June 21st 7:26 A.M Hey Miles So I was wondering, can the wright Anything agency borrow some of the prosecutor office space? We uh, can’t really use our office rn It’s kind of a safety hazard Miles 7:35 A.M What on earth are you on about Wright? What’s wrong with your office? 7:36 A.M AC’s down Gonna get wayyyy too hot So What do you say Miles 7:36 A.M How did your air conditioner break? 7:39 A.M … long story? Trucy Miles 7:40 A.M No Find somewhere else to go Work never gets done when your children are involved And why don’t you just get it fixed? 7:45 Apparently a bunch of ACs decided to die Can’t get to us till end of the week So this is more can we stay for the whole We Week Miles 7:48 Still no. 7:50 Fine Enjoy babysitting! :) Miles 8:25 A.M WRIGHT! I told you you couldn’t work here! So why are your children employees here? 8:26 A.M Klavier said Apollo could work with him since they’re on a case together, Athena pestered Blackquill till he caved, and Trucy’s there cause the other two are there So! Can I come work in your office? Miles 8:27 A.M Fine. But only so you can keep them in line. 8:28 A.M Great! I’m on my way up! Miles 8:28 A.M What do you mean “On your way up”?
Not long after sending his question, there was a knock at his door. With a reluctant sigh he called for the person to enter and as expected, it was Wright. The smirk on his face told Edgeworth he’d been waiting. Of course he was. He knew the other prosecutors would let their favored agency members stay here for the week. The only person who would object was Edgeworth himself and all Wright had to do was give him a less favorable option than sharing his office. His two options now were A) Babysit his usual group of children plus the Wright Anything agency himself, or B) Share his office with Wright and have help babysitting. There was only one logical answer.
“Don’t worry, we’ll behave.” Wright had taken a seat on the couch, taking his papers out on the coffee table. So he’d actually brought his work? That didn’t mean he intended to do it. “Our AC is seriously broken. We just need a non-lethal place to work, and the prosecutor’s office seemed like a good idea.”
Edgeworth sighed, “I can’t help every defense agency out like this. What makes you so special?”
“Hmm…” Wright looked like he was thinking about it, but Edgeworth knew he wasn’t. “Boyfriend privileges,” he shrugged.
Edgeworths face turned slightly pink, “That won’t always work. And just so you know, the only reason I haven’t kicked you out yet is because there isn’t anything big this week. Sky and Franziska are flying in tomorrow,” Wright shuddered at the thought of Franziska, “and I believe prosecutor Sahdmadhi and detective Skye are here for work purposes starting Thursday.”
“Well…” Wright still seemed to be trying to do work, Edgeworth’s suspicion didn’t budge. Wright was always up to something, “It’ll be nice to see Prosecutor Von Karma again,” Liar, “And I’m sure Apollo will be happy to see prosecutor Sahdmadhi again.”
Edgeworth nodded and returned to his laptop. He had quite a bit of work to finish before his daughter and sister’s return, as he’d promised to spend time with Sky. When she’d left with her aunt, he’d been very busy and hadn’t even gotten to say goodbye. To make it up to her, he agreed to a movie night when she got back. It’d also be nice to have a runner in the building again. Usually during breaks, when she wasn’t abroad with her father or aunt, she’d help out around the office. This ranged from running papers between prosecutors or the Wright Anything agency, to making sure everyone ate and left at semi-decent times. It was like her part time job.
They sat together in silence for quite a while. The only sound was the scratching of Wright’s pen on paper and Edgeworth tapping on his laptop. Edgeworth’s unease about having the Wright Anything agency around had slowly started to disappear. It helped that Wright kept checking his phone to check in with the others. He had to admit that working with Wright like this was nice. Maybe this week wouldn’t be so bad.
And then the phone rang…
---
“So herr forehead, why can’t you use the agency again?”
“The AC broke,” Apollo mumbled, he was looking over evidence for his case tomorrow.
Simon, who was feeding Taka, looked over, “Did Wright-dono forget to pay the bill?” Athena snickered and Trucy, who had been practising card tricks, stopped.
“No… it wasn’t daddy’s fault. This time.” Apollo smiled at this and Athena covered her mouth to stifle her laughter. “I was working on a new magic trick with Athena… and it sort of didn’t work.”
“And this is why we have a “no fire tricks in the agency” policy,” Apollo hummed and passed a paper over to Klavier.
Simon and Klavier had offered to let them work in their offices, but they’d declined because they did actually need to get work done. In fact, Mr. Wright had only agreed to let them work here (instead of the library) if they agreed to get actual work done. Athena had immediately gotten defensive because “we always do our work” and Apollo just sighed. Mr. Wright did have a point, it seemed outside of court, they never got work done. So, they’d decided to work in the cafeteria away from distractions, Apollo’s idea. Then the distractions decided to join them, Klavier’s idea. However, it’d been about an hour and they’d been working fine.
They were sitting together around a table. Trucy was working on card tricks for the most part, and Apollo and Klavier were working on their case. While Simon was doing paperwork for his case that ended yesterday, and Athena was playing with her mood matrix. It was surprisingly quiet, didn’t they have more prosecutors? A few people had come in for coffee, but the office always seemed too quiet. Klavier and Simon were doing their work on laptops while Apollo had to do it all by hand. He really needed a laptop.
“I’m booorrred, let’s take a break!” Athena piped up.
“Cykes-dono, you haven’t done anything yet.”
“Sure I ha-”
“Playing with your mood matrix doesn’t count,” Apollo grumbled looking up. “And we haven’t even been here for an hour.” He looked up at the clock, “okay, we’ve been here for a little over an hour. But you still haven’t done anything.” He felt a weight drop on his back.
“Come on Polly! Fifteen minutes, I’ll even help you guys after.” Trucy had draped herself over his back and was whining in his ear.
“Well then Fraulein,” Klavier leaned his chin on his hand and looked at Trucy, “ What do you propose we do?”
---
“Chief prosecutor Edgeworth’s office, speaking? Yes?” Wright looked up at him. Edgeworth took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Is that so?” Wright felt a chill run down his spine as Edgeworth glared at him. “Yes, I’ll tell him. I’ll also come down myself. No, don’t tell them.”
“Sooo… What was that about?” Wright had a feeling he knew, but he’d give his kids the benefit of a doubt.
“Come with me.”
Edgeworth stood up and headed towards the door. Wright quickly shuffled his papers together and headed to the door, tripping on the coffee table. So much for the benefit of the doubt, hopefully Edgeworth would let them keep working here for now. Although he had a feeling he was pushing it. He had no problem working in the courthouse library, but the others had asked the prosecutors. So, he figured he might as well ask Edgeworth. They took the stairs down to the first floor where the cafeteria was. Instead of entering right away, Edgeworth stopped at the door.
Confused, Wright leaned into the door. At first he heard nothing, but he knew something had to be wrong because Edgeworth was glaring daggers at the door. Then he heard the faint sound of metal hitting metal. It was followed by cheers and “You can do it!”. He stood up straight and shrugged.
“Sounds like your guys not mine.” He turned to Edgeworth who leveled him with a glare.
“Think again,” he growled as he pushed the door open quietly.
Once they stepped inside, they were met with a cleared out space containing a fight. There was an audience as well made up of prosecutor Gavin, Trucy, Kay Faraday, and Godot who was off to the side watching and drinking coffee. They had their backs to the door and were instead watching Athena and Simon have a sword fight. Since when could Athena use a sword? Off at one of the other tables was Apollo trying to do work still, as always, and closer to the door was Sebastian Debeste. There were even some prosecutors Phoenix didn’t recognize poking their heads through the other door. They ducked out though as soon as they spotted the chief.
“Prosecutor Debeste,” Edgeworth spoke as he approached the other, “what is going on?”
“Ah!” Sebastian was startled and clamped his hand over his mouth, “Mr. Edgeworth! I uh… I’m not sure. This just didn’t seem very safe.” Edgeworth nodded and walked past him.
“It appears I was wrong to assume I didn’t need to make a rule against sword fights.” He stepped up to the group and everyone stopped. Wright swore he saw souls leave bodies once they noticed him.
“Hi Mr.Edgeworth!” Kay cheered, she clearly had no fear of Edgeworth.
At this Apollo looked up and took an ear plug out of his ear. Noticing Wright and Edgeworth he sighed.
“Told you,” he called over to the group, returning to his work. Everyone else, minus Kay who was smiling and Godot who was snickering, hung their heads in shame.
“I believe you all still have work to do. I hope I don’t need to respond to another call like this, if I do, there will be consequences.” He turned towards Godot, “I’d expect more of the oldest person in the room.”
“You expect better behavior from a convict then a bunch of lawyers? Geez how bad behaved are these kids?”
“He said oldest, nothing to do with whether you’re a convict or not,” Wright said from by the door. He hadn’t moved, mostly because he was still trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. As a boss and father he should scold them, he just wasn’t sure how.
They all stood in silence for a bit until Edgeworth turned and left. So he was leaving Wright to clean up? He could do that.
“Well, I’m going to look at my crime scene once more before tomorrow,” Apollo said, getting up.
“No you’re not,” Wright turned to him, “help put the tables back. Then Athena, Trucy, and you are coming to talk to me.” Then the arguing started.
“Why me?” Apollo asked.
“Well you didn’t exactly try to stop us, Polly.”
“Look at that, Trite grew a pair,” Godot started laughing and Wright frowned at him.
“Well what about the prosecutors? And Kay and Sebastian didn’t do anything to stop us!” Athena whined.
“Well I’m a thief! Not a lawyer.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“I don’t technically work here.”
“I’m sure we'll have to face herr Edgeworth later, or he’ll just give us a bunch of paperwork.”
“This is your fault for humoring Wright-chan.”
“You agreed to have a sword fight with the Fraulein!”
“Okay everyone stop! Just clean up, Edgeworth can deal with the prosecutors and Kay. And I’m pretty sure Sebastian was the one who told the receptionist. Now hurry up so we can apologize to Edgeworth.” There was a course of whining and someone muttered snitch. “If you really don’t want to apologize that’s fine,” Wright turned and headed to the door patting Sebastian on the shoulder, “I’m sure the courthouse library won’t mind us working there for the week.”
---
Edgeworth returned to his office before Wright as he’d left his partner to pick up the mess his children had made. Although he’d never call them that out loud, he did think of them as his children. Mostly because they kept causing him trouble. Taking a seat at his desk, he opened his laptop back up and checked the weather briefly. It was supposed to rain tomorrow, but nothing too bad. He could expect his sister and daughter back that evening. Turning Back to his work, he decided if Wright wasn’t back in half an hour he’d call to make sure he was actually picking up the mess.
We've been here so long... Still I remember the rainy September, Contact. Two, four, one, ten. Two four, one, ten. Am I transmitting? Is anyone listening? Contact.
He stopped typing and looked at his phone. She changed his ringtone for herself again, he sighed. She also knew better than to call him during work hours. Still, he picked up.
“Shouldn’t you be having dinner?” He smiled. “Oh? Couldn’t this have waited until tomorrow. I miss you too. Well try to get some sleep, you don’t want to be too tired. Are you at an airport, I thought you two were leaving later. No- don’t change the sub- Yes. I did notice, please stop changing my ringtone. Alright, I love you too. Goodbye.”
“Sky?”
Edgeworth jumped and looked up. Wright was standing in front of him with a smile on his face. So he’d managed to get everyone back to work had he?
“Yes. I’m assuming everyone went back to work?”
“Took some effort but once I said we’d have to work in the court house library if they didn’t stop, they cleaned up real quick. Your prosecutors didn’t want to incur anymore wrath so they weren’t too picky, except Godot… Why is he here again? Isn’t he still serving time.”
“Prosecutor Godot, much like prosecutor Blackquill, still has a job to do,” Edgeworth looked over at his laptop to see Wright settling back down. Wright shrugged at this. “And what’s wrong with the court house library?”
“They can’t play around as much,” Wright hummed, not looking up from his work.
“Well, let's hope the rest of this week isn’t anymore chaotic.” Really, he shouldn’t have said that.

Episode 205: Live Recap/Theories
*Spoilers Ahead*
———————————————
- Not me over here feeling bad for Zeus! While what he did didn’t do much to stop Kronos (he’s powerful at this point so I’m not shocked) I can’t exactly kick him while he’s down? (What exactly happened to his body?)
- Kronos’ line about making Persephone relive her worst nightmares honestly gave me chills. And confirms that he’s either absorbed or sapped the power of the Oneiroi/Morpheus’ father Hypnos.

- But I’m happy to see how determined and brave she is, no threats are greater than her goal. Though I kinda wish we could have seen her go full on goddess of spring kaiju Persephone but we’ll get to that.
- Of course our beloved war twins burst onto the scene and straight into the thick of it. But even though they’re powerful, they still aren’t so easily matched against their grandfather.
So we finally see what we’ve been waiting for since the fates in 75 showed their vision of the future and…
- LETS FUCKING GOOOOO!!!! We see Persephone in her full QUEEN OF THE UNDERWORLD GLORY.

- LIKE GODS THIS IS JUST WOW. ALL HAIL THE DREAD QUEEN PERSEPHONE.
- honestly this got me way more hyped than maybe it should have but I don’t care. Like the art???the music swell?? This right here was worth the wait to see in my opinion.
We see in all her full glory Persephone Queen of the Underworld CROWN, POWER AND ALL. I love that the dress is a subtle blend of the dress we see her in during the fates vision of her, as well as a little of the design from this promotional art:

- As hype as I am about her transformation and status, I’m also worried about what this may mean. Is Hades had to pay some steep prices for his throne, I wonder what Persephone’s will be.
——————————-
Ending thoughts/Theories:
1. While it looks like Athena and Ares weren’t really being shown in their full powerful glory, on reread I can see why. At this point I feel it’s implied that he’s been sucking the power from all who’ve been marked by him in some way. And in the original war against him, even the og Six Traitors had trouble taking him down before Zeus consumed Métis so the struggle here is kinda plausible. Also he’s most likely absorbed the power of the Oneiroi and Morpheus’ father.
2. What do you think Persephone gave in return for her power as Queen of the Underworld? Like Hades said it’s an older than time domain that extracts a price for power and respect over its domain and residents. While Hades hadn’t noticed certain effects of his sacrifice at first, I’m still curious about what Persephone ended up trading.
3. While it’s glossed over in light of bigger developments, Persephone’s injuring via the ring Kronos shoved on her hand is interesting. Would this count being ‘marked’ as it were by Kronos. We know that each of the six traitors (and maybe Zeus mentally) were marked by Kronos that allowed for a mental ‘tether’ to him that allowed for the absorption of pf their power. So another plot thread to really look out for…

3. Dread Queen/Fertility Goddess??? Like of course I’m still working out the full implications of the power the pomegranate grants, it’s not a stretch to say that if these powers are combined at the moment then she is sitting on a whole different level of power. Like the full powers of a fertility goddess AND chthonic ruler?? I really can’t wait for the next chapter!

This is my 4x12 review - skip if you haven’t watched yet.💖
In my opinion the whole Treasure Hunt thing, had a S2 bank mystery vibe about it. Like the silly calm before the storm, again in parallel to right before when Buck was hurt.
I knew the Author jerk is alive the second I saw the actor who played it, the was not one show where he guest starred and wasn’t a jerk 😂😂
So since I did my own version of live writing, I apologize if this is a bit disorganized.
We got so much buddie bread crumbs, that eventually felt like a meal at the end of the episode so let’s start with: Both boys in sunglasses - oh WOW! 🔥🔥
Bobby sending Eddie with Chimney and Buck looking thoroughly unhappy to be separated from Eddie. They nod at each other and while Buck frowns at Chimney, Eddie crosses himself before going to get geared up.
It was a small gesture but very significant because Eddie has already crashed in a chopper (in 3x15 and watched Hen and Strand crash in the crossover) he knows what could go wrong.
Chimney’s “cheer up you can go next time” doesn’t really reassure Buck. I think a “we’ll be fine” or “I’ll keep him safe” would have calmed Buck’s nerves a lot more.
Can we discuss for a second how HOT!! Eddie looked doing the aerial rescue? I mean WOW, I watched it several times. 🥵🥵🥵
The 118 sitting together trying to figure out the riddle was funny, everyone thinking how it’s a bad idea to even consider this to be a real thing, except for Buck, of course. 😂
And while the others are already considering how freaking horrible the rest of their shift is going to be like, because it’s all over the news thanks to Taylor Kelly’s story.
Eddie called Taylor - Buck’s “girlfriend”, but we don’t see his face, we do get to see it, when Buck stresses (for what feels like the millionth time from the sigh and tone of his voice) that she is his friend not his girlfriend.
Eddie’s “Yeah, sure, right.” face is priceless!!😂😂
Buck and Taylor plotting together again, is always hilarious, those two are disaster magnets, it makes for good fun. What bothered me was that Buck offered Taylor to pair up, but re-watching, everybody’s reaction didn’t exactly originally encouraged a teaming up vibe.
However the problem with human nature is - everyone love to obsess over riddles. 😉😉
Eddie jumping through the window into the fire truck? epic!
Eddie did suggest to team up to Buck and I love that even after Buck told him he’s working with Taylor, the look on Eddie’s face melted Buck almost immediately and had him suggesting Eddie joins the two of them. 🥰🥰
The scene in Buck’s apartment, with the three of them Eddie is right between Taylor and Buck in the shot and kind of “talking to himself” was so funny. - Gave me a BBC Sherlock scene between Irene Adler, Sherlock and John.
The way Martin Freeman stole the scene just by dropping small comments. I gotta give it to Eddie, out of all of everything in that scene, Ryan performance is what I’m going to remember. - Acting choices were made all throughout this episode by both Oliver and Ryan.
Also can we talk about the fact that Eddie is now stating little bits of knowledge like Buck now - “I can know weird stuff too” from 4x03 is so haunting me, these boys have totally rubbed off each other. (get your minds out of the gutters... for now anyway 😉)
I love how Eddie and Buck sit down and scratch, just thinking about the fire ants 😂😂
Buck being lowered into the septic tank - notice, Eddie is the one handling the rope, again, his expression worried while Buck is still down there, especially after having to drop him into the water.
I have noticed that Bobby sent Eddie up in the chopper, but is reluctant to send him under ground still 😉🙃
Buck’s “come on” when Eddie and Bobby made a face and walked away from the stench was so funny. Also super adorable on Buck’s part.
I love how Taylor keeps shutting Buck down, it’s amusing to watch now that I know how the episode ends.
Athena being done with idiots the entire episode was hilarious! Angela is a queen!
I loved that 9-1-1 dispatchers were running a bet of places where the treasure may be. (Josh’s “Who thought that was a good idea?” and someone shouting “not it!” had me in stitches 😂😂)
Let’s take a break from buddie for a second:
Hen and Chimney joining the race and Bobby trying to hide his research from Athena was so funny, I mean, she is a police sergeant, there was no way she wouldn’t figure him out.
Bobby planning a future together, a life after the job, and Athena shutting him down. I do think this is what will come between them eventually. Athena making a unilateral decision, without considering even talking about a future with Bobby that doesn’t revolve around them working until they’re either forced out or buried six feet under ground.
I find it interesting because it’s usually the other way around, my mom has been working on my dad to retire for years now so they can travel before both of them are too old to do it. So I kinda get where Bobby’s coming from.
In parallel though, Athena making the unilateral decision like Eddie did when he re-enlisted in 3x15. I do hope Bobby and Athena manage to work things out, I love them together.
Back to the hunt:
Of course Athena worked out where the treasure is, Karen built an algorithm, and Taylor apparently helping Buck and Eddie figure it out bringing all three teams together.
Athena looking to Buck and Eddie asking them if they seriously brought their gear with them and Eddie pointing at Hen and Chimney to divert the attention from them about their med-kits. - like children trying to justify themselves to their parents. 😂😂😂
Wasting time negotiating about the money was hilarious, especially with Taylor in the chopper hovering over them lmao.
And then there was probie - Jesus! I laughed so much. 😂🤦♂️
Also Buck’s “I’m not doing anymore math”, as a reference to “she taught me math”, Buck’s not doing that shit. He calculated enough for one day and he is done! 😂
I do like that Oli and Ryan’s marks are closer together again ❣❣❣
Eddie: “We didn’t kill him” Buck: “We just wanted to” Bobby’s “Shut up” face killed me.
Probie selling them out “I don’t know these ppl.” You don’t say shit like this as a probie 😂😂😂
Also Rick saying “I didn’t actually think it was” and I'm just enjoying the moment, was awesome. I like it when he shows up in episodes, he and Athena make a good and amusing team.
Back to buddie bread crumbs:
Everyone in Bathena’s house, including Taylor, who took the place next to buck, leaving Eddie to sit directly in front of Taylor and next to Chimney. - The “At this point I don’t trust anyone.” cuts to Eddie’s face, that looked as if he’s saying “Seriously dude? hurtful” - The fact that Buck stopped and met Eddie’s reproachful gaze even though they are not directly in front of each other says so much!
Also the “Stop for a second and think about what you said.” looks from Chimney and the others are very meaningful. (#everybody knows 😉) Buck sticking his foot in his mouth and him backtracking are shot directly from Eddie’s perspective. - hmm, I wonder why…? 🧐🧐
And to complete the meal:
Taylor placing Buck directly in the Friend-Zone category, was genius. And while Buck and Taylor have a fun energy together it never really felt romantically oriented. Also I have a certain feeling that seeing Buck and Eddie interact, at Buck’s place and at Bathena’s house and not for the first time either, she knows it will not work between her and Buck.
Buck, trying to feel something more for her, even if in a gentler and way sweeter way than the cursed ship I will not name, it feels forced on his end too - and Taylor lets him off the hook in a gentle way too, I like her for that even more.
I really hope we keep seeing Taylor in a friend capacity for Buck, I think it’s good for him to have support and someone to talk to outside the 118. And I will absolutely worship Taylor if she will be the buddie catalyst, I mean Megan does ship buddie too, it will only be appropriate 😉💖
The episode in itself was pretty nice, I would have probably enjoyed it more if I watched it before LS who absolutely kicked me in the feels today. But I do know that just like 9-1-1 2x15 I’ll go back and watch it like a million times because it is a fun episode to pass the time, and the buddie crumbs were delicious.
The promo kicked me in the feels too, I will not discuss it here right now, but I do hope that that last part won’t be a cliff hanger and we’ll have to wait an entire week for the rest, two weeks of frayed nerves are a LOT to suffer through 🙈
Sending big hugs out there to whomever needs it 🤗🤗🤗

“Of course, in your final moments of life, only he would occupy your thoughts.”

word count: 1.1k

a/n: oof. sorry this chapter took so long to get out. hope you all enjoy it anyway! xoxo
→ series masterlist!

