how about some angst for established bucktommy? i only got vibes for you: held at gunpoint on a call, one of them gets in between the gun and the other, wanting to shield them 👀❤️
[Thanks for the request! I see your angst and raise you: they're both idiots trying to protect each other. Hope you like this! Also, they're still...technically on call right? ❤️]
In hindsight, Tommy should have known the other shoe would eventually drop. He should have prepared himself for it, should have anticipated that the universe wouldn't let happiness linger around him for too long. But it was easy to forget, wrapped up in Evan's orbit, with his blinding grins and the way he wore his heart so openly on his sleeve. It made Tommy drop his guard, lulled him into a sense of security.
That's not to say it was all sunshine and smiles. They had their bad days—days when they got snappy with each other or when an argument dragged on for longer than it should. There were cold shoulders, fueled by pride or stubbornness, but those days never lasted long. One of them always caved, and they'd find their way back to each other, realizing that whatever it was just wasn't worth staying mad over. It had taken Evan a while to truly believe that Tommy wasn't going anywhere, but eventually, even he came to accept it.
So now, a year after their failed first date, Tommy's old house was cluttered with moving boxes and scattered belongings, as they tried to find permanent spots for Evan's things. The chaos drove Tommy a little insane, having to step over things and deal with the mess of combining their lives. But if it meant Evan was in his bed every night? It was more than worth it in Tommy's opinion.
The morning, though, should have been the first clue that the day was about to turn to shit.
Evan had an early shift, so by the time Tommy woke up, his side of the bed was cold—a sure deduction of points right off the bat. Then came the next blow: apparently, Evan had left in a rush and, in doing so, had used up the last of the oat milk. Which meant Tommy was now doomed to drink black coffee. He'd sighed in resignation as he spotted the sticky note attached to the fridge that read, "Sorry babe, I'll buy more after shift! Ily <3"—but pocketed it for safekeeping despite the frustration. Sure, it was a small inconvenience. But still, it set the tone, didn't it? Little things tend to pile up.
The biggest clue? The storm. It was meant to be stormy all day, and in Tommy's experience—other than meeting Evan—storms never led to anything good, especially for Harbour. People tended to get careless, acting like they weren't facing weather they were completely unprepared for.
Tommy's instincts were proven right when, not even halfway through his shift, they were called out to a massive pileup on the highway. Multiple vehicles were involved, and dozens of people needed transport to hospitals. So, as always, Tommy did what he did best: jumped into a helicopter and flew out to the scene with his team.
From the bird's-eye view, he hissed in sympathy at the sight. The wreckage was bad—mangled metal, cars overturned, and scattered debris everywhere. It wasn't pretty. But there wasn't time to dwell on that. As soon as they touched down, his team sprang into action.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the familiar 118 number at the scene. Over the past year, he and Evan had crossed paths at work more often than either had probably anticipated, but never for anything small. When Harbour and the 118 were both on-site, it usually meant there was no time to spare, not even for a quick hello.
Tommy knew how this went. Most of the time, he didn't even leave the cockpit while his team prepped patients for transport. And today wasn't any different. He stayed put, eyes scanning the scene, focusing on his job. He sighed, knowing he'd have to wait until they were home to talk to Evan. Though, for a brief moment, he thought he saw a familiar pair of wet curls rushing through the chaos, the saw in hand.
It wasn't until the fourth round trip that the storm really began to pick up, and Tommy found himself battling the wind and gusts of rain to safely land on the hospital's helipad. The helicopter shook slightly as the weather worsened, and Tommy had to grip the controls a little tighter, to guide the aircraft down through the increasingly erratic winds.
Just as they touched down, the call came in over his headset to ground them. The storm had escalated to the point where it wasn't safe to fly anymore. Tommy let out a frustrated sigh, knowing that even though it was the right call, it meant he wouldn't be able to get back to the scene. Grounded meant he would be stuck in the hospital, waiting out the weather.
His thoughts drifted back to Evan—out there in the middle of it. So, when Tommy was the last one in the helicopter, he took a moment to pull out his phone, hoping for a text or update. But the screen was empty. No messages, no missed calls. He knew he shouldn't worry—Evan had handled worse, and a storm was just another part of the job. But despite that knowledge, his stomach clenched uncomfortably.
Tommy pocketed the phone, feeling a bit ridiculous for worrying so much. He exited the helicopter, and even in the quick dash to the hangar door, the rain managed to half-drench him. His pilot suit clung uncomfortably to his skin, the chill seeping in. He grimaced, brushing a hand through his damp hair.
"Great," he muttered to himself, shivering slightly as he pushed open the door and stepped inside. From there, he navigated the labyrinth of hallways, heading down toward the ED. After years on the job, Tommy had learned a few secrets from some of the nurses—like the fact that the coffee in the cafeteria near the ED was much better than what they had in other wings of the hospital.
It seemed like luck was on his side when Tommy noticed the familiar set of curls hunched over the nurse's station as he entered the ED. Evan hadn't noticed him yet, which gave Tommy a moment to take in the sight—completely drenched, looking like a wet rat after being caught in the storm. Tommy had to bite back a laugh at how disheveled he looked.
"Hey, handsome," Tommy grinned as he slunk up to where Evan stood.
Evan jumped slightly, glancing up from his notes. His expression softened into a tired but genuine smile, water still dripping from his curls.
"Hey yourself," he said, brushing his wet hair out of his eyes. "What are you still doing here?
"Dropped off the last patient. We're grounded for now, thanks to the weather," Tommy replied with a shrug.
"You've got time?" Evan asked, his voice a little too eager as his eyes darted around the busy ED. "I could probably make up some excuse with Bobby... We could grab coffee?"
Tommy raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Is my coffee going to have some milk this time?"
Evan gave him a sheepish grin, stepping closer until their shoulders nearly brushed. Without hesitation, he reached out and laced his fingers through Tommy's. "I promise, I'll grab some on the way home."
Home. Tommy felt that familiar flutter in his chest at the word again. Evan had started to throw it around more casually lately, and each time it hit Tommy in a way he wasn't quite used to. It made everything feel more real—not just some wishful daydream Tommy conjured up when his place felt too lonely with only him in it.
"Mhm, I have that in writing too," Tommy reminded him playfully, squeezing Evan's hand. "But, yeah, I've got time."
Just overhead, a loud roar of thunder echoed through the hospital, followed by a sharp crack of lightning that struck somewhere nearby. A moment later, the lights began to flicker and dim, casting the hall in an eerie, unstable glow. Instinctively, Tommy looked up at the ceiling, his grip on Evan's hand tightening ever so slightly.
"Great," Evan muttered, his gaze following Tommy's, as the lights struggled to stabilize. "Just what we needed—a power outage in the middle of all this."
"The generators should kick in any moment now," Tommy mumbled, more to himself than to Evan, his eyes still fixed on the flickering lights above. They stopped flickering.
When Tommy would look back at that moment, guilt-ridden as he replayed the events over and over in his mind, he would think of all the things he should have done. He should have grabbed Evan's hand and dragged him right out of the hospital, ignoring every instinct as a firefighter and instead said, "Screw it". He should have known, sensed it—should have put Evan first, before everything went sideways.
Except, he didn't.
When the shouts and screams erupted from a room somewhere to the side, Tommy didn't do any of those things. Instead, he frowned, shared a look with Evan, and stayed put by the nurse's station.
His mind went into a familiar mode: assess, analyze, act. The screams grew louder, panicked voices echoing off the sterile walls, but neither of them moved just yet. They were waiting, watching, gauging the situation. And then, there was no more time.
The next second, a commotion erupted from a nearby room. A shuffle broke out as one man pushed another through the door. Chaos spilled into the hallway. Tommy vaguely heard a nurse's voice shout, urgent:
"Security! Code silver! Active threat in the ED!"
And then a bang.
Tommy blinked against the brief, blinding flash of light that followed, and before he could process what was happening, a body hit the ground with a sickening thud.
Tommy froze. For a split second, everything around him blurred—the gunshots, the chaos, the sound of bodies hitting the ground. It was a moment he'd never fully forgive himself for. His feet were rooted to the floor as security rushed past them, but it didn't matter. The gun was still raised, and another shot rang out.
Another body hit the ground.
The shattering of glass, splintering into a million pieces, finally snapped him back to reality.
Evan was already moving, ripping his hand from Tommy's grip and dropping to the ground to check on the security guard who had fallen. Tommy's heart pounded in his chest, but he forced himself into action, his mind racing to catch up as adrenaline surged through his veins.
A scuffle broke out, the chaos intensifying as some people scrambled to evacuate while few of the staff rushed to help the injured.
For a moment, Tommy lost sight of Evan, the blur of bodies clouding his vision. His heart lurched painfully in his chest, panic clawing at him as he scanned the area frantically, searching for that familiar figure amid the chaos.
He didn't see as the shooter grabbed someone in a choke-hold, with a gun raised to their head. His attention was set somewhere else.
"Evan!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the noise as he finally spotted him crouched. Relief surged through him, but it was short-lived. Just as Tommy moved to get to him, the shooter's attention snapped toward them.
The man's gaze locked onto Evan, and in that split second, Tommy's blood ran cold.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Evan exclaimed, raising his arms slowly, palms open. "We're firefighters! We can help!"
"No, no. Only one of you," he said finally, his voice shaky but determined as he waved the gun between the woman he was holding and their general direction.
Tommy's stomach dropped, a sense of dread settling in like ice in his veins. The shooter was barely in control, panicked and irrational, and every movement felt like it could tip things into disaster. This was spiraling, fast, and Tommy knew it was only going to get worse.
He was no stranger to guns. He'd grown up seeing them in his father's hands, the man recklessly firing off rounds in their backyard when temper mixed with alcohol took over. He'd seen guns in the military, had been trained with them, witnessed firsthand what they could do. He saw it almost daily in the gunshot victims he transported at the back of the chopper - too many lives torn apart by bullets. He had become desensitized to it, to the violence they brought.
If it was pointed at him, his pulse likely wouldn't even spike. His hands wouldn't shake.
But this was different.
Now, his pulse thundered in his ears, and his hands trembled with an intensity that terrified him, because the gun wasn't aimed at him. Instead it was dangerously close to pointing at the one person who meant everything to him— Evan.
The love of his life.
"Okay," Tommy finally managed to force out, though his voice wasn't quite steady. "What do you want?"
The man growled, his eyes wild and darting around the room. "How do I lock the doors?"
A nurse, her hands trembling, hurriedly pulled out a pair of keys from a drawer and held them out, showing them to the man. Tommy's heart sank; it meant their only exit was about to be cut off. The situation was rapidly closing in on them, both figuratively and literally.
But as the shooter's focus shifted toward the nurse, instructing her to do it, Tommy saw it—an opening, a brief moment of distraction.
Without thinking twice, he moved closer to Evan, subtly shifting his stance so he was positioned just enough to shield Evan from a clear shot, should the man spiral even further and snap.
He wasn't sure if Evan noticed the shift, and he didn't care. If something went wrong, he wasn't going to let Evan be the one in the line of fire. If he had to, he'd gladly take the hit first.
There was no universe, no reality in which he'd allow himself to be standing with his hands covered in Evan's blood today. Not ever.
"Tommy," Evan hissed quietly beside him.
Ah, so he did notice. But Tommy didn't dare glance at him, didn't risk looking into Evan's eyes and seeing the concern—or worse, the fear—there. There was too much at stake to get distracted, and Evan was his weak spot. Seeing those emotions would break his focus, distract him—and distractions could get them both killed.
"Hey, they can see where I... They're going to shoot me!" the shooter yelled, panic creeping into his voice.
'Yeah, no shit,' Tommy thought briefly, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. But he stayed silent.
"Hey, you!" The shooter's focus snapped back to them, and Tommy's shoulders tensed, his body instinctively shifting just a little more in front of Evan. "I have to cover the windows! What do I use?"
"I don't know." Tommy replied curtly, his voice clipped.
"How about- how about the sheets?" Tommy took a glance where he gestured toward one of the rooms "Alright, they have lots of those, right? Do it. Now."
Tommy's stomach twisted. He didn't have much choice, but still, he hesitated. His eyes flickered to Evan, who was still on the ground, kneeling next to the security guard as he tried to put pressure on the wound in the shoulder. Moving now would leave Evan completely exposed, utterly vulnerable.
If anything went wrong, if the shooter spiraled even further, Evan wouldn't stand a chance. Not even if he had the fastest reflexes in the world.
It would be an execution.
For a split second, Tommy's world shrunk, zeroing in on that one horrifying thought, the fear tightening its grip on his heart.
But the thought of that combined with Evan—his Evan—didn't compute in Tommy's mind. His brain outright refused to entertain the idea and his body locked up as if physically rejecting the command.
Whether the shooter noticed Tommy's hesitation or simply felt the walls closing in on him, he made a sudden move, shoving the woman he was holding toward Tommy and ordered her to help him.
Fuck.
Tommy finally moved, with a heavy heart, every step feeling like he was walking through a minefield that he might set off with one wrong step. His every instinct screamed at him to stay, to protect Evan, but he had no choice
It felt like betrayal, stepping away from Evan.
Almost like an out-of-body experience, Tommy moved mechanically, helping the woman as they covered the windows, sealing off any visibility into the room and sucking out all the oxygen.
The doctor with the first victim started to talk with the shooter, pulling his attention away. Tommy crept back to Evan, without taking his eyes off the shooter, Tommy squatted down beside Evan. His hand found Evan's instinctively—like it always did—and he squeezed it tightly. Whether it was to reassure Evan or to ground himself, he couldn't tell. Maybe both.
"Listen, I just want to get my girlfriend out of here. I don't want to hurt anybody else, but I will if you get in my way." The shooter's voice wavered as he spun around, his eyes wild and desperate. His gaze locked back onto them, and Tommy felt his muscles tense.
"Hey, you. Back where you were," the man barked, gesturing toward Tommy.
Tommy hesitated, his grip on Evan's hand tightening.
"It's okay. Go," Evan mumbled softly, when Tommy made no move. Tommy glanced down, eyes locking with Evan's for a brief moment, silently pleading for something. To tell him to stay? Maybe?
"Go," Evan repeated, more firmly this time, giving Tommy's hand a squeeze before letting go.
Tommy swallowed hard, his throat tight as he slowly stood, feeling the warmth of Evan's hand slip away. Taking a breath that felt too shallow, he stepped away, forcing his feet to move back to where the shooter had pointed.
Tommy's blood ran cold as the gun swung in Evan's direction, the finger on the trigger making his heart lurch painfully in his chest. The air in the room seemed to freeze.
"You!" the shooter barked, voice harsh and desperate. "Get those cuffs. Now."
Tommy's pulse roared in his ears, panic clawing at him, but he forced himself to stay still, forced himself to swallow the instinct to rush forward.
"Take it easy," Evan said, his voice steady despite the danger. He reached for the cuffs, holding them up for the shooter to see. "I'm getting them. Just... take it easy."
"Cuff him to that desk."
Tommy flinched as the cold metal of the cuff locked around his wrist. He glanced down, frowning in confusion. The metal bit into his skin, his arm instinctively tugging against it, testing for any give. But before he could react further, another click echoed in the air—Evan securing the second cuff to the desk.
Tommy's heart dropped.
And then he felt it—Evan's hand briefly wrapping around his forearm. The words that followed were barely a whisper, soft but devastating.
"I love you," Evan murmured, his voice filled with emotion.
A wave of panic and dread crashed over Tommy, his throat tightening painfully. He shook his head, eyes burning as he met Evan's gaze.
"Don't," Tommy choked out, his voice strained. Don't say it like that. Please.
Suddenly, a commotion broke out from one of the nearby rooms—the same one where the shooter had come from originally. The noise set the man off. He jerked in response, taking several threatening steps closer to them, his movements frantic and unpredictable.
And Tommy couldn't do a damn thing. He couldn't move, couldn't act—his wrist still cuffed to the desk, helpless to stop what was about to happen. He could only watch Evan, without hesitation, moved in front of him, his arm stretching out protectively, shielding Tommy with his own body.
Of course Evan did. Evan, who always wore his heart on his sleeve, who rushed headfirst into things without thinking it through. Evan, who seemed to believe it was his responsibility to protect everyone.
Tommy loved him.
Tommy would never forgive him for this. For being so fucking reckless. As if Tommy needed his protection more than he need him. As if he wasn't Tommy's entire world.
But then the shooter spun around, distracted, pacing erratically as he moved in and out of the room. He could feel Evan tense beside him, could see the wheels turning in his head. His hart seized with paralyzing fear.
"Evan," Tommy hissed, grabbing at his arm, his grip tight with desperation. "Don't. Don't do anything stupid."
Tommy would plead if he needed to. He'd drop to his knees and beg if it meant Evan would stand down. Because he knew Evan. Knew how his mind worked, how he was wired. Evan wasn't the type of man to stand by and do nothing. He wasn't someone who waited for the danger to pass; he ran into it.
And Tommy couldn't lose him. Not like this. Not now, not when they had just really started building their lives together. Not ever.
His grip tightened on Evan's arm, his fingers digging into his skin, until Evan had no choice but to look at him. Evan's jaw tightened, but he didn't say anything. Didn't move. Not yet.
And Tommy clung to that sliver of hope like a lifeline. Even if he knew, deep down, that it was false.
For a fleeting moment, it was nice. Almost comforting.
It last all of a few minutes.
Because the next time the shooter passed by them, Evan, honest to God, lunged at the man.
Tommy's heart stopped.
"No!" Tommy's shout ripped from his throat before he even realized it.
The time stood still.
Tommy's eyes were wide open, unblinking, but it was as if he couldn't see. Maybe it was because Evan's back was turned to him, as he wrestled with the shooter for the gun. Maybe it was because Tommy's mind was too busy processing the raw sound of his own voice—hoarse and desperate—screaming as he pulled against the cuffs with every ounce of strength he had. Or maybe, he did see everything but his brain, in its cruel mercy, refused to let him process it.
It was too much. Too loud. Too fast.
Another bang erupted, deafening in the enclosed space, and Tommy's world stopped.
A body dropped to the floor.
The world tilted on its axis, and Tommy's breath hitched. His heart stopped for one agonizing second.
No. No.
Hands were suddenly on his face, trying to steady him, trying to make him focus. But Tommy couldn't. He flinched at the touch, his body trembling violently, too overwhelmed to respond. He shook his head, refusing to let the scene before him solidify into anything real.
He couldn't look. Couldn't force himself to look.
"Breathe, baby, breathe." Evan's voice cut through the haze, repeating the words like a mantra. "Breathe."
Tommy choked in a ragged breath, his chest tight and painful as the words slowly registered. He blinked, and slowly, too slowly, the world began to come back into focus. Evan was there, right in front of him, alive and breathing, with his hands still cupping Tommy's face, trying to steady him.
Tommy's hands instinctively reached out to touch him, to make sure he was real, even though there were specks of blood splattered across Evan's skin. But the cuffs yanked him back, cutting his reach short. A pitiful sound escaped him, more like a wounded animal than a man.
Evan did it for him, closing the gap, he wrapped himself around Tommy and buried his face in Tommy's neck. It took Tommy longer than it should have to wrap his free arm around Evan, to actually feel his warmth, his solid presence. To know he was really there.
"You're okay," Evan murmured into his neck, his breath warm against Tommy's skin. Soft lips pressed into his neck, bringing a flicker of warmth back into his cold, numb body. "We're okay."
"I hate you," Tommy whispered hoarsely, his voice cracking.
"No, you don't," Evan hummed back, his tone matter-of-fact.
Tommy let out a trembling choked out laugh, his body sagging. "No, I don't," he admitted quietly, finally squeezing Evan tighter.
There were so many things he wanted to say, things he needed to say. He will tell Evan how much he loved him. He will berate him for doing something so stupid, so dangerous. He will make sure Evan didn't leave his sight for days, maybe weeks.
But all that would come later. After his heart stopped racing like it was about to leap out of his chest. After his mind could fully register that Evan was here, alive, and okay.
Because there was an after.

