I just went to pride so here's what I think the study group would be doing at pride
Abed: he and Troy would be cosplaying inspector spacetime and constable Reggie, and Abed would stop every time they see a furry to take a picture with them -- he likes to say he admires their craft and dedication to said craft (because seriously those things are super expensive and intricate).
Troy: as stated previously, he would be cosplaying. I also firmly believe he would be trying SO hard not to look at the people in bondage or the just free-flying boobs because he doesn't want to disrespect someone's privacy. he's also a pride flag wearer change my mind
Annie: Annie would be part of the parade, she would be the sole creator of a Greendale float. if she's not part of it, she would find the drag queen stages and just stand at the back of the crowd swaying a little bit.
Britta: piss drunk the second she sees her first rainbow feather boa. like Annie, she's with the drag queens/live music, but she's in the front and very aggressively dancing. she spits on the cops of course, and runs naked through a fountain just for fun.
Jeff: standing in the 21+ area holding one singular palm-sized rainbow flag trying to get with every pasty-wearing person he sees (shamelessly because he's very drunk). incrementally he will find someone blowing bubbles and go "hit me" just for fun, it's like splashing water in your face but... soap.
Shirley: Shirley has one of those signs that are like "don't understand but I support!" or "be gay or whatever." she would have one of the booths for Shirley's Sandwiches and be offering a "limited rainbow sandwich" that has every flavor and none of them work together, but THEY SELL because it's PRIDE and RAINBOWS.
Frankie: Frankie is a coordinator, she walks around the event (collecting the free shit and) making sure everything is in working order. she might even introduce the performers.
Chang is wearing a neon banana hammock and crocs, walking around and insulting everyone.
The Dean is standing in the middle of the drag queen crowd, in FULL drag, just continuously saying "yeah these queens, man, they're great I guess, if you're into that thing of course."

2020 Top 7 (and 1)
2020 am I right? We saw an insane amount of games come out and 2 brand new consoles. What a wild and weird year for gaming, and life in general. In case you are relatively new here, and to be honest that would be completely fair considering I don't post very often on Tumblr anymore, every year going on the last 4 years (on here) I have done a Top 7 (& 1) for my favorite videogames of the year. Check out 2019, 2018, & 2017. What’s wild, as I look back on my list of games that I’ve completed and played, only maybe 10 came out this year. 2020 was a huge backlog year.
Lets get on with the ‘And 1!”
Favorite Game that Didn’t Come out in 2020: Control (PS4)
Tumblr media
Control may very well have been my 2019 Game of the Year, had I played it in 2019. I LOVED Control. I wanted to play it in 2019, but initial reports that it was a little rough on base consoles put me off until it was fixed. And Holy smokes what an insanely fun and trippy game once I finally started it. I knew within the first 20 minutes this was going to be the shit when I went down a hall, walked into a room and talked to the “janitor” left out a door behind him and the entire building had shifted. I’ve always liked Remedy games, but from a distance. Max Payne 1&2 and Alan Wake all oozed with weirdness and intrigue, but never enough for me to finish them. I missed out on Quantum Break. The story is Control is just the right amount of mind f*!$ for me and builds a universe I didn’t know I needed. It take some time to piece everything together, then everything just clicks. The game does have a weird difficulty spike when fighting bosses and the checkpoints were too far apart at times, but those were later patched. I spent an insane amount of time within the Federal Bureau of Control building and even more time after that with the Foundation and AWE DLC and it STILL wasn’t enough. I wanted more. Outside of Prey, I can’t think of another game that stuck in my brain more after I’d finished it. Control is absolutely a MUST PLAY title. In a world where everything sort’ve feels similar, Control stands out of the crowd.
