Danny's starting to believe that now. He used to think that it wasn't true, but now? He used to wish to have a normal life, be a good normal son with good grades an be an astronaut one day.

But like they said, a Fenton is either EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL OR EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL.

He was EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL in that.

Instead of a normal life he turned a half ghost teen superhero. But oh well, the Fenton's were also known for their ability to go with the flow

But how in the world did the flow get him here???

In Danny's defense, he wasn't really expecting this. The only thing in his mind at the moment was keeping his town and his people safe from pariah. He just wanted to get rid of the rotten fruitloop. He was EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL, so successful in fact that he ended up becoming Ghost king.

But okay, sure, he didn't wanna become king but if he also didn't want to give up the crown for others to take, what if an evil person becomes king and attacks amity again?? Fine, he'll be king, he'll figure it out. Just go with the flow.

Surprisingly, not only did he get the crown, he also got THE MONEY. as in literal gold and silver bars, coins and jewelry. Appearantly, one the kings a long long time ago, before at least two generations before pariah had an obsession with MONEY. So the king made a Permanent Royal Degree (a law that cannot be changed by any future kings) that when someone dies and becomes a ghost, 20% of the MONEY that they've acquired in their entire life. (The money turns into an equivalent of ghost currency in the realms but is still physically in the living. Kind of like how the soul is in the realms but the body is the earth. Also, the only reason money exists in the realms is for convenience and a sense of normalcy, it doesn't really have that much value unless the ghosts brings it to the living) would belong to the ghost king.

Basically, it's ghost taxes that only have to be paid once for the entire afterlife. (Or is it more of an entrance fee???)

But anyways, hes got the MONEY.

He's rich now and he thinks, "I have so much money it's disgusting"

So first things first, getting rid of some of it.

By this point, his parents know he's phantom and have changed their opinions on ghosts, instead of attacking they are now looking at ghost like they're equals and try and help them as an apology for hurting them.

They are also looking for a new project to spend time on. A new purpose

So Danny thought, why not give them the money then? Danny proposed to his mom a project to make things that can benefit both ghosts and humans.

Next thing he knows is that he's appearantly funding, building and making:

A ghost job agency

A human job agency

Ghost proof buildings (ghost can't pass through walls, it won't hurt them, just keep em out.)

Ghost proof clothes (overshadowing proof!)

A practical fashion line for ghost and humans (Bullet proof, blast proof etch. Borderline vigilante clothes that look like a civilians day to day outfit)

Homes for ghost and humans

A ghost obsession help center where they can ask humans to help with their obsession.

A school for both ghost and humans.

Liminal 101 because apparently because of the whole, pariah dark and, living in the ghosts kings haunt situation, everyone is liminal now

An entire line of technology that can be used by both ghosts and humans.

A fight arena where ghost and humans can fight for fun.

And so many other things , he can't remember

HIS NAME IS EVERYWHERE . His parents didn't even bother hiding the fact that their son somehow has enough money to fund these projects, everyone knows him now.

I FINISHED VEILGUARD!

I have. So many thoughts and emotions about it and I'm still processing but I just wanted to counter some of the vitriol I'm seeing from people who are doing the Fandom thing with what I hope are reasonable, normal thoughts. Ha. Haha. Anyway. Mostly spoiler free but there's one small thing and one BIG thing that is that I'll put under the read more.

There was a lot to like about this game. The combat was fun and I think upon a 2nd playthrough it'll be even better. Some of it could get repetitive but its not a big gripe.

The characters were very endearing and felt well fleshed out as people and I enjoyed spending time with them. Most of the side quests were related to your companions in some way and I thought that was clever. Some were more interesting than others.

The writing has been contentious and I can see why. It can get cheesy and predictable in places, but overall I thought it was very similar to DA2. I enjoyed it and thought it reflected some realistic responses to what was happening around you. If you're here for gritty edgelord shit 24/7 go play Dark Souls you weirdo.

I can only speak for the Lucanis romance cause I love an angsty man, but it was perhaps, underpadded. It was slow and sweet and I did like it very much but I could have used some...more you know? I didn't even get to see my own tits and that's tragic.

Solas. I did not romance the egg in DAI. I do not like the egg. I liked how I got to handle the egg. So much. I've seen the Lavellan romance scenes and if there's any uproar from the Sollavellans (one l or 2?) it's because they didn't let you see the 2 of them fuck nasty in high definition for an hour. It's Rooks story now. You're fine. Go write fanfiction.

The lore. Hoo boy. Honestly they really did put everything in a blender and fished out what they liked. Everything is made up and the points don't matter. I don't LOVE that they retconned so much of what was in Origins. Zevran and the Crows especially seems really odd. I THINK the idea is that it's been like 20-30ish years since all that and stuff has changed or information was wrong or inaccurate or whatever? But that seems lazy. I wish they'd addressed it more with SOMETHING. But also there's 3 games worth of lore, not to mention comics and novels and like. I get it. But consistency guys. Add more codex entries or something. This is my biggest gripe. It did not impact my enjoyment too much. I loved what was added.

That ending was so ABRUPT?! At least with DAI you got a ending party and final scene with your LI but here you get some end cards and voice over? I would have accepted that if we were getting DLC but this?? This is insane! Bioware I am begging on my knees to give us at least a "well we did it!" scene. The ending was epic but the ENDING was a disappointment.

Now. The suicide mission. I spent [redacted] number of hours investing blood, sweat, and tears of friendship into these 7 assholes and there is NO way to save 1 of them?? And you have to choose between Harding and Davrin??? Just those 2?? There should be a way to save them! Don't give me the no matter what crap! I don't want CONSEQUENCES I want FRIENDSHIP. If you could do it in ME2 you should be able to do it here. Also. Can we not have it be 50/50 heroic sacrifice with a black man? Like. I know you can technically choose but like why make it an option. It just feels weird.

So yeah. Initial thoughts and feelings. Overall good with some stuff I really disliked. I will be normal about this eventually.

So the release of Erdtree was a bit of a fiasco for FromSoft and for a very fascinating reason. The game got tons of negative reviews for being unfairly difficult driving the rating all the way down to "mixed " on steam for a good amount of time, a disastrous rating for a game like this.

It's now become apparent that the single biggest contributor to the perception of unfair difficulty was that Erdtree has a new central progression mechanic that people do not know how to interact with, or even that the mechanic exists depending on the player.

We have to remember that anyone who plays Erdtree has to have completed some of the greatest challenges of the base game. These are not inexperienced players jumping into a genre that is too deep for them. So what happened?

