Of course you do. How could you not. But do you ever think about this exchange specifically:

Because Adrien is sweet, and forgiving, and kind. In fact, kindness is his defining quality — Marinette herself made sure of it:

“I’ll never tell another boy I love him before I know everything about him! Whether he’s kind or not, thoughtful, what he does outside of school and with who… I’ll know everything.”

But.

Do you ever think about Adrien’s development in S4 and especially S5?

Overtime, he has grown resentful of a system that exploits him relentlessly.

Of the people he gave countless chances to, only to be let down over and over again.

Of the web of lies and half-truths he constantly finds himself tangled into. A web that is only growing bigger, stickier, and trickier to escape.

And the Senticousins. Do you ever think about them?

Do you ever think about how they are each other’s reflection, identical and opposites all at once?

“When you bring a living being into this world, you have a responsibility towards them. Your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover the true meaning of their existence. To deprive them of that… is monstruous.”

“To have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!”

Do you ever think about their opposite character arcs in S5 — one learning mercy and trust, the other developing a rage so strong it could destroy the world?

Do you ever think that if Felix can now have this exchange with his mum, and mean it:

“They’re all monsters!”

“Not all of them.”

Then there’s nothing stopping Adrien from saying this:

“Look closer, Marinette. They’re the monsters.”

The Kwamis! Some of these came easier than others, but since Angelic Layer has no magic involved, all the kwamis became human~ They won't be very prevalent, they're mostly here to fill in background character roles - shop clerks, MCs Tournament Directors, fans - so they won't have a whole lot of speaking roles (aside from, you know, the MCs who're there to commentate on the fights lol). But I thought I'd give them all a nice nod in the story somewhere.

As expected, Tikki and Plagg are the main MCs. Marinette and Adrien's fights will be going on concurrently so Tikki will be commentating Marinette's fights while Plagg commentates on Adrien's. They'll have the most dialogue of the kwamis, so I do want them to have unique ways of discussing what they're seeing.

Pollen will be working directly for the Bourgeois'. As a VIP with a direct relationship with the international director of Angelic Layer, Chloe has her own private practice layer in her home and Pollen is in charge of it's upkeep and maintenance. She matches Armand the Bulter's levels of competence.

Trixx is a Rena Rouge mega fan. They've been following Alya's blog for as long as they can remember and are mega stoked that Alya moved to their city. When Alya starts to doubt herself, it's Trixx's voice that can be heard cheering her on to not give up.

Nooroo and Duusu are servants in the Agreste Estate. Unknown to Adrien, they are fully aware of his sneaking around to play and the two do what they can to make excuses and deflect Nathalie when Adrien isn't where he's supposed to be. They're rooting him on from the shadows!

Wayzz is the adult son of Marianne and Fu. He brings them to Angelic Layer fights against his will because the two really enjoy them. The two seem to be really invested in Ladybug and Chat Noir's career (and the behind the scenes shenanigans that they secretly spy on).

Longg is Kagami's bodyguard. Like Nooroo and Duusu, they are fully aware of what Kagami is doing behind her mother's back and feigns ignorance when Kagami pulls something..."sneaky" to get to a fight secretly.

Here's where we get into some existing jobs from the show:

Orikko and Kaalki are the "Layer Hot Girls (and boy)". lol I just thought it was funny that Angelic Layer even has them.

Mullo is the sales clerk at the Princess Piffle store (the store where you can buy your Angel and all the accessories). All of them lol. Mullo and her many many sisters who look just like her.

Barkk and Fluff take similar but still different roles (the uniforms are ALMOST the same but there are some tiny differences). So Barkk is the receptionist at the Practice Ring (literally you pay to reserve a mini-layer to practice on) while Fluff is the waitress/cashier at the cafeteria at the Tournament Center.

Daizzi is a nurse where Rose goes to the hospital and she has segmental localized vitiligo. Rose is particularly close to Daizzi since she helps Rose make her donations to the hospital.

Sass is the backstage directory, aka, the guy who makes things run. He has an earpiece that has the same diamond pattern as his pants on it! The anime does show one person who helps backstage, but I wanted to have a little fun with Sass's look and tie in to him being "in charge" of the kwamis.

Ziggy works at Socqueline's family art supply shop, which is frequented by Angelic Layer players who are on a bit of a budget. They love talking with the customers about their angels, though mostly the design part.

Stompp is Ivan's foster mother and Roarr his foster sister (Stompp's bio-daughter). I actually didn't think of what kind of job this outfit would be good for, but I think she'd make a good security guard - usually working at rock concerts, which she bonds with Ivan over, but she's also been hired for Angelic Layer tournaments. Sometimes sore losers get a little...violent.

Roarr falls in love with Juleka's Angel Purple Tigress immediately thanks to her pre-existing love of tigers in general. She's even bold enough to proclaim her love to Juleka herself!

Xuppu is Ondine's sibling and a fan of King Monkey, though they'll go out of their way to make fun of Kim himself. Secretly, they're very invested in Kim's career and get very upset on his behalf when he loses.

If I were writing the show, I would make it so only Adrien and Felix were sentis, and the peacock miraculous broke from Emilie misusing it to create them. She created two beings at one time, outside of the traditional way sentis are made, without an amok, so she and Amelie could get pregnant. It doesn't make sense to me that the two of them were pregnant and have amoks for their children, since all other sentis were fully formed, and it would explain how the miraculous broke, which canon fails to answer.

If you have to keep the senti BS, then I think that's a good way to do it. It still blows my mind that canon really said, "Emilie and Gabriel had no idea that using the broken peacock would hurt her! They were so oblivious that they even gave it to Colt to use a second time! (And some random third person since Kagami exists.)"

