lmk style for @nanolitore Monkiddo Art Contest #MonkiddoGRAM
Had school and finals right now so didn't really expect to finish it.
Probably could've just stuck with Pigsy, MK, and the other monkeys since missed out on celebrating their release. But decided to bring in the whole Monkie Kid crew lol šŸ™ˆ
Some dialogue planned before/created just nowā€¦
*MK fidgeting* Pigsy: Don't worry, son. It'll be fine.
*Macaque struggling* Mei: *pinches his ear* Hold still! Wukong: You gotta tie it just like this- Ne Zha: WUKONG STOP BOTHERING HIM
*Red Son and Tang going through the list* Tang: That's it for him. Double checkā€¦
*Sandy looking at stage plans* Mo: mrrow!
*Gold and Silver Demons lifting the sign* Demon Accountant: Pull harder!
No previous experience drawing lmk style so that was interesting. Definitely would like to finish it someday cause I need the practice for some other lmk art in future. Started out as sketches and line art but then just continued in sketches yesterday for rest of the lmk characters and tossed in the color roughs.
šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’
Sandy wasn't gonna be in it originally cause idk how to draw him but had an empty space and looked weird without him so drew in Mo and his head at 4 am. >_> Horned demons weren't gonna be in it too which kinda shows here but they were easier to draw than Sandy. Idk about Princess Iron Fan or DBK but that would definitely be a next time thing. Maybe Bai He too in Nano's crew outfit lol
šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’
I would need a bigger canvas than 1920 x 1080 for all of that. Stage is wood but color was just taken from Benched ref so looks kinda weird imo. I don't think making the stage floor black would've been a better choice though. There were gonna be more boxes, stage equipment, someone pushing the stage racks, running around- papers flying, just sweet chaos.
I'm not a theatre person though just fyi.
šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’
Anyways, had lots of fun with this and glad I could say that I participated lol šŸµ

Lego Monkie Kid: Bai-HeĀ Head canons
Tumblr media
- She works with her grandparentā€™s cat shelter (the cat she was trying to reach in her debut episode was a recent addition and runs away a lot)
- Her parents died in an accident when she was barely a toddler, and she doesnā€™t remember them. Her grandparents are very gentle and kind and love her dearly. When she went missing, they were beside themselves with worry and grief.
- Hobbies include sewing/needlework, ribbon-dancing, gymnastics, cooking/baking, scrapbooking and taking care of cats.
ā€“ She used to attend ribbon-dancing+ gymnastics classes before she was taken over by LBD. She begins attending them again with encouragement from MK+ Mei, who also join in. (Macaque tries to join her as well but he actually severely sucks at ribbon dancing) Nezha eventually drops in, citing that he is keeping an eye on her before it becomes an excuse to join in.
- She is sensitive to louder noises and intense light due to autism. She also has OCD ala intrusive thoughts.
- She gets along better with animals than humans. Bai-He often finds herself at Sandyā€™s with his army of therapy cats, which only grows with the cats she takes care of. Eventually she introduces Sandy to her grandparents and start taking care of even more cats.
- Mei is the best big sister to Bai-He and the two help one another branch out in what they experience and like. When the two first went out on a girlā€™s night, Mei took Bai-He to all her favorite places; but they overwhelmed Bai-He from the loud noises and flashing lights and she got sensory overload.
Mei learns to slow down and appreciate the things around her at a slower pace and Bai-He regains the courage to put herself out there.
- Bai-He and Redson are a bit more awkward around one another, considering that: 1. The two have little in common. 2. Redson doesnā€™t trust her after being possessed by LBD due to him becoming more protective of Mei and MK.
Then Bai-He starts trying to help him woo Mei and Redson starts to bond with her a bit more. He becomes aggressive in trying to boost her self-esteem (ā€œIf you could funnel half the time and energy you waste doubting yourself into becoming more than you are, youā€™d already be as strong as Noodle-boy!ā€)
- MK is someone Bai-He deeply admires and strives to emulate. Whether her feelings are platonic or romantic (just putting it out there, I ship it), she is someone who sees through MK and is able to help him be honest with his feelings rather than putting on a brave face while he helps her find confidence in herself despite the pain she went through. (Similar to Oscar and Rubyā€™s dynamic from RWBY+ Shirou and Sakuraā€™s dynamic from Fate StayNight: Heavenā€™s Feel)
- Bai-He is more of a caretaker to Macaque than a student at first: she is appalled at his dojoā€™s state and his own lack of hygiene, so the first week is spent with her aggressively cleaning (and Macaque is stuck in a circle she drew so he doesnā€™t make more of a mess) before yeeting said monkey into the washing machine.
When Macaque hisses and scratches or tries to intimidate her, Bai-He is unmoved and unphased and continues to care for him the same way she does any of the more feral and pissy cats that come to the shelter. She takes none of his sass, having already been exposed to him through LBD (which she remembers). He only becomes a teacher and/or dad figure to Bai-He after character development.
