the main reason i just can't get onboard with n!eyao is probably the same reason i'm never going to be able to get on with tgcf's beefle@f: the way their dynamic is described in the fanon discourse--which, to be clear, is something i would absolutely be feral for--is just. not. remotely reflective of what is actually going on in the source material.

but the essential components of what makes a ship interesting to me--the mutual interest in each other, the emotional attachment that makes them seek each other out simply because it is what they want to do, the text-based evidence of a relationship--that just... is not there. i wish it was! but it isn't.

The soft light of early morning filtered through the sheer curtains of your bedroom, casting a golden glow over the space. You were barely awake, caught in that blissful haze between sleep and consciousness, when you felt a tiny hand patting your face. “Mama?”

You opened your eyes slowly, finding Mabel’s wide, curious blue eyes staring back at you. Her unruly bedhead made her look even more adorable. “Mama,” she repeated insistently, her voice a little louder this time. Rafe stirred beside you, groaning softly as he rolled over and draped an arm over your waist, pulling you and Mabel closer.

“Miss Mabes, it’s too early for this,” he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. But Mabel wasn’t having it. “Mama!” she declared, wriggling her way into your arms and snuggling against your chest. You chuckled softly, running your fingers through her soft hair. “What’s up, baby?”

“Stay with Mama,” she murmured, her little arms wrapping around you tightly. It had been like this for the past week—Mabel clinging to you like a koala, refusing to let you out of her sight. Normally, she was Rafe’s shadow, following him around the house, insisting on helping him with everything from mowing the lawn to fixing her toys.

But now, she wanted nothing but her mama. Rafe, still half-asleep, cracked one eye open and gave Mabel a mock-offended look. “What happened to Daddy’s girl, huh? You ditching me?” Mabel buried her face in your chest, mumbling something unintelligible. “Oh, I see how it is,” Rafe teased, propping himself up on one elbow. “You’re leaving me for Mama. After everything we’ve been through?”

You laughed, gently stroking Mabel’s back. “Don’t take it personally, Rafe. She’s just going through a phase.” “A phase where I’m chopped liver,” he muttered, though the amused glint in his eyes betrayed his faux-pout. Mabel peeked up at him then, her expression softening. “No, Daddy,” she said, reaching out a hand to pat his cheek. “I still love you.”

Rafe melted instantly, his signature grin spreading across his face. “That’s more like it,” he said, leaning over to kiss her forehead. “But don’t forget, you were my girl first.” The rest of the day followed the same pattern. Mabel insisted on staying glued to your side, whether you were cooking breakfast, folding laundry, or simply sitting on the couch.

She held your hand tightly, looked up at you with those big blue eyes, and said, “Don’t go, Mama,” every time you tried to step away. By the time evening rolled around, you were feeling the weight of her newfound clinginess. Rafe, ever the doting husband and father, noticed your exhaustion and decided to step in.

“Alright, Mabel,” he announced, scooping her up as you cleaned up the remnants of dinner. “Daddy’s turn. Let Mama have a break.” “No!” Mabel protested, wriggling in his arms. “Mama stays!” Rafe raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “Mama needs to rest, sweetheart. Come on, let’s go read your favourite book. I’ll even do the funny voices.”

Mabel hesitated, her little brow furrowed in thought. Finally, she nodded, albeit reluctantly. “Thank you,” you mouthed to Rafe as he carried her off to the living room. An hour later, you found them snuggled together on the couch, Mabel fast asleep against Rafe’s chest. He looked up as you approached, a soft smile playing on his lips.

“See? She can’t resist Daddy forever,” he whispered, his hand gently stroking her back. You sat down beside him, resting your head on his shoulder. “You’re both pretty irresistible,” you admitted, your voice tinged with affection. Rafe kissed the top of your head, his voice low and warm. “You know, I don’t mind her being clingy with you. She gets it from me, after all.”

You laughed softly, your heart swelling with love for the two of them. As you sat there, the quiet hum of the evening surrounding you, you realised that no matter whose phase it was—Mama’s or Daddy’s girl—your little family was your greatest joy. And in that moment, with Mabel nestled against Rafe and his arm wrapped around you, everything felt perfect.

a/n: i know im so bad with updating now, life is insane for me but i promise ill be trying to get more done, this is bad and short but 🥲🩷

The house was quiet, it was another rainy day in London but the sound was almost enough to lull you to sleep along with little 3 week old Amelia Norris. The absolute apple of both yours and Lando’s eyes, she was the most special gift to your family.

Everyday around four in the afternoon Amelia would go down for another nap, though mostly all she did was eat and sleep, Lando never missed an afternoon nap time with his little angel.

Lando had been gone all day doing press and taking a few meetings with the team, and it was nearing four now, but you weren’t worried.

Lando never missed her afternoon nap.

Amelia was changed into a comfy onesie, her soft sleep pillow nestled in the middle of your king sized mattress. Though you didn’t co-sleep, these naps were an exception, mainly because you stayed awake and let the father daughter duo have their rest.

“I’m here! I made it!” came Lando’s voice softly as he came into the bedroom, a soft smile on his face seeing you just finishing putting her sleeper on.

“Perfect timing baby, as usual..”

Before picking up his little girl he came to you, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to your lips, his hand rubbing up and down your back.

“How was today Lan?”

“Long, tiring and boring..just wanted to be here with my girls all day”

Smiling you handed him his sweatpants to change into

“Well now you’re here and can spend the rest of the day loving on us hmm?”