I don't believe that nonsense for a second because the miraculous aren't just inanimate magical objects that people wield based on external training. They're magical objects that connect you to a magical creature who trains and guides you and that magical creature should know this shit!

The idea that the kwamis wouldn't warn them about the danger of using a broken miraculous only works if Nooroo wasn't around because Duusu was kinda out of it, so I could possibly buy that he wasn't able to warn them. But that fix would imply that Nooroo and Duusu were found at separate times which is nonsense. Why would Gabriel think to go back and look for another miraculous months or even years later? How would he even learn that he'd missed one? He basically had to know that there were two of them right from the start and - if he knew that there were two of them - then why would he grab them one at a time? It's not like archaeological digs or getting to Tibet are simple tasks! And how did they even learn about the miraculous or know where to look? Why use the peacock to make a senti and not the butterfly to heal infertility? I need answers!

This shit is why I'm so annoyed by the play. If you're going to give us backstory that doesn't move the plot forward, then give us backstory that explains all of the plot holes that you keep introducing!!! Don't waste my time with your completely unbelievable humble origins story. I don't love the movie, but it gets full credit for ignoring that nonsense and making Gabriel come from a wealthy family, too.

Anyway, back to the senti stuff.

If you go with the idea that creating real life broke the peacock and also do a variant where the amok was just a womb so the kids are real humans, then that would allow the peacock breaking idea to work without the pesky free will issue. You could also have one of the boys be a real human and the other be a senti. Maybe Adrien is a senti because Emilie didn't want to ruin her figure and Felix is real because Colt didn't care or vise versa with Colt wanting his wife to stay hott and Emilie wanting to experience the magic of childbirth. (I still can't believe that Emilie and Amilie were actually pregnant. If you're going to make a magic baby, then why not skip the life-threatening, body-destroying part?)

I also fully agree that Kagami being a senti only makes sense if they were going to do some big conspiracy plot with all the rich families being involved. Her being a random third senti without some major plot to back it up raises so many questions such as: how did Tomoe get involved with the Agrestes? Why did they break off contact and then reestablish it years later? Was the arranged marriage thing always the plan? If so, then why were Adrien and Kagami raised on different continents? Why did free spirited Emilie agree to this after seeing how unhappy her sister's marriage was? Why didn't Gabriel just use the ring to order Adrien to fall in love with Kagami? Was Adrien supposed to be programmed to love Kagami, but Marinette was similar enough to kick off the programing, making him imprint on the wrong girl? Was Kagami similarly programmed and that's why she latched onto Felix out of nowhere?

Hopefully it's obvious that those final two questions are jokes, but at the same time, I don't think I'd be shocked if they were somehow canon. They make about as much sense as everything else involved with the senti plot.

I feel like the fact that Felix is created from the emotion of jealousy explained his behaviour in his first episode to some extent, the way he impersonated Adrien out of jealousy, because Adrien has friends and crush (which he couldn't has neither of those until the death of Colt, stated in Representation, Colt's has the power to control Felix's feelings whenever he is attached to someone)

Yea, at this point of the plot we can all agree that Adrien is abused by Gabriel, but it was not this worse before Gabriel lose his fricking senses, poor parenting and madness asided, he "loved" Adrien when he obeyed him.

In Felix's eyes, even if he's obeying his father, Colt would just beat him up real bad, both mentally and possibly physically. But Adrien could live under a false impression of love and freedom, was able to express his feelings and bonding with his friends occasionally, NOT knowing the fear that his life is bonded with a fucking ring. BUT still, Adrien did not fight for his authority despite he has much more chance than him (Felix clearly doesn't know Adrien is Chat Noir).

Heck, of course he is jealous.

And while he is created from jealousy, Adrien is possibly created from a more loving and positive emotions, talking about identity crisis.

The core ingredient of his soul, the feeling that he is different from all the other humans, and the difference between him and Adrien, the only one kin he has before Kagami, he is filled with jealousy.

Regardless of all of these, he forms a similar understanding with the sweet boi Adrien about parenting and life.

During Pretension, Felix said "your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover their own meaning to their existence."

During Representation, Adrien/Chat Noir yelled "that have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!"

As in S5 we see Felix is becoming more soft and sentimental towards his mother, duusu, also Kagami, and how Kagami is helping him to trust and works with Labybugs, this boi is growing up form his past, and I can see he is going to be filled with much more joyful emotions other than the jealousy that created him, I think we are all looking forward for these kids' future. They are breaking their parents' curse.

But still, please get them all into group therapy.

So another day, another miraculous ladybug au.

Obviously in canon they made sentimonster children. So I was thinking what would the inverse look like. Sentimonster parents!

After Miracle Queen, Andre and Audrey send Chloe to England to save their own reputations. She ends up at a school where she fights with students. The only reason she hasn’t been expelled from the school county is because Andre and Audrey are paying a lot of money to keep her there. Chloe has a shitty apartment she lives alone in, eventually having a breakdown and cutting her hair. The lessons she only pays attention to are history, English and PE. Felix finds out where she’s living and visits monthly.

after a month Pollen finds out and she is pissed. So she gets Tikki, Plagg, Nooroo and Duusu together to create a plan. The kwamii’s plan you ask? create copies of Chloe’s parents and make them as nice as possible. So Chloe can become better as a person and the bee miraculous holder again. Their amoks are their wedding rings, but Tikki’s involvement means they can’t be snapped out of existence regardless of someone having the miraculous or not. Nooroo is responsible for giving them emotions and pollen helping them with having their own free will. They steal one of Audrey’s many credit cards and just gives them it to buy essential stuff.

because they were created by the kwamii themselves without the miraculous, they look a little off. Audrey’s hair is a little more like a golden brown colour and her eyes are a lot lighter. Like such a light piercing blue everyone thinks she needs contacts. Andre’s eyes end up being hazel and his hair is a light brown. Apart from that they’re the same. Their dress style is more soft so they appear less threatening. SentiAudrey can’t wear heels like regular Audrey, she’s has no balance while wearing them. And SentiAndre can’t see without glasses.