Number 7: Astro’s Playroom (PS5)
Tumblr media
I never thought in my wildest dreams that a game I had almost zero interest in playing would end up on my list of favorite games this year. Astro’s Playroom is being labeled as a ‘Tech demo’ but that feels like an insult to what it is. It’s a full fledged game and its free! I’ve paid more for less. A charming little platformer that lives and breathes the history of the Playstation. So many cool Easter eggs and references. It certainly centers its gameplay around the DualSense controller and everything it can do, but at its core, its a completely approachable and forgiving 3D platformer. I played it just to see what it was about, next thing i knew I had completed all the levels and wanted to further explore all the nooks and crannies within the game. I wanted to see everything the game had to offer and I had an absolute blast doing so. Makes me kinda wish I’d played the previous game on PSVR (I’d have to have a PSVR too)
Number 6: Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5)
Tumblr media
Another quality title, albeit a spin-off, from Insomniac to add to their Spider Man universe. Gameplay felt obviously like Spider-Man, but Miles has unique abilities that made the game feel different enough, especially the cloak and stealth. I enjoyed the fact that it was short and concise. The issue with most ‘open-world’ games is that they are entirely too bloated with unnecessary filler content (I’ll get to that in a later game), something I felt the first game suffered from, but I also understand why they are there. However I could’ve use one or two more story missions to help flesh out some characters, but it wasn’t required and didn’t change my opinion one way or the other. My one BIG gripe was with Miles himself. He is an extremely smart young kid, but so incredibly naïve. Peter Parker tells him the one thing he SHOULD NOT do is tell people he is Spider-Man. I get it, that’s part of his growth, but Miles thinks he can just solve his problems by revealing his identity and it almost certainly never works out.
Number 5: The Last of Us: Part 2 (PS4)
Tumblr media
The Last of Us Part 2 may be the most polarizing game in the history of the medium, but for the absolute wrong reasons. I’m in the minority that I very much enjoyed my experience with TLOU2, quite a bit actually. Its better in every single way over its predecessor, except the overall story. There are plenty of fair criticisms to be had about the story and various things within the game itself, but I thought the gameplay was so tight and crunchy. There were genuine moments of suspense and terror that I felt that no other game has ever given me. The entire hospital section (2nd time) was so susensful, I had to put my controller down to gther myself. Some of my favorite moments in the series I experienced with a character I wasn’t overly fond of. How many games can do that? The Last of Us Part 2 was meant to invoke emotion, not necessarily joy. I think that's what people lost along the way. Say what you will about the direction Naughty Dog has taken over the years, but you would be hard pressed to find a studio that makes games graphically better than they do. Yes, I know about their crunch culture, but this is not a place for that. I will say, the game was a tad bit too long, which is not something it typically say for a single player, narrative driven game. The pacing and the way the story was told wasn’t my favorite, but I respect what it was trying to do, even if it failed in some aspect of that, I finished the game within the week it was released. Something I RARELY ever do. I’m a father and I related with Joel a lot in TLOU, but I also recognized how wrong he was. There is a lesson to be learned. Your actions always have consequences and while he was doing what he thought was the right thing, it wasn’t his choice to make, and in doing so set up a series of events that were entirely avoidable, but again, that’s the point isn’t it?
Number 4: Grindstone (Switch)
Tumblr media
I’m counting this as a 2020 game since it just came to the Switch this year ( less than a month ago) but its not the first time I’ve played it. Grindstone was the only reason I kept my Apple Arcade subscription and when I let it lapse, there was a void I just couldn’t fill. I bought Puzzle Quest on Switch but it just wasn't the same. Its THE perfect game for bite sized play, even though in its addictive nature, you’ll clear a few levels and an hour has passed before you know it. It has the perfect amount of depth that most ‘match’ games don't. You have different weapons, items, and outfits w/perks to use and experiment with to keep it fresh. I went months without playing my Switch and when this was announced in August, I couldn’t wait! Sadly, I had to wait 3 months, but since then I have spent so much time on the Switch. It gave me a reason to play it again. The art style and humour is great. The variety of enemies and challenge is just right. I can’t recommend it enough. Seriously, check this game out!
Number 3: Doom Eternal (Xbox One)
Tumblr media
I will be the first to tell you, I did not like Doom (2016). I found it extremely boring and trite. I understood what Doom(2016) was doing and it succeeded, maybe too much. Nostalgia is a helluva thing. So in saying that, I was mildly interested in Doom Eternal. Doom Eternal is nothing like 2016 outside of it being a Doom game that connects to the rest of them (& also being a sequel to 2016). The mechanics are drastically different with more platforming (for better or worse). Eternal is challenging, at times very hard, especially early on. Eternal has no respect for its players, in a weirdly good way. It laughs at how you’ve played FPS before this one and WILL MAKE you play it its way, not your way. Yes, you point and shoot, but ammo is scare and you MUST use everything in your arsenal. No more using just 2 guns for the whole game. The enemies are relentless. Sometimes you have to pause and take a breath after a battle because you go a 100 mph for the whole fight. You have to continuously move or you die. There is an enticing rhythm to it. I categorize Eternal as ‘Blood Ballet’. Its a game where when your feeling it, much like a rhythm game, you get in the zone and there is no stopping demons from getting slayed. Surprisingly, unlike most games in the genre, it seemed to get easier (sans one extremely frustrating platforming section late in the game) the longer you played it. Was that a testament that I ‘learned’ the Eternal way or it truly did get easier? I don’t know, but the final Boss(es) were....easy.. I had more problems and deaths within the first 4 hours than I did the final 8-9 hours. The multiplayer was also surprisingly fun. The older I get, the less interested I am in multiplayer, but I found myself coming back for more for a good month or so.