- Bai-He does suffer from nightmares and severe lack of self-esteem from being possessed for so long. She hates LBD with a passion and pushes herself to become stronger so that would never happen again, as well as toĀ ā€œearnā€ a place beside the people who saved her and the one she admires the most (MK)
This also serves to highlight that Macaqueā€™s teaching style worsens the above as Bai-He feels the need to make herself as strong as possible, even if it hurts her. And Macaque sees first-hand how he can negatively affect someone he cares for, and he changes how he teaches as a result.
- Bai-He incorporates her ribbon dancing into how she fights, using a rope dart and/or three-section staff. Eventually, she gains the diamond snare and uses it to great effect as a weapon.

I hear people talking about Sandy basically being a human shield and it gave me an idea with #79 for Silktea Angst. Huntsman notices some scars on Sandy's back and when he tells Huntsy he got them while protecting his friends it leads the spider demon to think, less then highly of team MK. (not that he thought highly of them to begin with) - Pixel Anon
Well I canā€™t argue with that! After all... I was hoping to expedite a chapter two of a certain fic I started...
How did you get that scar?
Huntsman went over his clothes one last time before returning back to the spider lair, making absolutely sure there was no left over cat hair clinging to his coat or pants. No one could know where he just was. No one could know anything about the conversation he and Sandy has just shared. No one could find out about...
A shudder wove its way up his back, born of concern and fear of being discovered. He couldnā€™t believe he told Sandy that much.
But he did. He hadn't told the other man every single thing, but if anyone knew he'd certainly have hell to pay. Something about Sandy, the warmth and openness he held despite what Huntsman had done, just drew all of it out of him. Maybe it was the fact that the warmth he exuded was such a stark contrast to the coldness added to his home since the Lady Bone Demon arrived.
He couldn't even blame it on the idea that the tea was secretly a truth serum. He'd told everything before he'd even taken that first sip.
And then that smile...
A thump resounded through his chest.
... oh.
"... oh no," Huntsman whispered to himself as he snuck back into his home, careful not to alert anyone to his presence and careful not to let his internal revelation stumble him as he felt that same odd thump in his chest as before. The one from when the other smiled at him, the second smile that was far softer than the ones he was greeted with before.
It was at that moment Huntsman knew... he may have messed up.
~
"You're back sooner than I expected," Sandy said nonchalantly as he opened his door at 5 past midnight the next evening. He gave him the other kind of smile, the one that was too wide and open for his liking, and welcomed him inside without question.
Huntsman hadn't needed to sneak out this time at least. He'd had time to plan, make sure that he covered his tracks properly like a good hunter did when going after their prey, and to come up with a reasonable explanation for his absence in the night. Given what they were planning behind the Lady Bone Demon's back that was easy enough.
While Syntax would be a better lead for finding certain things they need they needed him back in the lair to plan and build. Huntsman, on the other hand, could sneak and find and bring things back much easier than his more technologically impressed counterpart. And while he may have lied about where exactly he was going to hopefully get what he needed, Sandy...
He knew Sandy wasn't just muscles and tea, even if he had mocked him for it before. The boat he lived on was proof enough of that.
"I want to tell you more," he started slowly, sitting down on the couch and watching as the calico cat that had approached him last time stood and sat on the arm across from him. "And... Ask for your assistance."
Sandy paused what he was doing, tea cups only left partly filled for a moment before he continued as. "With what?"
"My Queen has a plan," Huntsman began, and this time he didn't hold anything back.
He told Sandy about what really happened at the festival. How he'd seen her true face after stealing the demon revealing mirror. How MK had snuck into their lair and had fought Spider Queen in shrunken form (he did not miss the shock and confusion and then a sad realization on Sandy's face at this revelation, but shouldn't he have known that already? it wasn't that long before he'd gone to retrieve the flower in the first place). How they had a plan, something that may just be enough to halt her provided they were able to complete it. How he and his two counterparts had looked at their plans and realized they may not have enough time on their own.
How Sandy's offer was probably one of the only things he could think of that could help them at this point. When they were quickly running out of time.
Sandy had brought him some tea half way through his explanation and said nothing the entire time. Just kept watching him and nodding his head to show he was listening.
"And now you know exactly the depths of the trouble we're in," Huntsman finished gravely. He held his empty cup in his hands, glowering down at the loose leaves in the bottom.
"I'm gonna be honest with you," Sandy started, swirling his own cup with a far off look on his face. "I didn't... I didn't know most of this. MK never told us about going into the sewers."
"What?" Huntsman asked incredulously, looking at the other in disbelief. "You can't be serious."
"I am!" Sandy insisted, face firm and worried. "Until last night I didn't even know it was the Lady Bone Demon you were working for! He hasn't told us any of this, just that someone was working with the Spider Queen and that's it. This explains his reaction to the game though..." He trailed off, looking deeper into his cup as if the tea would spill all of the secrets he needed to know.
"I thought heroes were supposed to be more honest than that." Huntsman scowled, jolting a bit as the calico climbed into his lap. At least this time he didn't have to worry about removing every cat hair, stray cats were common in the city and it wouldn't be odd for him to encounter one while out, though he would certainly still try.
"MK's a good kid," Sandy said softly, standing with a sigh and rubbing the back of his neck. "But... I think he thinks he has to deal with this on his own. To prove something."
