i saw the tv glow (2024) has two essential messages for young trans + queer folks. firstly to find a way to accept who you really are and live authentically no matter the cost because there is still time and secondly to get the FUCK out of the suburbs

What a boring piece of shit.

Sorry, I have no other way to put it, I thought this movie was boring, bland, pretentious, and had the most wrong-headed idea of what Lynchian cinema actually is. Not to get uppity, but this movie tried to be Twin Peaks without understanding what makes that world work so well and be so charismatic and fun to be in.

It's about the characters, and the feel, the relentless presence of humanity. It's about Coop enjoying his morning coffee and his pies, and Andy worrying about Lucy, and Gordon yelling because his hearing aid is malfunctioning. This movie had none of that, just a bunch of cutouts that pretend to be characters while the lighting technician throws more and more pink and purple light on the screen.

Annoyed, bad, bland, boring, boring, boringly boring. Cannot recommend.
