a snippet from the ID: INVADED! MDZS AU
The body at the foot of the steps was dead, blood splatter coating his shirt. His wild black hair was splayed around him in a frightening halo and his eyes and mouth were wide open. It appeared that he had died saying something. Now the man remembered. This body was of Mo Xuanyu's. Seeing him made him remember himself. He was a great detective. The Yiling Patriach. And his job was to solve the mystery of Mo Xuanyu's death.

My Demonic Lullaby
A hero x demon snippet partly inspired by both @the-modern-typewriter and @amethystpath-writes hero and demon snippets. This idea actually predates my sleep paralysis snippet, but I never got around to writing it till their snippets got me back on the hero x demon train 😂 Next part to follow soon hopefully!
Tumblr media
Insomnia really sucked, Ellory decided. He was already *exhausted* from the fight with one of the cities top villains earlier that day. He was aching all over, his head was throbbing, it was already 3am and yet he *still* couldn't fall asleep.
The hero rolled over onto his back with a groan, both from annoyance and the pain of moving. His ribs ached, still, open cuts stung. His hands came up to rub his face and eyes.
"What I wouldn't give to be able to sleep like a normal person," Ellory mumbled under his breath.
He closed his eyes, flipped his pillow for the * fourth* time that night, and thunked his head back down to the bed.
"Seriously," he muttered to the empty air, "what is it going to cost for me to sleep?"
Ellory had asked the question more to himself, as if asking his brain what he had to do to finally get the rest he so desperately craved.
He wasn't expecting an *actual* answer.
"Need some help?" a low and smooth voice asked from what sounded like the corner of the room.
Ellory tried to snap his head in the direction of the voice, only to be unimpressed by the fact he couldn't move.
"*Oh you have GOT to be kidding me*" Ellory mentally groaned, "*I ask to sleep and what do I get? Sleep paralysis, and even a disembodied voice hallucination to go with it!*"
Suddenly the voice chuckled, "Not quite,"
Now, the hero wasn't new to sleep paralysis. He didn't get it often, but every now and then it would creep its way in. This was the first time it had ever happened *before* going to sleep though. It was also the first time he'd ever hallucinated.
Ellory knew that there were others who had crazy hallucinations, even knew one hero who said they got them almost every night. (Even though they gave Ellory a weird look when they said they'd been getting better recently) Luckily for him though, prior to tonight, the worst he'd ever seen was a shadow or two.
His eyes turned, glancing over as best he could to the corner of his room. Despite the darkness, he could see some vaguely human-shaped swirling shadow. The only way he could make it out at all was because it was somehow even *darker* than the shadows around it.
Luckily, the shadow was just kind of standing there, and despite what his other hero friend had said, it didn't look very scary...
The hero mentally sighed again, letting his eyes slip closed. He was *so* tired. Why couldn't he just sleep?!
"That would probably be the insomnia," the voice stated sarcastically.
"*Thank you captain obvious,*" the hero mentally retorted, before stopping, "*great, now I am literally having a conversation with myself. Maybe villain DID hit me in the head too hard today,"*
The disembodied voice snickered again. Though highly amused, it wasn't mocking or unkind.
"No, you're head is fine. But you never answered my question," the shadow-thing said, its vague shape shifting over, more into Ellory's sight.
Whatever hallucination his brain had come up with didn't seem to be going away any time soon.
"*And that was?*" the hero replied. He had nothing better to do than to just amuse... well, himself; he supposed.
"Would you like some help sleeping?"
"*I would LIKE to be asleep already! And real sleeping, not this nonsense,*"
"I can help," the voice offered, seemingly as the shape took a step forward.
"*Oh I'm sure you can*" the hero replied sarcastically, "*If so, then why aren't you?*"
"You need to say yes for us to make a deal,"
Whatever hallucination Ellorys brain had decided to come up with, it certainly picked... an interesting voice. There wasn't anything wrong with the voice itself, in fact, it was quite pleasant to listen to. It sounded slightly masculine, low and gentle, yet not raspy in the slightest, like whatever this illusion was had never had a sore throat in their life. The weird thing, was it sounded confident and in control, but *wasn't*. The hero had been around villains enough to detect when a false bravado was just that; fake.
Especially with nothing else to do but listen, Ellory was able to easily pick up on the slight hesitations, the shaky undertones, and even the way the tones shifted, despite his sleep-deprived state.
Why would his brain come up with such a random yet weirdly detailed hallucination?
Maybe he *had* hit his head more than once.
"*A deal?*" the hero groaned again, "*Just sleep already!*"
"I can ensure you get a good night's rest every night, if you'd like...just tell me; do I have your permission to help you sleep?"
"*Yes! Please!*" Ellory internally cried. He was arguing - no, *begging* - his own hallucination. That's what tonight has devolved to.
"Very well then," the disembodied voice hummed. The last thing the hero remembered was opening his eyes to see the shadow move closer before things went black.
The next thing Ellory knew, he awoke the next morning, feeling shockingly well-rested.
What a weird dream he'd had last night.
The hero moved to get up, before remembering he was injured and braced for the wave of pain... only for nothing to come.
He looked down, lifting up his shirt to examine his abdomen and... what the hell?
What had previously been a sprawling mess of deep slashes, purplish-black bruises and swelling was now nothing more than a few scrapes, small cuts and the occasional tender spot.
Ellory skimmed his fingers across the surface of his skin, baffled.
Had it just looked worse in the dark? That made no sense.
Regardless, he wasn't about to complain, and he didn't have time to dwell on it. Being a hero meant busy days.
Unfortunately, as the week progressed, the strange occurrences only escalated.
While walking down the stairs the following day, Ellory tripped, nearly going head over heels, before something seemed to suddenly catch him, turning him in the air and standing him upright again.
It had happened so fast. Maybe his reaction times were better than he'd thought? Regardless, Ellory just brushed it off.
But then the following day, one of the cities villains threw a knife at him. He would have reacted to it too slowly if the knife hadn't suddenly stopped in the air mere millimetres in front of him before dropping to the ground with a clatter.
Now he was officially a little weirded out.
But the events just kept happening.
Doors were opening in front of him, only to close when he walked through. He'd knocked a glass of water off the counter, only to look down and see it had landed perfectly, not a drop spilt. His mail from the apartment mailboxes had appeared on his kitchen table when he didn't remember going to get it. Lights were flicking on and off when he'd enter or leave a room. One night he'd even realized he felt a bit chilly, only to hear the heater turn on seconds later.
One night, he fell asleep on the couch, only to wake up with a blanket over him he *swore* wasn't there when he fell asleep.
And yet, the hero had also been getting a great rest every night, drifting off almost as soon as his head hit the pillow.
It wasn't until today, however, that Ellory really began to panic.
The hero had been on the rooftop of an office building, with a villain *on top* of him. (These events had really throw Ellory off his game)
This specific villain, however, wasn't particularly nasty, and Ellory had successfully reasoned with them before, and so despite the knife to their throat, they weren't quite panicked yet.
Said knife was still being held a couple inches away from their throat, more of a warning to stay down than an actual threat of "I'm one word away from slitting your windpipe open,"
"You, are becoming an increasing pain in the ass,"
The hero gave a small smile, "trust me, the feeling is mutual, but you know I can't let you do this,-"
He was cut off by the villain thrusting the knife much closer, "I wasn't aware you-"
Suddenly, without warning, the villain was launched back into the air, catapulted off him. Ellory watched them skid across the roof where they landed a couple meters away.
Whatever the villain saw when they looked back up made the colour drain from their face. They immediately pushed themselves up to their feet, staggered back a few steps, eyes wide, before they turned tail and fled.
The hero was frozen.
*What the hell?!*
Ellory looked down at his shaking hands.
*What the hell just happened?!*
Quickly, the hero got to his feet and took off home, completely panicked. He ran as fast as he could, as if something was chasing on his heels, breathing down his neck. It felt like his own shadow wanted to catch him.
*Something was wrong* *Something was really wrong*
As soon as he made it into his apartment, Ellory ran into his bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror.
He looked normal, though slightly red, which was just the consequence of being so out of breath. He was panting, breathing heavily and shaking. His hair was also a mess, a combination of both the frantic running and previous fight.
He could hear the frantic drumming of his heart in his ears.
Ellory took a deep breath, trying to ground himself. Grip tightening on the counter's edge.
Bending down into the sink, he splashed his face with cold water.
He was patting his face dry with a towel when a voice behind him startled him.
"I'm sorry...."
Ellory's head shot up. In the mirror, he could see a dark shadowy figure in the corner of the bathroom behind him.
The hero immediately whirled around, but was greeted by nothing more than an empty bathroom. His eyes wandered around warily, but not a thing seemed out of place.
Great, was he hallucinating now too?
He sighed, relaxing from the scare before turning back to the mirror and-
Ellory froze.
There in the mirror, in the same spot as before, was the shadowy figure.
He glanced back and forth between the mirror and back corner, but the dark humanoid shape was only visible in the reflection.
There was a few moments of silence as the hero simply stared, brain reeling, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
The shape was in constant motion, shadows swirling gently, like a foggy aura surrounding a much darker silhouette. The constant movement made it near impossible for the eye to focus on any one part of it, as if trying to see the individual particles in a stream of smoke.
The silhouette inside the aura was a bit more defined, at least around the head and shoulders. Apart from the clearly humanoid shape, the darker mass had no other identifiable features; except for its eyes, which were like two white voids, with a slightly darker pupil in the center.
Said eyes met Ellory's momentarily, before being cast downwards almost sheepishly.
That's when it clicked. The sheepish posture. This was the same shadowy figure from nearly a week ago.
He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He couldn't think of anything to say.
The figure seemed to take the action to mean he'd had enough time to process.
"I'm sorry for scaring you," they apologized, sounding genuine.
The hero blinked.
*This was really happening*
"What..." the hero managed, barely getting the words out of his mouth. His brain had stalled.
"I was only trying to help," the shadow went on to explain sheepishly.
Something in the hero's stomach seemed to drop, "What... what are you?" He asked nervously.
"I think you know what I am," the demon replied quietly.
Ellory swallowed.
"Why can I only see you in the mirror now when I could see you fine last time?" He asked as if that was the most pressing question at the moment. Perhaps it was the only question he could handle the answer to right now.
"You may want to change your definition of 'fine', you were experiencing sleep paralysis last time,"
Finally, Ellory's brain seemed to catch up, "Why are you here again?"
The shadow in the corner seemed to still slightly, "I'm here because we made a deal,"
Deal...? They didn't make any... wait-
"You tricked me?!"
"Hey!" The demon snapped indignantly, posture suddenly defensive, "Not entirely! I've kept up my end of the deal! You haven't had any trouble sleeping this week have you‽"
Well, no... but...
