Wilson started talking about having kids and House decided he has to stop it immediately before this impulsive disaster of a man do another stupid thing. He has to supervise him just as much as the other one, because the moment you loose sight of him, he's already in some deep shit

Daddy's Girl.
Step Dad! Leon Kennedy X F! Reader (smut)
Tumblr media
A/N: Don't like? Don't read! Either way, READ THE TAGS. I'm starting to get pretty weird on this blog, so expect more stuff like this! A girl has to feed her fetishes, so feel free to tag along with me and enjoy what my sick little mind thinks up. Thanks for reading!

As far as your mother was concerned, your father was worth less than the sum of his parts. He was fleeting idea, a mere concept in both of your lives ever since you could remember. Sure, you remembered a few odd Christmases with a surplus of gifts, all tagged "from Daddy," and a few daddy-daughter dates here and there, but that wasn't enough to make up for his true absence.
It wasn't a surprise when your mom eventually left him, scooping you up with her. Just you and her, and the rare postcard that your sperm-donor decided to ship off once a year or so. It was good enough then when it was just you two finding your way in the world, but it went downhill when your mom found a new boy toy.
Leon.
He wasn't a bad guy, by any means. Wasn't pushy, didn't make you call him "dad" or try to impose his will onto you, but his presence made the absence of your real father that much more obvious. You tried to ignore him for the most part, letting your mom have her little relationship with him to tide her over.
But then they got married. Leon became a more permanent fixture. That was no bueno.
You toughened it out, being cordial with him until you finally hit that mark of independence: sweet, sweet 18! The big one-eight, your ticket to freedom!
Everything was planned out for your big day. Mom and Leon made a cake, presents were given, and all birthday wishes granted, except for one. What you really wanted, was for your dad to show up for just this one day, just this once, to have him and not just his money.
You could never get that lucky, though, and that thought was cemented in your head when you found yourself waiting for him outside of your house. The driveway was empty, not even your mom's car was out there, she still had to head off to work. The world couldn't pause for a birthday girl, it seemed.
Stepping back inside to the house, you slammed the door behind you, practically throwing yourself onto the leather couch in the living room. The tears started faster than you could contain them, and quite honestly, you didn't want to contain them. It was your party, damn it, and you would cry if you wanted to!
"You okay, kid? I heard the door-"
Fuck. Him.
Leon's heavy footsteps made their way down the stairs, leading to his place in front of you. "(Y/N), are you crying?"
You sucked back a breath of air, steadying yourself as much as you could before speaking.
"No, 'm not, just-- go, just leave me alone." You let your face drop into your hands, staining your sleeves with tears.
Leon, being just the right amount of pushy, took a steps next to you a placed his hand on your shoulder. "Can we talk about it? I mean, I probably know what it is, but we could- you could say whatever you need to say." His face cringed a bit at his own words, feeling like he was already fucking this up. "No judgement."
You kept your face covered but obliged, knowing that talking about it, even with Leon, would make you feel a little better.
"My dad isn't here. He's been promising for weeks that he'd show, but he isn't here."
"Oh."
Your step-dad bit his lip trying to figure out how to make you feel better. He knew you weren't exactly fond of him, but he felt a twinge of responsibility.
"Fuck 'em," Leon finally decided on. "He's a liar and you don't need him. So, fuck 'em. Why would you want a deadbeat to bring you down on your special day?"
"Because, he's my dad," you said, like it was the most obvious thing. He was right, of course, but the absence still hurt you.
"No dad would stand up a sweet girl like you on her birthday. You only turn 18 once. A real dad wouldn't miss a birthday this monumental for anything. What's he worth, if he can't keep to his word?"
"I guess nothing." You sat up straighter, trying to make yourself calm down. "D'ya think it's, like, my fault? Why doesn't he want to see me?"
He suddenly got really serious, making his grip on your shoulder firm.
"Not at all. You are a wonderful girl. Your mom thinks so, and so do I. You are brilliantly smart, kind, responsible, sweet, gorgeous-- you're perfect and if that scumbag can't see that, then he's beyond saving."
He loosened his grip, letting his hand fall down to your lap, a bit close to the crotch of your jeans. You didn't look down, trying to convince yourself it was an accident, but he didn't move his hand either.
His other hand came up to your face, holding your cheek and to your own surprise, you leaned into his hand. His big, calloused, confronting hand.
Fuck him.
Something snapped in you when he leaned in for a kiss. God, it was wrong, so wrong, but you were so conflicted. Is this what a father's love really felt like? Hell if you knew, this was close enough in your book.
"Hmph-! Leon..." You pulled away from the kiss, wiping at your mouth roughly to get rid of the salvia strings connecting the both of you. "This is wrong, this isn't okay, my mom-"
"Is not here."
He placed another kiss on your lips, this one chaste and sweet, so unlike the passionate one you shared before.
"Just you and me. I know your dad isn't here, but I am. Let me make up for him, baby." His whispers pricked goosebumps over your body, lighting a fire deep in you. "Let daddy love you. Can I show you?"
His big hand looked nearly comical resting against the small button of your jeans, pawing desperately at them. So, so, so wrong. So fucked up, so not okay, so....
"Yes," you said breathily. "Okay, I-I want you to show me. Just be careful please, 'cause.." you trailed off a bit, feeling the pop of your pants opening.
Leon yanked them down, tossing them away quickly. "Fuck, that's good," he said, pressing his tongue flatly on your mound through your panties.
The fabric slowly grew a wet patch that clung to you, getting sticky. He placed a soft kiss on your clothed clit, then rested his head on your soft thigh.
"Anybody ever touch you here?" he asked, running a finger over your pussy.
You softly shook your head, mumbling out a 'no.'
"Mm, more for daddy, yeah? Gonna make you feel so good," he said, slipping your panties to the slide. His mouth made quick work, tongue already gliding up and down on your clit.
Your face was already twisting up in pleasure, eyebrows knitting together tightly.
"That's cute," he blew cool air over your cunt, keeping his eyes on your face. "You like it? My mouth all over you like this?"
"Mhm, please- don't stop. I wanna feel it again."
You reached your hand out to hold his head, wanting to push it down before bringing your hand back nervously.
"That's right, push my head down if you want. 'M here to make you feel good, so you use me. Just a wet mouth for you today, sweet girl."
You nodded eagerly, running your hands through his blond hair and taking taking firm purchase of a section of it. Your hands greedily pushed his face into your cunt. The feeling of his nose rubbing against your clit while his tongue dug into your tight hole made you feel fuzzy inside.
Leon was so vulgar with his noises; he almost enjoyed it more than you were. Slurp after slurp came from his mouth, accompanied by a moan or two while he tried to get himself off by palming himself through his pants.
The sight of him was just as good as the feeling of him. You had never been taken care of so thoroughly. Leon was opening a whole new world to you, a world where you could be selfish and take, because your daddy would provide, no questions asked.
"Lemme try somethin', yeah, baby?"
He shook your hand off and spat directly on your clit, spreading the fat glob with his fingers. Tight, fast circles were traced over your bud, back and forth. It felt like hypnosis, the way he reeled your body in closer to an orgasm.
"Daddy, please, 'm gonna cum," you said, face flushing of all color. "Your mouth, want your mouth," you shot out quickly, already obsessed with the feeling of his hot mouth tonguing you down.
He obliged, of course. How could he turn his princess down? Leon's lips again wrapped around your clit, sucking on the bud like it gave him life.
You came soon after. You seized and convulsed and the feeling of his eyes taking you in made the waves of pleasure crash down that much harder over your body.
"If he knew what a sweet fucking pussy you had," Leon said, licking a final stripe over it, "he'd never wanna leave."
"Wha--?"
"I said," Leon pulled away from your pussy, lifting his head to your ear, "that even your dad would wanna be tongue deep in your sweet, tight cunt. But it's all mine, isn't it?"
The sound of his belt unbuckling made you wetter, if that was possible, but it also sent a sense of realization through you.
You had your pussy in your step dad's mouth. And you liked it. And now, you would let him fuck you. And you would love it.
Tumblr media
"I know you're a virgin, but fuck, baby, you're so tight." His voice was grumbly and strained while he tried to push into you. "Maybe I need to eat you up a little more," he teased.
"No, I need you inside, wanna feel it now." You let yourself go completely. Here you were, whining like a brat while Leon's fat cock stretched you. The pain with sharp, but immediately worth it. He fit inside perfectly, easily hitting your sensitive spots with a few thrusts.
He hissed, feeling you clamp down on his length. "Shh, come on, gotta get used to it baby. Don't want me to cum too quick, do you?"
"Yes, I do," you whined, desperate to know for certain that you were making him feel good too.
Leon's laugh softly rang in your ears. "No, I wanna make it worth your time. Wish I could take you all night long," he muttered, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips.
He swallowed all of your moans, slipping his tongue into your mouth while he rocked into you. He tried to find a rhythm, but he was too lost in pleasure to be neat about it.
He'd fuck you nice and orderly another day, but for now? He just wanted to feel you gush around him, and feel your cunt get sloppy while he took you.
Your breathless moans caught his attention. He found the angle that made you get oldest and stuck with it, lifting your hips up with his hands so he could piston into your g-spot.
"Oh my god, right there! That feels-- oh my god."
"I know, baby," he said, thumbs digging into your hipbones. "Feels good f'me too. You're so good for daddy."
Your heart, and cunt, pounded the more he spoke. You were close and you knew it, you just needed him to keep talking you through it. "I am?"
"Yes, baby, you're perfect. Daddy's perfect little princess, taking my cock so good." His cock twitched, so he clenched his jaw, refusing to cum before you did. "You know what good girls get to do?"
"Hmph?" Your face was red and hot, mouth hanging open while he continued to fuck into your spongey walls.
"They cum hard on daddy's cock. Can you do that for me? Cum all on me?" He traced his hand over your cheek, letting his thumb land on your bottom lip while he egged you on.
Your body had never reacted faster, immediately creaming on his length. Your hole milked him, each contraction gripping his length and sucking the cum right out of him.
Leon let a shaky breath out before pulling out of you, scooping the mixture of your cum in his fingers. He rubbed it between two fingers for a moment and popped it into his mouth, groaning at the taste.
You came down from your own high and looked over at him, feeling guilt pull at your chest.
"Leon."
"Hm?"
"What about mom? She's gonna freak if she ever finds out. Did we fuck up? What's gonna--"
"Hey," he said, shushing you with his finger over your lips. "She's not gonna find out and she doesn't need to know. I might be married to her, and I get why you're stressed, but what we have is different."
He pulled his finger off of your mouth and pressed a kiss to your forehead cheekily. "You're daddy's girl. That makes you special."

So here’s a unique twist of a common prompt. Danny is the son of Bruce Wayne, whoever his mother is is up to you. However, Danny wants nothing to do with Bruce or his family for whatever reason, whether it’s because Damian treated him badly as a child or maybe he just doesn’t like how Bruce operates. Either way, they meet and the meeting ends badly. What do you think?
There are actually a lot of reasons why Danny might not want to stay with Bruce or stay away from Bruce. There is, of course, the usual "Danny has billionaire trauma" route that works for some arguments (although not all (but I'll leave that ramble for another time)). You could always go with Danny and Damian didn't get along (if we're doing a Demon Siblings AU). But I think the route that goes best is just that... Danny has a lot of Trauma™ and he's not ready to join another family.
Unfortunately those kinds of AUs would probably be the sadder ones because that can mean that he has problems and/or is cut off from Jazz too. Because as much as I love Jazz, she was never the bastion of perfection and older sisterhood that we sometimes like to paint her as. She tried, just like her parents did, and sometimes she failed. ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ
In those AUs Danny is probably trying to live on his own. Maybe he's emancipated, maybe he's turned 18 already (I do have a fic idea where Danny moves out of the house after turning 18 despite not graduating yet, which is a thing you can do. Plenty of kids' birthdays pass before June graduation in the U.S., after all.) He's just started to stand on his own two feet and probably move past the neglect, both physical and emotional, that came with living with the Fentons.
Enter Bruce. Bruce, who has abandonment issues and is one paranoid motherclucker (and yes, that was intentional), who has just found out he has an unknown son from either a past relationship or one-night stand. Of course he's going to want to know more about Danny and catch up on all the time he lost with Danny. And the thing about Bruce is that sometimes he acts like a bad father purely because he doesn't know how to communicate his feelings and does all these things that come off as insensitive and/or overbearing.
Sometimes Danny might be able to make it work. But depending on the downturn his life might have taken... sometimes he can't. And for a Danny that might have just gotten that hard-earned independence... it likely won't be pretty.
---
Danny doesn't know what to make of Bruce Wayne. The man seems nice... enough. He's a bit too excitable, tries a little too hard. It's clear as day that he's trying, much more than Danny's adoptive parents could ever bother to sometimes, but it's... Danny would appreciate it more if Bruce just gave up.
He's happy to see that Bruce didn't willingly give Danny up. No word yet on Danny's bio mom, but at least he's got that going for him. He could do without Bruce's meaningful attempts to introduce him to the rest of the family or find out more about him.
Danny absentmindedly tugs at his collar. He really wishes he'd just turned Sam down when he had the chance. Tucker had balked when she extended the invitation out to him. Usually Danny would be her first choice, since he had some semblance of High Society Table Manners™ which usually Sam wouldn't give a shit about, but well, Tucker had gone once, got embarrassed to hell and back, and pretty much sworn off against it ever since.
He'd only moved out from Fenton Works three weeks ago. Danny could understand why she didn't want to ask him while he got settled in.
But well, she was his friend. And with the risk of her parents trying to openly marry her off to some rich guy (as opposed to subtly trying to marry her off, like they were doing now), Danny had taken one for the team and agreed.
If he knew this was going to happen, he would have just stayed home and figured out how to cook scrambled fucking eggs.
"I'm not very comfortable with this conversation right now, Mr. Wayne," Danny said plainly to the man. They were off in a side room at this point, tucked away from the rest of the crowd that would usually gawk at them otherwise. Already he'd turned heads when people recognized him as familiar.
To be honest though, even if they hadn't gone to a more secluded room, Danny still would have told it to the man straight.
"Oh, is it because your friend isn't here? I told you you're more than welcome to-" Bruce started again but Danny cut him off with a sigh.
"That's not the problem here, Mr. Wayne," Danny deadpanned. "I don't know why you're expecting me to be on board so quickly but I- I just turned eighteen. I have an apartment, I have a job. I know I'm still a kid in your eyes but I haven't been your kid in- ever. No matter what any paternity test ends up saying, which I still haven't agreed to by the way-"
"You're not even willing to try?" Bruce asked in return, like he'd been struck across the face.
It seemed genuine enough, like he was sincerely hurt by Danny's standoffish attitude. And Danny would feel guilty if he weren't so tired right now. He'd been tired for the past four years and he didn't need this on top of it all as some twisted cherry on top of the shitty whipped cream that was his life.
"No, I'm not," Danny told the man, straightforward. People had said no to Bruce before, right? Surely, someone had.
He began to doubt when Bruce just stared at him, dumbfounded. Danny didn't let the silence linger because he didn't linger, just moved on and left the side room. He could feel Bruce's eyes on him as he went, and then some of the other Waynes' eyes on him when he came into view. He ignored all of them and tried to find Sam.
Maybe her parents would even be willing to let him go back to the hotel room, after the huge 'scene' he'd just caused.

Hi I'm brazilian, sorry if my english is wrong. But I can order a yan with a sweet wizard boy where he lives in a house made of candy and attracts people for him to devour, I don't know if you've read the story of the brother grimms, of Hansel and Gretel (or Br: João e Maria). How about this concept?
I'm so sorry but I struggled with this one so bad, I made so many versions of this but always fucked up at the candy house part 💀 (I couldn't imagine how to write the reader getting inside, or even finding it even though it was supposed to be the most obvious part lmao) It's very short 👉👈
Also lmao your English is great boo, welcome to the candy store, thank you for sharing with me this idea! It was actually pretty funny how challenging I thought it was X'D
TW/Tags: a little sadistic/more dehumanizing yandere // mentions of: weird/abusive family dynamics; cannibalism; drugging; kidnapping; gore; severed body parts; the usual yandereness although without the soft/lovey fluff I usually write // delusional (he is as sweet as someone who who eats humans could be- I want to write more but I kept messing up so much I died ⚰️)

Pumpkin Pie [Yandere!M!Cannibal!Wizard/Witch x GN!Reader - Scenario (?)]:
You were having tea inside a colorful house, your vision was very blurry and your ears felt clogged, and to make things harder to understand there was a heavy and pretty mixed up smell of sweets and candies, overwhelming your nostrils… You don't remember when or how you got in, or why, but the tea was nice so you kept drinking.
You were having a nice time with a stranger who you don't really remember the name of… He wore a weird suit for your town's weather, actually it was just off in general… But you thought it looked nice…
He smiled at you blissfully, clearly having a good time… You felt like you were having a good time as well… You like to think so.
Okay, to be honest you couldn't feel a single thing, your legs were numb and you felt like your head was way too heavy to move it around. You barely felt awake at all. So you just assumed it was probably a strange dream, after all you didn't know this man, right?!
He was talking to you… You didn't understand what he was saying, the smell of something tasty was being baked… Pumpkin pie maybe…? How long have you gone without one of those? Your father didn't like how much sugar you ate, so you were restricted to only a few sweets… But he probably wouldn't be mad about one slice of pumpkin pie, right?
The man patted your head endearingly as he smiled at you, he seemed to not care much about how you weren't paying attention at all… You thought that was sweet of him considering you were always considered an airhead by your family.
… Speaking of them- Shouldn't you go home soon? I mean, this is very pleasant and all but you don't remember how long you've been here and the things that happened beforehand feel like a blur… Your family had a curfew and you didn't want to get in trouble again for breaking it.
Ah, but what could you do? You were just so curious about the forest beside the mansion. You secretly hoped to see fairies or anything magical whenever you went there, ah, how wonderful it was to escape your responsibilities as middle child for at least a few moments.
Sure, your family was wealthy, a lot better than most people in town, but you wished you didn't have to stay inside all day… Your older siblings would get to work with the family mine business while your younger siblings got to play and study all day long, and you? You were sort of the second servant of the house, there were many expectations placed on you and not enough attention to your interests and dreams…
You already miss Ms. Bell, she is such a nice lady and sadly your only friend in a big almost always empty mansion. Actually, you're not even all that bothered about being a "second servant" because you actually like helping her out.
Ah, sweet Bell… She always told you to be careful out in the woods, people would often go missing, especially people who have zero expertise about finding their way in and out… Ms. Bell, always so caring and wise… If only your family listened to you more like she does…!
While you kept drifting into different topics inside your own head, your vision was starting to come back to you and your ears seemed to get better after a while… Your head was still very heavy and it aches as you look around and notice- This guy has a weird taste for decor! Seriously, there's candy everywhere!! Actually… Was everything MADE out of candy?! What the hell?
Wait, you can hear humming, you can hear him better now, he is singing a nice tune as he gets up and takes care of the pie in his oven.
"You're finally awake, or at least more awake now! I'm sorry for what happened before, the dose I gave you was probably too strong, I guess it is just a habit of mine. Please forgive me." The man said in a joyful way, smiling at you like he did before… His voice was familiar but nothing to really help you remember.
"I guess I haven't introduced myself properly, then again I didn't think you would make it this far- I don't know why but I couldn't bring myself to let you go to waste. You have a very sweet smell and I couldn't help but wonder what it would taste like." He acts as if what he said was a compliment, and you strangely enough nod your head, feeling a little dazed still.
Yeah… but, what was he talking about? This conversation was weird and it was starting to worry you a little bit.
He brought to the table you were sitting on his pie so it could cool down while you two chatted, and filled the table with a plate of muffins and another of small bread. They looked incredible!
"You can eat how many you like! Consider yourself my guest, it's actually very nice to have someone over after such a long time…" He sat down in front of you and started to pour you more tea.
"I think it's clear to see I don't really do this, well, my name is Zirick, and this is my house! Don't worry, I'm not mad about what you did earlier, it happens all the time! And of course, my house was pretty much made for it, ya know?"
You didn't understand what he meant, so you told him your name and apologized for not only not remembering what you did but also for doing something that would offend him.
"Oh Pumpkin, it's okay! It's my fault your head is as empty as my cup of tea- My spell was supposed to just knock you out but I guess it was a little too strong and in return made you lose a few memories! But don't worry it'll come back eventually…"
"What I'm talking about is that you stumbled around my land and… Well, after seeing my house you couldn't help but want to take a bite off my walls! But I fixed them already so that's fine."
What? He knocked you out with a spell?? For eating his walls?! That entire sentence didn't make sense to you, you would never randomly eat someone's walls!! Even if they were delicious and even if you… do remember snacking on them… a little bit…
Ugh your mind was a flurry of thoughts, it was like different ingredients being violently mixed together and not mixing well! (Heh, cake comparison! You sure he would have loved to hear that one).
Well, invading someone's property like that was not a good thing but you weren't sure if knocking them with a spell or two was a good way to deal with an intruder… Still, you apologized and said you were going to find a way to pay him for his sweet wall. He waved you off laughing to himself.
"Oh but human money is worthless to me, and besides you have already paid me- Oh! Speaking of which, I just have to make sure this pie tastes good- I would offer you but I don't think it would taste, little Pumpkin."
He started to cut himself a slice… It was very red and meaty for a "pumpkin" pie, yet it smelled like one to you… And to him too.
Your senses were starting to get to you, you started to feel worried as the man was staring at you expectantly, you looked around and saw a peppermint clock on the wall, it marked 10 and you were sure by the darkness outside the window it meant 10p.m. You tried to get up and excuse yourself, after all you needed to get home soon or your family would end up getting mad at you.
But before you could actually walk away, you fell hard into the ground. You noticed you weren't feeling your legs properly, that's because one of them was missing.
"Don't roll away now, you're my guest today, remember? And besides, how far can you go without help, silly?" Zirick came to your aid very quickly and helped you get back to the chair immediately.
You tried to push him away, you bit him, you slapped him and even tried to kick him with one leg- It didn't work, he still knew how to tranquilize you into going back to your dreamland…
"Shh… Ah, how sad. All my guests get like this… You're a little fiesty for such a sweet Pumpkin, but I somehow can't get enough of your company, perhaps when you wake we can start again…"
He licked his dirty, bloodied fork eagerly. Normally he would have turned you into a massive pie but he wasn't THAT hungry and surely just a leg would be enough, and you were adorable walking around in the woods like a little adventure! He couldn't help but trick you into coming closer and eating a piece of his house- He needed a reason to get you inside of course, an eye for an eye, as they would say.
He isn't sure how he'll go about this but he likes your company, especially when you're too dazed to have any inhibitions or sense of privacy when talking to him! He could hear you sleepily mumble for hours, you were just so sweet to talk to, and to taste!

