Realizing that the reason I really liked the first HTTYD movie as a kid wasnât because of any normal reason it was because I wanted to be Toothless
I didnât want to be the one befriending a âmonsterâ I wanted to be the monster reluctantly trusting a human. I didnât want to study this fascinating new creature I wanted to be the creature being studied whoâs just in it for the food. I didnât want to be the one riding a dragon I wanted to be the fucking dragon because thatâs infinity cooler
#does anyone else relate or is this the neurodiversity again#anyway I realized this because I randomly remembered that one scene#of Hiccup staring at Toothless on the forest floor immobilized by that catapult thing he fired#a terrifying experience for both of them#mostly (biased opinion) for Toothless bc like this human has just shot you down from the sky and now that youâre injured and trapped he#comes up to you and heâs got a knife#thatâs certain death for a dragon#but he doesnât kill him !! he frees him !! thatâs beautiful I love this movie#I should rewatch httyd#just the first one tho I donât reallyyy careee ab the sequels#anyway#.txt

thinks about the way toothless shook off drago's bewilderbeast's control with love. the way hiccup tells him that he Knows toothless would never hurt him, would never hurt stoick, tells him he's his best friendâhe loves that dragon so, so much, and it is pouring out of him. and toothless hears that. he hears that, and that's what allows him to break free from the bewilderbeast's mind control.
love. his undying, infinite love for hiccup, and hiccup's undying, infinite love back.
and the way drago's bewilderbeast submitted to toothless, even though drago was screaming at it to attack. he trained that creature by weaponizing the trauma he gave it to force it to submit. and it was for nothing, in the end. drago fell into the sea and drowned. the bewilderbeast bowed to toothless, the triumphant alpha, and left. for all that drago has hurt it, it still has the honor to respect the rules of alpha challenges.
when the fear drago weaponizes against it doesn't work anymore, it has no loyalty to him. it obeys him out of fear, not love. it does not care what happens to him.
the greatest bit of power the bewilderbeast ever gained over the guy who abused it for probably it's whole life was giving him up for dead. was not caring.
but with hiccup and toothless? toothless loves hiccup, and hiccup loves him right back. they are devoted to each other.
and it is incredible that that came out as cleanly as it did.

Honestly, hypothetically speaking, if I was hyper fixated on Bellerophon the way I am with Perseus, I wouldâve written him and Pegasus like Spirit and Little Creek
No itâs not accurate but imagine Pegasus never actually being tamed and actually only helping Bellerophon by his own volition? Imagine Bellerophon slowly realizing that Pegasus is as intelligent as a human and finds out Poseidon was his real father which makes him and Pegasus brothers? The story will still be about hubris and how itâs kinda messed up to only do heroic acts for glory but instead of a goofy ass death the final note of the tale would instead be Bellerophon doing one final truly noble act, and letting Pegasus goâŠ
#idk why Iâm getting feelings over these#but I love a good tragic story#maybe I should rewatch the HTTYD movies#greek mythology#ancient greek mythology#greek pantheon#bellerophon#pegasus#Poseidon#poseidon greek mythology#poseidon god#chimera

thoughts on httyd 3?
I know some people don't love it but honestly I thought it was really really good! an overall nice way to end out a trilogy imo. I respect the choice to have the dragons go to their own world, which means nobody else could make a series on it after that and it would feel like The Ending it was meant to be. same with the way they wrapped up hiccup's character arc and everything,,, its been a minute since I watched it but I remember walking out of the theater emotionally destroyed and then like a week later happy as hell still thinking about it
#i make yet anothet post just for me đ#we have mail :]#sorry answering asks has been SO slow. grounded hours#am playing fnaf camera with having my school laptop open and my parents walking around the house#but i have a Break for a little bit where they arent near me so im sneaky style posting rn#anyway i should rewatch that too. finished httyd 2 last night and its fucked me up as always and im creating about it as always#so persnaps after i watch todays suckening ill find some time for httyd 3#^_^ really do love the movie though#mightttt be an unpopular opinion? idk ive seen a mixed bag of reviews on it#but then again i unironically rewatch race to the edge which a ton of people dont love. so

Natasha: so y/n needs therapy. We know this. So I told her we should get her an emotional support animal. She disagreed saying she was fine. After a bit of back and forth she finally said

Yandere Platonic Bewilderbeast being raised from an egg by a viking woman
Sure! I still need to rewatch HTTYD but since this is not a specific Bewilderbeast, I can do a concept. I still made Darling gender neutral though as it does not change the story I don't think....