New Years Kiss
Orm Marius x fem! reader
_
Orm Marius couldn't admit he liked you.
As the son of King Orvax, he was prideful, cunning, malicious and stubborn. He always knew he'd have to fight for his throne, and because of that reality, he's spiteful.
But he's also Atlannas' son. He never spent much time thinking of how they both cared to the brink of it hurting them, or how his love was displayed in actions whilst hers was in encouraging her son to do better with his newfound freedom. In looks, he is his mothers son, but his pride held onto him steadfast.
"(Y/N) is coming."
"(Y/N)?"
Arthur mused, "oh now someone's paying attention."
Orm said nothing but rolled his eyes. His elder brother, Arthur, had a habit of teasing him. Sure, he had grown used to it and had his own retorts, but it had only gotten worse since Arthur figured out that Orm has a crush.
On a human.
"She's hosting, so you better not fuck this up."
Orm sneered, "what are you talking about?"
"New Years Kiss, little bro!" He went to mess up his hair, but Orm dodged him, "when the clock strikes midnight, humans have a tradition of sharing a kiss," Mera explained to him whilst feeding Jr..
"I don't know why you're telling me this because I have no intentions of courting her-"
"When you sound like that, you don't," Arthur cut in, his voice loud even from the kitchen.
Orm is Atlantean, (Y/N) is human.
Logically, it would never work out.
So why even try?
But even as Orm would remind himself of such a glaring difference, the thought would vanish the moment he saw her. He had seen hundreds of Atlantean women in his time, even mermaids, but somehow they were dull in his eyes compared to her. She wasn't just different because she's human, but she genuinely cared about everyone around her. He first claimed she was strange for giving her food to the homeless, or how she was odd for asking the barista how her day was.
Because it's a pure act of innocence that he hadn't seen in a long time.
And its what drew him in even further.
Despite his claims, Orm still found himself picking off any piece of lint or fur on his clothing and made sure he smelt just like that candle she loved so much.
And a dash of that cologne that Arthur wears.
"Oh, he just keeps growing! Jr, I thought we talked about this. You need to stay cute forever," (Y/N) loved seeing Jr.. Her face lit up in joy anytime she saw the little prince, and Orm felt a pang of jealousy.
Then realized.
He's jealous of a toddler.
"Help yourself! The potato skins are almost done," You had done the most to avoid Orms intense gaze but with those eyes? It was nearly impossible.
"Orm, how was your Christmas?" You asked, a tad bit nervous as he came inside and took his shoes off. He was always respectful of your home.
"Arthur gave me a fish."
"Did you name it?"
He looked at you for a moment, ". . .his name is Triton."
His deadpan voice with that line made you smile, and you brought out a small box from your back.
"What's this?" He asked carefully, watching it in your hand.
"Well since I couldn't make it for Christmas, I thought you could have it today," you explained, a small feeling bubbling in your stomach. You saw it and immediately thought of him, but never saw Orm wear jewelry a day in his life.
"It's for me?" He felt his heart skip a beat as he took it carefully and unwrapped it. It was a small box and went it opened up, his pupils dilated at the gift inside.
"I know how it feels to not be able to go home," you explained as he pulled it out of the box, admiring it, "so I thought you'd like something that reminds you of it."
It's a ring with carefully carved ocean waves along the side. You could relate to Orm in that way - being exiled. Well, it wasn't exactly exile, but it was always one way or the highway with your parents.
Choosing your own happiness came with a cost.
"And it's stainless steel, so it won't tarnish in the water," I added nervously.
"It's beautiful," he finally spoke up, slipping it on his right hand. He met your gaze with a nervous smile, "you didn't have to-"
"(Y/N), I think the potato skins are burning!"
"Fuck!" You shouted, running to the kitchen. Orm admired the ring for a bit longer, enjoying the warmth it brought it him before joining the others.
The evening was quite eventful, to say the least.
Arthur ate half of the food all whilst sharing pictures of Jr., and then Mera had started to feel ill. You apologized if something was overcooked or undercooked, but Mera insisted she had been feeling off all day.
Leaving you and Orm.
Alone.
He sat on the couch like a stuff board, suddenly hyperaware of his own breathing and kept glancing at you across the couch.
"I-"
"What-"
You chuckled, "sorry. You first."
Orm said softly, "it is nothing of importance. Please."
"Want to see the fireworks? It's almost midnight," Orm hadn't heard much of them before being banished to the surface. Only that they were loud and he refused to go outside.
But for you?
He'd say yes.
Since it was cold outside, you grabbed a blanket from the couch and wrapped it around you before slipping on shark slippers.
"I'm sorry if this has been a rough New Years Eve. I'm usually a better cook than tonight," you apologized, "I've just been feeling weird lately."
"Is it a human sickness?" Orm questioned, still keeping a small distance from you, for fear his heart might burst from his chest.
You blushed lightly, taking a small step closer to him, "something like that."
"Well. . .I hope you feel better."
Dense as always.
You took the initiative to step closer to him, your hands keeping themselves on the railing of your porch. The wood creaked lightly, and Orm wanted nothing more than to hold your hands.
"Humans get cold easily, correct?" He knew this but wanted to sound dumber for this.
"Yeah, why?" You asked, looking up at him.
He said nothing else but gathered your hands in his, cupping them together. You faced him but looked down, completely sure your face was scarlet.
"Guess I should have worn gloves," you muttered.
"I like it better this way," Orm confessed, meeting your gaze in your own shock.
It's now or never, he thought.
"I hated your kind," what a fucking way to start, "and what you did to the ocean. I wanted to blame all of you, for surely no one was innocent. . .but I have never seen something so pure in their efforts. You are shameless with your kindness, and it used to befuddle me. Why would anyone do things without expectations? Nothing to return back?"
"Orm," you breathed out. Surely he wasn't going to say it? Surely the fucking Prince of Atlantis didn't fall for a land dweller?
"You're incredible," He confessed, a small smile teasing at his lips, "You're the best of your people, and. . .and I. . ." He felt like words couldn't describe what he felt.
So he led with action, and kissed you.
His lips were nothing like you'd imagined. They were soft, and supple against your own, which you were lucky enough to remember your strawberry chapstick today. You leaned further into the kiss, and one hand came up to cradle your cheek. He wanted to continue on, memorize your lips against his - the very euphoria it brought him.
But a loud bang separated you both.
The fireworks started, bright reds, greens, blues - all lighting up the sky. You leaned your head against his chest with a laugh, "that scared the shit out of me."
His arms wrapped around your frame, ensuring your warmth as the colors in the sky danced in his eyes.
"I was your New Years kiss," He said absent-mindedly, and you looked up at him.
"Did Arthur tell you to plan this?"
He chuckled, "oh no. He may be older but he's not that smart."
"You're so mean," you playfully smacked his chest.
"But never to you," He planted a loving kiss on your forehead, silently thanking his brother for having Mera fake her illness so that he could do this.
I'm a fucking dumbass. I wrote this but passed out at 1am 🤦♀️

It was probably why Wednesday adored it so much.
You loved it too. There was something divine about the nighttime. People feared the dark, but you saw it as an opportunity to rest your weary eyes and bones. The night gave way to being invisible, and there were some days when that was all you could bear to be.
But to Wednesday Addams, who loved the dark, you could never be invisible to her.
It was a blessing and a curse.
To be seen by Wednesday—it was something more than many people could ever hope for.
But to be seen when you wanted to be invisible? It was like being dragged without anything to hold onto.
Nighttime was hellish, and you wanted to disappear into the dark as your nightmares plagued you until you couldn't even tell what was the dream and what was the reality.
But Wednesday Addams saw you.

You've missed Enid's late-night studying session again. It's the second week in a row that Enid's gotten a text from you two minutes before the session started.
"I guess we can start," Enid told the group with a disappointed smile. "She's not coming today either."
"Fuck," Xavier sighed. "She's the only one who's good at art restoration. I was hoping she'd help me with my assignment."
Wednesday's face scrunched together mildly, and Xavier rolled his eyes. "Except for you, Wednesday. But you hate teaching me and I hate learning from you."
"I can't help it if you're stupid," Wednesday dully replied.
"Not all of us can do it perfectly after being told what to do—told only once might I add," Xavier raised his brow at her.
Wednesday shrugged, which only seemed to irk Xavier more and to prevent them from bickering further, Yoko turned to Enid and asked, "Why isn't she coming?"
Enid shrugged, her lips quirked to the side as they pressed together. "She texted to say she wasn't feeling well and couldn't make it."
"She does seem tired lately," Bianca commented, her expression in deep thought as she recalled the last two weeks when she saw you. "Also, really quiet. Well, quieter than she normally is."
There were murmurs of agreement around while Wednesday sat silently. Of course, she also noticed, but she was waiting for you to say something to her. You always told her whatever was plaguing you, even when Wednesday told you she didn't ask. Wednesday was used to hearing your mundane thoughts or solving your problems.
But there was nothing this time, and Wednesday couldn't figure it out. She tried to think back to see if anything had changed—if something had happened, but there was nothing.
Two weeks of leaving you be was enough, though, Wednesday decided as she packed her things into her bag.
"What! Wednesday, are you leaving too?" Enid groaned. "But I need help with botanical sciences!"
"Ask Bianca," Wednesday didn't even look up.
Enid looked at the siren, who had a deceitful, happy smile.
"I'd be happy to help you, Sinclair. Let's talk The Poe Cup negotiations first."
"Absolutely not!" Enid scoffed before turning back to Wednesday with pleading eyes. "Wednesday..." she whined.
"Ask Xavier," Wednesday didn't budge.
"But all he does is draw in class. There's no way he's doing well."
"I'll have you know I'm getting a C," Xavier looked affronted.
Enid merely stared at the sullen boy for a long moment before she turned back to Wednesday. "I'll just wait for you tomorrow after school."
Xavier was about to say something else when Wednesday briskly nodded, standing up and leaving the group behind without another word.

It was completely silent on the other side of your door, and from its looks, it was dark as no lights were shining underneath it.
Wednesday knocked in three successions.
There was no answer.
If it were anyone else, they would've believed you weren't there and left, but not Wednesday.
No, she knew you far too well.
This was a place where you could truly be invisible with no roommate.
Wednesday knocked insistently until she heard shuffling, an agitated huff, and footsteps approaching the door.
The door only opened marginally. You looked mildly surprised to see her, but Wednesday supposed you had too little energy to manage anything more.
There were dark circles under your eyes, and they looked puffy and slightly red around the edges from lack of sleep. Your skin was pallor, which suited someone like Wednesday, but she decided it was not on you. Your hair lacked its usual shine, and Wednesday's eyes narrowed as she finished scrutinizing you.
"What are you doing here?" You asked quietly.
"Are you going to just let me stand out here?"
"I'm not in the mood for company, Wednesday," you blinked slowly.
It was new.
You were usually happy for Wednesday's company whenever she stopped by, and you often visited her dorm.
"I have had enough of this," Wednesday glared at you through the gap in the door. "You will let me in."
"And if I don't?" You challenged back, and Wednesday almost wanted to applaud the snippy attitude you've mustered through the tiredness.
"Then I will wait out here and ensure you don't get a. Single. Wink. Of. Sleep." It was a threat that tugged at your nerves. You looked at Wednesday, and for a brief moment, she thought she won before you shut the door in her face.
Disbelief clouded over Wednesday's eyes.
Then, Wednesday began to knock incessantly over and over on your door. Her knuckles knock with a vengeance, and she'll be damned if you think she doesn't take absolute joy in torturing you.
It worked because you open the door wider this time, as you stare at Wednesday with a glare.
"What part of 'I'm not in the mood for company' was unclear, Wednesday?" Your voice was gruff, and Wednesday could tell that you were still trying to not snap at her despite how tired you were.
And that in itself was everything. It was like that all the time.
You were always trying to be considerate of whatever feelings you thought Wednesday might have while gently pushing her to admit which ones she was truly feeling.
Maybe that was why Wednesday could never leave you alone now.
You were a gateway to things Wednesday never wanted, and she genuinely thought you should pay for making her desire things she swore she'd never want.
"Say you don't want my company then," Wednesday said haughtily.
Wednesday knew you wouldn't—couldn't, even. You never would.
Just as you were her exception, she was yours.
You pursed your lip at her, starting to close the door swiftly, and Wednesday stuck her foot partially into your room, preventing you from shutting the door in her face again.
"Wednesday!" You called her name, concerned you might've hurt her when the door hit her foot, but the macabre girl used the opportunity to press her palm flat against your door and pushed it wide open.
She took a step forward menacingly, forcing you to take a step back. She took another step, and you took another one back. When she was inside your room fully, she used the back of her heel to shut your door.
The resounding click of it made you swallow.
"Wednesday," you clenched your jaw, fighting against something you weren't even really sure why. But you were terrified—of her, you don't think, but rather what she was capable of doing to your heart.
"I have been patient," Wednesday's voice is quiet, but her tone is sharp, expressing every bit of her lost tolerance. "I have waited for you silently."
Wednesday kept walking towards you, backing you up until your back bumped into your desk. She looked positively irritated. "I have even refrained from saying a single unkind thing despite them running through my mind at the sight of you moping at whatever has been keeping you up at night."
"How did you know—"
"Do you take me for an idiot?" Wednesday's eyes flashed dangerously at your insinuation. You shook your head.
"Then you must take me for a fool with endless patience," Wednesday glared at you. "I don't take kindly to the kind of games you're playing."
"I'm not playing anything—"
Wednesday cut you off again. "Then explain concisely what has been keeping you up and why you've been keeping it to yourself."
Silence filled the room as you didn't speak, but Wednesday had already waited this long. She could wait a little more.
Wednesday watched how you gripped the edge of your desk, your finger tapping underneath in rapid succession before you closed your arms over her chest.
The stance was defensive, but you looked more reluctant than wary.
"I'm having nightmares about you."
The admittance stunned Wednesday, and she didn't know how to take it. Initially, it felt like a compliment because nightmares were so fascinating and exhilarating to experience, and Wednesday hoped to have nightmares every night she slept based on that logic.
But you were not her.
Nightmares, illogically, were typically not desirable.
"Wednesday, I—" You swallowed. "I have feelings for you. You're the best and worst part of my days because I actually feel clinically insane everytime I see you, spend time with you and then have to face the fact that you're not mine and I'm not yours."
Wednesday's jaw clenched, and it was noticeable. She wanted to open her mouth and demand how you could feel the exact same way she did, but she kept her mouth shut, waiting for you to continue on.
"And I have nightmares about losing you," you confessed. "I have nightmares about losing you to Tyler or another deranged supernatural being. I have nightmares about losing you to Xavier or Enid or somebody like Tyler, minus the whole mass genocide. I have nightmares about losing you in every single imaginable way, only to wake up and realize you're not mine, and you can't lose what you don't have."
"I can't tell if the nightmare is when I'm asleep or when I'm awake." You put your hands to your face, laughing hollowly. Tears well up in the back of your eyes, burning as they were so dry from lack of sleep. "I think I'm going crazy."
Wednesday wanted to tell you that going crazy was supposed to be wonderful. But she, herself, has been experiencing the whirlwind of elation and torment you put her through and believed that going crazy wasn't as wonderful as she thought.
But Wednesday decided then and there that there was no way up from crazy. And while it's unfortunate that she's not the brand of crazy like Uncle Fester, she's been driven mad nonetheless. It's the only thing that could explain all of this and everything that's about to come.
Wednesday grabbed your wrist, moving your hand away from her face. No visions plague her, and all she knows is that this meant her decision wouldn't end in misfortune and it wouldn't drive her down a lonely path.
"Enid's not expecting me back tonight," Wednesday told you as she dragged you over to your bed. Her succinct tone leaves no room for you to ask any questions.
"Um, okay?" You said anyway, thrown off by her response and feeling exhaustion saw at your bones, dragging the invisible knife back and forth.
Wednesday guided you to get into bed, and you complied. Resignation settled over you as you rested your head on your pillow. It was cold again with you being away from it, but it brought no comfort.
You lay facing the wall, about to pull the blanket up to your chin, when you heard something drop against the floor. You turned your head and saw that Wednesday had set her backpack down, and now she was zipping off her sweater, hanging it on the pole of your bed frame, leaving her in her black long-sleeve.
Wednesday took her shoes off before using every bit of her vulnerability to steadily and carefully climb into bed with you. It was dark, with only a little light from the moonlight shining just barely into the room, and you could make out the barest hint of her features and knew she was staring intently at you, trying to ascertain if this was a boundary both of you could bear to cross.
Her touch was slow and hesitant, revealing this was something she's never done before, but the moment you were in her arms, you clicked into place like a puzzle piece.
Wednesday was cool against your body, but she was warming from your touch and shared heat trapped under the blanket. She smelt like rain and dry leaves, and you felt like you were going insane. You buried your face into her neck.
Wednesday wrapped her arms around you, holding you close, allowing the things she's been desiring for a while to come to fruition. She couldn't tell if this was making her saner or driving her closer to insanity.
It was deliriously pleasant.
"Who said you're not mine?" Wednesday muttered into the shell of your ear.
It's suddenly not enough, and Wednesday now knew the answer was that it was driving her closer to insanity.
Wednesday pulled back slightly, looking into your eyes that were so tired just moments ago. The dark circles remained, but you were wide awake, speckles of oblivion in your eyes.
Despite how everything else changed as you became sleep deprived, your lips still remained full and soft.
Wednesday moved to close the gap, sighing softly as her lips slanted against yours.
How could she feel like jagged glass, splintered and sharp, while you felt so soft, practically melting around her serrated edges?
Wednesday only pulled back marginally, cupping your jaw and the back of your neck. "Who told you that you don't already have me? I want names."
You couldn't even think straight with how her breath felt on your lips. You pushed forward again, pressing your lips against Wednesday's insistently.
Was it possible for reality to be better than a dream?
Your lips slotted over Wednesday's over and over and over. Wednesday tugged at your bottom lip, smoothing over it with her tongue before it dipped at the edge of your mouth where your tongue met hers.
It was dizzying, something that frequently happened to Wednesday when it was too warm. She usually hated the sensation of it, but, of course, as many things were exceptions when it came to you, this was one of them too.
"Your nightmares are inane."
You couldn't help but laugh against Wednesday's lip.
"I think I am actually insane," you grinned, and you saw a ghost of something similar on Wednesday's lips.
"Sleep," Wednesday ordered you, kissing you chastely initially but ending up biting your bottom lip tenderly. Her hands pull you closer, her lips resting on your forehead. "I'm here, so nothing will plague you."
The softness of Wednesday is unimaginable, and you're nearly skeptical.
"But—"
"No." Wednesday countered bluntly. "I'm telling you that I'm here and yours. You may come to regret it, knowing how...difficult I am. But you're stuck with me. Congratulations," Wednesday tilts her head slightly, brushing against yours, "or condolences."
But you could hear Wednesday's heartbeat, and it was dark, and you were so tired, but you were close enough to hear Wednesday's heartbeat.
Your lips tingle from Wednesday's kisses. You felt your eyelids grow heavy along with your body, and the way Wednesday shifted told you she was satisfied.
Nighttime could be hellish, but Wednesday Addams saw you—she always would. And all she had to do was put her lips over your nightmares.