the fifth summer – in which he saves you
For as long as you can remember, you’ve never been too fond of water.
The first time you stepped foot into a big body of water—also known as, the community pool a few blocks away from your childhood home—you cried. For some reason, a lot of water terrified you. You tried taking lessons once, but your instructor couldn’t even get you to step within five feet of the pool.
And your father never forced you to go back.
Over the years, you’ve tried to lessen the fear. And for the most part, you’re not scared of water anymore. You can sit in pools and be on the beach just fine. The only thing is, you still haven’t learned how to swim.
It’s like your body is just incapable of doing so.
There are only a select number of people who know you can’t swim—Namjoon and Haru, to name a few. Which is why they tried to talk you out of doing the canoe races. The weather is always unpredictable, as you never know what the gods are bickering about. And your friends were right: something bad was bound to happen, which is why you should’ve listened to them earlier.
But your stupid ego always seems to be in the way.
As you sink further down into the depth of the water, fear and anxiety begin to fill your veins. Is this really how you’re going to die? Being a demigod means life isn’t certain because danger always lurks in the smallest of places; however, drowning has never been on your list of possible causes.
What a way to out of this world, y/n.
You could already see Charon waiting for you on that boat of his, ready to take you across the river and into the Underworld. A part of you wondered if he’d laugh at you—laugh at the pitiful way you died. Then again, you’ve heard enough stories to know his expression always remained stoic.
Maybe you’ll even end up in Elysium, though you’re not sure you’ve done enough good in the world to deserve a place there. All you’ve been concerned with these last few years is how to get Jeongguk back.
Jeongguk.
Of course, in your final moments of life, only he would occupy your thoughts. How rude and inconsiderate of him. You should be thinking about your sweet friends or your father—but no, the only thing you can see is Jeon Jeongguk’s stupid face in your mind.
Still, you do find it a bit ironic now; you’re terrified of water—literally drowning at the moment—and he’s the son of the sea god.
Life sure does work in mysterious ways.
***
Jeongguk’s POV
All the screaming makes him turn around.
Jeongguk takes a glance behind him, where Athena’s canoe wades only a few feet away. Most demigods feared weather like this—the wild winds and restless waters only promised destruction. But it doesn’t bother him.
This is his father’s domain and Jeongguk feels at ease.
Until he counts the members of Athena’s canoe and realizes that one person is missing—more specifically, you. For the first time in a while, he actually feels his chest tighten in fear. Where did you go? There isn’t anywhere to go—not for miles. Except—
“Oh my god, she can’t swim!”
One of the younger campers on your canoe screams this, and Jeongguk feels something hot settle in his stomach. Without a second thought, he dives into the water.
It doesn’t take him long to spot you, and it seems your half-sibling was right—you really can’t swim. As odd as that sounds to his ears, he swims to you anyway. At the sight of your closed eyes and limp body, a weird sensation tugs at his heart. Why do you have to look so damn vulnerable right now?
Jeongguk realizes then that he’d rather take your fire—the way you’re always challenging him and the anger you possessed—over this frail girl any day.
He wraps his arms around your frame easily, pulling you back to the surface without much difficulty. Lifting you into the canoe, he watches as your half-siblings rush to you. After they take one look at your pale complexion, one bursts into tears while the others rush to perform CPR.
For once, Jeongguk feels useless as he moves back into his own canoe that has pulled up beside Athena’s.
“That was impressive.”
Turning, Jeongguk notices another canoe has pulled up—probably wondering what all the commotion was. His eyes settle on the voice, and he tries not to roll his eyes. But when it concerns the son of Hades, he often cannot help himself.
“Don’t start getting any ideas, Min,” he scowls.
Yoongi has the audacity to smirk. “You said it, not me.”
“I did what any person would do.” Jeongguk doesn’t know why he’s being so defensive. He’s never this defensive.
“Right,” Yoongi hums. “Because saving your sworn rival is totally normal.”
Jeongguk wants nothing more than to rub that stupid look on Yoongi’s face away. Just because he is amicable with the son of Hades—a fellow demigod of the Big Three, and therefore someone he could relate to—it doesn’t mean he isn’t opposed to inflicting a hint of damage. Though, before he can do such a thing, there’s a coughing fit coming from Athena’s cabin.
Relief fills him at the sight of you coughing up water. That’s a good sign. You’re going to be okay.
“Let’s get her to the infirmary,” someone says, and Jeongguk watches as your cabin rushes back to shore.
The rest of the canoes soon follow; even though the weather is starting to clear up, and the winds aren’t as brisk anymore, there’s no point in continuing the races now. Not after what everyone just witnessed.
Once they’re back on shore, Jeongguk jumps out of the canoe and his feet seem to move on their own accord—towards the Big House. Towards the infirmary. What? He shakes his head and decides to go in the opposite direction.
“I saw that slight hesitation, Jeon.”
Jeongguk looks behind him, where Yoongi casually gives him a look. He realizes that Yoongi really seems to be getting a kick out of tormenting him today.
“You saw nothing,” he says, turning back around and towards the cabins instead.
Yoongi moves to match his pace, and Jeongguk looks down at the boy donned in all-black. He has no clue why the dress code doesn’t apply to the son of Hades. “Keep telling yourself that. Denial is normal.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Yoongi laughs. “I guess we’ll just have to see how this unfolds, don’t we?”

Buddie prompt #3: 9-1-1 & Lone Star crossover idea
I’m putting this idea here for someone to claim if they wish. It was originally posted on Ao3 (now with additions), but deleted it due to ToS. If anyone wants this prompt, please comment below so I can delete it after you copy it to prevent similar stories.
His breaking point was a kiss.
One he knew he wasn't supposed to see. With anyone else he would feel like a voyeur, but all he could feel was a dark emptiness opening in his chest.
With Eddie’s truck being in the shop for a tie rod that had broken while at work, sending Eddie into a storm of cursing in Spanish, Ana had picked him up for their latest date.
And dropped him off.
If was a horrible fluke that Buck had stood up to look out the window at just the wrong moment. He should have been in the spare bedroom asleep after a grueling 24 surrounded by all the things he had brought with him when he moved in all those weeks ago.
Buck makes his excuses to leave while Eddie is completely confused and trying to get him to talk. Eddie tries to call Buck but he doesn't pick up.
Buck goes to see Bobby and Athena. It all spills out, including not feeling wanted by his parents. Bobby thinks Eddie is being an idiot but keeps this to himself. He suggests a leave of absence for mental health. Bobby receives permission from his superior to place Buck on open ended leave after giving him a brief explanation of the situation. Ending with him saying to Bobby, “That poor boy. If I ever meet that boy's parents…”
Bobby answers, “Get in line, but there may not be anything left after Athena gets them first.”
TK is surprised to find a sleeping Buck in his Jeep in the parking lot of the 126. An off duty Carlos takes him back to his place where he crashes on the couch. Buck has a nightmare and Carlos talks him down.
Owen calls Bobby saying he has his boy and they'll take care of them. He has a plan and discusses it with Bobby. The whole absence makes the heart grow fonder concept.
“Is it mutual?”
“I’m not 100% sure, but…”
“You can't tell Eddie. Even if he begs for answers for his son, you need to stand strong. It needs to be him asking for himself. If this goes wrong… We'll take Buck in here. He'll have a home with the 126. It will take a while, but we'll help put him back together as best we can until he's back on his feet. He won't be alone.”
Bobby wipes at his face, “Thank you."
“Let's hope this works.”
Eddie is worried and confused why Buck never came home. His phone is going straight to voicemail. Now he isn't there for his shift. Another man comes in and introduced as Buck's temporary replacement. Eddie asks Bobby where Buck is, but he won't give him a straight answer. Eddie is shocked as Bobby's tone is harsh and he glaring at him. Bobby later apologized and explains that Buck requested that only he and Maddie know where he is. Eddie tries to dig, but Bobby just shakes his head with a, “I'm sorry, Eddie. I can't tell you.”
Eddie asks Maddie, but she just slams the door in his face. Chim doesn’t know as she's refusing to tell them where Buck is. Chim delivers her handwritten apology the next day to Eddie. It states Buck needs space from everything, but mostly leaves out the part about Eddie (only one or two things that hint, but it goes over Eddie's head).
Athena almost breaks down and calls Eddie a fool before storming away to her police cruiser. She doesn't know where he is because Bobby refuses to tell her (which she finds annoying yet commendable), but she was there for the why when Buck broke down. She'll apologize after Buck and Eddie return. Hopefully together.
Filler with Buck and the 126 and Carlos. Judd takes him out on a horse like he did Capt. Strand. Fill a pothole on how Grace and him are so accepting of TK's sexuality despite being religious.
A Facetime therapy session where Copeland assures him its okay to get away for a while.
Eddie doesn't quite realize yet that he's slowly losing it, but the others can tell.
Paul and Buck have a conversation.
Christopher asking where Buck is because it's movie night. Eddie doesn't have an answer.
Eddie rages in the station gym trying to understand. He almost gets it, but he thinks Buck is jealous of Eddie, not Ana. Cue Hen groaning under her breath, "You almost got it, Eddie. Come on. Keep thinking."
TK, Carlos, and Paul take Buck out to a club. TK talks absentmindedly to the bartender, even showing him/her a picture of Eddie from Insta. Word spreads about the "new guy," Buck. Others keep the “creeps" away from Buck. Buck loosens up a little while there.
Buck Facetimes Christopher on Carla's phone, only for Eddie to walk in just as Buck is hanging up. He sees Buck's panicked/sad face right before he hangs up. He tries to call back, but doesn't get an answer. Carla huffs and shakes her head. "Figure it out yourself, hun. I can't give you this answer. You need to find it for yourself." Cue Eddie even more confused. This is all just about Buck's parents and jealous over Ana... Isn't it?
Roller derby to cheer on Marjan with the bartender flirting with Buck, who is all kinds of flustered. Carlos, TK, and the others tease him mercilessly.
A massive fire where Buck offers his help. Paul gives Buck as sidehug in gratitude.
Eddie almost punching the mechanic because his truck still isn't done.
Marjan takes Buck out to do something crazy because she's Firefox. (Buck is still starstruck). Maybe skydiving or they race each other at wall climbing? Cue competitive banter.
Owen keeping Bobby updated on Buck.
Buck eventually asks for a transfer. Owen asks if this is what he really wants. Buck just shrugs and asks helplessly what other option he has.
(Optional: Bucks gets up quietly at night for a glass of water and stumbles onto Carlos and TK having sex/making out in the kitchen. Buck either flees in embarrassment or is stunned into watching with Carlos and TK aware that he's there. All parties awkward and/or embarrassed the next morning until TK bursts into giggles and laughter.)
Eddie's relationship with Ana is rapidly deteriorating. Christopher has a full on tantrum. Eddie has to koala hug him on the floor, after Ana brings him back home from a not very good date as Eddie's thoughts were on Buck. Ana tries to help calm him down but Chris screams at her about Buck not being around as much as soon as she started dating his dad. “I hate you! I hate you!” He yells her to get out. Ana still tries to talk. Carla snaps at her to leave. She still tries.
Eddie is spiraling. Flashback of that kiss he really wasn’t ready for, but Ana had asked. It dawns on him that that was the night Buck disappeared. Why would Buck leave because of that? Chris is repeatedly asking her to leave, but she's not listening. She's not listening to his son. He finally snaps and demands that she leaves. She storms out. Relationship dead in the water.
Carla can only watch as Eddie breaks from it all.
The original plan has failed, so it’s time for the final attempt. A blatant hammer strike to Eddie's head to knock some sense into him.
Bobby calls Eddie into his office. He shows Eddie transfer papers from Buck along with a list of Buck's possessions to be boxed and shipped. Eddie is speechless. Thoughts of Christopher and losing Buck. He's losing Buck.
He shows Eddie an email he received and Eddie slowly scrolls through, It's full of captioned pictures. Such as:
-Buck staring off into the distance on a horse.
-Buck curled on a couch looking lost.
-Buck looking drool-worthy in club clothes. The caption: “Holy sh@t! If I wasn't already happily taken…”
-Showing Buck blushing as someone talks in his ear.
-Smiling yet not reaching his eyes while dancing.
-Sitting with his head buried in his hands on the engine’s bumper.
-Helping man a hose at a large blaze captioned with “Yes, we had permission for him to be there.” Followed by a picture of someone (Paul, but Eddie can’t see his face as he’s looking at the ground and hidden by his helmet) sidehugging a sweaty dusty still geared up Buck around the neck with a hand resting on his head.
A video. It's Buck spilling everything curled up in someone's arms (maybe Carlos or Grace). “Why am I always alone! What about me?” Mentions of Abby and Ali. His failed dates. Everyone pairing up. Losing part of his sister to Chim after finally having her back in his life after so many years apart. “And Eddie! Eddie… Why does love hurt so much?” mentioning Chris. Etc.
Eddie is shaking. It finally clicks why Buck left.
One more video. It's Capt. Strand and the 126 facing the camera. He knows where Buck is now - Austin, Texas.
“Buck doesn't know we're putting all this together. He’s asleep. We may or may not have knocked him out with sleeping pills.”
They all lay it out for Eddie. Eddie feels all kinds of stupid and blind. “Now, you have a choice here, Edmundo Diaz…”
“Why… Oh my god. This entire time… ”
“Do you love him, Eddie? As more than a friend? Or am I signing these papers?”
A few seconds after Eddie runs out of the room, a sigh comes from the speaker phone. “I'll get things set up.”
“Thank you, Owen. For everything.”
“You're welcome.”
The whole firehouse going up in a cheer after Eddie floors out of the parking lot in his thankfully finally fixed truck. Hen is shaking Chim or vice versa.
Carla agrees over the phone to keep Christopher after Eddie blurts everything out to her, ending with a “Go get him, Eddie.”
“Did everyone see this but me?” Carla is laughing as she hangs up.
Buck sees Owen call TK over and whispering in his ear. Tk has an interesting reaction before running out of the room with his phone already to his ear.
Flashbacks as Eddie is scrolling through his pictures on his phone while on an airplane. How he missed it. How he didn't understand himself. His fall had been so slow he hadn't even realized it until it was almost, or maybe is, too late. His seatmate makes a comment on his happy “family," and it’s a kick to Eddie's already flayed emotions.
Judd is there to pick him up at the airport, which surprised him.
He's dropped off at a club. Judd makes a snarky comment after handing Eddie a hotel room key card through the window. Eddie rolls his eyes as Judd drives off laughing. The bouncer, having seen the Diaz blazoned on the back of his LAFD shirt, waves Eddie inside, skipping the line. The whispering starts as soon as he enters. Word had spread and they had been hoping for Buck. “Is that…”
“I think so.”
He's shocked as the crowd starts to part for him. The music lowers in volume. People are staring and he's embarrassed, etc., but he sees Buck, who TK has made sure looks phenomenal. Taking a deep breath, he squares his shoulders and walks forward.
Buck is dancing between Carlos and TK. He feels Carlos start smacking TK on the back before they pull away from him. They’re both grinning so wide he suspects their faces are hurting. TK is not so quietly squealing in excitement.
A hand covers his eyes from behind. He immediately recognizes the body wash smell. “Eddie…”
Mini conversation/argument, neither realizing the club has gone dead silent, with Eddie yelling “Because I love you, you idiot!”
The entire club loses it with TK whooping, jumping with a fist punch, and laughing.
End there with a kiss, at the hotel room which may or may not get steamy, or Buck telling Christopher he's home with Chris tackling him to the ground.

Y/N L/N AND THE HALFBLOODS
Percy Jackson X Reader
-Y/N L/N met Percy Jackson and everything was now ruined.
CHAPTER 20: Front Row Seat
Hades was nice. Really nice. I had no idea why they kicked him off Olympus. I think he deserves the world. It was adorable since the three.. four I should correct, of us sat on the floor.
During my short time here, he had reassured me that Me and Mrs. Jackson will not die. He was nice enough to take care of D/N as well. He had even given him Cerberus's old collar. I think he's attached, he couldn't really keep Cerberus here after all.
"Why was Mrs. Rudolph set on me since I was a kid?" I finally asked.
"When you were born... I knew... something was off with you."
"You're the god of the dead not life." I retorted meaner than I thought.
"I couldn't see your life expectancy. I could see you living forever." He stated. "I can sense when one is about to die and when they will. But looking at you I couldn't see anything."
"Woah, I wonder if I'm never going to die. Does it have anything to do with my parent?"
"No." Mrs. Jackson interjected. "That has nothing to do with who your parent is. Since all gods and goddesses has more than one child and none of them are like you. Lord Hades, could we please check on Percy?" She looked at Hades hopeful.
"It's kinda cool how you two are kinda getting along."
"I had sent furies to watch over him... More to jump him but that isn't the point." He cleared his throat. "And the reason why I let her walk is she has information on you."
"Wait she knows? About what? Can you tell me what you know?"
"During the incident in Montauk, your parents and I had a talk. You should get answers from them instead."
"What made you think the big guy would let them go?" I said bitterly.
"I wasn't expecting them to be this low."
"I blame Percy's dad... No offence."
"He deserves to be called a jerk." Mrs. Jackson huffed. "He betrayed you."
Hades got up and D/N followed him, not long after something was projected in front of us.
It was Percy, Annabeth and Grover against Ares.
"Ares gave the bag to us." I told Hades, "He probably has your helm too. Honestly he's my second hated god."
"Second to Poseidon I'll take it." Hades said settling on his throne again. With a flick of his hand two chair appeared. "You wish to watch don't you?"
"Thank you my lord." Mrs. Jackson was relieved.
"Your son better prove his innocence."
Percy turned back to Ares. "Are you going to fight me now?" he asked. "Or are you going to hide behind another pet?"
"Why is he challenging him???" Mrs. Jackson was obviously worried.
"He's a fool."
Ares's face was purple with rage. "Watch it, kid. I could turn you into—" "A cockroach," Percy retorted. "Or a tapeworm. Yeah, I'm sure. That'd save you from getting your godly hide whipped, wouldn't it?"
"I like how we get front row seat on this one." I laughed. Flames danced along the top of Ares glasses. "Oh, man, you are really asking to be smashed into a grease spot." "If I lose, turn me into anything you want. Take the bolt. If I win, the helm and the bolt are mine and you have to go away." Ares sneered. He swung the baseball bat off his shoulder. "How would you like to get smashed: classic or modern?" Percy showed him his sword. "That's cool, dead boy," he said. "Classic it is." The baseball bat changed into a huge, two-handed sword. The hilt was a large silver skull with a ruby in its mouth. "Percy," Annabeth said. "Don't do this. He's a god." "He's a coward," He told her. She swallowed. "...Percy." She took off her necklace, with her five years' worth of camp beads and the ring from her father, and gave it to Percy. "Reconciliation," she said. "Athena and Poseidon together." He gave a smile. "Thanks." "And take this," Grover said. He handed him a flattened tin can that he'd probably been saving in his pocket for a thousand miles. "The satyrs stand behind you." "Grover... I don't know what to say." He patted him on the shoulder. Percy stuffed the tin can in my back pocket.
"Y/N..." Annabeth started. Pulling out from her back was Aphrodite's scarf. Percy looked at it and gripped onto in.
"We'll get her back." he squeaked and took the scarf from her to stuff it in his pocket as well. "You all done saying good-bye?" Ares came toward me, his black leather duster trailing behind him, his sword glinting like fire in the sunrise. "I've been fighting for eternity, kid. My strength is unlimited and I cannot die. What have you got?"
"Hades, can't you like... do something? I really--"
"No. It's his fight. I will not intervene." "But Percy isn't the wrong!!"
"That doesn't matter."
The water pushed Percy into the air and he catapulted over Ares, slashing as he came down. But Ares was just as quick. He twisted, and the strike that should've caught him directly in the spine was deflected off the end of his sword hilt.
He grinned. "Not bad, not bad." He slashed again and Percy was forced to jump onto dry land. He tried to sidestep, to get back to the water, but Ares outmaneuvered him, pressing so hard Percy had to put all his concentration on blocking his attacks.
Mrs. Jackson took my hand.
"He's strong. He'll win this." "Percy!" Annabeth yelled. "Cops!" "Please, at least save him from the cops!!" I said.
"The mist is powerful child. But if you wish, I could clear his name. Both of yours."
"Yes please..." I saw red lights flashing on the shoreline boulevard. Car doors were slamming. "There, officer!" somebody yelled. "See?" A gruff cop voice: "Looks like that one kid on TV... what the heck..." "That guy's armed," another cop said. "Call for backup." Percy rolled to one side as Ares's blade slashed the sand. Percy ran for his sword, scooped it up, and launched a swipe at Ares's face, only to find his blade deflected again. Ares seemed to know exactly what he was going to do the moment before he did it. Percy stepped back toward the surf, forcing him to follow. "Admit it, kid," Ares said. "You got no hope. I'm just toying with you." I saw a second cop car pulling up, siren wailing. Spectators, people who had been wandering the streets because of the earthquake, were starting to gather. Among the crowd, I thought I saw a few who were walking with the strange, trotting gait of disguised satyrs. There were shimmering forms of spirits, too, as if the dead had risen from Hades to watch the battle.
"You sent more that the furies." I frowned at Hades.
"The three had survived all three furies. I obviously needed more than one."
"Rude." More sirens. Percy stepped farther into the water, but Ares was fast. The tip of his blade ripped his sleeve and grazed Percy's forearm. A police voice on a megaphone said, "Drop the guns.' Set them on the ground. Now!" Ares turned to glare at our spectators. There were five police cars now, and a line of officers crouching behind them, pistols trained on them. "This is a private matter!" Ares bellowed. "Be gone.'" He swept his hand, and a wall of red flame rolled across the patrol cars. The police barely had time to dive for cover before their vehicles exploded. The crowd behind them scattered, screaming. Ares roared with laughter. "Now, little hero. Let's add you to the barbecue."
"Stop the fire. Don't let the civilians get hurt!" I told him.
"Don't worry. No one was hurt." Hades said waving me off. Ares slashed. Percy deflected his blade. He got close enough to strike, but his blow was knocked aside. The waves were hitting Percy in the back now. Ares was up to his thighs, wading in after Percy. Ares came toward, grinning confidently. Percy lowered his blade, as if he were too exhausted to go on. Ares raised his sword.
A whimper came from Mrs. Jackson as she buried her face on her palm.
Percy jumped, rocketing straight over Ares was a wave which he rode.
A six-foot wall of water smashed him full in the face, leaving him cursing and sputtering with a mouth full of seaweed. Percy landed behind him with a splash and feinted toward his head, as he'd done before. Ares turned in time to raise his sword, but this time he was disoriented, he didn't anticipate the trick. Percy changed direction, lunged to the side, and stabbed Riptide straight down into the water, sending the point through the god's heel. The roar that followed made Hades's earthquake look like a minor event. The very sea was blasted back from Ares, leaving a wet circle of sand fifty feet wide. Ichor, the golden blood of the gods, flowed from a gash in the war god's boot. The expression on his face was beyond hatred. It was pain, shock, complete disbelief that he'd been wounded. He limped toward Percy, muttering ancient Greek curses. Something stopped him. It was as if a cloud covered the sun, but worse. Light faded. Sound and color drained away. A cold, heavy presence passed over the beach, slowing time, dropping the temperature to freezing, and making me feel like life was hopeless, fighting was useless. I had no idea how I felt all that despite my location. The darkness lifted. Ares looked stunned. Police cars were burning behind them. The crowd of spectators had fled. Annabeth and Grover stood on the beach, in shock, watching the water flood back around Ares's feet, his glowing golden ichor dissipating in the tide. Ares lowered his sword. "You have made an enemy, godling," he told me. "You have sealed your fate. Every time you raise your blade in battle, every time you hope for success, you will feel my curse. Beware, Perseus Jackson. Beware." His body began to glow. '''Percy!" Annabeth shouted. "Don't watch!"
Hades stood up and turned to me.
"He's innocence is proven. You two are free." I looked back. Ares was gone. The tide rolled out to reveal Hades's bronze helm of darkness. Percy picked it up and walked toward the others.
"As promised, you two shall be returned."
"I want to go to Percy." I said.
"You can meet him at the tower. Sally Jackson and I will have a talk then we can send you back."
"A-Are you keeping D/N?" I asked.
He looked at me then D/N. "We'll find that out when we had sent you home."