The hero couldn't help but swallow nervously again, "so then what's *my* end of the deal?"
The shadow's posture instantly deflated again, "just let me hang around, basically..."
Hang around what? His house? Surely not because the demon had been there when he was fighting the villain so clearly-
"You possessed me!?" Ellory realized, eyes widening.
"No!" They replied, sounding almost horrified at the idea, "possession would be taking over control entirely! I'm just... taking up residence in the back corner?"
"What!?"
"Please don't send me back!" The demon pleaded. Their voice was suddenly so *desperate* sounding. The hero could even see the desperation in their white eyes. "I'll do whatever you want I promise! I'll go back into hiding and won't do anything! You won't even know I'm here I swear! I-"
The shadow was full-on rambling now, sounding more and more desperate with every word.
It was probably absurd that his heroic instincts flared, but he couldn't help it! This... being(?) really sounded like they were in trouble. Like they were genuinely scared.
"Hey, hey, it's okay-" Ellory interrupted, holding his hands up and taking a step forward. His heart sank when the figure flinched back, sinking in on itself and pinning its eyes closed as if bracing for something.
When nothing happened after a moment, the demon risked opening their eyes again. Still, they never said anything, just sheepishly stood in the corner as if waiting for a verdict, looking like they wanted nothing more than to hide in their own shadow.
Ellory took a deep breath, surveying the situation. The creature in front of him certainly didn't seem dangerous... and he hadn't tried to hurt the hero at all. Being able to sleep without any problems was also a nice bonus...
"so your... not... going to hurt me or anything?"
The shadow shook its head almost frantically.
"Ok..." Ellory took another deep breath, "As long as you don't hurt me, and don't do anything unless I tell you to, you can stay, okay?"
The demon in the corner immediately perked up, eyes brightening, "r-really?!"
The hero nodded.
"Thank you!" The shadow cheered, and Ellory would swear he could almost see a smile, "Thank you so much! You won't regret it I promise!"
And then just like that, there was a poof of smoke and the demon's reflection vanished, leaving a confused hero that still had a million questions alone in the bathroom.

-------
The next morning
As soon as you dropped Kylie at daycare and Maggie at school, you headed to work. You worked as an executive at an advertising company, so it gave you a lot of freedom to work from home. Really helped the whole "single mom" thing.
But today you had to go into the office for a meeting, and you were dreading it. The one day you could really use to yourself, you had to go and be around people, pretending to be okay. This was going to be hell.
During your meeting, you felt your phone buzzing in your pocket. You immediately went for it, thinking maybe by some miracle Rafael had figured out a solution super fast. But to your horror, it was a text from Billy.
LUNCH?
Oh god. He knew didn't he? He knew everything. There was no way in hell he was getting you alone in your house right now. You quickly texted him back discreetly.
I'M AT THE OFFICE TODAY.
*BUZZ*
THAT'S HALFWAY TO THE CITY. COME ON, I PROMISE I'LL HAVE YOU BACK IN TIME TO PICK UP THE GIRLS.
Was he serious? He wanted you to meet him in the City? Closer to Rafael? What kind of game was he playing? Well, at least you'd be in a public place. He couldn't murder you in front of an audience. And he promised you could pick up the girls, surely he was just going to let you leave after lunch. Right? While you were thinking it over, your phone went off again.
MY TREAT
His treat? Well, that would be a first. Sure he took care of them when they were married, but since their divorce he hadn't offered up a penny more than his legally obligated alimony and child support.
"Miss Y/N, do you have somewhere better to be?" Your boss interrupted your thoughts, you noticed that the whole boardroom was staring at you.
"No sir, sorry sir," You shook your head as you typed a quick OK back to Billy before shoving your phone back into your pocket.
-------
After your meeting you headed to the restaurant address Billy texted you. You sat in your Uber running your fingers nervously through your hair and checking your makeup. Though you really weren’t sure why-- Billy wasn’t the cute harmless man you fell in love with anymore, you had to remember that. No matter how much his smile made your knees weak.
You walked into the restaurant to see Billy already at a table. He smiled and waved at you, you walked towards him and joined him.
“Hey, sweetie,” He went for a hug, but you went for the handshake.
“Hey, Billy,” You nodded as you sat down across from him. “So, what’s up?”
“I just wanted to make sure you were okay,” He kept that hundred watt smile focused on you, you felt yourself blush.
“Okay?” You tried to act nonchalant as you picked up a menu and browsed it.
“Yeah, you know after I found out you were with that animal, Barba,” He picked up his own menu and began to peruse it. You were glad he wasn’t looking at you in that moment because as soon as he called Barba the animal as opposed to himself, your fists clenched.
“Oh? Yeah it was no big deal…” You tried to keep your voice calm.
“So what did he say about me?”
“N-Nothing, I kicked him out as soon as I hung up on you, Billy,” You glanced up at him. You weren’t lying, you did kick him out right after you hung up. And it was the biggest mistake in the world.
“Really?” He looked genuinely surprised, but elated. “You just believed me over him, just like that?”
“Well, of course Billy,” You nodded as you put the menu down. “You’re the father of my children, I’ve known you for almost a decade. I...loved you,” You gulped as you sipped the courtesy water. You didn’t know if it was a great idea to toss that in, but you figured you needed to throw him as far off the scent as you could.
“...Loved?” Billy asked curiously.
Shit. Abort Abort.
“I mean, I’ll always care about you Billy,” You put a hand over his, giving him the sweetest smile you could manage.
“And Barba?” He gripped your hand a little tighter. “Do you love him?”
Shit. Alright, stay calm.
“I thought I might,” You nodded sadly. “Before you told me what a...monster, he is,” You hated even saying the words, but he needed to buy what you were selling.
“Oh, honey,” Billy gave you a sympathetic smile. “You know that’s what I’ve always loved about you. Always so trusting, and loyal...those are really great qualities in a woman,”
“...Thank you?” You sounded offended.
“Gosh,” He chuckled. “You know I am starting to forget why we even broke up,”
Oh God.
“B-Because you were always working, and you thought it would be unfair to keep going like we were going on the kids, and me,” You reminded him.
“I did say that, didn’t I?” He half laughed. “Gosh, you know I think I...I really messed that up,”
“...What?” You nearly choked on your drink.
“I think I made a huge mistake, choosing my...work, over you and the girls,” He gave you a genuinely apologetic smile.
“Oh, Billy you--” You tried to dissuade him, but he wasn't having it.
“No, you know what Y/N having the girls this past summer, it reminded me how much they mean to me. How much you, mean to me,” He took your other hand in his so he was holding them both now.
“But you know what? No more. Screw my job, I’m choosing my family this time,” He gave you the most loving smile and look you’d ever seen on him. You were starting to be even more confused than ever.
“...R-Really?” You blinked in disbelief. “You’d just...give up, your...job, for us?”
“Yes, I would babe,” He nodded, rubbing the back of your palms with his thumbs.
Suddenly, you remembered what kind of “job” he actually had. How could you get out of this? What would make sense? Wait, a thought occurred to you.
“...No,” You removed your hands from his.
“....No?” He repeated, his tone shifting. “What do you mean, no?”
“I mean, I’m not going to let you back into our lives, back into the girl’s lives. Get their hopes up that we can be a happy family again, and then you just take off again when you start itching to get back to work!”
“....Itching?” His nostrils flared. “Is there a reason you used that...specific phrase, Y/N?”
“No, it’s a term, Billy. Look it up,” You were getting more brazen, knowing you had a crowd of eyes around you. He wouldn’t try anything.
“You sure that’s not a certain lawyer talking, sweetheart?” He didn’t let up.
“....How do you know him, anyway Billy?” You suddenly changed the subject.
“Excuse me?” Now it was his turn to blink in disbelief.
“You knew him, when you called me,” You reminded him.
“Well yeah babe, I know he’s a--”
“A monster,” You finished.
“Yeah, I told you--”
“But, how would you know that?” You asked again.
“What?”
“He’s a prosecutor, Billy. You’re a...whatever it is you are,” You crossed your arms. “So how, do you know him?”
“Because….” You saw the wheels turning in Billy’s head. “Because he and the NYPD set me up!”
“They set you up?” You asked curiously.
“Yeah,” He sniffed and rubbed his nose as the waitress came and took your orders. He eyed her nervously as she wrote down your requests and left the table once more.
“You gonna elaborate?”
“Look right before I met you, I was living in the city,” He sighed, starting his story. “And I was on a harmless jog in Central Park, and these tourist girls got spooked and this bitch detective brought me in, started getting her whole squad zoned in on me for some reason, including your man Barba,”
“Just for no reason?” You gave him a look.
“Yes!” He pounded the table, causing some stares. He took a deep breath, and repeated himself. “Yes, babe,”
“Uh huh,” You nodded as the waitress brought your drinks. It was only lunch but you had ordered a martini, you needed it to get through this.
“Look I thought you said you believed me,” Billy’s eyes narrowed. “...Or was that a bunch of bullshit?”
“N-No,” You suddenly sat straight up, remembering you needed to keep up your act.
“I’m just trying to understand the whole situation, baby boy,” You threw your old nickname at him to diffuse the situation.
“Right…” He licked his lips with a smile as the waitress came and sat the food down in front of each of you.
“Anyway, babe they set up this whole thing. They went on a vendetta against me, I swear to God. They-- they started pulling all these records of me from places I lived, trying to pin me to something, anything. And then their Captain…” He stopped and chuckled, but not his normal chuckle. This was more...sinister, darker.
“She just had this...thing, for me,” He smiled as he remembered her, the “Good times” they had. “She begged me to spend this bender weekend with me and when things didn’t go her way, she tried to say I ‘kidnapped’ her, raped her, did all this nasty stuff to her,”
“....Why would she make that up?” You took a bite of your food. He was just spilling all of this information without you even prying, this seemed too easy.
“Because she’s a BITCH, that’s why!” He suddenly yelled again and pounded the table, more people turned to stare this time before he quickly got himself together once more.
“Billy, I’ve never seen you like this,” Your voice shook as you spoke.
“I’m--I’m sorry, Y/N,” He blinked back tears. “They just...they put me through hell,” He began to show you scars on his face and pointed to his ear. “She...when we went on our little bender, she got so hopped on pills and booze that she beat me within an inch of my life,”
Your hand went over your mouth as you saw his injuries for the first time. You put your other hand and traced the scar, tears in your eyes. He couldn’t have just faked those scars, there was no way for him to know you’d start questioning him like you had.
Maybe...maybe he was telling the truth. You had just taken Rafael at his word, and those articles at theirs. Stories could always be spun, and if it made the NYPD look good, that would make the best story, right?
