Day 2: AU get me out of here - places to go when canon is complicated
It’s Day 2 for @roswellnewmexicocreate, time to celebrate those stories that I turn to when I can’t deal with canon, or when I don’t have the emotional energy to untangle all the emotions I have for what’s going on in canon. Alternative universes, the safe harbor for us. Below are a mix of rewrites of canon, remixes of canon, or out right not even set in Roswell- to fill every type distance you want from canon- from near to far.
and the howl of the desert carries me home by @christchex/ @michaels-blackhat (4,334) Alex runs into the desert to escape from his father with his guitar clutched to his chest. He plans to spend one last night playing before his father destroys it. Instead, he meets a cute boy with flowers in his curly hair and a lizard on his shoulder. He exchanges a song for a smile.
why i like it: I love everything about this story. Michael is totally a disney princess, and what a lovely way to save him from foster homes, but have him run away to the desert and use his alien powers to build his own little protective world. Looping in Nora’s plant powers like that, giving Michael a little animal friend, I love it all, but the show stealer is Alex Manes, playing music to coax the mystery boy out. It’s just incredibly soft.
***
Heartbeat series by @adiwriting (133,000 - in progress) During the lost decade, Alex gets Michael pregnant and Michael doesn't see or hear from him again for the next four and a half years. When Alex comes back to town, he discovers he has a daughter with Michael and they all have to figure out how to be a family.
why i like it: it has it all, installments with angst, installments with fluff, I can find whatever mood I am in by just pouring over this incredible series. I really don’t even like mpreg, but in RNM, with aliens it seems a little more probable to me and bless Britt, she goes light on the details but heavy on the kid aspect of it. I absolutely love Alex in this story, he’s richly characterized as a man who is trying hard while wandering unfamiliar territory like aliens, like being a dad, like being Michael’s boyfriend, and he doesn’t always get it right, but he’s loved regardless.
***
tonight we are young @skinsharpenedteeth (8,137) Alex and Michael ditch the Evans' New Years Eve party to find their own fun and Alex gets his New Years kiss...(the underage tag is because they're both 17 in this.)
why i like it: I’m a sucker for teen!Malex, especially stories that take place before the shed. I love this little AU where Alex is thinking about making a move, but hasn’t yet. They are both adorable nervous babies, this feels very much how a softer teen!Malex first time would go. Perfectly characterized here, you can just feel the hopeful vibes they have at 17. I like to believe nothing bad ever happens to them again.
***
you shift on a gear (it’s been a long year) by @backinmybodymp3 (28, 362) “Good morning,” Michael says. “What the hell did you do?” Alex asks, exasperated. (or: There were times, in some of the lower moments of the past however-many-days it’s been, where Michael had thought about what it might’ve been like to share this time loop with someone. He never imagined— well, he never imagined it’d be Alex.)
why i like it: I love time-loop stories! And this is just superb. The friendship dynamics of everyone involved, the Liz/Max wedding, Michael being a good brother, Michael trying so hard to keep this bullshit from dragging Alex in and then Alex being his usual reckless self when it comes to Michael, I absolutely dig this canon-divergent au. you can feel how much the author cares about everyone on the show in this story, and they really nail the Malex dynamic. This story came along just as season 3 did and it’s a true antidote to the malex drought on screen.
***
the library by @arielana (9,657)  Alex had stopped too far away to hear exactly what they were saying, but their voices did carry over to where he was standing. The guy’s drawl had a melody to it that was vaguely familiar, but much deeper than the voice it reminded Alex of. God, that and the hair really brought some memories back.  Just as Alex told himself to stop secretly staring like a creep and walk over there, he turned slightly so that Alex got a glimpse of the side of his face.  Fuck!  Fuck, fuck, fuck! Twelve years ago Alex left Roswell to join the Air Force, nursing a broken heart and promising to never return. When work brings him back to New Mexico he runs into someone he’d been sure he’d never see again.
why i like it: the first kiss in the UFO emporium was groundbreaking, but I have to admit, I love stories that explore the almost-happened, where Malex reconnect as adults without the shadow of Jesse’s attack. I love how sharp Alex is in this story, he has all these walls as an adult built from that first rejection, but then he’s so completely unprepared to reconnect with Michael again. The clownery in this story by both of them is perfect! I also totally love Forrest as a gay best friend for Alex, trying to wingman Alex, that cracked me up.
***
stellar light based life by @jocarthage (30,651) It’s not a memory if it’s something you see every day. It’s a trigger and it’s not one Alex wants to ever let go of.Alex saw Michael disappear into a blinding blue light, soft 17-year-old body pulled back into some kind of impossible vortex -- one hand, outstretched.
why i like it: another submission from 2020 RNM Big Bang, this story just wrecked me. I can’t even really put into words about how it hooked me and basically lives in my head now to the point I often mumble the first line to myself. Anyway, this AU takes a right turn at the shed attack, and goes full force scifi and tragic separation, I love it. In so many ways it reshapes Alex’s life but the core of who he is never changes, there’s so many great science geekery details about Michael’s planet and the astronaut journey that Alex takes, plus SANDERS... anyway, this is a fandom classic for me.
***
Crossed Wires by @beautifulcheat, @ladynox (15,351) Michael's been kicked off more than one Starfleet posting. So when he learned he was reassigned to the USS Roswell, he decided that he would keep his head down and behave. This decision is immediately thwarted when he meets her hot Vulcan captain. This might be the first time Michael got kicked off a posting for flirting with a captain.
why i like it: Star Trek AU? I’m pretty easy. Seeing elements of Kirk and Spock’s tragic backstory blended into genius mechanic Michael Guerin and ice prince Alex Manes was amazing. I love how it’s serving with his family that brings Michael to the Enterprise, his bond with Max and Isobel was chef’s kiss good. The blend of Michael’s powers and Alex’s biology - I loved the balance even if it came with its own misunderstandings, but hey, this time it was cultural! lol
***
I’m still here by @vague-shadows @pippsmcgee  (35,928) Treasure Planet AU in which Michael is the gifted young delinquent who found a treasure map, and Alex is a space pirate pawn in his Father's obsession with riches and legacy.
why i like it: I’ve never seen Treasure Planet, but I didn’t need to thoroughly enjoy this AU. This was the perfect mix of angst and sci-fi adventure, where the authors managed to make the shed even more horrifying. Jesse Manes is the absolute worst in this story, the levels of obsession he goes to find a treasure, and then Michael on his own collision course - the ability to write tense action is a gift, and it’s on display in this story. Cyborg!Alex took up a place in my heart and still lives there, where he only gets the nicest things.
If you like any of these recs, please leave a comment on the story or a kudo- a  ‘this was awesome’ is enough to propel an author into the stratosphere with happiness, so don’t worry about coming up with a unique, never before shared insight- sometimes a keyboard smash and emoji makes all  the difference!

