this all started because i literally had a dream that i made this challenge and then i fixated on it. i wanted a challenge that was friendly to people who didnt have all the packs, but it might not be base game compatible. i made the generation order based on the order twilight sparkle first meets her friends in ponyville during the first episode of the series, with some creative liberties here and there!
side goals are things you don’t have to do, but i’ve included anyways for an extra challenge per generation! the colour schemes as well aren’t a strict rule, just a fun little addition if you’re like me and like to theme your sims around a colour palette!
tag me in ts4fim or fimchallenge if you use it! i’d love to see what you do with it!
gen. one: twilight sparkle.
you’re new to town, and kind of a grouch. you’re not known for your friendship skills. you’re a bookworm, and love science. but maybe you’ll be able to make friends whilst pursuing the sciences? who says that you have to close yourself off to everyone?
colour scheme: purple, pink, and blue
traits: genius, high maintenance, loner or bookworm aspiration: spellcraft & sorcery or archaeology scholar career: scientist
rules:
master scientist career
have 5 close friends
go to sixam
side goal: investigate the strangerville mystery. after all, twilight and her friends have investigated cultish possessed townsfolk before!*
* if you choose to do this, you can change your aspiration in order to receive the reward, but you must still go to sixam and preferably finish your primary aspiration
** as an extra challenge, to simulate spike the dragon, you can also start your generation with a younger sibling to your founder!
gen. two: pinkie pie.
your parent was a lot closer to you than they apparently were to a lot of people once upon a time, or so you heard, but you still felt isolated -- an after thought after their scientific research and exploits. so, your goal is bring joy to as many people as you can to make up for what you did not have. all you really need is a smile, smile, smile!
colour scheme: pink, blue, yellow
traits: cheerful, goofball, foodie or outgoing aspiration: jokestar career: comedian
rules:
marry a coworker (like cheese sandwich) or conversely, someone you meet at the mischief festival
own several reptiles throughout your life, each one being called gummy (gummy 2, gummy 3, etc.)
you must throw at least one party for each event (ie. wedding, birthday, costume party)
master the mischief and baking skills
side goal: open a bakery
gen. 03: applejack
growing up with a baker-slash-comedian for a parent made you appreciate good times, and good cooking. but it also made you appreciate working hard. for as long as you can remember you’ve enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and learning how to live off the land, and now you’re an adult you want to pursue just that and set up a farm for you and your family to live on.
colour scheme: orange, yellow, red and green
traits: family oriented, good, loves the outdoors or freegan aspiration: big, happy family career: gardener (botanist)
rules:
you must have at least one dog and name them winona (though you can obviously have more animals if you choose)
you must have an elderly relative live with you until they pass (like granny smith)
you must have more than one children (requirement of the aspiration anyway). the goal is to have a big family
have a good relationship with all your children
master the gardening, athletic, and handiness skills
side goal: master the parenting skill
gen. 04: rainbow dash
you grew up under the watchful eye of a parent who dearly loved you, but was perhaps too protective of you, and made you work too hard. you don’t want to be a farmer! you don’t want to do that at all. instead, you want to be a sports star! like your favourite sports team, the wonderbolts. you will do everything you can to make it onto a sports team! and nothing and nobody will stand in your way.
colour scheme: anything rainbow or blue, pink, red
traits: hot-headed, active, self-assured or bro aspiration: bodybuilder career: athlete (professional athlete branch)
rules:
relationships aren’t your priority! have a child and get married in your adult years, or after you’ve scaled the athletic branch
you must master the athletic skill
you secretly love books and nerd stuff
go to every geek-con, but if you’re invited to one, you must decline. your geekiness is a secret after all.
you must visit selvadorada at least once, and explore a ruin, like daring do
side goal: climb mt. komorebi
gen. 05: rarity
your parent was sports mad, and too obsessed with their sports career to notice that you didn’t like sports like they did, to their dismay. you liked the classier things in life, and wanted to scale the social ranks, rather than the sporting ladder. you’re absolutely enamoured by fashion, and want to the be the pony person every person should know! you want to be a part of the fashion world, and live a glamourous life, whilst also pursuing your love of crafts!
