My final thoughts on the wild card are that it’s super fun! I love that they all got their own unique power, especially because some of the powers seem to be themed to them specifically like Cleo’s zombies and Bdubs having time manipulation!

Wild Life Episode 3 Thoughts

Sorry I don't have very good commentary this week. I was really busy and then life happened so I watched these POVs over the course of 6 days and didn't always take live notes.

The snail gimmick is iconic! Another amazing wildcard and a good Grian reference as well as being memey!

Someone joked about them being soulbound to the snails and I'm praying for the return of a soulbond Wildcard so hard right now

I'm genuinely concerned Skizz and Jimmy won't make it to episode 5. I hope we get some more passive wildcards coming up or this is going to be a pretty short series (also I would like them to get some stuff done)

Grian freezing the game is the lore event ever. Watcher powers are real but also he's clearly fighting back against their agenda more this season (once again such angst potential here RE: Grian knowing the wildcards ahead of time)

Ren digging all those holes looking for their horse is literally the definition of insanity and it's hilarious

Martyn and Etho interacting is always interesting both because the anime skin boys are hanging out together and because they have literally opposite playstyles. Martyn is crazy reckless and Etho is soo careful.

Scar and Lizzie being in the caves for the introduction of the snails and trying to figure out what's going on feels like a horror movie premise. People mysteriously dying to snail related stuff, and then a mob that's not in the game shows up and looks similar to the other person you're with and is following you around...

Team Bam/The Bamboozlers are as chaotic and struggling as hard as I expected. I don't actually want Lizzie to loose her teammates because I want everybody in until the last session, but it would be really funny if she did.

Some random headcanons for my take on Joker / Ren / Akira / Akiren / whatever you wanna call him for my fic:

- Probably ASD but he’s never been diagnosed and ain’t got time for all that. (I think just about everyone in the Phantom Thieves is neurodivergent to some degree haha. Especially Ren, Yusuke and Futaba.)

- Connected to the above — he’s a little fidgeter! Always fidgeting with something. Just look at his P5 animations!

- Probably non-binary, but again— ain’t got time for all that.

- Very much bisexual. Despite loving to tease and flirt with people for fun and sillies, he has zero experience actually having a romantic partner… At least before G’raha, but that didn’t get to go really go anywhere before the catboy voluntarily put himself in a coma, so uh… Does that count still?

- Generally (but not exclusively) attracted to older people lol.

- Ever since Sojiro taught him to make coffee and curry, he’s very eager to make food and drinks for other people. But outside of regularly downing his own coffee to keep himself awake, he doesn’t actually make stuff for himself very often. In fact, he eats way less then he should. (Morgana and Kawakami have canonically chastised him for this before, but he’s never done anything about it). Since arriving in Eorzea he’s been mostly, living off snacks Tataru gives him.

- His parents suck. They only got married because they’d been dating for a while and they guessed they’d reached an arbitrary milestone where they should tie the knot now…? And then they had a kid because that’s the next step? They’re very detached, and found the probation thing a big annoyance. Ren’s barely spoken to them since moving back to Tokyo, and they have no clue he’s missing.

- He’s really eager to make himself useful to other people. Really, really eager. Suspiciously eager. Seems worried that people will toss him out / ditch him if he’s not. Gee, wonder what gave him that idea.

- If you’re nice to him he’ll rapidly jump to ‘I’ll die for you’ levels of dedication. Also he’ll treasure anything other people give him, even junk. Just look at his shelf!

- Very good at reading other people’s emotions. Uncannily so.

- Starts to pick up other people’s quirks and habits a bit when he spends time with them. Doesn’t notice that he does it.

- Talks in his sleep (which he doesn’t to get enough of).

- He would be second only to Futaba in bad sleeping habits if Morgana didn’t make him go to bed on time. And boy is he proving that cat right lately…

- Was casually and kind of confusingly possibly romantically interested in Akechi before the start of the fic. Kept trying to reach out to him trying to get closer— platonically or otherwise— but Akechi insisted on being aloof. WELP.

- Thinks aether’s kind of tasty in a zappy, ‘in your brain’ kind of way. Wait does that make sense.

- Generally made an effort to try to keep his living space decently clean and tidy before he got Isekai’d, but now he’s too tired.