Number 2: Gears Tactics (Xbox One)
Tumblr media
As 2020 comes to a close, I came to a stunning realization. I might be a bigger Gears of War fan than I had previously thought. Don’t get me wrong. I love Gears, but I seem to love Gears more than I thought. I'm way more invested into the lore than I recall. Anyways, Gears Tactics is everything XCOM 2 SHOULD’VE been. Not only does Gears Tactics utilize the Overwatch action, its makes it EXTREMELY important. The story revolves around the father of Kait Diaz, Gabe and a ragtag group of mostly random soldiers to take down Ukkon. Anyone who is remotely interested in the Gears universe will love the story and references. The gameplay is just so damn satisfying. The bosses are very challenging and different. I actually had to change my strategy to finish the final boss. I experimented with a totally different style of class and was rewarded for it. The post game stuff is also aplenty. This game scratched a VERY specific itch for me and I’m itchy to jump back in. I’m glad this came to Xbox One because I’m current computer could not run it.
Number 1: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4)
Tumblr media
I have a very odd relationship with massive open world games. I love them, but I get very burnt out on them. They all have a relatively same-y formula and are often populated with bloat. GoT does have some of that but to its advantage, its not very populated, in a good way. One of the things that I really appreciated about GoT and its side quest is most of them felt meaningful. The thing that really stood out to me about GoT is the absolutely satisfying combat. It just feels SO GOOD. It requires timing and patience. There are different fighting styles for different enemies and even the armor you wear is more than just cosmetic. The combat is so fun and satisfying that I was immediately excited when they announced Legends, a multiplayer add on, for free. Its so much fun and is a blast to play with a group of friends. I’m sporadically still playing the Legends mode. I initially wanted to play the game in ‘Kurosawa’ mode but I am glad I didn’t because the game, even on the PS4 is stunning, and on the upgrade on PS5 is jaw-droppingly smooth. I did play the entire game in Japanese with English subtitles. I still don't know what Jin’s English voice sounds like. GoT does a good job a drip feeding you new abilities and things to keep things fresh. I love stealth and once I unlocked it, I spent the majority of every battle taking out as many enemies as I could while in stealth mode. Ghost of Tsushima does a lot of things very well, that the few things it doesn’t can be easily overlooked.

Okay, I just saw FFH
I’ll say right off the bat, it was a million billion times better than Endgame, despite the lack of Tony Stark. I’m already planning on seeing it again. But I do have both positive and negative feelings, which I will discuss in full spoiler openness, under the cut.
It’s very strange. I did....I would say I liked it a lot. Almost loved it. But it also makes me feel strangely empty. I guess this links with the fact that I feel very separate from an MCU that doesn’t contain a living Tony Stark. It feels very, very weird to think he’s not alive anymore. My brain still doesn’t compute it even though I know it’s a stone cold fact, and it’s like I’ve built a glass wall between myself and this new world they’re living in. I see it, but I don’t feel like it’s the same world I’ve been in love with for eleven years. And while I can say it was a very good movie, it’s hard for me to connect with it the way I previously would have.
I’m gonna do pros and cons, and start with the cons, so I can end this post on a positive note. But I do have more pros than cons! So that’s good.