Sorry if something is OOC! Hopefully it's not, I tried to keep it vague which should work as this is a rarer species. Most of it is HC.
The dragon was given the name Boreas due to me not wanting to type Bewilderbeast a thousand times. Also, Boreas is a male Bewilderbeast. I'd love feedback :)
Yandere! Platonic! Bewilderbeast with Viking! Darling
Pairing: Platonic/Animal/Pet-Like
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Possessive behavior, Accepting mortality, Desperate dragon not wanting to lose his rider, Cryogenic freezing, Vague if darling is dead or not, Threats.
Wild Bewilderbeast on their own are rare.
There's also only been maybe two cases of tamed Bewilderbeast for one reason or another.
You may have found the egg in the arctic somewhere and decided to take it in to study.
Upon finding the egg you placed it in a safe space within your home to raise.
Not many have seen a young Bewilderbeast and the egg seemed to have no dragon looking after it.
Taking up the job you decide to study the climate needed to raise a Bewilderbeast.
Since dragons and vikings began to coexist with one another, dragon studies have been conducted.
However, Bewilderbeast barely have any research done due to their rarity.
You spent most of your time sketching out the egg during the first few months.
Your home is near glacial waters on Berk.
A decent area to raise your new dragon.
When the spiked dragon egg hatches it wakes you from your slumber.
The moment you see the young Bewilderbeast emerge, you give a smile.
The young dragon isn't that big... yet.
It was comparable to that of a pug in size.
Other vikings wonder how you plan to take care of such a dragon.
Most vikings have something smaller than... well... a Bewilderbeast.
While things may be fine now...
What will you do when it grows?
To that you say... you'll find out.
For the first part of your Bewilderbeast's maturity you keep the dragon in your house.
The smaller dragon follows you everywhere.
His favorite time is when you fish, the dragon nudging you for food.
Due to the dragon's nature you name him Boreas.
Boreas was given his name due to his love of frost lakes and the out of control freezing water he keeps blowing around.
Boreas sees you as his parent.
Even when he became the size of a great dane dog, the size where you try to train him, he lumbers around you with excitement.
You learn that most of your training with Boreas occurs in the water.
Boreas has no wings and is a tidal class dragon, leaving you to train him in swimming and hunting instead.
You have to be careful as the freezing water would harm you if you were clumsy.
When Boreas was still able to fit in your home he was reclusive towards other vikings.
His species is usually non-aggressive, but it appeared he grew territorial.
The growing beast often grunted at you to stay in your home.
You have to ease him by rubbing his face, growing tusks not yet pointed.
He had to get used to people and other dragons....
At night Boreas would either block your home's door to prevent anyone from coming in or he's sleeping in the middle of your home.
It was a pain to convince Boreas he had to start living in the water instead of your home.
He was getting too big and probably needed to start an ice nest at some point.
Many on Berk heard Boreas's roars and whines as you tried to get him used to staying in the water.
Some would complain... but your journal full of Boreas's growth was important.
After this, years passed.
Boreas grows more in the water, soon towering over many homes on Berk.
Everyone knows him as your dragon.
A young dragon prince who'll have his own kingdom some day.
Bewilderbeast have the ability to control and provide for dragons, that's why they're seen as royalty.
The unfortunate thing is... Boreas will take awhile before fully hitting adulthood.
Even with him at this size... you had aged to your 60's.
You were coming to terms with the fact you'll... die soon.
Boreas notices how distant you become when looking at him, your dragon.
You reflect in your journal on all the times you rode Boreas across the freezing waters and cared for the young beast fondly.
