Favorite thing about him

PFT uh, everything? Honestly? If I had to pick one thing though—in the interest of preventing this from becoming a whole 50 page essay—I just love the complexity of his character. I also love the sass he has, as well as all his jokes and witticisms haha. I do love me a man with wit and a sense of humor.

Least favorite thing about him

The fact that he’s dead lol. Also, his inability to deal with loss; great flaw for character exploration, not so great as a flaw in general.

Favorite Line

Hmm, I guess him with either of the Sovs? Literally, the only thing I could see happening between them, if anything at all, is some sort of hate-fling with Cayde and Uldren. But honestly, that’s about it aha. There’s nothing substantial in either of those relationships in my mind.

Random Headcanon

He fidgets, like, a lot. Whether it be by tapping his fingers on the desk, bouncing his leg, messing with his cloak, adjusting his scarf—he’s like a taut bowstring ready to release at any moment. This is mainly due to his restlessness caused by being stuck in the Tower for so long aha. The only time he doesn’t fidget is when he’s playing poker.

Unpopular Opinion(s)

He is the tallest member of the Vanguard and you CANNOT convince me otherwise. Also, he has an extremely hard time forming new attachments, both platonically and romantically, due to his fear of loss. Because, in opening himself up to those kinds of relationships, he also opens himself up to more pain when he inevitably loses this person in one way or another, “Which is why I work alone.”

Despite how much of a hopeless romantic he is in spirit, he doesn’t actually let himself indulge in falling in love very often.

Lol, I mean, I have a whole playlist, but if you’re just wanting ONE song, then I think Seven by Sleeping At Last fits him really well.

Today I’m lazy and tired. I cannot forgive myself If I won’t do anything productive, whatever it means.

So... Here my 3 fav pictures of the trash friendship of dead hunter vanguard Cayde-6 and young wolf, my warlock Iberis-3.

Small fast thoughts about them under keep reading. Tumblr is my trash can for stuff like this.

Here we go.

This friendship isn’t started in a fancy way. Iberis-3 is 2nd Young Wolf in my Destiny AU. The 1st one - Scilla-7 and her ghost were killed by Ghaul. So Cayde and Iberis met at Nessus. It was maybe a bit complicated cuz Eva (the ghost of Iberis) and Sundance know each other before their guardians meet.

Sundance recognized Eva without bigger problems, even she was a bit excited to see Iberis-3 first time but Cayde probably not really. He believed in supermancy of Hunters, but he got a random warlock. ‘Great’.

While they were on communicator with each other, Cayde, unaware that he didn't end the call yet, expressed his disappointment that some skinny warlock from nowhere had become and fix the problem with vex teleports would all take much longer time. This pissed off Iberis. ‘Cuz he was stressed during a fight, he became very ‘unpolite’ - Iberis said something like:

“Why the fu*k I have to help this d*mn hunter with a d*ck on forehead?”.

This suprised Cayde. WHAT THIS WARLOCK SAID ABOUT HIS BEAUTIFUL HORN!? I’m pretty sure in his long life, the hunter seen some rude warlocks who didn’t afraid to swear but oh boy... No one can say anything bad about this horn.

Of course, during the Red War, they met themself better but I cannot say this friendship started at this moment. A bit later, at the Farm in EDZ. At the begging Cayde annoing Iberis. The hunter was pretty sure that my warlock was the type of guardian who worked alone, wasn't care about rules of the vanguard, etc. so... Cayde wanted to know that Ibersi knew some cool places with 'rare kinds of stuff'. Iberis can’t answer of this cuz you probably know why.

The information that Iberis wasn't a guardian, but a civilian before the outbreak of the war, very much surprised Cayde. He never thought there was a persons like Ibi, and maybe is even more?

But anyway in finall their freidshi starts grow.

The one trait of personality, which they share together, is hiding their problems under ‘sense of humor’, maybe in a bit different way. In my opinion, usually Cyade is attention b*tch - he love be around guardians, small talks about everythin, very open to others etc. Iberis is introverted so he usually stays behind the scene, but when he has to talk with strangers, he's calm and polite but also positive and a bit sarcastic. Iberis is sensitive - not only emotional way. He easily can notice small details or very fast associate facts. With a sarcastic nature it can create interesing combo.