This fic is not so much a story, more like "Jonah sees an opportunity to give an exposé on Luke, doesn't realize he's giving Leo an exposé on himself."
There's no sickness or whump in this.
@its-a-goddamn-heartbreak this one is for you <3
----------
"You're quiet tonight," Jonah said, spreading himself on the bed with a sigh, "should I be worried?"
"Uhm?"
"I said you're quiet," Jon repeated, then cupped Leo's face, fully expecting to meet feverish skin. Instead he only got his boyfriend's normal temperature and an amused smile in return.
"I'm not sick, silly, I'm just thinking."
"Never good," Jonah teased, closing the space between them and kissing him. Leo let out a muffled chuckle, cupping Jonah's face with one hand and forcing them apart.
"Actually..."
"Yeah?" Jonah said, planting a bunch of little kisses on Leo's neck, biting his earlobe, "what are you thinking about?"
"Lucas," Leo said, causing Jonah to finally pull back, with a big frown on.
"Atwood?" Jonah scoffed, venom dripping from his voice, "why the fuck are you thinking about Lucas in bed?!"
"I'm not thinking about him in bed, I'm thinking about Luke while I happen to be in bed," Leo teased him, barely suppressing the glee in his voice at Jon's jealous reaction, "it's not like that."
"Uh," Jonah raised his eyebrows, unamused, "then fucking elaborate?"
"I was at his place yesterday," Leo explained, voice gaining a serious tone, "you know, keeping him some company, he's down bad."
"Yeah, I'm aware you and Vince are doing a suic- are keeping him company," Jonah quickly corrected himself, "he'll live."
Leo glared at him, "will you let me finish?"
"Fine," Jonah grumbled, rolling off of him, "so? You were at Atwood's place and?"
"And he mentioned his mom and he mentioned you..." Leo explained, turning on the bed so he could plant his elbow on the mattress and his cheek on his hand, "and I was just thinking about how you two met and stuff. None of you ever talk about it."
Jonah seemed taken back, the jealousy vanishing, "Oh... Well, you never asked," he shrugged, getting comfortable in the bed, "what do you want to know?"
Leo perked up, he clearly hadn't been expecting such an open and inviting reaction. Everything, "he said his mom would be disappointed in him... I told him no, of course, but like- Would she?"
Jonah thought about it for a second, then nodded, "probably," he shrugged, "yeah, I think so."
"That's a horrible thing to say," Leo pouted, frowning, "are you just being a dick or-"
"Lucas forgot, but Veronica was not a good mom. She was a good person sure, a really great senator, but she wasn't a good mom until she died," Jonah said dryly and noticed Leo seemed taken back. He let out a sigh, "look I'm not trying to be a dick, just to answer you honestly."
Leo nodded, frowning at him, "what do you mean when you say that..? Did you know her? I always thought you met in boarding school..."
Jonah let out a scoff, "I wish- No, our parents were friends. His stupid father got all his procedures with my father. We lived in the same gated community, literally a street away from each other... I hated him. My parents pushed so hard for us to be friends, but we weren't compatible. I especially hated Lucas when our parents would use me as a placeholder for a babysitter. I'd have plans and then suddenly Luke was in my house and I wasn't allowed to go out, because I had a guest."
Leo giggled, eyes sparkling with surprise, "I'd never have guessed, Jon, I thought you guys only met way later..."
"No, we were born in the same hospital," Jonah rolled his eyes, "couldn't get rid of him didn't matter how hard I tried. So you can say I knew his parents, alright. His mom was nice, don't take me the wrong way. Very polite, very busy. Never home, but nice... And head over heels in love with that asshole."
"Luke's dad?" Leo gossiped, scooting closer and Jonah bit down a smile at the clear curiosity in his boyfriend's face. It wasn't a secret that Leo was, or used to be before meeting Luke, a Kit Howard fan, "how was he?"
"Amazing," Jonah grinned, flicking a hair away from Leo's eyes, "magnetic, funny, you know? At nine I really thought he was the coolest shit. Except he micromanaged everything from afar. Was always touring, I don't think he was ever there for one of Luke's birthday. I don't think Veronica was there either, to be honest. But Kit? Even from across the fucking world, he could control everything. He knew everything always."
"Sounds... A little scary."
"He was the direct opposite of my father. Jasper was always home, his clinic was in our property, very discreet for the celebrities... He was always home and I don't think he ever knew who I was. Had no idea if I was home or in the boarding school that week. Treated me like a little friend he had around the house, when he accidentally bumped my way. He only remembered he had a son when he had to preach about how much of a better parent he was than Jackie," he tried to keep the bitterness off his voice, but failed, "now Kit, in the other hand, was never home, but he knew everything. He knew if Lucas got in a fight, he knew what were Lucas' plans, his girlfriends, his grades, his meal plan... Luke was like the fucking bubble kid."
"I can see why you hated him," Leo giggled, "it sounds like it'd be exhausting to be around him."
"It was!" Jonah agreed, glad the blonde got his point, "so then Jackie fucked off. I turned eleven and she packed her bags and fucked off, so Jasper enrolled me in the boarding school. Probably thinking he could turn my room into another surgery room... And I thought I was free of Lucas Atwood."
"But no," Leo seemed amused and Jon shook his head, defeated.
"Nope. Next day, Lucas fucking Atwood is in my class."
"That must've been amazing," Leo said sarcastically, stealing a kiss and Jonah scoffed, biting his lip and pulling back.
"It was hell," he groaned, "but we made do. We had different friend groups and only spoke when we had to go home and it was fine... Lucas was, well, this Lucas you know."
"So cool?"
"If you say so," Jonah bumped their noses together, "but he was popular and friendly... And then one weekend he went home. It wasn't a long weekend, I remember I thought it was weird he was the only kid sent home."
"Oh."
"And he didn't come back for two weeks. When he came back he was... A mess. He never picked a fight up until then, suddenly he was this angry teenager and it was very weird..."
"Because of his mom..."
"Yeah. That summer we went back home and I didn't know- No one knew. I got into a really nasty fight with Lucas, I don't remember why, but I remember we got the police called on us. He fucked tackled me in the middle of a restaurant, while we were out with our parents."
"Jon..."
"Must've insulted his mom," Jonah snorted, but there was no humor, "probably. He missed two months of the boarding school that year, I have no idea how he even graduated. Was flying home at every opportunity, missing a bunch of classes..."
"Then...?"
"Then about a week before we graduated, Jasper called me."
"Your dad?"
"Yeah," Jonah opened a small sad smile, "Veronica had died in her house that evening, Luke was there. I wasn't even aware he wasn't in the school... I had to go back for the funeral. Luke was... Fucking catatonic, I didn't see him cry, nothing."
"Jonah..." Leo sat up, looking teary eyed himself, "that's awful."
Jon shrugged, "we went back to school right after the funeral. Kit Howard showed up at the school, flashed some smiles, signed some pictures and suddenly Lucas was gonna graduate like the rest of us. At the day of graduation, Luke was wasted. I remember he could barely walk a straight line."
"Lucas doesn't-"
"Doesn't drink?" Jonah scoffed, "you know that's not true, you were there two months ago when he decided chugging vodka was a good idea. Well, imagine that, but worse."
"Then what happened?"
"We graduated. None of our parents showed up, obviously. We went back home. I barely saw him all break. Then I got into college, heard Luke took a gap year."
"He did?"
"Yeah," Jonah nodded, "and then when I think I'm finally rid of Lucas Atwood, he joins the football team I just joined. In my own fucking college."
"You love him," Leo snorted, lying back down, "I didn't realize how close you two were. You were... There every step of the way."
"I didn't want to be there," Jonah pointed out, but couldn't deny it. He was close with Luke, for better or for worse, they had shared all the important moments of their lives, "but I guess."
Leo didn't comment that Jon hadn't denied loving Lucas, instead he just snuggled closer, kissing him, "okay now... can we stop the depressing background and make out?"
Jonah let out a scoff in his mouth, "that was my initial plan!"

Brummie, what a ride already! I'm so excited for the next parts, can't wait to see what you have in mind for this one!
Her mom is pretty rude, to so say the least. Saying that she's being punished for her (Y/N)'s father's sins... I mean, what a horrible thing to hear as a young girl. Although her mom is rather harsh, I like how her little brother and herself are so done with it. I love how she has that kind of attitude. Also Arthur and Tommy laughing at her when she has to apologize to the priest had me laughing as well, even more when Polly told them to shut up 😂
The part where they met outside of the church after the service made me melt. Just their little conversation was so cute, it really portrayed their young love very well. " Have you seen yourself?" you smirked looking down at his outfit "Think your Aunt needs to shorten those" HELLO HOW ADORABLE AND FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME. I immediately had this picture in mind of a young Tommy with trousers way too long for him and it made me smile. I love how you added this because it's so fitting for the way they lived.
" Polly was furious said he had sinned enough for the whole house and we were all damned to hell if we didn't come today" Polly didn't know they were damned to hell anyway in the future 👀
" He's got a map this time. Come on it will be fun" Oh so since the lanky git has a map, things will be fine? I just knew this was going to be bad 😂 Also poor little John, getting kicked in the shin by his older brother. I laughed But also poor Polly, it's really a full time job to keep the brothers in order, all my respect goes to her 😂
The little banter and flirting between (Y/N) and Tommy was so CUTE, you captured it so well and it gave me such a warm feeling. Really adorable 😩
The way Arthur had the map of some house in London really got me. Who's idea was it to just trust him and expect things to go right? 😂 It's so in character for a young Arthur and that makes it even funnier. I mean he casually fed the dog sprouts, what did he expect? I'd bark at him too 😂
(Y/N) and Tommy locked together in the small storage room was such a clever and sweet idea to get them together. Once they realize they're so close to each other, you can almost feel their nerves. Both not really knowing what to do. I was rooting for Tommy to do something but I didn't actually expected him to do so! " Fuck it" he said as he cupped your cheeks crashing his lips onto yours. I GOT SO EXCITED, this was so cute and I loved how you mentioned that their first kiss was messy, it was really fitting as well!
" Oh and you're not? You really think I believed that ridiculous story you told us all last summer about how you gave Irene five orgasms in ten minutes" This is SUCH a Tommy thing to say. Lets just say he had to grow into this reputation? 👀🤭
The embarassement when Arthur found both of them had me giggling, especially Arthur's annoying brotherly comments topped it off.
The part where they're laying in bed together, all cuddled up was so heartwarming and then the beautiful gift she got him. It was so thoughtful. 🥺
But then you thought it would be funny to break our hearts with a 10 year time jump. It left me wondering what happened "tonight you would sleep alone as regret over decisions you had made weighed down your already broken heart." Did they broke up shortly before this? What happened? Why did they broke up? Did she do something? Did he rather want to be with the barmaid?
Quickly closing it Tommy clutched it tightly in his hand as he looked back at you. For a brief moment that's all he did as if the memories of that night had suddenly come flooding back to him. Is it the same pocket watch she got him? Because that's probably double as painful.
" You not going to wish me a happy birthday then?" Tommy called out as he watched you walk away. Love how you used this as a parallel with ten years earlier. It really shows how time has changed and how their relationship has changed.
I LOVE how your last line refers back to the title!
You portrayed the younger Shelby's so well in this one, so in character. It put the biggest smile on my face! BRUMMIE YOU GOT ME HOOKED. Your writing is amazing and I'm so excited for the next part!

"We're bloody late again!" your mother muttered under her breath as she hurried up the church steps holding onto her hat from the bitter January wind whilst you are your little brother George, lovingly known as Georgie walked behind her. "Ten minutes until we leave I said" she huffed turning around, scowling at you as you rolled your eyes in response. "Ten minutes! In the time it took for you to put your dress on I had swept the porch and gotten your brother ready. Why did you give me such an unruly child?" she said looking up to the heavens expecting some sort of response. "Out all hours gallivanting about with those Shelby boys, never listening to a word I say. I'm being punished aren't I, for the sins of her father...the bloody fool he was, drinking himself to an early grave, leaving me here to fend for myself with two kids..." she carried on as you held your little brothers hand, a small sigh leaving his mouth as he looked up at you, shaking his head at your mother's relentless rambling. " Y/N let me look at you. Bloody hell child, you look a state!" she frowned as she turned to face you at the top of the steps.
"Can you just stop" you said trying to move her hands away as she pushed your hair back behind your ears, pinching your cheeks to give them a rosy glow. "Look at your dress..." she huffed as she straightened the bottom out, pulling at the frilly pink fabric whilst your little brother reached up to open the church door. "Stay still!" she said as you started fidgeting away from her hands, her overbearing mothering making you feel like you was eight years old again.
" For god's sake I'm not a kid!" you replied rather loudly when the doors fully opened and everyone in their seats turned around to look at the commotion. "Shit" you mumbled under your breath as you looked to the sea of eyes now staring back at you, the loud bang of the church door slamming against the brick wall startling you as your little brother giggled in amusement.
" Bloody Walk Y/N" your mother said through gritted teeth behind you as she took her and George's hat off. Smiling graciously left to right at the people seated along the outer rows your mother politely mouthed small hellos and good mornings as all three of you made your way down the aisle, her normal vocabulary filled with a plethora of her favourite profanities not once leaving her lips. Turning your head you quickly spotted Tommy sitting next to his family with a huge grin on his face, loving every second of the embarrassment he knew you was enduring. As the sound of your heels on the stone floor echoed loudly through the church, your entrance now the focus point of everyone's attention, you finally reached the alter with the Reverend stood beside it. You could almost feel the laughter Tommy and Arthur were holding back as your mother pushed you forward to bow. With a grunt leaving your throat you lowered your head, a small mischievous glint in your eye at the sudden, yet stupid idea to prove to your mother how unruly of a child you really was.
" Forgive me father for I have sinned, it has been mere hours since I last pissed my mother off..." You said dramatically as your mother's eyes widened in embarrassment a gasp leaving her mouth as she grabbed you by the arm and span you back around, all while apologising profusely to the Priest now shaking his head at her. Oh the shame, the humiliation, she would never live this down. The gossip she would have to endure for months in the women's wash house was a fair consolation for her making you wear this god awful dress you proudly thought to yourself as you walked to find a seat. Sighing the Reverend lowered his eye as he turned the page of his sermon, longing to be appointed somewhere, anywhere out of Small Heath. No number of hail Mary's could save this sinful town. As you walked down the aisle the sudden sound of Tommy and Arthur laughing had you biting your inner cheek holding back your own amusement as you watched Polly snap her head in their direction.
" Shut up" Polly whispered as she reached over hitting each of them in the chest. "Bloody kids" she mouthed sympathetically to your mother as you all walked by.
" Girlfriend finally made it" Arthur whispered in Tommy's ear, knowing full well how smitten he was with you.
" Shes not my girlfriend, shut it" he muttered under his breath as you sent him a small wave which he quickly returned.
" Hi ya" Arthur laughed mocking him.
" Fuck off Arthur" Tommy replied as he elbowed him in the ribs leaving him wincing in pain.
" I'll let you have that one baby brother" he laughed rubbing his side.
" No fucking swearing in church!" Polly said quietly through gritted teeth as she hit the back of Tommy's head. It was always an eventful service when the Shelby's attended, which made you wonder what they had done to have their Aunt force them this time.
Walking out into the fresh air, free from the stuffy confines of the church you pushed back your hair behind your shoulders folding your arms as you faced the sun. Closing your eyes you sighed as the rays of light beamed onto your skin. With summer still a long way off you was enjoying the rare event in which the sun broke through the smoke filled skies of Small Heath. That was until you felt the warmth disappear and a large shadow take it's place. Opening your eyes you was met with Tommy Shelby standing right in front of you, a cigarette precariously hanging on the corner of his mouth, grinning from ear to ear.
" Get out the way you're blocking the sun" you said as you pushed him to the side closing your eyes again.
" Hmm, you are looking rather pasty"
" Thanks Thomas, you really know how to compliment a lady" you said taking the cigarette out his mouth as you walked over to sit on the brick wall just outside the church.
"Lady?" Tommy laughed as he sent you a cheeky smile." Nice dress by the way. You look like a flower girl"
" Shut up" you said playfully hitting his arm in response, hating everything about the overly embroidered puffy dress you were begrudgingly wearing. " Have you seen yourself?" you smirked looking down at his outfit "Think your Aunt needs to shorten those" you laughed as you nodded to the ends of his trousers bunched up around his boots.
" They're Arthur's hand-me-downs, the lanky git" he said kicking a stone on the ground that you both watched roll into the road.
" So what did you do this time to end up here on a Sunday morning?" You asked as you turned your head to face him.
" Aunt Pol found out Arthur stole one of the candelabras from the Reverends study. Convinced himself it was solid gold, you should have seen his face when we melted it down in Charlie's yard and it was copper" Tommy laughed as he looked back at you. " Polly was furious said he had sinned enough for the whole house and we were all damned to hell if we didn't come today" he explained further as his eyes lingered on your face, watching the way your nose scrunched up as you laughed, a sight he never got tired of. " So you coming later?" he asked leaning into you as he took his cigarette now stained with pink lipstick back from between your fingers, not that he minded.
" No absolutely not. Do you not remember the last time we followed one of Arthur's genius ideas?" you answered folding your arms having already made your mind up.
" He's got a map this time. Come on it will be fun" he said nudging his arm against yours.
" A map to what?"
" To where this rich fuck has all his liquor stored"
"Can I come?" John said running up to you both after overhearing the conversation, poking his brothers knee with a stick in attempt to get his attention which Tommy quickly put a stop to by giving him a kick in the shin.
" No, fuck off " Tommy said pushing him away from in front of him as John stormed off crying in search of his Aunt. " So how about it? "
" Fine, but only because it's your birthday tomorrow" you said giving in as you both smiled to eachother. "But this better be fool proof. I can't risk getting in trouble with my mum again, she's a few breaths away from kicking me out"
" That's alright, you can come live with me" he said winking to you as you looked up at him through your lashes, blushing a darker shade of pink than your dress." We'll come by to get you at eleven, don't be late ok? "
" I'm never late" you responded as Tommy rolled his eyes flicking his cigarette onto the ground. If there was one thing he had learnt over the years it was that you was always late.
" Thomas Michael Shelby! " Polly shouted as she stormed over to you both, dragging John with her by the arm.
"Shit. Right I'm off" Tommy said quickly pecking your cheek as he jumped over the wall running away from his Aunt. Bringing your hand up to your face you pressed your fingers to your skin, a smile dancing on your lips as you turned around to watch Tommy run into the back alleys of Small Heath, fleeing from the fury coming his way. Thomas Michael Shelby your best friend, your partner in crime and also the boy you had been head over heels for as long as you could remember. What a sorry story your limited love life had already been, endlessly pining for a boy you had convinced yourself only saw you as a friend, desperately hoping he felt the same.
It was just after noon when you Tommy and Arthur made your way over the wooden fencing onto the large mansions land. Having never once left the city limits in all of your eighteen years of life you was taken aback by the sheer size of the house in front of you. Surrounded by luscious green grass, rows of trees adorning its drive way, you was sure it was something only seen in films, a far cry from the mud and dirt of Small Heath.
" Give me the map" Tommy said as Arthur handed it to him whilst he looked over the brick wall separating you and the owner who was outside sitting in a garden chair.
"Arthur he has a dog. A mean looking thing" you said as Tommy stood beside you squinting at the map in his hand.
"Yeh well, he would have still been out with that dog hunting, but you were late" Tommy interjected with a smile on his face, having been right about your constant tardiness.
"Don't get your knickers in a twist Y/N, I've been coming here every day for the past week feeding him leftovers, he likes me. He won't make a peep " Arthur said trying to reassure you as you rolled your eyes at him knowing anything the eldest Shelby said was not to be trusted and far from the actual truth.
" Jesus Christ Arthur" Tommy said throwing the map at his brothers chest. " This is a fucking map for a house in London!"
" Ay?" Arthur said as he straightened it out in front of him. " Where's it say that? " he asked as Tommy snatched it back from him pointing at the words "London" written right underneath the name of the house.
" Well how was I supposed to bloody know. They should have put it at the very top"
" It's in fucking capitals Arthur, how can you not..."
" Right I'm going home" you said as the two brothers continued to argue. As always Arthur's ideas were never properly thought out, often getting you in trouble more than anything else.
" Wait Y/N no, come on stay" Tommy said as he looked back to his older brother widening his eyes in gesture to help him convince you not to leave.
" Y/N " Arthur said as he put his arm around your shoulder. " We're at the back entrance. He probably keeps it down in the basement, it won't be far. You're the only one small enough to shimmy through the window to open the lock on the other side. Come on, dont let us down, it's Tom's birthday tomorrow. "
" Fine. But if I put another ladder in my stockings you're paying for a new pair" you said pointing to him as Arthur placed a wooden crate below the window for you to stand on.
"Atta girl" Arthur said as he turned his head around winking to Tommy as you climbed through the window, quickly making in through to the other side. Pushing past his brother, Tommy went to open the door when the dog Arthur promised wouldn't bark suddenly started to do exactly that.
" Hey! Who's there?" the owner said as you all ran into the house. " Get 'em boy" he shouted as his dog came charging round the corner into the building.
" Fucking traitor! After all the food I gave you" Arthur shouted as you all ran down the hall, making your way up to the second level.
" What did you feed him with?" you asked breathlessly as you ran beside them, Tommy's hand resting on your back making sure you didn't get left behind.
"Sprouts"
"Sprouts!" You and Tommy both shouted looking back at him.
" It's all we had"
" No wonder he bloody hates you" Tommy said as all three of you came to a stop behind a wall waiting for a maid to walk by.
" Sniff them out" the owner said as you heard the sound of the dogs nails clicking on the wooden floorboards, getting closer by the second.
" Shiiit, run! Hide! Arthur giggled as you legged it down one of the second floor corridors, Tommy quickly pulling you into a small storage room to the side as Arthur continued to run down the hall. Breathless, you both looked up at eachother as a fit of laughs left your lips. Bringing his finger up to his mouth Tommy gestured for you to be quiet as the sound of the owner walking along the corridor quickly brought your giggles to a stop. Taking in your surroundings you suddenly realised how close you were to eachother. Cardboard boxes were stacked as high as the ceiling all around you, there was barely enough space for one person let alone two.
" Is he gone?" you whispered to which Tommy nodded, his eyes looking over you as he too started to realise how close you were to one another." You're taking all the space" you said trying to free yourself from the uncomfortable position you was in.
" Y/N my backs pushed up against the door. I don't have any more room to move" he said as you huffed in response moving your arm that was stuck between you to the side. Silence fell upon the small room as you continued to fidget in place whilst Tommy cleared his throat, his eyes darting between you and the surrounding boxes.
" What? Why do you keep looking at me like that" you said with a thrown on your face.
" I'm not looking at you like anything" Tommy replied as he quickly glanced away. With your focus now elsewhere, Tommy's eyes drifted down to both of your bodies pressed up against eachother, biting his inner cheek in attempt to rid himself of all the thoughts going through his mind. Taking in every delicate feature of your face, Tommy felt his heart quicken as he continued to stare down at you. God you were beautiful, he had been wanting to tell you those very words for years, wanted to ask you out, tell you how he felt. But unlike his old brother who seemed to have endless amounts of confidence when it came to girls, Tommy never found the courage to make a move. Instead he begrudgingly tormented himself, watching all the boys of Small Heath try their luck with you.
" You're doing it again, stop it!" you said squinting your eyes as you looked up to see him still staring down at you. " You're making me nervous"
" What else am I supposed to look at, you're right in front of me " he said with a small sigh. Just ask her you idiot, he thought to himself as he peered at you in the corner of his eye.
" Y/N erm, I was wondering..." he started to say when you grabbed his hand your eyes widening in a panic.
" Shh. Did you hear that?" You said as you looked behind him to the door.
" Its just a window blowing open" he replied as he glanced down at your hand still holding onto his. Throwing his head back Tommy shook his head, frustrated that the moment he had finally found the courage to ask you out you had cut him off. Bringing his eyes back down to look at you, Tommy took a deep breath. If he couldn't say how he felt he would show it. What was the worse that could happen?
" Fuck it" he said as he cupped your cheeks crashing his lips onto yours. For a brief moment you resisted taken by surprise at Tommy's unexpected move until your whole body finally relaxed and you quickly melted into the kiss. There was no technique to it, wet, messy, all tongues and teeth. But as your lips interlocked you felt a flutter of butterflies fill your stomach, your hands finding their way to his shoulders as Tommy enthusiastically pushed you back the few centimeters remaining between you and the wall behind you.
" Owh" you said as your head hit the wall, the thump loud enough for anyone to hear.
" Shit, sorry" Tommy said as a small giggle escaped your mouth at his overly keen display. Pressing your lips back onto his the kiss was smoother, a small whimper leaving your throat as his tongue brushed over yours. Moaning, Tommy's hand dropped from your waist to your leg as his fingers travelled under you skirt grazing over your suspenders. Things were getting heated, very heated.
" Wait, Tommy I've, i'm a.."
" Fuck sorry, I wasn't trying to" Tommy awkwardly said cutting you and himself off. " Wait, you're a Virgin?" he asked with a small smile etched on the corner of his lips his brows slightly raised.
" Why do you look so surprised? " you answered back, your whole face scrunched up in annoyance.
" No nothing. It's just I didn't think you was...you know" he replied unable to formulate his own words.
" Oh and you're not? You really think I believed that ridiculous story you told us all last summer about how you gave Irene five orgasms in ten minutes" you scoffed with a laugh as Tommy's cheeks suddenly went a crimson shade of red, his hands dropping from your waist.
" Jesus...thanks Y/N" Tommy said looking away with a huff unable to physically move away from the embarrassment surrounding him.
" Slightly exaggerated don't you think? " you giggled as Tommy looked back at you, his hands now on his hips.
" You done?" he huffed as you bit your bottom lip trying to hold back the laugh that was seconds away from escaping. As Tommy pressed his lips back onto yours the small giggle unable to contain itself finally broke free.
" Stop it, I'm trying to concentrate" he said smiling into your lips as he continued to kiss you, his hands roaming over the curves of your body when the door suddenly flew open.
" Oi oi, what's going on in here then? " Arthur said grinning at you both as you let go of eachother. Rolling your eyes you walked out the small room pushing past him the box of whisky and leg of ham he was holding. "Get to second base baby brother?" Arthur sniggered as Tommy thumped him in the arm.
" Fuck off Arthur" Tommy pouted leaving the room and his older brother in fits of laughter. Both barely out the door, your eyes widened as the owner and his dog turned the corner.
" You little bastards. I've seen your faces. I know who you are! You're those trouble making Shelby boys. And look, you've brought your little whore with you, that dead drunk idiot's daughter. How did you petty little thieves make it out of Small Heath, steal a car?"
" Hey! Nobody gets to call her a whore but us" Arthur warned the owner pointing his finger at him as Tommy protectively pushed you behind him. Now in a stand-off between the owner and his drooling dog growling at you, you watched as he unclasped the large metal chain from the dogs collar.
" Go on boy get 'em!" he commanded when Tommy grabbed the leg of ham out the crate in Arthur's arms, launching it in the dog's direction.
" My bloody ham!" Arthur said, furious his dinner had been tossed to the the very dog he felt had betrayed him.
" Run!" Tommy shouted as you all turned around.
" I'm calling the police!"
" Thanks for the whisky old man" Arthur laughed running down the stairs as you and Tommy followed behind him, mentally noting never to follow one of Arthur's ideas again.
Several hours had passed and you Tommy, Arthur and a girl he had picked up along the way were sitting around a campfire in the local woods where Arthur and Tommy's families two vardos were, sipping on the finest whisky you had ever tasted. You couldn't remember the amount of times they had brought you out here to camp, taking you away for a brief moment from the smoke filled air, from the memories of your father that hung over you thicker than any fogged filled skies, a grief you wouldn't have made it through without them. As you sat looking at the flames of the fire mesmerised by their orange glow Tommy glanced over to you, watching the flickering lights from the campfire cast a golden hue on your skin, desperate to be alone with you again, the kiss you shared earlier repeatedly playing out in his head.
" Come on love, let's leave them to it" Arthur said standing up taking his dates hand after noticing his brother staring at you. " See you in the morning" Arthur winked back to Tommy opening the small caravan door, squeezing the girls bum as they both entered. " If the caravan be rocking, don't come a knocking!" Arthur laughed as he shut the door leaving you alone with Tommy.
" Dickhead" Tommy mumbled under his breath as you looked away, biting your bottom lip at how awkward Arthur had suddenly made everything. "It's getting late" you said standing up as you brushed the mud and twigs off your skirt looking back at the other vardo.
" I'll sleep out here" Tommy said as he sat up throwing another log onto the fire.
" You can't sleep out here, you'll freeze to death. Come on, it's not like we've never slept in the same bed" you said only just realising how different this time would be.
" Right, yeh...ok" Tommy said clearing his throat as he stood up.
As you settled into the small bed you watched as Tommy took of his hat and coat, your heart rapidly beating as nerves started to mount in your stomach. Climbing under the covers Tommy turned to face you, his fingers coming up to brush the strands of hair away from your face. Leaning into eachother, both of you turned your head in the same direction, awkwardly banging your foreheads together, resulting in a fit of laughs leaving your lips as Tommy shook his head at you. It was quite possible you were the giggliest girl he had ever met. Relaxing you recomposed yourself as Tommy pressed his lips to yours in a tender embrace. As his hand moved to your lower back, pressing your body closer to his your breath hitched in you throat, nerves now consuming every movement you made. Pulling away Tommy rubbed his thumb over your hip, in an effort to help you relax.
" Let's just lay here together, yeh?" he said taking the pressure away from you, not wanting to rush you into anything you wasn't ready for you as you nodded your head, thankful for his understanding nature. Rolling onto his back Tommy brought you closer into his side as he stroked up and down your arm, happy to finally have you in his arms.
" I nearly forgot" you said as you sat up leaning across him to pick up your coat.
" Happy Birthday" you said pulling out a small gift wrapped in cloth.
" My birthdays not until tomorrow " he chuckled as he sat up.
" It will be in ten minutes" you said as you looked down at your watch, quickly returning your eyes to him pulling out a gold pocket watch from within the delicate fabric.
" Jesus Y/N...you got this for me, how? " he said with a huge grin on his face as he looked to you.
" All those hours pressing clothes. Took me almost a year to be able to afford it"
"Come here" he said bringing you into a hug as you settled back down into the bed together." Thank you" he added as he pressed a kiss to your forehead feeling happier than any win he had ever won at the races.
With his arm securely wrapped around you Tommy couldn't stop the smile on his face as he looked down at the watch in his hand, it was nicest thing he owned and the nicest thing anyone had ever done for him. Glancing at your wristwatch, Tommy turned the dials to the right time, when you took it from him turning it back a further five minutes.
" It's five minutes too late" he said watching you press the knob down.
" That way I'll always be on time for you" you giggled handing it back as Tommy chuckled shaking his head.
" Yeh just means I won't be on time for anything" he smiled closing the watch, keeping it tightly clasped in his hand as you nuzzled your head into his chest.
" Tommy?"
" Mm-hm?" he said as his eyes were about to close.
" What do you think we'll be doing this time ten years from now"
" The same thing" he smiled as his thumb rubbed over the curve of your shoulder. "Only naked" he said as he opened one eye looking to you.
" Tommy!" You said, giving him a small punch to the arm. " I'm serious, what do you think we'll be doing?"
" The same thing Y/N" he said with certainty as he tuned his head to face you. " You'll be in my arms every night from now on, that's a promise" he said as he looked lovingly back at you before giving you one last peck to the lips as you both closed your eyes, dreaming of the future and everything coming your way. Even though you were both young with your whole lives ahead of you one thing was for certain, in that moment you had no doubts that you wouldn't spend the rest of your lives together and every night in each others arms.
Ten years later...
Laughs and chatter of people enjoying eachothers company hummed around you as you sat quietly in the corner of the Garrison, the drink in your hand untouched as the night you and Tommy spent together this time ten years ago asleep in each others arms cruelly played out in your head. As a tear fell from your eye you looked up across the room to see the new barmaid sat tightly against Tommy's body, his arm resting around her shoulders. Tonight it wouldn't be you wrapped in his arms, tonight you would sleep alone as regret over decisions you had made weighed down your already broken heart. Standing up from your seat Tommy's eyes quickly darted to you, watching you pull your coat around you as you brushed the tears from your face, leaving the Garrison in a hurry unable to withstand anymore.
Clutching your coat around you from the cold night air you pushed the last tears from your cheeks as the pain in your heart dug further into your chest.
" Y/N" you heard your name being called by the very man you didn't want to see you like this.
"Yes Tommy" you said turning around as he waited at the Garrison door.
" I need you to go finish those papers at the betting shop for tomorrow" he said lighting a cigarette as he stepped a little closer.
" It's nearly midnight..." you replied as you watched him pull out his pocket watch to check the time. Quickly closing it Tommy clutched it tightly in his hand as he looked back at you. For a brief moment that's all he did as if the memories of that night had suddenly come flooding back to him. Maybe they had never left, and Tommy's heart was aching as much of yours, either way you could never tell, for just as quickly as his face softened for those brief few moments his demeanor abruptly changed, a scowl now spread across his face.
" The deadlines tomorrow " he said sharply looking to you as you shivered in the cold, your eyes red from crying.
" Ok Tommy" you said like you always did, at his beck and call night and day, desperately hanging onto the love you still felt for him. Without saying another word you turned on your heel heading for Watery Lane.
" You not going to wish me a happy birthday then?" Tommy called out as he watched you walk away.
" Happy birthday Tommy" you replied, the words catching in your throat, tears streaming down your face as you walked briskly off into the night. So much had changed over the years, so many promises broken, hearts broken along with them. But yet you still held on, hopelessly devoted to the man who promised to hold you in his arms every night.
(Part Two coming soon!)

