Sometimes shonen does this thing where they'll have this cast of teenage boys and constantly make jokes/allusions to all of them crushing on the girl of the week or generally being sort of useless and kind of gross about them. But the show will choose one guy. This one guy is depicted by the writers as completely immune to all such gags. He will not react to them or participate in any. Not that he shows annoyance or consternation about his friend's actions, like the female characters might, but that he doesn't seem to notice they're happening at all. His interactions with the female cast will be minimal and his treatment of them will be amicable or stone-faced but entirely platonic. He shows no romantic interest, if he even acknowledges romance exists. The gross horny jokes will happen around him and to everyone else but simply bounce off like there's a forcefield around him. He's not involved. Exempted by narrative fiat.

You generally get the sense that the creators did this either because they thought it would be an indignity, or to elevate him above the rest of the cast as a gentleman, or that they're saving him for his One True Love Interest™; however the invariable sense the astute viewer gets is that this guy is definitely, definitely not interested in women.

The more I have to write about a person on here, the more something in me is without ease. I never write about Behboud, but not because there isn't things to say! it's just, I talk to him about it. And I gush about my feelings for him mostly in my diary, which I also use much more seldom these days... because I talk to him so much. because I feel so comfortable and understood. No need for a place to brood about my feelings until I understand or am freed of them. I am just living my life with him :-)

The boy pushed his hands into his pockets, resting his back easily against the wall. He looked good in the three-piece-suit they managed to get for him last minute – the navy blue looking nicely with his blue-gray eyes and dark messy hair that curled slightly by his nape – and Dick couldn’t stop glancing at him.

That’s why Dick noticed the moment he eyed the waiter offering guests champagne. He glanced in Dick’s direction and when noticed him looking, quickly turned away with a blush.

“I can get you some apple juice if you’re thirsty, junior.” Dick grinned, nudging him with an elbow.

“I was just looking.” The boy insisted with an unhappy twist of his lips. “Besides, I’m seventeen, not five! I could have a few sips.”

“Suuure.” He drawled. “But you won’t.”

Jaden rolled his eyes, crossing arms across his chest. “Pops would let me.” He grumbled.

“Well, you can ask him when you see him.” Dick teased with a smile, making the boy frown even more, even as his eyes gleamed with amusement.

A week ago a portal to an alternate dimension opened up in Dick’s kitchen to spat out Jaden, a seventeen years old boy, who was Dick’s son in another world. Even after those seven days spent together, Dick couldn’t quite get used to the sight of him or even to the thought that somewhere there he managed to lead a life where he got a family. A real, happy family.

There was something ugly like jealousy burning in his chest whenever he thought about it too hard but… he was happy for the other him, he really was. Jaden was a great kid and he was clearly a Grayson, never able to sit still for too long and always more than ready to climb trees, walls and chandeliers.

They weren’t able to send Jaden back to his world right away – they had to wait for the right time for the portal to open again and Bruce’s calculation said that day was another week from now. So until then, Jaden lived with Dick.

And… Dick knew that Jaden wasn’t really his but he was his son, son of some version of him and he wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. So right now, they were at Bruce's gala because Dick was forced to attend and Jaden wanted to go with him.

Suddenly the boy perked up and when Dick looked at him again, his lips were stretched in a smile and his blue-gray eyes gleamed as he stared at the crowd before them.

“Hey, da-aaaring.” He started, quickly trying to save up the slip with a wince.

Dick burst out laughing, not able to stop himself, “That’s even worse!” He cackled, making Jaden laugh as well.

He was okay with Jaden calling him dad – and if warmth spread over his chest every time it happened, it was no one’s business but his own – but they couldn’t really do that while in public. The press would eat him up – Dick Grayson in his early thirties, having a seventeen years old son?

Yeah, no, thanks.

When they finally calmed down, Jaden nudged him with his elbow, the same way Dick had done to him a moment earlier. “Alright, that was awful. Sorry.” He chuckled.

“I appreciate the effort.” Dick reached out to ruffle his hair with a grin and Jaden let him do it with an answering smile. “What was that?”

“I was going to say,” Jaden slipped his hands back into his pockets, voice a happy smug hum. “that that guy right there looks like he’d be a good dance partner for you.”

“Oh come on. You’re the best dance partner I could ask for.” Dick teased but he turned to look at the man Jaden was pointing to. “Which one do you-”

Deathstroke.

Slade Wilson was standing on the other side of the ballroom, dressed in a dark suit that hugged his muscled arms. His hair was pulled into a neat ponytail against his nape and he was busy talking to one of the ladies but Dick had no doubt the man was well aware of Dick’s presence not far away.

Dick was able to feel his heart in his throat. Slade being here meant trouble, more often than not it meant death or at least an attempt at it and Dick couldn’t let Jaden get dragged into this. Yes, Jade knew about him being Nightwing – both in this and his own world – but it wasn’t the same, Slade was… Dick couldn’t let him get close to Jaden.

But then Jaden nudged him again, saying, “The one over there, with white hair and eyepatch.”

Dick wheezed, “You can’t be-”

“I’m gonna go say hello.” He smiled and before Dick could blink, the boy was already weaving through the sea of guests and towards fucking Deathstroke the Terminator.

“Jaden, wait-!” He tried calling but Jaden just waved him off and in a next second he disappeared behind some man, his little body slipping through the crowd with no problem.

What was between Dick and Slade was… complicated, to say the least. Slade didn’t try to kill him anymore and they were somewhat of friends but... some time ago Slade had a contract in Bludhaven. Somewhere during the fight Dick got pinned to the ground on one of the Blud’s rooftops, Slade leaning over him with a sneer of his lips and. They kissed.

And maybe it would be fine, if it was just a kiss. But it grew heated very quickly and Dick would let Slade fuck him right then and there if Jason didn’t chime in his comms to say he got the alert for Dick’s vitals going crazy and he was on his way to his location.

Then, the next time Dick saw Slade was in New York, when Dick managed to ruin his contract. Not delay the inevitable but actually, completely ruin the contract.

The one Slade would get paid over a million dollars for.

Dick rushed forward, doing his best not to look too terrified nor bring any unnecessary attention to himself but people were in his way, blocking him and making him waste precious seconds and by the time he pushed his way through, Jaden was already a few steps away from Slade.

Slade noticed Jaden coming his way, of course, and said something to the lady who nodded with a smile and walked away. Dick tried to get to the boy before Jaden got to Slade but he couldn’t just run through the ballroom like crazy so he was forced to just look as Jaden stopped right before Slade and smiled up at him.

“Hey there, old man.” He basically beamed at the mercenary.

Slade cocked an eyebrow that but his lips curled into a smirk. “Hello.” He said pleasantly. “Can I help you?”

After ruining Slade’s contract in New York, Dick had three broken ribs, dislocated shoulder, so many cuts across his body that required stitches that Dick wasn’t able to count them all and bruises in shapes of hands wrapped around his throat that took weeks to fully heal.

“You can, actually!” Jaden laced his fingers behind his back, leaning a bit closer to Slade with that happy smile. “I was wondering if you’d let me have some of the champagne.”