Note
If you're still open to hcs... I have one that Spock's hair is actually curly, he just straightens it. Like, in TOS both his parents have mild curls. Vulcans are naturally aren't fond of water, but Spock is in constant battle with water/humid planets because they immediately ruin the hard work he puts into his hair each morning.
OH!!!! This is such a cute headcanon tbh!!!! I love it!
Also makes me think that Sarek also straightened his hair during DSC and as he got older (TOS time) he decided to stop as the wavier hair was seen as more approachable than the severe bowlcut, and better for his ambassadorial duties!! 😌

Star Trek DarkSide: Get to know Mr. Spock [X4]
past1: Kid Spock and Lu'ne[Kid Mirror Spock]
We don't know how much there is a difference between Spock and Mirror Spock, because we know very little about Mirror Spock. So many people are trying to imagine him and I am one of them. However, this Mirror Spock in the event is the only character in my universe, "Star Trek Darkside".
1. Talk about your home planet.
Spock "Vulcan planet, also known as T'Kashi, does not have a moon as its satellite. It is a planet of magnitude xx, gravity xx, orbits the sun xx, orbits itself xx, atmospheric pressure xx, atmospheric composition xx, planetary composition xx, magnetic field xx,... There is a desert, hot climate like Terra's equatorial region...blah blah..."
*Sarek: [He's proud of his son, but he won't show it.]
Lu'ne "Sethna is a planet that orbits a red dwarf in five days and has a plane axis. The days and nights are therefore longer than Terra. But because of the strong magnetic field, we are little affected by heat and solar wind. The weather there is hot and humid, it rains a lot. Sometimes there are mushrooms growing on the clothes I wash and dry in the sun.
*Mirror Sarek: "That's because you forgot to pack your clothes."
2. Describe yourself as half-human, half-vulcan.
Spock "My father is a Vulcan and my mother is a human being. I was not recognized by other students. I expected to be able to be a complete Vulcan like my father. Although my human blood is at my disadvantage, I believe I can train as much as anyone if I had self-discipline."
Lu'ne "I am the invention of the empire's greed. But it doesn't matter as long as I know who I am and how I want to live in this world. I've learned to feel the human equivalent and control like Vulcan. So, whether I am welcomed by humans and Vulcan or not, I will not be shocked for."
3. What do you think about T'Pring?
Spock "Our minds have been bound together since the age of seven. It was a logical and a Vulcan way that had to be prepared for the future when my time came. After that we will be completely married and bond with each other for the rest of our lives."
Lu'ne "She is cute! [Looking at her photos] I should have invited her on a date once!"
4. What activities do you enjoy?
Spock "Vulcan is not enjoy"
Lu'ne "Watching anime or reading manga is fun. I go for walks in the forest, paint, sing, or play music, sometimes making toys. Of course, I find entertainment from many things, including imagining fun things. ”
5. Your opinion when your mom reads "Alice in Wonderland" to you?
Spock "That's the most unreasonable story."
* Amanda: "It might not suit you, my son. Some of us should read about Surak's philosophy"
Spock "No, Mom. Because it doesn't make sense, we need to keep reading to know how Alice will find a way to get home."
Lu'ne "I wonder if Alice might be dreaming."
* Amanda:...... (-_-")
6. Please explain about your sister...
Spock “Michael was adopted by my father and mother. She is a human with curly hair and dark skin. Her eyes are black. She is older than me."
Lu'ne "Judah is a cross between Vulcan and El-Aurian. She is two years younger than me and as lovely as an Asian girl. "
7.What you do when you have nightmares
Spock "Vulcan doesn't dream", (he's ashamed for not answering. In fact, he had nightmares at times and he believed it was a mistake that came from the weakness of the human side in him.)
Lu'ne "I will write down a very detailed story to examine and find psychological reasons. My father always taught me that I can't act like my problem doesn't exist, because I won't be able to control my emotions if I don't fully understand it."
8. Tell us about your pets.
Spock "I-Chaya is a loyal servant and friend. It is an honor for me that my father has entrusted me to supervise and train it.”
Lu'ne "My house never lacked a cat. Of course they were cute."
9. What are your feelings about your family?
Spock “Feelings are emotions and are not taken into account. However, I respect them properly and properly.”
Lu'ne "I think I love them. Even I don't have a clear knowledge of what love is."
10. What do you expect in the future--when you grow up?
Spock "I expected me to be a complete Vulcan with logic and control. Another Vulcan who looked at me would find that I was just like them. And I wish to grow up to be a good citizen of society and do what is good for the public.”
Lu'ne "I would like to pool every potential I have, learn independently and do what I want--which of course--the ability to control emotions and a strong mental shield are needed--to Unaffected by the emotions and opinions of others."
*Thank you for giving us time.
Spock "Thanks aren't necessary."
Lu'ne "with pleasure"

A sharp intake
Chapter 5
McCoy took his breakfast to eat with Spock, that morning despite not knowing whether or not Spock really understood what he said, he had explained to Spock that he was suffering and injury. McCoy sat on the end of his bed eating his own breakfast, Spock sat on the floor picking at his last vegetable.
“I’ll tell you what though, this whole silent thing, is freaking me out. Is it because you got shrunk or are you just stubborn? Can you physically not? Are you shy?” McCoy says, carrying on one of his many rambles. Spock tilts his head.
“That is exactly what I’m talking about” McCoy said picking up his plate, and Spock’s empty bowl “anyway. I’ll see you for lunch I’ll send nurse Chapel in soon.”
McCoy took the bowls over to the door only to become horribly aware that he was being followed. It wasn’t the noise he made, and he didn’t stand too close. It was just, an awareness.
He turned to the boy who stayed silent “and where do you think you’re going?” Spock touched the door with a hand. McCoy sighed he lent down on one knee.
“It’s too dangerous out there for you, the atmosphere, and gravity could hurt you. It’s not that I want to keep you in here. Do you understand?” He asked.
Spock nodded.
“Good” McCoy said, as Spock took a step to the side. McCoy opened the door to let himself out, and Spock ran.
“Spock!”
It wasn’t purely that his vulcan speed would force the adults to run, but the timing of his escape had gone perfectly with the closing of the elevator doors out in the hall. By the time McCoy had put down the bowl and plate, he could see no sign of where Spock had gone. Had he gone in the elevator, or had he run down the hall? For Spock on the other hand it was a different story, he had got himself stuck in an elevator with a very surprised young man. A man with curly hair, and a yellow jumper.
“Hello Mister Spock” Chekov said. Spock looked up at the man, but stayed mostly still.
“Where are you going?” Chekov asked curiously.
Spock did not reply.
“Do you remember me?”
Spock shook his head.
“My name is Chekov. I am going to Sulu’s lab, it has lots of plants like a green house. Would you like to come with me?”
Spock thought for a moment still eyeing Chekov wearily. But he nodded his head, as the lift came to a stop.