word count: 2.8k
a/n: Ah this is my dream come true and this is totally to feed into my fantasies Dx
WARNING: always use protection!
"A bit to the right." you gasp, biting your lips but unable to hold on for long enough to make way for an uncontrollable moan.
"Ah, fuck! How are you so good at this! I thought you were a virgin?" You gasp, coming on his face with a squeal and taking some minutes to put your dazzled mind back into order. You sit up and clear your throat while the man appears from under the blanket and your thighs, face slick and shining with fluid. You gulp at the sight.
"What made you think I was a virgin?" He asks, smiling at you kindly, as if he didn't just devour your pussy.
"I don't know... really." You say, running a hand through your tousled hair, picturing how you two first met. It was a rave night at one of Las Vegas' upscale clubs. You and two of your friends happened to be bar hopping and ended up there at the recommendation of a previous bar's bartender. This club happened to be hosting a major celebration for an event that took place in Vegas that night and it was filled with howling men and skimpily dressed women, dancing to the heavy bass and vibing through the strobe-rainbow lasers. This was exactly your type of place.
"Tonight's your night Y/N." One of your friends cheered while the other made a tiger claw impression at you. "Go get em' tiger!"
You let your girls handle the drink orders and in a half-high state, wandered through the crowd, trying to look for men to chat up. That's where you saw this man, tucked away into a comfortable corner, with what looked like a nice orangey cocktail in hand. He was surrounded by a few men chatting with some very eager women, but he didn't partake in the conversation. That man was going to be your lay today, you had decided.
You cut through the dazed crowd and approach their group with your martini in hand.
"Hi there, got room for one more?" you say charmingly, the other men smiling encouragingly at you and the women smiling apprehensively. The men are clearly better looking, taller, with posher clothing than the wallflower hiding behind them, but the women can have these men.
"Oh, hey you!" you call out to the man, and he looks at his peers before making eye contact with you.
"Yeah, you." you pout at him. "Come out, I need a partner, I love this music." you reach for his hand, and he takes it hesitantly. You see the girls relax a bit as you seem to have chosen the worst pick of the group instead of the shiny men but you're happy to excuse yourself from their company and take your new arm candy to the dance floor.
"You frequent this place?" you ask the man, in order to break some ice. You have no interest in knowing his name.
"Well, I'm just visiting." He replies shortly, training his gaze to be glued to the dance floor. So, it'll be a challenge.
"Want some of this?" you ask, offering your drink.
"Nah, I'm on a cut, sorry." he replies. You give him a sharp smile trying to mask your immense irritation.
"Why the fuck are you in a club then?" you ask, discarding your martini on one of the drink tables and wrapping your arms around his shoulders, staring into his eyes. You catch a glimpse of his drink it may as well be orange juice for all you know now.
"Well, I -"
"Actually, never mind, don't answer that. Do you have a girlfriend?" you get to the point now. Because if he does, you're going to back off.
"Um, sorry, I don't." He says, confused. He stands absolutely still as everyone around him including you continue to groove to the music.
"Well, if you don't like drinking or dancing..." you smirk at him. "Want to do something more fun?"
You were almost certain this lad would say no but to your immense positive astonishment he agrees, cupping your waist and dragging you out of the club. The rest was history.
*****
"Anyway," you say, eyeing the rising sun out of the window blinds of this random hotel room of a random hotel he picked out. It had been a long night and the two of you had been going at it like rabbits. You started near the doorway with him pounding into you from behind. After you came once, you made him pull out and got down on your knees, sucking him off like a thirsty wreck. Then you had a round in the bathtub of the suite with you on top of him. He wasn't limp yet, so you got on top of him on the toilet again and bounced your way till his climax.
He still wasn't done because you ended up on the bed and he decided it would be a good idea to eat you out. You're just glad none of you were drunk out of your minds and everything happened consensually. He had an amazing dick, perfect girth and just long enough with a wicked curve, it's a pity you'd have to let it go today. Yet, you can't help but eye it hopelessly as it hung limp in front of you, almost begging you to caress it again.
"Aww you little-" You coo at his dick, reaching out in front of you to take it in your hands. You feel its weight and its fleshy texture and relish it. "I just can't leave it alone." you tell his soft length as he smiles at you.
That was one good thing about this guy. He didn't say awkward things. He was to the point, very kind in his after care, naughty but not excessively and oh my god are his groans out of this world. He is a looker too. I couldn't tell in the horrendous lighting of the club but now with steady lighting and even in the majestic rays of the rising sun, this man looks hot as hell.
You slump down to take his warm cock into your mouth gratefully and start sucking on it, feeling the length gradually increase and harden inside your mouth.
"Mmm.." you hum and grab a hold of his ball sack and fondle them, not wanting them to feel left out from the action.
You pay special attention to the underside of his cock as he grabs a hold of your hair with his shivering hands and makes you sink down on his length till it hits the back of your throat.
yummy.
You let his cock feel the merciless squeeze of your throat cavity as you go cross eyed from the sensation of being used like this. You moan and hum some more to add to his pleasure and grab a hold of his thighs with force. You look up at him with teary eyes to give him the green signal to let go and with a gasp, he looks up.
You are able to appreciate how thick and veiny his neck is as his seed paints your inner throat white, shooting warm liquid down your throat. He keeps thrusting and doesn't stop until his balls are dried out. You keep his limpening dick in your mouth for a while longer, collecting some of the cum in your mouth, intending to play with it for a bit when he pulls out.
"God. Just wow." He says after leaving your mouth as he watches you blow bubbles with his cum and let it drip down your lips only to scoop it with your fingers and force it back into your mouth.
"Shit. You'll make me hard again."
You blow a big bubble from his cum and wait for it to pop before speaking.
"Why, you're turned on again?" you ask, with half lidded eyes.
"Can you tell me your name?" He asks hopefully. Does he want this to be something? does he want more of you?
Well, he ain't getting any.
"Mouth's full." You reply teasingly, dodging his question and grinning with your teeth covered in his cum.
Your conversation is suddenly interrupted though by a long beeping noise coming out of your digital watch and you check the time.
6:15AM.
Shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!
The man sees your mouth form a big O as you stare bleary eyed at your watch, the cumming almost dripping out of your mouth. At this point he felt it was ridiculous you hadn't swallowed yet, nasty.
But swallow you did, and very quickly. You moved with such pace that it was a blur in front of him... and he had seen many fast things in his life.
"I-I'm sorry." you say, pulling your pants on and buttoning up your shirt. You opt to leave your bra and panties; he can have them for all his good work.
"I gotta go!" you say.
"Hey wait! At least tell me your name... or your number, anything!" He pleads. You make the mistake of turning back to look at him. Blushed, with sleepy eyes and puffy lips, locks of dark hair falling beautifully on his delicate face. He looked so vulnerable and needy that you almost feel bad, but your boundaries were clear from the start.
This vegas trip was your medicine to heal from a broken heart. You weren't going to leech on to someone emotionally again. Never!
"Looks like our time here ends..." you say, trying to sound as sorry as possible.
"I don't know if I'll ever meet you again baby boy, but hey! you made me cum. That's brownie points!" you smile at him encouragingly before fleeing from the hotel room with your phone, wallet, and no underwear.
You take quick steps in your kitten heals and head for the receptionist's desk, hoping and praying that here is no white goo on your teeth. First, you locate where this damn hotel is and next, you ask for a pharmacy which luckily, they happen to have.
You book your cab as your Plan B and water bottle gets billed. You check your clock again. 6:23AM.
Ahhhh!!!
You urge the cab drive to max out on his speed and he tries his level best to achieve super-car levels of pace while you down your plan-b. You make it to the hotel you and your friends were staying in just in time and only get 30 seconds to yourself to wash your wrecked face before you have to hop on to your work meeting on your laptop.
"Hey guys, how's it going? Everyone ready for today's standup?"
As a Principle Software Developer at a Megacorp, it's hard to take days off for Las Vegas on demand, at a short notice. Work from home was the only negotiation.
You grind for the rest of the morning and a large part of the afternoon as your friends and their boyfriends wake up from their sleep at their own pace, ask you about where you've been and grab some lunch for all of you. They have a lot of questions to ask but you're willing to answer absolutely none.
Once you're finally done with the day's work, the sun is beginning to set, and you take a minute to meditate and finally retire to the shower. This is the first time since yesterday morning that you truly have a chance to clean yourself thoroughly and to think clearly.
What were you thinking?
The reality of the situation drones in on you as the unforgiving cold droplets assault your skin. You still feel his dick on your tongue, his cum clumped in your throat, his veiny neck, his firm arms on your hips, his legs intertwined with yours.
God, what did you do?
This is... this is all Megumi's fault. If it weren't for him, you wouldn't be this broken today.
You let a few tears slip out in the gracious masking of the shower.
When you finally emerge fresh, your friends are waiting for you.
"We're going out!" your friend, Momo, exclaims.
"What? Where?" you ask. There were no plans for today.
"Well Noritoshi here wants to see one his fancy car races. Apparently, they do that in Vegas. There's a track and everything." your friend explains as her boyfriend, Noritoshi nods in excitement.
"It's Formula One, Momo! I have been dying to see one race live, at the circuit." He mumbles, more to himself than to us. "Initially, I only booked the tickets for Momo and me but I was able to get three free ones!"
"You guys can come along if you want to." Momo tells me and my other friend, Miwa and her boyfriend, Kokichi.
We all look at each other and before I can protest, they say yes on my behalf too.
Motorsports huh. I've heard of it yes. Though I appreciate a good quality car, I have never been a fan of racing as a sport. Isn't it a rich people exclusive anyway? I mentally scoff at the thought of my cheering on from the stands at a circuit and definitely catch Miwa narrowing her eyes at my expression.
"Dress up well. The crowds are all bigshots." Kokichi tells Miwa. "Not that you don't always look good, babe."
"Oh stop you!" Miwa blushes, putting her cheek on Kokichi's shoulder.
Ugh couples.
All of us get dressed to the best of our abilities with Noritoshi absolutely decking himself out in his formula one merch. He is wearing a teal accented and black leather bomber jacket with the words "Mercedes" stamped on it. He also carries a cute little plushie of what I assume is a current driver. The plushie looks soft and limp just like...
I widen my eyes in lieu of publicly slapping myself. Fucking. Get over it. Y/N!
Kokichi eyes the plushie with disgust.
"Bruh come on. Him, really?"
Noritoshi isn't having it though. "He's one of the greats. If you don't believe it, you're in denial. Thank you very much."
"He's not as great as my man Geto Suguru. The beast in his Red Bull!"
"Suguru, that ass? He's a cheat and you know it-" Noritoshi wants to continue but Momo stops him.
"We're getting late! Let's get going." The five of us leave the hobby and hop into our convertible (Kokichi won't let us rent anything else).
Kokichi drives, with Miwa in the shotgun handling the music. Momo, the shortest sits in the middle with Noritoshi to the right, making sure the tickets and everything else is in place. I am in the left, zoning out, happy to look at the twinkling lights of evening Vegas. This city is like an anti-depressant. Fast acting and temporary.
"Hey, Y/N." Momo suddenly pulls on my arm.
"Mhm?" I ask, keeping my eyes shut.
"How was it last night? With that guy you went off with?" She asks, curious.
"Don't wanna talk about it." I admit. Because I will then never stop thinking about his stupid dick.
"You will have to tell me some day!" She yells in a hushed voice.
"Not that I'll ever see him again, Momo." I remind her.
"You didn't even get his number?" She prods.
"Nah."
"Okay what's his name?"
"...."
"You can't be seriously, Y/N!"
I raise my hand to shut her up for a bit. I don't want to have this conversation after a long night of fucking and a long day of work.
Miwa must be forgetting why I came on the trip because she starts vibing to some slow, romantic song, holding Kokichi's hand as I try to play deaf. I place my head on my folded hands atop the window, gazing out at the passing light poles on the highway, in front of a pinky-purple sky. The sunset today is ethereal.
I almost begin to hear Megumi's voice in my head when Noritoshi suddenly laughs out, holding his plushie in the sky.
"Kokichi, would you look at that!" He says sarcastically pointing in a direction which makes us all turn our heads.
I follow his line of sight and spot a huge billboard approach us. It is so massive that I can clearly see what's on it from like half a mile away. It is made to stand out with blue and teal led lights framing it.
What catches my eye isn't the billboard decoration though. It's what's on it.
I nearly let out a choking sound but catch myself just in time.
On the billboard, larger than life is the human version of Noritoshi's plushie, clad in black and teal with a shining helmet in hand and standing proudly in front of his wicked Mercedes accompanied by the tagline which Noritoshi chants now.
"The Legend of Vegas returns to conquer for the Third Time! KING Yuta Okkotsu!"

Hi! I like your writing a lot!!
Can I please request Aizawa x reader who is insecure. She has a friend who is absolutely STUNNING and is a really nice person. She asks Aizawa if he thinks she is attractive but not to start a fight, just because she is having a moment of low self-esteem. She is convinced he wouldn't have liked her if he met her friend at the same time as her.
OPTOMETRY: Oneshot
a/n: YIPPEEE I'VE BEEN WANTING TO WRITE ONE OF THESE
summary: hurt/comfort. insecure gn!reader, but the friend is described with she/her and "girl". i cried a little writing this
your friend is so, so kind. so heart-achingly kind to you that you feel terrible for being jealous, but what can you do? she's so pretty that it leaves a pit in your stomach, no matter what. it's not like you can stop your thoughts, either- you'll be thinking about going to the store or getting food, and boom, suddenly you feel like you're rotting from the inside out. you can't even blame her for it either- she's just pretty. so what?
well, the so what of it is that you... you're insecure. sure, you don't blame the girl for being easy on the eyes, but it doesn't really help. whenever you're out with her, random people always come up to her, telling her she's so pretty, asking for her number, buying her drinks- and you're just sat by her side, sulking as you nurse your drink and taking count of the nearest exits, hoping neither of them would notice if you just left. however, one person did notice, every single time- even if you had no clue about it. your darling boyfriend, shota aizawa.
now, to be fair, shota notices more than most. he's a pro hero, obviously, and he definitely notices how you begin to crumple in on yourself when your friend stands at your side. he's not stupid- he sees people ogling her and calculating just how quickly they can get a date with her, but today it's bad.
today, you were at a restaurant- although it seems to be more of a bar at times- with shota and your friend. your friend was at the bar, and shota was in a booth since the seats were much more comfortable than the stools at the bar. you were between them, but you kept noticing random people walking up and talking to your friend, but a striking number of zero came up to you. while she had multiple men fawning over her, you had a grand total of none. shota noticed this, obviously, and at first, he was happy- proud, even- that enough people saw you were taken to just steer clear. however, he also noticed nobody even came up to you to just talk, even if it wasn't a flirting thing. his first thought was, and i quote, "these people wouldn't know beauty even if it slapped them across the face." and, by god, was he right.
eventually, you left with shota, and you decided to bring it up on the way home, thinking he didn't even notice. you asked him, "baby, do you... do you think i'm pretty? like actually pretty, not just the whole being in love with me thing," and he, quite literally, flinched. you thought he had been hiding this from you but... but he wasn't. you just couldn't see why he would.
he pulled the car over on the side of the road, and looked over at you. you were looking away, out the window, at the world that you wished to escape to now that you realized the intense awkwardness of the situation. he placed his hand on your cheek, and guided your face towards him, sighing when he could see your face. "honey, i don't think i've seen anyone who could be more beautiful than you are," he smiled, and by this point you began to cry, but he continued, "i mean this with no exaggeration, i would be a soldier in the most brutal battles just so i could catch a glimpse of your face, alright? do you hear me?" he says, in almost a whisper- something only you could hear.
oh, what a thing for him to say on the side of the highway. you melt, then, and he maneuvers your position so that you're comfortable as he kisses your forehead. as he does so, he keeps whispering how your freckles and moles rival every star in the universe, how your eyes hold the stories of all that came before you, how your legs have carried you so far and will continue to do so for even farther, how your nose defines your face in a way that inherently ties each feature of your face together, how your hair surrounds your face like the halo of an angel, how your voice has soothed his ailments and carried him through the hardships of life, how your mind is so intricate that he could just listen to you for days on end, even if you say some things repeatedly. he says all of this like he was telling you the sky was blue and grass was green. he told you this as though he was explaining what a wooden cube looked like to someone who couldn't see it- and, based on how he spoke to you, you'd expect him to take you to an optometrist if you didn't believe him. it was just the natural progression, in a way. if he couldn't convince you that you were beautiful, he'd just have to get your eyes checked.
just as quickly as it started, it ends. shota wipes your tears, and holds your hand on the way home- not an awkward or nervous silence like before, oh no, but being comfortable as the dust settles in your hearts. his hand gently caresses the back of yours like it's second nature, and you're not even sure he's aware he's doing it. the night ends with a movie and very, very cozy cuddles- back rubs included.
please reblog if you liked this one!