Road Trip (Ch.1)
Stephen had put his foot down again. He wanted the family to do something together without the use of magic and superpowers, and before Tony knew it, he was in their SUV with Stephen, the kids, and Athena, and starting their road trip to anywhere. There was no set destination, just that they would visit any landmarks or events happening on their way to the west coast and the round trip back. Thankfully it was summer vacation so they had plenty of time to see all they wanted to see.
Even Cassie was with them. She got Scott's permission to join them, and it would give Scott and Quill a couple of weeks to do whatever they wanted without the worry of traumatizing their daughter. Cassie liked spending time with them anyway, and Stephen and Tony figured she and Peter would want to do their own thing every once in a while.
"Tony...I think it's time to pull over for the night." Stephen mumbles.
Tony blinks and glances over at Stephen, and when he finds his spouse glancing at the back of the car, he looks up in the rearview mirror. Every single one of their kids were fast asleep in their seats and most of them had their heads at an angle that made Tony wince. Lucy was unperturbed in her car seat from what he could see in the reflective mirror, but she had more cushion than the rest of the kids. Besides Valerie, they all had just a window or another shoulder to lay their head and it was hurting Tony's neck just to look at them.
There was just one problem.
"Duchess, there isn't anywhere to sleep for miles."
"There's a motel off the next exit."
"I'm not taking my family into a flea-infested--" Tony starts until Stephen interrupts him.
"You're not driving down the highway in the middle of nowhere for the next four hours to find a better one." Stephen says flatly. "Do you want cranky kids with sore necks, full bladders, and empty stomachs? Because that's the only other option if we pull over and sleep in the car."
Tony grumbles and pulls off the next exit. "Alright fine."
The motel at least looked decent from the outside and that was already a positive vote for him. If it had looked any hint of barely managed or infested, Tony would have turned right back around and drove as long as he could before having to pull over. Stephen was right when he wouldn't be able to make it for another four hours, but he could try. But then again, they were out in the middle of nowhere. If they broke down two hours from the nearest--
Wait.
He had super kids. They were all supers save for the two youngest. And Tony took too much care of his cars for there to even be a chance of breaking down. But in the impossible chance they did, William and Harley could go get whatever they needed in five minutes. William's natural ability to teleport at will was a blessing.
"Get us some rooms and I'll wake the kids?" Stephen suggests once Tony parks.
"Actually, just give me a couple of minutes." Tony replies softly before getting out of the car.
Without waiting for an answer, Tony heads inside and to his surprise finds someone sitting at the front desk. The man was kicked back with his feet on the desk and watching tv, but Tony didn't blame him. He imagined the graveyard shift was mind-numbingly boring.
"Could I get a couple of rooms?" Tony asks, getting the man's attention. When said man turned, he could see the name 'Carl' on his name tag. Tony didn't even know name tags were a thing in this kind of establishment.
"Sorry, sir. We've only got one available."
"You're kidding. The parking lot is practically empty!" Tony balks.
"Most people park around back and a couple of our rooms are in need of repairs." Carl says. At least he looked apologetic.
Tony sighs and rubs his eyes. "At least tell me the room has more than one bed."
"It has two queen sized."
"We'll manage." Tony mumbles and takes out his card to pay for the room.
The process was short and Tony soon found himself with the room key and his card and he walks back outside to find the teenagers dozing against the outside of the car with some bags, and Stephen leaning in the back door. The sorcerer was in the middle of unbuckling Diana when Tony joined him, and the engineer motioned Harley over.
"Tater Tot, come help with your sister."
Harley didn't answer. He simply moved away from his slump against the car and Tony and Stephen moved away so he could pick her up and hold her. In the meantime, Tony handed the room key to Peter and had him lead everyone up to the room while he and Stephen retrieved their two youngest. Stephen woke Valerie just enough so that she could get out of her booster and walk over to him so he could pick her up, and then it was Tony's turn. He had to actually climb into the car so he could unlatch the car seat, and then carefully back out of the car with Lucy and her diaper bag in hand without falling on his ass.
Athena loyally waited until the youngest girls were out of the car before hopping out of the car and standing next to Stephen.
"Did I see you give Peter a key?" Stephen asks as Tony locks up the car.
"Our only key." Tony grunts and leads Stephen up to the room. "Apparently they're busier than they look."
"It's still better than the car."
"Maybe." Tony chuckles when Stephen rolls his eyes and they walk into the room that one of the kids kept propped open for them.
Like the outside of the motel, the room at least looked clean. Better yet, Tony didn't get those psychological bug bites after looking around like he would in a room that was clearly poorly cleaned.
Most of the kids were on autopilot as they went through their nightly rituals before bed, but Cassie and Peter were the ones that looked a little less glassy eyed than the others. Probably because Cassie was helping Diana get ready for bed and Peter had the mind to make a couple of web hammocks. They would have to make sure they didn't leave a trace of those in the morning but Tony was sure Stephen would let it slide since ten people would be very hard to fit in two queen sized beds. Harley was sitting in front of the air conditioner and fiddling with it with a growing frown, and the twins were waiting to see where they would be crashing.
"Dad, the A/C isn't working."
"Unbelievable." Tony mutters and sits with Harley to see if they can get the thing to work.
Stephen got Valerie and Lucy changed and in the bed the couple would be using in the meantime, Cassie and the twins bunked in the other bed, and Harley and Peter were going to take the two web hammocks. It took a few minutes for Tony to get the air conditioning to run, but while it blew out cold air, there wasn't a lot of strength behind it. Cassie and the twins were already kicking the blankets off and so was Stephen when Tony finally got up to get ready for bed.
"No portal to Mt. Everest?" Tony asks as Diana crawls into their bed and lays down.
"Not unless the heat becomes a health hazard." Stephen replies as he hands Valerie her stuffed cow.
"Fair enough."
Once Tony was on the bed and settled, Athena finally jumped up and took her usual spot at the end of their bed. She inched her way up briefly to lick Lucy's feet, but Stephen quickly stopped her and made the wolf grumble in annoyance. Tony didn't understand Athena's fascination with licking the younger kids. She even licked their ears.
Maybe Athena really was turning into a nanny wolf.
The cold air helped keep the air less stifling and breathable, and they all managed to get some sleep despite the remaining heat...and the subpar mattresses. Tony had no idea how he managed to sleep on it. He was prepared to have back pains in the morning but he would never admit that out loud. His kids would never let him live it down if he did.
When he woke up in the morning (with the expected kinks in his back), he found the three girls between him and Stephen sprawled out as much as their little limbs could stretch out. Even Lucy was spread out while simultaneously staying as close to Tony as possible. With...his finger in her mouth? When did that happen? She had clearly sucked on it since it was covered in drool.
"She fussed for half a second and you reacted on instinct." Stephen mumbles as if reading Tony's mind. "In your sleep I might add. What exactly do you two do down in your lab where I'm not watching?"
"Come up with diabolical plans to take over the world. What else?" Tony chuckles and sits up, wincing at how sweaty he feels. "Gross. We're all taking a shower before we hit the road again. I do not want to smell sweaty teenagers in a crowded car."
A pillow smacks him in the head and Tony looks over at the opposite bed to find Cassie glaring at him. Yikes. The poor girl had to share the bed with the twins and probably had to smell just that all night.
"Miss Sass gets the shower first." Tony says as Cassie rolls out of bed.
"That's right." She huffs and disappears into the bathroom after grabbing a change of clothes.
"And you want to marry that." Harley grumbles from one of the web hammocks.
"Shut up." Peter throws his shoe at him.
Everyone got up after that, getting their change of clothes ready while they waited for their turn in the shower. There wasn't much of a rush either since nobody minded taking a cold shower, but Tony sent Diana into the bathroom so she could get a washcloth wet. He was going to use it to wipe Lucy down before changing her since she didn't need a bath. Everyone else got showered and dressed within two hours, double and then triple checked to make sure they got everything from the room (and removed all traces of the web hammocks), and loaded into the car while Tony returned the room key.
When he got back to the SUV, it was turned on, blasting cold air, and only Stephen and Athena remained outside of it. The wolf was lapping up the cold water Stephen had poured in a bowl for her and he was making sure everyone had gone to the bathroom so they wouldn't have to stop again in twenty minutes. In the middle of nowhere. Bushes were scarce.
"Can we get donuts for breakfast?" Thomas asks.
"You see a donut shop anywhere?" Tony points out.
"There should be a diner nearby." Stephen says as he picks up the empty bowl while Athena wanders over to some nearby bushes. "I looked for a decent place that was nearby on my phone."
"Diner it is." Tony says and gets in the driver's seat.
"I'm getting extra bacon." Harley announces.
"I want pancakes!" Diana says.
"Fruit!" Valerie pipes up.
"You can have whatever you want as long as I get some form of crappy tea and your father gets his cheap coffee." Stephen tells them and then closes the sliding door once Athena hops in.
Tony makes a face and backs up after Stephen gets in the passenger seat. "Ugh. Cheap coffee. I wonder if it's worth drinking."
"Please drink your crappy coffee." William sighs. "I don't want you to drive half asleep for the next four hours."
"If Tinker Bell is saying something, then I should probably grin and bear it." Tony sighs. "Dum-E has probably made worse."
"You better not be drinking his smoothies again." Stephen narrows his eyes.
"Of course not Duchess. I put those in Lucy's bottles and feed it to her."
Lucy coincidentally lets out a tiny belch and Stephen sighs.
"I wouldn't be surprised at this point."

Alright, time to explain my weeb ass! As promised, I’m gonna tell the reasons why I like each Gold Saint and why I see them as the way I do. Keep in mind, I’ll also may have to make this into two parts because of how long this would be in one single post, so please bare with me! Anyway, onward ho!!!
Libra Dohko
Starting off simple! Being a Libra myself, it’s easy to see that I would like this cool madafaka; He’s basically a better, more sensible version of Yoda. The reason I don’t feel very attracted to him is because I see him as the badass grandfather type, like the cool Chinese grandfather that could teach you how to kick ass while also being chill enough to unwind during tea time. 100% Dope Grandpa through and through.
Taurus Aldebaran
Now for the other one! Alde is a man who’s sweet as sugar cane yet as powerful as a raging bull. Despite his height, he’s a kind man when off the battle field and ready to fight for Athena when on said battle field. He’s not a character I’m attracted to because I see him as a strong yet sweet uncle figure who’s ready to stand alongside ya in both normal life and when fighting. He’s a tender giant of a man who supports those around him. Gentle Giant Uncle 100%.
Capricorn Shura
Now we go on to the tricky stuff. Shura, dear god do I love him. His character ideology is just so interesting due to the differences between the manga and anime. Wielder of the holy sword Excalibur, he could cut you to bits and think nothing of it. There’s also a possible angst hanging over him; He was the one sent to kill off Aiolos, knowing well how it would have affected little Aiolia. Imagine the amount of guilt he had for killing someone’s only family member? Even worse when you take the consideration of him realizing that he was willing to kill an innocent man without knowing about it, meaning he now knows he just tore a family apart and cause so much pain in vain. And please don’t get me even started on the Hades Saga and Soul of Gold. His character is just so great to me and I’m glad he was able to get on good terms with Aiolia in Soul of Gold. Plus, he’s a sexy Spanish man who’s super loyal, so why wouldn’t I love him?
Aquarius Camus
Camus, oh boy... Camus is someone who just gives me a whole array of emotions despite him not openly expressing them himself. On the surface, he is rather cold and distant due to not wanting to draw people into despair by showing exasperation, yet he’s still in control of his emotions rather than just suppressing them. His willing to fight for his ideals and for what he believes as correct (Soul of Gold anybody?), and although his way of teaching Hyoga is questionable at best, his only doing what he thinks will make Hyoga stronger as a saint. Despite being a man who appears uncaring and emotionless, he really isn’t. After all, we’re taking about the same man who one stated about hating people who mourn over the past yet also deeply cares for his pupil and about being true to his word to an old friend. Camus is a man who truly cares for those around him despite him appearing otherwise. He’s also a Frenchman, and who doesn’t love a beautiful French?
Gemini Saga and Kanon
Oh good grief this will be a long explanation. For the sake of respect and love for these two, I’ll be going over them individually because why not make this post into a full on essay?
Frist of all, Saga, poor Saga. Dear lord the amount of trauma this man had to go through is just heartbreaking. A man with an undying loyalty to Athena with an evil split personality... A more tragic version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Not only was he forced to see his evil side kill Pope Shion and take over his identity, he had to see him try to kill baby Athena and send another saint to kill Aiolos; And he had to endure that fact for thirteen years. By the time he was finally free of his evil half, he was practically begging his beloved goddess to forgive him for all the hurt he caused. A powerful yet tragic man indeed. Then there is his relationship with Kanon (of who we’ll talk about in a moment), because it’s also a little sad. Kanon was definitely, a bit of a traitorous prick in the beginning and it was his imprisonment that led to Saga’s split personality in the first place. Yet you could still say that they at least cared for each other despite all the bullshit they must’ve gone through whilst growing up, because Saga was definitely happy in the Hades arc when he found his brother fighting for Athena.
Now for Kanon, fucking Kanon who despite starting out as an infidel of a man, then became a great character in the same vain as his brother Saga. Dude wanted to overthrow the Pope and kill baby Athena but ended up getting his butt locked in Cape Sounion. Now we know what happens there; Finds trident, get’s Poseidon half awakened, poses as the Sea Dragon and yada yada. It’s only when fighting Ikki does he end up changing because it’s then when Ikki told him the only reason he’s even alive is because of Athena’s Cosmo. So, plans in scrambles and now possibly gripped with an overwhelming sense of guilt, he goes over to Athena and without skipping a beat, becomes a shield against Poseidon‘s trident and begs Athena to forgive him before falling unconscious. And of course, we know about everything in Hades arc.
In the end, both men are equally cherished characters of mine and I won’t have it any other way. Also their handsome Greek men who need hugs and kisses and need to be told that they are loved and appreciated, so...
Cancer Deathmask
Oh Deathmask, you beautiful bastard you... Now Deathmask is more of an asshole than Kanon for reasons we all know at this point but I’m guessing his behavior could be explain simply due to the fact he is literally surrounded by death everyday. Like seriously, is it really a surprise that he’s like this when he’s constantly exposed to seeing the souls of the living fall right into practically hell? Nobody would be the same if they had to endure that, especially since most likely he started training to become a saint at a very early age. Now, this is when Soul of Gold comes into play, because god damn it how they wrote his character is just something. Firstly, he’s shown to be an gambling addict and an alcoholic, clearly unhealthy coping mechanisms for not being able to use his cloth and you know, being exposed to death at an early age and onwards for most of his life. Then we have Helena; Now, I’m not gonna lie, the whole ‘Changed better because of love’ trope is very much old at this point but it’s kinda ok because it shows us ‘Hey, even he has the opportunity to change and become a good man’. Deathmask, despite all the things he’s done against mankind, still has the potential to become an honorable Gold Saint and a decent human being; Plus his a sexy Italian who can rock the goatee look, so yay for the crab.
Pisces Aphrodite
Ah yes, the beloved fish boi. Honestly, I love his character simply because he breaks so many boundaries that it would be hard for me not to like him. He plays into the whole ‘appearances can be deceiving’ stick so well; He looks feminine yet his personally is quite the opposite (to some extent). His personality is something that’s interesting to me as well; Despite being so god damn beautiful, he doesn’t act narcissistic at all and doesn’t even care about having his appearance messed up in battle. HIs belief that power and strength are the most beautiful things in the world speaks fucking volumes to me and explains why he was willing to follow the False Pope’s orders. His character in Soul of Gold was just great as well! Like, to see his abilities and power being fully used to it’s full potential was simply badass and I doubt others won’t disagree with me on that one; He was definitely key in the story despite showing little of him. That’s way I love him so much; He’s a gorgeous Swede who can kick your ass and think little of it. He’s the type of man who will look damn good beating you up while shrugging off any damage to his figure like a frickin’ boss... He’s just that dope.
OK, that’s the first part of this really long post; Honestly this took me nearly an entire day to write, like, really. I had to take a break and ended up taking a nap before finishing this, it was that long. Hope many of you agree with my reasons for loving these characters so far and if not, that’s ok! Opinions are fine as long as no one gets hurt, so it’s fine if you don’t like them like I do! Anyway, I’m just gonna rest now because my fingers are killing me. Have a great day guys!

Prompt Fill Part 1/2
I can’t find the exact prompt (im a messy bih) but the gist of it was: Buck is sick and accidentally calls Bobby “dad” or Athena “mom”---I decided to do both.
It’s July now and it’s never been quite so scorching hot as it is the day Buck’s AC decides to break down. He tries to fix it, spends maybe two hours trying to get it to work again before realizing he’s got a higher chance of catching heat stroke than of getting the damn thing to turn on again.
He takes a nice cold shower and within minutes of stepping out of his tub he’s dry from the humidity in his loft. It sucks.
Buck goes to three different stores in the area looking for a new AC unit, only to find out each time they’re all out of stock--- “We can have the model you like shipped to your home or in store for pick up by Monday.” one of the employees tells him, not unkindly.
It’s the best he’s gonna’ get under the circumstances, but that’s also another three days without an air conditioner he’s going to have to suffer through. In the meanwhile he buys a couple of fans, one for his bedroom upstairs and one for the kitchen downstairs.
They don’t do much, except blow the hot air around, unfortunately.
He walks into work the next morning feeling like roadkill--and probably looking like it, too, because the Captain is ushering him to sit down almost immediately upon seeing the state of him. “You getting sick on me?” Bobby tilts Buck’s head up so he can get a better look. His normally bright eyes are glassy and there’s a faint blush of red across his cheeks.
Buck shakes his head, “No, I’m good, just tired.” he admits. “My AC finally kicked it yesterday---new one’s coming in a couple of days---but til then I gotta deal with the heat. Kept tossing and turning all night.” he sighs.
Bobby looks at him in wide eyed disbelief. “Buck, LA’s going through a heat wave right now, tonight we’re supposed to hit triple digits, there’s no way you’re staying in that apartment. We’ll drop by your place at the end of our shift, pack you some clothes and toiletries and you can stay with us until your new AC gets delivered. Sound good?”
It does sound good. Buck knows from experience that during the summers especially Athena cranks up the AC so that their home feels more like a winter wonderland than anything else. But.... “Well, I don’t wanna’ intrude.” He hedges. “I can always ask Maddie---”
“Maddie’s is a one bedroom and the last time you slept over there on her couch you complained about back pain for about a week, Buck. You know Athena and I don’t mind having you over. Plus, it’s a little lonely without the kids around. It’ll be nice, we can invite Michael over for dinner tonight, make a whole thing of it.” Harry is away at space camp for the next two weeks and May is doing a summer course for college credits until the end of the month.
Buck hesitates for only a few more seconds before ultimately agreeing to a weekend sleepover at the Grant-Nash household.
-----------------
It’s late by the time they get off work.
Bobby’s looking forward to dinner with everyone later in the night. They drop by Buck’s loft to pick up a duffel bag and the pit stop only reaffirms Bobby’s decision to have the younger man stay over. The loft is brutally hot---stepping inside almost feels like being cooked in an oven.
Buck is exhausted when they reach home.
He wants to tell Bobby he’s too tired for dinner and a movie tonight; all he wants to do right this minute is take an ice cold bath and go straight to bed, but he can tell the Captain’s excited to sit down with everyone and Buck’s never been one to purposely ruin a good time for others.
“Suck it up.” he tells himself.
Dinner is amazing, as per usual. Buck forces himself to make conversation, forces a grin, eats as much as his stomach can stand at the moment, and is relieved when it’s time to just sit and watch the film Michael brought over.
“It’s a classic, Bobby, I can’t believe you haven’t seen any of the Lethal Weapon movies.”
Athena laughs and teases her husband. “Hey, maybe you and Michael can dress up as Murtaugh and Riggs for halloween this year.”
Bobby looks at the spry and often times reckless character on the screen and shakes his head. “Maybe if I were twenty years younger. Buck, I think you would be the better costume partner in this case.”
Michael turns to Buck, only to realize the kid has conked out for the night. “Well, would ya’ look at that. The old people outlasted the young.” he chuckles.
Athena arches her brow at her ex husband. “And who, pray tell, are you calling ‘old’?”
Bobby laughs, albeit quietly, so as not to wake his sleeping charge. “Makes sense, now that I think about it. Buck didn’t get much sleep last night, given the heat. And today’s shift wasn’t exactly a slow one.”
They’re only half way through the movie but decide to call it an early night, for Buck’s sake.
Athena walks Michael out to his car while Bobby goes to wake Buck so that he can change clothes and sleep on an actual bed. “Up and at em, kid, time for bed.” Bobby jostles him gently.
Buck whines softly but does stir, blinking sluggishly up at Bobby.
“Come on bud, can’t sleep on the couch, you’ll regret it in the morning, trust me.”
Buck is still half asleep when he says, “Don’t wanna’.” burying himself deeper into the cushions underneath him, stubbornly.
Bobby can’t help but smile at the sight. It’s familiar in a way that used to sting a lot more, but now brings a feeling of warmth, too. “I know, you’re comfortable, but I promise you’ll be a lot more comfortable on a bed, c’mon.” He pulls Buck up by the arms, and though Buck groans and whines, he does let himself be lead to the guestroom.
Buck took a quick shower before dinner, to wash away the grime of the day, which is one less thing he has to do before bed. Bobby can tell the kid’s beyond exhausted, so he lets him sit on the edge of the bed while he digs through Buck’s duffel bag for a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. “Alright, here we are, change into these and you can--” Bobby sighs.
Of course Buck is curled up atop the sheets, already fast asleep, by the time he turns around.
“Buck,” Bobby leans over the bed and shakes him, but it’s no use. The fire Captain scoffs fondly and goes about untying Buck’s shoes and carefully taking them off his feet. The kid’s body isn’t even fully on top of the mattress, for goodness sake. One of his legs is still dangling off the side and his head doesn’t reach any of the pillows.
Bobby tries one last time to shake him awake, to make him readjust himself to a better sleeping position, but it’s for naught; Buck is knocked out. Bobby takes it upon himself to move Buck, dragging him up so that at least his entire body is on the bed now.
All the jostling to get him situated right finally does make Buck stir, and big glassy doe eyes blink up at Bobby. “Wha’ happened to the movie?” he mumbles incoherently.
Bobby shushes him. “Bedtime. Close your eyes. I’ll make those chocolate chip pancakes you like for breakfast tomorrow, yeah?”
Buck nods groggily, eyelids too heavy to stay open, even if he wanted them to. “’kay.”
Bobby squeezes his shoulder, just briefly. “Goodnight Buck.”
“G’night dad.” and just like that, Buck is asleep, face tucked into a pillow, his body curled into itself in a way that makes him look impossibly small.
Bobby swallows. Hard.