Both of Chloe’s sentiparents are fully aware their only reason for existing is to raise Chloe properly, and they don’t really mind. Their instinct is to protect Chloe, so that’s what they do. They’re nice and gentle, not shouting at her and remembering her name. When Chloe grows up then they can do something they want to do. And to the shock of everyone else, they actually are a loving couple.

Chloe returns to Paris because does miss Adrien and because of the miraculous. Felix remains close with Chloe and visits once a month. Everyone is confused when they see Chloe back with someone who looks like Audrey but has piercing eyes and a hairstyle like Princess Peach’s. Sabine and Tom are the first adults to help them. SentiAudrey becomes a seamstress for Richard Sphinx, who has a competing fashion business to Gabriel. While SentiAndre is the stay at home dad, who likes gardening. Adrien eventually claws his way back into Chloe’s life and they become close friends again. He often stays at Chloe’s just because he’s happy to see her again, as well as it being easier to sneak out for akuma battles. Kagami ends up talking to Chloe through Adrien and they sort of end up falling in love.

SentiAudrey and SentiAndre do choose new names because they want to distance themselves from the people they were created after. I don’t have names for them yet, so suggestions are appreciated.

So out of the seven miraculous fairies in bugettes, which one is your favorite?

In terms of designs, I really like how Lucee came out.

A few times I tried to design a firefly kwami, I never got a design I would say, yes, I am super happy with this, no changes needed. Cause most, you can tell they were a firefly, but I just didn't reach that "I'm satisfied" in terms of design, until I got this going for Lucee.

You can look at her and tell she's a firefly, but with creative liberties, and there's the fun that she's a slight Umbreon reference too with glowing rings.

But in terms of over all, that'd be Pollen. When she was first revealed, she had my favorite design out of all bug kwamis. And may be my favorite design over all (though I also really like Trixx and Duusu too out of the 7).

And then I started my research into bees, their symbolism, mythology, how they appear in different cultures, and I was hit with so much potential and possibilities. There was so much to bees I had to wonder, why was Ladybug even the lead?

Mainly through Europe, bees were tied to...

Prophecy, having bee maidens that have ties to Apollo. The Oracle of Delphi was referred to as the Delphian bee.

Communication and spirituality, pops up in various European cultures, but it was thought that bees could travel to the spirit/otherworld and deliver messages to loved ones who passed on, keep them updated. It was such a tradition it was known as the telling of the bees. This also works off bees tied to community. Bees are also the only insect that domesticated themselves because they saw merit in working with humans, but they will straight up unionize and leave if they have an unfit beekeeper.

Bees in general were tied to Creation, Life, and Healing...

As bees are heavily tied to plants, probably the most iconic of pollinators, so there could've been a power related to plant manipulation, maybe even talking with plants too. Plants are a must for us all to live so bees are vital to keep in our life.

Bees make honey which can be consumed for healing.

Bees having the ability to mass restore feels natural given their healing and organized role.

Additionally, bees exist in a hive, having bug numbers, easily could've had the cloning power instead of Mouse, may even make more sense as presumably all clones work off a "hive mind" to secure they work for the same agenda. Which can work off bees tied to team work.

And there was just so much diversity in what bees could do, there's a lot of promise in their potential, so canon's route for Pollen's personality and power was a HUGE disappointment. All of these potential options and you go for the bee sting and eager servant bee, who are the ones who run the hive more than the actual queen bee (and will execute her if she's not a good queen).

I also didn't like the change to Pollen's eyes, I get it's more expressive to have pupils and irises, but like, why choose yellow irises? It's too much yellow. I think the dark blue against light blue would've been better, which is what I usually do when portraying Pollen.

So Bee over all is probably my fav, just by the sheer potential and diversity it can offer, and I like the themes and lessons it could've brought. Bee I now think is potentially could've been one of the better lead Miraculous to follow, and I just can't get over it's potential. One of the biggest missed opportunities I think.

It depends on if you want to go by a strict gift basis or personality. Some of those aren't exclusive though-

TLDR-

Julieta- Wayzz, Alma- Nooroo or Liiri, Pepa- Daizzi/Longg, Bruno- Sass or Tikki, Felix- Diazzi, Augustin- Kalkki, Isabela- Pollen, Dolores- Longg or Barkk, Luisa- Pollen & Duusu, Camilo- Pollen, Antonio- Duusu/unclear, and Mirabel- any of them really.

Bonus Turtle Julieta who didn't make it into AVB- Her name is Hicotea

Julieta for example I think would do well with the turtle both because it's the closest to her gift (since besides the ladybug there isn't a healing power) and I think she and Wayzz would get along well.

Alma would theoretically either have the butterfly (Matriarch deal) or the Ladybug and Cat. But I don't think she'd get along with any of the kwamis very well. Maybe Liiri, but she'd not here.

Pepa would power wise have the dragon, and I think in personality it fits okay. But I would personally either give her Wayzz or Daizzi. Possibly also Orikko.

Bruno would have either Fluff or Sass based on his gift and I think he'd get along with both. I also think he and Tikki would get along (hence Cochineal) and Plagg would have a similar dynamic with him that he does with Adrien, albeit less parental/familial, more platonic. I think he and Mullo would also get along.

Felix would get along with Daizzi, Ziggy, or Orikko. All three seem to thrive on holders with high energy and positive attitude

Augustin could do well with Wayzz and possible Kaalki, since she's probably help with his clumsiness through sheer determination. As well as Stompp who would go "Fuck it, lets just throw shit." I gave him Sass in AVB since I figured he'd be willing to try a million times to get it right, but its not my fist pick.