You stare at the nest he created from the dock.
The spiked icicles glimmer in the sunlight... a beautiful sight made by your dragon.
You smile softly before Boreas sits in front of you, body covering your view.
"Boreas." You command, the dragon staring at you expectantly. "You are aware I won't... be here anymore, right?"
The dragon doesn't entirely understand your meaning but the grim look on your face tells him enough.
The dragon makes a groaning noise before sinking into the water.
He wants you to ride him.
Softly you get onto the dragon you raised from an egg and allow Boreas to take you to his nest.
The dragon places you on a platform in his nest, allowing you to sit.
The dragon then roars softly.
"... Boreas, why did you bring me here?"
With a soft growl you realize what he means.
"Boreas, you can't- I promise I'll find a successor to be your new rider. You can't do this...!"
Boreas has a hesitant look in his eyes.
The dragon refuses to lose his rider.
You can barely defend yourself when Boreas breathes freezing water upon you.
By the time the assault ends you're cryogenically frozen to the dragon's nest.
A frozen look of fear on your face.
Berk assumes you've died due to your age.
Not many try and attempt to enter the nest of Boreas either.
Mostly because those who try to enter are met with an aggressive and territorial Boreas, the dragon with no owner threatening any with death if they try to enter.
Boreas accepts no other rider.
The Bewilderbeast decides a solitary life is all he wishes for now.
That's what many on Berk assume, at least.
In reality, Boreas has a rider.
He has one rider.
You're his rider... whom he keeps in his nest for decades in a frozen sleep.
In the dragon's mind you never left him... you're still his rider and he's still your dragon.

Hope not late! 25 , 5 and 28đđ
Nope not late at all!!
25. Which character(s) would you actively avoid? Personally, you would not see me anywhere near Vil, Rook or Sebek.
I can appreciate Vil's efforts to have people more self-confident in their own image however I absolutely despise how forceful he goes about it, especially with Epel and the dance troupe. If I EVER caught him trying to change parts of myself that I'm proud of (my australian accent, my nerdy sense of fashion, etc.) it would be ON SIGHT- (Can you tell I'm still not over Book 5?)
For Rook, i can say I..... respect his dedication and loyalty to his beliefs. However? That man... he scares me... Also, i'm still extremely salty over the VDC/SDC results WE SHOULD HAVE WON THAT AND WE LOST TO THE TWST EQUIVILANT OF BABY SHARK- Rook, i don't care about your reasonings for why we weren't at our best, I've seen the video performance AND THE NRC TRIBE FUCKING NAILED IT!!!
And then our croccy boi- Now don't get me wrong, I do love Sebek as a member of the first year gang of idiots. I also don't know a lot about him personally since I've only known him in events and havent started Book 7 yet. From what I have seen, he does annoy me a lot with his blatant disregard and disrespect to anyone who isn't Malleus or Lilia. His ego and his racism also really piss me off and make me wanna slap some sense into him. I understand it comes from a place of self-loathing but dude, PLEASE read the room for once and not screech our ears off. I'm certain that I would eventually befriend him but if we actually met face to face, it would be a miracle for me to not punch him 1 minute after his insults.
5. If you could have any unique magic / signature spell in the game, which would you choose and why?
Ooooh I've never thought about that until now actually. Personally, i would want something that would be useful and practical both in a day to day life or in a fight since I'm not very physically strong. Going with that idea, i'd more than likely pick either Split Card or Paint The Roses/Doodle Suit. Multiple me's to help me do chores around the house or distract someone in a fight? YES PLEASE!! I also have a lot of sensory issues so I feel like Paint the Roses would really help me eat the things i need to or make a certain texture that feels funny to me turn comfortable. We've also seen how useful it can be in a fight during Riddle's Overblot when Trey turned the rosebush into cards and saved us.
If just for fun though, I'd love to try out any of Savanaclaw's UM's/SS's. Now THAT would be chaotic heheh.