Travis Stoll Imagine; Dream Girl
Hello!! We are back this Monday with a Percy Jackson Imagine! I started reading the series last week and i’m currently on the third book which is so exciting! I love the Stoll brothers so making this imagine was so fun! i hope you guys like it! :) As always, I apologize if there are any spelling or grammar mistakes, please let me know! And also, thank you everyone for the support and the cute comments i’ve been getting on my other stories! I love you all xx (also, sorry i couldn’t find a better pic to place)
Pairing; Travis Stoll x Reader
Warnings; None
Request; Would write a Travis Stoll x reader who is daughter of Ares who’s Clarisse’s second in command/best friend even though they’re opposite personalities and Connor is so sick of Travis’ pining for her that he decides to get them together?

It was a bright, hot and sunny day in Camp Half-Blood; the satyrs were running in the woods playing hide and seek with the dryads, who turned into trees whenever they tried to steal a kiss from them. Young demigods runnings through the camp wearing those bright-eye-cramping orange shirts, some of the kids from the Hermes Cabin were picking up the locks from the Camp Gift Shop. It was pretty much a normal summer day like any other.
Y/n was sitting down on top of a wooden-table, cleaning and filing her sword, it was something she found relaxing and it helped to calm down her ADHD for a bit. Mid-cleaning, she felt a pair of eyes staring into her. This has probably been the fifth time she has felt it in this week alone. She quickly looked up, not finding anyone on reach staring at her, it was infuriating not knowing who those stares belonged to but she brushed it off, it was stupid to get mad at something childish like that.
“Attention, attention, campers.” The voice of Mr. D, the camp director, said as he walked close by to the campers. Lots of them stop what they were doing to look at the news he was about to say. “Today we will be playing Capture The Flag, in about two hours or so, you all know what to do, gear up and blah blah..” That earned the cheers of lots of campers, and Mr. D with a quick a wave of his hand he dismissed them as he kept walking towards the Big House, to play some pinocle perhaps, as he complained how teenagers were always so loud.
Y/n then kept filing her sword as a blonde haired and all girl walked towards her, Clarisse La Rue, her half-sister. “Did you hear that? We’ll finally get to have another reason to beat up some kids and get back our flag from the Blue team!” The girl exclaimed with a sinister smile on her lips.
Y/n simply chuckled at her words and nodded. “Indeed, sis. It’s been too long since the last time we played, that flag needs to be back on Ares’s Team.” she said as she blew on her sword, grinning at her sister as she nodded.
“C’mon, let’s go get something to eat before the game, my stomach is killing me.” Clarisse said as Y/n tagged alone.
Y/n and Clarisse were both daughters of Ares, god of war. They belonged to Cabin 5, where lots of her other half-brothers lived year-round just like both of them. Ares kids shared lots of physical attributes, like their muscular bodies and tall height, meaning all of them looked big and scary, a good pro when it came to war or simple games like the one they were about to play. But when it came to personality, both girls couldn’t be more different.
Clarisse was the designated Camp Half-Blood bully, she was the one that messed with the new campers, just like she did with Percy Jackson. She would find the tiniest of reasons to start a riot and just set the world on fire if she could, just like their father.
Y/n on the other hand, was a bit more calm. Or well, as calm as a daughter of Ares could get. She enjoyed battles, she enjoyed kicking butt from here and there but sometimes she would just get tired of the same old. She wouldn’t pick fights as much as Clarisse did, well, not now anyways. But whenever her sister needed a fighting partner she would be there without a doubt, not giving a damn who started the fight, simply being there to put up a good show.
Some feet away, behind a tree was Travis Stoll, whose favorite hobby has radically changed from picking-up locks or throwing the best pranks in camp with his brother, to spying on Y/n behind trees…or behind anything really. He saw as the girl of his dreams walked away with his most-hated-camper, who was no one else but her sister, Clarisse.
“I really can’t believe you’re still secretly pinning over her, Travis! It’s been what? Four, five years? Don’t you think it’s time to act like a big boy and tell her for once and for all?” His younger brother’s voice made him jump from his hiding spot as he turned around to face him.
“Connor! Do you have to be that loud all the time?” He cried out, grabbing his brothers shoulder as they walked out of the forests and towards their cabin. “And you know I cannot do that, she’s literally my archenemy’s sister! And best friend! Also, not to forget about her dozen of brothers with anger-issues!” Travis complained, sighing as he kicked a little rock that was in his way. “I don’t know why life has to be so hard!”
“Travis, shut up. Jeez, you’re always complaining, it’s been five years! Five of which I had to hear you whining about Clarisse and how she would maim you if you were ever to confess your feelings for Y/n…can’t we get over that? I mean, the day will come when she’ll maim you regardless of your confession or not..” His brother shrugged, placing a comforting arm around him. “Also, I have a bet going on with Pollux.. and for me to earn the money means that you’ll have to confess your feelings for her today…” Connor confessed with a grin on his lips, highlighting his elvish features who looked so much like his brother’s.
Travis stopped mid-way as he stared at his brother, a deadly stare to be exact.
“YOU DID WHAT?” He sort-of yelled at him, making his younger brother grimace a bit. “How much did you bet, though?” He slowly asked, bit interested after all, money was money.
“Around twenty drachmas and some hundred bucks..” Connor shrugged as he scratched the back of his neck. “Is that an ‘okay brother, I’ll make you win the bet’?” He curiously asked with a sheepish smile.
“Ugh, you’re so gonna share that with me. And you’re gonna do my laundry for a month! After all, I don’t know.. I might end up missing a limb..”
“You always love to exaggerate, Travis. Chill, things might turn good.” He shrugged at his older brother as he raised both of his eyebrows in a funny manner.
Two hours later, after getting something to eat and putting on their armors, the Ares cabin walked towards the centre of the camp, there the rest of their allies, Cabins Four, Nine, Ten and Twelve were already in position and armed with their respective weapons of choice.
The blue team stood on their left side, she could’ve sworn she felt the usual stare again and she just knew it came from the blue team. At least she was a bit closer to knowing who her stalker is.
“Attention Campers, let’s get this over with.” Mr. D’s voice resounded through the crowd, besides him stood Chiron, who acted as the referee and was there in case anyone needed medical help. “For tonight’s game of Capture The flag, the blue team is lead by Annabeth and Percy, who have allied with Cabins Seven and Eleven.” He rolled his eyes as he then proceeded. “And Team Red is led by Clarisse and Y/n, who are joined by the remaining cabins.” He was too lazy to mention all of the cabins but it was no surprise coming from him. “You all know the rules by now, the creek is the boundary line, and the entire forest is fair game. Magic items are permitted, killing and maiming—much to my regret—are not.” He sighed as he tiredly placed his hands on his waist.
“I’ll be close by in case anyone is in need of my assistance.” Chiron commented as he looked at the campers in front of him.
“I believe Travis will be needing your assistance later on, Chiron!” Connor joked, making some of their teammates chuckle as Travis could only blush at the statement, he looked towards Y/n, hoping she wasn’t staring at him now, but much to his luck, she was chuckling along with Clarisse who had a deadly stare at him, making him shriver.
“Yeah, yeah. Well kids, off you go now! Shoo!” Mr. D said as he waved his hands, both of the teams were now running towards the forest and the hills.
The Ares cabin took the lead of the rest of the cabins as they ran towards their different positions, some of them were on border patrol duty as other were hiding behind bushes or trees, waiting for the other campers to come by so they could jump on them.
“Y/n, guard our flag! I’ll try to steal theirs!” Clarisse grinned as she ran off towards the lake, Y/n could only chuckle as she grabbed tightly on her sword and ran towards their red flag, ready to fight anyone who came in sight.
As she ran towards the forest, she could see her brothers fighting with the other campers, or well, the enemies. Her battle reflexes came in handy when someone was about to jump on her but she swiftly avoided her, bringing her sword up as she fought a blonde-haired girl from the Athena cabin, quickly disarming her before sending her flying backwards towards a tree with a hard kick on the chest. She’ll definitely be needing some ambrosia after this, she thought.
She chuckled as she kept running, she had missed the feeling of the air hitting in her face as she ran, the way her instincts would work whenever someone was attacking her, the balanced weight of her favorite sword in her hand.
One of the guys from the Apollo cabin came after her, making her chuckle when she easily avoided one of their arrows as it landed on a tree. “That wasn’t very smart, was it?” She asked with a smirk as she then ran towards him and before he could take another arrow, she kicked the bow out of his hands. “Bad choice.” She said before bringing the sword up, the kid was quick to avoid a hit before he tripped backwards on a branch, she was about to keep fighting as one of her brothers came to her.
“I’ve got this punk! Go protect the flag!” Her brother said before she nodded and smirked at the kid.
“Well, you’re just in luck!” She winked at him before running through the forest once again, making sure to avoid any distractions on the way.
Her feet were fast as she ran, ducking whenever she saw an arrow being shot at her and jumping whenever she would meet with a camper passed out on the floor, not many minutes later and the flag was already in her sight, she came closer to it, checking her surroundings for any enemy in sight.
Not many seconds had passed when she heard some steps coming on her way, she quickly jumped on top of a tree branch hiding, she saw as a guy came close to the flag but did not grab it, instead he looked around as if searching for someone.
She then took the advantage and jumped on top of him, making him land with his back on the floor as she had him trapped between her legs. “Huh, a son of Hermes. I thought it would be one of Athena’s kid the one who would come for the flag.” She said as she brought her sword up to his face, he looked just like every other Hermes’s kid, elvish features, curly hair, tall and kind of cute.
“No! Wait! I’m not here for the flag..” He confessed, having her so close to his body made him shriver, luckily his face was already red from the game if not he would be blushing madly.
“You are aware that we are playing Capture The Flag, don’t you?” She chuckled as she stared at him, her eyes looking directly into his blue ones as he felt the shiest he has ever felt in his life.
“Y-yes, yes! What I meant it’s that, I’ve been meaning to confess you something..” He said as she stood up, holding a hand out for him as he slowly grabbed it, she pulled and helped him stand up.
“Okay, now you’re kind of creeping me out, Travis.. What is it?”
“How.. how do you know who I am?” He asked, kind of surprised she didn’t mistake him for his brother, which happened quite a lot.
“We were friends, remember? When I first got here, you were one of that befriended me. I stayed in your cabin for some weeks before Ares claimed me. We used to play pranks on the Aphrodite kids so much that you thought I was one of Hermes kid’s as well.” She said chuckling as he nodded, he remember those times. That was the time when he started to develop his current huge crush on her.
“I.. I didn’t know you remembered that.” He gave her a bright smile as he scratched the back of his neck in a shy manner, something she thought she had never seen before on any kid of Hermes.
“Of course, I do! Now, what were you going to tell me?”
“Oh! That! Well, you see—” sadly he was too slow and too immersed on their chat that he did not see Clarisse flying at him, knocking him off his feet as they rolled down on the floor.
“It was you!” Clarisse yelled as she threw some punches at him, he luckily evaded some but not all of them, so he groaned when she had delivered a square punch to his right eye.
Now that’s gonna leave a nasty bruise, he thought.
“Clarisse! What are you doing? He was gonna say something to me!” Y/n said as she ran towards them, trying to pull her sister off of him.
“It’s him, y/n! He’s the one who’s been lurking behind trees and staring at you!” Clarisse said with disgust as she stood up from top of him, delivering nasty glances at Travis.
“Oh.. so you’re my little stalker, huh?” Y/n said with a smirk on her lips as she looked at Travis, helping him stand as he slowly nodded, grabbing onto his side as he looked embarrassed.
“Okay, I’ll have to say that that wasn’t the smartest thing to do.. but yeah. It was me.” He confessed to her, giving her a little smile as she stared at him. “And besides that, what I wanted to say it’s that… I like you, like, a lot.” he said. “A crazy amount probably, and I know you may not like me back! Knowing that I’m your sister’s most hated person in this camp besides my brother.. and Percy..” he explained
“This is disgusting! Completely disgusting!” Clarisse gagged at the scene in front of her, she has always disliked the Stoll brothers even more after the little prank they pulled on her few years ago.
“I.. I’m quite shocked, actually.” she confessed, her cheeks tinting a light red but when she was about to actually reply to him, she saw how another figure behind Clarisse and Travis took the chance of the flag being unprotected and quickly snatched it.
In the background, all could hear a horn being played in signal that the game has finished.
The result? Blue team were the winners, once again.
It turns out that, Travis’s younger brother Connor, knowing that he was going to confess his feelings towards Y/n, seized the opportunity of us being entertained by his brother’s confession to grab the flag, it was all part of his plan.
Which helped to ignite even more, the hatred Clarisse had towards the Stoll brothers.
The whole game ended up quite quickly after that, with the campers of the blue team cheering for their new victory and the red team growling at them and cursing them out.
Y/n never had the chance to talk to Travis in that moment, seeing how Chiron with other campers, took the injured ones towards the infirmary to help with the wounds.
That’s when Y/n knew it was now or never. She escaped from the celebrations of the night, walking towards the infirmary to check on the wounded Stoll brother. She walked through it, looking at some of the demigods sleeping on the beds and other being taken care by Argus and some dryads. Once he saw the familiar curly hair, she walked towards it, grabbing a pack of ice a girl was carrying towards him. “I can take it from here.” she explained to the girl as she just nodded and left.
She then walked to his bed, sitting down at the edge of it and softly pressing the ice pack on his already-bruised eye. “Who knew.. that purple eye really suits you.” she softly spoke, waking up the prankster from his nap.
“Y/n? What are you doing here?” he asked as he quickly sat up, groaning from the pain as he realized it wasn’t a good idea after all with his bruised ribs.
“Clarisse really did a number on you, didn’t she?” the girl said as she softly helped him to lay down once again, slowly. “I’m sorry about that, she can be easily carried away by her emotions.”
“I really can’t believe you two are sisters, you two are nothing alike.” he said, wincing as he laid down. “You’re gentle and understanding, meanwhile Clarisse would throw a punch at literally anyone who crosses her path.”
“Well, that’s because I have never really fought with you, you know? When we are in battle, that’s when we are scary alike.” she chuckled, holding the ice pack on his eye as they talked. “So.. I never really replied to what you said to me back there.”
“You don’t really have to. I know it must’ve been silly, I just couldn’t really hold it in anymore, you know? You’re so beautiful and so strong! And you love pulling pranks on people, which is so hot! And whenever you’re fighting you’ve got this beautiful frown that—”
“Could you shut up for a second?” she said quickly before a smirk appeared on her lips. “I know I’m hot and all of that, but I just really wanted to say that… I think you’re really cute.” her smirk turned into a smile at him as she looked at him, he could’ve sworn his insides were on fire, which could’ve been due to the punches he’d got but he knew it was because of her smile. “And I would like to see where this could go..”
“Wait! You’re serious, right? This is not a prank, right? Cause that wouldn’t be so hot..” He explained making her giggle. “It’s not a prank, you dummy!” she interrupted him. “I like you, like, a lot.” she smiled, saying the exact words he had said to her back in the forest.
“Oh! Wow! I— I really, don’t know what to say! Jeez, I think I’m blushing again!” Travis confessed with his cheeks flaming red as he looked at her.
“Shh, don’t talk.. Less words and more…actions.” she smirked before laying the ice pack on the bed and slowly leaning her face against his, until their lips were touched; she was careful to grab his cheek, not wanting to hurt his purple eye as he returned the soft kiss she laid on his lips.
It was all he ever dreamed, kissing her felt like drinking ambrosia, her lips tasted so sweet. His stomach felt like the excitement he would get before pulling any prank, multiplied by a hundred. He just knew that this was it. This was all he ever wished for. This was the girl of his dreams.
That was it, until a wave or realization fell over him as she softly pulled away from him. “Oh, gods! now Clarisse is so going to murder me!”
That only made her laugh even more. “Leave her to me, she’s really not that scary, I promise.” she assured him. “Now, what did I say about talking?” she asked.
“Oh! Yes, yes. Less words, more actions, got it!” he smiled mischievously as he then pressed his lips against hers once again.
“Oh, I forgot to ask. What’s the bet Connor has goin on with Pollux about?” she asked, looking at his eyes for a bit before raising his brow.
“Oh, now you shut up. I’ll explain later, I’m badly injured and I demand more kisses.” he said with the cutest little pout she has ever seen, she rolled her eyes. “It’s just some bruised ribs.. and a bruised eye.” she joked before wrapping her arms around him and kissing him again.

Ooh Baby Baby *Buck series*
I don’t know if your taking request, but if you are, could you do another buck x S.W.A.T reader the teams meeting the new baby? -@stat89posts
You're eight and a half months pregnant, and as much as Buck wants to be home with you on maternity leave, you refuse to let him knowing he can't sit still for anything. The only problem is you can't sleep without him in bed with you.
This particular day, you've been uncomfortable all day. You decided to start putting the stroller together to keep yourself busy while your favorite show played in the background.
You stared at the finished product, where your dog and cat laid fast asleep, testing it. You looked at the time noticing it was later than usual and Buck still wasn't home. Feeling the exhaustion hit you, you headed to your room to change before climbing into bed and sitting there on your phone, rubbing your stomach whenever you felt a kick, slightly wincing when some were stronger than others.
When Buck finally got home you could barely keep your eyes open. "Hey, get comfy. I'm just going to change."
Once you feel the bed dip under his weight you're out like a light. Buck watches you for a minute, his hand on the belly where his daughter is growing, smiling when he feels a soft kick under his hand, "I can't wait to meet you either baby."
Sometime in the middle of the night you feel yourself stir awake, that uncomfortable feeling more intense now. You groan as Buck wakes up, rubbing his face, "What's wrong?" You look at his face as he let's out a yawn, "Nothing, just uncomfortable. I'm just gonna walk around for a little bit, stretch my legs, see if the movement gets her to settle down." Buck nods watching you pull yourself out of bed before falling back on the bed, when you hear his tired humming you smile to yourself before walking across the room a couple times before you hear the sound of water hitting the floor, making Buck shoot up, "What was that?" "I think my water just broke."
You watch as he shoots up in panic mode, "We have to get to the hospital." "Buck relax. We need clothes on first, I'd prefer some not soaking in vagina liquids. Then we grab the hospital bag and go."
He helps you change your bottoms, before sliding shoes onto your feet and helping you down the stairs. When he grabs the hospital bag he looks at where you're standing taking deep breaths, "You don't feel any contractions?" "Oh I'm definitely feeling them, but your panicking enough for the both of us."
As he drives, he's constantly checking to make sure you're okay, he can tell the contractions are getting stronger because you have your eyes closed as you keep breathing.
When you're finally in a hospital room and have been given an epidural the doctor tells you you're almost ready to push. The last thing on your minds is calling anyone to tell them.
A few hours and some screaming later, the two of you finally have your baby girl in your arms. And as much as she looks like you, despite her dad's bright blue eyes, she's already a huge daddy's girl. You watch as he takes her around the room talking to her before it hits him, "We didnt call anyone." "Call Maddie. We get discharged later today and you have the day off. When you go back to work we'll take her to meet everyone. Athena is always there for breakfast anyways. And I'll think of something for my team."
30 minutes later Maddies walking into the hospital room, a small stuffed rabbit in her arms. She can't hide the smile on her face when she sees her younger brother holding her niece. "Shes a precious little thing. What's her name?" You smile, "Evelyn." She ends up staying with you guys, following you back home to help you settle in, and to get some bonding time with the newborn.
The next day Buck looks at you as you both enter the firehouse, you can hear everyone's voices in the kitchen, thankful you can sneak in. Buck heads up the stairs first, everyone greeting him as you wait on the stairs just out of view. "Buck you want any pancakes?" "Uh sure. First I want you guys to meet someone."
You walk up the rest of the stairs the team looking confused when they see your head pop up, "Y/N-" they all stop when the see the baby in your arms and your bump gone. Athenas the first to speak, "Is that?" You can only smile showing her face to everyone as they close in to get a look at the new addition. "It is, she decided to surprise everyone and come early. Little Evie." Buck helps you sit down as everyone passes the newborn around, already having them wrapped around her finger. Eddie jokes, "Good thing she looks like her mom, we can't have another Buck running around."
Athena sits with you, "You didnt call anyone?" "No I didnt even realize they were contractions until my water broke, by that time Buck was already home and freaking out enough for the both of us. We didnt remember until she was already here, so we just decided to bring her and surprise everyone." Athena laughs, "She's definitely a surprise alright. You tell your team yet?" "No. I asked them all out for lunch, told them I'm craving Italian. Gonna walk in and surprise them."
You watch as everyone gushes over her from your spot, until the bell goes off. Buck quickly hands her to you, before kissing your forehead. You watch as everyone climbs into the trucks, waiting until they're out of the building to play the sirens. Athena rubs your back, "If it wasn't for those blue eyes, I'd say shes your mini me." You laugh looking at the girl who's looking at everything around her, "Right. But she's already a huge daddy's girl. The only time she stopped crying was when she was eating or on his chest."
When lunch comes around, you end up getting to the restaurant first. Chris and Jim are the first to arrive, Chris having to do a double take when she sees the baby in your arms, "No. Is that my niece?" You smile letting them pull you into side hugs before letting Chris take Evie into her arms, "Yeah. She didn't want to wait." Jim jokes, "Impatient like her mother." You swat at his arm with a laugh as they both coo over her, "What's her name?" "Evelyn. Buck hated it at first, but hes the one who suggested it after she was born."
The next person was Jessica, who was quick to give you a congratulations. Deacon and Tan arrived, immediately noticing your bump was gone they quickly pulled you into a hug before their attention was taken by your child.
Luca and Hondo arrived together, Luca stopped dead in his tracks getting excited, " No! Shes here?!" You laugh as he quickly wraps his arms around you before he makes his way to the group, "Its my turn to hold the little angel." Hondo pulls you into a hug before letting go, leaving one arm around your shoulders as you stare at your team all fussing over who's turn it is to hold Evie. "So you mean to tell me you went and had a baby without telling anyone?" You chuckle at his joking tone, "To be fair I didnt even know I was having contractions until my water broke. I was more focused on giving birth than calling everyone. So we decided to surprise everyone."
As everyone eats, Evie now in your arms, they all ask you questions, "Wait so you didn't know you were having contractions? And you were having them all day?" "Yeah. Like around noon I just felt uncomfortable, I thought she was just kicking and I was like its getting close to the time shes supposed to be due so maybe shes just getting more active. So I distracted myself. Buck came home around maybe 11 and we went to bed. I woke up super uncomfortable and it just felt like she was moving around and doing flips. They didnt feel like contractions until after my water broke. I was in labor for maybe 15 hours even if I didnt realize it."
Chris gasps, "We were supposed to have a surprise baby shower for you in a couple days." You laugh, "Looks like she beat you to the surprise."
Chris still holds the baby shower, just now with a guest of honor. Both the firehouse and swat are there at the park, along with their kids. Christopher taking a strong interest in Evie. "Buck are you sure you're her dad? She doesn't look like you. Y/N did all the work." You can't hold in your laugh as Buck makes a face at the kid.
As you sit down, taking a break from being a human bottle, you look around at all the people who've you've come to love. The people, you can already see have so much love for your daughter, who's not even a week old yet.