Slade barked out a laugh at that, visibly not expecting something like this. His shoulders shook as he laughed, the corners of his eyes wrinkling just slightly and Jaden’s smile widened even more as he watched it happen.

He looked over his shoulder at Dick to show him a thumb-up with excited open-mouthed smile and shining eyes and Dick was going to ground him for so long-

“Of course.” Slade grinned. “Wayne always serves the best liquor, it would be a shame if you didn’t at least try it.”

He glanced in Dick’s direction for an exact second but it was enough for Dick to notice and then he grabbed two flute’s from the waiter passing them. Slade handed the champagne to Jaden, who took the first sip just as Dick stopped by their side.

“Slade.” Dick greeted, throat clenched as if there was an invisible hand wrapped around it.

“Grayson.” Slade raised his flute in mock cheers. He looked Dick over slowly, his gaze a physical weight on his body as if he tried to see right through the material. Jaden turned his head away, taking another sip of champagne with a hum. “You look good, little bird.”

Dick was grateful he wasn’t holding a glass himself because otherwise it would surely shatter in his grip.

“I know.” He forced the words through his lips, making the corners of Slade’s lips twitch up. “Jay-”

“You can’t say I’m in trouble.” Jaden said quickly, pointing his finger at Dick. “You said I can ask him, I did, he let me have some champagne. I just did what you told me to.”

Dick blinked. What-

“No. No, I said to ask your-” …father. They were joking about Jaden asking his other dad if he could get a drink and then he suddenly rushed over to Slade as if he didn’t know who Deathstroke the Terminator… was…

It was like all the air got punched out of Dick’s lungs.

Because Deathstroke the fucking Terminator was Jaden’s second father.

“You can’t be serious.” He breathed out. “He’s-”

“Yep!” Jaden grinned, popping the ‘p’. “Now, I think you two should dance. What do you say, old man?” He asked, glancing at Slade.

Slade shook his head with a laugh huffed out through his nose. There was no way he knew what the whole thing was about but he didn’t look like he particularly minded it right now. He reached to ruffle Jaden’s hair who beamed at him again, “I say I like you, kid. Jay, was it?”

“Jaden Wil- Jaden.” He coughed. “Just Jaden, really.”

Slade hummed, watching him carefully for a few seconds. “Sure.”

Blush covered Jaden’s cheeks and he scratched nervously under his nose but the smile on his lips didn’t flatten even for a second.

“Now go dance!” The boy waved them off. “Go have some fun!”

Dick found himself glancing at Slade. He didn’t look angry, mostly amused and when his gaze found Dick’s he simply offered him his hand with a curl of his lips that Dick would almost call fond.

“Shall we, then?” He asked, voice almost a purr.

Jaden was smiling at him, smug and proud of himself and Dick- Dick was going to kick his ass later.

He was probably going to regret it. There was no way Slade just forgot how Dick cost him half a million dollars and even if he wasn’t angry right now, he would still make sure that Dick pays for ruining his contract. If not now then later and no doubt taking pleasure in keeping him on his toes the whole time.

But now… now Slade looked almost gentle. Under the ballroom’s light, dressed in the three-piece-suit he almost seemed like a normal human and not a super-soldier mercenary.

Before he could think better of it, he took a deep breath and placed his hand in Slade’s.

“Alright.”

When it's time to go to the Dark World to rescue Jesse, do any of the DM crew join the GX kids or no?

This is my Great War. Every day I think about this idea.

Because there are three options here.

1) They stay behind

The portal closes before they can get there. And they are forced to wait.

Now as I wrote here Seto does still have the dimension pod that he used to go to the afterlife and duel Atem. However they were using them to try and track down Jesse. If they get left behind they won’t stay there for long. But I don’t know if they would try and lock on to Jaden or Jesse.

If they decide to go after Jesse they are going to run into possessed Jesse. Leading to a duel with Yubel. I don’t think Yubel would win but I also don’t think they’d lose. I think they’d find a way to end the duel in a draw through outside forces. And then send anything they could to keep the DM crew occupied.

Or

They track Jaden which has the same outcome as option two

2) They get there just as the portal opens and get sucked in

Now much like Zane, Aster, and Crowler they end up some place different then the Gx kids.

They don’t catch up to Jaden until he’s already the Supreme King. And oh we have so many options from here

This is Jaden at arguably his most powerful. He has super poly and is not holding back. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything right now and that makes him dangerous.

Add into this that the DM crew as are looking at their son/nephew who they raised as a little family unit. He’s lost to them right now and they are trying everything to snap him out of it.

How many DM characters do you think the Supreme King can beat?

Note they might be ‘going all out’ but they would never risk killing Jaden. Joey is definitely dueling the same way he did against Mai in the Oricalcos arc. Focused more on snapping Jaden out of it than wining. But as we know from Axel winning is the only way to defeat the Supreme King.

Yugi is absolutely trying to make the appeal to his son. “This isn’t you. I love you. Come back to me.” We could make this so heart wrenching.

Note they would probably met up with Axel right after Jim was lost. Axel tells them the horrible truth. This is because I still want to give the final duel against the Supreme King to Axel as it is a great moment for his character.

Plus after it’s all over Jaden has to live with not only ‘killing’ his friends (again not your fault) but also hurting and maybe killing some of his family.

3) They join the Gx crew for the whole journey.

Jaden still tries to rush ahead but the DM crew are not only experienced Jaden wranglers but also experience desperate protagonist wranglers. It’s your time to shine Aunt Téa and Dad Yugi.

They are able to keep a better eye on the kids so they don’t get captured. Meaning there has to be another way to sacrifice people.

We have some options

A) the Gx crew still gets put under the spell

they start talking crap about Jaden which greatly disturbs the DM crew for a lot of reasons.

Then they reach Brron the man traps separates the two groups all the Gx crew into duels (like a five on 1 tag duel?) but they all lose except Jaden because of their sadness/rage.

Leaving Jaden friendless and feeling like he couldn’t protect them. 

Jaden feels like a failure and maybe he gets tricked into thinking his family is dead and that’s what makes him fall.

B) it’s the DM crew Brron targets for his spell. They don’t have the negative feelings towards Jaden but each other.

Hear me out.

The whole situation has been stressful and a lot of them (Joey and Tristian) are upset with Seto’s school that keeps putting Jaden and friends in danger.

Téa and Yugi as super sad about Jaden’s lose of normalcy and also the way some of his friends behave.

Seto’s pride is as large as ever.

It’s not that they don’t love each other, they do but it’s stress and the situation and complex feelings. They’re not blaming each other but the situation and the spell brings out those negative emotions.

This ends with them getting sacrificed

Jaden has to watch as he loses his family and he loses it.

This also allows the Gx crew to be more active in the plot and maybe have some bonding with the remaining DM crew as only four are sacrificed.

Again this is my Great War. I have no idea which idea to go with.