28. What is the TWST related content that you've produced that you are most proud of?
I personally really love my HTTYD x TWST fic that i've been writing. Knowing myself, I probably wont ever finish/post it so I'll have what I've written linked here for anyone who's interested in my favourite brainworm lol. Bella is a very special oc near and dear to my heart as she's the first one that I've enjoyed writing for since being kicked out of home over a year ago. She gave me back my creativity and I couldn't be more thankful for it.
Right now, I've even been imagine a Fairly OddParents x TWST fic in my head which I think would be a BLAST to write, where my Twisted version of Timmy Turner (a girl called Izzy) would use their rule free wish to be a part of Wanda, Cosmo and Poof/Peri's family as their bio daughter when they're no longer her godparents and becomes a half-fairy hybrid in the process. The idea of a "magicless" girl at NRC who out of nowhere suddenly can not only make but GRANT wishes that bend the laws of reality around her is absolutely hilarious to me. Haha take that you pricks, you thought I was weak? BOOM you're a hedgehog, now you really are a prick. Rewatching FOP and seeing how Timmy can be such a menace/pos really makes me think he would fit in GREAT amongst NRC lol.
I'm also really proud of the Card edits I've done for other people where I turn their OC's into different rated cards so it looks like it's from the game. Seeing all the different kinds of OC's and hearing about their characters is so amazing.
Feel free to send in any more asks or questions!! I love interacting with the Twst Community <3

So I was just rewatching RTTE and I think I found my favorite episode, and itâs definitely Sandbusted.
Everything about this episode is great. I love the uncommon duos that are shown, like Hiccup and Snotlout, and Fishlegs and Astrid.
Like how you can tell Snotlout really wants to help Hiccup with his gift for Astrid and just likes annoying Hiccup, and how Fishlegs is acting as Astridâs wingman.
The twins as usual are great, with Tuffnut having the trigger word âtearsâ and Ruff comforting him đ„č. Also the twins helping Astrid with their great fashion sense, amazing.
All the hiccstrid too đ. Hiccup tells her that sheâs the greatest gift he could ever have like what??!! Theyâre so cute and for what. And when Astrid was trying to avoid Hiccup, that was kind of funny. When she said Stormfly was just excited to see Johan Stormfly looked at her like âbitch what??â
Or when Astrid is frantically looking for Hiccup and even lashes out at the twins because sheâs so worried. But she does apologize, she learned from an earlier episode not to be too harsh on them, even though Tuffâs comment about Hiccups leg was a little out of pocket.
Even the new dragon in this episode was great. I personally really like the Sandbuster, itâs glass thing is really cool, and itâs model is really interesting too, I really like how it looks.
Oh! And when Hiccup and Snotlout disappear, Hookfang freaks out and starts digging in the sand cus heâs worried đ„č, heâs the cutest (heâs my favorite dragon in the whole franchise so ima little biased)
But my all time favorite part about this episode is Snotloutâs obvious character growth. From HTTYD 1 and Rob/DoB and even a little from the first few seasons of RTTE, Snotlout has grown and matured a lot throughout the series. But you can really tell just how much heâs grown to respect Hiccup as a leader and care/value him as a friend in this episode. He really tries to help Hiccup âfixâ his gift for Astrid, even though Hiccups gift is already perfectâ€ïž, still, the necklace idea was great. And he tells Amus they werenât leaving without Hiccup, when in earlier shows, he definitely would of got out of there to save himself. And how he just trusts Hiccup can get them out of there instead of fighting him on it and saying he should be in charge. You can still see arrogant and obnoxious Snotlout was still there, now heâs just mature enough to realize his own strengths and Hiccups strengths. And he knew that he probably wouldnât be too much help in this situation by coming up with a plan. I donât know if any that made sense but I tried. Iâm not good with words đ„Č
I still love how Hiccup and Snotlout kept their sassy and head butting relationship though! The little comments through out this episode really made appreciate this duo more.
Snotlout: Aaargh!! I hate being confused!
Hiccup: Really? I figured youâd be used to it by now.