-Yeosang’s P. O. V-
I ran through the dense forest, forcing my legs to go faster. This sense of dread and urgency had filled my entire being for the past hour. I couldn’t quite place why I was feeling like this but I knew I had to get there quick. I didn’t know why I was feeling this but it was a feeling all too familiar to me. Images of them crying out to me for help as they were mercilessly slaughtered painted the walls of my mind, their screaming echoing loudly. With that in my mind I pushed myself harder, my chest heaving up and down rapidly as I ran. I was so focused on getting there in time I didn’t sense those that hid behind the trees until it was too late.
I barely managed to deflect the arrow that was aimed straight for my heart. I grit my teeth when a sword followed that arrow, once again narrowly missing its mark as I blocked it.
“Athena!” I growled, pushing back against her, slamming my shoulder into her to throw her back.
I raised my sword up high, about to cut her down when I froze at the cry that rang through the forest.
“Yeosang!!”
I looked around desperately, trying to figure out in which direction her voice came from. I was only distracted for a second but that was enough for one of them to kick my legs out from underneath me, landing a blow to my face at the same time. There was only one that had that kind of speed, my eyes finding him quickly.
“Hermes.” I snarled, glaring up at him.
I quickly got to my feet but as soon as I did I felt something like a whip hit my back. I turned to see someone I least expected, my eyes growing wide.
“Poseidon?” I expected the rest of them to be here, hell I even expected Apollo but never Poseidon.
“YEOSANG!”
I inhaled sharply at the pain filled shout that filled the quiet forest. I turned in every direction, wanting to go to her but I didn’t know which way to go. Frustrated, I let out a cry of my own, the sound that fell from my lips almost animalistic as the ground shook underneath my feet.
“Where is she!?” I shouted, my eyes darted over all of them, falling on Artemis, the one closest to me, “What the hell are you doing to her!?”
Artemis didn’t even flinch as she looked me dead in the eye, not bothering to answer as Athena spoke for her, “You’re the reason we had to go after her in the first place.”
I whirled around to face her, about to kill her where she stood but before I could bring my sword down Y/N’s screams stopped me. This time she didn’t even call out my name, her cries higher and filled with agony. My hand shook as I gripped my sword tightly, the sense of dread that filled my heart only growing as I continued to helplessly hear her cry out. I knew I could beat them if I just lost myself to my temper and my impulses but if I did that I’d lose control. If I lost control I’d tear this whole forest apart and burn it to ashes, taking her along with them. I bit my bottom lip harshly as I thought of what to do. I could fight them as I was but with hearing her screams every few seconds I don’t know how well I’d fare against them. Each scream, each cry had my heart twisting painfully in my chest, the lump in my throat only growing bigger and bigger.
“Once we’re done with her we’ll finish you off once and for all.” Hermes said as Poseidon continued, “But for now you’ll have to hear the agony she’s going through.”
I inhaled shakily through my nose, my eyes filling with unshed tears for the first time in I don’t know how long, “Why..? Why must you go after everything I care about? Was casting me out of my home not enough for you?!”
Athena raised her head slightly, the look in her eyes filled with contempt, “You, more than anyone, know why we cast you out, Ares.”
“You lot were deceived! I am many things but I would never do that to Hephaestus!” I shouted, already sick and tired of having to defend myself, “You’ve already cast me out so why are you doing all of this?! Why go after her?! She’s innocent in all of this!”
They all just stared at me, emotionless, probably enjoying the look of desperation on my face. I reached out and grabbed Poseidon’s arm, my fingers digging into his skin.
“Please, I’m begging you, stop this,” I begged, my voice breaking as another one of her cries pierced the air.
“You should’ve never given her your mark if you wanted to keep her out of all this.” Poseidon said, his voice void of emotion, “You know exactly how your humans get once their power is unlocked, they’re more troublesome than you are.”
“But she hasn’t even done anything yet! Is that not enough to let her live!? She’s carried my mark with her since she was born, twenty-two years have gone by and she has not once raised a weapon against another! There’s a possibility she may never even unlock that power!” I yelled, my breath catching in my throat as I looked over them, “It doesn’t matter what I say to you does it? You’re going to kill her regardless of how I plead for her to be spared…” I trailed off as I finally realized nothing I said would get them to stop.
“Yeosang! Help me! Please!!”
-
I gasped as I sat up, jolted awake by the nightmare I was stuck in. I was panting heavily, the nightmare still so vivid in my mind. I curled in on myself, clawing at my heart, the organ beating painfully in my chest. The sense of dread had failed to leave me even as I woke up, getting the feeling that this was some kind of premonition. Just the thought sent my heart racing as it throbbed in my chest. As I tried to calm myself I gripped the hilt of my sword tightly, only one thing on my mind as an intense fire burned in my eyes.
……
I smiled softly as the wind carried her laugh over to me, catching a glimpse of the joyful look on her face. But the smile soon left my lips as I caught sight of him, a frown now adorning my face. I’ve been shadowing Y/N for a little over a month now and in that time I’ve seen just how close she is with Apollo. I was sure I threatened him to keep away from her, I guess I’ll just have to teach him what happens when you don’t heed my words. I clenched my hands into tight fists, taking a step towards the two of them but stopped at the voice that called out to me from my right.
“I don’t think that’s very wise, brother.”
I ground my teeth at the sound of her voice, turning slowly to face her, “Athena...you’ve got guts showing your face around me. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
I was trying to stay calm, afraid that if I lost my temper I’d end up destroying everything within miles of where I stood. If I did that then Y/N would get hurt, and that’s the last thing I wanted. So, for her sake, I was holding off on ramming my sword through Athena’s heart. But the condescending look she wore on her face was hard to ignore. I dug my nails into my palm, drawing blood as I forced myself to endure it.
“I have something of importance to talk to you about.” She said, her lips quirking up into a smirk.
“Tell me why you’re here or leave. I have no time for your games.” I snapped, waiting for her to state her business but she kept quiet. I scoffed, glaring at her for a moment longer before turning my back on her.
“It has something to do with that human girl you seem to be fond of.” She called out, the teasing tone in her voice clear as day.
I tensed at her words but kept my back to her, “What about her?”
A moment of silence fell over us, the air surrounding us so tense it was almost suffocating, “I hear you’ve claimed her. If she carries your mark then you know better than anyone what that means. She’s an Athenian so I-”
I couldn’t control myself anymore. I turned on my heel and reached out, grabbing her neck with my hand, “You what?” I seethed, bringing her in closer so our faces were inches apart, my hand squeezing her throat tightly but not tight enough she couldn’t get a word out.
“I have...authority...over her…” She choked out, digging her nails into my wrist to get my to let go but I only squeezed harder.
“Let’s get something straight here, little sister. You can have authority over all the Athenians you like, hell you can have it over everyone else in the world but you have absolutely no authority over Y/N. She is mine and mine alone,” I growled, throwing her to the ground as I stood over her, “You lot have taken all my humans from me, all of them! I will not allow you to take another. I’ll kill you before you even get the chance.”
She scoffed, pushing herself up off the ground, sitting up and staring at me with contempt, “I’ve fought you and won before, I’ll do it again.”
I chuckled darkly as I crouched down in front of her, reaching forward to roughly grab her chin with my thumb and index finger, “Just try it. I can guarantee you won’t win a second time. You’ve all taken everything good I’ve ever had, my home, my people, everything. I will no longer allow you to do as you please. Stay away from her if you know what’s good for you. I will not hesitate to cut you down where you stand. If you do not heed my warning then prepare yourself for a battle you won’t come out of alive, not even your wit will be able to save you,” I spat out, throwing her head back roughly.
I rose to my full height, staring down at her for a moment before turning my back on her. It took everything in me not to kill her in that instant by I restrained myself. For all the hate I had for her and the rest of my siblings there was still a part of me that wished to protect them from all harm, even though I knew those feelings weren’t reciprocated. And knowing that, hurt more than anything but I’ve learned to live with it all these years. But I will not let them get away with threatening Y/N, they can do what they like with me but she is off limits, not even I can touch her.
-Y/N’s P.O.V-
“Wooyoung can you bring in the apples from the back!?” I called out, barely sparing a glance over my shoulder as I placed the last orange where it belonged.
I placed the crate underneath the table, leaving it there for later. As I straightened back out I felt eyes on me. I turned on my heel, seeing the man from the cave standing in the doorway. It had been a month since I last saw him but nothing about him had changed. Actually, now that the sun is out I got to see his face better. I thought he was handsome at night with his hair framing his face due to the rain but I couldn’t even see a fraction of his handsomeness in the rain. With the sun out without a cloud in the sky his skin seemed to glow, his hair perfectly styled out of his face and his eyes, they shined brightly, holding me captive.
“Yeosang…” I murmured without thinking.
He grinned the moment his name fell from my lips, a blush coating my cheeks at the look that crossed his eyes. I quickly looked away, feeling like I was being sucked into those beautiful eyes of his. He chuckled, the sound deep and resonated in my ears.
“I’m glad to see that you remember my name.” He said with a grin still on his face, his tone light as he continued, “I was worried you had forgotten about me already.”
“How could I forget someone like you?” I asked, again speaking without thinking.
When I realized what I said I cleared my throat, glancing at him for a moment only to see the grin on his face widened, his eyes shining brighter than before. Ah, why did I say that? Why am I just saying everything that comes to mind without thinking it over?! What the hell is wrong with me today?!
He chuckled once more, the sound lighter than before, a fondness in his voice as he spoke, “Well I’m glad I made such a strong impression,” His smile softened before it disappeared and a frown took its place, “Though I’m sure it wasn’t a very good impression. I’m sorry about how cryptic I was that night, it wasn’t my intention to frighten you. I also apologize for being so rude to you…”
He averted his eyes as he spoke, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Just the sight had my heart racing. What?! Why are you going out of control?! Stop that!, I shouted to myself, scolding my heart for being so affected by these minuscule actions of his. I shook my head, trying to clear it of the thoughts that wanted to invade my mind, thoughts of him.
“Uh...well…”I trailed off, not knowing what to say, “Apology accepted… I guess…?”
He laughed, the sound different from when he chuckled lightly, dare I say this laugh of his sounded even better than the first, “Ah, you’re a lot more entertaining than I thought…” He murmured under his breath.
“Huh?”
He shook his head, the smile on his face seeming to be permanent. He opened his mouth to say more but before he could another voice interjected, “Y/N! Where do you want these?”
I quickly whipped around to see Wooyoung walking over to me with that crate of apples I had asked him to grab, “Where they always go.”
He didn’t even spare me a glance as he glared at Yeosang, the hold he had on the crate tightening. I raised a brow, confused over what had gotten into him. As I went to question him about it Yeosang spoke up.
“So, do you—do you think you can help me out with a little shopping?” He asked, a bit hesitant to voice his question.
I stared at him in shock, his words catching me off guard. It was such a simple request, one I’ve done for many customers in the past. So why did I find it so shocking coming from him? He must’ve mistaken the shock in my eyes for something else as he began apologizing.
“Ah, I’m sorry. I’m sure you’re busy-“
“No!” I said, my voice higher than normal, “No...it’s—it’s okay. I’d love to help.”
The grin he wore earlier reappeared on his face as he followed after me, deeper into the shop.
-Yeosang’s P. O. V-
I paused for a moment as we walked by Apollo. I gave him a quick glance to see his head was slightly bowed as he gripped an apple tightly in his hands. I smirked at the sight of his obvious anger, loving the way his whole body trembled with the rage he felt within.
“You did well, brother,” I said in a low voice, placing my hand on his shoulder, “I hope you continue to stay out of my way. If you do so you have my word there will be no problems between the two of us but if you slip up even once…” I trailed off, placing my hand on his shoulder and squeezed roughly, drawing a hiss of pain from his lips, “Not only will I pay you back for the betrayal you put me through on Olympus but for touching what is so rightfully mine. I won’t kill you, at first. I’ll put you through so much unimaginable pain that you’ll be begging me to kill you. But that’d be showing you too much mercy and as you know...I’m not the merciful type.”