“Billy…” You wiped his cheek with your thumb, tears were spilling down them. “I am so, so sorry…”
“It’s fine,” He sniffed, wiping snot from his nose as he pulled himself together. “I just...I just want to move on,”
“Yeah…” You nodded, patting his cheek gently with a small smile.
“So, will you let me come home?” He asked you with a sad smile.
“I…” You looked down at the table, mulling everything over. You really, really didn’t want to believe Rafael had been the liar here, just covering up for his best friend.
But...Billy seemed genuine, you had known him so much longer than any of them, maybe you knew him better than they did. You knew he was the wrong guy they should have tried to send away, maybe he was just the victim of their dirty captain. But the whole…”job” aspect, you weren’t sure of. You still didn’t know what he did, and why he had been gone all the time. Rafael’s explanation seemed logical.
“...I’ll think about it,” You looked at him with a small smile.
“You’ll think about it?” He quirked an eyebrow.
“Billy, you really hurt me,” You felt tears come to your throat. “You have to know that,”
“I know, babe…” He gave you a sad smile back, taking your hands again. “I get it, I have to earn your trust again,”
“Yes,” You nodded, glad he wasn’t going to press it. He nodded and looked at the table for a moment, then looked up at you with that smile of his.
“...You know, if you want the afternoon off honey, I can pick up the girls,” He offered.
“E-Exucse me?”
“You want to go see Barba, don’t you?” He was now smirking. “You want to verify what I’m saying, right?”
“I...um…”
“Go for it darling, that’s how confident I am you’ll make the right decision,” He encouraged you.
“...Right,” You nodded, downing the rest of your martini. “And if I don’t, you’ll have the girls as leverage,”
“Aww now Y/N…” He kept his smirk, it seemed more evil now when you looked at it. “I won’t need leverage, will I?”
“....No,” You gulped. You didn’t entirely trust him now, but you weren’t about to turn down a chance to see Rafael. Besides, if what he said was true, Billy would never harm the girls.
“Good then, so we’ll see you at home?”
“Sounds good,” You nodded as Billy laid down his card on the check. You got up and headed to the door, dialing Rafael’s number. You remembered that he had said not to contact him first, so you thought you’d do him one better.
-------------
Rafael was in his office putting together his opening argument when you knocked on his office door.
“Come in,” He said nonchalantly, thinking it would be his assistant with a memo.
He glanced up from his desk as the door opened and dropped his pen when he saw you. He blinked a few times, making sure he wasn’t hallucinating as he stood up from his chair and approached you slowly.
“....Y/N? What are you--?”
“Shut up,” You cut him off with your words before catching his lips in yours in a hungry, aggressive kiss.
You didn’t care what Billy had said, or what events led up to right now. You just knew at that moment you needed Rafael. And you took him, no regrets. You two spent several seconds just kissing and drinking each other up, hands roaming all over each other’s bodies.
You’d think you two had been separated for months, not barely 24 hours. But you both had been sure it would be ages, maybe ever before you saw each other again, and like you had said before you’d never been out of each other’s lives for more than a day since the day you met. Fine, maybe you were a little overdramatic.
“What are you doing here, tonta?!” He suddenly broke apart from you and chastised you. “I told you, it’s too--”
“Billy sent me,” You simply said, breathless from the kissing.
“...’Billy’, sent you?” His eyes narrowed. “And why exactly did Billy send you?”
“...We need to talk,” You bit your lip nervously. “But...but I just...I just want us to be us, for a little bit longer,”
“...A little bit longer?” Rafael’s eyebrows furrowed. He didn’t like the sound of that one bit.
“Just...please, Rafa?” You begged him, your doe eyes wet with tears. You knew what you were about to have to do, and you just wanted to be happy for a few more minutes.
“...Bueno,” Rafael sighed, before he grabbed you by your waist and carried you over to his couch, before resuming making out with you like two teenagers.
He didn’t like the sound of where this was going, but he knew he wanted to put it off as long as possible. And he had missed you like crazy, even if it had just been 12 hours. He loved you so much, and so fast, it scared him.
You didn't know what you were going to say to Rafael once his tongue was out of your mouth, but right now you didn't care. You just wanted this to go on forever---
And then there was a knock at the door.

Happy Saiou Day!! 💙💜
So if anyone remembers last summer I said I'd post the complete portraits of my talentswap designs and a climactic scene from the AU with a full summary when they're finished? Well, I didn't forget!
So, below are my headcanons for Ultimate Supreme Leader Shuichi and Ultimate Detective Kokichi~!
(I'm really passionate about this AU, I hope you read it ':3)
(Tho no climactic scene unfortunately)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultimate Supreme Leader Shuichi
So first of all Shuichi's parents are still celebrities, move overseas and leave him with his uncle. However in this AU Shuichi's uncle is a politician who actually has a really good reputation. Problem is, his uncle is incredibly busy and is almost never home because of that. Still, he wants to be like his uncle (though the wish is fueled more with wanting to be good enough and accepted). Shuichi's personality is basically the same.
So then one day I Alligator girl's (Gonna call her Wani) alligator gets stolen by some group who're going to sell it and they threatened Wani to not call the police or tell anyone. So she asks Shuichi to help. Somehow they manage to retrieve the alligator together secretly (idk) and right afterwards one of Wani's friends is in trouble with some shady local business. So Wani suggests they make a group to stop these sorts of people and that Shuichi would be the leader. He agrees, he still wants to do something to make this world a better place like his uncle.
After that Wani starts asking her most trusted friends at school if they'd like to join (Shuichi would never have the social courage to ask someone that). When they get to 10 members (all girls) they stop growing for some time and decide to get themselves uniforms. When they're finally considering getting more people into the team since Shuichi doesn't really know these people, he decides to start wearing a mask to be safe. He also starts using the code name "Crow". The other 10 members go by flower names.
The group then grows a lot. And by the time Shuichi's officially scouted to be an Ultimate, it has around 1500 members. And it's making him very worried as Shuichi's not even sure anymore if he's skilled enough to lead it. The group started out stopping or changing corrupt businessmen, unethical businesses and other evil groups. And although that still is what they do, he's realized that the way they go about things is pretty illegal. (When he first realized this, he started wearing a hat.) Obviously he forbids violence, but they still use blackmail and steal information. Also they need money for the group to function at this point so they've had to get it through illegal means that Shuichi's not sure of anymore. So Shuichi is immensely scared of being revealed as the organization's leader because it would completely destroy his organization and it would also annihilate his uncle's as well as his parents' careers on the spot. Basically everything would get ruined and it would be a nation-wide scandal. Perhaps even an international scandal.
He gets even more worried when the police finally start realizing there's some sort of group that's blackmailing big businesses and start investigating.
When he gets scouted to Hope's Peak, the letter comes to his base and even HPA doesn't know his identity, just that he's a high school student. He doesn't think like he deserves the title at all since it's really his organization that does the hard stuff and Wani's the one that's made it grow and he shouldn't be panicking like this if he really was a "great leader". But he still decides to go due to "If you manage to graduate from Hope's Peak, you will be set for life!". But as his family can't know of him being scouted there as the Ultimate Supreme Leader, he forges a letter claiming he's the Ultimate Lucky Student which he shows to them. And at HPA he requests he be referred to by that title.
Problem is, now his year group has 2 Ultimate Lucky Students and a certain Ultimate Detective gets suspicious.
Miscellaneous: Shuichi really wants to use make-up but he's really afraid to at home since he feels his uncle would think it's really weird. So at the organization's base Wani heard about it and got him some makeup and now Shuichi wears makeup when on missions and at the base. Also the organization has a helicopter. (It's a central part of that climactic scene I talk so much about.) Shuichi thinks about becoming a detective perhaps, but he's not sure how he'd be able to leave his group anymore so...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultimate Detective Kokichi
For Kokichi I still have my pretty elaborate origin story. His early years are great until at some point his real father finds out that Kokichi's mother had actually had the Kokichi and his older twin brother with him and not her husband leaving him alone. And thus he murders Kokichi's mother out of spite. Kokichi and Tamotsu (my headcanon name for his twin) see the murder take place and flee. However, they were never actually able to make out who the murderer was and they knew even less of why their mother was murdered.
The murder never gets solved and this mystery stays in Kokichi's mind. Who ruined his life, who killed his mother?
(I feel they'd have like an uncle and their mother's husband lived with them obviously. There'd also be other factors like disposed evidence and the suspects vanishing making the murder so much harder to figure out afterwards.)
So Kokichi and Tamotsu end up at an orphanage, one related to the one Maki's at. It's kind of a terrible place, but it's where Kokichi meets (most of) Dice. They become inseparable friends (tho don't form a group with the name Dice. I'll still call them that here for clarity's sake though). However Tamotsu who had always been supporting Kokichi and being there for him at his side starts becoming bitter (jealous?) against Kokichi due to dice and starts turning against them. This is the time when Kokichi starts developing his lying to protect himself from Tamotsu as well as the borderline abusive authority at the orphanage. He's also started to figure out the dark secret of the orphanage training children to become assassins.
I feel like during this time a detective was investigating the orphanage. So when things get too dire and Kokichi and Dice escape the orphanage the detective ends up taking them in after finding them on the streets afterwards since he can't just send them to an orphanage at that point. So Kokichi and Dice end up staying with the detective and start helping him out. Kokichi's especially interested in the orphanage now and he and the detective with the help of the other Dice members figure out a lot of stuff. (This is also the time the rest of the Dice members "join".) Until one day the detective gets assassinated by someone from the orphanage sending them a message to stop the investigation.
So Kokichi takes over the Detective's office and to get by he starts working on all kinds of small cases with the help of Dice. And that's what they mostly do. Among those small cases are often cases that have something to do with saving children. However Kokichi occasionally also takes on homicides and investigates organizations. He wants to be prepared for when he finally investigates his mother's murder as well as the organization behind the orphanage. He wants those people locked up in jail forever.
Personality wise Kokichi's pretty much the same. He still loves pranks, lies all the time and would have elaborate stories (lies) about like for example how he was the one who managed to put the previous Queen of Novoselic's assassin behind bars. (The previous Queen was not even assassinated). He'd also jokingly blackmail people by claiming he knows something about them or could figure out something incriminating about them. He never really means it, though he would like try to find out harmless embarrassing secrets to mess with people.
Around the time he gets scouted to Hope's Peak he's specifically requested to assist in the investigation of a mysterious organization that steals information and sends blackmail and other such things. It's a huge flashy case, so of course he picks it up.
At Hope's Peak he then meets an (surprisingly mysterious?) Ultimate lucky student who seems really interested about his Ultimate detective talent and his lying.

