Help Looking for a Lost Book Series

I just remembered a children’s book series, riding on the Beast Quest popularity wave from 2013-14 from the UK.

It was Sci Fi, the first plotline was a boy called Peri, an orphan? who finds out he's a robot, being tasked by some space force academy to bring the prince of mars back home, who turns out to be his best friend, then the two steal an experimental ship that looks like a big white egg, a girl is involved, before it turns into them getting dragged into an incident involving a kidnapping of a prince from another galaxy masterminded by insect Klingons before finding out his parents are alive.