So, when they’re alone or in a small group togehter... It can be interesing. I have to draw something like this someday.

Because Cayde is a hunter, he’s curious, even too much. When he’s a farm and he knows Iberis-3 should be here too but he’s not, Cayde’s nosy nature turns on. It was this lvl, that Cayde looking for a long where Iberis disappears at EDZ when he’s not at the farm and doesn’t communicate with anyone. It took a longer while Cayde to find Iberis’es Green House, but he did it. (Iberis was very dissatisfied with this reason btw. He dislikes randoms at this place very, very much. Luckily Cayde was the only one person a very long time). Why Cayde did this?

I cannot say for Cayde it was a friendship so deep like with the Andal Brask but he felt close to Iberis, even of their different personalites. I think that Cayde, when he became very attached to someone, after losing Andal, he tried to do everything not to lose that person again. Looking for 'where Iberis has gone ’was for him as a small fun challenge but also he worried about Ibi as fuq, too. Cayde is aware that Iberis is a very young guardian. He understood that it was better to work solo, but for someone inexperienced like Iberis, it was dangerous.

I admit, Cayde was a bit disappointed that Ibeirs was sitting in some old, dilapidated greenhouse, but he was also relieved. A remote location, away from enemies, seemed a safe place for the white warlock, so Cayde can stay calm. ...and be more annoing come here what Iberis dislike very much of some reasons what Cayde never cared. (Topic for other post, maybe someday).

I probably would like to wrote to much more but... I need sleep. I’m sorry if it a bit messy. Thousand thoughts won’t let me focus correctly at one stuff ugh.

hehe sure thing :3 arturo is much older than canon shep yea! i’m not actually very familiar w ME universe so, idk when exactly but he’s around dr. chakwas’ age. no romancing anyone (but i would Like for him & mordin to be partners) he’s a big nerd!! engineer man!! mostly into math & machines (but is proficient in more than just basic first aid when it comes to health sciences.) major cool uncle vibes. he’s got Some issues (who doesn’t) but he’s lived a long life so like he’s not here to make it anyone else’s problem. he’s mostly just the dad of the crew. paragon, obv, but he’s not a super stickler for rules. doesn’t rlly let himself have nice things tho, his personal space is all work.

fav quest.. idk i just kinda enjoyed goin around space and driving around and shooting things. tbh i like mindlessly doing side quests even tho they’re all pretty samey. or myb bcos they are.

engineer is fun 2 play, tho i’m not sure if i shoulda done that for my first playthru. but it was Very Very funny to rinse thru everything with a pistol because of how nonsensical it is. i say arturo canonically only uses the one pistol he got from his mentor bcos of sentimentality. i did start another run of me1 so i cld play renegade, and that shep’s a soldier so. much faster.

🌺😌🤟 Always happy to! Okay here’s just some General bnha Thoughts ™ Mostly Lov centric. You asked for them, and you said GUSH about them, so here’s. A Lot! :)

This isn’t a lov one but it’s really funny so I thought I’d put it out there:

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao

-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? I think this is probably bc he’s embarrassed about it even in front of the league... I loooove the idea that he gets more comfortable with it around them :”) and also how shigaraki. um. does that falling asleep thing while standing up with his eyes open, canonly? (which I still love lmfao) Imagine someone in the league walking in a dark room, turning on the light n just seeing. Spinner upside down, stuck to the ceiling asleep bc heat rises and its Warmer Up There. (cold blooded thing like tsuyu?? come ON give him a big fuzzy coat and scarf...) and Shigaraki in the center of the room, slouched but still standing, eyes open and motionless. Theyre both sleeping. Whomever sees it just...slowly walks out. LMAO

-Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it.

-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)

-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too.

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?)

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...