colour scheme: white, blue, purple
traits: romantic, creative, snob or materialistic aspiration: lady of the knits career: fashion photographer or stylist
rules:
have at least two children
master the knitting and painting skills
have at least three romances
never marry
side goal: become at least a b-list celebrity
gen. 06: fluttershy
you remember looking at photo albums, and seeing your great grandparent’s farm, and being in awe of it. not for the gardens and the produce, but for the animals. you never wanted the fame and fortune that your parent wanted, that your grandparent also wanted. you just wanted to live amongst the wilderness. for as long as you can remember, you’ve loved animals, and wanted to be surrounded by them, and you swear you will be. you’re timid in nature, and very unassuming, but you’ve a heart of gold, and would do anything to help a little critter.
colour scheme: yellow, pink, brown and green
traits: squeamish, animal enthusiast, vegetarian or green fiend aspiration: country caretaker career: gardener (flower arranger)
rules:
you must own at least one of every farm animal
you must marry someone who’s kind of nasty, but you help them change their leaves (discord)
the person you marry should be an occult
befriend a bunny!
have a pet have puppies or kittens
you do not get along with your sibling
live in henford-on-bagley, evergreen harbour, or glimmerbrook
side goal: own a vet clinic!
gen. 07: sunset shimmer
your siblings, your friends, everyone, always got more than you, always got what you deserved and they didn’t. so, you took that back. you fought and fought until you took what was rightfully yours and realised -- that you really... just wanted to be loved and accepted. that you didn’t want to have to struggle to be acknowledged. your parent loves you dearly, and you know that, but you still can’t help but feel like you’ve been in the shadows. you’ve been mean before, some could say downright evil, but you’re ready to turn a new leaf. and who better to investigate the seedy underbelly of mean and evil people than someone who was formally that? you’ll get what you deserve, but this time you’ll do it the right way.
colour scheme: red, yellow, orange
traits: genius, hot-headed, jealous or mean aspiration: inner peace career: detective
rules:
you must have at least six enemies, whom you eventually befriend
you have at least one failed relationship
you must master the logic skill
you must go to every social event you’re invited to - you’re learning how to make friends after all!
you must master a musical instrument
side goal: create a servo. sunset shimmer and starlight glimmer are both equally as smart as twilight sparkle. you could put your nerd brain to good use.
gen. 08: starlight glimmer
you were raised by someone who, despite their best efforts, carried a lot of anger with them, and that was passed onto you. you haven’t had much lucky making friends, and thus when your one true friend moved away to an elite school that you also wanted to go to, that you’d planned to go to together, you felt abandoned, and heartbroken, and swore that no one should ever be made to feel unequal, to feel like they’re not good enough. but in your heart of hearts, you loved them. you loved that friend, and you’re so sad that they’re gone. even when you manage to redeem yourself, and just like your parent, you one day too, you feel like you will never get your happy ending with them.
colour scheme: lilac, turquoise/blue.
traits: geek, genius, loner or evil aspiration: soulmate career: criminal (oracle branch)
rules:
you must have a close friend as a child, whom after several failed relationships, you eventually marry
you’re in the criminal career, despite no longer being ‘evil’. no one really trusts you, and as a loner/evil you struggle to make friends
you can eventually swap careers, but not until you’re married
you must have more than one child
you’re scientific, and are fascinated by all things related to science
you must finish at least one collection
side goal: complete a university degree
gen. 09: princess celestia
you’re the favourite child of your parents, even if they claim to have no favourites. you’re naturally gifted in everything you accomplish and you’re described as radiant by your peers. however, your little sibling is acting out... and you don’t know why.
colour scheme: white, pink, green, blue - overall very light colours
traits: proper, family oriented, good or music lover aspiration: renaissance sim career: politician (politician branch)
rules:
have a poor relationship with a sibling that only gets better when you’re adults
have only two children, but favour only one of them in terms of skill building, etc.
as per your aspiration, you should endeavour to be good at lots of things, but primarily you should focus on music, writing, and art.