For our answer, I would like everyone to think back to the tutorial of the first Dark Souls. That game has an excellent tutorial. It's engaging, it's fun, it plays exactly like the rest of the game, and critically, it forces the player to interact with every vital mechanic. You must demonstrate basic competency in all core Dark Souls mechanics before you can move past the tutorial.

This is not uncommon with very good games. Super Mario Bros 1-1 is effectively a tutorial level. It is constructed such that it leads the player to experimentation. It has demonstration checks for every core mechanic under minimal stress, then combining mechanics. The Mega Man X intro level is similar, Super Metroid has tutorial bits scattered so seamlessly through the game world that most people wont ever realize that a particular hall is designed to teach you the properties of your new plasma beam.

Now what happened with Erdtree is that FromSoft didn't bother to do this with this new progression mechanic. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to introduce an entirely new 100% required mechanic without onboarding the players, but for whatever reason they didn't. The results were predictable, that being many players did not discover this new mechanic organically and the game was unplayable for these players, they got mad, and rated the game low.

It's gotten so bad that FromSoft is effectively begging players to please try again, and they posted a map giving exact instructions on what to do, basically trying, after the fact, to create an out of game tutorial that better onboards players and doesn't leave it up to chance - a clunky, bad version of what should have been in the game in the first place. It's going ok. Right now, Erdtree's steam rating is sitting at 71% "Mostly Positive", Which is much better than it was. Best I can tell it was down in "Mixed" and just over a 50% positive rating. All because, for whatever reason, they didn't bother with a tutorial for their new mechanic.

This is objectively bad game design. They did this to themselves. The fascinating part is FromSoft does *great* tutorials. They know why a tutorial exists and how to execute them. They've always been good at judging what mechanics are necessary to cover explicitly. It's fascinating to me, a baffling rookie mistake from one of the best developers in the world. And I can't figure out why it happened.

The only thing I can come up with is they got a bit too high on their own supply and thought "we don't need tutorials! Our games are supposed to be hard!" forgetting there is a difference between a game being challenging and a game being obtuse.

1. Who is their biggest supporter?

Definitely Liam, which might seem strange, but he is Sirius' best friend. After Sirius & Reyes broke up after High Noon, he could see how badly what had happened was affecting Sirius' mental heath - losing her parents and then discovering the man she loved had planned to seduce and use her and may have even been responsible for her torture was too much for her. She was trying, possibly without being aware of it, to get herself killed, and even though Liam wasn't entirely sure of Reyes at that point, he knew Reyes did care for her and was the only one who would be able to reach her. So he got them back together.

2. How do they comfort each other?

Cerys knows that Reyes enjoys physical affection - sex, kisses, hugs etc. Honestly, even just being close to Sirius makes him feel better. She isn't above buying him a nice bottle of whiskey either.

Sirius enjoys time away from her job - either at Reyes' cabin or at the hot springs. But she takes comfort in being alone with him, and Reyes is always happy to make things for her once his hold on Kadara is firm.

3. What is their biggest regret?

Oooh boy. Reyes really regrets his original plan to seduce Sirius and use her influence and power in his fight against Sloane. Once he fell for her and realised how much Sirius cared for him, he panicked. He wanted to tell her the truth, but he was terrified that she would hate him. He knew how bad things would look, but he wanted to be honest with her. In retrospect he probably wouldn't be quite so honest about his original intentions.

Without spoiling the ending of Sweet Little Lies (if you haven't read it), Sirius regrets lying to Reyes and going after the remaining Outcasts and scientists herself. But she was dealing with trauma and wasn't thinking straight.

4. What is their favourite place to kiss their partner?

Reyes enjoys kisses on the lips best, but he'd happily kiss every square inch of Sirius. He finds her unbelievably sexy and he does enjoy seeing his mark on her.

Sirius has a real thing with kissing the scar on Reyes' chest. It reminds her how close she came to losing him, and how lucky she is to still have him.

Reyes x Cerys & Cerys x Harry

1. Who is their biggest supporter?

Vetra is a pretty big fan of both Reyes and Harry being with Cerys, and she supports her friend unconditionally. But honestly, Cerys' brother Scott is a pretty big supporter of Reyes and Cerys - he loves seeing his sister happy, and he knows how much she loves Reyes. He's less thrilled when he finds out she's also seeing Harry, but he comes around.

The biggest supporter of Harry and Cerys is probably Lexi, who knows that although Harry might have spent many a year playing the field, he genuinely loves Cerys and he's spent a long time looking for his soul mate.

2. How do they comfort each other?

Reyes and Cerys use physical closeness - just holding each other and being there for each other gives them comfort. Both of them work high stress jobs that are physically and mentally demanding, and they often just need to lie with each other in a dark room and they'll feel a little better.

Harry is always happy to give Cerys hugs when she needs it, but he's a little more practical than Reyes. If Cerys is upset, he'll cook her a delicious meal, break out some wine, and make sure she has something sweet for dessert.

3. What is their biggest regret?

That's easy - Reyes regrets that he had to almost kill Cerys and cause her so much pain when he temporarily separated her from SAM. It was done in the interest of saving her, but he bitterly regrets deceiving and hurting her. Her screams aren't something he'll easily forget.

Harry’s biggest regret is something he's not proud of and something he would never admit to anyone. But he bitterly regrets not pursuing Cerys when she came onto him after Alec died. If he'd hooked up with her back then, he knows that she probably would never have fallen for Reyes, and he'd have her to himself. He would never admit this out loud, and he's happy with their relationship as it is, but deep down he regrets trying to be the good guy and pushing her away.

Cerys regrets many many many of her impulsive actions. Too many to list. But anything that causes Reyes or Harry pain is high up on the list.

4. What is their favourite place to kiss their partner?

Reyes loves kissing Cerys' inner thighs and making her giggle and squirm. He doesn't mind leaving his mark, but it isn't something he aims to do.

Harry enjoys kissing Cerys on the neck, and yes, he absolutely loves leaving his mark on her. The side of her neck and the back of her neck - he finds it very sexy.

Cerys likes kissing the boys on the mouth. She's fascinated by the fact that they both kiss so differently.

