5 times Iida was tickled and the one time he wasn’t.
[PART ONE]
[PART TWO]
Kanene’s note: Heyaaa! Okay, I just want you to know that I am WEAK for b-day tickles ! It's just so cute and :'3 *whispering softly* truly precious. Oh, Tenya is 12 years old now! Y a y

* This characters don’t belongs to me! They all belong to the anime/manga Boku no Hero.
* This is a SFW tickle fanfic with family tickles, so, if you don’t appreciate this kind of content, please, look for another blog. There are a plenty of very greeat arts in this site!! ^w^)b
* This is Lee!Tenya with Ler!Hizashi + Ler!Aizawa with brief Ler!Tensei and Lee!Aizawa. All relationships are platonic. Around 1.800 words.
* Sorry for any spelling, pontuation and grammar mistakes! Any and every advice is very very welcome! \(-w-)/
* Allow yourself to have a slow day. Don’t forget to drink water, sleep and eat! <33
[~*~]
Iida drank a second cup of his special orange juice - used only on commemorative days and events - thoughtfully. His birthday party would be late in the evening and, since his family wanted to make it a surprise, he would spend the whole day hanging out with his brother, Aizawa-san and Hizashi-san until all the preparations would be complete. He, of course, offered himself to help with all the decorations, but his parents were firm on their decision and Tenya would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited to have some quality time with his brother and the other two heroes. Their work usually demanded a lot of their time.
Still locked on his thoughts, as the doorbell rang, the teenager opened the door without a second thought in a polite stance, being rudely pulled out of his own mind as he stared at Aizawa and Hizashi, both with dangerous smirks that suddenly filled Iida with clear memories of a tradition Tensei started on the boy’s birthday and his ‘uncles’ (Tenya one day protested at the nickname, pointing it didn’t make sense call them like that because they aren’t blood related. However, his parents explained that this was just a way to express fondness and closeness for someone you care about. The younger one began to call them uncles with more frequency, except on social gatherings) caught on it as well.
“Hello! ~” Hizashi chipped, making goosebumps run down his spine as Iida closed the door on their face, internally wincing at the clear disrespectful act, however valuing much more his safety than being a polite host.
(But, actually, he wasn’t truly anxious about it. They were always nice and kind with him, making him smile and enjoy himself, even when he wasn’t the perfect model he struggled to be.)
Tensei’s head peaked from the second living room’s hall as he dashed at full speed across it, accompanying his baby bro with ease and drops of confusion. “Who was it at the door?”
“Uncles!” Tenya frowned in concentration as he turned the corner, lowering his speed enough to not go face first on the wall, cheeks slightly red and sputtering starting to become present on his tune. “They are going to do that hideous tr-tradition you started when I was a kid!” And Iida Tenya, future hero from a whole noble ancestry of skilled heroes, definitely did NOT pout at his brother’s carefree laughter.
“Oh, yeah! I forgot about that! It’s so polite of them to help me to remember, don’t you think?”
“No!! It’s not polite! High level heroes like you shouldn’t be committing such embarrassing, hideous act in the first place, even less repeating it yearly!!”
“Aww, you’re repeating your words. You’re excited, aren’t you?” Tensei smiled, knowing his brother enough to notice that gleam in his eyes and the lack of a real protest in his words. He ignored the squeaked ‘NO!’ thrown at him and smiled even wider, doing a fast maneuver that put his body between his brother and the door, hugging him on his chest with a ‘oof’ when they inevitably collided. “You know what? Since they’re being so nice with us, I think we should repay their kindness, right?” Tensei grinned when he heard the footsteps coming closer, shouting “HEY, GUYS! BIRTHDAY BOY IS HERE!”
“Tensei!!” But he was already smiling, squirming excitedly on his brother’s hold, especially when a loud, happy ‘YEAHHH!’ boomed through the house. “No, no!! This is betrayal! Deception! Dishonesty! Trickery! Treason!!!”
“Now you’re just reciting the dictionary.” Ingenium laughed, no hint of regret on his voice, distractedly nodding at his friends when they appeared at the door. “Look,” he whispered, conspiratorially, “I will need you to distract them until Shouta lowers his guard so I can sneak upon him. Hizashi would never pass up an opportunity to tickle him too, so you will be safe to run and get something useful for us to bribe them with, ok?” The younger gasped, quickly nodding. “Right. So, are you ready for your part of the plan, sidekick?”
“YES!” Iida chomped the air, voice louder than he originally intended, but his squeal even louder as the other Iida squeezed his side before any hint of what they were talking about could be noticed by the two guests, who now were now much closer, I might say.
“Now, now. It seems like a little listener here is excited for his so desired birthday tickles!!” Hizashi wiggled his fingers in his direction, meaneancily. “Oh! They grow up so fast! It feels like it was yesterday we would be playing heroes, and I, the most incredible villain LoudChaos would be defeated by Ingenium Junior and his vicious attacks of kicking his pillows at me!!” The blond pinched his cheek playfully, watching as the groan of his nephew dissolved in a determined look a few seconds later, energetic gestures following him.
“You will never be able to crack me, villains. Not even with embarrassing memories from my childhood!”
“I don’t know, I think those times when we had to buy at least three copies of your favorite plushie because otherwise you wouldn’t let us wash the original was pretty- ack! Hey, hey!” Tensei snickered as he tried to dodge from Tenya’s warning kicks, “I was kidding! I was kidding!”
“Want me to hold him?” Aizawa asked nonchalantly, a small quirk of his mouth showing his amusement about the whole situation. At Tensei's affirmative nod he held the younger’s arms above his head, briefly messing with his neat combed hair before smirking. “Congrats for being twelve years next to death, brat.”
 Tenya deadpanned at him.
“Ooh, right, twelve!!” Hizashi’s fingers were teasingly getting closer, slowly and then even slowlier, almost touching a spot before pretending to launch at others, resulting in kicks and muffled shrieks from the younger one. “You know what that means, right, Shou?”
“Yes. We will have to tickle him for twelve entire years.”
 “Aw, such a pity.”
 “No! Lies! That is incorrect!”
“Is that so, not-so-little listener? What should we do then?”
“According to your rather silly and foolery tradition you should tickle me for twelve entire minutes. One minute for each year.”
Aizawa and Yamada shared a look, Tensei holding his chuckles and tears in the background. His brother was just way too much precious.
“We should what?” Shouta questioned with a voice completely devoid of emotion, maybe that is why Tenya felt the answer slip away from his lips easily even before he could register the potential trap.
 “Tickle me!”
“Well,” Hizashi attacked, skilled fingers tickling and tickling and tickling every spot they could research. “If you insist.”
There were fingers dancing on his ribs and poking his stomach as a maddening prodding began to be delivered on his sides and even a squeeze found its way to his knee. A much more lazy, almost unbearably light touch drew shapes on his neck, scribbling lightly and softly to his ears and then all the way back to his collarbone, going from one side to another, over and over again.
“Coothie coothie coo, little listener!!” His loud laughter, intertwined with squeaks, yelps and guffaws due the mix between all the soft and energetic tickles, almost made the teasing disappear. Key word: Almost. “Have a tickle, tickle here!” He shook his head, trying to dislodge the fingers on his neck. “And tickle, tickle, tickle there!” Spidering on his shoulder blades made him squirm more. “Have all the tickles, tickly tickles everywhere!!”