"That's stupid."
This time Sandy leveled him with a glower, rough and harsh and not unlike the one he was met with during their fight. It made him freeze, a cold shudder running through him at the memory of the scenery around them he'd watched whiz past him as he ran.
The mountain that was more crescent moon hole than mountain now.
But that glower only lasted a moment, Sandy sighing and rubbing his face. He looked... tired. More tired than just from staying up late... had he slept after their last encounter?
"MK's not stupid," he defended as he sat back down. "But I can't deny that his choice to not tell us anything, no matter the reason, is foolish at best and dangerous at worst. I need to talk to him."
"Will he believe you figured all this out on your own?" Huntsman raised an eyebrow. The calico's claws dug into his legs as she, he was certain the cat was a she now, made herself comfortable.
"No. But I don't have to tell him you told me now if you want these two visits to remain a secret. I'll tell him you said something when I got the flower that was making me worry and that I put the pieces together over the last few days."
This made Huntsman pause himself, looking at Sandy with a narrowed gaze. "That's... shockingly generous of you."
"I know what wanting privacy feels like," Sandy said easily and something akin to a cold knife stuck itself in Huntsman's stomach as he remembered their fight once again. "...Thank you."
Again, this surprised Huntsman (there was a lot of that about this night it seemed). "For... what?"
"Telling me all this," Sandy said with a gesture of his arm and that damn smile. "You didn't have to. But you trusted me enough to do that anyway."
Trust... did Huntsman trust Sandy? Or was his just concerned enough for his Queen and his own life to push any distrust aside for the sake of their survival? Or was he just lonely with only a distracted queen, his old companion, and the newest addition who he already didn't see eye to eye with as regular company that didn't show frustration at his presence? So lonely that someone smiling at him so genuinely made his heart (yes, he was certain that was his heart now) thump harder than he ever remembered it doing in his life.
"... don't mention it," it what he chose to reply with instead of confronting any of those thoughts head on. Especially that last one.
He could unpack that later. Or never. Preferably never, but something told him that wasn't going to happen.
"Well!" Sandy suddenly announced, standing up and clapping his hands dramatically with that too wide smile back on his face. "I'm hungry! And I have just the perfect snack for this next batch of tea!"
Before Huntsman could argue that he wasn't hungry himself Sandy had turned around and was off into his kitchen, the sudden movement making the calico cat startle and jump off Huntsman's lap.
And then the spider demon was alone.
The temptation to take what he needed from the boat, wherever it may be hidden, and leave was strong. So strong. But he knew that if he did that the rest of his plan would be for nothing. He knew they needed more time and that wasn't something they could buy. Not anymore, not when the Lady Bone Demon had so much of what she needed already. But more help could make up for that time... and as much as he knew that his Queen would be furious with him for going behind her back, for seeking help from one of the Monkie Kid's friends of all people, he cared more about them living than her wrath at this moment.
Maybe he would have felt different if he was faced with that wrath head on, but he wasn't.
So instead, for whatever reason he told himself that wasn't just "sheer curiosity", he stood and followed the other man part way into the kitchen as quietly as he could manage and watch. And then he noticed something he'd seen before.
He couldnā€™t help but stare. He had noticed them during their first encounter on his boat, but hadnā€™t paid attention, really. Too focused on the conversation at hand and worrying about how this could all go horribly wrong. But now... now he couldnā€™t help but stare at Sandyā€™s back, wide and vast and muscled and scarred. Little nicks and wide chasms of slices and cuts and stabs littered his spine and shoulders, each of varying levels of age and healing. So much more than on his chest.
Sandy said he didnā€™t fight unless he had to, so... Huntsman had to ask.
"How did you get that scar?"
"Which one?" Sandy countered almost immediately, and Huntsman realized he may have been more aware of his surroundings when in his own home than Huntsman had given his credit for.
"Any of them. All of them. Take your pick."
He didn't look away from his back. Sandy didn't turn to face him.
"Most of them are old," Sandy started, the scars moving as his shoulders moved to prepare whatever it was he was making. "Pretty obvious some of them are recent. I told you I don't like to fight, but my friends..."
Sandy trailed off, most likely looking for the right words to explain. But Huntsman realized the implication long before he had the chance.
"Don't tell me you've been making yourself a meat shield for your friends," he said with a scowl. The idea of him doing that for people who were supposed to be heroes... for some reason he didn't like that at all.
"I wouldn't put it that way," Sandy countered, turning around with a plate of some kind of cup up sweet. "They don't really like it, but if my friends are in danger I want to protect them. Sometimes I forget I'm not invincible like other people."
"Wow, sounds like bad decisions are just a theme for us," Huntsman said under his breathe with a scowl, regretting saying that the second it left his mouth.
Sandy hadn't seemed to have heard him though, or if he did he made no indication that he had been offended by the statement. Which... seemed to be a pattern with the other. He didn't seem to get offended by much unless you were hurting his friends directly.
... Huntsman realized he had no idea what that felt like on either end.