Lando couldn’t agree more, once he’d gotten rid of his dirty clothes from the day he pulled on his sweatpants and picked up the now sleeping Amelia.

“Hi my angel…daddy missed you so much”

Seeing the Brit cuddle her to his chest was enough to make you swoon, he was the best dad to her, so gentle and protective, a daddy’s girl she’d be there was no doubt about it.

Laying her softly down on her sleep pillow he pulled a little quilt over her before getting comfy on his side of the bed, one arm laying over the pillow, careful not to disturb the sleeping baby.

After getting into your own comfortable clothes you joined the two, of them in bed, leaning your back against the head board as you pulled your book from the bedside table. It was almost comical how quickly Lando could fall asleep, but it made you smile.

“Sleep well my loves…” your voice softly filled the space around you.

Lando had never missed a nap time, and he didn’t plan to anytime soon.

Hello people, I wrote that fic for @alphaofdarkness because a while ago ( years ago) She drew Baebae's and Kosmo's puppies and she told me that she hopped that someone would write a fic about them, that she waited long but yet, no one did it! SO I NEEDED TO DO IT---

(I took a lot of time to finally write that so idk if anyone wrote it in the meantime but anyways, I hope you like it!)

Pidge sat cross-legged on her bed, scrolling through data on her computer while Baebae, her dog, lay at her feet. It had been a week since the Paladins returned to Earth to prepare for their next mission with the Atlas. It was a quiet evening at the Holt residence when she noticed something peculiar about her furry friend....

"Hey, Baebae," she mused, scratching the dog behind her ears. "You've been eating a bit more, huh?" It wasn't an accusation, just an observation.

But as she continued to pet her dog, she couldn't ignore the subtle bump beneath Baebae's fur. Her dog's tummy was definitely more prominent than usual. It puzzled her. Baebae hadn't been around any male dogs for months. How on Earth—or in space, for that matter—had she ended up pregnant?

Concerned and mystified, Pidge decided to consult with her family about her discovery. A trip to the vet was in order to confirm her suspicion, and she took her family and Baebae along for the visit. The vet's examination confirmed that Baebae was indeed expecting puppies, much to everyone's amazement.

As they pondered the enigma of Baebae's pregnancy, the days passed. Soon, Pidge's dog gave birth to a litter of adorable puppies that, to everyone's surprise, bore a striking resemblance to Keith's space wolf.

Quickly, Keith got called to see...

"What is i-... HO! wow..." Keith stopped himself in front of the small balls of fur next to Baebae.

"Tell me that you think the same as me..." Pidge showed the puppies with a finger.

"Kosmo is literally the father!.." He answered, not quitting his eyes from them...

"So... What are we supposed to do with them now?"

"Well-" Keith couldn't finish his answer as the puppies teleported away.

That was it, they lost the puppies...

"OK, Kosmo is LITERALLY the father...".

"WE HAVE TO FIND THEM, KEITH!" she grabbed his arm and pulled his face toward hers.

At this gesture, he blushed, "huh, yeah... Let's find them and then figure out what to do..."

They rushed through the Garrison's hallways, searching for any sign of a puppy...

"Should we split up? Or maybe we should stay together?"

"Splitting up sounds good..." As Keith said that, they heard a strange noise coming from a nearby closet... They opened it, and inside, they found a small blue and fluffy dog crawling on the ground...

"One! Now gotta find the four others..." She picked the puppy up, and then turned toward Keith.

He quickly nodded...

So they searched... And searched... But found only 3 puppies... Where was the last one?

They kept looking for it but it was in vain... No blue puppy around...

So they decided to go back to the room where Baebae was peacefully resting, and finally, they found it! The last one stayed here all along! Cuddling with his mother... At the sight of the last puppy, both Keith and Pidge felt relief on their shoulders... They placed the puppies next to Baebae, hoping that they would not teleport away again...

"They will disappear again... That's for sure... Now, what do we do? Is there something that you do with Kosmo for him to not teleport?" Pidge sighed as she sat next to Baebae and patted her head.

"No, nothing... I let Kosmo do whatever he wants... I always did..."

"Well, we have to find a way..."

As they were both thinking of a solution, Kosmo finally teleported into the room...

He walked toward Baebae and licked the tip of her nose very quickly, which got her to yawn, take a look at him, and sleep again....

He then took a look at his five puppies and gave them a few sniffs before actually licking their backs, as if he was recognizing that they were his kids...

"Keith, look, the droll mark that he left on the puppies' backs is different than the one he left on Baebae's nose... The one on Baebae is totally invisible, while the one on the puppies' backs is glittery and a bit blue... Maybe that's how he marks the fact that they are his kids... HO! maybe, that's how he does it for the babies to not teleport everywhere!"

Keith blinked twice and turned toward the babies, "hey, you're right! Maybe we should stay and see what they do? Like... You know... Make sure that they don't teleport again?"

At this exact moment, one of the puppies teleported away... But then, Kosmo disappeared too, and a few seconds later, he was back with the baby and placed it back next to Baebae...

"OK! I get it now! The lick on the back was a way for him to find them whenever they teleport! Awesome!"

Keith smiled and patted the space wolf, "you're doing a great job, buddy."

Keith and Pidge stayed in the room for a while, discussing their options but also taking pictures of the puppies cuddling with their parents because GOSH, who wouldn't capture that sight of cuteness?!

"They're a beautiful family," Pidge sighed.

"They really are."

"I wish I can form a family as beautiful as this one, one day."

"Shouldn't be hard... You're amazing..." He turned toward her.

She blushed, "thanks."