“YOHOHOHOU WILL NOT DEFEHEHEAT ME!” Tenya’s smile was almost taking over his entire face, chuckles and giggles spilling freely from him. Yet, - he decided, - he has an important part of the plan and would not lose easily! That was the only reason why he continued firm on his position, figuratively laughing his head out, and definitely not because of how their attention and silliness made him feel happy, safe and loved.
“Of course not.” Shouta paused for a few pieces of seconds, checking his phone. “You still have five minutes left. I am sure you will agree to a defeat, eventually.”
“Nehehever!” Iida did his best to shout, quick, airy snickers floating in the air when Yamada decided to give him a break, leaving only Shouta’s torment to keep the other smiling.
“Hey, hey, hey, little listener!” Tenya knew this tune. He knew that when Uncle Hizashi used that he was planning something. His smile became wobblier and he refused to open his eyes. “Come on, don’t let me hang on here! Look at me, pleaaase?”
The boy just shook his head, eyes still firmly closed.
“Shoouuu, he doesn’t want to see the big, great, amazing surprise I have for him! That is not fair.”
“He is smart. It’s not his fault for your lack of charisma.”
“Gaaasp! You wound me! Friendship ended with Ereaserhead, now my new best friend is Tensei!”
 A pause.
“Buuuut, the vacancy is still open if maybe, just maaaybe,” A wiggly finger tickled under his chin, a snort flew in the air, “a clever teenager with a cute laughter and blue hair decides to open his eyes…”
 “Yohohou will not crahack me!”
“Please,” Poke, “Please, please, pleasepleaseplease!” Poke, poke, pokepokepoke-
“Stop!” And then he finally opened his eyes, finding a very smiley Hizashi in front of him, making a silly face. He half groaned and half giggled, the former action only due Aizawa’s tickles, of course.
“Aw, you didn’t find it funny?” The blonde crossed his arms, pretending to think about his next move. “Donut worry, then! I know something that will make you laugh!!”
And then, in a blink of an eye, he blew a gigantic raspberry on his tummy.
In the exact moment Tenya’s loud, uncontrollable, squeaky belly laughter exploded, Aizawa let go of his arms, a surprised, sharp snorts coming out as Tensei hugged him from behind, his hands being quick to attack his unprotect armpits, low muffled squeals and rumbling chuckles beginning to float in the air.
Tenya fell on his knees, hugging his stomach and tittering non stop as Yamada tenderly ruffled his hair, giving the boy’s cheeks another gentle pinch before getting his attention captured by his best friend’s tickled laughter, his wicked grin making another appearance.
“Is it already Tickle Shouta hours??” He cracked and wiggled his fingers, making a whole show of getting prepared, crackling in delight as the black haired adult laughed harder at the silliness, laying completely limp on Ingenium’s embrace, face starting to be colored by a light red, legs kicking and a hand hiding his mouth, even if the corner of his smile was still clearly visible.
And, as Iida laid on the cold floor, rarefied giggles escaping from time to time, as new laughter and teases filled the room, he thought that he actually didn’t mind that much that such foolery, silly tradition had wormed its way in their family.

Heyyyy! I'm back again. Sorry it took a while to send this ask! Mmm I'd choose the lan sect cuz I need some form of structure in my life lol. I'm not too bad with rules either. But I'd definitely hate their food. I eat wwx levels of spicy and hence I'd like to join the jiang sect haha. Also, their sword forms look nice? YASSS We'd LOOK SO GOOD! 💙🖤 ooh I like what you read. I like reading pining, arranged marriage aus, crack fics, post canon fics, missing scenes, I like canon divergence aus that concentrate on characters other than wwx and lwj. I also like fics with sad endings haha. (1/4)
I'm a big multishipper, too! There's no ship that I don't like? My favorites would be wangxian and sangcheng though. I'm always up to reading these two ships, but I'd read anything really. I feel yah, I do. I can't pick a junior either. I love them all dearly but I tend to get bored if lan jingyi isn't there in junior fics? I need Jingyi to be a major part of the fic if I'm to like it haha. (2/4)
I loooooove Asian cuisine. My favorite is Indian! All that spice, you know? I hope you ate good food since you made yourself hungry answering that lol. Your answer about the seasons is so detailed and beautiful? I love?? Mmmm my favorite season is the rainy season. It's the best. I love the melancholy, the cold and the sound of water tapping against the windows. I'd rather stay at home than venture outside in the rain tho! Winter is the most comfortable time for me, really. I hate the summer! I love the cold and end of the year is my favorite time! (3/4)
Now questions! Have you read any other mxtx works? Also, if you could change one thing is mdzs, what would it be? Do you have any post canon wangxian headcanons? Oooh, what's your favorite wangxian moment in CQL? General questions- do you celebrate Christmas? If you do, are you excited and how do you celebrate? Do you drink coffee or tea or neither or something else? What other shows have you watched except CQL this year? Aight, that's so many questions haha. (4/4) See you soon- 🐰
_______
Heyyyy my dear bunny! I missed ya! But don’t worry, life gets busy sometimes, so take all the time you need <3
Whoahhhh so cool that you can eat intensely spicy food!! I am trying to get used to spicy stuff, but I got a looong way to go haha I detect every gain of pepper or chili or whatever so I am only making slow progress, but I do enjoy spice - up to the level I can take without ending up all red and teary-eyed haha I enjoy good food a lot, too. I like to have some variation so I’d probably be unhappy if I had to only ever eat the Lan cuisine, too hahaha
Ohhhh arranged marriage, people keep recommending it to me - I shoudl really give it a go at some point! Any good fics you wanna recommend? And omggg sad endings!!! Whoah, I bow to you! I’s always pick a happy ending but then again the ending has to fit the need of the story, so I suppose if a happy ending would feel forced then pls gimme a sad one, perhaps even one we can all learn from And yessss, there are so many amazing characters in MDZS I totally get why you’d wanna read about them!! <3
Ah Sangcheng! It’s quite the popular ship I feel. I think it’s cute and a close friend of mine really loves them, too. I bet they’d be excited if I got into that ship as well haha What do you love about Sangcheng? (sell it to meh hahaha, get me hooked) JINGYI!! Yes, he’d the spice we need in the junior fics! He is just so much fun! I think all of them together make such a perfect and well-balanced mix! Perf flavour hahaha What’s it with all the food references here. Am I mildly thinking about food again? Whaaaat Ohhhh Indian!!! (here we go again w the food hahaha) Damn I love Indian food! I cant take the spice so I always go for the noob dished, but they are amazing,t oo! What makes you hate the summer? Do you dislike sweating? You make it sound so cozy ahhh, I am happy we get to spend your fav season together, then, my dear bunny!! I love these timeless days between christmas and the beginning of the new year. It feels like everything is catching its breath and makes whatever you can think of become a bit more possibe
MXTX-related Questions
So far I haven’t read any other works of MXTX, but I think I wanna get to the one with the demonic guy in red and the white soft one next. What was it called? Heaven something? Now TMI tells me ‘City of Heavenly Fire’ which is absolutely not helpful. Uhm.. I could look it up, but then u wouldn’t witness my absolutely entertaining struggle of trying to make my brain work. The Scumbag Self Serving System (did I get that one right) is the first novel if I am correct. And then there is the Heavenly Helper... No... uhm Mysteries of Heaven... Heaven’s Helping Hand... I don’t think it’s getting any better here. I even watched the Donghua trailer wtf why can’t I remember hahaha... Voices of Heaven (that sounds like an American Singing Contest) Okay... imma look it up now.  HEAVEN’S OFFICIAL BLESSING! that one. I was so close Have you read any other works? <3
If I could change one thing in MDZS, what would it be? I would want for XXC and XY to not die, thank you. But then again how about non of my baes die? Okay, lemme try again, to get an impressive and seemingly deep reply... Have Meng Yao realise what kind of a horrible butt his dad is early enough to prevent most of the bad things that happen. I am not sure - but what’s your idea on this one?