Isabela would probably do best with Pollen, both because haha Bee, but also- Pollen is a very loyal bee. She calls Isabela her queen but if her queen wants to throw color bombs and do fancy acrobatics with vines? Bravo! Keep going. I stand by the idea that Isabela and Longg could never really get along. Second choices would be Xuppu or Trixx since they'd encourage her to have fun but Trixx for sure would not let her get away with being bitchy. Tikki would also probably do her good.

Dolores could still do well with Mullo at the best of times but I'd be more inclined to give her Pollen, Longg, or Barkk. Pollen and Long would be very respectful of her sensitive hearing while still helping push her, and Barkk would bite anyone being too loud. She is very loyal. Dolores would probably also do well with Plagg for the simple fact he is high demand for food, but very apathetic the rest of the time.

Luisa would match with Roaar in terms of gifts but personality wise I think Pollen, Duusu, Kalkki, or Barkk. With I think Pollen or Duusu being the strongest two.

Camilo would match with Trixx for powers but I wasn't kidding in A Lawless Cat when I said I thought he'd make a good Bee. They're leaders and need to hold attention, but can get in a good sting if you turn your back. Other pick would be Orikko.

Antonio I think does well with the Peacock but otherwise he's a bit to young to know what other miraculous he would thrive with. His compassion would potentially also do well with the butterfly.

And now Mirabel, the character who i think has the widest picks.

Sticking to Cannon Encanto Mirabel I still think she'd have the widest variety. Obviously Nooroo is the top pick, Mirabel likes to help people but most of the time she's teaching them to help themselves first. Even to her own detriment. I think she and Tikki would thrive as two creative spirits, same with Ziggy. Her compassion and good understanding of feelings and others, would make her do well with Duusu. Plagg would encourage ehr to fight for herself, Liiri would want her to break free. Xuupu, Trixx, Orikko, and Diazzi would help her bring fun back into her life as well as spread her strengths to others. She's intuitive enough to work well with Sass, Roarr would push her to take power into her hands and be heard. Stompp would teach her to defend herself. The only kwami I think she wouldn't get on perfectly with is Longg, but even then it wouldn't be particularly bad. It's just that- Mirabel has specifically gone her whole life seeing herself as Imperfect which would strain her connection to him.

Okay! This episode was A LOT.

Well there is no denying Sentimonster theory. Its confirmed. Its done. 100% GUARANTEE NO MONEY BACK.

It did explain a LOT about Felix and Adrien.

So I am still iffy on how it was handled.

Now this DOES NOT justify Felix's Actions. He was still an a**hole. And Kagami shouldnt have told Felix. Marinette is Ladybug. That was NOT her secret to tell.

BUT the play that explained what happened was very well done. It explained a LOT about the Graham de Vanily family and Felix's a**hole father.

I will say that I hated how tortured Marinette was during this. Felix and Kagami could have done something less cruel to lure her there.

I also greatly enjoyed Chat noir vs Nightormentor. very good catharsis and we have Adrien going through some additional mental trauma, inflicted by his father (I wouldnt call it Ironic, more of EXPECTED)

I give it 7.5/10

I will say its the most I have enjoyed the second half of this season since Emotion.

Inuyasha And Miraculous

Inuyasha and Miraculous Ladybug are my two favorite romances, but I think they could be combined together well.

We could have Chat Noir a half-demon (we're going with démon because this isnt Japanese anymore) who's been trapped for 50 years to a tree by an arrow by his ex-girlfriend Kagami for trying to steal her Ladybug Miraculous freed by her reincarnation Marinette, who now has the Miraculous. And he is forced to help her retrieve the other Miraculous so she can get back home.

He's drawn to her for the same reason he can't bring himself to get close, she reminds him of Kagami, except, unlike Kagami, she's practically defenseless, and while she draws, she prefers fashion instead of live action.

Marinette on the other hand, is drawn to Chat Noir because he's her protector. He's unique and different. She likes that protective animalistic part of him. She likes the puns and the jokes, but his sensitive, "perfect" side on the full moon while he's Adrien confuses her.

Kagami is resurrected early on, driving Marinette to insecurity, and conflicting Chat because before she trapped him, she loved him. But Kagami only loved his human half, that's what she encouraged, not his chaotic side, so ultimately Chat would choose Marinette who loves the side he feels the most comfortable with

Chloe would be a bratty bee-demon child who thinks she's a princess and demands people do what she says or face paralysis. She's actually 100 years old, but still a baby. Her parents abandoned her, and she's missing her sister who's been adopted by another hive.

Alya would be a demon hunter who's missing her twin sisters. They're resurrected via Miraculous and will die if they lose them.

Nino is a water mage who can make shields, but can't move very well once they're activated. He likes Alya, but he's too shy to say anything. He secretly spends a little bit of his life force everytime he shields and worries about his mortality often. Especially since his shields are so powerful and are often a first line of defense.

Felix is Chat Noir's full demon brother, and he's constantly followed around by the bird demon Duusu. Hes cold at first but has a redemption arc after adopting Manon, a sweet little girl whose mother was consumed by an akuma.

Speaking of which, Akuma are humans consumed by the Butterfly wielding Hawkmoth, Adrien’s human father (he doesn't know). He corrupts mortals and makes them forget their past lives in a fruitless attempt to fulfill a wish.

These are the akumas and along with the wielders, they are the foes for the series.

Is Adrien a senti ?

To be honest?? I’m not sure yet. Part of me wants to keep the base lore that he (and Felix) probably are created by the peacock miraculous, but I don’t want them to be like the sentimonsters in this AU. They’re far too complex individuals.