I'm sorry, thirty seconds into meeting each other and one walks away with a lasting impression of unremarkable dam that girl was cool and the other walks away with a gut instinct of maybe this is where I find where I belong. and the way they pulled each other closer UNINTENTIONALLY pulls my heartstrings 💗 and also, the way Gina entered the theater program looking for a home. for a family. and got so much more than she bargained for, and while she did find her friends in Ashlyn and Kourtney and Carlos she also found her home (a sacred kind of home 😌) in Ricky. and while Ricky walked into theater for ulterior motives he ended up finding that home and that family too. and to get all that and more from a minute and a half conversation with someone you've never met before is pure romance to me. watch out Romeo and Juliet 😜

image 7: I loved how Ricky and Gina got closer over season three. because while they started out awkward and near strangers because of ej and everything Ricky had/hadn't done over the course of the last semester you could tell. both of them wanted it back, badly. and they fought for it because you can't deny the incredible chemistry and the incredibly feelings and friendship they have for each other. season 3 was so special in the way you can see them grow closer all the while dealing with their own drama. because even in the darkness of each others problems Ricky and Gina have always managed to find their way back to each other - their light. 💡

image 8: for the longest time I didn't understand the point of "say yes to something that scares you." and really, it was Gina all along! Ricky was absolutely terrified of what his feelings for Gina truly meant (doesn't he say this at some point) and also terrified of losing her if she didn't feel the same. he knew it was going to be hard and he knew he was going to have to fight for it and he knew it was going to be the biggest change, the biggest curveball, life was possibly going to throw at him. but he said YES. he said yes to all that, to taking risks, to exploring something unknown and unexplored before, and that is so so special because while Gina didn't scare Ricky, the idea of her - of rina - did. of what they could be. of what they could become. and after their journey of the ups and downs and lefts and rights and all that life had to throw their way, he said yes. Gina said yes. and I love the way they conquered everything in season four together.

I'm a big fan of the Yūji and Sukuna are twins/doppelgängers/the same person theories! So, I suppose my answer is number one, though I don't think it would make Yūji the villain on anything more than a technicality.

As for your second question, of course Megumi will be devastated by the blood on "his" hands, but I really believe he's going to come out the other side of this ordeal intact.

I see Megumi as the symbol of the new generation that Gojō was trying to nurture. He's a child from one of the three traditional jujutsu clans, and also the inheritor of the prized clan technique, powerful enough to defeat a Six Eyes user. Importantly, however, Megumi is also the son of the "black sheep" of that clan.

Tōji, who suffered greatly at the hands of the Zen'in clan, called his son "blessing". Thus, in Jujutsu Kaisen, Megumi is the physical representation of Tōji's hopes and dreams for a better future in this world of curses. When Tōji died, Gojō inherited his hopes and dreams and, indeed, his "blessing", picking up Megumi as his first student and saving him from walking down the path that perpetuates this cycle of suffering.

Because of this, I've always felt that the triangle of relationships between Tōji, Gojō, and Megumi is at the heart of Jujutsu Kaisen. Aside from the fact that Tōji is the man that set the story in motion during the events of Hidden Inventory, there's a lot of history and trauma between these characters. It's obvious how much of an impact Tōji had on Gojō, but the relationships between Tōji and Megumi, and Megumi and Gojō, remain relatively unexplored. I fully expect Gege Akutami to pick up those loose threads before the end of the story.

If Megumi is the symbol of the new generation that Gojō was trying to nurture, then I don't think he's doomed to follow in Getō's footsteps. For Gojō, Megumi is the bridge between the past and the present. His biggest regret was that he couldn't save his best friend. What will Gojō's legacy be if the very first student he took on in the wake of Getō's defection ends up the same way as Getō? It would mean he ultimately failed at resetting the system that led his best friend down that dark path and that would be a very bleak way to end the story.

We talk all the time about Gojō's many failures, but I think we're about to see the fruits of his labour (this also lines up with my personal theory that karma, fate, and cursed energy are inextricably linked in Jujutsu Kaisen — and Tōji, Gojō, and Megumi are at the centre of that!). While things look hopeless for Megumi right now, I think Yūji is the key to helping him out of the darkness he's undoubtedly lost in. They will ultimately become the proof that Gojō's efforts weren't wasted (though I still believe we're heading towards a bittersweet ending), because Yūji will save Megumi before the end of the story — just like Megumi saved Yūji at the start of it. Gojō had faith that his students could see this through, and so do I!

hi!! how do you think they show is gonna portray armandstat? i’m so curious about them and also nicki,i guess we’ll see some louis/nicki parallels but idk,seeing amc is already promoting armandstat i guess they are gonna be big,s3 can’t come soon enough!!!!

I'm probably not the right person to ask about armandstat, I don't like them lol but ! trying to put aside any of my personal feelings/bias/etc. I don't think armandstat is going to be as big of a thing as some people seem to think it will. I could be wrong, of course, but I'm one of the people in the 'armand was lying about most of 2x3' court so.

and to clarify all of this, my thoughts on 2x3 being a lie aren't rooted in questions of lestat's attraction to armand or anything, they're rooted in several other things, namely that 1) the complete omission of gabrielle is extremely telling (and funny) 2) the change from book-to-show regarding lestat's involvement in the theatre is something I'm very much questioning 3) the true appeal of armandstat in the books is that they can't and they won't.

(1) the complete omission of gabrielle is telling to me because if you read through tvl, gabrielle is present for, like, all of the interactions between lestat and armand. and while lestat and armand definitely have their own thing going on, armand just as badly wants gabrielle to love and accept him. so her lack of presence just has me going ??? armand. none of this is real, is it?

(2) truly my biggest 'past' question as soon as 2x3 aired was why did they make lestat a true founder of the theatre? because in the book, lestat is not happy with, nor the mind behind, the theatre des vampires at all. nicki is the main voice behind its creation, and lestat calls nicki petty for it. he gives nicki (and the theatre itself) money out of this obligation and guilt he feels, but he does it at the point where he and nicki hate one another and are ready to say their goodbyes for good. so I think this 'lestat was the main creator behind the theatre' is, at the very least, an embellishment that will be cleared up this season.