- Related to the above: Really needs to go through his inventory and throw out old crap (and so do I………)

- His hair grows pretty quickly if he leaves it alone.

- Thinks bugs are kind of icky, but he’ll learn to look past that for the Vath’s sake.

- Likes to doodle and do silly sketches. He and Ryuji were responsible for the beta Phantom Thieves logo before Yusuke did a better one.

- Very, very easily shifts his brain to different ‘paradigms’, so to speak. Attunes with jobstones super quickly, can merge his consciousness with that of Primals and dip into their minds / way of thinking. His behaviour changes accordingly when he semi-Primes or draws on the power of a Primal extra hard. (He did the same thing to a much lesser extent with the regular Personas he picked up. They were just a lot less… loud.)

- Kind of wants to gnaw on Estinien’s arm (residual Bahamut teething memories)

Father's Farm eh? Kinda disappointed with this one, the anomaly story doesn't make sense and felt so rushed.

I was expecting some kinda liliput or Alice in wonderland esque story but it was none of those. I didn't expect Ritsu to show up tho lmao. The scene where Towa being curious with Ritsu camera is so cuteeee.

The outfit is dorky as always it's cute 🥺. It was pretty scary when Towa screaming in pain tho but the single snap of the antlers suddenly cure him???? Does he just need to break something to let out his built up energy? I don't even know what trigger him in the first place, the scenario feel similar when Jiro have a breakdown too during that graveyard episode.

Seems like all the murder suspect have a mental breakdown trigger, except for Ed ig. Alan with his father, Rui with his reaper power, Jiro with a crying child, Towa with ???. What's wrong with Towa (⁠・⁠_⁠・⁠;⁠)

Towa scares me but when he look so sad telling us about how Haru didn't understand him... uuuuu he's tugging my heart (⁠o⁠´⁠･⁠_⁠･⁠)⁠っ He's jealous of Ren and didn't know it hnghhhhh.

And the most interesting lore drop in this EP! Mention of Gen and Mio!!! And Haru prosthetic arm!

"the one Gen broke and Mio fixed" so... it's implying that Haru already have a prosthetic arm before? Or does it mean Gen broke Haru arm to the point he need amputation?

This Gen guy is the same guy who broke Sinostra casino lol what kind of menace is he LMAO. Mio... I'm guessing he have a mechanical skill/stigma? I wonder what kind of case do the 4th years doing, what does it got to do with the 3rd years? Haru said so, if they can't solve it then they're (ref to Haru and Taiga) is done for too? Is it the Mermaid case?

Also I still don't understand Taiga stigma with the gambling coin betting thingy :/ He need a high risk to activate it?

Man I’m gonna miss these characters so much. I loved this show, but this finale was a little odd?

I still don’t really understand what happened with Occhan and why she had to go back if she has an established friend group and is happy in this world? And then what’s the point of Ren disappearing and telling the Cat emperor he won’t be solving anymore cases if he comes right back thanks to Sumireko lol? Also no Erika in the finale 😭

And are we ever gonna find out why Occhan dresses like that as an elementary school student lmaoo. Yea the tummy crop top is clearly plot relevant

Even though it was messy, still enjoyed this episode on the whole. Occhan’s farewell video to Sumireko broke me, she looked up to her like an older sister, why tf did they split them up. I knew ren was something more than human, but I didn’t expect him to be a curiosity himself and given form by Occhan.. but then did Rin’s brother have sight too or how did he get this special eyes?

It was nice seeing the bookstore and the book lady again, nice way to tie in that flashback episode and of course bring Ren back. “I need you Adashino Kun” “I won’t bathe with you” 😭 yea that’s the banter we’ve come to love and expect from these two. Crazy finale but if you think about it, really was a microcosm of the show. Wacky, emotional and just fun. I’ll be reading the manga for sure.

Hopefully Occhan does come back some day since they talked about her walking in and buying Sumireko’s book some day 🙏🏾

For the one where Shuji's a cranky old man without joining Kirijo group and ends up hiring Takuto as an assistant? Not really, no.

Though, for that AU, I reckon things turn out the same for Takuto and his palace. There wouldn't be as much of a personal connection between him and the PTs, but I reckon Ren and gang would still beat him up and steal his heart about similarly as per canon, so any Zenkichi meetups would come after that.