Out of the Spotlight (Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader)
Summary: Garcia does a little totally harmless snooping and discovers Spencer’s secret girlfriend is a movie star.
Word Count: 3.2k
Notes: has it been almost two years since i posted on here? maybeee don’t worry about it. this is just pure fluff and some penelope/derek shenanigans

~~~
Penelope Garcia is, occasionally, too curious for her own good. She really doesn’t mean to snoop in her friend’s lives like this, but to be fair, she didn’t know she was snooping in Spencer’s life when she started. She thought she was just learning more about her most recent celebrity obsession; rising star and incredible actress, Y/N Y/L/N. She hadn’t even gone too far with it yet, really! It all started after she’d left the movie theater, where she finally got to see Y/N’s newest movie with Derek. He dropped her off at home, and she decided to follow the actress on instagram and scroll through some of her posts. Which is when she found one from three months ago that looked weirdly familiar. It was just a picture of some bookshelves, but she couldn’t shake the feeling. Then she saw that Y/N had tagged the location, and it was in D.C. The celebrity hadn’t given up the exact name of the bookstore; a slight annoyance for Penelope, but she knew it was probably just so Y/N would be able to visit the place again without a crowd of fans or paparazzi, so she’d let it slide this time. Penelope isn’t one to frequent bookstores, but she remembered Spencer had taken herself and JJ to a small bookshop when they had decided their new year's resolutions would be to read more often. Spencer kept trying to get them to read the classics, but both women were shopping the romance section, much to Spencer’s annoyance. So, she called an amused Derek back to her place so he could take her there.
“So we’re doing this because some actress may have been to the same bookstore three months ago?” He asked, driving with one hand as he talked to Penelope.
“Well when you say it like that it sounds silly!” She said, still scrolling through the instagram page. “Besides, it’s not just that, a lot of these pictures are in Quantico! What’s a big name actress like her doing here?” Since the discovery of the bookshop picture, she’d found 3 more that were obviously in the city; a well known coffee shop, a mall Penelope has spent way too much money at, and a picture of a sign from the nearest highway. There were some others that she thought might be, but there was no definitive proof to be found.
“She probably just has family here, baby girl.”
“Um, do I look like an amateur to you, hot stuff? The first thing I looked for was her family, who are all happily living far, far, away, thank you very much.” The next picture she scrolled to gave her pause. It was a picture of a TV with a still from Y/N’s breakout show on it, but a coffee table, with someone’s sock-clad feet on it, was just barely visible. The socks were covered with the logo for her show. It was captioned “Will it ever stop being weird to see myself on TV?”
“Does this look familiar to you?” Penelope held the phone in Derek’s line of sight, causing him to swerve the car a little and push her hand out of the way.
“Do you think that could wait until I’m not driving?” Penelope just rolled her eyes, taking a screenshot of the picture for future reference. In just a few short minutes, they were pulling into the parking lot of the bookstore. Penelope rushed in, with Derek strolling behind her. She quickly found the spot that was featured in Y/N’s instagram post.
“See! Told ya it was here!” She said, showing Derek the picture so he could compare it himself.
“Yup, definitely it is the same place. I still don’t see why this is a big deal though.”
Penelope opened her mouth to argue with him, but was interrupted by the store’s owner; a little old lady. “Can I help you two find anything today?”
“Oh, no ma’am. I just saw your store on my favorite actress’s instagram, and wanted to see it for myself.” Penelope explained, feeling a little bad for wasting the woman’s time. Maybe she’d find a book to buy, even though she’s not even finished with the last book she bought here.
“Oh! Miss Y/L/N, right? She and her boyfriend are around here all the time! What a nice little couple; her boyfriend is a little skinny though, I really need to make some cookies for him the next time they come by.” The woman explained, walking over to the wall of the store to point to a framed picture of herself and Y/N, signed and all.
“She has a boyfriend?” Penelope asked, shocked that she hadn’t at least figured it out. In all her snooping of Y/N’s instagram, she hadn’t seen a hint of a boyfriend.
“Oh, yes. They’ve been coming around for, goodness, six months now? They always buy each other books, it’s so adorable. He always buys her one of the classics, I think it was Romeo and Juliet last time. She usually gets a romance of some kind.” That made sense; the most recent picture on her instagram was one of two books; Romeo and Juliet, and The Duke and I. Eventually, Penelope and Derek made their way out of the bookstore, and that was the end of Penelope’s investigation of Y/N Y/L/N’s life.
Well, the end of Penelope’s investigation for that week.
It’s not like Penelope could track down Y/N Y/L/N’s secret boyfriend…not without seriously abusing her FBI database and maybe breaking a few privacy laws. She almost forgot about the trip to the bookstore, but during a rare case where she actually got to join the team on the jet, she noticed Spencer was reading something out of character.
“Uh, Reid?” He looked up from the book he was reading.
“What’s up?” He said, quietly, as everyone else was sleeping after the long case.
“Why are you reading The Duke and I? I thought you were a total book snob?” She asked, sitting across from him.
“Oh, um,” Nothing could hide the slight blush that appeared on his face. “A friend of mine told me to read it.”
“Like a girlfriend?” Penelope teased, watching as his blush became even more noticeable.
“Y-yeah. Uh. Like a girlfriend.” Spencer opened the book back up, hiding behind its cover and promptly ending the conversation. He brought his feet up onto the small table in between them, causing his pants to ride up just enough to show off his socks. One sock was just plain black, but the other one was covered in the logo for a familiar TV show.
“Are you a fan of Y/N Y/L/N too?” Spencer just looked up in confusion.
“What?”
“Your sock, that’s her show right? It’s really good, I watched it in like a day.”
Spencer’s eyes went back to the book. “Uh, yeah. It’s a great show.”
Sure, Penelope thought he was acting a little weird, but that’s just Spencer. He doesn’t talk about his life outside of work too often, but she was glad he at least told her about the girlfriend. Even if he wouldn’t tell her her name, she was sure she could figure something out. So the next day, she updated Derek on her new information about Spencer.
“Wait wait wait, Spencer was wearing socks with the show’s logo? And reading The Duke and I?” The two of them had been walking towards the BAU kitchen to get a cup of coffee to help them get through the paperwork day, but Derek had stopped walking abruptly when Penelope gave him those details.
“That’s what you’re most interested in? Not the fact that Spencer has a girlfriend?” Penelope asked.
“C’mon baby girl, it’s obvious that Spencer’s been dating someone.”
“What! You knew! And you didn’t tell me?”
Derek laughed, resuming their walk towards coffee and letting Penelope hurry along behind him. “Sorry cupcake, I figured you knew too. He’s just been so happy for the past few months, in the way only a lady would make him.”
“Ugh, ok, well some of us aren’t profilers, Derek. What’s so important about the socks and book?”
“Well,” Derek grabbed the coffee pot, pouring some into Penelope’s mug as he spoke. “Just a few weeks ago you dragged me to a bookstore, where we learned about a certain couple. A couple where the guy likes classics and the girl likes romance, right?”
“Yeah-Oh! No! There’s no way you’re suggesting what I think you’re suggesting.”
“And didn’t Spencer get flustered when you mentioned her?” He asked, now pouring the coffee into his own mug.
“Oh my god! The socks!” Penelope pulled her phone out of the pocket, quickly making her way to the picture she’d saved. She showed it to Derek once again, this time zooming in on the coffee table. “Those are the socks he was wearing! On her instagram!”
“Uh, why are you staring at a picture of Spencer’s living room?” Penelope jumped, not having noticed that JJ was standing over her shoulder, looking at the picture on Penelope’s phone.
“Wait, you’re sure this is his living room? Like, 100%?” Penelope had never actually been to his place before.
“Uh, yeah, he babysits Henry a lot. Why, what’s the big deal about it?”
“Oh my god, Spencer is dating a movie star. Spencer Reid is dating a movie star!” Penelope couldn’t help but jump up and down, almost spilling her coffee.
And then Spencer walked into the room, promptly ending the gossip between coworkers before Spencer could hear.
Derek had made her promise to wait until Spencer was ready to talk about his relationship, but after an agonizing week, she felt like she was going to burst at the seams. So when she got a notification on their night off that Y/N had posted a new picture, she was aching to get more information about the secret relationship. This was, again, a picture in what she now knows is Spencer’s living room. This time, there was an open box of pizza on the table. It was captioned, “Lovely night in.”
So, naturally, Penelope immediately headed to Spencer’s.
~~~
Y/N doesn’t think it’s possible to be any more happy than she is right now.
8 months ago she’d just ended what was possibly the most disastrous relationship in the history of humankind. She’d made the classic mistake of dating a co-star; an older guy who was well known to be a bit of a playboy. The relationship had been extremely public; everything from their dates to their fights were somehow captured by paparazzi. His fans hated her, her fans hated him, and worst of all, the network was pushing them to be even more public in the hopes of gaining more viewers. At the end of it all, she was insanely grateful her character wouldn’t be returning for the next season as she was already booked for a movie. The only thing worse than breaking up with your co-star is having to continue playing his love interest.
And just when she was at her absolute lowest, having sworn off of ever dating someone in the spotlight again, she ran into Spencer.
After wrapping filming for a movie in Atlanta, the only reason she was even in D.C. was because her flight was forced to land early; a sudden storm was arriving and there was no way the plane would safely make it to New York. What started as an hour delay turned to three, then four, and before she knew it Y/N was stuck in town for a weekend.
She spent basically an entire day hiding away in her hotel room, so Y/N just had to get out and do something. It was still raining cats and dogs, and she’d never been in the city before, so she just googled the closest places that were still open. Luckily, there was a small bookstore just down the street, and there were a few books she’d heard about that she hadn’t had the chance to buy yet. So she put on her coat and practically ran to the store.
She was drenched and already regretting the decision to leave the hotel room by the time she walked into the building, but there was no point in turning back now. The place was practically empty anyways, Y/N only spotted an older woman reading a novel at the cash register. She slowly began browsing the shelves, not looking for anything in particular.
When she rounded one of the corners, however, she ran right into someone’s chest.
“Shit! I’m so sorry!” She immediately apologized, looking up to find a cute man staring back at her. “I wasn’t paying any attention, I assumed I was the only one in here.”
“That’s alright, I, um, I wasn’t paying attention either.”
The guy standing before her was holding various books, all reminding Y/N of the books she was supposed to read (but never actually read) for her high school English classes. “So, do you exclusively read books written before the 20th century or are you just taking a college class in-” She read the title of the book on top of his pile; a collection of short stories by Edgar Allen Poe. “-depressing gothic short stories?”
He laughed, rolling his eyes a bit. “I just like a bit of a challenge when reading. And it’s a rainy day, which calls for ‘depressing gothic short stories,’ not–” He glanced at the one book she’d picked up, a cartoon covered book called Red, White, and Royal Blue. “What I can only assume is a cheesy romance.”
Despite his insult of her choice in books, Y/N couldn’t help the smile on her face. “Well maybe I like reading books that are actually entertaining, not reading so I can be confused by convoluted metaphors.”
Just as he opened his mouth to respond, their conversation was disrupted. “Y/N Y/L/N? Aren’t you from that doctor show on television?” Y/N turned to see the woman that had been at the register earlier slowly walking over.
“That’s me! It’s nice to meet you!” Y/N’s real smile suddenly switched to a smaller, more practiced one. It’s not that she didn’t love meeting fans–she’d just been enjoying a conversation with someone who wasn’t treating her differently.
“Oh I knew I recognized you! My granddaughter loves her show, she was so upset when you decided to transfer to that fancy british hospital and…” The woman started rambling on a bit about the stuff her character had done and how her granddaughter reacted to it. Y/N glanced over at the guy she’d been talking to, who seemed entertained by the whole interaction. “...Anyways, do you think we could take a picture? My granddaughter will just never believe you were here!”
“Of course, um, do you mind taking it for us…?”
“Spencer. Yeah, I’ll take the picture for you. Do you have a camera, Mrs. Waverly?” Clearly the guy, Spencer, was a bit of a regular here if he knew her by name.
“Yes, yes, it’s around here somewhere…” The woman scrambled off, muttering to herself about where she’d last seen the camera.
“So…” Spencer spoke first, breaking the somewhat awkward silence while they waited for Mrs. Waverly. “You read cheesy romances and star in cheesy Grey’s Anatomy knockoffs?”
“Hey! It wasn’t a Grey’s-” His pointed look made her stop. “Ok, it was totally a Grey’s Anatomy knockoff, but I’m not on the show anymore so you can’t make fun of me for it!”
Mrs. Waverly finally reappeared, with an old polaroid camera in her hands. The two quickly took a picture, which Y/N happily signed for the woman. By the time both Y/N and Spencer had bought their books, the rain had slowed to a light drizzle.
“So, um…” Spencer started, but trailed off, not knowing what to say.
“My hotel is just down the street.” Y/N said, pointing in the right direction. Spencer’s eyes widened a bit before Y/N realized what she’d said. “Not that I’m like, inviting you to my hotel room, I’m not, that’d be crazy, I just-” She cut herself off, trying to not ramble anymore. “Do you wanna walk with me? Tell me more about your depressing book?”
Luckily, Spencer wasn’t put off by her rambling. “I’d love to. Poe isn’t always depressing, really…” He started, as the two of you walked slowly towards your hotel.
From there, the short walk turned into a coffee date the next day, which turned into long FaceTimes while one or both of you were in different cities, which lead to where you are now; 8 months deep in a relationship and finally in town with Spencer. He’d still have work of course, but you’d be in town for the next two months as your next job wasn’t starting for a while.
The two of you were basically in an extended honeymoon phase. Only your closest friends knew that you were dating anyone, so you never had to worry about it leaking to the press. You figured when the two of you got more serious you’d eventually have to go public with the relationship, but for now it was nice having something just for you.
You were in Spencer’s apartment, scrolling through Netflix looking for something new to watch, when Spencer arrived home from work.
“I think my team knows that we’re dating.”
“What?”
Spencer made his way to the couch, laying down next to Y/N as he continued, “Well obviously JJ knows, but she said she wouldn’t tell anyone. I’m sure Hotch and Rossi at least have figured out that I’m dating someone, but I don’t think they care enough to figure out who. But today Garcia and Morgan were just acting weird. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if-”
Spencer was cut off by a knock at the door. “Spencer Reid if you don’t open this door right now I’m making Derek kick it down!”
“Let me guess…that’s Garcia.” Y/N said, laughing as Spencer rolled his eyes and got up to open the door.
“Spencer, are you actually dating a movie star? And you didn’t tell me?” Garcia complained, not yet seeing Y/N sitting on the couch as she entered the room, solely focused on Spencer. Derek walked in next, immediately noticing Y/N and smiling at her. Y/N made her way over, trying not to laugh at Garcia’s widening eyes when she noticed her.
“Sorry, I think it’s my fault that he didn’t tell you. We’re just keeping things quiet right now.” You explained, “I’m Y/N, by the way.”
Derek was the first to grab your hand. “Derek Morgan. I’m sorry about all this, she was just curious.”
“I’m Penelope! And you’re Y/N and I love your work so much you don’t even know!” Penelope began rambling, taking Y/N’s arm in hers and leading her over to the couch as she talked about her favorite parts of Y/N’s movie. Derek and Spencer slowly followed, talking amongst themselves.
“So…Spencer Reid and Y/N Y/L/N. How’d that happen?” Derek asked.
Spencer smiled, thinking back to that night 8 months ago. “We met in a bookstore last year.”
Derek laughed, because of course Reid would meet a girl at a bookstore. “You happy?”
Again, he smiled. “I’ve never been happier.”

I know "fuck canon" is always an option and generally the more sensible thing to do, but with last night's episode I had two smidgens of HOPE and now with Tim's apparent new interview I just want to crawl back into my cave again 🫥
Hi nonnie!
TLDR (cause I'm having THOUGHTS): I don't think anything is off the table, if I had to bet money I'd lay somewhat decent odds that Buck and Tommy get back together, and I don't think either side of the ship war has anything in particular that indicates victory.
I'll preface this by saying yes, 'fuck canon'is usually the more sensible option. 'Fuck canon' is where no one ever dies, people do not make stupid decisions, and couples never break up.
And I'll also preface this by saying that Buck is my favorite character (honestly one of my favorite characters of all time, not just this show) and my ultimate OTP is Buck/Happiness in this show, however he gets it and whoever gives it to him. I am quite happy being a multishipper and I started out in fandom spaces back in the mid-nineties, where the etiquette and relationship to the content were vastly, vastly different than today and that really colors the lense I view fandom through. In the ship war, I'm mostly Switzerland.
Still with me? Okay.
My main source of optimism re: Buck/Tommy is the simple fact that guys...911 is Not That Deep. It's a fun show (usually), predicated on ridiculous Situations (increasingly), and in movie terms is a cash-grab popcorn flick. Have they hit something with the characters and actors that often elevates it above its station? Absolutely. Are there parts that make you go, "whoa, this came from the shark on a highway weewoo show?" Of course! But 911 isn't fucking Inception. There's no hidden messages and jaw-dropping plot twists that No One Saw Coming.
Like...all the cries about "learn some media literacy you cretins!" really have me scratching my head because, uh, taking everything solely at face value--this absolutely is the Third Act Miscommunication in the relationship. Both parties expressed a desire for the relationship to be more. They broke up on the tried and true "I'm doing this for both our sakes'even though it hurts" and not a dealbreaker schism which they ABSOLUTELY could have done. Literally, one scene of "wow I can't wait to be a dad/oh, uh that's not something I want" and we have a reason to break up that has the exact same "no villains just circumstance" vibe.
On the other hand, it absolutely is a stopping point that is believably permanent.
They went out of their way to show how desperately much Buck wants to talk to Tommy (like we turned it into a meme, but they didn't really have to show him baking That Much) and how he's spiraling in a way we haven't really seen since Abby. In a Hallmark romcom this would be where the audience is reassured that our plucky protagonist has Real Feelings for the LI.
On the other hand, the show often uses Buck as comic relief and the keep away with the phone could absolutely be the indicator that this breakup isn't as serious as Buck thinks it is and he should move on.
The interviews are pretty disheartening, but the interviews for this show really honestly have always had a kind of weird monkey's paw quality to them. Like, they don't lie exactly, but there's a lot of misdirect.
As it stands now, the relationship 100% reads like a Hallmark romcom that is being written by people who Had a Gay Friend In College Guys, So of COURSE We Know What We're Doing...wait why are you discoursing?
On the other hand, as it stands now, it also wouldn't be surprising if this was the end. I honestly don't think they have 100% decided how it's going to go and the writing and especially the pacing this season has been so uneven that it's not hiding the flaws in the storytelling as well as it usually does.
But, if canon goes in a direction I don't like, I have no problem saying 'fuck canon' ;)

two for one || j.h.s
Summary: A visit to the local shelter brings not one, but two surprises.
Warnings: No use of y/n, fluff
Word Count: 1.3k
Pairings: Jake Seresin x reader
Authors Note: Based on these pictures. I saw them and couldn’t get it out of my head. Thanks to my lovely betas @wkndwlff & @ryebecca, you’re the best!
When your boss told you to take Tuesday off, you wasted no time in signing off and putting your work phone on ‘do not disturb.’ You had been logging a lot of overtime lately, brokering a deal with a new business partner and overlooking the expansion of the Boston office. Luckily you could stay in San Diego working remotely with the team from Boston, letting you avoid the time consuming travel across the country.
You had washed three loads of laundry and cleaned out both the pantry and the fridge. After a quick stop at your favourite deli for lunch, you headed out to the grocery store. You opened up all the windows when you got home, putting away the groceries and then taking on the task of cleaning the condo. You had some time to kill before starting dinner, so you headed outside to relax on your hammock with a book.
You must have dozed off because the next thing you know, your boyfriend is shaking you awake. “What time is it?” you groaned, stretching your limbs.
“A little after three. Last class got cancelled, so I figured I’d head home early to surprise my girlfriend. Looks like you’ve been busy today.” You hummed as he pressed a quick kiss to your lips, pulling you up from the hammock.
“I just wanted to get everything done so we could enjoy our weekend off together.”
Jake wrapped his arms around you, kissing the tip of your nose. “I have a surprise for you.”
“What?” You looked up at him, a playful smile on his face, eyes vibrant with joy.
“Remember how we talked about getting a dog?” Jake had a childlike excitement surrounding him, that cheeky grin you loved so much in place.
“Fanboy was showing me pictures of this shelter and I thought that we might go and take a look.”
You lit up, bouncing on your feet. “Really? Because I know you said you weren’t sure and -,” Jake cut you off, kissing you again.
“Yes sugar, I’m sure. The shelter closes at 6pm, so I figured we’d head there now and we can pick up dinner on our way home.” You were already heading towards his truck before he finished speaking. Jake followed behind, smiling at your childlike glee. “I just gotta change, baby. Then we can go.”
“Aw, baby look.” You gestured to the German Shepherd who was snoozing in the corner. Jake trailed behind you. The shelter was fairly empty, both with people and animals. Lisa, a volunteer, explained that they recently had a “family day” and a lot of the animals had been adopted.
“We’ve really seen an upswing in adoption recently, it’s honestly so great seeing these animals find their forever home.” Lisa spoke with Jake as you wandered around. An odd sight in the back captured your attention and you kneeled down to get a better look.
Your heart melted as you set your sights upon a tiny dog, all curled up into a ball. What melted it even further is the cat sleeping by its side. They looked so cute, all cuddled up with each other. The tag on the outside told you that their names were Ares and Apollo. You turned around to call on Jake, only for him to be right behind you.
“What’s this?” He asked as he kneeled down next to you. The dog blinked at the two of you sleepily before snuggling its face into the cat’s fur.
“Look at them baby, they’re so cute.” You gushed, wiggling in your excitement.
Lisa wandered over to the two of you. “Ah, you’ve found our little makeshift family. They were found together, abandoned in a box by the side of the highway. They’re most likely from the same home. We’ve estimated that they’re both around a year old. We tried to separate them at first, but they were both so unhappy that we just let them be together. It’s made adopting a bit more difficult. Not a lot of people want to take on the responsibility of both. But we’re adamant that they go together.”
Your mind is made up the moment she stops talking and you turn to Jake, pout in place, as you prepare to plead with him. He rolled his eyes at you. “We said one dog darlin’.”
“Yes, I know, but look at them! And they have to be together.” Jake raised an eyebrow, but you were determined. “And! When we’re not home, they won’t be lonely because they’ll have each other! I know we said a dog but I’ve always wanted a cat, too. Please, baby?”
Jake was quiet for a moment, watching the little animals sleep. The dog, Apollo, had a fair coat - white mixed with light brown. The cat, Ares, on the other hand, had pitch black fur.
“I guess we need to pick up a couple of cat things, too, then.” Jake said, and you squealed, throwing your arms around him.
You stayed with them as Jake talked to Lisa, getting everything in order for the adoption. The dog yawned as you tickled its belly, almost squishing the cat in the process as he chased your fingers. The cat was more apprehensive but after some ear scratches and treats, it let you pick it up.
Jake returned with a carrier in hand, letting the dog sniff him before picking him up. “Hey, buddy. You’re gonna come home with us, isn’t that great?”
You packed all the essentials into the truck before thanking Lisa and heading home.
Setting everything up was fairly simple. The litterbox went into the laundry room and Jake scattered various toys and a bed in a corner of the living room. You insisted on getting a water fountain and you set up their bowls in the kitchen. A second bed was placed at the foot of your bed.
After making a grand showing of the litter box for Ares, and telling them where to eat, you walked around with the little creatures, showing them their new home.
They both warmed up to their new surroundings quite quickly and before you know it, they’re both snoozing off between you and Jake on the couch as you watched the news.
“Baby?”
Jake hummed, absentmindedly scratching Ares behind his ears. Apollo is cuddled into your side, tongue sticking out.
“Thank you. I love you.”
Jake lifted his arm and you moved gently, as not to startle Apollo and cuddled into his side. “I love you, too. And to be honest, I don’t think I could have gone home without them. They’re perfect.”
“Hah, I knew it. You loved them as soon as you saw them, too, right?” Jake rolled his eyes, nudging your side.
“Yeah, I did. But one of us have to be responsible.” You giggled, lifting Ares so he could rest in your lap. An idea suddenly struck you and you squished your face against the side of Jake’s arm to stop the laughter.
Jake nudged you again. “What are you laughing about now?”
You snorted, trying to hide your amusement. “You’re totally gonna be one of those cat dads who said they didn’t want a cat but secretly loves it.”
He made a noise of protest but stopped as Ares abandoned you and crawled onto Jake’s lap. Apollo was snoozing between the two of you. “Don’t tell anyone.”
You smiled. “I won’t. Besides, it’s good training.”
“For what?” Jake murmured, tickling Apollo’s tummy.
You found yourself falling in love with him all over as you watched him fawn over the two of them. When you first met him, you had doubted that he would want something serious and settle down. Now, two years later, you couldn’t be more wrong.
Jake was everything you wanted and more. And as you watched him with the two newest additions to your future, you knew he would make a great dad one day. But for now, you would have to be parents to two little four legged babies and you couldn’t be more happy.