My favourite WangXian moment? In CQL it’s the one where they are both at the Cloud Recesses, watching the snowflakes dance through the air. Their bond feels so deep there! Or the one where they are at the lantern thing and WWX get’s LWJ the bunny lantern. Just... the pure happiness. Or the one where they are bold husbands and run away from Carp Tower. Is it even humanly possible to pick just one moment?? Which one is it for you?
General Questions
Do I celebrate Xmas? Yes, I do! I go to my mom’s place for Xmas, where we have dinner and then her boyfriend puts on his super old, super old and worn-out Santa clothes (which is very endearing, cause he is always having the time of his life). Then he hands us our presents which are gathered under the decorated Xmas tree and we have to cite a poem or sing to earn each present. Afterwards we all unpack together, excitedly thanking each other, have dessert and then watch a movie or a video of our past christmasses someone put together It’s all very wholesome. How about you?
Coffee, tea or something else? I like Moccachino, cause it’s an amazing hybrid of coffee and cocoa!! It’s best with coconut milk! That kind of coffee makes me feel all cozy and comfy, but I handle it like a treat. I only drink one, while a close friend of mine drinks several cups of milky coffee a day. I also love cocoa, but I drink it like others drink espresso. I tiny highly concentrated cup. No more. Like a shot of chocolate hahaha I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but sometimes I crave it. As for tea, I looove herbal tea! Peppermint and Fennel Caraway Anise are amazing. Also freshly brewed ginger tea. And green tea with jasmine/flower blossoms or white tea. Big love for these. All of which without sugar so the flavour comes out to speak of its very own beauty I also like mate tea to keep me awake! Otherwise I love water or - omg - freshly pressed apple juice! The! best! Try it if you aren’t allergic! AHHHH that is honestly THE TREAT for me. Rare treat. I don’t even have it once a year. More like every four years or so. But dang. The. best. How about you? <3
Which shows have I watched this year? Many. Lots of cooking shows (on Netflix), cause, you know, food. xD By now I probably know almost all of them. There was a time when I was thoroughly up to date with ALL cooking shows on Netflix. One of my big dreams is being wealthy enough to hire a cook. To cook for me every day. Yes, yes. Otherwise lots of Asian shows. I can recommend:
Hotel Del Luna (omg, do urself a favour, judging from what I know about your taste I think you will like it a lot) also The King Eternal Monarch (good one, very good one)
I also watched Eternal Love and Eternal Love The Pillowbook, which were okay, but they aren’t my favourites Cinderella and the Four Knights was sweet Accidentally in Love was fun but has some major plot holes in my opinion I enjoyed She-Ra Who Are You moved me quite a bit ahhhh Extraordinary You was quite the ride, too!
What are your 2020 shows?

3-Ways Are All Fine And Dandy Until Someone Catches Feelings ~ Part 4
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 5 | Part 6
Lust Covered Cherry Blossoms
Words: 2345
Warning: Biting (duh), kitten kink, dirty talk, slight degradation, blowjob, cum play, bareback (condoms are boring in smut, be safe kids!), and as usual very strong language. This is just straight up filthy bxb smut so fair warning, read at your own risk!
A/N: Ngl, I like this chapter, a lot. Guilty hehe. But yeah, I hope you enjoy, it’s a lot lmao
The first time Hoseok and Changkyun were away after you had made the relationship official, they had no clue how to act normal—being unusually handsy, excessively teasing each other, their typical clinginess dramatically heightened, caused the other boys to suspect something was going on that they didn’t know about. After a while, they were bound to find out or, at the very least, ask questions, but that was future Hoseok and Changkyun’s problem. The problem right now consisted of them both missing you, but Hoseok was craving attention and Changkyun seemed to be too tense to even notice Hoseok’s loneliness. Luckily, they were rooming together, otherwise things would’ve been much more complicated.
Changkyun was lounging on one of the beds, mindlessly flipping through the channels, but not paying attention to whatever he randomly landed on. Hoseok’s voice brought him out of the weird daze he didn’t know he was under, “Kkukkung, you’ve been so distant all day. Are you ok?”
“‘m fine.” He mumbled in response, changing his position so he was facing the TV with his legs stretched out and his arms behind his head, supporting it.
“Are you sure? You seem really tense. I’m worried about you.” Hoseok tilted his head, studying the younger man intently; Changkyun didn’t answer, he only grunted stubbornly. The small smile on Hoseok’s lips transformed into a smirk as he crawled over the bed to get off and saunter over to Changkyun, “Now I know you’re tense because you only get this stubborn when you’re tense, what’s got you like this?”
“Just a lot going on.” Changkyun’s brief, vague, reply made Hoseok roll his eyes.
“Well, that doesn’t tell me much. Do you need your shoulders rubbed or something? Want me to order room service?”
Changkyun frantically waved him off, “I’m trying to watch my show.”
The older man chuckled, “You don’t even know what ‘your show’ is. I have an idea that could maybe ease some of your stress.”
“Yeah, ok,” Changkyun mumbled sarcastically, eyes immediately widening when Hoseok slung his leg over him and cautiously sat in his lap, “What are you doing?” He whispered to the man perched on his thighs.
Smirk still present on his face, Hoseok leaned forward to brush his lips against the shell of Changkyun’s ear, “What does it look like I’m doing? I already told you, I’m trying to be a good hyung and relieve your stress.” He nipped at the younger man’s earlobe, urging a hushed moan to slip past his parted lips, “Any requests?” He asked before leaving a sloppy trail of kisses down the side of Changkyun’s neck.
His back arched at the sensation of Hoseok nibbling at a sensitive area under his ear, something he now wanted so desperately to do to him, “Let me mark you anywhere I want and as much as I want.”
He felt Hoseok smirk against his skin, “And what do you expect me to say to the makeup noonas when they’re trying to cover up your mess?”
Changkyun laughed airily, “It’s a beautiful mess, you’re not supposed cover up art.”
Hoseok scoffed, “I don’t think that’ll go over very well.” He bit at the younger man’s flesh especially hard prompting Changkyun to yelp out another moan and squirm under his weight, “Hmm, I see why you like biting so much. Such cute reactions.”
“Well, w-what am I going t-to - ahh! - say when they a-ask about, about my m-marks?” Changkyun stuttered out, already beginning to quiver with pleasure.
The older man hummed against his skin, “You’ll think of something.”
Instead of relinquishing control completely to Hoseok, Changkyun growled deeply and grabbed Hoseok’s hips sternly, “Okay, you’ve had your fun. It’s my turn now.” He successfully flipped them over so that Hoseok was underneath him and removed his own shirt before shimmying Hoseok’s up and off his muscular torso. Blindly throwing the articles of clothing over his shoulder, Changkyun was already breathless as he captured the older man’s lips in a heated, desperate kiss, Hoseok clung onto him in a hopeless effort to get even closer. “You’re like a cat, wanting so much attention, it’s cute,” Changkyun whispered, amusement evident in his hushed voice.
