#thinking about the general parallels we might be getting between louis/lestat and gabrielle/lestat's father#like i think highlighting that lestat became what he hated the most (his father and even magnus to some extent) is a really important#journey for lestat to go on or has maybe been on to some extent since he got locked in his coffin#after mardi gras#and i think louis and gabrielle parallels are actually very extensive in show context#in terms of the world they lived within and what vampirism could provide them but also couldn't#and they're both the type to shut down when upset until they explode and it's terrifying#where i think lestat's screaming and crying is inherited from his father#anyway i think louis meeting gabrielle and seeing some of her worst traits and seeing how it's like looking in a mirror#and for lestat to realize that he's acted just like his father who abused him his entire life and who abused gabrielle#who became this fearful figure#UGH#anyway

I pair it with the RT interviewer going 'You're both very modest, but you love to brag about each other' (which was vile, she can't say that and expect me to move on). just. adoration oozing from every part of that video.
loved that interviewer, and since she said she went out to dinner with them. that makes me think the "you're modest but love to brag about each other" came from them bragging about each other at dinner, which is just too much to think about. The way they kept complimenting each other musically, with Jacob being SO hyped for Sam as rockstat and Sam taking every chance to talk about Jacob and looking so pleased when he was asked bout the song Lestat would cover and naming a specific RR song... THEY ARE TOO MUCH. IT'S TOO MUCH. TOO MUCH.
the eye contact actually ruined me though, like they're both very intense in their eye contact and it was overly apparent in that video
Saw tweets being like "why is this giving couple gazing into each other's eyes during their wedding vows" and it is not untrue
S3 press tour is going to kill I'm pretty sure. if they were this bad at SDCC when they still had 50+ days of filming to do, I cannot imagine what things are going to look like come January/February when the press really begins. just. constant praising each other. embarrassingly so.
and I saw comments like that directly on the EW video on IG and TikTok and yeah............yeah...................like if I was getting married and my SO was saying stuff like that about me up there that would be the most romantic mess and I'd be so embarrassed to be talking about how much I loved someone that blatantly in front of the world...........

That video was.....so much....they're just so earnest in their compliments and how much they adore and admire each other, like they were being funny but also so sincere and the eye contact and everything, and they're really just too sweet and lovely
I think I've only watched it through twice ?? it's like looking into the sun, it's too much.

#as someone that has been on the receiving end of both of their eye contact habits..............for only a moment..............#idk how either survive actually#too intense#too much#too sincere#too beautiful

What if before lestat’s final concert in New Orleans, he and Louis (who are back together at this point because I maintain rn that that has to happen) go to New Orleans early and we get scenes of them walking to their home like they always did, but they’re hand in hand now and they’re stopping to kiss against iron gates and no one blinks at them being together and this is the life they were supposed to have all along and it just took the world and then another century to catch up and what if we get a shot of them inside St. Augustine’s and they’re holding hands and —

Do you mind me asking which subject you teach? ( I kinda have a feeling it’s English).
it is English! I never wanted to be a teacher, but things happened and I went back and got my BA in Education (I had a BA in English Lit already) and have been teaching since. this is my sixth (???) year? seventh if you include my year doing observations/student teaching.

I know we’ve only seen a few snipers of auvergne but I reallllllllly hope we see some snow!!! I love that we’re seeing Lestat in the sun but I also want to see him all huddled up in the white snow. Do you think there’s a possibility we won’t have a snowy auvergne?
I think we'll definitely see snow in Auvergne!!
I have no idea on how the wolf scene is going to be done (I have some Thoughts that are probably going to send some people into a spiral (unfounded, purely based on me just thinking about the wolf scene constantly and trying to figure out how it'll work)) but I think there are some things that have to be shown and Lestat trekking through the snow, covered in blood, all before stumbling into the dark and dull chateau to get confronted by his brothers is. so foundational into understanding driving factors of Lestat as a person.
and I think him being holed up in that dark, lonely home, sitting by a fire most of the fall/winter, once snuggled up with his dogs at least and then alone after they die, is imagery that I think will explain why their home in New Orleans was !! everything. New Orleans, warm and alive at almost all times of the year, a home full of color and art, a home where Louis was at his side, a home where Claudia was giggling and running around, a home where they laughed and were overflowing with love at least at some point...........ugh
anyway. yes, I think we'll get snowy Auvergne!! it'll explain a lot of why I think Lestat loved New Orleans from just a regional perspective and will highlight his loneliness.