But it struck him as odd, and foolish. His friends should be able to take care of themselves. He'd seen even the human scholar fight during the festival and in the celestial realm, he wasn't nearly as strong as everyone else but he put up a decent defense. For Sandy to jump in front of them to take a blow, and for them to allow him to do that...
He scowled even deeper than before. Had they no pride? No shame in letting someone else take the hits for them like that? Foolish indeed!
"You gonna sit back down?" Sandy asked after a moment, shocking Huntsman from his thoughts, gesturing to the couch. "You still haven't told me what you need."
"You sure you trust me enough to give it to me?" Huntsman asked as he sat back down, reaching to push away the plate of sweets from his side of the table. He had no interest in food at the moment.
He didn't get to do that, Sandy's hand reaching out and grabbing his wrist instead.
His hand was warm and firm and calloused from years of whatever it was he had done before and from working on tech. His fingers slipped under the cuff of his coat slightly and Huntsman could have sworn that the other man could feel how fast his heart had begun to beat in response.
"I told you before," Sandy started, pushing his hand back away from the plate. It was that Huntsman realized he had slipped something into his hand. "I don't trust you, not yet. But I offered you that second chance."
"Y-yeah," Huntsman stammered out as he wrist was let go of. He yanked it back, looking down at what was in his hand. Another tea bag and a different sweet. Store bought and wrapped. A simple fruit flavored hard candy, nothing more. But given to him all the same. Something he could choose to eat when he wanted... or not at all. Maybe that meant something, maybe it didn't.
The warmth that seemed to linger on his wrist felt like it did though.
"Now, what do you need? I can't guarantee I have it, but I'll do my best to help."
Huntsman's scowl remained on his face as he explained what materials they needed and what they were hoping to find to expedite a few certain old creations in their building of what they needed.
His scowl remained as Sandy handed him everything he needed, bidding him a safe return to his home with a yawn when he made his leave.
It remained as he rushed back to the lair, back to his Queen, to present the treasure trove they needed to get everything back on track. As Syntax looked at him in suspicion. As he returned to his own quarters holding his wrist, wanting to feel the same warmth around it that was now missing again. As he snuck a cup of hot water into his room and he dipped the tea bag into it and waited.
It only dissipated as he opened the hard candy, popping it into his mouth as he took a sip of the new tea.
The natural sweetness of the new tea tea mixed with the mouth punching sourness of the hard candy.
Huntsman couldn't help but smile, just a bit, as the flavors mingled in a way he knew many people would find unappealing. But he loved it. Sour and hard mixed with sweet and smooth.
The big guy was more insightful than he thought.

Lei's Story Summarised
(Disclaimer: I do not own all of these characters, Lei is mine, the rest are owned by Lego Monkie Kid. This is just a summary of Lei's story, not the full thing)
Chapter 1 : Untold
Basically, She was the student of Leigong (The god of thunder), and he set her 1 last assignment before she could become a sage, and that was to kill the inhabitants of Shi Shensan, Little did she know that the jade bracelets she was given as a gift would bind her to the mountain till she killed all of the god-killing demons that inhabited the mountain, with the power of Illusions. Slowly she spent her life in the caverns, killing as many of the beasts as she could, but the creatures were not called Godkillers for nothing, and continued to strike back, making it almost impossible.
One day she decided that she was fed up with the caves, and fought back against the illusions, finding it hard to keep them at bay, but keeping them away just enough to escape. She constantly battled illusions as she made her way into the city, before snapping in a alleyway near Pigsy's noodles. As the illusions took hold of her, MK after his shift went to place some leftovers from the restaurant in the trash, before hearing heavy breathing and deciding to investigate, nearing Lei. Lei slowly turned around, her eyes clouded with a green hint as she looked on at MK (She was experiencing a vision where she was facing a Godkiller), and slowly she drew lightning in the shape of her double bladed staff. But little did both of them know that Macaque was watching from the rooftop as the illusions took Lei, and before she struck MK with her lightning, Macaque instinctively leapt in the way, and took the blow. She paused, her visions glitching again, as she regained sight she saw what she did, and retreated in the shadows. Meanwhile MK took Macaque into the noodle shop so he could help them heal, Macaque, who was unconscious.
It took her 3 days before she came back to the alleyway, after living in the streets of the scraps of food she could find, before she came back to the alleyway looking for food. She was suddenly confronted with both Wukong, who was absolutely livid over what 'she had done', and MK. Before they attacked, Macaque leapt his way between them as Sun Wukong struck with his staff, but Lei sheltered him from the attack, and proceeded to take a defensive position Infront of him. And after a long explanation of why she 'attacked them' they decided to take her into the noodle shop and plan how to get the bracelets off her.
Wukong, who was still very suspicious of the monkey decided to take them to flower fruit mountain towards a certain platform, which when activated could un-bind powerful curses, but is very dangerous and requires a lot of power. Wukong (Being who Wukong is) decided to leave out the last p art, and told them that he could do all of it by himself, even though he knew that it would take a lot of effort. So Wukong, Lei, Macaque and MK went to Flower Fruit Mountain. Lei suddenly felt at home as soon as she took her first steps on the mountain, so they made their way to the platform and when Wukong tried to break the chains, it ended up activating them, which made her suddenly snap into her 'Illusive state', but before she could attack, Macaque and MK lent in and helped, finally breaking the chains, and unlocking her full power. With the chains of suddenly she was a lot more vibrant, happy and stronger, and when Sun Wukong told her that she should be off now, she agreed, but MK stopped Wukong in his tracks, and invited to stay with MK at Pigsy's noodles, which Wukong un-willingly agreed to.