Quick Overview of UKs Circus
Updated 15.02.22, I added a cut this time because Jesus christ is this getting long
just a quick overview for myself and possibly others that follow @becausegoodheroesdeservekidneys updates on the circus that is in town which is the UKs burning car wreck that they call politic.
Just a list of the named participants so we dont mix them up:
TW brief discussion of paedophilia in the parts about Jimmy Saville
Boris Johnson aka Big Dog
Tumblr media
-UK’s Prime Minister
-Brexit Idiot
-his initials spell out blowjob somehow this was not warning enough for the people electing him
-57 consecutive bad hair years
-Dumbass of the hour
-father of x children who knows he won't even take responsibility for those, how he keeps finding women willing to sleep with him is a mystery
-just wants to be loved ☹
-had so many parties
> Well-catered work event aka wine and cheese party 30 peeps attended, mind you, it wasn't a party, 100 invited, famously you can just dip on work events if you don't feel like it that's why 70% didn't show up
> Surprise! Birthday Party 30+ people "Oh so celebrating my birthday with a bunch of people and drinking and eating cake and having a good time and not working isnt a work even anymore *scoff* yeah right. I was ambushed. I am the victim here."
> Christmas Party wasn’t invited ☹ (was invited & attended; the party was at his place actually) there is a LYING photo of him out there "surrounded by alcohol, food and people wearing tinsel" do NOT believe this picture! it is a LIAR! it would sell its own mother given half a chance,
> Prince Philip Funeral Party lets goooo
> Wine Time Fridays, Parties every Friday during a global pandemic, don’t miss it! >> the one on Nov13th 2020 is revealed to be investigated by the Met >> 300+ photos of parties at Downing Street have been received by the Met, it was a bad year for Bori to find out about disposable cameras and handing them out to everyone at his parties like me and my friends did when we were 15.
-“Covid isn’t that dangerous lol”
-promptly catches covid
-had to be kept in his office like a toddler to not infect others
-“Covid is dangerous unlol”
-decidedly not strong like a bull, but about as smart as one
-wanted senior officials to take the fall and force them to resign
-threatened to cut BBC license fee, ending covid restrictions, Asking the military to protect against asylum seekers crossing the channel so they must go to Rwanda and Ghana for processing instead
-meets MPs and cries because nobody likes him anymore :(
-didn’t attend a party! (yay) because he broke the law by travelling to his second home (nay) also knew about the party and said lmao yeah go-ahead
-lied to the House of Commons (generally seen as a dick move)
-would sell his children, he has enough to go around, so MPs don’t send mean little letters, also offered more money and threatened to take funds away if people wrote antilove-letters
-idiot that made the rules but didn’t know they also applied to him (was warned that he wasn’t cool enough for this to work)
-wrote a book about Churchill, was lying through his teeth while writing it, probably really didn’t know the Churchill speech because he definitely didn’t know a lot of stuff while writing his book, historians delighted to rip it to shreds
-dropped all covid restrictions (scientists are weeping)
-actually did the threatening himself like an idiot
> that’s misconduct in public office which is a crime babyyyy
-in an insanely bad move announces that he decides how much of the report on the investigation on him will be published to really just fucking hit his last supporters over the head with a shovel saying “I am corrupt, you idiot!”
-prioritised evacuation animals from Afghanistan over people, people are very hung up on this and I wish they'd do more about it than complain and actually see the big picture of all his bs rather than just this tiny part, getting real thoughts and prayer vibes from those guys
-said he will make a statement regarding the Gray report once it is made public in the House of Commons, apparently, this was not something that would go without saying.
-said the entire report will be published so we'll how many questions will arise from all the things we already know
-was asked if he thought that the ministerial code "ministers who knowingly mislead parliament are expected to offer their resignation" applies to him, "yeah" "are you gonna resign since you mislead the parliament over your parties?" "no", so uh. no he doesnt
-is willing to be interviewed by the police, beliefs however he is innocent, contrary to all the proof showing that he is, in fact, guilty
-I swear me and my hundreds of working staff and my other coworkers who are living somewhere else are one household! Come by fridays to see us hanging out and drinking wine! Its basically as if we live together!
-man who looks like he couldnt make it up a single flight of stairs without wheezing fatshames someone for pointing out throwing a birthday party during a lockdown might be a shit idea.
-accuses Keir Starmer of letting Jimmy Saville (who is dead), DJ, BBC Moderator, paedophile, avoid justice; completely ignoring the fact that Keir Starmer had absolutely nothing to do with that, had no power whatsoever and didn't fucking do that, since this was a planned accusation in a desperate attempt to make somebody else the boogyman for a second his advisors (Number 10 staff) literally all told him "for the love of God don't fucking say that" Boris, however, knew in his heart of hearts that he had to spread that lie nonetheless.
-didnt know what to say at his "half-time pep talk" so he quoted the movie he saw the night before with his current child (we'll see when he abandons it) and goes on to quote Rafiki,,, from the Lion King,,, basically saying "change is good I promiseee" not seeing the irony that is screaming in his face that demands the change is that he LEAVES, couldnt even be bothered to look up if something similar was said in Hamlet. now if I had read Hamlet i would add a better quote from it but i didnt so alas.
-claims he fired the people who resigned because of the Gray Report (he didn't, let's be honest with ourselves here)
-cares deeply about the environment, the only little guilty pleasure he allows himself is flying with a private jet every now and then 🥰
-claims that offences have fallen, The UK Statistics Authority calls cap because they have increased and BJ cant stop lying
-wrote a very flowery worded article back in 2006 about Tony Blair basically saying "politicians don't fucking know when to quit" obviously once again the irony is palpable
-has """"buyers remorse"""" over his wife of 8 months(as of February of 2022 he said this in 21 tho after marrying her in fucking July) and his new BABIES stop having children then you fucktard, apparently avoids going home because of the misses, Carrie is a bitch in and of herself but fucking Yikes man. two people that really deserve each other and two kids that will grow up severely damaged
-sang "I will survive" to his new director of communications, I can only imagine his beautiful singing voice, kinda like nails on a blackboard
-will NOT be apologising about the Saville thing because he has stuff to do today, tomorrow? he will have stuff to do then too shut up and stop asking
Confirmed Number of sent Letters of no confidence: 17/54
(confirmed by the bbc) r/ukpolitics Tracker for the letters
The Others
MP: Member of Parliament, PM: Prime Minister,
Whipping (The Whip): an official of a political party whose task is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. This means ensuring that members of the party vote according to the party platform, rather than according to their own individual ideology or the will of their donors or constituents
- Pippa Crerar: journalist, with integrity those are rare, that broke the news about the first party, got Dominic Cummings to be willing to swear under oath that Big Dog is an idiot even and knew about the one (1) party that he didn’t attend, posts a picture of boris a the christmas party of No 10 during PMQs (Prime Minister Questions, a weekly session in which the PM has to answer questions from MPs)
- Metropolitan Police: (Scotland Yard is it's headquarters, dont get confused its the same thing)“we’re not gonna investigate suck a dick cough sorry I meant there isn’t enough evidence”, so fucking corrupt o my fucking god, protect number 10 and those officers who did might just actually work with Sue Gray, "goddamit fucking hell fine we will investigate jesus christ fuck you guys. THIS IS A ONE TIME THING. DONT GET USED TO IT", is investigating a "number of events" for potential breaches of the lockdowns at the time, apparently dont investigate crimes that happened in the past? Check it out guys i found a secret photograph of the Met hard at work to investigate future crime, which is their usual business!
Tumblr media
[ID: a screenshot from the show futurama, from the episode in which a robot solves future crime by calculating which crime will happen next. it is a robot in something looking like a bathtub with cables connected to his head and chest. End ID] didnt let Sue Gray release her complete report BUT! thats actually a good thing because it would allow tories to get their stories straight which would be a bad thing, a watchdog has been investigating them and has found "a culture of disgraceful misogyny, discrimination and sexual harassment" we are all pretending to be shocked, I cant show it on my face I just dont have it in me anymore to pretend that much. Actually, if I look at it this way (with my eyes open instead of closed), the Christmas Party might have actually been illegal! 50 Partygoers are being contacted. Have been outright threatened that they better sleep with one eye open if you come for the chihuahua
-Cressida Dick a senior police officer of the Met, its in her name she is a massive dick, FUMING about the "a culture of disgraceful misogyny, discrimination and sexual harassment" allegations, has absolutely NO intentions of resigning!!! Mayor of London: u suck. Cressida jumps on her laptop presumably after writing in her burn book with tears streaming down her face and hands in her resignation.
-Sadiq Khan Mayor of London, presumably destroyed Cressida Dick which she had coming, wants to rebuild trust by appointing a new trustworthy replacement for Dick with the help of no other but Priti Petal, an absolute Cressida Stan.
- Dominic Cummings: ex-chief adviser of big dog, is pretty sure the wine and cheese parties were actually legal so jot that down, advised BJ against throwing parties that were against the law (notably not the wine and cheese ones) and generally a bad idea, ready to go under oath to get his ex-boss in trouble and honestly what a mood, pinky promises he didn't leak the pictures from the parties; BJ, Cummings, the jokes write themselves, called BJ a clown after he sang I will survive to his new director of communications
- Matt Hancock Tory MP “please don’t have wine and cheese parties :( covid is serious” on the day of the wine and cheese party at Boris place which he attended
- Mistress aka Carrie Johnson: (who is btw 33 and her Lovely husband is 53, have been married since july 2021) woman Boris was fucking while his cancer suffering ex-wife was going through chemo, current wife, yet to be cheated on as far as we know, can only be a matter of time, that we do know, threw her husband, the Prime Minister of the UK, a birthday party during a lockdown, could not possibly be more presumptuous, mother of two out of x amount of children that blowjob has, children that boris has said to regret, like he regrets marrying her, yikes.
- Sue Gray, civil servant: Number 10 staff, sure she is corrupt but! Not a politician. We are grasping for straws, let's not be too demanding. the one who got to investigate her boss (the dream) and write her Gray Report, couldn't fucking write fast enough with all the witnesses that came forward, the watered-down version of the report IS be published, Sue presumably went to bed right after and took a two-week nap. It covers all alleged events, However, the parties that the Met is investigating are only allowed to be mentioned briefly , also she had pictures of world-worst-person-in-hiding-the-evidence BlowJo at parties surrounded by wine, according to the tories her official email is [email protected] so don't you guys go around abusing that knowledge, presumably cannot believe she served under these fucking idiots so far
- Keir Starmer MP Leader of the Labour Party and the Opposition, showed a backbone for about 5secs and described Boris as a pathetic spectacle of a man, asked Big Dog if he thought that the ministerial code "ministers who knowingly mislead parliament are expected to offer their resignation" applies to him, "yeah" "are you gonna resign since you mislead the parliament over your parties?" "no", ex lawyer, since he obviously didnt help Jimmy Saville avoid justice and actually used to work on bringing paedophiles to justice he is now famous for doing exactly that, fighting against paedophilia, proud owner of a backbone in form of a jelly worm, has to be rushed into a police car because a mob or protestors swarm him over the Savile thing. Piers Corbyn (climate change denier), brother of Jeremy Corbyn (ex-leader of the Labor party!!!) was part of the mob, drank a beer alone in his flat, surprisingly that did not break the law you get him next time Daily mail! dont stop trying!
- Nazir Afzal former Chief Crown Prosecutor, whos Wiki page literally starts with "a British solicitor with experience in the legal areas of child sexual exploitation and violence against women.", has worked with Keir Starmer and strongly refutes that Keir somehow helped Jimmy Saville avoid justice (because those are literal lies), actually says Keir "supported [him] in bringing 100s of child sex abusers to justice”
- Rishi Sunak Tory MP, Chancellor of the UK aka money boy, looks like a would-kill-you-if-he-could-version of Sam the Eagle from sesame street, possibly Pippa Crerars source?? He isn’t in any pictures so one can only speculate, IS in a picture with boris at the birthday party taken by the official state photographer, not to worry tho his own department threw a drinking party as well (he didn't attend), wants to be PM so bad, asked people who write letters to get rid of Boris if he can help, announces a new tax rise calls it the Prime Minister’s tax, really just wants even the last 3 people that still like Boris to go from :) to >:(, did attend the Seriously-guys-its-not-a-birthday-party-this-work-event-just-so-happens-to-have-cake-and-booze-and-people-illegally-singing Meeting, there is literally a picture of him and Boris at that party! promises however that he wasnt invited :( The chancellor. Of the UK. Wasnt invited to the meeting but the las that painted the walls in a slightly different shade of white was. alright. The present he had in his hands that his mommy let him pick out was just something he found on the street in front of the building and he wanted to ask them if they had lost it. Why he was at the house when he wasn't invited to neither the party nor the meeting? well because -- *runs away* *comes back to finish my piece* anyway after being put on the spot he says he wouldnt have done the insane accusation about the Saville thing, now that only makes sense who the fuck would do that but blowjob himself? Anyway shouldnt the PM apologise for that "Thats for him to decide" ah right the blade of grass that acted as his spine for a second there was immediately crushed by his being a piece of shit, somehow dares to claim that heating bills are a struggle because *insert easily disprovable excuse aka lie*, is torn to shreds about this by Martin Lewis a financial journalist and the guy behind the money saving expert thing, a The guy behind the £600m lost and no PPE thing
- House of Lords; aka Lords: second chamber of parliament of the UK, pretty pissed at the not so good boy Boris so they rejected bills out of pettiness which is good because they were horrific
- Nadine Dorres Tory MP: evil, minister of mental health, will show up when you say her name in front of a mirror three times, looks like you dressed a scarecrow in the fanciest clothes the one aunt you hate owns, looks like someone edited Cartoon version of Cruella DeVil to what she'd look like if she lost all of the things that make her design cool, came up with Operation Dead Red Meat, oh so just because its a birthday party its a party huh? checkmate plebs “My god, Nadine, you’re embarrassing yourself.”, might be BJs new affair the way she is acting, "have you talked with the PM in the last 24h?" "we have communicated" wink wink nudge nudge ;)))))), secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, has yet to figure out that in an interview you usually Answer Questions, could not have been worse prepared for the interview that becausegoodheroesdeservekidneys linked, "changed what?" "his attitude" "to what?" girl. How did you even manage to walk into politics with your mediocre at best grasp of the English language? has removed the restriction that stopped Rupert Murdoch, billionaire, fucking executive chairman of fox corporation Rupert Murdoch, Murdoch who publically admitted to having tried to sway public opinion to support G.W. Bushes Iraq war That same fucking Rupert Murdoch. that he now can interfere with the editorial independence of The Times and the Sunday Times which he both ownes. Literally allowing him to produce massive propaganda and expose The Times to his censorship and his other fucking insanities
-Unnamed Cabinet Member (Nadine Dorries???): angry that not everyone follows Doggo and believes his every word blindly (alright yeah its Nadine Dorries), accuses Rishi Sunak the money boy, of conspiring i guess? against the chihuahua, hopes the BlowJo fires moneyboy, which is very very very very dumb because that would just cut him loose, with nothing to lose and probably a bunch of fucking incriminating knowledge against the PM he would fucking destroy him, he'd simply massacre him for all to see
- BBC: Broadcaster, muzzled by tories, turns out can be pretty angry if you threaten to cut their funding and might just actually do good journalism again
- Ghana: has never heard of operation red meat and thinks it's stupid
- Laura Kuenssberg, full-time bitch, sometimes also a journalist. Tory, will be investigating for the BBC
- Queen, The Queen™, Lizzie, turned down the possibility to invite more people to her husbands funeral while the parliament was probably drinking and playing twister
- Christian Wakefield ex-Tory now Labour MP: lives for the drama, sat directly behind Keir Starmer effectively changing parties after telling everyone that he was bullied by Gavin Williamson to be loyal to Boris, was threatened that funds for a new school would be pulled so naturally, he brought that up because literally, everyone can universally agree that that is a bad look
- David Davies, Tory MP: worst David Davies you can find and there are apparently a lot: recited the speech given to pre-Winston Churchill PM so he'd step down “You have sat there too long for all the good you have done, in the name of God go.“; a different one of these said “hey lets not raise the tax" because now it's connected to Boris and who can say no to some free cloud
- Diana Johnson Labour MP, girl bossed the exact right amount when she asked “If the PM is spending his time trying to convince the British public that he’s stupid instead of dishonest, isn’t it time he goes? Now?”
- Will Wragg Tory Mp, presumably unhappy about his name, accused number 10 of blackmail, madman,
- Number 10: House in which PM and the First Lord are roommating, blackmailed folks to leak embarrassing stories if they don’t support Big Boy Boris who definitely did NOT cry (he did), the officials (number 10 staff NOT politicians) were threatened into silence but spoke up to add to the Gray Report, is facing police investigation over alleged 👀 breaches of lockdown rules. "we didnt break the law. check my sources" sources: trust me bro (dont trust them), "listen, LISTEN, we told BJ to not fucking say that about our Keir Starmer okay? We told him to shut the fuck up but he doesnt listen what do you want us to do? tape his mouth shut???"
- Sajid Javid Tory MP, his brother is running the Metropolitan police
- Jacob Rees-Mogg Tory MP, supports little ol boris, threatens that the UK will go to a general election if Bori gets thrown off of his thrown of stupidity "k" says everybody else and immediately goes back to what they were doing before, claims the morning after pill is abortion, it is literally classified as emergency contraception. contraception PREVENTS pregnancy. once again scientists are weeping, everyone with a basic understanding of human reproduction and contraception is weeping, gets demoted to Brexit Opportunities Minister, a job that sounds absolutely made up and something that the useless son of a ceo would do, he now will obviously get a well-earned pay raise of 35K a year. has asked the readers of The Sun to send him benefits they could possibly think of because he sure cant think of any from brexit. you know I was disturbed, angry even, about the pay raise before but you know. I truly think he has earned it.
- Michael Fabricant, Tory MP, semi-professional Boris Impersonator, described Palestinian activists as “primitives” who are “trying to bring to London what they do in the Middle East”, cant pull off Owen Wilsons haircut but he be damned if he isnt trying, a supporter of BJ, “everyone has done a bit of blackmailing, what's the big deal?”, made sure we all knew that Mark Spencer posted a dictated tweet says he really isn’t #islamophobic! He promises! Nusrat Ghani is just like … unimaginative… and mediocre… anyway #Boris is not #islamophobic!, “Are we talking party poppers and wild Ibiza nights? I don’t think so!” says local crazy man that has repeatedly proven he cannot think. believes BJ when he says that he fired the people that resigned once again proving that he cannot think,
- Theresa May, Tory MP ex-PM, UKs second female PM (they have a track record of voting women into office when they are like an inch away from a cliff so the drop can be connected to the female PMs so they can blame them, this does not at all excuse the women who both were/are bitches in their own regard, notably she was the one stuck with having to start the Brexit bs while Cameron resigned after the referendum) was voted out of office because nobody liked her, objectively bad person, filled with schadenfreude, knighted Saville despite being aware that the guy was a fucking paedophile!!
- Fiona Bruce, journalist that hosts Question Time a political debate show. In which nobody would defend Boris because he is a bad person who made bad decisions
- Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales, thinks Boris is an idiot and will continue to make the sensible decision to Not drop all covid restrictions because that is insane, “We are a government that doesn’t need to grab headlines to distract attention”
- Rory Stewart, ex Tory MP, looks like a dehydrated John Mulaney, lost in the PM race against Dogboy left politics in 2019, contra Dog, says the whip system functionally makes the UK an elected dictatorship (shocker), easily shows how dumb it would be to fire the people who resigned because they were literally BJs most senior staff and he has no fucking successors?
- Chris Bryant Labour MP, on a moral crusade (he is an ex-priest so it fits the bill) against tories, which.. good for him,
- Nusrat Ghani Tory MP, was too muslimic? Just had to be fired, no way around it; is now back to sitting at the kids table aka the backbenches, in time out maybe she can come out when she stops being a Muslim who knows
- Mark Spencer: Nusrat Ghani means me when she says she was fired for her “Muslimness”, I didn’t do it tho, I pinky promise, who are you gonna believe? Me or some Muslim? Posted a dictated tweet about this, it wasn’t a good tweet
- Baroness Warsi, Member of the house of lords, also experienced Tory Islamophobia (gasp, no way!)
- Dominic Raab Tory MP, Deputy PM: had to announce that BJ will decide how much of the Gray report will be published for the public
- Gavin Williamson Tory MP, threatens other MPs to be loyal to Boris or their funding will be cut, can however not recall the conversations in which that happened so I guess he is free to go, officer!
- Michael Ellis Tory MP: man who is holding too many offices, okay MAYBE (cue laughter) the people setting the rules haven't been following them ugh whatever, I can't talk about ongoing police investigations
-Liz Truss Tory MP, foreign secretary: woman that looks like she'd traumatise the 16-year-old working at McDonalds if they got her order slightly wrong, BJ has her "100% support". Says it might just be not a good idea of publishing the entire report because........ security issues...... so its like ~problematic to publish~, supposedly didnt attend any of the parties -> says she wasnt invited, which is weird to say considering that makes it sound like that is the only reason you didnt go, went to the Tory emergency meeting without a mask, caught covid because karma workes a lot faster these days. described by Russian Foreign Secretary as "like talking to a deaf person" so like probably a very attentive listener
-Conor Burns Tory MP, presumingly the man aiming a gun at Blowjobs head and forcing him to eat cake, "I have been informed it was not, in fact, cake. I have yet to be informed what it actually was. The meme lied to me, it was not all cake all along. I am currently working on building my world up new from the ground since it was shattered in the smallest of pieces.", probably upset that he has to say it wasnt cake because it was probably him who baked it and he was actually kinda proud of it
-Huw Merriman Tory MP, looks like Rami Malek if he was not quite ugly but supremely mediocre at best, stepped into human poo at the Dover lorry convoy kinda like politics shits on the basic human needs of lorry drivers (truckers).
-Ian Blackford Scottisch politican, who actually looks like he'd be the life of the party, accuses BlowJo of lying, this is a serious accusation since lying in Parliament is kind of a crime, when he was asked if he meant that the PM was mistaken he said "Nah, fucker lied" which he was kicked out for
-Ed Miliband former Labour leader, calls Boris "a stain on our politics" which is funny as hell and also brutal lol
-Unispace Global Ltd company, was paid £600m for PPE by the goverment, has since then not answered the phone the money is just ... gone? There is no PPE. There was no exchange of goods and services. there was only money and ghosting >> according to Nursingnotes.co.uk this money would have been enough to double the salary of every NHS nurse
-Priti Patel Tory MP, daughter of the last good immigrants (her father literally is also a child of immigrants, not to worry tho he joined a rightwing party in England) and she be damned if she doesnt try every fucking thing to prevent others from trying to proof that there are good immigrants after her parents came to the UK, child of immigrants that hates immigrants just as much as your conservative disgusting old uncle that you are willing to ruin christmas for just to argue with him because my god how can you be such a fucking cunt, according to her fashion sense she is trying so hard to become white by proxy, literally wants the military to police the channel and send refugees back to france, the Ministry of Defence told her to get fucked, has to find a replacement for her bias Cressida Dick with the mayor of london, absolutely fuming about this
-Mohammed Amersi Major Tory Donor, proofing that even as an immigrant you can be bigoted against other immigrants, wants his 200K back because "I wasnt invited to all your illegal parties. I cant believe you guys would have illegal parties without me!!"
-Dominic Grieve ex-Tory MP, defends Keir Starmer against the Savile lie, "&when the PM tells a whopping lie that's put out by fascist right-wing websites, that's a disgraceful thing to do"
-Yvette Cooper Labour MP, demands PM correct himself when he said that crime stats have fallen when that is literally not true, Boris doesnt care for it so he doesnt.
-Guto Harri NEW director of communications, fucking sucks, made himself a "joke" by being a cunt in welsh politics and is now ready for the big breakthrough and will begin to clown on the entire UK.
-Year Six Kids Students learning about the British political system, hurt the Tories feelings :( by writing mean letters :((( its about time we stop teaching the children. back when the tories were rich children from rich families they didnt criticise the politicians, they were to busy being rich and enjoying that
-John Major, ex-PM, ex-Tory MP, ex-Tory Party Leader, says that Boris broke the law about the parties, calls for Tory MPs to put country before party and get rid of Blowjob, foolishly I had believed they were always supposed to put the country before the fucking party.
Now to our lost tributes, just imagine the cool pictures int the sky like in the hunger games (resigned or fired, incomplete list):
-Elena Narozanski, advisor to the BJ, Education Policy Specialist, resigns. -Martin Reynolds, principle private secretary to the PM (chad who send out the invitations to not waste the good weather. bring your own booze!!), resigns. -Dan Rosenfield, chief of staff at Number 10, resigns. -Munira Mirza, advisor to the BJ, Head of Policy, PUBLISHED HER RESIGNATION LETTER, resigns. -Jack Doyle, director of communication, quote journalist unquote, used to work for the Daily Mail so yknow journalist for what it is worth, resigns. -Cressida Dick, Commissioner of Police of the Met, resigns