November 9, 2019
Hayden yawned and took a sip of her coffee as she got off the highway. She had been driving for three hours to Alberta and had woken up really early so she could get there early in the day.
Luke had a tournament for the past week in Alberta and today was his last day and the only time she could get time to go see him.
Hayden has just played against the Devils the night and got to see Jack, Ellen and Jim for a little bit before they all headed out to Vancouver for Jack’s next game agonist Quinn.
Hayden luckily leaves for her away game tomorrow morning so she gets to spend the day with Luke and see him play.
Hayden pulled into the hockey rink and slipped on her black trench coat over her black pair of sweats and white hoodie with her green hat and green converse.
She slipped her phone and keys into her pocket and she walked into the rink and knew Luke had a early game and if he won he would be playing in the finals later tonight so either way they would still have the day together.
Hayden walked over to the rink Luke will playing on a in a few minutes and saw him warming up with him team off the ice before the Coach dismissed them before the game.
Hayden saw Luke and felt her shoulder’s loosen seeing Luke and being so close to him for the first time in months, “Lu!” Hayden called out and watched as Luke’s head snap up and he beamed when he saw Hayden standing there.
Luke rushed right over to her and hugged her so tightly that they almost both fell over.
Hayden let out a happy sigh and hugged him so tightly back, resting her head on the top of his head and she had a sad realization that he was taller than he was when she said goodbye to him a few months ago, “Look at you!” Hayden cooed as she pulled back from the hug and cupped his face looking at any changes that she missed, “You’ve gotten so tall!”
“You’re here!” Luke whispered in disbelief, he has had the worse few months being away from all three of his siblings for the first time and hated not seeing them every day but especially not seeing Hayden.
“You get for the whole day.” Hayden softly told him pressing a kiss to his forehead making Luke eagerly lean into her touch.
Luke beamed even brighter and clung to her. They heard Luke’s name being called from his coach and Luke frowned holding onto Hayden tighter not wanting to leave her yet.
“Hey you go play your game and i’ll be watching the entire time and i promise you i’ll be here after.” Hayden gently reassure her little shadow running a hand through his hair knowing it calms him.
Luke nodded slowly not looking happy having to leave Hayden and he hugged her once more beside rushing over to his team and down to the locker room.
Hayden watched Luke leave before walking away and getting a seat to watch his game.
Hayden couldn’t help but smile as she watched Luke get onto the ice and he immediately found her and was smiling and waving at her, she waved back.
“Are you Hayden?” The woman next to her asked with a kind smile.
Hayden looked away from Luke and at the woman narrowing her eyes slightly, she didn’t want to be recognized at the hockey tournament not wanting to take away anything from Luke, “I am.” Hayden answered hesitantly answered.
“Luke talks about you all the time,” The woman explained, “I’m Sharon my son Dylan plays with Luke.”
Hayden relaxed realizing it wasn’t a fan noticing her, “Ah Duker.” Hayden mused having heard all about Luke’s new best friends.
“Are you his sister?” Sharon kindly asked just curious what the relation was between Hayden and Luke as Hayden is all over the Hughes house and Luke talks about her always.
Hayden paused but nodded, “Yeah Luke’s my little brother.” She proudly said and it was true she has thought of the three as her siblings since she little and she knew her parents thought of them like their sons just as Ellen and Jim see her as their daughter.
Sharon nodded and smiled letting Hayden pay attention to Luke.
Hayden watched the entire game with a proud smile, she couldn’t be more of the player Luke is becoming and she can not wait to see what he will do in his career and knew he is going to become a very special player.
Hayden stood up and loudly clapped as Luke scored a goal and seeing Luke’s beaming smile at her when he noticed her cheering made her miss being able to be at his games more.
Hayden watched at Luke’s team won the game and would be going into the finals later tonight.
Hayden waited outside the locker room and talked with Sharon as they waited for the boys to come out of the locker room.
“Haydes!!!” Luke beamed rushing out of the locker room in his suit and ran right to Hayden and hugged her so tightly she grunted but hugged his back.
“Hey you.” Hayden fondly responded and kissed the top of his head, “You played so good!” Hayden praised him when they pulled back making Luke perk up from her praise. Luke stayed under Hayden’s arm curled into her side.
“You’re Hayden Blake.” Dylan Duke said shocked as he was walking behind Luke, He knows that Hayden is Luke’s sister but it’s shocking to see her as she was becoming a star in the NHL.
“It’s nice to meet you Dylan, Lu talks about you often.” Hayden spoke with a small teasing smile.
“Awww!” Dylan teased Luke making Luke roll his eyes at his best friend.
Hayden and Luke said their goodbyes and Hayden had gotten permission to take Luke for the rest of the day.
Luke and Hayden walked to her car and Luke looked around her new car looking at everything as he sat in the passenger seat.
“What are we feeling for food?” Hayden asked Luke as she pulled out her phone for direction to whatever he chooses.
“Chipotle?” Luke asked hopefully making Hayden laugh and shake her head fondly.
“Why am i even surprised.” Hayden said knowing how easily Jack and Luke would eat chipotle for every meal if they could, Hayden put in the directions and started the car.
“Okay. Tell me everything.” Hayden told Luke very seriously but with a teasing smile as she started to drive.
Hayden was so content listening to Luke just ramble the entire time as she drove.
Hayden and Luke got out do the car with a Hayden’s arm over Luke’s shoulder and he continue to talk to her as they walked into the food place.
Luke paused for a few minutes as they ordered but once they sat back down he continued to tell Hayden about everything while he stuffed his face.
Hayden was happily content to listen Luke as they finished up lunch and to back into her car and they headed back to Luke’s hotel and spend some time together until they have to leave for his last game.
Hayden kept her arm wrapped around Luke’s shoulder as they walked up to his hotel room and Luke opened the door letting them walk into the room.
Hayden gently pushed Luke to the bathroom to get changed into comfortable clothes as she took off her trench coat, hat and converse and plopped onto Luke’s bed.
Luke came out of the bathroom in sweatpants and shirt and jumped into the bed immediately cuddling into Hayden, missing when he could get cuddles from Hayden everyday.
Hayden ran her fingers through his curls that she knows makes him fall asleep and within in a few minutes Luke was fast asleep in Hayden’s arms.
Hayden spent some time on her phone doing some work and getting some things done before tossing her phone away and resting her head on top of Luke’s and falling asleep too.
Hayden rubbed her eyes as her alarm went off, she shut it off and gently rubbed Luke’s back to make him slowly wake up as he needed to get ready so they could leave for his last game.
Luke groaned and shoved his head farther into Hayden’s side not wanting to get up and have to be away from Hayden especially as he knew she was leaving in a few hours and he wouldn’t be seeing her till Christmas.
“Come on Bud.” Hayden soothingly spoke making Luke grumble and reluctantly sit up, “Go get dressed.” Hayden smiled as she poked her finger in Luke’s side making him squirm and laugh.
Luke laughed and stood up and headed into the bathroom.
Hayden slipped her shoes and hat back on and stayed on her phone till Luke came out do the bathroom and he was ready to levee.
Luke came out the bathroom and slipped his shoes on, “Ready?” Hayden asked and Luke nodded and tucked himself to Hayden’s side as they walked out of the room and through the hotel to her car.
Hayden drove them the quick drive back to the arena and they walked back inot the arena together.
Hayden pulled Luke into a hug and pressed a kiss to his head, “You are going to do great.” Hayden softly reassured him making Luke nod and let out a breath before he let go of Hayden and walked into the locker room.
Hayden went and found a seat and went on her phone until Luke and his team came out and the game started.
Hayden frowned slightly as the other team scored twice within in minutes and they were playing better than Luke’s team.
Hayden pursed her lips hoping the next intermission is better for Luke.
It wasn’t and the third intermission wasn’t any better either.
Luke got a silver medal in the tournament making Hayden frown at the sad look on her baby brother’s face.
Hayden walked down to the locker room leaning on the wall waiting for Luke.
Luke walked out slowly with a sad and defeated face, he walked right to Hayden and hide his face against her chest and sagged against his sister.
“Oh buddy.” Hayden mumbled sadly rubbing his back gently, “I’m proud of you.” Hayden softly told him knowing he probably doesn’t want to hear he played a good game when he just lost a huge game.
Hayden walked out with Luke clinging to her and hated that she had to leave him soon being so sad.
Hayden held her hand out once she sat in the car letting Luke be able to hold her hand as she drove them back to his hotel.
Luke was silent the entire time and once they got to the hotel he clung back to Hayden’s side as they walked to his room.
Hayden sent Luke to the shower once they got inside the room.
She looked at the time seeing it was already almost eight pm and she had to be back in Edmonton by the morning at eight am and it’s a three hour drive back and she planned to leave now but she knew she couldn’t leave Luke yet and would just get less sleep.
Hayden laid in the bed on her phone texting with Ellen letting her know Luke will be ok before she turned it off when Luke came out of the bathroom in sweatpants and oilers shirt she got him.
Luke stumbled into bed and hid his face on her shoulder holding onto her tightly as he knew she would be leaving soon.
“Wanna watch something?” Hayden softly offered knowing he won’t sleep for a while. Luke nodded and Hayden clicked on a movie on the tv.
Hayden and Luke watched the entire movie and when the end credits started Luke clung to her tighter.
“Do you want me to stay till you fall asleep or leave before?” Hayden gently offered Luke, not sure if he would want to wake up in the morning and she would be gone.
“Stay.” Luke mumbled his eyes already shutting close.
“Good night Lu, i love you.” Hayden softly told her baby brother kissing the top of head.
“I love you too.” Luke mumbled half asleep.
Hayden watched as his breathing evened out and his face relaxed and she didn’t have the heart to leave yet.
Hayden ended up just staying for another hour until it was already midnight and she knew she had to get back so she sadly let go of Luke and tucked a pillow into his arms.
She leaned over him and pressed a gentle kiss to his head, “I’ll see you soon bud.” Hayden whispered her voice thick with emotion not wanting to leave her little shadow.
Hayden grabbed her stuff and quickly got out of the room blinking so she didn’t cry as she hates leaving her family.
Hayden headed to her car and started the drive back to Edmonton.

A/N: my apologies this is a day late. I had to work all day and then had a wedding to go to! So you'll have two posts to look forward to today!!
You wish that you had a different life. You had lived in the quiet town of Salem, Indiana. You wanted to move to the big city but the closest you could get was sleepy Hawkins, Indiana, a mere 60 minutes out of the Indianapolis city limits, but the exact same font as your southern Indiana town. The only job you could manage to get was at the highway diner leaving town. You had friends, sure, but you had dreams and aspirations bigger than Hawkins; maybe that’s why you had such animosity towards your job. You always had the overnight shifts, as others that worked there had kids or other commitments. The only respite to these “Red Eye” shifts ( as your boss Murray had called them) was the cook you often found yourself working with. He didn’t talk to you much, and the most he had offered was a tight lipped smile and a “hi” to your nightly greetings or a "you're welcome when you thank him for putting your orders up as soon as he could . You had heard of Eddie Munson before, but from what you could tell, most things you heard weren’t true. You had worked with him on and off for almost a year and never thought he was an alcoholic satanist who may or may not have murdered someone. He was effortlessly handsome: his curly brown hair was always tied back in a low bun. His pale skin was highlighted with a soft sheen of sweat and a rosy blush. You often saw his lower arms adorned with black blotches of ink and he rarely went to work in his cook whites - opting for a pair of relaxed black jeans, a band tee and a white apron. You were intrigued, getting to know Eddie Munson was going to be the excitement you needed.
-
The blazing sun of September had cooled off and the crisp breeze of October was a warm welcome. You put your sheer black tights on underneath your pale yellow dress. You straightened your skirt out and patted some rose pink lipstick on your lips. You were ready for another slow shift at the diner, but you weren’t complaining. You had made some progress with your growing infatuation with Eddie Munson. He had put your order up under the heat lamps and you thanked him by name last week. You saw his cheeks grow redder than normal and he nodded at you shyly. A couple days later, Eddie had taken your order for your own dinner: pancakes with some syrup and whipped cream. He had put it under the heat lamp and backed away to his flat top. To your surprise, you picked up your plate to see strawberries and whipped cream fastened into a smiley face on your stack of flapjacks. You felt your heart drop to your stomach in appreciation. You leaned over the heatlamp to yell a thank you to the boy, he had retorted with a “you’re most welcome, Y/N.” He knew your name! Between then and now, there had been fleeting looks, some lingering touches at the window and a really great conversation about the town’s record shop when the two of you took your smoke break. You were excited and hopeful for your interactions tonight. The diner had been slowing down and there had been more and more opportunities to chat. For your sake, you wanted there to be no customers at all.
You swung the diner doors open and the smile faded from your lips when you saw Murray sitting at the front counter, no one else in the restaurant.
“Good news, doll!” Murray sang to you. “You’re off the clock tonight. Diner’s closing because we gotta revamp the new fall menu. Pumpkin pie for everyone!” Murray declared as he spun himself off the stool and past you to the door. Eddie pushed through the swinging doors and behind the bar.
“Yeah, smarty pants over here ordered 20 boxes of pie shell mix for this week, not 2… So I have 60 pies to make before this shit goes bad.” Eddie grumbled.
“So Eddie is taking the lead and you get the night off.” You were wracked with disappointment. You hated to admit the hold that the metalhead had on you - especially to him and your boss. But a night alone at the diner with him might be what you need to get him on your good side.
“I’ll stay and help!” You offered. Eddie’s glowing brown eyes met yours and both of you instantly looked at the floor. “My grandma and I used to make pies all the time. Plus if I’m in the way, I can get other prep or cleaning done.” Eddie ran his hands through his hair, a soft smile appeared on his face.
“I mean…. Usually when I offer a day off it's taken with a ‘thank you, Murray’ but whatever… if you wanna work, it’s your funeral.” With that, Murray had strutted out of the diner and to his convertible in the parking lot. You locked the door behind him and turned to Eddie with a shy smile.
“It’s crazy that he still drives a convertible in this weather.” You offered. Eddie responded with a small chuckle.
“Have you ever been in the back before?” Eddie asked as he turned to retreat back into the kitchen, encouraging you cautiously to follow him. You pushed through the stark white swinging doors after him.
“Ah, no actually. Only stuff I’ve seen is through the bay window and the heat lamp.” You admitted. Eddie spun around to look at you. It was the first time you were in his space and you felt vulnerable. His chocolate brown eyes studied your face. His stare was intense, you couldn’t help but look down to the floor. Little did you know, his stare was full of wonder and admiration at his beautiful invader of his space. Eddie cleared his throat and turned away from you again, leading you further into the stainless steel kitchen.
“So… I have all the boxes of the dough mix in the walk-in” Eddie gestures to the small oven sitting under the flat top. “And this… is what we’re working with tonight. So, it’ll take a while for all of our shit to bake.” Your eyes widened at the tiny apparatus before you. It really was going to be a long night of work. You were excited to be in close contact with the man before you. The back kitchen was like an alley, long but skinny. You now understood why they only had one cook on the line at a time.
“Do you want me to help you get everything mixed up?” your confidence was dwindling quicker than you would have liked to admit. “Or I can just restock stuff and do other prep-”
“No! No- ahem. A hand would be really great. Then I can help you out while the pies bake.” Help you out, you wish he would. Your heart was in your butt as you nodded at him.
You spent the next hour helping Eddie unload and divide the dough mix into servings, he insisted that he lift the boxes to you because they were heavy. You didn’t mind though, getting to sneak peeks at his lightly toned biceps flex under the weight of the boxes. You felt the room getting warmer and warmer each time you secretly raked your eyes over the book. You worked mostly in silence, until Eddie worked up the bravery to ask you a question while he brought in the last box.
“So… you’re obviously not from around here.” He said.
“Obviously? What makes it so obvious?” You giggled.
“Well the fact that I didn’t see you in school at all… and the fact that there’s just something different about you.” You looked up from the bowl you were currently sifting the last bit of mix into. Eddie’s cheeks were red and there was a sparkle in his eyes. You didn’t miss how his eyes flitted to your lips briefly. He smiled back at you and turned to the fridge to grab eggs and butter.
“What about you? You've been in Hawkins for a while? I don’t see you at any parties or anything” You implored. You knew that answer already. Your neighbor across the hall warned you about one Eddie Munson when you told her about your new job. "The Freak of Hawkins High” had followed him, even after 3 years of being graduated. You prodded her for more information. She had been a year ahead of him, but told you about how he had a reputation for sleeping with girls who couldn’t get off with their boyfriends. One party Chirssy Cunningam’s boyfriend had walked in on her fucking Eddie in the bathroom and Jason made Eddie’s life a living hell after that. After graduation he flipped his principal the bird and told the rest of the kids in his class to fuck themselves. No one really saw him out after that, keeping his life in recluse. After Eddie had been shut out, apparently girls would flock to his house to have their escapades and brag about how weird and dangerous he was. You had heard your fair share of rumors in your own small town, but you were smarter than you were then. You knew not to trust anything flying around until you could make your own opinions.
“Ummm.. yeah. Unfortunately I have.” The mop of curls let out a dry laugh. “Hawkins hasn’t been too nice to me, I just don’t have the funds to get out of here, you know? That’s why I work almost every day of the week, haha. I have nothing else to do with my time.” You can sense that Eddie was retreating into his own world, feeling comfortable enough to share secrets and sighs with you, things that he hasn’t told anyone. He caught himself though. He looked up at you like a deer caught in headlights, expecting you to turn your nose up at him, but you looked at him with genuine sympathy and understanding.
“I get it. This was as close as I could get to the big city. It took me forever to leave Painted Hills.” Eddie probed you for a reaction. Your eyes clouded over as the lifetime of sour memories flashed in front of your eyes. You and Eddie both knew that you were treading into dangerous territory.
“Alright, enough serious talk, this is supposed to be fun” he winked at you. You both traded stories of your childhood and interviewed the other about favorite music and foods and books. Eddie didn’t necessarily look it, but he was intelligent, and a natural conversationalist. You peered up at the clock after what seemed like 10 minutes of talking. The clock read 10:46pm. You looked down and realized that the two of you had almost completely finished kneading the dough and filling it into trays.
“Holy hell, it’s already been 4 hours?!” You chuckled.
“Seems like time flies when you’re having fun.” You stared in bewilderment at the boy’s blooming confidence. Earlier he wouldn’t say anything but two words to you. You and Eddie mixed and filled the pies and began putting your first rounds in the oven.
Eddie had nudged your arm with his elbow as he grabbed two more pies to bake, he walked back to the oven, his eyes not leaving yours. You looked down at the floor with a smitten smile. When you looked back up at the boy on the other side of the kitchen from you, his smile was replaced with a nervous frown. You held your breath in anticipation. Did you do something wrong? Eddie took a few steps towards you, close enough to touch him, but he was sure not to invade your space. What a gentleman.
“You… umm.. You have some dough on your face…” Eddie gestured softly to your cheek that had been smeared with a small swipe of pie dough. You gasped with a small ‘oh’ and swiped the back of your hand over your cheek. Eddie let out a short laugh.
“You made it worse.” You giggled at him with a small ‘oops’. Your smile was contagious to Eddie. He saw your bright eyes crinkle as you smile and he couldn’t help but copy you. He bit down on his lip to stop him from laughing.
“Can… can I get it for you?” Eddie’s smile faded quickly. He took one more step towards you. You could smell the faint remnants of his musky cologne he had put on before work. You nodded your head slowly. Eddie studied your face, desperate to remember every detail of your face in case he never got the chance to be this close to you again. He sheepishly raised his hand to your cheek and swiped the residue away with his thumb. You felt your skin erupt in goosebumps at his touch. You felt electric shocks where Eddie’s skin connected with yours. Eddie’s eyes glued themselves to your lips as he moved himself closer. His breath fanned over your face and you thought you could faint.
“I’ve heard what they’ve said about you,” you whispered. Eddie froze. His eyes met his, they were full of panic. He began to back away from you but you placed your hands on the sides of his neck and pulled him back to you.
“What-”
“And I don’t care. I don’t give a shit what anyone says about you.” You ghosted your lips over his, giving him an opportunity to push you away. He snaked his hand to your cheek and pulled his lips to yours. You quickly moved together and the kiss sent molten heat to your core. Eddie was beautiful, sure, but he seemed unobtainable. Now that he let you in, you knew you wouldn’t be able to hold yourself back. Luckily for you, Eddie was in the same predicament.
Eddie’s hands quickly found purchase at your hips, pulling you into him like he was attempting to intertwine your bodies into one. You moaned into Eddie’s mouth, allowing him to deepen the kiss. Your tongues danced together seamlessly, both of your chests heaving for breath. You pulled away to look at the boy in front of you. His eyes had turned from a golden brown to almost black, clouded with need and lust. Eddie pinned you up against the wall kissing you until you felt silly. He lifted your leg around his waist, giving him better access to feel you on him. You were a moaning mess from the friction Eddie’s jeans were giving your clothed pussy.
“Eddie” you hissed. The sensation left your body begging for more. More. More.
“That feel good?” Eddie cooed. You looked like a piece of art against him - a mewling masterpiece. God, he wanted to hold you like this forever. All of his invisible pining for you, the longing looks, the sleepless nights longing for you; everything had bubbled up in this moment and Eddie needed to restrain himself from devouring you whole. He had hoped he would have you literally anywhere but his kitchen, but beggars can’t be choosers.
“Eddie” you gasped. You needed more of him - all of him. You bucked your hips against his, pushing moans out of both of your mouths. Eddie trailed his kisses down your cheeks to your neck. You moaned bashfully as Eddie bit down on your pulse point. He pulled away from you and looked into your eyes with a smirk.
“Don’t be quiet for me, doll. It’s just us. I wanna hear how good you feel.” Eddie’s purrs sent your eyes rolling to the back of your head. He pulled himself onto the counter, pushing himself up to sit on it, while he pulled you into him, slotting his thigh against your needy core.
“Come on, babe. Show me how good you feel. Make yourself feel good.”
You tentatively ground your hips down on the lanky boy’s thigh. The friction you felt was delicious, addictive. You couldn’t help but grind down harder on him, your melodic sighs and moans were music to Eddie’s ears. He felt like he could cum in his jeans if he didn’t focus on holding himself back. His hands migrated to your hips, guiding you harder and faster onto him. He could feel your warmth through his jeans. He was so ready to hear you come undone for him. Your noises got louder and higher pitched.
“E-eddie” you whined. God, his name sounded like a prayer falling out of your mouth, his new favorite song.
“What is it, honey, you gonna cum for me?” Eddie teased you. You violently shook your head. Eddie’s grip became bruising as he stopped your movements. You cried out in desperation, you could feel the beginning waves of your orgasm on the peak of arrival. You looked at Eddie with a confused huff. Before you could register what was happening, Eddie had switched your spots. His strong arms wrapped around you and your uniform’s skirt now hiked up around your waist. Eddie slid down the counter to his knees. His eyes were dark and pleading.
“I need to taste you. Please” His hands hovered over your thighs, desperately waiting for your response.
“Please, Eds. Please.” You squirmed in your seat. If you weren’t so fucked out already, you might be embarassed for your desperation. But you felt so good, you were so entangled in the moment you didn’t care. All you could think of was Eddie.
Eddie’s hands trailed up the tops of your thighs and trailed over your core. He hastily dug his fingers into your fishnets and tore, making a remark about your ‘fucking tights’. His strength only sent more waves of heat to your pussy, more than ready to meet Eddie’s embrace. Eddie could see how excited you were through your purple lacy panties that were stained with a deep wet patch.
“Fuck… so wet, this all f’me?” Eddie smirked up at you. You bit your lip and tried to close your legs with no avail. Eddie kept his large hands on your inner thighs, preventing you from closing me out. He let out a small tsk. Eddie hooked his fingers into the offending garment and pushed them to the side, putting your pussy on display for him. Eddie let out an animalistic moan; it was getting harder for him to control himself. He took a long lick up your slit, sending shivers down your spine. Your hands flew to Eddie’s hair to ground yourself. Eddie flicked expertly at your clit sending you hurling close to orgasm yet again. Eddie thought you were the sweetest thing he had ever tasted. He explored every part of you, moaning into you, making your thighs shake. He could tell you were close. He stuck his middle finger into your weeping hole and curled. Your eyes screwed shut in ecstasy, your orgasm was threatening to boil over and the only thing you could manage to do was scream out Eddie’s name. Eddie found your G-spot with ease and rubbed against it, throwing you over the edge. You saw stars as waves of hot pleasure took over your body. You had no control over the tremors that rushed through your limbs. Eddie moaned into you as he worked you through your high. You had to pull Eddie by his hair to get him off of you, the overstimulation pushing past the boundary of pain from pleasure. Eddie rose to his feet and took you in: you had a light sheen of sweat beading on your forehead, your mascara had smudged slightly under your eyes, your lips were swollen from his kisses and your neck was a constellation of hickeys. He needed you fully. He had no idea what he would do if the two of you walked away from your shift tonight and never saw each other again.
“Y/N I…. I need you.” Eddie’s voice softened. His eyes clouded with lust still, but longing and desire glared back at you.
“Take me, Eddie.”
Eddie’s mouth was back on yours, the tang of your essence still on his tongue. It made you moan into Eddie's mouth. The metalhead fiddled with his belt, never leaving his mouth from yours. It was your turn to turn primal. You gnawed at Eddie’s bottom lip and mashed your tongue with his. You both felt like you might pass out from lack of oxygen, but thought it would be much worse to not be on each other. Eddie shoved his jeans past his hips and free’d his achingly hard cock with a sigh. He grabbed your hip with one hand and lined himself up with your entrance. He rubbed his tip through your sensitive folds, eliciting moans from both of you.
“Fuck, babe….” Eddie clenched his jaw, determined to ride out this high for as long as he could. He slid himself into you slowly. He was large, larger than you had ever been with and the stretch made you feel so unbelievably full.
Eddie pushed gently until he was fully sheathed. He could feel himself growing overwhelmingly hot. His cheeks had turned from his usual shade of light pink to red. You could feel the heat radiating off of his body. He had been white knuckling your hip and the counter.
“Move Eddie, please, god move.” You encouraged. You wanted - needed Eddie’s cool to break. You wanted him to ruin you. Eddie slowly pulled himself all the way out and pushed himself back into your needy hole. You cried out in pleasure; his pace was slow, but ruthless. Every thrust hit your cervix encouraging your second orgasm of the night. Eddie was biting his lips so hard that it looked like it was going to split and start bleeding. His eyes were transfixed on where the two of you met. You cupped Eddie’s face to bring his gaze back to yours. You felt so good, and didn’t know how well you could take him, but you could tell he was still holding back. You pulled your lips to his ears and whispered gently to him:
“Give me everything, Eddie. I want you to give it to me.” You heard Eddie’s breath hitch and get caught in his throat. He pulled back and studied your face. There was zero hesitation in your stare, only devotion and encouragement. Eddie’s brain short circuited. Eddie grabbed your neck and squeezed as his brutal pace picked up. You felt light headed - the only thing you could see was Eddie’s determined visage and the only thing you could hear was the pornographic sounds of Eddie’s balls hitting your ass. You closed your eyes in pleasure, but Eddie shook you back to him.
“Look at me. Eyes on me.” He growled. His face twisted in animalistic pleasure. You let the small rasps of your breath escape around Eddie’s vice. Eddie pulled out of you completely, making you whine at the loss of contact. Eddie pulled you off the counter by the neck and turned you around so your back was against his toned chest. Eddie pushed your head down so you were bent over the cool counter. Eddie’s large hands slapped down on the curves of your ass before filling you back up. You couldn’t help but yell an ‘oh my god’ as Eddie began pounding into you.
“Not god, doll, just me.” he huffed with a laugh. Your body was on display for Eddie and the more he watched himself disappear and reappear into you, the closer his own release got. He could feel you clenching down on him; you must be close.
“Can you give me another one, sweet? I want you to cum with me okay?” Eddie could barely get the words out of his mouth without the knot in his abdomen snapping.
“Eddie… I-I can’t” You were so fucked out and overstimulated you had no idea if your body could handle any more sensation. To your surprise, Eddie’s arm snaked under your hips to meet your sore clit. He rubbed soft circles into you in rhythm with his intense thrusts. You grabbed onto the edge of the counter and began to hyperventilate. You thought you were going to combust.
“Come on, babe. You can do it. Cum for me,” Eddie wanted his commands to sound encouraging, but he was desperate. However, with his permission your second orgasm of the night hit you like a freight train. You couldn’t feel your legs. You screamed out, unable to feel the difference between pain and indulgence - but you didn’t want it to stop. Your pussy had Eddie in capture, squeezing down on him unthinkably hard. His hips stuttered but he kept on his assault, desperate to cum just as hard as he made you. Like you, Eddie’s orgasm hit him with little lead up. He grabbed your chest to pull you up to him. Eddie whimpered into your ear as you milked him for everything that was in him.
In a flurry of heavy breaths and pounding hearts, you and Eddie stood in silence, basking within each other’s embrace. Begrudgingly, Eddie pulled out of you and pulled his pants back around his slender hips. You straightened yourself out and tucked your underwear back into their normal spot, preventing the remnants of Eddie’s orgasm from leaking down your leg. You guess you still have some work to do. You turn around and look at Eddie as he finishes buckling his belt. He met your glowing complexion with a lovesick grin. You felt like you could stay like this forever, basking in his glow; and he felt the same for you.
The smell of smoke and burnt pumpkin snapped the two of you out of your trances.
“Oh fuck!” Eddie yelps. You both rush to the other side of the kitchen to the small oven now leaking gray smoke. Eddie threw open the oven door and was greeted by a billow of smoke. You grabbed at some rags to wave the smoldering cloud away. Eddie the remnants of two very charred pumpkin pies. He looked at you with a bellowing laugh.
“Guess we’ll be down a couple of pies.”