The original portraits from summer 2020. My laptop just broke when I finished the lineart and then I couldn't really edit them on my new tablet anymore and they were getting really old so I just decided to completely redo them. Also lmk if you want the sketch of the climactic scene since I'm not sure if I'll finish it even though I really like it. It looks pretty okay even if it's unfinished.
Also hope this is coherent and that I haven't forgotten anything aah. And damn if you actually made it this far gezus. This took like 4+ hours?? oops.

Spotlight: A Life Of A Troubled Celebrity Heartthrob Ch 2
Word Count: 5,483
As usual the party was much bigger than expected. By the end of the night almost everyone was totally wasted.
"Hey Y/L/N! I just wanted to thank you again..you know for-for everything." Sommer shouted into Y/N's ear. She was way beyond drunk at this point. Y/N tried to stay sober after she spotted Colson locking lips with Brinna, the DJ from Rock 93.9 FM. He had totally ignored her all night.
"Don't sweat it. That's what friends are for right." Y/N replied with a tight smile.
"You consider me a friend? After everything I've done to you?" She asked bewildered.
"Yeah. Why not?" She shrugged.
"Awww you're the sweetest." Sommer gushed as she gripped Y/N in a bear hug.
"Sorry to interrupt but I need to borrow Y/N quickly." Ashleigh grabbed Y/N's hand and dragged her to the bedroom.
"What's up?" Y/N asked, breathless.
"What's going on? I just witnessed Colson doing tongue wrestling with Brinna..You saw him too didn't you?" Her face fell.
"Yeah, I did but it's no biggie." Y/N tried to brush it off. "It's not like we're exclusive or anything right?"
"I'm so sorry sweetie. I know it hurts." Ashleigh hugged her and stepped back. "He shouldn't have led you on though. Jerk."
"He didn't promise me anything okay? We just kissed a couple of times so that doesn't mean anything to someone like him." Y/N sank onto the bed and started to strip off her dress.
"Are you calling it a night then?"
"Yep. I can't go out there and put on a brave face anymore. I'd rather stay in my room and have a pity party." She said morosely as she jumped under the covers.
"Okay, call me if you need me. Goodnight." Ashleigh shut the door behind her and as she turned around she saw Colson and Brinna ripping each others clothes off, as he kicked open his bedroom door. Poor Y/N she thought as she went back to the party.
"Hey Ash, where's Y/N?" Baze asked.
"She's got a bit of a headache so she's called it a night." Ashleigh lied.
"Oh I thought maybe it was because of Colson's behavior."
"Why would she care about that?" She said on defense mode.
"Forget it. It doesn't matter." He mumbled as he walked away.
The party was in full swing and most people were having a great time. Sommer and Slim were all over each other as usual and Iann even tried to flirt with Ashleigh. Colson resurfaced an hour later, it looked like he had showered and changed again. Ashleigh was a bit tipsy by now so she decided to confront him. She marched towards him with great determination, not thinking about the consequences that would follow.
Colson was sitting out by the poolside with his friends and there was a random blonde sitting on his lap. This made Ashleigh angrier than what she was before.
"Hey Colson can I have a word?" She stood in front of him, a martini in her hand.
"Hey Ash. I'm kind of busy now..as you can see." He leaned over and sucked the girl's face.
"You're a jerk you know that?!" She said with venom and her voice.
"Tell me something I don't know sweets." He laughed and took a sip of his drink.
"You're a waste of time!" She threw her drink in his face and walked away. Everyone at the table gasped
"What the-??" His face twisted in anger as he stood and went after her.
"Hey how dare you??? Who do you think you are to do that to ME??!" He grabbed her roughly by the arm.
"Ash." She said sweetly.
"What??!" He snapped.
"You asked me who I think I am and I said Ash. That's what you called me remember??"She gave him an angelic smile.
"Don't try and be smart with me or you'll regret it!" He pointed a finger at her and pushed her back forcefully, causing her to stumble back.
"Oh I will.. but probably not as much as Y/N regrets hooking up with you right now." She gritted her teeth.
"She wanted it just as much as I did. Unfortunately I couldn't unpick her lock cos it's too much work. So I had to find a well that's already been dug out. But next time she gives herself to me willingly-she won't leave my room a virgin." He smirked as he walked backwards.
He winked at Ashleigh before turning round and going back to his table. She stood there trembling with anger. How could they have all been so wrong about Colson? Everyone assumed he was a nice enough guy, yes he had a few rough edges here and there but he was a good person wasn't he? It was so easy to believe what you read in the tabloids but this time around they seemed to be right. Colson Baker was a bad boy in every sense of the word.
"Hey Olivia something is about to go down-you and Y/N need to get out of here now!" Baze came and grabbed her by the elbow and made for the fire-escape.
"What's going on?" She asked confused, as they hurried along.
"I'll explain later. Just go somewhere safe for now. Here's some money," He gave her a thick wad of cash, "Go and check into a hotel or something. I'll call you. Keep your phone on." He pushed her towards the stairs.
"Please tell me what's going on??!" She cried. He wasn't making sense and she was scared.
"I will. Promise. I need to go and get Y/N before it's too late so please go!" He turned around and walked back into the penthouse.
"Excuse me Colson but there are police officers in the foyer with a search warrant. What's the way forward?" Jax whispered into Colson's ear.
"What? Are you sure??? Stall them I need to find Y/N and get her out of here." Colson sprang into action. He ran to Y/N's room and fortunately she was wide awake. She was on Facetime with her friends when he barged into her room.
"Hey! We need to get out of here now. The police are on their way up to raid this place so please get dressed fast!" He threw off the covers and dragged her out of bed.
"What? Raiding the place? For what??" She put on her shoes, threw on sweatpants and a sweater quickly.
"No time to explain now okay? I'm going to need you to trust me on this okay?" He held her shoulders and looked at her earnestly.
"Jax is going to drive you to a safe place. I will follow through if I'm not taken in-" He didn't get to finish his statement because police bust into the room and commanded them to raise their hands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quite a number of Colson's friends and friend's friends spent the night in a holding cell. The police found a significant amount of illegal drugs at the condo. It turns out Travis was actually an undercover detective. They had been trying to bust a drug ring so they were interrogating Colson and his friends to try and get a name of their supplier but they were all tight- lipped.
Finally one of them let it slip that Slim knew the name of the link so they let everyone else go. Colson's lawyer, Andre showed up much later before they were released. Y/N in her disheveled state, followed behind, her eyes puffed up from crying all night. Andre had arranged for them to use the back entrance in order to avoid the paparazzi.
"Thanks for taking your time to get here." Colson snapped as he walked towards the waiting SUV. Y/N jumped into the car wordlessly. She had a lot of things to say to Colson but now was not the right time.
"I've been trying to do damage control. The story is all over the media and drug possession is a serious crime in case you didn't know." Andre said with a grave look on his face.
"I didn't have any on me okay?" He countered.
"But all your blood tests contained high volumes of-" Barry tried to say but was cut off as usual.
"I know what the freakin' test said! I don't pay you to be my father okay? So back off!" He yelled, before he jumped into the car.
Y/N was seated at the opposite end and she just glared at him briefly, then continued to stare out the window. Colson ran his fingers through his hair and sighed deeply. He needed to make things right with Y/N but he didn't know where to start. She didn't deserve to be caught up in his mess. She didn't deserve any of this.
"Y/N." He said softly.
"So you know my real name? Hmm.." She folded her arms and stared at him.
"Look I'm not good with apologies..For the longest time I haven't had the need to apologize to any one for anything. It's always the other way round." His blue eyes pierced through her.
"So you're expecting me to-"
"No!No. That's not what I meant." He held up his hands. "I don't know how to say this but-" He moved and sat closer to her and held her hands. "I'm sorry that you got caught up in this mess. This isn't what you signed up for."
"You got that right. I have a good mind to hightail it out of here and catch the next plane back to Ohio." She scowled.
"Please don't do that. At least give me a chance to make it up to you?" He stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. " Please?"
"Why does it matter to you whether I go or stay?" She asked as she pulled away.
"Simply because." He said and she raised an eyebrow.
"Not good enough Baker."
"I like having you around?" He gave her his million dollar smile that caused her heart to melt.
"Fine. I will stay...on one condition.." Her face turned serious.
"Name it." He held his breath.
"I'll need you to keep your distance..just until your figure out what it is that you really want."
"I'm sorry-"
"Let me finish-if that's okay?"
"Sure." He placed his hands on his knees and listened intently.
"You can't keep toying with my feelings. I have them you know? And it hurts when you go hot and cold on me. I know that I'm not even your type and that I was easy but this can't go on. I won't allow it. I came here as your fan and not to be your babysitter so I would really appreciate it if you treated me as such. If you want something more then I would also require something more from you-like fidelity and respect-a real relationship. But I know that is way beyond you and wishful thinking on my part." She said wistfully, her brown eyes clouding with tears.
"Look sweets I'm sorry about the way I treated you but that's just who I am. I like you- a lot. But I can't give you what you want. I don't think I ever could." He said, his voice filled with regret.
"I know. Thanks for being honest." She blinked back tears. He slid over to her and wrapped his arms around her. She put her hands round his waist and laid her head on his chest for what she considered to be the last time.
"You deserve better than me Bambi. I'm no good. I don't want to hurt you so I will try my best to keep away from you. Though I'm not making any promises.." He turned to face her and smiled.
"You're hopeless." She swatted his shoulder and laughed.
"I need to ask you one last thing though?"
"Anything." She looked up at him.
"Will you go with me to the prom? I'm making a guest appearance at a high school prom so.."
"I have a few other options to consider but I think I'll go with you." She teased.
"Gosh! You have just made me the happiest guy Y/F/N Y/L/N." He winked at her and she blushed.
********************************************
Jax had driven them to Colson's other house in a secluded area in Los Angeles. So far the press had no knowledge of his whereabouts so they would be staying there until it was time to leave for Canada on Sunday. Y/N had called Olivia to check on her and the others -they were safely guarded at the penthouse. Baze had tried to call her but she cut the call. She was still angry with him, he could have at least given her a heads up.
"Bambi are you done yet? It's only a high school prom sweets-there's no need to go all out." Colson glanced at his Apple watch again and started to pace the room impatiently. He was dressed in a white shirt, that he had left unbuttoned and a midnight blue designer suit, the latest collection from Giorgio Armani, where he was currently one of the brand ambassadors. His blonde hair was sleeked back and it accentuated his handsome face.
"I'm almost done." Y/N put the finishing touches on her face, examined herself in the mirror and when she was satisfied she left the room.
Her hair was swept to the side and she had donned a sleeveless, glittery midnight-blue gown, with a halter neck, that accentuated her curves and exposed modest cleavage and her back. She had protested to Melissa that she would be a bit overdressed for a prom but to no avail. Byron told her that they would be there briefly and after that she had to accompany Colson to his concert at Madison Square Garden where she would have to change again. This was good publicity. He had assured Y/N that she was good for Colson's image. She was a regular girl that no one knew so they could use that to their advantage. It would prove to the public that Colson Baker was a changed man.