Hoseok stopped him suddenly, his mind wandered to you and what you would say; worry washed over his reddened face, “Should we actually be doing all this without her?”
Changkyun chuckled while gently pushing the hair out of the other man’s eyes, “Knowing her, she’d probably think it was ridiculously hot and be all for coupling up whenever we feel like it.”
“You’re probably right.” He smiled warmly, reaching up to Changkyun’s neck to pull him to his lips again.
The younger man hummed against his mouth, “We’ll have to skype her sometime so she can watch us. Would you like that? Knowing you’re on camera, would that make you hornier? Would it make you cum harder knowing someone was watching you?”
Hoseok’s back arched off the bed, his wanton moans muffled by their lips together, “Yes. Fuck yes. I’d cum so hard for you.”
Changkyun’s laugh turned carnal, “Maybe some other time. I want you all to myself right now, kitten.” His fingertips danced along Hoseok’s abs, teasing the sensitive skin at the waistband of his sweatpants as he sucked the older man’s tongue into his mouth, his thigh brushed over his hard, twitching cock. Hoseok whimpered and wound his fingers tighter in Changkyun’s waves; the younger man’s groan was muffled by their mouths sloppily moving together, too caught up in each other to care what kind of mess they were making.
He pulled away to nip at Hoseok’s jawline, bruising into the delicate skin the colors of lust covered cherry blossoms, lapping and kissing at the marks he left in his wake while slowly inching the waistband further down his hips to expose more perfect flesh, begging to be poisoned by his teeth. Hoseok squirmed under his grasp, whining at the lazy pace Changkyun was moving along his body, “Hurry, I want...you.” He breathed, yearning for much more than the younger man was currently giving him.
Changkyun, again, chuckled darkly, “So impatient, are we now, kitten? How about I make it so that you’re begging me to stop instead?”
Hoseok nodded eagerly, intently watching as he slid the material completely off, writhing once more as his aching cock was exposed to the over-air-conditioned atmosphere of the hotel room. Changkyun shoved the articles of clothing off the bed and grabbed one of Hoseok’s calves in each hand, pushing his legs back until his knees were almost resting on the bed next to his head. The older man let out a breathy moan when Changkyun crudely spit at his entrance and smiled slyly, “No lube. Guess this is the way it has to be.”
“Why wouldn’t you pack that? That seems pretty important…” Hoseok struggled to speak, given his compromised position.
Changkyun squeezed at the supple flesh of Hoseok’s ass cheeks, smirking against his skin, “Well, it’s not like I expected some horny idiot to jump me! Why didn’t you bring it?”
Hoseok only huffed in response, toes curling when Changkyun finally began to lap at his hole. “Fuck,” he shivered, white-knuckling the sheets at his sides. Changkyun began to gradually loosen Hoseok up. “You— Fuck!” The older man shouted as Changkyun prodded at his prostate with his middle finger while sucking one of his balls into his mouth, “Oh god—” Hoseok whimpered, “You haven’t even touched my dick yet and I already feel like I’m gonna cum. What are you doing to me?”
The older man again felt Changkyun grin against him, “I already told you, making you beg for me to stop.”
Changkyun slipped another finger in Hoseok’s tight hole, causing him to gasp and drop his head back against the mattress, “Shit…” Hoseok squirmed, reaching up to clutch at Changkyun’s arm.
“Want me to stop yet, kitten?”
Hoseok shook his head and tried to urge Changkyun’s arm to move faster, “No. More. I want more…” He whined desperately, “God, please, more!”
Changkyun’s grin widened, loving how weak he made Hoseok, how well he listened, how cute he was when he begged for him—he loved every minute, “Does that feel good?”
“Yes…” Hoseok breathed, groaning deep in his chest, toes curling again as he felt his high fast approaching, “Hah, gonna cum!”
The younger man hummed, pulling out his fingers and sitting back on his legs, ceasing all stimulation, and Hoseok whimpered helplessly. Changkyun gently laid his legs back onto the bed, caressing the muscular flesh of Hoseok’s thighs; the older man’s ragged breathing began to slow, prompting Changkyun to lean forward to take his weeping cock into his mouth, once again encouraging Hoseok’s close release. Deep-throating him, Changkyun clutched at his hips while Hoseok writhed in pleasure underneath his weight, “But...I...wait--Ahh, fuck I’m gonna cum!”
Hoseok bucked up into Changkyun’s mouth; tears pricked at the younger man’s eyes as he gagged around Hoseok’s thick cock, nails digging deeper into his skin. He pulled away just before Hoseok could release and the whine that came out of him was the definition of sinful. Changkyun caved in, throwing all thoughts of edging him further out the window, setting Hoseok’s dick against his tongue and pumping it a few times before the older man came in his mouth, whispered curses tumbling from his bruised lips as he stared into Changkyun’s eyes and emotional tears began to blur his own vision.
“Shit…” He whispered as Changkyun closed his mouth and smirked. A devilish look flashed in his eyes as he crawled up next to Hoseok, the older man sat up weakly. Changkyun chuckled smugly, taking a seat in Hoseok’s lap and clutching his face in his hands, Hoseok’s parted lips provided the perfect opportunity to kiss them with his own. Changkyun’s surprise of not swallowing caused the older man to groan strongly, cum beginning to ooze out around their mouths as they moved in synch. They kissed for what seemed like hours, savoring the bitter taste of Hoseok’s cum between their wild tongues and swollen lips.
Changkyun pulled away, cum dribbled down both of their chins, and he smiled cunningly when he noticed the beautifully fucked out expression on Hoseok’s face. Changkyun trailed his fingers over Hoseok’s jawline, swiping up some of the sticky white substance that had escaped with his thumb and had the older man suck it off blissfully.
“I think you’ve got one more for me, kitten.”
Hoseok was feeling much too euphoric to protest to cumming a second time so close together so he just smiled weakly.
“On your hands and knees, now.” Changkyun wiped his mouth and got up to watch as the older man obediently obliged, wiggling his ass slightly and scooting back closer to Changkyun’s waiting cock, “So eager for my dick, huh?” Hoseok looked over his shoulder and nodded, biting his lip, “And not even the slightest bit ashamed about it, are you, cockslut?”
“No…” Hoseok whimpered, grinding back against Changkyun’s dick, still hidden behind the fabric of his underwear. “I’m not ashamed— I need you.”
Changkyun hummed, “‘Need me’? ‘Need me’ for what?”
“I need you to fuck me.”
Cock twitching in its confines at Hoseok’s blatant request, Changkyun clutched at the soft skin of Hoseok’s ass, dipping down to leave as many marks as he could over the expanse of his ass cheeks before grinding his tongue against the older man’s quivering hole, re-moistening it in place of lube to take his dick.
Hoseok whined at the sensation, his own cock quickly growing harder and harder by the second; his fingers wound around fistfuls of the sheets, “Please, take me already!” He practically screamed into the mattress.