Doing anything with the Weasley twins is dangerous, but driving with them? That's basically a death wish.
"Don't worry love, I've driven plenty of times!"
Though George's driving scared the hell out of you, you knew that it would be worth it because you'd be able to see your best friend Ron.
You and ron met 1st year when you and Hermoine walked up to him and harry asking about Neville's toad, and ever since then you've all been best friends. Every summer you, Harry, and Hermoine would go over to the Weasleys for a couple of weeks, but this year you were the only one who could come. Hermione and her parents were going to America for the summer, and Harry was spending his with his god father, Sirius, and his step dad, Remus. The thought of being alone with Ron all summer made you excited and nervous, only problem? You didn't know why you were so nervous.
"Oi y/n, I can make the car do flips, care to see?" George asked.
"W-what? Why the fuck would I wanna do that?!"
"I dunno, maybe your feeling a little spicy?" Fred said with a smirk.
"S-spicy? Really? Spicy, that's the word you went with?"
"Yeah I agree with her, I wanted to do a flip, not a fuckin' lap dance." George said with a laugh.
"Whoa, whoa, no one said anything about a lap dance, but I mean if y/n is down...." Fred said with grin as he looked back at you.
"Ew hell no!" You made a gagging sound at the end of your sentence.
"Oh I get it, you rather give one to Ron, huh?" Fred teased.
"I- just get me to the damn house."
"As you wish love, as you wish."
Tumblr media
When you finally got to the Burrow you were met with the smell of cinnamon, apple, and trees. You walked in with George and Fred right behind you.
"Oh! Y/n dear how are you!" You heard Molly yell when she saw you, engulfing you in a tight hug.
"Hi Molly! I'm good, how are you?" You said as she let you go.
"I'm good! I'm so glad that you where able to come!" She smiled sweetly at you.
"Y/n?" Ginny said as she came down the stairs.
"Ginny!"
You ran over to her and gave a tight hug. Ginny had always been like a little sister to you.
"Wheres lu?"
"Oh shes upstairs. Lu, darling, come down here!"
The redheads girlfriend Luna, or lu as her friends called her, came down stairs with a soft smile.
"Hello y/n, it's good to see you." She walked over and gave you a hug.
Though you loved the Weasley family, there was only one Weasley that you really wanted to see.
"Wheres Ron?"
"Probably upstairs dreaming about you." George said in a very loud whisper. That earned him a smack on the arm by Molly.
"Ron, honey, y/n is here!" Molly yelled.
You heard loud footsteps.
"Y/N!" Ron jumped into your open arms.
"Ronnie!"
He smelled like cinnamon, candy, and men's cologne? Ron never used any kind of cologne, so why did he now?
"Why do you smell like that?"
His face became as red as his hair.
"O-oh I-I uh, does it smell b-bad?"
"No, it smells good, just weird for you to wear it, s'all."
"O-oh good."
Fred and George gave each other knowing looks.
As you two pulled apart from one another, you looked deep into each other's eyes. After at least 15 seconds of this Molly finally broke the silence.
"Fred, George, help y/n take her bags upstairs to Ron's room."
"But cant she-"
"No buts! Go, now." She cut Fred off.
"Y/n you'll be staying in Ron's room, I hope that's okay."
Your face grew hot at the idea of sleeping in the same room as Ron.
"Y-yeah, that's okay."
Tumblr media
After dinner everyone headed off to their rooms. As you walked in Ron's room it was filled with awkward silence, something that was not normal for you two.
"Soooooo....."
"Yeah, so um..."
After about 30 more seconds of awkward silence Ron started pulling old blankets out of his closet.
"What are you doing?"
"Well I want some padding on the ground, it'll hurt otherwise dummy."
"Why would you sleep on the ground? The bed is big enough for the both of us."
"Well it would be kinda weird to sleep in the same bed, dont ya think?"
"Well maybe, but only if we make it weird."
"Y-yeah I guess."
"I-if you dont want to that's fine! I just didn't think you wanted to sleep on the floor but if you do that's-"
"Bunny, its okay, I'm okay with sleeping into he same bed, dont worry."
Bunny
That pet name always manage to get you flustered.
"Okay, cool cool cool."
He chuckled at your nervousness, acting like he wasn't just as nervous only hours ago. You walked over to your bag and pulled out a oversized tee, some underwear and soft cotton shorts.
"Turn around." You said laying the clothes on the bed.
"Why?"
"So I can change, duh."
He went red at the thought of you changing next to him. He turned around and you began to change.
"Done!"
He turned around and visibly gulped when he saw your shorts. He went to open his mouth but nothing came out.
"Cat got your tongue, Weasley?" You teased.
"Oh sod off."
You giggled and sat down on the bed. You turned so that your back was facing him.
"Why ya sitting like that?"
"Well aren't you gonna change?"
"O-oh yeah um, so uh never mind."
"What is it?"
"Well I um, I sleep with my shirt off, but I can sleep with it on if your uncomfortable with that."
"No! I-I mean, naw I'm cool with it."
"Eager to see me without a shirt, eh?"
"Ugh shut up, just change so we can go to bed."
"Bossy aren't you?"
You stuck your tongue out at him. He got done changing and you turned around, somehow in only a few weeks he got even more fit. You could see his freckled abs and part of his v-line just above his shorts, you went hot looking at him.
"Dont you know it's rude to stare, bunny?" He had a smirk on his face.
"I-I wasn't stari- you know what, forget it lets just go to bed."
He laughed at your words but still got into bed. You both got under the covers and laid awkwardly on the edge of the bed, both worried to get to close.
"So uh, night." He said, though it sounded more like a question.
"Yeah, night."
You reached over and turned the lamp off. A few minutes went by before he broke the silence.
"You uh, you can get a little closer if you want."
"Oh, yeah sure, thanks."
You moved closer, your shoulders were now touching. A few more minutes went by and you thought he had fallen asleep, until his voice startled you.
"Y/n?"
"Yeah?"
"C-can I, um, can I hold you?"
"Y-you want to hold me?"
"Yeah.."
"O-okay."
You turned so that you were facing him. You buried yourself in his neck, and he put his arms around you, pulling you closer.
"Is this okay?" He asked, hoping it was because he never wanted to stop.
"Yeah, its good."
"Good, well goodnight bunny."
"Goodnight ronnie."
Right as you were on the edge of sleep you heard a quiet.
"I love you."
"I love you too, ronnie."
Tumblr media
BONUS:
"Holy shit!"
"Ha! You owe me five sickles Fred!"
You opened your eyes to see George, Fred, Ginny, and Luna looking at you and Ron cuddling.
"I fucking told you!" George yelled.
"Do ya think they did it?" Fred asked.
"Get out! All of you!" Ron yelled.

