I've been looking through all the fandom spaces, but I've seen no one mentioning this: in the scene where Ashley says the correct sentence, the one that Andrew remembers, look closely.

That's not child Ashley, that's current Ashley with child Ashley's attire. She's wearing Leyley's clothes and the hairpins, but it's current Ashley's face with her characteristic pony tail, and it's her adult body.

I've been wondering about the symbolism behind this since I first played and saw it...

About Andrew's nightmare/memory sequence, did anyone notice the changing of the name-tag from Leyley to Ashley happening during it?

Their kid selves are named Andy and Leyley respectivelly, but that changes when Leyley starts breaking off her original words into a random pro-parenticide (or parricide whatever) monologue. We know that's because it's actually Ashley's voice whispering to him in his sleep influencing his recollection of events. Makes sense, it's a very Ashley thing to do. However when I was rewatching that part I noticed that it happened way earlier too:

This was near the start of the memory. And know that Andrew is currently asleep. If everytime the name-tag goes from Leyley to Ashley implies that her actual voice is weaving itself into his recollection unconsciously, did she genuinely try to wake him up at first before deciding that gaslighting him in his sleep was more effective to get him willing to sacrifice their parents? How long was she just chilling there doing that??

Anyway. Because I'm good at missing things the first time around that detail flew over my head completely til now so I decided to post this. Just found it kinda funny.

why are conversations about sidon so predominant when the narrative of totk is so clearly putting more focus on zelda. can she have one thing im begging here

thank god im not the only one. christ. like i feel like the only thing sidon has going for him is that he's a hot man. his story is like. fairly straightforward 'i had a family member who died and i am grieving her' which like. multiple other characters in botw had. i would argue that the other champions in botw had more interesting stories than him (riju's struggles to lead her people at age FOURTEEN, teba fighting for his son and the future of his family, etc etc.) sidon isn't a BAD character by any means but he wasn't a GREAT character either and i NEVER saw any chemistry between him and link. 90% of what people seem to like about him is just. fanon shit. can we please just drop him and talk about women for once i am begging

Guys guys guys guys. Guys. Stay with me on this one, I know I keep rambling about merlin but like. Do you get it that merlin doesn't have any memory of when they were a kid..... Like childhood?? Na-da, who's the closest parental figure they have?? Dunno, do they ever have a family before they got the title merlin?? Would that be fucking awful if they did but their whole bloodline just dies after war or something. It's been centuries, there are countless of ancient tablets or ruins with historical events and some of it highlighting merlin great deeds, heroic myths, but none about their family. None about who they were before merlin.

Anyways, being of a star or not, immortal or not, he's just a pure enigma, a tragic one too, not a god, not a demigod, not a mytics, not even a human. But is so tragically humane and warmth, and oh so alone.

Okay but. Isn't main character and certified good guy Hank hating androids such a deranged plot beat? I mean bc the whole game is trying to set up this objectively bad parallel between androids and real life ethnic segregation (which is so insane bc androids are actually manmade objects who genuinely don't feel emotions unless caused for a glitch like you cannot compare real minorities to that David Cage you need to be put down like a rabid dog) so him like. Having a much of stickers going FUCK ANDROIDS is like, so fucking awful? The whole framing too like Connor, an Android and in this case a minority, having to give up on his very own responsibilities just to look after and make this guy who is constantly physically violent like him otherwise he's a bad guy for it? Like I know Hank plays up his hate way more than he really feels but with this very obvious allegory it just becomes so uncomfortable that this is the good guy (tm). Like I love Hank this isn't against Hank this is against Cage and whoever let him write this too like Jesus Christ man.

totk really is one of those games that make me go "ok thanks for the characters, setting, and general plot, but ill take it from here <3" because the entire historical timeline had so much potential for interesting and nuanced story telling but they just went with the old zelda story formula and YES thats how theyve always done it but botw was such a reset in terms of gameplay that they couldve overhauled how they handle story in totk. but they didnt

The ending of totk was something I knew I was gonna be disappointed with but man I wish Zelda wasnt "cured" at the end :/ I knew it was coming cos the ham fisted need for a happy ending. But either way the idea of Ganon and the royal family being each other's demise in the end and having the average citizen of Hyrule needing to pick up the pieces themselves. Each nation dissolving themselves from being under hyrule's banner would've been so cool. But bleh get a Luke warm happy ending 😭

You want to throw up.") mixed with the vibes and overall message of the song Melomeloid and like, I wanna write it but at the same time I'm not yet well equipped to write something Like That so it'll just continue spinning in the microwave for now.