Changkyun chuckled against him, “As you wish?” He slipped out of his boxers and spit into his hand, coating his dick with his saliva and readying himself at Hoseok’s entrance; the older man gasped loudly as he was filled to the brim. Changkyun leaned forward to nip marks into the skin of Hoseok’s neck and shoulders as he adjusted to the size. Heart pounding as the slight bit of pain subsided, Hoseok urged Changkyun to move, his own hips instinctively bucking to meet the younger man’s thrusts.
“So… good… fuck…” Hoseok moaned in time with Changkyun’s thrusts.
“That’s it, kitten.” Changkyun straightened up, “Taking me so well.” He admired the way his cock disappeared past Hoseok’s tight ring while whiny moans passed his own lips. Getting overwhelmed at how hot he found it, Changkyun immediately yanked Hoseok up flush against his chest to pound into him at a new angle.
Hoseok dropped his head back onto Changkyun’s shoulder, eyes slipping closed as he reached up to grip at the back of his neck, savoring the intense sensation when Changkyun’s fingers trailed over his dick. Again craving release, Hoseok began to thrust into Changkyun’s hand, matching the younger man’s pace, both of them nearing their end.
“Fuck, kitten, make me cum…” Changkyun groaned into his ear, Hoseok’s panting breaths almost drowning out his voice as he clenched around his cock. Changkyun’s nails dug into the older man’s hip and he bit at Hoseok’s shoulder to keep his shouts and moans at bay, stilling inside him as he painted his walls with his hot seed.
Changkyun swiped his thumb over Hoseok’s slit and he whimpered in response, fingers tangling in Changkyun’s hair once more. With a few more pumps, Hoseok clutched Changkyun’s wrist, with a strangled moan passing his lips, he came, hard, for the second time that night.
The two of them stayed in that position long enough to catch their breaths, both of them groaning at the overstimulation when Changkyun pulled out.
“Well, I guess we’re sleeping in my bed tonight,” Hoseok chuckled as he looked at the cum-covered sheets below him.
“I’d say mine is pretty well fucked,” Changkyun snorted, Hoseok hit him for the stupid joke and both of them headed off to clean up before returning to the clean bed to sleep away their evident exhaustion.

Over his head, up and above in the clear firmament, the white clouds danced across the blue sky, slow but determined, their shapes changing with the wind. He craned his neck up and looked at them in the silence of the morning. One of the largest ones looked like a duck swimming in the water if he squinted.
Looking for shapes relaxed him and made him forget about the weight of his body, about the old suppressed resentment that slept within him, about how dull this life was sometimes without pain or fear or hunger. But clouds, clouds were good. They made him remember of the soft texture of cotton gauzes.
"Hey! Uncle Ning!" A voice rang from the distance. The person he was expecting had arrived. The highlight of a day that otherwise would have been ordinary. A smile bloomed inside of Wen Ning's heart.
"Good morning, A-Yuan," he looked back to the Earth and nodded. The excited grin he couldn't put on his lips was nonetheless plastered in Lan Sizhui's.
"Good morning," the boy hugged him briefly and rubbed Wen Ning's upper back. "Sorry I'm late! I had to do extra chores. Jingyi got punished today so, he can't come."
"Oh no!" Wen Ning's head dropped.
He didn't mind that his little cousin had taken his time. It's not like he had much planned that day. He had hoped the other loud yet kind boy would come and visit as well. He was doomed to be rather fond of loud kind people. After Sizhui, he was the friendliest of the young boys towards him.
"It's okay, it's just an extra reading and not lines this time. He says he's definitely coming with us next time."
"I-I'm looking forward to it."
Sizhui giggled with his hand covering his mouth. The sound was music to Wen Ning's ears.
"Right, let me show you this cool trick we were taught in class today. Hold on a second."
The teenager took out a Qiankun pouch from his long white sleeve. As he opened it to get a stack of talisman paper, Wen Ning noticed that Sizhui's sleeve started to move on its own.
Sizhui froze and stared at his robes with confusion in his eyes. He bent his arm and shook the sleeve until something white and fluffy landed on the grass.
One long ear rose forward and a nose twitched in the air.
How did a bunny get inside of A-Yuan's clothes?
"Aw!" the boy lamented. "It must have sneaked inside while I was feeding the rabbits!"
"Feeding the rabbits?" Wen Ning repeated. This was the first time he had heard the Lan Sect raised animals of any kind in the Cloud Recesses. Then again, he had never stepped inside and only knew the things he caught from the boys or Wei Wuxian's stories. And hadn't A-Yuan mentioned that Lan Wangji had buried him with rabbits when he was younger? Suddenly that odd story made perfect sense.
Meanwhile, the creature was running in circles and jumping in the air. Wen Ning wondered if that was its way of playing. Sizhui didn't seem alarmed by the hops, so that couldn't be a bad thing. Despite that, the man's shoulders stiffened further.
"W-What should we do? Do we catch...?"
"It's okay, Uncle, I don't think it'll leave too far if it hasn't already. Besides, it's happy!"
"Is it?" Wen Ning tilted his head.
"When they jump like that, they're saying they're content and glad to be there. It's like a little dance."
"Oh..."
The bunny skipped a few more times before stopping to explore the area. And that meant it looked around, approached the stranger carefully, and then stood up on its hind legs to lean on Wen Ning's calf with its front legs. He looked down and glanced, and their eyes met. The bunny's right ear was naturally crooked, as if folded. The nose was still twitching. The cuteness was so strong that an impulse invaded the dead man's mind.
After a moment of hesitation, Wen Ning crouched and reached so the rabbit was then cupped within his two hands. It made no attempt to escape; instead, it just moved its head around. His heart felt a tender tug that had nothing to do with any wounds in his chest. With utmost caution, he shifted the weight in only one hand, and with the other he caressed the bunny's back with his fingertips.
It was not spooked, as he had feared. The fur was so soft and fuzzy. The rabbit's teeth started to make clicking sounds that made him recall a cat's purr after petting for a while.
"Whoa!" Lan Sizhui said with a gasp.
"I-Is it comfortable...?"
"Yes! It's actually really happy!" the boy beamed.
While he was physically unable to shed tears, Wen Ning strongly felt like crying.
He kept running his fingers through the bunny's back. Once he was more confident, he moved on to its head and later scratched behind its ears. The animal was delighted and tilted its bended ear closer to the ashen hand. High-pitched muffled noises came out of the man's throat, a stark contrast with the deafening deep roars of a fierce corpse.
"Are you by chance good with animals, Uncle?"
"Um... We had a couple of kittens when I was little, but other than that... I don't know. Ever since I became like this, I try not to get close and scare any animals." After all, they usually can tell he's unnatural and dangerous. "This is the first one I’ve touched this much."
"Aww, Uncle Ning..."
"Ah... Sorry..." A realization, a sadness that was visible in his frozen expression regardless. "Here, you have to take it back."
As he grabbed the rabbit under its front legs to give to Sizhui, it started to struggle. It couldn't escape the inhuman iron-like grasp, but it still let them know it disagreed with this decision. When Wen Ning turned it again to face him, it stopped the thrashing.
"..."
"Huh, it doesn't want to go back yet." Sizhui tapped his chin, lost in thought. "Let's do something, okay? I'll talk to Hanguang-jun."
"What for?"
"Well, the rabbits are his. But we have so many, so maybe he can let you have it. I mean, if you want it as a pet?"