Andy fiddled with his bandana, tightening it around his forehead, soaking up the sweat, licking his dry lips, running a hand through his black curls, and checking if he had everything: wallet, cash, and a small piece of paper Freddy and Jaden had given him for topics to talk about on his date.

He was nervous about the date; he even wore his good band T-shirt with a black button-up and his good pants for this date; he had to look good; it was for the one and only Johnny Lawrence, that beautiful blonde Adonis gifted California with. Honestly, it was shocking when Andy came up to Johnny while speaking English.

"There's a new diner that opened close to the local library, wanna go?" It was the only thing he squeaked out, sweating so profusely it could put a sinner in church to shame, and Johnny agreed, a slight blush spreading across his pale face.

"Sure, what time you wanna go?" Johnny asked, raising an eyebrow and giving Andy his charming smile.

"Great, uh, meet you there then, six-thirty, good?" He tried to play it cool, putting his hands in his pockets, looking to the side, and acting like he didn't care; this made Johnny chuckle and agree.

So here he is now, waiting outside the new diner they'd opened up; it had a red color themed to it; Johnny seemed to like red; it looked good on him, especially when he had his leather jacket, or when he sat in his red Avanti, red was definitely his color.

"Who are you waiting for, man?" A voice spoke behind him. Andy turned around in surprise and panic but relaxed when brown eyes met an ocean blue.

"I like your shirt; my friend Dutch took me to their concert once, really cool." Johnny smiled at him, hands tucked into the pockets of a jean jacket, and smiled down at the boy.

"Thanks...My dad gave me this—you look really pretty," Andy said. A dopey smile appeared, and his cheeks became a soft cherry red; Johnny laughed a bit and covered his mouth with his hand, embarrassed, cute.

"I had my boys help me. I've never been on a regular date in a while, mostly in fancy restaurants and the country club. Wanna go in, or are we going to stand outside" he asked, walking to the entrance, "Right! Yeah, uhm, my mom took me here when it opened, and they have some bomb-ass milkshakes and some good banana splits."

Andy went and opened the door for Johnny, who made a small comment about him being a gentleman; they sat in a booth far in the corner of the place; it was decorated in the era of the 50s, with red and white checkered walls, Records of famous 50s singers and Movie stars, the place was pretty, a great hang out spot.

"What can I get y'all to drink?" A waitress came with a pad and a red pen in hand, giving them the menu to look at; Johnny looked at Andy, blonde eyebrow raised, "What would you suggest?" He asked with a smile, "Pink lemonade is good here...two pink lemonades and, uh, two milkshakes," Andy ordered; the waitress nodded and wrote it down.

"Will the milkshakes be two different flavors? We have Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla," the waitress suggested, looking at the teens.

"oh! I want the Strawberry one!" Johnny smiled and looked at Andy to choose; he was too distracted by freaking out, "Uh..I'll have vanilla then," the boy stuttered a bit; the woman nodded, "I'll give you guys a moment to look over the menu" and then left to attend someone else.

"Vanilla is a little basic, don't you think" Johnny teased, flipping through the menu; Andy cleared his throat and laughed a bit, "Well, I think strawberry is a little gross, in my opinion," he shrugged with a smirk. Johnny scoffed a bit.

"Strawberry-flavored things are better than Vanilla! Like Laffy Taffy! Strawberry is the best one!" He defended, and Andy shrugged again, "Just saying! It's gross! Most strawberry-flavored candies suck ass! Trust me." He flipped the menu.

"Well, maybe I should get you good strawberry candies, cause I've had some that are so good, I could get you some," Johnny offered with a smile; Andy looked up and blushed, rubbing his hands together, "I wouldn't mind, Hey you should try the burgers they're perfect" he leaned and pointed to the Double cheeseburger on Johnny's menu.

Johnny looked up; they were a bit close. He could see how pink Andy's lips were and how crooked his teeth were, but cutely, "Alright, I'll get that then," he said and closed the menu when the waitress came back, dropping their two strawberry lemonade, Vanilla, and Strawberry Milkshakes on the table.

"here you boys go; you ready to order?" She asked, taking out the notepad and pen again from her apron, "Yeah, we both want the double cheeseburgers with fries, please," Andy ordered for the two of them; the waitress nodded, telling them their order would be out in a bit and walked away with the menus.

A small silence came of the two, soft jazz music playing in the background of the diner. Andy bit his lip and drummed his finger on the table, and his hand went to the pockets of his pants and looked down at the paper.

He gave one last look before turning to look at the beautiful blonde in front of him; he cleared his throat and placed his hands on the table, "So... How's karate? I've passed by your dojo once; looks really cool," he commented.

This caught Johnny's attention; he tilted his head as if he was thinking, "It's going good, I've won two tournaments now, and I've even gone against some adults in the class and won," he said with pride, a proud smile spread his lips, it was impressive, a seventeen-year-old boy fighting against twenty and up year olds?

"That's really cool; I was thinking of joining. It seems cool, but I don't know; I'm more of a soccer than a karate guy," Andy said with a smile; Johnny hummed, grabbed his drink, and took a sip, humming.

"I've seen you play against Bobby and Jimmy. Don't tell them, but you're a little better than they are," He said with a laugh; the compliment made his chest burn with pride, praised by his crush; what a world.

"just a bit? I'm pretty sure I'm more than a bit," he joked, itching Johnny to praise him more, "well...You are better than Jimmy, Not Bobby," he giggled, sucking on the straw for his lemonade.

Andy smiled and drank his lemonade. "I'll take that. Bobby is pretty hard to beat. So, are there any new movies? I watched The Gremlins recently, and it was really cool."

Johnny stayed quiet again, thinking, the silence made Andy anxious, "Indiana Jones movies, fucking love them, he's such a badass! I wish to be like him when I'm older, going out in adventures and shit!" He expressed excitement.

"Indiana Jones? Really? Have you seen the newest movie?" He asked

"no! Theirs a new one?" Johnny tilted his head like a puppy. Andy quirked a smile and drank his lemonade.

"yeah! Maybe we could go see it; I got out a few months ago; if you were an Indiana Jones fan, you would've seen it," Andy laughed; Johnny hummed and smiled.

"Well, I was busy and probably missed the announcement, but I'd like to see the movie with you; it could be our second date." Johnny smiled and placed his hand on top of Andy.

His eyes were filled with shock; another date? "Second date? You sure" he whispered, looking at Johnny and kicking his lips.

"Yeah, you're cute, and I've seen you around school and the soccer field...I think I can try a second date with you... I'd like to get to know you more," Johnny explained with a slight blush on his face; he felt shy when he spoke; it's been long since he's been asked out on a date.

Their hands slowly molded together, fingers intertwined with love and shyness from the two boys.

Andy's eyes were wide, he couldn't believe this, the boy who's usually very aggressive and a bully, was being vulnerable and so shy, he felt special seeing this soft side of him, "Really?" He whispered.

"Yeah...You seem really nice and really...special, so yeah." Johnny chuckled a bit; they stayed quiet, just staring into the eyes of each other; warmth filled their chest, a sweet moment.