CONS:
- I know the MCU is not known for its nuance or it’s emotional content, but I would have liked a lot more personal details about Tony from Peter. We know they were close. A few lines would have done it.  - Brad. We didn’t need a love triangle, and he added nothing to the plot. - What EDITH stands for. I think I’m the only person who thinks that’s out of character. It feels like what people believe Tony is, that facade he puts on, but it’s not who he actually is. Maybe we can take it as he’s making fun of what people think of him? I don’t know, but it felt off to me. - The timing of the MJ/Peter romance. There will be more about them in the pros section, but the timing still feels wrong. I don’t know why this sudden romance needed to be the focus of this movie. I understand that he was distancing himself from his grief, but the grief felt.......barely present. It was good, when it was there, but it wasn’t there enough. I wish we had gotten more friendship between MJ and Peter, or at least a rundown of what they’d been through in the year we missed? And am I getting that right? Did a year pass? Is that what they were telling us in the beginning bit? - Going off that, I wish we had seen Peter deal with losing five years like....at all. Even a little bit, lol. He was essentially dead. That would have been an amazing focus, along with dealing with losing Tony and his want for a normal life/girlfriend. Why can’t they balance this shit? - I wanted more about the world and what was going on, obviously. But I knew we weren’t gonna get that.  - Peter shouldn’t have walked right by that one gorgeous Iron Man mural with the candles. He didn’t even spare it a glance and that was weird to me. - I really wish we had been able to see Peter’s actual face during the horrifying Iron Man illusion. I love the Spidey suits but I really wanted to see his face. - Take off your clothes scene was very uncomfortable lol, and it was even worse because PETER was uncomfortable.
PROS - Tom. Tom Tom TOM! He was just......incredible. He does so much with what he’s given, he brings everything to the next level and he’s our best Spider-Man. I can’t even say enough about him. I love his face, I love his inflections, I love how he moves, I love his expressions, I love every single thing about him. He has wonderful timing. He’s the best. - Happy. He was so great. He added to every scene he was in. I loved his interactions with Peter’s friends, especially when they were hiding with the crown jewels lol. I loved him handing it to “Nick” in the end, saying Peter would call him :) - MJ. She got so much more to do in this and it really makes me wish we had seen more of her in the first movie.  - Going off that, MJ and Peter. Despite the terrible timing of their romance, it was surprisingly cute. I really liked how MJ was softer and changed when she was alone with Peter. They felt genuine and I wasn’t expecting it and I really enjoyed it. They were sweet together. I will say I preferred when they were physically together as opposed to Peter talking to Ned/Mysterio about her. - Ned. Amazing, as always. So funny, so sweet, the best friend. I loved his and Peter’s hug. - Betty and Ned. Really funny kind of critique of teenage romance, lol. - Jake G. I wasn’t really feeling him, but then....THE TURN. He was incredible. One of his best performances, for real. - And going off that....he was so insane. So, so insane. All the music cues helped too. I don’t think Tony’s legacy or character is tarnished AT ALL because this dude was so, so cuckoo bonkers. He was ordering hits on kids and nonchalantly talking about casualties and he was just a LUNATIC. I’m not worried about Tony. And anyone who uses Beck as their source for their Tony hate? Doesn’t look good, fam. He had his crazy eyes on from the bar scene forward. Insane person. He was willing to kill all his pals. He was the worst, lol. - Annnnddd in relation to that, MJ giving Brad the business in the end and specifically using the phrase about how “Peter isn’t here to tell his side” or whatever it was. I think that totally was meant to go along with all the Tony/Beck stuff. It felt purposeful. - I liked the ‘I Will Always Love You’ tribute - The Tony murals in every damn city? They were gorgeous. I hope they release images of those because I wanna see them lol. He was so loved. - I’m glad they had May talk about ‘blipping’ back into her apartment and someone else was living there. They actually addressed something! - Peter having a panic attack at the beginning when Tony was mentioned? Really good. Really sad. - I like that Tony trusted Peter enough to give him the glasses. It shows just how much he trusted him. And this is nothing like project insight, because Tony isn’t Pierce. He has good intentions. It is for protection. People need to chill, lol. Peter was acting like a bit of a moron on the bus, but I believe by he end he has a handle on it and will be much, much better about it. Him jumping out of the bus and destroying the drone was cool. - Bar scene was really good. I know Peter saw Tony in Beck when he put on the glasses :( And his self doubt is so painful. Tony had such trust in him and Peter just can’t believe it. HURTS. - The illusion scene had such magnificent visuals. I want to see it again in 3D, but it was awesome. I said earlier I wanted to see Tom’s face, but he did a great job with all his body movements. He’s just so great, lol. - Iron Man zombie shook me, made me jump, got me upset. As