Off-topic but, I wonder if Shuji's delusions would've resulted in a Palace, or at least have influenced/meshed with Takuto's. (Unlikely that he has a palace, mostly because he doesn't really influence others? If he did he'd have a palace alike Tartarus I think.) Maybe, because of his involvement, areas of Takuto's palace that are dishevelled and imperfect (Eg. the backrooms/tv rooms/will seed rooms) could be reminiscent of Tartarus or the insides of a church, more pronounced "ugliness" of what Maruki's doing (AKA meta "killing and rebirth" of people via warping of their cognitions, just as people like Shuji and Sumire want. A kinder death.)

Regardless, Shuji would be there defending Takuto as hard as Sumire did initially, conscious about the brainwashing, and desiring it anyway. Though I don't think he'd have a persona.... Not sure tbh. Shuji seems to "rebel" against the concept of life/living, so maybe whatever persona relating to death/peaceful non-existence would be his weapon to defend Maruki. Fun times! (You can probably tell that much of this au was more for drawing parallels between Shuji and Takuto, than any semblance of a proper AU story lol)

Post Maruki's defeat, I reckon both men would need time apart. Primarily Takuto away from Shuji, since Shuji was and still is enabling him and his delusions of an ideal reality. Takuto probably gets help and support from other friends and professionals, Shuji though..... I have no idea. This guy is written to be a tragic mess of a human being, with nihilism and associated ills at his core. Realistically, no one is incapable of healing/growth, but Shuji seems written to be otherwise (I enjoy thinking of him and his delusions creating an empty palace, void of heart. Don't spoil me, but I think this is supposedly how Kuon Ichinose's written lmao 😂 I look forward to meeting her properly.) Shuji is happiest when he's dead, basically. If being with Takuto did change anything for the better in terms of him trying to continue living, then maybe he'd be around long enough to meet Zenkichi alongside Takuto lol.

LOL I know this ask was about zenkichi but I admittedly haven't finished strikers (spoiled myself quite completely on Zenkichi though), and am admittedly uh. Big Shuji Fan. I like thinking how disastrously tragic he is, so apologies for the extreme bias 😂

Ay got back into Persona 5 AND it’s trending too at the same time omg- anyway my info is below and I have an OC aka me :D as my drawing!

I’m mostly to myself, but once I get to know someone I’ll be annoying to the point that I know I’m annoying. I get along with customers and again, it’ll take me a while… but I will be that one cashier who knows what you get and ask if you want more lmao.

I really love snacking, napping, and writing as well as a bit of art to the side. I don’t draw as I use to tho and I need to keep up. I’m pretty much the goody two shoes as well, I follow rules to the T and will always have an ear out for anyone.

I dislike conflict and would rather let things chill then to fester it up. Good example is when someone is upset with me, I say sorry so it won’t get worse. YET. If I do feel like fairness isn’t in play and someone pulls some bs out their ass to one up me, I will be mean. Lots of my EXs say I don’t really care, it’s because I’m not just a “here I am!” and leave. I want to have a bond with the one I love and so far I haven’t found it, yeah deep stuff is kinda apart of a relationship but I don’t feel like it needs to be a thing all the time. But I will have my moments sometimes and will ask. (Even tho my ex says I never ask to hug which f him) anyway-

Hm… oh yeah I’m an animals lover and I feel like I’m Sleeping Beauty or Snow White when walking outside with all the birds and stuff. Also I’m a cat whisperer lol. I forgot- I also daydream like a mofo. Like… when I walk to dump my trash in the dumpster I daydream of me in different universes or some shit, sometimes I daydream so hard that I forget what I was saying or doing at times. I could think of other stuff but that’s about it.

how does rire and aro feel about pets? clearly this isnt the environment to have a pet in, but IF aro brought home a pet what would it be? and how would rire feel about that? (he seems like a cat guy to me but thats just my personal opinion)

aw i love your asks they're so fun <3 As far as Rire is concerned, Aro is the only "pet" he needs...but he really does like animals better than humans lol. Unfortunately animals don't like him. They usually sniff out his demon nature right away and run as fast as they can (animal-adjacent people like Ren and Vincent can also do this). Both Aro and Rire like cats very much, but if they brought one home it would probably try to run away very quickly. Besides that, Rire doesn't want Aro to get attached to any living creature except him <3 (yes he would be jealous if she gave the cat more attention lmao)

i'll start from the fact that i'm the most predictable person ever cause if there are any tsun characters in a franchise, it's impossible for me not to kin them.