"All right, boys, I have your orders." The waitress came by, holding a tray of the two burgers; they took their hands away from each other with hesitance, "thank you, ma'am," The boys said; the waitress just smiled and excused herself.

The two continued their conversation, talking about movies, karate (Johnny begged Andy to go to one of the Cobra Kai classes), rock music, and friends, and surprisingly, they talked about art. Johnny had an eye for drawing and museums, where he would try to draw his renditions of the paintings.

"let me try the strawberry milkshake," Andy nudged his chin to the glass as he wiped his mouth, "I thought you said it was gross." Johnny grinned at him, grabbing the milkshake, "I want to try something new; maybe you could change my mind." Andy chuckled.

"Mm, fine, but just a sip, okay?" Johnny chuckled, grabbing the straw from Andy's milkshake and placing it on his own. He put the milkshake in the middle, "drink," and giggled, lips wrapped around the red straw.

Andy blushed. This felt really intimate, but it felt suitable for the two. They were on a date, right? Was this normal?

Andy leaned over and took the straw between his lips, sucking and tasting the sweet sugary, strawberry-flavored milkshake; he leaned back and hummed with a red face, "Alright, it is good, I have to admit," Andy said with a laugh.

Johnny cracked a smile and giggled, "See, I told you, I'm never wrong about strawberry things" he winked and sucked on the straw more; Andy licked his lips and nodded, "Right, well, wanna order dessert? I wanna try the banana splits again," he bit his lips seeing those pretty pink lips wrapped around the red straw.

Johnny nodded, and they called the waitress over, ordering one Banna split with sprinkles; it came out a few minutes later, and the waitress wished them a happy meal and walked away.

"Okay, I'll have the first bite because I haven't tried it yet, and you have," Johnny said, picking up the metal spoon but was stopped by Andy's hand on his wrist, "Aht, Aht, let me do this please kinda been dreaming of doing this," he said with a big blush that reached his ears.

Johnny looked confused but placed his spoon down, "All right, go for it?" He squinted his eyes with a slight chuckle; Andy smiled and picked up his spoon, scooping some of the Banna and ice cream before moving it towards Johnny's lips.

"This? Really?" Giggled Johnny, parting his lips and eating the Banna split, licking his lips and humming, "Mmm, it's good, perfect. Is the vanilla from Mexico?" he asked, tasting the flavors on his tongue. Andy blushed with a giggle.

"I think so; what's the difference between American and Mexican vanilla," Andy asked, itching for another conversation where Johnny could geek out.

"Well, vanilla from Mexico is more flavorful and picked from a tonka tree, while US vanilla is from a regular vanilla plant; those trees are completely different from one another," Johnny explained, taking his spoon and eating from the glass bowl.

Andy hummed and nodded, "you know a lot about like food and movies," he commented; Johnny nodded, "Yeah, my step-dad makes a lot of different business deals, and as a gift, they always give him something, like last week, he made a deal with a French bakery, and they gave him some goods that had use vanilla from Mexico, and last year he made a deal with this film director that gave him action movies imported."

Johnny spoke more about the deals his step-dad made and the different things he's seen and tasted; it fascinated Andy, having Johnny Lawrence talk to him about certain things Hing's other kids in school aren't allowed to do.

They finished their shared strawberry milkshake and the Banna split, leaving an excellent tip for the waitress, Johnny took out his wallet to pay in the front, but Andy beat him to it, slapping sixty bucks on the counter, "I asked you out, so I got you" he said with a cheeky smile while Johnny blushed and looked away.

They walked out of the diner, side to side, hands so close that Andy just wanted to take his hand and hold it like back in the restaurant, "I had fun..really," Johnny said, looking down at Andy; he smiled and nodded, "I did too… it's was fun..I like all your nerd knowledge on karate and stuff" he teased making Johnny roll his eyes and giggle.

Johnny's giggle might be his favorite sound; it sounded cute and soft, something only for Andy's ears.

"Me too; I haven't been out on a date for a long time; I had fun…so do you want a second date?" He asked, stopping in front of his red Avanti; Andy scratched his neck, thinking he didn't need to feel it since he blurted quickly.

"Yeah, I can pick you up and take you to the drive-in."

Johnny smiled, "All right, how about…after my tournament, we go? Could be my prize for winning?" He giggled and leaned and pressed his lips to Andy's cheek.

"I really had fun; thanks for letting me ramble about things I like… You're cute and funny; it's a win for Me. See you," he whispered into Andy's ear before he got into his Avanti and drove away.

Andy was left stunned and had his hand on his cheek. His whole body froze up, and the blush on his face made him look like a red traffic light.

On his second date, drive-in, after the tournament with Johnny Lawrence, Andy blinked and giggled; he had another date!

He, indeed, was a special guy.

Can you imagine if Syrus' friends are just as confused as the audience regarding the fact that Syrus never snapped or became evil?

Imagine them being like, "Are you sure you don't want to go apeshit now?" quite a lot of times and Syrus always shrugging like, "Nah, not right now."

Even Zane would be a bit on the edge by the time Syrus is in charge of his recovery.

Honestly Syrus had every right to snap at some point over Zane's treatment of him. Zane treated him so bad for so long that he suffers debilitating anxiety and extremely low self-esteem and self worth. But he never held a single thing against Zane. Honestly no one did for more than a single episode for the purpose of the episodic narrative.

Syrus looks up to Zane so much that he believes everything Zane says about him is right and that he has every right to treat him as poorly as he does. He adores his brother, he loves him and idolizes him and tries so hard to make him proud and after meeting Jaden and start to gain a little more confidence and learn to believe in himself, try to prove Zane wrong.

But no matter what people still see him as being in Zane's shadow. They tackle that in episode 4 season 2: "Sad But Truesdale" one of my favorite episodes btw lol which is really the only time we see him even remotely snap or get confrontational and stand up for himself, or at least it's the first time we see that.

But the thing is, at that point he and Zane have.... sort of made amends, namely Zane telling Sy he proved him wrong about saying Sy didn't belong at Duel Academy and saying he loves him before sacrificing himself to protect him from Camula back in episode 32, but being in season 2, Zane is about to go dark himself. which therein lies the reignited of the big issue.

Because after all of that progress they made, when Zane goes dark he reverts back to not caring about Syrus but even worse than before. Even back in season 1 they try to give you hints that he might actually care about Syrus a little bit not that I believe it for a second, but now he truly doesn't care at all. Not just not caring about Syrus but not caring about anyone. But it really comes to a head in episode 95, when Syrus duels Zane to try and remind him of who he used to be, but also to prove to Zane that he's strong enough to face him and strong enough to be a true duelist. Which only serves to land him in the hospital with Zane just writing him off as weak and just as worthless and weak as he had always said he was before. Just pure emotional whiplash for Sy to deal with after the progress they started making in season 1. I literally wrote an entire one shot about it that episode fucks me up so much and makes me so mad and upset But then there's even more whiplash in season 3 because Zane comes back and protects him in Dark World and helps him work through his conflicting feelings about Jaden, and then after basically bestowing Sy unto Jay:

"You can’t leave Syrus! 😢 He needs a big brother! 😭"

"He's got one. 😌"

LITERALLY SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP EVERYWHERE STOP I CAN'T

and telling Syrus he's proud of him he says literally nothing to Sy in the sub and I hate that just dies right in front of him.