did Mysterio’s taunting in that moment. What an asshole. - I liked the “stakes” in terms of how Peter got so, so messed up in this movie. Poor thing. He was still limping in the scene at the airport! Seeing him get hit by the train was so hard. - The plane scene was my favorite part of the whole movie, from the tulip field to the suit getting built. I loved the hug, Happy trying to be soft and dealing with Peter’s outburst. Peter crying, their talk, “i miss him so much”, Tony never, ever second guessing Peter. THE ONE THING. That hurts so bad lol. And Happy watching Peter make the suit, fondly, seeing Tony in him. It makes me cry thinking about it. Peter carries Tony with him always, because he’s part of him, he’s in his heart, he was his protege and even if he doesn’t believe it, Tony believed in him. He knew he was the best of them. GODDAMN THEM. I love seeing Peter and Happy interact as they did here because they really remind me of Happy and Tony. Peter’s Tony’s kid. There’s no denying it at this point. - MJ and her mace. Chef’s kiss. - The whole final battle was fucking amazing. Some of the best shit in the MCU. I loved seeing Peter get to be a BADASS, get to show his smarts and his strength and use that Spidey sense. He was amazing. - Stopping Beck from shooting him? Incredible. One of my favorite Marvel shots. I loved Peter angry and standing up for himself here. So good.  - The kisses were pretty cute. The holding hands was definitely cute. Swinging was very cute, as was how excited Peter was about it. - I really like Happy and May and I hope it goes somewhere. C’mon May! - I’m of two minds on the reveal. It pisses me off that fucker did this. He was obviously planning it and now he’s painted a target on a 16 year old’s back, and once again, anyone who tries to use him as a source is a SOCIOPATH. I feel so bad for Peter, and it makes me really sad because this would be an amazing thing for Tony to be involved with. Peter definitely needs Tony right now, and I hope SOMEONE reliable helps him. I know Happy will, but he needs a powered person too. PLEASE. I worry about where they’ll take this. It could be cool, possibly seeing him on the run, but if they have any ideas about killing May or any of his friends because of this, I’ll kill them. - Skrulls thing was funny and it also explains why Fury felt so off. SLJ did an amazing job with that, lol.
In conclusion, I really loved a lot of what they presented to me. Mostly because Tom is truly spectacular. But a world without Tony Stark will always have a certain amount of emptiness to it, and I won’t be following any other Marvel films save for Spider-Man. I’ll follow Spider-Man because I love Peter/Tom. But it’s always gonna be really painful knowing Tony is gone and they’ll never give us the amount of emotional content that we deserve when it comes to him.
But I will recommend FFH. I give it an 8/10, and I think I’ll enjoy it even more on a second viewing. For being in ‘the bad timeline’, this was a good film.

Hii , if you are still doing requests could I do a reader x Peter Parker ? Where the reader has "the Phoenix force" as her powers . Reader is fighting along side with Spider-Man but she cannot fully control her powers and it can be dangerous at full force . But she had to to save her friends and she kinda uses it at full force and Peter has to go save her . C: thank you . I hope it's an okay idea ...
Of course! Always accepting requests :)
I love your request. It’s different and it pushed me out of my comfort zone, which I appreciate you for that. Personally, I feel like my actual writing of it is trash and could have been done much better. Also, I kinda switched it up a bit from the request. BUT I hope that you enjoy it.
Peter Parker x Reader
- - -
It’d been less than 365 days since you’d stumbled onto the grounds of the compound. The place was that meant to be a temporary refuge had soon turned into your home.
Being one of the youngest in the group, you were top priority in the safety department. You’d rarely been out to missions, everyone far too afraid you’d get hurt. The state you were in when you’d arrived was all the more reason for them to worry about you.
During your time at the compound, you’d spend copious amounts of time trying to hone your powers. Just trying to learn who the hell you were. You knew only so much - they were too massive for you to even begin to understand. And you weren’t the only one, everyone in the compound was curious about your abilities.
You couldn’t recall how it’d happen. You just remember the surge of power, almost like electricity, coursing through your veins.
“There’s an attack near the school - yeah, yeah Peter’s school. We need to get everyone there,” you heard Tony speak into the earpiece attached at his ear almost 24/7. Your ears perched at the mention of Peter’s name getting to your feet in a matter of seconds.
You’d gotten to know Peter over the course of the year. Being the other youngest in the group, you’d bonded over the unfairness of being excluded from certain missions. And the lectures you were constantly given about learning how to control your powers before implementing.
You walked near Tony trying to tag along. This was Peter. Peter who was possibly in danger. Peter whose friends attended his school and you’d gotten to know through the stories he told you when he came to the compound after school. Peter … who you couldn’t deny had your heart on the palm of his hand and he didn’t even know it.