I know I’ve said I like spinaraki and blackmagic, but I am a multishipper, so a few ships I don’t talk about that I like that involve the lov in some way:

-toga/any of the 1A girls??? or Camie??? super interesting. ALSO in the radio drama, bakugo’s voice actor said Toga was his favorite girl??? so?? bakugo/toga ?? I WANT TO SEE IT. but specifically my fav dynamic with her is when someone ELSE is the one to like her first, it’s what she deserves.

-Kurogiri/aizawa/mic?? any variety of that is also 👌🏻 I also kinda wanna see kurogiri/all might bc. Dads. COME ON. they bond over ‘well, I raised him, and you want to have a part in his life now?? ok. earn it. prove it. I’ll screen you first’ or something LMAO they’re both genuinely concerned for the boy, and SOOO biased. let them bond.

-WAIT WHERE IS THE MIC/COMPRESS CONTENT. THEYRE BOTH DRAMATIC. ENEMIES TO LOVERS?? HELLO??? SOMEONE?? ANYONE. rarepair hours

-giran/twice is cute. like he was hyping him up so much and so ready to go save him...

-dabi/magne where is the content. when. why not everywhere??? I’ve also seen magne/compress which was cute!! or twice/magne? they’re the big sibs of the lov...

-dabi/spinner?? come ON dabi could get over his learned biases and spend time with him and they could hold hands. I want them to.

-dabihawks. Obviously bc the Drama. yes even still, don’t @ me. (also, shigahawks, seen some REAL interesting fics with it tbh) or spinahawks?? adding hawks to a ship is like adding extra chili powder. makes it SPICY dramatic)

-nine/tomura don’t @ me once again. both kinda afo’s playthings, nine obviously was the test for tomura’s new upgrades...they both love their friends...That Scene in the Flower field </3 hmmm tragicships are fun.

-tomura/mirko. more enemies to lovers. big fan of her and bunnies. remember when he wore bunny ears in bnha smash. (ok its crack but. CUTE.)

-I’ve also seen shiganatsu and shigafuyu and I’m like. these are cute, but also Dabi’s reaction always makes me cry laugh. so good.

-MOST EVERYONE IN THE LOV IS LGBTQA+!!! heres my personal headcanons:

Toga: pan or bi (CANON BASICALLY)

Magne: transwoman (CANON BABEY) bi, leans towards men. (her crush on dabi in bnha smash... uwu content where)

Shuichi: gets sooooo flustered canonly, I think he’d go for the first person Who Hit On Him (I can see him being the target of those mean pranks where someone says ‘my friend likes you!!’ and the friend is like ‘eww!!’ :(((( ) he’s super hesitant for romance, lots of repressed stuff. gay but takes sooo long to realize it bc he thinks most women are conventionally pretty Aesthethically, feels obligated to Like Them, but has bad self esteem so never goes after them, then only likes (1) guy so hes like?? is this allowed?? is this allowed???? (HES LIKE. IN LOVE WITH SHIGARAKI)

Dabi: bi but rly hasn’t ever gotten to date anyone, so he’s actually more reserved about it and while he’ll tease, he absolutely is absent and kinda oblivious (again, I KNOWWWW bnha smash isnt canon, but. my god. when magne is hitting on him and he Just Doesnt Understand.) also hes ace

Tomura: doesn’t care. (just prob says ‘its whatever’) trans/nonbinary (i’M NOT PROJECTING, BUT. :’/) probably goes with like, the label queer if any but doesn’t care much for labels

Kurogiri: bi??? kind of??? I say kind of bc well, I hc U Know Whom as bi, I feel like thatd carry over but he’d be really avoidant to date anyone bc hes gotta Watch His Kid u know? this is gonna sound surprising but I think he’d be the type to be like ‘ok we can have a one night stand/fling BUT it cant get personal bc I have a Job to Do for my Son so don’t get up in your feelings’ and act a little coldly at first or very ..not personable... depending on who it was he’d prob turn around eventually, esp if that person valued his feelings/job :”)

ooooh baby functionist universe time

the cover with the neon ‘everything is fine’ sign is rlly good but also the pile of dead data stick bots makes me so sad omg noooo they're so cute leave them alone :(