Percy Jackson & The Avengers: Convergence - some badass demigod training!!
Hello, and welcome back to...my horrible explanation for being absent! Coming up on this episode, you'll see me explain that I had my first 2 lacrosse games of the season and was left with bruised ribs. If anyone ever says that women's lax isn't a real sport cuz there isn't contact, you can tell them that someone from a fanfic website said they had bruised ribs from playing.
Anyway, I hope you like this chapter. We're starting to get some actual plot movement I think so have fun with that. Honestly, I kinda forgot what happened in here so...yeah. Please comment, like, follow, and reblog! Stay safe & happy reading!
- your author
Ω ♆ Ω
Percy and Annabeth woke up to the sound of a startled shout. Frank's startled shout, to be specific. They both shot up right away, their battle instincts kicking in, but Frank had seen enough.
"Seriously guys!? Again?" he exclaimed.
"Nothing happened!" Annabeth reassured, "We just fell asleep!"
"We did kiss a little," Percy muttered, and Annabeth shot him a death glare.
"Not. Helping," she whispered scathingly.
A sense of complete déjà vu washed over Percy. Except this time, the rest of the Seven were standing in the doorway, watching on with various amused expressions on their faces.
"Oh, this is perfect. Coach Hedge is gonna love this," Leo smiled in maniacal glee.
"No, Leo," Piper ordered, "You're not going to do that. Instead, we are going to get this meeting over with so I can get some sleep."
"Aw...you ruin all my fun!" he exclaimed.
"Someone's gotta do it when Calypso isn't here," Piper said.
It was true. Calypso and Piper are probably the only ones who could actually control Leo. Calypso because of Leo's fear of losing her or just general fear of her, and Piper because of her charmspeak.
"Ok! That's enough. We're getting sidetracked. We need to start this meeting." Jason clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.
He gave Percy a meaningful look; one which said to 'take it from here.' So Percy did.
"Um, well, Annabeth and I wanted to talk to you guys about what's been going on. We need to come to an agreement on what we are allowed to say and do with the Avengers. I don't think we should show them the full extent of our powers because it seemed like those spies were looking for a reason to lock us up," he started, "And I'm not particularly fond of being put in a cell. How about you?"
"Yeah. And we need to figure out a way to deal with the bombings without them figuring us out. The mortals seemed pretty Hades-bent on releasing the big secret, and that never bodes well for people like us. I know that we need their help, but I don't trust them." Annabeth said.
"We can just say we were born with the powers, and have no idea why. I mean, it's technically true," Jason offered.
The others all nodded in agreement.
"Ok, now what about the pattern? What is it?" Piper asked.
"All of the places are big parts of the Greek and Roman world. Brooklyn Bridge is near Manhattan, the home of the Gods, Portland: Mt. St. Helens, where Typon used to be held, LA: entrance to Hades, Long Island: Camp Half-blood, and San Francisco: Camp Jupiter," Annabeth answered.
"Woah," Jason whispered, shocked.
"Yeah, but that's not our biggest concern. We also need to figure out how to hide our identities from the world while we're fighting with the Avengers," Annabeth said.
Everyone else there hadn't even thought of that. It comes in real handy to have a daughter of Athena around sometimes. Ok, not sometimes, all the time. All of them would be really dead without her quick thinking and planning.
"Um, I could try to see if the Aphrodite cabin could cook something up?" Piper suggested, "But most of them are still getting used to fighting, so they won't really know what to make. They need help with the designs."
Leo shot up from where he had slumped down into the desk chair, "I can help! Well, the Hephaestus cabin can. We can help design it so it's battle-ready."
"Good. We'll need those soon, I think. I have a feeling that we're going to have a lead soon, so we need to be ready when it comes. This is just one quest, so there is no need for people to think we're some kind of superheroes," Annabeth said.
"Aw! But I already had a name picked out!" Leo exclaimed.
He looked like he was about to let them in on his superhero name, but Annabeth held up a hand with a glare that clearly said to not speak unless he wanted to lose some very important parts of him. That kept him quiet, for sure.
"Is that all?" Frank asked, towering over them all.
"For now, yes. Remember, say the absolute minimum and stick to twisting the truth. If you reveal any new information without the others knowing, call a meeting to let us know," Annabeth confirmed, nodding her head.
"Great, now I can go back to sleep," Percy said, pulling Annabeth back down with him.
The others filed out soon after that, already hearing Percy's soft snores as they left and returned to their respective rooms. Ok, so Jason and Piper stayed in the same room like Percy and Annabeth did, but nothing happened. It was just nice to be in the arms of someone who cares about you, you know?
Ω ♆ Ω
"Up and at 'em, kiddos! It's training day!" Tony gleefully exclaimed over the speakers that Percy was absolutely sure he did not see in his room.
Percy groaned when he saw what time it was: 6:00 AM. He knew he wasn't allowed to (and that it was wrong, of course), but he wanted to kill Tony so badly in that moment. It would be quick! Nobody would suffer!
But, alas, he had to actually work with the man-child. It might not come off like it, but Percy takes war very seriously, and this was starting to feel like a war. Or at least, it would become one if they didn't stop it soon. And to do that, they needed the Avengers, apparently.
That was the only reason that he followed Annabeth in getting up and ready for the day. He took a little longer than Annabeth, but at 6:30 AM, they were stepping out of his room. They saw that the others were slowly doing the same. They were all tired. There weren't any big dream incidents, but that doesn't mean that staying up until midnight and then waking up at six in the morning won't do something to you. Even Leo looked exhausted, with big puffy eyes from rubbing them in an attempt to wake himself up quicker. If Leo Valdez was tired, then you knew that it was too early for this.
Also, you have to remember that they'reteenagers. Teenagers aren't meant to be up super early- it's a scientific fact, Percy thinks. Annabeth once told him something about their melatonin not releasing until later at night, so they could stay up and sleep in later.
What? Percy pays attention to what she's saying sometimes.
"I hate Tony," Piper grumbled, practically falling asleep on Jason.
"You and us all, chica," Leo mumbled before letting out a huge yawn.
"What did he say was going on? Training?" Jason asked, looking over at Annabeth for answers because she seemed the most awake of the group.
"Yep. Training, whatever that entails. I don't know, so be prepared for anything. I really hope it has nothing to do with electronics, but knowing our luck, and how Tony has been so far, it will, so just try not to get too close," she answered.
Leo tiredly saluted her, "Yes, ma'm."
Hazel rolled her eyes, "Come on, Repair Boy."
She grabbed his arm and started leading the way towards the living room, which was their best guess at where the Avengers were.
As they were walking, they were interrupted by the disembodied voice of JARVIS, "Excuse me, but I was told to direct you to the training room, where the Avengers are currently assembled and waiting for you. Shall I proceed?"
All of the demigods were still really weirded-out by the AI, and there was no way it was ending soon. It's just a reminder that they were currently in a building basically composed entirely of technology, one of their greatest liabilities. Liabilities were a dangerous thing in their lives.
"Yes..." Percy answered hesitantly, unsure where to look.
"Then please follow the arrows projected on the ground, sir," JARVIS said.
Sure enough, there were large white arrows pointing them away from the living room, so they followed them. It was about a two minute walk to the elevators, where they were told to go to the 60th floor, which was apparently one whole training room by itself.
Ω ♆ Ω
"So let me get this straight, you guys want us to...play a video game?" Frank asked, gesturing to the giant room around them.
The Seven were quickly ushered by the Avengers into a big room with a bunch of white, padded tiles all around them as soon as they had reached the training floor. There was only a viewing window and an exit that disappeared when the door was closed. Then, Tony explained what they were going to be doing. None of them really understood it yet.
"No! I want you to fight the LMDs! The robots! They will simulate different levels of skill to evaluate your skills. Understand?" Tony punctuated each word, quickly losing any sense of patience he had started with.
"Yeah. We got it," Annabeth sighed.
Ok, she was sure she was the only one of them who realized that they were about to break one of the rules they established last night on the first day. They were about to fight robots. TECHNOLOGY.
This should go well, Annabeth thought.
Steve interrupted before Tony could make a snarky comment, "Good. We'll start with fighting separately and then together as a group. Afterwards, we'll see how you work with different weapons."
"Aye aye, Cap," Leo joked.
"Leo, focus. We're about to fight ROBOTS." Annabeth tried to get the son of Hephaestus to understand the severity of the situation. "You have a back-up plan, right?"
He could talk to machines. Robots were machines. Therefore, he should be able to get them out of this mess if anything went wrong.
He gave her a nod of understanding, and Annabeth settled back into her natural stance rather than her tense one. Well, she's always tensed for battle. At least in her natural one it's less obvious.
"Alright, who wants to go first?" Tony asked over the intercom.
"Uncle Leo will go first, right?" Percy joked, referencing to one of Leo's favorite nicknames for himself.
"Sure! I just need to know how much damage I'm allowed to do," Leo said, looking up at the Avengers.
Annabeth was shocked that he had even thought to ask that, and apparently the Avengers were, too.
"Um, just let go. There's nothing you can do to break this room. I designed it myself," Tony answered, still arrogant even through his confusion.
"Come on out, the rest of you," Natasha instructed.
Once the rest of the demigods had exited the room and stood next to the Avengers at the viewing window, Tony pressed a button on a screen that made a compartment in the walls of the room open up, revealing a row of floating LMDs.
"Now, I'm going to start you at Level 2, okay? It gets harder as you move up. The LMDs should stay the same form throughout every level, though. Ready?" Tony said.
Leo pulled his war hammer from his magical toolbelt and lit it and his arms on fire, "Ready."
Tony had to shake himself out of his shock before he pressed the start button, but when he did, every one of the mortal heroes had sat on the edge of their metaphorical seats, eager to see just how powerful these kids could be.
Plus, the kid had just pulled a giant war hammer from his normally-sized toolbelt, and then proceeded to light himself and the hammer on fire. They were bound to be curious after that display.
They knew the very basics of the young heroes' abilities, but most of that stuff was based on just what they had been told. Actual, visible proof is what they wanted.
All at once, the LMDs transformed into the Avengers minus the Hulk. Repeat, they changed into the Avengers. Leo had to fight a copy of the Avengers, alone.
Percy was freaking out inside. Sure, he trusted his friend, but Leo was a joker, and he tended to not understand how serious things were. In this case, he hoped that didn't happen.
"This should be interesting," Natasha remarked.
"No, this should be terrible. Tony, you never told me you were using this setting," Bruce said, rushing up to the other scientist, "He's just a kid."
"I think they've made it clear they aren't just kids, Jolly Green. It's fine. If they wanted to be treated like the rest of us, then they need to pass this test," Tony said.
Bruce looked like he wanted to say a lot more, but Jason stepped up to stop him, "He'll be fine, Dr. Banner. Leo may not look it, but he's powerful and he's smart. He can handle this."
Jason looked so sure of himself that it was enough to convince the doctor that it would be okay.
In truth, Jason had no idea how this program worked. There was a good chance that Leo did not, in fact, have this handled.
While this was being discussed, Leo had already started to fight the Iron Man LMD. He was currently alternating between swinging his hammer at it and firing balls of fire. The LMD had only been hit a couple of times because it kept maneuvering around the attacks by flying away.
It was getting tiresome, and Leo wanted it to be over with. So, he dropped his hammer and set a determined look on his face, glaring up at the robot.
The Seven were grinning, already figuring out what was happening, while the Avengers were just plain confused. What was the kid gonna do? Glare them to death?
Then, Leo started grinning and they knew it was all over.
He crouched down onto the ground and placed a hand on the floor, closing his eyes in concentration. The LMDs seemed to be as confused as their originals.
Three seconds passed before Leo's grin grew even more, and then he spoke a single word, "Stop."
And they did. Every single LMD lost their form and fell to the ground, limp and unmoving. Leo stood up, dusted his pants off, and turned to the viewing window to see his teammate's reactions.
They were priceless.
"That's how you do it," he said, "Am I done?"
Tony literally shook himself out of his stupor, "Yeah, sure. I need to reboot the LMDs."
When Leo came through the door, the rest of the demigods crowded him, patting him on the back and laughing at his dramatics.
"What was that?" Natasha demanded, breaking through the teens to tower over Leo's elf-like form.
Okay, maybe tower isn't the right word. She was taller than him, but not by much. Natasha was just very intimidating.
"Uh...fighting?" Leo tried.
Natasha's glare hardened, "You know that's not what I mean. What did you do to make the LMDs stop attacking?"
Leo glanced at Annabeth, who nodded in consent, "I talked to them."
"You did what?!" Tony exclaimed.
"I talked to them. They were pretty boring, to be honest, but I was able to shut them down," he answered.
Tony let out an incredulous laugh, "That's not possible! You can't just TALK to machines!"
"He can, and he did," Piper said, smiling proudly at her best friend.
"But–" Tony's voice died out.
"How come you never told us of this ability?" Natasha asked.
"You never asked," Percy answered simply, not liking her interrogatory tone at all.
The spy looked like she wanted to continue the conversation, but Clint whispered something in her ear and she stepped back with one last glare.
"Welp! That was fun! Who's next?" Tony clapped his hands.
Everyone turned to see that he had gotten the LMDs back online and back in the Avengers' form.
Piper sighed and started to walk to the door, "I guess I'll go next."
Before she could enter, Steve asked, "What weapon are you going to use? Your powers won't work on the robots."
Piper smirked at him over her shoulder before pulling Katoptris from its sheath on her thigh. Apparently, the Avengers had yet to fully break through the Mist, and they could not see her having that strapped there this entire time. But when she pulled it out, they seemed to finally be able to see it for what it truly was. It makes you wonder what they thought was there before. A ruler, maybe?
"I've got this," she stated before slipping into the training room.
Ω ♆ Ω
It was obvious Piper had been taking more lessons on dagger-fighting with Annabeth. As soon as the first person attacked, she was slashing and stabbing like crazy. Her lithe form was swisting out of the way of punches from Steve's copy, while Clint's arrows were shooting at her from behind.
Tony had clearly upped the level of difficulty after seeing what Leo could do.
Piper ducked under one of the arrows, and then shot back up to land a finishing blow to the center of LMD-Steve's chest. Then, she ripped Katoptris out of the robot and turned to throw it at Clint's copy, which just barely managed to avoid getting stabbed.
She was running on pure adrenaline now. It was best to imagine these opponents as monsters. Sure, when they actually fought humans, they would need to not kill, but these were just robots.
Cilnt's robot shot it's last arrow, and it exploded right before her face, stunning her into stillness. In that couple of seconds it took for her to recenter herself, Natasha's copy jumped onto her back for a chokehold. Piper struggled, but the LMD had been designed to know all of Natasha's known skills, and it was working. The Iron Man LMD landed and shot a stunning shot at her chest: the final straw for Piper to finally surrender.
She knew they wouldn't kill her, but she was not in the mood to be knocked-out. It left you with a massive headache.
So she tapped out.
"Ok ok, I'm done. I'm done," She panted as she was released, rubbing her neck.
Piper was not happy about having to surrender, but it seemed like the Avengers had been thoroughly impressed with her skill with such a small weapon.
"I'll do next," Annabeth declared, high-fiving Piper on her way out.
"Good luck," Piper said.
"Don't need it," Annabeth responded, pulling out her drakon-bone sword.
Out in the control room, Tony said, "Is that a bone?!"
"It's whatever you want it to be," Hazel grinned, manipulating the Mist just a bit.
"You scare me sometimes, Miss Metal Detector," Leo muttered, glancing at Annabeth's sword, which had shifted into a machete.
He wasn't sure whether to be impressed by Hazel's skill, or weirded-out by Tony's brain.
"Make sure to move to difficulty up a bit," Percy told Tony, "She'll be insulted otherwise."
The billionaire seemed to be getting used to the teens' weird ways because he didn't even flinch when he heard that, and instead moved to comply.
"And...here we go," Tony said over the intercom, "Good luck, Annie."
"My name is Annabeth!" she shouted before going into the fight.
In this level, every single one of them attacked at once. Annabeth back-bended under Steve's copy's punch, and then kicked up into LMD-Natasha's face. After, she turned and sliced the Iron Man armor on the side, just under the armpit. She had picked that as a point of weakness before she had even stepped into the building.
"She's good," Natasha relented, watching as the daughter of Athena thrusted her sword into Steve's robot foot.
Seeing that Clint's LMD copy was not going to get any closer to her, Annabeth pulled out a hidden dagger and threw it in a perfect line to hit it in the center of its forehead. Then, she turned and blocked a punch from Natasha's robot, who had recovered from the face-hit. The spy copy used the Iron Man LMD to jump up and wrap her legs around Annabeth's neck, trying to do a scissor hold, which failed because Annabeth rolled forward, slamming Natasha's head into the ground. The left a big enough dent that the LMD wasn't getting back up.
That only left Iron Man to deal with.
She settled into a fighting stance, but didn't attack, choosing to wait for her opponent to make the first blow.
Percy was grinning. This was what they needed: a good way to blow off steam without it possibly ending with one of them dead.
"What is she waiting for?" Steve asked.
"She's playing with it. It's fun for her," Jason answered, "It's Annabeth."
Finally, the robot got impatient and attacked. It sent a stun blast at her, which Annabeth quickly avoided. After, she ran up to the wall, kicked off of it, and jumped up to drag the Iron Man LMD down to the ground, where she sat down on it and landed a few punches. But she quickly realized punching wasn't doing much good.
"Judo flip! Do the judo flip!" Leo exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement.
When it wasn't him being the one attacked by Annabeth, it was super entertaining.
Annabeth sighed, but a smile was pulling at the edges of her lips. She hauled Iron Man up, who was still recovering from being slammed down to the ground, and got a good hold on it's arm. Then, she flipped it over her shoulder with an ease that only came from years of experience.
With a huge smile on her lips, and a last glance at her carnage, Annabeth walked back out to the control room.
"How was that for a kid?" She asked Natasha.
"Not bad," she got for an answer.
Ω ♆ Ω
Jason, Hazel, and Frank's individual tests went-by pretty quickly. Jason electrocuted all of the robots, rendering them immobile.
After that, and with another new batch of LMDs, Hazel used her Spatha to slice and cut through the robots. In the end, it proved too hard for her to do it with just a sword, so she pulled a chunk of the wall out and smashed it against the LMDs until they were in many different pieces.
Frank ended up having to forfeit, but not before getting every single Avengers copy but Steve down. Steve ended up having him in a chokehold that was just too difficult to get out of. And Frank had already transformed into many animals, so he wasn't sure if he could've changed back if he had transformed again.
If it wasn't obvious, Percy was avoiding doing his turn. He was trying to stay in the corner, and out of the notice of any of the adults. However, that wasn't possible with two spies in the room. They notice everything.
"Percy? Your turn," Natasha said.
So much for that plan.
Percy hesitated, "Um...about that, I don't think I should go."
Natasha raised her eyebrows in mock-surprise, but it was actually Steve who spoke, "You have to go, son. In order to work well together, we need to know each other's strengths and weaknesses. This will never work without you doing this."
"Plus, we promise it's completely safe," Bruce added in.
Percy sighed, admitting that he wasn't going to be able to worm his way out of this one. Instead of fighting, he turned to whisper to Annabeth, "Don't let me get out of control."
Annabeth gave him a sad look, "Percy, I know you have control. I trust you. You just need to trust yourself. You would never hurt us. I know that for certain."
The Avengers were watching this interaction like hawks, but the other demigods were averting their attention. This happened sometimes, Percy and Annabeth going into their own world that only they could understand, and it was best to just let them be. Plus, privacy is a real thing people. The moment seemed almost too intimate for them to interrupt.
Percy still seemed to be having trouble believing Annabeth's statements, but he went into the training room without another protest. His shoulders were sagging in defeat, and he seemed to be folding in on himself. He was never one for attention, but that was a bit much in Leo's mind.
However, Leo and the rest of the Seven didn't have a full grasp on just how uncomfortable Percy as with using his powers now. They didn't know what happened in "that place."
"Are you ready, Percy?" Tony asked, readying the LMDs again.
"Yeah, I guess," Percy answered.
Annabeth was rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, "Just breathe, Perce," she whispered under her breath, "You can do this."
She had to put on a brave face for her boyfriend, but she truly was terrified of Percy's potential. She had seen it first-hand in their trip underground, and it was nothing to be underestimated. The Avengers didn't know what powers they were playing with here. She only hoped that her insistent trust she was putting in Percy was going to amount to truth.
"We'll start you on Level 5? Based on what your friends can do, I think this will be a good start," Steve asked.
"Sure," Percy responded, bringing Riptide from his pocket.
"What's he going to do with a pen?" Bruce whispered to Clint.
The Seven all smiled at each other. Little did the mortals know, that pen was definitely not just a pen. It was always amusing when people saw what Riptide truly was for the first time.
"Alright. Here we go," Tony said, starting the simulation.
Percy closed his eyes, inhaled, exhaled, and popped the cap off of his pen. Opening his eyes, you could tell something had shifted in him. He was in his natural element now, and nobody could stop him from achieving his goal.
That goal just so happened to be mutilating some billionaire's robots.
"Let's have some fun," Percy said, charging the first LMD.
He was a flurry of motion. His fighting style was a mix from Greek, Roman, and modern martial arts that he had learned from Annabeth. He'd kick one adversary just to turn and thrust his sword into another one trying to attack him from behind.
"He's amazing," Bruce said in wonder, mesmerized by Percy's skill.
The son of Poseidon was relying only on his hand-to-hand and swordsmanship skills, rather than his powers, but that barely slowed him down. If the mortals wanted a display of his competence, then he would give them one.
Annabeth had a proud smile on her face as she watched Percy judo flip Natasha's robot over his shoulder and slammed it hard enough to the ground that it "died," ending his fight.
That had gone well, considering Percy's worries.
However, he knew better than to let his guard down just yet. As all demigods know, life never gives any breaks. That, and the Fates are cruel.
Ω ♆ Ω
"Ok, guys. Let's take a lunch break, and then we'll do some more training, but this time, with only abilities," Steve said.
Percy had put his sword away, and was not standing in the viewing room with the rest of the heroes, mortal and demigod alike. All of the teens looked and felt exhausted, so it was a given to take a break.
"Got it, boss," Leo saluted, turning and exiting the room, heading no doubt in the direction of the kitchen.
"I guess that means we're leaving," Percy laughed. A real, genuine laugh.
It made Annabeth smile larger than she had in a long time. Improvement is always good.
Soon, everyone was gathered around the kitchen and living room area. Percy and Leo were scavenging for food while the Avengers and the rest of the Seven talked. So far, the hunt was not going as planned.
"Tony! Are you seriously telling me you're a billionaire, and you can't afford some decent Cheerios?!" Percy yelled.
"Yeah! Who goes grocery shopping around here?" Leo exclaimed, holding up the near-empty jug of milk.
The Avengers all looked at each other in confusion, "Who DOES go grocery shopping?" Bruce asked.
"Pepper, sometimes, I think. She must've been busy this week," Tony answered, "We can just order some Chinese or something for now."
"That should work, but if you're going to house these boys," Annabeth pointed to Percy, Leo, Jason, and Frank, "You're going to need a lot more food around at all times. Their appetites could rival that of an elephant."
Hazel let out a tiny laugh, realizing Annabeth's little pun about Frank. She received a small smirk in response.
"Teenagers," Tony muttered, rolling his eyes, "Always hungry."
"Now wait a second, Tony, I remember seeing you eat an entire large pizza by yourself just a couple weeks ago," Natasha remarked, smirking at her teammate.
Tony only glared in response, and then he told JARVIS to order lunch.
"Well, while we're waiting, I'll explain what our next exercise is," Steve said, "Basically, we're going to see and document your powers, but in a more controlled environment. You won't be fighting anything, but this will be more focused on precision than quantity. We need to know your full capabilities so that we know where to put you in a fight. Is that okay?"
He was asking their permission as more of a courtesy than an actual question, obviously, but the demigods still nodded their heads in confirmation. It wasn't like they couldn't leave at any time if things ever got too out-of-control.
Or at least, that's what they told themselves. In all honesty, nobody trusted each other yet. They could be shot down by the Avengers if they tried to run away, for all they knew, and that's what the scariest thing was. Neither group really KNEW the other group's intentions, only what they had told each other.
Everyone was walking on thin ice, whether it was known to them or not.

June 15th, 1987
Los Angeles, California
"Are you nervous about leaving?" asked Sammi, right by Nikki's side with his arm loosely around her. The two sat at Nikki's house's front steps as the sun finished rising for a new day. It was a surprise to Sammi having Nikki wake her up so early to be told a mechanic was on his way. But there was the professional, examining the open hood of the old impala. Nikki kissed Sammi on her temple, hiding part of his face in her disheveled bedhead. Sammi wiped away the smudged black eyeliner she slept in that transferred to her under eyes.
"Why would I be nervous about leaving? It's a tour like always," muttered Nikki, scrunching his brows together.
"No, it's not. You hate your singer, and you're trying to stay clean. You're not nervous by any measure?" asked Sammi.
Nikki cleared his throat and shifted as best as he could, running his hand through Sammi's scalp. "Vince and I have always been at each other's throats way before we tossed you in the middle. I'm not going to let him ruin my time on the road. If Vince wants to act like a spoiled princess, then that's his problem,"
"And what about 'that' drug?"
"Like I said last night, I kicked everyone who could bring it around me out. I'll be fine. You don't have to worry your pretty little head," smiled Nikki, reaching over and shortly kissing Sammi on the lips.
"My pretty little head will always worry about you, especially with my brother right by your side," said Sammi, running her hand over Nikki's morning stubble.
"Nice to know you'll always worry," teased Nikki, pinching Sammi's cheek. "How about I offer you a deal you can't refuse? One to show how great I'm doing,"
Sammi scrunched her brows together, giving an inch of space between her and Nikki. "What kind of deal?"
"We're going to be in Japan for December on my birthday. We'll be playing for about a week of shows to end the year. You should come with us," said Nikki.
"Japan?" smiled Sammi, wrinkling her brows in surprise. "Are you sure about that?"
"Well, if you don't want to go to Japan, there's Europe next year. You have options, Princess. I just think Japan would be nice since then we'll finally have that vacation I promised," said Nikki, smirking.
Sammi sighed out, pursing out her lips as she thought about the idea. "I don't know, Nikki. We're barely even together right now. I still don't even know what this is,"
" This is us trying, and what about wanting to work it out? It's a week, almost two, in a different county! We can stay in Asia and hop over to a different country. That's perfect to work on it! It can be great,"
"I'll think about it. It's not until December anyway, so I have time," said Sammi.
"Fine. I can agree with that. Just expect me to bug you over in Oakland," said Nikki, hanging his arm around Sammi's shoulders. Before Nikki or Sammi could say another word to each other, the mechanic came up to the couple, reading off his clipboard. Nikki stood on his feet, clearing his throat and crossing his arms in front of his chest. Sammi looked up at the men, wrapping her arms around her legs. "So what was the problem?" asked Nikki.
"The battery was dead. When was the last time you thought about changing it before it died?" asked the mechanic, frowning as he looked up at Nikki. Nikki didn't answer, only looking down at Sammi. She merely shrugged her shoulder, making Nikki scuff.
"I'm going to guess it's been a long time. Batteries only last three years, five years max," said the mechanic.
"I know, I know. You leave a lady in charge of a car, and she forgets to take care of it," teased Nikki with a smirk, earning a kick from Sammi.
"I know how to take care of my car!" objected Sammi, frowning at Nikki, who only giggled at her anger. He perceived it as cute.
"How much for the battery?" Nikki pulled out his wallet, counting the bills he had. For once, Nikki had cash on him that wasn't meant to pay off a dealer.
"50 for the battery and 60 for the service," said the mechanic writing down Nikki's receipt. They exchanged the two different kinds of paper, Nikki adding in an extra 20 as a tip for the house call. This made the mechanic a happy man as he drove out of the California valley. Nikki sat back down next to Sammi, handing her the yellow paper receipt. Sammi pouted to herself, almost glaring at Nikki.
Nikki raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"I could've done it," mumbled Sammi.
Nikki inched closer to Sammi's face, getting her to wrinkle her brows. "You could just say thank you and be nice," Sammi rolled her eyes, playfully shoving Nikki's shoulder.
"Thank. You. Nikki. For. Paying. Do you want to hear anything else?" sarcastically asked Sammi.
"Yeah, that you're going to miss me when I leave," said Nikki, wrapping his arm around Sammi again.
"Of course I'm going to miss you. You might drive me crazy, but I still like having you around me," said Sammi with a pout, resting her head on Nikki's shoulder. "What time are you leaving tomorrow?"
"Late at night in our new fancy jet. It looks so sick, Sammi. All black with the Motley logo on the nose. Maybe you can take a ride on it when we go to Oakland. Since it's fast, you'll have the luxury of a short fun trip,"
"Let's cool it with the idea of trips for a while. We're not all back on good terms," smiled Sammi, kissing Nikki on the cheek. "I think I should get going. I don't want Em and Sabrina to send out the search dogs,"
Nikki sighed out. "I guess. Do they even know you came out here?" asked Nikki, pulling Sammi on the feet.
"Yep. Sabrina's been on my ass to talk to you," said Sammi as the two walked hand in hand to the impala.
"Damn, have I mentioned how I love your friends? I love your friends. Way better than the last two I met," teased Nikki, snaking his arms around Sammi's waist, slowly pushing her to rest against the car.
Sammi chuckled, shaking her head. "Yeah yeah, I get it. You can thank Sabrina and Emma whenever you want," Sammi said.
"I gladly will. I'm guessing they don't hate me after everything?" asked Nikki.
Sammi shook her head. "Sabrina's been a way better 'older' sister with the advice than Athena ever could. Emma being there to show the silver linings to everything when I vent. They do like you. They've always liked you, Nik,"
"That's nice to hear. Don't tell them this, but I would look forward to seeing them when we'd all hang out. I missed it. They are nice girls," chuckled Nikki. Sammi only smiled and engulfed Nikki in a tight, comforting hug, arms around his neck. Nikki cradled Sammi's head, taking in the moment of warmth the two had. "I'm going to miss you," muttered Nikki.
"Please stay safe out there,"
"I promise," said Nikki, finally letting go of Sammi. Sammi balanced on the tips of her toes, kissing one last time until her birthday. Nikki didn't think to make the kiss more than it was, remaining romantic. As the two parted, Nikki opened the car and smiled sadly as Sammi sat in. "Get home safe,"
"I will," said Sammi, flashing a smile before driving out of the grand driveway and into the neighborhood. Nikki kept his eyes on the impala as it moved away, sighing out when he was left alone. He was bored already but knew he couldn't go to old habits just because Sammi wasn't around.

Even though it was well into the morning, almost afternoon, Sammi slowly opened the apartment door to not bring attention to her. It didn't matter how hard Sammi tried to be sneaky; Emma was already in the living room watching tv. "Shit," mumbled Sammi.
Emma turned her head like an alerted fox, relieved to see Sammi after an almost full 24 hours finally. "Sabrina! Sammi's home!" yelled out Emma, jumping onto her feet. Sammi sighed out, closing and locking the door behind her before Emma pulled her further into the apartment. "Where have you been? Your mother and I have been worried sick," joked Emma, sitting Sammi next to her on the sofa. Sabrina casually walked into the living room, keeping a calm demeanor in comparison to Emma. She smirked when seeing Sammi's makeup smudged and hair unkempt, wanting to poke fun at her as Sabrina sat down next to Sammi.
"I'm guessing the talk with Nikki went great?" asked Sabrina.
"Really great by the looks of it. Nikki couldn't have lent you a hairbrush for this rat's nest?" asked Emma, trying to tame Sammi's hair by using her fingers as a comb. Sammi rolled her eyes, pushing away Emma's hand. "Was it nice 'reuniting' with Nik?" Emma smiled mischievously.
"Shut up, we didn't do anything," said Sammi, chuckling.
"That has to be the biggest lie ever, Sammi. You leave to speak with your ex that you're still madly obsessed with only to come back the next day," said Emma, Sabrina giggling along.
"My impala was stubborn, and the battery died! That's why I stayed over," defended Sammi.
"In the same bed with Nikki?" asked Sabrina, raising an eyebrow.
"Nikki's other cars weren't enough for you to drive back home?" asked Emma.
"Or he couldn't bring you back on his motorcycle?" added Sabrina.
"Nikki lives far away from you guys, and it was late. I didn't want to drive anymore. And yes, we were in the same bed, but we seriously didn't do anything. Last night was too much for the chance of having makeup sex," muttered Sammi, dropping her head back onto the sofa.
"Well, what happened then? Was it a screaming match, a puddle of tears, or what? What happened?" asked Emma, like an antsy child.
"To cut it short, I heard how hurt Nikki was after I left. I knew I shouldn't have done it, but now I really regret it. He apologized for his mess as well then we went out to eat to talk it out more. He talked about wanting to work things out when he comes back,"
"How was that too much for the chance at sex?" asked Sabrina, scrunching her brows together.
"Oh, there's more!" Said Sammi. "Veronica was waiting for us at Nikki's, only for her to tell me that Nikki was her fiance," Emma and Sabrina's eyes shot wide, jaws almost dropping to the floor. "Before you guys freak out, it's not a real engagement. Nikki kicked her out. Veronica asked when they were both high, and Nikki's dumbass said yes. Which made me mad since he did the same thing to me, but it was still very different," Sammi rambled in one breath to fix the damage. She didn't want the high of a good thing to go away.
"How did Nikki tell you it was different if he did the same thing in Vegas?" asked Emma.
Before Sammi answered, a small smile crept upon her face, looking away as she almost blushed. "Because he said he could see us married when he asked," muttered Sammi, glancing to see Emma and Sabrina's reactions. Emma covered her mouth in shock while Sabrina smiled bubbly. "But I'm not going to think much on that,"
"As long as you and Nikki are on good terms, then that's great for you two. I'm sure Veronica will get the hint eventually that Nikki doesn't want anything to do with her," said Sabrina.
"And if she doesn't, there's always restraining orders on ex bitches!" joked Emma with a smile. "You just need to be happy and not worry about anything anymore,"
"I'm happy you talked to Nikki, Sam," said Sabrina.
"Oh, and so is Nikki," smiled Sammi. "Don't tell him I said this, but Nikki missed the four of us hanging out,"
"Awe! Nikki does have a heart!" said Emma, making the other girls laugh altogether.