you should write to penpals using the postcard function, like celestia and twilight’s back and forth through scrolls
don’t get married until you’re an elder
side goal: get to at least a level 7 wellness skill so you can teleport to sylvan glade
gen. 10: princess luna
you’ve always lived in the shadow of your sibling, like your parent’s sibling had, and it kills you inside. every day you see them receiving the love and affection and praise from others, when you work just as hard! do you scare them? is it because you’re not as outgoing and friendly? is it because they just don’t like you? you’re determined to make a name for yourself outside of the shade that your sibling, and in fact your whole lineage casts! no matter what!
colour scheme: dark blues, purples, blacks - overall very dark colours
traits: proper, jealous, loner or gloomy aspiration: master vampire career: paranormal investigator
rules:
as per aspiration, become a vampire
turn at least 3 sims
master the parenting skill
have a slow burn romance with someone
if you want drama for the finale, never have kids
otherwise adopt at least one child
side goal: if you have realm of magic, you can become a spellcaster too! there’s no real sidegoal here. you’re done. do what you want.

A Fenty Face .....
Hi guys!
As promised here is aa makeup look using new products from the Fenty Beauty Christmas collection. Since I was getting ready for work I didn’t go too heavy with the eye look but i did manage to use all the shades in this look so let me chat you through it!
On my lips I’m wearing a new gloss bomb shade called Cake Shake on my lips which gives your lips a high shine finish and the shade is like a very subtle bronze nude shade. I did one swipe just for a subtle shine but like I’ve said before it you want to have more pigment to the gloss just add more. When I’m doing a pretty eye look I like to have a subtle lip so it doesn’t take attention away from my eyes speaking of eyes lets chat you through what I did.
After applying my Pro Filt’r eye primer i started off with mixing the shades Concrete Lavender and Honey Splash which are the matte lavender and yellow shades and blended them through my crease for a transition shade. Then I took the shade Royal Dazzle which is the glitter gold and applied to my inner corner and blended it to the centre of my lid. On the centre of my I then applied Blood Moon which is a beautiful red glitter and blended that with the golden shade to made a pinky tone. Using the shade Brownie Babe which is a burgundy brown shade I apply that to my outer crease to warm up my eye look which is a much prettier colour then I expected. Lastly I use the purple shimmer shade called Violet Vibez in the centre of my lid blending with the red eyeshadow.
And there we have my makeup look! The glitters in this palette really surprised me because the formula is much more creamier than I was expecting compared to older glitters in snap shadow palettes. I’m really happy with this look because when i first used the shades I wasn’t sure what eye looks I could create but once I started it all applied together beautifully! And now i think it might be one of my favourite snap shadows and like I said before the packaging is the same as the normal snap shadows so you can still mix and match palettes.
Check out the Fenty beauty website to see the whole christmas collection and don’t forget its limited edition so grab it while you can!
Lots of love

Here is probably everything else I wore out and about this year less often or less memorably, I guess? It doesn’t seem like it, but I guess!
eyes:
Recently I’ve been trying to get use out of Subculture’s stone shade, Mercury. I really, really want to do grey and taupe and stone eye looks but I do not have what I need. This particular shade darkens a lot. I want to keep Subculture out to try to do new things with it–make that shade work more with the yellows, use the rosy shades, wear that metallic ONCE (I never have!!). I don’t really even remember wearing the Kristen Leanne palette this year, it was probably either the purple or the gold. This thing really is very pretty but it’s full of the kinds of potential looks I’ve already mastered and am unchallenged by. The UD Nocturnal palette is getting quite old and I’m trying to breathe new life into it–tried some looks with that purple and silver but it’s not the Cool Toned™ look I’m craving… I only use the mattes WnW’s revamped Comfort Zone palette (for how many years will we refer to it like that?) but I like them, as far as neutrals go. That Dior palette came from one of you guys and I’m still trying to figure out what it’s good for–I think I’m going to wear it on my face? That center shade in particular is just lovely for me. These just feel delicious.