"Wow! You look beautiful." He stared at her as she walked into the sitting room. "It was definitely worth the wait. Shall we?" He held out his arm for her.
"You're looking very handsome but that's nothing new right?" She linked her arm with his as they walked towards the elevator.
"It's nice to hear it if it's coming from a genuine reliable source." He grinned.
Melissa had selected her outfits as usual. The press would be there in and they wanted to portray the best side of Colson. Anything to get their focus off the bad publicity he had received recently. It was hard to believe that they had only been here for two days and there was already so much drama that had happened.
Y/N was not sure if she would go along with this whole plan of being Colson's girlfriend, but Byron said it was pure speculation. He just wanted to lead the press into thinking that but Y/N could not understand how it would help. Byron said he would give her time to think it over and they would discuss it further tomorrow morning.
They arrived at Mira Vista High School's hall just before they were about to crown the prom queen and king. The honor was given to Colson of course and people were falling all over themselves to get a glimpse of him. They had prepared a corner table for him, his guards were surrounding the area and they were not permitting anyone to get close.
"And now ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. It is my utmost pleasure and honor to welcome America's golden boy, every teens rock-idol-please help me welcome to the stage the one, the only superstar of all time: Colson Baker!!!" The MC announced and all the students went wild as Colson stood up and walked to the podium. He pulled Y/N along with him although she tried to resist at first.
"Please." He mouthed over the noise. She nodded her agreement and stood with him.
They could hardly contain their excitement. The girls screamed and the guys hooted.
"Colson, Colson, Colson!" Was resounding all over the school hall causing the walls to vibrate.
"Thank you. Thank you all so much. I love you guys." More screams and "We love you too Colson."
"Well I'd love to sit around and chat a bit-but as the saying goes the show must go on." He spoke into the mic. "So my lovely date over there-and I will announce your homecoming king and queen, then we gotta bust outta here cos we got a concert to go to. Is anyone coming out to Madison Square tonight?? I will be giving out ten free tickets tonight so keep your fingers crossed. But most definitely the king and queen deserve tickets right?"
The crowd roared.
They crowned the prom king and queen, then Colson and Y/N opened up the dance floor. He put his hands round her small waist and she looped hers around his neck. She rested her head on his chest and it felt like home. Like she belonged here, in his arms. He smelt so good and his masculine scent was intoxicating, causing her senses to reel. The DJ was playing Lover by Taylor Swift. Colson started to sing along as he looked at her pointedly.
𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒈𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒐
𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆?
𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒉 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆
𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚, 𝒎𝒚, 𝒎𝒚, 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓
"So I got a private performance..I feel kind of special." She smiled as she put her hand on his chest.
"You are..Thanks for doing this sweets." He whispered into Y/N's ear as they danced, sending shivers down her spine. "I owe you one." He brushed his cheek against her soft one.
"I'll hold you to that." She said softly.
"Baby you can hold me to anything." He laughed and it made him look young and carefree.
"You should do that more often." Y/N said as she smiled back at him. His smile was contagious.
"What laugh? Smile? I know it seems I have everything in that I could possibly want-and don't get me wrong I am grateful but-" He shook his had sadly, " You know what let's not talk about this right now okay?" He kissed her forehead.
"Okay," She touched his cheek lightly.
"Smile." He said as he put his head closer to hers and snapped a photo of them. She pulled out her tongue instead.
"I'm soo going to post this pic." He chuckled as he typed wildly on his iPhone.
"Go right ahead." She swung her hair back and grinned at him.
"Hey sweets..let me sign a few autographs and take a whole lotta selfies, then we can get out of here. I'll be right back-don't move." He led her back to the table and left her seated with Jax.
He made his way back accompanied by his other guards and he melted into the crowd. It was evident that his young fans still loved him by the way they interacted with him. He always grabbed the attention of everyone in a room, people were instantly drawn to him like a moth to a flame. When he was done the guards cleared the way for him as he walked back over to Y/N.
"You're ready to get out of here Bambi?" He put his hand on the small of her back and steered her towards the exit points.
"You look tired?If you're not up for the concert I can get Jax to drop you off at the condo?" He asked with concern.
"What are you kidding me right now?? I wouldn't miss your concert for the world! That's what I'm here for after all!"
"Okay, okay let's go then." He laughed as he entwined their hands.
The press ambushed them as soon as they walked out of the school hall and they were inundated with questions. The body guards pushed them through forcefully and Colson protectively cradled Y/N's head on his chest and she kept it there until they jumped into the limo.
"You're okay?" Colson cupped her face.
"I'm okay Baker. Still in one piece as you can see."
"Good." Silence fell as their eyes burned into each other and the air became electric. Sparks were flying and the attraction was undeniable. They both seemed to wrestle with their feelings but common sense took over.
"I want nothing more than to kiss you right now.." He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbed. "but I can't-I will respect your wishes.' He dropped his hands from her face, as if burned.
She turned her head aside and the moment was lost.
They arrived at Madison Square and as soon as they stepped out of the car Colson was whisked away and she didn't see him again until much later. Melissa led Y/N to the dressing room, where Ashleigh and Sommer were also getting ready and helped them to change into casual outfits.
"Hey stranger!" Ashleigh hugged Y/N as soon as she entered the room.
"Hey you, where have you been?" Sommer hugged her awkwardly.
"Hey..I'm glad you guys are okay." Y/N said as she sat in front of the dresser and allowed Melissa to work her magic. "I couldn't come back to the penthouse because of the press and I had to go to some prom with Colson. We came straight here after."
"So you and Colson..?" Sommer asked.
"No. Nothing like that." Y/N stressed.
"So Travis is a detective.." Ashleigh swayed the topic of discussion, picking up that Y/N was uncomfortable.
"Yeah. Who would have thought huh?" Y/N mused. "Is Slim still-?
"No. They let him go. Insufficient evidence." Sommer tried to make light of it.
"Right girls you're all done . Let's get you to the concert." Melissa announced.
"Yeah! That's what we came for." Ashleigh shouted excitedly.
"Group hug." Sommer said and everyone huddled together and ended up taking photos.
Jax led them to the VIP section where they had a pretty good view of the stage. They were served drinks of their choice and the tables had champagne on ice, tequila and drinks they couldn't even pronounce.
Colson was on stage performing hit after hit and doing what he does best. Sweat was dripping all over his lean body and girls in the audience were about to pass out just by looking at him. He seemed oblivious to all of this as he continued with his performance. One lucky girl was hurled onto the stage and screamed her head off when he started grinding on her.
"This next song is dedicated to all my fans. But especially my ultimate fans that made it through to the competition. I'd like to bring them out to the stage so you can all meet them. C'mon guys." Jax ushered them onto the stage and left them standing next to Colson.
"You guys ready? You all remember the routine right?" He whispered to them and they nodded. "Great. Let's do this." They positioned themselves behind Colson and he started to sing.
He lingered behind Y/N a little longer than necessary and when he decided to kiss her at the end of the song the audience went crazy. It was a spur of the moment thing and he hadn't planned to do it. Y/N blushed furiously and hid her face in his shoulder and he laughed.
"Sorry about that sweets. Blame it on the adrenaline." He whispered in her ear before he walked back to the center of the stage.
"Everybody give it up for my Ultimate Fans!!" He gestured towards them and they took a bow before walking off the stage.
********************************************
The sun blasted through the windows causing Y/N to groan and wince in pain. She couldn't remember when or how she got home last night. Her head was pounding and felt like it belonged to someone else. The room was spinning slightly and it hurt when she opened her eyes. Alcohol was bad. Especially when it was free.
She managed to drag herself out of bed and went to revive herself in the bathroom. After a cold shower she felt a bit better, but her head was still hammering. She downed a few painkillers and made her way to the kitchen and bumped into a half-naked blonde standing by the kitchen sink.
"Hey." She said and scampered off.
Y/N held her temples and took deep breaths. Her heart was being squeezed but she tried to tell herself that it didn't matter. What Colson did or who he did didn't matter. But the more she tried to bury the pain the more evident it became. She steadied herself on the counter and drank a glass of water but the pain manifested its ugly head. She rushed out of the kitchen with tears streaming down her face but what she saw next only caused her more pain.
Colson was standing just outside his bedroom door making out with the mystery blonde. She was clinging onto him like her life depended on it.
"You made my night sweets. Hope I run into you again next time I'm in the neighborhood." He said to her as he gave her a final peck.
"See you around Colson." She crooned and blew him a kiss before descending the stairs.
Y/N stood transfixed on the spot unable to move. Their eyes met and Colson simply winked at her before closing the door in her face. She trudged back to her room and threw herself on the bed. Then she made a decision-she had to go back to the penthouse. There was no way she would stay under the same roof with Colson while he continued to play ping-pong with her fragile heart.
"I can't do this anymore." She said to herself.
With her bag packed she hauled it downstairs and went in pursuit of Jax or any other driver that would take her back to the condo. She found Jax in the kitchen, giving the cook instructions to take breakfast up to her room.
"That won't be necessary Jax." She came up from behind. "I'm going back to the others-at the penthouse."
"Is Colson aware of your intentions?" He quirked his eyebrow as he towered over her.
"Why would he even care?" She lashed out. "Sorry Jax. I shouldn't be-"
"That's quite all right Miss Y/L/N. I know Colson can be a bit too much to handle sometimes." He winked at her, his brown eyes twinkling mischievously.
"Do you wan't to leave now or after brunch?" He lifted her heavy luggage off the floor.
"Now please." She pleaded as she followed him out to the car.
"I'm risking a lot by taking you away without Colson's knowledge. You do know that right?" He looked at her through the rear-view mirror.
"Really? He could have fooled me." She muttered under her breath.
"I know it may seem like he's a bit of a...jerk but he's under a lot of pressure. He doesn't have any real friends, except Slim maybe-but he's good kid. Just be patient with him. He'll come around sooner than later." Jax was fiercely loyal to his boss.
"I'm sorry but I can't play his games anymore. It hurts too much. I just can't." Her voice broke.
"I understand." Jax replied.
"I can't allow my self to get in too deep. I might not make it back out. So it's better this way. I need to keep my distance." She croaked, fighting back tears.
"It's not a question about keeping your distance but about whether you two can stay away from each other." Jax stated.
"We've only known each other for less than two weeks. I'm sure we can manage." She bit her bottom lip and her heart leaped. Even she didn't believe that.
"If you insist." Jax said and began to hum tunelessly to himself.