Boom. More trauma.

And then they back pedal on his death and he's alive again in season 4 and Sy dedicates so much time and effort and attention and love hinto being his caretaker. When he has every right not to. Syrus is too good to be Zane's brother. Zane doesn't deserve him.

I know I've been blabbing on here and, but listen Sy's my favorite ever I have a lot to say akaksk 😂 Syrus had every right to snap at some point, that's my whole point, and the whole point of this whole ask I'm sorry for the whole dissertation happening here akksksk

Syrus needed to have his

Moment at some point. He deserved to get frustrated with Zane, to hold him accountable for everything he said and did to him. I hate that no one ever held anything against Zane and just gave him a pass for his abusive behavior. Syrus can if he wants to, that's his right and his choice but the others shouldn't have allowed it to continue happening and not call him out on it more than the one time Jay did in episode 8 and then just dropped it.

I know if I were his friend I would be very surprised he hadn't snapped ever. I think they all should be surprised, but also at the same time it's just not the type of person Sy is. He gets into arguments and is confrontational with people sometimes it's Hassleberry 9 times out of 10 lol but generally speaking he's very timid and is just content with his situation because Zane has beaten him down so much over the years. If anything they would be more surprised if he did snap or go dark, but I think if he did it would open their eyes to how they contributed to the problem by not actually holding Zane accountable for his actions.

But for the sake of this scenario, I think they might even encourage him to just let loose because holding all that stuff in isn't healthy, but he'd say no even though he definitely would want to deep down.

A real:

Kind of moment if you will. That's what they'd be trying to get him to do, but Syrus not allowing himself to let those feelings out and just having them pile up and fester while putting on the facade that he's okay and isn't angry about everything Zane put him through... yeah I think everyone should be worried and surprised that he hasn't snapped at that point and Zane should be very nervous about Sy taking the role as his caretaker. Because when he finally does snap? All I can say is yikes and good luck because when he finally does allow himself to snap in this scenario I think he would reach a really low spot because he's already there. He would just sink even lower.

They're gonna need all hands on deck to bring him back from that eruption of emotion and pain. Because letting the floodgates open to release that much hurt, I can tell you, not for the same reasons but from being hurt by people before, it's extremely difficult to close those gates again.

And one last point to that end, you know who I think would be integral to saving Sy from that? Chazz. Because he also has horrible and intense older sibling trauma and pain that he's trying to heal from himself, and it's not even all that different from his in some ways. He can understand Syrus's feelings better than anyone, and really sympathize with him and having someone who can even remotely understand his hurt would help Sy so much when he finally does snap. It would be double special too because they never really mixed all that well, but as shitty of a thing to relate to is, this they have in common. And I'd love to see them not like... trauma bond, but trauma bond if you know what I mean aksksk like kinda actually be friends. Because Jaden loves his bestie, but he and the others could only help so much because they know what he's been through, but don't really understand.

IALS - Behind the Scenes Facts

The fic was originally supposed to be a one shot - and then it turned into the longest multi-chapter fic I’ve ever written. 

This is one of the first fics I wrote without an outline and without planning it ahead. Most of the plot lines and scenes are improvised. 

At some point, IALS became some what of an alternative reality to the ending of LBAF IV - What if David left after what Mallory did?

There is so much foreshadowing in IALS about LBAF IV - and even LBAF V. 

It’s the only fic of mine where there is no consistency in the chapter titles or chapter formats and everything keeps changing randomly - because I wanted the format of the story to reflect the characters and their journeys. 

A lot of readers assumed Jaden was inspired by Other Max. But it is actually IALS Max (in the present) who represents Other Max the most. 

The fact the cover of David’s book is a blank white page was hinted in the chapter where Mona and Max visit an art gallery and Max has a moment looking at the blank canvas painting.

It was mentioned in one of the chapters that David never fully takes off his clothes (and insists that they use a condom) when he has sex with Jaden, which is a hint that he knows Jaden is cheating on him and never felt fully comfortable in their relationship. 

IALS was also a practice fic for me to get into the minds/povs of Arthur and Lance. The Lance we have now was not how I originally conceptualised him. IALS turned him into this snarky, smart, sarcastic boy and I love that so much better! 

A big plot point in Arthur’s storyline in LBAF V is repeatedly hinted in IALS.

If you analyse the people Max dated after the divorce, you will notice that they all have some kind of resemblance to David and his personality. 

Jaden has won three Emmy Awards and the seasons he won it include all of Max’s favorite scenes from the show.

In every fic, Max and David, in some way, meet because of Jace. It’s the same in IALS. 

The only times we see David being angry with Jaden is when Jaden acts as a ‘bad parental figure’ because it’s the most obvious reminder to David that Jaden is not and can never be Max. 

In the future of IALS, Lance becomes a forensic linguist, which is the same job David did in BMILY. The fact that Lance has an interest in languages and vocabularies and can accurately analyse people’s speech patterns was hinted multiple times in the fic. 

Max’s view (the first thing he sees) when he wakes up in the morning (in his childhood home, the Bronx apartment, the Staten Island apartment and the D.C. apartment) all have one thing in common.

The fact that Max (despite being a detective) never figured out why David divorced him and never questioned it is partially influenced by his ‘David is too good for me’ mentality - which we have also seen in lbaf and tlnd. 

After Lance graduates from university, Arthur and Lance go on a trip to France all by themselves. 

The fact that David changed his last name (after the divorce) but did not change the children’s last names was an indicator that he would never willingly separate the children from Max. 

The fic was inspired after I listened to ‘Glimpse of Us’ by Joji :)

So, a while back i wrote some notes for a fanfic idea that I had, about Kaiba adopting Jaden when he was very little; there is a lot of fanart about it and a few fanfics too, but a lot of them focused on ships i don't care a lot about so i wanted to write my own take on it... the only problem being that i haven't watched a lot of GX yet, so I didn't feel that confident on writing it, also don't really have a lot of free time.

So i'm posting my notes on it here! Maybe i finish it someday, i don't know, but here it is:

Plot: Jaden Yuki is actually Seto Kaiba’s adopted son, probably named Jaden Kaiba. His biological parents died when he was very young, and Kaiba at the time wanted to adopt a child (he would not admit it out loud, but he was feeling a bit lonely after Mokuba grew up and started to study a lot more and go out with friends, and so decided to adopt someone).

His personality is still pretty similar to the original, very cheery, lazy and childish, but a little smarter since he studied a lot more when he was younger (not a lot though…).

His relationship with his father is a little… complicated. His father clearly loves him, and wants to protect Jaden of any problem that could happen. Jaden also loves his father, and thinks that he is super cool and talented. But Kaiba can be quite clueless about people’s emotions and needs sometimes, and Jaden is pretty reckless and energetic in a way that frustrates his father quite often.