“Come on then Mizster Spock.” Chekov said leading him down the hallway.
Sulu’s lab, known to everyone else as the gardening room, or even the plant specimen lab, was a long room, warm and humid, sections were built up high to grow plants. Bush’s and plants full of berries decorated the path as they walked through.
“Sulu? Are you in here?” Chekov called as they got deeper into the room. The view completely blocked by the greenery for tiny Spock.
“Yes? I just had to water my-” Sulu stopped watering a greenish plant with a pink flower. Instead of petals it had five differently sized phalanges and they followed Sulu as he moved, even giving him a friendly nip.
“Hello Spock” Sulu said putting the watering can down, Spock greeted him with the vulcan salute, which Sulu mimicked back.
“Chekov” Sulu said with wide eyes, and then gestured up with his hands “why is Mister Spock with you?”
“I found him.”
“McCoy’s going to be angry” Sulu said pursing his lips to hide a grin.
“Then the Doctor should have kept a better eye on him.”
Sulu shrugged “well this is a you problem, so I’m going to leave that one to you.”
“In Russia we share each others problems.”
“Get in trouble by yourself, thank you.” Sulu said watching as Spock slowly approached staring at deeply at the pink flower.
“I found him in the elevator” Chekov said “if anything I am hero.”
“Thats one way of phrasing it, kidnapper, could be another.” Sulu said as Spock pointed questionably to the flower.
“Who this? This is Mr Benjamin.” Sulu introduced Spock. Spock reached out his hand, but looked to Sulu before moving to close.
“Yes! Yes you can touch him, he’s very nice.” Sulu said excitedly and stroked the head of the flower. Spock stroked the flower. The flower moved and played with Spock, just as it had been doing with Sulu.
“He is very cute” Chekov said.
“I know, you know I’ve him since he was just a sapling.”
“…I meant Spock. Nothing like when I was a child.” Chekov said.
“Oh.” Sulu said and looked to Chekov “I don’t think I believe that, I’m sure you were just as adorable as you are now.”
“You do not understand” Chekov said “father vould straighten hair and give bowl cut for school photography. I look awful.”
Sulu snorted “no. No. I’m not believing that. A bowl cut?”
“Father vould say bowl cut good, bowl cut inwented in Russia.”
“What do you think Spock? Bowl cut invented in Russia?” Sulu asked.
Spock shook his head, his attention still on the flower.
“Maybe bowl cut was invented on vulcan, right?” Sulu laughed.
“You not know true horrors of bowl cut” Chekov said pointing to Spock “that is short hair and tiny fringe bowl cut leave true trauma.”
At this Sulu had doubled up with laughter, Spock stopped stroking the flower as he paid careful attention to the two humans.
“This not funny Sulu, very scarring for me, I not able to show cute childhood photos and win peoples hearts.”
“What on earth going on here” Nurse Chapel her shoes loudly hitting the floor as she marched in, she didn’t shout but her sudden appearance had been enough to make the three of them jump.
“And why haven’t you returned Spock to the medical bay?” She asked walking past Chekov and over to Spock.
“I not know he lost” Chekov said.
“He’s not supposed to be in here it’s too humid. Come on Spock” Nurse Chapel said holding out a hand for him. Spock tugged at Sulu’s trousers hiding behind him.
“Aw I’m sorry Spock, maybe you should go with her.” Sulu said, in return Spock gave him a death glare.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, you got to.”
Slowly Spock walked out from his hiding place and stood next to Nurse Chapel, her hand still held out.
“You’re holding my hand. You’ve already run away once, and I know it is perfectly acceptable to hold a vulcan child’s hand so come on.”
Slowly he took her hand and walked out of the room, hearing a small call behind them of
“Goodbye commander!”

Note
how about atlas and/or vulcan notes? (👀)
again; all my notes r mostly related to design stuff and the fact that these r technically redesigns !!!
atlas’s original design started Here:
Tumblr media
Notes On This Design;
hair definitely not good. the ombre didnt rlly work w the design i wanted for him then and it DEFINITELY doesnt work now
clothes dont rlly mesh together and are overall Bland
i think i based the hoodie on an old power rangers hoodie i had but u cant tell and also it just doesnt work
the necklace is just kinda boring
eyes dont work w the style
poor body type design again :(
pose and lighting are still decent it just doesnt portray the right attitude for atlas overall
i couldnt draw lightning then and you can tell (its WAY too bendy)
in between this and some other drawings i gave up on trying to keep coles powers looking kinda whirl-windy and muddy like in canon so obviously i dislike that part too
shoes are Bad
eyeshadow is cute but kinda gaudy with the rest of the design
in comparison to altas’s recent design here:
Tumblr media
(apologies off the bat for the weird cropping and size i know damn well tumblr will ruin this)
Some Notes On This Design;
hair actually feels like a combination of coles long hair/bun and jays wavy/curly hair as i draw it (it IS a ponytail !)
poofy pants again (keeps coherency with the other fusion designs who also have them !) but this time with a slight cloudy gradient bc storm/lightning powers
orange flair ! when i was first doing his palette he did not have that, but i ran it by some friends and asked if they liked it better with or without the orange and they all said with !
arm bands and bracers (cute and also functional)
stirrup leggings again and cloth shoes (also cute and functional)
blue nails painted with an orange accent nail since i couldnt work in the eyeshadow but wanted something not Traditionally Masculine
both cole and jay have an eye scar on the same side, so in atlas its exaggerated to look more like a lightning bolt across the face
the face is a little too close to how i draw jay in this style but if i were to give him other features outside of this style i would balance it better so i dont have a problem with it !!
belt and scarf flair combo (bc again; cute)
keeps jays freckles bc why not !
the pose feels a little more mischievous this time around which i hope comes across ?
i learned to draw lightning ! still kept the one power on each hand thing but now it feels more like i know what im doing
also crystals ! that is an earth power.
overall; friend shaped but not entirely innocent. >:3 emoji embodiment, capable of being a jackass

Truly Good At Heart (Pavel Chekov Imagine)
Tumblr media
Author’s note: Hey guys, so this is my first imagine in a very long time. I’m hoping to write more from now on, so please don’t hesitate to request imagines and give some constructive criticism! Enjoy!
You sat in the prison bay on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, glaring at the three men standing on the other side of the glass looking in at you. One of them, who you had heard referred to as ‘Captain’, was watching you with severity and an almost scolding look, while the other two, both in blue shirts and one of which was a Vulcan, simply watched you with curiosity and slight confusion.
“Captain, are you certain that she is what you stated earlier?” The Vulcan inquired, turning to look at the man in the yellow command shirt, whose gaze didn’t shift from you for a second. ‘It’s not like I’m going anywhere. What’s this guy’s problem?’ You thought to yourself, a scowl (somewhat matching the other man in a blue shirt’s one) appearing on your face.