Y/N sighed and leaned her head back on the seat. She must have dozed off somewhere along the way because next thing she woke up in her room at the penthouse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile somewhere in Los Angeles a grouchy Colson had finally woken up and decided he wanted to take a certain doe-eyed raven beauty to a late lunch. But alas, when he opened her bedroom door he was met by a soft breeze that wafted through billowing curtains.
"Bambi?"He called out from the landing. No response. "Y/N?" He made his way down the stairs and met with Jax who was sitting on a chair in the sitting room.
"She isn't here Colson." He said from behind a newspaper.
"What? Where is she? Where did she go?" He grabbed the newspaper out of Jax's hands and scowled at him.
"No point in taking your frustrations out on me. You should blame yourself." Jax reprimanded him. He was the only one that could do that and get away with it.
"I don't want her to get too attached." He pulled on his hair and sat on the couch.
"You or her?" Jax raised his eyebrow.
"What? Her obviously!" He scoffed.
"Right. If you insist." Jax started to hum tunelessly, as he usually did when he wasn't buying a story.
"Stop that humming. It's working on my nerves." He snapped.
"If you really want to know she's back with the others at the penthouse."
"But the press is crawling all over that place. She should have stayed here. Why did you allow her to leave??" He demanded.
"Because she wanted to leave after seeing you with that blonde-and I can't blame her." Jax grunted. "You should at least show her some respect."
"I promised to keep my hands off her so I needed a distraction." Colson paced the room like a caged animal. He didn't consider how his actions would affect Y/N, he was too self-absorbed for that.
"Your little stunt that you pulled on stage made it to the entertainment page. Evidently.." Jax cleared his throat and straightened the newspaper.
"Let me see that!" Colson took the paper and there it was for all the world to see-him and Y/N, their lips firmly glued together, her fingers buried in his golden locks. His blue orbs closed as if he was savoring the moment, not wanting it to end.
"You got what you wanted." Jax observed.
"I-not exactly..I was just caught up in the moment that's all." He put his hand behind his neck.
"Really Colson? And you aimed straight for Y/N's puckered lips. Interesting." He straightened out the paper and continued to read the article.
"Bryon is going to have a fit." Colson sighed as he leaned back on the couch.
"So since it's official that you and Y/N are an item-officially not unofficially. Then I think it's time to clean up your act." Jax put the paper aside and looked at Colson intently.
"Yeah..for the first time you could be right." He said, thoughtfully weighing his options. "Truth of the matter is I'm a sex-addict Jax. I can't control it. Especially when hot, sexy girls throw themselves all over me.. I can't resist them." He shrugged helplessly.
"What a load of bull manure!" Jax spat out. "I don't believe that crap for one second." He said with distaste.
"It's true man..I have a problem.. a real problem" He expressed with his hands.
"Rubbish." Jax replied. "You need to stop making excuses for your bad behavior Colson. The drugs, the alcohol, treating women like toilet paper, the bad attitude-IT needs to stop. Only you have the power to change it. No one else." Jax said with concern but he knew his sound counsel was falling on deaf ears.
"I need that in order to survive in this industry. You don't understand-forget it." He said with a wave of his hand.
"Actually I do. I'm 33 and I was your age once.. I was once an addict and and alcoholic. My wife took my kids and left me. I hated her for a very long time but now I understand why she did it. It took me a while but I finally cleaned up my act. I did it for my family and most importantly I did it for myself. I needed to get clean and stay clean for me. I just hope you can do the same before it's too late." He stood up and walked out leaving Colson to his thoughts.

FORGETFUL T.D.
Summary: You were maybe a little too forgetful at times, after all these years, Tim still wasn’t used to it.
Warning: Fluff
A/N: This may or may not be based off the fact that I do in fact forget that I do not have 20/20 vision.
Also I’ve finally got back to my laptop after a week and let me tell you did I miss writing 😫 some posts might be delayed, sorry 😭
Word Count: 1.9k
Tumblr media
Tim hated how forgetful you were.
He hated that that you forgot the simplest of things like taking the trash out or emptying the dishwasher. You forgot dates, when you were supposed to meet up with him, and birthdays. Your memory was horrible, you didn't wish for it to be, but you couldn't help it. Forgetting things has been a problem your whole life.
Hell, you would even forget the punchline to the joke that you were telling.
What you lacked in memory, you made up for in fighting. You had been a vigilante for far longer than Tim had. Where he was an amazing detective, you were a lethal weapon. The two of you together was the perfect combination when it came to crime fighting. It was why Batman always set the two of you together.
Bruce Wayne never adopted you as a kid - you had your own great parents. However, after figuring out that Barbra Gordon - a family friend of yours - was Batgirl, you somehow figured out the rest of the gang. Bruce reluctantly agreed to train you. However, he learned pretty quickly just how forgetful you were.
It was frustrating at first. He was the world's greatest detective, a great memory had to be part of the gig. However, he learned to accommodate to you, that was how you got paired up with Tim when he joined the team. The two of you were close, too close to be just friends.
It was only after a few months of constantly working together did the two of you start dating as well. A year after that, the two of you moved in together. That was when Tim really started to realize just how forgetful you really were. As much as it drove him crazy, he also found it too adorable.
Tim got into the habit of leaving sticky notes everywhere for you to remember. You loved to read his little notes - even though they were to remind you to do something that you didn't even want to do in the first place. He always left a little heart at the bottom of it.
Half the time you didn't even have to say anything and Tim was already handing you something that you misplaced. He was your blessing, your savior.
You could be his downfall sometimes. On missions, you forced yourself to go over the plan several times so that it would stick. Thankfully, for the most part you were pretty good at remembering what needed to be done and when. You knew the costs of what would happen if you messed up and made sure that a failed mission was never on you.
That didn't mean you would forget the small things, like restocking weapons and gadgets. There were a few times that you would be out fighting on the streets and run out of batarangs to throw. It would leave you in trouble and someone would have to come give you a hand. Thankfully, it was never a big enough mistake to have someone's life taken.
You and Tim were well into adult hood and had been dating for years. As you got older, the more you realized how much you loved him. It was like everyday there was something new about him that you fell in love with even more.
That week, Tim was already upset with you because you had forgot about the date night that he had planned. You tried your best to make it up to him, but he was still rather upset about it. You had tried every trick in the book - puppy eyes, the pout, doing everything that he asked above and beyond, even treating him with home cooked meals every day. None of it worked.
"Tim," you sighed. He was working at his desk on his laptop, back towards you and no sign of giving you any attention. You stalked towards him, wrapping your arms over his shoulders and placing a bunch of kisses against his cheek. "Tim, I'm sorry. I know this date meant a lot to you, I didn't mean to forget about it."
"I know you didn't," Tim sighed. He turned his head slightly so you could kiss his lips this time. "I know you never mean to forget, it's just... I had a lot planned."
"What can I do to make up for it?" You asked. After trying all week, you were out of ideas. Tim didn't really answer you, so you had taken it upon yourself to sit on his lap so you had all your attention. "Timmy, please."
"Let's get ready for patrol," Tim suggested. He gave you a quick peck on the lips before grabbing you by the legs and carrying you into where you kept your suits. If he was still giving you kisses then he couldn't have been that mad. There was only once that he went three days without so much as a cheek kiss.
Reluctantly, you followed Tim's request to go out on patrol without another plea to get him to forgive you. This wasn't the first time that you had forgotten about a date with him, he was never this upset about it before. It was best not to worry about it while you were out in the city, distractions were never good in Gotham.
You and Tim were perched on a rooftop that overlooked the city. It wasn't until you were up there, did you realize that once again you had forgotten something: your contacts.
Lucky for you, your eyesight wasn't terrible. It was bad enough that you shouldn't drive without your glasses but you could easily make it through a day in your house without them. However protecting Gotham while having to make precise, metric moves? That was something that you shouldn't have forgotten contacts for.
Since Tim was already mad at you for forgetting one thing that week, you decided that it was best not to say anything. You were too far from home to just go grab a pair and you didn't exactly carry any on you - after tonight it was probably a good idea to throw a pair into your belt in case this happened again.
The night was fine at first, you and Tim took down a few thugs with ease. You didn't miss your contacts too much and thankfully whenever you threw a weapon, Tim didn't notice how bad your aim was. It was brutal had many times you missed your target and you were sure that the people you were fighting noticed.
You and Tim were back on the rooftop scouting the city. Tim spotted another crime from down below and pulled out his grappling gun to get there. You had done the same, and aimed it in the same spot that Tim had his. However, without your contacts, you had missed entirely and you were already jumping from the roof.
It took you less than a second to realize that you were free-falling. Lucky for you, it took Tim even less time.
"(Y/N)!" Tim yelled, not caring that he used your real name. Tim had already landed in the spot that he had desired to and thanks to his incredible reflexes, he had managed to shoot his grappling hook back towards you. You were meters from hitting the ground before Tim had snatched you up.
The two of you stood on the ledge, hearts racing from what had just happened. You nearly died, all because you were stupid enough to forget your contacts.
Tim didn't care that you were on the job, he pulled you in for a long, panicked kiss. He swore that you could hear his heart racing through his chest. You had come to a lot of close calls but this was completely different than anything you had gone through. Never had a near death been your own fault.
"What the hell was that?" Tim still held your face in his hands, scared to ever let you go again.
"I, uh," you looked down in shame. It was ridiculous and you didn't want to admit the truth. "I forgot my contacts at home."
Tim's eyes closed and an annoyed breath escaped him. You could only stand there and watch as he walked away from you. Tim frustratingly paced back and forth in front of you with his hands being thrown up in the air. He was pissed at you, it was obvious.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Tim finally spoke again. "This is ridiculous, how did you forget your contacts? Why did you not say anything? You could have died right there! Do you know how heart broken I would have been? How we all would have been? Just because you forgot your contacts! I'm tired of this, (Y/N). This is getting out of hand."
"Red Robin-" You cut yourself. This wasn't the time to use your hero names, not when he was so emotional about this. "Tim. I'm sorry. You were already mad about this week and I didn't want to upset you more. I should have known better, I'm sorry. I've been trying to be better, I really am."
"Fuck, (Y/N)," Tim stalked back to you. He pulled you into a hug, a much needed one. As angry and frustrated as he was, it didn’t mean he didn’t love you and it didn’t mean he wasn’t worried. "I'm just glad you're okay, I love you."
"I love you too," You mumbled into him. "I'm going to make that date up to you, tonight, everything that I've ever done wrong. I just wish you would tell me why you were so upset this time."
Tim pulled just enough away from you that he could look into your masked eyes. The rough texture of his gloves glided against your skin but you didn't mind. "I had big plans for that night."
"What kind of plans?"