He also wants him to inherit KaibaCorp one day, something that Jaden really does not want to do (he finds this kind of job very boring) and instead wants to become a professional duelist, and become the next king of games. I imagine that the stuff with Yubel happening with him during his childhood too, and I can’t imagine that Seto would want him to spend a lot of his time dueling after all that.

He met Yugi and friends quite a few times, usually on his birthdays. Kaiba did not invite them, of course, but Mokuba wanted the closest thing he had to friends to meet his son. Jaden loves Joey and Yugi, and imitates them a lot, something that annoys his father quite a bit.

(BTW, Yugi has retired from dueling, and now works making games and in his grandfather’s gameshop. He works for KaibaCorp, and can give advice to Kaiba and Mokuba on how to deal with some of Jaden’s emotions sometimes.)

Besides Yugi’s friends, he also probably met Pegasus before (though I doubt that his father ever told him about the bad things he did in the past), as well as Zigfried and Chazz’s brothers. In fact he probably met Chazz when he was younger, but he would not recognize Jaden now.

That’s because Jaden would not be recognizable as Kaiba’s son for the average person; for one, Kaiba decided to not put the spotlight on his son a lot, especially after his childhood, mostly by the insistence of Mokuba to give him a better life as a teen and also stop him from getting kidnapped a lot. He also usually changes Jaden’s hair with gel when they are together, so people won't really know him by his natural “Kuriboh hair” look.

He ends up going to Duel Academy after fighting with his father about his future, with him initially not wanting his son to go; he creates a fake last name (Yuki, inspired by Yugi) and never tells his friends, other students or teachers about the fact that Seto Kaiba is his father (maybe Shepard knows about it, Crowler definitely does not); his father also does not know initially, but Jaden tells him pretty early on and he begrudgingly accepts it. He calls his father on the phone sometimes, probably lies about being in Obelisk Blue. (maybe his father learns the truth later on, won't tell Jaden though.) 

That means that when he helps people with their family problems (Syrus, Chumley, Chazz, Alexis… a lot of people actually) it feels very strange for him; he does not know how to solve the problems with his own father, and just wants to run away from his problems with him.

Eventually i guess Kaiba would finally visit his own school and finally discuss things with Jaden face to face, probably the two would fight about his choices for his future and the fact he's in Slifer. Jaden's friends would probaby be shocked to say the least

Few weeks ago I had a mod sex dream and immediately wrote a mod fic. Last week I had a Jaden sex dream and I’m currently super fixated on him and I’m 1,700 words into a Jaden fic. so, moving on to jaden!

fav thing about them: i actually wrote a separate post on that recently, but the pure, childish, selfish enjoyment of dueling as his chief driving force is what i really like about him. dude literally duels to the death with envoys of hell and goes like “that sure was a fun duel!” — and i respect that. on a more serious note, it fits his personality and motivates his development very neatly: the way he loses all excitement about duels when he is forced to play at too high stakes, which sets off a lot of his mistakes and leads to the miserable jaden/yubel fused entity…….. poetic. while we’re at it, that final duel with yubel was fantastic and forming jaden/yubel as a consequence, someone who is theoretically both still jaden and definitely not jaden anymore, very powerful and very confused, was also great.

least fav thing about them: the whole neo space chosen one bullshit seemed rather redundant and introduced a needlessly stupid arc with visits to space and what not?? i mean it’s gx, okay, but that was still hugely farfetched, even taking the context into account.

favorite line: i already brought up the “gotcha! that sure was a fun duel” quote and i feel like it’s really iconic for him, so yes. then maybe less of a one-liner, but what he says to chazz during their society of light duel (that stuff about how losing can be painful and that he apologizes because one of his friends went through all that and he never even noticed) also lives in my head rent free + is a great step forward in his development. lastly, it’s not even his quote, but the line “control the winds; there’s nothing that cannot be surpassed” is just peak jaden for me and i love it.

brOTP: jesse? i like them also as a romantic ship, but they’re great friends, especially with all the similarities and parallels established between them.

OTP: definitely chazz, it’s not even the yugi-kaiba relation analogy, but there’s just something about these two that makes me feel like they have the ultimate dynamic. still, the fact that jaden acts like a solid 80% of all characters were his boyfriends will never be not funny to me and i like the general uh relationship confusion that this all causes.

nOTP: no strong opinions here, but i kinda dislike shipping him with the kaiser or syrus. just very unfortunate combinations, romantic-wise, if you ask me.

random headcannon: i wrote a fic where jaden can’t really sleep during stormy nights because the sound of thunder gets to him and it just stuck with me and ever since. besides, i see him as extremely touchy feely clingy with all his friends, equally so with closer and more distant ones, but that’s at least half canon.

unpopular opinion: i disliked the supreme king jaden plot part — i get that he snapped hard after all that happened in that spirit dimension, but this whole situation seemed very exaggerated and didn’t really stick together plot wise either.

also i don’t know if that’s unpopular, but jaden’s ending in gx is probably the best i could have thought up for him myself. 100% satisfied with how his story was closed.

song i associate with them: the first opening, “fine weather rising hallelujah”! for non-op ones, probably either “new divide” or “burn it down” (linkin park), but that’s referring rather to jaden/yubel or his whole character arc, not the careless s1 vibes.

honestly, not really physically ?? jaden's less concerned with the physical aspects of things, but if he had to name something, he'd definitely like someone with slightly longer hair so he can play with it easily.

he's pretty comfortable !! jaden knows that, if nothng else, he's super cute and has nice arms, and cute boys with nice arms don't do too bad in the world. he doesn't really have anything he'd like to change — the only thing he really changes appearance-wise is taking out his lip piercing when jordan comes back and he realizes they're matching, but that's more of a petty thing.

23. would your muse be good at recognizing their partner's needs right away, or would it take some time?

honestly .. it might take him a bit of time. despite the fact that he's literally an empath, jaden can kind of struggle with being emotionally sensitive and aware of other people's needs. not in a cruel way, necessarily, but you can totally tell he's the spoiled youngest child because he's never really needed to be ... careful ?? so it's harder for him to pick up on things unless it's very obvious. until he's been in a long term relationship with someone for a while, it might take him some time to pick up on their tells and will need to kind of be told. it's not for a lack of caring !! he just needs some nudging.

29. how important is having (a) physically attractive partner(s) to your muse?

to jaden, attraction is purely subjective and he doesn't think it's the most important thing in the world. what attracts him to people is their personality, and that's what's going to make them attractive to him, not their body. it's all about who they are, not what they look like.

32. does your muse have an ideal "type"?

honestly, not really ?? i think, if anything, jaden just likes people who are patient with him and willing to have fun with him. he doesn't like being too serious and likes being a free spirit, so someone who can be compatible with that is super important !! other than that, i can honestly say he doesn't care much as long as someone isn't too similar to, like, jordan. ew. he doesn't see the emo shithead appeal, personally.

Episode 12

Jaden your a butthole. Walking three batters so he can get the chance to pitch to Bastia and get even. I love your competitive spirit but my boy rein it in.