Lei trailed along MK, and with the help of MK, Mei, and Redson (Who was more dragged into this), she was almost caught up on everything she missed when she was imprisoned in the mountain. And became close friends with the trio, But as this was happening, Macaque stuck around because of the free food and his injury's, along with the fact Wukong wanted MK to keep a close watch on the too monkeys. Lei, who had a interest in Macaque, and also a insatiable need to figure out more about his relationships with the members, follows him one night to the Shadow Play cinema, where upon entering the stage, Lei revealed herself. Macaque, who was almost impressed decided after a short conversation to show her the same shadow play he had shown MK with the best of his abilities, and after that Lei became very sympathetic for Macaque and grew closer as friends, They snuck out during night to go around and do fun things, one thing that made Lei the happiest was a place called 'The Pit' where the collector (You'll find out more about them later) hosts a fighting contest, along with a drinks bar and plenty of things for Lei to cause havoc with. They didn't notice but in the background a ancient evil brewed, and MK, who was picking up on some strange things, was ignored. But as soon as there was a report of a green fox like figure, that lurked in the sewers and scared off trespassers or lost people, they leapt to the case, with Tang recognising a rumour there was something calledĀ 'The book that was not yet written'Ā and there were two scrolls on it, and he knew little about their locations.
So when MK and the rest of the group went to goĀ stealĀ the scroll from the museum of Megapolis, a heavily guarded area. Wukong, Lei and Macaque (Who Wukong dragged along because he could not trust him with the others) Went to the club of a private collector, And when they entered they saw the scroll was hanging on a plaque above the stage, so they needed someone to distract the audience whilst the other two steal it. Lei without a question takes the stage and starts singing, which captivates the crowd so much, that they could not notice two very conspicuous monkeys, hanging off the ceiling, stealing a scroll from the top of the stage. And before anyone could notice they raced off, and reunited with the other three, which also encountered their fair deal of 'trouble' as they went. When Wukong and Macaque were studying the scrolls, Lei and MK went to investigate the sewers, which ended them captured by the Green Fox Spirit. And when Wukong and Macaque learnt of this, they knew they had to visit the celestial realm, where theĀ 'Book that was not yet written'Ā was located.
Macaque and Wukong knew it would have to be a joint effort and they would have to co-operate. When they got there, they were told by one of the gods which met them at the door, that the only visitors who were not gods or sages, had to be the gods or sages closest relatives. So Wukong suddenly input that Macaque was Wukongs husband, and managed to barely trick the god, who knew that they were probably up to no good, and decided that they should only stay one night. So they decided to join the gods feast, to see if they could find out anything about the scroll. But when they arrived, one of the gods, Guanyin, who sent Monkey King on the quest to the west in the first place, wasn't convinced that Wukong and Macaque were actually in a relationship, knowing that Wukong has actually killed Macaque before, and called this out to the gods. Which immediately followed with them believing her. Macaque, suddenly had a Idea and dragged Wukong to the centre stage, which took most of the gods, including Wukong himself, by utter surprise. Macaque, who knew of Wukongs stage fright, comforted him into the idea of a dance, like the dance fights they use to have when they were training. So they danced, combining their fighting skills with their little knowledge of dance, finished the dance and convinced most of the gods that they were actually husband and husband. But as they left the stage they saw a weak astral projection of Lei. They quickly left the dinner in a "polite" fashion, and Lei led them to the library, and to the section where they would find theĀ 'Book that was not yet written'.
After finding this, they hid it and decided to pack up and leave, but as they neared the gate they suddenly were overcome with this aromatic smell, and everything suddenly blacked out. They both awoke in a cell, separated by a wall, and tied down by rope, Suddenly they started to argue between each other, before falling quiet and Wukong finally apologises for what he did, and then Macaque joins in, both of them (For what feels like the first time in thousands of years) before Macaque suddenly falls silent. Wukong was confused at first before hearing whispering, and pausing, he... remembered the whispering... Suddenly he ripped through the ropes and barged out of the cell with a sudden strength, to find a shaded figure standing there, he told the Monkey King he knew what he was doing, and if the Jade Emperor knew he was with Macaque, or turned Macaque over for his various crimes, than he would be rewarded greatly. But whilst this was going on, the tightening spell that Tripitaka used on Sun Wukong was playing in the background, and unfortunately Macaque was wearing that exact headband. Wukong hesitated before whipping around and pummelling the shadowed figure into the wall, and grabbing Macaque and zipping out of there.