Colourpop Sprinkle Me (this is kind of my go-to shimmery neutral “topper” shade, to the extent that I think it makes me lazy and I’m trying to use it left) and Don’t Leave, L’Oreal Infallible in Golden Emerald (these are still so good!), a Stila Magnificent Metals, the old kind you mix with a medium, in Metallic Gilded Gold. I did wear one of the Glitter and Glows this year but I guess it didn’t end up in here! MAC’s Bird of Prey pressed pigment from that LE Star Trek line–this remains just okay for me but I respect my choice to purchase it based on having the best of all the shade names! Bunch of fucking pencils, idk, I’m very lost when it comes to pencils: a NYX jumbo in Cashmere, a NYX retractable in Gold, Milani glitter retractable in Emerald Stone: they are all fine. A lot of this green and gold stuff was my NYE look.
I seem to recall doing an all-over-the-face look with that fluorescent pink Sweetpea & Fay pigment. I still have this! Pigments last forever! I am gonna keep this out for a blush.
There are three Grinch liquid liners from Pur that Westlin got me for Christmas (!) and I’ve been playing around with them. Reader, I’m out of practice. I’m not good at liquid liner. That is why I had coveted this set in the first place, because I didn’t have any and they’re the brush kind, which I always liked back in the days when we all wore liquid liner. But the learning curve is killing me a little bit here.
Two things I got from @madmoths that I’m still playing around with. That CYO mascara is GREEN! A dark green, pretty subtle on bare lashes. I wore it a few times then I wanted to keep it closed for a while until I got a white primer to try it with, so it didn’t dry out (esp given I have 100 mascaras open currently). I will report how it looks over the primer! What color eyeshadow with an evergreen lash? This would be a great time for a milky matte pink or mauve, which I DO NOT have! Strawberry milk + pine is a good colour combination. Then, black cherry or plum (for spring) and maybe mustard yellow. Seems like that is the agenda! Then there is a MAC dazzleshadow in Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. This has a plummy base with a looovely perfect light blue glitter in it, I’m trying to figure out the best way to layer it to bring out the blue. It is part of my cherry for spring plan! Sometimes I feel like I have a hard time wearing dark shades on my lid without feeling too…formal? And this is something I’m trying to get over. I think wearing them in particularly informal settings will help. (Maybe this is reservations about “sexy”?) This would look so good with a powder blue liner.
face:
I realize now that I should have put Anastasia’s Moonchild palette in my more used pile, I had totally forgotten about how all of January I wanted to be tin man. That silver-grey looks very flattering on me, but I want it to look grey. I want a fucking grey face highlighter. Pale princess problems :(
UD’s Bittersweet Afterglow blush, NYX’s Codebreaker ombre blush and Pinky powder blush: these are fine. Becca’s Opal is fine. That WnW Zodiac highlighting bar (Earth) is nice, it’s fine. It kinda made me like Mary Loumanizer, of all things, more, in comparison. That peachy Vera Mona thing is an eyeshadow that I wear as a blush. I am always thinking that I wish I had a peachy shimmery blush and forgetting I have that. I do not recommend those WnW stick blushes. I somewhat strongly recommend the Revolution liquid highlighters and the WnW Hello Halo liquid highlighters, the above are in the shades Liquid Champagne and Guilded (?) Glow. I like the Revolution one marginally better on me, easier to blend out.
I really wanted to like that Hourglass Vanish stick highlighter when it came out and I was amped to get a mini, it was so hyped and well-regarded. The shade is Champagne something or other. Maybe it’s just that I don’t wear foundation? But I don’t find this to be any nicer than any other stick highlighter I’ve tried, and I do like that kind of thing. It’s okay.
That WnW Illuminating Palette is still pretty nice, I feel like whenever I get bored of it I find a new way to use it. I have an idea about that and that little Vintage pink blush-highlight, they are both relatively subtle and very smooth: I think I might try to use them as finishing powders all over my whole face. Will report back.
That Colourpop blush is in the shade Bardot and I’m making a point to use it henceforth, these things don’t have forever shelf lives. It’s nice! I don’t love the super shock formula for blush specifically, I think it’s finnicky on a brush.
Oh! and my City Color Be Matte blush in Fresh Melon. Still my favorite. I’m a little concerned that it’s getting drier, and I cannot replace it!!
lips:
MAC Watch Me Simmer, still maybe my favorite lipstick of all time when I wear it, still haven’t found a dupe, lately I’m into wearing it very blotted out, because their cremes do emphasize lip weirdness and my lips have been VERY WEIRD.