Wen Ning couldn't blink, but his voice was but a whisper loaded with surprise. "A pet? Can I?" The idea of taking care of a small, fragile living being like that seemed wild to him.
"You don't lose control anymore so as long as you go on night-hunts together and such, I don't see why not?" Sizhui glanced at the makeshift shack that Wen Ning had made by the foot of the mountain to protect himself from the elements, as if evaluating whether a bunny could remain indoors or not without dying.
Wen Ning was holding the rabbit under its butt, in a way where the pads of its paws were visible. In that position, they could tell she was a girl. Also, she was too adorable. He didn't want to get his hopes up, and to be honest the idea was giving him some anxiety. Yet he really longed to have her company.
"I know a lot about bunny care, don't worry about the details. Let me fly back and ask!" Sizhui smiled. "Even if you're not allowed, at least I can buy you an afternoon to play with her."
"I-Isn't that too much trouble for you?" Wen Ning fretted.
"Of course not. I'll be back before curfew! Have fun!"
"W-Wait! A-Yuan?"
Sizhui didn't reply and instead unsheathed his sword.
Such a good boy, he thought as he saw his cousin get closer to the clouds above.
************
Sizhui went through the words he wanted to say one last time in his head, when he reached the Jingshi's door. Carefully, he placed his ear on the wooden surface and listened. No noises, no voices, no heavy breathing or alarming sounds. These days, it was essential to take a few seconds to make sure you didn't interrupt the happy couple during their time together. For your mental health, mostly.
Confident, the boy knocked and waited a few seconds. It was possible they hadn't returned yet and the house was empty, but a familiar voice rang from inside.
"Come in."
Sizhui opened the door carefully and greeted with a bright smile. "Good afternoon, Hanguang-jun. Welcome back!"
Lan Wangji was sitting at his desk. He nodded and put down the book he was reading. He seemed as solemn as usual but Sizhui knew better. There was an almost invisible yet tender spark in his eyes inside the stern complexion.
"Am I interrupting? I can come back later," the boy asked as he sat in front of the desk. He could smell the comforting scent of sandalwood from the incense burner, and he could see his father's guqin resting on a bamboo stand in a corner.
"No need, you are more important." Sizhui felt warm and loved at the words. "Are you just visiting or is there anything you wished to talk about?"
"Ah, yes. Um... It's about one of the rabbits. When I was feeding them this morning, one of the girls jumped inside my sleeve and well..." Sizhui sighed. "I went outside the Cloud Recesses and she managed to stow away." He made a pause to see if there was any reaction in Lan Wangji's face. His face was unchanging, which was even more intimidating. "She got away from me but don't worry, someone caught her."
"I see. Be more careful next time." Lan Wangji's voice was quite neutral at least, not giving it much importance.
"I will, but that's not the problem. I—"
They were interrupted by the faraway noise of an object breaking, two thuds, a clang, a donkey's outraged bray, and another familiar voice yelling something about either something black, a hound or a skull. That could be either of these things, considering this was Senior Wei in question. Neither of the two Lans decided to dwell on it.
"Anyway," Sizhui shook his head. "I wasn't the one who retrieved her. A... another person was nearby and he caught her. The thing is, the bunny really likes him. We already have so many, so I was wondering if we could allow him to keep her as his pet? Please? I feel bad breaking them up."
He bit his lower lip while his father figure was lost in thoughts. What if this was a mistake and he had given his uncle a false hope?
"As long as this person has no intentions of eating her," Lan Wangji finally said, "I have no objections."
"Hahaha, no!" Sizhui chuckled. "He doesn't eat." Realizing the mistake of ending the phrase there, he quickly added more to it. "Meat, I mean. He doesn't eat meat. No rabbit meat in his diet. Ahahaha..."
The pause was too long and awkward! Nonetheless, Hanguang-jun's face remained the same.
"Mmn. Make sure to tell him about proper care," he said. Sizhui let out the breath he was holding. "If he's a cultivator or you think he could partake in dangerous business, you may add a general version of our protocol on how to handle and keep small living beings safe during night hunts. In case that might be useful."
The boy wondered if that last part meant his father figure suspected this stranger's real identity. But since Sizhui didn't know Lan Wangji's actual opinion on Wen Ning or if he'd let one of his bunnies in the hands of a fierce corpse, he preferred to leave it at that.
"Thank you so much," Sizhui bowed, his ponytail bouncing up and down, and then stood up. "I'll leave you to your reading, okay?"
"Stop," Lan Wangji said after he had turned on his heels. "I need to discuss something with you as well, so please take a seat."
That didn't bode well, but Sizhui complied and hoped it didn't involve copying lines while doing a handstand again.
"Uncle has given me a series of complaints about you. He wants me to put sense into your head."
"Oh..." Indeed, this could end up in punishment. "About the night hunts?"
"About the night hunts. He's upset about you inviting Wen Qionglin, about you staying past the curfew, about you dragging the other disciples your age and about you being a bad influence to your juniors. This is a level of indiscipline improper of you."
Sizhui opened his mouth, but he immediately closed it before defending himself. He had no idea how to do that, how to explain how he felt about spending time with his Uncle Ning, how warm and fuzzy it was that Jingyi and the others were nice to him as if he wasn't the Ghost General. Yet he understood their teacher's worries, even if he thought they were unfair.
"I will appreciate it if in the future you act with prudence..."
"Hanguang-jun..."
"...and come back to the Cloud Recesses long before nine, if possible."
Sizhui blinked and waited for the rest, but Lan Wangji was already picking up his book from the desk.
"You're only concerned about the curfew?" he dared asking.
"I politely disagree with Uncle. Wei Ying and I don't think Wen Qionglin is a danger to any of you. "
Lan Sizhui let out a sigh. He straightened his back and returned to a serious expression that didn't match his relief.
"Understood. I'll do my best to follow the rules, and make the others follow them too."
"Mmn."
As he was about to leave the room, he heard Lan Wangji's voice behind him.
"I respect that he's your family, just like we are."
Sizhui's eyes started to prickle with hot tears, but the door opened and he saw a surprised smirk in front of him.
"Oh, it's Sizhui! Hey!" Wei Wuxian's hand pet the boy's head and ruffled his hairstyle. "Talk to you later, there's an emergency and I have to redraw suppressing talismans on a skull. Okay?"
"Y-yeah, please do so, Senior Wei. And welcome home!"
With quick steps, the fastest he could without running -as it was against the rules after all- the young man left the Jingshi with no questions for his other father figure about whatever mess he was solving or creating.
************
"Uncle Ning? Are you home?"
The voice and knock came from beyond the makeshift door. Without making sudden moves, the owner of the miserable but sturdy hut answered. "Yes."
The vision that awaited Lan Sizhui was quite amazing. Wen Ning lay on his back, on the body-long mat he used as a seating space or for a guest's bed. Over the length of his torso, the bunny flopped on her belly. Front paws under her head, back legs stretched out, ears laid back at an angle. She didn't mind the vein-marked hand that was scratching her in a lazy manner. No matter how you looked at it, the rabbit had come to trust this strange gray giant to the point of being able to completely relax on him.
Wen Ning couldn't see his relative's face until he sat next to him. Sizhui had a cute expression of delight that to him matched not only the animal but the state of his own heart.
After he regained some composure and stopped suppressing silly sounds —a struggle his uncle had understood too well for the entire afternoon— Sizhui coughed into his own fist and attempted to sound solemn.