So later on they found their way to Pigsy's noodles, and got ready for a confrontation with the Green fox spirit, which they learnt was part of a story called Green fox, Red tiger, that was about two twin spirits, they were almost seen as the embodiment of betrayal and the only way to defeat them is to forget broken bonds and to trust each other. So with that, Wukong barely took any of that to heart, and devised the plan that they would sneak around the sewers, and if they need to they would split up, Wukong aiming to find MK and Macaque aiming for Lei. As they arrived, they found MK but just to late, they dragged him quickly into a intersection, but found themselves Infront of the spirit, but before they could go ahead and attack the spirit, Lei appeared, under the Spirits control, Eyes glowing with green radiance as she single handily dealt with the group. But Macaque remembered what he had learnt, and used her memories to free her, reminding her of the amazing time she spent with the group. But as she was brought back, the fox charged enough of a attack so they could deal with the three monkeys. She raised her misty tendrils to strike down on them, but before she could do anything MK rammed into her, weakening her at the price of MK's strength, with MK almost injured to the point of death, the 3 monkeys banded together and used their powers as one, allowing all of them to summon on each others powers as they worked almost like a hive mind. Bringing down the spirit they noticed that MK was running out of time so Wukong entombed him in a golden amber-like substance to keep his condition stable whilst they could think of something to do, so they brought him out to the light, Mei and Redson came rushing over. And that was when he decided to confess that he actually had a crush on MK the whole time, and was actually deeply sad that he was never able to tell them. But, suddenly the amber started to crack, and Tang stepped forewords, with Tripitaka guiding him as he directed the team on how they could save him. Using their powers much like they did to defeat the LBD they channelled their powers using tangs magic to help restore his physical form, with the adjustment this time he was a actual monkey. So afterwards, Macaque and Lei joined Sun Wukong on flower fruit mountain, and Mk, Mei, and Redson worked together to protect the city once again.

Stop Lying To Me (Monkie Kid Cursed AU fanfic)
I was super inspired by @winterpower98 's Cursed AU and the fanart @kitkat1003 did for it soooo... I kinda wrote my own interpretation of this revelatory scene in an anon and now I am rewriting it here as a fic. I'm going off all the info in the masterpost and the hints in tags combined with my own flair so I'm probably off in places, but hey I had fun writing it and I hope you all have fun reading it and that's what counts! (also I have never posted fanfic to Tumblr before so if the formatting is off I apologize.)
Warnings: mild but vague depictions of some nasty injuries. And angst.
EDIT: I forgot to add the Read More! I fixed that!

"You LIED to us."
Macaque looked up, eyes wide at the amount of venom that should not have been held in that voice. "Kid I-"
"You LIED TO US!" MK yelled, words tapering off with a disbelieving laugh as his tail swiped the air violently behind him. "You lied to Monkey King, to- to ME! You used me! Again! ... you used me again..."
Oh. He didn't realize his chest could hurt as much as it did when he heard that. That second again, soft but somehow like breaking porcelain against a hard surface. Macaque didn't realize he could hurt like that. He watched as MK slid down to sit on the ground, turning away from him to check on the still resting Monkey King. "Kid..."
"Was this your plan the whole time?" MK refused to turn, busying himself with checking on his mentor's injuries, injuries he was now fully aware were caused by his own claws thanks to Macaque's confession. "Pull a harmless 'prank', come up with an excuse to get us all away from everyone, pretend to start coming around, make me think you actually liked me this time?" He turned, teeth bared in a half smile half grimace. "Wait for me to start losing control so I could do the dirty work of getting revenge against Sun Wukong for you? What did you tell me last time? 'You are the weapon'? Is this what you wanted? A weapon!?"
There it was again, that pain in his chest. Macaque looked away, unable to keep eye contact with the kid. Not when he could see the shimmer of moisture starting at the corner of his eyes. Heaven, he was going soft! When had he started going soft? "It... I wanted..." Why were the words so hard now? Words were never hard before, he could let them flow like sweet honey at any time he pleased but now they stuck on his tongue like tar. "... yes."
A confirmation. The silence between them was thick, and from the edge of his vision he could see the tears as they finally started to roll down MK's face. "I thought you could change, Macaque."
"I am changing!" Macaque insisted, turning back to look at the younger with what he hoped with a gentle smile. "Yes, I had a plan originally, but it's changed! I don't want that anymore!" He took a step forward, not missing the flinch back and the way the kid curled into himself. When MK said nothing he took another step forward, slower this time, and another. "I'm going to stop this, WE are going to stop this, you won't be a weap-"
"Stop lying to me!" He had messed up. Gotten too close, too fast, pushed too far. When he reached for MK the kid swiped instinctively and his claws made contact, just barely, slicing into the side of Macaque's neck as he made to dodge just a bit too late in shock. Everything froze for a moment.
"I..." MK's eyes widened in horror as he looked at Mac's neck, then his hand. "No, I. I didn't. I didn't mean to. To hurt. I." His eyes flooded more red and as he looked to Macaque his breathing grew faster. He let out a sob. Then a yell. Then a scream.
"Shit!" Macaque took a quick few steps backward before stopping and going forward again, holding his hands up in front of him. "MK, MK listen to me please. You have to calm down ok? You just recovered from the last time, your body cannot handle another transformation without you being hurt!"