Giving up control
Emily needs to give up control after a hard day at work, JJ is there to help her wife.
Warnings: smut, strap-ons, bath sex, emotional hurt/comfort, fluff
It was just after lunch when JJ glanced into her wife's office and saw the sign. Emily had been in meetings all morning and had just returned to the BAU, she went straight to her office, shut the door and threw herself into her chair. After ten minutes JJ noticed that the brunette had still not moved to start any paperwork, but she had switched the small orchid plant to the far side of her desk. The blonde knew what this meant, the couple had set up a series of subtle clues to let the other know what they needed, without having to actually talk or alert their coworkers. Emily relocating her plant meant she had reached the threshold for mental function for the day, she needed JJ to take charge of things.
Upon recognizing the sign the blonde leapt into action, going first to the kitchenette to grab a fresh cup of coffee, she made her way to the chiefs office. "Rough meetings my love?" she asked after closing the door behind her and setting the mug of coffee on Emily's desk.
"God I hate politics! I wish I could just leave for the day, I honestly don't know how much more I have left Jen." Emily said whilst offering a small smile for the coffee she gratefully sipped.
JJ came around the desk, standing beside her wife's chair she quickly flipped through the stacks of folders setting them into two piles. "Okay just work on these ones until five." she said sliding one pile to the center of the desk whilst moving the other to the side. "We are not on rotation for another few days so it won't be the end of the world if you do the rest tomorrow. Now, have you eaten today? You had one bite of my toast this morning, is that all you've had?"
"Umm, yeah I think so." Emily mumbled whilst sitting forward to open the first folder.
"Okay well I will go and get you lunch, how about you give Henry a call, he should also be on his lunch break about now, he can tell you all about is chess competition this morning." The blonde moved out of the office, taking the already empty mug back with her.
After going out to get Emily's favorite lunch from the cafe and pouring yet another coffee for her wife, JJ returned to check on things.
"Oh my god, you are an angel Jen. Thank you!" The brunette immediately dived into the sandwich with hungry fervor. "I talked to Henry, he did really well in his chess thing, he didn't make it all the way to the top but he was mostly up against seniors. Anyway he couldn't talk for long because he had to get to class but it was really good to hear his voice. Thanks for suggesting it." Emily had settled into the chair and some light was returning to her eyes after the mornings ordeals.
"That is good my love, I have to go back to my desk and finish up my own paperwork, but be ready to go at five I'll come pick you up okay?" JJ said in a carefully commanding voice only she could achieve after years of media liaising.
At exactly five o'clock JJ reentered Emily's office and found her packing away her things and slipping into her coat. "Good girl, I thought I might have to wrangle you away from doing more" the blonde praised.
"No I couldn't even if I wanted to." Emily said resignedly.
The persistent melancholy worried JJ, but she knew a night of pampering would help pick her wife up. The two made their way out of the offices, and JJ secured her wife in the passenger seat before rounding the car to get in at the drivers side. Before long they were merging onto the highway meeting the swarms of traffic headed home for the night.
"Uh, Jen you are going the wrong way, the kids school is the first exit." stated Emily whilst throwing a look over her shoulder at the missed turn.
"Oh didn't I mention? Pen is babysitting all the kids tonight. She was happy to do it and they needed some time with their Aunt anyway, lord knows they have enough of their stuff at her house." JJ answered whilst reaching out to take the brunettes hand and kissing it lightly on the knuckles.
After pulling up at their house JJ once again rounded the car to help her wife. "Okay my love, you go get in the bath I will come and bring you up some wine in a minute." She kissed Emily firmly and sent her on her way up the stairs.
She took out her phone and called one of the numbers that was scrawled into the address book Emily kept by the phone.
"Hello, this is Marcel's you are speaking with Adrian, how may I help you today?" came the cheerful greeting.
"Hello Adrian, can you please tell Mr Wiedmaier that Jennifer Prentiss is calling."
"Certainly Ma'am one moment." The man knew this name was on the list to field calls straight to the head chef.
"Jennifer darling how are you?"
"Robert! I am doing well, listen I know you are busy tonight, but Emily has had a rough day at work and I wanted to get her favorite for dinner, do you think I could send someone to pick up some of your delicious lamb for her tonight?"
"Occh I shall make her the full courses! Do not worry I shall send one of my boys out to your house with it. You tell my girl to feel better." He handed the phone back to the man who took their address then promised the food would be there within the hour.
Once the food was settled JJ poured a glass of wine and headed up to the ensuite. She paused in their room to slip out of work clothes and into the tank top that made Emily wild and some soft lounge pants.
Emily was laid back in the tub with soft jazz playing from her phone on the sink, several candles in the room gave a comforting atmosphere. The blonde settled herself on the tile next to the bath and handed her wife the wine. "How are you feeling my love?"
"My body feels better but my mind is still as busy as ever."
"I'm sorry honey" JJ rested her hand on one bubble clad knee, before dropping her hand fully into the nearly too hot water. She drew soft swirls on the surface watching the steam rise into the cool air. She carefully slipped her ring off her middle finger, and using a slight of hand Spencer had taught her, she passed it to her left whilst bringing her hand back out of the water. "Oh no! My ring must of slipped off!" she said with convincing sincerity.
Emily quickly shifted more upright to peer into the water, but the bubbles made it impossible to see anything. "You might have to feel for it Jen" she said completely oblivious to her wife's deception.
"Good plan" JJ replied smirking to herself. She once again returned her hand to the water, reaching all the way down to the smooth ceramic at the bottom. She traced her hand along her wife's legs, still feigning the search. "Hmmm I can't seem to find it." she said innocently after several more pointed caresses.
"I would think not, searching like that." Emily said with one eyebrow raised.
"would you like me to stop?"
"Don't you dare." Emily growled leaning over to take the blondes lips in a passionate kiss.
JJ continued her ministrations working her way up to the brunettes core. As she let her thumb caress the slick folds, her wife drew a sharp breath before moaning at the feeling. She continued to work the brunette, making sure to keep to the outside for as long as possible. She massaged Emily's clit whilst using one finger to trace teasingly around her opening.
"Please Jen, more please." Emily begged. JJ immediately obliged and thrust in two fingers starting a slow and steady rhythm to match her earlier patterns. It didn't take long for the brunette to throw her head back and push her hips up, seeking more pressure from her lover. The blonde picked up the pace and curved her fingers to drag against her G-spot with every thrust. Emily came with a loud moan, slumping back into the water with her eyes still firmly closed.
"How's your mind now my love?" JJ asked whilst slipping her ring back onto her finger.
"So very quiet." Emily replied contentedly. The two sat together listening to the jazz for a few minutes more.
"Alright lets get you out before this water gets too cold." JJ stood offering her hand to her wife before wrapping her in a big fluffy towel.
The two made their way into the bedroom, JJ sat Emily on the bed and went to get her some clothes. She brought back on of her old university shirts and her own new sweatpants. She knew when her wife was sad she liked to wear JJ's clothes, and she had been eyeing her new sweats for weeks whilst making pointed comments about how old hers were getting.
"You are letting me wear them!" Emily asked as she saw what her wife had returned with.
"Anything for you baby" JJ replied kissing her wife before turning to fetch a cozy pair of slippers.
Once dressed they made their way downstairs, settling on the couch to watch reality TV. JJ had poured them both a glass of red before getting comfortable with her wife.
"We could just order chinese, its a bit late to start cooking I think" Emily stated after their program ended.
"Don't worry I have something better in mind. In fact it should be here any minute." JJ replied. True to her word five minutes later the doorbell rang and the blonde hopped up, grabbed her wallet from her coat pocket and opened the door. She tipped the boy generously and instructed him to give her thanks to the whole kitchen. She came back to the lounge room and set the various containers down on the coffee table.
"Oh my god! is that Marcel's?" Emily squealed after seeing the various dishes and the intoxicating scents coming from each.
"Yep! I asked him to send us your favorites, he says he hopes you feel better." JJ called from the kitchen where she was grabbing utensils, napkins and more wine. When she re-entered the living room she was wrapped in a massive hug from her wife before being kissed soundly.
"I don't deserve you Jennifer Prentiss." Emily said once they had both settled onto the floor by the coffee table.
"Hey we look out for each other my love." JJ replied with a soft peck.
After eating every last morsel of the three courses and dessert, the two sat back on the couch slightly stuffed and very happy. JJ shifted so she could play with Emily's hair as they watched the next episode. After nearly an hour of quiet watching Emily spoke up "Jennifer baby, I love when you take care of me. And this has been amazing and I do feel better, but I-" she paused not really sure how to continue.
"What do you need my love?"
"I need you to fuck me. I need you to fuck me until I cant even think anymore, bacause I don't think I am going to be able to sleep toight otherwise. Is that okay?" she asked very quickly and quietly.
"Of course it is my love, you know I would do anything for you." JJ said, she shifted to get up and held out her hand for her wife. Once the brunettes hand was in hers she led them upstairs to the bedroom. "Strip and get on the bed." She demanded calmly, slipping into the dom role Emily needed from her for the night. Seeing her instructions were being followed she turned into the closet and pulled down their box of toys from the top shelf. She quickly picked out all the things she would need, then stripped down and changed into a sheer black lingerie set. She fastened a black harness over her thighs, gathered all her supplies and headed back into the bedroom.
Emily gasped at the sight of her wife, the black lingerie a stark contrast to her usual baby blues and whites. She had to admit it looked damn hot though.
JJ dumped everything onto the settee at he foot of the bed, plucked up the silk ties and climbed onto the mattress by her wife's head. The couple had taken to using silk ties early in their relationship, after a particularly rough night with real handcuffs had led to some awkward questions from their coworkers. The blonde grabbed Emily's hands and tied them to each other at the wrists, threading the silk through one of the slats in the headboard to secure the whole thing. She carefully tested the hold, making sure there was enough give in the knots to not cut off circulation. She then took the last silk and held it out before meeting her wife's eyes. "I want to blindfold you tonight okay?" At Emily's enthusiastic reply she proceeded to fasten the silk across her eyes. "I also want you to not speak tonight, so you can focus on your other senses. Do you remember our nonverbal safe que?" She asked. Emily tapped three times on the headboard showing she remembered. "Good girl."
After re-checking the blindfold and silk cuffs JJ jumped off the bed and looked at her wife. Emily lay fully stretched out and naked on the bed the silks were firey red against her pale skin and made the whole scene more sensual. The blonde came up with a plan for the evening and returned to kneel next to her wife on the matress.
JJ leant over carefully allowing her hair to spill forward onto her wife's bare torso, the blonde began moving her head along the length of Emily's body, dragging her hair over every inch of exposed skin. After several full body passes and increasingly sensuous moans from the brunette JJ flipped her hair back over her shoulder and began tracing the path again, this time with delicate finger tips. She carefully avoided her wife's core and her taut nipples, but began whispering a string of praises for her wife as she worked.
Soon Emily's body erupted in goosebumps at the sensations, with that the blonde couldn't wait any longer for more contact. She swung her leg up and straddled her wife's lower thighs, allowing her to bend forward and kiss the brunettes ample chest.
JJ traced wet open mouthed kisses around the edge of each breast, nipping lightly as she reached the delicate underside. She drew her tongue through the valley between the breasts, then finally turned her attention to the rosy nipples. she took one into her mouth, suckling gently, as she twirled, pulled and pinched the other. Emily moaned her approval at every stage and thrust her chest up into her wife's mouth. After working her wife up into a ragged breathed frenzy she let go of the nipple with a soft pop and sat up before swinging off the bed completely. Emily whined at the loss of contact, making JJ smirk. The blonde quickly secured the dildo she had chosen on to the harness she was wearing. She also brought the small bullet vibrator with her as she climbed back onto the mattress. She threw the vibe onto the far side of the bed before laying herself fully on top of her wife, allowing the dick to lay between them. She kissed Emily deeply tugging on her lips and dominating the brunette with her tongue, she reached down between them carefully and slid her fingers through her wife's dripping folds. Her earlier work and sensuous teasing had served to get her wife well and truly wet, but she wanted to stretch her a little before using the large dildo she had chosen. She quickly pushed in two fingers and began firmly thrusting, scissoring her digits and pushing against the brunettes walls to prepare her. when she felt Emily start clamping down on her fingers she pulled out completely. Sitting back she repositioned herself between the brunettes thighs, grasping Emily's knees and pushing them up to fold onto her chest. this position gave her total control and access. She quickly aligned herself and thrust halfway in, allowing a second for readjustment then pushing in the rest of her length. The brunette bucked after a moment signaling she was ready for more. JJ wasted no time, whipping out and slamming back in. She set a fast pace, grateful for every ab workout she had ever done, allowing her to keep up the strong deep thrusts. Before long Emily had devolved into mewling moans with each thrust, her skin was violently flushed and her breath was coming fast and deep. The blonde knew her wife was close, she removed her hands from her lovers hips and used one to start massaging her clit, whilst the other came to apply pressure to the small stretch of skin below the brunettes taut opening. At the last touch of pressure Emily came with a moaning scream, JJ continued to thrust, slowly downgrading until Emily tapped out at the head board.
"Good girl, you did so well. you look so beautiful when you come baby." JJ continued to praise her wife as she removed her blindfold then unclipped the dildo and removed the harness from her own thighs. She made sure to always keep skin contact with the brunette knowing she would need it. After freeing herself fully she shifted to lay half next to- half on her wife. She reached for the vibrator, switched it on and placed it on her wife's clit, knowing she would still be incredibly sensitive. The blonde nuzzled into Emily's neck kissing and sucking on her delicate skin, careful to only leave marks where they could be easily covered at work. The brunette started bucking into the vibrator, despite the earlier overstimulation. JJ responded in kind, turning the vibe to the highest setting and running tight circles around the hard nub. She then took Emily's lips in her own and kissed her passionately. When they both needed air JJ lent their foreheads together and stared into her wife's dark eyes. "I love you so much baby, can you come for me?" Emily came immediately whimpering and pushing the blondes hand away from her core. JJ turned of the vibrator and pulled her wife close, untying each wrist she kissed it, checking for any marks or bruising. Happy to find none she settled her wife's head on her chest and kissed her hair whilst continuing her litany of praises from earlier.
Emily was asleep within minutes, and JJ carefully slid out from under her wife. She threw on a robe and padded downstairs to pack away all their mess from dinner, turn off the TV and set the coffee machine for the morning. Returning to the bedroom she quickly washed her face stripped out of the now uncomfortable underwear and went back to cuddle with her wife. They rarely got to sleep nude nowadays, with kids likely to barge in at any moment or need comfort in the night, JJ was reveling at the rare privilege. She also knew the skin contact would further help settle her wife, however, the brunette was already sleeping with a contented look on her face, and was more peaceful than she had seemed in weeks.

plsplspls can i request some norman fluff i am hyperfixating on him again 🫶🏼🥲
I was going to write this last night but got tired and have so many thoughts about norman that I wanted to be fully rested. Norman Bates you will always be famous to me bbg
Norman Bates makes me insane
If you want domestic life with a slasher, Norman is the closest you will get in my opinion. Aside from his mother, he truly is just the calmest man who gets anxiety with any kind of flirtation.
Say you meet at the diner when he goes out once. He's the town oddball. The kook. Everyone knows that after his mother died and the highway was moved, everything slightly altered in him
and you move into town and you get a job as a waitress and Norman is the nicest of your regulars. he always comes once a week to get out of the house, never stays for long because he has so much to do, and always gets the same thing.
"Eggs overeasy today Norman?" you tease. His cheeks flush as he goes to correct you, never once blaming you for potentially getting his order wrong.
"Oh u-"
"Scrambled Norman. I know, I was just pulling your leg." He flushes and smiles. He nods.
"Thank you." You maneuvered around him and to the back, dropping off his order. After he had cleared his plate he waited patiently for you to come around with his check. You always came in a timely manor and told him briefly about things that had happened over the week in town.
Today when you came back around, you had a particular smile on your face.
"Your breakfast is on me this morning Norman," you declared. He gave you a confused look. "On one condition." He cleared his throat, nodding for you to go one. "I get to come see your hotel and we have dinner over there."
a DATEEEE??????????
Norman Bates went a deep shade of red and then smiled. He had the most innocent smile on his face, you never would have guessed anything was wrong with him. In the moment he completely forgot about his mother.
he accepted gratefully, saying he would pick things up special. You promised to be by the next day around 5.
you came by the next day and Norman had never seen someone so beautiful. He saw you in your work clothes, your apron usually covered in the muck of your morning.
you were wearing something you thought date appropriate and he had gotten one of his better sweaters out of the back of his closet. One of the ones his mother had gotten for him to wear out.
He was cagey at the dinner.
You couldn't even glance up the stairs. He was already disobeying by having you in the house. But he wasn't cagey enough to deter you from having a good time.
Norman was shy but he had great conversation. All the people who came by his hotel made for great stories. You brought stories from the diner, from before you had moved out there
You noted he didn't have any help out there and he was clearly a busy man.
'Norman have you ever thought about hiring help?"
"Who would be my waitress?"
"I can make you eggs here!"
it was a bad idea. horrible even. Norman knew this but his desire to have you around was so strong, even if it wasn't technically safe for you. How long could he hold his mother back? What if he insured you were always here when someone else was, when there were people in the motel?
He started to try and find reasons to keep you around. Things that needed to be done but not necessarily as soon as he was having you do them.
You helped him paint the outside of the motel. You changed the bulbs in the sign. You got new linens and looked through the logbook for frequent fliers and silly fake names.
Norman couldn't shake it though. His mother would always be there to argue the worst of you. Even if you were helping him and not harming him, even if you hadn't made any actual move.
he wanted to kill his mother. but she was a shut in, she had no one else to help her! he was trapped in a cage of her making, one he could not leave. the dutiful son.
he made the first move. He wanted to kiss you silly since the first time he had seen you, imagining how your lips tasted in shameful nights.
You were helping him in the office. He was back in the parlor while you sat at the desk out-front. You had just checked in a couple, clearly people who were not currently married to each other.
They had used ridiculous fake names. Norman walked back to the front of the room. He looked particularly handsome, wearing a white button up shirt tucked in his slacks.
"If we were fake married, what would our names be?" you questioned. Norman took a bite of the apple in his hand and shrugged. He leaned against the desk.
"Mr and Mrs Disney," he suggested. You nodded slowly.
"Mr and Mrs Flinstone."
"Too one the nose. That show just premiered," he suggested." He looked over your shoulder at the log book. He had gotten so used to having you around, so comfortable with your presence. He liked imaginig the two of you as a married couple. The Bates Motel with two Bates once again.
"Mr and Mrs Disney it is," you teased. You looked up at him and he was so close, his face just hovering beside yours. You smiled cheekily.
Before you had even comprehended it, he had kissed you.
Norman wanted that life. He liked the idea of that life. Maybe his mother would be okay with it if you were married. Maybe he could sway her.
Without even knowing it, you had helped him muster courage to fight his mother. A problem you barely knew existed. You had heard her, you had thought it was weird you had never seen her, but you trusted Norman.
A ring on your finger would be so nice, he thought. So nice.
Finally put a cork in the townsfolks mouths.
Norman took a wife?