minimus and rewind...! its so cool seeing them interact

also I just love the crowd shot, and you can immediately see that there are a ton of data stick bots like rewind around - which isn't what we’re used to at all

also some good ole totalitarian govt stuff like the ‘you are our eyes’ sign (which, in retrospect, is fucking evil damnnnn)

also I'm so [eyezoom] on this functionist universe stuff bc like, this is basically the only time we ever see dominus be a character (rather than hearing abt him thru other characters), and even so he remains pretty ambiguous

like, minimus clearly isn't thrilled that dominus didn't show up to see him at the space airport or w/e when they've been apart for two million years - and even tho we later see why he didn't show up, it still shows that there's some tension there

the amount of crowd shots in this issue is insane

oooof, the fact that they sold luna 2 - and to the black box consortia, who we just heard about last chapter when they previously got into a space battle w/the galactic council and the djd

fu!minimus being part of the primal vanguard is interesting, I wanna see more about that. what was he doing w/them for 2 million years?

rewind just casually saying this completely fucked stuff, like that the govt ‘outlawed the intellectual class’ and ‘deported the knock-offs’ (which I'm assuming is cold constructed bots?)

I really like the sense we get thru minimus and rewind’s convo that all of this fucked up stuff has happened slowly enough that its become almost normal - like, they talk about it casually, even though its clear they don't necessarily agree with any of it

plus the sense of ‘even if things get really bad ill be okay’ that both rewind and minimus seem to adhere to - rewind having been upgraded from being in the disposable class due to his connection w/dominus, and minimus saying ‘I like to think that obsolescence is something that happens to other people’

I love all the fucked up signage this issue. ‘take pride in being a means to an end,’ yikes

god and the fact that there isn't MORE data sticks, there's just LESS of other alt modes bc of how many alt modes the govt has wiped out completely...

oof, and continuing the whole ‘slow change’ thing - minimus saying that ‘the council never touches the astro class,’ and maybe that used to be true, but the govt will keep pushing that line, clearly...

and we get to see minimus’s alt mode! altho we the readers know that this isn't minimus’s true form...

‘amazing, the lengths some people will go to cross class boundaries,’ minimus says, as if he isn't doing exactly what rewinds describing, but even moreso as a loadbearer wearing an entire suit of armor

and then the casual public execution of the last lunabot...oof.

love the ‘cybertron. the present day’ text overlay...I was so confused about this when I first read it lmao. I figured it had to be some sort of au/quantum nonsense but STILL

back on the lost light, chromedome is going full kool-aid man on rewinds door

mannnnn I absolutely love the plotline of rewind 2 and chromedome 1...im so glad the story acknowledges that they ARE different, they did experience different stuff on their own lost lights, and rewind 2 being a quantum duplicate doesn't mean he had the same experiences as rewind 1...

and I love so much that chromedome just Doesn't Get It, bc of course he wouldn't - he’s too relieved that rewind is back to even consider that its not quite the same, that the rewind he was forced to blow up is still dead (which is a fucked up thought, so of course chromedome, the master of pushing the past away and moving right along, would want to avoid thinking about that in favor of continuing his relationship w/rewind 2)

it also makes a lot of sense that rewind, who records everything and puts a huge emphasis on history/the past, would be hyperaware of all the differences between him and rewind 1, and his chromedome and this chromedome

AUGHHHH and chromedome referring to an offer he made to rewind that was pretty clearly ‘if your memories of the djd slaughter are too much, I can remove them for you’ ooooof...I love these two so much, like...their absolute opposite approaches to trauma is fascinating

oooh mannnnn and then rewind starts ‘remembering’ stuff from the functionist universe...the plot thickens...!