(3) truly, at its core, armandstat is interesting because they can't and won't. if they do, it loses, like, 99.9369% of its interest. I've said it a lot before, but I get angry when people try to simplify loumand into being 'armand only loves louis because of lestat' when that's not true at all; armand loves a handful of people and he loves them with his entire soul and existence. armand loves louis, and he loves louis for louis; armand loves daniel, and he loves daniel for daniel; armand loves lestat, and he loves lestat for lestat; armand loves marius, and he loves marius because he had no other choice but to love him. I think people do forget that lestat looks a lot like marius and wears red like marius, and so when armand saw him the first time he associated lestat with marius. this isn't a 'lestat is like marius' conversation, but that the association of the two impacted armand soooo much, especially because lestat was the first person armand really does this 'falling in love with' after being taken away from marius. and, like marius, lestat changed armand's worldview on things with his overpowering personality, his confidence, his ideals. and I think we will see that, but I think we'll also see how lestat immediately clocks armand for what he is, and tells him "We (Lestat and Gabrielle) cannot be Marius for you,' I said, 'or the dark lord, Santino. We are not artists with a great vision that will carry you forward. And we are not evil coven masters with the conviction to condemn a legion to perdition. And this domination - this glorious mandate - is what you must have. (TVL, p. 272)" like lestat knows he cannot ever be with armand. he knows that in his heart. and I think that's so important to them as characters, and I do hope the show goes through with that tbh.

so yeah! those are my armandstat thoughts lol I think we will see their complexities a lot, I think we will see armand desperate for lestat, but I think the truth of it is not quiteeeee what a lot of people are hoping for/thinking

also, I don't think we're going to see a ton of nicki/louis parallels. there really aren't even that many in the book, they're both just sad (but different kinds of sad) and I think the importance of nicki in the show will be to set a framework as to why lestat himself withheld in a certain kind of way in his relationship with louis, and how that was part of their damnation. :)

Through the Looking Glass, Darkly

Some thoughts and theories about Juane on RWBY Vol.9 OP, Episode 1 and onward.

But also something about the OP no one has mentioned yet. Could be minor, or it could be huge.

This contains spoilers, so I’ll do a break and tag accordingly.

So since the teaser and moving forward, and with everything that has been giving to us so far, one of the biggest things I see, and *partially* agree with is:

This is our White Knight, Possibly also the/connected to the White Rabbit (this character is seen with a JACKALOPE towards the end of the OP) and hinted to be Juane.

I agree . . but I do not believe this is ALL of Juane. I think this is only HALF of Juane.

So far, a lot of speculation about this season is about what’s INSIDE. The Within. “What are you?”

In fact, these scene during the OP has the lyrics ‘Inside’ framed on it. Looking in, seeing darkness, seeing nothing. And as pointed out by many others which I did not see before, there is no 11th hour. Hope is lost.

This man is broken. Fractured. Much like his sword.

This card, along with Ruby’s own card, are the only characters to have any other color on them that’s not a hue or tint of their predominate color.

Juane has the red of the blood from Penny, Ruby has white for emptiness, nothingness.

We see Ruby slowing down, loosing her light, lossing her way. She is slowly becoming undone.

But Juane, is already broken, and his mind is fractured. He has had no time to process the fact he had to kill someone dear to himself and even more so to Team RWBY - to Ruby herself. Ruby who is his very dear to him. His first friend at Beacon. His Team Leader buddy, who has helped him through so much.

 It does not matter it was war. It does not matter the sacrifice was necessary.

That scream he let go of when he had to do what was asked of him, was the scream of someone breaking, and then smbolically, so too goes his sword.

And so he falls, he shatters.

So then. . . “What are you?”

Juane no longer can feel like he’s a Hero. Juane can no longer feel like he’s going to be there to save people.

Because now Juane feels like a monster. A killer. A murder.

So now this place takes that fractured mind, that broken boy and makes him into what he feels he really is, a monster:

“. . . or could I lose my mind?” The first time we see the Jabberwalker, it is ‘Seeking, Searching, Scouring, Stalking.’

It then listens, senses danger and after accessing attacks. It then sizes up its target. Then, when it analyzed the battlefield and sees it is outnumbered, it makes the call to Retreat.

A creature of high intelligence and battle field tactics. Voicing its actions as if voicing commands to others, but no one is there except itself. Was able to show great strength against Blake, and then took evasive action.

I think this is actually the real Juane, or rather his mind and soul. I think the White Knight is his empty body, a vessel and little else. A malleable puppet.

Or perhaps the WK part of Juane is what is left of the hero he was suppose to be, and this creature is what he feels he’s become. A danger. A monster.

The Chevrons on the tail seem an interesting choice, and what are Chevrons is just a pointed arc?

Then lastly, the OP - At the end as Ruby falls, she falls downward and passes by all the important highlighting motifs. . . except. . . I saw something peculiar. She’s falling in front of every thing as she descends. .  making this seem like a flat image. Making it seem she’s beyond their reach.

Except. .

This creature is not reaching UP the graphic, it’s reaching OUT of the graphic.

Ruby falls BEHIND this creatures hand.

That is an Animation CHOICE. To me that is SIGNIFICANT.

Also to me the significance of the broken mind is the placement of these two -  the high standing hero figure (top) looking towards the horizon, and the other the demon/monster (bottom) look up towards where it’s trying to reach

But I will stress all of this is just my crazy brain putting little tiny things together, exploding those into a macro level of thoughts and feelings. I feel the WK/WR is a huge subversion, a great one, and no one has questioned what the sanity of an already broken mind could look like. .  because we are instead watching the possible fall and break of another one.

do you ever discuss of you ranking list of the flash seasons yet?? from best to worst?? bc i don't think i've seen any, so i'm curious, hehe.

You know, I don't think I have really ranked the seasons before. It's definitely something that likely changes based on my mood, but some things will stay consistent, like which seasons are my favorites.

So, Flash season's best to worst:

Season 1 - Without a doubt the best season. Everything was really well plotted, there weren't a whole lot of dropped threads. Eobard was at his best as the season's main villain; Barry establishing his friendships with Cisco and Caitlin was so much fun, they all grew to love each other so fast; and Iris discovering herself as a reporter was interesting to see happen. It could have done without Barry's entitlement issues towards Iris (or keeping her unnecessarily in the dark) and the pipeline prison (oh look at all the human rights violations and where are the bathrooms in those cells???) but over all it was a solid first season and set the bar high for the rest of the show.

Season 2 - Second best season. Zoom was derivative of Eobard, but we got Harry who started off seeming shady but quickly turned out to be a traumatized dad who just wanted to save his daughter and the new found family (Team Flash) that he absolutely doesn't want to admit he now loves way too much. It tried new things that didn't always work out and had more dropped plot threads than S1 (and wasted a few perfectly good characters) but there were a lot of really good ideas in there. It could have done with a few of the plots being more firmly tied back into S1 events - Harry's speed theft tech building on Eobard's research into Farooq's powers, Cisco's fears about his powers corrupting him to be more like Reverb tying into his actions with regards to Hartley (when he tortured Hartley, let's not mince words there) - but still a pretty solid season overall and finally brought us Wally West, teasing the possibility of Kid Flash.

The first half of Season 6 - I'm just chopping this season in half here. The first half of this season was superbly plotted. Barry and Iris' grief over Nora's death, everyone's fear and grief knowing Barry would soon be joining her, Cisco wanting to be able to save his bestie when he's lost so many loved ones already, the whole theme about fear of death destroying what makes life living with Ramsey and his blood zombies. The fight over Barry's soul by the Speed Force and Ramsey while Barry breaks down over fake-baby-Nora's crib... and all the parallels between Barry's romantic love with Iris and his platonic love with Cisco.