At this, you stood up and matched the Captain’s gaze with equal ferocity, “A mercenary, you mean? Yeah. That’s me. Now, can I get the hell out of here and back to what I need to do?” At this, all three men stared at you before the other man in blue spoke up, “How can I put this in a way you’ll understand? You’re a damned professional murderer, kid. So you’re under arrest until we get back to Earth.” At this, you simply walked up to the glass barrier and snapped, “I’m getting arrested for going after one of the most dangerous fugitives on the loose? A fugitive who was on death row for the murder of hundreds of innocent civilians, men, women and children alike? Please, I’m doing the Federation a favor. That is, if you morons have the sense to let me get back to my job. I almost had him when you idiots beamed down and arrested me. ME! Instead of that criminal!”
“Don’t you get it kid? You’re a criminal too! You’ve killed people too!” The Captain snapped back venomously, and you would’ve recoiled had that been the first time you heard that. But, luckily, you had heard that multiple times. You told yourself that many times a day. So, you just rolled your eyes and said, “I didn’t kill people. I DON’T kill people. I kill monsters. Horrible, deranged monsters who have lost every last ounce of their humanity, or any sense of right and wrong. Besides, wasn’t it your beloved Starfleet that ordered his capture? “Dead or alive”, I believe the arrest said?” “How the hell did you know that?” The other man in blue said, his eyes narrowing in suspicion as he watched you. You just smiled before cocking your head to the side, your tone dripping with false sweetness and innocence, “I’m not just a pretty face. I’ve picked up a few skills along the way.” At that, all three men fell silent, watching you incredulously. Then, the Vulcan suddenly spoke up, his tone calm, “What is your name and age?”
You rolled your eyes before leaning against the wall, “Don’t you know it’s rude to ask a lady her age, Pointy?” The Vulcan cocked his head to the side, “’Pointy’? Is that a derogatory reference to-?” “Spock, we’ve already been through this. Just forget it,” The Captain cut him off, before turning back to you, “By Starfleet regulations, any and all persons under arrest are required to answer such questions. So, kid, who are you?”
You glared at him for a moment before sighing and standing up straight. However, just as you were about to explain who you were, the doors to the prison bay opened and in ran a young man with curly hair who couldn’t be that much older than yourself. You couldn’t help but notice how cute the young man was, but you quickly shook the thought out of your mind. “Keptin! Keptin! Ve haf just received a message from Starfleet! Zhey haf ordered all wessels to go after zis fugitive, sir!” The young man exclaimed as he handed the Captain his PADD. You cocked your eyebrow in interest as you watched the Captain go through the information on the PADD, and as his face paled and he looked up at you.
The young, curly-haired man looked at you for the first time, and when he saw you, he did a bit of a double-take; what was a pretty, young lady like yourself doing in the prison bay? Meanwhile, the Captain held up the PADD to face you, a picture of the wanted fugitive you had been so close to getting, “Is this the man you were after?” You just nodded your head, “Yeah, that’s him alright.” The Captain turned to the three other men, and after a little while of the three of them conversing quietly, they turned back to you and the Captain spoke up, “Since our introductions were interrupted, I believe we should take a moment now. My name is Captain Kirk, and before we decide anything, we need to know more about you. So, once again, who are you, kid?”
“My name is (Y/L/N). (Y/N) (Y/L/N). I’m 17 years old, and I have 23 kills to my name,” you stated simply, watching their faces intently. You felt slightly smug as you watched all their eyes widen when you stated your age. However, none of them flinched when you listed your kills except for the young Russian, who looked startled and even a bit afraid. But now, he was watching you intently, his big blue-green eyes focusing on you with curiosity. You decided to continue, sighing quietly as you told your story, “I never really had a proper family, but in the end I found one. It wasn’t perfect, but they took care of me and taught me to take care of myself. Now, here I am.” When nobody commented on that, you decided to drop your guard just a bit and be honest, “Look, I know I’m not a good person. I’ve killed people, yeah, but I did it because they posed a threat to others. I guess.....in some strange way.....I felt like I was doing something good. But now........guess that’s over. So, what’s the deal?”
That truly took Kirk, Spock, Bones and Chekov off-guard, You had gone from cold-hearted mercenary to a small, young, vulnerable girl in a matter of moments. Kirk, Spock and Bones began to talk quietly once more, but Chekov simply watched you for a few more seconds. The more he looked at you, the more he got the feeling that you weren’t truly as bad as maybe your profession made it seem. You looked up at the Russian, and you couldn’t help but smile a bit at him. This small smile solidified Chekov’s gut feeling, and he turned to the group and quickly interjected, “Excuze me, Keptin, but I think ve should let Miss (Y/L/N) help us.”
Kirk, Spock and Bones all shut up for a few seconds before turning to look at the young ensign. “Oh yeah? And why’s that, Mr. Chekov?” Kirk asked, genuinely intrigued to hear what his navigator had to say on the subject. Chekov cleared his throat before beginning his explanation, “I have no concrete vay of proving zat my opinion iz correct, but I have a gut feeling zat Miss (Y/L/N) izn’t az bad az ve think she is, sir. And zere might be a chance zat ve can convince Miss (Y/L/N) to change professions, and if she proves useful enough, to even perhaps join ze crew.”
The three senior officers stayed silent as they processed what Chekov had said, but then Kirk had a bit of a smile on his face as he said, “I think Chekov might have a point here.” “Jim, you’re not seriously considering-” Bones began, but Kirk immediately cut him off, “Of course I am. Bones, this girl might be our key to catching this guy. So I think Chekov’s got a point.” And with that, Kirk spun around before addressing you once more, “Well, Miss (Y/L/N), I think there’s a chance of us letting you go, but in exchange, you need to help us catch that fugitive. However, if you try to escape, you’re coming straight back in here with no second chance for release. If you try to turn on us, same thing. If you try to attack anyone, I’ll have Bones sedate you and drag you back here. Understood?”
You looked at him, taking everything he said into account before nodding your head, “Alright, Captain Kirk. You’ve got yourself a deal.” After a pause, you continued, “Thank you for giving me a second chance. I know I probably don’t deserve it.” “Don’t thank me,” Kirk replied, a small smile on his face as he patted the young Russian on the back, “Thank Mr. Chekov and his gut feeling, here.” You turned to face the young man, before smiling at him and bowing your head gratefully, “Thank you, Russian. I owe you one. Big time.” At that, Chekov blushed a bright pink before smiling at you and replying, “It iz no problem, Miss (Y/L/N). I juzt hope you prove me right.” “I’ll try my best,” you replied, being more honest than you had in your entire life.
*TIME SKIP*
“Quick! If we split up, we’ll have a better chance of getting him!” You shouted to Kirk over your shoulder as you fired your phaser.