I really like how one of the main ‘things’ in a lot of tf universes is energon/energy shortages, its interesting when the angle is kinda like, ‘energon is a finite resource and the methods to obtain more often involve destroying other planets,’ that's a pretty unique, alien problem for the tfs to have

it also makes sense that the functionists would form partially in response to that (perceived) shortage, and any sort of scarcity would push them further into their extremist views

I like how expressive the characters with visors are...its cute...

poor rewind has to go thru So Much

WHY can just anyone go into the morgue and touch the dead bodies. I mean I guess megatron being one of the captains explains why he’s in there, but that still shouldn't be allowed

and writing wise, both empurata and the tv-heads are such good devices to show evil govt bs. I talk abt it a lot but I like all the ways jro gets creative with the ‘alien robots’ thing; a lot of these concepts wouldn't work at all with humans or other organic aliens

also seeing dominus here is fascinating - clearly the council managed to pin him down enough to turn him into a flathead, but they never discovered his true alt mode...same with minimus, actually

I love the look into the functionist universe, I love seeing alternate versions of characters and settings so much, and I love time travel, so this issue is basically made for me

plus I fuckign love alien robot politics and seeing the absolute control the govt has over cybertronian society in the functionist universe is fascinating - plus from a storytelling standpoint, I think it was brilliant to show the ‘other side,’ aka what things would've been like without the war...which is something ill talk about later when its more directly addressed in the story but man do I enjoy that

don’t watch period| drop if not interested within 2-3 episodes| give it a go, could be your thing| 5 star recommendation

I fucking love this series so much.

fav characters: Ling, Greed(esp after he joined with Ling), Al, Ed, Izumi, Olivier...I could go on cause they’re all so great.

least fav characters: Shou Tucker

fav relationship: Greed-Ling, Mustang-Hawkeye and Mustang and all his subordinates, Ed-Al-Winry

fav moment: Ed basically punching god in the face with his bare hands because ‘fuck you that’s why’.

Also I have a soft spot for the scene were the Briggs men are returning from underground tunnel and they’re like ‘whelp it’s been 24 hours they’re not going to open the door’(as per Olivier’s orders) but then it does open to let them out and when he questions the guy guarding the tunnel he’s just like ‘hmm, 24 hours, not by my watch see?’ and holds up this very obviously broken pocket watch before adding ‘The general gave it to me every time you went on away missions, pretty nice huh?’

headcanons/theories: I honestly don’t think I have any, the series deals with everything fairly nicely. Though I’d like to think that if Ed and Winry have a daughter (as it’s hard to tell if their babies are boys or girls) they’d name her after Nina. And that Roy and Riza would finally get hitched once they’re out of the military/should the rules change (since Word of God says military rules are the only thing keeping them from getting married).

unpopular opinion: I prefer it to the ‘03 series. The ‘03 series does have a fair number of good points (the OVAs are great and there are parts that are manga accurate) but, I don’t like it. I understand why they had to change things, and that’s not a bad thing (I’ve watched plenty of series that went off the rails in regards to canon and liked them) But I don’t like what they did for FMA.

If the main characters that I’m growing to like have had a shit life and lost everything, I want to see them succeed, not have it torn away from them at the end after they’ve tried so hard and lost so much. And Brotherhood lets them finally win.

Not to mention the movie was a huge let down. I was hoping it would fix the sad ending problem but nope. It just decides that to make Ed less lonely they’d drop Al in the real world with him. So now Winry gets to suffer alllll over again. Lovely.

Not to mention, the homunculi. I was not impressed by their whole ‘but we want to be human waaaa’ schtick :/ That’s not how they are, they see themselves as better than humans.

Also, nooooot very keen on the ‘03′s decision to go ‘let’s make the Amestrian military’s real world counterpart be *actual* Nazis and put beloved characters like Hughes into a Nazi uniform.

Like, WHAT THE FUCK? That’s a yikes from me.

how’d you find it: I found the manga at the school library, read it and got hooked. Watched the ‘03 anime (cause at the time it was the only one available) and then eventually heard they were doing a more manga accurate series called ‘Brotherhood’ and decided to watch that.

random thoughts: I don’t understand why people insist that Hoenheim was a bad father. Like, did we watch the same series here?? Are we talking about the same character??

Cause he really isn’t. There’s probably other absentee fathers in anime that are far, far worse. Like for godsakes, he didn’t leave home with the intent on abandoning his family. He left b/c he was so consumed with self-loathing for his very being that he wanted to find a way to rid himself of his immortality (something forced on him without his consent for the record) so he could live out his life with his wife and kids and then things spiralled out of control on both ends (he didn’t expect his wife to up and DIE while he was gone nor did he expect to learn about that big-ass transmutation circle intended to destroy the world).