Snotlout: Heard that-
Snotlout: Oowww! You break this stuff itâs really sharp owowowow-
Hiccup: Then donât break it
Snotlout: A little late for that- but thank youâșïž
Snotlout: I donât know just do what he says, heâs always right so thereâs really no point.
Hiccup: What was that Snotlout?
Snotlout: Youâre like a ray of light. Lighting my way. Super shiny! Never mind.
Hiccup: yeah yeah, uh huhâŠ
Those are some of my favorite moments, but yah all in all this episode is by far my favorite. I will definitely be talking more about this series in the future so be prepared.

I WOULDNâT KILL A DRAGONâŠ
When I was a kid, I was very different from my peers. I stood many inches taller, was a different race than the rest and I couldnât speak their language as fluently (yet). I wanted so much to fit into what I thought society was, and looked however everyone else looked. This made for a very miserable childhood which developed into a stigma that carried into adulthood.
When I started working, I didnât do too well at first - not because I wasnât good at my jobs, but because I just didnât like the work I was doing. But I had this image of âWho I Should Beâ and was hyper aware of how far short I fell.
This is why loving HTTYD is more than just childhood nostalgia, because upon a rewatch this last weekend - it dawned on me - Hiccup was never a coward, lazy, bad luck, etc. he was stuck in a funk of what he sees should be his reality and what his reality is.
Actually, Gobber was the only one who knew that Hiccup just had to find a way to accept himself for who he is. Obviously, he wouldnât know that who Hiccup truly is is what the village needs to propel them to the future, but Gobber knew enough that Hiccup would not be able to be like a typical Viking because he wasnât a typical Viking.
His father knew that too - begrudgingly - but he understood that Hiccup was different and he likewise just didnât know how to place him and where Hiccup would eventually sit in the village.
But Hiccup took time before he got to realising that he wouldâve never been happy being like the other Viking kids. What he loved he discovered when he allowed himself the room to step outside his comfort zone and listen to that voice on the inside telling him to find out more about dragons.
Hiccup is a Viking. His fate ties very closely to dragons, but not in the way that it has for centuries. It tied to the future, and that was why he would never fit in in the village as he is. As the village was changing, it needed the leader to bring about that change. Another Stoic wouldâve spelt defeat for Berk in the long run of succession (think about it, how long were their ways of living going to let survive?).
Hiccup was confined to the environment he was in. And that stifled his progress. And what if, this mundanity, that feeling of being âtrappedâ in a dead end job or community be a sign that we need to outgrow our placement? We need to give ourselves permission to just accept that weâre different and go after that spirit of adventure tugging at our heart.
When Hiccup stopped caring what the villagers thought, and focused on learning about dragons and building that contraption to help Toothless fly - he shifted his lifeâs trajectory to being what he thinks he should be to what he actually is.
And thatâs why, a favourite scene of mine is the one leading up to Test Drive - that trial and error, focus and determination to learn, live and find that adventure within the mundanity of failure and mistakes. You can see him beaming with purpose, working on himself and frankly coming into his own.
To be fair, before he met Toothless, he obviously didnât know what he should be, because without Toothless there would be no revelation that heâs a dragon rider. So, it made sense that he was lost, and thought (just like everyone else did) that he had to be like his dad. But when the opportunity came the best thing Hiccup did was allow himself to embrace his differences and not kill Toothless, accepting his quirk forever whatever it may mean.
From this point on, his whole life takes a drastic turn and he becomes everything he was made out to be, and I guess what Iâve been looking for - is that change, because I think Iâm also in an environment where I donât relate to the others though I know I am meant to do something here. I just canât tell yet - what.

Choose your favorite!
Time to fly!
Vote in the other polls!
What fans say:
How To Train Your Dragon:
The message was just nice. I have a lot of nostalgia for it. I used to be a huge dragon nerd as a kid and dragons just weren't that prevalent in media here, especially not as friendly figures. I still love HTTYD and it's sequels nowadays.
It was one of my favorite movies as a kid and one of the few movies I watched that wasn't a barbie movie, it's just really cool.