Season 4 - Harry's obsession with being the smartest and being able to protect the people he loves leading him to endanger himself in the very way he'd find unacceptable if his loved ones did it? So heart wrenching in all the best ways. Seeing how close he and Cisco are, how much Harry's grown to respect and admire Cisco... And while Ralph was at first suuuuuuper annoying, his character growth over the season was really wonderful. He goes from pushing others away (and weaponizing misogyny) to protect himself to being willing to do anything to protect his friends even if it meant destroying himself. He becomes Frost's biggest cheerleader in finding herself as a person (which continues into the next season) and grows to really respect and admire everyone on Team Flash. Cecile really comes into her own as a character here, her transformation from background character to main cast complete. It sucks that the season starts off with Wally leaving - this should have been the season where he earned his place as the Flash and not just Kid Flash. There was so much ableism going on with DeVoe. And the Cisco/Cynthia romance, while cute, was brought down a lot back the fact that the organization she worked for was majorly hypocritical and, well... fascist. There were a lot of pieces that didn't gel well, but it was a major improvement over S3.

Season 5 - I actually really like Nora, even though I get why a lot of people didn't. It was weird having her basically be Barry and Iris' age, though. Would have worked a lot better if she was more like 19~21 somewhere not really a teen anymore, but still very, very young adult. This was also the season where Barry and Iris started acting like an old married couple, emphasis on old. They were acting as if being married meant they stopped doing fun stuff. Frustrating since we never really got a proper dating arc. It was a speed run from dating to moving in together to engaged to not engaged to engaged again to married despite the best efforts of the nazi versions of Oliver and Kara. Honestly, it's been hard to see their relationship as fun at times, but they do get some silly moments here. Also cemented Barry as being oblivious to other people's romantic interests, which has given me so many oblivious arospec headcanons about him over the years. I hated the Iris as a bad mother characterization for future Iris, especially when Iris is actually trying so hard to be a good mom to her adult daughter in the present. Like... no way Iris changed that much. The cavalcade of main villains was bad, even though I saw Eobard coming out on top as main bad guy from a mile away. But the bad guy is Cicada! No Cicada II. No Eobard doing a prison break (though it was a cool prison break, gotta give him props) was just... annoying. The cure was terrible, though and I hate, hate, hated Cisco taking it.

Season 3 - This actually ties for me with S5, but my current mood is that I like it slightly less thought sometimes that's reversed. Flashpoint was a token effort, but it gave us our first glimpse of Wally as Kid Flash. HR was a sweetheart and my fav Wells after Harry. I don't think they ever figured out what they were doing with Julian, but gosh did Barry need a CSI coworker at the CCPD and I was annoyed that it took until S5 for Barry to get another one (his daughter) and she also only lasted one season. *sigh* The OG Killer Frost arc was interesting because it wasn't split personality AGAIN so I was frustrated in S4 when Caitlin's 'not Caitlin but not Frost' S3 ending was retconned into Bruce Banner and the Hulk lite. Savitar had so much promise and so little follow through. Emo Barry's hair in the future was... um... something alright. Possibly the true villain of the season was that hair. Anyway. More ableism with the main villain, but that's basically every season by the end of the show. The plot is almost incoherent at times, but there's a lot of really good character moments.

The back half of Season 6 - Did you think I forgot this half a season I'd chopped off the front half? Well here it is!!! Oh gosh, it was so slowly plotted. Everything dragged out way more than it needed to. They could have fit a whole extra plot arc in there before diving into the mirror arc/speed force issue and it would have been so much better paced. Like, say, Barry actually dealing with the fallout of rebooting the multi-verse? Just a thought? Allegra not wanting Nash to use her as a replacement goldfish for Maya and Nash trying not to do exactly that even as his dad-instincts were screaming 'that's my kid' deserved a lot better nuance than it actually got. Iris' promised storyline isolating her from everyone else while they failed to recognize the fake was a fake was really awful. I realize it suffered technical difficulties due to covid, but it was just. such a let down after that first half of the season.

Season 9 - This actually ties with S7, but I kinda like it more right now so it's rating higher. But sometimes I like it less. S8 is the worst. S9 had some real gems in there. The Rogues team up was delightful, though I wish they'd taken the chance to give Hartley more of his comics character development. But at least he finally got to kiss his boyfriend on screen without the focus moving to Barry's face getting in the way. Red Death arc had a lot of plot holes in it. Iris finally tackling the issue of whether her destiny being Barry's wife ever meant she'd actually chosen anything for herself or just done what she thought she was supposed to. Poorly handled, but I'm still glad it finally got addressed. The four part finale was really representative of the show where the first quarter was the best and the rest was varying levels of suck. Caitlin reached the pinnacle of being side-lined, written out entirely until the final episode to make way for the goddess Khione who came out of the left field, had story lines that would have been 10x better with Caitlin, and then ascended to a higher plane of existence with no real impact left behind at all. What was the point??? Every time Mark Blaine was almost sympathetic, I would remember him throwing a temper tantrum over not being allowed to kill Khione to resurrect Frost. But I actually liked the return of Ramsey, though that absolutely should have been a multi-episode plot. And there were too many cameos going on at once with Dig, Wally, and Oliver - they were well balanced for the time allotted them, but Wally especially deserved more focus time. They had this final chance to officially make Wally the Flash and they wasted it. Oh well, at least I got more Barry/Iris/Eddie headcanon fuel.

Season 7 - The final fate of the Wells characters was insulting. Cisco's send off was insulting, though at least the episode itself had some fun and whimsical moments. The Speed Force being made less of a blue and orange morality type and more humanized made her less interesting. The plot with the forces dragged on. They'd been teasing Godspeed since S5 and he was kinda a let down. Bringing back Eobard to help fight Godspeed made no sense; what would have made sense? Bringing back Nora 1.0 who had actually beaten Godspeed. On her own. After he killed her bestie (and girlfriend???) Lia. Like, they tried to recreate Nora 1.0's grudge match with Godspeed using Bart's trauma over seeing Jay's death but we barely get any interaction with Bart so it just doesn't hit the same. And also, adorable though Bart is... that is supposed to be Barry and Iris' grandson and I cannot ever completely forget that. Dawn and Don are the Tornado Twins and we deserved to get them and we never do.