Crowler why are you putting down Chazz to put up Bastian? Like I get you want and obelisk blue to beat Jaden but to publicly humiliate Chazz and tell him you will drop his dorms if he loses all because he lost to Jaden is wild. (Like I want Chazz to become a better person but Crowler stop bullying your students)

I love Bastian getting Jaden and Syrus to help him paint his dorm and hang out. Also I love how much they support Bastian.

Meeting Chases brother for the first time. I hate them just as much as I remeber

I love Bastian coming to sleep over at the Slifer dorm. (This is setting up for all the students who start living there in season 2)

I love Dorthy coming to tell Jaden about Bastian’s cards getting thrown into the harbor. I love Jaden’s worry for his friend. (Chazz that’s such a dirty trick)

I love Alexis and Zane coming to rat out Chazz’s actions. (But Alexis why didn’t you get the cards out of the water? Like I get it it’s dark and harbor deep but Joey Wheeler jumped off the side of a moving ship to get Exodia. You knew those were someone’s cards and you act like your deck is your life, so why not try and save a few? By the time Jaden gets there they are ruined but not when Alexis is there. Obviously the current is nonexistent if the cards haven’t moved between Chazz dumping them and Jaden finding them. Fl just jump in!)

Love the reveal that Bastian has six decks strapped to him at all times.

I love Bastian’s chemistry deck. I wish they did more with it. Making creatures based on the elements of the period table and then creating fusions for compounds would be sick. (I know they have something similar but I want more of these element themed dinosaurs)

I love Jaden and Zane (we will throw Alexis in to) complementing Bastian’s dueling skills to Syrus

Bastian proving that Chazz stole his cards by showing the formula he wrote on one, amazing “Chazz you stole you cheated, you lost, you deserve to be demoted.” Why didn’t we get more of this Bastian?

Also Bastian refusing to become obelisk until he’s the number one duelist in the freshman class. And then turning to Jaden and saying that’s you.

Episode 13

The monkey looks like and Xenomorph with the helmet and wires on it.

Chazz leaves the school. Jaden calling out how awful Chazz’s friends are. Then they all decide to go and look at him.

A dueling monkey named Wheeler. Enough said.

In this au this episode is summed up with a picture of Jaden and Wheeler going in the family group chat. “It’s me and Uncle Joey.” Joey is high key offended, how could his littlest buddy betray him like this. The. Jaden tells them what happened. Joeys still mad but now at Kaiba.

Jaden also tells them about how the scientist were going to take all of the monkeys and the student if Professor Banner didn’t come to their rescue. Seto’s furious. “Oro-san I never ask this, but can you fire these guys?”

Episode 14

I love the duel spirit is showing up this early.

Jaden not going home for the holidays shows that his cannon parents and him aren’t close. In this au I think he stays because Syrus and Chumley are staying.

Using jinzo to call back to the DM show (Joey’s getting so many shout outs)

Jaden offering his soul to save three other people, it’s very heroic, but Jaden please work on your self-sacrificing attitude before people (your friends) take advantage of it.

I love that Jinzo see Kuriboh and is surprised Jaden has a duel spirit beside him. Jaden’s “he’s a friend first and a spirit second.” I love them.

Jaden ending the episode knowing that duel spirits are real, and dangerous. Great set up.

Episode 15

This dumb episode.

Why are we dueling over Alexis? To be her fiancée? Her and Jaden are first years and this guy is a third year. (It’s giving ‘where my hug at?’ Energy)

Alexis saying the only reason she’s still there is to see if Harrington is as strong as Zane. Fair. But also I wish she was more active.

I already said that Jaden doesn’t know what a fiancée is in this au because Yugi and Seto skip that step. But I also see him being very upset at the way Harrington talks about Alexis. He was raised around Mai and Téa. He’s not taking this.

He was already annoyed with the way Harrington kept interrupting their conversation with his over possessiveness. I think when Harrington challenges him and says ‘winner gets to be Alexis fiancée,’ Jaden might not know what that means but he’s not a fan of this guy trying to make decisions for Alexis. He turns to Alexis and points at the guy. “Do you want to duel him or do you want me to?” Harrington is upset because he challenged Jaden! But Alexis is touched that Jaden puts the ball in her court.

Harrington is throwing a fit so Alexis tells Jaden he can duel but she’s not going to be anyone’s fiancée. After the match Haden goes over to her and asks ‘what’s a fiancée anyway?’ Which surprises everyone and allows Alexis to responded with “it doesn’t matter. We’re friends.” And Jaden just shrugs it off. If Alexis doesn’t care why should he.

Episode 16

Crowler being stressed about his obelisk’s losing duels and having Antes with are against the school rules. (Didn’t Chazz’s first duel with Jaden have an Ante? Look how many rules that boy broke)

Also him comeing to Jaden to fix his problem. (And so it begins, Jaden being the school aron boy.) “no homework for you and Syrus for the rest of the year!”

Chumley asking Jaden “do you even know how to say no?” And Jaden looking confused that’s it that’s the root of all of Jaden’s problems

I love how much more active kuribih is. And that there is a track in the academy for kids who want to design games, not just play them. Since that is what Seto and Yugi do they grow up to make games/game tech.

Jaden figured out the duel giants identity in less then 24 hours. Anyone who says Jaden isn’t smart is wrong. He just has tunnel vision.

These two losers being willing to sacrifice their dreams for each other. Jaden not turning them in because he knows what it means to be made fun of. I wish these two were reoccurring characters. Jaden is such a good person

First Impression: So like funny story. I first saw Judai when I was 10 and obsessed with 5Ds and god I HATED him LOL I thought he was so arrogant and annoying, I just could not STAND this boy. I don't know if younger me would adore me because I own the core rose dragon deck or slap me across the face for liking Jaden Yuki. "BLUH" younger me cried. "JADEN? I HATE JADEN! JADEN WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS YUSEI! YUSEI IS THE BEST PROTAG AND 5DS IS THE BEST SHOW!" I was so goofy when I was a kid.

Impression now: in late 2021, I watched yugioh gx and read the manga. At first I was pissed because I still believed in 5Ds supremacy. I believed in Yusei and Yusei only. But then I got like a couple of episodes in. And man. Watching Judai just have fun was so NICE!! Watching his friendship with Bastion especially and watching his relationship with his friends grow and watching him learn and go on silly adventures in season 1 was just FUN. Judai is fun and that's why I like him, GX could trick you into thinking school is fun because with Judai as a protagonist, everything does feel fun! And it makes me happy. He is also my son!! He's very hard to dislike and very hard to hate and he's a really interesting character to analyse.

