NieR Reincarnation x Final Fantasy XIV Atarase - Apocalyptic Performer (fanmade if it wasn't obvious enough)

My soon-to-be Warrior of Light Atarase! Since the base versions always have more "iconic" weapons, I wanted him to have Ame-No-Habakiri. The reason I checked out my now main job Samurai. Because for some reason I thought you could get it. And then Zenos went and broke it. I will always resent him for that.

I chose Apocalyptic as the adjective because of YoRHa:Dark Apocalypse and Performer as the title since that's a Bravely Default Job that exists (which counts as a Final Fantasy Game) and I doubt they would ever use it for something else... (I'm hoping for an idol character) The background is one of the corners of the Eulmore concept art, which I edited a little bit. I'm thinking about doing a "Divergent Performer" version with my Design Contest weapon in the future, but that won't be until we're allowed to post our entries in march (not that I think I'm going to win lol)

also, I just posted about how I stop my drawing challenge for october because i'm swamped, only to post this lol... i actually started this in august and was putting off rendering it for weeks and for some reason i just sat down and finished it today... i'm pretty happy how it turned out...!

This is one of those days again that I am thankful for the job that I currently have.

I am a bookkeeper/accountant for a chain of Montessori in Australia. I started working for my current employer in Nov 2017. Prior to this, I worked for a holiday home rental/real estate company based in the US (but they also had the same line of businesses in Canada, Europe, UAE, and Australia) as a Purchasing/Accounting Officer turned Assistant of the CEO/Owner.

Let’s have a story time first about my previous job because I think its one of the strenuous and stressful job I have ever worked in the course of my ‘career’. Its slightly understandable since I worked closely with the CEO, but not from the start. During my first few months at that company, I was just their Purchasing Officer. My main responsibility was to make sure that all items that we need for the holiday homes, from toilet papers to furnitures, are bought, paid for, and delivered. I do internal bookkeeping and other accounting related tasks for them too.

Then one day, one of our manager told us that the owner/CEO was in need of an assistant and they asked me if I would take on the job. Its not necessarily a promotion because I didn’t get any monetary appraisal out of it, but young me being the people pleaser that I am, agreed to do it.

To summarize my experience working with old boss, its was kind of a nightmare. It made me so stressed that I would even dream about my job. Its so bad that even on my days off, my boss would still call me. Imagine you’re in Boracay with the love of your life, then suddenly you’re bombarded with calls from your boss. He would make me order flowers for his wife, make me find where the nearest pharmacy in LA is, and work on legal papers for his businesses in UAE. On top of being his P.A., I still had to do purchasing jobs, and keep some of his staff in line, and talk to all the suppliers, and make sure his credit cards are paid for, checked, and reconciled!

And then, after working for them for a year and a half, I started asking for a raise, because I clearly deserved it.

I didn’t received anything, except for an email saying that I did not bring any money into the company. So the only way you could get a raise in that company is only if your sales are good. But news flash I am not on sales so how TF can I even?

After receiving that email, I resigned so fast that I didn’t even render 30 days, or two weeks, or even a day to turn over work. I felt betrayed. I was a freelancer so I didn’t have any contract that would compel me to turn over work. My boss, tried to talk to me and make a counter offer. But y’know, I never tried to entertain them again because it was clear to me how little they think about their employees, and I know I deserved better.

After I quit that, I didn’t have a plan or anything. I had savings but I guess that was enough for me to go on for a few months. Thankfully, my boyfriend now husband was there for me. He was actually the one who made me realize that I really need to quit because of how shitty I’ve been treated. He was also more anxious than me that I lost my job. But I was positive that I can get a new job sooner than he think.

I resigned from that job on the last week of October 2017. I applied for my current job on the 1st week of November 2017, got hired after 2 weeks, and I started working a week after I got hired.

So far I am very happy with the current job that I have. The salary is competitive. Monetary appraisal almost every year. ✨Flexi Time✨, I can start working early or late, as long as all your tasks for the day are done. I have work-life balance. I also don’t have to work if its holidays in Australia like today, but I still get paid and they dont deduct it from my leaves. Same with Philippine holidays, we can opt not to work and still get paid, or go to work and get paid double. Lol.

And one of the bestest thing about my job is my boss. She is so kind and understanding, that I can have leaves if I just want to take care of my child (like today because she’s got a fever). They also approved my 4-month Maternity Leave when I got pregnant in 2018, the expanded maternity leaves were not yet in effect back then. She also understands if we wanted to take a day off just because we feel like it and make us not feel guilty about it.

The company is very appreciative of everyone in the team especially this pandemic, and I feel thankful to be in this kind of working environment where one treats you like family.