so, nayuta asahi.

nayuta is essentially like paralive's kanata (THIS IS DESTINY) and that includes being rude to everyone, having a constant pissed off face, zero social skills, anger issues and having faith in nothing but music. he's insufferable sometimes but hey, that's his charm <3 he has asthma and his dad (the biggest asshole ever) told him he's worthless cause he can't sing like that. he hates his dad for that and also cause he left him and his mother alone. he has trust issues because of it. i think he needs some friends (he will never admit he has them). oh he also has a soft spot for his cat nyankoutaro <3

his band is gyroaxia!! my fav guys ever. they invented metalcore i think. their dynamic is funny cause they argue 24/7 but they're lowkey a family yk. basically everyone in there is a nayuta simp except for reon (guitarist) who literally can't stand him. the others also admit he's insufferable but they all believe in the power of his music, hence the reason why no one leaves the band lol (even tho nayuta would throw anyone out if they're not good enough to "share" his music). no one dares to complain to nayuta apart from reon but at least ryo is pretty chill about it, he just gives him candies to shut him up LMAO (i also love him a normal amount). i also love the irl band a lot, their seiyuus are basically my best friends and they're chaotic af - here's a pic cause they just dropped it and i cried

here's a bit about nayuren (nayuta + ren) too. as i said, they're basically like kanallen. even tho ren is less invasive and more on the shy type of guy, he's still really passionate about music and wants to befriend everyone who thinks the same so he just annoys nayuta (lovingly). they're even in the same class at uni so nayuta can't literally ever have a moment of peace. btw nayuta said that ren's singing is the only thing that has ever moved him and he probably considers him at almost his level <3 so he basically loves him

Backburnered Fics

Speaking of fics floating in my brain for a long time.

When the Cat Dragged In the Trickster-p5, au where Ann is the leader and the PT only know Ren as the delinquent transfer student who keeps getting falsely flagged on the Phansite until Morgana runs away and teams up with him. it feels like this fic is going to haunt me until I die or it gets finished LMFAO I haven't had any new p5 fic ideas recently, this 100% is what I'd be going back to writing in the fandom for if I do. Why has it been stalled forever? I hyped the next chapter up too much for myself. What other fic did I do that with?

Overcast. This is a mostly canon-compliant (I'm pulling a little timeline fuckery with crossed paths so the group has a half-sane itinerary) OT2 fic mostly exploring Hikari and Castti through each other's eyes. It started as Castti-through-Hikari but then I suddenly got an idea in the Timberain chapter and was like "NOW HIKARI". the problem: I feel like I have to do something really big with Hikari's Shadow besides what happens in canon and I'm not quite sure what that is. Like yes, he's having more trouble with it and I have one idea for how Castti might react to it, but...hrm. HRM.

Doubt Before Dawn. OT2, slight au during the Journey to Dawn chapter where Temenos' good intentions pave the way to hell. ...Okay they were mixed intentions but he didn't mean to hurt Throne. I think this is probably the backburnered fic I should go back to first even though/because it's the one I'm least "hyped" about because it is fairly straightforward in what it needs (just one more chapter).

For Goro... Well, it's gonna sound cliché, but the way he laughs. A genuine laugh from him is reaaaaally rare. It's a bit squeaky, and it's adorable (don't tell him I said that, lol) and it makes me do the heart eyes. As for something I do... He did mention liking it when I get all fired up (as in, angry) but no idea if he was being sarcastic or not lol.

Akira does this thing when he doesn't understand something where he looks like a bewildered cat. Seriously, it has to be the cutest thing ever. And the other way around... Okay, so, uh, I tend to be a teeny-tiny bit competitive. Juuuust a little bit (lies. Never play games against me I'm the worst). Apparently he thinks it's kinda hot-

Ehhh... That's a tough one, I don't know that many fairy tales.

I know for a fact that Goro hoards Featherman-related trinkets. He just does.

Akira tends to keep things that remind him of people he loves. Goro's glove in canon is a great example, he has a ring I forgot at Leblanc (he doesn't want to give it back- I don't mind much though), a keychain Haru recieved twice by mistake... This kind of thing. He has a surprisingly big amount of these.