You were caught in a shootout with the fugitive in an abandoned building, and you knew there were only a couple ways this could end; either he would kill the whole lot of you, as he had done countless times before, and get away, or you would manage to run the bastard down, corner him and bring his destruction to an end.
“Captain, the statistical probability that this is simply a ruse to escape is extremely-”
“Shut it, Pointy! This is a matter of life and death!” You shouted immediately, shutting Spock up as you continued to fire, trying your best to hit your current target. You weren’t certain, but you thought you heard a slight snort come from Kirk as watched your back.
“Miss (Y/L/N) juzt might have a point, Keptin. Zis iz getting us novhere!” Chekov shouted from his position, just across the corridor. You took a second to shoot him a small smile, and you could’ve sworn that a pinkish glow appeared on the Russian’s face. Kirk grabbed your shoulder and quickly yanked you back into the small alcove where you were hiding, narrowly saving you from a blast to the face.
“Now’s not the time to flirt, (Y/L/N)!” Kirk scolded you, although the look on his face gave away that his scolding was less serious than you believed it to be, “I think you’re right. We’re gonna have to split up. I’ll stay behind with Spock, distract our target. I’ll let you and Chekov find your way over to him and get the bastard at last. Be careful, (Y/L/N), you’ll only have one chance. Don’t blow it.”
“Me? Blow it?” You scoffed, withdrawing a second phaser and setting it to ‘Kill’, “Never.”
Kirk looked as though he wanted to retort snappily, but before he could, you shouted “Cover me!” and dashed out into the open corridor, once again narrowly avoiding several shots as you made it to where Chekov was standing. “Come on, Russian. Let’s go!” You muttered as you grabbed him by the sleeve and tugged him after you.
You could feel your heart pounding violently as you sprinted from corridor to corridor, weaving your way closer and closer to your target. Your blood was rushing in your ears and it drowned out the sound of phaser blasts, your footsteps, everything. Even Chekov seemed to fade away as you got closer and closer to the target, to the monster who had killed so many people, torn apart so many families, ruined so many lives...
‘This is your chance, (Y/N)! This is your chance to end the bastard! This is your chance for justice!’
You felt the anger and the pure, unadulterated rage coursing through your veins. This was it. This was going to be the moment you had been waiting for, the moment you had been hunting down and chasing for so long. This was it.
As you and Chekov rounded a corner, you caught sight of your target. Thankfully, Kirk and Spock were doing a grade-A job of keeping him engaged and distracted that he didn’t notice your and Chekov’s sudden appearance. Your heart was frantic now, beating so hard that your chest physically hurt from anticipation. Your breathing was shaky and you could feel sweat breaking out as you approached the fugitive.
“(Y/N), are you alright?”
Chekov’s voice startled you out of your daze, and you quickly shrugged him off with a mumbled, “I’m fine. Got this.” You could pretty much feel Chekov’s worried gaze piercing your back, but you couldn’t allow him to get in the way. Not now. Not when you were so close.
You felt a piece of you shut down. You were going into killing mode. You were taking the most vulnerable, softest, most innocent piece of yourself and locking it away. You didn’t want this to cost you more than it already did every time you had made a kill. This was it.
Suddenly, everything was going in slow motion. The world around you moved ten times slower than you. Everything was silent. There was just you and the fugitive, this monster you had been hunting for so long, this bastard who had to pay for the things he had done.
You found yourself sprinting towards him.
His back was facing you.
He was turning.
Suddenly, he was face to face with you.
You felt yourself raising your phaser.
You felt your phaser firing, you had taken the shot.
You watched his body drop to the ground.
But though his eyes closed and his body went limp, you could see his chest rising and falling. He was still breathing.
He was still alive.
‘What are you doing?!’ Your mind screamed, ‘Kill him! Kill this bastard! Make him pay!’
Some part of you registered Kirk, Spock, Chekov and the rest of the crew present joining you, binding the fugitive so he couldn’t escape and setting him up on his knees. Your blood was still rushing in your ears, louder now than before, and your heart pounding even more violently than ever. You could see Kirk and Spock talking to one another, as well as with other crew members, you could see their lips moving. But you couldn’t hear a sound.
You turned to see Chekov watching you carefully, his lips also moving, but you could not bring yourself to read them. You could not hear him, either.
‘Forget him! Kill the bastard! Kill him! He deserves to die for all he’s done! He deserves this! Kill him!’
You watched as the fugitive slowly regained consciousness from being stunned. You watched his eyes focus in on his surroundings, you watched him compute what was happening, what had happened to him.
You watched his eyes widen and fill with fear, probably for the first time ever, as you found yourself pointing the phaser right between his eyes.
“(Y/L/N)! What are you doing?! Put your phaser down!” Kirk shouted as he saw you do this. But you ignored him. You could hear Chekov shouting as well, but you didn’t care. You had to do this.
You looked this fugitive, this man, who had done so many bad things, who was up to his neck in other people’s blood, and watched the fear that was so foreign to him flash in his eyes as they flitted between you and your phaser. You knew he was at your mercy, and he knew it, too. And yet...
You don’t know what happened, but instead of your finger moving to pull the trigger, your mouth moved instead.
“You have no idea how long I’ve dreamed of killing you. I’ve pictured a thousand different ways of making you suffer before finally snuffing out your miserable, empty life. I want you to pay for what you’ve done. You have killed so many people, and hurt so many more in the wake of all your destruction. You deserve to pay. But I’m not going to kill you. Because killing you would be all too easy. You wouldn’t truly suffer. You wouldn’t pay for what you’ve done. You’d just get away with it all. So instead, Im going to let you live. You’re going to have to live with the knowledge that you’ve killed innocent people, that you’ve destroyed and torn apart so many lives. And all for nothing.”
You took a deep breath after speaking, your voice quiet and even and borderline calm despite your pounding heart. After a couple moments of silence, you spoke one last time to this creature in front of you, “I’m not going to kill you. I’m not going to kill you because I’m better than you. I know better than you, and I will not let myself become like you. Not now, not ever.”
With that, you found yourself holstering your phaser and turning away as Starfleet crew members took the fugitive into custody and carried him away. You squeezed your eyes shut as you took a few calming, deep breaths, trying not to let yourself be overwhelmed by everything that had just happened. You didn’t know where your words had come from, you didn’t know why you had the sudden change of heart, but it happened regardless.
“(Y/N)?”
Chekov’s voice was soft, but it still startled you slight. You must’ve flinched because Chekov quickly said, “Zorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
After a moment, you opened your eyes and looked up at the Russian, who had a smile on his face and a look on his face that seemed nothing short of awed.
“W-Why are you looking at me like that?’ You asked, your voice shaking as the courage from before seemed to fail you. Chekov gave a slight chuckle before nodding his head to something behind you. When you turned your head, you realized that most of the crew members, including Kirk, had the same expression on their face as Chekov had had on his. Spock was the only exception, but even he had raised his eyebrows, clearly more shocked than he’d expected to be.