Ahem. I have, a lot of thoughts about him and I think he gets an undeserved bad rap.

I’m going to use this to rec two fantastic, multi-chapter fanfics I’ve read in the past month that have given me that good serotonin in these trying times.

Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce by imaginatory, which is an HP altered universe fic in which Gordon Ramsey becomes Potions teacher. Yes, I’m aware it sounds like a crack fic. It will also HOOK YOU IN! The characterizations are just... *chefs kiss* (yes that was a pun). It genuinely made me cry in more than one place and it writes in all the canon pairings while still giving some fantastic LGBTQ+ rep, and it has an adult character who actually gets mad at the other adults in HP for being awful to kids! (Look, I didn’t know how much I needed Gordon Ramsey to yell at Snape about how he treats Neville until it happened.) Holy cow please read this.

All The Things You Prayed For by @anonymousalchemist and @marywhale, which is a TAZ MCU AU, and it’s just. It’s just great. It has Blupjeans. It has Taakitz. It has phenomenal Taako-Lup sibling content. It has pining, it has hurt/comfort, it has whump, it has Merle being absolutely and completely hilarious - there’s good humor throughout, but Merle is, true to form, something else - it has Istus and the Raven Queen being loving moms to their maladjusted spy goth son, it’s just so good.

I’ve been super busy lately because I suddenly have TWO NEW KITTENS (!!) to add into my household, but now I have some time for memes.

Favourite Character? Commander Shepard herself!! I think the ending of ME3 ruined me because what happens to her in most cases is so final and I wanted a goddamn happy ending for my shep and Garrus. But yeah, Shepard is the best no matter how you play her. Specifically her because I can’t stand male!shep’s voice srynotsry.

Paragon or Renegade? I usually do Paragade, where I’m mostly Paragon with like 20% Renegade. It’s so hard to be mean to people man, but I do it if they’re an asshole who deserves it.

Favourite class? Infiltrator because sniper rifles. Although in my “canon” playthrough my shepard in ME1 was an engineer, then in ME2 was an infiltrator, and in ME3 a vanguard. It makes zero sense in-game to be able to have a class with biotics if you didn’t start out that way, but they let you switch so I did.

Spacer, Colonist, or Earthborn? Spacer. The only Shepard with living family ;.;

War Hero, Sole Survivor, or Ruthless? Sole Survivor. My boyfriend couldn’t stop laughing at them saying “Akuze” because it’s pronounced like “cooze”

Favourite alien? Garrus? But if we’re talking species, I really do like the Turians. I think they’re pretty fascinating. I also really love the volus because they are totally stereotypical nerds and sound like people commentating on let’s plays.

Favourite planet/location? Afterlife on Omega was the funnest place because that song they play was amazing and the dancing was great. Every time I had to go do something on Omega, I’d make sure I passed through Afterlife

Favourite DLC? Citadel DLC all the way!! I loved seeing the team hang out and relax and be normal together. It’s so refreshing and I hope we see this kind of thing in Andromeda too. I wish there was more of it in DA

Favourite weapon? The collector beam. That thing does some serious damage

Favourite Shepard/OC? Mine? I don’t really like the default and no one ever makes a Shepard that looks like mine. Although her hair is the popular choice.

Favourite mission? Archangel. And not just because I’m Shakarian trash! It’s really one that surprised me because I thought for sure I fucked up big time when Garrus gets hit in the end. I honestly thought he was going to die. That toyed with my feelings before anything even happened and that wins for making me feel things so early on in the game.

Favourite track? Lower Afterlife!!! Shit, I love listening to this track. It gets me pumped and want to go out to party and dance like the people in that club. My second fav is the galaxy map music. It makes me super nostalgic and I still hum it all the time. It’s so distinctly Mass Effect to me

ME1, ME2 or ME3? ME2 because the suicide mission was sooooooo good! And the loyalty missions were all great too! ME3 is a close second because it made me a mess of emotions, like fuck. There were too many cons to the ending so that makes ME2 much better to me even though ME3 had some of the best Shakarian moments

SR-1 or SR-2? SR-2 all the way! So much more space in it and it was easier to navigate.