For Day 29 of Rowaelin Month
“A song fic-“
The song- “Always Been You” by Quinn XCII
CW- Mentions of miscarriage and divorce
"I can't believe you right now."
Rowan looks at his wife in frustration. She's sitting at the end of their bed, staring listlessly at the wall. The skirt of the red dress she's wearing is wrinkled, and his heart aches when he notices the mascara marks on her cheeks.
"Aelin," Rowan tries again to reach for her, but she leans away from his grasp.
"No, Rowan. I'm done."
Rowan takes a long swing from the beer in front of him. The time on his phone alerts him that he's spent most of the evening sulking at his bar.
The guys had invited him to dinner, but Rowan hadn't felt like going in light of his current situation. Instead, choosing to meander to the shady little pub they'd passed by coming from the airport.
His lawyer had sent him numerous emails. Documents to sign, agreements to approve, and papers he needed to read through before sending them to the judge.
Divorce was a pain, and Aelin wasn't making it easy.
"Hey, bud. I thought I might find you here." Fenrys slides onto the barstool next to his.
Rowan sighs and rubs the lines forming on his forehead. "Well, I thought it was obvious I didn't want company."
"Too bad. Drinking alone isn't a good look on you." Fenrys raises a hand and motions for another round of beers. "How are things going with ya know?"
"Shitty. She's never paid a dime of rent on that apartment, but she wants the lease signed into her name and for me to front the first four months of rent." Rowan cracks a peanut between his finger. He has no intent to eat the growing pile in front of him. He just craved the satisfaction of breaking something.
"Well, have you talked to her about that?" Fenrys frowns in sympathy, knowing how equally attached both parties were to the little rental.
Rowan laughs mirthlessly. "No, she said that it was better if our conversations were mediated. I always knew Aelin was catty, but she's acting like such a-"
"Don't." Fenrys gives Rowan a severe look. "I know you are upset, but don't start saying shit you'll regret."
Rowan pauses and reluctantly nods his agreement. It's the alcohol talking. He knew the problems that had festered his marriage were predominantly his responsibility.
He takes a deep breath, but a heaviness seems to keep the air from reaching his lungs fully. The weight was slowly becoming too familiar, starting the day Aelin had presented him with the papers.
Rowan wishes he'd done more. Wishes he'd paid more attention and seen the signs of Aelin's unhappiness.
The day Aelin had broken down in their bedroom had been a cold wake-up call but by then? It was already too late.
"You missed our anniversary Rowan." Aelin shouts and pulls her heels off angrily.
Rowan picks up a shoe and tries to hand it back to her. "I know. I'm sorry. It's not too late, though. We can still go out? There's still time to salvage-"
Aelin turns away from him and seems to fold in on herself. Rowan wants to reach out. He wants to hold her, but something dark is building in the air.
"I don't want your leftovers, Rowan," Aelin whispers. "That's all I get anymore—your leftover time. Your leftover attention. Whatever leftover resentment you bring home from work."
"Aelin-" he tries to cut off her depressive spiral, but she's not finished.
"You used to call me during the day." Aelin's voice cracks, and he realizes she's crying. "Every day, you would call me on your break. Now you don't even call when you leave town."
"Baby, just listen to me." He puts his hands on her shoulders, but Aelin breaks his grasp to turn around and look at him.
"Is there someone else?" Her eyes are wide and vulnerable. So unlike his regular Aelin."
"What?" His brain is struggling even to formulate a reply. Rowan's lack of response only causes Aelin to worry more.
Something in her cracks. There's a quiver to her lips, and her face drains of color. "Oh. Oh no."
"Aelin. I swear there is no one else." Rowan finally says, but it's too late.
"Is," Aelin presses the heels of her hands against her eyes. "Is it because I lost the baby?" She sucks in a hiccupping breath. "You've always wanted kids. So did I, but my fucking body doesn't work."
Aelin closes her eyes, and Rowan knows she's speaking more to herself than him, but her words gut him just the same. "My body doesn't work right. I keep giving us false hopes and wasting money on pregnancy tests. Of course, you would look for a woman who can give you what you want."
He's surprised by the sudden flare of anger in him. "Don't put words in my mouth. That will never be your fault."
They'd known right from the start their journey to parenthood would be a long one. Aelin had a family history of complicated fertility. It had seemed so trivial when they got married. Yet even knowing there could be issues, nothing quite prepared them for the pain of a miscarriage.
Aelin sniffles, unable to force back her grief, "But you resent me. Don't you?"
Rowan doesn't reply.
"It's rough," Rowan admits out loud. "I let a lot get left unsaid. I was hurt and pushed her away. Now she won't even speak to me without a lawyer present."
Fenrys nods, "It's all probably for the best. Once this is over, you guys can put this drama behind you."
"I wish it were that easy," Rowan knocks back the rest of his beer. He grimaces at the drink. It's not taking hold quickly enough.
Fenrys raises an eyebrow. "You both will be able to shut the book on this chapter of your lives and move on? Considering how bloody you two have been fighting, it sounds ideal."
They sit in silence. Fenrys takes the peanut basket away from Rowan and picks at the shells. The bartender comes by, and disgruntledly eyes Rowan's pile of crumbs as he orders a whiskey neat.
Fen was like his little brother, but Rowan found it hard to admit his real problem to him aloud. "I still love her."
The basket goes flying over the side of the counter, and Fenrys chokes on his beer. "What?"
Rowan can't look him in the eye, "We lost a baby. It was early. Aelin didn't want to tell everyone. Three years we tried to get pregnant, and finally, a test comes back positive. She was so happy."
"Shit," Fenrys says quietly. "I'm so sorry."
"It was there, and then it was gone. I thought Aelin was fine. She cried for a week, but then it was like a switch flipped, and she was back to normal." Rowan clenches a napkin in his fist. "I was devastated. It hurt like hell, but I didn't want to send her back into a depression." Rowan shakes his head at how stupid he'd been. "So I put some distance between us. I didn't want her to think I was upset with her."
"I didn't feel better," Rowan sips the whiskey, relishing the warmth. "It made me mad that she got over it so quickly, and I couldn't. I didn't realize that I was growing that space between us. I didn't understand how much guilt she harbored and that she tried to be strong for me. Not until she broke."
"We fought. I said all the wrong things. Aelin couldn't take it anymore, she left, and I didn't stop her." Rowan leans his head on his hands and elbows against the counter. "She's the love of my life, and I watched her walk out the door."
Fenrys sucks in a breath and sighs. "You are my best friend, and I mean this in the most loving way possible. Why the hell are you here?"
"What?" Rowan looks at Fenrys annoyed face.
"Get out of here. Go. I'll tell the boss you have ebola or some shit." Fenrys fishes his wallet out and throws cash on the bar. "I'll even cover the tab. Just leave. Now."
"What? I don't understand?"
Fenrys looks at Rowan like he's stupid. "No offense, but you are about as interesting as a brick wall. The fact you caught a girl like Aelin is astonishing. If you love her, are you honestly going to let her go on being miserable?"
"She's not miserable," Rowan scoffs.
Fenrys laughs bitterly. "You forget I'm pals with Aedion too? Aelin winds up at his house almost every evening crying her eyes out. You two are still hopelessly in love. You're just dumb and badly in need of a good conversation."
"Aelin is upset?" A sense of disbelief washes over him.
"Yes! She misses you, but she's under the impression you are off sleeping around." His face saddens. "I told Aedion you weren't. He knows I go on all of these trips with you. Aelin's just upset you're gone and needs to believe in something that can help her let go."
Rowan stands up, swaying. "I have to go."
"Hell yeah, you do. Give Aelin my love," Fenrys waves as Rowan vates the bar like a hawk out of hell.
Aelin sets the stack of papers in front of him.
Rowan had been camping out in his office ever since there disaster of an anniversary. He'd texted a few times, but every time they talked, it was like relighting a fuze. Things weren't getting better.
"What are these?" Rowan asks without looking up from his screen.
"Your ticket to freedom," Aelin sits in the chair across from him.
She looks thin, thinner than she did when Arobynn was her foster father. It physically hurts Rowan that he's causing her that kind of stress. Glancing at the papers, she slapped in front of him. His blood becomes like an ice river through his body. "Aelin-"
"I'm not the one for you. That's apparent now. I won't hold you hostage in a marriage that you aren't happy in." Aelin blinks, and a tear slides down her face. He wants to wipe it away, but he's beyond angry. She was giving up on them.
"If this is what you want," Rowan slides the papers towards him and pulls out a pen.
Rowan is racing the familiar paths to their apartment. He doesn't care that it's almost four in the morning. The plane ride between Perranth and Ornyth is mercifully short, but he can't force himself to wait another minute.
"Aelin," he yells through their door. "Baby, answer me. Open the door."
Rowan's fists tap a consistent rhythm on the door, and his heart skips a beat when a bedraggled Aelin finally appears. "Rowan, do you know what time it is?"
She's in a pair of grey flannel pajamas, not one of her usual silky numbers. Aelin's eyes are red around the edges, and her face is still dewy from the excessive amount of lotion he knows she loves to put on. Rowan knows all of her routines. All of her favorite outfits, comfort movies, and best memories. He knows the scar she has on her left hand from an abusive foster father. Rowan remembers how the bridge of her nose wrinkles when she's upset in the same spot her cousin's does.
He knows everything about her, because not only were they husband and wife, they were best friends.
How could he have let that go?
Before Aelin can ask any more questions, Rowan has swept her into his arms. "I missed you so damn much."
"Rowan, have you been drinking?" Aelin asks in a voice cracked with emotion.
His hands are running up her back, and his knows burrows into her hair. He's always loved the smell of her jasmine shampoo. "Fireheart, I never resented you for losing the baby."
"Rowan, I don't want to talk about this," Aelin tries to push him away, but he squeezes her into his chest, and she melts.
That had been his mistake. He should have held Aelik like this and never let her go on pretending to be happy. How could he know everything about this woman and not have seen past her facade? She'd suffered. His own pain had blinded him.
"Aelin, I've made so many mistakes lately." Rowan rubs the back of Aelin's neck the way she likes, and he can feel the sobs starting to build up inside of her. "But the greatest shame of my life is not being there for you when you needed me. I was stupid, Fireheart. I'm not going to be stupid any longer. This separation can't go on, we aren't any happier for it, and I can't live knowing I'm away from the other half of my soul."
Aelin cracks, and he can feel the tears wetting the front of his shoulder. "You were never home. I thought there was someone else, someone who could give you the things you wanted because I can't."
Her whole form is shuddering his arms, and Rowan squeezes tighter as if he can hold her broken pieces together. "It's always been you. I don't care if we adopt or never have any kids at all. All I need is you, baby. You are all I've ever needed."
Suddenly, hands are in Rowan's hair as Aelin crushes their lips together. The kiss is frantic, a relief of the stress they'd carried upon their shoulders.
"I missed you too," Aelin whispers in between kisses. “Gods I mussed you so much.”
The rest of their night is filled with soothing words, frantic kissing, and murmured apologies. Rowan kisses the tears from her cheeks and Aelin looks into his eyes like she’s home. Nail dig into skin as they promise never to be apart again.
For the first time in months they sleep in the same bed. Rowan sinks into a deep restful sleep with his wife in his arms once more. He loves the way her cold toes search out his heat. How Aelin fits so perfectly against his chest. When he wakes up and she’s still there, his heart nearly features from relief.
After months of pain, it's the beginning of their walk towards healing.
The days after aren't perfect. They had legal issues to sort back out, more problems to lay bare to the sunlight. There was arguing, but it lacked actual heat, and they didn't walk away feeling unloved at the end. No longer did they fight to land barbs. Their bickering now served to work towards solutions and to express needs.
Between struggles, the love began to grow back. Rowan kept his job at work, and when he was home, it was about them. He started calling her on his breaks again, and it always astonished him how much he missed the sound of her voice. They both strived to communicate their feelings better and actually listen instead of reacting.
Aelin surprised him with romantic dates, and Rowan read pages of her favorite books to her at night. They danced in the kitchen and laughed at their favorite shows.
Fixing their marriage was hard work, but Rowan and Aelin didn't mind. The separation proved that neither of them wanted a life without the other. It was to whatever end, and they wouldn't accept anything less for them.
On one Sunday morning, Rowan opens his eyes and realizes that Aelin isn't on her side of the bed. Panic surges in him, and he looks around to make sure her things are still there.
They are, and the tension eases from his shoulders until he hears soft crying from the bathroom. Darting out of bed, he grabs Aelin's bathrobe and knocks on their bathroom door. "Aelin, what's wrong?"
Had he screwed something up? Was she sick?
The lock clicks, granting him silent permission for him to come inside. Rowan pushes the door open and finds Aelin crying on the side of the tup. With gentle hands, he wraps her robe around her and throws an arm over her shoulders. "What's wrong?"
Aelin looks up at him, a radiant smile on her face. "Look."
Rowan glances down to her clenched fists and-
He blinks, once, twice. Aelin laughs at his dumbfounded face, and it breaks his paralysis. Rowan grabs her around the waist and spins her around the cramped bathroom, the positive pregnancy test clattering to the floor.
Aelin's arms wrap around his neck. The emotion in the room is raw and bittersweet, but there's a hopefulness that can't be denied. Rowan holds her tight as they process the news. When they break apart, the love between them is palpable. They had another shot at this, a fresh start.
Hards times would come and go, but good days were never far behind for them. Because for Aelin and Rowan, it's always been them.
And that's all they needed.

"You're doing great, Y / N!"  my friend Tracy said.
I smirked.  I did a Cartwheel for the last time and then I stopped.
"Thank you, hon," I shouted at her.
She handed me a towel.  "Take it. Then we have to go,"  she muttered.
"Where?"  I was in no hurry.  Oh, I loved Fridays.
"At that party, you fool,"  she said.
I sighed.  "Tracy, no. I'm not going to that party."
"Buut ... at least for me."  she threw dog eyes at me.
"No. I don't understand why you want me there, at all. I'm not a party woman. I hate parties. And you'll have a bunch of buddies there. And your boyfriend."
"God, there's no fun with you. Fine. I'll go there alone. But how do you spend Friday night? Staring at the ceiling?"
We started walking to the parking lot.  I laughed.  "No, Tracy. I'll relax. I'll go to the bathtub. I'll open my wine ... relax. I deserve it."
She didn't say anything.  She just turned her head inconspicuously in some direction.  I turned and rolled my eyes.
Josh was there.  My .. what?  Classmate.  And he kept flirting with me, even though I told him a thousand times that I am not interested.
"You should give him a chance, Y / N."
Sweet Tracy.
Don't get me wrong, Josh is a great guy.  He's nice too.  Funny.  Athlete.
But he didn't attract me.
I was not interested in the relationship.  I was attracted to guys, yes, but ... I haven't dated anyone yet.  And that was strange, according to other people.
"Y / N! Are you going from gymnastics, aren't you? You look like a goddess. Let's go for coffee!"
I moved to my car, which he was leaning on.
I smiled falsely.  "Josh .. I am.... Not. Interested..."
He waved his hand.  "You're just saying that today."
I told him this every day, but okay.
"But you can change your mind tomorrow, can't she, Tracy?"  he winked at her.
Tracy nodded.  "As Y / N's best friend, I promise Y / N will be only yours for coffee tomorrow."
"Tracy!"  I hissed.
She just shrugged innocently.
"That's great. See you tomorrow, then!"  Josh hugged me and walked away.
"You're great. Not to hold my side, no."  I told her angrily.
"Come on. You need fun. You can't just ... give him a chance at least once. Go on a date with him. Poor boy, he's been trying for you for years."
Her cell phone rang.  I knew immediately who was calling her.  I wanted to roll my eyes.  Really?
"Love!! Yeah! Come after me, we'll meet ... yes, there. Don't wait. What? I love you too. Have a nice day, I'm sending kisses."  Tracy's voice changed completely as she spoke to her boyfriend.  But completely.
"I'll say goodbye to you now, Y / N. Goodbye, at school! And enjoy your date."  she, too, walked away and waved cheerfully at me.
I got angry in the car and sighed in defeat.
I stood in front of a huge luxury villa.  Yes, I live here.
I opened the door and a cat stopped at my feet immediately.  I leaned over.  "Mickey! You're hungry, aren't you?"
He whimpered in agreement.  I gave him granules and stroked him.  He was the only one in this house who kept me company.
I lived with my father.  He stopped here that very rarely.  He was really rich, he had his own business and he had some company.
I had a good relationship with him, but ... I missed him.  I didn't want to be alone.  I didn't have siblings and my mom ..
I looked at the painted picture. My father had her painted while she was still alive.
Yes, she died.  She died in a car accident when I was very young.  I don't remember her at all.
But she looked like me.  She had my hair and my eyes.
Okay, I'm going to relax.  I deserve it.
I was lying in the bathtub with my eyes closed.  I have dreamed.
"You're so beautiful, Y / N .." someone whispered to me.
"I love you," I said, holding someone's hand.
"I can't believe I finally married you."  someone said.
"Life is unpredictable .."
The smell of a candle hit my nose.  That wouldn't be weird, I lit the candle myself.  But what was strange was that ..
That I smelled a men's perfume.
I opened my eyes immediately.
An unknown man stood beside the bathtub, looking at me.  If it weren't for the bizarre situation, I would have thought he was attractive.  He had wide shoulders, an overgrown face, blond hair, blue eyes framed by stylish glasses.
I screamed in an instant.
What. The.  Fuck.  Is. This!
He immediately ran to me and stuffed my mouth.  "Be quiet, sweetheart. Please,"  he said in a rather pleasant voice.
I shook my head.  I didn't like it!  An unknown man was at my house!  And he probably wanted to kidnap me.
Suddenly male voices came from the hall.  I thought I heard my father.
My father is here.  Everything will be explained.
I calmed down.
The man noticed it too.  "I'll let go of my hand now, but you can't scream, do you promise?"
I nodded.
He released his hand, but at that moment I got up (yes, I got up naked from the bathtub) and left and put my feet on the floor.  I quickly took the only weapon I had and that was a hairdryer.
The man tried not to stare at my naked body, but he looked furious.  "What the fuck are you doing, girl?"
"If you don't tell me what's going on in a moment, I'll throw the hairdryer in the bathtub!"  I screamed.
"You're crazy."
I approached the bathtub.
"Would you like to kill yourself?"
"I have nothing else left! Tell!"  I shouted.
He shook his head.  "You'll find out at the right time ... well! Just don't get any closer to that fucking water!"  he shouted.
"Your father cheated on us and he has to pay for it. He's talking to my boss Mickey now."
"You're fucking kidding!"
"I don't, girl. And now, if you were so kind ..." he approached me.
He carefully took my hairdryer and I stared into space.  What?
I stomped on his leg, he screamed in pain and I wanted to run away from this bathroom, but he managed to grab me in his arms.
I swung in his arms like a furious puppy, and somehow he couldn't keep his balance and we both ended up in the bathtub again.
He was with me.
"Get off me! Immediately!"  I demanded.  I didn't like it, to hang out with a naked guy like that.
He took my hands.  I couldn't run away from him.  "If you try anything else, you'll just make trouble, young lady. Do you understand?"
I was silent.
"You understand?"  he repeated the question.
I nodded angrily.  What was I supposed to do?
He released me carefully and came out of the bathtub angrily.
He mumbled something under his nose, but I didn't listen to him.
I pressed my knees together.  I tried not to cry.  It's over with me.
"Do you have any clothes here?"  he asked me.
"I don't know," I said.
"Come on. Don't lie,"  he demanded an answer.
I gave it up.  "My father has something in that locker," I pointed to the locker.
The man walked over to her and opened it.  He started rummaging in it, but I didn't listen to him, I didn't notice.
It will be over with me.
I will die.
The man had changed in the meantime, but I wasn't looking at him.
I pressed my knees together and stared at the ceiling.
He walked over to me and looked at me regretfully.
"Put this on, please."  he held my clothes in his hand.
I had no desire to object.
I wanted to get up and fulfill his wish, but he stopped me.  "I'll leave your privacy. I'll be at the door."
I piled up and got dressed.  He was a gentleman.. who wants to kidnap me or something.
He locked the door and left.
HE ALREADY SAW ME NAKED but ok.
Dressed, I carefully opened the door.  He was there, leaning.  He offered me his shoulder, but I refused.
I walked into that fucking living room, where male voices came from.
I saw a few men.  Everyone in tuxedos and on the couch was sitting with my father.  He looked startled.
"Y / N!"  he shouted.
"What's going on, Dad? Will you kindly explain it to me?"
"I'd hear that, too," a man shrugged.
I ignored him and looked at my father.  "So?"
"Y / N, honey .. I didn't mean .."
"What did you do? Tell me straight."  I asked him.
"I ... I ... I had some business with them. I was late paying and ..."
"And?"
My father must have had something on his tongue, he didn't want to answer.
The guy answered me.  "He killed our man."
I felt sick.  "You're making fun of me, aren't you? My father wouldn't kill in his life ..."
"Confess to her."
"I'm sorry ..." my father looked at me.
I fell to my knees.  "Father, what did you do? You threw us in danger! We will die for you! You should not have gotten involved with any mafia!"
"I am sorry.."
"I don't want to hear anything from you anymore."  I wanted to cry, but I was silent.  I screamed inside.
The cat also broke into the living room.
"Mickey," I whispered and took him in my arms.  He has always been my support.
The man, apparently the boss of it all, was intrigued.  "What did you call him?"
"Mickey,"  I said.
The man who was in the bathtub with me laughed.
The boss frowned at him.  "What happened to you, Raymond? You're in a different outfit."
How could they be so callous?
"That's a long story,"  he said, looking at me.
I kept clutching Mickey, even though he was starting to get uncomfortable.
"Hey, let go of that cat, we need to talk."  the boss spoke to me.
"About what? Kill me right now,"  I shrugged.
The man laughed.  "No, it won't work that way. I have no plans to kill you. You're just a daughter ... of an evil father. You'll pay differently."
Sweat ran down my forehead.  "What are you going to do with my father?"
"It's none of your business anymore,"  he replied.
"Leave him alone. You better kill me."  I declared and finally released the cat.  He was running away from here.
He didn't want to be here.  Like me.
"Y / N!"  my father shouted, but I ignored him.
The boss scratched his chin.  "I call it ... child's love. Too bad your father doesn't love you that much. He offered your life to save his life."
For the second time, I felt like throwing up.
"What? That ... really?"  I looked at him.  I had tears in my eyes.  Finally, some tears.
It hurt.  Like hell.  My father wanted to say something, but I didn't listen to him.
My father betrayed me.
"But we won't grant his wish, will we, Ray?"
The man in the bathroom with me, apparently Raymond, nodded.
"Take the girl away, Ray."  the boss stood up.
Raymond came up to me.  I did not understand.
He took me.  "Come with me.."
"What, no!"  I shouted.
Raymond looked at me.  "Trust me, you don't want to see this. Come on."
"What..."
And then it went awry.  Raymond lost his temper with me, grabbed me hard, and took me away.  I didn't understand why.
And then I understood.
One of the boss's men aimed his gun at my father.  But my father did something weird.  He picked his gun by himself and shot himself in the forehead.
And suddenly I heard it.  The sound of a gun.
"No no!!!"  I screamed.
"Let me go!"  I shouted.  I already cried.  My father fell to the ground dead with a hole in the middle of his forehead.
"It's after him. It's his fault, sweetheart... he's decided that way ..."
He said something else to me, but I didn't notice him because I cried a lot.
I only heard snippets of sentences.
"... take her with you ...."
"... why me? I have nothing to do with her, Mickey ..."
"Don't ask me why, just do it until we decide what to do with her. She looks awful, put her to bed."
"Of course she looks awful. She lost her father ... I'll do as you say, boss ..."
Some days seem so boring.  Also, ordinary.  Immutable.  Nothing is happening.
And then there are such days.  When something happens that will change your life forever.

more Madrigal family headcanons (their Tics, Tells, and Dirty secrets.)
Someone sent help This is like my 4th one.
warning: spoilers...duh, some of these are kind of dark, EDs, unintentional self harm, anxiety and panic attacks, paranoia episodes, BAD OCD. I usually try to keep these light-hearted but I've been in the mood for angst.
"You fucked up a perfectly good family It's what you did! look at it. It's got anxiety!" Mirabel (at some point probably.)
Pepa PULLS at her hair when she's overstimmed and it's not pretty sometimes
Julieta zones out sometimes while cooking and when she makes a mistake she'll break down.
Bruno will practically slam his fist into his head to stop unwanted visions
Young Mirabel used to spend hours crying thinking that if she was prettier like her sister her Abuela would like her. she went days trying not to eat as much as possible so her body would match Isabela.
Dolores gets overwhelmed and slams her palms over her ears as she lets out a flurry of uncontrollable squeaks that hurt her throat and chest.
Luisa is scared to be affectionate with a partner. she's afraid she'll hurt them.
Camilo sometimes forget what he sound like and panic so bad he can't breath or see straight.
Antonio plays with his hands when he thinks he's being lied to. he doesn't mean to but some times when his familia says they love him his hands are drawn to each other.
Isabela spins her hair around her fingers when she's stressed about the future She does it so often small strands of hair will fall out.
Alma can't look at Bruno for too long because he looks too much like his father and Bruno's known for a long time while his mama can't look him in the eyes
Agustin doesn't like when his wife has to heal him ALL the time. It makes them feel guilty like she's less of a wife and more of a mother.
Felix loves the family but he wishes that him and his family could just leave and get their own house. He doesn't like that the family has to work so hard.
one of Pepa's darkest secrets is she was very detached from Camilo at birth. she didn't want to look at him for days. And even though they don't remember now that they're older she tends to overcompensate.
Julieta has frequent night terrors about her family dying or injured and she can't help them.
Bruno's ocd/superstitions gets so bad sometimes He becomes fully convinced that if he doesn't do what it is his brain is making him do his entire family will die and it will be all his fault
Mirabel's darkest secret is about how she accidentally burnt herself on her mama's hot pan but she liked how it felt and that made her feel disgusted with herself. But sometimes she can't help but think about doing it again on purpose.
Dolores darkest secret isn't particularly her own. But she knows that some of the children in the town aren't their fathers children. she knows everyone who's ever cheated and with who. and she can never tell anybody. So she keeps a journal of every dark secret she knows about everyone
Luisa feels resentment for the adults in her life. They didn't let her or any of her siblings or cousins be KIDS. She knows that she's supposed to help the community but SHE wanted to be a little girl who played with dolls and never had to stress. and she missed out
Camilo gets really jumpy when he haven't been himself for more than a few hours.
Antonio is slightly paranoid that one day his gift might not work or the animals just won't listen and he'll get hurt.
Isabela wishes she had been born a boy (not in a transgender way) but feels like she wouldn't have as much pressure on her shoulders to be married and perfect
Alma knows that Mirabel and Camilo used to be very close before He got his gift. She forced them apart. And while she still believes it was for the good of the family it's one of her biggest regrets.
Agustin was secretly glad his youngest daughter didn't get a gift. He doesn't feel bad about it but he knows he can never say anything.
Julieta heavily associates her worth with being maternal. So when Peppa could have another baby at 45 and she couldn't it took a very heavy toll on her mental health
Felix was kind of okay with the magic dying. His wife's power doesn't often feel like a "gift" when he sees what pain she's going through.
Bruno returned home but he's never really been the same as before he left. he eats very little even though there's plenty, He avoids eye contact at any cost, and he's so jumpy that it scares his sisters
Mirabel has tried to run away multiple times. She planned it out perfectly each time and the only thing that's kept her there for so long is that she didn't know Antonio would get his gift and Casita wouldn't let her leave after she found out he would be okay.
Dolores hears everything. And some of the things she hears makes her feel disgusting like she's imposing on people's privacy It's gotten so bad she'll completely shut down for hours or days.
Luisa doesn't want to have kids in fear that she'd only ever be too tough on them.
Camilo clicks his teeth twice randomly People usually think it's because he wants to be annoying but he genuinely can't help it.
Antonio taps his leg when he's anxious. which is a lot. It's not unusual to see a tiny handprint bruise on his leg from tapping all day.
Isabela's darkest secrets is sometimes she sneaks out of the house at night to do things "normal" teenagers do.
Alma doesn't really feel sorry for what she's done to everyone's health and how they interact as a family. She's sorry for the result of her actions. she's sorry she let Casita fall. nothing more.
Agustin knew what he was signing up for when he married into the family but as time went by he started to really notice how inferior he felt
Felix biggest regret is not standing up for Bruno. he knew he didn't mean harm and he could tell Bruno was joking at the wedding. but he wasn't even in the family yet he didn't want to risk it. so he forced himself to forget what he thought he knew.