[LONG DUMBASS RAMBLE AHEAD]

A lot of GX's subtle storytelling in season 1 foreshadows a lot about Judai's life and its interesting seeing it piece all together in season 3. The fact that Judai doesn't have a lot of memories of his childhood and the fact he doesn't go home at all kind of suggests from the start that he at some point has experienced some kind of trauma and that he's most likely a latchkey kid (which isn't too uncommon in Japan). Additionally, watching his mental health decline and seeing him self destruct while trying to keep up with his hero complex is painful but also feels surprisingly real. I mentioned it briefly in Manjoume's ask but Judai in a way perfectly encapsulates the ups and downs of adolescence - depicted through his complicated relationship with his friend circle, his implied romance with Johan, the build up of all his stress and ultimately his downfall. And that's just why I love him!! He's a tornado of emotions and a ball of energy. He runs into every new adventure, whisking the audience away with him and giving us insight in his wins, his loses, his mistakes and how he rectifies them. A lot of characters do get sidelined in GX but at the end of the day, GX is in a weird way about growing up and its through Jaden we see that happen. It almost makes me emotional seeing him in season 4 because you can tell that the events that have happened have changed him and he's no longer that silly kid that played baseball with his best friends or gambled for sandwiches during lunch. The events in the series have permanently changed him and he's grown up.

You'll never be that kid again, but in the end you're still you. And as long as you find happiness in your own way, you don't ever need to be the same as the way you were. You have to just keep moving forward and do what's best for you.

Judai is wonderfully written and incredibly likable in his own silly way, and that's why he's my favourite protag.

Unpopular opinion: Idk if this is unpopular but I don't like when people limit Jaden's personality to being obsessed with duel monsters. He has other hobbies! He plays all sorts of sports, plays video games, likes to fish, browses web forums, etc. (Not aimed at anyone in particular naturally, just a pet peeve of mine)

Favourite relationship: Oughh I like Spiritshipping... but I also like Gx Rivalshipping... But I also like Heroshipping... platonic fiance is my favourite thing too... his relationship with Bastion is also heavily slept on... but also his complex friendship with Syrus and how Hassleberry looks up to him and how codependency (not necessarily romantically) is explored through his relationship with Yubel...

4. How many WIPs do you have right now?

If I’m counting right I have about…twelve. Return from the Different Dimension, Sunshine Smile, Shard of Hope which might officially be abandoned at this point, a writing for AiYusa month on twitter which ended ages ago, The World Ends With Yu(GiOh), White Salvation, Magical Hats, Information: Put Peter Pan in his Place, Skating in the Rain, Bacon Saver, Offline Blues, and Cat Meeting. I don’t count Total Drama (Duel Academy) Island because it’s a reframing of a fic I wrote in middle school, so it’s finished, I literally just have to edit it as I go.

Of the twelve WIPs I have, seven I’ve started working on the next chapter for. The first seven listed here. The rest, to the best of my memory, I have not.

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

Oh, there’s a great many that I have had… Predictably, I think they’re mostly yugioh. Revolver and Windy being paired up as ignis and origin is one. I’d say Atem returns and gets his own body au is one, but I think I would like to attempt that eventually, I just have to figure out the right approach. Something to do with Jaden and Zarc both being Supreme Kings would be really cool, but I’m not sure I can pull that off. There’s that Yuma and Kaito roleswap-ish au that I made a oneshot for ages ago, I would love to write more of it, but I…don’t think I’m capable. At this rate, I’m kinda wondering if twewygo will ever get off the ground, though I’m determined to make it so. So there’s…a few there! Lol! A few ideas that I may never touch again, and a couple I really really want to.

The Remake of Jaden's Lore: Prologue

A/N: I started reworking on Jae for a bit. I changed their name from Saige to Jaden, I decided to change their pronouns to they/them unless the characters within their stories and lore refer to them as other pronouns, and now I’m rewriting their lore. I wasn’t satisfied with how I wrote it so I decided to change it up. In the first part, I will refer to Jaden as Celestia or Celeste Flores since this is dating back to their life as an angel in Heaven. Later in their lore, they’ll soon be referred to and officially known as Jaden Michaelis. I wanted to clear this up before it causes any confusion.

Born from an “angelic” mother and a demonic father, Celestia Flores faced many obstacles within her afterlife. She became an outcast while she grew up. It wasn’t a problem in Hell since she was part of the small population of angels and not many demons cared, but it became a problem once she entered Heaven. Her mother, who was a queen, only showed off her youngest children just to look good not only for the family, but for the public as well. Behind closed doors, Celestia was shamed for being a daughter of a demonic father, for not being who her mother specifically wanted her to be, and was forced to watch her twin suffer. 

Celestia never imagined her mother to be this way.

She spent years wondering what her mother had against her and her twin. All they did was try to shower their mother with affection. They tried to talk to her when she complained about how they “never struck a conversation with her”. They tried to give her gifts just to see her hide it and continue to complain about how the twins give nothing in return. The only time they received her attention was when the young angels had friends over. Once they gave up on trying to impress their mother, she then complained about how they stopped loving her. Every time Celestia sought help, her mother always used her problems against her, exposing her vulnerability to continue to tear her child down. When she sought help from her half sister, she was either turned down or told that their mother would never do that.

Celestia was tired of dealing with the endless cycle of gaslighting- No.. it was more than that.. The mother was doing more than gaslighting and her sister didn’t try to help at all. This had to end somehow..

The young angel sauntered into her twin’s room and talked to him about running away from the Flores Manor. At first, he was unsure. Why not call their father for help?

It wasn’t as easy as one thinks. Their father wasn’t able to take care of the twins along with their other siblings from another mother. So, that left Celestia with an idea of running away and hopefully finding a place and a way to reconnect with their father just to let him know what’s going on.

Plus, she had another idea in mind.. The one that no one, not even her twin would suspect.

Right around the corner came the Celestial War. It was around the time their mother was going to be dethroned. The exposure was too much, the rumors from certain paparazzi were confirmed to be true. The mother had to fix her reputation and image. She needed to be back in her power. She couldn’t let her rival take the throne. The only way was to eliminate her twin children for good and erase the truth that was exposed by Celestia. In the middle of the war, the younger twin grabbed her older twin by the hand and made a run for it. A familiar voice screamed until it cracked, begging for the twins to come back.

One fatal mistake that Celestia made was looking back to see her sister. Once she looked ahead, she could only remember hearing a thunder strike and seeing all black.

After falling from the heavenly skies with her twin, Celestia woke up in an unfamiliar place. The fresh blood oozing from her shoulder blades stained her white dress and the dirt beneath her. Before she could worry about her injuries, she scooped her older twin into her arms. Tears streamed down her face as she lightly shook him, hoping that he was still alive. She frantically looked around the area, hoping to find shelter for the two of them. It didn’t have to be pretty… It just needed to be a sturdy place to live in.

Once the memory ended, Jaden cut off the last bit of their hair before staring at their reflection emotionlessly. They remembered the pain they experienced like it was yesterday. They remembered the times their twin suffered because of their actions, the times their half-sister fought and protested. Even when she screamed, cried, and begged the twins to come back home so she could make things right again. Jaden’s eyes then fell onto their raven locks that laid in the bathroom sink and on the counter.

Now they understood why their father kept telling them and their twin about their narcissistic mother.

“If only mom could accept us…” Jaden balled their fists, their eyes slowly turning red as they stared at their reflection once more.

“Maybe things wouldn’t have gone this way…”