Like I’ve said before, I kinda hate the peacock miraculous’ powers and how it borders creation - which is just Ladybug’s powers. But I also like the duality of Adrien realizing he killed his mom by being born and why it’s so hard for him to identify love. I just dislike that being a sentimonster would kind of block out the idea that his behavior is a trauma response and not just because he’s forced to be a certain way. And it’s way too similar to Felix’s backstory.

I want Felix and Adrien’s origins to be different. If Adrien was created by the Peacock, here’s how it would have to work:

Emillie is wearing the peacock miraculous, still unsure how exactly it works. She wants a child so desperately, so strongly, that inadvertently, in a fit of hopeless desperation, she willed Duusu(1) to use her powers to help her conceive a child. Unable to resist the pull Emillie had, and with the power of her desire for fertility, Duusu and Emillie created an egg inside of her(2). Emillie didn’t know what she had done until she became pregnant. Did she conceive naturally or did she create what was inside of her? If she created it, where was the amuk?

She didn’t realize it, but her actions caused a small crack to appear on the miraculous. (3)

For Felix’s creation, the story would follow the same rules. His father, learning the theory about how Emillie was able to become pregnant, and wanted to try it for himself. Like Emillie, he tried to will Duusu to grant him a child, but his desire was different than hers(4). He didn’t desire to have a child, he wanted a heir - a trophy. The creation of this child was different than with Emillie. It was bred upon jealousy— a jealousy this child would carry with him about the Agrestes for a reason unknown to him. But he was still part human- it was just the other part of him that held an uncontrollable desire for blood.(5)

With this second child, the Miraculous broke a little bit more — stealing the price to pay for the children that they wanted. A body for a body, soul for a soul.

(1) We have seen previously that Gabriel can take Nuuroo’s ability to speak away and permit him to leave his side — theorizing that if her will is strong enough, Emillie and Duusu can use Duusu’s crazed ability and use the miraculous for something that it’s not supposed to be used for— creation

(2) A human egg to be fertilized — thus why Adrien would only be part-sentimonster but a real boy with real trauma responses

(3) This would explain why Emillie and Colt died so slowly — because now that the miraculous is fully broken, it affects Nathalie a little bit more (plus the fact that she uses it multiple times)

(4) Emilie’s child was borne from love, and Amillie’s - jealousy. These boys would be only part sentimonster — but this part of them would feed into their thoughts and emotions. For Adrien, he would always regard people adoration, no matter how they treated him; he thought people were inherently good. For Felix, he would learn that he hated his cousin’s family; and that the people were inherently bad.

(5) to answer your question, I think that if they are Sentimonsters, they would only be half. Sort of like being psychotic and having a second voice in your head telling you things. You can choose to ignore it, or give into the urges. Felix would have to fight with homicidal/hate-filled ideations because of this, and Adrien would have to learn how to know what true love is and what is simply adoration — I think this fits with their behaviors in the show right?

Also, dancing around the idea that Felix kills his dad on his death bed. He definitely deserves it

Now that I’ve written it, I actually really like the idea that I just came up with — lil mutant babies with lil psychotic voices in their heads. Thoughts?

Breakfast with a stranger

Thanks to his karate skills, Felix was able to knock his cousin unconscious.

As they are eating lunch after Kagami was reunited with Tomoe, Gabriel breaks in the bad news about the move to London

Felix: Adrien would be heartbroken if he knew the truth, uncle.

Nathalie and Gabriel stand up. “Felix!”

Felix holds up a finger. “Do you really want to make a scene to draw Ladybug to your own house again? She is ever so keen to confront Monarch, even more than me now.”

Nathalie: what do you want? Where is Adrien?

Felix: sleeping. And soon, he’ll be free of the both of you. I’m aware that you still have parental authority over Adrien, but if you’re in prison, I believe custody goes over to my mother. Especially since Nathalie doesn’t have long to live either.

Gabriel: then why haven’t you reported me in?

Felix: for some reason, Adrien actually loves you. But if you were to send him away from his girlfriend, I imagine he’ll get over your secret identity.

Gabriel: blackmail

Felix: you have such little time left uncle, try not to waste it making Adrien hate you.

Gabriel looked down and was shocked to see one of his gloves missing, exposing his blackened hand, without the rings.

Felix held them up. “It’s a pity I can’t save the kwamis too. But this will have to do.”

Gabriel: how dare you! Everything I am doing is to save your aunt and Nathalie.

Felix: you could have just gone back in time and fixed the broken peacock miraculous.

Nathalie: thank you! See he gets it!

Gabriel bared his teeth. “I will think on it.”

Felix: see that you do. Duusu, spread my feathers.

Gabriel slams the table in anger and calls Tomoe to report Felix’s threat.

Tomoe: get Ladybug and Chat Noir’s miraculous and it won’t matter because then we will win the war

Meanwhile, Argos visits Marinette and asks her to give Adrien his amok back in disguise so Gabriel can’t demand it back

Marinette asks why she would ever trust him.

Argos gives her Monarch’s stolen rings. “Is making his future akumas less powerful enough? Even if you don’t want to help me, we both want set Adrien free. These rings literally contain Adrien’s free will.”

Marinette sinks as the reality sets in. “Adrien is a sentimonster?”

Argos: please don’t call us that.

Marinette: sorry.

She looks down at the ring. “I’ll…do it. But only because Kagami recommended I give you a second chance if I should see you again.”

Felix smiles. “she really is special.”

Adrien happily wears his new ring and tells Marinette his father gives them his blessing.

Why does the fandom think Nathalie cares about Adrien? She's always all monotone indifference and "this is what your father says/wants". Yet the fandom likes leaving Adrien in her care post-hawkmoth sometimes? If you're really gonna read into things like that let's praise the one adult who DOES care about him- his bodyguard! Remember how the mere sight of him was enough to calm him down enough to thwart Hawkmoth's intentions in the gigantitan episode?