WARNINGS: mentions of death, pregnancy
A/N: not sure if I like this or not lol, also it's not really proofread (actually yes i've proofread it about 50 times but my brain is barely functioning sksjdjdb) aaaand I still don't know how to end my fics
•••
You felt like you were living with a ticking time bomb waiting to blow off. You weren't sure what had caused Michael to be so cold and distant with you today but you knew that if it had anything to do with work, it was better to let him deal with it on his own. He had never been violent towards you —and you knew he would never be— but the idea of him raising his voice at you still made you nervous.
It all started this morning when he got up at about 5 to answer a call and didn't get back to bed after that. Instead he got dressed and left without a word, leaving you alone until he came back in the afternoon. You had figured Tommy must have needed him to take care of something important, but as the day went by and he was still in a mood it was getting clear that it had nothing to do with business.
"My mom wants to pay us a visit next week." you speak hesitantly as Michael walks through the door. He quickly walks past you, whispering a small "alright" on his way.
"She said she has a surprise for us. Probably has to do with the baby." you try to smile but he avoids your gaze. He only nods before grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl and leaving the room silently. Your watch him walk away with concern, the worst thoughts starting to occupy your mind.
Was he seeing someone else? Was he planning on breaking up with you?
You glanced down at your growing bump and shook your head before going back to the dishes, trying not to overthink the situation.
But soon enough, you grew tired of the deafening silence in the house and the lack of company. Michael was definitely avoiding you, staying in his office while you sat alone in the living room, trying to read a book to ease your nerves. With a sigh you closed your book and placed it on the couch next to you before making your way over to your husband's office, determined to get answers.
You didn't even bother to knock before bursting in, causing Michael's head to shoot up and his hand to instinctively reach for the drawer where his gun was safely tucked. He relaxed and leaned back on his chair when he saw you then ran a hand through his hair, sighing heavily.
"What is it, Y/N?"
"What is it?" you scoff. "You've been avoiding me all day, I want to know why." you crossed your arms over your chest, leaning against the doorframe as you waited for an answer.
"I'm not avoiding you." he spoke lowly, as if already annoyed by your presence.
"Oh yeah? Then why are you locked in your office on a sunday, not bothering to speak to me and brushing me off like I'm some stranger you don't want to cross path with?" he doesn't answer and keeps sifting through his papers and writing things down. "Michael, Im talking to you!" you raised your voice.
"Fucking hell Y/N, just leave me alone! You’ve been here all day trying to get me to talk when I clearly don't fucking want to talk to you! You really can't take a hint, can you? Just get the fuck out of here!” he suddenly yells as his first collides with the desk, making you flinch. Your body tenses and the room fills with a heavy silence as you stare at each other, his eyes hard and cold while your own fill with tears, trying hard not to let them slip. You were already a pretty emotional person, but your pregnancy made it all worse so it was obvious you'd start tearing up at the slightest confrontation. After a moment he rips his gaze away from yours and you open your mouth before closing it again. Your heart is beating fast in your chest and you can almost feel a wave of nausea.
"I'm just trying to help, Michael." you murmur, voice shaking.
"Well I don't need your help!"
After a few seconds you walk out of the room, closing the door behind you and allowing yourself to sob.
You hear a few muffled curse words coming from the office as you make your way back into the living room, soon followed by the sound of the door opening.
"Fuck, Y/N, wait!" Michael suddenly calls out, storming out of the room and running after you. Before you knew it his arms are wrapped around your waist from behind, his thumb tracing circles over your belly as he holds you close. You don't try to push him away but you sob into your hands in shame of not being able to control yourself around him, your hormones getting the best of you.
"I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry. Fuck, I didn't mean any of this." he spoke softly, in complete contrast with his previous outburst. He holds you and waits for your sobs to die down, occasionally pressing kisses on your cheeks and neck while his hand rubs your belly in a soothing manner. "I'm sorry, love. I love you so much." he chokes on his words as tears escape his eyes as well.
You try to focus on your breathing and control your sobs as you wipe your tears, holding your arms close to yourself while looking down.
"We're having a baby, Michael." you remind him. "You can't keep everything to yourself and just let me sit and watch when you're going through something. You can't just avoid me like the fucking plague whenever you're upset. Not anymore." you manage to say, a few hiccups cutting you mid-sentence as you speak.
"I know baby. I'm so sorry." Michael takes a deep breath before pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek. He's silent for a few more seconds, swinging you back and forth in his arms and letting you calm down before speaking up.
"My foster mom died." he finally admits softly. His arms tighten around you, refusing to let you go in fear that you would leave. Your eyes soften and you reach to rest a hand on his cheek, leaning up to press a small kiss to his jaw.
"I'm sorry." you say softly.
"I shouldn't have left her like I did. I abandoned her when I met the Shelbys and," he sighs. "I don't know. I shouldn't have cut all ties with my foster family so suddenly. Now it's too late and the woman who raised me for most of my life will never get to see my daughter." you stay silent for a moment, trying to think of an answer.
"She knew you loved her. And she also knew the life you had with her was not the life you were meant to live. You were raised as Henry, but deep down you've always been Michael. I'm sure she never blamed you for leaving." you say and he nods. You eventually let go of his embrace and turn around to wrap your arms around his waist, hugging him as properly as you can with your 5 months pregnant belly getting on the way. You both stay silent for a moment, his hand running through your hair soothingly.
"I really wish you'd told me sooner."
"I'm sorry, Y/N, I really am. I know stress is bad for the baby and I didn't want you to worry about me but I ended up doing the exact opposite." you pulled back and kissed him softly, reaching up to wipe a tear from his cheek.
"It's alright. Just promise me you won't keep these kind of things to yourself anymore. I lost my father too, you know. I know what it's like to lose someone you love." Michael nods before kissing you again, letting it linger for a moment before pecking your lips again.
You look up at him with a smile before pulling away to rest your hands on your belly, looking down at your clothed skin which grew more and more with each day.
"She's been kicking a lot lately." you smile.
"Yeah?"
"Mhmm." you nod and watch as he gets down on one knee, lifting your shirt up and kissing your growing skin as your hands rest on your hips. You chuckle at the feeling and place his hand above your belly button, your own resting on top of his, waiting for something to happen. You eventually guide his hand a few inches lower and a huge smile breaks on both your faces when you feel a rather hard kick, quickly followed by a second one a little further away from the first.
With one last kiss to your swollen skin Michael gets back on his feet and cradles your face, pulling you in for a passionate kiss which you gladly return.
"You're going to be the most amazing mom."

Strawberry | Chapter 12 | Flames
Summary: Will joins the family dinner. The night can hide many things.
Rating: (+18) for…situations.
A/N: I'm SO SORRY for the long hiatus. Please accept this peace offering (jealous!Din) as a token of my gratitude.
TAG LIST: @t3a-bag @lumimon47 @dodgerandevans @hallway5 @dancingwiththeplanets @steeevienicks @orneryscandallousandevil @ficthots @gaiusfrakkinbaltar @reginagina-blog1 @loveme-tenderly @lastphoenixrising @rattlemyb0nes @rebellou @alljusthumans @gaiuswrites @lovecatsnotpeople
The symposium of a midwestern dinner sounds a lot like Bach's work.
Difficult notes with high to reach places and then very low caverns just a moment later. The cicadas in the background are a nice touch; it's something Tchaikovsky might have wished he could capture. Silverware - old enough to be considered vintage now - clank against the porcelain dinner plates. Charlotte lets out her fae-like laughter and Rhea listens intently, eyes gazing dreamily upon Tommy as he carries on conversation. The house is full tonight.
You suppose it was out of the kindness of your father's heart to invite Will to this dinner. Everyone within a two mile radius usually came to these spur-of-the-moment things. Will was an old family friend and his father supplied yours with fresh goat's milk and chicken eggs, so it wasn't all that strange he came along. Still, it made the meal a bit more difficult to swallow. Quite literally.
Din is sitting directly across from you. You think it might have been intentional because Will chose to plop his happy ass right beside you, grinning that lopsided smile and charming his way out of the discomfort with a joke. You play the part by laughing when he tries to outwit everyone in the room or by asking him how the farm manages these days. Will isn't a cocky person by nature, but something about the rigidness of his composure when Din asks for the green beans makes you all too suspicious.
It doesn't make any sense. Will broke things off with you. If he were to be jealous, it wouldn't be for anything but pride and show. A year ago it would've bothered you that Will was cajoling the room for the sake of his vanity, but now it was just embarrassing for everyone involved.
"Din, do you remember the summer of '90?" your father asks across the table, clearly involved in another conversation that pertains to this anecdote.
The man across you hums and shakes his head with a reluctant grin. "I try not to," he fibs, cutting at his steak.
Your father chuckles. "I was nineteen and Din was..." he pauses. "Jeez, Din. How old were ya?"
"Seventeen."
"Ah, right! Rhea hadn't been born yet but Scarlett was pregnant with her by the end of the summer. That was our last free year, wasn't it? Well, mine anyway." You dad points his fork in Rhea's direction, a bit of steak dangling from its end. "And then you came along."
Rhea scoffs. "Well, geez. My bad for existing."
There's no darkness in either of their words so the exchange makes everyone at the table chuckle in good humor. Your father and Din go back and forth about the irresponsible and, well, illegal things that had been done that summer. Underage drinking. Trespassing. And somehow Din always got away with it.
"He never got us caught. Ever. I still don't know how you did it." Your father says to his friend, eyes wrinkling with a genuine smile. "Damn good thing too considering how much pot we smoked. It's a good thing my girls didn't get that rebellious streak."
A witty response is formed upon your lips but only until Will cuts you off.
"I don't know about that," he pipes in.
You're taken aback, quite literally tossing your head to gauge his interjection. "What?"
An indifferent silence hushes the dinner party. Your sisters chew their food carefully, eyes glued upon the scene before them like it was one of their soap operas. Your father awaits an explanation with a rather scandalized look upon his face, but Will's father - Clarence - doesn't seem at all fazed by any probability of illegal activity.
Will rolls his chin to serve you an exasperated look. "Oh, come on. We're adults now; we can come clean." He drenches his steak in more A1 sauce before revealing: "Your daughter was the one to egg the sheriff's house."
The entire room initially goes as silent as a graveyard before everyone chokes on a snort and begins to roar with laughter. Clarence slaps your father on the back as the two of them snicker like a pair of hyenas.
"Will!" you growl. "You said you'd take that to your deathbed!"
The pain in the ass beside you howls with laughter, holding his stomach, and having to pause from drinking his beer. "Daffi, it's fine. They can't do anything about it now."
"That's not the point!" you scowl.
Din is grinning from ear to ear, obviously amused by your humiliation. It was a childish thing to do but the sheriff was a dick in the worst way and you wanted him to know it. That was a hot summer - record breaking, actually - and by the time he'd woken, the egg had dried upon his lawn and across the face of his home. Ole' Sheriff Winslow scoured the town for weeks before finally abandoning his quest altogether.
"You got something to say, Mister Djarin?" you inquire playfully, scolding him with a fire in your eyes.
Din clears his throat and furrows his brows. "No, no. I wouldn't dare."
The two of you exchange a glance that was far too intimate for this dining room. His eyes softened upon meeting yours and his smirk was silly, drunk on something other than the beer in his hand. If it weren't for dear Will's additional reminiscence, you might've fallen under the spell lingering in the space between you.
"Yeah, that was a great summer. We had our first kiss that year, remember?"
You blink, all thoughts of Din's mouth upon yours fizzling away like steam. Instead, it is replaced with the frayed-edged memory of Will's rusted pick-up parked in the darkest corner of the local McDonalds. It was hardly a first kiss worth mentioning if it hadn't been for how good he was at it and how bad you were. Still: what the fuck?
You wanted to say just that but refrained from doing so. Instead you say, "Lots of awkward fumbling if I recall." It comes out sharp - petty. If he wanted to behave like a child, you could do it too.
Din's trying so desperately hard not to glare at Will. You can see it in the deliberate chug of his beer.
-
“What. The. Hell.”
“I know.”
“Wait,” Charlotte holds up a hand, expression dumbstruck. “I’m not done.”
You roll your eyes and scrub at a particularly stubborn dish, waiting for her dramatics to be over.
“…was that?” she finishes.
Rather anti-climactic.
“It’s Will,” you tell her, voice bored but teetering on the edge of fury. “It’s fucking Will. What do you expect?”
Charlotte shakes her head, eyes bulging with disbelief as she blinks over and over again as though trying to compute. She takes a dish from you, sopping wet, and begins to dry it with a rag. You know Charlotte is eager to gossip because she never - never - offers to help clean after supper.
Everyone else is carrying on from the awkward conversation by sitting at the bonfire and making pudgy-pies. It’s the kind of snack one eats when they need to forget about anything other than the impending weight gain. You watch from the window as Rhea slathers Nutella upon a piece of white bread and then some cut strawberries. Honestly, you could really go for one, but the idea of being anywhere near Will makes your skin crawl.
“Did he say anything to you? Before dinner? Or after? Like…why would he say something like that?” Charlotte carefully stacks the delicate plates atop each other. They clank against one another noisily.
Like cymbals within the symphony.
“Nope,” you tell her. “Not a word. I have no idea what’s gotten into him.”
Charlotte goes silent, rubbing at the plates until they’re dry as a bone, and then whispers, “He obviously knows.”
You square your jaw, glancing around to make sure no one is in the vicinity, and then let out a great sigh. “Yeah, I’m sure he does. I was all over Din at the bar.”
Your dear sister brightens at the mention of the night prior. She stops her drying and places her hands upon your shoulders so that you may look her in the eyes. You see mahogany. Deep. Rich. Full of life and excitement. In her eyes, it is proof that she’s a good spirit and in good health. (And…well, maybe a little tipsy, but that’s besides the point.)
“I like him. For you.” Is what she confesses. She places her hands upon your cheeks and squishes them together. You protest, taking her wrists and wrestling her, but giggling all the while. “I mean it. I think he adores you. And so do I.”
You nod in her grasp. “Okay, okay! I know, yes. I know!” you chuckle, breathless from the lack of air supply. She still has you in a chokehold. “Can you please let me go now?!”
Charlotte releases you from her trap and you gasp a throat-full of air, belly aching from laughter. The two of you embrace one another in a hug, attempting to lift the other, and then falling upon the linoleum - sore with serenity.
-
There is something stirring in Din.
It is a fire that has just been fanned from embers he sought to snuff out. But they hadn’t perished, despite how hard he had tried. The coals burned. He burned.
For you.
At the bar, Din ignored Will to the best of his ability; sort of like how one ignores an irritating bumblebee. Leave him be, Din had chanted. He’s harmless. After all, Din had years stacked against Will. How was it possible to be so insecure by this kid?
Because that’s essentially what he is, right? He’s so goddamned young; he looks as though he’s never taken a hit in his life. He’s too pretty, too put together. He’s firm skin and tight abs. And Din, well…
Din was not.
Din was old. He was well past forty years of age now, playing house with a woman over twenty years his senior. No matter how well he managed to keep the façade so believable, it would one day end in disaster - embarrassment. Heartache. And defeat. He can’t bear the thought.
It wasn’t like him. He’s never given a shit about anyone’s perception of him before, nevertheless mulled over the ex of a romantic interest. Not to say that Din’s ever felt the way he did with you; no one has even come close. Xian was his longest “situationship” and when it inevitably burst into flames, he didn’t bat an eye. (He wonders if that makes him a terrible person.) If his toxicity with Xian was worth anything, it was just a testament of his endurance.
But you. The world fucking blurs when you’re near.
So when Will - cocky as Din once was - utters unsolicited bullshit, it takes every ounce of dignity he has left to remain silent.
We had our first kiss that year, remember?
There is a primal urge to reach across the table and wring the smug expression from Will’s face, to grab you with an unfamiliar hunger, carry you across the acre, and toss you onto his bed and just…
No. That was brutish. He wasn’t like that. He couldn’t allow himself to feel possessive over you because you couldn’t be owned. He knew that. But that fire licked at his inner conscious until he had to excuse himself from dinner altogether.
The darkest parts of him pace during the bonfire, though he manages to sit still and interpret Will’s behavior. His youth glows betwixt the crazed flames, an ombré of red and orange dancing across everyone’s skin. Din watches, he listens, he notes every little thing like hunters do. Because for some reason - some ungodly, twisted reason - Din felt as though Will were a bounty now. It’s the only way he could feel superior.
“Daffodil!” Will calls out suddenly. “Get over here!”
The hinges in Din’s jaw pop as he clenches his teeth, grinding them so forcefully he thinks Rhea - who sits beside him - might hear. When you arrive from the house (he guessed you were cleaning up, just as you always do), he notes the skimpy length of your cotton shorts and…
Wait. Is that his shirt?
It is. It’s the very same shirt Din offered you after the rain debacle after the bar. It was one of his favorites despite how plain it was; just a grey t-shirt that fit snugly on him but dwarfed you entirely. It skimmed the top of your knees and pressed against the swell of your chest. That something within him growled once more.
“Come sit,” Will instructs, patting at his lap.
You hesitate. “I…”
Will chuckles, urging you with waggling fingers. “We’ve been like this since we were kids, Daffi. Come on.”
There’s a pathetic attempt to steady himself as Din watches you perch upon Will’s lap.
You’re wearing his shirt. You’re wearing his shirt. You’re wearing his shirt. You’re wearing his shirt…
The group chats a while longer, exchanging stories Din’s never heard, but none of it matters. You’re on another man’s lap. And despite Mark’s very obvious presence, he wants so badly to grip your wrist and run.
“I’ve seen you before,” Will says suddenly. He points a finger in Din’s direction, eyes a little hooded from drink. “Weren’t you at the bar a couple of nights ago?”
Those who partook in the rendezvous go silent. Rhea freezes and Charlotte blanches, looking towards their dear sister who’s pale in the face now. Mark, in his sheer oblivion, raises a brow. Din’s been in every intense situation imaginable, but something about now makes his gut churn.
He could loose you. Right now.
He’s about to lie, to make up some bullshit excuse about having ‘one of those faces’, but Rhea pipes in.
Her voice is strong and firm when she says, “What the hell are you talking about? He wasn’t there.”
Effortless. Shoulders sag, the tension subsiding thanks to Rhea’s impeccable skill.
“Strange. Swore I saw you with…” he shakes his head and shrugs. “Never mind.”
An artificial laugh - so sickly sweet that it’s almost impossible to digest - escapes your lips. “You must’ve drank too much. It wouldn’t be the first time.”
-
His kiss takes you by surprise.
You’re walking back to the house after the men have soiled the fire and everyone’s said their good nights when he just does it.
It’s covertly enough, but it’s shocking. A massive hand encircles your wrist and pulls you behind the shed out back, pressing you against the mossy wood and stealing the breath from your lungs. It’s the biggest risk the two of you have taken. For God’s sake, your father is just now walking inside the main house and Din’s mouth is attached to the hollow of your neck.
You’re dizzy, gripping his shoulders so tightly that the fabric of his shirt warps beneath your fingers. “Din,” you breathe out. He kisses you speechless again and you break for air. “Din, what’s the matter?”
He curses under his breath. It’s sharp. Fuck. It’s not angry, per say, but it is damaged. You weave your fingers through his hair as he settles his breathing, concentrating on the strings of your shorts that he fiddles with.
“I…” He sighs, pressing his nose against your cheek. His breath is warm and you shiver. “He touched you.”
He sounds ashamed. Embarrassed. You can’t imagine how difficult it must be to vocalize your self-doubt as someone who relishes in secrecy. He had a wall built around him and it was made of iron.
“Not like you,” you whisper shyly.
You had some walls of your own. He was tearing them down like that of Jericho.
There’s softness in the air. The two of you are silent, eyes closed, and mouths inches apart. Exchanging of breath. It’s an ancient form of intimacy.
You trust him. You trust him with your life.
His hand feels natural in your own as you lift it to your breast. The trembling of his fingers is almost endearing; the man was far older than you and he still shook at the mere touch of a woman.
“No one can touch me like you.” Your hands glide south, pressing underneath the fabric covering the raw parts of you, until you stop at the band of your panties. “No one can.”
It’s all he needs to hear.
Soon after, he kisses you fiercely, but not without nodding in agreement. And that very hand, which grazes so deliciously at your belly, finally dips.
Sparks.

