here’s why I think the raven cycle characters are so compelling

they have flaws.

real ones.

Gansey is a pompous, condescending asshole sometimes.

Ronan pretends he doesn’t care about anything and is a headstrong idiot sometimes.

Adam gets angry and does stupid, impulsive shit sometimes.

Noah is scary and refuses to communicate sometimes.

Blue is rude and vain sometimes.

But despite all that, they are still good people at heart.

Gansey wears teal polos and boat shoes and has an electric, contagious love for life that other people admire him for.

Ronan, despite his grumbling, loves his friends and would do anything for them, and he is always, always honest.

Adam is fiercely independent, he knows what he wants and he will do anything to get it.

Noah is so good at finding the little things in life and delighting over them (glitter!!).

Blue cares so much about the environment and never hesitates to call others on their bullshit.

They are flawed. They fuck up. But they are also, at heart, good people. They love, and they hurt, and they’re so wildly, freely themselves. Them being allowed to make mistakes and then fix it is what makes them such good characters.

It’s why they seem to come right out of the pages, as if they’re there in front of you.

Because they are human.