Season 8 - It had the Armageddon Arc and there was no coming back from that clusterfuck. The plot holes were the size of double decker busses. Eobard was enacting three evil plans simultaneously despite them contradicting each other. The introduction of the Negative Forces and the retconning of the Negative Speed Force as no longer being something artificial that Eobard created. Establishing Frost/Blaine as an official couple. And the season itself had Frost dying for Caitlin who then ends the season by accidentally killing herself too. The Bart and Nora episode in the past was cute, though. And getting an actual good-guy version of Eobard was interesting, but the less said about NSF Avatar!Eobard ripping Matt-obard's face off, the better. *shudders* creepy; I skipped out on most of this season, though. So I'm missing a lot of the smaller arcs. I know it had a *lot* of dropped plot threads all over the place though. The thing with Mia being the most egregious.

Anyway, this is generally the order but it can change up more than this and sometimes I also chop up S7 into halves because the two halves suck but for very different reasons. And sometimes I like S4 more than the first half of S6, sometimes I don't. Tonight I didn't. Nothing beats S1, though.

time can't stop me quite like you did - this is my baby. I've been thinking about this fic for maybe 2 years now. Some dark magic happens while cleaning Grimmauld Place causing Harry and Ginny to get stuck in a time loop. They must work together to figure out how to get out of the time loop and why they are the only two stuck in it. Originally it was a one shot and then I wrote a lot and now its a multi-chapter fic. Hopefully you see this in 2023.

Well to start off I posted a fic this year! I got over that huge mental leap and started to share my work!

I think my detail in my prose have improved. I try to paint more and more of a picture of the scene.

I used to struggle with dialogue, and not I think I have some natural banter and flow! Still needs a little improvement, but that is okay!

To focus when I write. I often write 100 words and then go off and do something else. I want to dedicate some time to writing each week.

23.5: LET’S GO LESBIANS LET’S GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously extremely incredibly insanely excited for this one i cannot wait for this show to bless my screen!!!!!!! i may not be the biggest fan of the whole ‘im gonna keep my identity a secret while messagging with my crush’ thing (mostly because i didn’t really like how it was handled in fish upon the sky so i tend to be a bit on edge about it, it happened with kanthua in the eclipse too), but considering that my soul left my body to go commune with god when ongsa decided to call herself ‘earth’ because the earth orbits the sun, i'd say that's not gonna be an issue sfjksgdksg also the trailer is just SO LOVELY AND CHARMING and i already adore ongsa's different colored beanies and sun's different colored headband and IT'S MILKLOVE SO IM READY TO BE SWEPT OFF MY FEET!!!!!!!!!!

a boss and a babe: yeah i know the title is abysmal but let's talk about more important things like FORECEBOOK MY BELOVEDS!!!!!!!!! i think im possibly one of the very few people who actually enjoyed enchanté and i honestly ADORE forcebook. they have a fantastic chemistry that really shines through when they banter but they also can do UST and pining SO WELL, im just incredibly happy they got another series. im pretty much already in love with book's character and i tend to really like office romance in BLs, so im excited to see them in this kind of setting!!!! if i have to be completely honest though, there's something about the mock trailer that didn't fully charm me, but i can't quite put my finger on what exactly. maybe it's the kind of humour they used? but i wasn't too fond of the humour in roommates of poongduck either and yet i LOVED the show, so that’s hardly gonna be a problem. IT'S TIME FOR FORCEBOOK TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND IM HERE FOR IT!!!!!!!!

cherry magic thailand: since we didn't get a trailer it's hard for me to form a solid opinion on it, though i do admit that out of all the BLs they announced this is the one im less excited about, mainly for two reasons: 1) dark blue kiss is one of the few popular BLs i still have to watch, so im not emotionally attached to taynew, nor am i familiar with any of their other works, which means that without a trailer i really have no idea what to expect acting or chemistry wise, and 2) i know they're gonna be two very different beasts because the thai version is gonna be an adaptation of the manga and not a remake of the japanese series, so im fully aware it's not fair to draw comparisons between the two, but the jp one has such a huge place in my heart and it also gave us one of the very few aroace representation we have in media, it's just gonna be really tough for me to keep the two things separated in my head and to accept the differences between them ;;;;;;;; on a more positive note i have a crush on both sing and jan so my bisexual ass is already sweating

cooking crush: [insert tiffany pollard's beyonce meme] OFFGUN???????!!!!!!???!?!?? god the amount of clownery we've all partaken in thinking they weren't gonna do BLs anymore meanwhile kings were having the time of their lives planning their FOURTH SERIES together. literally the one time im not gonna mind acting like an absolute buffoon sfjkshfksg i think not me will always remain my favorite offgun project but i have a lot of hopes for this one!!! i absolutely LOVE kitchen settings, however i've found all the food BLs i have watched until now kinda.. lackluster. i did enjoy what zabb man, but it's not one of my favorite shows, so i hope that in my time of need offgun will come to me with the food BL of my hopes and dreams. another positive note is that neo is in this as well, and while im a bit perplexed at the choice of not pairing him with louis, im pretty curious to see him act with someone else!!!

dangerous romance: im surprisingly really excited for this????? which i did NOT expect considering that it has an high school setting, but the trailer got me hooked!!!! i only saw chimon in he's coming to me (yes i know i have to watch the gifted I KNOW), while im more familiar with perth because of love by chance and the stranded, but they seem to have a very nice chemistry and i really like that the show will probably deal with more serious topics. im also a simple woman with very simple needs and if you dangle enemies to friends to lovers in front of my eyes i will follow it blindly like a horse with a carrot. also hiiiii papang hiiiiii just wanted to say im free whenever hiiii <3

hidden agenda: JOONGDUNK AND AOUBOOM IN THE SAME SERIES THAT'S ALL I NEED TO BE ON BOARD WITH THIS. star in my mind wasn't the best show but i think joongdunk have great chemistry and they seem very comfortable with each other, so im excited to see them again and for joong to play a less serious character than kluen was. the premise gives me a lot of 2gether vibes, so not particularly groundbreaking, and im a bit worried that the drama in the story could frustrate me a little, but i see pining and i start BARKING, which means this has the potential to have me committed. also i personally find aouboom characters shady as hell but that actually just makes me even MORE EXCITED GIVE ME MEAN GAYS POWER COUPLE PRETENDING TO BE NICE BUT FUCKING THINGS UP FOR EVERYONE ELSE. last but not least: im starting to believe guy could have chemistry with a rock, that one second of him and pod got me like a dog seeing a squirrel just on high alert with my ear up and my body weight leaning forward ready to bite like HELLOO????????? only friends: look there's no point in hiding it: i have some mixed feelings about this show. on one hand it has a stellar cast that im in love with and im always STOKED to see a BL dealing with more mature themes, on the other im afraid these are.. not the kind of mature themes i tend to enjoy ;;;;;;;; it's like with love mechanics, where i simply could not get into it because despite yinwar's insane chemistry the cheating and the messiness were just too much for me: i was feeling more bad than good while watching it, and it just ended up turning an enjoyable experience into an upsetting one. of course im not gonna presume and judge things just from a mock trailer, but the fact that this is gonna deal with toxic relationships is giving me pause. it's really just a matter of personal preferences though and im still gonna give it a chance!!! it's also very nice to see everyone on my dash screaming and being beyond excited about it so im gonna support everyone from the sideline!!!!!