Anyways, an "anonymous ""friend"" wanted me to promo the card game anime I've been watching lately, Cardfight Vanguard.

now, this might sound silly, but completely skip the first series. It's not as good. Go straight to Cardfight Vanguard G

So the G stands for "generation". It picks up about 3 years after the first series, but characters from the old show do appear in updated form. It's similar to GX. In... More ways than just that.

But the characters are absolutely great???

Like here’s our main

(Overlook the hair, because it’s cute, and you are wrong) Think he looks done? He is. This is Chrono Shindou, who is clearly antisocial beyond belief. He seems to be bitter about everything until he gets a extremely rare deck of cards, and Vanguard opens his heart. Another important thing is that he absolutely loves kids. He is a good clam cake and I love him.

This is Tokoha Anjou. She’s like a love interest, except she has a personality, and does not waste her screen time acting like she secretly ~cares~ about the protag. Her brother is a top fighter, so she is under a lot of “you’re the lil sister to him! you must be great!” stress. She’s uses a flowery deck, but she’s extremely hot headed (I don’t trust her with flowers at all)

This is Shion Kiba. He’s the heir to some Kiba nonsense, so he has a lot of “rich boi” aspects to him (he’s dazzled by the concept of making a campfire. I love him). He uses a Royal Knight deck. Don’t even ask yourself what you expected. What else would he use.

The three of them start out Not Friends, but eventually become If You Touch Them I Will Kill You With My Bare Arms I Swear Friends, and it’s such a good transition

These three are the Trinity Dragon. Honestly, I thought I would hate them, but they are such a refreshing rival team. Like they support each other so much. Like they get so defensive if one of them breaks from the group. I wan them to stay happy forever. (also their decks are so funny, bless them)

This is Jaime Alcaraz. If you think he looks majestic in this shot, you are right, but here’s what he normally looks like:

He’s a massive tourist (he’s not from Japan) who is almost constantly excited, and talking about his doki dokis. He uses a sea deck, with a lot of Kelpie riders (be still my beating heart indeed)

(There are a bunch of villains, but they’re all spoilers, rip)

But enough about characters:

The whole concept is that card games happen on table top, but you have to imagine what’s happening. So players are literally pretending they are their fav cards. It’s honestly adorable. I can’t say it’s anything like the Pokemon, Digimon, or Yugioh card game. It’s... interesting. (they barely focus on it for a few episodes, and there is so far only one ep where a fight takes longer than one episode) so it is REALLY not like Yugioh in that aspect.

I’ve played Awakening a BUNCH, it was my first fire emblem game, and when I got my 3ds in like… 2013? They got Awakening for me with it because I’d talked about it. It still remains the single game on my 3ds that has the most hours on it, like i think over 250 at least? maybe 300 now. I spent wild amounts of time collecting as many of the supports as possible, and I’m still doing it here and there. I have all of the F!Avatar supports filled out, except for a a Severa A rank one but I mighta filled that out already. M!Avatar is filled out all the way too I think…..

From Awakening I absolutely ADORE Panne, Gaius, and Lon’qu, and Yarne is my SON oh my god…. I’m super weak for most of the characters, they’re all so good, and fleshed out tbh. OH i’ve got a HUGE soft spot for Gangrel, i just love him,,, so mu c h

I’ve also played Birthright, but never finished because although it was really fun, and I loved the characters, it felt… a little lacking in comparison to Awakening, which I think is just that they kinda bit off more than they could chew with the cast and plot, and some things kinda fell through the cracks. I think if they’d had more of a budget, and more time it could have been a lot better. I still had fun though! I really liked it (EXCEPT DEEPREALMS LIKE WTF I GET IT IN CONCEPT BUT LIKE. FJASKDL;) and had fun while playing and I could never decide who to support.