Dante's Prayer - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
The 2nd part of the Ball, hope you guys will like it. Let me know what you think about this. A big thanks to my beta @fortheloveoffanfic for keeping me on track with the characters 😉
Warnings: cursing
Words: 2094
"Mrs. Gray, why don't we retreat to the parlour for a drink and leave the men to talk their business." Helene suggested linking her satin gloved arm with Polly's and led her away from Thomas and her husband, nodding at the two men in parting.
"Lady McCann, please call me Polly, after all, we'll be family soon once the wedding is done." the Shelby matriarch told her nephews soon-to-be mother in law with a smile, the two women nearly gliding over to the smaller parlour of Castletown House.
Returning the smile, the duchess nodded her head. "By all means, then I'm Helene. We will be family soon, given that my daughter won't bail on us." A soft sigh left her lips, knowing Saoirse could be difficult. "Your nephew will have his work cut out for him, I reckon."
"Oh he'll learn how to deal with it. I have a good feeling that once they'll get to know each other they'll find common ground." The words were reassuring, yet both women knew that it would take a while for their children - in Polly's case she felt like her brother's children were just like her own - to warm up to the idea of sharing a life together.
Arriving at the doors separating the sitting room from the grand ballroom, Helene nodded at the butler, who let them enter. They sat down at the round table, plush armchairs providing comfort as the Birmingham resident looked around the room. Polly thought back to the time when she had to work hard to provide for her family and be there for Ada and Finn during the war, and all she could feel was gratefulness toward Tommy who was able to give them the life they led now.
"Has Thomas told you what he wants his wedding to be like?" the mother of three inquired, nodding at the butler in thanks for bringing them both refreshments and leaned back into the high-backed armchair. "I gather now that it is his second wedding he might want to change a few things."
Taking a sip from the champagne, the gypsy lightly shook her head. "So far, he hasn't said anything. He only does this out of duty to the family. I told him it was a good deal, but other than that he's not going to object to anything. All I can ask of you is considering a custom my family on my mother's side has partook in every time during a wedding." Polly wasn't too sure, the duchess would agree to traditions of the travelling folks but the soft smile on her face and the light nod gave her hope.
"I haven't always been a duchess, Polly." the blonde lady started, holding the Flute glas in her hand and watching the champagne sparkle in the soft glow of the lamps. "My mother originated from Germany, her cousin married the emperor of Austria and she was made Empress of Austria and Hungary. I often visited her when I was still a child and Sisi would visit the travelling folks of Hungary. Not all is as it seems, my daughter has the same spirit in her as Elizabeth did. Headstrong, modern, loyal to a fault, kind and with a childish wonder the war has snuffed out in many people. I do hope that Thomas won't try to do what the war hasn't been able to do. Despite me agreeing to this arrangement without her consent, she is still my little angel and I will grant you your customs just like we have ours, but should your nephew hurt her in any way, he will wish for war to take him again."
Nodding her head, Polly grinned at Helene, knowing they would get along splendidly. Protective of her family, just like herself, the Shelby matriarch knew that there was a good future ahead, bright was still to be questioned, but good at least.
Just then the decorated glass doors of the light coloured parlour flew open, a disheveled looking Arthur standing there, eyes ablaze and his face red from anger.
"Did ya know, Pol?" he asked storming over to his aunt, hands already grabbing for her arms. "Did ya know 'bout 'er, hm?"
Polly had never been someone to be frightened or threatened, especially not by her family, so she wouldn't start now and still Arthur always had a soft spot in her heart. Delivering a hard slap, she pushed the eldest of the brothers away from her, regret shining in her eyes. "What the fuck are ya talkin' about, Arthur?"
"I'm fuckin' talking about Niamh." he glared, his cheeks already turning a darker shade of red from anger and the hit he received. "She's been here all them years, pregnant with ma son, so 'm askin' again: did ya know 'bout it?"
Wide eyed, Polly felt the wheels in her head turning, remembering the girl Arthur had left behind to marry Linda, the redheaded beauty in the back of the church. "She was at the wedding, didn't say a thing, just left when it was over. That's all I know."
Letting out a heavy sigh, Arthur stumbled back into the armchair on the other side of his aunt, closing his eyes to order the thoughts in his head flitting about like butterflies. "What am I gonna do now?" Polly moved over to him, pulling Arthur into a tight hug because she knew it was hard on him.
Even though she wasn't a fan of Linda, her nephew loved her and she had to live with that. Now he needed to make a decision on what to do with the mother of his first child. "You need to talk to her, that much is clear. And get to know him, too."
Nodding his head against his aunt's belly, Arthur felt a small portion of the weight lifting of his shoulders. Linda would be furious, she already was with him leaving for Ireland to be part of the wedding preparations. Nothing had been decided yet, but the eldest Shelby had a distinct feeling, that Lady McCann would want the ceremony to take place in their home and he already dreaded the day the whole family would again sit on Tommy's side of the church and Linda coming face to face with his former lover and mother of his first son.
Tumblr media
"I thought you'd have ta greet guests." he said, a cigarette perched between his lips as he watched his wife-to-be gazing at the sky.
"And I thought you would talk about business with my father." she replied, a smirk grazing her features and might he say it looked more like a small smile than a smirk.
Her body leaned against the banister and Tommy couldn't help but let his eyes roam over it, breathing in the smoke of the cigarette he had missed all evening. "There's not much business to talk about when there's a wedding about to take place."
Nodding her head, Saoirse turned her face towards his own as he leaned against the stone parapet next to her. "I hope Arthur has calmed down again after his encounter with Niamh when I left." she said after a moment of silence.
"Ach, he's fine. Needs to talk to her, though." Tommy shrugged, his stormy blues void of emotion as he stubbed out the cigarette on the banister. "His wife's goin' to have his hide, but he'll get over it."
Shaking her head, Saoirse looked away from the gang leader, feeling like the little progress they had made went up in smoke just like the cigarette. "You shouldn't be so indifferent to the feelings of others, one day you might not have anyone left to turn to."
"Often enough you only have yourself to rely on." he replied before he stood again, running a hand through his short hair and holding the other out to her. "We shouldn't make your guests believe that we hate each other, it's bad for business."
Snorting, the youngest of three took his hand, feeling the warmth of Tommy's skin through the satin of her glove as he led her inside to the ballroom. "Who said anything about me liking you? I don't really care what my guests think, mother's guests on the other hand, that would be a shame. After all, they came all the way from Austria and London."
"I see, you're not going to make it easy for me, are you?" he wondered, twirling her around so they could dance to the waltz the orchestra started to play. "What is this marriage going to look like, hm?"
Putting her left hand on his shoulder, Saoirse mentally thanked her mother for making her take the dance lessons in Vienna or else the future bride of Birmingham's most known gangster would have been an embarrassment. Her right hand delicately laid in his left and she couldn't help but wonder if they could do more than just hold a gun and kill. "I believe you'd like me to play the obedient wife, staying at your house and doing nothing, what with your fortune now. I heard you have a son, so probably be a mother to him, while you go out and do whatever you do."
"So, ya do know something 'bout me." he smirked, leading her across the grand room, unaware of the other dancers and their families. The pair danced in their own world and voiced their opinion on the upcoming union. "And here I thought ya didn't know anything."
"My sisters talk, Mister Shelby, although I didn't know which one my husband-to-be was, I still heard their opinions on you loud and clear."
The smirk on his lips widened at the thought of what Amalie and Louise had told their sister. "An' what pray tell did they tell ya?"
"Oh, you know, that you're a gangster, cold as ice, a former war hero and would do anything to get money." Saoirse shrugged, trying to rile him up as she saw his blue eyes darken. Tommy knew that he had to keep it cool. It wouldn't do him good to drag her off and…no, he wouldn't yell at her and make a scene, that would break the deal he made with her mother. He'd rather enjoy the rest of his life while it lasted.
Pulling her tighter into his body, he felt a satisfied grin make its way onto his face at her gasp. "You'd do well to keep those comments to a minimum. That money you so kindly brought up will grant you safety among Birmingham and the rest of England and Scotland. I don't want another of me wife killed because she wouldn't listen and had a mind of her own."
"Well then, you'd better look for another wife because I can be just as stubborn as you, Mister Shelby."
"I'd rather not. You're more than enough." Wincing at the thought of having to go through that process again, Tommy shook his head. The music had changed and another waltz was played. "Besides, finding a good woman that freely accepts my son is quite rare in these times."
Pursing her lips, Saoirse looked up into his stormy blue eyes. "I couldn't imagine someone not liking your son. Judging by what Louise told me about him, I take it he's a ray of sunshine."
"Are you really trying to make me hate you right now? But yes, Charlie is in fact a ray of sunshine despite having me as his father." Before the youngest daughter of the Duke could say anything, Tommy had twirled her outward, keeping his eyes on her face as he read the delight written all over it.
He couldn't help but enjoy these moments, couldn't remember the last time he danced like this with anyone that hadn't been Grace. When Saoirse had returned to his arms, she sent him a grin, a genuine one at that. "I'm not trying to make you hate me, I was stating a fact and to be honest I can't wait to meet your son."
Nodding his head at her answer, he led her around the ballroom for one final dance. "In two weeks you will meet him, so I do hope you won't change your mind about this arrangement."
"Don't do anything to make me change it and I'll be there." she answered him, her right hand squeezing his left tighter than before and Tommy couldn't help but grin at her attempt to threaten him. Life would be a lot more interesting once the wedding was over.

Hi! Anon form HP's classmates ask. After reading the Lavender, Parvati, Dean, and Seamus, I forgot to ask you these: Cedric (I don't think you did him), Cho (pretty sure you didn't do her), and Marietta (even though we barely see anything of her). Oh and also Colin if you can. If it's too long just do the first two. Thanks, and have a good and safe day! =)
Well, I have to confess, these will probably be a lot more boring than you’re expecting. I do tend to have opinions on arbitrary Harry Potter characters, but there’s also a lot of NPCs that, well, I really don’t think about them much. They’re kids, they go to school, seem nice enough, the end.
Not all my opinions are made of spice.
But, with that, let’s begin.
Cedric Diggory
Really not much to say on him.
Seems like a nice enough guy, I appreciated that he was a Hufflepuff so we got to see at least someone from that house that was a really cool dude, the house division also helped explain why we’d seen and heard so little about him (I think he gets a brief mention as being Seeker for Hufflepuff in Prisoner of Azkaban).
For me, what stands out about him is mostly the tragedy. Here was this young man, in the prime of his life, with his whole future ahead of him who senselessly dies.
Had he not accompanied Harry, he would have lived, and it was pure unfortunate luck that he did. And then it’s over so quickly, just a demand of “kill the spare” and he’s dead. That’s it, it’s all over.
And then his death is made a mockery of, overwritten, then willfully forgotten by society.
He’s used as evidence by Harry and Dumbledore for Voldemort’s return, his murder is pinned on Harry by the government, and by the time the government admits to what happened they’ve moved on to bigger problems.
We only really see the mourning of Cedric from his father and later Cho. Harry’s messed up about it, but it was more from witnessing the event, he didn’t really know Cedric that well as a person. In fact, he feels very awkward and put out when it becomes clear that, a few months later, Cho is not handling her boyfriend having been murdered by a dead man very well.
And that’s what strikes me about him, just how easily he’s forgotten, and how sad it all is.
Cedric might be the reddest of red shirts in Harry Potter.
Cho Chang
I wish more had been done with Cho.
I know, I know, we get a lot of Cho.
But we get Cho in the context of Harry’s first romance, his crush that later sets him up for Harry/Ginny (JKR is fond of using other pairings to set up her main pairing, we see this also with Ron/Lavender). They give it a whirl, Harry finally gets what he wants, and it turns out to not really be his thing.
Cho is too girly, enjoys things like Madame Puddifoots, and is clearly still hung up on Cedric. The whole thing ends very awkwardly and we get a Harry who’s ready to move on to Ginny by book six.
That said, that’s what I like about Cho. She has this great boyfriend who she really liked, he dies horrifically and tragically, and she’s left trying to sort through the aftermath. She ends up clinging to Harry as he is a) Harry Potter and essentially Jesus b) the only witness to what happened to Cedric. To her, I imagine, she and Harry share this unbreakable bond after fourth year. She was closest to Cedric in the school, the only one who truly seems to want to mourn him, and Harry watched Cedric die.
Cho lives in this world where Cedric’s death has been made a political issue. That his dying seems not to have mattered, indeed, is barely discussed so much as the manner in which he died. People are constantly fighting whether a deranged Harry did it, Voldemort came back, and Cedric gets forgotten somewhere in the middle.
And Cho tries to move on, she tries to embrace the fight against Voldemort, prepare herself to defend her nation and help fight against the man who murdered Cedric, but it just doesn’t work out. Because ultimately, they’re a bunch of kids in a room practicing the patronus. And even in the DA, despite acknowledging that Voldemort’s back, it’s still never about Cedric. It’s all about Voldemort and what’s coming, Cedric, oh yeah, poor guy, what a tragedy, the first casualty of war.
So, mostly I just feel very bad for Cho, and wish we could have seen more of her to see what the effect death has on people. We have Harry’s reaction to Sirius’ death but... in a weird way he actually gets over that kind of quickly. This isn’t the post for it, but to me Harry was always more upset by the loss of what Sirius represented than Sirius himself.
Marietta Edgecombe
Marietta does not deserve the hate she gets. Sure, she decided to leave the DA and snitched. But you know what, they’re fifteen year olds in a boarding school, and the DA while stupid was also kind of terrifying.
I mean, you suddenly find yourself in a group called “Dumbledore’s Army”, which is actively preparing itself for “fighting against the dark lord” and possibly “against those who deny his return”. The club has all these rules about secrecy, which at first seem reasonable as it’s against the rules, but then start sounding pretty scary. It sounds like you just signed up to launch a coup against the ministry on Albus Dumbledore’s behest. Had I been in DA,I like to imagine at some point I’d start thinking “what the actual fuck?”
More than that, Marietta’s family is on the line. Her mother works for the ministry. Her mother could be fired or perhaps even persecuted if this got out. Shit starts getting very real for Marietta.
So, Marietta leaves and snitches, and then she gets stitches.
Hermione gleefully scars and deforms her, something Marietta will carry with her for the rest of her life. I mean, can you imagine if Hermione had said, “Oh, by the way, if you rat us out I will personally murder you. Just kidding, but I will cut up your face, snitch” that anyone would react well? Which is probably why Hermione just stuck to an ominous vague warning instead. The true noble members, after all, would never think of leaving.
So yeah, given Hermione, actually given all of it (including Harry’s complete lack of sympathy for Marietta being branded when Cho tries to bring up her situation) the DA absolutely should have been shut down. My god, it was spiraling out of control, and given Harry and Hermione could have honestly gotten to the point where they took out hits on, oh I don’t know, Draco Malfoy.
You laugh, but I’m serious, they would totally do that.
Colin Creevy
It’s very bold of JKR to assume I care at all about Colin.
Colin’s one of the typical HP NPCs, quirky enough to be memorable, gives us a nice muggleborn student, weird kid but around enough that we remember him.
Then he dies in the Battle of Hogwarts, where many of our main characters survive, and I’m supposed to be absolutely devastated. COLIN IS DEAD, FRED IS DEAD, THE WORLD IS SO SAD.
We barely know Colin, his dying is just there to wrack up the red shirt numbers and make the last book of Harry Potter feel more like an actual war with actual consequences.
Sad that he died, but certainly not a tear jerking moment for me.