all in all im incredibly happy with what we got and i think it's a pretty good variety: we have school settings and office settings and kitchen settings, we have younger characters and adult characters, we have some light storylines and some heavy storylines.... and we are still far from being able to actually call this 'diverse', but we finally got a GL and a disabled character and it may not be enough but it's a start!!!

Okay we are doing it I am explaining why Shikamaru's revenge run is different than sasuke's and why it's validated more in the series.

Gonna start with the overall basis that Shikamaru was for one not going down a dark path in the need for revenges. The anime really shows this, because it shows what he is like when he is in a dark place. What's interesting is when his dad says he's lucky knowing that Shikamaru wouldn't go do something stupid, because that's just it he really wouldn't, even in his grief, he's more shut-down, scared, guilty at his own powerlessness, which can all relate to Sasuke, but the difference really hit hard with

1) his dad being there, and 2) actually letting him get all those emotions out with one, giant breakdown, instead of it festering and eating him up like it did Sasuke.

Sasuke lost everything from someone he trusted, so that is so much more impactful, and I understand the path he goes down because that's a kid filled with trauma with no support. Shikamaru is deemed an adult by the ninja world at this point, and he's also developed way more than little Sasuke could be. When Shikamaru goes to Asuma's grave he literally says he was going to a dark place but he's better now. And that little growth, even within a short time frame, is already a big step to separate the two.

SECONDLY Shikamaru had the mindset of, this was still a mission assigned to him, and he wanted to see it out. Yes, revenge did drive him and his team, but it wasn't for completely selfish reasons. Tsunade called it out like that, and Shikamaru was completely calm, because his resolve wasn't one of naivety.

You have to remember that this was an upcoming threat, and he KNEW what they were capable of. He felt he was the only one who could take them down with the knowledge he had, and the fact he'd made a plan of action to take them down. He was acting as a shinobi, even if there was personal intent. He was already an extremely capable ninja, who was perfect for this task.

Not only to enact vengeance, but to protect the village, to protect Naruto from the Akatsuki, to stop them from defiling his sensei's grave; if anyone else went to stop them, they would probably die. He wanted to take on the task of stopping them before that happened. His resolve also came from the will of fire, and protecting the next generation. He also had Asuma's child and Kurenia to think about, and who knows what chaos would happen if they got into the village.

It was still a mission. He wasn't leaving the village. He wasn't hurting people or tainting his own body and soul for vengeance. He wasn't pushing people away either; not his team, not Tsunade, not even Kakashi. He was grateful or Kakashi being there. He even proposed sending back up after them. He wasn't going in alone. Him killing an enemy of the village, who was heading their way anyway, to stop them from harming anymore people; that's also the biggest difference.

If Sasuke did the same thing as Shikamaru, it would be deemed the same. But it's not the same at all, it's completely different circumstances. The village had no problem with him wanting to kill his brother. They had a problem with him becoming a rogue ninja and joining up with one of the leaf's biggest threats. They had a problem with him joining the akatsuki and attacking the Cloud Village's jinchūriki. They had a problem with the fact he was losing all sanity in his pursuit for vengeance and was now a threat to the village.

Shikamaru just formed a new team and went back to his mission since the threat was approaching the village, and yes he didn't tell Tsunade and yes he was taking things into his own hands, and yes the Hokage kicked his ass about it; but otherwise? He was doing his duty, with a personal touch.

Okay well first of all, please allow me a moment of excitement for receiving my first Ask ever!

Hello, @coolalicious, and thank you so very much for reaching out to me with an Ask! And for thinking I seem like a lovely person! *blushes* I certainly do my best, lol.

And now for your questions:

1. My favorite season is Autumn. I like when things start cooling down and the leaves start changing colors. I love the smokey smells associated with it once people start burning leaves and using their firepits. I love that they days start getting shorter so there's more darkness and nighttime, and I love the change in the air for a little cooler temperatures where it's still comfortable outside in a hoodie but not outright cold and uncomfortable yet. I love being able to have my windows open to allow fresh air into my home, and I love the rainy days we tend to get with it as well, and the gray skies as things start becoming overcast. (Special shoutout to summer, though, which I hated as a kid for how easily overheated I would get, because now as each year I get older, I swear I get a little colder. There's something to be said for summer warmth, up to a point at least, lol.)

2. (Brace yourself, this is a long response, lmao.) Oof. This one is a little harder to answer because I listen to a somewhat wide berth of music, and my tastes have evolved quite a bit across the years. Also, what I favor in style (for lack of a better description) bleeds across various genres. Overall, my preference for music is instrumental music; for most of my life, I would specify that down to instrumental rock. Now I would expand that out to instrumental tracks in other genres like techno, EDM, soundtrack scores, and other stuff that I don't really know how to describe, lol. If it's highly melodic and there's little to no singing over it, chances are I might enjoy it. Which is not to say that I don't like lyrical music, because I have several groups in that category that I like; it's just that I favor music alone. I like instrumental music because I find that there's a lot more emotion carried within it, and it can tell a different story for whomever is listening to it, can hit whatever emotional beats they need it to for them. For example, I struggle with generalized anxiety disorder and have for most of my life, and one of the biggest methods I had for coping with it in middle school, high school, and college was shutting myself away in my room and just listening to music with no other distraction. I feel like it largely healed my soul when I was hurting, and I needed that. Consequently, it does make it harder for me to revisit some of those songs now, as I have grown to associate them with not feeling well, but I still cherish them. Back when I was in college, you couldn't find me walking around campus without headphones in, whereas now, I probably don't listen to music quite as much as I used to because I've got a lot more going on all the time. But, for some examples of my favorites:

Instrumental rock: My absolute favorite artist in this genre hands-down is Joe Satriani. His music is next level and just completely beautiful. It had a tremendous influence on my life, between carrying me through some of the harder anxiety/stress times and also influencing college projects (including two papers talking about his music and talent, an end-of-course project where I studied emotion and built a whole website for each emotion and wrote a poem for each and selected one of his songs to complement each emotion, and even a poem for one of my creative writing classes where I used his song titles to tell the poetic story). I have every album he's ever released, most of his live DVDs, and have even been lucky enough to see him in concert a couple of times. I highly recommend checking out some of his music. (Other honorable mentions in this category are Nili Brosh, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert, Rob Balducci, and Eric Johnson.)