"I have news. I spoke to Hanguang-jun, and he says he doesn't mind."
Wen Ning's eyes opened wide. He sat up in a jolt, not before placing a firm hand over the rabbit's body. She escaped his grasp in protest and jumped off, away from his arms. The man was too busy staring at the boy's honest grin in disbelief.
"I-Is it true? Really?"
"Really, really! She's yours!"
He had been bracing himself for a negative answer for the last hour. He had resigned himself to just enjoying a short time with the rabbit before returning her. As sad as it was, he had been used to things never going the way he hoped -even when he was alive his luck had always been beyond terrible. Despite this unusual positive response, he couldn't believe his ears.
Was it childish to be this happy for being allowed to keep a pet? It was as if the adult had been Sizhui instead of him, and that gave him a bit of shame. And yet... and yet... he felt so blessed he knew he would weep if his eyes could. His heart was swelling with joy.
"Thank you." His whisper left his lips in a broken voice. "Give Young Master Lan my thanks."
"Hahaha, he says there's no need."
"Did you hear, A-Ju?" He turned to the rabbit. "You're staying with me."
The bunny flopped again on the mat, this time on her left side and with her front legs folded near her chest.
"She keeps doing that," Wen Ning explained. "It's cute."
"It's a good thing," Sizhui assured him. "So her name is Ju?"
Wen Ning nodded. He would have blushed if he could. Despite his pessimism, he had still decided on a full name for her. He had thought for a long time.
"Written which what character?"
"Like chrysanthemum," Wen Ning drew 菊 in the air with a finger.
"Ah, that's pretty! I thought it was from bent." He drew 局 and pointed at the bunny's quirky ear.
"Ah, that too. She, uh... Her full name is Ju Juju."
"And the other Ju?" Sizhui leaned closer with sparks in his eyes.
Wen Ning picked up A-Ju and grasped her with his two hands as an answer. "Ju." His cousin drew the right character in the air, 匊, before cracking up.
"Pfffft, Uncle!" Sizhui snickered.
"I know, it's kind of silly..."
"I like that wordplay, though." The boy tickled the belly of the now named Ju Juju. "I do think it's clever!"
A-Yuan was one of the few people Wen Ning knew who genuinely found his jokes and puns funny. He had stopped saying them during his childhood when he only received exasperated groans, and it was wonderful when he accidentally discovered that they had a similar sense of humor.
"Ju as the flower for short," Wen Ning added, ruffling Sizhui's hair very softly.
"Yep, it's the most name-like. And her tail is fluffy like that flower so it suits her."
"Yes." Wen Ning forced a smile on his lips. Sizhui looked around and saw the small bowls of fruit and water on the ground, and a couple of sticks and stones that his uncle had offered as prospects for temporary toys.
"Okay, should I tell you how to take care of her?"
"Please do."
He was going to love to take care of her.
************
Epilogue
"Hey! Wen Ning!" Wei Wuxian's voice rang out, this time not enticing with orders but just appealing with the cordiality of an old friend. It was not a summon but a call. Behind him, Lan Wangji was holding Li’l Apple's reins and two boys trotted next to their seniors.
"...Young Master Wei." A tall, meek figure came out of the bamboo forest.
Wei Ying grinned as the Lan clan members exchanged greetings. Was it his imagination, or did Wen Ning's chest look a bit more buff? Couldn't be, and yet he looked slightly bulkier.
"Coming with us to a night hunt?" Wei Wuxian said.
"Y-Yes, I'd love to... Just give me two minutes." Wen Ning's well-worn boots were twitching, as if he wanted to run away.
"What's wrong?" Lan Wangji asked.
"Uh? N-Nothing, I need to... drop something at the hut..."
That's when Wen Ning's pectorals started to rustle and jingle. Before anyone could say anything, a white head emerged from his shirt. It was a rabbit.
Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi shared the same guilty look on their faces which meant that, unlike Wei Wuxian, they understood what was going on.
"Why is there's a bunny here?" Had it been anyone else, Wei Wuxian would have also asked Wen Ning a question about the possibility of catching it to roast it, but he knew the his friend wouldn’t appreciate that. Besides, for some reason there were two ribbons, one white and one red, forming a little bow around its neck so it was probably a pet. Tied to the ribbons, there was a little round silver bell which explained the noise.
A white blur slowly passed by everyone until he stood in front of Wen Ning, who started to shake. Lan Zhan just glanced at the animal. After some seconds of indecision, Wen Ning took it out of his shirt and raised it towards his old master's husband with reluctance. The boys seemed as nervous as the fierce corpse.
Lan Wangji didn't grab the bunny, though. He moved his hand to place it over the fuzzy ears. Just like that, he started to pet it. It closed its eyes and leaned closer to the elegant fingers of jade. Neither his or Wen Ning's face had made any change in their expression, just them staring at the fluffy white thing, one holding it and the other one caressing it.
Wei Wuxian couldn't take it. They were too much. His stomach was hurting from the strain of suppressing the laughter.
"Oh, I can't with this!" he guffawed. Lan Wangji stopped and turned around. Wen Ning quickly let the bunny climb to his shoulder, where it licked its owner's cheek. "You two..." Wei Ying giggled, unable to restrain himself. "Adult men shouldn't be this cute!"
"Right?!" Jingyi nodded furiously.
"Senior Wei can be cute as well sometimes," Sizhui helped.
"Well, I guess that's—" Wei Wuxian pouted, unable to feel fully complimented or insulted. He crossed his arms. "Wait, why only sometimes?"
"Let me take A-Ju back inside," Wen Ning said. "She has a big corral."
"Mnn," Lan Wangji said, ignoring the return of his beloved's loud laugh. "As in the flower?"
"Yes, Young Master Lan."
"Good name."
Wen Ning couldn't beam at Lan Zhan's comment but he sure looked the happiest they had seen in a while. After a string of thankful sounds, the undead man ran to his hut with the bunny on his shoulder. The bell rang with every step.
Lan Wangji didn't smile either but Wei Wuxian glanced at the tenderness in his eyes. The latter wasn't sure if it was the rabbit or warming up to Wen Ning over a common interest that wasn't protecting Wei Wuxian or the juniors' asses for once. Still, he was mesmerized by the soft expression on that beautiful face until Jingyi's voice broke the spell.
"But Senior Wei has a point," he said. "I don't think anyone would believe us if we told them that we witnessed Hanguang-jun and the Ghost General, two of the strongest and scariest men of the cultivation world, basically coo over a bunbun together."
"Hahaha, yes!" Sizhui agreed.
"That's part of their secret charm!" Wei Wuxian grinned and clasped around his husband's arm. Wen Ning returned with a little hop into his steps. Wei Ying in turn was also content to see this man, whom he had cursed with such a miserable afterlife, so full of love.
In fact he decided it was better than any teasing or cooking joke he could make. Adult men like those two could and should be this cute, especially around him and the kids.

So. You will all be delighted to learn that I survived my two day meeting. So did my management team so that’s nice. For them. For now … Other momentous achievements in the week, as there have been few I have to be brutally honest, I achieved the ‘Approved’ badge on Netgalley where in one day I doubled my auto approval status from two to four publishers. Go me. exciting times ahead.
Or something.