Tony motioned with hands that you could not go before flying out of sight.
There was no way you were going to sit pretty while everyone was out there. When the boy, the boy with those endearing brown eyes, was somewhere out there needing your help.
- - -
“What are you doing here, y/n?” You heard the sweet, but panicked, voice of the boy call out through the tiny chip resting near your ear.
“I’m here to save your butt,” you joked, a sad attempt at lightening the mood. Nothing about this situation was light. There were students running towards safety, the loud honking of cars ringing in your ears.
You tried to remember everything that Wanda had taught you over the course of the year. She was the only person had begun to understand the great power that vested within you. Concentrate. You repeated in your head as you formed a path for people to exit the crowded areas filled with debris.
Peter was flinging from his webs, trying to distract the entity while you and some of the other Avengers tried to get people to safety.
You’d been caught up in lifting discarded cars and remains of fallen bridges that you didn’t hear Peter call out your name through the chip. In one swift movement you were wrapped up in his arms as he swept you off your feet, helplessly swinging away from the threat.
“Peter, you have to let me down.” You say moving your body so he could release you from his grip. “Are you insane? You’ll get killed!” He argued his grip tightening around your waist.
“Please, Peter. I know what I need to do.” Lies. You didn’t, but you couldn’t watch people get hurt. You tried rationalizing with the boy, but it seemed like no use. He wasn’t going to budge.
In the blink of an eye, however, Peter had lost grip on his web and the two of you went tumbling down on to the concrete.
You groaned, holding the side of your body. The pain unbearable. But not as unbearable as the scene you were currently witnessing. Innocent people being hurt.
You shook, as you felt your body temperature increase. You felt it in every inch of your body, from the very tip of your toes to the top of your head. It was unexplainable. Almost familiar, though.
Holding yourself up on your knees, you looked down at your hands emitting an orangy yellow force. Your body boiling.
Peter’s eyes, even over his suit, were bulging as he saw the flaming aura encompassing your frame. Your eyes, he’d never seen your eyes like that before. Quite frankly, it scared the hell out of him.
“Y/n, what are you doing?” He called out reaching out gripping to the side of his torso, his legs far too weak to make any sudden movements.
You, it was like your soul had left your body. In place was a being unrecognizable, untouchable. Concentrate. You repeated in your head over and over. Focusing your attention on the threat, you let the energy that’d been bottling up surge towards the entity that had caused so much pain and so much hurt.
Peter covered his eyes, letting out a scream. He had no clue what you had just done. He had no clue if you even knew what you had just down.
When the damage was done, he ran to your side. His pain long forgotten, replaced with adrenaline and his worry for you. He picked your motionless body into his arms, shaking you. His hand clutching to the side of your face, trying to bring back consciousness. “Y/n, please wake up. What the hell did you do?” He whispered almost to himself his eyes watering, causing his mask to fog up.
Wanda rushed to your side placing a hand on Peter’s shoulder, her eyes full of worry. “I saw what she did.” She sighed trying to sort her thoughts. “What was that?” Peter asked, his voice muffled by the mask.
“She went full force.” She pressed her ear against your chest. “I hear her heartbeat,” she’s sighs in relieve, but the tears forming in her eyes were unstoppable. The thoughts of what could have happened stung her very core. She couldn’t lose someone again.
Your eyes shot open, body convulsing. Your breathing heavy. Lungs inhaling every bit of air.
Peter’s body lit up watching you awaken. He brought his masked face down to you pressing his forehead on yours. “What were you thinking?” He asked, you could hear his heavy breathing through the mask and you could feel the warmth of his breath on your lips.
You had blacked out. You didn’t remember what happened after your body temperature rose. You couldn’t answer Peter. Because you weren’t thinking.
Peter’s gloved hands got lost in your hair, pulling your body and face closer to him. His other arm still cradling your body. His forehead was still pressed on yours and he wished he could remove the stupid mask so he could feel your soft touch.
I almost died. Should have been your thoughts. But all you could think about was confessing your feelings for Peter because now you knew your powers were bigger than you. Bigger than Peter. And you didn’t want to go another day knowing you could lose yourself or Peter.
I don’t know .. I tried ya’ll. I really did lmao

Dear People Who Underestimate Neville Longbottom,
I want to talk about Neville Longbottom, the pureblood who everyone treated like a squib. I want to talk about a boy that everyone shunted to the side, the boy who everyone saw as powerless and a nuisance, the boy who sat there in a class for seven years with a teacher that was his greatest fear, the boy who walked into the Forbidden Forest at night with Hagrid and didn't shed a single tear.
