a Māori Miku, it makes sense to dress her in a kapa haka kākahu, as her whole thing is singing and dancing!!! The moko kauae is not based off any real person's. I referenced the temporary moko kauae a lot of kapa haka performers wear!! Was tricky finding out whether or not depicting her with a moko kauae was a good idea, so I went the safe route- showing an aspect of Māori culture without stepping over any boundaries!! Brown eyed Miku is everything to me shout out brown eyed Miku.... I referenced like seven different outfits to put hers together!! I really hope this looks accurate or at least passable. Thanks to adorkastock for the pose ref!!