But no seriously I'm so bad at noticing these things- why do people think she cares about more than Gabriel?

Welp, she is the reason Gabriel let Adrien go to school according to Origins Part 2, and then we got the Great Hiatus to let that one tiny moment of feelings sit and fester in the fandom brain.

And Season 5 definitely did it's hardest to frame Nathalie as Here For Adrien, so it's like the whole series is bookended by That version of Nathalie.

But I get the confusion, Nathalie's been all over the damn place. Different Seasons characterize her almost like adjacent sister versions of herself? Like not a TOTALLY different person, but different enough that I'm worried about body snatchers lol. I pretty much compartmentalize Nathalie according to the season:

Season 1 - Belligerent Assistant who's job description does not and should not include taking care of her boss's son yet here she freaking is.

Season 2 - Reveal that she's totally In-The-Know, her indifference has reached knew levels of being just outright negligent, she is officially culpable.

Season 3 - Team Rocket era where she is fully into the evil dramatics. Also the gross fun addition of her officially being In Love™️with her boss and being angsty about it despite her bringing it upon herself. Also girl he's so crusty get some standards.

Season 4 - Bedridden bionic woman. Was it worth it? WAS IT WORTH IT?!

Season 5 - Pissed off divorcee era. She is actively picking fights and weaponizing the children at her not-ex, and while I'm side eyeing the last 4 seasons, I am here for this level of sass while she scoffs at Gabriel being his Worst Self™️. Too bad about the whole Dying thing but hey. You gotta make up for...all of that other stuff, right?

She's just kinda doomed to not be a cohesive character. I do like her heel turn in Season 5, especially because she was RIGHT, Gabriel had THE OPPORTUNITY to save not only Emilie but also Nathalie and threw it away because he wants to throw hands with teenagers. I too would walk away after that spectacular display of failure. I kinda wish she had someone to talk to, like even Duusu, just to explain that the only reason she hasn't exposed Gabriel altogether is because he'd definitely expose her as well and then Adrien'd be left alone. Like it's easy to infer that, but in a kids show, stuff like motivations kinda need to be laid out neatly.

Cuz otherwise it leaves it open ended - is she covering to spare Adrien from being essentially orphaned, or is she covering to save her own ass? After the 5ish versions of her, either interpretation is fair.

3. a character that fandom has helped you appreciate

I have two of these, both of whom I blame Nina for. Luka and Nino.

I came to my love of Nino late and slow. But now that I love him, he's everything. Adrien's most Loyal Knight in shining headphones. I just adore the way they vibe, and some of the subtle background things you can get out of Nino.

Luka I always sort of liked, but I really think I 'saw' him in season five and Nina def helped me really dig in an appreciate him.

I have so many of these, with my close friends being the most obvious.

@ninadove for being just the nicest. The fluff writer amidst all the tragedy. She's really just the sweetest and the best person you could ask for to look over things in need of a polish. She also puts up with me asking her at like 2am "Is this a normal French thing" and I find that very sweet of her. I have also done a deep southern accent for her to pay her back for her valuable French knowledge, but nothing can compare.

@bittersweetresilience Fellow darkfic writer and reader. Also just one of the nicest people I have ever met. Sun is the best. They keep us organized, and rioting in the right direction for sure. We would be lost and adrift without their skills at herding a basket of wild ferrets.

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

These are both characters. Nooroo and Amelie. Nooroo is the best little guy and was active around the time Adrien was born. (So was Duusu, but I feel like Fandom has come to love Duusu) Which means he was likely around when Adrien was a baby and Adrien was made to forget. Probably so he'd stop asking about the little Fairy. Also nooroo needs THERAPY. Poor lil guy.

I need everyone to love and appreciate Amelie. not only has she been through shit, but she and Felix are each other's best friends and in a series like Miraculous when so many parents SUCK. (Looking at ALL OF YOU) knowing that in the Agreste and GDF fail parenting there was one good parent is my shining light.

Love At First Sight - Bonus (Sorta)

While writing LAFS I had one question that kept popping up in my mind: “Is Felix going to be Argos in this? Does he have the Peacock miraculous?” Ultimately, I decided it would make the story too long and complicated to add that tidbit in. This bonus is what I think would happen if Argos was involved in this plotline. It can be read by itself or in tandem, it's sorta related and unrelated at the same time. Enjoy!

It had been about an hour since the akuma attack was resolved and Felix had confessed. He had not expected a reply nor a change in their dynamic to come from this…it just felt like the right time to finally tell her. It felt good to clearly state his feelings. Marinette, in her typical fashion, had stuttered and made excuses before hurriedly leaving. He had wanted to walk her home – since school was canceled for the rest of the day – but he held back the offer. Having known her for a while, he knew and could sense that her reaction was not borne from a dislike of him but rather of her own anxieties. If the emotions he sensed while she blushed and babbled were any indication, he dared hope that his feelings might actually have a chance to be returned… She just needed time to process, he would gladly give it to her. However, he still felt a need to check on her to be sure that she was safe. Today had been a traumatic experience after all, and he would be damned if Gabriel would take advantage of her lingering emotional state to akumatize her!

“Are we going to go check on your hen, Felix?” The peacock kwami giggled, flying about in a figure eight with excitement.

“We shall, just to be sure she’s alright. Duusu, spread my feathers!”

With a flash of blue, he stood transformed before his bedroom mirror. An unusual wave of nervousness came over him as he regarded his reflection. She had seen him dressed like this before, but he now felt worried what she would think of his miraculous suit. ‘She’s a designer…’ he thought to himself as he tugged at his hood and gloves as if trying to make himself more presentable. He felt like a bird attempting to preen their feathers in a way to attract a mate. He definitely blamed Duusu for this. He felt ridiculous. Taking one last look in the mirror as he attempted to smooth down the front, he steeled himself. ‘I’m just going to check on her. This isn’t a social call.’