“What are you all staring at?” You snapped, your usual demeanor returning; you hated feeling or being seen as vulnerable.
After a few moments of silence, Kirk stepped forward and began to speak, “(Y/N), in all my years of being a captain, I have never seen anyone been able to restrain themselves like that. Especially not in a moment like that. You’ve been chasing this guy for ages, and you easily could’ve killed him. And yet, you chose not to. I don’t know anyone who’s ever done that before. That was incredible.”
The rest of the crew nodded in agreement, many of them smiling at you as they did so. You felt the heat rising to your face as you shrugged and replied, “In all honesty, I don’t really know where that came from. It just... happened, I guess.”
“I zhink...” Chekov started softly, causing you to look at him, “...zat it’z becauze you are truly good at heart. Regardless of your past, you haf goodness in you, (Y/N). And you just uzed it. Zat iz vhat zat vas.”
You watched the Russian’s face for a couple moments, and your heart gave a funny little lurch as you gave him a genuine smile, “I hope you’re right. Thanks, Pavel.”
Chekov’s eyes widened, “How do you know my name? I’ve never said it in front of you.”
At this, you just smiled cheekily and replied, “As I told Captain Kirk earlier, I’m not just a pretty face. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve.”
As Chekov just stood there, dumbfounded, Kirk burst into laughter. “Oh man, you’re quite a mischievous one, (Y/L/N)! Although, I’ve gotta say, Chekov’s right. Your heart seems to be in a better place than I thought it was. I think you’ve got the makings of a great officer in you, and Starfleet could always use someone as talented as you.”
You stood there for a moment, suddenly as dumbfounded as Chekov was as you sputtered, “B-But my criminal record! I’m a criminal, aren’t I? A mercenary. I can’t just apply for Starfleet. Plus, I’m still under arrest.”
Kirk bowed his head, “Yes, you are. For now. If we bring you in and credit you with the fugitive’s arrest, as well as vouch for your character... well, you’d be able to eventually become a part of Starfleet. But it will take some time. Promise to think about it?”
You stayed quiet for a moment, looking from Kirk to Spock, and then from Spock to Chekov. Chekov just smiled at you, making your heart jolt once more. You turned back to face Kirk and replied with utmost confidence, “Definitely. But for now, let’s get this villain back to Earth so he can stand trial for his crimes.”
“Indeed,” Spock chimed in, nodding his head and heading off with the crew, back towards the shuttle that had brought you all to this place. Kirk smiled at you and Chekov, said “Well done, both of you,” and then followed after Spock. This left just you and Chekov behind.
“Man, did that really just happen?” You breathed out, in complete disbelief. Chekov laughed softly before placing his hand on your back gently, “Yez, it did.” A shiver seemed to run down your spine at the contact, but it was a good kind of shiver. One you had never felt before. You felt warm and comforted for the first time in what felt like forever.
“I hope you do enlist in Starfleet, (Y/N). Ze keptin iz right; you’d make a great officer.” Chekov spoke gently, causing you to grin back at him and reply, “I hope so, too. I guess we’ll just have to see what happens next.”
“Vell, I’m sure zat vhatever happens, you’ll be able to handle it.” Chekov said confidently before he headed off after the rest of the crew.
You stood there for one last moment, watching Chekov’s retreating figure with a small, goofy smile on your face as you thought to yourself, ‘Well, I guess there’s only one way to find out.’ before setting off after him.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart
Long Time Comin’ Part 3
Part 1 Part 2
Star Trek AOS
Leonard McCoy x Reader
Warnings: It’s literally just fluffy nonsense. I think I swore once.
A/N: This part is honestly kind of a mess but I think it’s cute so there. Let’s just pretend it’s here for character development or something okay? Okay. Also let me know if you'd like to be on a tag list for the rest of the series/other works I do!.
Thanks for reading!
You shivered a little as you typed a last-minute note into your PADD and glanced around the medbay. Despite the temperature controls on the Enterprise, you couldn’t help but feel a little chilly in the vastness of space.
           “How you holdin’ up, kid?”
You pushed back an errant piece of hair and turned to see a mildly concerned McCoy looking at you.  Another shiver ran down your spine as you rubbed your arms absentmindedly.
“Is it always this cold, or is it just me?” you sighed.
He chuckled as you handed him the PADD, clocking you out from your first shift. “You’ll get used to it eventually. Come on, let’s go to dinner.”
“Are you going to talk me into making a life-altering decision again?” You shook your head slightly and walked out of the medbay, turning towards the cafeteria. It seemed impossible that the last time you’d had dinner with McCoy had been only a few days ago; so much had changed in so little time.
“No, but buckle up darlin’ because you’re about to meet Captain James Tiberius Kirk himself.” McCoy rolled his eyes and abruptly changed directions, “but first, I’m going to take you on a tour.”
“That’s really not necessary, I’ve studied the map,” you protested, “you’ve done enough for me as it is.”
“Too bad.” McCoy playfully shoved you into the turbolift and proceeded to give you what was likely the most deprecating tour of a starship in Federation history.
“And this is the engineering room,” McCoy gestured around the room with a sarcastic flourish when you reached the ship’s heart, “where Scotty over here plays with what is nothin’ more than a giant bomb waiting to explode.” He shook his head, looking deeply pained, “also known as the warp core.”
“Hey! That’s my ship you’re talkin’ about there laddie!” The chief engineer poked his head out from a hole in the ceiling, hanging upside down with a torch in hand.
“Good god man!” McCoy jumped back, startled by Scotty’s sudden appearance, “you’d think someone in charge of keeping this entire hunk of metal together would be more careful with the damn blowtorch.”
You laughed and stepped past McCoy, reaching up a hand to shake Scotty’s. “I’m Y/N, pleasure to meet you sir.”
“Aye, there’s no need to be callin’ me sir, lass.” He shook your hand and winked, grinning at McCoy, “She’s a pretty one, isn’t she now Leonard?”
McCoy grumbled something about where Scotty could put his blowtorch and led you through another set of hallways, ending at the observation deck.
You immediately strode into the room, staring up at the stars streaming past you in rays of light. It was peaceful yet striking, a quiet display of the beautiful enormity of the universe. You were quiet for a few moments, wrapped up in the view, until you noticed that you were standing in the center of the vast room alone.
“McCoy?” you turned around, frowning when you saw him shifting uncomfortably in the doorway.
“I don’t like space,” he said bluntly, staring at the floor and crossing his arms.
“Why?” you squinted at him, confused, “why do you work on a starship if you don’t like space?”
He shrugged, “Jim dragged me out here. Besides, someone needs to keep all of these idiots from getting themselves killed.”
You masked a smile at his thinly concealed affection for his crewmates and walked to the door, resisting the temptation to take his hand. He seemed so small and vulnerable suddenly, cowering in the doorway, afraid of what was always just outside the glass.