Best movie featuring dragons period. The pure wish fulfillment fantasy of having a highly intelligent fantasy creature companion that can fly and doesnât mind being ridden like a horse, therefore also the best execution of the dragon rider trope in all of fiction. Extremely funny, adding to the comedy is the fact that only adults have Scottish accents and all the teens have an American accent. So good that even its tv show follow up was decent by extension. The bit where Hiccup is trying to earn Toothless' trust and they start to work together changed me on a fundamental level.
I LOVE IT SO MUCHSHJKBSKHGDK I have a bone dysplasia which causes some bones to be a little bit more hollow and whenever I would feel a pain in my top back, 8 year old me was like ''woah I'm growing wings its my time to fly like toothless'' lol and it was always a dream of mine to fly. Weirdly enough I could relate to toothless because the "not being able to fly but you should be" felt like an allegory to a lot of my life! It gave me hope when he WAS able to after the help of others + the care he always needed + that mechanic wing thing made me feel like with the right ''recipe'' could help me get better too. My favourite scene is the first flight!! I love the animation for it, it makes me feel like im flying through the clouds too! The soundtrack is amazing too, I still cry to the songs.
I could write an entire essay about how much I love this movie, it truly is one of the best films ever made to me. Utterly flawless on both a technical level and a story-telling level. Not to mention the score oh my GOD the score of this movie changed my life. There are too many scenes that are so impactful, but the Forbidden Friendship scene has to be one of the best. Test Drive too.
This is literally my favorite movie of all time. This movie got me through the worst times in my life. Itâs about love and friendship and all that lovely goopy stuff and itâs also fucking gorgeous.
THE cinematic masterpiece of our generation. On god.
This movie is an absolute masterpiece, the animation is pretty, the score is perfect, the relationship between Toothless and Hiccup is so sweet, Toothless is absolutely adorable. Definitely one of DreamWork's best films.
It's a beautifully animated movie about an unconventional viking boy named Hiccup finding his place in a world where dragons and vikings are constantly at odds, and how he changes the world around him. The dragon designs are unique and beautiful, and the vikings are larger than life and match the exaggerated setting.
Who on Tumblr DOESN'T want a dragon best friend I ask you. I would kill to have what Hiccup & Toothless have.
It does a brilliant job balancing tropes in a way that subverts and plays into them. There is so much in it for both adults and kids, it doesn't look like other animated films, it feels more grounded and in that realism it becomes so beautiful. The friendship in the film feels very real despite one of the characters being unable to talk! Forbidden Friendship scene is, in my opinion, the greatest scene in the history of cinema. The music, the lighting, the cinematography, the pacing, the emotions, it is practically perfect in every way. I could go on but I think ya get it.
God this movie defined my childhood and it's still so good when I rewatch it now. I'm guessing you'll have had this submitted a good few times bc it goddamn deserves it but. Hiccup is so relatable and !! dragons !! big cute dragons whose animation models are based on cats!! based fr
I have many fond childhood memories of this movie and in particular I loved how my cousin would "talk" for Toothless (cousin was babysitting us when we first watched the movie). Another thing is The SCORE. The music is iconic and awe inspiring to this day. That first time when Hiccup and Toothless fly together and it Works and the score absolutely goes HARD, I loose my breath every time. It's great. Also have you seen Toothless he's an adorable dragon and a badass, what's not to love?
Makes me cry every time because Hiccup and Toothless are such good friends and they love each other and end up as two halves of a boy dragon soulmate sandwich also the music is extremely good who doesnât like dragons anyway.
It's the story of a beautiful friendship forming between a boy who doesn't fit in and a dragon who is the last of his kind. It's so cute. And it shows positive representation of disability, Hiccup and Toothless become disabled in ways that meaningfully parallel each other. Hiccup makes a prosthetic tail fin! And Toothless is just so cute!
The sound track is amazing
Honestly everything is phenomenal. It has a good use of comedy and an excellent story and character development. There are also countless beautiful and awe-inspiring scenes supported by an amazing score.
Up:
It is a very emotional movie about an old man learning to still enjoy life even though his wife died.
Such a beautiful film about loss