A step forward, a step back, scream growing strained and more red but this time from the lengthening claws digging into MK's own arms. The kid was trying to fight it, he could tell, but Macaque had messed up too much. He knew about the plan, that he had hurt Wukong, that he had been manipulated. He didn't know everything but he knew enough. And Mac knew MK wouldn't be able to stop it, even as tempered by exhaustion as it was.
So he did the only thing he could think of that wouldn't hurt him. He leapt forward and held MK. Knelt on the ground and wrapped the kid in his arms as tight as he could. The kid fought harder, both at the transformation and at the hold, grabbing Macaque's arms to pull them away and slicing his sleeves to ribbons and grabbing at his back when he failed.
Macaque did not let go. Not when those claws ripped through his clothes and drew more and more blood, not when MK smashed his forehead into his mouth and split his lip, not when the kid twisted and grabbed his arm and widened his own mouth and BIT, hard and furious and tearing into his bicep down to the bone. Not when the power radiating off the kid scared him more than he would ever admit. Macaque did not let go.Ā
"I'm not lying kid," he whispered. "Not anymore."
Eventually, too long for comfort, MK stopped fighting. It was like a switch was flipped. One second he was fighting and then next he just. Stopped. Had he not been breathing so hard Macaque would have sworn he has simply ceased entirely.Ā
They stayed like that for a moment, Macaque getting his own unsteady breathing under control before he gently maneuvered the kid to pick him up. He walked them back to where Wukong was fitfully resting, no doubt disturbed by the recent events, ignoring how his back was rapidly growing warm (but somehow cold) and wet and how one arm shook with effort it should not have needed. "You're gonna be ok Kid. You're gonna be ok. I promise."
"N.." So he wasn't completely drained. Yet. "No more... lying...?"
"Yeah. Yeah, no lying," Macaque said as he laid MK down, wincing as he turned in such a way that the worst of his injuries would be hidden away, if the kid was aware enough to see them that is. "Not about this, not anymore. I promise. Get some rest kid, you're gonna need it."
MK let out a halfhearted chuckle, nodding his head. "K. I... I won't. Give up on you yet." And with that he finally passed out.
Mac sat and watched, afraid to move lest the kid just suddenly transform. But he didn't. He rested and Macaque knew he had a lot to fix. He had gotten attached. Damn it all but he got attached to the kid.
That was the last thought he had as his body finally gave out, sending him sideways into the dirt. He thought he heard a yell, a voice more familiar to him than MK's, angry and scared sounding. Why was it scared? He was the Six Eared Macaque. He would be fine, he always was.
Even if that was potentially another lie.

So apparently in JTTW, Baije kept trying to get the monk to say the thing that would activate the torture headband? According to a post I just saw anyway. So I'd like to prompt something where Monkie Kid era Monkey King and Pigsy are arguing, and Monkey King brings that up, because it's kind of /messed up/. Preferably with prompts 25 or 47 because those seem vaguely fluffy and I don't want it to end /sad/ plz?
There are multiple times in the book (though it happened more often early on) where Zhu Bajie took full advantage of how much Tripitaka trusted him and made Wukongā€™s day miserable because of it, he isnā€™t the middle brother for nothing! The two have a better relationship as the book goes on, but as an eldest sibling I can tell you... even if you're on good terms later, sometimes you still remember the ways they used to mess with you... also I went overboard. Very overboard. This is really long.
"You have until the count of three to remove your arms from my person, or so help meā€¦!"/ ā€œTell me what you want me to do."
Things had been going so well... at least as well as could be expected given they had only really seen each other twice after 500 years of Sun Wukong vanishing.
Their first meeting, their initial reunion, wasn't so much a meeting and more "hey I'm here to help MK fight because things are actually really bad and I totally don't already know who two of you are" and then lots of saving the world without the time to talk to or call out his once elder brother before he ran off. Their second meeting was not long after, Wukong coming to check up on MK at the shop and "oh yeah uh I kinda know your boss Bud". Which. Nice job revealing his secret Wukong.
That was a very interesting conversation, explaining to MK that he was indeed The Zhu Bajie from the stories and yes Tang knew and no only Tang knew and no he did not want to talk about why this was kept secret. Then it devolved into MK insisting the two of them needed to hang out together and then questions about Sandy and then how it was so cool that his dad was friends with his mentor. The at first befuddled and then completely shocked expression on Wukong's face as he finally put two and two together made agreeing to MK's insistence so much easier.
Easier than being pogo'd to Flower Fruit Mountain and then being stuck there as MK ran off to do "hero stuff" with Mei, anyway. At first it was awkward, being shown around the mountain by a man who he had spent years of his life with and was clearly trying to not look uncomfortable at the time lost between them.
Then the monkeys attacked. Well. Less attacked, more jumped on Pigsy in sheer excitement. It only took a few seconds for Wukong to cackle and pull them off him with the care of a roughhouseing father. Some of them were just little ones barely new to the world (he didn't miss how much more careful Wukong was with them), but Pigsy recognized a few of the elder ones from the time he had come here to bring Wukong back after the... WBS and Wood Wolf... event.