The only thing here whose color isn’t represented well is that Maybelline lipstick. It’s called Fiery Fuchsia and I got it on super clearance. It is fairly similar to the fuchsia from the new Maybelline line, the one Nyma Tang had me wanting to buy, but this one was on clearance for like $3 likely for that reason, AND its # is 810 (flint area code). So far I quite like it, one of my favorite lipstick color families on me is what I call “dark pinks,” which are hot lipstick pinks at a darker value that haven’t been desaturated. This one is the most vibrant one in my collection so far and I imagine it’ll be an everyday shade for me. I’d like to get myself a liner in this family, because I’ve been relying more on liners since my lips have been Extremely Weird.
Here is Fenty’s Vay Cray gloss–this gets less winter time wear from me, because it can emphasize Weirdness, but it is ideal in the summer. Revlon’s HD matte metallic something or other in HD Dazzle is fine, Lucas got it for me hoping it would replace this (the only lip item I have EVER LOST! and mourn daily). It doesn’t, but I like it. More of those Benefit glosses in Hoola and Bella Bamba. Tom Ford Indian Rose: this is really nice especially if you have Weird Lip problems, but I like that Bare Minerals one better, maybe! The Bite Sephora birthday gifts– the stick in Glace and the bullet in Chai–are good, they’re fine, I haven’t learned to love them. I’m mad at Bite because a very very old lipstick I had from them finally got like, lowkey rancid, and it was expensive, and I’m like: what if you didn’t use food grade ingredients, hm? I haven’t found a good reason to wear that green, UD’s Junkie, much since the Christmas season, but I’ll figure it out. That Rimmel is one of my favorite shades,109, but the last time I wore it it was Weird (due to weird lips), so I’ve been afraid of it.
That Colourpop shade is Scorpio Moon (lol of course I bought it) and the quality and experience of it is unbelievable and it makes me want to buy more of them all the time. I’m hoping to get Flower Szn. Their Lux Lipsticks could be the best thing on the market–not just for the price, but for any price–if they kept them consistent and were willing to fill out a permanent range, but they won’t, because they are Colourpop! So they become the best for the price, maybe, but I still think something like Maybelline is a safer bet across the range. Anyway this color is so strange–which is good, it is unique. It turned out to be way more cool-toned on me than I expected, but at the same time it is not cool-toned enough, so I keep wearing it hoping it will be a delicious creamy greige, but it is not. That has been a trend for me this year, I am craving a delicious creamy greige and I have none. Hence these NYX shades, Haze (the straight grey) and Castle (the lavender, what a cute name), both of which I reach for when I want greige, and I end up disappointed, even though they are both good, especially that purple, which is a dear shade to me!

So I am one who’s totally obsessed with glowing to the sky. Powders, putty, liquids, you name it and I’ve probably used it.
My highlighters all look nice on their own, but I wonder what they would look like if I were to layer them into one big highlight. Would it be the stuff that glowing dreams are made of? Or will it be more reminiscent of the tin man gone bad chopping wood in the forest?
Highlighter One
To kick it all off, I started with my tried, tested and loved liquid illuminator Copacabana from Nars. This can be a little hard to use because its a liquid and can be a little messy, however, when done correctly, this can be amazingly beautiful and blinding!
This highlighter is available here
Highlighter Two
The Next highlighter that I added was Transcendence from Stila. This is one of those super blinding putty highlighters that everyone loves. This is the purple toned one of the three. Honestly, it doesn’t look too bad yet, given we are only two highlighters in, but if they keep layering like this maybe it won’t look too bad.
The highlighter is available here
Highlighter Three
Next up is my other Stila putty highlighter. This one is the pinky champagne shade Kitten. This is a beautiful highlighter on its own, maybe somewhat better for a slightly deeper skin tone than me, but it is beautiful. It layered quite nicely over the highlighter before, it did cancel out the purple, but managed to add more luminosity which is always fun!
The highlighter is available here
Highlighter Four
If I thought that I looked okay before, The gold kinda ruined it! It made the other shades look and feel so cakey. Also this one tends to pull my foundation off my face which isn’t the most fun. I just have to make sure that I apply it quickly after makeup. This doesn’t have as much pigment as the other highlighters so didn’t have as much impact, but it addles a slight sparkle.