"Plans that I wanted to ask you to marry me," Tim revealed with the tiniest of smiles on his lips. He wanted this to be special, you deserved the most grand, meaningful proposal but he knew that you couldn't forgive yourself unless you knew why he was upset. This was why, Tim Drake wanted to make you his wife, and you had simply just forgotten about his plans.
"Tim," You barely whispered, shocked by his news. You crashed into him, kissing him with every ounce of love that you had. Marrying him was always something in the back of your mind, but never this early. Tim grinned into this kiss and pulled you completely flush against his body.
"Will you marry me, (Y/N) (L/N)?" Tim asked. He didn't have the ring, and he wasn't down on one knee. Hell, the two of you weren't even yourself right now - you both were in complete suit with masks on. Yet, with how dysfunctional you both were, this seemed to be more perfect than anything you could have imagined.
"Yes!" You nodded. Tears threatened to spill down your cheeks and you could barely contain the happiness in you. You kissed Tim once more. Tim couldn't wait for the day that he was going to be able to kiss you while calling you his wife.
"Just promise me you won't forget our wedding day."

A Perfect Mess
Tumblr media
This fic is based off chapter thirteen of @matchacakesareforfoxes fic Domesticity: The Random Files
I love their fic and if you haven't already, please go read it and the chapter this fic was inspired by. It was a privilege to write your and I just hope I managed to do it justice @matchacakesareforfoxes
In this fic the reader makes a mess
__________
You had tried to do this before, but you hadn't tried to do so in this place. In speaking about this place, you meant in the warmth and familiarity of his kitchen; whose tiles, corners, and fascinating collection of mugs were almost known by name; of the items which hadn't been given a name, they still had a purpose but weren't as remembered or remarkable. You've cooked other things here, like lunches and dinners, and breakfast on rare occasions, but baking here had been avoided. It hadn't been because Zeta-7s kitchen was lacking. On the contrary, it was a delightful space and he had all manner of ingredients; you weren't in want of possibilities or lacking imagination, but you held a reluctance.
Talent, for a better word, was not what you had when it came to sweets. It wasn't an art like cooking, but a culinary science which you knew Zeta-7 had studied down to the smallest degree. Still, you were going to try. Oh, but trying was different than doing.
You leaned towards an upper shelf for the bottle of good vanilla and found you couldn't reach. If this hadn't been as much of a surprise as you wanted it to be, you would've accepted his assistance. You would've admired the outstretched arm which would've found no challenge in grabbing the amber bottle; filled with the essence which forever permeated a few of his favorite sweaters and at times was detected on his skin. Yet, those were sentiments which could flourish on another occasion, because you were going to do this on your own.
____________
Perhaps you should've prayed instead.
The song McArthur Park came to mind when you stepped on the eggshells which missed the trash can. When the baking soda spilled all over the counter you couldn't recall, and you realized you were dusted with flour as though you had applied it like an after shower perfume; you thought maybe you should've quit. Yet, despite losing the recipe you had pinned on Pinterest and the ungodly amount of sugar which had been used, the batter was mixed together and placed in the oven. Great, that was done but now there was the mess. Oh man, where to begin.
Glancing at yourself, you thought maybe you should change, but you'd have to swing by your house to do so. Decisions, decisions; it just felt like too much work. During the span of time when you had wondered as to what you should do, the scent of burning passed your nose. That part though was simple to figure out; the oven was on fire. Wait……the Oven was ON FIRE?!
“RICK!”
Wherever he had been in the house hadn't mattered, for not only did he rush in, but his three robot clones had as well. If you hadn't been so panicked, you might've wondered why they hadn't joined in past cuddle sessions. Zeta-7 wasted no time when he scooped you up in his arms while clones one and two extinguished the fire. "Are y-y-you okay?"
"I'm um… I'm fine, but I'm not sure about the oven."
Clone three removed the burned contents of what would've been cookies, and determined that nothing had been damaged, but it would take a while to clean. Seeing that his robots had it under control, Zeta-7 eased you down onto the couch not caring if you would leave a mess and inspected you until he was satisfied that you hadn't injured yourself. "Ricky, I told you I was fine."
"Y-you're right, I'm s-sorry."
"No," you sighed; disheartened but all the more so embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I can't believe this all happened. I should've asked where the fire extinguisher was first. That, or bought some baking skills at Bed Bath and Beyond. I'm pretty sure you can find it in the abyss of the Beyond section."
Now that death was not imminent, you were a jumbled mess and just babbled as though it would make things better or possibly make sense. Zeta-7 for his part studied you, and the more he did, the more you wished you could crawl under a rock. You deserved to be yelled at, scolded, or anything where you would be punished for daring to believe you could keep up with this man skills. And when he opened his mouth to speak, you thought you were in for it, but instead, he laughed; the kind which spoke of his relief; you hadn't quite expected that reaction. You were partly confused, partly annoyed that he hadn't been upset when he should've been, but your pouting only encouraged his amusement; his laughter filling the house with this happy noise.
When he was like this, you couldn't stand how much you loved him; how you were won over, and enamored by the radiance he exuded easily; all the lines around his eyes and mouth prominent but reassuring of his happiness. Soon enough, having watched Rick collapse over himself with mirth, inspired giggles of your own to bubble forth. It would be a few minutes when either of you was rational; at least enough to explain what had transpired a half-hour before.
You wanted to bake cookies and surprise Rick while he was working. That was it; just bake cookies then surprise Rick with said cookies; possibly earn a few brownie points; any points for that matter, but no, the Baking Gods were against such aspirations for you evidently. Rick for his part, placed his hands lightly on your shoulders and gave them a squeeze, leaning over enough so you both would be eye to eye. “I don't think any Gods had a hand in this, I think y-your power is just too great for baking cookies.”
You tried not to, but you couldn't help it and began another fit of laughter with Rick not far behind. "I don't think I have any powers worth mentioning, but they are weak against chocolate. As well as other things."
The laugh which had been ready to escape him seemed to die as he took a glance at your lips, then away as though whatever thought sprang up in his head wasn't worth elaborating further. You really wished he would've because then you could've elaborated on a thought of your own.
__________
When you two had found your composure, you set about cleaning up the kitchen together; hopefully, it would be easier now that you had gotten the taste of pyromania out of your system. “Rick, you don't have to stay here. I can clean it up on my own.”
Zeta-7 wouldn't hear of it and simply smiled. "It's okay. Besides, it's no fun cleaning up th-the dishes by yourself.”
You blew a raspberry at him, petulant. "Are you sure? Or is spontaneous combustion also a worry for you?"
"N-no not at all."
“You just don't want me to be in here by myself anymore, huh?” you teased; flashing him a wink.
Confusion; the silent inquisition which occurred when you danced in between the barrier of enigmatic and odd. The questions which he had never came up, for the confusion melted into something like a smirk as he flicked some suds on your nose with the dish sponge. With mock surprise, you grabbed a spoon from the soapy water and placed it under the faucet; effectively splashing him and also yourself. "That did not go as I planned it."
Rick shook his head at you, but instead of responding he dipped his hands in the water and splashed you with more soapy dishwater; you responding in like kind; splashing each other and getting water all over the floor and yourselves; completely soaked in a matter of minutes. You didn't want to know how much worse you must've looked. However, when you calmed a little from your hysterics, you realized he had stopped laughing; lost to his ruminations. You wondered if you had pushed him too far, or if he was upset about the wet floor, but what followed was not what you had expected.
He was staring at you past his drenched bangs, his electric blues immovable in their intensity; this in itself was not uncommon, but it gave him this otherworldly quality; as though they would glow in the dark if the lights went out. The front of his sweater clung to him; the outline of his lean muscles impossible to ignore. You felt warmth in your cheeks; warmer yet when the hand which had been holding a sponge earlier, came up to cup your cheek and an arm was slipped about your waist. "Rick, I'm a mess. You don't…you wouldn't want to..."
"Gosh, y-you're so beautiful." he interrupted.
"What? No," you retorted, trying to pull away from his grasp as though you didn't deserve it. "not like this. I'm a mess and the dishes still need to be washed. If anything, I'm a disaster."
Tucking a lock of your hair behind your ear, he softened. "Y-you're not a disaster."
"Yes, I am. I disrupted your work, almost burned down the house and dirtied your cute sweater."
"Gosh, it was only a-a happy accident."
"In what way?" you wondered.
"I-I got to see you. I don't know when I-I would've stepped out of the garage. Possibly whenever I finished working on my latest invention, but I should've been here instead. We could've baked together."
"I didn't want to bother you. You had your welding helmet on and all those processor chips. I wasn't sure if you were making a computer or a doomsday device, but you were busy. I know how important your work is to you."
"It is important but not as important as you. I'm sorry about that. I - an idea had struck me and I was dying t-t-to get started, but it seems I wouldn't have been able t-t-to get that far anyway since I didn't have all the parts required. This means I-I did have time."
"I didn't know. I just wanted to make you happy with a sweet surprise."
"Gee, I'm happy having you here. That alone is enough. I got t-t-to see a whole new side to you that I haven't seen before. I don't - I'm not talking about the way you're dressed, but unlike those other times we've cooked together, I feel as though I saw the real you. You don't - I know how you feel when it comes t-t-to baking and how frustrating you find it, but finding you there amongst that mess, wearing an apron that's a-a little too big for you and the flour on your cheeks, why it was…"
"A mess." you frowned.
"An adorable mess; a beautiful mess; a-a perfect mess."
"Dear, I don't think those words go together."
"I guess they don't, but I meant it when I said I was glad t-t-to see you're alright, and here all in one piece. That's all I could ask for. I thought an intruder had managed t-to get into the house, or that one of the security bots had malfunctioned, which was why I unleashed my robot clones, but seeing that it was simply a-a cooking accident was the best thing I could've seen because it meant that I-I hadn't lost you."
The hand which had cupped your cheek slipped itself into your hair and smoothed it down, gently, and with purpose. The seriousness which you had seen in his eyes earlier had returned, and the arm around your waist tightened. "Rick," you softened. "it'll take more than burned cookies to take me away from you."
"Really?" he brightened.
"Of course."
Looking at you, in that funny, darling way as he did from time to time, he pressed a kiss upon your temple and lingered there; finding comfort in the closeness. You rubbed his back, and told him it was okay; that you were okay and that he didn't need to worry. Though, in reality, you realized that you needed to be more diligent next time you decided to bake. However, knowing that he had your back if you put yourself in danger again was comforting in its own right.
And when it seemed that he had been comforted enough, he pulled away a little, only to return with an unknown confidence and captured your mouth in a soft kiss; his insistence winning you over, and made you forget what it was either of you was supposed to do; all there being was you, him, and the fading world. Entranced, you seemed to mold into him, and melted with every second that passed. If you hadn't needed to breathe, there wouldn't have been any force in this universe that could've made you two part. Yet, part you would, and when he pulled away, you wondered. "What about the dishes?"