“I’m hungry,” you nudged McCoy, still not entirely sure of what to do with his inconvenient fear of space but knowing better than to push him.
“Let’s go meet these friends of yours.”
You walked into the Cafeteria and were greeted by a chorus of hello’s as McCoy was waved over to one of the bigger tables. The group assembled was talking loudly and energetically, waving their hands as they joked and argued.
“All that I’m saying is, the Kobayashi Maru isn’t even fair to begin with,” the handsome man in a gold shirt seemed barely able to keep himself from running around the room, bouncing his leg and staring pointedly across the table.
“Captain, as we have discussed numerous times before, you are missing the point of the test entirely,” an even voice responded, the Vulcan radiating a calmness that counteracted the captain’s endless energy.
           “Come on, Spock –“
McCoy cleared his throat loudly and the conversation came to an abrupt halt. You felt a slight flush rise to your cheeks as everyone turned to look at you, suddenly noticing your presence.
“Everyone, I’d like you to meet Y/N. Y/N, this is Commander Spock, Lieutenant Uhura, Lieutenant Sulu,” Spock nodded to you while Uhura and Sulu both smiled and gave you a wave. “This is Chekov, our very own child genius,” McCoy pointed to a curly-haired teenager that strongly resembled a puppy, “and of course, our captain, James T. Kirk.” McCoy gave an exasperated sigh as he looked down at the captain.
           “Jim, you eat like shit.”
The captain gave him a wicked grin and you your second wink of the day. “I have to keep my figure somehow, don’t I Bones?”
“You’re an idiot.” McCoy ate a fry off of Kirk’s plate, ignoring his cry of protest and turning to you. “Have a seat, I’ll be right back.”
You fidgeted nervously with the hem of your uniform and went to sit next to Uhura, at a loss for what to say.
“I’m Jim,” the captain held out his hand after studying you a few moments, “it’s good to have you aboard.”
“Thank you, captain,” you smiled, “I’m happy to be here.”
He continued to look at you like you were a puzzle he couldn’t quite solve. “Have I seen you before? You look familiar.”
“I was a few years ahead of you at the academy, it’s possible we ran into each other at some point.” You shrugged, not wanting to discuss the reasons for your several-year disappearance from Starfleet on your first day back.
           Jim, however, was insatiably curious.
“If you graduated before me, why does your file state that this is your first assignment –“
“So, tell me about the away mission I was lucky enough to miss out on today.” McCoy came to your rescue, sliding you a plate of food and sitting down beside you. “Speaking of which, you still haven’t come in for your physical yet.”
You gave McCoy a thankful smile when he glanced at you. You weren’t ready to talk about your past, not just yet, and he seemed to understand that without you having to say a word.
“Don’t tell the captain, but you can call me Nyota.” Uhura whispered to you, the corners of her mouth turning up into a mischievous smile.
“No problem,” you felt yourself finally relax, letting down after a long day. You talked to Nyota and Sulu as you finished your dinner, the comforting presence of McCoy never leaving your side.
Space was cold, but your heart was warmer than it had been in ages on Earth
The medbay was quiet when you walked in the next morning, sipping a cup of coffee and humming quietly to yourself. You walked over to set your mug down and found something soft draped over the nearest chair with a small note pinned to it.
Jim’s dragging me to some godforsaken planet, so try not to let anyone die while I’m away. Comm M’Benga if you need anything.
-          McCoy
The note was written on a piece of paper that looked to be torn from the page of an old book in neat, slanted handwriting. You picked up the sweater it was pinned to, slipping it over your head and breathing in the now-familiar scent of the Enterprise’s Chief Medical Officer. McCoy wasn’t the most tactful person, to say the least, but he somehow still managed to be one of the kindest beings you had ever met.
Maybe coming aboard the Enterprise wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Sherlock fix it au
This post was made for the Sherlockians in the BBC Sherlock fandom. Remade twice since I bumped the battery and made my computer turn off by accident. Don't worry, this is the only thing I had to rewrite at the moment. Enjoy! :)
Sherlock is reviewing their previous cases while taking care of Rosamund Watson during the time that John Watson is at the store getting more baby food. Rosie really likes Sherlock. Really, really, really likes his chin and his nose and his curly hair so he gets his hair pulled at by the little one. Sherlock sees a pattern developing. Every two years there is a tragic event in his personal life. It has been occurring since 2010. He has given Rosie a questionable toy to play with being something that normally would be used by a Vulcan child and Mrs Hudson has no idea where he got that from. Sherlock claims he got it from a client. Rosie loves it. Hudson looks back at the many clients that knocked on his door and came in, some of which were crying while the two men were asking their case. Sherlock starts to get worried about Rosie. Because what if the next tragedy is John losing his only daughter? He begins to believe he is the titular character of this TV show. And it's called Sherlock. And it airs on the telly on the BBC channel. When John gets back, he sees Rosie has completed the game. And Sherlock has the board decorated in events from the past. Rosie is playing with her animals and organizing them that Sherlock had decided to purchase. Sherlock puts the little one in the high chair and John gets the spoon out for the baby. Rosie follows where Sherlock is going and that makes it difficult for John to spoonfeed her. John has to tell Sherlock to come over and stop moving around. Sherlock obliges. And Rosie makes these cute, adorable faces every time she has to swallow something. John finds it ridiculously adorable.  Sherlock is making faces while thinking and---Rosie spits out what she is eating laughing at him. John cleans her up and tries again to feed her this time with success.
Sherlock does research through the internet and makes a fake account. He does research for the sake of wanting to know if he isn't the only one effected by this 'narrative' that he has so far dubbed. There are replies, some recommending psychiatric help, and some giving genuine advice and others sharing their stories. Sherlock deduces the ones that are fake and some that sound genuine. Sherlock is going under the pseudonym of 'Spock House' and he is on the dark end of the internet. John asks which client gave the Vulcan toy. Sherlock gets Rosie out of her high chair and allows her to play with the toys that he left throughout the room for her.  Their conversation steers over to the board via John's curiosity John asks what kind of case involves the events of the past. Sherlock explains over Rosie. Rosie throws a temperantrum over her toy not working. John gets the batteries for Rosie's toy. Rosie resumes playing with her toy after he throws away the old batteries. John admits to Sherlock  that he, too, has  experienced this sensation when the two year period is up. Sherlock also explains that the bullet for him was broken through the sound barrier and that's illogical. She should be alive. And the person who made their lives shitty is responsible for it.  The way he phrases it sounds like he is high. Sherlock has to reassure John that is not high and that he has been sober from drug taking for awhile. He also points out that he only starts taking drugs again because of this stupid narrative. Sherlock has deduced that whoever is writing these stories is a sexist, homophobic, ageist, Sherlockian acting out his greatest fantasys (John never thought he would hear Sherlock say that), and does not have any clue about physics, and may also be a huge fan of Doctor Who. He provides evidence in the form of Jim Moriaty's video and Mary's videos which is illogical because she was so busy. He also tells John there is a slight chance he might be going mad and that this repetitive narrative is driving him nuts making him remind everyone he is a sociopath which he doesn't like to go around and say.  Sherlock also says this is a side by case for his "hypothetically-but-possibly-true-theory-that-might-not-be-and-we-are-insane." John has a long, serious expression on his face. Sherlock tells John that if they could go to whoever wrote this hell for John and convince them to rewrite the episode, he would do it.
