While I wish she had been more open to Molly throughout their marriage, I don't actually think it's bad that she has a place to keep to herself. the thing abt pyro fitz is like its an au within an au with an au. two levels of hell but also kind of three.

level 1 - the one where he manifests during alden's mind break and hides it until fintans mind healing. more on that below

level 2 - mentor gethen spinoff where gethen triggers his pyrokinesis and umm. mansplain manipulate not so much malewife (unless you count elwin???)

LEVEL 1:

smthng smthgn luzia vacker voting to ban pyrokinesis/ most vackers intentionally inhibition of manifestation to the point where the ability is extremely dormant

fitz manifests during aldens mindbreak when theres a lot of emotional turmoil. he cannot expose this Especially as a Vacker lest he be put under more pressure

then comes fintan's mind healing and the everblaze. fitz tries to control it (but is clearly inexperienced) and fintan realizes this, cant resist a young pyrokinetic, scoops him off.

fitz is presumed dead

(also time to mention that he sustained scars from the destruction of oblivimyre. they're shaped like tears)

fitz is not brought to the neverseen. fintan at least realizes he would never agree under those circumstances, so he is isolated.

fintan convinces fitz he is too dangerous and everyone will hate him if he goes back, makes him think HE triggered the everblaze

somewhere along the way the song twins come across him, befriend him, and convince him to escape. linh parallels with atlantis and hydrokinesis etc. soray marella....

then neverseen exillium era where he's reunited with the rest of the keeper crew!!!!! however he hides his identity with a mask. tam tells them its cuz of his scars (which isn't that far off but its more related to the fact that he's scared of how they'll react).

also note fitz does not attend exillium during this time but helps the twins look over their camp. (this probably gives him more insight into the gnome issue later but i just thought of this implication now whoopsies !!)

thats the extent of this au actually. uhhh he comes back to elvin society 4ever changed amen yayy

LEVEL 2:

again w the extremely suppressed pyrokinesis

gethen triggers it when he senses fitzs potential while reading his mind during the troll baby hive confrontation. none of those words were in english

the main thing he notices is how hot it is & how similar it is to fintan n brants minds

also note that in terms of keefe's weird ability detecting shit(whichhh is later but if this were the scenario) he would not register this as pyrokinesis. like with the telepath emotional center with all the feelings correlated with certain colors and sensations -> keefe is like. bro why are you so pissed . fitz is like wtf are u talking abt

also something something how forkle triggers sophies abilities. tho gethen may not possess as much prowess as the forkman so he has other... unconventional methods

(he is not exempt from arson just bc he is not a pyrokinetic. in fact i think he would be even more inclined to set a forest on fire)

with this strategy gethens all "ur the only one who can save them (gnomes??/ trees??). or it or whatever" and fitz says 'HOW?!?!?! theres no water no floof dust or wtv etc etc' and gethen watches until fitzs instincts kick in

this leaves fitz very vulnerable to gethen. sorry we cannot stop giving him bad mentors its like the anakin palpatine curse

fast forward to some standoff and theres flames nearby that get larger as fitz gets angrier (most likely due to alvar....)

sophie calls marella to make her stop it and shes like wdym that aint me and i cant stop it and then it becomes clear that they're behaving according to fitz's feelings. but they wont address that will they

gethen taunting fitz YIPPE

laterr marella goes to fintan in his stupid ice cage and demands he tell her how to control other pyrokinetics' flames, in which he realises theres Another one

goes 'you sly dog gethen youu'

gethen who feeds the fire in fitz via emotional center (either transmitting crazy ideas as he does orrr triggering memories)

Pinterest Kotlc (and it’s flaws)

pinterest kotlc gives me whiplash every time I go on there because as someone who spends most of my kotlc time on tumblr the worlds are just. so drastically different.

pinterest kotlc has a few main points that make up most of the posts. it includes: sokeefe being some monumental, life-changing, beautiful ship that is just absolutely heart-shattering every time someone thinks about it. even tho it’s literally just. flirty bad boy x oblivious girl who is a little feisty towards him

meanwhile most tumblr posts are pretty normal abt sokeefe or are casual enjoyers of the ship

(such as this post)

another: aggressive fitz hatred. they act like he is so terrible to the point where you would think that he would’ve tried to kill sophie. like. bffr. they act like the mc’s ex-boyfriend (who she is on pretty good terms with now) is just the biggest villain of the whole story. it makes me very mad. it also comes with the hatred of sofitz and i just think that’s uncalled for. sofitz was a good ship and so is sokeefe. just because one didn’t work out does not mean the other is inherently so much awesomer and better than the dogshit one that just didn’t work out in the end.

also, most people on kotlc pinterest just blatantly ignore the canon things that are happening in the story (most recently stellarlune) to hate on fitz!! like, at this point you are hating the pinterest fanon character but take it out on the canon fitz!

but yeah.

kotlc pinterest is basically just discourse on the fitz/keefe thing and most are leaning towards sokeefe.

I could also talk about the millennial humor, the poorly made memes, disregard to potential queer or poc representation, the mischaracterization of things like anger issues or poor communication… yeah.

other than those things, once you get past those layers you find some pretty funny and good posts. like these!

how i think kotlc characters would play minecraft: a rant

sophie would absolutely build a dirt shack the first night and then just be like, yea this is home now. i think she would progress fairly quickly because she probably played it growing up. she has literally never beaten the ender dragon tho. not once.

dex would be a god at minecraft. i need him to play so badly. omg he would love redstone and hed probably build a really elaborate base with tons of secret hidden rooms and passages. he would beat the game before everyone else even has iron tools. god he would be such a nerd over minecraft. shannon let the boy play minecraft.

fitz would try really hard to build a cool house, but it would just end up being one of those og diamond cube houses 💀💀 i think hed get frustrated, quit for a bit, then come back and settle for being a farmer and later learn to enjoy making cakes and pies in the game. i think hed make way too many and just end up showing up at other peoples houses and dumping like a stack of cakes on them.

keefe would make such a good builder. i think he would have so much fun designing houses and decorating their interior. i think he would be appalled at sophies shack and insist on building her a new one. he would love collecting all the paintings and displaying them. i think he would also incorporate secret passages and rooms in his houses, along with boobie traps. he would totally make a secret passage connecting his and sophie’s houses. he would also adopt a couple cats, or he and sophie would together. they are cat people.

biana would so love the flower biomes and i think she would get distracted by all the pretty fauna. but when night roles around i think she would just go around beating up hostile mobs, flowers in hand. she could and would beat the ender dragon to death with a flower

linh would 100% make an animal sanctuary and breed a ton of turtles just cause their cute. she would love riding with dolphins and exploring different biomes. she would go on an adventure and come home, lead in hand, and like 200 new animal friends behind her. i think she would also adamantly still be a vegetarian even in the game.

tam would excel at mining and grinding resources. he would have just an ungodly amount of wood, stone, iron, food, etc “just in case of emergency”. i think he would either live in the end, or make a base beneath linh’s animal sanctuary. he would befriend endermen and request a special habitat for them in the sanctuary. i think he would adopt like one dog via linh and he would become extremely attached to it, but would never admit it. he would spoil it rotten.