Castle Dimitrescu, Lady Dimitrescu's Bedroom - Present Days
What did dying feels like? Bela couldn't remember the day she died, before she was turned. For many and many years, she wondered how it even happened. Maybe she was incurably ill. That would be the only plausible explanation on why Lady Dimitrescu decided to transform her into a vampire. Having an illness herself, she must've felt sorry for Bela being so young and already losing her life.
But that night, after being drugged by Mother Miranda, the memory from that tragic event returned to her memory stronger like never.
It was a cold night in the 1950's. Alcina threw a special dinner and invited her three favorite and most loyal servants. Three young girls. They felt honored sitting at the same table as their mistress. They were chatting and giggling but then... something started to feel strange. Starting by the fact none of the servants were around.
It began as a burning sensation in Bela's stomach. She tried to ignore it but it'd only grow stronger. She dropped the silverware she was holding. She attempted to swallow another sip of tea. By her side, she noticed one of the other two girls, the brunette one, starting to show signs of discomfort too.
"What's wrong, my dear?" Lady Dimitrescu asked when the red haired girl, the youngest of the three, started coughing.
"I can't..." she tried to answer, but the words got lost in her throat as she began to suffocate, "b-breathe..."
Bela tried to stand up and help her, but her surroundings started to spin. She held on the table for support. At this point, the brunette girl was already lying on the floor, having some kind of seizure. She looked at Lady Dimitrescu again, but she didn't seem to be worried. She seemed abnormally calm.
"W-What have you..." before she could finish the question, her lungs could no longer fill with oxygen. Her throat and her airways started to burn. She tried and tried to breathe, but it seemed impossible. The weakness started on her legs and spread to the rest of her body really quickly. In fact, she barely felt when she collapsed on the floor. When the seizures started, she was barely conscious. Her vision was already going black, but she still had time to see the Countess staring at her body, almost lifeless, as she said:
"Don't worry, daughter. Everything will be alright."
Poisoned. She was poisoned.
When Bela woke up it was already morning. She could tell by the rays of sunlight entering through the windows. She hadn't died this time, but the sensations she experienced were quite similar. Her head was aching intensely and her vision was still blurred. Whatever Miranda had injected in her blood had affected her senses very badly.
"Aleena," she finally remembered. She tried to get up but her legs were still weak. "I need to find her."
She kept moving slowly, using the walls and furniture for support. If only she could transform into flies, it would be a lot easier, but it hurt to even try.
"Fuck!" Bela cursed, frustrated. She threw herself on a couch for a moment. She needed to rest.
Her eyes analyzed her surroundings. Although Bela was in her mother's chambers, Lady Dimitrescu was nowhere to be seen.
Hours had passed since she was drugged. Anything could've happened during this time. She wondered if Aleena was still there and if she was okay. She had to be. But what if she slept for days? What if the ritual had already happened? Aleena could be dead in that exact moment and she wasn't there to protect her. That thought made her stomach feel sick. And rare were the occasions she felt sick after being turned.
"Bela!" Daniela opened the door, she seemed so confused and scared as she was. "There you are, sister! Oh my god, I was starting to think you were dead."
"You wish..." Bela moaned sarcastically. She couldn't miss the opportunity. "What the fuck happened, Dani? Where's that bitch?"
"Who? Cassandra?"
Daniela handed her a cup full of human blood. Bela drank it all in one sip. That was the only thing able to restore her body from the damage Miranda caused.
Cassandra. She remembered her middle sister being the one who told her to go to her mother's office. Traitor! She should've known when she appeared to be so supportive of her relationship with Aleena in the previous day.
"No, Mother Miranda."
"Mother Miranda was here?"
Before she could answer, the door opened with a slam. It was Cassandra, looking completely fine. She had blood around her mouth and all over her dress. In a blink of an eye, Bela lunged forward, pinning her against the wall.
"How could you?!" She yelled. "You sent me directly to a trap!"
"What are you talking about?" Cassandra argued. "Somebody caught me on a corridor and stabbed my neck with a needle, then I passed out."
"Come on, don't lie to us," Daniela shouted. "You entered my room last night and drugged me."
"And why I would even do this to both of you?"
Realizing what happened, Bela immediately let her go.
"Mother Miranda," she huffed. "She must have shapeshifted into you and attacked us all."
It was time to tell her sisters what she learned from Heisenberg. Miranda had already started to proceed with her plans and it was a matter of time before she attempted to kill them.
"This bitch is going to die!" Cassandra punched the wall. "Nobody pretends to be me and lives."
"This is the least of our problems," Bela said. "She can be anywhere right now, pretending to be someone we trust and ready to kill us all."
"Where's mom?" Daniela asked. "I couldn't find her anywhere."
Lady Dimitrescu was the last person Bela wanted to see. She lied and betrayed her, besides helping Mother Miranda to drug her.
"I don't know, I searched for her everywhere," Cassandra told. "On the bright side, there's fresh breakfast spread all around the castle."
"What do you mean, Cassandra?" Bela wanted to know.
"The servants. They're all dead."
"What about Aleena? Have you seen her?"
"No, I thought she was with you."
Bela transformed into flies and went straight to Aleena's bedroom. It was completely empty. The bed was still made as in the previous night. She went to her own bedroom next. The diary was opened on the bed, right on the pages where her father confirmed what Miranda told her in the office, Aleena was indeed the vessel.
Mrs. Volkov corpse was lying on the corridor and not so far away, there was a trail of blood, Aleena's blood. She froze in place, too terrified to even think.
"It doesn't mean anything," Daniela placed a hand on her shoulder. "Maybe she managed to escape."
"She probably did, that girl is fierce," Cassandra added, noticing how disturbed her older sister looked. "I mean, she's not one of the Lords or a servant. There's no reason for that crazy bitch to murder her."
"There is," Bela sighed deeply. "She's the vessel. Miranda was playing us like puppets. The goblet thing was already intentional, to bring Aleena to the castle where she'd be safe until she prepared the ritual."
"Oh fuck, this is bad."
"I... I'm going to the village. Maybe she's hiding in her house."
----------
Eastern Europe, Village - Present Days
When Bela left, she didn't even bother to check the temperature or to mount one of her horses. She transformed into flies and started to fly to the village as fast as she could. Everything that mattered was finding Aleena. She wasn't dead. She couldn't be dead. They were going to California together and they'd start a brand new life.
She stopped by her house first. The door was locked and the extra key hidden in a vase at the entrance, just where Aleena placed it before they returned to the castle.
"It doesn't mean she's not here," Bela tried to convince herself. "She must have found another way in, to not make it obvious she's hiding here."
She used the key to open the front door. The house was dark and silent. There weren't any signs of somebody's recent presence. She checked every room, the basement, the secret weapon storage... Aleena definitely wasn't there.
"Maybe she's at the pub or at one of her friends' houses," Bela concluded.
There was no way. She had to do that. She took a deep breath, gathering enough courage to enter the pub. There were only three people in there, a middle aged woman behind the counter, a blonde young male cleaning the tables and a girl, who was strangely similar to Cassandra, chatting to both of them. Bela recognized them from the pictures Aleena showed her. They were Olga, Gustav and Elena.
"Hello," she announced her presence. They all stopped to stare at her, but none of them had freaked out yet. Maybe they hadn't noticed the tattoo.
"How can we help you, darling?" The older woman asked. "Are you a foreigner?"
"I... uhh... I'm looking for Aleena Novak."
"She isn't here," it was the boy who answered this time. He had a lot of anger in his voice. "She was taken to Castle Dimitrescu a few weeks ago. We don't even know if she's still alive."
"She is," Bela told. "I've been taking care of her."
They finally understood. Their expressions all changed to pure terror and panic. The two younger adults hid behind the counter, together with the woman. The male grabbed a shotgun.
"Get the hell out of here!" He ordered. "And if Aleena escaped, don't you even dare to touch her again or I'll kill you. I'll find her and bring her home."
"Trust me, manthing. This is exactly what I'm planning to do. Mother Miranda has kidnapped her. She has been planning to sacrifice her in some kind of sick ritual tonight."
"Liar!" Cassandra's doppelgänger shouted. "Mother Miranda wouldn't do such a thing! She's always guiding and protecting us. Everything she does is for the best of all of us."
"Listen, little one," Bela exhaled deeply. She had no patience for humans. That was the reason why she avoided them. They'd usually annoy her to the point they became her prey. "I have proof. Aleena's father has left this diary, reporting everything."
"That man was insane. Most of the villagers hated him."
"But he never lied," Gustav spoke. "Adrian had some crazy theories nobody ever believed but... I've never seen him lying before. He was a man of his word."
"This is true," Olga added. "We grew up together. He was absolutely nasty, a real bastard, but not a liar. He wouldn't invent such a thing, especially when it came to protecting Aleena."
Olga locked the door and the group reunited in one of the tables, analyzing the notes Adrian Novak left.
"Fuck," Gustav cursed, while trying to speak on his phone. "Auryk must've gone after this contacts. I can't reach him."
"Do you have any ideas of where Aleena could've gone to, if she was trying to hide?" Bela asked.
"Other than our houses and the pub? Well... we had this fort in the woods when we were children. Maybe she's hiding there."
"Show me the way, little man."
But Gustav wasn't the one who was most familiar with the path to Aleena's childhood fort, it was Elena. The young woman followed them, complaining about literally everything and praising Mother Miranda.
"Mother Miranda would never do that!" Elena protested. "I'd trust her with my life."
"I was about your age when she did this to me, without my consent," Bela took off the hat she was wearing, exposing her scar. "And do you think immortality is a blessing? Try spending your life locked inside a castle, without being able to go outside most of the time."
"Why are we even trusting her, Gustav? She feeds on human blood and now we're alone with her in the middle of nowhere."
"If that makes you feel more comfortable, I've already had breakfast. Besides, I prefer drinking men's blood."
"Can we just focus on Aleena?" Gustav scolded both of them. Bela had finally found a man she respected. That boy was completely loyal and protective of her girlfriend, so he deserved some credit. "God knows why Bela is searching for her but... we have the same goal here."
"We're dating," Bela informed them of the latest news. "I love her. For real."
Both of the young humans stared at her in shock.
"It seems like we'll have a lot to catch up when I see Aleena again," the boy shook his head in disbelief. "I thought the vampire thing was just a phase."
They finally found the small wooden fortress in the middle of the woods. It was mostly destroyed, but it still could fit one adult person inside it.
"Aleena!" Gustav called. There was no answer. Still, Aleena was hurt. Maybe she was unconscious.
"Go," Bela poked Elena and ordered. "You're the shortest of us. Check if she's in there."
The girl rolled her eyes, but obeyed, ducking and entering the small fort. But there wasn't even a sign Aleena was there recently.
"Where do we search now?" Elena asked.
"I'll go to the other Lords," Bela told. "Maybe one of them is keeping her for Miranda. Thank you for your help, little humans. It was a pleasure to meet you."
Bela walked away from them. Maybe in another life, they could've been friends. The priority now was to find Aleena. She wondered if the girl went to Heisenberg seeking for protection or if Miranda had captured and taken her to that creepy cave. There wasn't much time to think, she needed to act.
She followed to Heisenberg's factory. As usual the man was swearing and torturing human beings on his basement.
"What brings you here, kid?" He asked. "Did you find the diaries?"
"Yes, but too late unfortunately," she answered. "The information we were searching for: all the women in Aleena's family have some kind of immunity against the creatures and their mutations. They healed after getting bitten by Lycans, Aleena healed when you attacked her... she's the vessel."
"We have to kill her immediately. Before Miranda puts her hands on her. If that happens, we're fucked."
"She already did. She showed up in the castle last night, drugged me and my sisters, killed the servants and now... I can't find Aleena anywhere."
"Girl, you had the opportunity in your hands," he clenched his fists. "If you had killed her, like you freaks do to every single human that steps into that castle, we wouldn't be in this situation."
"Shut up, Heisenberg!" Bela grabbed a piece of metallic scrap from the floor and threw in the man's direction. "I had no idea. Even if I did, she's my girlfriend and I have to save her before she's sacrificed on Miranda's ritual."
"Good luck with that. The crazy bitch is very good hiding things."
And Bela knew that. Next, she went to Moreau's, Miranda's most loyal follower. She didn't reveal any information, she simply tricked him by inventing an excuse, that stupid freak was easy to fool. But Aleena certainly wasn't there either. Using her flies, she checked the entire place. She did the same at Donna's house. While she entertained the woman and her creepy doll having a tea party with them, her flies inspected every corner of her eerie house.
She was about to follow to Miranda's cave when she ran into Cassandra, in the middle of the way.
"What are you doing, Bela?" She asked. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?
"I'm searching for Aleena. She's gotta be somewhere and the last place I must check is the cave."
"Mother is home," her sister announced. "She wants to talk to you."
----------
Castle Dimitrescu, Living Room - Present Days
In Bela's imagination, Lady Dimitrescu would apologize. Admit she had made a huge mistake and promise her they'd find Aleena together. That was who her adoptive mother was, she'd always do anything to make her daughters happy. But at the same time, she was also that same woman from her memory. The selfish Countess who killed three young girls to have them as her adoptive daughters. She killed, violated and turned them into monsters. What kind of mother was that?
The three sisters were sitting on the couch, waiting as their mother brought a tray with tea and some other treats. That would probably be their only food for days, as Lady Dimitrescu and Mother Miranda had killed all the servants.
Lady Dimitrescu sat on an armchair in front of them, looking at Bela mostly.
"I understand you're confused, daughters. But I'll explain everything."
"Where's Aleena?" Bela quickly asked. That was the only thing that mattered. Who cared about Mother Miranda's child who died ages ago? "What have you two done to her?"
"Bela, daughter... I understand you're upset and frustrated. However, Mother Miranda has been searching for the perfect vessel to bring her daughter back to life for many and many years. This vessel happens to be Aleena. It's her fate, her purpose."
Bela eyes were burning in pure rage. How could Alcina be so blind? Even Heisenberg, that scumbag of man, was smarter than her mother was.
"Her fate is to live her own life, to go to California and achieve her dreams. Her fate is to be with me!"
"I apologize for having to get rid of all of our servants," she clearly ignored her daughter's objections. "They wouldn't understand what's to come. Once Eva is back to life, things will change. I'd like to ask you girls to behave and treat her well, like if she's a new sister of yours. We'll be throwing a party to welcome Eva to our family and I'll need your help to organize it."
"Party?!" Bela let out a sarcastic laugh. "Are you naive or only stupid? Miranda is going to kill you before this ritual is even finished! It has been her plan all along."
"Bela!" Lady Dimitrescu's eyes narrowed and she raised her voice. "I'm your mother! You owe me some respect, little lady."
"I don't! Not when you drugged me and let Miranda kidnap my girlfriend. I want to know where she is."
"Daughter..." Alcina grabbed her by the shoulders and lowered her voice. An useless attempt to help her to calm down. "Aleena is gone. She's dead."
The world seemed to stop. As well as the clock. The voices. Everything. Not even Bela's brain was capable of working and processing the words she had just listened. Dead. Aleena was dead. Her Aleena. Her girlfriend. The woman she loved. She stopped breathing. Her stomach ached as much as in the night she was poisoned. She felt she was about to collapse and die again. Her heart was beating in a strange manner. It was out of control. She was out of control.
Bela raised her golden yellow eyes, filled with hateful tears and stared directly into Lady Dimitrescu's eyes.
"You..." she clenched her fists. "You lied to me... You betrayed me..."
"I was willing to let her live, daughter," the woman tried to excuse herself. "Until the last meeting. Mother Miranda told me the truth and asked me to give her the vessel."
"HER NAME WAS ALEENA," using her strength, Bela grabbed the heavy coffee table and threw it across the room, shocking her mother and sisters. "She had a name! She was NOT a vessel."
Very rare were the times Bela actually cried after being turned. She cried when she first woke up in excruciating pain, with that huge wound on the side of her head. She cried later, when she felt lost, without knowing who or what she was. And she was crying now. Without Aleena, she felt lost again. She had nothing left. She no longer wished to live. A life without that girl's contagious joy, optimism and bravery was meaningless.
"Bela..." Lady Dimitrescu tried to touch her, comfort her somehow, but the blonde girl slapped her hand away.
"I always did everything you asked me... I always tried to be the perfect daughter for you... AND FOR WHAT?" Bela sobbed. "The only thing I ever ask you, you denied me. You took Aleena from me. You chose Miranda over your own daughter!"
"I had no choice, daughter! She'd turn against us if I refused to give her Aleena. Who knows what she'd be capable of doing?"
"She's doing it anyways. She's going to kill us all now she's gotten what she wanted."
She started to walk away. She had to be alone. As far away as possible from that woman, from that family, from that stupid castle. That small bed & breakfast at the village seemed like a good option.
"Daughter, wait," Alcina went after her, as she entered her bedroom.
"Don't you ever call me daughter again, Lady Dimitrescu," Bela angered. "I'm not your daughter. You kidnapped, killed me and turned me into a monster. Who knows what you've done to my real parents. We're not your daughters, we're only your toys, your dolls. You're not that different from your sister, Donna, after all."
She slammed the door and locked it. The bedroom was still the same way they left in the previous night. The candles, the flowers, the discs... Aleena's perfume was still on her pillows. Bela threw herself on the bed, holding the pillow against her body as she cried uncontrollably.
This was all her fault. They should've finished reading the diaries earlier and found out the truth before Miranda's visit, but she distracted Aleena, wishing to spend as much time with her as possible before she left to California. She should've been there to protect her, she promised it. She shouldn't have trusted the woman she used to call 'mother'. She was an idiot and now, Aleena was gone. Forever.
----------
Castle Dimitrescu, Guest Room - Present Days
Memories. Only a few days earlier Bela was afraid memories would be everything she'd have left from Aleena and now, it really was. Without anybody noticing, she went to the guest room the girl had been staying during those weeks in the castle. She obviously wasn't there, but traits of her presence were still all around.
Her clothes were still in the closet. Some where lying on the armchair or even around the floor. Bela grabbed one of her t-shirts, one from Aleena's favorite TV show. It still had her perfume on it.
"I miss you, love," she inhaled deeply the sweet fragrance. "So much it's killing me."
Then, she took the sketch book from the desk. Aleena was the most talented artist Bela had ever met. Her sister, Daniela, was a good artist, but she wasn't so creative, so expressive and precise on her traces. Bela had many classes with Lady Dimitrescu, and though she could paint decently, it wasn't her strong suit.
The drawing was still there. The one Aleena where was drawing her face. The reason why they kissed that night in the library, when she said Bela was worth being remembered.
"And now I'm the one who have nothing to remind me of you, Aleena. Remind me of every detail of your perfect green eyes, your smooth brown hair and those sweet freckles all over your body."
Her cell phone was still inside the bedside table's drawer. Bela turned it on. Aleena had set a picture of them together as her lockscreen. She smiled. In the gallery, she found many and many pictures of all the days they spent together, since the lunch Bela threw on her birthday when she arrived.
There were videos too and as soon Bela heard Aleena's voice, she couldn't help but start crying again. Why did her mother betrayed her like that? She could've helped her to save Aleena. She could've helped them to take down Miranda. That was what a real mother was supposed to do!
"Hey," she rolled her eyes, noticing she had forgotten to lock the door again. Cassandra was standing right behind her. "I'm came here to check on you."
"Leave me alone, Cassandra," Bela angered. "You didn't even like her."
"This isn't true. Aleena wasn't my favorite person in the world, not that I have one by the way, but still... I didn't want her to die."
Bela ignored her. Cassandra didn't have maturity enough to understand how she was feeling. Sometimes she wondered if her sister was even able to feel empathy for another being. But then, she was surprised by her next move.
"I'm sorry," her middle sister touched her shoulder slightly, tenderly. "I know she made you happy. Deep down, I was rooting for you both."
She forced a small smile before pulling her sister for an embrace. It was probably the first time they exchanged such a genuine moment of affection.
"We'll make her pay," Cassandra stroked her hair. "Let's kill Bitch Miranda."
The three sisters gathered together in the library. Lady Dimitrescu couldn't be aware of their plans. Daniela revealed her sisters she once heard about a dagger their mother possessed, one that was able to kill any monsters and demons.
"Are you sure about this?" Bela asked to confirm. Daniela had a creative and delusional mind after all.
"Yes," her youngest sister said. "I stole one of her diaries once. She was reporting everything about this dagger, except for its location."
"Then I'll keep her distracted while you search for it," Cassandra suggested. "I'll pretend to help her with her party for Miranda's daughter rebirth."
"What about me?" Bela wanted to know.
"You're not okay, sister. Let us handle this. Save your strength for when we stab the bitch and end her for good."
"As long as you let me do the honors, it's fine by me."
That was it. Bela would pretend to be alright. She would pretend to forgive her mother. And when the time came, she'd get her revenge against Miranda.
But then... there was nothing left for her in this world. With Aleena gone, she lost her only chance of living a new and normal life. She lost the only thing that made her feel happy and human. And if the dagger could kill any monsters and demons, well... it would be able to kill her too.
Still holding Aleena's shirt against her body, Bela lay on the bed and fell asleep, thinking of the moment they'd be reunited again in death. However, she had a terrible nightmare. Aleena was dying in her arms and there was nothing she could do.
She got up and drank some water. It had been hours since Daniela left the room to search for the dagger. She wondered if something had gone wrong. Lady Dimitrescu would never agree with that plan. She was about to leave the bedroom when the red haired girl entered the room so excited she could barely breathe.
"Bela..." she panted, "I found her!"
"The dagger?!" Bela asked. "Where is it?"
"No! Aleena. She's alive in the dungeons!"
----------
Castle Dimitrescu, Dungeons - Present Days
I opened my eyes, but I couldn't see anything. The environment around me was different from everywhere I had been in the last few weeks, the air was humid but still suffocating. It also smelled terribly, like rotting flesh and blood. I tried to stand up but my leg was still badly injured. I wondered how long it'd take for the amulet to heal my body again. Maybe it only worked once. Or maybe it had to do with the fluid Cassandra injected on me before she threw me inside that nasty cell.
Speaking of Bela's sister, I was pissed. Truly pissed. It was no secret she never liked me, but I never thought she'd be able to betray her own sister like that. Telling Bela to go to their mother's office only to bring me to the dungeons was a low blow, even for her. And there was Mrs. Volkov too. I couldn't believe she was dead.
"H-Help... somebody help me..."
I tried to scream but the blood loss and the drug made me too weak. I had to find a way out. A way to regain my forces and escape that place.
It didn't take long for me to lose my conscience again. As much as I attempted to stay awake and hear any signals someone could be around, I just couldn't. I was trapped in that endless cycle of waking up for a few minutes, moan in pain and passing out again. That was it. The Mother Miranda bitch was certainly behind it. When the right moment came, she'd come and take me for the ritual. Drugged as I was, I wouldn't be able to fight it.
"Aleena!" I heard Bela's voice, approaching. Maybe it was just another hallucination. "Oh my god!"
The cell's door opened, allowing some light to enter. I was able to distinguish my girlfriend's beautiful face among all that darkness.
"It's okay, love. You'll be okay, I promise you."
I forced a small smile as she placed my head on her lap. Using a blade, she opened a small gash on her wrist and forced it into my mouth.
"Drink it," Bela ordered. "My blood is going to heal your wounds and the drug effects."
I felt my stomach twisting from the metallic taste of blood going down my throat. I definitely wasn't born to be a vampire. For a second, I thought I was going to throw up.
"Shhhh," she held me still as the nausea struck. "Just breathe. Hold it down and you'll be okay."
I did as she told. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths, the nausea was slowly going away. Bela started to caress my face and I felt as some warm tears dropped on my forehead.
"Hey, I'm just a little beaten up," I assured her. "But I'm starting to feel better."
"I... I thought you were dead. My mother told me you were dead."
Why would Lady Dimitrescu do such a thing? Of course, she needed to make sure Bela wouldn't ruin Miranda's plans. She needed to convince her to not search for me.
I was already strong enough to sit. I hugged Bela very very tightly. She was sobbing desperately. Her heart was beating so fast inside her chest, it seemed like it'd explode at any moment.
"I'm so sorry," I kissed her forehead. "I'm here and I'm not leaving you ever again. I promise."
"You're the vessel, Aleena," Bela told me. "Your body is immune to the attacks of any creatures in the village. And now Miranda wants to use you to bring her daughter back to life. She believes your body is going to accept the mutation."
She also told me about my amulet. Miranda was the one to sell it to Auryk. I immediately ripped it off from my neck.
"I knew about being the vessel. I discovered it right after you left the bedroom. My father knew it and Auryk did too, this is why he wanted to get me out of the country so badly."
Bela wasn't listening to me. She was still staring at my face in disbelief, her eyes glistening with tears from the relief of finding out I was still alive. She cupped my face between her hands and pressed her lips on mine multiple times.
"I'm going to fix this," she was still crying. "I promise you. We have a plan to kill Miranda. There's a dagger hidden here in the castle, it can kill any monsters or demons. Daniela is searching for it, while Cassandra is distracting my m-," she hesitated to say that word, "my mother."
"Okay, but Cassandra was the one to kill Mrs. Volkov to capture me. We can't trust her at all!"
Of course. The bitch had more tricks I wasn't even aware of. She could shapeshift. Now I finally knew how my father was probably killed or how Auryk obtained that amulet from her. It was also obvious who attacked the castle that morning, Miranda was willing to test my healing properties again.
"She didn't. Mother Miranda can shapeshift into any person, this is why we need to be careful. We have this safe word, to know we're the actual Dimitrescu sisters. It's 'blowfly'."
I sighed and attempted to break the tension.
"And how do you know I'm the real Aleena?" I smiled.
"Trust me, love. I know," Bela kissed me, slowly and passionate. "Otherwise, I wouldn't be doing this. Imagine how disgusting it would be to kiss that crazy bitch."
We both broke into laughs. Then, she took my hand and helped me to stand up.
"We need to get you out of here. My mother can't know I've found you. Miranda is coming to pick you up at midnight for the ritual."
Through the secret passages we made to the stables, where Bela had already left my bags and a horse prepared to take me to the village.
"Once you get there," she told me. "Just drive as far as you can. Go to the city, find your brother and fly to United States."
And then I realized.
"But Bela... what about you?"
"I'm staying here, love. I'm going to kill Miranda, together with my sisters and Heisenberg."
"And then you'll meet me there, right?!" I raised my voice, fighting hard against the tears that insisted falling down. "You'll go to California."
She was in silence for a moment, trying to find the right words, but I already knew what she wanted to say. First, she handed me my cell phone.
"You said you wanted something to remember. Now you have plenty of pictures of me in this device of yours."
"Bela... what are you saying?"
"Let's be honest, Aleena," she looked down. "It was never a possibility and you knew it. We'd have to stop at the first temperature drop we came across. We probably wouldn't even make it to the airport."
"I said I'm going to find a way! It's Summer, dammit. It's not so cold away from the mountains and once we arrive in California, it'll be even hotter."
"You know your world would never accept me, love. Look at me, I have this nasty scar, this weird tattoo, I need to drink human blood to live..."
"STOP MAKING EXCUSES TO BREAK UP WITH ME! I'LL FIND A WAY! FOR ALL OF THIS. IF THEY CAN'T ACCEPT YOU, THEN FUCK THEM! I LOVE YOU AND IT'S ALL THAT MATTERS."
"I love you too," Bela kissed my forehead. "And this is why I'm letting you go."
"Even if I go, Bela," I argued, punching her shoulder slightly, "it doesn't have to end! I'm going to call you. I'm going to write you. And I'll come here to visit you too."
"In the first few weeks, love. Then, you'll become too busy to write. Our phone calls will become shorter because you'll be too tired. You'll disappear for a few days. We'll start to fade, little by little. And finally someday, you'll meet somebody new. Somebody who can make you laugh and distract you from your tragic past. Somebody who can take you to an actual date. Somebody you can introduce to your family and friends. Somebody who actually deserves you. Who can give you a future with marriage and children. Because she isn't dead. Because she isn't... me."
"I don't want any of this! I want you and only you. This future? We can have it! Here in this fucking castle or in my old small house. I don't care if I have to serve tables for the rest of my life, as long as I have you."
"You deserve a lot more than that."
"And so do you. What are you going to do, huh? To keep playing house with the woman who killed and turned you into a vampire? Serving her every wish and pretending you love this life? Or sleep with a different servant every week to hide the fact you're completely lonely and miserable?"
"Yes, Aleena. It has been this way for six decades now and it's not going to change. I have no choice, I'm sorry."
She vanished into a swarm of flies and disappeared, leaving me completely alone in the stables. I fell on my knees again, sobbing and screaming my lungs out.
"Bela, come back here!" I cried. "I love you! Please... come back..."
I still waited for a few minutes, but as I knew and as Mrs. Volkov always warned me, when Bela made a decision nothing would change her mind. Not even her mother or her sisters. Not even me.

Castle Dimitrescu, Bela's Room - Present Days
"I'm hungry," Cassandra complained from the couch. "Pretty please... I'm helping you with the secret mission. A scrambled egg is enough."
"Tell Lady Dimitrescu to cook," Bela remained unmoved on her bed, staring at the ceiling while wearing Aleena's jacket. The one she borrowed her when the castle was attacked. It was the only memory she'd have from the woman she loved. "She was the one to kill all the servants."
Bela was listening to an old love song from the 60's. It was the one thing she was actually capable of doing in that moment. She couldn't even manage to create different scenarios about how she could kill Miranda inside her mind, or even wander around the castle searching for the cursed knife.
She knew Aleena had safely arrived in her house at the village. She sent one of her flies to follow her and observe her for how long it was possible. The girl was completely devastated, heartbroken and it killed her to see that. She could she glimpses of the moments where she sobbed while packing her bags and taking them to her old truck. But it was the best for both of them. She'd never be safe by Bela's side. Especially while Miranda was still around.
"This music is making me nauseous," Cassandra went to the disc player and turned it off. "You should've gone with her then."
"It was the safest for her. Mother would come after me immediately and take her back to Miranda's claws."
The brunette sister went to her own bedroom and returned with a book in hands, what surprised Bela because Cassandra wasn't much of a reader.
"Check this out. I asked the Duke to get you the sequel," and she started to read, adopting the same dramatic tone as usual. "As much as I struggled not to think of him, I did not struggle to forget. I worried — late in the night, when the exhaustion of sleep deprivation broke down my defenses — that it was all slipping away. That my mind was a sieve, and I would someday not be able to remember the precise color of his eyes, the feel of his cool skin, or the texture of his voice. I could not think of them, but I must remember them. Because there was just one thing that I had to believe to be able to live — I had to know that he existed. That was all. Everything else I could endure. So long as he existed."
"Ha ha, very funny," Bela rolled her eyes. Deep down she absorbed those words. She feared someday she'd forget all those small details about Aleena too, but knowing she existed someday, and that she loved her back, was enough for her to be able to live for the rest of her immortal days. "Next time, get us something useful. Like that fucking dagger."
The door opened and Daniela walked inside, pushing a food cart.
"I brought us dinner," she announced.
"Did you kidnap a villager to cook for us?" Cassandra asked, immediately grabbing a plate.
"Of course not! I cooked it myself. If Bela can do it, I can too."
The two eldest sisters exchanged a suspicious glance, before deciding they were not so hungry after all.
"And here is the main dish..." Daniela said, lifting the lid and revealing the content inside the silver pan. "A poisonous dagger."
"You did it!" Bela exclaimed, surprised and proud.
"Yes! Let's chop that bitch to pieces."
Daniela hugged her eldest sister again. It was happening too often lately, for Bela's discomfort. But this time, she accepted the hug.
"Where's mom?" Cassandra interrupted the moment. "I haven't heard from her since I left her alone in her bedroom."
The castle was way too quiet. It wasn't the first time the servants had to be gotten rid of and they were completely by themselves. Or maybe sometimes, Lady Dimitrescu would lock herself in the Opera House to play the piano or even read a book alone in her bedroom, but that wasn't the case this time. That was a different kind of silence. A silence that indicated danger, a threat.
"Mother?!" Cassandra called, followed by her two sisters. "Where are you?"
There was no answer. They were about to reach the library when the power went out, as well as the heating system. A wave of panic instantly spread over Bela's body. She feared the cold, more than anything.
"What the hell?!" Daniela yelled. "Who's there? I'm starving and angry, so don't mess with me!"
"Shhhh," Bela silenced her. She had a feeling, a hunch about who could it be. As they approached the office, her suspicions were confirmed by the argument coming from inside the room.
"Where is she, Alcina?!" They heard Miranda yelling. "You promised me to keep her safe!"
"Mother, I swear... she was in the dungeons! There was no way she could escape. The drug was supposed to keep her down until now."
"Your daughters... they must've helped her to escape. Decades trying to find the perfect vessel and they ruined it all. They'll deal with the consequences!"
"Mother, no! Don't hurt them, I'm begging you."
In that moment, the sisters witnessed as a powerful flock of birds started to fly around the caste, shattering all the windows. As the cold air of the night in the mountains filled the entire place, the three sisters knew their ending was imminent.
----------
Eastern Europe, Aleena's House - Present Days
The tears blurred my vision as I followed my way back to the village. Sometimes, I'd stop for a minute, hoping Bela would change her mind and come after me. Why would she assume I was safer without her? If there was someone who could protect me, that was she.
As soon as I arrived, I went straight to the garage, getting my old truck to come back to life. Then, I followed to my bedroom to pack my bags. There wasn't much I actually needed to take, mostly my clothes, my laptop and a few other important belongings. I didn't plan to sell the house anyways. I could come back and take the rest later, if I had to.
My books. I would definitely take at least my favorites. Most of them were gifts from my mom. I couldn't leave those precious treasures behind. As I grabbed one of them to place it inside of my luggage, a small piece of paper fell on the floor:
'Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds. It is an ever fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken. Love alters not with time's brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom'.
I recognized it. It was an excerpt of William Shakespeare's Sonnet 116. Bela should've left it there when she was alone in my bedroom. In the end, she wrote: 'Please, think of me sometimes. I love you, forever'.
Of course I would. There was no way I'd ever stop loving that girl, or even forgetting about her at all. I could never forget about the girl who threw me the sweetest birthday party or made me the best pancakes in the world. And especially, the first girl I ever loved. I pressed the note against my chest, letting out a few tears. I placed it among my belongings, those I was going to take with me to California.
I heard the front door opening and I immediately grabbed my rifle and my blades too. Something had to at least cause some harm to that bitch. I was slowly going down the stairs in an attack position, when I heard a voice.
"Leena? Are you home?" That was my twin brother, Auryk. "I'm back."
"Auryk," I finally revealed myself. My first impulse was running to his arms, before I remembered all the lies and the betrayal. "You knew it. You fucking knew it and you hid it from me!"
"I'm sorry, okay? I was trying to keep you safe from Miranda. I planned to get you out of here before it all came to surface, but that bitch was already one step ahead."
"We have to go, right now. She's coming after me. I just escaped Castle Dimitrescu."
"Leena, no..." he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I thought I was clear when I asked you to stay in the castle until I returned."
"Auryk, she drugged me and locked me in the dungeons!" I yelled. "She was going to sacrifice me in a sick ritual tonight. Which part haven't you understand yet?"
"This was the plan, Aleena. When she was vulnerable, during the ritual, the agency would take the opportunity to explode this place and all these freaks."
"WHAT?! What about the village... and the people, their houses? What about ME?! What if I got killed in this process?"
"They're going to evacuate the village in a couple of hours," he explained. "And then, they'll help them to rebuild their lives or something... I don't know for sure. But they would protect us."
"Stop them!" I ordered. I couldn't let them hurt Bela or her sisters. Or even put the villagers in danger. Some of them, such as Olga, Elena and her father would never abandon that place and its traditions. "Right now! You're not going to hurt them. You won't!"
"Aleena, what the fuck? They're monsters! They're going to kill you!"
And then, I did the first thing that came to my mind. It was stupid, unplanned and completely reckless. I knocked my brother's head with the rifle. As soon as he fell unconscious on the floor, I tied him up and locked him inside Adrian's secret storage.
"I'm sorry, Auryk. But I must save my girlfriend."