Neville stood up to his classmates because he thought they were doing wrong and he wanted to prove that he could do something right.
When Seamus came back from Charms with soot and minor burns all up and down his face and arms, Neville quietly took him and Dean (who wouldn't release his hold on Seamus' hand) aside to the greenhouse and showed them the bubotuber plants and how they worked. He quietly told them all about the plants, pride showing through his nervous whisper. Neville wasn't very good at most of their classes, but Herbology he excelled in.
Let's think about how nervous he was to enter the Forbidden forest but still did it anyway.
Neville Longbottom was a child, just like Harry Potter, and then he was a teenager, just like Harry.
He did not come to Hogwarts where groups of people would automatically vilify and lionize him, expect him to be a hero- he came in tripping over his robes, losing his frog, and just generally causing a mess. First impressions are nasty little things, and that's how Hogwarts greeted him. That's the clumsy memory that most chose to hang on to when they thought of Neville Longbottom. Not the fantastic Herbology grades, or his support of Harry, or his victory at the Ministry- just little Neville Longbottom tripping over his too-long robes.
Children can be cruel, and Neville spent the next few years being called useless and squib and 'Puff.
Everyone said Neville was a talentless Hufflepuff- he took it stride. Hufflepuffs were fair, and hard-working, and loyal. Neville would have been glad to be put in Hufflepuff, where everyone cared about one another and supported each other.
During his third year Millicent Bulstrode plopped herself down next to him while he was studying and said "So, Longbottom, mind telling me the answers to the Herbology homework?" He smiled and started in on a monologue while she stole bites of the biscuit he'd snuck in. When she nodded at the end and gruffly thanked him he didn't expect she'd be back, but he was still proud that he'd managed to successfully teach someone something.
(He wasn't completely worthless.)
When she returned the next week he grinned and offered her a bite of his biscuit.
It became their thing, meeting every week with Neville's snuck in biscuits and Millicent's Herbology textbook. It continued through that year the next year when Neville would meet Luna Lovegood and he would bring her too. It was quite a sight, the bare-footed turnip-wearing blood traitor and one of the future members of the Inquisition Squad sitting side by side and debating the existence of Nargles and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, all the while discreetly eating burnt biscuits that Neville had brought in.
Neville knew things about Luna and Millicent that no one else did.
He knew that Millicent's family, the Bulstrodes, were not Death-eaters but rather a neutral family. He knew that underneath her cool, gruff demeanor she was scared, just like everyone else, but she chose to hide it better. Millicent was cunning, a perfect snake to the eyes of everyone, but Neville knew she was more than that. She wasn't a lion or a snake, no, Millicent was something much different, something uniquely admirable- like a dragon. She joined the Inquisition Squad to feed information to Neville and Luna, and she was the one who summoned Dobby (who she'd been told about by Neville, who'd been told by Harry in one of his stories of second year) and told him about what was going on. Neville knew that Millicent could see thestrals but chose to hide it because she knew what they meant.
He knew that Luna Lovegood, underneath her turnip-earrings and spiral glasses and bare feet, embodied what Ravenclaw stood for in every way, even if no one else could see it. Integrity and honor- Luna held these qualities in spades. He knew that she always wore one sock because her mother had, that she preferred apple juice to pumpkin and burned biscuits to fresh. He knew that Luna truly believed in the creatures she talked about, not because she was insane or innocent, but because her mother and father had told her about them.
He became friends with a snake and an eagle. He was a lion, so together that made them a griffin.
Millicent raised an eyebrow when he burst into giggles one day in library as he thought of that. She didn't say anything about it, just waiting for him to calm down.
"It's the Nargles," Luna whispered, and a corner of Millicent's mouth quirked upwards.
(Millicent knew that Neville's parents were in St. Mungo's because of Bellatrix Lestrange. She knew that he felt happiest and most comfortable in the greenhouses. She knew that he'd witnessed the death of his grandfather and that was why he could see thestrals. She knew that Millicent knew how Neville didn't want to be a hero, never had, but that he just wanted someone to tell him he was brave.
She thought that was silly, that Neville was more than brave in his own right, but she held her tongue. Slytherin did teach a few useful skills.