Scenario: told parents about SO and now you have to rope someone into it for the holidays with Eddie!!
ooo so i did this already here, but this time, i'm going to switch it around and have eddie ask her
warnings: not proofread, a bit long for a blurb
❀ masterlist ❀
"wake up! wake up! wake up!" eddie's voice sounded around you which was weird because you distinctly remember falling asleep at your house alone, not at eddie's. you would've written it off as a dream if you weren't feeling his hands on your shoulder and arm, attempting to shake you awake. when you cracked an eye open, you saw him standing over you, so no, this wasn't a dream.
"eddie, what the fuck?" you groaned as you grabbed your blanket and pulled it over your head to block him out.
"nope, not doing that," eddie told you, pulling the blanket out of your grasp before you could fully cover your head and placing it back where it was. you just groaned even louder and crossed your arms over your eyes.
it was too early for this shit right now.
"eddie, please don't take offense to this, but for the love of god, get out of my house right now."
"nope." you felt the bed dip beside you where he sat. then, his hands were on your arms and he lightly pulled them up to see your eyes.
"what time is it?"
he glanced at his watch. "5:47."
your eyes about popped out of your head. "a.m.?"
"yeah."
you propped yourself on your elbows and gave him an incredulous look. "okay, now i mean this offensively. get the fuck out."
"you don't even want to know why i'm here?" eddie asked and when he spoke, you finally took notice of the pleading look in his eyes. with that, you were a little more awake and willing to hear what he had to say.
letting out a sigh, you scooted all the way up to sit up fully and listen. "out with it, eds."
"you know how we're supposed to leave tomorrow to see my aunt in new york?"
you nodded, too tired to verbally confirm your knowledge of the plan.
"well, wayne talked to her a couple of nights ago to tell her he wouldn't be there until next week because he can't get off work, but we were still supposed to go tomorrow. but, she called last night and said that we should leave as early as we can today because they are gonna start doing some road work on the highway later today and that if we leave earlier, we'll run into less traffic. i tried to call you last night to tell you that, but you didn't answer."
"so we have to leave right now?" you inquired as you rubbed your eyes. you were glad you were mostly packed anyway. all you had to add were your everyday items.
"yeah, i'd like to. it's going to be a long drive anyway. the last thing we want is traffic slowing us down, especially christmas traffic at that."
"okay," you spoke before yawning and nodding. he didn't seem finished though. "is there something else?"
"yeah..." whatever it was, he wasn't chomping at the bit to share it.
you were getting nervous. "what is it, eddie?"
"when we were saying our goodbyes on the phone, she said that she was really excited to meet my girlfriend. i guess, from what wayne's told her, she thought that since we hang out together all the time, we're going out," eddie stated, letting his words hang in the air for you to piece together.
"but i'm not your girlfriend."
"i know that."
"did you tell her that?"
his lack of response wasn't boosting your confidence.
"eddie?" your tone was one of warning.
"i didn't realize what she said until after she hung up."
"eddie," you whined, leaning forward and resting your head on his shoulder for a moment before pulling back. "so, what now? you want me to play your girlfriend?"
when you said it, you were half-joking, but the look on eddie face read of complete seriousness. "oh, for fuck's sake," you grumbled under your breath.
"i'm sorry," eddie apologized, a begging undertone in his voice, "it's just that it's my first time seeing her since i was like ten and i don't want to look like an idiot. and she said she was excited to meet my girlfriend and i don't want to let her down, so please for me, do this. we're already pretty close as it is. we'll just have to embellish some things." when you silently looked off in consideration, eddie spoke up one more time. "come on, y/n. please. you owe me."
you cut your eyes back to him because he was right. you did owe him for saving you from a few bad guys at the hideout by pretending to be your boyfriend, but the circumstances were completely different. he was pretending for maybe a minute max. you were staying with his aunt for two weeks.
you hated that you looked back at him because it made it so much harder to not give in. his stupid big brown doe eyes were making it impossible to deny him even though you knew you were going to say yes. he knew it too.
"fine," you said softly and no less than a second after the word left your lips, eddie's arms wrapped around you tightly.
"thank you so much! i owe you big time."
"yeah, you do," you commented, a light chuckle following your words before you patted his arm. "alright, boyfriend, let me go so i can finish packing and change so we can leave."

she thought he was all hers. she was wrong. but revenge is always sweet, and a little melted.
warnings | 18+ smut, serious angst, Joel is a cheater in this one and gets what he deserves (within reason)
a/n | i don't have an explanation for this one, it just sorta happened, sorry about it.
...............................
Her hands are shaking all over the steering wheel, enough to force her into pulling off the highway before the tears can fracture her vision anymore. And all she can do is laugh, a bitter thing in her throat, because she’s turned into a complete cliche now. Idling on the shoulder of the road while the texas sun splits and sinks in the sky, crying like a fool over a man she shouldn’t have given the time of day to.
But he had been so sweet, hadn’t he? A bit hopeless when they met, standing in the frozen food aisle, pinching the bridge of his nose with one hand and cradling a cellphone to his ear with the other. She had made an offhanded comment that he seemed to be negotiating a hostage crisis when he hung up, a sheepish smile slanting across his face and a surprisingly earnest explanation that his twelve-year-old daughter had just gotten her first period and he had been screamed out the door for provisions.
“Don’t tell her I told you that though. Pretty sure she’d burst my eardrums for letting that slip.”
“Your secret’s safe with me. But could you use some help maybe?”
“I look that pitiful, huh?”
“Maybe just a little.”
She was gone from the start, helping him pick out Ben and Jerry's and tampax pearls while he rambled about his daughter. Her smile spreading in sync with the flush creeping up his neck, typing her number into his phone while he leaned against the side of his truck, a nervous palm rubbing the back of his neck. He called her that night, cute and eager, wanting to thank her for the help, and to ask her out. And of course she said yes. Afterall, she had checked for a wedding ring. She thought she had been so clever for that.
Three months, spring sliding into summer and something she thought was love slipping big and bright between her ribs. She got to know his daughter during weeknight dinners on their back porch, inside jokes zinging right over his head. And while Sarah was at her mom’s every weekend, Joel would invite her over and they’d spend the hours tangled up in his bed, bodies sticky and slick with sweat blown cool by the box fan in his window, talking in circles around each other, promises stamped into skin.
“Don’t worry about it, darlin. We’re as good as divorced. She’s just dragging her feet signing the papers, that’s all. Haven’t lived together since Sarah was real little. I’m all yours.”
“It’s okay, Joel, I understand. It must be so hard, though, having to do all of this on your own, in a way.”
She scoffs at the sting of that memory, the way his palm had been trailing up and down her spine, the sigh he had let out at her words. She had interpreted it as a soulful weariness that only made her love him a little more. But there were warning signs too.
“Hey, darlin, I’m really sorry but I have to cancel tonight.” She was already pulling into his neighborhood when he called, new dress, the perfume he liked so much, a tray of brownies in the passenger seat, sprinkled with powdered sugar, how she knew Sarah liked them.
“Oh, is everything okay?”
“Yeah, I think Sarah picked up a stomach bug at camp today is all.”
“Oh no, can I get you guys anything from the store? Soup? Ginger ale?”
“That’s real sweet of you, darlin, but I don’t want you to catch anything. Can we take a raincheck though?” What a good father, what a good man.
“Of course, Joel. Tell Sarah I hope she starts feeling better soon.” He had already hung up, quick and clipped. And when she drove past his house only a moment later, she could have sworn she saw Sarah in their backyard swinging on that old playset of hers. It had been easy enough to write off as a trick of the light and her eyes tired after a day of work. Though she couldn’t figure out whose car had been parked in his driveway, not his and not his brother’s. But he made good on his raincheck that Friday, showing up at her apartment in that button-down she liked so much and a bouquet in his hand, not letting her get a word in before he was pulling her into a hard kiss that made her forget to even ask if Sarah was feeling better. He was always good at that, pulling her apart, just a little overwhelming in the wander of his hands, his mouth, laying her down right on the floor of her tiny living room after kicking her front door shut.
“Missed you so bad. Been thinking about you all week. Thinking about this pussy. How sweet she gets for me. Just for me, huh?” Already mouthing at her clit through the cotton of her panties, his words thrumming up her spine, making her hips jolt in the heavy hold of his palms.
“Yes, Joel, it’s all for you, fuck, you’re so good.” So, so, so good, stripping her down and settling back between her thighs, tongue dragging through her cunt, a hum in his throat as he held the insistent heat of his mouth against her core, pulling pleasure from her like he owned it. The ropes of muscle in his forearm jumping, holding her down by her pelvis, not letting up until she was shaking with it, his scruff scraping against the inside of her thigh, a small mercy in the kiss he pressed there.
“Are we seriously about to fuck on the floor?”
“What’s wrong with the floor?”
“Joel.” Total theatrics with the roll of his eyes, a petulant huff as he got up, dragging her along with him. a fumbling tangle into her bedroom, making her laugh with his feigned meanness in throwing them down onto the sheets, wide eyes and breathless beats.
“That better, darlin?” No answer, too busy tugging him out of his clothes, his cock solid and warm against her thigh. Always a stretch, pleasure mingling and mixing up with pain with the press of his hips against hers. Always careful, considerate, pressing kisses to her sternum while she opened up around him, whispering into her skin.
“Feel so good for me, darlin. Like you were made just for me.” She felt like it too, like she’d never had anything like this before. The obscene slap of slicked skin, swallowing each other’s gasps as he pushed and pulled them through a hard rhythm. Her ankles hooked around his hips, open, wanting, receiving everything he gave her, the both of them sinking their teeth into each other’s pleasure, furling up close and unraveling all at once with each other’s names held in their throats. She had told him she loved him that night, in the after of it all, her chest pressed to his back, limbs tangled up. But he didn’t respond, already asleep.
Her cell phone ringing startles her out of the past, but when she sees who it is she tosses it back into the passenger seat. And her mind settles into something like disbelief, replaying the day. How differently it began compared to how it ended.
She woke up that morning with anticipation thick in her stomach for what the day ahead would bring. She thought it was a big step, the step, inviting her to a family cookout. Playing house with the Millers. Sarah and her in the kitchen most of the morning, crockpots bubbling and watermelons split while he and his brother putzed around in the backyard with the grill, some frivolous joke about men regressing to the stone age lobbed out easy and effortless. And then people started coming, coworkers and friends and all the rest and Joel wouldn’t look at her and she wore her new sundress so he would but he wouldn’t. He wouldn’t and she worried over the potato salad and the kebabs like maybe she could make right whatever she had clearly made wrong. Something about a man’s heart in his stomach, right?
Everyone else eating and she couldn’t find him in the crowd, Tommy telling her he ran out to get ice cream from the HEB for dessert just as she slipped in the front door. She nearly laughed because why was she here? Who invites their ex-wife to a family cookout?
And then, and then, and then.
“You must be the babysitter Joel mentioned. I admit I thought Sarah was a little too old for that but she absolutely loves you so thank you for helping out.”
And then, and then, and then.
“Hi, Tommy! It’s good to see you.”
And then, and then, and then.
“Oh, he didn’t tell you? We’ve decided to make another go of it after some time off. We haven’t told Sarah yet, but I think it will be good for all of us.”
And then.
“-- a family again. It’s right, don’t you think?”
And then.
“Sorry, what did you say your name was? I hope Joel is paying you well, and if he’s not, you come to me, okay? There’s gonna be some changes around here, but I’d love for you to stay on for our Sarah.”
And then.
Out the door, white noise in her ears so loud she only barely thought to grab her keys and shuffle into her flip flops. Out the door and into her car and driving to the same HEB she met him in three months ago being a good father and a good man and a little hopeless and–
She pulled in right as he was walking out of the store, a placid expression on his face, not a care in the world.
“Darlin? What–”
“Do not call me that.”
“What, what is it? Baby, please don’t cry.” A sick feeling in her stomach at the pull toward him, that tiny want for him to comfort her, to make it all better, quickly seared and singed into more anger.
“Were you gonna tell me, Joel? Or were you just gonna see how long you could keep this little game going, huh? Is that it? You think you’re so smart? Not gonna get caught fucking the babysitter?” Instant recognition sliding down his face, the quick slip of it made her laugh as his eyes darted around the parking lot.
“Let’s talk like adults, okay? There’s no need to make a scene.”
“Oh, fuck you. That’s what you're worried about though, right? That someone’s gonna see. Worried someone’s gonna go tell your wife what you’ve been up to all summer, huh?” His jaw slack, an answer in his silence. She shook her head, anger simmering beneath the hurt.
“Did you care about me at all?”
“Of course I did, I do. Darlin, please, I just got confused, let me–”
“Don’t do that.”
“Please, I’ll–”
“No, Joel. We are done, do you understand me? I care about Sarah too much to let any of this go on any longer. You know what? I just hope that your wife has a good enough head to figure it out for herself. I hope she leaves you, I really do.” Hurt crumpled across his face and she wanted more of it, wanted to dig her thumb into it and twist.
“I– loved– you– you– fucking– lying– lowlife– bastard.” She’s not sure how it happened, though it would be the topic of conversation at the neighborhood women’s book club for weeks to come. Some young thing tearing into Joel Miller, smacking him six ways to Sunday with her flip flop in the grocery store parking lot. Cornering him against the side of his pickup truck, big strong man curled up with his hands over his head as she rained down perfect hellfire on him. He had dropped his grocery bag, two gallon containers of ice cream sweating out in the summer sun, her bare foot stepping sticky into a puddle of vanilla.
“Don’t you ever do anything like this to anyone ever again, Joel Miller.” The grand finale, that ice cream of his melted enough that it was too easy to pick up a carton, pop off the lid, and dump the dribbling liquid over the top of his head before primly shoving her flip flop back on and getting in her car.
She finds herself laughing through a throat heavy with snot, the image of him in her mind, blinking hard through a thick stream of slurried ice cream, shoulders up to his ears, pure shock in his shudder.
“Worth it.” One thing that goes right today, she leans over to rummage through her glove compartment, sighing when she finds the nearly empty carton of cigarettes, lighter tucked into the crumpled box. She quit two months ago, secondhand smoke around Sarah and all that. But how easy it is now to roll down her window and take a crackling drag that she blows out into the fading afternoon, smoke whipped away by the endless whir of cars passing by. Peace in the inhale and exhale, promptly disrupted by her phone ringing again. Cigarette dangling between her lips, she scoffs between her teeth. Ten missed calls. She doesn’t even listen to the voicemails, simply chucks the thing out her window along with her cigarette butt and shifts her car back into drive.
She’ll be okay.

You Look So Pretty, Pretty Like The Sun - Chapter 6
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10