Lyrical music: I tend to like harder, heavier music for the most part. I really like both Seether and Disturbed, so I have several of their albums. King's X is also a good group that I loved a lot as a child in particular, but still enjoy now. I also like some gothic rock, particularly Within Temptation. Beyond that, I'm the kind of person who has a tendency to hear songs that I like here are there and enjoy but don't go on to consider myself a fan of that artist, as overall I don't care for their music, stuff like "Gasoline" by Halsey, "Bones" by MsMr, "No Light" by Florence + The Machine, "Glitter & Gold" by Barnes Country, etc.

Soundtracks So. Many. In. This. Category. It's a combination of genuinely liking the music but also having a gigantic amount of emotional attachment to many of the stories, as well as the fact that these soundtracks are most commonly instrumental, which as I said, I prefer. I love the soundtracks for The Untamed and for Word of Honor, two of my favorite C-Dramas. I also love the soundtracks for Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. Many of the Final Fantasy games have excellent soundtracks, like FFXV, FFIV, and FFIX. The anime Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle has an exceptional soundtrack (even though I loathe that particular anime because it's so incredibly inferior to the manga, imo), and the anime Noragami also has a good soundtrack.

3. Thanks so much for praising my fics! The perfectionist and people-pleaser within me live for compliments, lol. So, I was actually a little stymied by this this ship when I first started getting into fanfiction for The Untamed. Jiang Cheng was my favorite character by the end of my first time watching the show (I identified with some aspects of his character, and also just wanted to hug him all the time, lol), but while I had liked Xichen, my first time through hadn't ended with me really glomping onto him. So seeing them paired up was like ????? But a friend of mine liked both characters and told me about some of the fics she was reading, so I gave them a try, and almost immediately, I was like "Holy shit this makes so much sense, tho." :p I think their personalities balance out very well with one another. Jiang Cheng is hot-headed and angry and bitter and sharp edges and desperate for love and affection and attention. Xichen is soft-spoken yet firm, calm but not without his own strong feelings, gentle and soft, caring and attentive. I think each can bring out the best traits of the other: Xichen can smooth out some of Jiang Cheng's sharp edges and help him be more level-headed, and Jiang Cheng can help push Xichen past his strict composure and tendency to stay firmly in the middle ground to avoid ruffling feathers. And I think that's just beautiful. I love that it's so easy too, in my experience anyway, to give them both a lot of versatility in the "role," for lack of a better word, that they play in all aspects of the relationship. Like in my "You Are My Fate" series, particularly at the beginning, Jiang Cheng is the stronger and more leading force of the relationship, whereas in my fic "Nothing Else Matters," Xichen takes that role instead.

I'm not sure what the very first XiCheng fic I ever read was, but I do know with certainty that one of the series that hooked me straight away and really got me invested in the characters as a pairing was the "I Have Left the Hearth I Know" series by TrueColours over on AO3, which is one of the best written stories in general and characterizations of both Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen that I've ever read. The author FireAwayy also writes the both of them very well, though unfortunately they have deleted some of their best stories for personal reasons, though there are still good ones left that are worth checking out, like "Furry Porn Costs Extra."

4. I kept this to The Untamed, as I assumed that's what you meant, but I could certainly draw this out into other fandoms, lol. But this reply is already long enough as is, haha!

Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian Well, I of course love WangXian because I feel like you can't make it through The Untamed without loving those two together, lol. I don't read as much of them, probably because I feel like they were covered pretty well in the main story, but there is a lot of good stuff out there for them, like the "To Dwell Inside a Body" series by typefortydeductions. There's something very endearing about opposites attracting, and the loud and bouncy Wei Ying both invigorating and yet also being calmed by the slow and steady Lan Zhan is very sweet and cute.

Nie Mingjue/Jiang Cheng I also like a little Jiang Cheng/Nie Mingjue action on occasion; the author hmc73 on AO3 has written some amazing ones, especially "Lay Your Hands On Me." I like this dynamic as well because I think Mingjue gives off the older, more mature and experienced vibes, which I think Jiang Cheng can really benefit from, but he's also the big burly protector type usually (while also secretly a teddy bear), and while Jiang Cheng canonically is known for his own attitude and fearsome reputation, I think it's not untrue to find his character probably also tired and hurt, both from a childhood of abusive treatment from his parents and also an adulthood of having to fight hard to protect his sect and keep them relevant, so I think it makes sense that someone like Mingjue would be good for him, because who doesn't like to feel protected sometimes, you know?

Lan Xichen/Lan Wangji Listen, I know incest pairings can be a little weird, but hear me out. I think some really interesting character dynamics can be played with when looking at characters raised so similarly, so closely together, etc., especially if you were to approach it in a "Flowers in the Attic" kind of vibe. I also love platonic stories of the two of them as brothers, as I just kind of dig their whole relationship in general, how they come across very diehard for one another, at least so far as they can be in the face other conflicting issues, like love for someone else or duty, etc.

Jiang Cheng/Wei Ying There is so much baggage between these two boys. So much history, so many feelings. Of course there could be a lot to work with here for them as material for relationships. What if WWX didn't leave, what if JC had followed him, modern-day settings where they could be together, settings where they're star-crossed lovers fated for nothing but angst and heartbreak.

Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian/Lan Xichen I've read some really good stories pairing these three together, sometimes in a sex pollen kind of way, but also in a "save Xichen from his seclusion" kind of way. I just like the idea of the tenderness needed to take someone who is at their absolute lowest and show them kindness and love and build them back up while kindling something new.

Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian/Jiang Cheng My fic "Communicate: Learn to Use Your Words So We Can" spells out exactly what I think works about these three together.

Various Configurations with the Juniors I think a lot makes sense for the juniors. Sizhui and Jin Ling make sense together and a mini WangXian, the soft and sweet with the loud and brash. Sizhui and Jingyi make sense together as the soft and serious one with the loud and goofy one. Zizhen and Jin Ling makes sense because Zizhen just seems like a sweetheart who could be nice to even the snottiest little brat (forever solidified in my head when in the show Zizhen sits down for dinner with Jin Ling after everyone else avoids him when he has his little tantrum in the inn when he's yelling at Sizhui).
