I was rewatching the episode last night and something I noticed that I really loved was Carlos' reaction when he realizes he has to go to work during the argument. The look on his face! He's so upset! He wants so badly to stay and continue talking to TK, and he clearly knows that leaving in that moment is only going to make things worse.

The really notable thing about this, though, is the fact that his back is to TK when he has this reaction, so TK doesn't see it. From TK's perspective, Carlos just told him that their lives are going to have to be on pause until Carlos solves his father's murder, something that may NEVER happen. Then he almost immediately gets a work call and has to leave in the middle of their very important conversation.

Obviously, TK knows rationally that Carlos cares about him and their relationship and has been making seemingly a lot of effort to be more present as a husband, but in a moment like this with such intense emotions, it's hard to think rationally. If TK had seen just how upset Carlos was about the news that he was going to have to go into work, it might have made him feel a little better in that moment and feel more connected to his husband, knowing that he so badly wants to stay and work this out. But instead, the distance between them has just been increased!

i’m gonna cry it’s raining right now and i just passed by a family where both parents were without an umbrella but their kid who couldn’t have been older than like 3-4 was proudly holding this GIANT umbrella whose diameter was as tall (if not taller) as the kid. both the parents were getting absolutely drenched but u could tell the kid was just so happy to have an “adult” task and carry the umbrella themselves and i think that sacrifice is what love is all about