In more exciting news, for the first time since around Christmas, I received book post. Not one book. Not even two books. Four books! Yes folks, four lovely jubbly books. I am beside myself with excitement. Well I am beside the cat who is lying across my feet as I work on my laptop, but if I rename her ‘Myself with Excitement’ then I am strictly not lying. It is harder to remember than Luna and in all honesty she doesn’t look exactly impressed, but I’m sure with time we’ll both get used to it. It’s more polite than the names I usually call her when she bounces off my head at three in the morning.
But you probably aren’t interested in my domestic arrangements so I’ll tell you about the books instead. First up was a double header from Orenda, two books I am very excited about reading. One was We Were The Salt Of The Sea by Roxanne Bouchard, the second, and this induced a small amount of bounciness to be fair, was Keeper by Johana Gustawsson. I know right? Super happy book blogger over here then. I also received two more books, no less exciting than the first two, in the shape of Evidence of Death by Peter Ritchie and Kate Riordan’s The Stranger, although technically that one is for Mandie who is taking part in the blog tour on behalf of Jen Med’s.
Aren’t they pretty? I’ve concluded that book post is like buses. You wait for weeks then loads come along at once. I am going to assume the bus/bookpost union is going to declare a strike agin now for a few weeks but it was fun while it lasted. Not to be deterred, and because it would be a shame not to use my new found auto-approved statuses, I may have downloaded a few books from the old Netgalley. Purely for blog tours – lets not go mad now.
I found it absolutely necessary to pick up the following treats: Found Drowned by BK Duncan; The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton; The Pact by SE Lynes and The Little Cottage On The Hill by Emma Davies. Blog tours books. Each and every one, I swear.
Depending on your point of view (i.e. whather or not you own Amazon) I’ve been pretty good purchase wise this week. Sort of. Just a few new preorders and books I realised I hadn’t preordered that i should have. You know? The essentials. First up was Blue Night by Simone Buchholz; a Quick Reads title – Clean Break by Tammy Cohen; Killer On The Run and Hidden Agenda by MA Comley; Finders Keepers by KT Finch and White Lies by Lucy Dawson.
A couple of audible purchase may have fell into my shopping basket too. This Is How It Ends by Eva Dolan; The Wicked Cometh by Laura Carlin; The Silent Wife by Kerry Fisher.
Lots of road trips coming up. I need the company. As I was quite bogged down with meetings this week, I’ve been struggling with the reading. Still managed to clear a few, and fluffing good reads they were too. One confused the fluff out of me mind as the central family’s name was Lucas, the character had and Aunt Jenny (Lucas) and her father was Patrick (Pat). Pat happens to have been my mother’s name. Talk about yer deja vu moments …
Books I Have Read
Perfect Death – Helen Fields
There’s no easy way to die…
Unknown to DI Luc Callanach and the newly promoted DCI Ava Turner, a serial killer has Edinburgh firmly in his grip. The killer is taking his victims in the coldest, most calculating way possible – engineering slow and painful deaths by poison, with his victims entirely unaware of the drugs flooding their bloodstream until it’s too late.
But how do you catch a killer who hides in the shadows? A killer whose pleasure comes from watching pain from afar? Faced with their most difficult case yet, Callanach and Turner soon realise they face a seemingly impossible task…
The third book in the Luc Callanach series, I’ll be reviewing this as part of the blog tour this time next week. perhaps slightly slower in pace than the others, or maybe that was just me, it was no less tense nad the risks for Luc and Eva as high as ever. You can order your own copy right here.
The Reunion – Samantha Hayes
They were all there the day your sister went missing. Who is lying? Who is next?
THEN – In charge of her little sister at the beach, Claire allowed Eleanor to walk to the shop alone to buy an ice cream. Placing a coin into her hand, Claire told her to be quick, knowing how much she wanted the freedom.
Eleanor never came back.
NOW – The time has finally come to sell the family farm and Claire is organising a reunion of her dearest friends, the same friends who were present the day her sister went missing.
When another girl disappears, long-buried secrets begin to surface. One of the group hides the darkest secret of them all…
This is it. The book that confused me. Doesn’t take much. Tense and littered with secrets, this book gripped me from the off, taking only a few hours to devour. My review will be published soon but you can preorder your own copy here.
The Collector – Fiona Cummins
Jakey escaped with his life and moved to a new town. His rescue was a miracle but his parents know that the Collector is still out there, watching, waiting . . .
Clara, the girl he left behind, dreams of being found. Her mother is falling apart but she will not give up hope.
The Collector has found an apprentice to take over his family’s legacy.  But he can’t forget the one who got away and the detective who destroyed his dreams.
DS Etta Fitzroy must hunt him down before his obsession destroys them all.
I have been sitting on this book (not literally) since the summer, promising myself I would read it, but thinking I should wait a little closer to publication. I loved Rattle. Could The Collector leave me with the same feeling? Well, you’ll find out very soon when I publish my review but you can order your own copy for Kindle right now. Hardback is out in a couple of weeks and can be ordered here.
Quick Reads: Inspector Chopra and the Million Dollar Motor Car – Vaseem Khan
An enchanting Baby Ganesh Agency short story: a million-dollar car is missing. Chopra has two days to find it, or the gangster who bought it will not be happy.
The Premier No.1 Garage is the place to go in Mumbai if you want a luxury car. Even Mumbai’s biggest gangster shops there – he’s just ordered a classic race car worth millions.

And how on earth did they make it vanish from the locked garage?
Inspector Chopra has just days to find the culprit – and the missing car – before its gangster owner finds out … and takes violent revenge.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. About an hours worth of a very fun Chopra and Ganesha adventure here which had me chuckling and smiling. If you love the series as I do, you won’t want to miss out so you can orders your own copy here. If you haven’t read any Chopra books, it’s a really goo taster of what you are missing.
Quick Reads: Cut Off – Mark Billingham
Step into a thrilling Quick Read from number one bestselling crime fiction author Mark Billingham. It’s the moment we all fear: losing our phone, leaving us cut off from family and friends. But, for Louise, losing hers in a local café takes her somewhere much darker.
After many hours of panic, Louise is relieved when someone gets in touch offering to return the phone. From then on she is impatient to get back to normal life.
But when they meet on the beach, Louise realises you should be careful what you wish for…
Another quick read title but one which will certainly make you stop and think about how over connected we are to our phones and technology and what happens when you lose it. Do you also lose sight of the danger right in front of your eyes if only viewing the world through the sight on your camera phone? You can order your own copy here.
That was it. Not too much, not too shabby. Probably just right all things considered. I had a pretty full on week on the blog as well, sticking to my resolution of cutting back and posting every day …

No so busy week coming up but still managed to shoe-horn in a couple of blog tours with Killed by Thomas Enger on Wednesday, Blue Night by Simone Buchholz on Friday and The Lying Kind by Alison James on Saturday.
This week is a bit mixed. Health and Safety meeting tomorrow morning (boo hiss) followed by the afternoon off and a trip down to London for First Monday Crime (yay!!!!!!). Back to Londinium on Wednesday as I am visiting a unit but otherwise I will be desk bound, no doubt messing with something in excel. I usually am and as month end has been and gone while I was in other meetings, I have quite a bit to catch up on. My life is so glam. Not. Did manage to book tickets for the Orenda Roadshow in Warwick in a couple of weeks though, so not all bad.
Have a fabulous week all. See you on the other side.