By the time Buck entered the station late in the day, the sun was still shining brightly. He almost wished he didn't have to work today; everyone seemed to be out and about, if the busy highways were any indication. The thought of relaxing in Tommy's backyard with a bottle of beer and the mental image of Tommy shirtless, lounging in the sun did little to help his lack of motivation to go in.
The station was filled with the usual hustle and chatter of firefighters on duty. Buck quickly mumbled his hellos in passing and went to change into his uniform. As he fastened the last strap, Ravi entered the changing room.
"Cap's missing today," Ravi mentioned as he crossed the room to his locker.
"Hen's in charge?" Buck asked, shutting the door of his locker.
"Yep, I'm the stand-in for the day."
"Better than Anderson," Buck pointed out. He didn't have much against that guy, he just seemed a bit slower, sometimes tried to cut corners and whined too much when he had to do something tedious. At least he trained Ravi himself, he knew what he was capable of. "Anyone else around?"
"Yeah, upstairs. Only Eddie is missing," Ravi replied, adjusting his own uniform.
Buck nodded and headed towards the stairs.
"Where's Cap?" Buck asked as he draped himself on the sofa, his body sinking into the worn, comfortable cushions. Chimney, already there, grunted and shoved his shoulder to make space, his face barely lifting from the magazine he was flipping through
"Jacumba," Hen informed him while scrolling through her phone, her thumb moving swiftly over the screen.
"Jacumba? What's in Jacumba?" Buck pulled a face, puzzled. His eyebrows knitted together as he tried to recall if he knew anything about the place. His mind drew blank.
"Wish I knew. I came in and saw that I was rostered in," Hen replied with a shrug, her attention divided between the conversation and whatever was on her phone.
"Hey," Eddie greeted as he ascended the last step of the staircase. His eyes swept the room quickly, noting the absence of their captain. "Cap's not here?"
"Jacumba," the three of them chorused, almost in unison.
"Okay?" Eddie's eyebrow arched slightly, but didn't ask more. Instead, he headed to the kitchen area and rummaged through the cupboards, the sound of doors opening and closing filling the room.
"Hey, Eddie," Buck called out, craning his neck to look in his direction. "How was that date?"
"What date?" Eddie responded, his head emerging from behind a cupboard door, a box of cereal in his hand.
"Your date," Buck raised his eyebrow, as he sat up a bit straighter. "You know the one I babysat for?"
"Oh, yeah. Good."Eddie's gaze dropped to the cereal box as he scanned the label,
"That's exactly what you say after a good date." Chimney quipped finally looking up from the magazine.
"Uh-oh, trouble in paradise?" Hen asked jokingly.
"What? No! Everything's fine. Marisol is fine. We are fine," Eddie protested, his eyes landing on Buck, almost accusingly. "We should ask Buck that. How's Tommy? You buck up any more dates recently?"
"I'm only terrible on the first date. And Tommy's fine. Why are you changing the subject?" Buck shot back.
"I'm not changing the subject. There's nothing more to say. We had dinner, it was fine," Eddie insisted, his tone tinged with defensiveness.
Before Buck could probe deeper, the shrill of the bell rang out, cutting through the air with an urgent alarm.
"Saved by the bell. Literally." Hen chuckled as they all stood and rushed downstairs.
The trip downtown to a four-car collision blurred past as they wove through traffic, sirens blaring and lights flashing. The inside of the truck was quieter than usual, a common occurrence when one of their own was missing. The hum of the engine and the wail of the sirens were the only sounds breaking the silence.
Buck's phone pinged, and he was quick to reach for the phone out of his pocket. Tommy's name flashed across the screen.
Tommy: Have a good shift. Stay safe.
Buck reread the message a few times as a grin split across his face, warmth filling his chest. He quickly typed out a reply and looked up to everyone staring at him.
"What?" He asked.
"You are so down bad for the man Buckley," Hen tsk'ed as she nudged Buck's shoulder playfully.
"Seriously. Stop stealing my post-marriage glow with all the sick, puppy love thing you got going on." Chimney feigned exasperation, gave him a mock glare.
Buck's face flushed a deeper shade of red, and he shook his head. "Come on, guys," he protested lightly, still chuckling. "Let's focus on the job."
"Oh, we are focused." Eddie smirked, joining into the teasing. Traitor.
As they parked near the crash scene, they shifted into their roles and went to help the injured. Luckily no one was DUA and with Hen barking out the orders, they had everyone ready for transport to the nearest hospital.
"So what?" Buck inquired again as he hoisted the gear from the pavement. "Did you guys fight or something?"
"Buck," Eddie's voice groaned out, tinged with irritation. "We didn't fight. The date was fine, why are you so interested?"
"I don't know, man, you're acting weird about it," Buck pointed out, his gaze fixed on Eddie, searching for some clue in his friend's demeanor.
"How am I acting weird?" Eddie countered, his voice rising slightly, his brow furrowing in either confusion or irritation—it was hard to tell which.
"You're deflecting. And being all, I don't know, secretive."
"Drop it," Eddie muttered and walked up faster to the truck. Buck looked at his retreating back and sighed as he sped up as well to catch up. Something was definitely up.
————-
Unfortunately, Buck had no time to hassle Eddie further for answers. The calls kept coming, one after another, with no break. Before long, the black of night began to give way to the early hints of dawn. Their last call ended up being a cat stuck in a tree—of all the things. Buck drew the short straw and was unlucky enough to be the one to climb up and get the gnarly thing out of the high branches.
His annoyance grew as, for the fourth time, the moment he got closer, the cat kept climbing higher. Each tentative step he took up the ladder seemed to send the cat further out of reach, its yellow eyes watching him with suspicion. The branches swayed slightly, making the task even more tedious.
He finally managed to grab it near the top, where the branches were thinner. While he wore thick gloves to protect his hands, the cat found his exposed face to be fair game. Its claws swiped at his cheek and forehead as it hissed and tried to squirm out of his grip. By the time he got down, he returned with souvenirs—namely, the scratches on his face that stung with each movement.
"Shut it," Buck grumbled to the team, who were cackling in the background. He passed the cat to its relieved owner, trying to ignore the snickers and side comments from his fellow firefighters.
"Always the hero, Buckaroo," Chimney grinned, shaking his head. Eddie, struggling to suppress his own laughter, gave Buck a hearty clap on the back,
By the time they returned to the station, drilling Eddie was the last thing on his mind. All he could think about was getting into his bed and not moving for the next twelve hours. He breezed through the shift change, the shift change, quickly changed and grabbed his bag from the lockers.
"See you all tomorrow," he mumbled, waving off any further comments or jokes from the team.
The morning traffic was as congested as ever, making the journey feel even longer. When Buck finally shut the door of his loft behind him, the sun was already peeking through the windows. He tossed his bag by the door and wasted no time in shutting the blinds.
He went to brush his teeth and splashed some water on his face, making the scratches sting. The ping of his phone made his heart skipped a beat. No one from the station would contact him this soon, unless something catastrophic happened in the time it took him to get home, leading him to suspect the message was from Tommy. Finishing up in the bathroom, Buck didn't hesitate; he flopped onto his bed and reached for the phone.
Tommy: Morning, finished with your shift yet?
Buck smiled and, instead of bothering to reply, switched to his contacts and pressed the button for FaceTime. He knew Tommy was probably getting ready for his shift and hoped he could catch him mid-changing. It wasn't a full shift; Tommy said something about training a probie that Buck couldn't recall the details about, the important part was that he knew Tommy was coming over after it.
The screen soon lit up, revealing Tommy's face. To Buck's playful disappointment, he had missed the chance to catch Tommy shirtless; he was already seated in his car, sunglasses on, a coffee thermos in hand, the phone securely mounted. Buck took a moment to just admire the sight, practically salivating at the sight of Tommy's arms bulging in a tight Henley, steering the wheel easily with one hand.
"Hey, Evan," Tommy greeted, his voice cheerful and smooth. Buck watched as he took a double look at the screen. "What happened to your face?"
Buck automatically raised to touch the scratches and smiled sheepishly. "A very grumpy cat stuck in a tree. Eddie is allergic and we already made Ravi go into the sewer recently so it was my turn."
"The curse of being a firefighter," Tommy laughed, the sound rich and warm, echoing through the speakers. "But seriously, are you okay?"
Buck nodded, his grin widening. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a few scratches. The sight of you makes it all better, though."
"Charmer," Tommy shook his head fondly. "You should get some sleep though."
"I'm fine," Buck tried to reassure him, though a yawn betrayed him. "Until you get to Harbor. I'll sleep then."
"If you are sure." Tommy's tone was skeptical but he didn't push it further. "How was the rest of the shift?"
Buck delved into recounting the calls they had responded to, particularly the more memorable one. Halfway through their shift, they were called to an apartment complex. A man, after indulging in a few drinks, decided to play hide and seek with his girlfriend and had comically managed to get himself stuck inside a washing machine. As Buck shared the story, he adjusted the pillows around him, propping up his phone so he could lie down on his side and still see Tommy's face on the screen. The makeshift setup did little to fend off his sleepiness, but he tried to push past it the best he could.
"Has Eddie seemed odd to you recently?" Buck finally asked, his voice heavy, trying to stifle another yawn.
"Not in particular. Why?"
"I don't know, something seems off. Like, I was babysitting Chris, and don't get me wrong—I love the kid and spending time with him—but it was specifically so Eddie could go on a date. And he was wearing his good cologne, you know?" But then I asked how it went and he got all weird and defensive about it."
"Trouble in paradise?"
"That's what Hen said!" Buck chuckled. "But has he said anything to you?"
"Not particularly, we don't really talk about relationships." Tommy's response was nonchalant.
"What do you talk about then?" Buck couldn't resist asking. He loved that Tommy and Eddie were friends.
"Uh, normal stuff, I guess. Work, cars, sports," Tommy shrugged. "He keeps things pretty surface level with me."
"Hmm, maybe you should ask him about it," Buck suggested teasingly, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "You know, to strengthen your bond."
"I'm not going to harass the poor man for you Evan," Tommy backed out a laugh. "You do that enough."
"Hey, who's side are you on?" Buck rolled his eyes and briefly closed them, exhaling contently. "I get no support here."
He heard Tommy's chuckle again. He was saying something more, but Buck could only catch a few words here and there. His eyelids felt heavier with each passing second He tried to focus on Tommy's voice, but it only lulled him further toward sleep. He managed a sleepy grunt in response, his words trailing off as sleep finally claimed him, his phone slipping slightly as he drifted off.
————-
Buck was snuggled up to Tommy, comfortably resting his head on the man's chest as they indulged in a trashy reality show streaming on the laptop propped up on Tommy's knees. Tommy's hands were under Buck's hoodie, his fingertips drawing lazy circles on his back. Buck sighed contently, his own fingers wrapped loosely on Tommy's bicep.
"Oh my god, that's so stupid. Joe is so much better than Kenny and they had a connection!" Buck groaned out, watching as a contestant changed their partner at the last second.
"A whole two-day connection," Tommy pointed out with a low chuckle, the sound rumbling pleasantly beneath Buck's ear.
"That's like months in reality TV time." Buck lifted his head slightly to catch Tommy's amused gaze. "Are you saying you would do the same if we were on?" "
"Evan, if it was us we would have been eliminated in the first episode."
"You know, I almost appeared in the Bachelor. We got a call cause a woman decided to kidnap a contestant, steal a limo and then glued herself to the driveway of the Bachelor Mansion. The cameras were rolling and everything. But Bobby forbade us from signing the waver."
"I'm not surprised. The 118 gets enough publicity without appearing on a scripted show," Tommy pointed out, his fingers continuing to trace gentle patterns on Buck's back "Although, I kind of wish I could see the footage."
"Oh yeah?" Buck grinned and shifted in Tommy's hold to look up at him suggestively. His hand trailed down to Tommy's chest. "Maybe I could give you a preview."
Tommy hummed, his lips curling into a playful smile. Buck shifted again, this time moving to straddle Tommy's hips, his thighs firmly planted on either side, trapping Tommy beneath him. He leaned in closer, his hands resting on Tommy's chest, scrunching up the material under his palms. He took a moment to gaze down at Tommy beneath him before leaning down to press his lips against Tommy's. The sweetness of the kiss quickly disappeared as Buck licked against Tommy's bottom lip hungrily. He felt Tommy's hands tighter around his waist and a second later they moved down to his ass, groping him shamelessly over the sweatpants. The heat of Tommy's touch sent a shiver down Buck's spine. He had a plan to drive Tommy wild, but all thoughts flew out the window the moment Tommy used his strength to sit up from the bed with Buck in his lap and thrust his hips up against Buck's.
Buck groaned into Tommy's mouth, his fingers eagerly sliding up into Tommy's hair, tugging at the strands as if trying to pull him even closer. Buck rocked his hips slightly, trying to find friction, his breath coming in ragged gasps between their heated kisses.
Tommy pulled away and dragged his hands up until they found the hem of Buck's shirt. He tugged at the fabric, urging Buck to remove it. Buck quickly obliged, pulling the hoodie and his and shirt over his head and tossing them somewhere on the floor.
Tommy wasted no time, his lips finding Buck's exposed neck.He kissed, nibbled, and sucked his way along the sensitive skin, uncaring if he left marks.
Buck moaned, tilting his head to the side to give more access. As Tommy's attentions intensified ,Buck rocked his hips more insistently, the pressure building inside him. He could feel Tommy's cock pressing against him even through the jeans and sweatpants that were in the way, matching his own need.
Tommy dipped his head lower, his mouth finding Buck's collarbone and then his chest. HHe sucked at each patch of skin he encountered, his stubble grazing Buck and sending electric jolts straight to his cock. The sensation was overwhelming, each kiss and nip fueling the building need for the man.
The shrill ring of his phone on the nightstand barely registered in Buck's fogged mind. It wasn't until Tommy gently nudged his shoulder, pulling back slightly, that Buck even realized his eyes had fluttered shut.
"Your phone," Tommy pointed out, his voice strained and breathless, his eyes just as clouded with desire.
For a moment, Buck was tempted to ignore the phone, erhaps even fling the device across the room to shut it up and go back to kissing his incredibly hot pilot. But before he could decide, Tommy reached over, grabbed the phone, and handed it to Buck, making the decision for him.
He looked at the caller ID and frowned—it was Athena.
Sorry babe," Buck muttered, offering Tommy the best apologetic eyes he could muster. Tommy groaned softly and let himself fall back onto the bed, his back hitting the mattress with a soft thud. Buck didn't move away, more than content to sit in Tommy's lap. He took a few deep breaths, willing the blood to rush back into his brain.
"Athena," he greeted her, attempting to sound as normal as he possibly could. "What, uh, what can I do for you?"
"Are you home?" she asked, her voice cutting straight to the point. In the background, the faint sound of traffic hummed through the phone.
"Yeah," Buck replied, his gaze shifting to Tommy. Their eyes met briefly, and Tommy raised an eyebrow in question. "What's wrong?"
"I'm on my way to the hospital. They called saying they are checking on Bobby. It doesn't appear too serious, but I am passing your place. Figured you might want a ride."
The words were more effective than if someone threw a bucket of ice cold water over him. Before she even finished speaking, Buck was scrambling to get off Tommy and find the shirt he threw someone.
"Uh, sure, yeah. I'll be ready."
"I'll call when I'm there." Athena wasted no time and ended the call. Buck swore under his breath as he patted his pockets but couldn't feel his wallet. Where did he leave it?
"Is everything okay?" Tommy asked, tone serious and miles away from how it was moments ago. He propped himself up on his elbows, concern etching his features.
"I don't know. Athena said Bobby is in the hospital, it doesn't sound too serious, but she offered to pick me up. I'm sorry, I—"
"Of course," Tommy interjected, as he started to rise from the bed. He reached out to grab his own phone, but Buck placed his hand on Tommy's chest, stopping him. His heart skipped a beat at the mere thought of Tommy leaving.
"No, you don't have to leave," Buck quickly protested. If he wasn't in such a rush to get ready he would groan at how needy he sounded. "Please stay. You can chill here, raid my fridge; I won't be long."
"Are you sure?" Tommy asked, hesitating but making no move to get ready. "It's no trouble."
"I'm sure. Besides," Buck flashed him a smile. "I like having you here. In my bed."
"Okay," Tommy finally nodded. He settled back into the bed, though he reached over to the bedside table and retrieved Buck's wallet, holding it out to him. "Let me know how it goes."
"I will," Buck nodded, taking the wallet and quickly getting dressed. His mind buzzed all the possible scenarios as to why Bobby might be in the hospital, a familiar anxiety gnawing at the back of his mind. He was almost at the stairs, ready to dash, when he paused. Turning back, he crossed the room and pulled Tommy into a quick kiss.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." Buck promised as he pulled away.
"Don't rush. I'll be here," Tommy replied, settling back into the pillows with a reassuring smile.
Nodding, Buck took a deep breath to steady himself, then turned and hurried out of the bedroom.

The ride to the hospital was tense. As they drove, Athena quickly filled Buck in on the details, explaining briefly why Bobby ended up in Jacumba. Buck listened intently, his jaw clenched as a surge of anger welled up inside him. They had just rescued them from a sunken cruise ship, and now Bobby's past was being dredged up again. Buck knew all too well how much guilt gnawed at Bobby, and the idea of someone was using it to harm him made his blood boil.
As they entered the hospital, Athena immediately spotted Bobby.
"Bobby!" She called out, her voice echoing slightly in the hallway. She rushed over to him and enveloped him in a hug. Buck hung back for a moment, letting them have a moment. He took the opportunity to observe Bobby, scanning him for any signs of injury. Thankfully, Bobby seemed relatively unharmed; he moved without any sign of pain, and aside from some obvious sunburns, Buck couldn't see any other significant issues.
Buck exhaled deeply, his shoulders sagging with relief. Bobby was okay.
"Thank God, you are okay," he heard Athena say as she and Bobby began to pull apart. Buck caught Bobby's eye and offered a small wave.
"You called Buck?" Bobby asked, surprised. Like I said on the phone, I'm fine."
"Well, we needed to see it for ourselves. Besides, you know Buck, he would have rushed in guns blazing the moment he found out," Athena responded with a half-smile.
Buck ducked his head, a shy grin flickering across his face, and moved to stand on the other side of Bobby, staying close. Bobby clapped him on the shoulder, then turned to the nurse.
"Fernanda, this is my wife, Athena. She's a cop. And that's Buck, he works with me at the station," Bobby introduced them warmly.
"Oh. You're the one that found him. I'm not sure I have the right words at this moment to say thank you," Athena said, her voice filled with gratitude as she pulled the nurse into a hug.
"You sure you are okay, Cap?" Buck took the moment to ask quietly. "They're just letting you go after days in the desert?"
"I'm still kicking, kid." Bobby reassured, his warmth was noticeable as he pulled Buck into a quick side hug before stepping back.
Buck tried to keep up with the ongoing conversation, but he wasn't exactly following who all these people were, so he remained quietly by Bobby's side. That was until everyone's attention was pulled to the side when a gurney rolled by, carrying a man with a cannula and his face marred by significant scarring.
Buck took a step in front of Bobby on instinct. It didn't take much brain to put together who that was. The eyes of the man on the gurney met Buck's, and he held the intense gaze steadily until the man was wheeled out of sight.
"I'm gonna need a minute." Bobby said and excused himself to follow the gurney into a nearby room.
Buck watched him go, his brow furrowing with concern. He turned to Athena questioningly.
"Is that a good idea?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry, ready to follow after him.
She sighed and placed a comforting arm on his shoulder. "I don't know, Buck. But we have to trust Bobby to know what's best for him."
"Yeah I guess," Buck sighed, not entirely convinced. He wanted to something, anything, to help. He was never good just sitting around and doing nothing.
The silence that had settled over them was broken by Athena's gentle offer. "You want to join us for dinner? I'm sure Bobby will be happy to have you around."
"Uh, no, I cant. Tommy is over," Buck couldn't help but smile at the thought.
Athena raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on her lips. "You left the poor man all alone? You better be making him a nice meal to make it up to him."
Buck's smile widened. He was already planning how he would make it up to Tommy tonight. Whether it included dinner or not, that was yet to be seen
————-
As much as he loved Bobby and Athena, Buck was glad to finally be crossing through the door of his loft.
"Welcome home." Tommy greeted as he looked over his shoulder by the stove. The words hit deep and settled in Buck's heart. God, he loved having Tommy here. If he could, he would keep him here forever, just for the sheer joy of hearing those words leave Tommy's mouth. Shaking off the thought before it took root, Buck crossed the room and wrapped his arms around Tommy from behind, his body molding against him.
"Hi," Buck mumbled into the back of Tommy's shirt, planting a soft kiss on his neck. The warmth of Tommy's body and the familiar scent, washed away all the tension from Buck's shoulders.
"Everything alright?" Tommy inquired, his hands expertly moving a pan across the stove before he turned to face Buck, pulling him closer with a hands settled low on his waist.
"Yeah," Buck smiled and leaned in to capture Tommy's lips in a quick kiss. He felt Tommy smile into the kiss, his hands tightening lightly around Buck. When they parted, Buck glanced over at the stove. "Smells delicious."
"I'm no chef but figured you might be hungry. Can you pass the plates?" Tommy's voice was warm.
Buck nodded and moved to the cupboard, retrieving a couple of plates to hand over to Tommy.
"Have I mentioned that you're the best?" he asked, watching as Tommy piled a generous amount of chicken and rice into the plate and passed it to him.
"Hmm, only like four times today," Tommy responded dryly, a playful smile tugging at his lips as he served himself. He then fetched a couple of glasses and a bottle of wine, that he started keeping in Buck's kitchen. It was a new thing that had started happening recently. Tommy began to bring small things for them to use in the future. The first time Buck found Tommy's hoodie lying in the loft while he was away, it filled him with such happiness that he couldn't help but grin like an idiot. If Maddie had been around, he would never have lived down the comments about him acting like a 14-year-old girl with a crush.
Since then, more of Tommy's belongings had gradually found their way into Buck's space: the toothbrush Tommy used after a wedding stayed in the bathroom, a book he was currently engrossed in had a permanent spot on the nightstand, and a favorite bottle of wine now seemed to permanently reside in Buck's kitchen. Each item felt like a tiny promise that Tommy was going to come back. That they would keep having these moments.
"Well, consider this the fifth. Seriously though, you're a lifesaver."
Tommy's smile grew softer as he poured the wine, handing Buck a glass before filling his own. "I'm glad. Now eat, before it gets cold."
Buck took a bite of the chicken and rice, the flavors bursting pleasantly in his mouth. "This is really good, Tommy. If I knew you could cook, I would have put you to work in the kitchen long ago."
Tommy shrugged modestly, a hint of pride in his smile. "It's just a simple meal, but I'm glad you like it."
Buck was not proud at the speed he gobbled down his dinner. As he scraped the last bits of rice onto his fork, he looked up to see Tommy watching him with an amused expression. "There's more if you want," Tommy gestured towards the pan.
Feeling a blush spread across his cheeks, Buck ducked his head slightly. "I'm full, but, uh, it was really good."
"I can see that," Tommy chuckled, taking another bite of his own meal. After a moment, he added, "Oh by the way, there's a trivia night next Wednesday with the Harbor crew, and we have a spot open. You want to join?"
"As your date?" Buck asked, a tad too eager.
"No, we could use a good ally to boost the team morale," Tommy blurted out, staring at him with deadpan expression. "Yes, Evan. As my date."
"Oh my god, you will never let that live it down," Buck groaned out dramatically. "But yeah! I would love to."
"Great," Tommy said, his expression softening as he reached across the table to take Buck's hand. Buck responded by squeezing it gently, his attention lingering on Tommy as they they chatted about what the trivia night generally entailed. Tommy spoke about his friends and their particular strengths in trivia, but Buck was mostly absorbed by the significance of the event—it would be his first time meeting Tommy's friends outside of the 118 crew Being invited to trivia night felt special. Important. He was getting access to another part of Tommy's life.
As Tommy finished his meal and their glasses emptied, Buck stood up to clear the table.
"I can take care of the dishes," Tommy offered, starting to rise.
Buck shook his head as he began stacking the plates. "No way, you cooked. The least I can do is help clean up."
It was a quick job anyway. Tommy had the tendency to leave the space around him spotless and that extended to the kitchen. Once the dishes were rinsed and left to dry, they retreated back to the bedroom, shedding their clothes and settling under the covers.
Buck sighed contentedly as he leaned into Tommy's side, the familiar glow of the tablet screen illuminating their faces as they resumed their show.
"Thanks, again, for tonight," Buck spoke up after a while, as a comfortable silence enveloped them, punctuated only by the background noise of their show,
"My pleasure, Evan," Tommy replied warmly, pressing a kiss to the top of Buck's head.