Girl what do you think of the theory that in the show Louis owns vampire nightclubs like he does in the books??? I mean the whole immortal properties has vampire written all over it. Maybe Louis quietly accepting more of his vampiric nature and focusing on his business is starting these vampire nightclubs?
I saw that theory and it's one of the most interesting ones I've seen because, ngl, I kind of forgot about the vampire nightclubs. and it's not that Louis owns the nightclubs, but he talks about them and has gone to them so this idea of taking that beautiful brain of his and creating a business/network of vampiric communication is !!
my main concern/question about that is that the end of S2 is Louis inviting every vampire that wants him dead to come kill him. obviously we're skipping two+ years when we start S3 and things could have happened that changed aspects of that or there might be more vampires on Louis' side than anticipated, etc. but, just in general, it seems more like a way to get himself killed that - despite him being like 'come get me' - is reckless for a businessman.
but I don't think it's something that's out of the realm of possibility, not by any means, especially if he starts them after Lestat's album is first released and is screaming to the world 'I'm a vampire!' like at that point it's marketing and strategic, vampires will rise in popularity - real or not real - and creating vampire nightclubs will be successful and if they allow humans in as well, it can turn into a two birds with one stone kind of situation.

We know Louis and Lestat have major communication issues, they’re unaware of many of each other’s past and present traumas. So would you say they truly know each other? I mean, in the sense of being able to read each other without words, just by looking, and knowing what the other needs.
Or have they never reached that point?
And then I wonder, what makes their bond so intense that they spent nearly a century hallucinating each other?
this is such an interesting set of questions. I was talking to a friend just yesterday (maybe the day before? idk time blurs) about how I can see a possible catalyst of a modern issue with Loustat being the existence of Gabriella. and not even for the weird incest-y things between her and Lestat, that's honestly a secondary issue, but more of just her general existence coming in - as Rolin said - like an asteroid and opening up lots of conversation. and the reason this is related to what you're discussing is because I think that conversation will involve Louis' anger and disbelief and frustration at a lot of things coming out.
like I can see the conversation now. Louis and Gabriella meet, Louis learns who she is, and turns to Lestat completely speechless for a moment. then he just laughs. laughs and laughs and laughs. borderline in tears he's laughing so hard. rambles about Lestat telling him he had to let go of his family and yet Lestat turned his own mother. rambles about how Lestat accused him of withholding and yet Lestat withheld his entire life. rambles about Lestat being a hypocrite, rambles about Lestat not trusting him enough to tell him anything about his life. 'your mom has been running around the earth, as a vampire, since the 1790s and you never mentioned her one time. have I ever known anything about you? did I ever know you at all?' and Lestat is stuck, is frustrated, is at a loss, because he couldn't. his hands were tied. he was trying to protect them. and yet Louis isn't wrong, not really, and that's its own grief. and so they're both lashing out. Louis is talking about how he's not who he was in New Orleans in 1910 and Lestat - well, who the fuck knows who he's ever been?! and then if Louis is seeing this Lestat who is having orgies and sleeping with groupies it's like 'wow, you really never did change' and Louis is shutting down, is business-focused, and Lestat's like 'and it appears you didn't either' and UGH the angst potential is so strong and so painful and so good. and of course they'll get through it, that's a guiding factor of S3 (it has to be) but !! all of this ranting is to say that: I do think that they know each other, and knew each other, and knew each other better than anyone had ever known each of them. I don't think anyone has known Louis better than Lestat, I don't think anyone has ever known Lestat better than Louis. but I think it can seem like they didn't because Lestat didn't share a lot of his past, because Louis didn't share a lot of his most personal thoughts/feelings/fears, because they both withheld so much. but I think they also talked about the things that make relationships....what they are. the little things. I think they spent so much time together, and loved spending time together for a lot of it, and gave each other so much attention because of how deeply they loved one another. Louis is the only one that knows that Lestat's tongue sticks out a little from the corner of his mouth when he's focusing really hard on something. Lestat is the only one that knows that Louis rubs at his left palm when he's upset. Louis is the only one that knows that Lestat's eyes widen just a little whenever he passes a dog on the street. Lestat is the only one that knows that when Louis is asleep in his coffin, he prefers to sleep on his left side and if he's dreaming heavily - good or bad - he presses his face deep in Lestat's arm.
and I think part of S3 will be highlighting how much they do know each other. Lestat crashing, as he is, and Louis is the only one that recognizes [blank] or [blank] or [blank]. I think a lot of what Sam and Jacob were talking about at SDCC during the main panel about how Loustat crash into one another when they're exhausted, how they always come back to each other. and they will !! S3 will bring them together in a way that I think is going to be the most beautiful and painful and awful thing. and they will know each other better than ever by the end. Now, as for what makes the bond so intense, what leads to hallucinating each other for a century?? is it too cliche to say true love??? because I think that's the only answer. it doesn't really make sense from a logical perspective and that's what's great. I am here for romance, I am here for love, it doesn't always need to make sense, I want them insane and obsessed and possessive and beautiful and that !!! is what we're getting