He exited his bedroom window and ran along the rooftops. He paused when he came to the road in which she had been knocked over. Remembering the powerful desire to protect as her emotions went haywire – panic, fear, and concern – for him. It rolled off her like gentle waves in a low tide lagoon, gently plucking every heartstring in his chest. And the emotions of her new ‘admirer’ – unadulterated lust – had driven away his usual restraint against gross physical harm. The relief and amazement he felt from her after had been reward enough. But then he had had to carry her…his palms on her bare skin…he had felt his own emotions as high as hers in that moment!

Argos dragged a gloved hand down his reddened face at the memory before taking off again. Trying to clear his mind, he worked through the rest of the morning. After being shook free from the emotional overload in the classroom by her cry of pain, he immediately ran interference to delay the other idiots attempting to grab Marinette again. It was not much but Felix was sure it gave the two girls enough time to find a suitable place to hide. Then he sensed it… The terrifying fear and panic as she had huddled under that desk – so palpable that he could identify it even from down the hallway, like a thick miasma that threatened to choke him. Felix had known immediately who it was from. Marinette’s emotions, regardless of what she felt, were always tinged with a sweet aura all their own; almost like a pheromone that could only be felt rather than experienced by the traditional five senses. A sweetness that had drawn him in since that night at the Diamond Dance and led to his flimsy excuses to be included in their class, regardless of the danger he was putting himself in. Being exposed to it every day, his own affections had naturally grown for the girl…

However, in that moment, all he had wanted was to comfort her. He had lied about seeing Césaire leave the classroom, knowing the thought of Monarch being able to sense her emotions would have put her into a more destructive spiral. When Marinette had explained about the akuma and how she thought his own reaction was caused by it, his heart had thudded painfully in his chest. He had mentally cursed Gabriel; knowing his feelings were genuine but she would never believe his sincerity while this akuma was in play. At least he had an excuse to treat her as he truly wanted. Illogical as it was, this akuma attacking his crush suddenly felt personal and it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Perhaps it was time to trade sides? Could he even be a hero? Ladybug seemed the understanding sort, but he had betrayed her before…would she trust him enough to let him work beside her again?

He would have to find a way, for Marinette.

“No wonder Duusu laughs at me… She’s not even mine and I’m already henpecked,” Argos mused quietly.

He landed on top of the scaffolding that wrapped around the scorched roof of Norte Dame and gazed down Rue Gotlib toward the bakery she called home. His heart flipped in his chest as he realized he could make out the barest hint of the fairy lights she had strung up on her balcony. He took a steadying breath, reminding himself that he was only there to pass by without being seen and prepared to leap to the next rooftop. Just then, a flash of familiar red appeared in his peripherals. He turned toward the north, seeing the hazy shape of Ladybug swinging in his direction.

Argos paused and decided this was likely the best time to make contact, to make his new objectives known to the hero – no akumas and without her timer running down. Perhaps without that mangey cat that always ruffled his feathers! Even when he held the Dog miraculous briefly, something about Chat Noir just did not sit right with Felix. Perhaps it was the blond hair? Was a side effect of the black cat miraculous the human equivalent of dander? He shook his head free of such thoughts. The purple suited villain shifted and leaped, taking a route further away from his original goal. Argos knew when he was spotted – the red figure stopped and took up a defensive stance – and slowed his approach to seem less threatening. He needed this to go well.

However, as he landed at the opposite end of the large rooftop, Argos paused and narrowed his eyes. This was not Ladybug!

“Who the hell are you? Where is Ladybug?” He pulled out his fan, holding it like a weapon at rest to not agitate the person in front of him but allowing him the easy access to fight should he need it. The red-spotted stand-in’s eyes flashed and narrowed – he wished the miraculous cloaking allowed him to clearly read her emotions. Instead, he could only glean what he could from her body language and the muted, muddled sensations that danced just out of reach.

“The name’s Scarabella. Let’s just say that the Lady was preoccupied,” she replied coolly.

“So it was your incompetence I should blame for all the time it took to defeat the akuma today,” he scoffed. Marinette had to suffer for hours while this… this…knock-off hero took the reins? What had Ladybug been thinking?!

Scarabella’s spine straightened with a snap, he didn’t need to see her eyes to know that the hazy emotion he was sensing was scorching anger. “Excuse me? This coming from a villain that betrayed us and all of Paris – scratch that, betrayed the world – and for what? So you could dress up like some reject popinjay to dance around on rooftops and make people disappear?”

Argos winced; this was not how he wanted this to go. He sighed and tucked his fan into his hood. “Look, when I saw someone else wearing the mantle…I reacted wrong. I assume you have some way to contact her? Or her kwami could? I need to speak with her.”

Suspicious eyes narrowed upon him, “What is the message?”

“I won’t say, I have no idea who you are or how close to all this you are. Just let her know that I mean no harm. She can even bring that damn cat, if she so pleases.” Argos’ lips pulled back into a snarl, not disguising his distaste for the other half of the Parisian hero team. “I just need to speak with her on a miraculous matter.”

Scarabella regarded him with narrowed eyes for a silent moment before her body shifted into a more relaxed posture, her arms crossing her chest as she leaned back on her heels. “Fine. I’ll let LB know. I can’t promise that she’ll meet you. She’s been far more cautious since your...incident.”

“Understood, I expected nothing less.” He placed a foot on the edge of the roof, turning his body back from whence he came while keeping his eyes on the temporary bug. A wicked grin split his face. “Oh, and don’t bother following me unless you want to chase after one of my creations tonight.”

He heard a scandalized noise as he launched himself from the roof. He had a fair maiden to check on.