The highlighter (technically a blush but it’s very bright on me) is available here
Highlighter Five
We are now onto my powder highlighters. We will start with the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter in the shade Blinded by the Light. This layered surprisingly well over the top of the liquid and cream products I’d already put over my face. This highlighter definitely added more brightness to my already pretty blinding highlight.
The highlighter is available here
Highlighter Six
I’m totally starting to shine like a diamond. The next highlighter that I used is the Tarte Spellbound Glow Highlighter. This is a really beautiful bright highlighter that makes me glow when I use it alone. When used on five other highlighters I glow soooo much!
My face really is so super uncomfortable now though. My cheeks are feeling tight and my face feels like it wants to crack! Not the nicest feeling
The highlighter is available here
Highlighter Seven
Now we are getting on to my really, really intense highlighters. This is my Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Princess Cut. This is probably the most intense highlighter that I own when I use it alone, so this is absolutely crazy on top of all of the others! Again I’m sooooo super uncomfortable, I don’t suggest doing this to your face. It will not like it!
The highlighter is available here
Also check out my post on Jeffree Star highlighters here
Highlighter Eight
Onto Makeup Revolution’s Skin Kiss in Ice Kiss. This is such a beautiful highlighter. It’s light enough to work on my extremely pale skin, but warm enough to actually give that “sun kissed” seeling. This highlighter is an amazing price and superior quality also.
This highlighter is available here
Highlighter Nine
Last but not least is the 24 Karat Gold Skin Frost Pro Palette from Jeffree Star. The colours in this palette are made for someone with a much deeper skin tone than me, but I put them on and ooooh how awful I looked. I wear some of these colours sparingly occasionally, but all of them together over other highlighters? NO!
This highlighter is available here
I look sooo Damn Fine
Final Thoughts
Okay so this totally isn’t something I would suggest anyone do. It is super uncomfortable and honestly, I just ended up with this awful “stripe” on my face. Not a good look and it feels awful too!
Let me know what you think!
xo Chelsea
No Highlighter
After First Highlighter – Copacabana
After Second Highlighter – Transcendance
After Third Highlighter – Kitten
After Fourth Highlighter – Gold Member
After Highlighters 5&6 Tarte highlighter and Jeffree Skin Frost
After Seventh Highlighter – Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss
Final Highlighters – Jeffree Star Palette
Funday Sunday – Putting all of my Highlighters on my Face! So I am one who's totally obsessed with glowing to the sky. Powders, putty, liquids, you name it and I've probably used it.

As a lover of all things YouTube, I’m constantly being drawn in to make up videos -I’m a real sucker for holy grail videos. So, in todays post, I’ve decided to do a full face make up look using all the products I’ve purchased solely because of YouTube and the fact I’m very easily influenced! Little disclaimer, I am in no way a makeup artist, so please don’t expect my makeup skills to be 100% amazing! I just try my best and have a lot of fun doing it! (All product prices will be captioned either on the picture or visible when you hover over them!)
This is a super simple, every day pinky/purple themed make up look! (there’s not really much you can do besides pinky/purple when your main ingredient is the naked 3 palette.. let’s be honest)
Now here I am looking scarily bare faced! Something I tend to embrace on the daily basis. Not because I particularly love my bare face, but just because I’m really quite lazy.
– NIVEA MEN POST SHAVE BALM –
Clinique Moisture Surge £22/$39
Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm £3.52/$4.77
First off I head for the bathroom and cleanse my face, using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, whack on a bit of serum and it’s time to start my makeup. With combination skin I love a mixture of both a hydrating moisturiser and a slightly mattifying primer. My first YouTube inspired products are the Clinique Moisture Surge and yes you heard correctly, the Mens Nivea Post Shave Balm. I’m sure you’ve heard the hype surrounding it and Nikkitutorials raving about it but voila, I can 100% vouch for the fact it works! Make up stays on, and my skin feels prepped and primed!
– NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION –
NARS Sheer Glow £32/$47
Next up is my foundation. NARS Sheer Glow is an all time YouTube favourite! Particularly mentioned by Tanya Burr and Zoella. It’s super full coverage and glowy, perfect for summer days and not so heavy it feels like you pores are clogged. Today, however, I decided to mix some of MAC’s Prep and Prime with it! My blemishes and bumps are in full swing right now so I didn’t particularly want to smother them in heavy foundation!
– URBAN DECAY NAKED CONCEALER & LAURA MERCIER TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER –
Urban Decay Naked Concealer £19/$28
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder £29/$38
Concealer and setting powder! Both of these products I bought in America after lusting over them for so long in videos. The Naked concealer certainly lives up to it’s name, covering up every little imperfection I have. The Laura Mercier setting power on the other hand… Not my favourite. Now I’m sure if I was a fan of the full-face-heavy-makeup look, I’d love it. But for me, powder tends to make me feel a bit cakey and as if my skin can’t breathe. So for that very reason, this product hardly leaves my make up drawers!
– CLINIQUE CHUBBY CONTOUR & NARS LAGUNA BRONZER –
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour £19/$23
NARS Bronzer in Laguna £29/$40
My favourite step. Bronzer. Oh how I miss having a tan! Now don’t worry, I don’t go super crazy with the bronzer I just love a nicely bronzed cheekbone. I use the Clinique Chubby Stick to contour (super creamy texture, easy to blend with my beauty blender) and then the NARS Bronzer in Laguna to bronze the areas of my face that would naturally catch the sun. I must say, both products do indeed live up to the hype. The colours they produce are so summery and flattering on my skin tone.
– MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA & BENEFIT BROW ZINGS –
Maybelline Brow Drama £4.99/$7.99
Benefit Brow Zings £26.50/$32
With naturally thick and dark brows I don’t have to use too much of these products. The Maybelline Brow Gel is by far my fave out of the two! It’s doesn’t smudge, dries quickly, and keeps my brows in shape all day! I’ve mentioned the Benefit Brow Zings before, it’s great, but it can sometimes smudge, so be wary!
– URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE 3 –
Urban Decay Naked Palette 3
£39.50/$54
Ahh the Naked 3 Palette, one of YouTube’s most sought after palettes. Now I’m not sure if I received a dud palette, but I just don’t see the appeal. Yes, the colours are lovely and I’m a huge fan of the pinky tones, but the quality just isn’t amazing. Definitely not what i’d expect from Urban Decay. Compared to my other palettes, it’s just a bit.. solid? I find it particuarly hard to blend and it takes a while for any colour pay off on certain colours. It’s odd because some of the colours in the palette glide on fabulously! Others, well, they just seem really hard to even get out of the pan. Overall, it’s ok, but I kind of wish I hadn’t have listened to YouTube on this one.
– LAURA MERCIER MATTE RADIANCE BAKED POWDER –
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 £28.50/$42
And here we are, the second to last product. I’ve spoken about this highlighter before and how great I think it is, but I hadn’t told you that YouTube had been my buying inspiration! On YouTube videos it had looked amazing! Sparkly, glowy and everyones cheekbones just looked so damn highlighted! I found myself thinking maybe it’s the camera, maybe it’s the professional lighting they’re using, but I still went ahead and purchased it. I’m so so so glad I did. It’s my number one favourite highlighter, when the light catches it it looks so gorgeous. I wish these pictures could really capture it but hey, i’m no professional and iPhone front cameras really aren’t the best!
– GEREARD COSMETICS HYDRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK –
Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick £11/$20
Finally! We’ve made it to the last product! Gerard Cosmetics are really making a name for themselves recently and YouTubers haven’t been quiet when reviewing them! Their Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks have proven to be seriously popular among the beauty channels so what else could I do but purchase one? Available on BeautyBay, they’re not as cheap as Colour Pop but I’d say they have them slightly beat. I feel like I could eat a three course meal and this lipstick would still be on my lips. The staying power is amazing. Sticking to my love of a pink/nude lip, I chose the colour Serenity. I love it and am incredibly grateful that YouTube made me buy it!
So here it is! The finished look, a what I deem ‘ super super natural’ every day makeup look!
I really hope you enjoyed this post, why not let me know if you’ve been inspired to buy anything purely because of YouTube? I’d love to hear from you!
xoxo, Liana