On a deep level I ship Corrin/Silas like. so much. so, so much, and he’s such a sweetheart, but I also am reaaaaal in love with Saizo and I think the supports with Kaze and Jakob for the f!Avatar are really cute. I haven’t done a male runthrough yet though because i never finished my fem one, but yeah. Also CAMILLA?????? MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME. EASILY, HANDS DOWN. Camilla deserves all of the love 2k18. I haven’t even gotten to play conquest or revelations but i would die for camilla she’s so sweet and kind and pretty and i’m so fucking w e a k

I also have Heroes, of course, and I’m currently running a couple different teams but….

In my main and offense team, named “Wives” I’ve got Camilla and the WF!Hinoka supporting each other, I’m summ supporting Camilla too. I’ve got Sakura and Ninian supporting each other. I have Camilla and WF!Hinoka out there to kick ass, Sakura can do some magic damage when I need, and Ninian is more of a fall back and support, since I gave her a tank build and Lightning Breath. This is easily my fastest team for going and killing enemies and i use them in arena offense p much exclusively cause i’m impatient and lvoe Camilla.

My defense team “Dragons” is my fav and it has m!Grima with a defense boon i think? god he’s a tank, i’ve got him set up as mostly an enemy phase since he’s got a lotta defense. I have him set up with Steady Stance 3, Vengeful Fighter 3, Savage Blow 3 (for mixed phase but I’m looking into some other options) and I have an Attack Smoke 2 Seal on him. His hero merit is like 2760 and his sp is fully capped out fjsakdl;. Oh I also gave him Pivot and Aether because I needed a way to give him a little more Mobility and i wanted him to be able to heal himself while doin lots of Damage. I’ve also got Young Tiki (supported by Linde) with Brazen Atk/Spd 2, Vantage 2, Breath of Life 2, and the HP +5 seal to give her some more health so she doesn’t die from hits easily. I’ve got her with the Breath of Fog that gives an attack and Defense bonus when within 2 spaces of sword or dragon units. I slapped her with Draw Back and Growing flame but I’m not done yet, since I was briefly contemplating giving her Lightning Breath+ (which I did, but only got to Lightning Breath) before the update came out so I wasted some SP on it…. Once I’m done she’ll have Blazing Flame, and then all her skills will be maxed out obv lol. Linde I gave Dark Aura because it gives Tiki and Grimgams that good attack bonus of 6 if she’s adjacent at the start of a turn, and then I gave her life and death 3, chill spd 3, spur def 3, and an attack seal that just bumped to 3. I haven’t decided on a skill yet but I might keep it as her default of Ardent Sacrifice. She’s also got Blazing Thunder as her special, and her attack is literally higher than Grima’s by 1 at 57 because of all the skills I slapped her with, her spd is 41, and her defense is NINE. Her hp is pitiful too lol. Then I have my healer as Sakura because she’s so cute… Plus she’s pretty powerful, since I slapped her with Fear+ that has the wrathful staff skill. She’s got Physic+ and Heavenly Light to help her stay out of enemy reach but heal effectively. If she does end up getting hit though I gave her Live to Serve awhile back, she’s got fortify def, and Breath of Life 1 seal because I haven’t upgraded it all the way, but I wanted her to have a way to heal even when I need her to attack and get the enemy’s attack lowered. This is the team I use most frequently because grimgams is so fuckin easy to keep alive, Tiki heals every other turn, and Linde can sit and buff them the whole time while Sakura heals from far away.

My favs that I tend to mix and match as needed are Azama (i think he’s funny as hell overall I loved him in fates) because of his Pain+ combined with Wrathful staff. It’s unforgiving. I also reeeeaaaaally Like Ike, I’ve got his Vanguard Legend of course and I’m just now starting to work on filling him out. Arvis is super cute, I’ve got Delthea - AND THE SPRING ALFONSE WHICH IS A++++. I have the Halloween Henry and performing arts Olivia and I lvoe both of them so much…. I’ve also got a few different units I’m working on filling out overall though.

I haven’t played any other games, but I plan to at some point! I’m also super looking forward to the new game that’s coming out!