Whether he was aware of it or it was done unconsciously Zeta-7 chased after your retreating mouth. With cheeks aflame, he answered before kissing you again. "The dishes can ugh - can wait."

but everyone closer is busy. So Sonny the knight is my request! I thought about the fact he could discovered some tattoos on her, he would maybe take care of her (painkiller…) you could use whatever you want in all this! hope you gonna like it!
Tumblr media
Sweetie!! I hope you like this and I’m sorry it took so long to get it done. And I’m sure ya’ll can tell I love Disney :)
warnings: unbeta’d
“Finally!” You say to your coworker as you clock out of your shift from the restaurant.
“I hear ya y/n! What a day huh?!” She says.
You head out waving bye to your friends. You can’t wait til you get home and relax. This day had you all over the place. From running hot plates out to hungry customers to having bacon and eggs thrown in your hair from rambunctious toddlers. Your shift ends pretty early as you are part of the morning crew. Taking your usual route home and listening to your iPod on the way , you find yourself still picking food out of your hair.
I’m gonna need a good shower. You think to yourself.
Walking into your building you see your neighbor from across the hall at his mailbox.
“Fancy seeing you here detective!” You say with a smile on your face.
He turns and smiles. “Hey y/n! Seems you are wearing your breakfast.”
“Oh!” You chuckle, “Yea some kiddo thought it was the funniest thing in the world to see his breakfast land on me.”
“Oh I would have given good money to see that.” He laughed.
You swat his shoulder. “Then you sir would have gotten a bacon to the eye.” You wink at him.
“Walk you up?” He asks.
“Yea?! You actually have a day off from being a literal superhero?” You ask.
You and sonny had become instant friends when you moved in across the hall from him. He had already lived there a year when you first moved in a year ago. Light conversations here and there at the mailbox and him helping you bring up your groceries turned into cooking classes with Sonny teaching you a thing or two on how “Ma makes it perfect”, to just hanging out singing along to music or reciting movies while he painted your toe nails in the middle of the night because he couldn’t leave you alone after something he’d seen on a case. You had keys to each other’s apartments “ya know just in case” he’d say.
“Wanna hang out and watch a movie later? Moana is on Netflix!” He wiggles his eyebrows.
“Uhhhh is that even a question that needs an answer Carisi?” You ask. You loved that he loved Disney movies as much as you did and wasn’t afraid to sing along with you.
He laughed.
“I need to get a good shower and get this buffet outta my hair then I’ll be over.”
“Alright. Don’t you bail on me ok,I know where you live.”
You roll your eyes and head into your apartment. You gather your clothes, you decided on a tshirt and shorts. You liked being comfortable and Sonny didn’t care if you just rolled out bed and came over just as long as you came over. You both loved being in each other’s company.
You put your phone on the space beside the sink along with your clothes and towel. You put on some music cause it always relaxes you even in the shower. You rinse  yourself off and begin to wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner. You grabbed your body wash and dropped it, you didn’t notice when you picked it up that soap had dropped out onto the shower floor. In a mini dance move you step in the soap, slip, grabbing the curtain with you on the way down! You had some how wrapped yourself in the curtain. Pain is radiating from your left hip, you hit it on the side of the tub on your way down. Your left arm feels bruised and was beginning to swell. You take your good hand and reached up to grab your phone trying to figure out who to call to come help you! You could call Sonny, this would go down as your most embarrassing moment if he found you like this, you debated calling and canceling with him. . You called a couple friends but both rings found you in their voicemails. You sighed and sucked it up. You needed help and Sonny was home. You couldn’t put too much weight  on your leg long enough to get you to your room without feeling pain jump from your hip to your arm you landed on it in an attempt to break your fall.
You dialed him with your good hand. He picked up after two rings.
“Hey!,” he answers, you could always hear the smile in his voice. “I was beginning to think you weren’t gonna come.”
You sucked in a breath from the pain.
“Sonny, I need your help, I fell outta the shower and I can’t get up.”
“Whoa whoa ok, I’ll be right there.”
The speed at which he got into your apartment impressed you.
He called out you.
“I told you where I was, you cannoli!” You yelled. The pain was making you irritable.
“Wow! Well aren’t you a sight,” he chuckled as he got to your side. He looked you over and could see your ankle swollen and arm beginning to bruise.
“Yea, we’re gonna have to get you to the hospital, get it all checked out.”
You whimpered in pain.
He grabbed the towel, and began to unwrap you from the shower curtain.
“Uhh close your eyes while we do this please.” You weren’t asking.
“Hey who’s the one changed you that Night you got drunk and passed out huh?” A sly smile spread across face.
“You promised not to bring that up again!” You said in disbelief.
As he finished helping you out of the plastic you try your best to cover up. You didn’t cover much and he saw a tattoo on your right hip. It was mermaid scales that broke back off into skin then more scales on your outer  thigh in an aqua blue color.
“That’s new, I don’t remember seeing that the other night.” He says looking at it up and down.
“Yea I just got it, always wanted to do it so I just did!”
“It suits you. Passionate, intense, not of this world but from one of Magic and you’re beautiful.” He says as he blushes. “At least that’s what I read about them.”
Your blush matches his as you finished letting him help you dress. He scoops you up in his arms.
“Come on, let’s go.”
You got to the ER, Sonny carries you out of the car and into the hospital.
“Can I get some help here?” He shouted.
A nurse came up to you both with a wheelchair, he set you in it. You winced at the pain from your hip, you could feel up along your side.
“Hey you ok?” He asked.
“Yea it’s just starting to hurt really bad.”
Sonny turns to the nurse who’s wheeling you back to get vitals “can you give her something for the pain?”
“Let’s get vitals first and we’ll go from there.” She said. “Are you family? I’m gonna have to ask you to step out sir.”
“No, it’s ok. He can stay. He’s my friend, I want him here.” You say.
“Okay. So tell me what happened?” She asked as she started to take your blood pressure, temperature, weight and medical history.
You held sonny’s hand trying to focus on the questions and his hand to distract from the pain.
“I slipped and fell in the shower. It’s silly, I was dancing and boom next thing I knew I was on the ground. He’s my neighbor so I called him for help.” You tell the nurse.
“The doctor is gonna want X-rays. So that’s your next stop.” She says as she hands you some pain meds and a cup of water.
Sonny pushed you following the nurse to your room. When the nurse wasn’t looking he would spin you in circles and letting the nurse walk ahead a few steps so he could run with you. The nurse turned when she heard you giggling.
“I’m gonna have to ask you to not do that sir.” She said.
You look at each other and mouth “Sir” to each other and snickering.
When you reached your destination, she sat you on the table. “The tech will be here in a few minutes to take get the X-rays, change into this,” he says, handing you a gown.
Sonny helped you get into the gown. He is always a perfect gentleman, you were glad you called him. He was very attentive, trying to make sure you were comfortable.
The tech for the X-rays knocked and came in. “Hi I’m Richard and I’m going to be taking pictures today.” He smiled and you smiled back. Putting you back in the wheelchair, Sonny followed Richard to the radiology department.
You’re very self conscious about yourself, so you were getting shy about being in front of them in your gown. Then you hear Sonny.
“Ok can I just say something crazy?” He sings.
You smile and respond, “ I love crazy!”
He started singing Ana’s part in the song and you smiled as you relaxed.
“All my life has been a series of doors in my face and then suddenly I bump into you!”
“I was thinking the same thing, because like I’ve been searching my whole life to find my own place and maybe it the party talking or the chocolate fondue”
Together you sing “ but with yoooooou!”
“You did great!”
“You two are adorable, never have that much fun doing this.” Richard says. “Ok let’s get you back to your room and as soon as these are reviewed the doctor will be in to talk with you.
“Thanks again man.” Sonny shakes his hand and heads out to find your room, again spinning you around in the chair.
Waiting in the room Sonny began to go through drawers, he found some gloves and put them on.
“Are you ready for your exam Ms. Y/L/N?”
You couldn’t help but laugh.
“Well doctor you see I have this irritation, it’s about 6 ft tall, all arms and legs, it’s kinda cute, I call him sonny.” You smirk.
“Ouch doll.” He says as he grips his chest. “You love me especially when I annoy you.”
“It’s a curse.” you chuckled and he laughed.
The doctor came into the room after what seemed like a couple of hours.
“Hello Ms. y/l/n.” He comes in and begins his exam, “how are you felling?”
“Feels a lot better after getting some pain meds.”
“That’s good. Well it’s seems you have a hairline fracture to your forearm and your hip is gonna be bruised for a couple of weeks. You took a big spill. You said you didn’t remember hitting your head so just as a precaution you’ll need to watch for a couple of things.”
“What do I need to look for doc?” Sonny asked, very concerned.
“That she stays awake for at least 2 more hours, keep an eye out for vomiting, headaches, and if she becomes disoriented or confused. If any of this occurs you’ll need to bring her back in.”
“Gotcha doc, I won’t let her out of my sight tonight.”
“Good, here’s a prescription for pain medication, and you’ll need to follow up with an orthopedic to make sure the fracture is healing correctly. You both are good to go after the fit you for the cast.”
“Thank you doctor.” You say as you smile at him and he pats your shoulder.
You get back to your apartment from the ER and he takes you into your room. He sets you on the bed and makes you as comfortable as possible. Pillow under your leg and behind you, so you’re  sitting up. He picked up Chinese on your way back. Grabbing the food and setting everything on a tray along with your pain meds.
Sitting next to on your bed he turns the tv on and switching it to Netflix, putting on Moana. You smile.
“You still owe me a movie night.” He says. “And I’m staying over tonight to make sure you’re ok, doc said to make sure you’re awake at least another hour and half.”
“But mooooom,” you whine playfully.
“Yea laugh it up now, you’ll thank me in the morning. I already set up the couch so I can sleep there.
“Don’t be silly, we both fit here, you can sleep in here if you want.” You offer.
“I don’t want to be a bother or hit you in my sleep.”
“Sonny! You a never a bother! You’re my knight in sonny armor! And it’ll be a slumber party!” You say with big smile. “You need to make sure my wrist cast matches my toe nails.”
He laughed. “Ok, eat up so you can take your pain medication and we’ll really have some fun.
Singing along to “You’re welcome” while he colors your cast, he draws a cartoon version of himself complete with badge and he has a bubble over his head that says “get better” and this is the highlight of your week but you would never trade it for anything.
By night’s end you were falling asleep on his shoulder and he adjusted so your head sat perfectly on his shoulder and your body clicking against his like puzzle. You sighed in content in your sleep. Sonny heard and thought to himself.
I must doing something right
He smiled and fell asleep with you.