John knows that there's a chance that Mary, Sherlock, and he could have been living happly if it wasn't for that stupid narrative. And he is convinced it is true. He does some digging by asking some of his medical professional colleagues to see if they experience it. There are some hypothetical conversations and--yes, there are some people who experience it but not as bad as Sherlock and John and Mycroft and everyone in London. He comes across someone calling themselves the doctor when coming back from the park with Rosie. The doctor, now a black woman with a purple scarf, apologizes but informs John that she can't help but she knows someone who can. And she apologizes for swooping in and leaving a alternate timeline version of Sherlock all those years ago on the sidewalk.  She had to cover for the man because it would have ruined the future plot twists. He rather that he had gone through this process when Mary had died without being highly impossible. And that grieving for losing  Sherlock. John asks if she knows that someone. She replies with, "What? Do I look like I have a tracker on him?" John stares back. "Oh, you do. Sorry, don't. He will find you." The doctor runs after a man in a trench coat while holding her sonic cane, "GET BACK, ARSEHOLE!" John coos back at Rosie and tells her to ignore the polite woman.
Sherlock is purchasing a new book when he is approached by a man who shares a uncanny resemblance with him. The man introduces himself as Doctor Strange. Sherlock deduces they share a common  aspect. Their actor. Doctor Strange informs him that he is correct, and he is  a highly well paid one named Benedict Cumberbatch. He offers him to meet the man. Sherlock refuses. He just like to meet the writer put the effort into a two year limit of bliss. Doctor  Strange informs him Sherlock that he would love to help him after watching The Final Problem. He offers to help the man next year and gives him a card, informing him if he needs reconstructive surgery that he needs to call this man  before it's too late. Sherlock is puzzled because it's the mans number and when he looks up, Doctor Strange has vanished. Sherlock decides to buy some comic books to analyze this person with back up information to know if he is  a worthy person to be an allie to. Sherlock finds out who this Stephen Strange is. When they meet up, Sherlock informs John that they have a chance to change the future. And the past. He makes a lengthy profile for the man to indicate he is patient, he is very skilled, he is very observant, and he is a lot like Sherlock facial wise in the comics. So Sherlock and John plan out what they are going to do, how to approach the writer, how to get to the writer, and convince them to change season 4. Spock deduces the episodes go in this order: the six thatchers, the lying detective, and the final problem. Which technically isn't even final since they are still solving cases and it is highly illogical for a episode title.
One year later, it is 2018, Rosie is using Sherlock as a way to walk with one hand on his pant leg. Sherlock and John have been sleeping together for the past, after reconciling their loss, and how hurt they are by Mary's pointless death being used to garner attention for the show and Euros being used as a prop just for their damn own evolution. They are both hurt by it. Sherlock wants to kill the man who made that deduction.  He has solved plenty of other cases sometimes with  Rosie in tow because she is his father godfather/uncle/ detective. Sherlock is secretly worried that it is getting  closer.  John gives Sherlock a massage while Rosie is rolling around on the floor as she has been doing rather than walking. Rosie stops, calling out "Uncle!" Sherlock drops his newspaper as she is wrapped around the legs of Doctor Strange. John dives in and grabs her, repeatedly apologizing. John is worried, as well, that the next plot is going to be aimed at his daughter. Sherlock has taken Rosie to the Holmes cottage during some of the intense, weird cases. Mrs Hudson has been babysitting Rosie while they were on their usual cases. Sometimes Molly has been taking care of her with Mycroft when Mrs Hudson is sick.  They share a conversation then he offers them a trip to fix everything. Everything leading up to Mary's death. John and Sherlock use their free hands to hold.
Sherlock goes with John and Rosie into the past but not their past. The past of a different time. Doctor Strange informs them they have a time limit and he will be back shortly. He gives them a map and a piece of paper to know where the writers are.  Sherlock and John share a knowing glance as Rosie is looking around curiously.  They embark on what is most likely their daring case yet. To fix season 4 and give themselves a bloody ending. When they arrive, Sherlock informs them, "Get your hands off my personal life." And as you can expect, the reactions make the men fall. John comes in with Rosie when Mark awakens  with Rosie in tow. They are furious. John goes on to rant about how they have been treating him and Sherlock as a chew toy for the universe. They are not chewtoys. Mark thinks these two are Benedict and Martin but no, they prove it is not with three simple words "Mary Watson dies." They just wrote that line. The two men have a crying baby and a unconscious Moffat. Sherlock proposes a different story.  John offers to help make this story something to be remembered about and something that BBC could approve of and everyone is happy BECAUSE NO DAMN QUEER BATING IN THIS EPISODE. SORRY, NO, THAT'S OUR PRIVATE LIFE! WE DON'T MAKE JOKES LIKE THAT!  With some convincing and help. John and Sherlock help rewrite the three episodes. They like it, they sound themselves, and  Mary is alive. Rosie has calmed down.  John is the happiest. Sherlock requests they not make him a drug addict and shoots down when Elementary is mentioned. He has seen it, and, he is not that man. He is Sherlock Holmes a highly intelligent and deductive detective who does not need drugs to solve anything.  Sherlock and John have given Mark plenty of storyline material to last forever so they don't resort to the old timeline. They request to be given a happy ending, and if they dare make another season horrible as season 4, they will personally get the show cancelled. Sherlock and John are taken home by Doctor Strange to find they are in John's flat. And Mary is quite alive. Sherlock looks up to find if that thread he posted is gone. And John is in the mist of tears hugging Mary. Sherlock is willing to be in a hug with  Mary and he reciprocates. Sherlock decides to check for his old nemesis Jim Moriaty to find him quite alive and annoying but for the first time he doesn't care. Euros is a highly intelligent woman working as a psychologist.  And Mrs Hudson, otherwise, is still the same woman he left. He gives her a well deserved hug when he gets back home.  Sherlock feels upbeat and better about himself. Two years later there is a explosion in 221B and Sherlock and John dies. Kidding, they lived happily ever after with Rosie being raised by three parental figures. She calls Sherlock 'Dad' and John 'Daddy' and Mary 'Mommy!' and  Euros is this aunt who manipulates Rosie to do adorable stuff, inncoent things, really. Mycroft is appalled. Rosie calls him Uncle Mycraft to mess with him. Mr and Mrs Holmes are 'Grandma and grandpa.'
The End.
You are very welcome.