Luna knew that Neville was kind, and that he was loyal. She knew that he loved chocolate. She knew that he didn't belong in Hufflepuff, as he occasionally mentioned- his strength was brave, and constant, and it wasn't typical Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, but she knew that he was a lion, and that one day everyone else would see it.
Neville wasn't the only person who paid attention to his friends.)
When it came to Dumbledore's Army everyone was shocked to see Neville grow from the bumbling first-year he was to firing spell after spell to get it right.
(First impressions are nasty little things, remember? None of them paused to consider Neville in his second, third, or fourth years. Not even Ginny, who had seen him at the Yule Ball after he'd spent ages practicing, realized the man he was growing into. No, that distinction belonged to Luna, who smiled that distant smile of hers as he cast a successful Disarming Spell, and Millicent, who wasn't even in the room.
No, people saw Neville and they could only think of him tripping, stumbling over the hem of his robes as he lunged for his lost toad.
Millicent and Luna looked at him and they saw strength.)
Neville's happy thought was last year, when he was preparing to ask Ginny to the Yule Ball, and Millicent and Luna had taught him how to dance. Millicent had laughed, once, and had genuinely smiled at him a few times as she taught him to waltz. Luna taught him how to dance like a bird, to dance with the lights that floated above their heads.
His Patronus was non-corporeal.
(Millicent, in the times she practiced alone after hours, Neville and Luna teaching her what she could not learn from Umbridge, thought of afternoons in the library and burnt biscuits and distant smiles.
She managed a non-corporeal Patronus, and Luna and Neville grinned at her.
Luna thought of kind Snakes, smiling Lions, and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks.
Her Patronus was a rabbit, a creature equally at home on earth and in spirit.)
Let's talk about how Neville was able to pull the Sword of Gryffindor out of the Sorting Hat not because he was the only one who was willing to yell at Voldemort but because two years ago a girl with a faraway smile and turnip-earrings spent Saturdays teaching him about Thestrals.
Because one year ago he ran into the Department of Mysteries on the panicked words of a friend and confronted his parents' torturer.
Because three years ago a teacher tortured a spider in front of him and then afterward sat him down with a cup of tea and told him that emotion was not weakness- hatred, anger, and sorrow were just as powerful as love, politeness, and joy.
Because for the past year he'd become a General, not because he wanted to but because he would not let younger kids get hurt for nonsensical reasons.
Because four years ago a girl, his supposed enemy, had plopped herself down and listened to him talk, all the while stealing bites of his biscuit.
Because seventeen years ago his parents were tortured into insanity because they'd dared to go against the ideals of the families they were a part of.
Because six years ago he stood in front of his only friends and dared them to knock him down.
He did not pull that sword out nicely- he yanked it out, pouring out his anger and frustration and sorrow into the movement. He screamed at Voldemort, shouting out in defiance.
Defiance was what Neville was, in a word. When they told him he was talentless, a squib in wizard's robes, he got the highest Herbology grades in their year. When they told Neville that he was clumsy and friendless, he found his own friends in the corners of libraries and the crumbs of burnt biscuits. They said he would never amount to anything and he became one of the three Generals in Dumbledore's Army, and then, after Ginny and Luna both disappeared, became the sole leader of an army of desperate students.
Neville Longbottom became a leader without knowing of the prophecy that could have branded him the Boy-Who-Lived. He became a hero not because he was destined for it or because a headmaster trained him for the position but because Neville Longbottom had spent the last seventeen years of his life being underestimated and torn down and the only people who had ever cared about him were being hurt.
Neville had been spending so long defying everyone and their expectations that when Voldemort called on Neville to join him Neville had no trouble fighting back.
Let's talk about how later on in the fight he fought back-to-back with Millicent, who shot off Stunning Spells that hit his opponents as much as hers.
Let's talk about how he smiled at her at the end before they ran into the Hall after everyone else, and how she nodded grimly back at him.
Gryffindors and Slytherins weren't supposed to be friends, but let's talk about how as soon as Neville bought his flat in London Luna and Millicent were the first to visit, Luna in her turnip earrings and Millicent carrying a familiar tub of burnt biscuits.
Neville accepted the biscuits with a smile and invited them both in. They spent the afternoon eating the biscuits and discussing who they thought was going to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor.
Luna, Millicent, and Neville- a Ravenclaw who believed in what had proven impossible, a Slytherin who would rather hang out with a Lovegood and a Longbottom than anyone who would advance her station, and a Gryffindor who'd fought side-by-side with a Slytherin.
Who could have predicted that?