He also didn't expect any of them to actually remember him or to see Wukong acting so positively parental in comparison to how he acted the last time he was here. It was strange, he knew the Monkey King could be caring and that he had changed on their journey and must have become different over their time apart, but this was a side he had never truely thought he would see from him ever before. And he couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that.
It was like a tension line was finally let slack. They didn't simply slide back into banter, but they were much more relaxed. Wukong pointed out where he had been training MK, showed him to where his house stood (Pigsy wondered if he ever tried to rebuild the palace that had burnt down long before he visited all those years ago, but did not dare to bring that up either). The house was much more modern than he had expected, even having full internet access and TV and a kitchen.
He would never tell anyone about the passionate 1 hour conversation they had about cooking when he realized Wukong picked it up as a hobby. No one will ever know their debate/rant on how to properly prepare dough for steaming and how so many people do it wrong.
At some point they ate a lunch Wukong had prepared, much better than Pigsy expected, and that's probably when it went downhill.
He'd made an offhanded joke about people who use too much seasoning. Wukong joked back, asking if his underseasoned cooking was up to Pigsy's standards. Pigsy had shoved the monkey on old reflex, not hard and not nearly enough to move him, saying if he wanted him to compliment his cooking he could have just asked like a good big brother.
That had started a friendly wrestling match, not unlike ones they had had before and that drew a crowed of monkeys excited to watch. That wrestling match turned more violent before Pigsy had realized it and somehow, some way, they started actually fighting. He yelled about how Wukong had no right to just make MK his sucessor. Wukong yelled about how he chose MK because he was the most qualified and capable person he found. Pigsy shot back that he barely knew him before training him and if he had even bothered to try knowing him he would have known he was Pigsy's kid and he was a shitty mentor. Wukong screamed at that, scaring off most of their audience with the volume, picking Pigsy up off the ground entirely with his arms pinned down.
"You take that back right now, Bajie!" Wukong hissed out in a dangerous tone, one Pigsy didn't give a single damn about heeding in his anger.
"You have until the count of three to remove your arms from my person, or so help me...!" Pigsy fought against Wukong's hold, scrambling for any kind of purchase he could get with his feet dangling off the ground.
"Or what, Bajie? What!? Are you going to find another fillet and tell MK the sutra for it this time!? Are you going to make him not trust me like you did Tripitaka!? ARE YOU!?"
The words made Pigsy stop, but it was Wukong's tone that made him try to turn back to look at him. He'd sounded angry before but now he sounded... genuinely upset. Not angry upset. Sad upset. "I wouldn't do that."
"You did before." Damn it. He really was sad upset...
"Yeah... Yeah, I did." Pigsy admitted with only slight hesitation as he looked at the ground beneath him. "I'm sorry. About how I acted back then. I made everything harder than needed. I made Master hurt you and you didn't deserve it. More often than I'd like to admit..." There was a beat of silence before he decided to take a chace with a question that would probably upset Wukong more. But he had to ask. "How... how painful was it?"
The two of them didn't move for a while, Pigsy just hanging limply until Wukong slowly leaned down and set his feet back on ground. His grip losened slighly, but he didn't let Pigsy go as he rested his forehead against the back of Pigsy's head with a sigh. "Very. Very painful. It... the way it... Bajie, I don't want to-"
"You don't have to," Pigsy interrupted, raising one of his arms now that he could move to grab and squeeze his wrist. "If 'very' is all you want to say, I get it. I'm sorry."
"You already said that."
"And I'll say it again because I mean it." Pigsy pulled away, Wukongā€™s grip weakened enough for him to without even the smallest fight, and turned around to face him.
He reached up, Wukong giving him an odd confused look as he placed his hands over and around his forehead. Realization dawned quickly and he tensed as Pigsy felt the almost imperceptible scars hidden under his well groomed fur. For the band to have been impactful enough to leave marks at all, let alone after all this time... some didn't feel like cuts or stretches, more like burns almost.
"I'm sorry too," Wukong said suddenly. "For being an ass. I wasn't exactly the greatest travel companion myself at times. And for... for disappearing."
"I already forgave ya for the stuff on the journey long ago," Pigsy said as he pulled his hands back and crossed his arms. "Couldn't sit right with myself if I held a grudge for what you did after the shit I pulled. But I appreciate the apology for up and vanishing. And uh, I'm sorry for calling you a shitty mentor."
"You better be!" Wukong chuckled, standing up straight with an awkward crooked smile. "But, you know, I could stand to be a better teacher. You weren't wrong when I said I donā€™t know enough about MK."
"I could tell you a few things," Pigsy offered. "Nothing personal, just like how we met and what his job is like. To make up for the. Everything."
"Hmn..." Wukong made a point to rub his chin in thought, clearly about to do something Pigsy wondered if they would both regret. "On one condition."
"Tell me what you want me to do," Pigsy sighed out, fully resigned for whatever the Monkey King was going to ask.
"Cook me dinner."
... that... was not what he expected at all. "That's it?"
"That's it!"
That wasn't near enough to make up for anything in Pigsy's mind... but if thatā€™s what Wukong wanted he supposed that was a start.