August 30th, 1987
San Francisco, California
With a sleepy yawn and tired eyes, Sammi leaned back against her chair, hours of studying started to take a toll on her. The sun had already gone down in the San Francisco Bay area, the nightlife beginning to emerge throughout the city. College wasn't holding back on its difficulty; tests and projects planned already in full swing. It was only one more year of this for the young student, where Sammi could finally leave San Francisco to go back home and be a full-time adult, even though her life was unlike the average adult. Right when Sammi was about to dive back into the pile of books, the handheld phone beside her rang loud.
"Hello?" answered Sammi, hiding her tired voice with a polite one.
"Hi, Princess," said Nikki, sounding relaxed wherever he was across the country. Hearing Nikki's voice made Sammi's tired demeanor subdued, smiling as she rested against the table.
"Nikki!" exclaimed Sammi.
Nikki chuckled with slight glee from Sammi's voice. "It's good to hear your voice, Sammi. Sorry I haven't been calling recently. The days are starting to blur together," said Nikki, rubbing his developing dark eyes.
"It's okay. I get how pretty busy it can be. Where are you right now?"
"Somewhere in Virginia that has almost nothing. So I'm in my hotel room. We have the whole floor, which is pretty cool. What are you up to?" asked Nikki.
"Studying until my eyes bleed or I pass out. Whichever one will make me stop first," yawned Sammi. "How is everything on the road? Your Rolling Stone issue makes everything sound so crazy," said Sammi, smirking to herself.
"Oh, you got the magazine? I'm honored," teased Nikki.
Sammi rolled her eyes. "Of course I would get it. It's not everyday someone can say their brother and…" Sammi hesitated for a moment. Nikki bit his lip in a nervous habit to see how Sammi would finish that statement. "Boyfriend is on the cover of Rolling Stone. My parents are thinking about framing it,"
"That's sweet. Thank you for getting it," uttered Nikki, smiling to himself in the privacy of his hotel room. He cleared his throat, taking a swing of the beer by his side. "The craziness is kind of on pause. Right now, I'm currently bored out of my mind in my room alone because no one wants to hang out with me," grumbled Nikki. Sammi couldn't help but burst into a laughing fit, hiding her face in the palm of her hand. Nikki sulked in his bed, wishing he could pinch Sammi to get her to stop. "Why are you laughing at me?"
"Because you just sounded so cute, Nikki," giggled Sammi again, finally calming herself down. "Why doesn't anyone want to hang out with you, sweetheart?"
"Everyone has a chick! Tommy has Heather visiting. Vince has Hailey, Hedi, whatever her name is visiting too. Mick keeps sneaking off with stupid Emi. Then the tour crew is hiding with someone in their rooms," complained Nikki.
"I'm sorry, but would it kill you to be nice to Mick? He really likes that girl," frowned Sammi.
"She's a backup singer that we hired! You're not supposed to date or hook up with people you hired for your tour. Tommy and Vince agree with me on this one!" said Nikki, in a firm voice.
"But you and Vince have hooked up with someone that was a tour employee,"
Nikki curled his lip. "Please point out when Vince or I hooked up with someone on tour, Ms. Sammi. I would love to know!"
"You do remember I was Doc's assistant, right?" smirked Sammi.
Nikki rolled his eyes. "Hey, that doesn't count! Vince and I were trying before Tommy even got you that job! If we met on that tour, I wouldn't have tried anything. Until we were back home and you got a new job," objected Nikki, earning a laugh from Sammi.
"We had sex when I was already hired for the tour, Mr. Sixx. And Doc didn't hire me again after getting with my ex," Sammi said as a rebuttal.
"Don't try to argue this one. It doesn't count! I hit it when you were still just Tommy's little sister. Who is now getting on my nerves," grumbled Nikki.
Sammi snickered. "Okay, okay, I'll stop. Still Nikki, can you please lay off Mick and let him enjoy a relationship? For me?" asked Sammi.
"Fine. I'll lay off, but when I see you, I'm proving you wrong. I don't like her for Mick," mumbled Nikki.
"Speaking of seeing each other, I'm sorry you're left alone tonight. I can fly in next weekend if you need me to. We don't have to wait until October. I have no problem-" offered Sammi.
"No. No. No. You need to focus on school to graduate and get the hell out of stupid San Francisco. One of us has bigger things to worry about than if I'm lonely," said Nikki.
"That doesn't make me feel less bad, especially when the guys who have their wives or girlfriends visiting," pouted Sammi.
"Well, they don't have an intelligent girl by their side. No offense to your sister-in-law" smirked Nikki. "October will get here in no time,"
Sammi scuffed with flattery, smiling. "Thank you. I do really miss you, though,"
"I miss you too, Princess but stop worrying about me. I'm a big boy," said Nikki.
"You know you could pull a prank on everyone if they're all on one floor together," suggested Sammi. Like a lightswitch, Nikki's relaxed feeling turned intrigued, wanting to listen even more to what his intelligent Sammi had to say. "I'm not great with pranks. That was Tommy's department, but I'm sure you could think of something on the fly. You're clever," continued Sammi.
Nikki nodded to himself, narrowing his eyes at the wall as his brain began to plan. "Damn, do I love your ideas," muttered Nikki.
"Of course you do," proudly said Sammi.
"Listen, I have to go, Princess, if I wanna pull a prank. I'll call you at the next city, I promise," said Nikki, readying to jump out of bed. "Love you. Sweet dreams," Nikki added before hanging up.
Sammi only stayed quiet in her seat, slowly hanging up her phone and placing it down. With a few blinks, a smile crept on Sammi's lips. "Love you too," uttered Sammi to herself. She shook her head to get out of the little daze and back to the sea of books.
September 28th, 1987
The phone ring was the first thing Sammi heard as she unlocked the door to her apartment, rushing in to answer. On its last round, Sammi caught the phone in time to see who it was.
"Hello?" said Sammi, dropping a stack of mail and backpack on the kitchen bar, leaning against it.
"Hey Sam," said Athena. "How've you been?"
"Uh, hey Athena, I'm doing good. I just got out of class," said Sammi with a surprise in her voice. "What's up?"
"Well, I was wondering if you've watched MTV today or talked to Nikki recently since he's been on the road?" asked Athena, Sammi catching the tone as if something was wrong.
"Nope, I haven't watched tv all day or spoken to Nikki for months," said Sammi, only telling half a lie. She still couldn't tell Athena every little detail about her and Nikki. That would just cause more judgment from her again.
"In that case, I should probably let you know that Nikki's engaged. To Veronica," sadly said Athena.
Sammi almost chuckled from this, knowing it wasn't the truth. "What? What do you mean Nikki's engaged?" asked Sammi, playing along to the not so shocking news.
"It's got announced in the morning, and it's all over MTV and magazines. I wanted to make sure you found out from me before anyone else," said Athena. Sammi scrunched up her brows deeply, glancing down at her pile of mail. Scattering the pile, Sammi pulled out the only magazine from the bunch, seeing how Athena was right. In big, bold yellow letters read out, 'Motley Crue Bassist Nikki Sixx engaged to Dancer Veronica Andrews .' Sammi only stared at the words and photo for an extended period until Athena pulled back into reality. "Sammi? You okay?"
"Um yeah. Yeah, I'm good. I just didn't think he would ever propose to anyone," uttered Sammi with a deep frown, flaring nostrils out. Sammi crumpled the magazine in her hands, ripping the cover almost completely. "Is there anything else you know, Athena?"
"I haven't been able to reach Tommy, so no. Are you sure you're okay?" asked Athena one more time.
"Yeah. Perfectly fine. I'll call you later, Athena. I'm pretty tired from my walk. Bye. Love you," said Sammi, hanging up on her sister. With a fast thumb, Sammi punched in the numbers to the only number to reach the guys. It only took a short ring to get on the line. "Hey Doc, it's Sammi,"
"Oh, hi, Sammi. I haven't heard from you in a while. What's going on?" asked Doc.
"Nothing really. I wanted to see if you could get Mick for me. I need to ask him about something, and I didn't know how to reach him exclusively," said Sammi, sitting on the wooden dining chair.
"Of course. Hold on a minute while I get him," said Doc, a turning silence from his end of the line. Sammi anxiously tapped her fingers on the dining table, her frown getting deeper.
"Sammi? Are you okay? What's wrong?" asked Mick, almost in an anxious tone himself.
"I'm fine, Mick. I just needed to talk to you about something. Is Nikki around you?" asked Sammi.
"No, I don't know where Nikki went. I haven't seen him or Tommy. What did you need to talk about?" asked Mick.
"Please be honest with me, Mick. Has Nikki been speaking to Veronica?" asked Sammi, swallowing a hard lump in her throat.
Mick let out a sigh, mumbling a curse word under his breath. "It's not what you're thinking, Sammi. I can promise you that,"
"Then what is it?! Because right now, I just had to have Athena tell me about Nikki's apparent engagement being all over the news when he told me it wasn't anything,"
"And he's right. They aren't engaged. But after her little visit in July, Nikki stopped giving her any attention. I guess it pissed her off enough to run to the press,"
"She was with Nikki?" asked Sammi.
"Nikki didn't know she was coming. Veronica was able to get into his room at a hotel we were staying at in Arizona. He was pissed, but she stayed there," Sammi closed her eyes tight, inhaling deeply. "They didn't hook up,"
"How do you know that?" Sammi's voice almost cracked.
"I roomed right next to Nikki that night, and I had my connecting door open the entire time. There wasn't any moaning, but I did get to hear them talking about heroin again. Something about freebasing?"
"You've got to be kidding me? Nikki's been getting high again?"
"I wanna say yes. Nikki will hide in his room if we're in hotels sometimes and won't come at all. And now he knows not to use needles anymore, I guess. I'm sorry to tell you this, Little girl,"
Sammi shook her head and rubbed her temple as she listened. "It's okay, Mick. I knew you'd tell me the truth. Thank you," muttered Sammi. "You can't tell Nikki we had this conversation,"
"Of course I won't. I will say, though, if he does hurt you again, I will smack him," said Mick.
Sammi chuckled dryly. "I appreciate that. Stay safe out there and don't go too crazy,"
"I won't. Later, little girl," said Mick. Sammi hung up the phone, dropping her head down on the table. Nothing was ever a comfortable boat ride with the Crue.

"Hi, it's Sammi. Please leave a message, and I'll get back to you," Sammi stared at her answering machine as she laid on the loveseat, a bottle of half-empty wine in one hand. "Hey-o sunshine, it's Nikki. I wanna talk. I'm sure you've seen MTV or something. Please, Sammi. I miss you. Call me back". The wine was Sammi's only response.
October 7th, 1987
Oakland, California
Sammi rested heavily against the red leather seats, watching passing city lights. The closer she reached the stadium, the more her anxious nerves ran through her body. Wiping away clammy hands on Sammi's black jeans, messing with the ends of Sammi's hair, nothing could calm the young woman down. It was considerate for the band to send a limo service for Sammi, but it didn't help with the anxiety. Sammi managed to keep a distance from Nikki without getting any form of questions from him. To Sammi, this was her form of validation. Validation of Nikki starting the disgusting habit that Sammi feared. As the limo slowed down, passing the colosseum, fans waited out in lines while paparazzi stood on the sideline. Sammi only let out a long sigh, waiting for the car to finally make a stop. It was a small surprise to Sammi when Doc would be the first familiar face, opening the passenger door for her.
"Hello Sammi, it's good to see you finally," said Doc with a smile.
"The feeling's mutual," said Sammi, stepping out of the limo, fixing any imperfections from her tied Motley tank she cut up. "How have you been? I'm hoping to hear something positive," Sammi asked Doc, the two walking through a dark alley to reach the infamous backstage.
Sammi heard a similar sigh come out of Doc, watching him dragging a hang down his face. "Personally, I'm alright. Professionally, I'm stressed beyond belief. It's unlike anything before from what's gotten into these boys,"
"Is it really that bad?" asked Sammi, halting under a dim streetlamp.
"I don't want you to get worried about them,"
"Doc, that's a little late for that. I'm always going to be worried about those four. Now, what's going on?" Sammi asked again, scrunching her brows together.
"To make a long explanation short, they're just wearing out. To the point I'm considering canceling Europe," said Doc, pressing his lips tightly together.
Sammi only shut her eyes, dropping her head back to groan out in annoyance. "So what am I walking into then? The last person I spoke to was Mick about Nikki," asked Sammi with a frown
"Vince's hand is in stitches. Nikki and Tommy are on benders. Mick doesn't care anymore. And there's a new band touring with us who think it's so cool, trying to match Motley. I'm sorry to tell you this, Sammi," said Doc, folding his arms against his chest.
"Whatever. Let's just get in there before I run back into the limo," mumbled Sammi, dragging her feet over to the backstage door. Doc gently rested his hand on Sammi's shoulder, showing a sign of reassurance. From the first steps of entering backstage, Sammi was hit with the familiar smell of cigarette smoke and almost sweat. The long curved hallways soon became louder when reaching the dressing room doors for both Motley Crue and the opening act. Sammi tossed her hair the other side, not wanting to hide away within it.
"Oh, look who it is!" exclaimed Tommy, arms wide open as he stood at the end of the hallway. Sammi matched the wide bright smile her brother had, running over to Tommy for a big hug. Tommy appeared sober to Sammi's eyes, a moment of letting her guard come down. He lifted Sammi in the air, twirling around in circles in complete happiness. "Happy birthday," said Tommy, setting Sammi back on her feet.
"And happy belated birthday to you," smiled Sammi. Before Sammi could say anything else, three men came behind Tommy, one with curly hair almost jumping on Tommy's back. Sammi stepped back from the bunch, turning her attention to see Doc had disappeared already. "Whoa," was all Sammi could say. The three men all perked their heads to Sammi, almost curious to see a new girl in front of them. The dark curly-haired man peeling himself off Tommy, straightening his shoulders. They were all different from the other in appearance, not mistaking one for the other.
"You guys know when the perfect timing is. I want to introduce to you three, my baby sister. Sammi, meet three of the Guns N' Roses guys!" explained Tommy.
"Hi," shyly said Sammi, waving shortly.
A redheaded man stepped in front of Tommy, smirking at Sammi. Sammi scrunched her brows in confusion to the redhead. "Hey, pretty thing, I'm Axl," said Axl. "I've heard about you, but I never thought you'd be this gorgeous," Sammi couldn't help but chuckle at Axl, smacking her hand over her mouth to stop. Axl looked shocked at Sammi, mouth ajar as Tommy and the other two chuckled. "Was it really that cheesy?"
"Axl dude, this is Sammi. As in also Sixx's girl," said the curly-haired man, smacking Axl playfully on the shoulder. "Hey, I'm Slash. It's cool to meet you finally," said Slash, extending out a hand.
Sammi wasn't shy anymore of accepting it, smiling at Slash. "I'm guessing Nikki talks about me?"
"Every time I ask why he keeps turning girls down, Blondie and I get a whole rant about you," said Slash, pulling the tallest man from the bunch, a shaggier blonde.
"Your brother also doesn't shut up about you and your other sister, but I got used to it," said the blonde, with a shy smile. "I'm Duff. It's your birthday, right?"
"Nice to meet you, Duff, and yeah, my birthday's tomorrow,"
"Happy birthday then!" said Duff in a gentle voice.
"Happy birthday," said Axl and Slash in unison.
"Thank you! And it's nice to meet you three finally. I've heard through the grapevine about you and your guys' band," said Sammi.
"I hope good things," said Duff jokingly, turning to Tommy.
"Well, I do know Slash might have partied too hard at Nikki's house," said Sammi, seeing Slash become a bit timid as Duff and Axl repressed their laughter.
"And unlike Nikki, I say great things about my friends, thank you very much!" said Tommy, putting his arm around Sammi. Tommy led Sammi to the nearest door, pushing it with all his force, opening up to a spacious dressing room that fit all of Motley. Axl, Slash, and Duff followed the Bass siblings' footsteps. "Guess who I just found!" yelled out Tommy in a singing voice. From the mirror vanity, Nikki jumped up from his seat almost like a prairie dog, instinctually knowing it was Sammi. Vince was unbothered to move from his spot on the long sofa, glancing over at Mick already on his feet.
"Sammi!" said Nikki, showing a bright smile that Sammi tried to replicate. He didn't seem to notice the thick facade, hugging his girlfriend lovingly with a kiss on the forehead. "Happy birthday," mumbled Nikki into Sammi's hair. Sammi melted into the hug, rubbing Nikki's back as insurance to him. "I was starting to get worried you were gonna flake out on us,"
"You know I wouldn't do that. Traffic was just hell on earth," lied Sammi, pulling away from Nikki. Sammi grazed Nikki's thin long sleeve shirt from the first impression, scrunching her brows at him. "You're not hot in this?" asked Sammi.
Nikki shook his head, cupping Sammi's cheek. "I'm fine," flashing a reassuring smile. Sammi only remained silent, stepping over to Mick. On a special occasion, the two gave each other a tight hug.
"Happy Birthday, Little Girl. We've missed you around here," said Mick, ruffling Sammi's hair with affection. Mick shoots a knowing look to Sammi, ready to have a conversation.
"I've missed you all too," sighed Sammi. She peeked over Mick's shoulder, spotting Vince sulk alone.
"Sixx, you were right about Sammi. She is pretty tiny," said Slash, snapping Sammi back to reality, shaking her head with his hand. The rest of the guys all chuckled with Slash, Sammi falling into the comfort of their shenanigans. "She makes Mick here look tall,"
"Okay, I get it," said Sammi, shoving Slash's hand away from her. "I'm short and small compared to all of you. Not all of us can be as tall as these three," Sammi gesturing to Duff, Nikki, and Tommy.
"Yo Vin, you're not gonna say hi to our guest," said Nikki over his shoulder, skillfully wrapping an arm around Sammi and pulling her into his side. Vince dragged his body off the sofa, shuffling his feet towards the small group. Sammi's eyes went straight to the cast on Vince's wrist, noting the discoloration around his fingers. Vince flashed a short smile to Sammi, folding his arms against his chest. Tommy would see the shit-eating smirk Axl had towards Vince, seeing how grumpy the singer was.
"Uh, the guys and I are gonna head over to our room. You four have fun with the girlie," snickered Axl, ushering Slash and Duff out with him.
"Hey, Sam,' said Vince.
"What the hell happened to your hand?" asked Sammi, her eyes only the cast.
"Ask your brother," accused Vince. Sammi wrinkled her brows to Tommy, seeing him roll his eyes.
"Dude, it wasn't Tommy's fault you had a temper tantrum," Nikki told off Vince, scowling at the singer.
"Again, what happened?" asked Sammi with assertiveness.
"Vince didn't like the fact that craft services put mayo instead of Miracle Whip for the condiments," said Mick, a monotone in his voice.
"So he threw it against the wall, and the glass bounced back, slicing open his hand," added Nikki, matching the monotone.
"And it's apparently my fault because I'm the one that put mayo on the tour rider," uttered Tommy, glaring at Vince. Vince curled his lip at Tommy, looking away from his band.
Sammi sighed out. "You guys do realize you have to put up with each other for two more months, right?"
"I don't care. I'm fucking done with these three after December," mumbled Vince, walking right past every, disappearing through the corridor. Nikki and Tommy both glared at each other, annoyed with the attitude of Vince. Before adding another word to the conversation, Tommy pulled Nikki by the shoulders, making him let go of Sammi. He whispered something in Nikki's ear, Sammi trying her hardest to listen but with no success.
"What are you two up to?" asked Sammi, raising an eyebrow at the Terror Twins.
"Nothing, babe," smiled Nikki. "T-Bone and I just need to get some things sorted out with GNR. We'll be right back," Nikki said, kissing Sammi on the cheek. Tommy flashed a quick smile to Sammi, the duo leaving the room as fast as they could. While this worried Sammi, it was the perfect chance for her and Mick to catch up. She closed the door for no one to listen, giving Mick a small repressed smile. The two sat down on the long black sofa, Sammi hugging a pillow to ease her nerves.
"Is there anything new you need to tell me?" asked Sammi, hesitancy in her voice.
Mick bit the inside of his cheek, remembering if anything has happened since they last spoke. "Besides Nikki hiding in that long sleeve, nothing. He hardly talks to me about anything unless it's busting my balls,"
"About Emerson?" asked Sammi, raising an eyebrow. Mick nodded. "I asked him to stop, Mick,"
"It isn't only Nikki. It's all three of them getting on my case about hooking up with Emi," groaned Mick. "They don't like her at all, but they don't even know her as I do,"
"Nikki said he doesn't think she's good for you, but if they still don't know her, then they're just assholes," comforted Sammi, gently squeezing Mick's shoulder. "I can try to talk to Tommy to knock it off,"
Mick scuffed with a small smile. "Thanks, Sammi. You can try, but I'm not going to hold my breath,"
"Doc told me how you guys are falling apart. Should I be worried?" asked Sammi. Mick didn't bother to respond, looking down at his feet and letting out a huff. Sammi sucked her front teeth, almost chuckling. "I'm going to take that as a yes," muttered Sammi under her breath, slouching further into the sofa.
Right as silence fell between the two, a loud shriek echoed in the hallway, Sammi and Mick shooting wide eyes at each other. Sammi sped over to the door, pulling it open to find the noise, Mick right behind her. It wasn't a crazy fan finding their way into the backstage area. Sammi laid her eyes on Veronica, hugging Nikki with a big smile and a giant floral bouquet of pink roses. Veronica showed everyone around the floors and her engagement ring, Tommy and Axl remaining silent. Tommy began biting on his nails, wanting to walk away. Sammi stood in the corridor, feeling her blood turn hot with anger to see the happy woman in front of her. Fortunately for Sammi, Veronica made no attention to her, almost giving the younger girl her back. Nikki didn't know what to do in his position, holding onto Veronica by the waist. When he glanced over his shoulder, Nikki frowned at Sammi, only for him to see the anger he caused Sammi. Sammi shook her head at Nikki, flipping him off without a care. She then stepped a few inches closer to the 'couple,' opening another dressing room to disappear in. Resting against the door, Sammi quickly realized who the dressing room belonged to.
"What was that screaming?" asked Duff, standing in the middle of the room, scrunching his brows together. Slash had the same expression, sipping his beer as he sat down on a smaller sofa.
"It was um," muttered Sammi, looking anywhere but Duff.
"You okay?" asked Slash. "Your cheeks are almost as red as your lipstick,"
"No, I'm not. The scream was Veronica… Nikki's fiance," said Sammi, walking over and dropping herself next to Slash. Slash and Duff exchanged confused looks at each other before responding to Sammi.
"I thought Nikki dumped that chick a while back ago? Who the hell let her back here?" asked Slash. Sammi shrugged her shoulders, sinking deeper into the sofa. Duff felt sorry for Sammi, passing her an open cold beer they had in an ice chest, earning him a smile. Duff sat down next to Sammi, sandwiching her between the boys.
"Clearly, that Veronica girl is crazy if she thinks she's going to marry Nikki. Especially if she's screaming for no reason," said Duff.
Sammi took a swing of the beer. "She screamed because Nikki got her flowers,"
"If the flowers were pink roses, they were meant for you. Nikki talked about you loving roses," said Slash, smiling sympathetically at Sammi.
"I figured that much. I don't care if Nikki got me flowers. The fact she's here ruins my mood. I had to hide in here so Veronica wouldn't see me,"
"You're going to hide away on your birthday in a smelly dressing room? Of a band you just met?" asked Slash, happy to earn a small smile from Sammi. "You're not staying in here, and besides, we have to get on stage in ten minutes,"
"We can sneak you past everyone. I'm tall enough to hide you completely just by standing behind you," suggested Duff, Slash nodding at the idea. Duff grabs Sammi's half-empty beer out of her hand, placing it on the floor. He hopped up on his feet, pulling Sammi up by her hands. "See, look in the mirror. I'll be behind you, and Slash can be in front," said Duff, grasping Sammi's shoulders as they faced one of the vanity mirrors. Sammi only playfully rolled her eyes to Duff.
Slash skipped over to the door, peeking his head out to check their surroundings. "Psycho bitch is gone. Actually, everyone is gone," said Slash. Duff guided Sammi in front of him, Slash staying near in front of her as they planned. The corridor was empty of Motley, only crew members walking up and down. The trio walked further until hitting closer to the stage.
"Hey guys!" said Duff to Axl and two other men Sammi hadn't met.
"We have a guest watching us from the sides," added Slash, stepping aside for the rest of Guns N' Roses to meet Sammi. "The quiet dude in black is Izzy, and that's Steven with the drumsticks," Slash told Sammi.
"Oh, wait! We know you!" exclaimed Steven, pointing his drumstick at Sammi with a goofy grin. "Your Tommy's little sister! Awesome to meet you!"
"It's nice to meet you all too. I thought I'd leave Motley for a bit to check out your band live," lied Sammi, Duff squeezing Sammi's shoulders before reaching out for his bass.
"Well, aren't you the sweetest," teased Axl, pinching Sammi's check as he inserted his earpiece for the night. Sammi perched herself upon a rolling storage crate with the perfect view of everyone on stage, legs dangling. She gave all five of the guys a thumbs up before they all ran out to begin their set. For a new up and coming band, the crowd of Oakland loved the feeling GNR showed from performing. Sammi herself found their music enjoyable, tapping her hands on the crate to the beat of Steven's drums. After twenty minutes of the Guns' set, Sammi felt a hand grip onto her forearm, tugging her in their direction. Sammi jumped off the crate with a scowl, pulling away to see Nikki was the culprit. Nikki bit his lip, lowering himself closer to Sammi's ear.
"Can we talk please," whispered Nikki. Sammi kept her scowl, walking past Nikki into the corridor, away from the loud music. Sammi folded her arms against her chest, back flat against the brick wall with a glare. Nikki shoved his hand in his jean pockets, head hanging low before speaking. "I'm sorry about Veronica. I swear I didn't know she was going to come. I don't even know who let her in here. You have to believe, Sammi," said Nikki, cupping Sammi's cheeks. By instinct, Sammi pushed Nikki away from her with all her focus, Nikki stumbling on his feet.
"Do not try to kiss me right now. Not when I look like the other woman in front of everyone," frowned Sammi.
"But you're not! She's a psycho that keeps telling people we're together!" explained Nikki with a sad frown. "I wanted to settle this last week after she ran her mouth to the press. Veronica only did it because I cut her off,"
"No, you didn't," uttered Sammi. "I know she visited you in Arizona. Mick told me everything. If you told her things were over, she wouldn't be taking my flowers as hers,"
"Mick doesn't know shit. We do anything. I kicked her out that night,"
"And if I go to the dressing room right now, you kicked her out already?" asked Sammi, inching closer to Nikki's face with a scowl. Nikki only looked away from Sammi, trying to calm his breathing.
"She's leaving as soon as I can get her to leave," whispered Nikki.
"All you have to do is kick her to the curb. You're just making this harder for yourself," said Sammi, walking away from Nikki. She let out a deep exhale, finding her seat back on the storage crate. Nikki wanted to punch the wall in front of him but knew out of everyone. He needed his hands.
Sammi stayed hidden in the small corner of the side stage, not even moving after Guns finished their set. With sweat all on his face, Duff walked closer to Sammi. "You okay?" asked Duff, wiping his face with a hand towel. Sammi nodded, remaining silent. "If you want now, you can chill in our space while Motley plays. Stay clear of the psycho,"
Sammi gave Duff a half-hearted smile. "Thanks, but Nikki said he's kicking her out already. I'll stay here to watch him,"
Duff shrugged his shoulder. "Whatever floats your boat, girly. Don't be a stranger,"
"I won't," muttered Sammi, watching the guys retreat into their dressing room. Sammi hung her head low, playing with her boots' laces as she waited for the boys.
*
Right as Motley was done with their set, Sammi cautioned her way down the corridor, watching out for Veronica to pop out of nowhere again. The afterparty had begun, everyone walking in and out of different places to get their fix of booze or coke. When Sammi peeked her head into the boys' spacious dressing room, it was like a punch in the gut to see Veronica still in the building. She continued showing off every groupie her engagement ring, boosting her ego to see girls jealous. Tommy was already passed out on the sofa throughout the party, very much unlike him after a show. This made Sammi worried for a moment before realizing Tommy was a grown-up. This is what he chose to do tonight. Mick was nowhere to be seen for Sammi, most likely with his girlfriend. In the corner, Vince stayed making out with a girl that wasn't his girlfriend back home, Sammi only rolling her eyes. She walked further down the corridor, halting when hearing Nikki speak to someone. Sammi looked into another hallway, catching Nikki exchange money for a crinkled paper bag. Nikki's back faced Sammi, giving her the chance to go unnoticed. In Sammi's gut, she knew it was more heroin Nikki bought. Sammi only sped away to the nearest exited door, in desperate need of fresh air.
To Sammi's surprise, Duff was outside as well, sitting down while blowing smoke into the air. "Hey, didn't think you'd be out here," said Sammi, sitting beside Duff. "Parties aren't your thing?"
Duff blew out more smoke into the air before answering. "No, I like them. It's just your dudes are pretty scary to party with," chuckled Duff. "I've already gotten tired of doing it after every show,"
"Yeah, I get what you mean. I was exhausted of it when I toured with them one time,"
"Doesn't also help. I'm not really a drug kind of guy," added Duff.
Sammi tilted her head and raised an eyebrow. "Really? You don't do coke with your band?"
"Once in a blue moon, I'll snort a line, but I'm more of a drinker. Slash is the one who won't say no to whatever is offered to him,"
Sammi scuffed. "He does a party with Nikki back in L.A. It would be surprising if it were his idea to be Motley's opening act," Duff nodded along, continuing to smoke his cigarette. Duff was almost entirely sober compared to every other man around Sammi, making her feel comfortable in wanting to question him. Maybe Duff could be what Sammi needed. "If I asked you something, would you be honest?"
Duff scrunched his eyebrows at Sammi, flicking his cigarette bud away from them. "Ask me what exactly?"
Sammi inhaled deeply, preparing for whatever could happen. "What do you know about Nikki and him doing more than just coke?"
Duff sighed out, dropping his head against the cold concrete wall behind them, staring out above him. "Listen, Sammi, I'm going to tell you everything I know because I think you're a lovely girl, so just be prepared," Sammi nodded, biting her nails. "From what Slash has told me, Nikki's been on heroin since August. He'll shoot up with Slash or smoke it or however they do it,"
Sammi let out a dry chuckle, shaking her head as she looked away from Duff. "And where is everyone else when they get high?" asked Sammi.
"You mean where's Motley?" Sammi nodded, tears starting to well up in her eyes. "Tommy's with them… trying it,"
"Fuck!" yelled out Sammi. "Tommy's shooting up?" pleaded Sammi.
"Not exactly, but Slash has told me Tommy's tried heroin as well. That's all I know from what Slash talks about when he goes and hangs out with Nikki alone. I'm sorry," said Duff. Sammi stared out into nothing, her mind running 100 mph. All of a sudden, she stood up and began stepping away from Duff. "Hey! Where are you going?" called out Duff, standing on his feet.
Sammi turned on her heels. "Tell anyone still conscious that I'm out of here," shouted Sammi, continuing to roam into the city.
*
After a short while of walking, Sammi could hear the footsteps of someone running behind her. She told herself to keep looking forward.
"Sammi!" called out Nikki. Sammi kept her eyes forward. "Sammi! Sammi, hold up!" Nikki called out again, finally getting close enough to grab Sammi's wrist. "Hey, where are you going? Slash told me you bounced,"
Sammi pulled away from Nikki, never looking him straight in the eye. "Home. I'm going home, Nikki," uttered Sammi, eyes on the sidewalk.
Nikki scrunched his brows and curled his lip. "What? Why?"
Sammi shook her head, finally looking at Nikki dead in the face. "Guess, Nikki. Guess as to why you think I want to get the hell out of here?"
"Listen, Veronica is already gone. Let's just get back and celebrate your birthday,"
"No!" shouted Sammi.
"Why not?"
"How do I know Veronica actually left? Huh? Your fucking fiance was showing off her ring to groupies,"
"She's not my fiance! I already told you!"
"No, you didn't! You lied! Like you always do! She's here and telling everyone you're engaged!"
"What? No, I didn't, come on. Let's just go back to the venue and keep arguing if you want. You can see she's fucking gone," said Nikki, grabbing Sammi again and pulling her towards him.
Sammi pushed Nikki away from her, scowling at him. "Oh fuck off, I'm done going anywhere with you. Just leave me alone!" said Sammi walking away.
"Sammi, what's bothering you? I know it's not just the shit with Veronica anymore," followed Nikki.
"Figure it out," mumbled Sammi.
Nikki rolled his eyes. "Sammi! Just blurt it out!"
"I know you're using it again!" shouted Sammi, halting to glare at Nikki. Nikki stopping in his tracks. I know you got your hands on heroin!"
"Sammi…"
"Admit it. After you told me you were off and finally wanted to stay off that shit!"
"It just happened," uttered Nikki, almost unable to look at Sammi.
"You've been saying that for a long time, Nikki. You getting high never just happens!"
"I'm trying not to make it bad again. You have to believe me,"
Sammi shook her head. "Why should I? You're just spewing anything you want me to hear,"
"No, I am not! I'm serious!"
"No, you're not. It never just happens. It's never been something that just happens! I just saw you fucking buy heroin almost right in front of me!"
"It was something else," lied Nikki.
"Really? I know what heroin looks like. I've had to flush down the toilet before, remember?" spat Sammi. "You know, I had to have a stranger tell me the truth! Out of everyone here,"
"Who? Who told you?"
"Duff. Duff told me how you like to help Tommy and Slash try some. My own brother,"
"Can you please cut me some slack? I've promised everyone that I will go to rehab and work it out as soon as this tour is over. I'm only having one last hit with junk,"
"You really think I'm going to believe that?
"Yes!"
"Why?"
"Because you care about me. Why should you not believe me?"
"Well, let's see? You lie. All the goddamn time, you've been lying! Time after time, for the past four years since knowing you, you've lied to me. You've never given a shit about anyone but yourself. You only care about drugs, and I'm the idiot for putting up with it!"
"That's not true. You know I care about you. You're the only person I still give a shit about,"
"No, I don't, Nikki. You don't care about me anymore. You haven't a single shit about for two years or however long we've been doing this. This is why I wanted to stay away! From this!"
"You still feel that way? You still want to be far away from me?" asked Nikki, a sting in his heart.
"Yes. Yes, I do. And I should've kept it that way. I should've never gone to talk to you. Only to have you put fake hope in my head that we can be together,"
"You can't be mad at me for the drugs. Look at everyone around us. We all do it! You've even done it!" shouted Nikki.
"Because of you!"
"It wasn't because of me," Nikki shook his head.
"Yeah. Yeah, it freaking was. You've given EVERYONE drugs! And take some into that dark corner you love to hide,"
Nikki couldn't look at Sammi. He knew she was right in her arguments. "Sammi, let's just go back inside and talk,"
"No. And another thing, Tommy and Vince never even knew where to find hard drugs before you. They didn't need you mumbling in their ears. They were great before without you. Everyone was great without you!"
"Please don't say that," whispered Nikki, tightening his fists by his side.
"Why? Because you know it's true?" asked Sammi with sarcasm.
"Sammi, please," Nikki begged.
Sammi stared at Nikki with a coldness like never before. "Let me add another person to the list. You are a selfish person who can't even see that your friend is in bad shape health-wise. Do you even know how bad you treat Mick? I bet he'd be living a nice comfortable life if he never met you either. But instead, he just became a punching bag for your sad, pathetic life,"
"You don't mean it. Please tell me you don't mean it,"
Sammi cocked a smile that was never pleasant. "I do. Everyone would be so much better off if none of us met Nikki Sixx. I wish Tommy never met you. I wish I never got introduced to you. Because then I wouldn't have to keep the fantasy that you and I can ever be together. So how about you do one last favor and leave me the fuck alone? I'm done with your shit, and I don't care how many times I have to repeat it to believe it," fumed Sammi with venom, ready to keep walking away.
Nikki closed his eyes, feeling every word like a punch in the face. "Sam," muttered Nikki.
"If you want to go kill yourself off heroin, be my guest. I don't give a shit if you do. You're bound to do it anyway," Sammi added, finally walking away from Nikki. As she stepped further away from Nikki, Nikki wanted to run after her but only stayed frozen.
"Sammi!" Nikki yelled out. Sammi ignored him. "Please! Sammi!" Nikki yelled out again.
"What?!" answered Sammi, scowling at Nikki as she turned to him.
Nikki stepped closer to Sammi, still managing to keep a distance. "I… I love you," uttered Nikki, feeling his head spinning.
Sammi pressed her lips tightly, feeling tears almost spilling. "Don't. Do not do that,"
"Please, Sammi. I love you. I'm begging-"
"No!" yelled out Sammi, tears streaming down her face. "Forget it! Forget me! Forget us! Forget we were ever together. You and I never happened!"
"Princess. I'm begging you, please don't cut me out like this. Not again," said Nikki, almost able to touch Sammi.
Sammi remained silent, staring Nikki down. If there was one way to get to leave her alone, she knew how. "Go. Away. Frankie," said Sammi.
That was it. That was the final punch in the face for Nikki. Nikki froze from the sound of that name, never thinking to hear it from the one person he cared about. Sammi didn't need to say anything else, finally walking away from Nikki for good. Nikki could only watch Sammi disappear into the Oakland streets, feeling the wind send chills down his spine. A shaky breath was let out by Nikki, a tear rolling down his face. Nikki rubbed his eyes viciously, dragging his hands down his face. The only thing Nikki was able to do was to turn around and walk back alone to the venue. The other thing Nikki was able to do was to hide from everyone around him. Not caring when hearing people decided to speak to him.