It didn’t take Argos long to make it back to Rue Gotlib and settle in on a rooftop adjacent to the bakery, hiding himself in the long shadows cast by the dying light. Being especially cautious, he pulled his hood forward to hide his magenta eyes as he gazed into her bedroom window hoping for a glimpse of the young designer. She wandered into his field of view, he felt his heart dance around in his chest – Marinette’s hair was down, her face washed clean of the little makeup she normally wore, and she took up lounging on her chaise as she sketched in her pajamas. She was stunning! He reached out with his senses and immediately met her emotions – the sweet aura wrapping around his consciousness like a blanket and the peacock holder involuntarily smiled. “I’m really a goner, aren’t I, Duusu?” He whispered to himself, knowing the kwami would find this hilarious later.

He watched as she flexed her toes, bobbing her head to a tune he couldn’t hear from his vantage point, her lips mouthing words he wished he could hear. Argos probed a bit further with his powers to gauge her emotional state: peace, joy, calm, with a hint of nervousness. His smile turned fond. ‘That’s my girl, never letting a thing weigh her down for long…’

Argos heard the familiar sound of a yo-yo and he pressed himself further into his shadow as he looked around for the source. Suddenly Scarabella appeared flipping over the back of the roof and landed onto Marinette’s balcony. He felt the bluenette’s curiosity followed by her happiness as she bounced up and shut her curtains. He narrowed his eyes, watching the spotted stand-in duck through a trapdoor and into the confines of Marinette’s bedroom, then observed a pink flash filter through the opaque material of the curtains.

‘Do Scarabella and Marinette know each other?’ he wondered, filtering through the emotions flowing from the building for any threat. He watched with confusion as the side door of the bakery apartment opened silently and Césaire exited, looking both ways before running down a neighboring alleyway. ‘Was she…Scarabella? What does Marinette have to do with this?’ A sinking sensation formed in his stomach.

He ran down a few rooftops before crossing the street and circling back to the balcony from behind, keeping himself hidden. Argos listened and watched as the bluenette came up to the balcony to watch the waning sunset turn to dusk, murmuring quietly to herself or perhaps on the phone? The blond felt as if there was a riddle here that he needed an answer to… Bracing himself, he leaped one last time and landed on the balcony behind Marinette – who jumped and spun around to face him. “Argos?!” He felt a wave of worry and nervousness overcome the girl; her body shook from the sheer force of the panic that was rising.

Mentally cursing himself for ruining the calm she had finally achieved and unsure of how to proceed, he made a flamboyant bow. “Evening, Marinette! I thought I heard a bug buzzing about and found you instead… mind if I rest my feathers upon your lovely roost?”

Confusion.

Worry.

Nervousness.

Paranoia.

…and, beneath all that, a hint of something warmer.

Argos straightened with a smile he hoped was disarming – Adrien was always much better at putting people at ease than Felix – and observed her. ‘No phone. Then who was she talking to?’ His magenta eyes flickered over the rooftop with interest, pretending to assess the decorations in the space while he looked for any pets or god-like beings…he found none. “Beautiful space you have here. Very cozy.” Keeping his posture relaxed, he stepped closer to the bluenette by the balcony rail.

“Oh, heh, thank you. I like to come up here to design and relax, you know?” He watched as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, exposing her earlobes. Earlobes that sported familiar dark colored earrings.

His mind flashed back to this morning with a more discerning eye. He remembered pulling the silky threads of her hair back into a braid, exposing the nape of her neck and ears…. which were conspicuously free of earrings, and he froze for a moment as his eyes widened slightly. Puzzle pieces started to click into place in his mind. ‘No…it couldn’t be…’

Clearing his throat, he smiled and motioned towards her ears. “Pretty earrings, are they a family heirloom?” A fresh spike of panic lanced into him so quickly that he physically winced. That was confirmation enough. His heart sank as he recalled what he had done to the heroine…who he now knew was his beloved. He, Felix Fathom, was the cause of her grief and suffering. He had betrayed the one person he treasured most. ‘Duusu, what have I done?’ The guilt, which rose like bile in his throat, solidified his decision.

“Ye-yes, how’d you know?” Marinette’s voice was jittery and nervous. He’d play along for now as he processed this information.

“Just a guess. You never take them off.” He replied, leaving the except for earlier today to himself. Argos felt her panic ebb with a thin thread of relief. “Honestly, I came here to check on you after the akuma today…” he spoke softly as he looked towards the horizon. Curiosity. Relief. The hint of warmth was back too.

“O-oh… Fel—ah, Argos, you didn’t need to do that. I appreciate your concern though…” He didn’t need to read her emotions to know that she was embarrassed and blushing. His cheeks felt a bit warm too.

“As you know, you mean a lot to me.” Argos turned towards her again, their eyes meeting silently. His voice dropped to a whisper and he reached up to cup her cheek, basking in the warmth of her skin through the magical material. “I wanted – no, needed – to talk to you. After what happened today, I realized I could no longer stand on the sidelines… My priorities and goals have changed. I can no longer play the villain while those I care the most about are caught in the crossfire...”

“What…what are you saying?” Surprise, shock, and hope edged out the lingering nervousness.

Argos’ magenta eyes glowed as he smirked, “I’m saying that I’m on your side, my Lady.”

Marinette’s eyes grew wide, her conflicting emotions ran the gambit so quickly that he struggled to pick up even one in the tidal wave of input as it crashed over him. However, what he did pick up gave him hope: relief and, trailing behind the wave, a hint of pure joy. From the edges of his vision a little red kwami peeked out of a nearby flower planter, impossibly big eyes filled with hope. Felix dropped his transformation and leaned in close, never letting his eyes leave her bluebells as the smirk grew into a teasing smile.

“Does this mean I can have that kiss now?”