I was wondering if you'd be interested in a prompt I've been thinking about. (So buck isn't a firefighter never was, but eddie is and he gets excepted to 118 at the same time he does in the show. And over little conversions the firefam has with eddie they release that he is married to a guy named buck and has a disabled kid). Bonus points for British buck because I live like two blocks away from were oliver stark grow up, my older sister went to school with him
Thanks for this prompt! It was really cute and tbh I had a lot of fun writing it! So basically, in this fic buck never joined the 118 and tommy is still on the team. Hope you enjoy it!
Feel free to send me more prompts you guys :) I love writing these
5 times eddie mentioned buck and 1 time the team met him in person
[1]
The first time Eddie mentioned his husband was when he first met the team and Chimney caught a glimpse of the black band with a red line on his left hand.
“Hey, man, you married?” Chimney had asked, a curious look on his face.
Hen watched as a lovestruck smile spread across Eddie’s face and he nodded, voice proud as he responded, “Yeah. Going on seven years, now.”
“Wow. Pretty impressive.” Tommy let out a low whistle. “You’ll have to bring her around some time, man.”
“Uh, him. Actually.” Eddie corrected, a nervous yet defensive tone to his voice.
Hen felt a grin spread over her face as she clapped him on the shoulder. “Even better, then. My wife would love to meet the two of you.”
At that, Eddie’s entire stance visibly relaxed and his smile turned genuine. “He’d probably like that.” He perked up even more when Tommy asked if he had any pictures and wasted no time in whipping out his phone and fondly showing off a few pictures of their happy little family.
[2]
The second time Eddie mentioned his husband was when the earthquake hit. Hen had already gotten ahold of her wife and been reassured both her and Denny were safe in the house, just a little shaken up. Eddie had been staring at his phone while they sat in the ladder truck, eyebrows furrowed together in worry.
“Everything okay?” Hen asked, shouting to be heard above the roar of the engine and the sirens blaring through the air.
“Yeah.” Eddie glanced up briefly before staring back down at his phone. “Just trying to get through to my husband.”
“I’m sure he’s fine.” Hen reassured him. “The phone lines are probably just too busy for anyone to get through them.”
He gave her a small smile but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Where’s he supposed to be?” she asked, because some buildings in LA are more earthquake-resistant than others.
“At school with our son,” he said after a minute, his smile softening a little. “He’s a special education elementary school teacher.”
“The school buildings here in LA are the safest place your family could be,” Hen promised as the ladder truck came to an abrupt stop outside of a high-rise. “They remodeled all of them a couple years back. They’re practically indestructible.”
“Thanks, Hen.” Eddie gave her a small smile, looking a little less tense than he had moments before.
“Anytime, Eddie. You’re part of the team, now.” she gave him a cheeky grin before she hopped out of the truck to survey the damage done by the earthquake.
[3]
“Hey, Bobby, can I talk to you for a second?”
Bobby glanced up to see Eddie standing on the other side of the counter, looking a little nervous. “Sure kid,” he put the bowl of meat he had been working on for dinner to the side and wiped his hands off in the sink. “What do you need?”
“I know I’ve only been working here for a few months,” Eddie began, rubbing the back of his neck. “But I was wondering if I could take a few days off in a couple weeks.”
“Is everything okay?” Bobby asked with a small frown. It was a little unusual for Eddie to make this request—he hadn’t taken a single sick day since he started, much less ask for a day off.
“Yeah, no, everything’s great.” He smiled a little sheepishly. “It’s my husband and mine’s wedding anniversary coming up and I wanted to take him someplace special for the weekend. If you can’t give me the time off, I understand,” Eddie rushed to continue, that nervous look reappearing in his eyes. “I know I haven’t exactly been here long enough to—”
Bobby raised his hand, cutting Eddie off in the middle of his ramble. “Take the time off, Eddie,” he replied with a fond smile. His heart ached for a minute when he thought about his own wedding anniversary—how excited he always was to spend the day with his wife every year.
Eddie breathed a sigh of relief and gave Bobby a bright grin. “Thanks, Bobby. I really appreciate it.”
“No problem.” Bobby’s smile turned mischievous. “You can thank me by helping me get the rest of dinner ready for the crew.”
“Yes, sir.” Eddie laughed, rolling up the sleeves of his uniform and joining Bobby behind the kitchen counter.
[4]
“So, Hen, you and Karen are going to be— what?” Tommy asked one day, tossing a bite of popcorn into his mouth and grinning proudly when he caught it.
“We’re going to be Sally and Jack Skellington.” Hen informed them, a small smile on her face. “Denny is going to be the skelly-dog, Zero.”
“Chim and I are going baseball players.”
Chimney felt his cheeks flush hotly at the thought of the costumes Tommy had shown him the other day. He was never going to hear the end of it after the part, but, fuck, he had to admit they both looked hot in them.
“What about you, Eddie?” Tommy asked, craning his neck back to peer at Eddie sitting in the reading chair to his left. “What are you and your boo dressing up as?”
“Well, Christopher has been on a Pirates of the Caribbean kick recently,” Eddie admitted, a small smile on his face. “So we’re going as pirates. Buck is, as usual, going all out with this. He started seeing the costumes almost two months ago.”
“He’s sewing them?” Chimney asked curiously, a little impressed.
“Yeah.” Eddie’s gaze softened as he spoke. “He volunteers on the weekend at the children’s hospital to dress up as superheroes to cheer them up. He makes all his own costumes because he insists it’s cheaper for him to make them himself then buy it on the internet.”
Chimney let out a low whistle. “Damn, Eddie. Did you marry a Disney prince or something?”
Eddie let out a groan at that, a smile pulling at his lips. “Don’t say that around him—he’ll start getting ideas.”
[5]
Tommy loves Thanksgiving.
He loved other holidays as well (Christmas held a particularly special place in his heart) but at Thanksgiving, there was so much food.
“I’m telling you, man, stuffing is one of the best dishes.” Tommy insisted, twisting and turning to look at Chimney for back up.
“It’s good.” His boyfriend acknowledged though it lacked enthusiasm. “My favorite is the turkey, though.” he shot Tommy an apologetic look.
“That reminds me,” Bobby cut in before Tommy could reply. “You’re all invited to our home for Thanksgiving this year. Athena insisted and it would be nice to be with everyone outside of work.”
“Yes!” Tommy replied immediately. “We’ll be there. Athena makes the best stuffing…” he sighed, his mouth-watering slightly just at the thought of the sergeant’s cooking.
“You can count us in too, Cap.” Hen answered with a small smile.
“What about you, Eddie?” Bobby asked, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel as he finished washing up the dishes.
“I would love to, Bobby, but Buck and I are hosting my family for Thanksgiving,” he said apologetically. “Buck tends to go a little overboard on holidays. He didn’t have the best childhood growing up so holidays are always a little extravagant at our house.”
“How extravagant?” Chimney asked curiously, his curiosity only growing when Eddie’s smile turned sheepish and he ducked his head.
“Well, I have a lot of family, so we usually have to end up cooking at least two turkeys, not to mention the side dishes. My abuela usually comes over to help but Buck refuses to let me into the kitchen.” he rolled his eyes fondly. “He practically takes over our kitchen for the entire day.”
“Remind me to send you my mashed potatoes recipe,” Bobby told Eddie, a small smile on his face. “I guarantee it’ll make his life a lot easier if he follows that.”
“Thanks, Cap!” Eddie shared his smile. “Mashed potatoes are his favorite so I think he’ll enjoy it.”
“Okay, but, onto the more important question.” Tommy broke in, face serious. “Does he make stuffing?”

The first time Hen actually got to meet Eddie’s husband, Evan, or Buck, as they’ve been told he prefers to be called, it was at the annual Christmas party in the station. She’d been chatting with Karen about what color to paint the nursery when she spotted Eddie walking up the stairs with an, admittedly gorgeous, man at his side with an eye-catching birthmark on his left eye and a young boy on his shoulders.
“Eddie!” Hen greeted, smiling as he walked towards them in the kitchen and placed a casserole dish on the counter.
“Hey Hen, Karen.” He smiled, leaning forward and hugging Hen’s wife and placing a friendly kiss on her cheek. “You look radiant.”
Oh no, Hen thought to herself, watching as Karen blinked back tears and hugged Eddie tightly before she let him go. She was extremely emotional from the pregnancy and any time someone complimented her while she was pregnant she just about started bawling. It was as endearing as it was embarrassing.
“This is my husband, Evan, and our son, Christopher.” Eddie introduced them, a proud look in his eyes and a fond smile on his face.
“Hello. It’s lovely to finally meet you both.” Buck said, a friendly smile on his face.
Oh. OH.
If Hen wasn’t so gay she might’ve swooned.
“You’re British?” Karen asked, a note of surprise in her voice.
Buck’s smile turned shy. “I grew up in London—that’s where I met Eddie, when he was overseas during his first deployment.” he turned and looked at Eddie with a lovesick expression on his face. “We kept in touch and started dating when he was on his second deployment. Then I moved here to LA with him.”
“That’s so romantic.” Karen sniffled, leaning her head against Hen’s shoulder.
“Papa, cookies!” Christopher tapped on the side of Buck’s face, pointing to the decorated sugar cookies laying out on the table.
“Yeah, I see them, buddy.” Buck laughed, reaching up to grab Christopher and set him on the ground. “But you can’t have any cookies until after dinner, remember?” he crouched down and stage whispered into his ear, glancing up at Eddie. “But you and I can split one when your dad isn’t looking.”
Christopher nodded, giggling into his hand before Buck led them away, exaggeratedly checking to see if Eddie was looking before nabbing a cookie off the counter and scurrying away towards the couches where the rest of the team was gathered.
“He’s cute,” Hen told Eddie. “Like a puppy.”
Eddie’s reply was lovesick. “Yeah, he is, isn’t he?”
